I purchased an LG washer. After the warranty ran out, a tear appeared in the gasket around the washer. It seems like this is a default, this should not have happened in this small span of time. It will cost around $350 to repair plus the technicians fees. Im very disappointed in this machine and would not recommend it to anyone. A class action law suit sounds good to me.

LFX 28978ST French door refrigerator - Paid over 3 thousand dollars for this beautiful worthless excuse for a refrigerator. Stopped cooling for the third time in the past year (only 5 years old) and once again ruined everything in both compartments. Compressor out again. This will be compressor #4 (one wouldnt work out of the box) and repairman says not worth fixing as they go out all the time. Signed up for potential class action by one of the internet law firms but they sent me an email a few days ago saying they were not continuing the action. Said they would send my issue to LG as they are very customer focused. The next morning found all food ruined and compressor out. Customer focused... NOT!!! Please please please do not purchase this or any other LG product.

Bought a LG French door refrigerator April 2012. Within 8 months if you use the ice dispenser, it would not stop dispensing ice without jiggling the dispenser. Call LG, they sent someone who brought the wrong part because the person did not understand the problem that I told them about. The repair person said he had to order a new part and it would take a couple of weeks. About three weeks later, I receive a phone call from LG stating that instead of fixing the ice maker they were going to replace the whole refrigerator. That should have been the first sign of trouble. I said ok. They said I need to send them the serial name plate on the inside. I said ok but why. “Well we dont want the refrigerator back, but we dont want any serial numbers on this to void all warranty.” I guess this is because if I sell it I cant claim to have a warranty for it. That’s fine, Im getting a new refrigerator. Mistake number 1. They are going to call me with a date and time. Finally someone else calls to set up delivery and tells me the date and that this refrigerator is only going to have a warranty of 90 days and they are not going to set up the new refrigerator. Mistake number 2. I thought only a couple of months left on this refrigerator, get a new with a couple of extra months. I agreed with this and the people brought in anyways. Now with the new, 8 month later, I now have the error message 1f. I you are thinking about this refrigerator or LG products, stay away. Customer service is rude and thoughtless when it comes to your problem. They have a serious problem with this product and are not willing to fix it.

Bought an LG DLGX5681 (white) at Lowes on 7/7/14 and on 3/1/15 it just stopped spinning. Only washing maybe 6-8 lbs of wet white clothes straight from the LG washer, which seems to do well. I got one revolution after I turned it on and off and manually changed the load from medium to load, but only one spin before it cut out again. Do NOT buy LG. I read the consumer reports. I purchased based on their recommendations. Dont buy consumer reports. I think theyre being paid.

Buyer beware! Rust develops in the top housing of LG washers, starting at the bleach dispenser. It does not matter if you use the dispenser or not, rust will eventually develop there, and elsewhere, on the top and lid of the machine. Eventually rust flakes will get in your wash leaving whites dingy. There is no fix for this problem. It is a result of poor craftsmanship. A class action lawsuit was filed and LG won claiming user problem. Odd how the regular use of their product would be a problem that causes rust. Do not take my word for it alone- search “LG washer rust” and read about loads of frustrated consumers with rust problems starting in the bleach dispenser area, in some cases rusting out altogether. Buyer beware!

Updated on 07/25/2019: I thought I would be coming back here to change my rating. An LG rep contacted me in private conversation on this site after I posted my original review. He promised in writing (sent the transcript to LGs repair website) to fix the problem with no charge. I spent hours of submitting the required pictures, information, and the transcript of the conversation. The rep who spoke with me and reviewed the conversation said that since I was promised a courtesy repair and since I submitted the proof, that an LG rep would be contacting me by phone within the next two days. Instead, I just received an email in my junk mail that THEY COULD NOT APPROVE THE REPAIR. So, my original review stands at one star. It should be lower because they did not follow through on their promise. On my original review, it states Resolution in Progress. SADLY, THEY HAVE NO INTENTION ON RESOLVING THIS. It would have been better for them to turn me down OR NOT OFFER in the first place than promise the courtesy repair and renege. I DIDNT ASK THEM TO FIX IT, I was just writing a review on their product. They offered to fix it. Never again will I buy and LG product. And I will discourage all my friends and acquaintances against it. Dont buy anything LG--there are so many other better brands out there with real customer service!Original review: We purchased an LG refrigerator and almost immediately the covering on the control panel started peeling. Its my fault that I didnt take care of it right away, but it was only cosmetic. At the time, we were in the middle of a military move and had many other things that needed attention. The fridge is only 6 years old, but now the peeling has almost reached the fonts that tell you what your choices are. As it peels, it turns black underneath so once it reaches the wording, we wont be able to read the available choices. The customer service rep says it will be $125.00 to send someone out and they do not sell the required part to customers. Only a technician can bring the part. Cheap product- wont buy again.

We purchased 4 appliances from them for a rental unit - dishwasher oven, microwave, and a refrigerator. The oven started smoking with a an electrical issue upon its first use. It took over 2 weeks to go through their horrible warranty program, only to reach out to Home Depot to get their help. They replaced the unit. The dishwasher broke next, wont even start. LG sent 3 videos and wouldnt schedule a repairman until we pushed for it. The repairman didnt show up for the appointment and now we are waiting 10 days for another. Today, our microwave isnt working at all - except the turntable. No heating, nothing. The only thing that is working so far out of this expensive package is the refrigerator. LG is costing us time and money in this investment property. Would we ever buy LG again? Heck no! The electrical issue with the new stove alone was cause for a huge concern!

Updated on 08/23/2019: Hi this is third review about the same issue I have been having for 6 months in that LG is not fixing the brand new refrigerator that only worked for two weeks. I have been trying for 6 months for someone to show up to fix it. They then sent me an email a month ago saying they would call me to arrange a time to replace it. They didnt call. Another technician was scheduled to come. This would be the 19th appointment I have had with them and none they have shown up to. I just received another text saying that my appointment is cancelled and LG are doing absolutely nothing to honor my warranty with them in rectifying the situation. I can not say enough to never buy anything from LG.Updated on 08/14/2019: 2nd time I am writing about useless LG. I bought a brand new refrigerator. It broke after two weeks of owning it. 6 months has passed. They use A&E Factory as technicians. A&E have cancelled on me 17 times leaving me to wait at home for them and then either not calling at all or they text 30 mins before the end time. LG contacted me after I wrote my first bad review saying they would replace it. This was a month ago and now they have disappeared. Do not buy LG, the product breaks; the company is dishonest, they do nothing to help, they lie and do not follow the warranty. I am still stuck with a broken fridge with no help whatsoever. I never write reviews. I am so upset and angry about this situation I had to write this so no one else goes through what I am right now. I am utterly stranded and at the mercy of the technicians never showing up and LG doing nothing to rectify the situation. Absolutely disgusting.Original Review: Your freezer broke within two weeks of me owning the refrigerator. I have been waiting 12 weeks for someone to come and fix it. Your service provider in my area has cancelled and not shown up to any of the appointments that have been set. I will never ever ever buy an LG product ever again and I am telling every single person I know and all those that follow me on social media, on Yelp and Google and all sites to share my advice of never buying any LG products. I am disgusted with your company and disgusted I have been offered no compensation for this situation.

The LG website doesnt work and you are unable to register a complaint there
The LG website doesnt work and you are unable to register a complaint there. To pre-treat a large cat urine stain on my daughters duvet and cover I poured apple cider vinegar on the spot. Then I put the washing machine on the bulky/bedding cycle, added some more apple cider vinegar, HE detergent and an hour later I put it in the dryer on bulky/bedding setting and chose very dry....twice! Thats an hour for the washer and 2 hours and 10 mins for the dryer. Not only is the duvet and cover still damp but the stain is still there. So tomorrow I am off to the Laundromat where I should have gone in the first place. There is no point in having a bulky/bedding cycle if the machine is unable to handle the load. I will never buy one of these top loaders again. The clothes are NEVER clean and I always have to choose a longer drying time. I feel that LG has misrepresented their product as energy saving!

I had purchased a LG refrigerator about 5 years ago. Needless to say, my 15 year old mini fridge is one-upping this terrible product. I have been trying to have SOMEONE repair it, however, there is no appliance store that is certified to fix it. Clearly this speaks volumes. I have had nothing but terrible service from LG, who expressed no concern for this ongoing inconvenience (understatement). I am just about at the two month mark of having a non-functional refrigerator. The fan was replaced although that still didnt fix the problem. Ill be purchasing a new one because dumping more money into this product seems counterproductive at this point. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A LG PRODUCT AGAIN!! (Im only 31.)

We purchased our LG LFX29945ST refrigerator in June of 2014 and started to have major problems in December with the refrigerator compartment freezing food. We had the temperature set at 45 degrees and it was still 30 degrees inside. Called LG for service and got terrible support. We made several calls, got disconnected/hung up on once. The smart diagnosis showed we opened the refrigerator too much (we have a family of 5 so it gets used a lot). They tried to tell us it wasnt level, but the level showed good. Lucky for us we purchased a warranty via Lowes. Lowes sent a service person out and he would sit on hold for 20-30 minutes to talk with an LG tech. Service replaced the whole inside back panel with the air control doors and thermostats along with the control board. This repair caused the refrigerator to not get cold at all. Tech came back out and was told by LG support it was the wrong control board that the LG tech told him to order. Another week later the new control board comes in and its freezing food again (temp between 28-30 degrees). We been unable to use the refrigerator for over two months. Tried to do a review on the LG website and they denied it. I guess that is how they get such good reviews by rejecting the negative ones. I cant believe that I spent over $2,000 dollars on a refrigerator that I cant use for food. At this point the Technician and I are both very frustrated with LG and still trying to resolve the issue. How can a consumer get a bad appliance replaced?

We purchased our LG refrigerator in 2012, French door with ice maker. Please be aware our ice maker once again has ceased to work. This will be our 4th ice maker to be replaced, IF we have it replaced, since 2012. Even though we purchased it in 2012, we are not eligible for the flat rate repair cost, (only eligible for models from 2012) and apparently, as per LG, it was manufactured in 2011. I have never been so unhappy with this refrigerator therefore would never recommend LG to anyone. And, as a side note, the paint is already coming off from below the ice maker on the outside. We called LG and explained this all to them but they were unable to help us. This has been such a frustrating experience for us.

After installing a new LG gas dryer the dryer ran fine but there was no heat. I called LG and they said a service person would call within 48 hours. The first contact from a repair person was 3 weeks later, not 48 hours. I bought a LG refrigerator. Now 5 years old. It quit working. Started by calling the 800 number for LG repair. That was on July 27th 2020. Getting a call center out of the United States. They were very nice for the most part. A little hard to understand. I started getting texts with repair service would be in touch. I would wait and not hear anything. Call again. Again promise I would hear from them. This has gone on mind you since July, 27th 2020. Not getting anything done. I paid $100 for a service call. Was told there is a leak in the Freon line and maybe a fan problem. So again I call the 800 number. Was told I would get a email to send the proof of purchase. What they know I have it. I got all the information ready. As of today Oct. 28th of Oct nothing has happened. Thank You for letting me vent.

I bought this machine because it was oversized to be able to fit in large loads of clothes and bedding. Every year I have had it, it has progressively had more problems than the last. The last three visits were about the water coming out of the drum and they did adjustments. First they told me I could use the top speed to get water out. The next breakdown they readjusted it and said I could not wash waterproof clothing or water resistant clothing and that it would break the machine. WTF? I bought it to wash my clothes not just some of my clothes, however I followed their advice washing winter coats and gloves and bedding protection outside my house. Now its broken again same issue. I had a regular size load of jeans in it. STUPID machine!!!! Worse yet is the customer service - they dont understand English and they will disconnect you multiple times and one call in will take two hours out of your life!!! DO NOT BUY!!

Purchased an extended warranty on March 14, 2017 for my LG refrigerator for $375 through Assurant which LG told me I had to go through to get coverage. LG contacted Royal Electronics from Bunnell Fl. to service my refrigerator. R.E. phone #386-756-1775. R.E. contacted me to set up date to come to my home to look at my refrigerator. R.E. did show up but only after cancelling the first appointment and showing up a week later. The service repairman was very friendly but came completely unprepared and was ready to walk out the door when I brought it to his attention that he hadnt even checked the ice maker, which was one of the main reasons he was there. The other was the water inlet valve in the back of the refer. Jumping ahead repairman said he order the parts but that the refer was old (7yrs) and I might not be able to get all the parts for it. Sad.Im waiting almost two weeks and hear nothing from R.E. I call them back and they say they cant get the ice maker anymore (no longer available). I went online and found the part myself at repairclinic.com. I called R.E. back and said they could get the part from repairclinic. R.E. told me they only order parts from approved suppliers through LG. I called LG and they said they would authorize the purchase, and let R.E. know to go ahead and order the parts. In the meantime Im still making phone calls both to R.E. and L.G. really getting nowhere. Assurant has already charged my credit card twice ($250 now), and nothing has yet to remedy my broken refer 6 wks later. R.E. never calls back and I always had to call them.Collette from R.E. told me the part was on its way but she didnt have a tracking number and that we would just have to wait to hear from her again. She told me not to call again because she would call me (that never happened). So now after at least two working days on the phone, on hold more than half the time, I decided to cancel my insurance policy. I call LG and they said they would charge me $100 and refund the rest. They said this was to pay for the service call to my house by the repairman. I received really no service at all, and Id be a fool to keep playing phone tag with two companies that obviously have no intentions of making it right. I believe R.E. was being spiteful that I went above their heads and found the part I needed from another company. (Prior, R.E. insisted to me that the parts could no longer be obtained because the part was no longer manufactured.)They just did not want to do their job and thats incompetence as far as Im concerned. What a win fall for R.E. All the repairman does is show up and he gets paid. LG should refund all my money for the trouble I have been put through. A refrigerator that cost me about $2400 should last (in my book) at least 10 yrs before something goes wrong with it. LG mindset, its time to buy a new one in 6 to 7 yrs. What a shame and what happened to pride in the products we buy in the USA? Wasteful! Wasteful! Wasteful! I shall go on to order the parts myself and try to repair my refrigerator. What happened to the days when you would call a repairman and he would have the parts in his truck and hed fix it right then and there?

Our refrigerator (model LFX28978ST/0) although has had 3 of the shelves in the door cracked, a rolling wheel on the Vegetable bin broke, the clear cover on the butter dish broke and the ice tray cracked. All within 3 year of purchase. LG suggests we purchase the entire ice maker $180 just for a $10 ice tray, the vegetable bin is no longer available. The other parts I was able to purchase at $150. Every time I use the ice maker on my LG refridgerator, I hate it even more. Tonight is a good example, where I just needed a few ice cubes for a glass of scotch. More than 20 minutes later, I finally finished cleaning up the mess from the ice maker being frozen up and unable to dispense ice cubes. The resolution, as always, was to take everything apart to unblock the dispenser that was loaded with a frozen chunk of ice cubes and frost, which is likely due to the flap on the dispenser getting stuck open for some reason. This is NOT a one time occurence but one Ive been dealing with since the fridge was purchased more than 3 years ago. This combined with its ridiculously slow time to make ice has convinced me to NEVER, EVER buys another LG product. My contacting LG for support was an insult - everything was my fault and they stood by their claim that they were perfect and I was a nuisance for having contacted them. Ive had similar experiences with contacting them about their ranges, where the front edge of the stove top kept getting chip marks. Turns out they no longer sell a paint to fix these chips and asking them why was met with indifference. Methinks this is because theyre trying to avoid the liability of them having sold a product that has inferior paint or a large batch of ranges with faulty paint.

We bought our 4 door LG refrigerator in 2015 when we remodeled our home. It is by far the worst appliance purchase we have ever made. Weve had the compressor fail and replaced early on, then the ice maker was replaced, then one of the glass doors cracked, and now the compressor has failed again. In both cases when the compressors failed, we have had to throw away the entire fridge full of food, which is very expensive for us. I understand that the technology in newer refrigerators may be more sensitive, and life expectancy may be less than what they used to be, but this has been an inexcusable experience with a very expensive appliance.

So, when I went to Costco and I saw the refrigerators over there, I liked the way they look. Also, theyre nice because the ice maker was on the door and not inside of the refrigerator. We needed a bigger space refrigerator. This is how I picked mine. I like the way how it’s designed in it. The freezer part of it is great. It has several layers. And the drink drawer is perfect. So, it’s very well-designed and made. I love it. I will recommend LG.

I purchased a refrigerator, dishwasher and gas range for my new home that I moved in to in 2019. Close to 5000$. Of course they are all out of warranty now and during Christmas of 2021 pieces of enamel was being found in my food I was baking in the oven. Needless to say this has to be a manufacturers defect because nothing I have done would warrant chips of enamel falling off. I called they said, Nope its out of warranty. Even with the fact that we could have consumed some of the enamel they do NOT care. Even the man that I called about checking it out said LG was hard to work with. I am hoping to get this resolved soon being I can not use my oven for fear of consuming enamel. I was so proud at how all three units looked in my kitchen and people were impressed with the look of them. Shame on you LG for selling expensive crap!! And then refusing to take care of your customers.

Im going to make this quick and simple a easy read. I have had an amazing experience with LG televisions for years. The washing machines however are a whole different animal! My thought process was spend a good amount of cash get a good name brand, and it would last me at least 10+ years. Not the case!! We purchased our front load LG washer in 2012. It worked fine up until about 6 months ago. It would stop about 10 times through a wash cycle. It would take about 3 hours per load! Ridiculous!!! Of course we tried contacting LG to no avail! Got the run around from several scripted employees. I will never purchase a LG washer of any kind and suggest anyone else do the same!! Unless you enjoy spending your hard earned money on a worthless product that would only last 4 years if you are lucky!

After 4 years of no issues with our LG refrigerator, it died one day after we hosted our daughters bridal shower. Needless to say, we lost all the food. Called a repairman, came out and informed us it was the compressor and it was under warranty. He also warned us that LG has been having issues with the compressors. We called LG and they told us that their repair service (through A&E) couldnt come out until 2 weeks later. I waited ALL day and no one ever came. We received a call and email to call back the next day to reschedule. Naturally I assumed they would come asap. Well to my dismay, they couldnt come out until 2 WEEKS later. Are you kidding me!! We had been without a fridge all this time and they expect you to wait even longer and its their negligence! We were so frustrated and disgusted we just gave up and bought a new refrigerator, a Frigidaire, since it seems price doesnt guarantee it will last!

I purchased LG Waveforce Top Loading Washer WT5001cw and Gas Dryer Set on 7
I purchased LG Waveforce Top Loading Washer WT5001cw and Gas Dryer Set on 7/9/11 from Best Buy. I had a little issue of leaking that out of nowhere was resolved. On 10/31/2102, I went to the washer to get my whites out. I couldnt open the washer because it was locked. I pressed the power button & it would not turn on. I pulled out the manual to troubleshoot the issue. There was nothing in the manual to address this issue. I then called LG. I talked to a rep out of a call center in the country of Panama. The person told me to unplug unit for 30 seconds to reset. I did this. That did not work. The person then told me to check the circuit breaker to see if the outlet tripped. I checked the circuit breaker & everything checked out normal. That did not fix issue. They told me to plug it into a different outlet. I did this. That did not fix issue. I told rep that I smelled a burning smell coming from unit. The rep told me to unplug unit. I immediately unplugged unit. Rep stated that since the unit was a bit over warranty, I would have to send my original receipt to them to be approved for an extended warranty. I faxed LG the documents they requested. As we waited days to see if this warranty was going to be approved, on Sunday, 11/4/12, my husband went down to basement to see if washer would turn on. He plugged it back in & smelt a burning smell & saw smoke coming from the back of unit. He took off a small white cover in the back to see what was happening. We found out that the main power source in the washer had caught on fire and this wasnt the first time since 10/31/12. We immediately called LG to report this & they seemed uninterested in helping us. This call center was in Asia. We also took many pictures. This rep told us we needed to contact LG on Monday to find out what to do next. On Monday, we called & talked to a rep in the USA by the name of Adrianne **, a supposed supervisor for LG. She wasnt helpful whatsoever and she was extremely rude. She made us re-fax and email another copy of original sales receipt to call us a few hours later to tell us that we were not approved for the extended warranty. She said her superiors told her that because we took off the back panel, we voided the warranty or any option for an extended. We were like Are you ** kidding us? This was an emergency situation of an LG appliance on fire in our home and it caught on fire previously days before this. Then this stupid rep told us to go to Best Buy to see if they could do anything for us, which we did that same night, which was tonight. The Best Buy manager pretty much laughed (not at us) as they were shocked LG told us to go back to them. Now, we are in a situation of being without a washer. We are trying to figure out what to do next. This appliance cannot be repaired. Even if it could, we dont want a fire hazard in our home or have to worry about it re-catching on fire in future.

I bought the French door with bottom drawer pull out freezer & ice/wate
I bought the French door with bottom drawer pull out freezer & ice/water in door refrigerator Model# LFX28968D (& matching dishwasher) in July 2017... delivered mid Sept 2017. Spent $3200 before tax. Compressor failed May 2021... Fridge looks like operating normally but nothing frozen in freezer, no cooling in fridge and obviously no ice. Turns out my model# along with some other LG models have KNOWN COMPRESSOR FAILURE problems... But yet they kept producing them... And when compressor failed - they replaced with same (if still under warranty) and in a large number of cases-those replacements also failed! Remember-even though the compressor may be covered you still pay for time/ labour on repair visit. There was a class action lawsuit in USA that was settled and compensated everyone in Feb 2021-but this is only in USA not Canada. Personally I think they would have upheld their reputation had they done a recall... It’s not just a loss of a few hundred dollars... We’re talking thousands for the product, hundreds in frozen/refrigerated food loss and hundreds in repair labour fees (maybe multiple times)... I am fortunate to have purchased extended warranty from the business where I bought the fridge... which I don’t typically do. The repair company was great - came quickly and they already had this part stocked because they’ve been going to multiple calls with this issue. When it comes to the next new fridge I need to buy it will definitely NOT be an LG product... because when the compressor fails (once or more) Life’s NOT Good! I’m not sure this will actually get published but this is the link to the class action lawsuit details that includes all the model#’s. **

I have purchased a LG Microwave Oven model MS4266OBS from Good Guys in 2018. The following statement is printed on the glass door of the MW oven: Smart Inverter Magnetron 10-year Warranty - Please see the picture attached. It doesnt say either Part only warranty or Limited Warranty. My LG MW oven does not heat after 4 years. LG Customer support asked me to perform a quick test and they determined that the Magnetron is faulty and need to replace. They also told me that they do provide the part free of charge but I have to pay for the labour. When I mentioned what is printed on the glass door of the MW oven, they said I need to refer to the operations a manual that comes with the MW oven to get full details of the 10-year warranty and its my faulty as I have not read the operations manual before making the purchase. As per the advice received from the LG Australia Customer Services, LG EXPECTS ALL CUSTOMERS TO READ THE OPERATIONS MANUAL OF ANY LG APPLIANCE prior to buying them as what is written in the operations manual could be a clear contradiction of what is printed on the appliance. This is misleading the customers who trust whats written on the appliance to be accurate as per how it is written on the appliance. BE CAREFUL with this dodgy company, their dodgy products and customer service! It is not possible for anyone to read the operations manual of a product at a shop before you purchase it. I am not sure how these companies were allowed to operate in this kind of dodgy manner.

I own an LG Clothes Washer, model WM0624HW/01. The direct drive motor supposedly had a 7-year warranty on it. The rotor has plastic (!) splines in it that attach to the drum shaft to wash and spin the clothes. It (of course, its plastic!) stripped out after three years of normal household use. I contacted LG to get a replacement (I have been repairing appliances for 20+ years professionally, I know what I am doing); they absolutely refused. They said, Thank you for contacting LG Electronics. I am delighted to hear from you as our valued customer and I will be glad to answer your concern. I apologize for the inconvenience youre having. Drum motor such as stator, rotor and hall sensor have a seven year warranty from the date of purchase. Yes, the motor is still in warranty as I checked based on the serial number you provided. The washer has a one year warranty for parts and labor from the date of purchase but has exclusion for warranty of other parts as stated in the warranty page in the owners manual. For the replacement of the said part, it should be done by one of our LG technicians or authorized service technicians. The technician will order the part for you as soon as the unit is checked upon technicians visit, or will install it for you if the part is available upon service visit. Let me provide our rates for the labor. For LG technicians: diagnosis - $89, minor repair - $150 + tax & parts, major repair - $225 + tax and parts. I apologize I dont have the information for the rate fee for our authorized service technician. They have different rate scheme than our own LG technicians. I hope I was able to help you with your concern. If you have other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again either via email or by calling our customer service division at 800-243-0000 at your convenience. Thank you for choosing LG!I called Albert and told him I was a qualified appliance repair person, and it only took me 10 minutes to diagnose and remove the offending part and to please just send me the part. He absolutely refused. In order to get it replaced under warranty, I would have to spend $239 in labor. The part is available to me wholesale for $73.11 and it will take me 5 minutes to replace it. Of course, I will bite the bullet and buy the part myself. What gripes me is that the part is under warranty but I cannot get the part. LG has figured out a way to screw me out of the warranty they supposedly provide. Even worse, the replacement part is new and improved with metal splines in it, proving LG knew there was a problem and are refusing to do anything about it. Bottom line is I will never, ever buy anything from LG ever again. LG = Latest Garbage. This is not the first LG appliance I have had problems with, but it will be the last.

We bought a side by side Refrigerator Freezer in June of 2015, on August 10th it decided to die. I believe it was the compressor. I called LG and they gave me 3 different numbers to call. Two of them were out of state. I called the first number and they said they would charge me $600 just to come look at it, and then they would have to order parts. In the mean time all of my food was spoiling. Neither of the other two numbers answered their phones. Obviously no one was available to even look at the refrigerator. Its not like We were forced to go buy a new one you can go for weeks without a refrigerator. I will never buy another LG product, as the reviews show they make defective products.

I bought this top of the line washer and matching dryer because my wife has never had very much because we both work unskilled labor jobs. She was so happy I even bought the 400 dollar matching pedestals. They look beautiful to this day but they break a lot, cant go 6 months without a problem. Worst set I have ever owned. I wish I would have gone to Sears and got a basic top loader with proven track record. I know I could have bought 3 sets for the price of the LGs. Never again LG. Where is our great Consumer protection agency at? I could have bought her a nice car for the money I have spent keeping these two LGs running since 2006. When I wear my clothes they stink. I guess we need to go back to doing our clothes at the Laundromat.

I bought an LG refrigerator model no. GC-305PS on 16th August 2013 in Brisbane. In February 2014 I noticed the paint on the fridge handle peeling off (small spots). End of March 2014, the peeling is getting much worse & I contact LG by phone. I am requested to send photos of damage by EMAIL & did so. One week later I receive an email informing me the peeling is due to “ROUGH HANDLING” & the company is not responsible.I asked a friend of mine (a spray painter) to check it & he informs me the peeling is mainly on the edge & curved surface where the paint has been applied sparingly. Maybe LG should look at better paint application from the get go. Apart from this, SO FAR no other complaints. I have had other LG products (DVD & BLU RAY) & have received good results with repairs. So maybe this is just to do with the WHITE GOODS SECTION.

Purchased in 2015 to replace a 10+ year old GE. Worst mistake we ever made was to spend $2700 on an LG 3 French Door model number: LFXS30766S /02. I am going to spare you the long version. After 18 mos the water dispenser stopped working and we were told it was not repairable. We kept using the ice maker but it began to lock up due to ice build up with every filling. We battled that for six months and decided to just turn the water off to the unit. Today - less than 3 years after purchased the unit stopped cooling and we lost most everything in the freezer and refrigerator. What a piece of junk!! Hi. I bought an LG washer and dryer 2 weeks ago, got it installed 4 days ago. My first wash the dryer didnt work, I kept trying but it didnt. LG sent a 3rd party tech who investigated and replaced a part (back box ) but it still doesnt work. Hes left it to a next unscheduled appointment to probe further to try and see if changing front panel will work. I paid $2600 for this machine and Im so disgusted, disappointed & frustrated with the process and the service from LG. For the price this machine is a complete failure for me. I paid for a new functioning washer and dryer and I got a trial and error piece of equipment. Im a mother to 4 school going kids and the inconvenience, hole in pocket and frustration is inexplicable. I want LG to replace this machine irrespective to their further investigations irrespective if it leads to repair or not. Because I didnt pay for a repaired product I paid for a brand new functioning product and I want one or my money back. I wouldnt recommend this machine to anyone on this basis.

I called the LG 1-800-243-0000 number and was told there would be a $75 service charge plus parts and labor. I purchased my Window A/C unit on 9/14/09. I cannot put my energy saver on mode as the unit freezes over, then I have to turn it off, all the water runs in the floor when it defrosted and I have to mop all the water up. When I called that number, your rep tech told me I needed to run the A/C on 82 degrees. Well if that is the case, no need for A/C as some nights it is 82 degrees here. He was very rude, told me I needed to clean my filter every week, and I clean it every three months. He also told me my unit did not have energy saver and I was standing in front of my A/C reading all the functions with all the controls on it. He had no clue what I was talking about. I will never buy another LG product as long as I live. It was the worst conversation I had ever had with a rep. He did not know what he was talking about. He was rude and disrespectful. I called on July 26, 2011, around 8 or 8:15 p.m. I am very dissatisfied and I will tell my friends that LG has the most unsatisfactory service that I have been exposed to! We bought this refrigerator in 2016. It was between this and the Samsung. I liked the looks of this one and it has a great reputation. I did not like the 3 small vegetable drawers, but thought it was minor and I would get used to it. I still do not like them. Celery doesnt fit unless cut. The only really good place to store big milk jugs is in the door which is supposed to be the worst spot to store milk. Other locations would make accessing all corners awkward. But these are minor compared to the real problem. The refrigerator stopped cooling about 4 months ago. The repairman said LG was aware that the coils had been made with inferior material so replaced it for free. (Should have been recalled before I lost all the food in my freezer and refrigerator). Since, the parts were replaced the unit has been extremely noisy. I can hear the high pitched noise upstairs from the kitchen. I called the service guy to come out again. $175.00 later I was told that it is a more powerful compressor and nothing can be done about it. I may have to get rid of it because it is driving us all nuts! Its unacceptable. Refrigerators are expensive! If this is the best LG can do, I dont want anything to do with their products!

After returning home from a 4 day trip my wife and I noticed that our frozen food was thawing out on our freezer. I checked our temperature settings to make sure that they were correct and watched to see if maybe our freezer was going through a defrost cycle. It wasn’t and the next day we had to remove our food to another refrigerator that we have so the food didn’t spoil. I contacted LG support and set up an appointment for service which was several days later. The technician came out and diagnosed a bad compressor and coils which he replaced. It took a couple of days before the ice maker even started to make ice again and thought that was strange but everything in the freezer froze so we thought we were good. After about 3 weeks we noticed that everything was thawing again and I contacted the technician directly and told him what was happening. He came out again and checked my unit and found a pinhole that caused the Freon to leak out. He repaired it and all was well until about a week ago we noticed that our ice cream was turning into milkshakes so I called the technician again and he came out and checked our refrigerator and told my wife that there was nothing wrong with it according to what his computer readouts said. By the next morning the frozen food in the freezer was thawed out and we had a large puddle of water on the floor from the upper ice maker thawing out and the water from the ice running all over the floor. I sent the technician a text and he told me that there was nothing he could do and that I needed to call customer support and file for a new repair order because he said he couldn’t figure out what was wrong. I sent him the pics I have attached and he said that ambient air temps won’t give correct readings to which I responded that the temp readings were off the walls of the refrigerator and freezer compartments. No response back on that comment.I have a different LG technician scheduled to come out tomorrow to evaluate our situation and hopefully he can fix it or get us replacement refrigerator because this one apparently defective. By the way, the refrigerator that we have had to move our food into is a GE Profile that we have had for over 15 years and have never had an issue with.

I have had this washing machine 3 years now. We have two kids so we do a load a day. The machine washes satisfactorily. But then again, most washing machines do. What I would like to caution you against are the high cost of spare parts you WILL NEED as well as the complexity of repairing this machine. When I finally bought this machine, I had read a few reviews about how the rubber gasket inside the door started to smell badly after 6 months or so. I was so enticed by the steam part of the deal that I overlooked this point. Sure enough this Tromm washer has a huge rubber gasket inside the door. This part is very hard to clean as it has a concealed ledge inside. IT WILL START SMELLING after a few months of use no matter how much you clean the tub with bleach or how many times you clean the gasket. Your clothes will smell rotten after a wash. And when they dry they smell musty. This part which costs $130 can be changed by an appliance repair service. It is very hard to do it yourself because the machine has to be opened. Total cost for replacing the gasket is $253. Next... the drain pump will break also. Give it a couple of years or so. The drain pump costs $60 to replace and with the service call that comes to another $210 total. I was amazed the work that was needed to change this pump. First of all, the pump is located in the worst possible place, and the Tromm needs to be opened in multiple places to access this pump. The job took 45 minutes to replace the pump.I am now looking into a Whirlpool clothes washer and after investigating the same parts it seems they are much cheaper and much easier to change if the machine needs to be repaired. I for one will not be buying another LG steam washer.

Updated on 02/06/2019: THIS IS AN UPDATE TO A PREVIOUS POST. We strongly do not recommend buying the LG gas oven/range model LSG4513ST due to quality issues. We also strongly do not recommend buying the LG gas oven/range from Lowes due to poor repair service, and the lack of good faith to honor the purchased extended warranty. We purchased a LG oven/range, LG refrigerator, and Bosch dishwasher from Lowes for our kitchen remodel, including a Lowes 5 year extended warranty. Our LG oven/range was installed April 2017, and we immediately observed that the control panel would signal the oven had achieved programmed temperature, but bake or broil items were undercooked. We observed the control panel would signal the temperature had been reached in about 5-10 minutes, but the oven interior took about 45 minutes to reach temperature. The LG service technician in October 2017 stated that the oven/range function was normal. In October 2018, the oven/range began turning itself off after being programmed for bake or broil. Lowes service has made five service calls during November and December 2018, without fixing the problem. Lowes notified us that our extended warranty was invalid after four service calls. The extended warranty was confirmed valid after we threatened legal action. On January 28 2019, Lowes Service phoned and indicated the oven was to be replaced. On Feb 1, 2019, Lowes Service reversed their position and decided to schedule a repair appointment for Feb 7. We have not had a functioning oven for four months.Original review: We purchased an LG LSG4513ST gas oven in Nov 2016. We do not recommend the oven. The oven has never functioned correctly. We purchased the oven from Lowe’s with a 5 year extended warranty. We have had numerous service calls without success. The oven will not stay on after programming.

LG20770ST french door 19.7 30 refrigerator - Less than 2 years old, a flims
LG20770ST french door 19.7 30 refrigerator - Less than 2 years old, a flimsy 1.5 inch spring on left door flap broke. Fortunately bought 5-year ext. warr. at R.C. Willey. Submitted claim on Willey site on 7/21/14, but had to call after 1 week. Service co. had 3 parts on backorder from LG with no ETA. (3 parts for a tiny spring? I sent them pics with claim). After 2 wks called Willey ext warr dept. They are very nice and helpful. They contacted LG, found the part irreplaceable (DO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE) and Willey is replacing the refrigerator with the same model. This is the only one I found that fits in my tiny area. I have to buy a new warranty ($129 for 5 years), but worth it as the replacement may have the same problem and I may find myself in the same situation a couple years from now. Another problem with this fridge is there is no sensor on the ice maker for when the freezer drawer is open, and if you have bad timing the ice maker releases the ice even though the drawer is pulled out. Results are you are digging the ice from below the drawer. Who designed this thing? Long story short, save yourself a lot of trouble and buy a different brand.

Bought a top loader January 2018. Washer was no problem, on September 12, 2019 I hear this loud bang! No idea where it came from. Went to get clothes out to put in dryer and there’s the agitator flipped up on the side of washer!! Completely snapped from base!!! The only thing in there were 2 shirts, 2 shorts and 4 socks. The washer is a little over a year old. This is a complete joke! Beware!! After reading how LG responses to others and the $$ to fix their products is absurd. Please beware if you buy this washer. Not made well at all!!

I moved into a home in 2013 with a 2010 LG refrigerator. Both of the water lines have had to be repaired. On November 2, 2015 all food in the refrigerator was freezing. LG will not send out a technician unless you pay them in advance on credit card - $195 for all parts and labor with a 90 day warranty. A sensor had to be replaced. Today (March 9, 2016) the food is freezing again. I just called LG and they want another $195 before they will send another technician out but not before March 14. Their products and repairs are useless. DO NOT BUY LG.

I purchased an LG French door refrigerator three years ago. It did not work from day one. All my vegetables were frozen. It took three trips to fix it. Then last Christmas, the main board went out. Now the compressor starting device went out, and none of the appliance parts places can locate it. I even called LG parts, and they are clueless. We ordered a repair service manual from LG, and that was incomplete. It did not contain part numbers for half the parts. Life might be good for LG, but it is a nightmare for their customer.

We bought an LG Front loading washer and dryer from Sears about 1 1/2 years
We bought an LG Front loading washer and dryer from Sears about 1 1/2 years ago. We immediately encountered sporadic occurrences of what looks like oil streaks from the washer. We called Sears and they sent someone out, who replaced the tub and some other items, and also told us to use a different kind of detergent. A few months and a few ruined items of clothing later, we called Sears again and they sent someone out who replaced a bunch of stuff again. They then sold us an extended warranty on the washer. We thought Sears sold it to us, but it turns out we bought it from LG. So the problem has continued and weve called LG, who is telling us that our complaint doesnt fall under the terms of the warranty, that we are complaining about cosmetic outcomes of the laundry. Crazy us, expecting a brand new washer to clean our clothes and not leave grease streaks. They have been horrible to work with. They are offering to refund the warranty which, of course, allows them to walk away from us completely. I guess well need to try and get Sears back involved, as technically we brought this to their attention under the original warranty, and it never was resolved. If you are considering buying LG, I hope you have better luck than weve had. I will never buy another product that says LG on it.

Seems my problem (compressor & HORRIBLE customer service) is one of MANY complaints about the LG refrigerator. It is junk and the service techs are even worse!!! No one cares and there really is no one to talk to as it seems even the managers and supervisors are deaf tone. The Filipinos are very nice... but NOT HELPFUL at all. It is like they just read from their computer prompt with every statement you make. My question is: WHERE AND HOW DO WE GET A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT?! $3000 fridge should last more than 3 yrs! I have a small fridge that is 21 yo and has never had a service call and still works! My in laws have a fridge from 1978 that STILL WORKS! Wth?! Junk!!!

We purchased an LG refrigerator with bottom double freezer and french doors
We purchased an LG refrigerator with bottom double freezer and french doors in 2011. Four years in - we had trouble with the food thawing in the freezer and ice maker stopped working. A repairman through LG came out and did a repair and fixed it. As soon as the warranty was up (Jan 2016) it happened again. We were given a choice - pay $294.50 for a 1x visit and 60 days coverage of the same issue or $444.05 for 1 year warranty for any problem.Since we figured this was a big problem, we went with the $444. The repairman came again and flushed the system - started working again. 5 months later the same thing happened - he replaced the compressor. Still under warranty. Warranty expired in July 2017 - Oct 2017 the same thing happened. LG will not do anything about it because its not under warranty even though its the same problem from the beginning. Now Im faced with a non working refrigerator and a decision of paying a huge amount to get it fixed or moving on from a 6 year old refrigerator. Never will buy LG again.

We bought the above LG washer new at Best Buy on 3/16/14 along with an extended warranty. It wasnt delivered until 3/29/14. We ran it for ~2 weeks when on 4/13/14 it began spraying water all over our floor from the bottom right of the machine. I immediately called Best Buy about a return. Their policy is only 15 days. They count that 15 days from the date of purchase, not delivery. (Let that be a warning). So we only had the washer in our house and running for a few days before the return period ended. They would not honor a return and told us we had to go through LG. From there it got much, much worse. Have some patience to read the rest of this and you will get the true feel for LGs Customer Service. Pray you never have a problem. You can see in the attached transcripts that the repairman that came out basically saw a non-fixable problem and tried to the LG to condemn the unit. LG wouldnt do it as they saw it as repairable. Our repairman said all other companies he deals with would take the repairmans recommendation and replace the unit. He warned us that LG is different and that they would fight tooth and nail to not have to exchange the unit. Afterwards, I contacted LG customer service on the phone and was placed on infinite hold two times. I finally resorted to the chat room option. Read the transcript to get their idea of customer service. We had been without a washer for 2 weeks at that point and LG did absolutely nothing to help. No replacement, no loaner, no stipend towards a Laundromat, coupon, or even an apology. What we got was we have 30 days to fix it per our warranty and it sounds inconvenient for you. There was zero attempt at trying to appease us as customers. The 2nd round of parts came in, and sure enough as our repairman said, they didnt solve the problem. It was now 4/29 and we are livid to still be without a working washer after spending over $800. He provided them copies of our receipts and LG stated they would start processing an RA (return authorization review). We were told we would hear from LG in a day or so. A few days went by, I tried calling LG again. No response. Emailed. No response. Finally, managed to get hold of a Customer service manager. They told me they had 3 days to process an RA. I told her it had now been over a week. She didnt know what to say. She also stated they didnt have copies of our receipts. They did, but I resent them again. Now go to the next email string.Today, my wife called again. LG said they didnt process anything because they didnt have the receipts. I had to provide them a THIRD TIME. We were then told it will take 3 working days or more to process the return through Best Buy and about another week to 10 working days before they will arrange for a replacement unit. That does not count time for delivery. They still dont care and wont help in any way. So we are looking at being without a washer for about 1-1/2 months or more. We are still scrambling to get laundry done. I will be looking to get the photos taken by our repairman showing the gap in the machine and post them once received.Consequences? My wife has been traveling 20 miles each way to her mothers house ~2-3 times per week to do laundry. A few times she has gone to a local neighbors house. I have had to leave work early and take personal time to travel 30 miles (45 minutes) on 3 occasions so far to deal with the service calls. Hours spent on the phone and the Internet trying to reach resolution. Inconvenience. Frustration. Strained relationships with relatives. A mess on our floor that I had to clean up. About 1-1/2 months without a washer after spending $800 on what was sold to me as a supposed functional unit.

Do not waste your money on the washer, and do not bother getting Home Depot
Do not waste your money on the washer, and do not bother getting Home Depot extended warranty. Both are useless. LG doesnt want to know anything after only 1 year. Extended warranty states that it is not a covered service, so why the extended warranty? Just to get more money out of you. Washer has defect - seal gets damaged and they state it is not a mechanical problem, even though water is leaking due to the seal hole. The rep told me the seal just keeps the door closed, but the washer is working fine. The seal gets damaged due to a manufacture defect. They know this and so it is not covered. I searched many reviews and complaints are all the same. Do not bother purchasing LG products. You get no help in correcting their defects!

We purchased an LG side-by-side refrigerator in 2011. The model was on sale. I wish I had seen the negative reviews here before purchasing! The ice maker often sticks (the water position). In the cube position we most often get crushed ice and few cubes. I find access to the on/off switch for the ice maker very inconvenient; a drawer - on which we keep ice cream containers - must be removed to reach the switch.. an awkward arrangement. And if we remove the ice drawer, getting the metal rod that protrudes from the back into the correct place can be difficult. Our experience hasnt been nearly as bad as many listed here, but I definitely would not recommend the LG to anyone.

Bought the one Kelly Ripa advertised - should have known better - absolute pile of crap. The most expensive in the store at the time. Two years old and I am on the second control board. But that repair failed and after 9 weeks without a fridge I am now FURIOUS! I get back from a weekend away and find that now the freezer has failed and my floor is flooded and all my food ruined. The repair guy is on his way. But last time it took two months for the board to arrive. If it is anything else that needs replacing then that is another two months... absolutely PATHETIC PRODUCT AND PATHETIC BACK UP. As you can tell... I am extremely unhappy and frustrated about this disaster of a product. Yes, and it looks terrible also. The stainless steel is all marked with drips that will never come off.

Repair guy just left after I was charged $238 for the repair. Mind you it took him less than 3 minutes to put a new ice thing in. What a sham. You pay almost $4000 for LG appliance and dont expect them to stop working in a year. Beyond pissed. It sucks. Might as well just bend over. Why dont these major companies warranty their products better? You know why is because they know they will break. LG is banking that your appliances make it through the 12 months then they can repair it. Well you should have bought the extended warranty? Really? I could barely afford the appliances and they want me to pay more to insure LGs faulty products? Really? Im insuring LG? How messed up is that? LG refer LFX25973ST serial number 505TRJL34580.

We had our new fridge for about 2 years before it started not keeping things cold. We called for a repair. We have the extended warranty through Home Depot. They called right away set up an appointment, repair guy showed up said the cooling fan in back was going and possibly the compressor, he would order parts and be back. 2 weeks later he came back replaced the fan but did not replace the compressor, he said it was a costly and Timely repair and that the fridge is working fine now.2 weeks later we woke up in the morning to find water all over the kitchen floor and our floor buckled. We have the LG lfx229766s with fuel ice makers so there was a lot of water. We called customer service on 7/1/20 it is now 7/12/20 and we cant even get service to call for an appointment. When you call for service you get someone with broken English telling you that the service company will call, which they dont. Bottom line is that I bought the fridge and the warranty from home depot so I called them. They called the warranty and got the same results. They did offer to loan us a small fridge if we pick it up. So we still are without a fridge with no end in sight. DO NOT BUY AN LG FRIDGE OR EXTENDED WARRANTY or youll be in the same fix and dont expect any help from Home Depot.

The LG-WM3997HWA washers drain system is bad and the dryer doesnt dry! I spoke to a couple of LGs support people and the first one sent out a repair person because the machine doesnt dry. The repair person found nothing wrong. I called again because the machine still didnt dry and LG was again going to send out a repair person... I then called the repair person and he said these machines never dry and that if he came again, he would just check the specs and the specs were correct. So I called LGs support people again and this time the lady told me that the machine only dries to 90%. In point of fact, it doesnt really dry. I tried it using half the wash load and I think that after hours of drying, it was wetter than when it first came out of the wash. I now have to buy a dryer. I have been trying to dispute this with Goedekers the company that I purchased this machine from, but their policy is once its delivered, its yours. It makes no sense to me at all that they sell a washer/dryer that doesnt dry. I have used these kinds of machines in Japan and they work perfectly. It does take hours, but the wash comes out dry at the end and you dont have to remove half the wash to get it that way. Also your design for the machines drainage is horrible. To have the water drain out so close to the floor makes no sense. I used a flat tray to catch the water, but it is virtually impossible to control the flow and most of the time, it makes a mess. This is probably the worst appliance that I have ever bought. At this point, I now have to buy a dryer to put on top of the machine because the reason I bought it in the first place is because my laundry room is tiny. The point is that they should not be selling this machine and the public should be warned not to buy it.

I purchased this LG refrigerator on 7/9/2014 delivered it on 7/15/2014. From day 1 the fan made terrible noise. Called LG 2 weeks after I bought and they make you do that self diagnosis. The customer service person on the other end after being on the phone for 55 minutes tells me there is nothing wrong. I hung up and decided to live with it. After about 2 months of that then I started having trouble with the ice maker not making ice again. I called to be told to do that diagnosis then they tell me that I dont have enough water pressure for the ice maker but it worked with the water pressure to that day. And they tell you if they come out and its what they said they will charge you for the service call. Well again I gave up. A few more months go by and now the freezer will not freeze my food and I lose a whole bunch of food. I call. They send someone out that tell that I am leaving the freezer door open but they replace the grill assembly in the freezer that lasts for another month. Again the freezer stops freezing and they send someone different. Same thing is told to me. Im leaving the door open but again he replaces the grill assembly. Well that only lasted a month. Now the freezer, ice maker and the fridge are all not working. I call again on a Thursday. I have lost everything in the fridge and freezer. They call the repair guy who cannot come out for 7 days. He shows up to tell me he now needs to replace the main board and defrost control and that will take 3-5 more days. No refrigerator for 2 weeks and LG tells me thats the best they can do. How many times do you have to have something repaired before they give you a new working one?

Linear Compressors - My LG LSXS26326 came with my home when I purchased it. The fridge is less than 5 years old. In the year Ive had it Ive noticed intermittent cooling/ice production issues. If the temp got above 77 degrees in my house, the fridge would struggle to make ice or keep food cool. Then, on Memorial Day weekend, with family visiting, it finally died. I have a homeowners warranty (fantastic investment) that covers all my appliances. Never had an issue on the couple of things Ive had to call them on. This fridge is an exception. After a TWO WEEK long rigamarole between them and LG to determine a) If the fridge was under warranty. (It wasnt. Im not the original purchaser, as I tried in vain to explain to all parties.) b) Who was going to pay for what (warranty company, all of it). The part is perpetually back ordered. There are so many of these compressors that are failing, they cannot make them fast enough to replace the failed units. Even the replacements are failing within a couple days/weeks/months/years depending on your luck. Today is June 22, and I am, just today, getting my fridge fixed. This process has been an absolute nightmare. And I have a future failure to look forward to. All I can do is cross my fingers and hope this one holds out until I get taxes back next year and can replace it with a functional fridge. I will NEVER, EVER, buy anything LG again in my life. And be CAREFUL. These same compressors are used in Kenmore Elite fridges as well!

I purchased the top of the line Steam Front Loader approx. 3 years. ago. My wife and I are the only two that have used this washer, so it was taken care of and cleaned after every wash. I am a Machinist and work on much larger machines, so I know my medals. My wife put a normal size load in and the machine started shaking and smoking. We turned it off and opened the door and smoke filled the room. I contacted LG and explained it to them. They told me to take the machine apart and send them pictures. I did. Man was I shocked to see the cheap metal they use in their machines. It was so corroded, rusted, and full of mildew. When I went to pick up the part it broke into, in my hand. I didnt use any force on it whatsoever. With the RPM these machines put out, if we would have left it on, and it broke someone would have been badly hurt or even worse. I learned my lesson from LG. They do not service what they sell, they dont return phone calls, they will lie to you in a heartbeat. I also learned to read reviews before I purchase again... NEVER ANOTHER LG. I have learned most people that write reviews tell it the way it really is.

We purchased an LG front loading washer, WM2101H, almost 3 years ago. I thought the bad smells from the washer was our water (we have hard public well water). Reading the reviews, I can see I was mistaken. Just recently our washer stopped spinning. We called out a repairman who told us that is would cost $850 to repair and oh, by the way, only $205 is covered under warranty. It wasnt just one thing. It was the seal that broke which caused the motor to get wet? I dont remember exactly the chain of events. I was in stun mode when I talked to the repairman. He said that the washer does really bad with hard water and water softener. Funny, they never told us that when we bought the thing. Im pretty upset! I purchased this washer about 2.5 years ago and my frustration with it began shortly after I started using it due to its poor performance. It is frequently off balance. Even if it only has water and no clothes it will work for a minute or two then stop indicating its off balance. Washing clothes is an all day affair at times and I wash clothes by hand sometimes to avoid using this hated washer. When it becomes off balance it will drain the water out and refill again and again so any savings on low water usage are non-existent. I started a load at 6:00 am this morning and it should have taken 57 minutes. (It is now 7:45.) After my having to adjust the clothes in the barrel several times the machine tells me it needs 30 more minutes to complete which with my experience could actually mean multiple more imbalances and more time.... I truly HATE this washer and would encourage anyone to NEVER buy it.

Options were priority #1 but cost vs options was a big consideration. Loved the steam dryer feature but wasnt a fan of the track record that front loading washers have with having to be cleaned regularly. However, thats been a minimal issue since we purchased them two years ago. Brand reputation and capacity is a plus as we have 2 kids and very busy schedules. Our need is to do large loads fast. So far thats been the result. Regular repair and low quality construction would be instant turn-offs for my wife and I. But we likely wouldnt look at anything that would fall into those categories anyway. We have the two red LG front loading washer and dryer set with the steam dry option. Were able to load the washer up with large amounts of clothes regularly and wash them quickly, and we actually saw a drop in our water bill after we brought them home. We opted against the pedestals, but were reconsidering that thought as they are a little short for a guy who is 63 and does his own washing. So far, not a single major issue.

After contacting my repairman he advised me he could not repair the latch as he was barred from buying replacement parts. All attempts to have the matter resolved ended in a dead end with their customer service department. After several inquiries I was made aware that I could purchase the part from their certified parts distributor. I purchased the part and my repairman was able to install it. None of the local authorized service techs had anything good to say about LG. Updated on 07/26/2019: If you look at all the negative reviews youll see that LG has not closed any of the complaints. They all are listed as resolution in process including mine. After my refrigerator died for the second year in a row I wrote my first review here but since LG wont respond I have to write another review in order to finalize my original review.Heres the latest on my refrigerator. The company that I purchased it from (ABT Glenview IL.) came out first thing in the morning and replaced the freezer fan and main circuit board. The unit worked for a while but during the evening the freezer was not cooling and the unit temperatures started to climb. I monitored the temperatures and called the service manager (Ryan) at ABT back and we ran through some things to see what was happening. I unplugged the unit and after a few minutes plugged it back in. The freezer fans kicked back on and the unit started to cool. A few hours later I checked it again and the freezer temperature started rising again. At this point I once again removed everything from the unit and put it in the loaner unit they gave me in.I called the next day and spoke with Ryan about what happened and he scheduled to have another service technician come out the next day to look at the unit. When the technician came out the first thing he said was the freezer fan was not running and had no explanation why. He unplugged the unit and they plugged it back in and the fan started to work but he could not say how long it would last. I spoke with Ryan later that evening and fortunately ABT is a reputable company and they offered to buy back my unit. We talked about all the costs involved and what could be done on the new unit pricing. The next day I went to ABT and purchased (at no cost) a new GE unit similar to the one I had and it was delivered yesterday 7-15-2019. They took back the LG unit and from what I was told it was sent to the scrap yard.I have to say that at least ABT stood up to their end but I can not say the same for LG. When I called LG about the unit I was told someone could be out here to look at it July 20th. While I was going through all this with ABT, I received a call from a woman (through a company the LG had gave my information to) who could barely speak English wanting to know if I wanted a service call. I cant tell you the name of the company because I couldnt understand what she was saying. I told her that the unit was being replaced and I would not need a service call.Hopefully I will have better luck with my new unit and can put this mess behind me. As for LG products I have to say I am extremely disappointed at how this turned out. This unit cost $1800.00 and should have lasted a long time not a few years! Here is the unit information for your records. LFXS24623S S/N 505MRZLMQ173 purchased 7-6-2015.Today 7-26-2019 I received a call from LG asking how the repair was working on my refrigerator. I told the person that the unit was in the scrap yard and was not being repaired. I dont think she really understood what I said and wanted to know if I was happy with the unit. I again told her that the LG piece of junk was in the garbage because it couldnt be repaired. She asked if I purchased a new LG unit and after I stopped laughing I told her I would never buy anything from LG again. She said she was sorry for all my trouble and if I needed any more help I could contact LG. I again told her that I will never buy another LG product and personally I feel all their appliance are junk. SO LG WHY HAVENT YOU REPLIED TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW. I sent you the message you requested on July 17 2019 but yet to hear back from you!!!!Original review: I have an LG LFXS24623S 24Cuft French door refrigerator that was purchased in July 2015 and this is now the second year in a row where it has died. Last year August 2018 the unit needed a complete seal system repair which took two visits to complete and now less than a year later July 2019 the unit is dead again and needs a new freezer fan and main circuit board.Luckily I purchased an extended warranty when I purchased the unit so this years repairs are covered but now Im going into year 5 and will have to purchase another warranty to cover what will inevitably be another repair next summer. This year I lost over $300.00 in meat and other frozen items but my warranty from the store will only cover $200.00 of it, so now Im out $100 plus the trouble of having to deal with the mess of melted ice cream in the freezer. Anyone thinking of purchasing an LG product should be made aware to find another brand to purchase! Read the reviews people their products do not last and they even know about it but still are producing garbage and selling it.

Sears said it would be an easy conversion from Natural Gas to Propane. Sears ordered the conversion kit and it arrived two days before the LG dryer. The problems began with the single half page instruction page. The details as to how to access the dryers internal parts dont match up with the dryer I ordered. When I explained this to LGs customer service rep he replied that its a generic dryer and we dont encourage homeowners to do the LP conversion no matter how competent they are as general contractors. Cant help you, but to ask you to take the dryer to Marina, CA to our nearest appliance rep. Why couldnt they just suggest it go there first before delivering it to my home?

This is the worst machine I have ever owned! It cannot get through a single cycle without an error being displayed and the washer shutting down. It takes hours to do one load of laundry. Will never buy one again.

Lmx25988sb. After only 2.5 years this piece of junk has broken compressor. Nobody within 300 miles of Taos NM will touch it for repair as all refrigerant needs to be evacuated. Warranty only covers part and not labor. Customer service has been useless after hours on the phone. Will never buy anything from LG again.

Had this machine for 10 months. Lid gets locked with wash inside, does not always spin out water. I have had clothes come out 1/2 wet, the other 1/2 dry. Today I ruined 3 pairs of pants. I washed a load of white and used the bleach dispenser (Dont do It). It did not dispense all the bleach. The 2nd load seems to be ok. The 3rd load of dark clothes, 3 pairs of pants are bleach stained. I have also had strange spots appear on clothes. They werent there when I put them in, I have had to rewash multiple items because they do not come clean. Also using a stain or spot remover is a must. Want my old machine back. It might have been old but it got my clothes clean.

Lg is a big brand that they have quality products. I love LG appliances better than I like the phones. I have the lg stainless steel fridge that has double doors. I feel as though the company gave us a great item! The item was thought out and delivered in the best condition available. We love the fridge, it holds so much stuff and blows pretty cold! We have plenty of storage for produce and frozen. If I would update anything it would be the size of the fridge. We love big spacious fridges. Again, you get what you pay for.

Purchased this washer (WT1101CW) January 2014. Its been two years of rebalancing accompanied with numerous draining and refills as this machine struggles to complete a load. Have had a technician visit us three times and he made sure the machine is level, has a new board with updated firmware and still we have problems. Even more telling is the fact that a tub clean cycle (water only) cannot finish without the machine stopping to display UE. Ive given up. For a quick wash our neighbors have let us use their washing machine. In the meantime my solution is unfortunately to move to a different brand of washing machine.

I have an LG French Door Refrigerator LFC25760SB with bottom drawer freezer. Today we discovered that the 2 light bulbs have been staying on even though the doors are closed and the plastic enclosure was extremely hot - both light bulbs blew out at the same time. Now I have read all about this and find out this has been going on in these refrigerators for years and a class action suit was filed and has been settled and closed. Yet we have never had a recall notice or a notice of the lawsuit even though I registered our purchase with LG - so we have no recourse and are stuck with a $1,700 refrigerator with no light inside - not to mention we had to have new tracks put in the freezer door in the first month we owned it and the door still doesnt go in and out smoothly. I would never buy an LG product again - they are complete junk!! And companies will do nothing for you!!

I bought an LG refrigerator in Sept 2016, it failed April 2019. I have been without a working refrigerator for over 4 months. They have attempted to replace the compressor 3 times, 2 of these times they also replaced the motherboard, each time its failed. LG told me that they would attempt to repair 3 times before a replacement would be issued. On the day of the 3rd failed attempt I called and was told that they were submitting the approval for a replacement. After not hearing back I called and Im now being told that each of those repairs fell into the same type of repair and that they will be sending a technician to try something different. Not until today was I offered a $150 credit towards a mini- refrigerator. Im being given quite the run-around, a different story each time I call it seems and Im at the end of my rope. How much time am I supposed to take off work to meet repair men, will they attempt this new type of repair 3 more times, then will they try something new? How long will this go on - a year? A refrigerator should last longer than 2.5 years, PERIOD. They are aware they are selling defective refrigerators. There are class action lawsuits about these compressors. Enough is enough. Send me a new unit or give me my money back.

Bad Service - 38 months old French Door with dual ice makers and the in doo
Bad Service - 38 months old French Door with dual ice makers and the in door ice maker fails. It makes ice but cannot seem to get them to fall when it turns to empty without getting stuck and making a clicking noise. I called LG and they connected me to an LG authorized service center 70 miles away. The service center called the day they were to arrive and asked me how I was going to pay. I asked for an estimate and was informed that ice makers cannot be repaired as LG does not fix ice makers but only replaces them for a cost of $500. The reason that was provided is they are made in Korea. What a bunch of BS from the authorized service center. I just canceled the order for all LG products on the new home going up. I would not take the chance with their product again.

Water dispenser has scratches from usage after less than 12 months of purchase. (Am very cautious when using & cleaning.) Advised not under warranty, due to wear & tear?? Purchasing an expensive fridge One would expect the component to be fit for its purpose. Dispenser has failed to meet requirement as has LG.

Washer is only 2 months old. Clothes do not get clean. Huge amount of detergent residue is left on clothes even after running 2 full cycles. Now clothes and comforters are literally ripping in half. Repairman found defect in the tub ring causing the rips. Neither LG nor Best Buy will allow me to return it for a different model. Im stuck with an 800-dollar washer that cant clean and needs a repair at 2 months old. I will never buy LG product again.

I finally received the check yesterday. I cannot change the rating. None of this was easy. The way this was handled was completely inappropriate. Nobody should have to go through this when dealing with a refrigerator that was recalled and still under warranty. Wait times of 1-3 hours on the phone. Appointments scheduled and cancelled without any notification or reason. Horrible customer service that nobody deserves for any reason. Im so glad its over. This was extremely stressful and I dont feel like I received enough compensation under the circumstances. What bothers me most is you are still selling these defective refrigerators.

I bought my refrigerator in December of 2006. In Feb. of 2008, the light stayed on all night and warped the liner. There were burn marks under light cover which looked like it was melted. Thank God that my repairman, the Appliance Man, is smart and honest. He told me that LG was having a big problem with that refrigerator and that it was a design flaw - A defect in (on) the board and a known defect. He also told me to tell LG that it was unrepairable. Amanda ** from LG agreed to replace it.When they delivered the new one I was told that the new one would not be under warranty -??? It hasnt been a problem since although little teeny nailhead size dents appear out of nowhere. The drawers are cheaply made and all have one problem or another. I decided to write about my experience as many comments in the reviews sound as though they experienced my same problem. Thankfully I have a great repairman that knows his stuff!

My LG bottom freezer refrigerator was 4 months old when it started to emit
My LG bottom freezer refrigerator was 4 months old when it started to emit a chemical odor that permeated the foods and made them inedible. It smelled similar to the smell that it had when it was new that the manual said would disappear a few days after running it and it did go away. I called LG, and they sent a repairman, who opened the door, said he could smell nothing and that was it. Over 2 months, I called LG and I got the run-around until finally they said they will do nothing. I replaced the fresh air filter at 6 months to see if that would help, and it knocked the odor back for a few days, but then the odor just came back. Now, I have a brand new refrigerator sitting in my kitchen that is totally useless. Do not buy this refrigerator.

We have a LG French Door Model LFCS30726S, 2 1/2 years old. Stopped cooling. Called our usual service technician. They came out. Said the compressor was not working. Since the compressor is on a 10 year warranty called LG. The first person I talked to was so very helpful. He managed to set an appointment for 2 days, between 12-5. On that day we were at home entire day waiting. At 4:45 pm I call LG again. The man checks on status. Says the service technician was at his 2nd to last call for the day and would still be there. NO SHOW. Comfort Care Appliance did not call. Just did not come. I call LG again the next morning. They said that the call was rejected and I would have to wait 3-5 business days for another service company to accept the warranty call. My call was then escalated to another level, now the next person at this escalated level was NOT helpful. I got angry at this point. And was hung up on.I called back and was then told that Comfort Care had rejected my service call at 11pm the previous evening, that was 6 hours after they were suppose to be there, and there was nothing I could do but wait for 3-5 days for another warranty company to take my call. We paid over $2,000 for this refrigerator and it was only good for 2 1.2 years???? I must say that the service people who first answer the phones did all they could to take care of me, the person I was escalated to was NOT. I could live without a washer, dryer, stove, microwave, dishwasher, but when your refrigerator goes, you are reduced to coolers and neighbors generosity. It starts to get old after more than a couple of days.
