WE bought LG washer and dryer after building our new home. First time I buy LG and last time. Not only did it smell which I could deal with it by leaving the door open. In December of 2014 it started shaking so bad when spinning. The repair man came and charged me $120.00. The shaking continued and when I called him back he said we had to replace the whole tub, springs___the guts of the machine. Really! For $780 plus dollars. He said after a few years the springs go from round to oval shape and it is a kit, thus the price to replace the whole thing. I said no thank you. I will use it until I cannot stand the shaking and will buy a different brand. This time a top loader. The last one I had last me 17 years and it was a different brand. So I am going back to that brand. After doing some research, I told the repair man I would post this review to tell other women to beware.

LG dishwasher leaked from the start. A service man came to fix and it still leaked. I called again. He was having car trouble and will get back to me. He never did. The warranty ran out. LG was kind enough to do an extended warranty for 30 days. I have been told something different every time I call. I was supposed to have a repairman within 5 days. We declined to have the same repairman. It has been 3 weeks. We’re waiting to put in a new floor and we still have a leaking dishwasher because my husband does not want same repairman. They cant find anyone else to fix it. Valerie the supervisor today was no help at all. She told me I just have to wait over and over until someone contacts me. The extended warranty runs out 3-22 .Valerie told me this morning that I canceled an appointment with another repair man. I have never canceled any appointment. This whole experience has us furious.

It looks nice. I dont ever use convection. The blue color inside oven is pretty but I can’t put foil on it for unknown reason. When I put foil on the bottom rack to prevent drips from falling to the oven surface I think it interferes with the bottom of pizza or bread getting browned. I use a cooktop cleaner everyday on the glass top. The settings are digital. The light on the stove is blue and the matching microwave light is green. I wish that they were both blue.

Purchased two LG refrigerators both breaking down same way. Thought the first time was just defect; now after reading blogs and comments just poor manufacturing. On the first unit 1mth after buying, fresh food storage stopped keeping food cold and freezer stopped freezing. After 3 attempts to fix through LG, I refused a fourth try. They refused to exchange. Home Depot absorbed the loss and exchanged the refrigerator, which they didnt have to do. Now 2.5yrs later of course bought LG, like I said 1st time bad luck. Now again refrigerator not cooling, had to throw out food last night and again today and the freezer now not working, of course, warranty expired after first year, and they cant help me. Have 4 kids, can barely afford to buy food and make it last. Now Im throwing it away and cant get help. Why would a Refrigerator stop working only after 2 1/2 years? Poor manufacturing. After checking internet blogs and complaints, found out thousands of customers have had the same problems, have been reported it, and have gotten no help, have to pay out of pocket and have someone come in and diagnose the problem then order the part directly through LG. The company should be ashamed of its self for not resolving a problem like this when families buy their products because of past reputation of being reliable - $1200.00 paid and only lasted 2.5years. Now will cost me between $200.-300.00 for the repair. I will never recommend or purchase another LG product again. Thats why they only warranty their products for 1yr only. For a purchase this big and important storing food and knowing all families and people in general have the use for this item, they would have more integrity.

I purchased an LG Front Load Washer (model:WM2688HWM) on 8/19/06 from Best Buy, for $1,349.99, plus pedestal for $179, 2-pack of hoses for $26.99=$1,555.98 plus $101.14 for tax. My total payment was $1,657.12. In addition, we purchased the 5 year service plan from Best Buy for $199.99. Our total investment was $1,857.11. The unit was delivered on 9/15/06. Exactly 5 years and one month after delivery and 1st use in 2006, on 10/15/2011, our machine flashed tE on the display, and we could not use the machine, and we were out of warranty by 1 month. An authorized LG technician was called, and he came out, ordered a new thermostat, and replaced it on 10/24/11. 3 weeks later, on 11/18/11, the machine stopped, and again flashed tE on the display panel. The technician was not able to come out right away, so a new thermostat was installed on 12/3/11. On 1/31/2012, the machine flashed tE, is not working, and again I am waiting for the Authorized Technician to come. I called LG Customer Service this morning, (1-800-243-0000). The rep I spoke to was very nice, but could only give the answers he is trained to give. I then spoke to a very nice supervisor, who was also well trained to give non-helpful answers to the consumers. My first washer lasted 22 years, and it was not an LG. I never had a service call for a thermostat problem on that washer, but did replace it once on the dryer. At that time we were a family of 6. The children played sports. We did a lot of laundry, but the machine was made well, and I paid a fair price for a product that was predicted to last 20 years, but lasted longer. With all the laundry we did, I would have been thrilled had it lasted only 15. This LG has cost much more money. Our youngest was a senior in high school, and then left for college when we bought it, so basically I have done laundry for my husband and I, who dont get terribly dirty, and the machine was used 2 or 3 times a week. The repair man is now here, and the new thermostat he has installed is still flashing tE. He said he has spoken to the company, and was told that the problem could not possibly be the main board, that it has to be the thermostat. He is on the phone with them now. I will pay for another service call today, but as soon as I send this email, I am going to start researching and determine what washing machines have a better service record. I have been told that LG has such great technology, but what benefit is good technology, if it cannot be incorporated into a product that will work for a reasonable length of time?

Had two LG refrigerators fail within 5 years. The monumental problem is the horrible customer support and the way they try to keep delaying until you get frustrated and just lay out the money for another refrigerator. Planned obsolescence and they charge quite a bit. They should not be permitted to sell in the USA. I have been calling for our most recent refrigerator failure and they told me to wait by the telephone. They would call me on Monday and that was ten 10 days ago so I call and each time I call they state they are trying to find a service person and it shouldnt be that hard in a large city. Many times they promise you everything on the telephone in order to get a good call in review then do nothing about the request for help, totally manipulative. The current one that failed, I might add, in about 4 years.

LG Front loading washer - I spent $1,200 to get my clothes to smell like mildew. I have no satisfaction getting through to LG online or Best Buy where we purchased it. As with other folks, we have to leave the door and detergent tray open so guess what, the whole house smells of mildew when you walk through the laundry room. I will probably junk this machine because my conscience, unlike those who run the LG Company, will not allow me to sell it to someone else. No stars is the rating for this useless, stinking washer. LG had better step up to the plate or cancel this product line.

I bought this LG Gas Slide In Stove Model LSG4511ST from Home Depot online
I bought this LG Gas Slide In Stove Model LSG4511ST from Home Depot online on Feb 17, 2018. Within a few weeks of barely using it all five burners on the stainless steel stove top were corroding with rust. We just spent a ton of money remodeling our kitchen and were excited to get our first and new Slide in Gas Stove. Well the nightmare began. We contacted Home Depot and they referred us to LG. Home Depot wouldn’t speak to us. We paid $1300 for the stove. After many calls, chats and emails to LG customer service and their executive office they replaced the entire SS stove top and all five burners after SIX months of hell with them. They didn’t show up, excuses, no response to emails, no call backs - HORRIBLE company. Then within a short time after they replaced parts it started corroding AGAIN around ALL FIVE burners. The calls, chats, emails to LG started again and this time they don’t respond at all. I tried Home Depot also and they will not take any responsibility. Nothing! I am sitting here with a defective ugly stove in the middle of our brand new kitchen. I am now forced to sue them. I filed a complain the US Bureau of Consumer Goods a month ago, was assigned a complaint number and “investigator” name and email and they don’t respond either. I have tons of documentation of this nightmare and photos. The icing on the cake is I wrote a review for the stove on www.homedepot.com and they “rejected” it. They didn’t want the public to know the truth about a product they sell!

I think LG refrigerator owners who are experiencing repeated compressor problems should file a Class Action Lawsuit against LG for a full original purchase price refund and subsequent repair and warranty plan costs incurred for inferior product design and manufacture. Our LG French Door Refrigerator Model LMXX30776S/01 is also experiencing compressor failures. Purchased in February, 2015, the original compressor was replaced in September, 2016. Now, August, 2017 that compressor is also failing. Temperatures continue dropping in the refrigerator, freezer, and mid drawer sections even though I continue lowering the temperature set points. The ice maker is also producing small cubes at a very slow pace, and they begin melting and forming refrigerator icebergs. My wife purchased the Warrantech Extended Warranty through hhgregg. Recently Wil, the LG repair tech from Fredericksburg, VA, was at my home to service the unit. He measured temperatures, low and high side line pressures, and voltage. He cleaned some dust from the back of the refrigerator and left. He said he could not stay and further monitor the unit because it went into the defrost cycle. He told me to call him after a day or two to let him know if I was still having problems. I called and left a message on his phone. I have not received a return phone call. The temperatures continue to drop. Refrigerator performance continues to deteriorate, and $3,000.00+ has been wasted on a extremely poor product.

Gas Range LSSG3016ST - I have owned this range only 3 months, but I am very frustrated with the moaning whistle noise that comes from the unit the entire time the oven is in use and for 15 minutes or so after the oven shuts off. I thought maybe when it was used a few times it would stop but it hasnt. It is not horribly loud but loud enough I can hear it throughout the kitchen and it really gets on my nerves. I would think for a $2000.00 oven it should be quiet. I am talking with customer service and will write another review per their response. As of this time I am not a happy camper and think this will be my last LG purchase.

I purchased the pricey LG French Door Refrigerator back in June of 2013 and have had NOTHING but problems. The ice maker jammed constantly and leaked out onto the floor. The bottom freezer compartment stops randomly, spoiling all the contents. I have had repair folks out three times now. And LG is of no help. They now tell me that they will not cover anything because I am past warranty.I am so disappointed in their (lack of) any customer service. They do NOT make it right and I HIGHLY warn anyone from purchasing an LG appliance. I am now working through my credit card company to try to get some repairs covered or hopefully a replacement. An unreliable refrigerator is not OKAY!!! I have completed the form for the Class Action Lawsuit but Im concerned that will only result in pennies on the dollar (if anything) for the lost food items and me left with a faulty refrigerator.

I bought my LG Dishwasher March 2018, within one month the bottom rack which folds the fingers down for large pots, snapped and broke. It took 6 phone calls and 2 months to get a replacement. I was shipped 2 racks which tells you how disorganized they are. Currently I now have a dishwasher which has NO POWER! It is January 2019, so I called and they set up a service call for next week. I just received a follow up call from an LG representative asking me all the same questions that were asked when I called in. I was so frustrated with her as I asked why they are calling me again with questions that were already asked? She then said, Thank you. Have a nice day. Good grief! Where to start... Loading this is awkward. Nothing fits easily without having to adjust the racks. The silverware holder is flimsy and falls apart every time you pull it out. I had to zip ties ours together. It takes more than 2 hours to run a Normal wash. And unless you washed everything before loading, the chances of the load being 100 percent clean is slim to none. You have a better chance of George Clooney and Brad Pitt washing and drying your dishes by hand than you do of getting a clean load out of this machine! You have to use liquid soap. Pods wont dissolve in this machine. Theres a filter. A pain-in-the-butt filter, with a Rubber washer that is to be emptied and cleaned every few days. Plus the spray arms clog.Often... THIS MACHINE REQUIRES MORE MAINTENANCE THAN A BEVERLY HILLS HOUSEWIFE!!! And like a RHOBH, it does NOT work! This is a perfect machine for a Newlywed couple who is despised by a frenemy or scorned mother in law. This machine will drive a newlywed insane. Night after night of unclean dishes. This is the kind of machine that will give a new wife an eating disorder... If you buy this machine, your spouse will not only question your thought process about this purchase, but he will question you. And why he ever dumped Susan for you. He will question all of his life choices with you after a few weeks with this purchase. This machine is that bad. Im serious. I would not buy this machine for Eva Braun as a wedding present. I wouldnt wish it on her. Dont. Just dont.

The machine was bought from best buy, around July 2013, everything was working fine until 11/18/2013 when it started to leak from the bottom of the machine, there was no error code, it just kept filling up with water and leaking out, at the bottom. It continued to leak even after turning the machine off it was a mess it I hope it hasnt ruined my floor, called LG they thought it might be the sensors coated with detergent scum. So suggested I run vinegar through machine…We did, it did not solve the problem. We called best buy who sent out a repair person within the hour. He discovered after removing the back panel that the little clear hose that is connected to the tub and connects to a small drain tip that is connected to in the back of the machine had be pulled loose. The hose did not have a lot of give, so when the basket rotated it pulled it off. He gave it a little more slack, and it seems to be holding but we will see what happens… All in all, the machine has been working beautifully. I do not use any detergent on my clothes and they always come out clean and smelling clean. So when they say you need very little detergent I can see why. We also bought the matching dryer which is also fantastic…I called LG and let them know what Best buy found so they could notate, and make some changes. I will keep you updated on any other glitches.

Ive been a fan of LG products for quite some time. Never had any problems with the electronics and appliances Ive bought from them until now. A few days ago, it stopped making ice and the freezer got warm, but the fridge still worked. I called the helpline and the smart diagnosis feature didnt work. I tried all of their troubleshooting tips but nothing worked. I didnt bother getting an extended warranty because of the trust and goodwill LG had earned with me over the years. Now I have to pay 80 dollars just to have a tech look at it, and even if the parts are covered I could be looking at hundreds more for labor. I waited my whole life to get a water/ice dispensing fridge (45 years) but could never afford one. When my old fridge died in 2016, it was at the same time my stepdad gave us 2000 grand as a gift. We used that money to buy this fridge during a Black Friday sale at Lowes. Not even 3 years later its dead and who knows how much it will cost to fix. Ive never been this disappointed since my Xbox 360 died but Microsoft made it right by sending a new console free of charge. I wonder if LG will be willing to do anything to rectify the situation. If not, I will never buy anything from them ever again, and will never stop being critical of their products and services.

My LG refrigerator started making a different sound about 3 months ago. Now, my LG refrigerators compressor died at 3.5 years old, with all of the contents spoiled and lost. Its been going on 2 weeks to get LGs attention on this matter. This is so un-American to have a refrigerator manufacturer NOT back up their product! Model LFXS27466S. My service technician is all ready to repair it, but processing the authorization letter from LG is stagnant. It appears that obstructing progress with excuses is common from LG, making consumers so frustrated that they give up.My refrigerator is not one of the 60 models mentioned in the class action lawsuit settlement regarding LGs refrigerator issues, but it suffered the same demise. Paul, my service technician mentioned that LGs faulty design causes undue and uneven pressures inside the split-coil system that ultimately ruins the compressor prematurely. $650 labor, $325 parts, $400 in lost/spoiled food from fridge and freezer. Still waiting for a repair. Very disappointed in LG refrigerators, their repair process and support.

By the way while checking out the refrigerator he did tell me the LG is one of the worst refrigerators, all plastic and lots of mechanical problems, that is why he would not become an authorized LG technician.Called LG, got someone I could not even understand, finally got a certified technician phone number called and he comes tomorrow, he will probably need to order parts so thats more to time. Customer service stinks as well as the refrigerator. I will never ever buy an LG item again. I did lose all my food, around 250.00 and the company acted like I was out of my mind for asking. The supervisor said our warranty ran out after 12 months. I advised her that the problem that caused my problem was under warranty and she flat out said, We do not reimburse. I hate them.

The machine was part of a stacked set purchased from Sears in Toronto with extended warranty in late 2012. It was very reliable until 2019 when it was 6 years and 6 months old. It then developed a leak and need a new gasket which was provided by LG under their One Price service (about $280, I recall). Last month it developed a further leak. My wife read the manual and looked for possible causes. She cleaned out the soap dispenser - this resulted in a flood when we turned the machine on.We called LG - we were no longer eligible for their full price service. They despatched a local company, European Appliance Repair. They charged $300 Canadian plus tax (extra because they needed two men for a stacked unit). My wife told them the full story - an initial leak, and then a flood. They replaced a small part. The next day there was a small leak - we were unsure if there was residue from the flood, but immediately contacted LG. We said we would wait a few days to see if the leak persisted. It became evident that it would occur on the spin cycle whenever there was a full load. We rang up and made an appointment for June 22nd. The appointment was then postponed to the 23rd in a message received on June 16.On June 19 at close of business we got a message saying our appointment was cancelled or postponed. It was impossible to get clarification till the new week began. On June 21 at 9.00 we rang and were informed that someone would come that day, and that the cancellation message was an error. However, nobody could come that day, because European Appliance Repair did not recall they had to send two people out. An appointment was made for 3 to 5 on the 23rd, but the same two repairmen appeared at 8 p.m. They announced after 35 minutes that we would need a gasket. We would have to pay for the part and additional labour. They denied that we had told them that we had a leak before my wife cleaned the soap dispenser. We have no idea whether they did not hear what my wife had said or were telling an untruth. It was clear to us that they were in a hurry on both occasions, probably overworked because of the pandemic. We noted that a gasket had been replaced the previous year. Gaskets, we were told, could never be guaranteed because customers often put sharp objects in machines. We spoke to an LG rep. on the phone. He insisted that no further charge would be levied, and that, if we did not get satisfaction, LG would give us an allowance toward a new machine. Two days later we spoke to a woman at European Appliance Repair. They proposed to treat the repair as a separate problem and charge 250 labor plus tax plus the cost of the part (plus, of course, $620 Canadian we had paid for April, 2019 and May, 2020 leaks). They had clearly heard nothing from LG.After this we spoke with three LG reps. (we had difficulty communicating with the first two). The third person with whom we spoke said that a gasket would not normally tear because a few coins had gone through the machine (we do not keep sharp objects in our pockets). Furthermore, he agreed to escalate the issue and get back to us the next day. He warned that the replacement model that succeeded ours might not be stackable with the old dryer, should we decide on replacement by LG. We do not have room to house the units in another way.Naturally enough, nobody from LG did get back to us in 24 hours about our “escalated issue. Today we decided to buy a stackable set made by another manufacturer. We are surrendering a perfectly good dryer - but there appears to be no alternative. On the basis of this experience I would not advise anybody to buy an LG washer or dryer, unless you expect to replace your machine every six years, and to be particularly careful when selecting stackable units.

I like that its energy-efficient, easy to clean, quiet, and overall dependable unlike leading competitors. Fit well in the kitchen, not too tall. I liked the water filter and dispenser inside the refrigerator and the spacious shelving that was easy to clean - made of clear plastic not barred plastic. It was top door freezer and bottom door fridge and did not have enough room. Nor enough room for leftovers or storage which is much needed in families larger than 3.

The front left element of my induction range has stopped heating. The indicator light turns on, but the pot never heats up. It also doesnt recognize when a pot is NOT on the element like the other elements do. I tried unplugging the unit and plugging it back in but it didnt work. This range is over $2000 and has been in use for less than a year. Unfortunately, I purchased it barely over a year ago - a couple months before moving into my new house - which means that that warranty has just barely expired last month. I bought a whole set of LG kitchen appliances for the new house and 3 of the 4 have had problems so far (fridge compressor went out a month ago, microwave plate broke in half randomly while cooking 6 months ago).

Machine sounded as if it was gearing up for take off. LG ran a smart diagnosis over the phone and said everything was normal. I then ran a spin cycle and had the service tech listen over the phone and he said No way was that sound normal. As we live farther than 20 miles from an authorized repair service, our case had to be evaluated for repair or replacement. They replaced it and it sounds much different and improved. With the new machine, the liquid HE soap is not totally dispensing leaving gummy residue in the tray. The manual is not very clear on how much to use for what size load. I was told to use 1 Tablespoon for medium and 2 Tablespoons for bulky loads and that a small amount of water remaining after the load finishes is normal and to wipe it out of the dispenser trays after each load. Definitely not user friendly.

Our LG LFXS24623 fridge experienced a compressor failure at 2 years after purchase. LG shows a 10 year warranty on the compressor however that is on the parts ONLY. I spent $400 for a Sears tech to install the free part. According to the tech he is replacing compressors on LG fridges constantly and there is a class action lawsuit against LG for compressor failures. In addition to the compressor issues, the ice maker is faulty and requires constant fidgeting to make it work. This is another known issue on LG products. The only thing worse than the design/build quality on LG appliances is their customer service. They are in some foreign country, they read off a script, are extremely unhelpful, will not pass you to a supervisor on request, etc. Life is definitely NOT GOOD with LG.

We bought a brand new refrigerator from LG in 2013. No issues for 5 years.
We bought a brand new refrigerator from LG in 2013. No issues for 5 years. Around October 2018, the refrigerator stopped working and the refrigerator leaked water and damaged our floors. We called LG for repair and they said that the compressor is under warranty and we will need to only pay labor, which was around 350. So on October 31, 2018 the compressor was repaired and full service was done my a LG technician. The refrigerator again stopped working on Feb 23, 2019 with a compressor issue. LG gives a 90 day warranty on repairs. So I contacted LG and requested if they can waive any fees related to this repair as I was just 20 days over the 90 day warranty. I got a rude response from LG after multiple attempts to follow up. They essentially said: RULES ARE IMPORTANT THAN CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I was shocked. It was bad enough that a replacement compressor broke and on top of this I had to face this from them. Anyways I got a licensed LG technician to come out and take a look at it.The scheduling of tech visit is another story. 2 different people called me from LG, one saying the tech will arrive on Friday evening and the other saying Saturday morning. The tech himself called and he said Friday evening. I didn’t know who to believe. Finally the guy showed up on a Friday. He looked at fridge, said it’s a bad compressor and said there is a lot of dust, so he cannot repair the fridge. Now am I supposed to open the back of the fridge and clean the compressor? Apparently that’s what this tech expected. He said clean it and then call me. I will not touch it unless someone cleans it.Please note that the same fridge was repaired by another LG tech some 100 days back. After this experience I said I had enough. I just got a used GE fridge. Some 12 days after, LG called to inquire the status. I told them I took their product to a dump, they said OK and were happy that they did not have to fix it. They didn’t even think once to apologize for this or give any compensation for the 2 times I lost weeks of grocery in a full refrigerator. LG sucks !! If you buy LG, life’s gone!!!

I would give this product 0 stars if that were an option. I purchased this appliance 4 years ago and while it looks great, it has been nothing but trouble. We first had an issue about 2 years after purchase - it stopped cooling in the freezer. We lost quite a bit of food but the repair was covered by the warranty. Now 2 years later, the same thing has happened except now it is both the freezer and refrigerator that will not cool. I have lost hundreds of dollars in food and have to take time off from work to wait for the repairman. And to top it off, LG customer service is terrible. I spent nearly an hour on the phone scheduling an appointment, only to have them reschedule for a day later. I am furious. After doing some research, I see that there is a class action suit against LG for just this problem - issues with their compressors. Unfortunately for me, the suit is in California and Im in NY or I would jump on that.

I chose to purchase an LG refrigerator over other brands because this brand had what I was looking for at the time. LG has met my expectations. I would still consider purchasing an LG brand, but I would consider getting a different style. The features that I like most about the refrigerator is that it has a built in freezer, as well as an ice dispenser and water dispenser. I like to be able to have my fridge produce ice rather than going to buy ice or having to make it with a tray. The features that I dislike about the refrigerator is that after a while, the freezer component becomes very noisy when you open it. Another feature that I dislike would be that the ice dispenser becomes very frozen and the ice gets stuck together and I have to break off the ice pieces individually.

Im not too happy with my LG refrigerator after looking into a lot of information and a lot of reviews. Apparently, theres been a lot of problems with their compressors. And it doesnt seem like LG is proactive about going and fixing them because I finally had a problem with my compressor this year. The unit wasnt getting cold at all and we had noticed periodically where it felt like it wasnt cooling enough. We just chalked it up in the air whether it was too hot of a day or too cold of a day, and maybe we didnt have that, we had the house too hot and left it at that. And then, all of a sudden, within three days, it just stopped working.Trying to get LG to come out and fix the issue was like pulling teeth. Apparently though, LG was aware of what the issue was. They didnt give me any problems as far as getting it fixed. But there was a lot of miscommunication internally at LG because they gave me one company that they were gonna have fix the situation, and when I finally contacted them because I hadnt heard from them, they said, We dont work with LG anymore, and I had to call LG and tell them what the company said. So, we were gonna use this other company. It was the same thing. LG gave me the information for that company and I called them immediately. They said some of the same thing. Then finally, the third company was the one that still worked with LG. And then, that had taken almost two weeks to get my refrigerator fixed. At this point, it seems to be running properly. It seems to be making a little bit of noise. So, Im gonna contact the repair people and ask them to come check it out because it makes humming noise that it didnt make before.I have mentioned it to other people and as good friends of mine, they just bought the same refrigerator, and they experienced a similar problem to what we had. And we were told initially, Oh, its probably its seal, it didnt close right. But that was the way our problem started. And six months later, all of a sudden, the refrigerator went bad. But its a known problem with LG. My friends now are keeping a close eye on it.

I purchased my LG refrigerator in February 2017. (Note: it is not yet 3 years old.) I absolutely love the refrigerators features: The 3 drawers in the bottom freezer, the ice/water dispenser and maker in the door, the large, wide door shelves, the separate crisper drawer. (BTW, I still love their design.) The problems with this refrigerator began 2 years after purchasing it. Since then, this less-than-3-year-old refrigerator has completely stopped cooling 3 separate times. We have replaced all the parts in the entire cooling system: the compressor, the evaporator, the filter dryer, and a service valve. It has cost us many hundreds of dollars in labor costs, parts, and food loss. It just broke on us for the last time. We are chucking this lemon and buying a new Not-LG refrigerator. If you look online, you will see a class action suit against LG due to their cooling system issues. LG has known that the design of their refrigerator cooling system is faulty, and they have continued to sell them without addressing their design problems. Once the first year of use is behind you, you must pay for these repairs. In my opinion, LG does not deserve your business. More importantly, you DO NOT WANT an LG! No one wants this much malfunction and trouble.

1) Super-duper energy efficiency is achieved by hard tumbling. I always set up this machine on the lowest possible setting for soil and spinning, yet it ruined a whole load of clothes. Everything made of knitted fabric (read: all T-shirts and all short-sleeve shirts) after one single washing cycle is stretched to the point that it is no longer usable, precisely - became 2 times wider and 2 times shorter. Also, I have 2 regular shirts ruined - the machine tears off buttons with pieces of fabric, and just tears apart fine fabric. I want to underline again - it happened on the lowest soil and spin setting. So, basically, if you are interested in Delicate cycle - it does not exist. All other cycles have no value, since you will get your clothes ruined anyway. The only thing the machine could be usable - washing jeans and soldier uniforms. Towels and linens are okay too, but forget about washing your clothes, any knitted and fine fabric.2) Because it is high energy efficiency machine, you cannot choose water temperature. Well, nominally you can, but in practice it tries to use cold water. In most of the settings except the last one, you will get cold water in the washing tank. The highest possible setting, hot/warm still uses cold water from the tap, and the machine does not have a water heater. So, to get hot water only you have to dance around it, and turn cold water tap off, then on.3) Water efficiency feature does not exist - it has a couple of settings like half tank and full tank. So, if you want to wash a couple of jeans or 4 shirts, you will get a half tank of water, and the tank is huge.Overall - taking into account the price, the efficiency, and the amount of good clothes I have spoiled by the machine - this is the worst purchase in my life.

I WAS in love with my new fridge. The 25 cu ft. capacity is just the right size for my family of 5. (We also have a deep chest freezer for handling all the meat, icecream tubs, etc). The dual ice makers really come in handy when the ice maker on the door cannot handle the load. (Its quite small, so in summer months, or with guest over, you run out of ice quickly). It has plenty of space and looks gorgeous. Flash forward 4 months 2 weeks later... compressor goes out. I call LG about this issue... and the frustration begins. The incompetent reps on phone tell me that the reason my fridge is not cooling is because I have the temp setting at 2 degrees instead of at 0 degrees for the freezer, and 37 degrees instead of 35 for the upper portion. Ok, a whole two degrees will make my fridge cool. Then they went on to perform this gimmicky smart diagnoses that the unit is equipped with. She did not want to sent a technician out because the smart dx told her that there was nothing wrong with the fridge. Meanwhile there is water all over my kitchen floor because all the ice was thawing and melting out of the unit. I called on a wed. On a Friday a certified LG tech came out. Told me the compressor is dead and that it would be Monday before he could repair it. So now I have been without a fridge for days, with 3 young children in the house.I have called LG and voiced the fact that this is unacceptable for a 2k fridge. The rep proceeded to tell me I would only have to pay for service call! How is it that when you are still under warranty you have to pay for the service call? The technician shook his head in dismay. He could not believe what he was seeing. I placed the call on speaker for him to listen to the ridiculousness by the rep. After my unit seemed defective, I went online and have read tons of reviews on LG fridges needing major repair within the year, and am afraid I was sold a lemon. I want a replacement or my money back. They have not contacted me. I have called and have been hung up on. I was also hung up on, right in front of the technician! You think you are buying a nice piece from a reputable trustworthy company, and the fact is all the contrary. I am so disappointed.

We bought our first LG refrigerator three years ago after studying online reviews (not customer reviews, quality reviews) that convinced us LG was making the best appliances available. Those reviews were dead wrong. Our refrigerator made very loud vibrating noise immediately. We had a service person come out within the first two weeks. He ordered a replacement part and came out again several weeks later to install. That “fix” failed. It became increasingly difficult to get LG to respond to our concerns. After a year of complaining pointlessly to LG we went back to the retailer whose immediately agreed to replace the refrigerator, to our pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of accepting a new LG refrigerator on the assumption that our first LG was merely an unaccountable lemon.Wrong. The second LG has been nearly as loud as the first albeit the noise did not start immediately. The vibration built up over time and is now every bit as loud as the first. In reading the customer reviews now, it is apparent that our experience is similar to many others. Poor quality components, extremely poor service, no follow-up. I will never buy another LG appliance and will likely replace this one before we experience some of the leaking and lack of cooling that others have experience. Very disappointed.

I was remodeling my kitchen and bought a brand new range and an over the range microwave, delivered 12/2018, installed in Feb 2019 due to kitchen not being ready. When started using it I noticed some white spots or discoloration on the stainless steel front of the range. As the range worked fine I did not immediately call CS to see if anything can be done about this issue. Then the microwave stop working so I called CS and told them about both appliances and they scheduled a time to come out for the MW but told me they would be get back with me about the range which they never did after a week. When the guys came out to look at the MW I showed them the spots and they tried cleaning them as well. They said Id have to call back in as nothing was scheduled for the range just the MW. They even confirmed that the front face of the range could be replaced a simple fix. I called the next Monday to ask about this again and the first guy told me from what he could see, from a photo I had sent in the first time, it was nothing that can be done about it. So I ask why he thought that from looking at a photo, he said he would get me over to a supervisor. After being on hold for 20 minutes a guy got on the phone and told me that if I would have called as soon as I noticed the spots that they could have replaced it based on a defect but since I waited that there was nothing they could do about it. He said it might be a chemical reaction but I told him Ive only used what was recommended for me to use. I asked them if they could replace the front piece and he said no that because I waited that there was nothing they could do about it. Yes I waited until the MW stop working before I called because the range was working fine. I know that if CS wanted to help and replace one piece that they could have but they punished me for waiting, its not as if I was asking for a brand new range. Ive already have had a few people ask me what LG did about taking care of the range and now I can let them know and everyone know that they chose not to do anything because I was busy and didnt call right away. In summary we have bought LG Fridge and the first time it malfunction in less than 5 years the formal support in Egypt came. They took the malfunction electronic card but never showed up again for more than 3 months and left us with unfunctional fridge. Last week they returned it unfixed to tell us that we have a piece of scrap metal in our home that cannot be fixed by its own company!!! It is a total failure to be unable to fix your own products in less than 5 years for the first time it malfunction. I am searching for a lawyer to sue them.

Awful. This dishwasher has the same problem that I keep seeing from others. Namely that it wont cycle and starts beeping. I clean the filter, rearrange dishes, change the cycle and it doesnt matter. With a very small load it will sometimes fully cycle but with a full load this dishwasher NEVER cycles. This was fairly expensive model and that investment has been flushed away. It was part of a full LG appliance buy and now I have to replace with a different brand. Very disappointing and Ill never buy another LG appliance again of any kind.

I just purchased your $800.00 LG Inverter Direct Drive Dishwasher, Model # LDF6920ST. It does not clean the dishes at all. Im very, very unhappy with your product. The inside stainless steel looks like 7 years old. I have not cleaned my dishes before putting them in a dishwasher since 1992. I cannot believe the electricity/water it uses and how your product - even after rinsing - cannot clean. I feel I need to put an extra rinse to help get the grime off. I have reduced my soap by half and the dishes still feel gritty. There must be something wrong with this. What can/should I do to have a rep come out to see what the problem is?

We bought an LG refrigerator in March of 2017. Its a door in door. The problem we are having is with the doors. The door in door isnt closing and sealing properly. Weve had 5 service repair guys out that we couldnt really speak English and they continue to tell us the door is closing properly which it isnt. When we open and close the other door it ends up pushing the other door open and then that door doesnt close by itself. LG wont give you the time of day. All we would really like is for them to replace this unit and move on. But they dont want any part of it. You spend $2500 to $3000 on a unit you expect to work properly and they could really care less. I would not recommend LG products to anyone.

I purchased a new LG Range and LG Microwave in April 2019 -installed in May 2019. In October of 2019 the Magnetron and motor fan failed and needed replaced. This was serviced and covered by LG. Now come November of 2020. The motor fan and magnetron is failing again... Was on phone with LG for over an hour explaining that this should not happen in a microwave AGAIN in the short amount of time that Ive had it. LG will not do ANYTHING since its out of my warranty period. After a very lengthy conversation with a manager- they agreed to cover the Magnetron part only (then to find out by a service company that these are covered for 8 years regardless). No help on service fee or the fan part being paid for either. The quote to get this fixed is higher than the cost of a new microwave. Very disappointed. My very cheap microwave before I bought this one lasted 10 years. What gives LG? Dont make customers beg and plead for help on a failing product. There is NO way this microwave should fail this quickly. I believe I received a defective product from the beginning. So frustrating.

As many others have stated, if I could provide zero stars I would!!! Do not buy even if other reviews are good. Its not if its when your product will default. Weve had our LG refrigerator for less than 3 years, and bought the extended warranty. Unfortunately, its been nothing but trouble. We are currently out of a refrigerator and LG still has yet to come up with a solution or a reliable repair company. The first issue was the fan in the freezer compartment which was fixed and covered under warranty. Now its the compressor, which for anyone thats not aware does have a 5-year manufacturer warranty that we would not have known until someone told us and it wasnt LG. The company that LG contracted out came to repair (the company actually had horrible reviews online) but guess what folks our refrigerator still is not working and we are at 4 weeks. I would like to add for anyone experiencing issues to file a complaint with the BBB which I just finished. Its too soon to determine if this will help mitigate the process but its worth pursuing. We spend entirely way too much for a product that does not work.

My 4.5 yr old side by side LG stopped cooling sometime Sunday. I had purchased an extended warranty. (Customer service is not what it used to be.) Called the warranty company and left a message Sunday night. Waited all day Monday for a call back. Can you hear the crickets. Short story, didnt get anyone on the phone till Tuesday and was told an appt. was set for Wednesday morning. But I should call the service provider to confirm. Three phone calls and an email later I get a response. Tech arrived Wednesday afternoon. Then tells me, after checking my fridge that I need a new compressor. And that the reason he was late is because he just replaced a compressor on another LG fridge. I thought he might have one in his truck, but no. I would have to be ordered and another appt. would have to be made. I have owned 2 other brands in the past and only replaced them after 15 or more years and I have never had a compressor replaced. Now that the kids are long gone and we decide to buy more expensive appliances, we find that expensive is not synonymous with reliable. BTW LG dishwasher repaired twice in 5 years.Going back to the old yet faithful brands.

I purchased an LG model WM2701HV washing machine (and accompanying dryer) in 2011. In just over a year, the plastic was crumbling into chunks around the detergent dispenser and the writing around the cycle dial was rubbing off. I now have to look at the owner’s manual to make sure I am using the correct cycle because the panel is unreadable. Then, after about a year and a half, I had to replace the drain pump. And of course, I have the smell and mold issue no matter what I use / how often I clean it. So, I have a very expensive, top-of-the-line appliance that I hate. My old $500 top load machine was still going strong after almost 20 years - wish I still had it! No more LG products for me...

In May 2016, we purchased an LG set of kitchen appliances through Costco. We have had nothing but trouble with all of these appliances. The most egregious is the refrigerator. The compressor failed in March, 2019 (note, the fridge was less than 3 years old). According to our user manual, the warranty for the compressor was for 5 years parts but we would have to pay for labor. We contacted the number in the booklet for warranty service using the number listed for using the Smart Diagnosis service. After a very long round-robin of talking to one person after another, I finally was put through to a Smart Diagnosis technician. After many attempts to use the smart phone smart diagnosis, the tech said that it wasnt working (no surprise there. Has it ever worked on any LG appliance?)I finally called a local servicer who sent out a technician. He diagnosed the failed compressor and said he would obtain the part for us per warranty but we would have to pay the labor ($855.00) ourselves as it was not covered under the warranty. The serviceman was very negative about LG and even suggested we would be better off just buying a new refrigerator from another manufacturer. We decided to repair this one so he ordered the part and said he would call when it was in.In the meantime, my husband is researching LG appliances and discovers that LG extended the warranty to include the compressor part AND the labor for the first 5 years of the appliance. We were never notified by LG that a change was made to the warranty. When the repairman called with the part, we had him go ahead and install it. We had been without a refrigerator for a week by that time.We then called LG to attempt to get the $855 back from LG that we paid for the labor. I thought this would be easy. HAH. It is now two months later. I have talked with many different people, sent documentation twice, and all I am told is the reimbursement is under review... Thank goodness we purchased the refrigerator through Costco because the Costco Concierge service has been a great help by contacting LG directly for me. So far, LG is stalling them as well. I will post again if I ever see my $855 again. In the meantime, please do yourself a favor and NEVER buy any LG appliance!!

We bought an LG freezer on the bottom french door refrigerator a couple of years ago. One year later, the computer board went out. It wasnt in the warranty. We had to pay for a new computer board. We had to spend a great deal of money for ice in the ice chest to keep things from spoiling. That went on for 3 weeks until the new board arrived. The LG stopped working again soon after. We had to buy a new one, this time, a Maytag. It was bought Oct. 28 and today, the freezer stopped working. Now it has started up again. Very strange. We had given our 15 year old Whirlpool refrigerator to our daughter when we bought the LG and that old Whirlpool is still working like a charm. Thats because it has no computer board on the back! Why on earth do name brand companies compromise their name by manufacturing these inferior products now and use a computer board? They take no pride in their name. Their refrigerators are made in Korea, not the US, and are made to be disposable. Never mind the expense to the consumer. Can anyone tell me why there has to be computer boards to run a refrigerator? They are never reliable. I would love to bring a class action lawsuit to manufacturers of these appliances and computer boards, but dont know where to start. I am sure everything is made in Korea. Shame on all those manufacturers!

5 years ago, I bought an LG Washer and Dryer set for $1700 at Lowes. After a year and a half, I started getting the uneven load message occasionally. At this point, it does it on every single load, even if its empty. My water bill is outrageous because it just keeps refilling with water. Ive resorted to hand ringing each item washed in order to put the clothes in the dryer. LG will do nothing about it because its been 5 years since I bought it even though I started calling about the problem after 2 years. I refuse to pay $300 for them to come out to check the problem, then additional cost to fix it, since its a well known issue with their washers. It is a manufacturer design issue and cant be fixed. The only reason they are still in business is probably because of maintenance costs to continue to repair their horrible products. Model #WT4870C.

I purchased an LG Refrigerator and has had numerous problems with the product. LG trained technicians has visited my house at least twenty visits. I have lost food products countless number of times, lost time off and wages from work and I still have a product that has cost me $27,000 worth of frustrations and disappointments. No one has offered me a replacements, food lost or lost wages nor have anyone ever returned a single phone call. The customer service is simply terrible, the person on the other end of the phone talks to you with little or no respect. I had to tell a gentlemen on the other end, Dont talk to me in that tone of voice. They even told me I had to write a letter to the higher management to further complain for, which made no sense to me when they have my record of complaints in front of them. The refrigerator has had 3 compressors replacements, an ice maker, the entire Freon system w 5 lbs of Freon, the motherboard and God know what else. I can go on and on about my experience with this product but I dont know if it would benefit anyone or even if it will get posted. I can say I wont stop until someone has heard me. I was looking for a side-by-side refrigerator and most of the manufacturers don’t have the side-by-side still but LG did. The unit also fit where my older refrigerator was perfectly and we got a great deal online from Costco. We figured we’d try it. The space that the refrigerator has is awesome. It has plenty of space and it’s great to have that space. We have 12 grandkids and three kids, and everybody’s always here so my refrigerator fills up fast. It’s been the best refrigerator until we had problems. Our compressor went out and the freezer wasn’t freezing. The day that we finally figured out that the unit was going out, I called LG. I also called Costco because there was a year warranty but Costco also covered another two years. The unit doesn’t come up for three years until October and Costco told me to definitely put a claim in. In fact, they put the claim in for me. Then I had to call LG to find somebody to come out that worked on LG. Then a girl called me up and asked how soon I needed it. I said, Now, and the next morning at 8:00, they were here. They fixed the compressor, which has 10 years warranty, and I didn’t have to pay or do anything. The refrigerator is working perfectly now.

I have owned the LG Inverter direct drive washer and dryer for approx 3 years. I have absolutely hated the washer from almost day 1. The dryer works great no problems. The washer on the other hand I cannot stand. My clothes come out dirtier at times then when they go in at times staining clothes, clothes DO NOT come out clearly not clean. White I have to over bleach and sometimes wrecking the clothes and put them on extra long soaking cycle. I cannot express how much I hate this washer. I would rather go to the laundromat except for the convenience. I wish I would of read the reviews before purchasing. Im glad to see Im not the only one with the same problem - I was beginning to think It was me. When I complained to my husband he just looked at me like I was out of my mind. When you dial the control to hot or very hot on the washing machine the net result is warm water or cold water. We were very upset initially with our expensive LG refrigerator breaking after 3 1/2 years which left us living out of coolers for a week, losing 80% of the items in our refrigerator and freezer due to spoilage. We were finally able to speak with an LG Representative on the phone within 24 hours to discuss the problem and LG came through and stood behind their product by conducting a repair with upgraded new parts and a software update to help eliminate future problems. We had an extended warranty through an authorized LG retailer we purchased from. LG took over the repair order, sent their internal LG Service Direct Technician to our home and conducted the repair. The technician was very professional and highly skilled. The repair only took 1 hour.We were very concerned about parts being ordered and having to wait an additional 1-2 weeks after diagnostic testing. Not the case! Repair was complete on 26 FEB 2020, 6 days after breakage. 5 hours after the repair completion, the ice maker was producing ice, freezer was working, and the refrigerator was cold. Seems like a good repair. I would like to thank LG for their support in this matter regarding our refrigerator repair. We look forward to enjoying our LG appliances now and in the future.

Purchased LG Model LFXS29626B because of good reviews and it had features we desired like 2 ice makers. Worked fine for 3 years then stopped without any signs of problems. Research discovered common failures of the compressors in these LG refrigerators. Contacted LG by phone and using Smart Diagnosis was informed by the technician that the compressor had failed. My worse fear with no extended warranty. LG offered to repair my unit without cost to me. It was repaired the same day, in short time as the repairman came with required parts on hand. I applaud LG for owning this problem, but feel cautious wondering if the new compressor will fail after a short time period. We hope not because up to this point, it has served us well and we like the looks, and features. Previous refrigerator was a Kenmore, which lasted 16 years and cost one fourth of the LG.

We bought a new LG French door refrigerator model LFX28978ST from Sears. The refrigerator is under warranty - 7 year for sealed system and 10 yr linear compressor. We had enjoyed the refrigerator until it stopped generating any cool air in Jun 2016. We had contacted LG support, and LG technician came out 6 times to fix the same cooling issue. Every time the fix only lasted 2 days to maximum 10 days. The LG technician had been telling us the cooling issue is not fixable; however, LG corporate insisted its fixable. LG corporate also said they will continue to fix the issue with no consideration on the number of attempts! Anyone with common sense agrees 6 attempts is more than enough to prove its not fixable! When we suggested there is lemon law to protect consumers from repeated same issue; LG corporate said the law does not apply to appliance. LG corporation does not care about customer satisfaction and does not honor their written warranty. Its unfair for consumers to take this nonsense from big corporation. Where is accountability? It was available in black and in the style I wanted. The size fit our space perfectly. The price was comparable. Our repairman said it was a reliable brand. I like the upper refrigerator and lower freezer with ice maker. Water dispenser inside the refrigerator instead of in the door so there was extra storage in the door. Sturdiness of drawers was a problem. The drawer to the lunch meat tray broke twice. The door didnt always close well even though it appeared closed at the time. Freezer trays could be divided more.

Dishwasher leaks about halfway through the cycle, water comes out the lower left area of the door. Less than a week old. Neighbors who have the identical machine have same issue. Systemic problem Im thinking.
