Maytag Top-loading washer MVWP475EWO - I just want to comment on how engineers have made our washing machines worse instead of better. I had to replace my Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine - and did try a new one of that brand, but had the dealer take it back. It had so little water when it ran and was a piece of junk. Anyway, replaced it with the Maytag and it too has the water saving feature (which I understand all of them do) but I have to put it on the bulky setting all the time to even get the water to at least cover the clothes. The clothes just barely, if at all, actually move! They sort of rotate a little at a very slow speed. Boy, maybe this was the time to try a front loader so the clothes at least moved a little in the machine! I am so disappointed in how all the machines are manufactured now. One dealer told me I would like the Speed Queen, but it would take five weeks to get one. Thought this Maytag might do the trick, but now I'm stuck with it anyway. It does not spin the clothes out nearly so well as my old Cabrio did. The clothes are pretty wet! So, another fine "engineering" feature. I wish the engineers would be the ones that actually did some laundry so they would see how bad the machines are. My daughter has three young boys and there's no way this would clean the clothes for her. I told her she should be glad her machine is still working. The dealer was very nice about it when I returned the other one, but it seems all the machines aren't really made to clean clothes anymore.

Kenmore front-loader washer model 41262 - It uses a lot less water than our old washer which dumped in about 5 gallons of water whereas this washer doesn't operate in a pond of water but merely moistens the clothes as it tumbles them. Wash quality is excellent. It's as quiet as a sewing machine almost. Huge front door makes it easy to wash small rugs. Sears had it on sale for about $550 and that felt good. Stainless tub that won't rust my clothes. High speed spin gets things almost dry right there in the washer.

Even clothes that had stains or very dirty came out clean. No need for second wash. Didn't even have to use the option of extra rinse or heavy dirty. Never had to level it like my top load washer. Never had any issues with it and it's energy efficient and keeps my electric bill from skyrocketing. It's quiet you cannot even tell it's running. It's compact enough but big enough to fit a big blanket or comforter usually had to take them to the laundromat. It wipes clean easily as well. It was more than I wanted to pay but in the long run it's cheaper because it cost my electric lower and my water to run lower. I would recommend it to people.

Bought a LG washer. It leaked. I have 2 different warranties. One with LG and one with Leon's. Nobody wants to replace this machine. It is not even a year old. My insurance company has even said not my fault and paid me for floor damages to the amount of $8314.48 plus my $1,000 deductible. But I still have a broken machine. Never buy LG or shop at Leon's furniture. Their warranty cost me an extra $199.95 on top of the machine's cost. Tell me what good is warranty if nobody stands by it.

17 month old Whirlpool duet washer door lock broke. ($300) repair! Had given my old (13 years) set to daughter when I moved. That set has never had a repair or problem! Why do they keep making things with more bells and whistles we don't need and so cheaply made? Frustrated, annoyed and becoming cynical in middle age.

Just when you think that you're able to do laundry. First, comes the musty smell. So, you clean cycle your HE machine using only the cleaning product directed by the manufacturer. Then, comes the pump being stuck on. Like it still have to drain yet your clothes are soaked but you heard full force of a good drain. Poof. Unplug and kick it. Look on YouTube and discover you should take it apart and clean out some obscure puddle holder & look! You discovered where the sock monster lives...it's gross. Going to start my own business (125.00) to clean these things out. Hopefully not get some kind of fungus from the grossest mold ever. It's Maytag not a Home Depot issue.

I usually do not like to read a long report so I will keep this short and sweet. I have had this washer for nearly 25 years, it has been as reliable as it can be!! I have never had to call for a repair person.

We purchased a top loader Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Washer and within a few short months noticed a mildew-like smell emanating from it. This is DESPITE the fact that we leave the top up the entire time that the machine is not in use, we use hydrogen peroxide and ammonia in our loads of laundry in order to kill any mold present and my husband painstakingly hand dries the interior of the drum after each load of laundry. He also puts hydrogen peroxide in the fabric softener dispenser in an effort to kill the mold/mildew. None of this has helped to mitigate the ongoing mildew/mold odor. We have run across other online reviews which suggest that the Cabrio does not fully drain the water in the washer leading to the potential for the development of mold and mildew. This is very upsetting as we paid a lot of money for the Cabrio and had high hopes for it.

I love the brand. I just do not care for the lock lid on all the new washers. I could do without it. I do not have kids to worry about getting hurt. I'm looking into finding a brand without a lock lid. I just replaced one before this one. For the lid breaking.

Save yourself a lot of time and money, don't buy LG! A very poor product and their customer service is a joke! They do not stand behind their products at all. Our LG Front Load Washer did not make it two years before we had problems. LG said they would be happy to help if we gave them $400. Agree with all the other comments made by consumers. The 1.5 star is generous!
