We purchased our LG linear compressor refrigerator 3 years ago along with a LG gas stove with double ovens. Last year the ice maker broke and the upper oven igniter went out. Now the compressor has gone out on the fridge. It leaked water all over my hardwood floors. Of course everything is out of warranty. Im so disgusted with LG. These appliances were part of a kitchen renovation from Home Depot. Never, ever again!!! My husband was able to fix the oven, but after reading all the negative comments, we are buying a new fridge and tossing the LG. Enough is enough. I hope the class action lawsuit in Illinois is successful.

What a load of bs.. The no wait guarantee is bs... Its been 2 weeks now... Also no one will tell me where or how to file a food loss claim... I used to love any LG product .. After this Im never buying any LG product.

I am going on the 3rd week with a broken refrigerator that is 1 1/2 years old. I have had a service person out from LG two times (yes, it took 3 weeks to get someone to my house twice) and they have not fixed the problem yet. I have two parties this weekend and have no fridge. The customer service is just terrible. When I was looking for appliances I spoke with 2 different sales people who highly recommended LG. What a disappointment. I am so sorry I did not look at the reviews before I purchased 4 LG appliances.

I bought an LG refrigerator (LMCX23746) from Costco in August, 2016. The ice maker stopped working in March, 2020. I paid LG $125 for a diagnosis by an LG technician who told me that a wire in the door is broken. It happened because we opened and closed the French door too many times (2000+). To repair, a new door and control board plus labor will cost me another $625-$875. I called LG and they refused to cover the parts because it is not part of the closed system. The customer service even suggested I slammed the door. I am following up with Costco on this. Even though I wont have an working ice maker in the end, I am not going to send one more penny to LG. Another customer has the same issue with the same LG fridge: **. So if you have an LG French Door unit, try to open the other door more. Or turn the French Door into a Single Door unit because the door with dispensers is dedicated to the ice maker.

I bought a French Door refrigerator in June of 2016. It completely stopped cooling in August of 2018. Called LG who sent me through some basic troubleshooting and gave me phone numbers to technicians that arent helpful. One sound sketchy (answers the phone Hello) and insisted I make an appointment thru a non-existent website or send an email to his Gmail. One said they wont service my town. One has yet to call me back. I called a reputable but non-LG-authorized repair service who said it would cost $1,200 for a new compressor and I would have to deal with LG myself (I think to buy the compressor). Given the reviews about back ordered parts, and lack of authorized techs, Im left to wonder how long I wait for the other technician to call me back, argue in vain with LG or just buy a new refrigerator. Very open to joining a class action lawsuit. I certainly dont make enough money to replace expensive items every two years. Reading up on refrigerators, old fashioned top freezer refrigerators are a whole lot cheaper and fail less often.

This refrigerator is made with weak plastic parts and cheap plastic mechanisms that crack and break after a few months, including the hinge mechanism for the door. I spend over $100 on replacement parts; one of the spare parts that I got in the mail was defective. I have never ever owned a refrigerator that required repair work for the shelves and drawers or any other component. Do not buy LG refrigerator. They are poorly designed and are costly to repair. Additionally, this refrigerator does not hold the temperature well and is not good for storing meat, especially chicken or fish.

I purchased an LG French door refrigerator for my newly remodeled kitchen in December of 2008. During this time, I have had 9 service calls - 8 of which pertained to the water system. Each time, there was leakage in the rear of the appliance which remained undetected for some time since the fridge was built in. When finally discovered water had been sitting on my hardwood floor for days and days. The plastic water tube along the back of the appliance split twice and water valves failed 3 times. After awhile the sitting water eventually seeped into the underlayment of my hardwood floor and wicked its way out and under the floor of the eating area of my kitchen which then warped the floorboards terribly. I now have a warped, bumpy floor, very noticeable and will have to spend $3,000 to have the entire floor redone. After repeated attempts for relief from LG, I was told I had not saved all the broken parts so I had no evidence and therefore they would do nothing. Who saves the broken parts once they have been replaced? NEVER, NEVER purchase an LG refrigerator. Every time a serviceman came over he said Oh ya, LG is no good. This is not the first time I have had water and ice in the door. My last fridge was a Kenmore and never saw a sign of a leak. AGAIN, NEVER, NEVER buy one of these refrigerators.

My wife liked what she saw in the LG refrigerator so I bought one. But the drawers and the shelves are cheaply made. Ive had to replace the drawers in the freezer compartment and the glides on the shelf glide in the upper part of the refrigerator. Those parts are flimsy. But we bought the refrigerator 10 years ago and the refrigerator part of it is working fine. That was until the light stayed on and burned itself up but maybe LG will fix that for nothing.

We bought an LG front loading high efficiency washer a few years ago and it has been nothing but trouble. The maintenance required for routine use is more than one would expect for an appliance such as a washing machine. The machine routinely soils and streaks clothes and has ruined countless garments despite the suggested tub cleaning, wiping down, and costly extra tub cleaner. Additionally, the washer often leaks soapy water into the floor despite the use of HE detergent, meticulous measuring of detergent so as not to overfill. Now I must wash only small loads to keep leakage to a minimum--one of the big selling points was the ability to efficiently do large loads. Over recent days, I have had consistent leaking. I suspect we may have water damage below the floor, but no visible staining of the lower ceiling as of yet. I am constantly washing towels that I have to use to clean up the mess from routine use of the appliance. This product is a lemon. There should be some sort of buy back or trade in for some other, more useful washing machine.

Sadly, we are having similar issues with our relatively new LG French Door top of the line refrigerator. About 6 months ago, the ice maker stopped working. I had to have it replaced -- thought it was covered by Geek Squad protection, but thats another story. NOW it just quit working. No signs or symptoms. Just yesterday it was fine, today everything is thawed. I called LG, tried to trouble shoot over the phone with the smart phone diagnostics which didnt register any information apparently, so I had to call a certified technician. Of course, the ONE that is within an hour of my home, cant even come to look at it for three days and probably wont have the part. The customer service lady did tell me that the compressor would be covered under the ten year warranty but the snarky receptionist for the technician told me only if I have the owners manual and the receipt. Really?? It is clearly a new fridge - ridiculous! Life is NOT good when you have six kids and no refrigerator for a week!

I have the LG refrigerator model LFXC24726S that is identified with the common premature failure of the compressor resulting in no cooling. I inherited this refrigerator when I bought the house 2 years ago, so I had no purchase receipt. The compressor failed recently and I called LG. They said the parts are covered under 10 years from date of purchase and labor 5 years from date of purchase. Since I didnt have the purchase receipt they went by the manufacture date of Sept. 2015. The unit failed and I called on 11/12/20. Just two months over the 5 years from manufacture date. They charged $125 on the phone for service call and another $250 for labor it took to replace the part(which was covered under warranty) to get their fail refrigerator up and running. The frustrating aspect to me is the logic that after large consumer appliance product is manufactured it doesnt get to the end user the next week. How many times do I see even on dry food products that the manufacture date is already at least month ago before it hits the supermarket shelves. I get the sense for large consumer appliances it would be more than 2 months from manufacture before it is purchased by end user. I know this refrigerator was purchased after Jan. 2016 because thats when the prior owners of my house had bought the house and remodel the kitchen, but obviously that could not help sway my case to waive the labor fee. My wife and I love the refrigerator, especially how the ice maker is small and on the door and it doesnt take up an entire corner of top shelf corner and also retains some small shelves on the dispenser door unlike Samsung unit we had in our prior home where we lost top corner shelve space and lost the smaller shelves on the inside of the dispenser door. Unfortunately, we are not going to go with LG for our next refrigerator. It is just too unreliable and I have to pay a few hundred dollars out of pocket for their failed product. Not to mention it took 6 days before a technician can come out.

Very nice fridge, all the looks and gadgets that we (my wife) wanted. But after 3 years the compressor died and LG was a nightmare to deal with. It took ~5 months of tech visits after it completely died but they never fixed it 100%. Despite the 10 year warranty, they just said sorry and offered me to either (1) deal with it or (2) take a check for half the price I paid for it 3 years earlier and void the remaining warranty. So overall were looking for a new fridge now. My advice is DO NOT buy this fridge unless you also are buying a 5+ year warranty through an independent company (big box store) who will back it up, because LG will not.

I have purchased LG front load inverter direct drive 7.5 kg 6 motion washing machine. Although it was quite expensive for me but sales man succeeded to give me belief that it is the best model. After finishing warranty period that is 2 years and after exactly 2 years and 8-9 months machine is giving error. We had register complaint then 4 to 5 times their different technicians came telling various problem. And at last they found but spare parts are so costly so I will not suggest this w.m. for ordinary people who cant afford this regular maintenance of around 2000. If small part is also damage you have to take whole unit e.g. PCB harness for one part of filter PCB. It is really not affordable. Company should provide those small parts instead of insisting customer to buy whole units.

I have experienced the same as all the other consumers with their LG refrigerator pooping out after only a few years. I too am doing the waiting game for having my compressor fixed. I too have thrown out hundreds of dollars in food. All that frozen unfrozen meat right in the garbage. All the water from the ice maker going into my grout. Trying to find somebody to loan you a spare refrigerator. What I worry about now... is even using it after its fixed because what it sounds like is all these people are getting it fixed only to have it fart out and go through the same thing a month later. Im sad because I really love LG..Loved LG. I just bought a brand spanking new LG washer and dryer. Should I worry about that also?

I bought an LG washer model number WT5001C in April 2012. One year, the water pump is so close to the tub that the tub knocked the water pump out of place causing it to cut into the water outlet. This resulted in water being released all over the floor. In trying to get this repaired, I discovered that LG parts are not stocked here in Dallas but at one distributor. And the best case lead time is 7 days to get the new water pump.

Purchased (4) LG appliances from Lowes. The dishwasher, model LDF7774BD has poorly designed racks... glasses and dishes fall over or roll around when you open and close the unit when adding additional dishes until it is full enough to run. I agree with what everyone has to say about these new washing machines. I bought the LG 1101 washer 2 years ago. Chose this model as consumer reports gave it a raving review. After doing a couple loads I felt that the machine wasnt washing the clothes very well - white streaks on dark clothing, dry spots on clothes, not smelling clean at all so I would watch how much water would go into a load - not much! I pulled out a grey dress shirt after a full wash cycle & could see that it was completely dry in certain areas! I called LG & asked them if they were the right people to call or should I have called Sears (where I purchased it). Of course they said I made the right call as they would send a repairman out & because I had the machine for only 2 weeks. I should have called Sears because then I could have returned the machine!Anyways repairman said that the machine is doing what its suppose to do - senses load & puts water accordingly. I showed him a picture of the shirt & he said he understood. He has heard the complaint many times. He said to get around the not enough water issue was to open up washer so it thinks youre adding more clothes so then it will add more water. What a waste of time having this machine is! I have been doing this with every wash load but sometimes I forget because I dont have time to wait for it to start filling. I now put about a bucket full of water (about 10 litres) into the machine after putting the clothes in & then start up the machine. Pretty pathetic that I have to do this to a brand new machine. I absolutely hate my new LG washing machine. Wish I had never purchased it. Its really too bad as I was so excited about getting it as I had never owned a new washing machine before.

I have purchased an LG double door refrigerator about 2 years ago in 2010. Even not the full 2 years have passed, it has started giving cooling problem. Before two months ago I had made a complaint, though the technician has contacted me and visited my house within 48 hours. He said that it requires changing the gas pipe and refilling the gas and that could not be possibly done at home. The product will go to workshop of the company and after that, they have taken approximately a month just by saying the transport man is not there, so we are unable to meet your complaint. I have made calls for a hundred times to them. After it came from workshop, not even 25 days have passed, it has started giving the same problem. At this time when I had made a complaint, they are unable to say again if it is chargeable or not, no proper feedback. I am feeling like I have done a major mistake by purchasing an LG product.

We ALWAYS bought SEARS products, so when the time came to purchase a new refrigerator, we went to our local SEARS store. We bought one with a bottom freezer (LG). Its beautiful, BUT started malfunctioning less than 1 year later (it wouldnt stay cold). After several calls (and hours of being on HOLD) to their customer service department, and answering the same questions over and over, I finally reached a sympathetic rep who actually listened and realized that my fridge was STILL under the manufacturers warranty, as well as the purchased extended warranty. She ordered a replacement refrigerator, and we got it about 10 days later. Two years after receiving the 2nd fridge, that one started malfunctioning! We opted to get the home warranty, but still had to pay around $600 out of pocket. Now, another two year later... here we go AGAIN!!! Same fridge, same issue. But, due to the pandemic, we tried to lower our expenses, and recently cancelled the home warranty. So, again on the phone with SEARS trying to see if there was anything that could be done (like maybe there was a recall on this model). Now some may say Bad luck, but I say CHEAP QUALITY... Do not buy LG or Sears products!! BUYER BEWARE!!

Last Christmas we bought an LG French Door Refrigerator. This past August it started making a noise. My husband called LG. They sent out a repairman and he said that it was not defrosting. He opened the back of the refrigerator, it had a chunk of ice which was making the noise. He replaced the computer board and stated that would fix the problem. On September 7 I noticed the freezing section was not cold. With a temperature gun my husband noted that the temperature was only 32 degrees and according to the computer setting on the refrigerator it should have been 0 degrees. From this point on our nightmare started.Another repairman come out at 8:30 Thursday the 8 in the morning and stated that it need a computer board. It was replaced a second time. At four oclock that afternoon my husband check the freezer. It only registered 32 degrees. From this point on it has been a series of phone calls to LG customer service. My husband even talked to a supervisor on Monday the 12 who stated that the last repairman sent in a recommendation that the refrigerator should be replaced. After more phone calls to LG they now says that they will fix it for a third time. We are at our wits end. We called hhgregg where we bought the refrigerator from and of course their help was minimal. If and when our problem is fixed, I will not recommend LG products to no one.

We shopped around a little bit then it came down to which one we liked in terms of aesthetics. We chose LG pretty much for the features. Its a beautiful refrigerator and I like the visibility of the program, the temperature and those type of things. But our experience has not been good so far. The top part stopped cooling and then apparently, something happened with the ice getting blocked. Im not sure how that actually happened but we had to turn it off and take the ice out. It was a little bit of a pain. But the repair guy was really great and the customer service was good other than the fact that they overbooked the guy to come out that day. He was a little late. Last Friday, I came home with a car-full of groceries only to find that something was wrong with my LG model LFX31925ST. Retrieving my owner’s manual to call for help on my 18-month old fridge deemed fruitless. After being on the phone with what seemed to be an outsourced customer service department for over 30 minutes, the only help I received was My policy says I cant do anything,” which when translated meant I was out of luck. That cool feature where you can link your smart phone for a diagnostic check is only good for the first year. I was told he could schedule a serviceman to come out to check the codes on the door panel for a beginning fee of $89.00. I said I was unable to afford it and hung up. My son went online and looked up the error codes, which this rep refused to tell me what they meant and was not listed in the manual. After further online research, I was able to figure out what I could do and 24 hours later, it was back to working. It was the icemaker fan, which appears to be a flaw in these fridges. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I researched different products 2 years ago when I discovered that my husband was planning on leaving me. I insisted on what I thought was top of the line appliances in the kitchen. So I now have a fridge I cant rely on, a dishwasher that doesnt clean dishes no matter what soap or rinse agent I use and an oven that works but it is a good thing I dont cook much. I am disabled and on a fixed income, so I was hoping that my new kitchen would last me 10-15 years but may get less than 5 at this rate. Dont go by reviews on their website since they only use certain reviews.

In November 2011, we purchased an LG Microwave (Model LMV1813SB). It lost power a month later and had to be serviced by LG. It went out again a week later. An LG service person came out and worked on it again, but due to the LG policy, would not replace it until after four service calls. We had the issue again in March and April and finally they are replacing it. My complaint is the extremely poor policy and customer service that LG has. They would rather have the customer go through the time and effort of not having a microwave, making numerous phone calls to LG and scheduling time to have the microwave fixed. This is such horrible customer service. The time and effort we have had to go through to replace the microwave is more than what the microwave is worth. Here is the icing on the cake. LG has shipped our new microwave but told us that the one year warranty does not include removal and installation. I had to argue to get them to reimburse me for this. I will never buy another LG product based on this horrible customer service experience!

However every person I talked to was helpful, friendly, and compassionate. Still waiting on my food reimbursement & no one called me back to extended my warranty... Without a warranty this would have been more expensive so make sure you get the warranty.

Has been a good product overall. Some of the plastic parts have broken - cheaply made - but otherwise reliable. Has held up well over the last several years but at around 10 years starting to show some wear on the drum suspension from what I can tell. Guess most washers are only made to last at most 10 years. Then when a repairman came to see why it was shaking more than usual would probably be more prudent to buy a new washer than have the old one fixed.

I have had my LG washer and dryer almost a year. It has NEVER gotten my clothes clean, even after repeated pre-treating and soaking. The water doesnt even cover the load of clothes and, besides the streaks of soil and dirty spots, they even have DRY spots on them. How can this be called clean? Even my underwear doesnt come clean and they are delicate but I wash them on hot and regular wash rather than delicate! I have given up and am ready to pitch them even though I have over $1800 invested in them! What can a consumer do when the company wont stand behind their product? I will absolutely NEVER buy anything with an LG name on it again!

The LG washer started making oil spots in our clothes. I learned from a friend who is a technician to apply DAWN dishwasher liquid to the spots and let soak. After washing, if the spots come out, its from the machine. I have to clean my machine once a month with a commercial cleaner that is expensive to use. The problem with the washer is that all the cycles except for the towel, bulky items, and large loads do not use enough water to get the soap out of the clothes. The so-called water saving modes are causing the spots. LG tech service is of no help. The LG dryer lint tray compacts the lint so if you dont clean inside the lint trap, the tray will not go all the way down. I had several clothes that were torn because of this. I will never buy another LG appliance again!

Our $3,500+ super capacity LG refrigerator stopped cooling at the 6 year mark. Several repair attempts have been made in the past month under warranty and at least $2100 in food has spoiled. Weve also spent $370 on floor repairs from water damage leaking from the fridge after the second repair attempt. My fiance and I have been tirelessly working the frontlines 6-7 days a week taking direct care of critically ill COVID patients at hospitals with little time to grocery shop (or sleep) since this pandemic started. For a month now, my family has been eating from our hospitals vending machines or relying on fast food delivery service which has drained our accounts. LGs policy states a maximum of $300 food reimbursement and if our unit is deemed unrepairable even under warranty, we have no option but to pay for junk hauling. After purchasing several high end appliances from LG, this is a huge slap in our faces.

I dont trust any of the side loaders due to the possibility of water leaking around the door seal. Price was discounted for a holiday, from Lowes. Lowes installation bothered me a lot. This washer and dryer replaced Kenmores that were 25 years old, and still running. Quality means a lot to me. I expect these LGs to last at least as long as my 25 year old Kenmores since engineering and technology MUST have improved in the last 25 years. After a year, I am very happy with the LGs. Occasionally, the washer cant balance the load and I have to redistribute the washer contents. Note that the basin spins at over 1000 rpm, so a balanced load is critical. Thats okay. I thought the vast number of washing options were way too many, so too the dryer. But I guess some owners will use options that I dont. The clothes load size is really big. You will need very long arms to reach the bottom of the washer to pull out all the items.

Our LG refrigerator has been going strong for over 10 years. Since our kitchen is small, we were limited in the size of refrigerator that we could purchase. LG fits in the kitchen perfectly and for our family of 2 adults and 2 kids, we are able to fit all of items that we need in it. One feature that we love to this day is its ability to produce cubed or crushed ice. It is roomy and easy to clean. Another feature is that fingerprints do not show on the front exterior, which is great when you have little kids.

LG 7600 top loader does not have the capacity to really get clothes clean. As it drains it leaves a scum which gets left on clothes. In my 45 years I have never had such a poor performing machine. My husbands jeans were dirty and mucky from working out doors. I ran it on the best setting I could find. I took them out and put them in the dryer. There was so much sand and dirt in the filter and the bottom of the dryer. I knew the washer had not even came close to getting them clean. Because it has no agitator, the clothes are only bathed in water so really dirty ones dont come clean. Oh how I wish I had my money back on this machine.

Bought my fridge in June of 2014, the freezer stopped working in July or August of 2014. We have had repairmen visit almost weekly for 3 months. Now both the fridge and freezer dont work and I have paid LG service $225 out of pocket to waste my time. When I call, customer service representatives scold me because my fridge is out of warranty and they often disconnect me. The technician told me that a specialist has to deem the fridge not repairable and when I call to ask for a specialist, customer service tells me that all technicians are specialists. They are great at giving the runaround. Customer Service told me I should consider hiring a 3rd party vendor for repair service (and pay them too). I was provided 2 vendor phone numbers. Thats LGs way of saying we stole your money, stop bothering us. LG only sends repair confirmations if you schedule an appointment online. They hide records of follow up visits and there are no records of repair visits scheduled by phone. This makes it difficult to seek recourse through the small claims process which is the intent of withholding documentation.

As others have mentioned, we initially bought the model based on the positive reviews we found online. However we too have had multiple issues with the knobs being turned on and gas being on without the burners. The knobs are very, very sensitive and a tiny bump just brushing the knobs will turn it on. Our children are teenagers, but we even looked for baby proof covers because we are so nervous around this stove. It has become a routine to check the knobs multiple times and we ourselves have found the gas on at almost every party we have had just because as others have said walking by and brushing the knob will turn the gas on. We have a party this weekend and are using packing tape to ensure that guests dont accidentally turn on the knobs when they brush against the stove. Honestly if I had another $2,000 to drop on a stove Id replace it right away. For anyone looking, stay, far far away from this stove. It is only a matter of time before someones home or self is injured by this stove. I am honestly surprised with the amount of comments that they have not yet recalled or provided a fix for this.

Purchased the largest 110v LG Window Air Conditioner at Home Depot on January 9th 2013. On May 26th the Unit started freezing up. Contacted LG, it took 16 days to get a technician out to diagnose, then 4 days to wait for a new Condenser. 2 weeks later the unit froze up again. Called LG whom sent out the same Technician the next day and he stated it was low on refrigerant. This is a sealed unit that was ice cold on the day of the first repair, but he stated it was not fully charged, so he charged it. Three weeks later the unit froze again. LG stated they would send the same Technician the next day for a third attempt, and that if it could not be resolved they would then replace the unit. I was told the appointment time would be between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. but after having left work early my wife waited there all day for nothing. The technician never called or showed. At 6:05 p.m. I called LG who stated not to worry he would be there some time that night. At 8:15 he showed up. I was there for this visit. I am a 30 year GM Technician and hold both ASE, Robin Aire, IMACA and GM A/C certifications. I watched the technician hook a gauge to the unit and the readings with the unit on was 60psi on the low side. They do not use a high side. The needle never waivered, yet the evaporator was frozen as were the lines leading toward the compressor. He claimed that the evaporator must be clogged. I replied it had been professionally cleaned the first time it froze up in May even though it was only 5 months old. He was adamant the unit could not breathe, so we took the unit outside and with a flashlight removed the evaporator and flushed the unit with a hose and found no debris, no mold, no dirt, nothing restricting the cooling fins. The water was clear and went straight through front to back and top to bottom. This stumped and confused the technician who claimed he did not know what was wrong. We reinstalled the unit and turned it back on and watched it start to freeze again the exact same way. I stated that where the freeze point ended had to be the point of an internal restriction debris, etc. and he stated that it must be a free floating internal restriction but had no idea how to fix it. So he wrote a note saying the system was fully charged and cleaned and he found nothing wrong. I was left with an A/C unit that still does not cool and freezes up. I called LG today, they had previously told me that after three repair attempts they would replace the unit. However today, they stated they would send a different technician who could give a different opinion, then they would consider replacing the unit. I was extremely upset and was beside myself with anger. First I was lied to about the time of the appointment, then I was lied to about third time repair attempt and they would replace my unit. Now I am expected to lose more time at work to be there for another repair attempt when they have failed in the last three to make a repair. There must be another way to resolve this short of buying another unit. I have a three year replacement plan with Home Depot but it does not start until after the year is up and that is still 4 months away, and in the heat of Florida I will not last 4 months with out A/C. This is unacceptable and should not be the way a company treats their customers. I will never buy another LG product and will pursue this until I get some type of resolution, I am just not sure what or when that may be.

Bought LG LMXC23746S/00 around 4 years ago. Quite expensive, over $3500. The sealed compressor broke. This is what the technician said, I wouldnt charge you $600 for the Freon if I know your fridge will get the same problem in 2 months. Another company wont even come out to service. This is what that company said: Sorry, I dont provide this service. I suggest calling LG if under 5 years. If older replace unit. LG is known for sealed system issues. We no longer work on LG sealed system because of their known issues. We cant warranty something that we know doesnt last. Actually, 2 years after we got this fridge, the plastic shelf start to crack and some part broke up like crackers. Well, so much for a 4 years old LG fridge. I bought an LG refrigerator from Sears in May 2015. In June 2019, my freezer stopped making ice. Long story short: an LG technician diagnosed the problem as a compressor/sealed system failure. LG agreed to a courtesy repair but after three visits the LG technician submitted a report to the company declaring the unit unrepairable. Since then, the company has delayed and deflected and made follow up and follow through extremely difficult. I cannot reach a service manager on the phone. I am not sure whether I will be compensated for my losses. I know there is a class-action lawsuit against LG on this very issue. I may well end up joining it. There is no reason why a four-year-old perfectly maintained refrigerator should fail after four years. It should be covered under the manufacturers warranty.

I chose to purchase my LG refrigerator because I got it on clearance at a ridiculously low price at Lowes. I believe I only paid about 400 dollars for the fridge. The original price was over 1000 dollars. I found that to be too good of a deal to pass up. It had enough of the features I wanted at a price point I found attractive. I liked many features of my LG refrigerator. The first thing I liked about it was the color. It was my first stainless steel refrigerator. I also liked that it had side-by-side doors and the fridge was on top. It was cool at the time. I did not like that it needed a special water filter that was extremely expensive. I also grew to dislike the quality of stainless steel it was made from. It was too prone to smudging and the steel itself was too bright. I prefer a brushed or gunmetal finish to my stainless steel.

In April-2019 the refrigerator quit cooling and we lost all of the food that was in the refrigerator. We called and reported it to the company and made an appointment for someone to come and look at it. No one showed up for the day we set the appointment in which my wife stayed home the entire day waiting on.We called that evening or the next day and was told it would be the next week before someone came out because the part wasn’t in. The question at that time was what part was ordered because no one had been out yet to see what was wrong with it. Someone did show up the next week and changed the compressor out. Since then the refrigerator makes a loud noise when the compressor kicks on. We have called back about the noise and someone came back and looked at it and thought he fixed it. It still makes the loud noise and we have called again but no one has come out to look at it again.

Bought top load washer & dryer. Very first load ripped almost new $85 shirt and washcloth half. Called LG and they sent repair person out to view shirt and washcloth. Told to return it to HH Gregg and get a new washer, did so and contacted LG to pay for shirt. After sending tons of pictures, many calls, they refused to pay since I no longer had the original machine (go figure??? Their LG repair person said to return it). Often have to rewash clothes, not enough water, loud, major wrinkles, etc. Then a recall for the machine comes and schedule appointment with LG for repair person to handle recall. They come out, update software to the machine??? and then tell me not to wash anything in the machine that sheds water (waterproof? like mattress covers, etc.). Hmmm. Then he tells me my dryer doesnt dry because there are sensors in the dryer that get coated with dryer sheet film and it confuses the dryer. Oh and the replaced machine ripped another shirt, even though you have to button shirts, pants, and turn inside out!!!! LG washers/dryers dont wash and dry like regular washers and dryers we have all been used to in the past. The new save water costs more water and electricity by having to rewash and dry so many times. LG COULDNT CARE LESS EITHER AFTER YOU HAVE BOUGHT IT! We will never buy LG again and if you can hang onto your regular washer, do so. Its better for the environment and your state of mind.

My reply was metal, so LG told me it may help to replace it with the flexible! LG/Best Buy installed the machine, it is their responsibility to provide the suitable hose. However, was told that they would not pay to replace or reinstall. I was also told I may get more water if I washed everything on the Bulky cycle. Was told we would have to wait til 1/16/2018 for review!!! LG could sell toilet paper; wouldnt buy!! They are not worth **!

Our Washer Model WT1101 ran great for 18 months and we joined the rest of you with the constant UE error message, long wash times, noisy, etc. Call local authorized LG appliance repair service and they immediately replaced the Rotor assembly which is located below the tub. A 20 minute fix, our out of pocket was the service call, $140. Rotor replacement was a warranty fix. Since then the machine runs fine, no issues.

A few months after getting the range, the knobs started breaking. Like a good homeowner, I started repairing them, with epoxy, then tape reinforcement with epoxy and finally... after a while, I just couldnt repair them anymore. The design and materials are just plain wrong! Im a mechanical engineer and I can clearly see the design and choice of materials is faulty. I called LG and after an hour of conversation, they sent me out a complimentary set of replacement knobs, free of charge/ONE TIME DEAL. Well, those broke within 3 months. I called them back, and after being on hold for 45 minutes, the supervisor said, There is no point in continuing this conversation. We will not do anything about the breaking knobs and hung up. This is very frustrating. There has to be a recourse on this. How can we hold them accountable for selling a faulty product? Arent there consumer protection agencies specifically to protect us from irresponsible businesses such as LG?

I purchased stove on 17 August 2016, today as I was wiping off the stove top one with Dawn dish soap and soft dishcloth I noted that a spot on the coating of the center grate had peeled off. It looks as though it will spread. I have not used any harsh chemicals, cloths, or abrasive scrapers. I have only used the center grate ONE time. I called customer service and was told to call the parts people since my 1 year warranty had expired, I would therefore need to purchase a new grate! Also, the oven is almost impossible to clean. It requires repeated applications of water and now they recommend adding baking soda and repeat again for cleaning. This is a horrible appliance. Also purchased LG Refrigerator and Microwave. I can only imagine upcoming problems with them. Customer Service simply tells you what they cannot do. Do Not Buy LG products.

I needed a dishwasher. LG had a whole set of stuff on sale and I thought it looked good. So I bought it all including the refrigerator and the washer. I also use LG phones, so I like their products. Within an hour after the service people left and delivered, I noticed a dent in the refrigerator door. We then had multiple appointments. The guy came out twice and he didn’t have what he needed. Then we had more appointments that were cancelled. Finally, I had one that they cancelled and when I called the vendor that I had been dealing with, they told me that I had to refile my claim. I then got a hold of LG directly and I found out that the vendor had ordered in a wrong door and all this time, they never returned it, so LG never sent them a replacement. So the vendor kept scheduling an install and they expected me to have the door. The vendor was not knowledgeable at all.It took about nine months to get the refrigerator done. But I love it. My favorite feature is that little extra door on it, but the shelving is not adjustable enough. I can’t get them on the height I would like them. And on the dishwasher, the settings are not made for American dishes. It’s small in the rack and certain spaces, and not as flexible as my older one was and it seems to not hold as many dishes, either.

WE bought an LG fridge about 3 years ago. It was pretty expensive so I assumed I would get quite a bit of life out of it. Well the compressor just went out and while looking up warranty it looks like my model only has a 1 year parts warranty. Had I known that I would have probably not bought LG. It looks like the compressor is almost 300 dollars and who knows how much the labor is going to cost. Im may be better off just buying a new fridge. It makes me sick to my stomach to pay almost 3000 dollars for a fridge and only be able to get 3 years out of it.

Fairly new front loader, LG wm2801hwa, opened its door mid-cycle. I had a flooded kitchen and laundry room. When it was discovered, the machine was observed to continuously flooding water out of its (then open) front door. The water valves had to be closed and the machine had to be unplugged. LG was contacted directly and a service man was sent out. The D.G. Appliance representative indicated that the machine had an assortment of problems, including the main controller. The machine even flooded the kitchen and laundry room again, as the payment for the service call was being processed, for he left the valves on after his inspection.I consider this machine new since it was purchesed about a year and a half ago. I expected LG to step up to the plate here and provide a reasonable response. The door on a front loader should never open like that. Much property damage was avoided only by luck in discovering the flood in time, and diverting the water away from wood and carpeted areas. I followed up with D.G. later that afternoon and learned that they didnt bother reporting the problem to LG. I called LG (again) and found no relief, since the machine was out of warranty.

We purchased the LG Smart Drum thinking this was a great investment. It was the worst decision we made. It takes hours to wash one load. It constantly errors with UE no matter what load is in there. Even during the clean tub cycle where they recommend nothing in the washer. We have to constantly reload heavy wet clothes to rebalance eventually have to go directly to the spin cycle and shutting off the water just to get it over with. I am lucky to get two loads of laundry done in one whole damn day.I cant get anything else accomplished because I am babysitting a damn washer. It has caused so much frustration among our entire family because no one can get their laundry done and over in a reasonable amount of time. I am going out this weekend and buying a new washer. It wont be a LG thats for sure. From all the other reviews it appears the washer is a lemon and LG knows it but they dont care. Also, the app they say you can get is not available either. They should be sued for falsely claiming things this washer can do and it doesnt. True balance my butt... this machine is the worst. Buyers beware. You will be sorry.

We purchased an LG dishwasher last year. Since it has been installed, the performance of this product has been terrible. The washing and drying cycle is terrible. I contacted LG, and they sent a repair service 3 times and it is not working better. Now that the warranty is not good anymore, they dont even want to consider a replacement. But it never worked well. It is the worst purchase I ever did and the worst experience ever. I still have many error codes and it is not even drying anymore. They replaced the whole motor after only 3 months. My next step is sending them a legal letter and filing a complaint about their products.

Four years ago we purchased LGs glass top range for $899. Its now 2015 and the largest burner element is already dead. For that amount of money this thing should last at least 10 years or more. They sure dont make things like they used to! Repair of the burner is within the measly five-year warranty (this should have been my red flag before buying), but honestly who wants to go through the hassle? Well probably have better luck fixing it ourselves than dealing with an inept service rep. I realize theyre not the same but my mother-in-law also had issues with her LG television that she owned for only a couple of years. I think LG should stick with cellphones and leave the appliances and electronics to a more capable company.

Beware LG french door fridges where the bottom shelf cannot be cleaned nor removed. My LG fridge that I bought almost 2 years ago (GR-L218ASL) has a bottom shelf that cannot be cleaned between the plastic and glass... its very unsafe (unhygienic) and is a design fault which LG thinks I should pay for. Customer service bad... no integrity, customer is not right and case manager who told me he was the head of LG John, who I can only imagine was Mr. Juno Cho (supposedly) wasnt concerned about bad reviews. Updated on 05/27/2020: After telling me that there was a scheduling issue with my ticket, LG has disappeared again. I had to remind this fraudulent company that that schedule issue has been there now since April 11 2020. They make promise that someone will call me in 5 days to schedule to fix the machine and nothing happens. I have already spent too many calls and emails with this fraud company. I am also questioning how does consumeraffairs.com get paid? As the brand disappears on you after saying talk in private and there is no option for the consumer to ask why or post another comment. I plan to buy another washer /dryer if this fraud company is unable to fix my machine by Friday 5/29/2020 and I have already filed a ticket with BBB and plan to do that Virginia consumer affairs as well. Prior history is below.Updated on 05/20/2020: After telling me to communicate in private yesterday 5/20/2020, LG disappeared again? Buying more time? After officially waiting 41 days and unofficially over 70 days why does LG need more time? Constantly telling your customers to wait 5 days at a time to receive service calls, which is actually 11 calendar days is, to be polite, an unfair and corrupt strategy. Can someone help me get a return voucher so I dont have to wait anymore? LG has proven they cannot be trusted for service and I dont want to spend next 5 years with this cutting edge technology or the horrible service. Looking for someone higher who can make my Life Good as since I have bought LG my Life is Not good without a working washer. 12 days ago David a manager had promised he will personally make sure he calls me today. That didnt happen either. Please understand its not easy to be without a washer for a family with 4 kids.Original review: Bought LG Duet Steam True Balance Model WM3900HBA in December 2019. Was delivered and installed in my home in January 2020. From the beginning continued to give D1, D2 and other errors and within two months completely died of DE error on March 10, 2020. I had bought extra warranty and service from Best Buy but was told to contact LG since first year of service they provide.LG service is horrible. First ticket created with them, was on April 11 2020 they set up a repair appointment, no one showed up. I called back the lady said just wait and expect a call. Waited three weeks and called again several times on the 7th, ladies would not understand English, On April 8th finally got a hold of a rep, asked to be escalated to to a manager which was the infamous Louis. I asked him I need a return voucher. He said they require 3 weeks of suffering before they would return.Created a new ticket and asked me to wait 5 days. On the fifth day no call from LG. Called on Friday they said their 5 days will be on Tuesday (in 11 days). Today, the 11th day, 5/19/2020 called again and first lady hung up on me as I asked for a manager and didnt want to repeat what I have repeated 50 times. Second time got to a manager called David. He told me today to again wait. LG policy is that without any help for 3 weeks they would return. I keep on asking for a return voucher as suggested by Best Buy and LG won’t respond.

I purchase an LG french door refrigerator at Home Depot in June 2010. It has been one year and 7 months and now the refrigerator broke. It does not freeze nor cool off. I contacted LG customer care at 1800 243 000. I explained what happened. I asked to have it fixed or changed for a new one. To my surprise, they claimed they couldn’t do anything. I explained that I had purchased insurance and extended warranty. At the time of purchase, LG claimed it is not theirs and they couldn’t do anything to go back to Home Depot. I called Home Depot. They claimed they couldn’t service it yet. I have to wait almost a week before they send a technician, and they don’t replace any parts. With the game they have between Home Depot and LG, I am with no refrigerator and out of $2000.00 and $300.00 worth of market. My question as a consumer is: who is responsible for these damages? I paid almost $2000.00 for the ** refrigerator and it worked fine until their so called warranty expired. And now they don’t want to be responsible for their bad equipment. I am upset at the fact that the consumers affairs and the better business bureau would allow these companies to sell such expensive appliances which are good only until their warranty expires. I hate the way LG just bluntly told me it is not their problem and there is nothing they can do. How dare they rip off the public like that! A good refrigerator should last at least a good 10 years especially for the prices they are being sold to the public. I paid the price they ask for. How dare they rip off the consumer in such way! And there is the game they play. LG tells me to call Home Depot and Home Depot tells me to call LG. Neither one wants to be responsible for the defected refrigerator they sold me. What am I supposed to do? Get another refrigerator because these two irresponsible companies would not take responsibility and stand behind their damaged goods? I am waiting for your response. Thank you.

OMG. What a runaround, On Jan 14 2018 the unit (LG Armoire door in door 2 year old refrigerator) was not cooling. Spoke to a rep in the Philippines. Advised would contact tech and order part. She would follow up with an authorization code, which also never happened. On Jan 18, 2018, called LG Executive Service in Alabama for an authorization code and was advised would be set up with a Sears repair company. Finally on Jan 25, 2018 the repairman came and guess what - no authorization code in the system and I would have a $700 repair for a compressor which needed to be ordered. His manager would not speak to a “customer“. Finally I called executive service at LG in Alabama again and was confirmed that it was never set up correctly. She did set it up today, Jan 25, 2018. The service tech was now able to order the parts and would call me back with a time and date for him to come back to install the parts. So, going on more than 10 days of phone calls and waiting will continue for another unacceptable time. Stay tuned! This story seems to be repeated in all the reviews. Very sad for such a large company with beautiful, expensive appliances.

I bought an LG gas range model LRG30355ST at Home Depot sometime in 2009, and all the five knobs are all cracked and can no longer be adjusted to low or high. The cost of these knobs are exorbitant and almost costs around 1/3 of the total cost of the gas range. These companies should not be allowed to manufacture substandard parts for their products at the expense of the consumers. Whether they do this on purpose to generate additional revenues, we dont know. But something should be done and shift the responsibility back to companies like LG and make them pay or correct them at no cost to the consumers. I bought an LG 18 months ago when we moved to Dallas. Whatever I try adjusting the feet (no easy task, let me tell you), making sure the machine is stable by pushing the dryer up against it, wedging it against the sink, or adjusting and re-adjusting the load (because the machine stops and tells you to), it doesnt work. I had a Maytag for 13 years with not an ounce of bother, but this machine has been a headache. I usually have to wash the clothes twice because it doesnt spin well; not only due to the balance error message on the front panel, but also because it just doesnt spin fast or very hard the way the Maytag did. Sears have sent technicians out, time and again, but who wants to spend half the day waiting at home for a service call? Not me. Isnt that defeating the objective of a world that wants less time spent in the laundry room? Im going to suffer through the rest of its years and feeling annoyed at it. I will then replace it with my favorite: a Maytag. Sigh. Now, Im about to go reset it so that it will attempt a spin cycle with my quilt, but I know that bed cover will come out of the machine too wet for my liking, and Ill have to put it out in the sun for some time before I can even attempt to dry it. Dont buy LG.
