I bought this WT110CW washing machine at Sears and paid $722.24 including R.I. tax, in December 22, 2014. It is now May 23, 2015. I get a error code E6 that clutch is BAD, unplug machine and call service! I now see the same piece of ** is on sale at Home Depot for $576!! NEVER AGAIN A L/G PRODUCT, when the rating for them was excellent!!

I have a top loading LG TruBalance (ha!) Direct Drive. This is my second machine after replacing the first one with the same problem of unbalanced loads. It takes all day to complete a load because it gets out of balance during the spin cycle... comes up with a UE error code. It tries to refill to balance the load then repeats the same problem. I have read many other reviews that describe the same problem. LG is of no help. I will never buy another LG washing machine and would not recommend this product to anyone.

I had cracked the glass top on my previous LG range as a glass bottle fell out of the cabinet over the range. We went shopping for a similar range and I thought the model I was purchasing was self clean. We were in a family crisis at the time so I didnt do my normal research. I know the sales associate realized I wanted self clean so I really didnt pay enough attention. It was a while before we really used the range as we were out of town with the family situation. I have watched the videos regarding easy clean and LG claims small spots, light soil are easily cleaned after the easy clean cycle. I have run the easy clean three times today to clean light soil and it doesnt clean up with plenty of elbow grease. Ugh. I should also mention my husband has had to take the glass out of the door twice to clean soil or grease. We are retired so its not that we are always cooking.

I spent over $11,000 on my kitchen and laundry product from LG. Overpriced and not worth the money. The customer service is just as bad as their products. Ive had to call numerous times for the dryer and refrigerator. The dryer does not completely dry your clothes because the sensor thinks the clothes are dry and shuts off the dryer and the timer hasnt worked for months. My refrigerator does not stay cold the temperature is currently 76° in my refrigerator. Ive had my products for 3 years and its been a nightmare. To get a service repairman to come out is literally impossible. Please take my advice and do not purchase LG products.

Ive been a fan of LG products for quite some time. Never had any problems with the electronics and appliances Ive bought from them until now. A few days ago, it stopped making ice and the freezer got warm, but the fridge still worked. I called the helpline and the smart diagnosis feature didnt work. I tried all of their troubleshooting tips but nothing worked. I didnt bother getting an extended warranty because of the trust and goodwill LG had earned with me over the years. Now I have to pay 80 dollars just to have a tech look at it, and even if the parts are covered I could be looking at hundreds more for labor. I waited my whole life to get a water/ice dispensing fridge (45 years) but could never afford one. When my old fridge died in 2016, it was at the same time my stepdad gave us 2000 grand as a gift. We used that money to buy this fridge during a Black Friday sale at Lowes. Not even 3 years later its dead and who knows how much it will cost to fix. Ive never been this disappointed since my Xbox 360 died but Microsoft made it right by sending a new console free of charge. I wonder if LG will be willing to do anything to rectify the situation. If not, I will never buy anything from them ever again, and will never stop being critical of their products and services.

I bought an LG front-loading washing machine. Within 2 years, the cycle stopped repeatedly in the middle of a wash. An internal part had broken. I had to replace it at cost. The same replacement broke the next year. I replaced it at cost. That same replacement broke. Same story. I asked myself if it was part of LGs plan to make faulty parts so the consumer would have to pay every year to replace them. After 6 years, the programming motherboard broke (dont ask me what it is called -- it manages all the settings on the machine) completely broke down. The wash stopped repeatedly during a cycle so I had to restart again and again and a 30-minute wash would take 2 hours. Many times it never finishing the final spin. LG said the replacement part would be $150.BUT then they called back and said since the machine is 6 years old, they wont supply the part anymore. They wanted me to buy a new washing machine after 6 years! I told them I would never buy another LG product. Instead I found the part from a third party supplier, and I hope my machine will last another 10 years so I dont have to spend on a completely new machine. My advice: NEVER BUY from LG unless you plan to replace parts every year and replace your entire expensive appliance every 5-6 years. Since they stop supplying parts, you will need a new machine.

I’ve dealt with many terrible companies in my time but never one as bad as LG. I bought a refrigerator with an extended warranty and the compressor (main component) died on me within that time period. Called LG to help. A very friendly agent set up an appointment with me with a company based in NJ called “Rising”. No sooner did I hang up did Rising call me back to tell me they do not service my area and they have to cancel my appointment. This is when the real trouble happened.I called back LG and they referred me to my next two non-existent authorized dealers. When faced with the reality that no one would fix my warranty refrigerator, I sought out my own resolution. Called LG to get an authorization letter for an “outside” repair company to fix my fridge. After 24-48 hours I called back. They told me they had cancelled the request for an outside vendor and made an appointment with Rising service again. I called them again and was told once again that they do not service my area and they intend to keep cancelling whatever appointment LG makes for me. I called back LG. This circle of events occurred again in the exact same order THREE times. I tired to escalate to management and got more runaround. With no refrigeration for a week I finally decided to pay out of pocket and sue them later. Here’s what I found out though. A little INSIDER SECRET - LG does not pay the authorized companies and that’s why no one wants to do their jobs. So take it from me. So far I’m out 3/4 of the value of the fridge in a little over 3 years - do NOT buy an LG product because if it goes bad you’re out of luck. Learn from my mistake.

I bought LG fridge in Nov. 2014. It was dead by the end of June. Im not sure because the reading temp. at the door is still at 37/-2 degrees. I found out it was not working when all my food are rotten in the bottom freezer and smelly in the fridge. I called customer service on 7/10 who gave 2 repair service phone numbers. I contacted them and both didnt have any opening til next month. I called LG again, they gave me another 2 names. I asked if I can call any service that will offer earliest service. She said no because the service need to be LG authorized. I then called 1 of them. The tech came on 7/12 and found the compressor is ineffective. He charged $100 for trip/diagnose. If I have him repaired the fridge he will deduct this charge into the total labor which is $485.I called the customer service again to see if they can reimburse me for the cost of the compressor so I can buy a new fridge instead of paying that much for repair. They said no and at this time they offer me the flat rate repair of $362 for one-time service 60-day warranty or $485/1 year. I asked them if I can use the tech who diagnosed the problem before, they said no because he is not authorized by LG. Thats such a lie (They give me the referral). I asked why not offer me this at first. He said he didnt know. Anyway, I ordered the $362 repair and they charged up front. A confirmed email was sent and schedule for repair on7/17 between 8-12 pm. I took a day off to wait for them. Nobody showed up nor called. I called customer service. After being on hold for awhile, she said the service tech was behind so he couldnt make it.Being asked what will they do to correct it, she said she will send email to higher department to find another service for me. She didnt offer refund nor feel sorry about the situation. I asked to talk to the manager (direct number was requested). I called only to talk to a rep. again, go through all issues again. He put me on hold for over 20 still no response. After reading all complaints about LG. I found out that all issues lead to one result that LG just tried to drive customer around and postponing the solution. I have tried several times to call the supervisor just to wait for 20+. I tried to live chat, after being transferred to repair service dept., I waited there for 30 nobody responded. I emailed them only to get sorry for your inconvenience, we will take your input to improve our service. No problem was solved. Now I dont know what they plan to do on my repair order. No phone call nor email. I think Im going to call the federal trade and general state attorney to report this issue. My first tech told me that dont be tricked by the long term warranty. LG and Samsung parts are very hard to find and easy to break. This is the worst appliance brand and customer service I have ever seen. Im so upset that I spent that much money to buy this crap for over 2 years. I wonder why they still exist on the market. If I can give 0 star, I would.

We move a lot and this is our 4th LG Washer and Dryer set. However the new machines, neither fill properly with water or agitate like the older models and therefore clothes, towels, sheets do not come clean. We were told by LG to use the permanent press cycle as it uses the most water. In addition, select prewash, extra rinse and heavy duty (for amount of soil). All this take over 1.5 hours. It does use a bit more water and clothing is much cleaner but not 100%. All our whites have slowly greyed after using this washer for 6 months. Yes they can advertise that they use less water but they sure cannot advertise that the washer does its job.

We bought our LG french door refrigerator from Best Buy fall of 2016 to be installed in our new home in 2017 spring. Almost 1 year to the date of moving into the house we had our first complete meltdown. All of the food was defrosted and water was all over the floor. We called LG and a technician was sent out days later. They replaced the compressor and it worked for a few months. Then it happened again. We called the same technician and they fixed it again. Now its noisy and worked until about a year after the first fix. Then it defrosted. Again same situation. This time it was 9 days before the technician arrived.By then it had spontaneously started working again so she refused to do anything. We paid over $100 for this. Now 1 month later its done again. We were told this is how its designed to work and there is nothing they can do. If this is true no one should ever buy LG. They design to cost you hundreds of dollars and dont back up their appliances. Cant wait to see how long it takes to get a technician and what they will do or not do this time. Each time we seem to have to pay more money plus we never seem to qualify for the supposed $200 in food recompense.

We got this washing machine just over 4 years ago. The door lock sticks now and I have to turn it off and back on 30 times before the door will unlock so I can get my clothes out. I don’t have time for that. And yesterday, I went to switch my clothes out and the door was locked of course so I just turned the whole machine off and went back to it today when I had time to mess with it. I still had to tap the frame of the door where the lock is about 3-4 times while turning it off and back on. Then when I finally was able to open it, my clothes were still soaked. So I put it on a spin only cycle. 17 min by default then after it judged the weight and distribution, it went to 10 min.I came back a few min later, the number of min was on 7 and it was full of water, rinsing. The spin light was flashing, indicating it was spinning and it was on a spin only cycle. We’re going to have to replace it as soon as we can afford to because they only guarantee their products for a year. I was told by the manufacturer that they’d have to charge me to have a maintenance guy from LG come to my house, evaluate the problem and fix it. Had I known they believed in their products this little, I’d have gone with a different brand. We will not be purchasing LG again.

My LG refrigerator stopped cooling on June 26, 2021, so I called LG customer service to schedule a service appt. The young lady told me that my fridge was still under the warranty. I only purchased it in 2017. The warranty says 10 years for the compressor. They said someone would contact me to schedule an appt. No one called me so I called the number customer service provided. The service agent told me he would be at my house on July 6, 2021, but no one showed. I immediately called customer service back to let them know their people were a no-show, and they did not even call to say they were not going to make it. So the customer service rep. told me that someone would be out to fix the problem in 2 days July 8, 2021. I also lost food trying to preserve it thinking someone would come out in a reasonable time to fix it. In two days another no-show. I emailed a letter to the companys liaison to the president of the company, she called and I told her what happened. I also filed a claim for reimbursement for my lost food. I asked could I get a replacement refrigerator since no one has come out to fix it. The response was I will put in another order for service. They said they cannot replace it, and made a prorated offer for the fridge and an offer for compensation for the food after some negotiating on my part. As it stands it has been a month with no word back from them. I have reached out numerous times, kept all my correspondence with the company. I had to go into debt to purchase another refrigerator because the freezer also went out on it. I have not received a check for the food neither have I heard anything back from the company about a counteroffer for this broken fridge. I only asked for less than $100 dollars more to help toward my other fridge since they said they could not replace it. I will never buy another LG product again. I am still waiting to hear from them and I have been calling 1-888-412-8357 for the RA department to speak with someone, but no one answers the phone. I have waited several times for at least an hour listening to a recording. They dont care about their customers.

I upgraded kitchen appliances provided by my builder 4 years ago & thought I was purchasing quality along with customer service by purchasing the Sears Kenmore Elite manufactured by LG. In 2018, the compressor on the refrigerator went out and it took Sears almost two months to replace. In July, 2019 unit started getting hot; Sears repair service came out, worked from 7pm till 9:45 and said they repaired the unit but the next morning it was still not cooling or freezing. Ive had multiple food loss with no customer satisfaction of reimbursement. Ive called multiple appliance repair companies and all have said they choose not to service appliances MFG by LG because of poor workmanship! I am so disappointed because Ive work too hard to just donate to a mega companys bottom line. At this point I cant recommend any LG product based on my experience. After writing this Im still without refrigeration & no customer satisfaction!!!

1.5 years after buying a brand new LG stove, it broke down. Brand new LG fridge and freezer broke after 3-4 years and we called someone to fix it at the same time, they told us it would be $80 to bring someone in. We agreed. They then told us everything had to be replaced and charged us $400 for that information without a single warning that we would have additional charges after that $80. Instead we were told when repairs are made the $80 would be subtracted from the repair cost except the repair cost was more than a new appliance. STAY AWAY.

Gas range looks great but the plastic chrome knobs are shriveling and are not smooth anymore, maybe from the heat from the oven. I think I only used the oven 10 times since I had it. LG is the worst. WARNING!!!! I was cleaning out my refrigerator and cleaning the glass shelves. I washed the large glass shelf after it had sat on my counter for about 15-20 minutes. I used lukewarm water and soap. After washing it it, I was drying it with a paper towel and it EXPLODED! YES literally EXPLODED not just broke. Glass everywhere! I had glass in my hall way, Glass on my cook top, glass on my espresso machine, Shards embedded in my kitchen window frame. Luckily I had my glasses on because I had shards in my glasses! Could have been my eyes! Glass shards in my lip, my arm and in my hair. My sinks were filled with it and I even had it in my Island sink and Under my Island! I asked my neighbor to help me get it out of my hair and the tiny fragments off my face. I reported it to LG and they did not seem real concerned but asked me to send them photos. Sent photos of my cuts and my glasses and the huge mess this caused. LG called and said Id have to get a technician to come. Id have to pay for it but may qualify for reimbursement of tech fee. Unbelievable. Im still in shock and now scared to death to ever clean it again. This is very dangerous!

This refrigerator is made with weak plastic parts and cheap plastic mechanisms that crack and break after a few months, including the hinge mechanism for the door. I spend over $100 on replacement parts; one of the spare parts that I got in the mail was defective. I have never ever owned a refrigerator that required repair work for the shelves and drawers or any other component. Do not buy LG refrigerator. They are poorly designed and are costly to repair. We purchased a $3000 LG refrigerator in August of 2015, Model LFXS30726S, and it is a horrible design. It fails completely every 16 weeks. The fridge seems really nice, but 4 months later, it failed on Christmas Day. Frost builds up around the fan and doesnt properly defrost, causing it to fail. LG serviced the unit for the first 2 Failures, and now it has failed again. 3 times in 14 months. Lucky for LG, their warranty is for 1 year, and now they will not service or repair the defective unit. This design was flawed from day 1! It just takes 4 months for the fan to wear out. And each time we have to borrow a spare fridge, move all of our food, and wait for service. They even had a service bulletin regarding this issue, and so they replaced the back inside panel which was supposed to fix the problem. Guess what... it did not help at all. DO NOT BUY LG Refrigerators! THEY EITHER DONT KNOW HOW TO DESIGN PROPERLY, OR THEY DONT TEST THEM. I am filing a complaint with the Dept of Trade and Consumer Protection, under the grounds that the fridge did not live up to its intended purpose: Keeping food cold.

I purchased an LG Front Load Washer (model:WM2688HWM) on 8/19/06 from Best Buy, for $1,349.99, plus pedestal for $179, 2-pack of hoses for $26.99=$1,555.98 plus $101.14 for tax. My total payment was $1,657.12. In addition, we purchased the 5 year service plan from Best Buy for $199.99. Our total investment was $1,857.11. The unit was delivered on 9/15/06. Exactly 5 years and one month after delivery and 1st use in 2006, on 10/15/2011, our machine flashed tE on the display, and we could not use the machine, and we were out of warranty by 1 month. An authorized LG technician was called, and he came out, ordered a new thermostat, and replaced it on 10/24/11. 3 weeks later, on 11/18/11, the machine stopped, and again flashed tE on the display panel. The technician was not able to come out right away, so a new thermostat was installed on 12/3/11. On 1/31/2012, the machine flashed tE, is not working, and again I am waiting for the Authorized Technician to come. I called LG Customer Service this morning, (1-800-243-0000). The rep I spoke to was very nice, but could only give the answers he is trained to give. I then spoke to a very nice supervisor, who was also well trained to give non-helpful answers to the consumers. My first washer lasted 22 years, and it was not an LG. I never had a service call for a thermostat problem on that washer, but did replace it once on the dryer. At that time we were a family of 6. The children played sports. We did a lot of laundry, but the machine was made well, and I paid a fair price for a product that was predicted to last 20 years, but lasted longer. With all the laundry we did, I would have been thrilled had it lasted only 15. This LG has cost much more money. Our youngest was a senior in high school, and then left for college when we bought it, so basically I have done laundry for my husband and I, who dont get terribly dirty, and the machine was used 2 or 3 times a week. The repair man is now here, and the new thermostat he has installed is still flashing tE. He said he has spoken to the company, and was told that the problem could not possibly be the main board, that it has to be the thermostat. He is on the phone with them now. I will pay for another service call today, but as soon as I send this email, I am going to start researching and determine what washing machines have a better service record. I have been told that LG has such great technology, but what benefit is good technology, if it cannot be incorporated into a product that will work for a reasonable length of time?

It was more affordable compared to the other brands with the specifics that I wanted. It has add ons, it is also very durable. It has definitely met my expectations with all the bells and whistles. But I wish the organizing bins were adjustable. Temperature per shelf adjustable, a roll out shelf, easy to remove and clean bins, an area where we can put odor neutralizer. That would really be helpful

The first repair for an error code resulted in a non-working fridge for 3 months because the part was on back-order and cost us over $500 to repair. Three months later the freezer is working but the fridge will not cool below 46 degrees. The repair shop spent over 90 minutes on the phone with an LG technician discussing possible solutions. 1 - Replace the main motherboard ($200) plus installation. 2 - Replace the thermistor. The technician did not recommend any of those solutions because there is some underlying issue with ALL of these refrigerators that they are not telling us. I have checked the fan (working), the fuse on the circuit board (good), and the compressor (working). Ultimately, the suggestion from BOTH LG and my repair shop BUY A NEW FRIDGE BUT NOT LG or SAMSUNG.

Bought a LG top load washer in 2013 and I hate it. Its a constant battle with the machine flashing messages and being unbalanced and constantly refilling with water and not wanting to spin. Totally wastes tons of water which we have to pay for living with a cistern and ironically I bought it because it was supposed to use less water, what a joke. I have never had to stand and watch a washing machine until I bought this evil machine. Oh why do I have to watch it so it doesnt waste all our water when it starts flashing the unbalanced code so then I have to stop it and try to move the wet clothes around so the stupid thing will continue on. I wouldnt wish this machine on anyone even if they were my enemy, its horrible. Im going back to a top loading Kenmore with a normal agitator that actually cleans the clothes. The only positive is that I bought the LG dryer at the same time and Ive actually had no problems with that.

I have had this refrigerator a little over a year and the ice maker has gone haywire twice. It doesnt just stop working, no, it starts dumping water when the ice tray is still full of ice and I find a big puddle of water on the kitchen floor, an inch of ice in the dump spout, the ice bin is one solid block of ice. This is the chunkiest, clunkingest, noisiest refrigerator I have ever seen. I have to pull the thing out from the wall and turn the water off to change the water filter. This is the worst engineered piece of junk I have ever purchased and I will never buy another LG product of any kind. We are throwing this $2000 piece of junk away and going out to buy another refrigerator this weekend.

It didnt cost as much as other refrigerators with similar features and styles. Also the place we bought the fridge at had a lot more LG type of refrigerators than any other brand of refrigerators. The features I liked the most about the LG refrigerator was probably that it had an ice maker and water spout built into it with options on how you want your ice (crushed or cubed). I disliked how little ice you were able to get throughout the day considering there are a lot of people in my household, the ice ran out rather quickly.

Bought my LG French Door 11/11/15. Work well. In April 2017 right door start giving problem, not closing. Try calling LG they are the Philippines, no result. All I got is you are out of warranty, I do understand but we do buy appliance every year. This is not right. They make mass production, lots of mistake and cant stand by their product. I was told you have to send receipt to show proof of purchase, then one agent set up a appointment and cancel without letting me took a day off for this. Food going bad, losing energy. LG you should stand by your product.

2 yr old LG French door LMX31985ST/0. Repaired at 16 months (defrost grill in freezer) $300. Repaired at 28 months 4x still not working (1/4/16 to today 2/12/16) error code F ds. LGs response to us was reset the fridge using the breaker from the electrical service box). We did and have had to do for 6 weeks. Repair company replaced at our expense: freezer defrost sensor $175 parts/labor. Main board parts and labor $175. Sensor for fridge $300 parts and labor. So after paying $950 in repairs over the course of 1 year and 1 month the fridge today was dripping water on the floor from the ice maker which we find is NOT WORKING now. No error code even on the fridge!! The fridge is not cooling, the ice maker is not working, and the freezer has thawed everything overnight (so the defrost is stuck on??) So 4 repairs and it is still not working, in fact it is ON but NOT WORKING! LG will do NOTHING like this has never happened before??? So after spending $950 for repairs and $3300 for the fridge in (Oct 2013) we have a piece of junk!

Dont do it!!! Do not invest in a LG Front Loader Washing Machine!! It is the worst washing machine, the most I have ever paid for a washing machine I have ever owned. Here you go: 1) There is a terribly designed trap door at the bottom left where you are supposed to a) clean your filter and b) drain your tub out if pump breaks or any other problem with water remaining in tub. Well, if the tub gets full of water and doesnt drain out, the tube doesnt work and you open the lint cleaner and water goes all over your floor. It is horrible. I really hate this washing machine. Now it is 2 years old and the WATER PUMP had to be changed out. OMG, what a disaster of an investment. Please listen to me: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS WASHING MACHINE.

Spending nearly $900 on my LG washing machine was the single biggest waste
Spending nearly $900 on my LG washing machine was the single biggest waste of hard earned money I’ve ever experienced. This thing is not worth the box it came in. It’s the worst household appliance I’ve ever owned. Since my purchase I’ve read countless reviews saying the exact same thing. It’s not at all unusual to spend between 12 and 36 hrs to actually get a load of clothes washed after continuous malfunctions. We are literally hauling it to the landfill. This machine would be an insult to give to someone else. I will most definitely not ever purchase another LG product. BE WARNED... Do your research and check reviews before wasting your money on any type of LG washing machine. This product doesn’t even deserve 1 star. Customer service is non-existent so don’t waste your time trying to get help, they could literally care less about any problems you might be having.

3 compressors in 6 years. When I first purchased my LG Refrigerator I was thrilled. It was the largest model on the market at the time and I needed that. I loved the organization inside as well. We purchased in June of 2013. Unfortunately, this is where the story goes bad. In Feb. of 2016 we had to have the compressor replaced. It was under warranty but we still had to pay 558.59 for labor. Not even two years later in Oct. of 2018 we again had to have the compressor replaced. We paid 690.00 for labor. AND one short year later, we were again faced with a repair bill for 790.00 to fix a leak in the cooling system and they were going to give us a new compressor AGAIN.When the repairman came to fix the leak, he discovered that the leak was higher up in the refrigerator cabinet and could not be fixed. I am now faced with having to purchase a NEW refrigerator after just 6 years! WHAT??? The expected life of an LG refrigerator is 10-14 years, mine barely made it to half of that and has had to have the compressor replaced twice. RIDICULOUS!!!! I have been inconvenienced 3 times by this shoddy appliance. We paid over $2,000.00 for this refrigerator and then over 1100.00 in repairs! IF we could have actually repaired it THIS time, I would have paid out 2000.00 in repairs! I have a Kitchen Aid refrigerator in my basement that is 20 years old and still going strong, never had a service call on it! I will NEVER buy another LG product. I also have an LG washer and dryer that have both had to have repairs! Life Good is their motto - not in our case - Life has been complicated and expensive because of products that do not stand up to the life expectancy of their products!

Purchased my washer machine 1/3/08. The drum in my washer stopped turning, no warning lights of any kind came on. Called LG and because I didnt get their extent warranty, my washer repair for parts only was going to be $500.00 plus not including labor. I had to use my daughter Lowes card to buy another washer. Having a washer for only 2 year paying $880.11 from Home Depot. Called LG customer services and LG Customer interactive Center. They said my model washer was made in 2006, dont know what that had to do with anything because been made in 2006 and with me purchasing it in 2008, my washer shouldve lasted long then that. Please can someone help me? Dont understand how big company get a way with beating us out of our money and nothing can be done. Angry! There is a defect with this washer!

I liked the compartments, digital screens, extra room and thermostat regulation. It was always easy to clean. The extra compartment gave room to easily organize items. I always enjoyed chillers to use. Any issues were easy to replace. It was a good price and I trust the LG brand overall since I havent had issues with products. It had compartments and better room over other fridges. If I had issues all were covered and I had good customer service.

We have had our LG Refrigerator for 2 years and this is the second repair on ice maker. We have never had a problem with an ice maker. We should have read the reviews before we bought. We are thankful for purchasing an extended warranty but when that runs out we will probably have to purchase a new refrigerator after reading the reviews. LG needs to close up shop because at this rate I cant see sales increasing. Does Home Depot realize the problems with these refrigerators?

I bought brand new DLGX5102W in 2011 (I had a Kenmore that was still working when I replaced it after over 20 years and that was a handy me down - and never had that repaired once but wanted the bigger capacity). Two years later in 2013...the power would turn on but drum wouldnt turn... Had that repaired, costs approx. 300.00 in total... Now the power turns off and the drum keeps going. And LG service dept stinks. They charge 100.00 just to come out to look at it, and then you have to pay for them to come back again to fix it. Doesnt anyone stand behind their product anymore? Oh, and the washer smells... When that breaks, I wont even try to repair it. Think I will cut my losses and buy a different brand, Kenmore.

We noticed LG refrigerator was stopped cooling and freezing on October 10th
We noticed LG refrigerator was stopped cooling and freezing on October 10th. We were told the option would be to repair or refund the cost of the LG refrigerator when we initially spoke with customer service on 10/10/2021, but a service technician would have to come and evaluate refrigerator first. On Oct 25th, a LG refrigerator repair was completed. We were offered a $200 spoiled food compensation which we have not received to date. On Nov 12th, the LG refrigerator stopped cooling and freezing: keep on mind it was repaired 2 1/2 weeks earlier. So, I called LG and requested a refund of the cost to replace it with a new refrigerator. Obviously the refrigerator and/or LG part is defective. The LG rep told me LG would not authorize a refund until another repair was done per LG PROCESS. I asked to speak with a LG supervisor who offered me a 15% rebate towards purchase of another LG refrigerator.I told the LG rep that was absolutely unacceptable, and asked to speak with whoever would authorize a full refund. The LG rep said that her department does not authorize refunds, and could not proceed with my request per LG process. The only option i was given is to set up a second repair appointment on Nov 18th with same service company A&E. I was then told by the LG rep that after the second service appointment, if LG refrigerator is still not working, then they would be able to proceed with a refund request. I again asked for a second spoiled food compensation, and was told this was only offered once a year. Therefore, we would not be compensated for second set of spoiled food. I went ahead and set up second service appointment on Nov 18th, while I figure out our next step. I spoke with A&E to try to get a sooner appointment, and queried whether they were using a new or refurbished part for my repair. I was told the part is ordered directly from LG to complete the service repair. So again, the defect is in the LG parts.

I bought LG washer/dryer from Best Buy and had the 5-year service protection plan. I have had leaking problem and had Best Buy out two times. Two weeks ago, the washer started leaking. I found plastic pieces in cleanout. I contacted LG, who referred me to A&E Factory Service (nationwide). I called and they returned my call on a Monday. I then made appointment for Thursday. They called that day sick, so I had to make another appointment a week later (earliest and now 10 days after speaking with them). I called LG, who referred me to a local company. They came out the following Monday (now over one week). They turned the washer on and said the lifetime warranty stainless steel drum is warped. I said it is hard to bend them, so was it an original problem? They said it caused damage to seal. After paying them for diagnostic trip, he said I have to pay for all labor and any other part, except wash drum. Okay, he approved using washer if I was okay with small leaking. Appointment was set for three days later. I used the washer and it turned into a gusher. He came back that evening and said that drum ripped front gasket. He will pay for that. Meantime, I called LG. They said that drum suddenly becoming warped is not likely, but it could happen. I said it has been this way since we had it. It has always been loud and it vibrated more than our old Maytag but we had to leave it at the old house on sale of house. They said they will cover drum, but nothing else. Tech came out on Thursday (this past) and opened up washer. (Finally, he actually opened to look at all of it.) The drum was so warped that it cut open (gouged) a hole in the outer plastic drum (front section). It had a circular gouge around the almost complete perimeter. He told me that part is no longer available because washer was over 7 years old. It was made in 2005 and I bought in 2006. He told me to buy a new washer. After he left, I called LG who said that part can be bought as an aftermarket part but they do not make the original part anymore. Swell. They gave me names of two parts suppliers. Part is $100 but has to be mailed at an oversize part ($50). I called service company to tell them it is available. They called and placed an order. On Friday, next day, part still was not shipped to them. I cancelled service (now estimated to be over $400) and bought a new Whirlpool set. LG refused to take ownership of problem that was caused by a lifetime part and they admitted that it was likely like that from beginning, but would not say 100%. Theyre out. They told me I should have noticed something not right, even though I had Best Buy out two times. I called Best Buy and they told me their service is a plan not a warranty. If there was a lifetime warranty issue, they would have had LG fix it, not them. Now my problem went on for two weeks with no conclusion, other than me cancelling service and throwing that piece of junk out. The company I called recommended the Whirlpool because it is US made. They said the biggest problem with LG is that it is all Korean or Chinese made and parts are difficult to come by. No kidding. Manufacturer is only obligated for 7 years per them and LG. If you want your machine to last more than 7 years and you paid big bucks for it, look for something other than LG. They will not back up their products in any way feasible. I understand warranties but when a lifetime-warrantied product is the culprit of a major problem, dont blame the customer for not knowing it was an issue, even though a service tech they recommend doesnt catch it either.

I have had nothing but problems with our LG Waveforce top load washing mach
I have had nothing but problems with our LG Waveforce top load washing machine. Since day one, it has been unbalanced in almost every single load. It doesnt matter if its a small load, normal size or large load. It is always unbalanced. Because of this issue, the machine tries to fix itself, which ends up using 2-3 times the amount of water just trying to get it balanced. So, when you buy this unit thinking you will save money of your water bill and that its energy efficient, think again. The 45-minute load ends up taking 2 hours and 3 times the water. Another issue I have had is the pulsator. It just pops off the bottom of the drum in the spin cycle. We have had to fix it multiple times and now is unfixable. We will either need to replace the whole inner part or buy a new washer. I have called LG multiple times with no help at all whatsoever. I wish I could go back to my old Kenmore washing machine that lasted 15 years with no problems at all.

I bought this range 3095st about 6 months ago. Never used the broil feature until recently. Then oven stopped working. Called LG and they sent a qualified repair technician. Wrong!!! The guy was clueless...had to read the paperwork AND call the technical support phone number. He complained about LG being cheap and not paying for multiple visits to repair an appliance! Their technician said he was the only one for the area. Told me the range was functioning. I turned on the broiler several hours later and heard a strange humming noise followed by a loud bang. Range/broiler/oven light dont work at all.Repair technician said it would take a week to receive a new circuit board which I found online for 50 dollars and could have it expedited. Two weeks later no phone call, no oven/broiler/no holiday dinner during Easter/added costs of eating out! Wouldnt you think LG would offer something...hell no they put me on hold when I called them. Bought my fridge in June of 2014, the freezer stopped working in July or August of 2014. We have had repairmen visit almost weekly for 3 months. Now both the fridge and freezer dont work and I have paid LG service $225 out of pocket to waste my time. When I call, customer service representatives scold me because my fridge is out of warranty and they often disconnect me. The technician told me that a specialist has to deem the fridge not repairable and when I call to ask for a specialist, customer service tells me that all technicians are specialists. They are great at giving the runaround. Customer Service told me I should consider hiring a 3rd party vendor for repair service (and pay them too). I was provided 2 vendor phone numbers. Thats LGs way of saying we stole your money, stop bothering us. LG only sends repair confirmations if you schedule an appointment online. They hide records of follow up visits and there are no records of repair visits scheduled by phone. This makes it difficult to seek recourse through the small claims process which is the intent of withholding documentation.

The oven temperature is not accurate. Have to turn on all the burners beforehand so the temperature is not way too high. Sometimes it will work properly but more often than not it is too hot. The igniter on the right hand side of range (in front) will turn itself on and keep on until we unplug the stove. I think this is a fire hazard. We purchased an LG WT4970CW washing machine in August 2014 from Best Buy. Shortly after using it, I noticed some of laundry would be dry on top, especially sheets. Sheets would be pulled tightly across top of drum and be completely dry - obviously were not touched by water and detergent. Then, on subsequent loads, the machine kept giving error message: UE which means the load is out of balance. Machine shuts off in middle of cycle and you have to open the lid, pull the laundry out and rearrange it, close lid and machine turns on again. However, during one load, this happened up to six times and it took me four hours to complete one load of laundry. I dont stand by the machine while it is doing its job, so when I would expect the laundry to be done, I would go to my basement only to see the UE displayed which meant it wasnt finished.I had a repair person come to my home last week (10/2018). He called and spoke with an LG technical support person. He explained the problem and was told I was doing the laundry incorrectly. The LG agent told him I have to wash only like items at one time. In other words, if I have a load of jeans, tee shirts, polo shirts, mens underwear, socks, I need to sort the clothes and wash the jeans separate from the shirts, separate from the underwear and socks!!! The machine goes out of balance almost every time I wash two bath towels, one hand towel, and one washcloth along with a nightgown and some underwear. The LG agent said I should only be washing towels (up to six bath towels) at one time and nothing else. This is not how REALITY works! It would take me a full day to do the equivalent of two loads of laundry. It would also defeat the purpose of the water-conserving feature of these new machines. I would need to do six tiny loads of laundry in place of my normal two loads. Also, I do not have enough clothing to wait until I have a full load of just underwear so it is a normal-sized load. I dont even have enough pants and shirts to wait until I have a full load of just pants to wash. This machine is only 4-1/2 years old and I have to replace it. I also bought the extended warranty, but was only offered a one-year extension for parts only. Of course, the warranty expired in August 2016.The repair person said there were no parts to replace or would make sense to replace, because the cost of the repair would be almost the cost of a new machine with no guarantee it would fix the problem. He told me my complaints are very common complaints he has heard over and over from his customers regarding their LG machines. The repairperson highly recommended I buy a Speed Queen TR7000 which works almost the same way my 35-year-old Maytag washer worked and it comes with a seven-year materials and labor warranty. Cant wait to give the LG machine the heave-ho and get the Speed Queen machine! I will never buy ANY LG product as long as I live.

We had our 7 year old Lg fridge die on us. We were offered a rebate if we bought another LG fridge which we accepted. The new fridge did not work but LG would not accept this for several weeks so we were without full use of our new product. After much hassle we finally received a new fridge in Aug. 2014. We have not received the rebate and are told each time that we call (speaking to a service rep in Panama) that the check is in the mail and we will have it in a few days. This is going on for the last 4 to 5 weeks. Our original rep, Mohinee **, quit taking our calls and will not respond to emails from us. We asked if we could speak to someone in Canada to see if our check has actually been mailed and were refused access to a Canadian rep. We then called information for LG electronics Canada and were given the number 416 743 7575. We have made 3 calls and no one answers at that number. LG certainly has our number and our money. I would not buy another LG product if I was paid to. Customer service is terrible and their products just dont last and are faulty at the very beginning.

I purchased washer and dryer (LG waveforce topload) from Home Depot last year and making such a big purchase was quite scary. I could not more disappointed!! As I write I am going into 3 hours on 1 load of towels and a few baby items! We bought the LG LMXS30776S refrigerator in early 2017 and it was working okay (it did make louder than expected noises most of its short life) until December 15, 2019 when we woke up one morning to a trail of water on the floor and all of our food ruined. We paid for someone to come out to tell us that it was a dead compressor and to contact LG for a replacement part.An LG tech came out and replaced the compressor, and while the freezer worked, the fridge portion remained at room temperature. He came back the next day to fix it again, but the fridge did not get below 42 degrees. An LG contracted appliance repair company then came out and determined that new parts (fridge evaporator and another compressor) were required. They returned a week later and replaced the compressor again along with the fridge evaporator, but after they left nothing worked at all.The LG tech came out again and got fridge half-working again (still does not go below 42), but the freezer is still not functioning. LG tech now says we can get a new fridge due to multiple visits, but the LG customer service says their tech needs to say it is not repairable and why and the tech is not willing to make that call for us. We have now initiated the replacement request process three times (each time takes 3-5 days) the first two times weve waited a week only to find out they messed up the paperwork and had to start again. Weve been without a fully functioning fridge/freezer for over 6 weeks. Weve wasted hundreds of dollars on food that got spoiled. The LG refrigerator is an utter disappointment, as is their customer service.

Have finally narrowed down the clothes washing machine that would best suit
Have finally narrowed down the clothes washing machine that would best suit our family needs. Our choice was the LG 5680HVAS. Unfortunately, or actually luckily, my wife decided to dry run the washer by attempting to simulate retrieving clothes once washed. She discovered, at 5 3, she could not reach the bottom of the tub. We then went on to investigate the Maytag designs as well as the Samsung, and GE. We did not review any others. It appears that all of the HE designs have incorporated a physically taller design to facilitate the deeper drum. Bottom line, if you are 5 5 or physically shorter, dont buy one of these machines as you will be greatly inconvenienced every time you use it.

While this refrigerator seems to have everything as youre reviewing it, it absolutely SUCKS! Not only does the product suck, the service on the product sucks. You seen $3k on a product and you would like to think that the degenerates that sell the thing might have an ounce of human decency in them but they dont. DONT EVER BUY AN LG PRODUCT!!! They want your money, they couldnt care less about you.I have this piece of ** refrigerator and the ice maker always (in literal terms: 9 days out of 10) freezes up and you have to pull out the ice maker, stab the chute with a knife to break up the ice cluster and it spreads the ice cubes all over the kitchen because it takes force to get it out. You have to cut in the tiny gap between the pull-out device and the door to sever the ice dam, then pull... to the point where you think the plastic will break... the ice maker out. It explodes in a shower of ice cubes that fling all over your kitchen. All that water/ice is wasted, you are MORE THAN PISSED OFF constantly and you never have access to anything but floor-ice. I would never recommend any product by this manufacturer because they simply dont care. I was told...You bought it. Figure out how to use it the best in your house. Also, their water filters are ridiculously priced. I hope the manager of their support catches dick cancer and dies in front of his own mother.

Very spacious with lots of labeled compartments make it easy to find things
Very spacious with lots of labeled compartments make it easy to find things. Very contemporary design so it matches my kitchen decor. The freezer is located on the bottom which leaves more refrigerator room to store cold food and beverages. The water is filtered and ice can be cubes or crushed for drinks. Shelves are easy to remove and clean. The stainless steel is modern look and easy to keep clean. Overall I love the product. It matches my microwave perfectly. Designed very well. I dislike the temperature. Sometimes it gets too cold and freezes my refrigerator items and also there is an annoying sensor that beeps to let you know the door is open. It is a good and bad thing because it makes sure you remember to close the door so that food wont spoil but also its a bad thing when you are loading groceries and need the door open for a long time. I chose LG because it is a brand I trust and I know is high quality and durable to last me and get my moneys worth. I have other LG products so the purchase was inevitable and yes it has met my initial expectations.

A month ago the compressor on our LG French Door refrigerator model# LFX31925ST/00 died. It is still under LG warranty. Frequent calls to LG customer service only get another customer service representative that says they understand but are unable to do anything because. Each has a different because. Tonight, one even stated there was no record of us ever reporting a problems. Others have said the parts have been shipped to the technician a week ago, but the technician hasnt seen them. The technician called them and they said there was no record of the parts being ordered, even though the technician gave them the order number. This is an example of a complete runaround with no apparent intent to fulfill their warranty responsibilities. Or it may just be an attempt to defraud senior citizens. We are an elderly couple that lives in a very rural area. We must keep our medicines cold. Daily trips to town are out of the question.

I kind of feel bad, because I just read the other reviews, and my complaints are as bad as theirs. However, I am so anxious about whats to come. My story is Im heartbroken at the purchase of this LG refrigerator model# LMXS30776S. We used the money that my mom left us to buy it, and we went to Home Depot many times, looking at the refrigerators to pick just the right one to remember her by, and decided on this LG door in door, December 2016. From the very beginning, the door in door would not open, and would not close properly. We gave it some time, but called in less than a month old. In January, they came out... one of the repairmen said to man -up and dont open it and close it like a girl. When we told him it doesnt open or close, like in the multiple stores we tested, he said, he didnt care about the stores, to give it time to wear in like the stores. I told him I did care that it worked like the refrigerators that I tried out. Again, he said to give it time.We waited for 2 or three months and called another repairman. He came out and basically said the same thing. He said he had the same refrigerator, and it did the same thing. I said, And your wife is willing to put up with this? He said, you get used to it. We waited almost a year and called another repairman from Home Depot (our LG warranty was up.) He came out and said since nothing was broken, he could not fix a door that would open, even if it didnt open correctly. He couldnt fix a rattle in the door or what I thought was the motor, because essentially everything was working (the right temperature, motor not stopped, door opened etc.)He told me thats the way warranties work... things have to be broken, not just not working right. Over $3,000 is a lot of special money to spend on a refrigerator that doesnt work right, but wont be fixed. LG definitely does not stand behind their products. I will not ever buy an LG again, and I so wish I had read the reviews before buying - AND, like I said before, am so nervous now for whats to come.

Absolute nightmare dealing with this company. Our refrigerator quit cooling
Absolute nightmare dealing with this company. Our refrigerator quit cooling, common issue we found out. LG sent out repairman they determined it was the compressor, replaced it, still wasn’t working. They sent them out again and it was replaced a second time and still didn’t work. The repairman deemed it unfixable. We were told if it was deemed unfixable we would get reimbursed for the fridge or a new one, they had us email them our sale invoice so they could get us a new fridge. That was a lie. They sent the repairman out again. They had them replace every part in the fridge and guess what it still doesn’t work. Our refrigerator has not worked for 4 months, they have sent their repair company to our house 8 times. That is 8 days of missed work waiting on them to get here and work on the fridge. We have been told by a few of the customer service people on the phone that this case is getting escalated. Well it hasn’t. We have been told that if we were without the fridge 30 days it would get replaced that was a lie, not fixable it would get replaced also a lie. So we call them once again to let them know it isn’t working and now they say they can’t send someone out until January 7th. That’s another month without the damn fridge. We are beyond fed up with the poor customer service and absolute lies we have been told. Do yourself a huge favor and do not buy from this company.

LG REFRIGERATOR AND ICE MAKER has been one of the worst experiences of my 63 years. It looks nice but try getting anything fixed or working period. After having a repair man out to troubleshoot the problem the LG company refused my repairman any help or input at all as he was not an LG licensed repairman. We live in Montana and the closest LG place was 3 hours away. That LG company repairman said if we would hall it to Bozeman they would look at it. My repairman has an excellent reputation and works on every other brand and an Appliance Repair Business. He now refuses work on anything LG as he has had NO luck getting any assistance from LG or their repairmen. Nor have I, as an LG Customer. Two weeks after replacing the ice maker, which never worked again, the refrigerator went completely out. BE SURE TO LOOK ONLINE AT ALL THE LAWSUITS AND HUNDREDS OF CUSTOMERS STORIES OF THE SAME TROUBLES AND WORSE!!!! Be warned!!!

LG WM2301HW Washing Machine has been nothing but problems. I started a load and smelled something burning. I found the washing machine not working ... its burning from within, black burning internally - arched inside on the wires - caught fire. LG does not want to recognize that there is a problem... This is a huge legality and liability for LG. No machine should catch on fire... LG needs to make it right. Could this model be a recall? I found a lot of bad reviews on this model.

Purchased an extended warranty on March 14, 2017 for my LG refrigerator for $375 through Assurant which LG told me I had to go through to get coverage. LG contacted Royal Electronics from Bunnell Fl. to service my refrigerator. R.E. phone #386-756-1775. R.E. contacted me to set up date to come to my home to look at my refrigerator. R.E. did show up but only after cancelling the first appointment and showing up a week later. The service repairman was very friendly but came completely unprepared and was ready to walk out the door when I brought it to his attention that he hadnt even checked the ice maker, which was one of the main reasons he was there. The other was the water inlet valve in the back of the refer. Jumping ahead repairman said he order the parts but that the refer was old (7yrs) and I might not be able to get all the parts for it. Sad.Im waiting almost two weeks and hear nothing from R.E. I call them back and they say they cant get the ice maker anymore (no longer available). I went online and found the part myself at repairclinic.com. I called R.E. back and said they could get the part from repairclinic. R.E. told me they only order parts from approved suppliers through LG. I called LG and they said they would authorize the purchase, and let R.E. know to go ahead and order the parts. In the meantime Im still making phone calls both to R.E. and L.G. really getting nowhere. Assurant has already charged my credit card twice ($250 now), and nothing has yet to remedy my broken refer 6 wks later. R.E. never calls back and I always had to call them.Collette from R.E. told me the part was on its way but she didnt have a tracking number and that we would just have to wait to hear from her again. She told me not to call again because she would call me (that never happened). So now after at least two working days on the phone, on hold more than half the time, I decided to cancel my insurance policy. I call LG and they said they would charge me $100 and refund the rest. They said this was to pay for the service call to my house by the repairman. I received really no service at all, and Id be a fool to keep playing phone tag with two companies that obviously have no intentions of making it right. I believe R.E. was being spiteful that I went above their heads and found the part I needed from another company. (Prior, R.E. insisted to me that the parts could no longer be obtained because the part was no longer manufactured.)They just did not want to do their job and thats incompetence as far as Im concerned. What a win fall for R.E. All the repairman does is show up and he gets paid. LG should refund all my money for the trouble I have been put through. A refrigerator that cost me about $2400 should last (in my book) at least 10 yrs before something goes wrong with it. LG mindset, its time to buy a new one in 6 to 7 yrs. What a shame and what happened to pride in the products we buy in the USA? Wasteful! Wasteful! Wasteful! I shall go on to order the parts myself and try to repair my refrigerator. What happened to the days when you would call a repairman and he would have the parts in his truck and hed fix it right then and there?

The knobs were broken. Originally, I thought it was just my stove. I have since found out that this is an enormous problem for LG. I returned home over Thanksgiving to smell gas. My elderly mother had made some tea while I was at the store. She was visiting for the holiday and was unfamiliar with the stove. She thought she had turned it off, but because the knobs were spinning on the posts, the stove only appeared to be off. It was in fact filling the room with gas. While I was opening the windows, my mother was apologizing while rushing to the stove to turn it off in her embarrassment. Knowing what was about to happen, I lurched across the room and grabbed her hand before she reached the stove.Of course, if she had turned the knob at that time, it would have passed the ignition point and exploded the gas that was filling the room. Instead, I left the gas on at its lowest setting while opening all the doors and windows. 10 minutes later, when I aired the kitchen, I crouched down and turned off the stove. I wrote LG six weeks ago and they have not responded. I think many people would do what my mother nearly did and exploded their house. This product is deadly. It is just a matter of time before it kills people. LG needs to proactively seek out every stove with this defect and fix it or recall the product.

I called for service when I realized my freezer/refrigerator was failing and instead of having service immediately available which could have saved my perishables, it took over a week to get repairs. The repairs consisted of an inspection, ordering of parts and finally the actual repair. Meanwhile, hundreds of dollars worth of food all had to be thrown away. The loss of food compensation based on the size of my refrigerator (24.5 cu ft) was $150. Ridiculous. One health supplement alone was $40, not to mention the custom (and very expensive) food I was storing for my dog who is slowly dying from kidney disease. This was my second LG refrigerator and it will, unfortunately be my last. The bottom line is, forget the ratings on the bells and whistles for a new refrigerator—check out how long a refrigerator actually lasted and *then* make an informed decision.

I purchased an LG electric range and refrigerator. An extended warranty was not purchased, as I didnt feel a $1400.00 range and $1700.00 refrigerator would require repairs in a 5-year period. The refrigerator has been problematic (leaks and broken plastic drawers), but it keeps the food cold. So well deal with the unsightly leaks and work to the best of our ability to keep our expensive wood floor dry. My current problem is my electric range. It quit working altogether, and by reading many complaints, the model is infamous for this breakdown. In speaking to LG customer service department, the only remedy she could offer is the name and number for the only repairman they have contracted in the Louisville area. An appointment was arranged with Universal Appliance, which was confirmed before I took 5 hours of unpaid time off from work. Needless to say, they did not show up. I was given an explanation and told they would be here before 10 am the following day (more unpaid time off work). It is 9:55 am and still no repairman. I am left with a non-working 2-year-old electric range and up to this point $150.00 pay deduction. I am disappointed in the sub-standard quality of my LG products and feel I have no recourse.

But they often tend to charge alot for their refrigerators and also they charge alot for there ovens, and they charge alot for there cellphones. It also causes a higher energy bill. In July of 2010, I bought an LG LFX25961, 25 cubic feet. After 3 years, the ice maker broke down and started to freeze. The plastic had completed expanded inside. I had to manually operate the arm until this broke down too. I was about to replace the ice maker, when the freezer stopped working. I Called an LG certified repairman who showed me that the back was completed corroded causing the freon to leak. The compressor was burning hot. I was told that I could try to add freon but without any guarantee of the fridge lasting. I would be better off just buying a new fridge. He told me that most of his repairs deal with Samsung and LG which apparently are the brands taking over the big stores. I decided to buy a Whirlpool since it seems to have the least amount of repairs among all the brands. It could have been the case of a lemon, but some of my friends have reported issues with LG fridges. I was not aware that fridges need to be considered as disposable appliances and wont last more than 3 or 4 years. It appears to be the case however. I just bought a basic fridge with no water or ice dispenser. I can live without them. I will stay away from any LG kitchen appliances in the meantime and will not recommend them.

Ordered & paid for LG, bottom freezer refrigerator in 2/2014. Delivery was April 1; delivery man lost a part to the doors so didnt close properly. After a LOT of phone calls LG called and delivered a new refrigerator (same model). Two months after use, started whistling. Sounds like the bomb sound effects in old war movies; I timed the whistle... over one minute - each time motor cuts on it whistles. After whistling stops motor runs at an elevated groaning (small aircraft). Called LG for repair (still under warranty); online customer service ignored my request for two months. Finally got a note saying sorry - were having IT issues. They scheduled an appt for a repairman after I called Home Depot (who then called LG). Repairman never showed because the company doesnt service LG unless out of warranty or bought from them (so they told me when I called to find out where they were).Recontacted LG (online chat customer service as it is based in the US) and I keep a transcript of conversations. Week later, awaiting repairman. Refrigerator 5 months old. After reading all comments, I am fearful for the next 7 months. I will not ever buy an LG again purely because their customer service quality is - well I am not suppose to write what I am thinking... How do we stop this company from selling in the US? Who do we complain to? Federal Trade Commission? BBB? Who else?

A few months after purchase the filter compartment started to leak so we had water pooling on the top shelf. Got it repaired. Then the ice maker had a leak in the back so large sheets of ice would get stuck behind & prevent us from taking out the ice tray/compartment. Got it repaired. Then the filter compartment started leaking again. Got it repaired. And the biggest problem of all, the compressor died and it took a week to have it repaired. Lost a lot of food & homemade prepared meals in the freezer not to mention being a week without a fridge!!! Got it repaired. 5 days after the repair, the new compressor died again!!! The day after I went to Costco to restock the fridge & freezer!!! Im still waiting for the warranty people to call me to set up a service! I just might lose my mind! I purchased my LG front load steam washer, model WM2501HWA, in April of 2010. It worked fine until May 2014 when it just stopped mid-spin cycle. It totally lost all power. I checked the obvious, tripped breaker switch, plugs, and all was fine. So I called a repair company that was recommended to me by a friend. They diagnosed the problem as a bad power board. It was also recommended that I replace the noise filter at the same time. Parts and labor would be over $300 not including diagnostic fee. After waiting a month for the parts, they installed them and it worked. After about 6 loads it died again! Ive been waiting for the new parts and its been over a month! I asked the repair company if they could just refund my money so I could just get a new one and they said they wanted to install the new parts first. They have yet to receive my parts and I am spending $25 a week at the laundromat. The first mistake I made was buying an LG washer and dryer. My second mistake was calling a bad repair company. I am currently out $300 and have no working washer. I am so mad!! Dont buy LG!!!

Of course they are all out of warranty now and during Christmas of 2021 pieces of enamel was being found in my food I was baking in the oven. Needless to say this has to be a manufacturers defect because nothing I have done would warrant chips of enamel falling off. I called they said, Nope its out of warranty. Even with the fact that we could have consumed some of the enamel they do NOT care. Even the man that I called about checking it out said LG was hard to work with. I am hoping to get this resolved soon being I can not use my oven for fear of consuming enamel. Now 1 month later the fan motor growls every time I use the oven. I called LG and asked if they would cover the repair simply because it is so very recently out of warranty. No. No chance. $125 to have a technician assess it and then whatever the parts and labor are to repair it. If the product is only designed to last 13 months perhaps it should be cheaper than $1100. I have used it approximately 300 times for about an hour max each time. So 300 hours of use should be all you should expect.

I bought an LG washing machine model WFT6500 at Courts (Mauritius) Ltd. in November 2009. Serial No. is 908.JWWZ00529. Never once washed clean and so wearily I almost never made use of it during the warranty period, thinking that it must be a machine with very low power and it is normal to wash dirty. However, after the warranty period, I contacted the seller who wanted to send someone to check but for a fee. I refused because they did not think it was a technical problem. And so I blamed myself and nursed my woes stupidly until last month when I realized that the problem comes from the rinse cycle which is not functioning properly. It only spins the clothes but does not throw the water away nor does it do another rinse. The rinse cycle lasts only a few minutes with no additional water coming in or going out until the spin cycle that finally for the first time during the wash and rinse cycle drains the water away, leaving residues of dust in the clothes.I contacted the dealer once more, insisted that it is a defect that has been there since the first wash but they want to repair for a fee. I find this unfair because the machine has never been up to expectations and in spite of being in my possession for four years, I must have used it a dozen times only and not at all for two years at a stretch during that period because of being away from home. I guess it could be a defective machine that has been sold to our Mauritian distributor with or without their knowledge.

I sent pictures of the destruction with my claim, but Im waiting for a tech to come take a look at LGs request. We purchased an LG French door stainless refrigerator in September of 2016 (did not take delivery until mid October). On September 19, 2018 we woke up to a defrosting freezer and non-functioning refrigerator, in under two full years of use. LG customer service told me the part is covered under the sealed system warranty, but labor is not. They offered to cover labor “as a courtesy,” but they did not have a technician available. They gave me the phone number of an authorized repair center and an “APN” number, but when I called I was told they are not currently taking repairs for LG because they have a 3 WEEK backlog.I called LG back and they gave me the only 3 other authorized repair centers in the state of Colorado. Two don’t actually work on refrigerators and the third offered to come out in a week. Took the appointment but called LG back and was told I could call try to find someone to fix it sooner, but they would only cover labor through their providers. When I told them I can’t afford refrigerator repair on a product I bought in good faith that has failed in under two years, I was told “that’s not on LG.”I kept the appointment, sat home all day yesterday (9/25/18) waiting for my 1-3PM repair window, expecting a working fridge by dinner time. At 3:30 the provider arrived, looked at the fridge, said “yep, your compressor is shot. It’ll take 3 days to get the part, then we’ll get you on the schedule for repair. Just understand we’re very busy and seeing a ton of these, so we’re trying to get at least one repaired daily.” So I have no idea how long it’s going to take. My family of 7 is living out of a dorm sized (Whirlpool) fridge. I’m going to the store up to 3 times a day to get food I can make immediately and a half gallon of milk at a time for my 5 kids. We bought an entire kitchen suite of LG appliances at the same time and are now terrified they’re all going to fail and it won’t be “on LG.” As I’m sharing with friends, at least 3 have had the same issue, one within the month and her fridge was newer than mine.

Control knobs will turn on with a slight bump. Has burned items on my stove because was caught by someone in my household. Smoke alarms going off and rooms filled with smoke. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE!!! LG refuses to acknowledge or correct the problem, despite numerous consumers having the same exact complaint. They have denied my request for a fix. I check recalls every week just expecting to find this range on the list, but not yet. I hope it doesn’t take a serious incident for this to be addressed. Im hoping a lawyer will file a class action suit against LG. Costco says they must go thru the manufacture for this problem. Who will pay for my house if it burns down because of this stove?

I purchased the refrigerator from HH Gregg and within a week or two, we were waking up to water on the floor and ice in the freezer on everything. Also the seal was frozen and the fridge was not keeping the food cold. LG sent out a repairman who was the first of many to tell us LG has a problem with their refrigerators and cant seem to fix it. They have so far replaced left hand refrigerator door 3 or 4 times, also fixed a few other things which did not last. They keep wanting to send out repair guys which means someone has to be here for a 6hr window for him to make it. My time is more valuable to me than that. Thank God HH Gregg is trying to do a buy back so I can get a unit that actually works right. Thank God for honest business that helps the customer.

My LF French door refrigerator/freezer, model LFXS29626 is 2 years old; it stopped cooling and I had to have the compressor, coils, and coolant replaced. Since LG only covers labor for one year, I have to pay over $300 out of pocket for the repairs/labor costs. It is my understanding from the repair company, that LG has had this recurring issue, and that they have repaired four units within the last two weeks.

We purchased and LG refrigerator and dishwasher about 2 years ago. Have had nothing but problems with the refrigerator, but it is working for now. The dishwasher will not clean the dishes. Because it is out of warranty, I called to get a service appointment set up only to be told that the price which I had been quoted by two of their representatives had gone up over $100 when I finally got to the department which could schedule the service. $100 in less than three minutes? I was told that it was due to sales tax. Total nonsense as nobody charges over 60% tax and we dont even pay tax on service calls in this state! After calling back, I managed to get the price back down to what was promised and secured an appointment for the next afternoon. The next morning I received an overnight-mail package. It was the pump for my dishwasher which had arrived before the technician could even look at the machine. Obviously LG has had this problem many times before if they know the problem before they can even look at the appliance! Why was there no recall of the defective part if the problem is that common? This company is to be avoided at all costs. They will lie to you and will do absolutely anything to avoid accepting responsibility for their worthless products! If there were a negative number of stars with which I could rate them, I would.

I purchased an LG refrigerator model LFC25776 ST/06 in May 2013. A little over a year later, just out of warranty, it required its first service call to replace a fan geode. Now 2 1/2 years after the purchase, the compressor is shot and get this, although the compressor itself is covered by warranty, the labor is not! So Im out over $500 to repair a practically new refrigerator. When I told a neighbor, she said she had the same experience with her LG refrigerator. The compressor went out in under 2 years. There should be a class action suit against this company.

Bought LG washer & dryer a little over 2 years ago at Lowes. The washer just failed. Hundreds of dollars for new electronics board / labor. I wrote polite complaint email to customer service. Got a prompt reply leading off with the phrase “Life is Good. Then, a poorly constructed email telling me off. Rude. No question about what failed, how it failures, where I bought it, how I could get it fixed, how often I used the washer (very little--btw). NADA! If you luck out your LG product will not fail! If something goes wrong, you now own the new LG product line An LG Boat Anchor. Life is good! Dont trust this company! OK, OK, if you like masochism LG is your company! Enjoy!

Bought LG dish washer Oct 2018. 6 months in, it would not power on. After a month, repair was completed... that night it flooded my kitchen. That was Five (5) months ago. Since then they made a repair for the leak (I waited 2 1/2 months for the 3 parts) but repair did not work. Once again the dishwasher flooded my kitchen. I have been without a dishwasher going on 5 months now. Have been unable to get a straight answer from LG. I understand appliances might have problems —what I don’t understand is LG’s absolutely horrible customer service. They are rude, don’t give you straight answers, say they are going to call back and don’t. One rep told me they don’t replace a unit just because it happens to be a lemon! Do yourself a favor —- stay away from anything LG!

It is a front loader that is energy efficient. It was a reasonable price at the time compared to other washers available. I am not a fan of the upcharge for a color so we ended up with white. I also am not a huge fan of the way the water lines need to be cleaned out. If you dont leave the door wide open, it gets a funky moldy smell. I want it to be within my price range and large enough to do my familys laundry. I prefer name brands with reputations for quality and longevity. Regular repairs would make me flip. The washers are expensive enough as is that I dont need to be spending MORE money to fix it.

I bought an LG door in a door refrigerator February 2015. Within a few months the compressor broke. I called LG and they refused to fix it. After numerous calls and getting the credit card company involved, who rescinded my payment, they replaced the compressor. One month later, the compressor broke again. Mind you this is happening in the middle of summer. First they couldnt get the part then they couldnt get a technician. After a couple of months and $500.00 worth of lost food (which was never paid for), they replaced the compressor. Now, suddenly, the ice maker is not working. They are refusing to pay for it and it will cost me $371.00 to replace. I called LG Customer Service and there were lies galore... Like, We will check on this and call you in an hour, we will call you at the end of business, we will call you in 48 hours... All not true. This refrigerator is poor quality at a high price. It should have been removed and replaced with the first compressor breakdown. Additionally, I also bought an LG Washing Machine. All worked well until the washboard bolts that hold this piece at the bottom of the machine gave way and during a very fast spin, spun out of control, hit the washer cover, which opened and out flew the piece. They did fix this after a lot of screaming and yelling. I would not trust their products. There are many others on the market that are manufactured with quality in mind.

Has been a good product overall. Some of the plastic parts have broken - cheaply made - but otherwise reliable. Has held up well over the last several years but at around 10 years starting to show some wear on the drum suspension from what I can tell. Guess most washers are only made to last at most 10 years. Then when a repairman came to see why it was shaking more than usual would probably be more prudent to buy a new washer than have the old one fixed.

The washer is making a very loud sound. No washing clothes clean. The dryer is not drying the clothes. Has to run thru many times to get the clothes dry, sometimes two hours. On the front of the washer it says 10 year warranty. That is totally false advertisement. How can they get by with that.. LG was of no help!

We replaced a 15-year-old Kenmore dishwasher with an LG 5811 dishwasher. We installed the Sears machine in my friends home. After 2 years, the dishwasher stopped working and I had to repair a broken wire in the LG door. A year later, I had to fix another broken wire. When I spoke to LG, they were not aware of wires breaking and suggested I replace the motor assembly. I found a solution on the internet. The LG machine was quiet but never cleaned dishes as well as the rather-loud Sears.Dishes were always soaking wet after an LG wash and took hours to dry after the door was opened. We are doing as much hand-drying as we do after hand-washing dishes. Wheels on the rack failed after two years, and 1/3 of the replacements broke when pressing onto the rack. It appears to be very brittle for application. The track for the lower rack is 1/8 lower in the dishwasher than on the door. Dishes go every which way, and when the rack goes, bumps are going between tracks. The lower dish rack jams on the door seal. Theres also inadequate clearance between the door seal and the rack. After 6 years of uninterrupted and good service, my friend replaced the Sears machine. Our LG refrigerator has worked well, although the default fridge temperature setting after a power failure freezes food. Parts fall off the drawers and have to be re-installed. Humidity settings stick up a bit above the drawer, and settings are changed when something is pulled from the shelf. I would never recommend LG.

I liked my LG refrigerator when I bought it about three years ago, but its compressor went out, and I wasnt very happy with it a few weeks ago. I love the refrigerator, the way it operates as well as the shelving, and its easy to take care of. But then I noticed my freezer things were getting a little mushy soft in the freezer. A few days later, my son came over and we went through the directions on how to restart it. You pull the plug and let it rest, which we did, and we adjusted some other things. But when I got up the next morning, my whole kitchen floor was full of water. So, he said the compressor went out on it. LG then came out here and put a new compressor in. They also sent me a check for the food that I lost, which I did lose a lot. I appreciate that I didnt have to put any money out, but it was very frustrating. A refrigerator should last longer than three years.

I bought a new washer dryer set from Home Depot 70 days ago (a little over 2 months). The bulb in the dryer wasnt working, ignored it for a while then decided to call LG service to have it fixed. It was a buck but what the heck, its a new dryer everything should work right. LG says the bulb isnt covered by warranty and that I can purchase it from them. WHAT? A brand new Washer Dryer for $1800 has a $1 busted bulb which they claims isnt covered under warranty. I ask why not and the answer I get is that the bulb is a consumable. A consumable, like a detergent or lint paper? To get to this bulb I have to unhinge the door, unscrew the cover inside the dryer and then replace. I thought consumables are something you use all the time, not have to open a screw and unhinge stuff to get to. So essentially they expect bulbs (and I wonder what else? belts? heating element? motor?) to keep failing in their dryer and they get away by saying its a consumable. LG has the WORST customer service ever and NEVER believe their warranty. BTW it took me 8 tries to get someone to Review the case thats 2 hours of effort to get someone to review an active warranty. Would you ever want to spend $1800 and be told the warranty is useless?

This dishwasher was the first LG appliance I ever purchased. I've had it for many years and it's still running great. It has wonderful features like "delicate" cycle (for China) and adjustable racks - both for height and for items you might have to put into them. Even the flatware basket is well designed.

Installed the refrigerator last August, now it is not working. We have to wait 4 days for a repairman. My first impression with LG was when they promised to have the refrigerator
My first impression with LG was when they promised to have the refrigerator at my house within two weeks but it took more than six weeks for delivery. I did have some issues with the freezer frosting up. Called customer service. They referred me to a higher department and they seem to be able to rectify my concern. Thank you.Currently whenever the refrigerator compressor goes on the vibration sound is very high. Have checked inside the cabin and all the contents to make sure they were not vibrating it is not it’s the compressor vibrating. I called for a repair and they recommended me to appliance repair in Poughkeepsie New York. I then checked on their ratings. All of the reviews were a one star except for three that were five stars. It also showed that there was two complaints to the Better Business Bureau in the previous six months. I canceled the appointment and spoke to LG about using such a horribly reviewed service. I told them I did not want that repair service in my home.
