LR3023ST - The touch panel quit working on several buttons affecting 3 burners and some oven numbers at 2 years. The touch panel was replaced. Then 2 months later it happened again affecting 2 different burners and the off button for the oven. We will never buy another LG stove again. We would like to give this costly endeavor a zero as we go out to buy another stove today.
My LG gas dryer started making a thumping sound and now the drum is cracked, no longer drying my clothes and and is tearing my clothes from the jagged whole in the drum. Poor quality metal drum. I will never buy LG products again. Class Action Lawsuit here we come!!
Worst Customer Service ever experienced. DO NOT BUY AN LG PRODUCT. Going on 4 months to get our new refrigerator repaired and still nothing.
Purchased and LG LFXS32726S a year and a half ago. 6 months after the warranty expiration (of course) it breaks down. Refrigerator stopped cooling but the freezer still works. If I paid for an extended service plan, ($500 or so per year) I could have a tech come out the next day. I called a local repair company who came out and said that the compressor had a small leak and that I should call LG since the part would still be under warranty. I contacted LG who then scheduled an appointment for 4 days later even though with a service plan I could of gotten service the next day. Service tech texted he was on his way, my daughter was home and did not hear him knocking. He never texted me to state he was outside. Just left. I texted him numerous times to see what his progress of arrival was and no response, I called various times and left messages and no response.I contacted LG customer service who said my ticket was still open (at 10:00 am, tech we found out had come over at 8:34 in the morning). Waited longer and then was told at noon that the call was cancelled because he could not reach me. Funny his first text came in just fine to let me know he was on his way and when I had not heard from him and contacted him numerous times there were only crickets to be heard. Called LG customer service and was given the runaround. First I was given a number to follow up with that was supposed to be where the LG tech was being dispatched from. Called the company, this was a one man show with no employees who did not have a work order sent to him for our repair. Waste of time and aggravation there. Then with 20+ minute wait times on additional calls to customer service to just be told, call this company and see if they can help, we have no appointments available this week to reschedule you and when I asked for a supervisor... 40 minutes later I finally got one. My daughter in the mean time Contacted LG on Twitter and was given phone numbers of repair companies to call. Great customer service right? Here we are a week later with no diagnosis still and now as I am reading many more people are having the same problems. Finally got the repairman to contact me after speaking to the supervisor which was promising and he apologized and stated it must of been a problem with his phone and that he would be there first thing before 8:00 am the next morning. I personally waited for him and called him when he was late. He returned the call after 9:00 am to state he had family problems but was on his way.He then shows up just to tell me that the fan was frozen and we needed to disconnect the refrigerator and let it defrost. Hmmm when I checked online someone had the same errors and mentioned that it was a refrigerator fan that needed to be replaced so I spoke to my husband and daughter who had by then made a secondary appointment with another LG tech because we were not sure this one was going to show up after yesterdays fiasco. Lo and behold we got a third opinion, they agree with our diagnosis and changed the fan and now it is working again. One week and $429.63 out of pocket later so far (btw found fan only cost $80.00 online but we did not know how to install) hopefully this fan will last another year and a half so we can get money to buy a new NON LG refrigerator to replace this one! NEVER again will we purchase an LG product. I really thought I was getting quality and value for my money and now we have learned to do even more research before buying pricey appliances like this in our future.
PAID 1900 FOR HIGHLINE UNIT. Unit fan in freezer went out. Took 3 weeks to get part, lost $400 in food. Home Depot was helpful after screaming at them. Now fan out again and all food lost. Out of warranty and they want to send their people to my home. Awful service and awful appliance. No help and left with mess.
I love the configuration of this refrigerator, especially the middle drawer. Beyond that, this expensive refrigerator has been a major disappointment due to multiple and repeated problems, including a loud noise when the compressor is running, and ice build-up in both the refrigerator and the freezer sections, resulting in three service calls for each issue.
Does not dissolve deferment. Tried all kinds per repairman. Run hot water in sink. Very hot. Dishwasher water is 80 degrees.
The LG over-the-range microwave MODEL LMV1683ST caught on fire. This appliance was manufactured in December 2014 and I purchased it at Lowes in March 2015. On July 3, 2015 the unit started sparking and smoking and then flames started shooting inside the unit. 4 months old and LG thinks it might be repairable. I dont want that unit in my house. I have spend several hours cumulatively on the phone trying to get a new unit. The unit only cost $200, yet they have sent repair people to my home. The cost of the repair time has exceeded the cost of goods and out of frustration, LG has created a consumer that will never buy another LG product. The poor Customer Service Reps must hate their job. They are not empowered to really help the consumer. It seems to me that LG has a lot to learn about customer satisfaction.
DID not show fingerprints - during a brown out of our electric service in a storm this unit continued to run. I never lost any food while all my neighbors lost hundreds of dollars of refrigerated and frozen food. Great unit and wish I had moved it with me when I left NJ.
LG washing machine steam and direct drive - The paddles have broken and the ones supplied are not fit for purpose. Do not buy these machines or these paddles as you will be pulling your hair out. And talking to LG for 45 min. was a total waste of time.
I have had an LG fridge for a few months and it has stopped cooling correctly, and the ice and water dispenser do not work. I have tried LG customer service 4 times and, on my last call, have asked to speak with a manager. They all say the same thing, promising a resolution, though nothing happens. I have been waiting for over 3 weeks to get help with my problem, but help has not come. I would purchase any other large appliance from anyone but LG, if I were you.
I purchased a DLEX3250W model LG dryer in December of 2014. I have had problems with lint screen since early on. The screen does not fit its holder and clothes will catch on the corner and twist when drying causing the clothes to wrinkle terribly. During Memorial weekend of the year (2016) when drying towels, the dryer stopped heating. When I contacted the LG technician, I was very disappointed with the fact that I could hardly understand him, and he did not seem to know anything except what he was reading. He said that it may be the electric plug and we probably needed to call an electrician. We tested the plug and it was fine. He also said something about lint buildup and that was untrue. We ended up purchasing a new Maytag dryer since we had family up for the weekend. I am very disappointed in this purchase and will not buy another LG product again.
I bought 7000.00 dollars worth of LG appliances for our new house. The water dispenser never worked. The ice maker quit within three days. The motherboard went out in three weeks causing the refrigerator to go out and all our food lost. No recourse. Waiting for new parts now. Dont buy LG.
Purchased a new LG dishwasher on 12/17/20. Model #LDT5678SS. Delivered on 12/20/20. Used MAYBE a dozen times & now there is rust in the bottom of the tub & on the door. Since it is now past 30 days Lowes will not fix/replace it so we reached out to LG since there is a 1 year warranty. The tech they sent out said he owned the same model & kept his outside & his didnt do that. Then he went out to his truck, made a phone call, came back in & told us to call Customer Service & left. We called customer service who informed us the tech said it was improper use on our part. We only used Cascade & water. I dont understand how this is improper use!We also purchased the 5 year extended warranty from Lowes, but because it is still under manufacture warranty, they cannot help either. They also stated that rust on the tub & door is considered cosmetic & would not be covered. Even though in the back of the LG book, that came with the dishwasher, it states there is a lifetime warranty on the tub & 1 year warranty on the parts/labor.So now we are stuck with a brand new rusting dishwasher that sticks like rust inside & Im sure will only get worse with time but thats considered cosmetic. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER LG PRODUCT AGAIN. Its sad because we used to love LG. Own several LG TVs & also just purchased a LG Microwave which Im going to return before the 30 days. We were also looking at purchasing the matching stove & refrigerator but that is definitely out of the question now!! Between the Dishwasher, connectors & warranty we paid over $1,000 & now were stuck with it!
My French door style LG fridge was purchased around January 2011. While it has worked well, it began making a chug-chug-chug noise periodically soon after. A year and a half later, the noise is becoming constant, though the fridge seems to work all right. Im going to try to learn the cause of the noise and what it means regarding the continuing function of the fridge.
LG Microwave Oven Model LRM1260SW. I purchased it in 2009 at Best Buy for $200.00. At the time, this was considered to be a high-end price for a table top microwave oven. We noticed that the turntable was sticking. My son looked at the rotating ring that supports the glass turntable and noticed that there were pieces of plastic flashing that had not been cut away after the part came out of the injection molding machine. So we cut the flashing off and the turntable worked fine. Then a month later, the light bulb burnt out. We havent yet replaced it because we dont yet have the right tool to open that part of the oven wall to get at the bulb. Then we noticed a burning smell that occurred sometimes when we used the oven. It smelled like plastic burning. Then we realized that the turntable was again not working. Were not sure when it stopped because the light is not working. My son finally got a day off and turned the oven over to open it up. There was a section of the bottom panel that was proliferated so it could be pried off. My son removed the section and it revealed a burn out synchronous motor that turns the turntable. The gear that was made of plastic was literally melted, (thus the burnt plastic smell). We will replace the motor for $25.00 and the light bulb for $8.00 and try to use it as a back-up appliance. But the easily removable panel on the bottom of the oven indicates that they expected this motor to need replacement, (planned obsolescence). I bought this oven to replace a perfectly good running Sanyo oven only because the Sanyo was 24 years old. I will contact Sanyo and determine what their best oven is and buy that. No more LG anything for me.
Updated on 08/02/2019: LG is blatantly cheating its customers in the name of Customer Service. They drilled my refrigerator without my knowledge and finally declared that the unit is not repairable after 30 days and 5 tries. The technician drilled my refrigerator without informing me. Now they are not ready to replace my unit as I do not have the purchase receipt, is this JUSTICE? What is the use of Serial Number on the unit. Am sure LG can extract all the details based on Serial number but they want to cheat the customers and humiliate them. Please stay away from LG, my young family suffered a lot due to LG.Original Review: We bought LG Refrigerator and it stopped cooling after 4 years. We called LG and they sent a service technician after 2 days, he did the repair and the refrigerator stopped cooling again after 3 days. Now the horror story starts. I called LG and they said that a service agent will call me back to schedule an appointment and it never happened. I called continuously for 4 days and each time its a 45 minutes wait but they just treat customers like garbage. I will never ever buy or endorse LG product in my life. LG does not value its customers, I felt humiliated and I am writing this review with a lot of pain.
As soon as the warranty (1 YR) was over... Problems started. Temperature changed by itself; called LG they connected to the unit and fixed it, but continue to ask for me to get extra warranty (I did not). Unit started icing inside and water inside as well, after several (self do it yourself) defrosting, problem continued. Called LG again and they said they could not take care of it, that I needed to make appointment with them to have it fixed. I told them I would take the frig/unit and drop it in front of the store explaining to everyone what was wrong with it and worthless it was. They got connected online and reset it and it worked fine for a while. Now its doing it again. All of their units are worthless even their cell V10 & V20, their dishwasher its also another piece of crap. NEVER AGAIN will I ever buy LG. So far stove/oven and microwave works... but give it time. BTW, units are less than three years old and Im hardly ever home to use them, so it should only be about 6 months worth of use. Thank God I didnt buy the washer and dryer from them.
I bought a washer and dryer from LG about three weeks ago and was not able to get it delivered due to Sandy (live in New Jersey). They moved my delivery date (understandable) and any consumer can understand these types of issues. But now I just got an automated message telling me that they are now moving it again. When you finally get through to an operator, they tell you all sorts of different answers (depending on the operator): (1) They are having computer problems and cannot communicate with their headquarters?!; (2) they had a system and computer failure; and (3) bad weather. I am without a washer/dryer because I moved into a new house and cannot get the family clothes washed. They also cannot confirm the next delivery date and if they cant deliver, theyll simply call again. Are you kidding me?! This is the worst, worst service I have received by any company for any product. LG customer service is terrible.
My daughter and I bought a house with new appliances, (LG) the refrigerator worked for 9 months but it was three months old when we started using it. When it failed, we called LG and they said it is out of warranty, you can hire an independent technician or hire us to diagnose the appliance. We hired someone who said it had a defective piece from fabrication. We called back to LG, they said they will repair for $400 where they will include the defective piece. I paid ($400) and they sent their technician who came and in a 5 minutes visit he said he came just to learn what was the problem, he would be back (one month already in this process). The next days we received a phone call from LG saying they wouldnt repair it because someone already put their hands on it and that we can expect $200 hundred refund (from my $400 I just paid) because the visit costs $200.How sad, how unfair, with my daughter a young person struggling to pay her bills receiving a treatment like this one. Now she has been more than a month with no refrigerator, lost the money she paid for the first technician and again the same amount by having LG putting their hands into her account in such a way. Their only suggestion is to buy a new one. Can I expect a little of justice for my daughter? I m planning to write a letter to the CEO but I know the chances for him to never read it are higher that the opposite. I hope you can do something about it.
My husband and I purchased a brand new LG fridge through Sears only FOUR MONTHS ago. One month after purchase it started making noise, which has increased to the point where it is loud buzzing and rattling. We went to Sears and were told we should have purchased the warranty; they wont honor even a 4-month old bad appliance that they carry in their own stores. They called LG company for us and we are STILL waiting to hear from them, but Im not optimistic. The Sears rep told us that LG is notorious for not responding or fixing problems. We live in a small town, and there is no LG repairman locally; so we have to try to get someone up here from miles away. Not optimistic THAT is going to fly with LG. Furthermore, I do not like being FORCED to buy a warranty in order to pay for bad equipment only months old...its rather like having to pay protection money to keep thugs from destroying your home. Will NEVER buy a LG product again after our experience and reading other complaints similar to ours. We are going to try to see if local repairman can fix the problem and just pay for it as the costs projected for an LG repairman to come up here are exorbitant, and we learned from the Sears that LG almost never sends a repairman to our town. Our frustration and anger over this lousy appliance isnt worth waiting and arguing for months with LG Company. We are also frustrated with Sears for carrying a product with so many problems...
I purchased a bottom freezer LG refrigerator three years ago. I opened the door and discovered there was no power to it. I just had a repairman examine it. It blew a simple fuse, but the fuses are soldered in so it cost me $400 to replace the control panel. Thats one-third the cost of the entire refrigerator. And its only three years old! I was looking at an LG TV, but I have now decided to never again purchase one of their products. My old, no frills Kenmore refrigerator was still going strong after 20 years. I decided to replace it with this one to improve the energy efficiency.
Three months ago I moved into a home with newer LG appliances. Recently, the freezer and refrigerator stopped keeping the food frozen or even cold. This was on Friday evening, so I searched online for possible solutions. I found a YouTube video of someone with the same fridge as I who had the same problem and he solved it by unplugging the fridge and plugging it back in. We did that, but it did not get colder. On Saturday I called the 1-800 number listed in the Smart Diagnosis section of the manual, hoping for this to tell me what was wrong and get it repaired quickly. The employee who answered the phone said they did not have the software to do this. He could send out a technician, but nobody would be available until after the weekend. I had to take the day off work to stay at home, waiting, only to be told that the technician didnt have a new compressor with him. He said he would order one, and although it would be here the next day, the technician didnt have the availability to come back until three days later. By this time, we had to throw away literally everything in both the fridge and freezer. Hundreds of dollars worth of food, not to mention all of the money spent having to eat at restaurants because of the spoiled food.Another day off work and the technician was able to replace the compressor. Thankfully it was still under warranty. He told us to wait until the next day to fill it with anything that needs to be cold as to ensure it is working correctly. He said that he hadnt had a replaced compressor fail yet. We waited 48 hours before we went back to the grocery store to fully replace what we had lost. That was yesterday.Today, I noticed the ice melting and dripping through the dispenser. I call the 1-800 number yet again, and am told, yet again, that Smart Diagnosis is unable to be used because of the lack of software. Unfortunately this time the employee says that she is unable to schedule a technician to visit because that is unavailable to her. When asked to speak with a supervisor I was told that there wasnt anyone available, but someone from the corporate office would contact me within 72 hours. 72 hours? No supervisor or manager available for simple customer service? UNACCEPTABLE!! This appliance needs to be replaced, not bandaged with defective parts. Parts fail, I understand that, but the level of customer service from LG has me unwilling to ever buy another LG appliance.
First my front loading dryer drum cracked. Clothes keep getting stuck in it and they rip. Next, the front loading washing machine is mildew smelling and the rubber seal has got holes in it and water runs into the motor compartment and the door leaks. The tray you put the soap into has broken and soap runs down the outside of the washer. Our clothes get caught in the seal and get ripped. The clothes dont come out clean and sometimes smell. This set is a piece of junk! I will never buy another set of LG products from Home Depot again!
Bought in August 26, 2015, from AJ Madison and purchased New Leaf Service Pro 10 year extended warranty, compressor started failing in Feb 2017. Didnt get fixed until April 28th, 2017. Freezer started melting again June 18th, 2017 while fridge still working and top ice works, removed freezer things, dump bottom ice, now freezer working but runs constantly, never shutting off and whistles. Waiting one week for repairman to call, guess Ill have to call him again myself Monday. Glad to have RV fridge and 20 year old Whirlpool Freezer. No more LG.
I was very excited and purchased all brand new LG appliances in late 2016 after purchasing a new home. The dishwasher has 3 racks and after 4 months the top brackets are supposed to be adjustable and do not stay upright. They are supposed to clip into brackets and have come apart. In addition, there are 6 spots on the upper and lower rack that have been burned and are completely falling apart. This was a very high end dishwasher and will not buy another LG. My brand new stainless French door refrigerator with 2 freezer drawers is also a disappointment. The side areas have broken apart and I have taped them together. Very poor design as it only holds very few items that are tall like milk gallons.
LG is more reliable and durable than many other brands and offers me what I want. It has met my initial expectations but Im hoping for more in the future in all honesty. I like that there are premium capabilities that allow me to have different set ups and it makes me excited to be able to use the refrigerator everyday. I would want the refrigerator to be used well and have an ice machine that is quality. Some other brands may be a little bit more aesthetically attractive though in a sense.
The LG stainless steel is very sensitive and scratches easily. It is very noisy and frost constantly builds in the freezer. Ice comes flying out every time you open the freezer. And water accumulates in back of veg drawers.
It has met my expectations. The price was decent. I really liked the look of the fridge inside and out. The size of the refrigerator was just what I needed at the time. I like the stainless steel exterior of the unit. I like the available space inside. It is quiet when it operates. It is easy to clean an looks great in my kitchen. The only negative comment I would have is that the temperature seems to fluctuate a little bit sometimes. Sometimes the food in the freezer is rock hard and some times a little soft esp. The ice cream.
Purchased 28 cu ft. fridge (LFSX29766S) 12/15. Worked for great 2 1/2 years and quit. Told compressor was bad. Compressor was covered but labor was $550 plus 4+ days to get one shipped in. Our other option was to buy compressor @ $250 and get it installed next day. I figured $900 and no idea how long it would last wasnt an option. Bought a new one, not an LG. And I will never purchase anything with LG on the product.
I just bought this washing machine in January 2016 and already having problems with it. Customer service is a nightmare to deal with and when speaking with them on numerous occasions attempting to get this problem fixed I end up speaking with representatives in other countries. I WILL NEVER buy another LG product of any kind. Very disappointed in the fact that I have spent over $600 on a product that doesnt work and LG will not help me in any way. Beware when buying LG products.
I have a 2-year-old LG Dryer. Not long after I bought it, it started catching clothing articles on the dryer filter at the front of the door. My clothes are getting ruined. The dryer will twist all the clothes together and the piece of clothing that gets caught, will stretch out or rip. I have already replaced a filter that cost $30, thinking it was a defective filter (not warranted). I know LG is aware of the problem, because when I called the manufacturer, the salesman admitted that people were having that problem. I want a refund. I will have to buy a new dryer. By the way, one of the bars inside the drum fell off. Now, I will have to call a repair man, stay at home all day to wait for him to come look at it, order a part and then when it comes in, I will have to stay home all day to wait for him to come back and fix it. I am so sick of spending my energy on this dryer.
We moved into a newly-built home with a brand new LG front load washing machine. With a few weeks, gentle use (there are only 2 of us), we began to notice an extremely foul odor we finally tracked down to the machine. Neither of us ever even attempt to open the door until the full cycle is complete. We found 2 problems - first, a terrible odor inside and around the door of the machine even with repeated attempts to run the machine cleaner product through, and second, a drain hose at the lower front of the machine that ended up having to be drained with every single use and even then, we had the odor. We will never buy any LG product again!!!! When we contacted them, we found no one who would even listen to us.
My 32CFT refrigerator’s compressor failed 3 times in last 3 years. Still within Warranty. This time it stopped cooling on Aug 6th, notified on 7th, they sent an Authorized tech from Goodman Services: they sent 3 technicians so far, but the problem never solved. First Tech, came in with ill health, couldn’t finish the job and left in the middle. Second one came two times and spent almost 4 hours, told he fixed everything and asked to wait 24 hrs to get full cooling, but never happened. Their customer services never cares about customers, after all they are the only authorized tech for LG.Got to speak to almost 7 to 8 LG reps, spent almost 15-20 hrs on phone, every time diff. answers, even after 1 month 1 week, the problem never solved. They scheduled one more service call to same Goodman service company again for an urgent service request almost 4 days ago, but no response from them yet. Can you imagine how can one survive without a Ref during this Covid situations, in hot summer in Texas for more than a month with two small kids. Spent almost $2k, still in Warranty, bought extended Warranty, which of no use when needed. It has been terrible. Hope LG may take an appropriate action to resolve my problem ASAP...
My two year and 10 month old LG French door refrigerator quit working last Saturday, Aug. 10. I called LG Monday morning, and they referred me to their repair service, a company called ANE. After I called them, they finally sent out a repairman yesterday (Thursday), and he told me I had a bad circuit board and possibly a compressor. The parts would have to be ordered, and I probably would not have the unit working for another two weeks. The bill will be about $500. When I asked him how I was supposed to live without refrigeration for that long, he replied, Go rent one. That is indescribably bad customer service. To add insult to injury, it is quite apparent neither LG nor ANE could care less. LG Customer Service is an oxymoron. Please stay away from this company and Samsung as well (they also use ANE) until they establish a better service provider.
I purchased a fridge 12/19/16 from Home Depot with delivery for 1/5/16. Once fridge came in and they opened the box it had a dent which I had been told to not accept (Youd think they check them before leaving warehouse as it wasnt caused bringing it in). Called customer service and could not be compensated nor will they make arrangements to schedule a quicker delivery (as 1/17/16 was next available). It was also very frustrating as my husband had taken a day off to attend to this and not only did he wait for nothing I waited over 40 minutes to get an answer. Im not sure what kind of business LG runs but one thing I do know is that I will never purchase a product from them again. They must be out of their minds to think I will wait a month to receive a refrigerator to replace my broken one.
I bought an LG double oven in February. As soon as I tried to preheat the oven, the oven filled my house up with gas. After many unsuccessful attempts to have LG have someone come out to fix the oven under its warranty, LG finally scheduled a company to come out to fix the oven. After the company attempted to fix the oven four times, the oven still leaks so much gas when I attempt to preheat the oven that I cant use it. Even though the service company has told LG that the oven is defective and they wont come attempt to repair it anymore, LG refuses to replace the oven or refund me for the cost of the oven. I have been without an oven for seven months and Im currently stuck with a $1,500 defective oven. Thanks LG!
Since April 10 my refrigerator problem has not been fixed. Tech visited five times in four weeks for repair work. According to engineering dept of LG, this refrigerator can not be fixed. This refrigerator was purchased in August 2015. I have lost food twice approximately value $400. I have NINE people living in this house and have NO refrigerator for two months. As per LG’s request Original purchase receipt has been submitted twice. Is it normal?
I purchased both LG washer and dryer in February 2009. I have been having problems with stinky clothes and mildewed foul smelling towels. I have tried all of the recommendations provided by this so-called company (LG), however, nothing works. I cant leave the door open on the washer. I have small children. Running the washer on the sanitary cycle with only bleach or only vinegar or only ammonia doesnt solve the smelly problem. My 11-year old has asthma and everybody knows asthma and mold dont mix. I am very disappointed with you, LG. Shame on you!
In 2013 we purchased the set of LG washer/dryer from a well-known appliance outlet chain. Earlier this year (2015) we noticed the washing machine started leaking. In fact, water was leaking out from the bottom of the machine and collecting in the drain pan. We immediately contacted the store we purchased it from who informed us that our warranty had expired, and they would have to charge us x-amount of dollars to troubleshoot. Instead we did some extensive research on the LG machines, only to find tons of video complaints from other angry and frustrated consumers. The leakage seems to be consistent with many other complaints. The detergent dispenser tray slot has mildew build up behind the tray itself. The bleach dispenser tray is rusting... what the heck.We finally pulled the back of the cover off to notice the water was pouring out the back of the machine during the rinse cycle. Basically $700.00 put the window... and this is the top loader extra capacity washer without the middle agitation piece. Newsflash, another service tech shared that your clothes arent even getting as clean as they should without the agitator piece in the machine which helps move the clothes around. Technology... you have to wonder. LG knows these issues exist and still push out these poor performing products. Sad. I am definitely in on a class action suit... lets band together and get it started. Conyers, Ga angry and disappointed.
Compressor went bad after 11 months. LG replaced the compressor. That one was bad as soon as it was plugged in. Replaced a third time. It has worked for 5 years and stopped cooling again. Been trying for 2 weeks to get someone to come and fix it. 4 bad compressors in 5 years. If youre thinking of buying a refrigerator think other than LG.
Stay away. Two years ago I bought an LG french door fridge. A week after we had it ice started to build up on the walls. We had someone out to repair it. Now it barely makes any ice. The other day it stopped cooling and we lost all our food. When we called LG they were very rude to us and did not want to help us. Now I have to buy a new one. I certainly will not buy another LG.
My LG fridge isnt even 3 years old. The compressor has gone out 2 times. Not even a month between breaking twice. The matching stove broke 2 days between each other. I will never buy LG again or if their parts are used in another brand. Ill make sure to do my research on my next purchase. Hundreds of dollars lost in food each time. This is ridiculous! LG should be offering consumers their money back. I dont want a fridge that will keep breaking. I want to buy from another company but unfortunately I live paycheck to paycheck and had to save for this garbage.
My experience with this washer has been completely unacceptable. When attempting to run a small load, the machine shuts down completely during the spin cycle due to imbalance. On one occasion it took over three hours to complete a small load as the load had to be redistributed and the washer restarted on three/four separate occasions. When I e-mailed LG regarding this problem I was told to check the circuit breaker!! This is a design flaw. LG as well as some other manufacturers have eliminated the costly, heavy and expensive transmissions found in earlier washers with a system that just plain doesnt work. The agitation is so poor that clothing in the middle of the load barely gets wet much less cleaned. I am tired of removing dirty laundry from this machine after the load is done.
I bought the high capacity washer and dryer in September 2018 for around $2000. They are pieces of crap. They dont wash your clothes good. Literally some places havent even been touched by water. The dryer takes more than 1 cycle to dry. Totally useless. You call LG and theyll tell you that you arent washing clothes properly. I want my freaking money back!!!
We bought our 4 door LG refrigerator in 2015 when we remodeled our home. It is by far the worst appliance purchase we have ever made. Weve had the compressor fail and replaced early on, then the ice maker was replaced, then one of the glass doors cracked, and now the compressor has failed again. In both cases when the compressors failed, we have had to throw away the entire fridge full of food, which is very expensive for us. I understand that the technology in newer refrigerators may be more sensitive, and life expectancy may be less than what they used to be, but this has been an inexcusable experience with a very expensive appliance.
I bought an LG French door refrigerator 3 years ago and I wish I would have seen these reviews back then. Please DO NOT purchase an LG refrigerator! Listen to the people who wrote the bad reviews and do your homework. We all have the same reoccurring problem. The compressors fail by the most 3 years. Mine failed after 3 years and then again after 2 months. Twice in two months I lost my food. The first time in January of 2020 and then again in April 2020. They compensated me the first time for food loss but the second time they denied me because they said 12 months have to go by before they can compensate me again. Whoever thought this would happen again within 2 months. This time I lost more food cause I made sure I had enough food to last me for 3 weeks since we are in quarantine. It is very stressful during these times to try to stay safe while shopping. I had to wait one week for a repair man to come and worry about us staying safe and distant when he was repairing. I lost all my food and had to purchase a limit amount of food to fit in my cooler with ice. This imposed a tremendous inconvenience since I had to shop at least three times that week. I called customer service and all they could say was sorry about that maam. Are they really sorry? This was not my fault but a product failure and they should be responsible to accommodate their customers with their needs. I paid $4,000 for this fridge and I did not expect this to happen so soon. This must happen quite often so they implemented a rule about compensating after twelve months. Be careful. Life is not all Good with LG.
Done with LG. The waveforce washer had to have the main circuit board replaced 3 times in the first 2 months of ownership. Nothing like spending this kind of money and still having to go to the coin op laundry... Within a year of ownership, the rust around the bleach dispenser was terrible and just continues to get worse.
LG customer service is the worst ever. Ive been dealing with them for almost a week and as of yet no one has called me back. They either have me on hold for three hours or they disconnect me. They that they understand and they or that they are sorry. I have a child with special needs and a special diet and they dont even care. My refrigerator its on its third repair. I just want a new replacement or financial reimbursement. I would never buy an LG appliance and I advise anyone who is thinking of purchasing an LG refrigerator to stay away and purchase another brand.
We have a 3 1/2 year old LG refrigerator (French door, door in door) that we had installed in our new house. While I love the features, the repairs have been a nightmare. We are currently on our 4th compressor. Each time we have been 1-3 weeks without a refrigerator. We ended up having to buy a little one to get us through. With the installation of the last compressor, our warrantly was extended. The current compressor is supposed to be one of the “new improved” ones. After about 6 months, we lost cooling in the refrigerator and freezer. Part of our meat defrosted (we took pictures). The ice melted in the ice machine. There was no sound coming from the compressor for about a day. Then it started working again. 2 1/2 days later, we had ice. We called repair and it was going to take a week for “their” repairman to even make the first visit. This company had terrible reviews and no way to contact them. We asked to be changed to another certified repair company. We waited 5 days for them. When they inspected the refrigerator, since it had started working again, they could not find anything wrong with it other than high pressure in a line and told us we had to pay the bill. So now we are still on compressor 4 (5 would kick in the lemon law), it stops working when it pleases, fails to consistently keep our refrigerator/freezer compartment at the selected temperature (can be off by 10 degrees), and because the problem is intermittent, we have to pay for the repairman to come if it starts working again before they get there. Love the LG features but will never have another LG refrigerator.
After two and a half years, this $2,000 refrigerator would not dispense water or ice. We had three people out to try to repair and none of them could. We called LG who told us to call a certified repair person but no offer to stand behind their product. We are now making our own ice and using water out of the kitchen faucet rather than spend more money on this piece of junk. After reading these other reviews, we should soon be experiencing no cooling or freezing to take place at which time we will buy a new refrigerator of any other brand.
I miss that beater bar the regular machines have. This washer does not remove the sweaty odors very well. I end up soaking my clothes for hours before washing, and then, some do not smell clean. I have tried numerous techniques, some are good. I just have to place my outdoor clothes in a separate container to soak in a solution before washing...
I purchased the machine about 6 years ago. For the last few years, rust has accumulated around the outside of the bleach dispenser (i.e., the area where you pour the bleach in to be dispensed later during the wash cycle). It is getting worse and covers a larger area as time goes on. According to the LG customer service, the cause is spilled bleach around the dispenser area and furthermore, they say, this is merely cosmetic and does not affect the function of the washing machine. I disagree.First, as noted, the area is growing. Second, there are stains on clothing after washing that are hard to explain any way other than something to do with the rust on the body of the machine. Finally, I do not believe it has anything to do with spilled bleach because there is a spout in the back of the machine that delivers rinse water and that spout is also rusting. It would be necessary for me to purposefully pour bleach over this spout, or wipe it on, in order to for bleach to cause the rust in that location. Like some other reviewers, I have had a few problems with a UE error message, but it usually works out. This could be because I do wash rather small loads and I tend to use the bulky bedding setting, even for small loads, to get enough water to thoroughly wash and rinse the clothes.Overall I am very disappointed with the LG and would prefer an agitator type machine in order to not use so much water for small loads. Thats what I will be looking for to replace this one - since spending even $300 for a technician to come and look at it seems excessive. I should add that three years ago I purchased another LG machine for a different location; at that time there was no rust on my home washer. The newer machine has been used rarely because it is in a vacation house. Nonetheless, after approximately 100 uses, the circuit board quit and the machine is dead. Naturally it is out of warranty, so getting rid of it seems the only sensible solution.
LG did send someone out to replace the faulty part. They did this as a one-time courtesy. I cant help but feeling like the refrigerator is a lemon, and its just a matter of time until the cost to continue repairing it is just not worth it. And its a shame I had to post on this site to get any kind of help from them, when they adamantly refused when we called. Our next refrigerator will definitely not be an LG!Still, thanks to this site for saving us hundreds of dollars on the repair, and I appreciate LG stepping up and doing the right thing, even if it was only because I posted on a public site the issue(s) we are having.
Bought a Lg Refrigerator model #LMXS30776S. Production date 4-2015. Linear compressor failed and neither section will cool. All food went bad and I’m disabled on a fixed income. This is the second time this has failed on this exact refrigerator. Customer should not be responsible for any charges including labor because it is a flaw in the design and LG knows this and continues to manufacture “linear” compressors that they know have issues and have several lawsuits for. My refrigerator should be fixed free of any charges as it is their design flaw. I can not afford labor charges to fix this overpriced paperweight or sealed cupboard because that’s all it is good for now. Didn’t last more than 5 years with an already replaced compressor. Shame on LG not taking responsibility for their design flaws and putting the stress and costs on customers.
LG over the stove microwave caught fire while not even in use. Flames coming out of vents across the top of unit. l have reached out to LG numerous times. Spoke to liability agent once and was virtually dismissed because I had hired a claims adjuster which had zero to do with LG. All I wanted from LG was my homeowners insurance deductible. Now that my ins. claim is settled, I have called LG, was given liability agent Tim **s direct line by a supervisor. I have left him two messages; but he has not returned my calls. I will update this review soon.
I wouldnt recommend anyone buy an LG product after what my husband & I have been through. We bought the refrigerator in 2007 and have probably had Sears out to work on it at least 12 times. We kept paying for the repair agreement because it became obvious very quickly that it was a LEMON! We have had the motor go out once and lost all the food in it. They have replaced the side of the door with the dispenser on it once...the motherboard 7 times. We lost all the food in it again a few months ago. Today was the third time in three weeks they have come out and arent sure what the problem is. It just stops running and you have to unplug it, wait a few minutes and plug it back in. LG always tells the technician to replace something on it and it never works. Today they said to put on another door & a new power cord. We have stopped storing meat in the freezer because we are afraid the refrigerator will break down again and we will lose it all. We store it in the 30 year old refrigerator in our basement that has never had to be worked on! We paid a lot of money for this refrigerator and could have bought at least one more with all the money we have paid in repair agreements. There should be no question that we should get a new refrigerator. But they dont want to do that because now its old! They spend more money fixing this than they would giving us a replacement. It makes no sense at all! If you are looking for a new refrigerator I suggest you steer clear of LG. I wont own anything again with LG on it!
Buyer Beware: We purchased an LG over the stove 2.0 Microwave middle of Nov 2019. After installation I turned the surface light of the microwave on. When I went back to put a dish in the microwave I found it to be extremely hot inside. We had not used the microwave nor the stove below to generate such heat. We turned off the surface light & checked the interior of the microwave it had cooled down. We then put a thermometer inside the microwave & turned the surface light back on to check if the light itself created the heat. In less than 1/2 hr the interior of the microwave heated to 117 F degrees. When we turned off the light the microwave was cool. We then called LG to alert them to our experience. The rep first hinted that it could be an electrical problem with our home. I explained our kitchen had been recently updated including all the electrical which was inspected by our local county inspector. They then sent a service tech out to examine the microwave. LG technical support told the service tech not to touch the microwave. They issued us a Claim number & an internal Bulletin about the problem. The tech told us we had to replace the light bulb ourselves despite it being new & under warranty. My husband is an electrician as well his friend who is a master electrician. They both researched the model. LG changed from the earlier model a 30 WATT incandescent light bulb to a 50 WATT Halogen light bulb in the same lighting compartment & model. The hole for the 30 WATT incandescent light bulb is still in the compartment & next to it is the newly added 50 WATT Halogen light bulb. IT sits just below the microwave box with absolutely NO VENTILATION. We were advised to notify our States Attorneys Office as well the BBB. We alerted the store we purchased it from to check the models they have on the floor & beware of the problem. Had we just turned on the surface light & left our home I cant imagine the outcome. If youre seeking to purchase a new LG microwave first check what type of surface light bulb the microwave is equipped with before you purchase it. LG obviously has no solution or will back their warranty on a less than one month old microwave.
I am very upset and very frustrated! I bought a full suite of LG kitchen appliances just over 2 years ago from HHGregg and invested in a 5 year (HHGregg premium) warranty to cover all of the appliances. In just 2 short years I am having trouble with all of my appliances and am currently waiting on a service call from HHGregg (whom I will never buy appliances from ever again). Found out today that the HHGregg warranty is not as good as the paper on which it is written! One complaint is the LG microwave oven. It stopped working (the plate will no longer rotate and will not heat up). Apparently, there is a default in the design of the LG microwave ovens that fit over the stove. The heat from the stove causes the microwave system to stop working. LG and HHGregg should replace my malfunctioned microwave oven with one without this flaw! No LG told me to contact HHGregg! HHGregg offered me only a 200.00 store credit! This cost does not replace my microwave! I feel robbed by LG and by HHGregg! Shame on both these companies!!!
I order a part (freezer fan) for my refrigerator (7 years old) on 10-21-16 and is in manufacturer backorder until according to LG, 12-31-16. After several calls to LG customer service (first call answered from Philippines) without answers. Today I call LG parts. They transfer me to east coast parts authorized store (NOT LG) and they gave me the 12-31-16 date. When I ask why take too long she said because the refrigerator is old and they do not stock parts from discontinued models. Sears sold 750 of this failing fans. That means they have a quality problem with the product and should have stock to resolve the inconvenience. Recommendation STAY AWAY FROM LG PRODUCTS.
4 weeks ago I purchase LG refrigerator Model LMXS28626S/04. It stopped making ice so I called the warranty department for LG because its only four weeks old, I had to hold for over 40 minutes to speak to a live person that was not able to schedule a service call because they did not have anyone available and it will take over a week for someone to maybe call me, No one has called me back, I was told they had no one available in my area so they would have to send a non LG tech out to try and fix it but can not let me know when they will be able to come. Customer service was RUDE!
LKX31925sw french door refrigerator - Had repairs made about 6-8 times with no luck. They dont know what is wrong with it. Had several parts replaced, ice has been building up on back wall of freezer and they dont know why. 5 year extended warranty ending in Aug. 2017 and I have them returning Sat. for another time to try and find the problem. I called warranty co. and Sat. is the ONLY appt. available she could find ANYTIME. I was told about Clark v. LG Electronics USA Inc case 3:13-cv-0485-jm-jma, I mailed claim form in on 4-8-15, nobody knows anything about it. Price of fridge was $2732.75 including tax.
Updated on 06/24/2021: A lot has happened behind the scenes since I made the first post. LG stepped in and offered to set the situation right, so I gave them the opportunity to do so. As you will read here, not only did they fail to make things right, they ended up making it worse. I warn you now, it is not a short read. March 30-Must have gotten someone’s attention. An unidentified person (this is a trend) PMed me via Consumer Affairs (CA) and offered to address the situation. They asked for some info, including billing address for the original purchase. I gave info and waited.April 2- Offer to repair machine at their expense is forwarded to me through CA by an unidentified person. I agree to offer. Sometime after this point, LG orders 2 replacement parts, a new main control board and a display board. I am not sure why the control board was ordered, as it was obvious the display board was the problem. The display board is the problem on every one of these machines.April 6-I get a notification by text from a random number (never identified) informing me that I recently scheduled service for my machine to be performed on April 8. Only problem is, I didn’t schedule service. Someone from LG (never identified) took it upon themselves to schedule this service without consulting me as to whether this was an acceptable time. The text number this was sent from could not receive return calls or texts, and no contact information was available to reach out about this scheduled appointment. After some digging around on the LG site, I figured out that the service was indeed scheduled, and also found out at this time that the above-mentioned parts had been ordered (one part was on backorder) and shipped to the billing address I originally gave on CA. Only problem with this is that the machine is not at the billing address, therefore both the parts and the service tech were heading to the wrong address. If someone had contacted me when the appointment was made, I could have given the correct address. If some useable contact information was made available to me, or if anyone in this process so far had identified themselves, I could have shared the situation with the incorrect address. But none of those things had happened. I share this latest update with the unidentified PM contact on CA.April 7- A box arrives from LG. I open it to find a new control board. Not the display (the part that is actually broken) but the other random part. Turns out that the display board is on national backorder. Not surprising since the OEM display boards have a 100% failure rate. With every single unit of this model needing this part replaced, demand is clearly high.April 8-Tech Visit #1. The service technician calls me to tell me he is 10 minutes away. I then tell him that he is 10 minutes away from the wrong address. He finally gets to the machine (I was able to be there), swaps out the mainboard, figures out mainboard is not the problem. I knew this already. So did the tech before even doing the job. Once he determined the main board was not the problem, he swapped the original board back into the machine and left, planning to return when the display board arrived. Since the mainboard did not appear bad, he returned the new mainboard to LG. This would prove to be a regretful decision.April 13- New display board arrives. I contact service tech and he schedules the next day to come install it. April 14-Tech shows up for Visit #2 (the fact I am giving numerical designations to tech visits should tell you something) and installs display board. I am not at the house this time, or much of the remaining catastrophe would likely have been avoided. According to my wife, he swapped out the board, hit the power button to see it power up, packed up his stuff and left. He did no function check or system diagnosis whatsoever, just looked for the lights to power up. He also went into the LG service system and reported the repair job complete. It was not, and the fact that he did report it as such would create problems down the road. After tech leaves, wife loads machine and tries to run it. After about a minute, it shut down and gave an error code indicating no water flow. I get home and check water supply to make sure that we didn’t have that turned off. I will also mention at this time that I have degrees in both electronic and mechanical engineering, and have been working as a design engineer and troubleshooting technician for electro-mechanical systems over 30 years. So I was able to deduce that we had sufficient water flow, but the electric water valve in the machine was not turning on. I contacted the tech, and he informed me he would come by the next day and check it out.April 15- Tech comes back for Visit #3. During this visit I learned the tech was a refrigeration expert, and had limited experience with dishwashers. He was competent, just not that experienced with LG dishwashers. He figures out that he had plugged something together incorrectly. I am not clear whether this mistake was made during Visit #1 and the incorrect connection was made at the mainboard, or during Visit #2 and the incorrect connection was made at the display board. I suspect it was #1 and the problem was at the mainboard because one of the connectors he attached incorrectly was to the main water valve, thus the valve did not work, as I had identified. Wherever the problem, he swapped the connectors around, ran a diagnostic, declared it good, and left again. When we powered up the machine I could hear the water valve now working, but after about a minute, the same error code and shutdown occurred.April 15 Part 2-The tech comes back that night for Visit #4 (told you we needed numbering). I am there, and we spend quite a bit of time checking out the machine. I teach him a few things about how the systems operate, and using some of my electronic testing equipment we figure out that the system is not seeing a signal from the water flow sensor. Hoping sensor might be bad, the tech ordered a replacement sensor.April 20-Tech got part, and stops by for Visit #5. Flow sensor not the problem. He spends over 2 hours of troubleshooting, including 2 calls to the service center for technical support. They go through everything, including checking the wiring harness. Nothing bad with wiring, but the mainboard is not supplying power to the sensor. It was never admitted to me, but I will bet a month’s pay that when he incorrectly connected the plugs in Visit #1 or #2, the sensor power supply on the mainboard was damaged. If he had not already sent back the new mainboard (remember I said this would be a regretful decision?) he could have swapped in the new board and likely fixed the problem. But he didn’t have the parts, and he was eventually told by the Service Center to stop attempting repair and RMA the machine.April 21- An unidentified person contacted me by text to inform me that the Alternate Resolution claim was started. But I should be prepared for it to be denied because the computer system says that all parts are functional. Remember the tech incorrectly reporting the machine repaired after Visit #2? An explanation by myself containing actual factual information and logic did nothing to change the response.April 23- I receive a phone call from LG asking about how I rated the service I had received in early April. Because the tech had reported he completed the repair, the gentleman calling me had no idea the job was botched, and he wanted to know how I rated my service experience on my freshly-repaired and perfectly-operating LG dishwasher. I don’t think he was very fond of my answers.May 1- Received voice mail from someone at LG telling me I was to be offered a bit over $500 for my permanently broken $1k machine. It further instructed me to contact Shakiah M about payout. May 5-When I talk to Shakiah, I’m told the actual number offered is even less. After several back and forth discussions on both text message and email, I agree to accept the offer, as long as there is no legally-binding contract included. I am assured there is not.Side note: It’s bad enough that almost no one from LG ever identifies themselves, but I am even more amazed by the amount of correspondence throughout this process done by text message on a cell phone. Is this what we call professional corporate behavior in 2021? Text messages? What are we, high-schoolers? May 28- Finally get a written offer. And that assurance there is no legally-binding component to the offer? Not true. I must waive off all rights to pursue further action if I accept this offer.Let’s recap: I started this process with a top-shelf machine with a single defective part. A $200 replacement part and 15 minutes of effort to install this part would have fixed my machine. But thanks to the mistake made by the service tech, I now have a junk machine. And what is the offer from LG after three months of hassle to fix all of this? Half what it will cost to replace it. Now I have a choice. LG is so in breach of contract here (not the warranty, BTW) that I will almost assuredly win in court. But small claims court is a hassle. I have tried to give LG the opportunity to make this right, and they continue to fail me, and will no longer even respond to me.30 day deadline to accept offer is June 27, three days from now. If LG really wants to make this right, then they need to do something better than half replacement cost for a machine THEY BROKE. If not, looks like I will see them in court. And I won’t be suing for just the cost of the machine. Punitive damages will be added on as well, and I have high confidence in my case and my ability to present it. I have been an expert witness in court proceedings several times, so court does not faze me. I don’t want the hassle of it, but I won’t be treated as a pushover either. This is LG’s mistake, LG needs to fix it with a reasonable offer.Original Review: We bought an LG LDP6797BD dishwasher in 2018, with the intentions of putting it in our house being remodeled. We used it in our rental home for about 8-10 months before removing it from service and putting it in storage. It never got installed in the house, so after sitting for 2 years, we pulled it out of storage and put it in another rental property where it has worked flawlessly for 5 months. Now after a total service life of 13-15 months, we walk in the kitchen one day to find it dead. Wont power up, wont light up, wont reset. Looking at a few videos, I picked up a line filter. Not the problem. In fact, once I had it apart to change the line filter, I could see the red LED lighting on the board. So clearly it has power. Then after some more research, I find the web full of similar complaints. The number of purchasers with failures occurring, conveniently almost immediately after the end of their one-year warranty, is simply staggering. The Amazon listing for this dishwasher has 100% 1-Star ratings. Let that sink in. 100% 1-star ratings, I have never seen that on ANYTHING in my life. And especially not on an item that costs $1000. This design clearly has a significant design flaw somewhere. The number of instances of identical failure occurring within a span of 12-16 months of service life is not a coincidence, and this statement is coming from a highly-experienced engineer with 3 decades of experience in design and manufacture of electro-mechanical systems. I know better than to believe that any manufacturer can take products to market and NEVER make a mistake in the design cycle. But what that manufacturer chooses to do about it when mistakes happen is what defines a company. This machine has a major design flaw, LG knows it, and apparently has chosen to do nothing about it. And I guess they have a right to not do anything about it. Well, I have a right to do something about it as well. If LG continues to leave customers like myself that spent quite a bit of money on a clearly defective product, then it will be the last of my money LG will ever see. And I will go out of my way, every chance I get, to encourage as many people as possible to also not ever spend THEIR money on an LG product. This is site number 2 for the day, I wonder how many more times I can tell this story before the weekend is over?If LG believes that not addressing this issue will save them money, I can assure you it will not. They will lose far more money from me alone than what it would cost them to make this right with me. Add to that lost revenue the amount of money they will lose with all the people I convince to not ever buy LG as well, and this will quickly become an expensive mistake many, many times over what it would take to fix it. If everyone else being screwed does the same, we can make a statement that LG simply will not be able to ignore. LG, the ball is in your court.
LG LMX 25981st - When opening left door of 4-door French style would hear a loud pop. Then noticed during this pop the display panel would flash on and off. Finally popping stopped. Now no water, no ice or water filling, no display lights on front. Refridge is cool and freezer freezes but no controls. Trying to find if others have had this problem.
I had an LG washer for about three and half years. The washer stopped spinning. I called LG for the 10-year warranty and was told that a technician would come out and check the washer. I was told it would be around $100 to diagnose the problem. I told LG that the motor was slipping, it should be covered under their 10-year warranty. They said I would still have to pay a technician to come out to tell me what I already knew. I argued with them many times about the problem. I even asked them to send someone out for a courtesy call; they would not . They finally gave me the number for Parts. They found the part for the motor rotor assembly. They opened the back of the washer, undid the mounting bolt, removed the rotor, and sure enough, the rotor assembly gear was made of cheap plastic. It was strange because the new one with a metal center was stripped out. This not only should be covered by the warranty, but also, a defective product should be covered by the company. The whole job of replacing this part was about 15 minutes and $75 in parts. I have photos of the part being removed with its stripped center and the new one being installed.
Avoid if possible. Bought a washer and dryer pair. It arrived fine and the washer seemed to have mounted great. When it came time for the dryer after the installation, the dryer started giving errors about the ducks being blocked. First checked the actual installed duck work, that didnt help; then removed the dryer from atop the washer and removed the exhaust altogether, this also did not remove the issue. Started contacting the LG support, after some back and forth; reset the machine a couple of times and this also caused no breakthrough. They scheduled a technician to come in 3 days from then. The day the service was supposed to be done, I took a day off work and had a 2 hr time slot. The time slot came and when with no technician. Ive contacted the support again about why he did not show up. They provided me with no concrete reason as to why, and no explanation why they didnt even contact me about it. More back and forth on how to solve this issue and as it turns out they cannot even rebook me for another time slot; since there are no open slots. So now, Im two weeks into not be able to use a dryer with no time that a technician can come in to fix it, and support who dont really care if this gets solved. All of this on a $2500 purchase of a brand new set. To summarize avoid buying LG.
Bought a top loader January 2018. Washer was no problem, on September 12, 2019 I hear this loud bang! No idea where it came from. Went to get clothes out to put in dryer and there’s the agitator flipped up on the side of washer!! Completely snapped from base!!! The only thing in there were 2 shirts, 2 shorts and 4 socks. The washer is a little over a year old. This is a complete joke! Beware!! After reading how LG responses to others and the $$ to fix their products is absurd. Please beware if you buy this washer. Not made well at all!!
The controls on this microwave take some getting used to. Theyre impossible to see in dim light, and theyre not really very intuitive. My old microwave had actual buttons with numbers on them. This one uses a cutsie system that must have been designed by nerds who just wanted to demonstrate a clever-- but not user-friendly-- alternative. Oh well! Otherwise, the microwave works just fine.
Just before my top loading “smart drum” washer was off warranty it kept saying UE (uneven) and refused to spin...even after setting it on spin only. It would constantly set more time and refill with water and not fully spin. We are on a well and water use was a concern! I called LG and they contacted the authorized serviceman who came out a couple of days later. He replaced the motherboard and said all was good. That lasted less than 2 weeks before it was doing the same thing again. Called the repairman myself this time and he spoke to LG. Turns out my washer was a lemon and I actually got a new one on warranty. That was great UNTIL the new one started doing it too at about the same age as the original one started it. The new washer didn’t come with any warranty either so I’m stuck with it.LG top loading washers are a total piece of crap and it frustrates me to no end, wastes our well water and power, and I spend all day sometimes just trying to get 1 load of wash done! Too many times have I had to put dripping clothes into the dryer because I can’t get the washer to spin them out! If I had the money I would buy a new washer...but not an LG!
I love the ice dispenser of the LG refrigerator. Very easy and use frequently. Freezer has lots of space and lots of refrigerator space and you can push back a shelf halfway inside to fit tall items.
I bought a New LG washing machine. 5 weeks later it squeaks nonstop while washing clothes. I called LG, they send a repair guy out who is in my home less than 5 min and says I have no idea whats wrong with it and he leaves! I had to call LG again 3 weeks later because we hadnt heard anything from the repair guy and all they said was call the repair guy back. Here we are almost 2 months later and still have a squeaking washing machine! LG will not replace my machine. They are making us order parts! Very unhappy customer who has only made 3 payments!
Why is zero stars not an option I wonder? Do not trust in an LG refrigerator! I bought all new kitchen appliances five years ago (all LG) and the most expensive was the french door refrigerator. It is supposed to have a state of the art linear compressor. Well, please research and you will see many people in the same position as myself. After two years, the refrigerator compressor failed. It was like pulling teeth to have LG get a technician out to my home even though it is under warranty. Low and behold, after numerous calls I was able to get a technician to my home to say I need a new compressor. Parts needed to be ordered - another delay which took about three weeks. Finally a technician returned once all parts came in, just to say there is also an internal leak in the fridge and it needs replacement! I have now been without a fridge for about 5 weeks and LG still hasnt helped with a resolution. I have an alternate resolution case assigned and that can take about 10 more days for them to determine what action LG will take if anything. Absolutely awful customer service no matter who you get on the phone and they just dont care saying its their policy and they do not take action. Buy any other brand!!!
I purchased a double oven in 2018 & within six months the numbers on all the knobs were coming off. Mind you, I paid over $1300 for this range. I requested replacement parts through filing a complaint with the BBB, because LG wanted me to buy the knobs, because the warranty had expired after emailing & talking with them on several occasions. First, they set the wrong color knobs, the second time they only sent two knobs, with one being damaged & the wrong style and the third time, all the knobs they sent were different & they only sent four. This is the worst company Ive ever had to deal with & the worst & cheapest made appliance Ive ever bought. Ive never had an oven where the numbers have came off the knobs. They are ripping off the consumers by producing these defective knobs & then trying to make you buy more & when you file a complaint, they give you the runaround & send you the wrong knobs, so they dont have to replace them for free. I have been going through this process for two months & still do not have the correct knobs on my oven. I spent over $5000 buying all new kitchen appliances and this is how they treat their customers. Its not like my appliances werent registered on their site, so they had the correct model & serial number. Buyers BEWARE when buying LG products. You will get the run around when trying to get the right parts & cheap production.
We bought this LG refrigerator 2 years ago. The ice maker has started to work intermittently about 6 months into ownership. We live with it until 18 months into ownership when it quit working. We change the filter, reset the machine, search the Internet to find solutions nothing worked. Finally two years into ownership we Paid Over $200 to repair the ice maker on a new LG appliance.
On December 8, 2011, I purchased an LG refrigerator (GRB652YLS). At the level of the refrigerator exposed showroom appears straight, very stable, no problems. When I received my home in Debal, on the floor it was my surprise: the refrigerator is very tilted back. It is not perpendicular to the ground. I have a very flat ground. At the store I bought and even at the direction of Algiers, I was told that their refrigerators are celquand; as you open the door it should be maintained with a chair to get out food or the reverse. It is equipped with front feet but no use. LG should withdraw these feet to save on the cost price of the product. I am not satisfied.
The factory replaced the motherboard (main circuit board) only because of a national recall, which I never was made aware of. The tech said the repair wouldnt solve the control problems and I would have to make an appointment for that repair and pay for the parts and service call. I bought factory replacement circuit boards and replaced them and now the oven wont turn off unless you go outside the house and flip the electric circuit breaker.
This was my first appliance purchase after the machine that came with my first home broke down unexpectedly. For several months I started researching washing machine features in multiple ways and LG kept showing up. The price, features and dependability of this appliance has earned my vote.
We bought our LG ref/freezer about 5 years ago. We have replaced the icemaker at our expense two times. While it was under warranty, the icemaker had several parts replaced. Now shavings of metal has shown up in the ice. We have spent so much money on it. We have just turned the icemaker off and gone to using ice trays. We own a 1950 Hotpoint that has the little freezer on the inside. I never spent one penny on it and works great. They just dont make them like they used to.
Bought our house in May of 2014 and it came with the brand new LG front loading washer. I wish it didnt because it has been an ongoing problem since we started using it. Besides having to clean it all the time, it leaks constantly. First, the error message would go on and the water wasnt draining, so it would leak everywhere, plus we would have to empty the water. We had that repaired. Now, its leaking from a different area, which is a different issue Im being told. This is the 3rd repair done on this machine!! I will never buy a washer like this again especially from LG. I thought they were a reliable company, but they definitely are not!
Until I replaced the thermostat, the oven was unable to maintain temperatures within 100 degrees. It now works fine. The center gas nozzle used for grilling has never worked and it’s really a pain in the butt trying to remove the top to gain access to it.
Bought a beautiful $3k LG armoire fridge in Jan 16, worked great until it stopped in Sept 20. Compressor replaced, worked a week or so, failed again. LG contracts with A&E, they came back, said a clog & fixed. Worked a couple days, failed. A&E came again, ordered ANOTHER compressor and other parts, fixed again. Worked 1 day, started temp fluctuating, then quit after a couple days.In the meantime, my numerous angry calls to LG resulted in promises of a new fridge after 3rd repair, reimbursement of food lost & mini fridge I had to buy. None of that has happened yet. Dont forget, every time I call to say it failed, its another week or 2 until A&E can come back out. The waiting game is the most fun part. A&E back out today, this time says coolant leaked out, so since he could replace it LG wont honor the new fridge promise. So now I have to wait to see if it fails, I wont put anything in it just to lose it again. Oh, thats something else, when you lose all your food, and have to buy a mini fridge, you dont get reimbursed for both things, you have to choose one. Since I dont keep every receipt for every food purchase, I couldnt claim that, so Im trying for the mini but not holding my breath. To anyone reading, keep EVERY receipt, repair document, phone log, email, text. You may need them. Recording the conversations isnt a bad idea either, so you have proof of the gaslighting you will get. Ive no doubt this beautiful $3 thousand dollar kitchen paperweight fridge will fail again soon. I will never buy anything else from this company. And LG, dont ask me to private message you as you have with the others. Im not going to. Youll be hearing from me soon enough.
Like the other review, if you set your oven to bake at 350, and watch a professional thermometer inside the oven, you will see the oven climb to around 475 and stay there for a few minutes while the panel says the temp inside oven is only 345. If you then set the oven down to bake at 345 in hopes of still being able to cook something before your house burns down, the oven will inform you that it is actually only 340 degrees in the oven, and continue blazing away until it is satisfied. It will eventually beep to let you know it is ready. At that point, ensuring there is no flammable material within 10 ft, you will need to open the door and leave it open for about a minute to let it cool down. Once the oven has cooled down, you are now ready to cook, and the oven works flawlessly. I agree that the gas knobs are easily turned on when you brush against it, but thats just the way it is and I can live with it. Gas burners work flawlessly and I love cooking on it. Just wish I knew how to turn off the incinerator preheat setting.
It was a very big refrigerant. Very spacious. Very cold. It had big shelves. Large ice maker that was very big. Stayed cold all time. Everyone should have one. If I can get another one I would. It was over my expectations. I love LG appliances. I think everyone should own them. But since they cost so much not everyone can own them and its too bad save on energy. I always save hundreds when I switch to LG. I havent had to call him her repairman not once because you dont have after your warranty. We had LG appliances 2010.
It took almost a month to finally get LG to respond. First call they needed proof of purchase sent to them (strange, since they already knew my model and date of purchase while on the phone!!). They said once received, a manager would review to determine if they would extend the warranty, which would allow for the top to be replaced. No call back. Called again a week later--same story, but never a call back. Called again a week later, and demanded to get this resolved. After waiting for 40 minutes on hold, it was denied. I said that was not acceptable as this is common complaint about this washer, etc. I demanded to talk to a supervisor. After about another 20-25 minutes, a supervisor approved the warranty extension, and scheduled a service call to replace the top. A new top is being shipped in time for the service call. Hopefully the replacement top has been redesigned around the bleach cup!!To those of you who said they denied your claim, do not give up! Demand to talk to a higher up person! I also told them I would be going to Home Depot to complain and every time I was there I would drop a picture of the rusted washer into every LG washer on display!
My husband and I purchased an LG French Door refrigerator in 2016. This past week (June 2019) freezer started to stop working so we moved our food items to a smaller refrigerator in our garage. We woke up 2 days later to find the whole refrigerator not working. We contacted customer service but they did not call us back so we found a service tech in our area who said the compressor is broken and it would be a major cost to repair. We are still not able to get any help from LG about this matter. Looking to see if other people have had the same problem.
Frankly Im not a happy camper with this product. We purchased a large capacity front loader a couple of years ago. And just like most honeymoons things went smoothly for the first couple of years. In the past year we have had all of our washables damaged. Each piece has small holes in them. We do not overload our washer or dryer and use the recommended products in the proper amounts. Have any of you experienced this issue and if so how did you resolve it. Personally I think it could be the drum itself thats causing the issue. I worked for years as a commercial laundry mechanic. Any help would be greatly appreciated
No bumpers or feet on heavy grates which immediately scratched cooktop just placing them on brand new gas range. LG should have corrected this problem before putting on market.... now trying to get oven liner to cut out and put underneath grate so I can at least put pots on stove without worrying about scratching brand new gas range.
I have an LG front load washing machine that has pretty much stopped working after exactly 18 months. The drum no longer spins and there never was an error code displayed. I called the service department and we were unable to troubleshoot it over the phone. He referred me to the one and only LG repair service in Cincinnati for repairs. The parts are (maybe) covered, but not the labor. Just for the service to come out is $80. Unbelievable! We loved this machine initially. It wasnt three months though before we started to notice that not only were our clothes not getting clean, but they smelled horrible. We have to run bleach regularly and use vinegar with every load. This is truly some kind of racket they are running. What happened to the old dependable appliances that lasted 10+ years? I guess you cant make money if the machines last so long they dont need to be replaced.
We purchased a LG WM2455HG front load washer in 2008. Over the past 2 years we have been experiencing a black slim, pungent odor and black mold spots on clothes and on the door gasket. We have done everything possible to clean and maintain the machine to no avail. I have read numerous complaints on the same subject. We are looking for a solution from LG which will not acknowledge the issue.
I purchased this dryer a year and a half ago. The problem that we have been encountering is that the clothes or bedsheets we dry always get caught in the lint trap. They will spin around each other, twist each other, stretch out and each time just makes it worse. It has ruined a lot of our clothes already since then. Worst of all, when I did my last laundry drying my bedsheets recently, I found the dryer door wide open by itself (no one touched it or opened the dryer) and all the sheets are all tangled up and twisted giving me more work to do. I was so shocked to see this. One piece of advice, never leave the dryer unattended if youre drying anything. Such a lousy product. Not worth my money. Too scared for my older children to use this when I am not around to supervise them. I am honestly not happy and dissatisfied with this product.
We purchased an LG French Door, bottom freezer and all the other LG matching products in advance of moving into our new home. Refrigerator, Double Oven, Cooktop, Dishwasher and Microwave. This last Fathers Day the refrigerator did a meltdown during the festivities. By the time dinner was over, so was the refrigeration abilities of a 2 year old $2500.00 appliance. We had purchased a 5 year protection plan. We called the Home Depot with all the paperwork, account, model numbers in hand. After the typical automated system trying to get you to do everything on-line we were finally in contact with someone who pretended to be interested. After the painful research in order to verify our warranty, the finger was pointed at LG. During the transfer to LG and pushing all the buttons to get me to the right department, someone eventually picked up the phone and hung up on me. Back to the Home Depot warranty line, wading through their automated phone system and again on line with a human who gave me more information that was neither warranted or needed, told me that LG would have it fixed in 24-48 hours. I was happy for the moment. Finally, again through the automated System and long wait “because of the virus” I got to speak to someone who again had to verify the existence of our warranty. Oh boy, this is how I wanted to spend my life! I explained, the purchase, warranty, model number, code inside the door, yes it was plugged in, yes the light came on, yes the ice maker had no ice, no there was no cold air when I opened the doors and no the water dispenser was not providing cold water. Yes it was really broken.Three days later, an appliance center 50 miles away called in a very non-English speaking voice called me to confirm that I “had a refrigerator LG that is not working and can be repaired” Yes she did say “refrigerator LG”, if I set an appointment and paid for the repair at the time of service and would have to call LG for reimbursement after the repair. This offer and the person didn’t sound like a viable and credible situation. I asked if they were following up on my Home Depot Claim... no answer.I called Home Depot, went through the automated system again and they said to stay away from this offer and wait for LG To call. And they were so interested, they assigned a “case manager” to my claim, oh boy. My “case manager” called, we went through the whole story, again, and she assured us that she was “on the case”.Two days passed, the mysterious appliance repair shop left an automation voice mail, “We can fix your refrigerator if you call us and authorize us to order the parts. The parts will take about a week to arrive. We can then set up a service appointment”. We called our “case manager” went though another automated system asking us if we would rather find what we wanted “on-line” waited and finally got a real person. Asked for Ashley to which we got silence and “do you know what department she’s in?” More time another explanation of the story and then finally Ashley’s phone rang, and rang and rang and then Ashley’s electronic explanation of how to use the Internet to get answers and how to leave a message for her and she would call right back. She did, seven hours later. She then came to the realization that we had lost all of our food, drinks, and no refrigerator at all! For the last six days. It’s Friday night, but before she goes home for the weekend she’s going to “send an email to our local Home Depot to see if they can let us borrow a refrigerator on Monday” Assuming that we can easily do without a refrigerator til then. I asked if this week long period was typical of the wait for service? She said “unfortunately this isn’t very long at all, it may take weeks”. Tomorrow, Sunday, will mark the seventh day of eating out, buying bags of ice for the milk and juices and regretting we were so naive to spend more money on a warranty, and NOT to go through the product reviews posted by others.
My Kenmore fridge (made by LG) just went bad. Its less than 7 years old. Needs new compressor and then seal would never be right, as told by repair person. So Im off buying another fridge. Wont be buying LG. I would join a class action lawsuit if someone starts one.
The refrigerator (LFX25976ST) isnt working. It has been two weeks without a refrigerator. LG and Best Buy wont honor warranty, which states if not repairable, LG would replace the unit. To receive the replacement, I would need to pay about $1000 due to the fact that the unit I purchased from Best Buy was on sale and an opened box item. Best Buy did not mention that due to it being an opened box item, if the unit failed, I would have to pay the difference between the cost of my unit and the cost of the replacement model.
I finally received the check yesterday. I cannot change the rating. None of this was easy. The way this was handled was completely inappropriate. Nobody should have to go through this when dealing with a refrigerator that was recalled and still under warranty. Wait times of 1-3 hours on the phone. Appointments scheduled and cancelled without any notification or reason. Horrible customer service that nobody deserves for any reason. Im so glad its over. This was extremely stressful and I dont feel like I received enough compensation under the circumstances. What bothers me most is you are still selling these defective refrigerators.
Note that we have owned refrigerators for over 35 years, so are quite good at evaluating them: we like the LG refrigerator overall, the interior layout and the 2 freezer drawers but, it has several annoying drawbacks/problems: (a) the flipper on the left-hand door, which flips to allow the door to properly close, has an extremely close tolerance, and we have already had a repairman come in to adjust it so the door would properly close (he told us its a common problem and showed me how to do it in the future). (b) The design of the ice dispenser is terrible, as it is nearly impossible to position a glass without some ice chips falling outside the glass, and, if you do not notice that someone has left the dispenser switch in the ice setting (a tiny light indicator) and you want a glass of cold water, the ice dispenser dumps out a load of ice before you can stop it, or vice versa, and if you have a visitor, make sure he/she doesnt go to get ice/water by himself; (c) the unit is noisy, as the case vibrates - if I press against the side the vibration stops, but starts again when I take my hand off; and (d) when it was delivered a small plastic part was missing on the flipper hinge, I asked Customer Service if they could just send me that little part, but no, they said they had to send a repairman, which required 2 visits as he could only replace the entire flipper assembly. We would show a friend these conditions before buying an LG.
I have had the LG HE machine for approximately 2 years. When I first got it, I called LG because the machine wasnt getting all of my clothes wet and certainly not clean. They smelled dirty when they came out. The repairman said that the machine was working properly and proceeded to completely fill the tub to prove it to me. I have since found that the only way to get a full tub of water to cover my large loads is to run the washer on Bulky Bedding with Heavy Soil Level. (Nice trick for the repairman to use). How much longer will LG (I dont know about other so called HE makers) be allowed to dupe the public into buying these machines? I bought it to save energy and water. I care about our overuse of the earths resources in fact I am one of those who still hangs clothes outside on my clothes line. As soon as we can save enough money, we will dump this machine.
The LFX25973D/00 FRENCH DOOR refrigerator obviously has problems with its linear compressor. Almost every person who bought one of these, has the problem that it stops cooling after 2 years. I have read this over and over and over and over. If you replace the compressor-it breaks again in 2 years. It is ridiculous that I read reviews saying this is a great product when a class action lawsuit was opened up over this defect? Why can’t LG in S Korea manufacture a replacement compressor that isnt defective so everyone with this product can just put the new compressor in and everything is good? Instead 10’s of 1000’s of these are being left at city dumps. WHAT A WASTE. :-( It is very indicative of what type of company LG is when they do absolutely nothing about it and keep selling the product anyway. I will never ever buy an LG product ever again and I will tell every person I can to do the same.
I am so fed up with my two LG front load washers which I purchased in August, 2006. 1 1/2 years ago the cold water valve had to be replaced in #1 washer. Six months ago, the hot water valve had to be replaced in #2 washer. Today the cold water valve had to be replaced in #1 washer again. I paid over $2,000.00 for these washers. Doesnt anything last more than 4 years? Next time Im buying top loading, cheap washers so when they break, I will just throw them out and buy new ones.
Within the warranty window, refrigerator ceased to work. LG set an appointment. That company called and changed appointment. Ok. Once I can manage. Same problem with fridge occurs, new appointment set, again company cancels and changes. In the interim, fridge stops working altogether. LG customer service takes the usual 10-12 minutes to answer and again long wait for appointment. Three days out! Company La Mesa Appliance, again cancels and changes appointment. LG provides no help or support.
It is customizable to meet the needs and time that I have. It does a great job with every fabric type. I like the speed wash function when time is an issue. The choice to have or not to have music and the decibel too as a choice is appreciated for completion of a load.
