The lint screen pops up and a corner of a piece of clothing will catch and twist and roll until it is a huge wad of clothing. It is very difficult to undo the wad and has ruined several pieces of clothing. My husband took his time to follow a YouTube fix to no avail. And since the lint screen doesnt sit snugly it allows lint to get into the dryer so its a fire hazard.

After our purchase of LG refrigerator, the compressor failed 15 months after purchase date. We had it replaced costing us 400.00 labor. It failed again 5 months later and it will cost another 400.00 for labor but how long will it last? After losing everything in refrigerator twice! Im not going to have it repaired. Im buying a new one. And it wont be an LG. Anything that is rebranding by LG anything that looks like an LG anything that has an L or a G in its name.

The ridiculous LG HDTV refrigerator, no replacement parts - Wayne Park, President of LG headquarters in New Jersey, has not returned my numerous phone calls to repair/replace their digital refrigerator of tomorrow. Folks, this refrigerator has serious functionality issues and LGs customer service told me that there are no replacement parts anywhere in the world, not even in Malaysia. Life is not good in our kitchen and I am still waiting for Wayne Park to call me to replace this ridiculous, expensive, non-functional refrigerator.

Had this product for under 5 years. Most appliances I expect to last 8 to 10 years. Anyways, first very minor complaint - all the letters for buttons completely wore off. I wasnt touching them really...they just wore off so now its hard to tell what buttons are what...there is nothing next to them. Im a mom of 3 super-active kids and laundry is done all the time in my house. One day I started to smell a burning smell. It worried me so I contacted a repairman. He said he has problems with dryers not WASHERS. So he tried to recreate it by running several loads...felt stupid - He never smelt it again, but gave me his card and said call if it happens again. So it did a day later. he came back out. Opened up the top and saw nothing near the mechanical piece at the end of the washer. Smelled nothing after several loads. He said, Well make your loads smaller and of the same weight, That way there is nothing off balance. He assured me that if there was a problem the circuit would break if it got too hot. Well I threw a load in and went upstairs talking to my son. I came down and there were smoke fumes everywhere spurting out from the drum of the washing machine. Had I not come down and stopped it -- my house would have burnt down. I unplugged the machine quickly, opened all doors on a frigid winter day, and brought a fan to get fumes out of our house. Every person even the repair man and the guy at Lowes when I was looking at new washers said he had NEVER heard of a washing machine catch on fire. But from what I have read online its a common occurrence for the drums of washing machines on HE washers to get out of balance and cause fires because they spin so fast...WHY ARE THEY NOT FIXING THIS PROBLEM!!! We could have been killed by this.

I purchased my LG front loading washing machine in January, 2011. I followed the manufacturing guidelines to clean and take proper care. I also left the door ajar to lessen odors. NOTHING they suggested helped with the black slime and odor. What a BIG disappointment after I researched to find a good washing machine. How can they say the problem was resolved. Thats a total lie. Why arent companies held responsible for defective designs and extremely poor quality merchandise. Consumers spend a lot of time and money researching for quality products.

Purchased my washer machine 1/3/08. The drum in my washer stopped turning, no warning lights of any kind came on. Called LG and because I didnt get their extent warranty, my washer repair for parts only was going to be $500.00 plus not including labor. I had to use my daughter Lowes card to buy another washer. Having a washer for only 2 year paying $880.11 from Home Depot. Called LG customer services and LG Customer interactive Center. They said my model washer was made in 2006, dont know what that had to do with anything because been made in 2006 and with me purchasing it in 2008, my washer shouldve lasted long then that. Please can someone help me? Dont understand how big company get a way with beating us out of our money and nothing can be done. Angry! There is a defect with this washer!

I am very upset and very frustrated! I bought a full suite of LG kitchen appliances just over 2 years ago from HHGregg and invested in a 5 year (HHGregg premium) warranty to cover all of the appliances. In just 2 short years I am having trouble with all of my appliances and am currently waiting on a service call from HHGregg (whom I will never buy appliances from ever again). Found out today that the HHGregg warranty is not as good as the paper on which it is written! One complaint is the LG microwave oven. It stopped working (the plate will no longer rotate and will not heat up). Apparently, there is a default in the design of the LG microwave ovens that fit over the stove. The heat from the stove causes the microwave system to stop working. LG and HHGregg should replace my malfunctioned microwave oven with one without this flaw! No LG told me to contact HHGregg! HHGregg offered me only a 200.00 store credit! This cost does not replace my microwave! I feel robbed by LG and by HHGregg! Shame on both these companies!!!

My husband and I made the commitment to purchase an LG fridge for $2700. When we called to cancel the transaction due to poor customer service with LG and Sears via Consumer Reports Reviews, the salesman just said, Yes. I know. He was willing to make a poor sell for a few dollars more than to steer us in the direction of a better fridge and good experience that would resulted in us being repeat customers. We wish Montgomery Wards, where we purchased our last fridge, was still in business. ALSO, Standard TV and Appliance refused to meet or beat their competitors price even though they have a LARGE bill board right next to their entrance on Hall Blvd in Beaverton, Oregon. When we explained the problem with their integrity, false advertising, the store manager just made excuses. We made our final purchase at Lowes in Tigard and bought a Whirlpool.

We purchased two of these dryers from Durochers in Sylvania Ohio. The experience with Durochers was very bad. The customer service was horrible and they damaged our woodwork and cabinets during install and tried to leave it - when it was repaired it was a botch job. However this review is about the dryer itself. Due to a sensor it constantly turns off and does not leave clothes dry, I have to restart it almost three times to get clothes dry. I have tried every cycle. If you have towels it will take all day. Would not recommend these dryers.

The ice machine has broken. Pieces of plastic were coming out when you use the crush or ice cubes machine. My daughter and my husband almost choked on a big piece of plastic. I never had this problem before. I dont understand how it is broken. It also leaked in the front of the refrigerator and left puddles on the floor. What is going to be done about this problem? I have contacted customer service via the telephone and email, but have gotten nothing but excuses. Our 2-year old range is rusting, pitting and the enamel is wearing off from the grates sliding in and out. We have an extended warranty with GE, but they said our warranty doesnt cover the issues. They term this as cosmetic. We have had other stoves/ranges over the years and this has never happened. LG also states that cosmetic issues arent covered. In December of this past year, I wrote a letter and mailed it to a location in New Jersey which online had shown it as a corporate office, but never received a response. It would be appreciated if someone would acknowledge my concerns and receive some restitution. We bought five LG appliances in one week at The Home Depot and spent over $6000.00 and have no problems with the items. I hope someone could help us out!

Ive purchased many top of the line brands over time - never have I experienced such a poorly made product. After five years of trying to get the LG fridge to work, we had to finally give up. I bought LG model LMXS28626S on July 2018 because it was nice looking. On Aug. 9, 2021, it no longer cooling. I called customer service and at first she said I should pay. I insisted that it seems it is a compressor problem and the warranty for it is 5 years parts and labor. From where I live there was only 2 repair shop that was listed in the LG website, but only 1 answered. The technician installed a new universal compressor that was so loud. It turned out it was not configured correctly. The technician came back and I think tried but he just messed it up and it died.I searched for help and found a write up about LG and I am not alone. It seems that LG has a reputation on Bad product and customer service. I read that I can call executive services. I was able to talk to a person in executive services. I told her the technician they sent seems to not know how to fix my refrigerator. She said that she will set up an A&E technician. After 1 month on Sept. 8, the technician will come. If you want to have the chance to have this same BAD experience, then go ahead and buy an LG.

In my last LG fridge it had the see through door that lit up when you tapped it and I actually really like that feature. It saves power to not have to open the door to gaze into the fridge when unsure of what to eat. The only thing I disliked about it was how slow the water came out of the door. I dont know if this was a filter design problem or what but I tried everything to rectify the problem and nothing worked. Their technician said he was the only one for the area. Told me the range was functioning. I turned on the broiler several hours later and heard a strange humming noise followed by a loud bang. Range/broiler/oven light dont work at all.Repair technician said it would take a week to receive a new circuit board which I found online for 50 dollars and could have it expedited. The LG refrigerator was on a sale brand new and nothing was wrong with it. It was the first fridge I bought using my own credit card in my name. It has no issues what so ever mechanically. Stainless steel and I loved the organization options it has with it being huge. It had freezer drawers and fridge was sorted in a way even buying $1000 worth of food anyone could find anything without looking very hard. Best one bought yet. Love it! But it got dirty really fast, you can see the dirt without even looking very hard. The only thing is I can use water or simple cleaners to clean it. My parents and grandparents were looking for a fridge too and I recommended this fridge to both. 1 and 2 bought it and have said they love it. No issues at all and it matches with other appliances they have in their kitchen.

I will never buy another LG product again. This microwave needed major repairs within 18 months of my purchase. The first repair happened when it was still under warranty but I had to pay for service and when the second repair was needed, the warranty had expired. I called LG to ask for a warranty extension with the argument that a relatively new appliance should not need major repairs twice. In fact, the microwave I had replaced with the LG was over 10 years old and had never needed a repair. I replaced it because it was old looking and I was remodeling my kitchen. LG would not extend the warranty and the repair with service would cost more than replacing it. I argued that they should replace my microwave but was denied. Again, I will never buy an LG appliance again.

We had our home built 15 years ago and purchased GE appliances and decided in 2012 to upgrade to stainless steel. We purchased an LG microwave and a LG refrigerator.. Model LFX31925ST.... It was the biggest mistake we ever made. The first 6 months the microwave had to be repaired and now the refrigerator light is out in the water and ice dispenser area. In addition the ice maker no longer works. The Smart Diagnostics says the first time that we have opened the refrigerator frequently... There are no children in the house and we eat out. The second diagnostic report says we are not closing the door and air is escaping. We had the GE products and NEVER had a problem. The only issue was they were white. We are both retired law enforcement and have been asked by friends and relatives about the beautiful piece of junk in our kitchen. I have referred them to ANY brand but LG. We have an LG television and I am waiting to see what happens with it. We will get it repaired and probably put it in our rental property or donate it to the Goodwill. Your appliances ARE A PIECE OF JUNK. I am so angry because my husband wanted GE or Whirlpool... but no I chose LG. Believe me I hear about at least twice a day!!!! Extremely dissatisfied customer!

After several attempts of replacing the seal, I finally had the door replaced. Just yesterday, I found a crack in the drum of the dryer. Our LG washer was recalled, due to the agitator coming up out of the machine and injuring people. This happened apparently as a result of washing waterproof bedding. LG sent a repairman out, and he did nothing other than put a sticker on the washer that said not to wash waterproof items. This didnt work for us, as my little boy has asthma and needs his mattress covers washed. We proceeded to go shopping, possibly for another LG, but found that ALL LG washers have that warning. We ended up going for a different brand and I am glad we did because about 6 months later, our LG dryer started making this horrible clacking noise. Turned out the drier actually has a cracked drum.We called the LG company, and they said we had to have the receipt (from 4 years ago) or they cant help us. The manager actually hung up on me. We called the place that we got the dryer from, but they dont keep receipt records that long. We also tried our credit card company, and their records only go back to 2011. Stay far, far, away from any LG products. This company makes defective equipment, knows it, and then makes it impossible for you to meet their requirements for them to repair the defects. If you think you may want an LG device, please look at all the bad reviews and horror stories. It takes just a simple Google search.

LG20770ST french door 19.7 30 refrigerator - Less than 2 years old, a flimsy 1.5 inch spring on left door flap broke. Fortunately bought 5-year ext. warr. at R.C. Willey. Submitted claim on Willey site on 7/21/14, but had to call after 1 week. Service co. had 3 parts on backorder from LG with no ETA. (3 parts for a tiny spring? I sent them pics with claim). After 2 wks called Willey ext warr dept. They are very nice and helpful. They contacted LG, found the part irreplaceable (DO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE) and Willey is replacing the refrigerator with the same model. This is the only one I found that fits in my tiny area. I have to buy a new warranty ($129 for 5 years), but worth it as the replacement may have the same problem and I may find myself in the same situation a couple years from now. Another problem with this fridge is there is no sensor on the ice maker for when the freezer drawer is open, and if you have bad timing the ice maker releases the ice even though the drawer is pulled out. Results are you are digging the ice from below the drawer. Who designed this thing? Long story short, save yourself a lot of trouble and buy a different brand.

It took 3 times for them to come back and put the counter on properly. Silestone felt bad for us and told us to get any of their countertops, so we picked out a different color that happened to be their most expensive. Silestone also told us we could have any edging we wanted, no matter what the cost, so we updated our edging to one of the most expensive. Silestone had no problem with any of this. Then we had Home Depot replace on of our bathroom floors. The installer put the floor in just fine, but also broke our toilet and told us sorry and left. We had to go and buy a new toilet ourselves and install it. Home Depot finally paid for the replacement and labor of the new toilet. I called Home Depots corporate office who gave us a store credit of $1500. We used that money to buy the LG French Door refrigerator. Needless to say 4 years later it broke down. I called Home Depot for them to send us a copy of the store credit that was used for the refrigerator. They were not able to find it in the system since I did not know the exact date of purchase. No receipt or paperwork were given to us. Now the contractor for LG will not honor the 7-year limited warranty and we will have to pay for parts and labor to fix the unit. Prior to getting this LG unit, we had a side-by-side GE Profile fridge. It was about 8 years old when it started to give us minor problems, but it still worked. We got the LG fridge since we had this credit and wanted a French Door Fridge without the water and ice like the GE one had. We never expected this LG unit to have such serious problems at only 4 years old. Very disappointed with this issue. If the service call costs too much, this Fridge will be going and we will go with another manufacturer. LG will never be a company we do service with again. Home Depot will also never have our business again with all the problems we have had with the major updates to our house we purchased from them.

I am so upset with LG Fridge and LG customer service. I bought my fridge in July 2011 and purchased 5 year extended warranty from HD. During that time we replaced compressor (June 2013). Today I had to pay $500 labor fee to replace a compressor again (the part it is still under 10 year warranty). I am devastated. I called LG and they were extremely nice repeated memorized sentences, when I was finally connected to a supervisor (20 minutes on hold). She was rude and impatient. Never had to deal with this kind of attitude. I would never buy anything from LG. I like class lawsuit idea. They should have a recall and waive charges related to replacing the same parts, obviously it is manufacturer poor quality.

Top of the line did not last 3 years. It stopped getting cold. We know that happens but the customer service is the worst I have ever seen. I have been on the phone for 2 days now at least 5 hours and they first scheduled a repair with MODERN APPLIANCE SERVICE who said they would be here between 8 and 12 pm on Wed and at 11 pm on Wed they called us to inform us it would be 7 days before they could have someone here. We called LG back again and again and now they will call us back when their scheduling dept finds someone to look at it. Our son has diabetes and has to keep his insulin cold and thats not happening and LG could care less. We are buying ice to keep it cold. No one has called us back and we have talked to with 3 managers so far and no one has called us back and we have no service date yet. Wonder how long this will go on? I am getting ready to call them again and spend today on the phone begging for help after spending $4000 on a Refrigerator. Update. We took their phone survey after their 10th call and said we were not happy with the results of the call and they had the ** to call us right back tell me they did not appreciate the review or deserved the low score on the review I gave them. Now we still have a $4000 refrigerator that is not working, cant get anyone to fix it for any amount of money and they have time to call me and tell me they did not like my review. I am speechless. It seems they are not going to help us and I am not sure they will call back now. I think I am going to have to place these reviews every hour until I get some attention. So be it.

I just wanted to write and tell you that I will never buy an LG appliance again. Had a refrigerator for 10 years and all of a sudden the compressor breaks and it’s $800 to fix it. They said the warranty ran out 6 months ago. Bought the matching stove with it 10 years ago and I’ve already had to have it serviced twice. Bought a flat screen for my wall and that broke after 5 years. You do nothing to help your customers and it’s impossible to get a hold of anyone. Horrible company!!

Ordered an LG fridge in December because its the only one that will fit in the space I have. Suppose to be delivered on Jan 19, 2019... The night before I got a call saying it wont be delivered because they dont have it. After many calls and the runaround I found out it was a system error and I will get my new fridge in a week. Still no fridge and still getting the runaround from customer service saying I shouldnt be calling them, Home Depot should... This is the worst company to deal with and I would love to return this fridge before it ever gets here. If it ever does! I am running a family of four and working full time with a beer fridge lent to me by Home Depot! Totally ridiculous, and very unacceptable. They are offering no compensation for my time or inconvenience of not having a fridge I ordered and paid for already!!!

Purchased a freezer on the bottom, French door on top refrigerator that ran for six months. When I called LG to repair, I was told originally that I was not in their repair area (A&E). After much discussion, they decided to send someone out (from Sears, not A&E) and my earliest appointment was three weeks away. I had to rent a refrigerator. When they called to say they would be there after lunch, I made the wrong assumption that it would be at least 12:30 to 1:00 pm. Wrong, they got there at 12:15, I did not get there until 12:30 after leaving work. I was not aware that 12:15 was considered after lunch. They would not come back and now I had to wait another three weeks for someone. Again they will not tell me what time they will arrive, just between 8 and 5, even though I requested an afternoon appointment rather than take off all day from work. Very unsatisfied with the service of the refrigerator and the service of their outside repair contractor. If parts have to be ordered, it will be additional time on top of the six weeks I have already waited.

We just 1 month later that same part went out again!! The guy who installed it said LG needed to give approval for him to fix it for free this time but LG refuses! They are saying I have to pay labor yet again even though the part they sent me was bad! That is totally unfair! I should not have to pay double labor because THE PART THEY SENT ME WAS BAD! I will NEVER buy from them again. Worst customer service ever! The lady on the phone said well how do I know the service guy is telling the truth... maybe he fixed it wrong. IT WAS AN LG CERTIFIED SERVICE GUY!!! I told her to send someone else out to look and she refused!!

The LG TROMM washing machine is a horrible waste of money. LG must have put all their efforts into making a machine that appears to be a high tech, environmentally friendly machine without actually testing it. The clothes stink when they come out so you have to run empty clean cycles frequently which, of course, waste water and energy (hot water cycle). The safety latch errors outweigh too much. Their customer service department (barely spoke English when I called) told me to unplug it and wait for five minutes. I will not buy another LG product and I will encourage everyone I can to do the same.

The buzzer letting us know it was done was very quiet, but the microwave itself was very loud and annoying (rumbling, rattling and humming). The biggest set back is the touch panel, it is impossible to see the settings since there is no backlight. Unit seems to get very hot as well.

In November 2007, I bought a beautiful, shiny, black French-door refrigerator (model LFC25760SB). In the last 1 1/2 year, it is slowly falling apart. The wide sliding tray cover falls off every time you open it. The digital sensor control has separated from the roof about 1 1/2 inch, blocking all products when using top shelves. This has caused the malfunction of the temperature controls. It has also caused the plastic clear cover snap out of place. Not to mention, it warped from the heat of the light bulb. I have replaced it twice! Now, the rubber stripping is shredding apart at the top, making opening/closing the doors near impossible. I bought this product, replacing a nice GE side-by-side refrigerator I bought in 1989 that was working perfectly! I was just sick of it and wanted a newly updated appliance. Lets just say this - I am pissed at Best Buy and LG for selling the worst piece of crap I have ever owned. I wont even get into the problems I had when 2 incompetent employees delivered this useless ice box! You, people at LG, are nothing but lying, cheating thieves who pray on hardworking Americans! I will never ever buy from you again! When this refrigerator finally has died (which will be shortly), I will go back to GE and get a reliable product. Your products are junk!

I did buy warranty, but before it expired I called to tell them about the rust. Conns said that is a manufacture problem, they only repair. So I didnt renew it. Now the tub makes horrible noise when washing rinsing. And clothes comes out soggy. I called LG yesterday, I thought maybe they could do the Smart Diagnostic and let me know what machine needs. They said if they did the diagnostic it would mess up the machine?? For them to send a Tech out it will cost $414 with one year maintenance or $302 for 60 day warranty. So disappointed, I might as well go buy a new one.

LG Refrigerator model number LFXS30766S/02 - Retail Cost $3,799. topped working on 6/11/2017. It was Purchased on 7/9/2015. The unit was only 23 Months old. Compressor is Defective and there seem to be another issue with it. As an Engineer, I tested the Refrigerator myself and determined Compressor has completely failed. I called LG Service department to let them know that the Compressor is bad and it needs to be replaced. The Compressor is under 10 Year warranty. I was notified that a technician needed to come out and verify this. I was given 2 options: 1. I needed to pay Approximately $345 (I do not remember the exact amount, but it was this high) to come out just to look at it and fix the issue, but this will be a one-shot deal. Or Option 2. $459 to come out and verify, Fix the issue and then have it covered again under warranty for another year.I do not understand why I need to pay these amounts for something that is covered in warranty. Especially when I am reading all over the internet that this particular Compressor, Ice trays and circuit boards are Failing at an extremely high rate. I ended up having to pay $459 to have a technician come out to say that I was correct and they needed to order a new one. Its now 3 Months later and I do not have a refrigerator. We have given up on LG. Never again. Pass the word around. Do not wait on them to do the right thing. We ended up purchasing a Kenmore Refrigerator for the family. For the cost we paid for the LG, you would expect a quality product. But it seems like LG is using the US Market as a dumping ground for their defective items.

We purchased a top load LG washer from Home Depot. We were told how energy efficient it was, saving water and time, spinning the clothing so dry it would take less drying time, and that all washers would soon be made without agitators. They were on sale, so we purchased one. Big mistake! I have to run all loads on heavy duty and extra rinse just to get enough water in the machine to get the clothes clean and get most of the detergent out (No, I dont put in too much detergent). This takes 76 minutes, no matter the size of load, which most are small to medium to be sure the clothes get clean. It has also started knocking and getting off balance. I cant wait to get rid of this washer and would never recommend this type to anyone.

It is a basic fridge with no special features: comes standard ice maker. It has the side by side freezer and cooler which is nice in its self. First of all, these products need to be simplified on the manufacturing to save the environment. I dislike the fact that I did not get any cool features, I do have a basic model. I wanted a smart fridge, but you have to make a ton of money in order to afford one decent feature. I dislike the fact that certain features do not come as standard. I initially chose this product due to the price and not the features. In 2019, they should really have standard luxury features. I will NEVER purchase a LG product. My sister purchased a brand new refrigerator and it stopped working properly after 2 weeks. Around week two she started getting an error code on the freezer control panel and the door alarm started ringing even when the fridge and freezer were closed. She contacted LG and they promised to send out a technician. The first technician came out could not fix the issue and said the door had to be replaced. She waited another two weeks for the door to arrive. The tech came back out to replace the door. Within 2 hours of the technician leaving, the error code returned. She contacted LG once again and a tech was sent out. He said another part needed to be ordered, a month went by before the part arrived. After receiving the part she had to call LG once again and was promised the tech would return. That never happened. She has scheduled two appointments since then and the technician has failed to show. This has been dragging on for three months and the issue still is not resolved. The customer service reps in the warranty departments have poor dispositions and the bottom line is she spent over $1500 for a refrigerator that stopped working properly after 2 weeks. I dont understand why LG has not fixed or replaced the refrigerator. Why is it so hard to get something to simply do what you paid for it to do? LG why have you not resolved the issue? Buyers beware, because this surely could be you.

I have a 31 cu ft. French Door LG refrigerator that I spent a lot of money on over 4 years ago and the compressor suddenly went out. Luckily I have a warranty for 10 years for major components, but lo and behold it does not cover labor. The 45 minutes of labor was $600. I am shocked for several reasons: I cant believe an expensive appliance less than 5 years old would have a compressor which needs replacement, its unbelievable to have to pay $600 in labor for 45 minutes of work although I have a warranty. I also own an LG Steam Washer/Front Loader and matching dryer. The washer also needed repairs (which I had to pay parts and labor for) after a couple of years of ownership. These are definitely the LAST LG appliances, electronics, etc I purchase. In the future, I hope to find a company who cares about their customers and stands by their products.

My LG washer turned itself on when I was not at home. It filled up with water and because it was not in a cycle the door wasnt locked so the pressure from the water pushed the door open and the water continued to pour out. I came home to my house being flooded, water went through my vents and into my crawlspace. When the repairman came he witnessed the washer doing it all over again! I called LG, they told me to get 2 estimates, send them pictures, fill out documents and send them my old parts and I did. I thought they were going to help. I am now going into my 6th week of them leading me on to believe they are going to help me. They keep saying they have to do testing then they said they had to send the main control panel to Korea for further testing. I have over 30,000 in damages, my daughter is allergic to mold and not one person at LG gives a hoot! I am setting my LG washer & dryer at the end of my driveway (its 3 years old) I will never ever purchase anything with those initials on it again! Their customer service is as bad as their product! Oh it also leaks water from underneath during wash cycle too. The lady asked me at one point what cycle was your washer in when it leaked. I said AGAIN my washer was not in a CYCLE and it did not LEAK. It turned itself on, filled with water and sent out about 70 gallons of water. If you want to know what cycle my washer was in.... ask the washer! I had it on OFF!

LG WASHER WT5001CW SERIAL 006KWWZ00297 - We purchased this EXPENSIVE washer in December 2010 before my auto accident and I had a great job. We loved it while it was working properly!!!! Now 4 1/2 years later, I am disabled and my wife of 32 years left. I live on very little thru no fault of my own and now this washer has been down for 5 weeks. Approx a year ago, we started having trouble with excessive vibration thru all cycles. This machine does not have an agitator and is a top load wave force washer. We called LG and found out it was under recall. LG sent techs out and changed out the main computer board free of charge. We noticed that the cycles got longer and we still had a vibration although it was better. We were told that it would get better over time. It did not so we just lived with it. Then 5 weeks ago my daughter came to wash clothes for me. During a rinse cycle, it sounded like the world came to an end. Upon inspection, the entire pulsator assy. came apart (bottom plate, center cap and center bolt) and hit the glass top. After dealing with LG multiple times, finally, a tech was sent out. It was the same guy who had previously change out the computer board. He got on the phone with his company and scheduled a repair tech. A week later, he shows up wanting an upfront payment (NOT!!!!!) so he left. I called LG. Now they say there is no record of our contacting them. I have begged these folks for help. Finally I got a number of an authorized LG repair person locally. Now it seems that the main bearing has gone out and most likely for what its gonna cost to fix this washer is over half what I paid for it - SERIOUSLY????????? The machine is 4 1/2 years old and if this is what service and longevity LG products now have, then I have bought my last one - I can go back to a brand new standard washer for what it will cost to fix this thing. SHAME ON YOU LG!!!!! I understand all things can break down, but your customer service is now CRAP.

My LG French Door refrigerator was just under 2 years old when it stopped cooling. Bought it on 9/15/2015, and it died on 9/10/2017. Called LG to find a certified repair person, and not a one would provide service to me as I was outside their service area. This was despite only being 30 minutes away from a Home Depot from whom I bought it. I went round and round with LG on how to service this refrigerator and their lack of repair service. The closest certified LG repair shop would not repair LG compressors! Really!! LG gave me the OK to use a local repairman, they diagnosed it as the compressor, which it was, but would not touch it. Another local repairman told me no one wants to service these refrigerators. Finally found an LG repairman farther away than 4 others who would not service it, and he charged me $750 labor (due to mileage of 70 miles) to come out and fix the compressor which was under warranty. He told me that this compressors are cheap foreign made units and do not expect them to last more than 7-10 years. He said the LG refrigerators are poorly made, but pretty on the outside. Dont buy an LG refrigerator due to this well known problem, and the fact that LG certified service is not available even though they are sold nearby. We purchased an LG French door stainless refrigerator in September of 2016
We purchased an LG French door stainless refrigerator in September of 2016 (did not take delivery until mid October). On September 19, 2018 we woke up to a defrosting freezer and non-functioning refrigerator, in under two full years of use. LG customer service told me the part is covered under the sealed system warranty, but labor is not. They offered to cover labor “as a courtesy,” but they did not have a technician available. They gave me the phone number of an authorized repair center and an “APN” number, but when I called I was told they are not currently taking repairs for LG because they have a 3 WEEK backlog.I called LG back and they gave me the only 3 other authorized repair centers in the state of Colorado. Two don’t actually work on refrigerators and the third offered to come out in a week. Took the appointment but called LG back and was told I could call try to find someone to fix it sooner, but they would only cover labor through their providers. When I told them I can’t afford refrigerator repair on a product I bought in good faith that has failed in under two years, I was told “that’s not on LG.”I kept the appointment, sat home all day yesterday (9/25/18) waiting for my 1-3PM repair window, expecting a working fridge by dinner time. At 3:30 the provider arrived, looked at the fridge, said “yep, your compressor is shot. It’ll take 3 days to get the part, then we’ll get you on the schedule for repair. Just understand we’re very busy and seeing a ton of these, so we’re trying to get at least one repaired daily.” So I have no idea how long it’s going to take. My family of 7 is living out of a dorm sized (Whirlpool) fridge. I’m going to the store up to 3 times a day to get food I can make immediately and a half gallon of milk at a time for my 5 kids. We bought an entire kitchen suite of LG appliances at the same time and are now terrified they’re all going to fail and it won’t be “on LG.” As I’m sharing with friends, at least 3 have had the same issue, one within the month and her fridge was newer than mine.

Purchased the Gas Range from Home Depot June, 2009. The knobs to turn the gas on/off are very loose and make it difficult to adjust gas. It is not only an inconvenience but also a safety hazard. On a few occasions, I found the gas still on when I know I had turned it off after cooking. Called their customer service dept. Mine is not one of the models that CS is allowed to send replacement parts to. To purchase knobs online would cost over $63/ea. Unit has been maintained very well. One user. No children in the home. Life of this appliance is very short compared to other stoves I have had. Neither Home Deport nor LG seem to care one bit.

Bought a TV in August 2020. After 3 repair attempts over 6 months, LG finally agreed to refund my money. With much effort, I packed up the TV and sent it back months ago and still havent seen my refund. Had three repair attempts on my refrigerator and its finally fixed (I guess). But were still out $750 for lost food. Now, my 27 month old dishwasher has a control problem and rusted out rack. Both controls and rack have a 5 year warranty but I have to call some appliance-fix-it place to get them to look at it. I bet I get no repair, no parts no-nothing and a lot of wasted time for this. I have $15,000 worth of LG equipment in this house and they arent the least bit interested in helping me. I wont buy another piece of equipment from them again.

We had an LG refrigerator installed in our home in late 2018. It quit working this past Sunday. I have spent at least 5 hours on the phone so far with no help at all. At the time of this writing I am on the phone for an hour and still on hold. I have called all of the companies on the LG service and they refuse to handle any calls with LG-Lousy Garbage, as LG has not been paying them. LG told me to call any appliance service and see if they would come and fix it???? I am ready to eat the $2300.00 and get this garbage out of my house. If I could give a minus in their rating, it would be negative 100. Whatever you do, read all of the bad reviews and buy a dependable appliance. I know I will get an automated response from Lousy Garbage. Lowes is trying to get me a return from LG. I am not holding my breath. I would be dead before this attempt to resolve this issue is dealt with. BUYERS BEWARE- Joe **

About 5 years ago I spent thousands on an LG double door fridge/freezer and the washer/dryer combo. The fridge motor died 2 xmases ago and as they were shut, we lost $4-500 worth of food. Then there was an issue with the washer within 2 yrs., cant remember exactly what. Had that fixed. A few days ago I noticed one of the internal arms inside the washer had come off. I thought it was just a case of hubby screwing it back in. NO. The whole machine has to be taken apart to fix. The other arms are loose too. Its cheaper for us to buy a new washing machine. Its 5 yrs old. Im beyond furious. Never buy LG. Its JUNK.

Worst experience I have had as a consumer - ever. I ordered an LG microwave 1/3/18 through a third-party, AJ Madison. It was delayed weeks (not LGs fault), when I finally received it and plugged it in it had a code of death - F11. It never worked, not even ONE SECOND. That was middle of March. Its now May 3, 2018. I have sent in repeated receipts, responded to their letters, requests for more information, taken pictures, cut up serial numbers, signed declarations that I did in fact buy the microwave. Gotten the third party involved and had them try on my behalf to no avail! They now want me to send them a receipt having bought a second one of these before theyll send me my money back for the January 3, 2018 purchase! Im on hold again with LG, 26 minutes into it and the customer service wants to explain the process to me - youve got to be kidding me. LG, as a very American, cooperative consumer who has purchased 14 appliances in the last year and done lots of shopping - this is the WORST customer service experience I have ever had!

Bought Sears Kenmore Model 795*77319600 (During troubleshooting I discovered this unit was made by LG for Sears!) in Oct 2007. Sequence of failure(s): 1st) Nov 2007 Upper freezer drawer basket rail bracket tabs crack - I used nylon zip ties to hold basket in place. 2nd) Apr 2008: Lower freezer drawer bin divider cracked at top edge. - Lived with defect, hoping it would hold. Repaired crack by splicing it with a plastic reinforcement plate in Aug 2014. 3rd) June 2010: Refrigerator lights fail, no plastic melted, nor food spoilage - I researched and found numerous similar customer complaints and LG recommended fix. I removed light cover lens, and both light bulbs, and used fridge w/o light! 4th) July 2014: Freezer no longer makes ice, progressively temperature gets warmer, then refrigerator starts to stay warm - Decided not to involve Sears Customer Service for repair, but rather do it myself. $1200 fridge/freezer should not die @ 7 years! I did some research, found a similar model service manual online, did some troubleshooting of the cooling/freezing system - sensor(s), and defrost timer. Found R134a to be too low. Fixed it myself for $35. Maybe I can get 7 more years @ $5 per year out of this LG piece of junk! I sympathize with my fellow Americans. Consumer trust has declined due to cheap poorly designed products... Whats the reason? Greed, Lack of Pride, Lack of Accountability. Make junk so we can buy more sooner? What would our ancestors think?

It was submitted on the 28th. But the repairman said it was ship on the 29th. Whos lying or they working together. 10/7/16... Call today. Check on the status of my claim. Waiting on the other 15mins. Came back on the phone to tell me they reject my review because they ship the compressor. I ask him if know they ship my compressor why was it in review. He said he didnt know. As of today still no compressor and we living out of a lil small office refrigerator and a cooler for ice. Something gotta been done with LG. With all these complaints somebody help us!!!

Bad Service - 38 months old French Door with dual ice makers and the in door ice maker fails. It makes ice but cannot seem to get them to fall when it turns to empty without getting stuck and making a clicking noise. I called LG and they connected me to an LG authorized service center 70 miles away. The service center called the day they were to arrive and asked me how I was going to pay. I asked for an estimate and was informed that ice makers cannot be repaired as LG does not fix ice makers but only replaces them for a cost of $500. The reason that was provided is they are made in Korea. What a bunch of BS from the authorized service center. I just canceled the order for all LG products on the new home going up. I would not take the chance with their product again.

We purchased our LG refrigerator in December 2012. It was a bottom freezer unit with French doors in stainless steel. A 36 inch wide model that set us back just over $1200. It was a good looking appliance with nice features but not very durable. In November 2018, just weeks before Thanksgiving, the compressor failed. I got online and read numerous horror stories about dealing with LG to have the unit repaired. I was coming up with estimates of around $900 to repair. We found the quickest way to solve our problem was to write it off as a bad decision and get something else. When we were purchasing our new one, not affiliated with LG of course, the salesperson at the store said her LG only lasted two years. I guess we were fortunate to get almost six years before ours gave up the ghost. I have heard newer appliances are not as durable as older models. But something this costly should last for at least ten years if it is taken care of.

I am completely shocked at the lack of accountability LG is demonstrating in our failed refrigerator compressor. We bought this refrigerator from Home Depot three years ago and the compressor failed in June of this year. When I called LG (who documents that they warranty their compressors for 10 years!), they directed me to their rip-off extended warranty department who charged me $450.00 for an extended warranty. After the service person came out and let them know it was the compressor, they said the parts are unavailable and they canceled my warranty without my permission, refunding my credit card MINUS $100.00 for the service person who diagnosed the problem! The contract of the warranty states they cannot cancel my warranty unless they give me 30 days notice in writing. After all of this happened I did some research online and it appears that our refrigerator is a lemon and LG is taking no responsibility for selling thousands of crappy appliances. We have spent hours on hold and hours talking to customer service people at LG who have no authority to do anything to help us. I am so disillusioned with this company and will stick to GE for any future appliance purchases. Hopefully this review will save someone else the frustration of dealing with LG.

I like that its energy-efficient, easy to clean, quiet, and overall dependable unlike leading competitors. Fit well in the kitchen, not too tall. I liked the water filter and dispenser inside the refrigerator and the spacious shelving that was easy to clean - made of clear plastic not barred plastic. It was top door freezer and bottom door fridge and did not have enough room. Nor enough room for leftovers or storage which is much needed in families larger than 3.

After reading review after review on this site detailing the same issues I have had with my $3000 LG French door refrigerator, I will not waste time with detailing the issues I have had with this trash LG product. Same no-customer-service response from LG; the service company they gave us hasn’t worked for them for 2 years! We finally had to go directly to Home Depot to get a service repair person to come and look at our refrigerator. It has been two weeks without my refrigerator and hopefully it will get fixed today. But according to the other reviews that I read that may not be the last of my problems with this refrigerator. I am not hopeful. This is the second LG refrigerator that has had this problem; Home Depot, who has pretty decent Customer Service, replaced this same exact refrigerator one year ago. That refrigerator was only a year old when this exact same problems of the compressor going out occurred. The repairmen who are here today said they have been extremely busy lately repairing LG refrigerators with this problem! I am SO frustrated! I feel like someone has stolen thousands of dollars from me! DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS!!!

Bought this in 2014. Had never washed worth a darn. I paid over $900 on this piece of junk. The fact that I have to start out on the bulky setting till it fills up, then turn it off, restarting it on power cleanse to get the clothes to move around makes it not so energy efficient! If not used in this manner, the lack of water causes the clothing to rub against each other causing pilling of the material. Doesnt clean properly either. I have a LG washer and dryer, both are four years old. I’ve been having intermittent issues with the washer not spinning/throwing a code. Three months ago I called LG to ask who the authorized repair rep is for my area (I do not live in a remote area). Two separate phone calls and 45 minutes out of my life and still they could not tell me who to call in my area. I finally emailed again about a month later and was provided two possibilities, one of them does not service my area. By the time I got a repair, the washer was completely seized and cannot be repaired. The washer went to the dump today. An email to the VP of service in Canada four days ago has not even been acknowledged. Absolutely deplorable customer care and more aggravation than it’s worth.

From day 1, my machine leaked. I called and was told it was due to using too much detergent. I thought that may be the problem and used below the normal line every cycle. Still sporadically, there are leaks below the machine. As I called and was told over and over again, my machine is fine. I let my machine go out of warranty. Now beyond leaking, it stops mid-cycle often so I have to sit next to the machine while washing clothes to restart it and finish cycles. Beyond that, sometimes it gets stuck at 9 minutes left and starts spinning and stops spinning over and over again. Beyond that, when it is filling up, the valves close so quickly it causes all the pipes in my house to shake and bang causing leaks in pipes. Something needs to be done about this. LG should stand behind their product.

We purchased an LG front loading washer and dryer in February 2010 at Best Buy. Recently the mother board went out on the DLE2350W dryer ($350 replacement cost) only to find out that in Canada, LG warranties this item for three years and in the United States only 1 year. After visiting with the recommended LG repair service, we have found that this is a common problem and can go out even after one year.I have reviewed several blogs that have customer reviews and found a common theme in that LG has very poor post-sale product service. Im safe to say we will not buy another LG product and will recommend to others not to as well. We have always had excellent service from Sears and will return to them once again. If you do your due diligence and review customer comments, you will find my views are shared by many. This is unfortunate for a company whose tag is Living Good.

It often takes an entire day to do one load of laundry because this LG top load washer WT4870CW cannot balance itself and vibrates severely and smacks into the wall. Often, when I try to rebalance a load, the load seems to be already balanced, but the machine does not think it is balanced. This HE machine is supposed to save water, but the water constantly runs as the machine tries to balance at the spin at the end of the wash and during the rinse cycle. I have tried to contact LG several times through their online portal and they ignore my requests for service, or send me a video about how to balance the machine (the machine is level). Now going through the calling them phase of trying to get this resolved. I hate this machine and wish I had never bought it. It does not work as intended and LG is falsely advertising this machine as a water saving appliance because the water seems to run the entire wash. Do not buy this machine!!!

Do NOT buy any NEW Washing machine with a Load Sensor! It senses the weight
Do NOT buy any NEW Washing machine with a Load Sensor! It senses the weight of the load and determines what amount of water to add to wash the clothes. Since the Government has to be involved with every aspect of our lives to save energy & conserve water, this device is crap! There is never enough water to wash the clothes and the clothes do NOT come clean. This mandate has sent us back to the early 1900s way of doing laundry with an old wash tub, scrub board & old soap that actually cleans the clothes!!! I cant afford to buy new clothes every month & refuse to wear dirty clothes! Only way around it.... Luckily I have a wash sink next to my washer. As I put clothes into the tub, I run the faucet hose over to the washer & wet the clothes as I put them in the washer. This creates a heavy load & as the sensor weighs the load, it is heavier and adds the right amount of water to wash the clothes!!! I have a glass lid so I can stand there & watch the water level. Unbelievable that the Government tells the Manufacturers how to build a washer with devices we dont need or want!!! Doing laundry for over 45 years, I am bright enough to know a small, medium or large load and able to determine my own water level for the appropriate washing cycle. If you dont have a wash sink, you will have to wash your clothes TWICE! So much for saving water. What morons we have running the United States of America!!

If you catch them and rewash with bleach, they become light brown stains, but dont go away. It doesnt happen all the time, but often enough to completely frustrate us. We always use the detergents, no softeners and some liquid bleach. We run the tub clean cycle once a month and wipe out the nasty black gunk from the gasket regularly. A few days after microwave was installed, little dents started to appear on top panel. When I called customer service about this problem, they told me that it must be my fault that the dents are appearing--really??? The range knobs have melted and stripped, so now I have to use a pliers to turn the stove on or off. They did send replacement knobs the first time it happened. Now when I call again because of this defect, they tell I have to purchase them at the tune of several hundred dollars!! And by the way, the supervisor I spoke to was nasty!! Purchased an LG refrigerator appx 4 years ago. Stopped working, not cooking. Called numerous repair providers to see if they can fix. Nobody I can find would look at LG product. Called LG directly to see if they can find someone that I can call. Ended up purchasing an out of warranty contract through LG called Assurant. For 2 months now I have had a non-working refrigerator. I have had numerous providers get scheduled to come to my home only for them to not show leaving me having to keep calling Assurant. I was advised by Assurant that it is from LG that they get the list of service providers so they have no way of knowing anything about them except the location to my home. Finally 2 months later and 3 service providers I was informed that my refrigerator was going to cost too much for LG to repair and they would total it out. The coolant system was shot along with the compressor. When you call to check the status of getting this taken care of I am told that they do not have anyone certified to fix the coolant system. But I was granted permission to find my own service provider to come out and fix it but the catch... not only would I have to pay out of pocket, while the provider was at my home I had to call Assurant and have the provider speak to them in order for them to reimburse me for services. I said that was unacceptable. A supervisor informed me that since the refrigerator is less than 7 years old and its the sealant system, LG would be responsible for replacing it.Again, I get on the phone with LG to file a claim for a defected item. After 4 days of not hearing anything I called today Only to be told by 2 supervisors that they cant do anything. I was given the option to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed but they denied my claim to have it replaced. Didnt matter what I said, the customer service at LG has the most disrespectful people.I am not in a position to pay $1200 out of pocket to try and get reimbursed and all they can say was, I cant help you. They do not want to acknowledge the fact that their product is defected and the sealant/coolant system is not working. They can provide names to me but wont pay for it because under my contract that they sold me, nobody is certified to do the work. So how am I supposed to have this fixed?? I have 3 kids and my husband needs to keep his medication refrigerated. So for 2 months after purchasing a contract, I have been keeping food cold in a cooler with ice. Totally unacceptable. All LG can say is sorry I do apologize . After just speaking to one of ten supervisors at LG, and stating that I will be contacting the better business bureau and consumer affairs she said, Go ahead, do what you want. Like I need her permission? No I need them to stand behind their product which they do not. So now I am told I can cancel my contract in writing and since they cant help me, they will refund all of $100 of the amount I paid. Still leaves me with no refrigerator and nobody at LG willing or able to look at something that is defected unless I choose to pay out of pocket. Absolutely absurd. This company is the worst. I am so sorry I ever purchased a product from them and whats even worse is the horrible customer service.
