I needed a fridge at the time it seemed like it was it the best quality fridge out there for the initial price so I really cant complain. It really does run well and efficient. The ice machine is my favorite part. Also the fact that it is a stainless steel appliance means it is easy to clean and just be wiped off for a fast and easy finish. Its an ok fridge all around but the cons would be it smudges easily. I have kids so that is a big concern with me since I dont want people coming over to my house and seeing a dirty fridge people would think Im a slob who doesnt clean my own house. Also the ice machine can be pretty loud but all around its an ok fridge so I dont have any major complaints.

I bought my LG washer, model #WM2016CW, on 5/17/2008. I have noticed all along that the clothes have this odor to them and then it transfers to the dryer but I kept doing the cleaning cycle and it worked for about a week then back to that smell. I tried every HE detergent I could find but the same results. But today was a whole new problem. I put the laundry in and went about doing my cleaning. I went down to the laundry room to change the clothes into the dryer and there was a mess on the floor; it was glass. I thought maybe a light broke but this was thick clear glass. I could not believe what I saw. The glass front of the washer burst into pieces and I had chunks of glass everywhere. The strange thing is that the washer had finished its cycle and the clothes were all done so this must have happened after the clothes finished. There was not a drop of water anywhere. I am still in shock that this happened but with LG anything can happen. I am told I will have to pay for a service man plus parts and LG will not give me any answers. They told me to call Sears, the place where I purchased it, and go through them. Sears gave me the runaround also. They told me that I would have to pay $75 just for a person to come out to look at it and then it could cost up to $350 depending on the cause. The whole door may have to be replaced and they have to try to find the cause which it sounds like they dont have a clue. So the washer is sitting in the laundry room and I am out looking for a new washer. I do not trust this washer at all after the explosion. I am writing my Attorney General and letting him know about this and many other things about LG products. I also own an LG gas stove. It is almost two years old and I have had LG people replacing the glass window. This has been ongoing since I bought the stove. There is a leak in the glass oven door and it just keeps fogging up and food particles get in between the glass door and oven door. What a piece of junk that cost me $1100. LG refuses to do anything about it so my husband and I keep taking the glass off and cleaning it and it is not an easy thing to do. I will never buy another LG product and I will tell everyone I know not to buy LG. They sent one guy over and he put the glass back wrong. All I can say is that LG is getting a bad reputation and if they dont get it right, then they will soon be out of business. I just finished reading 800 reviews of LG ovens and they were not good at all; most of them real bad. What is wrong with the LG company? Are they that stupid not to see what people are saying about their product? I will try to find a new washer made in the good old USA.

Absolute junk. Has not worked right since day one. Cooling problems and error codes since new. 2014 by the way. More than a half dozen repair calls and still not fixed. Now out of warranty and last service technician says its the main wire harness. Called LG service. Horrible. Besides arguing that the fridge is out of warranty. Then tells me the wiring cant be replaced anyway. Now stuck with a shiny $2700 lawn ornament. Stay away from LG. Back to using my 15 year old Frigidaire apartment fridge until I can afford to buy a new one. There will never be another LG or LG-affiliated product in my house again.

We have had 5 accidents (two were serious nearly starting fires) concerning how easy the stove top can be turned on by the slightest touch, brush or bump. These knobs are an extreme danger to anyone that has one of these ranges in their home. I cannot understand why this range (LDE4415 st) has not been recalled or that LG has not developed a fix for this dangerous problem.

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid! We purchased a LG French Door refrigerator/freezer 28 cu ft (Model LFXS2926W/01) in April 2016. In late May of 2018 both lower and upper linear compressors failed along with the evaporators along with complete loss of refrigerant. Service rep came by in early June to identify the problem. Two weeks later the parts were delivered and they are back for the three hour repair. Three weeks from day of failure to day of repair. The service rep tell me that this appears to be a consistent problem with most if not all LG French door units. So $660.00 (labor and service call costs) later I hope to have it resolved. They have already warned me (because I asked) that this compressor/evaporator replacement will work properly for the next 2-3 years, before a predicted failure will occur again on the same components. The ten year warranty covers the compressor and a seven year warranty covers the evaporator. I asked their opinion on why such a generous warranty program given the predicted failure rate. The statement was the product (refrigerators internal cooling components) is over engineered and it is probably cheaper in the long run to provide the warranty than it is to have to submit to a product recall or redesign of the failed parts. I have purchased my last LG product of any kind and I am sharing our experience with everyone I can.

I purchased this LG French Door 28 cu ft Refrigerator Model # LMX28988SW on 3/10/2011 and was delivered and setup from Best Buy on 3/28/2011. Was told this is the best fridge on the market... It cost almost $2600, but I wanted something that would last. Boy, that sure didnt happen... Not quite 7 years later my freezer and icemaker both stopped working. The ice maker needed replacement just a few months after purchase and now it failed again. Im sure its somehow related to the freezer no longer freezing things. I have an International Harvester refrigerator in my barn that was purchased by my parents in 1950 and it still works fine. How discouraging that this LG fridge has already puked out.

After being told that this washer was the most top-rated, we decided to make the move to this HE machine to save water. It has the clear top, so we were suspicious from the start with the minimal activity and agitation seen with the impeller system versus our old machine, plus it appeared that some clothes werent even getting wet! But the information we had read told us that all of this was normal. We were shocked at the 1:47 hours to complete a load, but again, we were able to wash twice as much in one load. BUT, a load of heavily soiled Levis from gardening, which would have been no problem with our old machine, came out filthy, even using the Heavy-duty cycle with extra water! TWICE!! This really is not acceptable, but we dont have a lot of faith in trying any other HE machine now either. We are reading bad reviews on pretty much all of them!

I purchased a brand new 36 door in door refrigerator. It died after just 28 months. It was out of warranty but LG offered me a out of warranty deal. I paid $320 to have the problem repaired no matter how big or small it was. After 4 weeks of waiting, countless phone calls and emails, I found out that LG do NOT have one single company who will repair their appliances be it under warranty or not! The products look nice but they are all JUNK! Absolutely no service, warranty or satisfaction whatsoever. At the same time I purchased the refrigerator, I also bought a over the range microwave, dutch oven and dishwasher. I got less than 2 months out of the dishwasher before the black stainless steel started to peel!!! LG should not be allowed to operate! This business is horrible!

Two weeks after installing our beautiful new oven in our beautifully remodeled kitchen, we had a graduation party for my son. As I was going to bed that night, the smoke alarms started blaring. The house was filled with black smoke. To make a long story short, my nephew bumped one of the knobs and started a plastic container on fire. All he did was bump the knob and started a fire that easily. Major design flaw. This oven is very dangerous!

My four-year old dishwasher was so expensive to repair and I was told to replace. This was an $800 appliance. Oven will not heat and neither will the broiler, a $1,500 oven that cannot be used and it is too expensive to repair due to parts.

After much research and review we purchased the 6.3 cu. ft. Capacity Electric Single Oven Range with True Convection and EasyClean. He ordered it on December 29, 2014 and it was delivered in February 2015. Apparently it was not constructed until January of 2015. So I was excited for a brand new stove. I am an avid baker and love to cook. So having this stove was exciting!Fast forward to October 19, 2016. Woke up early and went to heat water for tea. My LED screen had a time on it that was incorrect, so I tried to update the clock. Nothing worked. I freaked out and checked all the circuit breakers etc. Nothing then the screen went black. Fast forward to today, when they could finally come out to look at it. I need a new panel...Shocker. Its not even two years old. Good thing is that I purchased an extended warranty. But I have been without a stove for 7 days and it will be an additional 10 days until the part comes in. My guess is that this is a common problem. This is my first and LAST LG purchase. NEVER AGAIN!!!

We bought an LG Front loading washer and dryer from Sears about 1 1/2 years
We bought an LG Front loading washer and dryer from Sears about 1 1/2 years ago. We immediately encountered sporadic occurrences of what looks like oil streaks from the washer. We called Sears and they sent someone out, who replaced the tub and some other items, and also told us to use a different kind of detergent. A few months and a few ruined items of clothing later, we called Sears again and they sent someone out who replaced a bunch of stuff again. They then sold us an extended warranty on the washer. We thought Sears sold it to us, but it turns out we bought it from LG. So the problem has continued and weve called LG, who is telling us that our complaint doesnt fall under the terms of the warranty, that we are complaining about cosmetic outcomes of the laundry. Crazy us, expecting a brand new washer to clean our clothes and not leave grease streaks. They have been horrible to work with. They are offering to refund the warranty which, of course, allows them to walk away from us completely. I guess well need to try and get Sears back involved, as technically we brought this to their attention under the original warranty, and it never was resolved. If you are considering buying LG, I hope you have better luck than weve had. I will never buy another product that says LG on it.

Bought a LG Top loading washing machine WT5270CW and the motherboard failed in 2 1/2 months. The failure caused the washing machine to continue filling up with water and overflowing onto the floor. It flooded out our garage and fortunately was discovered before it flooded the entire home. LG warranty service is horrible. They have you troubleshoot it, so they can save the cost of a repairman coming out. Their LG repairmen never call you nor show up for schedule appointments. LG, themselves, when you question what is going on, admit they dont have the parts on hand to fix it. Come to find out, my parts are on back order for 7-10 days. They further tell you that they have 30 days to fix or replace. In the meantime, I have dirty clothes piled to the roof. Do Not Buy LG! Never so unhappy with a product and company.

I purchased an LG computerized washer from Home Depot that has a big label that says 10 years, which is no guarantee of anything. The washer worked 3 years and the $450 power supply went out. No more computerized washers for me. They are pretty, but I will take the simple old models with knobs and mechanical parts without the fancy very expensive to repair computer parts from now on. My washer before it lasted over ten years. My expensive LG is in my shed. I cannot bear to put on the curb something I paid that much for. I now have a used washer that I paid $100 for the washer/dryer pair that work just fine. They are Roper models. I only recommend the LG gamble to people who have more money than they need and money to throw away.

Its still not working and they cant come until Monday -- over two weeks after the new compressor was installed. And now the refrigerator portion is not cooling. Each time we call, they merely say Im sorry. We have been homeowners for over 25 years and have never had appliance issues. DO NOT BUY AN LG!!! I wish I had known. I wont make the mistake again. We had purchased both the washer and dryer at the same time from Lowes while building our home. I documented all of the steps we had taken and responses from LG on our repair. Went back to Lowes (where purchased from) and asked to talk to the manager. After showing him the paperwork and relating my experience he allowed me to exchange the both machines. The appliance manager worked with me and I picked out a Whirlpool Duet W&D. They scheduled a date to pick up the LG units and deliver the new Whirlpool units. I couldnt be happier with the Whirlpools, and received the difference in the cost back. I did initially call Lowes headquarters to ask if they would exchange my machines and was told that it was up to the manager at the store I purchased them from. I was very calm and respectful and had all of the paperwork to show the manager. They were really great. I will never by LG again.

We live in Westchester County in NY. I spent $3,000 on a counter-depth french door with linear compressor, the model number was LFXC24726S. Well, it only lasted two and half years, then suddenly one day it stopped cooling. Contacted LG directly and they told me to call a local authorized repair shop for a checkup. It took days for the local shop to answer my phone call and then another few days for a appointment. The technician told me the linear compressor was gone and needed to be replaced. Also the circuit board was faulty, it resulted in lower voltage than normal. Although the compressor was covered under the warranty, its value was only $360. It is the labor to replace it my friend that is expensive, about $1100. Even if I had it fixed, its not guaranteed to last another year. So I just decided to buy a new one. This time its not going to be LG.

I was out of country for business when my wife tells me our 5 year old LG refrigerator stopped working. I had her call LG customer service department (India). They provided her with an authorized LG Service Center 50 miles from our house. The cost for the service center to make the service call to my home was $215 which included 1 hour of labor that would be applied to the service call and anything left over applied to the repair. It took the service center 1 week to make the service call. At 5 years my refrigerator has only a 7 year warranty on the compressor with no labor covered. The service call by the service center determined the compressor and motherboard were bad. The repairman only assessed the call for 15 minutes leaving 45 minutes toward repair. I was also told that I would have to get the parts from LG. Contacted LG for the parts and they said the service center would have to order the parts.I went back and forth for about a week between the service center and LG. Got an LG Case Number that was offered after about the 15th call to LG. I asked for a US based LG customer service rep and was told that does not exist. Today LG offered to send the Service Center a Part Authorization # so that they could order the parts. I am going on 3 weeks without a refrigerator functioning in my home. I was told the Part Authorization # will take at least 3 days. The service center says once they have the Part Authorization # it will take about a week to get the part. Then another week to come out for the service repair call. If you are thinking of purchasing an LG product you are out of your freakn mind.

My old washing machine gave out and I invested in what I thought was going to be a good washer. I decided to splurge a bit in order to get a good washer. I purchased from a 3rd party (JCPenney) so it took 4 weeks plus an additional 2 weeks because it was on back order. So for 6 weeks I was going to the laundromat. I took the day off work to be available for delivery. The delivery guys dropped it off, hooked it up and checked it and it was working. I did my first load of laundry and it would not complete a load. It gave me an error message. All day long I tried different ways around it and nothing. My husband changed the water hoses since it said it was the water pressure and nothing. We called LG that evening and basically was told because it was the water pressure in our home that they would not send a repairman. Our house is very new and our old washer worked fine water pressure wise. We told them to just take it back then and they agreed.Very long story short they would tell us they would take it back and or send a repairman and nothing would happen. We would call back and same promises and nothing. JCPenney has called them various times to have them send someone to repair and they refuse. Now its 2 weeks out and we, JCPenney and even the delivery people have called various times to get it repaired or returned and they refuse. Its insane were having to go through this kind of trouble when its brand new out of the box and we bought warranties on it. Im extremely disappointed in the way LG is handling this situation and I will never buy another LG appliance in my life nor will I recommend to anyone that they do either. They have lost a good customer because we are loyal to brands that are good to us. I wish they would just take this dang washer, refund us and we could just get a different brand. I purchased a brand new LG washing machine and dryer approximately 3 years ago. I have a family of three - we never do large loads. I have never placed anything other than clothing in it. I do not wash rugs or large blankets or comforters. I have those professionally cleaned. Recently the washing machine began making really loud noises so I called a service technician. He tells the stainless steel basket has somehow become bent. I was told that there is a lifetime warranty on it as it should never bend with normal use. He suggested that it may have been defective to begin with. I called LG service center and was told it was in fact covered but of course they have no LG technicians in my area to install this basket and referred me to their authorized technicians. It will cost over $600 to replace this basket. When I explained to the rep that that cost was near what it would cost to purchase a new washing machine, she said there was nothing they could do. I have owned several homes and several rental properties and I never had a washing machine stop working after 3 years even with the worst tenants using them. I take care of my appliances and I am appalled that after only 3 years of less than average use, their product will cost $600 to repair. I will purchase a new washing machine and will never purchase an LG product again.

We bought our brand new LG front load washing machine 2 years ago. It already has a bad bearing. LG will not warranty it because I dont have an extended warranty. This is clearly either cheap parts, or terrible quality assurance on LGs part. Bearings shouldnt go bad this fast. Car wheels have bearings that last up to 200,000 miles. The customer service department there expressed that it wasnt really their problem, and continued to ask me to pay a deposit on service for the unit. Will never buy an LG appliance again.

Bought an expensive LG French Door refrigerator back in 2018. In March 2020, it started making a loud grinding fan noise. We called out a technician, who apparently ordered the wrong part. A week later, a different technician came and installed it, apparently not noticing that it was the wrong part. Immediately after he left, we started getting an error code. The only way to get the fridge to still cool is to constantly throw the breaker every hour or so...and today we found out that the new replacement part is on back order and wont come for almost two months. Im mystified why LGs parts are so easy to confuse...before we called the technician, the fridge was at least working. Now its pretty dodgy. Something this expensive shouldnt break within 2 years of purchase...

We purchased an LG refrigerator French door/bottom freezer drawer approximately 2.5 years ago. Recently, the refrigerator stopped freezing so we called a repairman. We were told by the repairman that the repair cost would be greater than the price of a new refrigerator. We went back to the selling retailer and asked what they could do for us. They said they could sell us a new refrigerator at cost, which they did.We are frustrated to say the least and cannot believe that a refrigerator would only have a 2.5 life span. My initial reaction was to never purchase an LG brand again! EVER!

My fridge stopped cooling the night before Thanksgiving. It is still running and the light come on...but not cooling...food lost! I called our Home warranty. Technician to come out, he was there within 3 hours because they consider problems with a refrigerator and emergency. He said it is a compressor leak and there is no Freon left in the appliance. Due to this, he cannot fix so I needed to call LG because it should be under warranty.I called LG first thing in the morning on Friday after Thanksgiving, and they said that they would notify a repair tech to call us and schedule a time to fix the appliance if it was fixable. Monday still no word from them. I called LG back and they said none of the repair shops around me had accepted the order so they would move me to to an escalation group to get scheduled who would call me in 3-5 days...still I have no fridge. I did now get an email saying that they scheduled a consultation with a technician for next Friday...this is where they will come and see what is wrong with my fridge so they can order parts. I explained to them after waiting on hold for 25 minutes...I have notes from a technician that you can use to fix my fridge when they come. They will not do that. Once they order parts, those will take a week or longer to get to my house, then you have to reschedule the tech... This is ridiculous! I am going to be out a refrigerator for a MONTH! And this is an appliance I spent $2200 only 2.75 years ago. The customer service was no help and frankly not that empathetic to the fact that we are a large family and had no fridge over Thanksgiving, let alone now. Very disappointed! This is unacceptable!

I agree with the majority of the people regarding LG fridge. I purchased an expensive counter depth fridge 5 years and 7 months ago and it completely broke down. Not the compressor but a leakage within the wall of the fridge so it cannot be repaired. I paid $125 to the LG technician to come and inspect to tell me that it cannot be repaired and that I should get a new fridge. The technician also let me know that the leakage was a manufacturing issue not wear and tear. I am aware of the LG settlement and was shy of 7 months to claim anything. LG refuses to do anything about it. So basically all their products are useless. I will never purchase another LG product and will make sure that everyone I know do the same. Worse service and company. They knew about the defects but did nothing. Where is the accountability???

LG French door refrigerator - I was reading Tony from San Antonios problem with his fridge and it sounds exactly the same for me. 22 months ago, I bought an LG refrigerator from Best Buy for $2400 and last week, it stopped cooling down enough to safely use. It cant get below 40-50 degrees. I didnt get the extended warranty so now I have spent another $400 on service calls and nobody can figure out whats wrong. They tried adding some Freon thinking there was a leak but now I am getting an error message on the front. If anyone has had a similar problem and figured out what to do to fix it, please email me what worked. Never again, LG.

This is the noisiest piece of equipment in the house except for the washing machine or vacuum that run very rarely. This LG refrigerator is way below my expectations. We called the service department, they said that due to a pump of some kind this is the noise they make. This morning, early, 5 am, this machine sounded like a Martian flying saucer. The configuration of the refrigerator is okay, I mean really its a refrigerator. The constant noise is a drag. If I could go back in time I would NOT have bought this machine.

Our current problem is that the freezer stopped cooling and now the refrigerator isn’t able to keep a normal temperature. Of course, this happened shortly after we took an expensive Covid-style trip to the grocery store, so we are slowly losing hundreds of dollars in food. We suspect it’s the compressor. We’ve struggled with this fridge since we bought it. For the first year, we had issues with it making unusually loud noises. After hours and hours of service visits and calls, they replaced the compressor. Now it seems like the “new” compressor is failing after about 18 months. The size and physical design of the fridge is great, but not worth the headaches.

Bought a Kenmore Elite French Door Refrigerator 795.74032.411 in July 2015
Bought a Kenmore Elite French Door Refrigerator 795.74032.411 in July 2015 and really regret that decision. Less than 30 day after the 1 year warranty expired, got an error code indicating there was a bad control board or fan. Tech replaced the fan was first and that did not fix the issue, so then control board. Reading on line reports, this was a known issue with the LG control board. So $350 later, it was working again. Then a few month later, the ice maker started icing up. Turns out that the waterline running into the door has a know issue also. So tech had to order a new door (over $500) and with labor, total cost was over $850 for that failure. About a year later, started hearing a loud noise when a fan kicked on. This turned out to be a bad fan behind the rear panel in the refrigerator section. That was a $200 dollar repair (parts and labor).Shortly after that repair, the same fan started making noise again. This time the housing around the fan had shifted because of tension being place on the housing that way it is installed, making contact with the fan blades. Tech was able to readjust the housing to not touch the fan blades. But another $100 service charge. Now the Sealed System is out. The Sealed System is under warranty, but very hard to find anyone to do the repair. Sears is coming out next week, but the warranty only covers the parts. So labor will be $99 just to get them to look at it. The tech that looked at it yesterday (another $100 charge), indicates it likely the compressor, but he was not allowed to replace parts covered by warranty. Said I had to contact a Sears or LG for warranty repairs.

Im a professional mechanic and electronics tech. I just had to replace a relay and two corroded microswitches due to poor design of the icemaker hatch. Weak return springs prevent a tight seal when not in use, allowing moisture from ice melt to drip down past the hatch and, as evidenced by mineral scale, into the chamber containing the relay board, front panel control board, and the in-door ice and water lever microswitches (!). Observed heavy corrosion on electronic parts and fasteners inside, as well as around the front seal where it meets the metallic enclosure. The front seal, intended to prevent moisture intrusion from the exterior of the unit, instead prevents moisture introduced by the ice chute from escaping the chamber. This oversight exposes control boards and electronic parts and connectors to sustained high-humidity environment (!). Control boards inside are not potted (no resin/silicone/thermoplastic encapsulation) and there are no rubber seals on electrical connectors contained within. ICs, pads, and components on the front panel control board show corrosion and, in my opinion, are not long for the world. Ive added a desiccant pack inside the chamber and a bead of silicone sealant under the defective icemaker hatch behind the front bezel to mitigate the design oversight and hopefully extend the life of my investment. Rust at the bottom of the front control panel may be an indicator of the problem described above on your unit.Additionally, the linear compressor used in this fridge is currently the focus of a class action lawsuit (which I am not party to). LG asserted that these units can have up to a 20 year lifespan (avg of 14 years) but have had a significant portion of units fail starting around the 3-year mark. My compressor is still functioning for now but Ive purchased a 3rd party wireless temperature monitoring panel with sensors for both compartments to mitigate the risk of foodborne illness associated with a failing compressor. This appliance is at best, a very poor investment. At worst, it is a hazard to my wife and children. Moisture intrusion behind the front panel presents a reliability problem, a mold hazard, and a fire hazard due to the line voltage connections within. The poor design choices make it clear that the engineers involved with the project had some serious deficiencies in failure mode analysis, fail-safe design, and keeping with good engineering principals. Ive experienced similar design oversights involving moisture control with other LG products Ive owned and maintained (LG window unit AC, LG Waveforce washer and dryer) and will never purchase another LG appliance. Longevity is important to me, but does not seem to be a priority for LG. My wife thinks it looks pretty in our kitchen, so theres that I suppose. Hopefully the compressor fails and I can get this stylish lemon out of here soon..

This is a beautiful, very large washer. Had great reviews and ratings in consumer magazines, etc. For 10 months or so it functioned well, handling large quantities of laundry, including towels and bedding. Then nearing the 1 year mark, the UE symbol, meaning it cant spin out the water from your clothing was a regular occurrence. I was told to use the tub clean cycle. It may have helped it balance for a few uneventful loads. But it was short lived. If you like standing over the top of a washer watching to see if it will spin, etc., but seeing it add 20 or more minutes over and over, then this is the one for you. A big disappointment.Updated on 1/23/2017: Whenever I have called LG about the frequent (Out of balance) issue they always say run the tub clean cycle, which I suppose tries to re-balance or reset without any clothes in it. It even get off balance empty!! Why does this washer get such good reviews in consumer reports, etc.

But the worst is my oven is chipping enamel - golf ball size chip. Also told not under warranty. This is a defect not warranty problem. So now it’s my problem to replace this part on bottom of oven. Is about $180.00 and grill pan is about 60.00 plus cleaning kit about $10.00 so I need to spend about 250.00 to get my range back to new. Remember this range is only 18 months old... My husband wanted a GE but I like how this looked. Wished I listened but won’t have this range long at this rate because it’s hard to get parts from overseas and customer service sucks and so does the company. Be WARNED!!!!!

LG Washer WT5001C - This washer was recommended by Home Depot. I had no idea it was a Korean made machine. I was told it was a GE brand that had great reviews. Shame on me for not checking. Luckily I purchased the 4 year extended warranty. It is by far the WORST machine I have ever had. I have had repeated service because it is never in balance and ALWAYS take over 90 minutes to do a simple load. I have been told, I put too few items in the machine. Next service call told I put too many clothes in the machine, next service call I was told I didnt know how to load a machine. Seriously I have been washing clothes for over 35 years! Finally a good local service company was assigned to come out and they replaced the Core control board and the Display board. NO CHANGE. Finally called again for warranty service only to find out there is a major part recall on many of the models so if you havent checked you might want to. Of course finding someone authorized by LG to come out is the next joke. Their service departments are as bad as their washers. This is simply a poorly built product that should be totally recalled and no longer sold. Major retailers should be ashamed selling this to consumers. There is no doubt I will be donating this machine as soon as I get close to the expiration of the extended warranty. I would gladly participate in a class action against this company.

We bought a house with built-in LG double wall ovens. They were inspected prior to our purchase and worked fine. We decided to use the self-clean mode on the upper unit that is built in to the appliance and what a huge mistake that was! The electronic touch screen went blank, the door locked shut, and the oven heated up to some insane temperature that had us concerned the unit would catch the wood enclosure the ovens were built into on fire. The self-clean took over 5 hours to complete and the upper oven has not worked since. I went online to see if I could figure out what happened and saw that this is a very common complaint about LG ovens. So, I contacted LG to file a claim and they refused to acknowledge the issue and said they would not warranty the appliance because our purchase contract didnt specifically call out the serial and model numbers of the BUILT IN UNIT. They had no concern about the fire hazard created by using the self-clean feature on the unit and no offer to inspect or correct the damage (that seems to be a regular occurrence) caused by using their appliances self-clean feature. LG offers both a shoddy appliance and a shoddy customer service experience. I will not be purchasing another LG product.

Its a terrible design flaw. Rust is on the hinges where no chlorine or detergent goes. I have pictures... Paint will not help. The entire under part of the area above the bin but connected to the place where you put detergent or bleach is completely rusted out and the metal is so bad. I can stick my finger through it. They sent me an email... that the rust in your washing machine bleach dispenser is a result of the detergent or other additives being spilled that have not been wiped clean. Chlorine bleach is corrosive and will erode the finish if not cleaned immediately. If any spills should happen make sure to wipe it up immediately and the area cleaned with warm water and a soft cloth. Touch-up paint maybe use to cover the area, if not service may be necessary. How could LG design a washing machine that uses bleach and detergent knowing full well that it might get on areas besides the stainless bin and get under this area and all around the entire top of the machine and rust out. That is what happened.

I have been reading the many complaints of the LG gas oven switch complaints. We have been having the same problems. (1) Clothing catching on switches and accidentally lighting the burners. (2) Switches turning on but not far enough to ignite the gas supply leaving raw gas to disperse into the kitchen. I wrote to LG about this problem and the answer indicated that they had heard about the problem but it was not dangerous enough to issue a recall. Maybe they need a house fire or a gassing death before they are compelled to take real action. By the way the answer I received had many grammatical errors in the reply so I assume it may be written by some low paid clerk with no real knowledge of the danger with this design problem. Today (8-19-2019) was the 1st service appointment LG had available which is two and a half weeks after calling LG. One would think that with this being a very common issue, the repair person would already have a compressor with him. No that would be too logical. He left today and now we have another appointment to actually fix it on 9/6/19. No loaner, no anything, but just them saying thats the best they can do. That is very poor customer service. We purchased an LG top-load washing machine in early Dec. We waited until Valentines Day for it to be delivered! A new machine was needed after 15 years of washing 4 athletic boys & a construction working husbands clothes! Our trusty Maytag front-load machines were going out. I wanted to buy new Maytag machines but I got talked into LG by the salesperson & fellow customers. I will just state now how truly sorry I am for being swayed into that decision because it was 1 of the worst choices Ive made. I cannot stand this machine! Im not exaggerating when I say my clothes come out of the machine dirtier than when I put them in! The clothes dont even get covered in water! I know theyre environmentally friendly, but even when you use the water plus option there should not enough water to get all the clothes wet! I have to physically get my arms in the machine & agitate the clothes.I called the store we purchased them from and of course since they are used they wont return them. I call LG, whose customer service is in a foreign country and the guy proceeds to tell me in a heavy accent that I dont know how to use the washing machine. Its user error. He didnt believe me that the clothes werent washing and continued to argue with me that I didnt read the manual. I asked what we could do to solve this problem & he told me theres nothing they can do. LG... Lifes good... NOT if you own an LG appliance! My 10 month old french door refrigerators fan starting making a loud noise.
My 10 month old french door refrigerators fan starting making a loud noise. I looked up my problem on the internet and found that my unit has a know frost buildup issue. I called LG since it was still under warranty. They diagnosed the unit over the phone and scheduled a service appointment for me. A new control panel was mailed out to me. The tech was supposed to be at my home between 8 am and noon yesterday. I received a phone call the night before confirming him for between 10 and noon. The tech did not show up until 1:05. He then proceeded to empty out my fridge, remove all of the shelves and the bins. The vent behind the veggie bin was encrusted with ice which he melted and chiseled away. Then the back panel inside was removed which revealed the entire coil frozen and encrusted with ice. It took until after 3 PM for him to melt all of the ice which resulted in my having towels both wet and dry all over the kitchen, a bucket for the excess water, not to mention my food, bins and shelves strewn about. The tech pulled out the fridge and replaced the control panel on the back. Then came the process of putting everything back together and putting all of the food back in. I then had to wash a load of towels and clean the fingerprints and streaks off of the stainless steel fridge. Well the first thing that I noticed was the once firm and solid bin holder now wobbles. But that is not the worse part, the worse part is that today, one day later, the fridge has begun to make the same sound and the ice is already forming around the vent. I was assured the control panel (brain) would fix the problem. Well it seems to me that this is not the case and I know have to go through this again not knowing if the LG tech can figure out what actually is wrong. I called for another appointment and was told that as of now none is available for Monday or Tuesday so I have to call back on Monday to see when the next available appointment will be. Why should a new appliance have these issues? Why shouldnt an LG tech be able to diagnose and fix the problem on the first business? Why shouldnt I be able to get an immediate appointment for a return visit to rectify the problem? Im regretting my decision to go with LG. I should have purchased a Samsung refrigerator. I own an LG Phone, an LG smart TV and this refrigerator. I will never purchase another LG product again. Am I expected to miss another day of work to be available for service, suffer the mess and inconvenience of the repair process and then not know if after the second visit if it will be fixed or not?

I have the same experience with my machine. Just after 1 yr, the washer will spin & refill for hours repeating the same cycles. The machine starts at 57 min. wash 9 normal load, cottons) but after an hour is still spinning, draining & refilling. The first time I noticed this, it was spinning for over 3 hrs. until I stopped it. Not only that, the clothes come out about as dirty as they went in. The machine is a huge disappointment.

I bought an LG refrigerator with French door and bottom freezer in Aug 2010. I noticed it started to make noise when the ice maker was filling with water. I called Sears for service because it was still under warranty, and that was where I bought it. They gave me an appointment eight days later. At that point, it was still working; I thought, “No big deal.” Then the refrigerator part quit being cold; so, I called back for a sooner appointment. Two days later, the repairman came, and said I needed a new electronic board. He said he would place the order, and the part would be dropped shipped to my home. When it arrives, Im supposed to call them. This is to schedule for them to put it in, and the first available date is in eight days! Who can go without a refrigerator for eight days? They said the warranty didnt cover the food loss. So, Im out a couple hundred dollars, and I am stuck with this lousy refrigerator that I cant stand.

So, This was a great fridge for about 4 years. Then it stopped making cold. We have been without a refrigerator for over 1 month. Monday 5/20/19 will be the 7th time a tech has come out in an attempt to fix this piece of garbage. Im sure he will replace a part, leave, and it will continue to not work. Then next week a tech will come out again, pick a single part to replace and leave. Ill wait another week and he will come replace that part. Im pretty sure after compressor, valve, drying unit, main circuit board, and capacitor you could have replaced the fridge twice for less money. So, keep paying the techs to waste my time and rest assured I will never buy another LG appliance as long as I live.

I actually have had good experiences with LG products and have always thought the brand is not only dependable but is just as contemporary as other much higher price. Also the features are good and innovative that seems to be getting even better all time. It was kinda wide and for being so wide I thought it couldve had more compartments. Just me but, I dont like that some foods are not separated from other because of smells and foods that are more pungent or eaten more quickly. Overall it was a good refrigerator for eight years that I owned and used it. For one thing the barrier that keeps condiments and such from falling out when the refrigerator was opened. When I cleaned it the compartments were easy to remove and easy to put back in. I only had to replace a couple of bulbs as far as any maintenance is concerned. Very dependable I would say. I sold the refrigerator after having it for the few years. I mentioned to a friend who bought it for his daughter and as far as I know she is still using it.

We have a WM2301HS bought in Sept 2010 and after a few months, we noticed that the are grease-like stains on some of the clothes, but not all the time. It is a pain to get those stains out. Some comments suggested the contents of the laundry are to blame, but judging from the complaints, we are not alone. Did anyone get this solved? All in all, this machine works great (and looks good). The only service call (yes, life was not good) we had at the beginning was to put a missing clamp on the bottom drain of the gasket (how could they miss that in assembly?).

Purchased LG Model LFXS29626B because of good reviews and it had features we desired like 2 ice makers. Worked fine for 3 years then stopped without any signs of problems. Research discovered common failures of the compressors in these LG refrigerators. Contacted LG by phone and using Smart Diagnosis was informed by the technician that the compressor had failed. My worse fear with no extended warranty. LG offered to repair my unit without cost to me. It was repaired the same day, in short time as the repairman came with required parts on hand. I applaud LG for owning this problem, but feel cautious wondering if the new compressor will fail after a short time period. We hope not because up to this point, it has served us well and we like the looks, and features. Previous refrigerator was a Kenmore, which lasted 16 years and cost one fourth of the LG.

Now you can go shopping again and repeat the whole process over again. Wash-rinse-repeat. Tub bearing, tub, carrier... I can buy new for the repair cost. Got to spend $150 for the bad news. And I have to have the carcass hauled off.

This has to be the worst washing machine that Ive ever used! My in-laws gave us the LG top loading set to make our lives easier, after our twins were born. I cry every time I have to wash clothes in it. It takes twice as long as my old washer and does half as good a job. I would pay to have my old washing machine back! I purchased an LG refrigerator (LSXS26326S-00) in 2015. This year January 11 it stopped cooling. I had a repair man come out to check it. We were told it was the compressor, which would run about $550 labor and $350 for the new compressor (also $145 diagnostic fee). The compressor was ordered and the repairs were done. It was repaired on a Thursday afternoon and stopped working by Friday evening. The repair man came out again and notified us the the BRAND NEW compressor was faulty. He told us this was common with LG parts and this was part of a class action lawsuit. At the time of this review, I am still without a refrigerator and just over $1000 in the negative for repairs that did not solve my problem!! I will never purchase another LG anything!! I am very upset that with this known problem LG as a company did nothing to notify consumers who purchased these faulty models of this problem that is beyond repair. So I did go online to see if the claims were true about a class action lawsuit and they were. The last day to file a claim was February 5, 2021. I was already past that date by the time I was notified there was such a thing. I wasted time and lots money on this situation and couldve just purchased a new refrigerator. I will tell everyone I know to never by LG appliances and go through this horrible experience!!LG this is for you...Consumers like myself work really hard to make sure they purchase quality products. You are doing them a disservice by not being open and honest about your products if they have problems. A company of your magnitude should make good with consumers who purchased these FAULTY models. Reimburse them or offer them a replacement model (equivalent or greater) with at least a 10 year warranty for all the pain and frustration that your product caused!!

We bought a top load LG Direct Drive Inverter HE washing machine almost 18 months ago. The washing machine was supposed to be efficient on use of water and electricity. From the beginning we have not been able to complete ANY load without getting UE (uneven load) multiple times. The washer has been checked for level and balance and even with just an empty load it continues to get an UE code. Water usage has gone up as it never completes a load without going in UE mode multiple times. Electricity use has gone up. We cannot leave this washing machine and never expect for the load to complete. All settings have been tested and it makes no difference if a small or large load. WORST washing machine we have ever owned and will never buy an LG again. We were told when we purchased it from Home Depot it was a top of the line. It will be getting junked out this week and we will be purchasing another machine. Not LG and not from Home Depot. Apparently this is a known issue but there is no resolution and no compensation for those of us that have battled these machines over the last 12-24 months or longer.

He recommended I called priority services and they said we can’t do anything about it because the oven is still functioning correctly. I contacted the Better Business Bureau of New Jersey and had many email conversations with them and LG headquarters and the final decision was I’m supposed to use three or four different types of chemicals to clean the oven because their feature does not work. My 5 year old refrigerator suddenly stopped working. A technician came out
My 5 year old refrigerator suddenly stopped working. A technician came out the next day and determined the compressor had failed. I was shocked because compressors typically can last over 20 years. After doing some research I come to find out that this is a widespread problem with LG and possibly some other brands that use this Linear type compressor. LG knows about the problem, and continues selling this product. To make matters worse, they are or have been installing the same type compressor as a replacement which will likely fail again in a short time.LG - listen this is no picnic when you lose hundreds of dollars of food. I spent over $3,000 for what I was led to believe to be a top quality refrigerator. Though the compressor is under warranty, LG said the labor is not because its 5 years and a few weeks, are you kidding? I am not pleased to have to shell out $550 in labor on top of the cost of the lost food. If this is how you treat your customers, you can rest assure LG will not be my appliance brand of choice.

Our electric glass top range/double oven stove is the worst ever! The knobs
Our electric glass top range/double oven stove is the worst ever! The knobs are SO sensitive and we have accidentally kicked them on numerous times by leaning against the stove when gathering in the kitchen and even by reaching up into the cabinet or microwave that is over the stove and hitting the knobs with our stomach or hips. Thank goodness we have always been home when this has happened and have been able to quickly address the melted cutting boards (2) and scissors that have been on the stove when accidentally turned on. Also, were very lucky that our dog knows better than to jump on the counters when we are not home or else I could see him turning on the stove and burning down our house with himself in it. I have called LG multiple times about this and each time I am assured someone will call me back but still no return call! To make matters worse, SafetyFirst brand makes knob covers to childproof these types of stoves, but LGs knobs are too large for the standard protectors. Its like LG aims to get a good laugh at peoples houses burning down because of their faulty products! We really wish we got a Whirlpool!!!

I purchased my LG dishwasher on april 11, 2015. I did not purchase an extended warranty as LG was supposed to be a high end appliance company and felt the product would not require service right away. However, I was wrong. One week after my 1 year purchase date, the dishwasher had an oe error code flashing one morning, which I did not know what that meant. So I continue to use it and instead of running at night while sleeping I decided to run before we went to bed. The dishwasher when first starting had a loud grinding noise, which sounded like it was trying to take off and start flying.I went online to find that this is a problem with the dishwasher and the company does not back their warranty. I started a chat at 8:38 to resolve the issue and remained on the chat until 10:52, with no resolution. I then called the company direct. Spoke with a rep and a supervisor, both of which informed me my dishwasher had no warranty. Only after I had to contact Sears, get a duplicate receipt, upload it to them and they reviewed it. Since I got a discount on my dishwasher due to the door having had swirl marks on the front it voided any extended warranty. Therefore, I like many others will have to pay a serviceman to come repair my dishwasher that I purchased just over a year ago. I would tell anyone looking for any type of appliance. Do not buy LG anything!!! Their customer service is awful and their warranty is ridiculous.Update 5/13/16: I received from LG names and numbers of authorized repairman in our area. Called their repairman, was told by them Oh, maam, you are not in my service area. So, therefore, I have no one to service my dishwasher.

I bought my LG French door refrigerator in 2011 and its pretty much dead now. The ice maker was always flakey but we lived with it. The gasket doors started hanging up and we lived through it. Then ice maker stopped making ice. Ordered new ice maker but found out that it was not making ice because it was not cold enough. Cleaned the coils and it just slowly got worse. Ordered a temp sensor and the main pcb. Tried those parts but still not cooling properly. Called LG. I figured it was the compressor because I read that LG was using bad compressors. Paid a certified LG service provider 600.00 in labor to replace compressor.Called Friday and by Tuesday they were replacing the compressor, wow Im feeling good about now. Two guys 4 or 5 hrs later and calls to LG and they were told they needed the main pcb. I gave them the new pcb I had ordered and the same problem persisted. The compressor shuts down after 15 minutes. They said they would have to order another one from LG and come back. After not hearing for a couple of days I called them and ask them What was up? They said that they ordered but because LG was having so many problems with these compressors they were back ordered and they had no idea when a new compressor would arrive. They said not their fault call LG and ask them.Call LG but they were useless. They said they were not having any issues with bad compressors and dont believe anything you read on the internet. I asked What about the service provider? Is he lying to me? LG responds that it does not take much to become a warranty service provider just ask to be one. No training. Wow! LG pretty much said 7 years is the lifespan of their products and then they become legacy and put at back of the bus. They will provide parts if they can get them. I own a LG55 inch tv that fail after about 5 years, found a main board out of Nova Scotia and was able to repair that. If it wasnt for that it would in the trash. So here is the problem I paid the service provider to replace the compressor and LG provided the part but if they have to come back to do it again who pays for that? LG can send another compressor but theyre not paying for the service. The service provider had two guys for about 4 to 5 hrs. Why would the service provider work for free? I can see this evolving into cant get parts from LG and LG saying they have no issues supplying good parts forever and never repairing my fridge. Thank god I did not but an LG exploding phone. It took them forever to recall those phones!

The hot surface lights on my LG range (lde3011st) have not worked and this could be a burn hazard. I also bought the service contract. Im not at all happy with LG as they will not even call me back and will not answer my emails. I also found there is an opening between the glass in the two ovens. Do not buy LG Washer WT4801CW! I bought an LG washer and dryer from the Home Depot this past March 3, 2012 with my tax money, thinking that I was getting a top-of-the-line. Well, I was wrong. Within 30 days of my purchase, it just stopped in a middle of a cycle. My clothes got locked in and I immediately called LG. Their response was that was a common known problem that those washers had and I couldnt get a replacement since they had the parts to fix it. So, I had fix-it parts on a brand new washer. So, after five days passed with my clothes still inside the washer, finally, a technician came out. My childrens clothes got damaged. It worked fine. I thought the nightmare was over until again, less than a month that the technician came out, it happened again on 5/4/12. This time, they knew who I was and just sent me to a supervisor. All she could say again was that if they had the parts to fix it, thats what they would do. I am very upset. I have to wait another five days to wash again and till then go to the Laundromat again. I dont know what to do; they will not replace this defective two-month old washing machine.

If I could I would have NO STAR - We’ve had nothing but bad luck with our LG appliances- first of all our dishwasher -the control panel went haywire 5 months after we got it- well that happened 2 more times since. When we built our home we also bought an LG gas range, refrigerator and microwave. So last year we went to Alaska and when we came home in August the stove control panel also had gone haywire. You cannot properly read the numbers that tell you the temperature/time so when you set the temperature you have no idea what youre setting it to. Called LG and after hours on the phone with them to get it repaired they did NOTHING. Our cost to find out by the repairman (we paid for) that to fix it we would spend more than what a new oven would cost. It is barely over a year old and possibly failed prior to being a year old! 2 days ago we woke up to our LG French door refrigerator inside as warm as our room temperature and everything inside ruined. It is just barely 2 years old! Called LG for repairs- ended up having to get our own repair guy, and it has a bad compressor, won’t read codes, and needs a new control board. The repairman said it’s an extensive repair and could possibly fail again easily (read class action law suit on them). Called LG back and now we have to wait to hear from Service Power to see if anyone can fix it. They offered NOTHING for the loss of food but would send us up to $200 for a mini fridge- and he’d send us an email for doing so- still waiting for that. These appliances cost thousands of dollars! Buyer Beware!!! They are junk!

I wish I could give LG a big fat ZERO because that’s what they deserve. I purchased a side by side LG refrigerator two years ago. Six months ago, the ice maker stopped working. Then it started working again four weeks ago, but only for a couple of days. Then the freezer stopped freezing. All my food thawed out and ended up in the trash. Then a few days later, the fridge itself stopped working with the exception of the water. Called LG customer service. They sent someone out five days later (after all the food in the unit ended up in the trash). The tech said he changed the compressor. The following day, the unit is still not working AND now the water isn’t working either. Tech came back out. Said the water line got tangled but now it’s fixed. Over the next five days, the unit worked for a few hours, then stopped. More food spoiled. LG sent the tech out a third time. This time he claims it was the Freon and possibly the motherboard. He left saying it should work now. It didn’t. Now it’s been another five days, more spoiled food. LG scheduled an appointment for yesterday. No one showed up. Called them. They apologized for the confusion and said someone would be here today. No one showed up again. Called them again. Now they said someone will be here tomorrow. Their products stink and so does their customer service. I will never buy another one of their products again!

Also its reliable and lasts and look nice. Easy to move and assemble and everything like that. Also looks great with my decor. I purchased a refrigerator 6 years ago, but in the last 3 years we have had the compressor go out and LG tech has had to replace it. Since June 2021 Ive had 4 tech come out and my unit still does not cool to the temperature its suppose to be. Ive only had 2 good customer service experience. I have noted the agent and time that Iven call. No one has no clue what they are doing or review any notes that I requested to be added to my account. Ive asked 4 times to speak to a Supervisor and Im still waiting for a call. After 3 months, they determined I could get a refund for a % of the cost (which Im fine with) or repair it again and going forward my warranty would be up and the repairs would be my responsibility. Meanwhile all the techs said this is going to go out again because they had issues with this model.I accepted the refund - Im still waiting for that too. All the advertisements and sites are all false - LG does not stand by their products and definitely does not care how the consumer. I just want a refrigerator that works. After all I did not get it free. I paid almost $4,000.00 for it. As far as a call center they need to hire new people, their customer service skills are extremely unacceptable.
