This was my first appliance purchase after the machine that came with my first home broke down unexpectedly. For several months I started researching washing machine features in multiple ways and LG kept showing up. The price, features and dependability of this appliance has earned my vote.

The knobs on the oven are not safe and are a fire hazard. All you have to do is lean against them a tad and the eyes will turn on. If you have children or animals you do not want this oven in your house. DO Not leave any items on the stove top because the knobs are so sensitive you will start a fire. They need to recall and fix this issue before a fire from this stove/oven causes deaths.

Purchased an LG washing machine model #wt4870cw 3 yrs ago and this is the 2nd service call in that span with the same problem. UE (unbalanced load) plus the inside top has rust around the fabric softener cup. Same problem we had 1 1/2 yrs ago!! It will cost us $285 for labor not including parts!! Terrible product and LG wont stand behind its product. Terrible customer service (from the Philippines)!! Will never buy another LG product again, not a TV, dishwasher, heck, not even a toaster!! Terrible product and company.

Ive had my LG washer for just under two years, and its been nothing but trouble. Water constantly leaks from underneath the machine. I do NOT put much detergent in, but the machine will constantly leave my clothes very wet - so much that I will have to re-run the cycle and drain the machine at every 5th load or so. Finding a repairman is next to impossible.

I hate LG, worse company to deal with when you need customer service or system repair. 69 days and still no resolution on my $2,900 refrigerator. After 1.5 years the unit quit working, after 50 phone calls and several attempts to fix their unit I still have no solution. They suck, they don’t care about the customer, they keep escalating my case and each time it takes 3-10 days to get an answer. They say they will contact me and they never do, I have to call them 3 times a week to keep things moving.Missing time from work to be home for repair people, they made a mess in my house. Open the system under pressure and sprayed refrigerant oil vapor in my kitchen and dining room… They don’t care about the customer at all… Keep apologizing on the phone, yet their action reflects zero effort to correct their defective unit. All the local LG service companies refused to work on their product, Technicians told me they can’t fix it and they will not touch an LG refrigerator sealed system. I have to say it’s the worse customer service experience of my life, I am so mad… Who can live for over two months without a refrigerator?

Our LG fridge is about 5 years old and it has died. I can understand that things can go wrong but the customer service at LG is terrible. They are extremely rude! We have had to take two days off work and it still isnt fixed. We were told the freon leaked out and the company had to address this problem. We spoke to several people at customer service and they were nasty. We have been without a fridge for two weeks and there is no end in sight. We are starting from scratch and have to be home between 10-2 tomorrow for a second service person to come out. They arent going to fix it! Just look at it! So we will likely have to take a third day off work if we are lucky enough to get anyone out to actually fix it. My husband was just recently diagnosed with cancer. The tumor is causing lots of pain. Ice packs help a bit but of course we have no way to keep them cold. This has been a real hardship! I would never buy another LG product. They have no respect for their customers and do not stand behind their products.

I liked the stainless steel and the LG brand. It did not disappoint. Which one is the best appliances Ive ever owned in my entire lifetime. The refrigerator is side by side chrome MID level fridge, better than most at 2 so I stay separated nicely. It has you can adjust temperature for different parts of the refrigerator, you can actually maintain different cooling. It was great. Wouldnt change anything. I really like the way it looks but Im not sure I like the fingerprints all over all the time. It seems like no matter what you do, you always have them.

The compressor on our refrigerator died in less than three years - a common problem we learned about after the fact. Prior to the compressor failing, we noticed the once beautiful black stainless finish was chipping and delaminating on the corners of the French doors. None of this was expected, nor is it considered acceptable based on the price. To LGs credit, it obviously recognized the poor quality of its compressors as evidenced by the fact it extended the warranty. So our compressor was replaced at no expense to us. Its much noisier than before, but seems to be working well. It wasnt fun being without our $3,200 refrigerator for three weeks. Its proof that you dont always get what you pay for, that reviews by users cant be trusted, and that anticipated reliability assessed by a leading consumer magazine is not accurate.

I picked up 2 LG stainless steel above range microwaves that were both used
I picked up 2 LG stainless steel above range microwaves that were both used, very attractive looking models, 1 was purchased 1 week before the other from different places and they both have the exact same cracked door. The door cracks on the side by the handle just below the arm that locks in place exits the frame. This has to be happening to every single one made since I got 2 in 2 weeks. For all of those who picked out all brand new LG products for their choice of appliances I have to ask if they would have chosen them if the name was Gold Star? Remember that terrible low quality manufacturer from the 1990s that made complete junk? Well its the same company that changed their name around 2000 to LG! How about that! Did you know this? Of course you didnt or you never would have considered LG for anything especially to be your brand for all your major appliances. Sometimes you need to research companies before you buy them. New names like Samsung, LG, Daewoo, Funia, Symphony, Orion, Oritron, iHome, Emerson, Visio, Trutech, Durabrand, Insignia, etc... All have some background, while some of these brands may make 1 or 2 good items, Funia is 1 of the largest manufacturers of all products made in China (kinda like a Mitsubishi or Sony in their own right) that actually makes products for dozens of companies including Sony and a long list of their own sub-companies plus for their own brand name as well. You would be surprised to know just how many other brands they provide parts for. Yet most would pick a Samsung over Funai any day of the week, just to pay more for something thats probably not even better or maybe even inferior to a Funai brand item.Funai has been around forever like Matsushita, Nakamichi, Sony, Yamaha, Mitsubishi, Matsubara, Akia, Awai, Nippon, JVC, and other Asian companies who have all made good stuff at one time but their parent companies have changed as the names are sold to larger conglomerates who names are never shown on their products. Most recently Samsung bought out the Harmon Group which has been making top notch audio gear for generations. Infinity, JBL, Harmon Kardon, Crown and others will no longer be what they once were, this happened 2 years ago and if you havent noticed yet these companies are not winning any high praise from the groups that once held them as top in their field. This is why its important to know who really makes the stuff you buy. Samsung is a maker of junk, plain and simple. They bought Harmon to try and get their foot in the door on car audio electronics and have really no other interest in continuing making high end audio, they will try to phase them out and apply their own brand name audio which will follow along their same disposable electronics junk they have shown to make in the past. You will see nothing impressive coming from them, all flash and bells and whistles. More plastic molded stuff like theyre used to making and they will market it for those who will fall for it. Looks definitely arent everything when it come to electronics, but many will learn the hard way. As most who bought LG did!

Ive had my LG Front Load washer for several years. It is horrible and always has been. My clothes smell and Ive tried every product to get rid of the smell. My white clothes are always dingy regardless of what I do. Now the bleach cup is always full of water after every load of clothes is washed. Upon washing another load, when the dispenser drawer is pulled out, the water in the bleach cup comes streaming out. I barely ever use bleach, so it cant be a rust problem. I will be glad when this horrible machine dies. Ill for sure get something else and not an LG product. My LG dishwasher isnt worth a hoot either. Never again will I purchase LG products.

The saga of the LG refrigerator: 11 months ago we bought an LG refrigerator
The saga of the LG refrigerator: 11 months ago we bought an LG refrigerator. When we came back to town the refrigerator had broken and everything in freezer was defrosted. We had to throw away hundreds of dollars of food. We contacted Costco concierge who contacted LG. This is where the fun begins: LG referred us to a repair company that had gone out of business, but we were told we had to wait 48 hours for them to contact us. Then we were given the name of another company several hours away from us who called us right back stated that a part had to be ordered and received before they could fix it. This was done without ever evaluating the problem. When the part arrived several days later, we were told we now had to wait several more days before someone could come out and install it. After the part was installed, we were told to let them know if the refrigerator hadnt cooled by the next day. It had not. They need several more days before a repair person could be scheduled to come back. The person came back and was not qualified to fix the problem - LG had referred us to a company that was not qualified to do repairs! After 6 hours on hold over two days between Costco concierge, LG customer service, and LG resolution department, I asked for a new refrigerator because we were told the next repair company could not come out to even look at the refrigerator for another week! In the mean time we are living out of a cooler trying to keep my husband fed with a special diet to deal with his throat cancer. I was assured by someone in the Resolutions department that our request was expedited, but it was not. We are now told that they have a week to decide whether to give us a new refrigerator or continue to draw out repair on the current one after initially telling us we would hear by the next day. When calling again today, the date given by LG of when they will respond has been moved back yet again. So that 3 weeks out we still are no closer to a repair.

Electric Range model number LDE3017SW. After only using my electric range a couple of times, I noticed steam and grease lines inside the door between the two glass panels. These lines and this film and grease have continued to cover the inside of the double paned window. My range always looks dirty as if I need clean the door windows, but the grease lines and steam lines are on the inside. I called to ask them to come to fix the seal or replace the door and they said they are unable to do so unless I pay someone to come take the door apart to clean it. I should not have to disassemble the door to clean it. The seal between the window panes are faulty or defective. I had my first Maytag range for the first 34 years without anything beyond normal wear and tear from use. This LG one cooks and bakes well, but has this issue which is hard to look at everyday. Also, the top is white and the burner glass top areas already have stain. This is not as big of an issue for me as the streaked windows in the door. LG has refused to send anyone out at their cost when this is a manufacturers defect.

We bought the above LG washer new at Best Buy on 3/16/14 along with an extended warranty. It wasnt delivered until 3/29/14. We ran it for ~2 weeks when on 4/13/14 it began spraying water all over our floor from the bottom right of the machine. I immediately called Best Buy about a return. Their policy is only 15 days. They count that 15 days from the date of purchase, not delivery. (Let that be a warning). So we only had the washer in our house and running for a few days before the return period ended. They would not honor a return and told us we had to go through LG. From there it got much, much worse. Have some patience to read the rest of this and you will get the true feel for LGs Customer Service. Pray you never have a problem. You can see in the attached transcripts that the repairman that came out basically saw a non-fixable problem and tried to the LG to condemn the unit. LG wouldnt do it as they saw it as repairable. Our repairman said all other companies he deals with would take the repairmans recommendation and replace the unit. He warned us that LG is different and that they would fight tooth and nail to not have to exchange the unit. Afterwards, I contacted LG customer service on the phone and was placed on infinite hold two times. I finally resorted to the chat room option. Read the transcript to get their idea of customer service. We had been without a washer for 2 weeks at that point and LG did absolutely nothing to help. No replacement, no loaner, no stipend towards a Laundromat, coupon, or even an apology. What we got was we have 30 days to fix it per our warranty and it sounds inconvenient for you. There was zero attempt at trying to appease us as customers. The 2nd round of parts came in, and sure enough as our repairman said, they didnt solve the problem. It was now 4/29 and we are livid to still be without a working washer after spending over $800. He provided them copies of our receipts and LG stated they would start processing an RA (return authorization review). We were told we would hear from LG in a day or so. A few days went by, I tried calling LG again. No response. Emailed. No response. Finally, managed to get hold of a Customer service manager. They told me they had 3 days to process an RA. I told her it had now been over a week. She didnt know what to say. She also stated they didnt have copies of our receipts. They did, but I resent them again. Now go to the next email string.Today, my wife called again. LG said they didnt process anything because they didnt have the receipts. I had to provide them a THIRD TIME. We were then told it will take 3 working days or more to process the return through Best Buy and about another week to 10 working days before they will arrange for a replacement unit. That does not count time for delivery. They still dont care and wont help in any way. So we are looking at being without a washer for about 1-1/2 months or more. We are still scrambling to get laundry done. I will be looking to get the photos taken by our repairman showing the gap in the machine and post them once received.Consequences? My wife has been traveling 20 miles each way to her mothers house ~2-3 times per week to do laundry. A few times she has gone to a local neighbors house. I have had to leave work early and take personal time to travel 30 miles (45 minutes) on 3 occasions so far to deal with the service calls. Hours spent on the phone and the Internet trying to reach resolution. Inconvenience. Frustration. Strained relationships with relatives. A mess on our floor that I had to clean up. About 1-1/2 months without a washer after spending $800 on what was sold to me as a supposed functional unit.

I have waited over three months for my order to be filled by LG, I placed my order through an reputable online Dealer. So this sale is now in the hands of LG and I have no idea where my product is? Where it shipped from? Or how long I will wait for it? The Holidays approach and that may interfere with accepting any freight without prior arrangement for obvious reasons. I have no idea how to contact LG, or how I would reference my order even if I could contact them.Customer Care with this Company is ridiculously poor, I spent a bunch of money and I am in the Dark on my end. I recently moved into a new house that came with 1 HE LG Washer & 1 HE LG Dryer (Model DLE2150S). When I saw it was an LG brand coming into the house, I knew that I would be in lots of trouble. Needless to say, a little over a month of moving in and our HE dryer now does not turn on. I looked the simple troubleshooting in the manuals and it did not work. I then turned to the worst customer service I have ever experienced.I called LG Canada. I got to this lady who then proceeded to ask me what was wrong. I informed her and she asked me if I have unplugged it. I told her yes I have and plugged it back in. She asked me Well, Maam, how long did you unplug it? and I replied (knowing most computers take 10 sec to reload) 10 seconds. She replied, Oh no Maam, you must unplug for 30 min at least. Well how the heck was I supposed to know? After you do that, then plug it back in to reset and if it still has trouble turning on, which I highly doubt it will, you must contact sellers warranty. Well needless to say, it still doesnt turn on. Thanks for your useless and crappy service LG!

I did not look up reviews before I purchased this refrigerator, I wish I did! On the upscale price of closer to the $3000 mark, I feel I got a lemon. I loved the look, style, features, and all the different slide out drawers and compartments. I was sold! This is everything I could want in a refrigerator. Then came the disappointment... In the first year, it was getting ice build up on the inside of the refrigerator. Repair said it some kind of software problem, wasnt programmed correctly or something. It is the second year I have it, it will be in November 2016 two years old. Not working again, repair tech says this time the compressor is SHOT!!! REALLY that is the heart of the unit, in two years. So it is under warranty for the part but not the labor. So it will cost $450 to fix. On Tuesday they were supposed to expedite the part. Its Saturday and Im still waiting. I thought expedite meant send it NOW! I wrote a few emails to LG, they responded, Were sorry for your troubles and inconvenience. We have sent your concerns to complaint dept. Blah blah blah. Wont ever buy another LG product.

Not even a month after we purchased the matching LG front load steam washer and dryer we started having issues. The washer started leaking water from the door when it was running. Maintenance guy came out and basically told us it was our fault. Now a year later, when we open the dryer it literally smells like we have farm animals living in the dryer. Maintenance guy comes out and once again its our fault. These machines are high maintenance and require a complete wipe down after every use. Wipe down the gaskets the doors and leave them open to air out (we have a toddler yeah thats safe) Dryer had to be semi disassembled and the amount of lint the bypasses the filter is INSANE! Why even have a filter it doesnt look like it catches anything! Them wiped down with bleach and sprayed with white vinegar. I wrote a review maybe a year ago... same problem everyone had with the unbalanced load of the LG washer and no credible response by LG except... go pay a repairman to fix it. I read about 2 possible home-made cures... and one really works. Take an old throw-away bathroom hand towel, and fold it over and over to get it to a point where it can barely... BARELY... get wedged with all your might on top of the drum/cylinder in your washing machine and under the metal frame above it. I really struggled to get it in there... That is how tight it must be. Now do another towel... same way, for the opposite side of the machine. One towel is at (say) 9 oclock and the other is at 3 oclock. And dont worry that maybe 2+/- of the towel hangs out over the inner portion of the tub... there should be an equal portion hidden out of sight to the other side of the top of the drum. This way the towel can move a bit during a cycle and yet basically enough stays in place to absolutely keep the drum from rotating out of balance. Thats it. While the towels might move a bit during a washing cycle and end up at 11 and 5 on the imaginary clock, as long as they are opposite each other, they work. Just check them after each cycle... Are they tight? Do they need to be re-wedged in there? To help further, I have run the spin cycle only as high as medium. My first few cycles showed me that the towels were not wedged tightly enough in the opening, so be ready to re-do this part a couple of times until you realize how hard you have to work to get those two towels wedged into place so tightly that maybe there is not even room to push a quarter in above the towel. Be careful of your fingers as you do this... That is how tight I wedged these towels in!!! See photo. I have run maybe 20 loads since this cure was found online... and I have no more UE messages. I used to get a UE message every time I ran the machine!!!

The LFX25973D/00 FRENCH DOOR refrigerator obviously has problems with its linear compressor. Almost every person who bought one of these, has the problem that it stops cooling after 2 years. I have read this over and over and over and over. If you replace the compressor-it breaks again in 2 years. It is ridiculous that I read reviews saying this is a great product when a class action lawsuit was opened up over this defect? Why can’t LG in S Korea manufacture a replacement compressor that isnt defective so everyone with this product can just put the new compressor in and everything is good? Instead 10’s of 1000’s of these are being left at city dumps. WHAT A WASTE. :-( It is very indicative of what type of company LG is when they do absolutely nothing about it and keep selling the product anyway. I will never ever buy an LG product ever again and I will tell every person I can to do the same.

The 10 year warranty LG highlights on their compressor is misleading. We spent $2300 on an LG French door refrigerator in late November 2015, it stopped cooling in February 2018 (26 months). Two techs found the compressor failed. While the part is covered, the $600-$800 in labor is not. After reading other nightmares, we opted to buy a new fridge (NOT an LG) and contact an attorney. I would not recommend LG refrigerators nor will I ever buy an LG product again.

After less than a year the display panel on my LG french door refrigerator started to peel up. Called Best Buy whom I purchased it from, they transferred me to LG. This is where the epic disappointment comes in, I understand that things break even though it has been less than 1 year but there is no excuse for the complete lack of help that LG provided. They gave us the run-around, never called the service shop that was supposed to take care of my area, never gave us an RN number, then to top it off they cancelled the repair appointment that we finally got after a million phone calls because there were 2 different phone numbers on the request. They never notified us that they cancelled the appointment so my boyfriend missed a whole day of work waiting for the repair people (who conveniently then couldnt find any of our info). All it would have taken was a phone call to either numbers to straighten it out, btw they said having 2 numbers on the request was fine that they would call both but instead they called neither. I cant believe the level of disorganization and disregard from LG. I will never trust this brand ever again.

I have purchased a LG Microwave Oven model MS4266OBS from Good Guys in 2018. The following statement is printed on the glass door of the MW oven: Smart Inverter Magnetron 10-year Warranty - Please see the picture attached. It doesnt say either Part only warranty or Limited Warranty. My LG MW oven does not heat after 4 years. LG Customer support asked me to perform a quick test and they determined that the Magnetron is faulty and need to replace. They also told me that they do provide the part free of charge but I have to pay for the labour. When I mentioned what is printed on the glass door of the MW oven, they said I need to refer to the operations a manual that comes with the MW oven to get full details of the 10-year warranty and its my faulty as I have not read the operations manual before making the purchase. As per the advice received from the LG Australia Customer Services, LG EXPECTS ALL CUSTOMERS TO READ THE OPERATIONS MANUAL OF ANY LG APPLIANCE prior to buying them as what is written in the operations manual could be a clear contradiction of what is printed on the appliance. This is misleading the customers who trust whats written on the appliance to be accurate as per how it is written on the appliance. BE CAREFUL with this dodgy company, their dodgy products and customer service! It is not possible for anyone to read the operations manual of a product at a shop before you purchase it. I am not sure how these companies were allowed to operate in this kind of dodgy manner.

Four and a half years ago, we purchased a new fridge from American Appliance in Madison, WI. We looked at several models and were debating between a GE Profile and a similar LG model. We were concerned about the reliability of the LG brand and asked the salesman; he said he hadnt heard of any problems and that they were reliable. We decided to go with the LG. We started having problems last year and the main circuit board went out, which was about $500 to fix.I asked several friends if they have had trouble with any LG appliances and I was shocked at how many people I know who have had trouble with the reliability of LG. I wish Id followed my instincts and avoided the LG brand. Our fridge is now incessantly beeping, even when the door is not open. Today, it started grumbling very loudly. Im afraid Im in for another giant repair bill. I really wish wed bought the GE Profile fridge.

LG dishwasher stopped working after 6 weeks-refusing to replace. Purchased
LG dishwasher stopped working after 6 weeks-refusing to replace. Purchased dishwasher 7/1/21, delivered 8/10/21. Started leaking at top of door end of October. LG authorized service center made 3 visits between beginning of November and beginning of December. The unit was pulled out and re installed with each visit. Door gasket changed, door lock latch replaced. Unit then developed leak from bottom of door and AE leak code that makes unit beep until power is hit off at the electrical panel. LG then sent out their regional “expert.” He determined a crack in the door panel liner. He also scratched up the control panel during his repairs. He stated that when he finally got a new door liner, that 3 others had been sent to him with damage. They also sent the wrong control panel replacement. The tech, named Jude, called LG with me standing next to him and told them unit continues to leak and is unrepairable. He did a live video with the LG techs showing them the leak and another crack he found in the door. After many emails, texts, phone calls, LG is refusing to refund/replace saying damage was due to incorrect installation of unit. This determination was made after 6 service visits in which the dishwasher was taken in and out each time by an LG authorized service person. It was never noted or mentioned to me the consumer that there was an install issue at any of these service appointments. Nor did their expert say that to LG when he spoke to them In front of me. If it was truly damage caused by installation why did LG pay for 6 service calls? Wouldn’t that have been noted after the first visit ? I now have a new piece of junk that worked for 6 weeks and had been non functional since 10/30, when I made the call for service. LG has offered me 20% off a new dishwasher. Why would I buy another LG product after this experience? The least they could do is provide me a replacement unit if they won’t give a refund.

Four visits by LG technicians failed to solve this problem. I wrote several letters both to LG and Home Depot. Finally, we were contacted by Home Depot who offered either a replacement or a refund. We purchased an LFX28979ST LG French Door Refrigerator 11/10/2012 from Home Depot. Wish we would have read these reviews. We contacted Home Depot shortly after we purchased the refrigerator to inform them that this refrigerator would be going into a custom cabinet and we could not get it to plum correctly into the cabinet. They tried to get someone to come out but we live in a rural community and no one would service us in our area. LG has since fixed this on the new refrigerators. Now, we have ice forming on the bottom of our freezer and water is coming out onto our floor. If we dont clean the ice out every 3 days, water goes onto our floor. This water has already ruined our custom cabinet because weve been gone away. We can not get any service from LG because we are in a rural area. We will NEVER BUY another LG product again!!

Two years later in 2013...the power would turn on but drum wouldnt turn... Had that repaired, costs approx. 300.00 in total... Now the power turns off and the drum keeps going. And LG service dept stinks. They charge 100.00 just to come out to look at it, and then you have to pay for them to come back again to fix it. Doesnt anyone stand behind their product anymore? Oh, and the washer smells... When that breaks, I wont even try to repair it. Think I will cut my losses and buy a different brand, Kenmore.

We own a lot of LG products so when we were in the market for a new stove, we went straight to the LG section. Well my burner on my range wont turn off. I called LG and they told me my model was on recall and they were aware of the problem. The tech came out and said he had to order the part. Then after spending way too much time on hold (One guy didnt even put me on hold, he put me on mute for 20 minutes!!!), they told me my range was not on the recall list!!! So I would be responsible for the parts and labor!! I then spoke to the supervisor who basically told me there was nothing she could do. So what am I supposed to do with this defected stove... leave the burner on and burn down my house? Not only that the number they gave me for the tech was no longer in service, I had to Google the company myself and provided LG with the correct number... For that alone they should fix my stove! So I will be contacting the better business bureau ...Heres the real kicker, Im hosting Thanksgiving dinner at my house!!! LG stands for Lousy Grinches! They stole my Thanksgiving. I purchased TWO LG front loader washing machines from Home Depot for my own use. From day one the clothes never came out clean. Because I had bought two I assumed that this issue was with my plumbing and had the plumber back in several times. Each time he assured me that there was no issue with the plumbing. I finally called my extended warranty company to come and take a look at the machines. The technician simply shook his head and said that he understands my frustration as he owns the same machine. There is simply no sufficient water in these high efficiency front loaders to wash laundry! They are marketed as giving a superior wash yet DO NOT WASH THE CLOTHES AT ALL! Try washing a load of laundry in the sink and adding just one jug of water! I am still hopeful that LG will stand behind its product and replace these machines, as I currently have two very nice looking ORNAMENTS in my home.

I saved my money for over a year and was proud to purchase matching fridge, stove, and dishwasher in black stainless steel almost 2 years ago. My new appliances were wonderful until a month ago when the finish started flaking off and before you say it is my fault, no I do not use abrasive cleaners on the finish. The stove started first, where the handle meets the door and now the fridge is doing the same. I am now embarrassed to have these in my kitchen. I emailed my complaint to LG and the response was very complacent, they really didnt seem to care. I will never buy LG anything, ever.

My refrigerator has been repaired as of this date. After the May 15, 2020 service the freezer worked but not completely. It would not freeze ice cream and with a couple of weeks stopped working again. The follow up repair which was 06/23/20 appears to have finally resolved the issues with this freezer/refrigerator not cooling and freezing properly. I must say it has been a frustrating few years since the original incident in 2018 thru 2020. LG has resolved the issue finally and I hope this products keep functioning properly. Overall I am satisfied with the last repair done around June 2020. I have not had any problems with the refrigerator since. The repairman was very nice I must say and the 2nd time he was out appears to have fixed the problem.

1st I contacted LG and because my dryer was purchased in Nov 2014, it was out of warranty. I was provided a schismatic to properly identify the part I needed (A255 - see exploded view of page 49). I was also required to work with an authorized parts distributor near me (California). I initiated my order the 1st week of August and got 2 incorrect parts because LG Parts Department does not label their items correctly!! The authorized dealer was apologetic and I was given a full refund. So next I called LG directly and they too send me 2 different incorrect parts. After several weeks of calling and arguing to speak to a US based representative, I got Erica ** in Executive Services who was unhelpful, rude, and downright wrong in her understanding of the entire situation. Now what? I am now being told I have to buy the entire TOP of my dryer to fix the plastic hinge that broke on my steam compartment. So why does LG make such a piece of crap that needs to have replacement parts within 2.5 years of purchase? I would actually appreciate an answer. Also, Why cant I buy a replacement part without dealing with stupid representatives? Buy the entire lid? REALLY?So I would like a rep to contact me and ship me A255; that item is not a huge metal door hinge. It is a small piece of plastic!!! It goes into A260 which I was able to purchase without ANY ISSUES. The lovely Erica ** stated LG Corp has mislabeled page 49 and the part I was sent IS the correct part. How was I able to buy A260 (lid) and A255 be a part that is not purchasable? Why is all this made of such cheap plastic? So Erica wants me to replace the entire lid of my dryer... That is everything featured on page 49 section A210 for a ridiculous $150 AND I still have to install all that. Those parts arent even broken! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING LG. I never will again. They are horrible!!

I bought my LG Electric range just over a year ago. We knew the front knobs were very sensitive but didnt realize how bad until it my husband was cleaning the kitchen, set the Ninja on the stovetop while cleaning the island. Seems he leaned against the knobs and 2 turned on. He went out to empty the trash and by the time he got back in, we had fire. Both Ninja and Range were burned beyond repair. Our new backsplash will have to be repaired. Well need to repaint some. But no one was hurt. No pets hurt. I immediately, naively wrote to the President of LG. Nothing. Tried again a couple days later. I did receive a phone call from a Sheena Turner in Alabama with the title of President Liaison/Voice of Customer. She said she could send someone out but needed the serial #. Theres NO SERIAL NUMBER on the range. Isnt that convenient? Both my husband and I have gone over the range several times. Ive taken pictures and sent to her to prove theres no serial number. Thats when she stopped communicating. So, oh well. She cant help. So like the rest of their customers with this problem, Im just screwed and they dont care. Then I visited Consumer Affairs to see if we were the only ones with this problem. Apparently allot of us have the same problem. So I sat down, copied and pasted to Word every review that pertained to the knobs, back 4 years, 52 bad/frustrated reviews. Ive printed out and will write a letter to Home Depot, Lowes, Best Buy and The Consumer Product Safety Commission with copies of the 16 pages of reviews I have. This will be sent USPS certified mail to each with return receipt to make sure each received.I want to be sure each of the retail stores know they are selling dangerous products and the CPSC surely needs to take a look at this. Maybe nothing will come of it, but these stores need to be put on notice and when something bad does finally happen and sadly it will. contact me. Ill have proof they were notified. For me, Im tossing the range. I wont have it in my house and its damaged anyway. My last email to Ms. Sheena (she hasnt returned an email since I told her I cant find a serial number on my range). How are you going to feel when someone dies in a fire caused by an LG range. You work for this company. Are you going to be able to look yourself in the mirror? No response. OMG. What a runaround, On Jan 14 2018 the unit (LG Armoire door in door 2 year old refrigerator) was not cooling. Spoke to a rep in the Philippines. Advised would contact tech and order part. She would follow up with an authorization code, which also never happened. On Jan 18, 2018, called LG Executive Service in Alabama for an authorization code and was advised would be set up with a Sears repair company. Finally on Jan 25, 2018 the repairman came and guess what - no authorization code in the system and I would have a $700 repair for a compressor which needed to be ordered. His manager would not speak to a “customer“. Finally I called executive service at LG in Alabama again and was confirmed that it was never set up correctly. She did set it up today, Jan 25, 2018. The service tech was now able to order the parts and would call me back with a time and date for him to come back to install the parts. So, going on more than 10 days of phone calls and waiting will continue for another unacceptable time. Stay tuned! This story seems to be repeated in all the reviews. UPDATED 10/10/2020: DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS!!! So... Not only am I still to hear back from LG here (since that was their response on this website) but ever since the compressor was replaced, the in-door icemaker only works when I reset it, and the extra ice maker in the freezer doesnt work at all anymore. Once again, it will take about 10 days to get somebody here to check it out, at which time I have no doubt it will then take another 2 weeks to get it fixed. Also, the finish on our 3 y/o LG washer is now peeling away below the detergent drawer. Totally disgusted by the product quality and customer service of this company.UPDATED 9/28/2020: STARDATE: 09282020 CAPTAINS LOG: 3RD ENTRY. LG replied to my prior review that they could not reach me as they had no contact info, case number, etc., but stating that they really want to help me out and make things right. Mind you, my review specifically noted their chosen repair service, A&E, so why they couldnt track me down is inexcusable and just further illustrates their apathy. Anyway, in their reply they asked me to reply in private with my contact info, which I did. After 2 weeks, I still have yet to hear back from them. Stay tuned...ORIGINAL REVIEW: Compressor failed after only 2.5 years of service. (Compared to its predecessor GE still going strong after 10 years.) After LG diagnosed bad compressor over the phone, we had to wait for two weeks for a service technician to visit. Instead of bringing the new part he simply confirmed the diagnosis and said it would take another two weeks to order and install the parts. The tech who ultimately replaced the compressor (with basically the same model, oh great!) stated that the initial tech was not telling the truth because they all carry LG compressors in their trucks as the problem is so common and widespread. We initially had to discard hundreds of dollars in food, plus we had to constantly buy ice and live out of ice chests in the garage over the course of nearly one month without the LG. Turns out there is a class action suit because of LG knowingly continuing to use the same faulty compressor, so guess Ill be adding to this complaint in a couple years!

LG dryer SN 611KWBY00437, model number DLE5977S and LG washer SN 612KWFN024
LG dryer SN 611KWBY00437, model number DLE5977S and LG washer SN 612KWFN02411, model number WM2277HS/01 - We purchased this set of front loaders for obvious reasons, or so we thought. We wanted something efficient, low cost to run and something big enough to handle the capacity of clothing that 3 teenage girls throw at you and 2 teenage boys, then of course, mine and my husbands along with being able to wash a comforter for a king size bed and actually get them clean. This is not what we got with the LG front loaders at all! No matter how often we use the tub clean, the washer still stinks! Ive washed the rubber gasket inside and out thinking something is lodged in the gasket making it stink, but nope, its the tub or better yet, whats under the tub. They that claim its a buildup of soap and fabric softener, so I asked the LG representative how I could get rid of this horrible smell that wreaks through my home while washing a load of laundry and how do I get it to stop ruining my clothes. Ive had to throw away towels and clothes because the washer makes my clothes stink and the stink wont come out! She said that is not something theyre obligated to fix, which really turned my attitude from pleasant to obvious anger and asked her If anything goes wrong with your products, your obligation to fix because you damn sure arent doing a good job or there would not be so many complaints! Needless to say, my family must deal with the problems of the washer. Now for the dryer, out of the blue the dryer sounded like I put a few bags of rocks inside. It was so loud I just knew the drum of the dryer was going to explode! So, I called Sears to have them come and take a look at it and fix it. He said, I hear the noise and understand what you are talking about, but I cant find where the problem would be at. Drum belt, rollers or split drum. He felt bad about it and told me this has been a frequent, continuing problem with the LG front loaders and I know the guy felt bad because he didnt even charge me. He works for Sears and we know how they are about that $75 service call. So now, Im back on the phone with LG and they told me to do what Ive already done and that was to call Sears for repair. When I told her I already did that and went through all of that, she said if the repairman doesnt find a problem, then the dryer is fine and should be working properly. I turned it on for her and she was just so sure I put something in it for dramatic purposes! I explained to LG, a minimum of 10 calls, that the washer stinks and is ruining my clothes and that my dryer is obnoxiously loud, takes 1 hour and 39 minutes to dry clothes, which is the maximum time you can put on this particular dryer and the clothes still may be damp. She said I was probably overloading the drums. If 6 towels is overloading front loaders (washer and dryer), then the quality of LG is of very, very poor quality. With so many people having these very same complaints, LG should take pride in their customers and recall these items. When you spend $1,900 for a matching washer/dryer front loaders that claim to be efficient, but it takes over an hour to dry clothes, it doesnt sound very efficient to me. Needless to say, if anyone ever asks me about LG washers and dryers, I will not only tell them to run, but to sprint like their butt is on fire because they will be wasting their money. The washer tub stinks, which makes your clothes stink. No fix. The dryer is horribly loud, doesnt dry clothes very well at all. Finally, the belt and/or rollers on the dryer tub broke and the heating element went out. An expensive fix and a very common problem with this product. Do serious research when youre ready to purchase a new washer and dryer. No way would I ever recommend LG products.

We bought a set about a year ago the LG washer inverter direct drive/true balance anti-vibration system with steam technology and the LG sensor dry with steam technology. I thought it might be too technical but its easy to use and my water bill is 7 to 10 dollars a month cheaper and we use a 1/4 of the detergent that we did before. And the options are many and it plays a musical tune when its done not a buzz that scares you and it large enough to do anything. I got the extended warranty because of the electronic board. Only one problem was the washer is so deep my wife has to use grabbers to get the laundry out of the washer. I think this was money well spent on and I like that the door on the dryer can pull down or from the side, the washer has a glass top thats called diamond glass and a soap and softener dispenser. I did wish they had it in something more than white and Im still learning thing about it like I can connect it to my phone to let me know when its done but I really have to say thats pretty lazy. I hope this helps someone if theyre looking.

We just got this machine in last Friday. After doing a few loads over the weekend, I was wondering if there was something wrong. The black control panel is very hard to read! It has gray lettering on a black background. I called LG to see if there was a backlight that wasnt working, and was told that there is no backlight. Seems to me that LG has mad a very basic design error with the panel. It should have white lettering, as do most other machines with this type of panel. I actually made myself a vinyl overlay with white lettering to make it more usable for myself. Something that LG needs to address ASAP!

When we remodeled our house, we redid our kitchen, and my wife picked out the refrigerator. We also got everything matching. So, that was why we went with them. LG is a well-known brand, and the unit we got was on sale and it was about the size we needed. Also, it is quieter than what we had. We have had our refrigerator for two years now and it was good, but the compressor went out on it. So, we had to have warranty work done on it. It works good now. The serviceman who came was good, too.

My LG refrigerator broke down over a week ago after just 18 months. I paid over $3,500 for it. I have been trying to have my case reviewed by LG for over a week now but they keep rejecting my proof of purchase even though on top of the original receipt and invoice, the Home Depot store where I purchased it from, issued an official proof of purchase letter. I spent over $7,200 on all LG appliances and I am not happy with any of them. The display on the stove broke down in the first week I had it. The washer keeps stalling when I run certain programs. The dryer routinely stops with an error message that the duct is blocked (which is bogus, we checked it on many occasions and there is no obstruction) and the dishwasher does not completely dry the dishes even in extra dry mode. I have never before written a negative review but this company does not deserve to be in business. They do not stand by their product and use the annoying and false slogan Life is Good. Good for them maybe. Not for the customer. Their customer service is a nightmare. All calls are answered by representatives who serve as a layer of protection so you cannot actually get through to anyone who is a decision maker. If you are considering a purchase of an appliance, please stay away from the LG brand!!! Worst ever. I owned a Samsung fridge before and it worked like a dream and was nicely designed. I kick myself in the rear end for not sticking with my gut when I made the decision to purchase the LG junk brand.

Very upset this happened to my fairly new range!

Steam washer Model #WM2688 - My son gave me an LG Tromm washer and dryer set for a Mother’s Day/Birthday present in 2008 and I was thrilled! In the beginning it was so quiet I wasnt sure it was running! About 6 months ago I noticed it was getting a bit noisier. Then it suddenly started rocking during the spin cycle. My husband checked it for level and it was perfect. We manually changed the spin cycle to Medium in hopes it would no rock during the spin cycle. It got progressively louder as time went on. I want to add that there are only two of us and we do 4-5 loads of laundry per week. This machine was not working hard for us. It finally began making a different sound and was getting even louder. I called for a repairman. He tried out a couple of cycles and said, Your bearings are going out. I asked if that was normal, for a 7 yr. old washer and he said, “I see it all the time. Sometimes at 5 yrs. and sometimes at 10 yrs. When I asked what it would cost to repair he said he would write out an estimate for me. When he handed it to me I thought hed made a mistake. $829.22! Its a $900.00 machine new! He then said he wanted to look and see if anything was under warranted. The stainless steel drum had a lifetime warranty so my bill dropped to $531.20. What kind of a company sells a machine that much to repair? Repairman told me that he sees this all the time and rarely does anyone pay to have them fixed. I dont consider a $900.00 washing machine exactly a throwaway! I am thoroughly disgusted with a company that continues to build a product with a known problem leaving its consumers to pay for it! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LG PRODUCT. I will also make sure that no one that I know doesnt either.

We purchased a new upscale LG washer and dryer when we recently moved. Dryer works great. The washing machine does not provide enough water to cover the clothes unless one pushes the button for additional water but that is not the primary gripe. Without an agitator the clothes get all tangled up on the bottom of the machine and we dont believe the clothes get as clean as with an agitator. Who designed these machines without an agitator?? That was a proven design and has worked well for many years. Would not buy another one.

So if youre not home to restart.. They smell! The dryer also seems to take a long time to dry. Who would think that products would decline in quality... With all this technology we have today!!! I purchased a brand new LG refrigerator in December of 2015 from H. H. Gregg (who went bankrupt shortly after my purchase therefore making the extended warranty null and void). Sunday morning September 23, 2018 I woke up to find a puddle in front of the freezer compartment (its a side by side). I opened the freezer to find everything defrosting rapidly. I put everything in the refrigerator side (which seemed cold). Within the day I realized the refrigerator wasnt working either. The next day, September 24th (my birthday) my husband called an appliance service person (Coastal Appliance) who came within the hour. The technician, Mark said it was the linear compressor 134A that failed. He said morally he couldnt fix it because the failure rate on this part is too high and too expensive. After checking on his phone he said the parts and labor would cost approximately $1,000 and it would only fail again at some point. He suggested we purchase another refrigerator not an LG or Samsung as they both use the same compressor. I feel like I was scammed by the LG Refrigerator company. I paid thousands of dollars for this refrigerator and I should be getting more than 2 years and 10 months of service from it.

I purchased LG washing machine model #WT5101HW on 6-26-2011. In December, I realized that the hot/cold cycle was not hot. The water was really not even warm. I called LG and after speaking to numerous people, they agreed to send a tech out. On December 20, 2011, the tech arrived only to inform me that it was an ongoing problem and there was nothing he could do. It was the way LG designed the machine. On the hot cycle, it adds both hot and cold water so that is why it is not hot. I was furious! I called LG and they informed me that if I wanted to wash my clothes in hot water to use the sanitary cycle which is a 3 hour cycle or the bright whites cycle. My washing machine has an internal heater that is supposed to heat the water to 122 degrees on bright whites and 158 on sanitary. On my bright whites, it is only 90 degrees and not sure what it is on sanitary. LG is advertising that they have a hot cycle when in fact it is not hot and it makes no sense to add cold water to perfectly good hot water and then heat it back up! How is this energy efficient? I called LG again today and now I am being informed that the heater only works on sanitary and if I want hotter water on my cycles, I need to turn up my hot water heater. On page 7 on the instruction manual, it clearly says, the heater increases water temperature and provides better cleaning for sanitary and bright whites.” So, even LG is admitting hotter water cleans better! This machine is a complete joke. LG should not be able to advertise that this machine has a hot cycle when it fact it does not.

We bought an expensive $2000+ LG French door refrigerator from Pacific Sales. 16 months later refrigerator stopped cooling and freezing. LG customer service after several attempts to diagnostic and instructions to reply in the refrigerator and wait 24 hrs they finally said to call a certified LG 3rd party. They said this is a common well known defect. Compressor may be covered by LG parts, but back ordered for weeks and labor would be 700.00 and no guarantee it would last more than 1-2 yrs. Called Pacific Sales to see if they can help us resolve issue or help us good a good deal on a new refrigerator. Called twice. They said the manager would call but they never called back and were useless. Don’t back or service their sales. We gave up and bought a new refrigerator from Sears with a 5 yr warranty to be safe. Lesson —- DO NOT BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR. There is a class action lawsuit against them. They NEED TO ACCEPT THE PROBLEM AND compensate the people that have been taken advantage of with suboptimal technology parts and service and support from all levels. So irresponsible and careless. Embarrassing. LG will eventually go out of business with that record.

This was the biggest mistake buying the LG LFX 2578ST. After only 6 months the compressor conked out. LG has left us waiting for a replacement compressor on order that will take 2 or 3 days at which point the repair person would be sent out. I have always bought Miele and Bosch appliances but because we had space limitations the LG was perfect, looked good and had all the features we needed. The fridge I replaced was 12 years old and we never had a problem with it. LG has been less than helpful and really left us stranded with no fridge. I have no confidence in their product and customer service has been disappointing. They are not solution focused, have no intention of replacing the fridge and state they will cover only $250 in perishables in a lifetime. My husband purchased an LG front load washer dryer set about a year ago. The washer has been fine so far but the dryer has been a nightmare. Theres the usual problem of the lint trap sticking up so it grabs your strappy things and rips them apart. I cant put any camisoles, bras, etc in the washer. Also I washed a load of all my summer skirts this spring and my daughter didnt know the dryer is hell bent on destroying everything I love and put the whole load in it. Needless to say I lost every last one of them. They came out in a twisted torn up knot with drawstrings ripped off and holes in all the light material. Not one was salvageable.Theres another major design flaw with the lint filter though and thats had the holes in it are too big. Theyre the perfect size for catching big zippers and things and ripping them off. My husband and I both wear Carhartt coveralls in the winter and have multiple pairs. The latch on the front of the coveralls gets caught in the lint filter and ripped off. The zipper on BOTH my Carhartt coats has been destroyed and I have one pair of coveralls left that havent been in that dryer. 4 coveralls, 2 coats, multiple bras, camisoles, nightgowns, skirts, all ruined.Every time I load that dryer from hell I feel compelled to stand and watch the entire time with one finger on the pause button and one hand on the door to try and catch it when it starts to eat my clothes. Sometimes I can catch it, other times its too fast for me. I literally stood there and watched it devour my favorite and newest pair of overalls before I could get the door open. I have a thousand dollar dryer that Im afraid to use and a clothes line in my laundry room. This was a huge mistake, Ill never buy lg anything ever again.

It would chirp and die immediately. A tech came out, said it needed a board. He ordered it and it came in and was replaced. Worked for a day or two and did exactly the same thing. He then stated that the power from the breaker box to the plug had some sort of power fall off.I called the electrician who verified no issues with the power. The LG Tech came back, the problem was not fixed and he stated the same thing. I called the electrician back. We changed out the breaker and the plug. I purchased an LG French door refrigerator for my newly remodeled kitchen in December of 2008. During this time, I have had 9 service calls - 8 of which pertained to the water system. Each time, there was leakage in the rear of the appliance which remained undetected for some time since the fridge was built in. When finally discovered water had been sitting on my hardwood floor for days and days. The plastic water tube along the back of the appliance split twice and water valves failed 3 times. After awhile the sitting water eventually seeped into the underlayment of my hardwood floor and wicked its way out and under the floor of the eating area of my kitchen which then warped the floorboards terribly. I now have a warped, bumpy floor, very noticeable and will have to spend $3,000 to have the entire floor redone. After repeated attempts for relief from LG, I was told I had not saved all the broken parts so I had no evidence and therefore they would do nothing. Who saves the broken parts once they have been replaced? NEVER, NEVER purchase an LG refrigerator. Every time a serviceman came over he said Oh ya, LG is no good. This is not the first time I have had water and ice in the door. My last fridge was a Kenmore and never saw a sign of a leak. AGAIN, NEVER, NEVER buy one of these refrigerators.

During its first use I could hear what sounded like a fan, come to a grinding halt. We called LG and were told that because it’s out of warranty we would have to take it to an authorized repair shop (but would most likely have to pay for the repair ourselves). The nearest shop is about an hour away, and that’s after we take it down from the wall/cabinets. Then we are expected to reinstall it. I’m beyond overwhelmed and deeply disappointed.

We went shopping for a similar range and I thought the model I was purchasing was self clean. We were in a family crisis at the time so I didnt do my normal research. I know the sales associate realized I wanted self clean so I really didnt pay enough attention. It was a while before we really used the range as we were out of town with the family situation. I have watched the videos regarding easy clean and LG claims small spots, light soil are easily cleaned after the easy clean cycle. I have run the easy clean three times today to clean light soil and it doesnt clean up with plenty of elbow grease. Ugh. I should also mention my husband has had to take the glass out of the door twice to clean soil or grease. We are retired so its not that we are always cooking.

I agree with the reviewer who wrote that they are scamming you for money. Our fridge broke twice due to the compressor. The first time we paid for repairs $350 in labor. The second time, the repair people said to call LG to get labor covered. I called. First guy took information and said he would call back in an hour after talking to the supervisor. No call 3 hours later so I called again. This person gave me a completely different story and had me do completely different steps including sending in a picture of my receipt of purchase. I did and she said someone would contact me 3-5 business days later. 10 business days later I call to find out the claim had been rejected but theyd be happy to send someone out to fix it with us having to pay for both the compressor and the labor. I told them no thanks. We would be buying a new fridge that was NOT LG.

I bought this 2 years ago and had problems from the first load. The bottom slide out rack CONSTANTLY goes off track and can take 5-6 times to get it back on. Not an easy task when you are bent over and it is full. Dishes are always spotty, have tried every cycle and lots of different detergents and rinses. Everything is spotty and has a slippery feel to it. I end up using the rinse cycle only after doing a load and then they dont dry. More times than not I just hand wash the dishes. QUICKER, MUCH MORE ENERGY EFFICIENT AND DONE RIGHT. DO NOT BUY THIS CRAP.
