One never-ending nightmare! I ordered an LG Dishwasher (LDF5545BD) from Homedepot.com on Jan 15th, 2021. As I write this today (February 19th, 2021), I still do not have a working dishwasher after spending nearly $900! The 1st dishwasher arrived on Jan 21st, 2021 but I quickly realized the unit wouldn’t dry the dishes (even with the Extra Dry setting). An appliance associate at my local Home Depot in Austell, GA, Mr. Scott ** was very helpful in helping me contact LG to report the problem. LG decided to replace the unit which was delivered on February 7th, 2021. The installers told me they could not install it fully because it is connected electrically and they’re not supposed to deal with wires without some other attachment. Why was I not told about that beforehand or from the previous installers? Anyway, this second unit did not dry my dishes either. Called support and they told me to use Rinse Aid. I did not feel like I should have to now not only buy dishwasher detergent but also Rinse Aid. So I initially refused to add a rinse budget to my expensive non-working dishwasher purchase. A repair technician was sent out from National Platinum Service in Columbus Georgia. That technician came 13 minutes early, rang my bell, and left 12 minutes before my service window time. They sent another technician the next day who also told me I should add Rinse Aid. After doing very little to check the unit he asked me to sign and he left. I gave in and bought some Rinse Aid and then ran my dishwasher again and then again using the Rinse Aid and varying settings (like High Temp, Extra Dry, etc). No luck – dishes, racks, and inside the unit is soaking wet! LG will have you being transferred to several people who either can’t see the details of my problem or will keep you on hold so long that when someone does speak with you there is a 4-second audio delay added to uncompassionate customer service. LG says they won’t replace it with a different model or refund me so I’m stuck with an $800 paperweight. I cannot reach Mr. Scott at Home Depot and LG won’t budge (because they really, really must need my $800). They want to send another repairman as if I broke it. This is terrible!

We purchased this refrigerator less than 3 years ago at our local Home Depot store. We decided to upgrade our kitchen and splurge a little on a reputable, high end brand fridge - LG. After 6 months of owning this fridge, we have had nothing but issues. We have had it repaired at least 6 times. The main issues being: (1) it not staying cool/cold, making it inoperable and spoiling all of our food contents; (2) water leakage; and (3) ice not working. The first item has been the most common, the most frustrating and the most costly to us. We just recently went food shopping and the very next day, our fridge decided to stop being cold. All food is spoiling again. You could imagine the money that is lost and the predicament it puts our family of six children in. We are not picky people. If its a simple fix, we would gladly take care of it ourselves as to not burden anyone else. The repair service keeps fixing the same things and replacing similar/same parts. I must say I would not recommend an LG product to anyone and I would never purchase an LG ever again. They are pieces of junk, in our opinion. Another complaint about how cheaply made these things are, the side shelves and the middle sliding shelves keep falling off as they are poorly made and poorly designed. A total piece of junk. Very disappointed in this product. Very deceiving as it looks great sitting there in the store all nice and shiny, but internally its crap. To be perfectly honest, next time were just going to go with an inexpensive brand and if we get 3 years out of it before it breaks down, great, then well toss it. But I wont feel so bad because I wont be splurging money like I did on an overpriced piece of junk like LG.

This is the second time that I am writing about my LG convection range. I bought the extended warranty after the controller board failed twice within a year of purchase. Good thing, the same part failed this June--that is three times within 19 months. What a piece of junk. I have never tried the self-cleaning feature because I am afraid of what might happen. Dont buy this product!

I purchased LG washer and dryer, the best in STEAM technology and thought I did a good deal. While we dont know yet if the washer and dryer perform well or not, we were shocked the first time we used the washer today to hear a lot of banging. We discovered the water tap was not open. Then when the washing was ready, it was wrinkled so we suspected the rinsing was done with warm water!! And that was true; the techs from SEARS installed the hoses wrongly. I give the SEARS install team 2 stars, thats it.Then, I called LG Customer support to complain about SEARS and they basically dont care. During the call, I discovered that the one who answered, with very lousy English, was a total ignorant and didnt know anything about a thing. It took many minutes of waiting time to get answer on what are the benefits of registering a product on the LG website, compared to not registering it..

Bought LG washer and dryer just over 6 years ago. Had no problems till today when the dryer started to thump. I am a retired millwright-machinist and have repaired washers and dryers as part of my job for years in a large hospital. I took the dryer apart to discover the drum was cracked on the welded seam. My extended warranty ran out in March. Called the Warranty Department at LG and was told they never heard of such a thing and could not help me (I did tell them that there were hundreds of similar complaints on the internet). Called the local service company and was told a service call would be about $300 plus parts. They couldnt understand I already had it apart.I called another company and was told that I could buy a new drum for $133.58 but the drum was back east and it would take several weeks to have it shipped here, so I will weld the drum for now and order it at a later date. Not happy. The washer has performed O.K. but has a funky smell if you keep the door shut. We wash and dry about 4 loads per week so its not abused. Will not buy another LG.

The first time we had a problem with things in the freezer not staying frozen, the fan in the back of the freezer had to be replaced. Cheap little fan motor for such a big unit. Now we are having the compressor replaced, everything melted in the freezer and the refrigerator section was up to 50 degrees where it should be 33 degrees. The unit is a French Door unit and we purchased it May of 2013. I feel it should have lasted much longer than it did. It seems to me they dont make any thing to last these days, and the price is out of sight.

WM4270H and DLEX4070. Cleaner clothes than the horrible Maytag Neptune/dryer is done before next load in washer. Units are 4 years old. Very quiet operation. Wanted a dryer with a steam fresh option which this LG does have. Washer does not wear out clothes as previous Maytag unit. Regular repairs and quality of construction, very important to me. Unit still looks brand new after 4 years of use and not the first problem with units. I had nice shirts that were stained with grease. Previous unit did not remove those stains so used shirts for the lawn. Used the sanitary cycle on the LG washer with no change in detergents and stains were removed. I am assuming this is due to the LG heating up the water that dissolve the grease.

Purchased model #LFX25991ST January 2012. Within weeks the technician was out to fix the icemaker. He returned at least 2 times within the first year for the same problem. Within the first few months, the lettering on the face of the water dispenser had started to fade. By the end of the second year one of the plastic drawer covers had broken off (minimal use. No children in house.). Technician was back out the third year for icemaker. By February 2016 the fridge began making loud noises with on and off warm water, but was very minimum. With all the money already spent (did not purchase extended warranty as we had NEVER had problems with refrigerators in the past - other brand names), we had no energy left for this fridge. Then a couple days ago, no surprise, the entire thing quit with a loud bang. So heres the kicker. I called various service people on Monday. No one could come until Friday. Called LG and got hung up on once. Called back and after hold time, finally got to speak with someone who barely spoke English and was obviously reading from a script. He tried to troubleshoot with us over the phone then agreed that the fridge was dead. He provided 3 companies that they contract with to come out and look as the sealed system is under warranty for 7 years, some parts 10.So I proceeded to call these companies. One said he does not work on refrigerators, another said he will not touch this model number, and another kept hanging up on me. So I called another person I had initially spoken with. He still couldnt come out until Friday, but since the parts are under warranty, I would have to pay for labor which would be upwards of $400. And the best part of all is LGs policy as he explained - After the problem is diagnosed, I would have to call LG and get an authorization number, they would have to mail this to me for confirmation, then the parts would have to be ordered, then I would have to get on the schedule to have the repairs made. I am therefore without a fridge for close to a month. Debating to chuck it or go back to Whirlpool or KitchenAid. NEVER AGAIN will LG enter this house!

My LG french door refrigerator is six years old. Six months after I purchased it the little spring on the French doors broke I had to buy a new on eBay. A little after the warranty went out the ice maker broke. I paid for a whole new one it wasnt long after that the ice maker broke again so I just left it and started making ice with trays. Now it has stopped cooling and freezing. Now what LG? Youre taking peoples hard earned money thinking they are getting something trustworthy! I have an old Maytag in my garage. Its 30 years old never stopped not once.

I recently purchased all new LG appliances in the new black stainless. Love the door in door fridge, enjoy the stove/oven and microwave, but the dishwasher is impossible. The rack design for glasses will not hold any size glass. Glasses continually fall and turn over during cleaning. Often the very top new utensil basket gets caught on the glasses and the racks will not close without being pushed aggressively. The bottom rack has collapsible sections that fall down without force and plates become scattered and stuck together during the clean cycle. The overall cleaning, look and quietness of the dishwasher is good. BUT you will become easily frustrated with the basket configuration. Wish I could return this impossible appliance!!!

Lg top load model # WT1101CW - I have had this washer for 1 1/2 years. It takes all day to do a load of clothes. Every time you call for repair they just want to replace electronic board. That does nothing. Right now it is 6pm and I have been doing the same load of clothes since 7am. Constantly says uneven load, constantly refills and adds time when it says 13 minutes. I go back in about 15 minutes later it is filling up with water and now has more minutes. Just random amounts of time. Filling, draining, filling, draining, never spinning. It is so frustrating to try to get laundry done. There is a small 15 yr old Maytag in my basement that works better. Do not buy this washer. It is a top loader with no agitator. I Hate it!!!!!

I bought the LG Model DLEX3370W in May 2019. Exactly 2 years later the dryer died. The circuit board died and it will not power on. I went to a local repair/refurbished shop and asked them if it was possible to repair the dryer. They told me it would cost the same amount to repair the dryer as replacing it. The dryer works very well when it has power but after about a year we noticed it would intermittently not power on. In most cases we would unplug it and plug it back in and it worked. This last time it is completely dead.

Actually my rating is a zero. LG front loader washing machine that we have is not only a complete waste of money but a health hazard. Why the health department isnt involved in this matter is truly shocking to me. Both my Fiancee and myself have experienced general malaise (headaches, body aches, nausea, dizziness) which we now believe is due to the mold build up in this machine and thus ending up in our clothes despite double washing the clothes to get the smell out.The constant nightmare in dealing with mold buildup in the machine has truly been astounding. We have tried everything from leveling the machine since water never gets fully drained, to scrubbing the front flap , to draining water and cleaning reservoir and bleach cycle--nothing works. This is the first and last LG product we ever buy. They put this thing on the market knowing full well of the problems with it. Personally, I am looking around to see if theres a class action lawsuit. In the meantime, we are going old school and buying a cheap top loader. Weve used top loaders for 30 years and never had a problems with them. Even our kids agree that this machine is crap.

I purchased a $1,200, top of the line LG, in September of 2009. November of 2011 the machine came up with an error code of 1E, which the manual states a water inlet valve. So the part was replaced. Guess what? That wasnt the issue, so I contacted LG, and they had me go over some troubleshooting over the phone with no luck. So they gave me appliance repair centers that only deal with LG. To make a long story short, after having 2 parts swapped out - one was for $91.00, the inlet valve was $54.00 and another $91.00 yet to be paid to the appliance repair guy. Oh and I forgot about the computer board (which only has a 5 year warranty) was replaced - I have a $1,200.00 dishwasher that does not work!LG called me to say that they will prorate it by giving me $676.00. After all that was put into it, that comes to $440.00 and I have to send mine back. Hmm. I told LG that this is unacceptable. Her answer, Well sir, its a man made product, so I laughed in which I replied, So if I purchase anything from LG and it craps out after 3 years, I am supposed to just accept that Oh well! Its man made? My fellow consumers out there, beware. Life is not good with LG.

WT5001CW - We are still having significant problems with our LG washer. The latest issue involves the troubled spin cycle particularly when washing items in the Towel Setting. While trying to wash just 3 bath towels along with several smaller items, our washer will become unbalanced during the spin cycle subsequently causing our machine to stop operating! After having to stop, adjust, and rearrange items, the machine will resume the spin cycle only to have the washer once again cease normal operation requiring me to repeat the process of pulling out these wet items. As I indicated previously, I believe this chronic balance problem is due to a defective LG software issue rendering our washer unsuitable for the ordinary purpose for which it was sold to us. This LG washer is defective. We cannot operate the washer for which it was intended.

LMXS28626S.ASTCNA0/French Door. I bought it for the good looks, but there are a few annoying and serious design deficiencies in the refrigerator, as follows: 1. The ice maker storage is in the door, which causes the ice inside to clump together and stop making ice if the door is opened for a couple of minutes while cleaning the inside. The storage has to be cleaned out, and sometimes reset, in order to work again. 2. The water dispensing spout is far from the pressing mechanism, and water splashes outside the glass if it is small. I have never experienced this before in any of my previous refrigerators3. The French doors do not stay in place when opened - the left tends to shut, while the right tends to open all the way.

LFX25991ST/05 LG French door counter depth refrigerator - I actually love/hate this refrigerator. It has worked well. I love the ice and water dispenser, however, it appears to be caving in. There is a long crack at the top running into the inside of the dispenser. When the water dispenser is pressed it moves the entire wall inside the dispenser. The frame of the entire dispenser is actually crumbling piece by piece. We have no recollection of ever dropping anything or anything falling on the door dispenser. We have no warranty left on it as it is now almost 3 years old. So we are faced with the repair. Frankly neither of would have the strength to push so hard the plastic would crack. I own an LG stove, microwave, washer and dryer. I am not unhappy with any of these - performance wise.

My husband bought me a pair of LG appliances for Christmas of 2014. In March of 2015, we had an issue with the fridge. It took 2 weeks to resolve. In April of 2015, same issue....freezer frosting up, then stopped cooling. It was a compressor problem..shocking. June of 2019 freezer stopped working, next day fridge part quit. 2 days to get a tech (who was wonderful). Tried to say it is a sulfur problem in the water (our water is filtered), then the compressor and now its also the motherboard...all at one time. Trying to get a unit replacement because obviously, the refrigerator is a lemon. I uploaded all the receipts and supporting documents and now I have to wait until JULY 8th!!!! to get this fixed. I am under warranty for at least 6 more years. At this point Id like to be refunded for this obviously defective appliance.

I bought a LG refrigerator. Now 5 years old. It quit working. Started by calling the 800 number for LG repair. That was on July 27th 2020. Getting a call center out of the United States. They were very nice for the most part. A little hard to understand. I started getting texts with repair service would be in touch. I would wait and not hear anything. Call again. Again promise I would hear from them. This has gone on mind you since July, 27th 2020. Not getting anything done. I paid $100 for a service call. Was told there is a leak in the Freon line and maybe a fan problem. So again I call the 800 number. Was told I would get a email to send the proof of purchase. What they know I have it. I got all the information ready. As of today Oct. 28th of Oct nothing has happened. Thank You for letting me vent.

I chose based on appearance and most importantly, price/Efficiency. My choice was based of entirely what I saw in the store and reviews written online. It kept my food cold, it worked, thats all I can ask of a fridge. But make them better at removing moisture or more energy efficient. We bought this LG refrigerator Jan 21, 2012. It is the biggest waste of a thousand dollars we have ever spent. Last Labor Day it stopped cooling. Had to wait a week for a repairman. One took pity on me and told me over the phone to remove the back and dry out with a blow dryer. It worked. So now this Labor Day it wouldnt cool again. And guess what, had to wait another week. We decided not to melt the ice since we had a warranty. The repairman came, took the back off and fiddled around, said it was good and left. The fridge, still four hours later wont go below 40. We called the repairman. He said it is ok to put some food in. So we did, really fast. Now it is 50 degrees. Clearly we will be going back to coolers and five bags of ice a day again. We are so fed up. PLEASE dont buy LG. Not only does it not work well, but it dents if you look at it, and the little humidity control on the veggie bins snapped off the first three days. Just hate it. But it was the largest fridge that would fit through our small doors. So we had to buy it. PLEASE PLEASE dont make the same mistake. Now cancelling cats surgeries to buy another fridge soon. Sigh.. Anyone know a brand that works?

Had to buy a new dryer when our old ones cord was incompatible in our new home, decided on the Gas Dryer Model DLGX3571W. Soon after purchase, started making high-pitched whining noise. Also started shrinking a lot of our clothes. Had 3 service calls with seller (ABT, who is awesome), then 2 with LG. First LG tech told me the problem was a missing outside vent. Brought in a handyman - the vent is right there, working fine (i.e., LG tech flat-out lied to me). Second tech couldnt find an issue either, thought the noise was an installation issue.Called LG, they told me that (1) they cant find a problem, (2) its operating as designed, (3) if they bring someone else out who still cant find the problem, theyll charge me, (4) they wont replace it because they dont know whats wrong with it. I asked if their dryers are designed to shrink clothes. Response: We couldnt find a problem. I pointed out that even if they cant find it, shrinking my clothes is a problem. Response: Its operating as designed. I said that my previous LG dryer didnt shrink my clothes, but this LG dryer does that when I use the exact same settings I used before. Response: We couldnt located a problem.

It uses such little water I cant see how clothes could possibly be clean. We bought this at a Sears Outlet store. The washer and dryer were returned by a customer and we know now why. These were issues with the washer right from the start, but its just getting worse (and more and more frustrating). I wish wed bought a cheap top load washer. It takes forever to do a load of laundry and while it uses less water, it takes twice as much electricity. I thought it only fair to alert you to our dissatisfaction before we start to share with others. We had only heard good things about LG, but we will never buy another LG product, and we will urge anyone that will listen not to either.

I have an LG refrigerator with model # LRSC26923SW that is about 5 years old. The so-called purified water line dispenses water that tastes strongly of mold. It is undrinkable and it assumed a health hazard. The filters have been changed on a regular basis and the water line has been used daily until the taste problem occurred.I have tried changing filters and flushing the line but to no avail. LG referred me to an authorized repair service, and I was told that it was a poorly designed system, and I would need to replace the entire door at a huge expense that is not covered by the warranty. In addition to the ice maker going out after 1 year and having to be replaced, I also had major problems with my LG washing machine. I will never buy one of their appliances again.

Purchased a new LG dishwasher on 12/17/20. Model #LDT5678SS. Delivered on 12/20/20. Used MAYBE a dozen times & now there is rust in the bottom of the tub & on the door. Since it is now past 30 days Lowes will not fix/replace it so we reached out to LG since there is a 1 year warranty. The tech they sent out said he owned the same model & kept his outside & his didnt do that. Then he went out to his truck, made a phone call, came back in & told us to call Customer Service & left. We called customer service who informed us the tech said it was improper use on our part. We only used Cascade & water. I dont understand how this is improper use!We also purchased the 5 year extended warranty from Lowes, but because it is still under manufacture warranty, they cannot help either. They also stated that rust on the tub & door is considered cosmetic & would not be covered. Even though in the back of the LG book, that came with the dishwasher, it states there is a lifetime warranty on the tub & 1 year warranty on the parts/labor.So now we are stuck with a brand new rusting dishwasher that sticks like rust inside & Im sure will only get worse with time but thats considered cosmetic. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER LG PRODUCT AGAIN. Its sad because we used to love LG. Own several LG TVs & also just purchased a LG Microwave which Im going to return before the 30 days. We were also looking at purchasing the matching stove & refrigerator but that is definitely out of the question now!! Between the Dishwasher, connectors & warranty we paid over $1,000 & now were stuck with it!

We have a four-year-old LG Dishwasher (LDF6920ST) that caught fire at 2 am in the morning a few weeks ago. Thankfully, our oldest son was awake and heard a loud popping noise that caused him to investigate and we were able to turn the unit off before it burned down our kitchen. The repairman who looked at the unit found that the main circuit board in the door caught fire. It is important to note that the motor has burned in the unit as well. A member of the LG executive team that works on these problems told me that fires happen in all sorts of LG appliances and that they repair the unit! We are completely afraid of this product, based on the many other examples of fires we have read about and we want a refund. Dont buy LG.

LG stainless steel fridge extremely discolored. Warranty representative said cosmetic issues are only covered for seven days. When I asked her to show me where this was in warranty she referred to a section regarding damage during delivery. I explained that it was fine when it was delivered and that the discoloration came over time. She kept referring to the same clause about delivery damage and then 30 minutes into the phone call said warranty doesn’t cover it because it must be a maintenance issue. She had not asked me one question regarding how I had cleaned or maintained the refrigerator. And refused to send a technician out to inspect it.

I have spent over 5 hours on the phone with LG so called customer service and parts orders which only exists in the Philippines... I Requested a US number or contact and there is not one. My problem is SIMPLE. I in need of a compressor and drier both under a 10 year manufacturer warranty that they just dont feel like ordering. Followed their instructions and had them send out a tech, take 99.00 from me for a covered part (for diagnosis) and now they say their Computer doesnt show the diagnoses or the technician notes. Talk about FRAUD!!! They sent the technician to my house! Even the technician was trying to say if he ordered the part(s) covered, we would have to pay him 400.00 or we could call LG ourselves for free! Have called over 10 times at this point only to purposely be disconnected after hours on the phone with them! This is ridiculous and illegal! Dont buy ANY LG PRODUCTS, they are liars and cheaters and try to extort $$$ from you!We are almost at 1 month of trying to get 2 parts ordered and still nothing! We had to buy a refrigerator in the meantime out of the paper. We have 2 boys with medical needs and refrigerated meds and they could Care less! Our refrigerator is 1.5 years old! So BRAND NEW & basically a LEMON! Dont buy LG & if you do, your problem will Never be solved in the US!!!

I phoned 3 days ago to LG to get a technician to come look at my 7 month old washing machine which suddenly has started tripping the electricity in the whole house, while in the middle of a cycle. It is currently full of water and not useable. I was told yesterday that someone would come today. I waited until noon so I rang and they transferred me through to the technician who was the rudest man I have ever in my life spoken to. And he informed me that no one was coming today and that they were booked until the middle of next week.I stated that was not good service and he told me to phone LG. So I said you are a very rude man, can I talk to the manager, I wish to lodge a formal complaint, to which he put me on hold for 10 mins and then came back and said he does not want to talk to you, but we can come on Monday (5 days time as opposed to 7). This is the worst service ever! I took today off work with no pay to sit and wait for a service technician who was never coming and to be honest I am worried what sort of person I am allowing into my home considering how rude he spoke to me!

After only 5 years the compressor on my LG French door refrigerator has failed (LFC25776). Although the cost of a replacement compressor is covered under warranty we will have to pay for the labor and the service technician informed us that the replacement compressor will only be covered for 90 days. We have lost all the food in the refrigerator. We just purchased another 100 pounds of ice for the cooler. I had designed my kitchen around this new refrigerator and purchased all new LG appliances. After reading the complaints about LG I have decided to buy a new refrigerator NOT A LG. I hope an LG representative reads these complaints and reaches out to consumers -- the product looks great -- unfortunately does not last.

Purchased product for new home in early 2015. Two and a half years later, (before the fourth of July holiday), it died. Stopped cooling. Waited for several days, since repairman came to our area once a week. But that was just the service call. After close to $1,000.00 in labor, service call and tax, one week later the repairs were made. Refrigerator worked until lo and behold two years later almost to the day, the same issues occurred. JUNE 13, 2019 to be exact. This was a Wednesday and of course the day service is available in our area is Tuesday, we waited a week for the service call and a second week for repair. Compressor and several other parts replaced again. As the repairman was getting ready to leave, the fridge DIED. He stated he knew something was really wrong with our unit and claimed it unrepairable.Enter LG. No you need to replace the heat exchanger. It is now over two weeks since this repair and still no fix for refrigerator and it is Wednesday so you can bet no resolution until AT LEAST next Tuesday if at all. Mind you we are under warranty for parts and labor which we should have been two years ago also. We will never and will advertise to all the new builds on our community website to stay away from LG Refrigerators. Spent over 2 hours on the phone with LG service and no help whatsoever. So bottom line --- Dont go the LG route. Buy American.

Like many reviewers before me, my 2.5 year old LG fridge stopped cooling yesterday. I called LG and spoke to CS who instructed me to change the temperature settings from Celsius to Fahrenheit and wait 2 hours, then call back if the fridge isnt cooling. I asked what changing the settings had to do with diagnosing my fridge, and the rep kept instructing me how to change the setting. After much persistence, I finally got the rep to tell me about the Smart ThinQ app ( to diagnose the problem). We downloaded the app, tried the program... only for the answer of the fridge door has been open longer than normal over the last 24 hours... yes of course! Everything is melting, I was transferring my food to coolers! I called again and asked to be transferred to Tech Support... I was put on hold to nowhere. I called a third time and spoke to another rep who found some equipment on the floor that could diagnose the problem. While the fridge did make a tune that the CS rep listened to, the final answer lead to sending out a technician. Now we were faced with: do we pay $299 for a One Rate fix, which guarantees a complete fix for the one rate, or do we pay $80 for a house call and then a variably increasing rate depending on the complexity of the fix. To pay anything for fixing a compressor that has a 10 year warranty is absurd! The fridge is going to the dump today, and my 20 year old KitchenAid which we replaced with the LG is coming back up from the basement! NEVER AGAIN will I purchase ANY LG product! If you havent bought an LG fridge yet, DONT!

Have only had the fridge for just over 5 years, and already the compressor has failed. Came home to water all over the floor. All the food in the freezer had to be tossed. Tried calling LGs 800 number, and I got Craige, their automated whatever you want to call it. When go through his questions, you get disconnected. Tried calling 4 times to actually speak to someone, and every time got Craige. I guess LGs great Linear Compressor has a 10 year warranty, but Im looking at over $500 to have it put in as only the part will be covered. I wish I had read reviews about this horrible compressor when I was purchasing this fridge, as I would never have bought it. But Im like so many others and will have to get it fixed since it cost so much money only 5 years ago. Just sad LG cant make a reliable product. What makes me mad is they know about their failing compressors and arent doing anything about it with their so called valued customers.

Our LG fridge LFX28968SW was already in our house when we moved in Apr 2017
Our LG fridge LFX28968SW was already in our house when we moved in Apr 2017. However, the label is stamped with manufactured 2013 so it cant be more than 4 years old. This model lists for $2,400 ++. It is a beautiful appliance, but beauty is only skin deep here. The fridge stopped cooling and freezing in Aug 2017; thats way too soon for a durable goods product. ALL of my previous fridges (Amanda, Frigidaire, Kitchen Aid) lasted over 10 years without issue when I left them for the next homeowner. The one homeowner says Frigidaire is still running without issue and its over 17 years. Anyway, I called LG customer service and we ran the SMART Diagnosis process but the rep said it didnt reveal any errors; I guess it isnt so smart after all. We did get the unit to display a error code 22, which according to the LG website, indicates a compressor relay failure. Its a small, easily accessible, inexpensive part ($12 for similar parts on Amazon) but LG customer service refused to provide me with a parts list and service manual and said that only LG certified techs can repair it. Since the remaining LG warranty only covers parts, Im guessing at least $200-$350 labor costs based on posts for similar repairs. So, after 3 days of waiting on the LG recommended techs to make an appointment, I contacted a repairman recommended by 2-10 Home Warranty. They came next day and replaced the relay but it still isnt working; so much for the reliability of the error codes. He said a fuse on the control board blew and since the fuse is soldered in, the whole board needs replaced. (PS I have the fridge on a surge protector). I asked him candidly if this was an ongoing problem, his response was he does several per month but unfortunately cant keep the boards in stock so its at least another week to get the replacement part. So after two weeks, Im still living out of coolers and my daughters dorm room fridge.Luckily we had the 2-10 Home Warranty that came with the purchase of our home. Otherwise, the cost would be significantly higher. So Im looking at a $100 deductible, plus cost of food spoilage, plus cost of ice for coolers. In addition to the cost, its a huge inconvenience to constantly manage the issue (phone calls, service appointments, waiting on parts, swapping ice, etc) all this to fix a supposed top of the line fridge. Its not right to have a durable goods product fail after 4 years, and based on my experience with customer service, and based on parts availability, and based on responsiveness of the LG techs, and based the blogs, I wont buy any LG product no matter what it is. The internet mentions a class action suit brewing, I will surely sign on when I get the right contact.

I’ve known about LG Refrigerators for a long time and I liked its design. I was so excited to find it. I have a bottom freezer refrigerator and I like the adjustable shelf although I wish there are more shelves that are more adjustable. Also, I can have shelves on either side of the refrigerator at different heights. I wanted a single-door refrigerator and its a double-door but it’s alright. It looks nice and it’s fine. However, I’m not happy that my freezer keeps frosting up. It took five or six calls to get someone to come out and look at the freezer when it was frosting up. So, it took several weeks. If I was working, I probably wouldn’t have been able to stay on top of that and now, I have the problem again. I bought another refrigerator because mine was frosting so much and I couldn’t keep anything in there frozen. Now, I’m getting a space problem. I’ve had it a few months. We have taken the machine out and put back in, made sure it was level and it still did not work. We now have an immaculate dishwasher that does not work. We purchased our LG machine from Home Depot online, September 2013. Although I do not like how the machine operates (cannot fill) (never enough water) (takes forever to wash a load), it stopped emptying April 26, 2015. We called for service which was to take place on April 29. It was determined the machine needed a new pump. It was ordered that day and was to be in in 3-5 business days. After waiting 10 days, we called Diamond Warranty service. We were told the part was ordered and there was nothing else they could do about it. We then called Home Depot and when they checked, they found the part had been backordered and then reordered and again should be in in 3-5 business days. It finally came in May 15. We set up the repair for May 19. I took off work because my husband was in court all day. At 7:30 on the 19th, they called and said the repairman was ill and rescheduled to Thursday, May 21. On May 21, they called and said the person would be out the rest of the week and could reschedule next week after Monday. I have now been without a washer for 25 days. Home Depot said they can do nothing but file a report against Diamond warranty and it will take one to two business days for a supervisor to respond. When I called LG they said they were very sorry and could only do the same. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, they asked me to stay on the line. I held for 13 minutes and then hung up. Obviously neither LG nor Home Depot care. I want out of the extended warranty and they can take the washer and shove it because neither are any good. I have been to the laundromat 4-5 times and spent 11 to 15 dollars each time and still have no washer. I will never buy anything from LG or Home Depot again. Even if they do come out next Wednesday, it will have been 31 days without a washing machine. This is ridiculous!

Do yourself a favor and stay far away from LG products. I purchased an LG Dryer and have had nothing but problems with the lint catcher/ filter ruining my clothes. The lint catcher does not sit flush and it will shred clothing when clothing gets caught on it during the drying cycle. As the dryer spins, the clothing catches on the filter and continues to twist creating a clothing tornado that tears and shreds clothing with the continuous spinning of the dryer.I have contacted LG on this and despite having a warranty and in addition, an extended warranty, LG states that they dont cover this issue and that I have to pay out of my own pocket for their design defects??? LG also told me that this was the first they heard of such a problem with their dryers and that I was the first person to contact them?? This is clearly a design defect that LG IS Aware of and has been for years - yet they do nothing and do not fix the problem or stand by their customer by their replacing the defective part. This is planned obsolescence. LG is making billions of of customers like us yet they do not stand by their customers or deal with known product defects. We have most of the same issues as everyone else: Tromm LG washer and dryer. Washer model WM2277HW and dryer model DLG5988W. The washer smells like mold and always has. Slimy, moldy gasket, towels and bathroom rugs come out smelling like a barn, especially the washcloths. Soap dispenser does not drain properly; dryer does not dry. We have had multiple service calls and nothing gets more than a temporary fix or they declare they cant find anything wrong. These units were supposed to be the best and we have been putting up with them far too long.

LG French Door Refrigerator/Freezer- This is the absolute worst appliance I
LG French Door Refrigerator/Freezer- This is the absolute worst appliance Ive ever owned, and Ive owned a bunch. 1st year of ownership computer board failed. Over next 8 years 3 fans went bad - out of warranty of course. Plastic door edge strips both had to be replaced - 5-7 yrs as the doors wouldnt close completely. Ice-maker was a real piece of junk - always jammed up and never produced a decent quantity of ice. Finally compressor went completely at year 12. Average life of unit is rated at 13 years - almost made it! Also learned that few techs will work on LG or Samsung because these units are not designed to produce error codes for diagnosis of problems. Also keep in mind, LG was formerly Goldstar, a very poor quality South Korean electronics company that was rebranded to LG because of their terrible quality and reputation. Run away quickly - you have been warned.

LG Refrigerator LFX31925ST/00 - Well 4 years after the first time the cooling fan went out of service, it decided to quit again. Again another 7-10 days waiting on the part! The repairman told me this part is so high in demand they cannot keep them stocked. I guess you need a spare refrigerator for all your food when you own an LG? Somewhere to keep it cold so it does not spoil. The cost of food replacement is not cheap. This being the second time we decided to buy a new one other than LG!

We purchased an LG LDF8072ST PREMIUM dishwasher from Best Buy on Dec. 12, 2012. Since it has been installed, the performance of this product has been terrible. The drying cycle is terrible and when I contacted LG, I was informed that this was the way it was supposed to work because it is a new advanced HYBRID drying system?? Even when we put it on extra dry, it still did not dry the dishes. With the performance still terrible, 4 weeks ago, the dishwasher quit working completely. When I contacted the LG online chat service feature, it was a joke. I spent more time verifying that I had bought a dishwasher than anything else. He finally determined that my dishwasher was Shot and he ordered a technician to come out. 10 tens later, a technician from a local repair facility came out, and he verified my dishwasher was not working??? He brought no replacement parts, but verified the unit had crapped out.Two weeks later, he returned with a main board and got the dishwasher running. He tested a few cycles and declared it ready to go. I was out of town and my wife was leaving that afternoon, so she loaded up the dishwasher and started it before she left. When I got home three days later and opened the dishwasher, the dishes were still wet????? This is the first dishwasher that I have owned that drying dishes as part of the cycle is part of the dishwasher!I have gone on LGs website and written to them and have not heard back! For what they charge for their products, I would expect a better support/service system in place. Dealing with LG is as bad as dealing with Sears in the past. If this is not resolved, I will do my research and make sure my replacement dishwasher dries dishes and is not an LG.

We bought an LG Refrigerator back in 2013 and had problems with it closing properly, since day one. Over time my produce would not stay as fresh, so about a month ago we had it professionally moved to our garage for a backup fridge (to keep drinks cold). Due to it being a much warmer setting it caused my unit to have to work in overdrive to keep it cool. In return causing it to overheat and it stopped cooling the fridge and freezer causing everything in the freezer to spoil. I paid $90 for a technician to come out and he diagnosed it with a bad sealed system (which let me had that the sealed system was a terrible concept). LG said they will warranty the part but I am responsible for the $1,000 labor :( I will never again purchase an LG product for the reason. Poorly made and do not back up their poorly made products!!!

We bought an LG LFX31925ST French Door refrigerator in January 2012. It has operated flawlessly. Both my wife and I have frequently commented on what a great purchase this was. We recently observed a periodic error message indicating that a freezer fan was failing. Since I dont expect anything mechanical to run forever, I was happy that the product pointed me to the likely problem with an error message. I was impressed that I was easily able to download owner and repair manuals online, and that part diagrams and the parts themselves were readily available from numerous sources. We ordered the needed part and removing the freezer drawer and replacing the back wall with new sensor and fans was a $100 repair that took 45 minutes at most.We have owned refrigerators in the past that required a new ice maker every year. Our LG ice maker is now more than 5 years old and with daily use still works perfectly. Im sold on LG products. I dont have the receipt anymore, but these are the registration details: Model Number: LFX31925ST. Serial Number: 106KREL0F452. Purchase Date: 01/12/2012.

Let me start by saying I will never buy another LG product and will warn others to stay away from this manufacturer. I purchased a French Door Refrigerator Model LFX25978 and after approximately 3 years the compressor failed. Although the refrigerator was under a one year warranty, the compressor had a ten year warranty which is one of the reasons I decided to purchase it so I had a glimmer of hope that this repair would be covered by LG. NOT EVEN CLOSE. After very frustrating discussions with customer service I was told that I would have to have an authorized service center diagnose the problem at a cost of approximately $175 and upon their verification, they would send a compressor directly to my home free of charge but I would have to pay for the repair. My total cost was around $800. When all was said and done. HERE IS THE REAL KICKER. Fast forward just short of another 3 years to now and the compressor failed for the second time. Obviously there is a problem with this part that the company is unwilling to address. When I called to see if the company would make some type of accommodation, I was treated very unprofessionally and they would not offer the slightest relief. NEVER AGAIN. POOR QUALITY COUPLED WITH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A VERY BAD COMBINATION.

After posting my review, LG scheduled a service call for today (Monday). The technician called under the impression and according to the service call that the refrigerator was not cooling. I advised him that the refrigerator was running perfectly but no one had picked up the faulty door yet. He wound up picking up the door and hauling it away. I am very thankful that he did so, because I know he wasnt required to. All in all, the technician went above and beyond to do that, but I feel like it was only because I was the squeaky wheel. The issue is now resolved, but I still stand firm to my review. I will not purchase an LG product again.

The experience with this washer in particular but also the dryer is among the worst We have made. Now that my four children have moved out I figured I would be doing less washing and drying. I’ve owned this product for two years. I’ve already spent close to $200 having somebody replace a drum. The washer in particular does not drain properly and I have to physically open the tube and sit there with a bowl draining water sometimes 5 to 7 times or the clothes will be soaked smelly and filled with filthy water along with the bottom of the washer. Sometimes water leaks out of the bottom. I couldn’t even begin to go through the litany of the defects. Glad I’m selling my house soon and will be sure to leave this here. Never will I buy another product from this company again. I can’t remember the last time I had to submit a review so negative.

I have had the LG HE machine for approximately 2 years. When I first got it, I called LG because the machine wasnt getting all of my clothes wet and certainly not clean. They smelled dirty when they came out. The repairman said that the machine was working properly and proceeded to completely fill the tub to prove it to me. I have since found that the only way to get a full tub of water to cover my large loads is to run the washer on Bulky Bedding with Heavy Soil Level. (Nice trick for the repairman to use). How much longer will LG (I dont know about other so called HE makers) be allowed to dupe the public into buying these machines? I bought it to save energy and water. I care about our overuse of the earths resources in fact I am one of those who still hangs clothes outside on my clothes line. As soon as we can save enough money, we will dump this machine.

Bought a beautiful $3k LG armoire fridge in Jan 16, worked great until it stopped in Sept 20. Compressor replaced, worked a week or so, failed again. LG contracts with A&E, they came back, said a clog & fixed. Worked a couple days, failed. A&E came again, ordered ANOTHER compressor and other parts, fixed again. Worked 1 day, started temp fluctuating, then quit after a couple days.In the meantime, my numerous angry calls to LG resulted in promises of a new fridge after 3rd repair, reimbursement of food lost & mini fridge I had to buy. None of that has happened yet. Dont forget, every time I call to say it failed, its another week or 2 until A&E can come back out. The waiting game is the most fun part. A&E back out today, this time says coolant leaked out, so since he could replace it LG wont honor the new fridge promise. So now I have to wait to see if it fails, I wont put anything in it just to lose it again. Oh, thats something else, when you lose all your food, and have to buy a mini fridge, you dont get reimbursed for both things, you have to choose one. Since I dont keep every receipt for every food purchase, I couldnt claim that, so Im trying for the mini but not holding my breath. To anyone reading, keep EVERY receipt, repair document, phone log, email, text. You may need them. Recording the conversations isnt a bad idea either, so you have proof of the gaslighting you will get. Ive no doubt this beautiful $3 thousand dollar kitchen paperweight fridge will fail again soon. I will never buy anything else from this company. And LG, dont ask me to private message you as you have with the others. Im not going to. Youll be hearing from me soon enough.

Purchased this washer in March of 2011. At first this washer worked great. Then it started to vibrate a lot more than it used to early on, then it started to tell me loads were constantly UE or uneven, then it started giving an IE code. It wasnt until the IE code that we called Sears... 2 months after our expensive $170 3 year warranty. They told us the part and we ordered it... wrong part. Finally got the right part and replaced it. The machine worked ok but we still had excessive vibrations and then it started stopping on 17 minutes. Wouldnt get past that time. Now, it is stopping at 45 minutes... and it took 3 hours to get to that point. My husband called Sears after finding out our machine is recalled and they claim that our machine doesnt count. He called a different Sears number and they said to call LG because its an LG machine. He calls LG and LG says that they no longer have a relationship with Sears and we need to talk to them. We then talk to Sears and the rep says our machine is definitely recalled but we need to call the recall line (which was the 1st call that had been made). He gives us the number to the escalation department and the rep claims she cant find our account. Then she says she needs a few minutes to research it and the call is disconnected. What are we supposed to do now? There really is a recall on this machine and I think it shook so bad over time that something was damaged in the unit. Sears wont help. LG wont help. Who can help? We are just out the 800 we paid? It is just my husband and I so it isnt like this machine was even used that much. No one will help us. What do we do now?

I bought an LG dishwasher based on the positive reviews, however, 18 months in, it quit and the faulty part is not covered under any warranty. So my $700 dishwasher (got it on sale so that was good) is now a $1200 dishwasher. Its large and cool, but in my opinion not worth $1200. LG knows this part fails, the repair tech showed us how the panel fails due to the heat and moisture that gets in it, and the replacement part has an epoxy coating that keeps it from doing that. But instead of recalling and replacing the part they KNOW will fail, they make you get the repair BY A LICENSED LG REPAIR PERSON ONLY, and pay for it. Pretty shoddy workmanship and poor customer service. We will NEVER buy ANY LG product again.

LFX319255T/03 - We read reviews and paid $2500.00 for this LG which is 2 1/2 years old at this point. Within the 1st year the entire electronic panel died and had to be replaced. This was handled under warranty but of course this means losing everything in my refrigerator/freezer twice before it was fixed as well as living without a refrigerator for several days while waiting for service. Then it developed mildew and another service call was necessary. Now it had stopped working again and they are telling us they have no approved service providers in our area to fix it (Cumberland County, NJ). LG had a lawsuit regarding these refrigerators and reimbursed customers for some of their lost food but having new, expensive refrigerator that breaks down every six months seems outrageous! I have a $2500.00 useless refrigerator sitting in my kitchen. LG says we should hear back from them within three days if they can find someone to repair it or we can find someone and give them the name!!! We called three local companies who will not touch repairs that are under warranty. I would avoid this refrigerator unless you like cleaning it out yearly and have checked to make sure you have service providers in this area.Updated on 12/16/2015: We spoke with 17 LG representatives including their Executive Department and 9 appliance service centers. There were originally no service providers in our area and no reputable companies accepted payment directly from LG or wanted to work with them. Long story short, we had to file a small claim action in order to get this resolved but now we are accepting a LG replacement refrigerator which also has reviews of disrepair. I am hoping we have better luck with this product but I would not recommend purchasing any LG product at this point. They were a nightmare to deal with and provide very poor customer service. Since we will need to sign an agreement not to discuss this refrigerator and our experience in order to get a replacement, I wanted to post my experiences prior to agreeing to this settlement. I hope this will help others avoid the same mess.

LRG 3081ST gas stove - My first problem was that Best Buy never warned me that to convert this stove to propane was going to cost close to $300.00. The next problem was as soon as I started to use the product, the fan in the convection oven does not work most of the time, the controls are very difficult to use and very confusing, one of the burners does not work! After contacting Best Buy they told me I had to call LG, which I did. After many tries and disconnected calls I finally reached a person and he reluctantly set up an appointment with a local repair shop, and although she agreed the fan should work better but after calling LG they said it was normal and there was nothing she could do. I have owned an LG refrigerator with a bottom freezer for the past eight years. Besides the beautiful design of my refrigerator, I don’t have many good things to say about LG as a company. As a matter of fact, as a free trade supporter, I would limit access of this company into the US market because it does not uphold US product and service standards. The internal organs my refrigerator, made out of plastic, began breaking in the first two years. Two years ago when my refrigerator stopped cooling just before a big holiday for each I had to cook for and store food, it took LG four days to send appropriate serviceman to take care of the problem. The first repairman did not even have the appropriate equipment to fix the refrigerator and passed the buck on to someone else. When I called LG again and insisted on an LG certified repairman they had sent one. At that point I was out of warranty my refrigerator needed a new compressor which was installed two years ago in 2016, and for which I paid full price out of my own pocket. Recently I’ve had a problem where my freezer is not working but the refrigerator is still cooling. When the question of replacing the two-year-old compressor with a new one came up, LG stated that it’s company‘s policy is that if a compressor has been replaced and the refrigerator is out of warranty, the standard manufacturer warranty for compressors which is typically for most appliances 5 to 10 years does not hold water any longer. When you call for service you have to threaten and move up the ladder to speak to a few supervisors before you can get an adequate service. I will never own any LG product again and I would gladly share this recommendation warmly with any person I know. Who needs you LG? Go back home and stay there!!!

LG has proven they cannot be trusted for service and I dont want to spend next 5 years with this cutting edge technology or the horrible service. Looking for someone higher who can make my Life Good as since I have bought LG my Life is Not good without a working washer. 12 days ago David a manager had promised he will personally make sure he calls me today. That didnt happen either. Please understand its not easy to be without a washer for a family with 4 kids.Original review: Bought LG Duet Steam True Balance Model WM3900HBA in December 2019. Was delivered and installed in my home in January 2020. From the beginning continued to give D1, D2 and other errors and within two months completely died of DE error on March 10, 2020. I had bought extra warranty and service from Best Buy but was told to contact LG since first year of service they provide.LG service is horrible. First ticket created with them, was on April 11 2020 they set up a repair appointment, no one showed up. I called back the lady said just wait and expect a call. Waited three weeks and called again several times on the 7th, ladies would not understand English, On April 8th finally got a hold of a rep, asked to be escalated to to a manager which was the infamous Louis. I asked him I need a return voucher. He said they require 3 weeks of suffering before they would return.Created a new ticket and asked me to wait 5 days. On the fifth day no call from LG. Called on Friday they said their 5 days will be on Tuesday (in 11 days). Today, the 11th day, 5/19/2020 called again and first lady hung up on me as I asked for a manager and didnt want to repeat what I have repeated 50 times. Second time got to a manager called David. He told me today to again wait. LG policy is that without any help for 3 weeks they would return. I keep on asking for a return voucher as suggested by Best Buy and LG won’t respond.
