Our Model LFD25860TT has a manufacturing flaw where original foil bonded to insulating foam, between coil and freezer-area, flakes off and clogs evaporator drain. It then builds-up overflow water/ice in base and leaking onto floor. (Check online issues.) Had repairman out once, but finally mitigated myself by cleaning-out the flakes and substituting heavy Reynolds foil facing.

Worst washer I have ever had. Does not wash dried food etc off clothes. I think it dont give enough water to wash properly. I always do extra rinse cycle because I dont like the thought of wearing detergent in my clothes. If I could afford to get rid of this piece of ** I would. But right now Im stuck with it. If I could give this washer a no star I would because it is worthless.

I call LG Appliance because my dryer would not stop tumbling when I opened the door, my dryer is under 2 years old. I knew what was wrong with the dryer but I wasnt sure who I should call to repair, so I called the mfg, LG Appliance. They told me they would dispatch a repairman and the fee for service was $125. The repairman showed up, replaced the $16 part and then billed me additional labor of $65.00. I called LG to ask why I paid their fee and a service fee and they continued to say that the fee was dispatch, until I asked exactly what dispatch meant - setting up the appointment. Well, I could have done that myself. The customer service rep at LG was pretty cagey in his setting up this appointment, never clarifying that I would pay all the labor fee. My understanding was the service visit would be free.

It took almost a month to finally get LG to respond. First call they needed proof of purchase sent to them (strange, since they already knew my model and date of purchase while on the phone!!). They said once received, a manager would review to determine if they would extend the warranty, which would allow for the top to be replaced. No call back. Called again a week later--same story, but never a call back. Called again a week later, and demanded to get this resolved. After waiting for 40 minutes on hold, it was denied. I said that was not acceptable as this is common complaint about this washer, etc. I demanded to talk to a supervisor. After about another 20-25 minutes, a supervisor approved the warranty extension, and scheduled a service call to replace the top. A new top is being shipped in time for the service call. Hopefully the replacement top has been redesigned around the bleach cup!!To those of you who said they denied your claim, do not give up! Demand to talk to a higher up person! I also told them I would be going to Home Depot to complain and every time I was there I would drop a picture of the rusted washer into every LG washer on display!

So no big surprise based upon the various reviews concerning LG refrigerator performance. Yes our LG refrigerator stopped working so we called a local repairmen who diagnosis the issue as a compressor failure (which seems to be a common problem), but due to the labor cost and after considerable effort we got LG to send their own technician to come out on their cost to fix the problem. The technician was great and after repairing the compressor and the evaporator (also faulty) we thought all was good. Unfortunately the fridge still didnt work so he returned and after numerous hours and effort he informed us that oil had entered into the lines and there was nothing else to do but submit a request to LG for a reimbursement. We are currently waiting and cannot get any info concerning our status and whether we should keep the fridge to return and that reimbursement process may take up to 4 to 6 weeks for a prorated reimbursement amount. So we have already have waited six weeks without a fridge and will potentially need to wait another six weeks before we have closure and honestly Im not too optimistic based upon the length of time and the ambiguity that each person gives us on the phone. Although each customer service rep is nice it is unfortunate that LG does not give the autonomy to make a decision even when their own repairmen have given forth their assessment. I realize that products fail but when there is an obvious trend LG should be fast recognize and not strong their patrons along. Its just bad business.

Bought a kitchen suite of LG Black stainless appliances in July 2016. Within 2 weeks the gas stove top started to get rust pitting, we called LG, nothing they could do for cosmeticproblems. Strike One. Within one month the icemaker in the door of our refrigerator began building up ice and freezing up. We went online and were advised to check the seal and change the filter. We did, We defrosted it every week for months because water drops would form on the top of the freezer drawer and eventually drip on our brand new oak floors. Not to mention we couldnt open the door to retrieve ice. Strike Two. Well at just over a year the water dispenser decided to turn itself on and flood our kitchen, basement and ruin our floors. A call to LG yielded nothing but a recommendation for a repairman. He showed up, said it needed to be reset. He did that and said it was fixed. Before he could put his tools away and give us the bill the water dispenser again turned itself back on. He had me turn the water supply to it off, said he was going to get some parts and never came back. No bill, no word.... Gone. Well for the last 2 years we make ice with a counter top ice maker. Strike Three. Recently the black Stainless has started to peel ojf the refrigerator. It is literally black saran wrap. We have used nothing but water and a paper towel to clean it for fear of ruining the finish. Anyone else seeing a trend here. We are 2 middle aged adults, no kids around, no pets, who treat our belongings carefully. I couldnt imagine what these appliances would look like in a busy household with kids and pets. LG, worst decision we ever made. Stay away at all costs. Customer service is non existent and products are poorly made. DO NOT BUY.

I bought my LG Refrigerator LFX28968ST March 2015 and after 3 years my compressor breaks. A repairman came to my house and charged me $450 in labor to install the new part. LG covered the part but I had to pay the labor. I wasn’t very happy about the situation but I had no other options but to pay. The repair man installed the new compressor and the refrigerator seemed to be cooling. The next day the refrigerator stopped cooling again. I called the repair man and he came back out to my house worked on the refrigerator for about 1 hour 1/2 and told me everything was working properly. The next day refrigerator stopped cooling again. I called the repairman. He came back out to my house for the third time and spent another hour 1 1/2 working on the refrigerator supposedly fixed it. The next day still not cooling. Called the repairman and he told me he was going to refund me all my money and I needed to buy new refrigerator because it is a lemon. I spent $2800 on this refrigerator and it cannot be fixed. I will never buy any LG products again.

I have a warranty and it took 3 days for a repair service to come out and tell me he doesnt know how long it will take to order the part and be back to repair it. Meanwhile I have no refrigerator and all my food spoiled. LG service reps have NO CLUE what they are talking you through on the phone and no help in regards to being reimbursed for loss of food! In OTHER WORDS DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS because their customer service and repair turn around time SUCKS!!!

My husband and I purchased an LG appliance package in April 2016 after I did careful research on the products that were available at the time. We got a fridge, microwave and gas range. The first problem that we had was our fridge. The compressor went out about three years in which LG fixed. Next up, about a year ago, our ice maker just stopped working. Around that same time, I heard a very loud pop in our microwave and that stopped working.I had a tech come out to take a look and it was the entire control panel which was nearly the same amount the microwave cost in order to fix it which we ended doing. I didnt want to get another brand because this microwave has a special vent that goes above my range. The tech also looked at the refrigerator ice maker and mentioned that we may need to replace the door which is a common problem apparently. Unfortunately that is too pricey for the time being so now I have no icemaker.Until yesterday, Ive been happy with my LG Gas Range... I started getting an F9 error which means the oven isnt heating correctly. Tonight I was making dinner and the oven turned on as usual and said it was preheated. I started cooking and opened the oven to check my food. Low and behold, the oven is barely hot. I check the oven temp and its 205 even though the temp says 400. Sounds like another problem that is going to cost me hundreds of dollars to repair. Ive only had this appliance package for 5 years. It is so disappointing to have a problem with everything Ive purchased from LG. Ive been making sure to tell all of my friends and family to avoid LG because of all the problems Ive had. The only appliance I have in my kitchen that hasnt had any issues is my dishwasher but thats a Bosch. Im glad I didnt get one from LG. Although the LG appliance look beautiful, please avoid them because right now Im trying to plan meals without the use of my oven until I can get it fixed. What a disappointment.

Buyer Beware: We purchased an LG over the stove 2.0 Microwave middle of Nov
Buyer Beware: We purchased an LG over the stove 2.0 Microwave middle of Nov 2019. After installation I turned the surface light of the microwave on. When I went back to put a dish in the microwave I found it to be extremely hot inside. We had not used the microwave nor the stove below to generate such heat. We turned off the surface light & checked the interior of the microwave it had cooled down. We then put a thermometer inside the microwave & turned the surface light back on to check if the light itself created the heat. In less than 1/2 hr the interior of the microwave heated to 117 F degrees. When we turned off the light the microwave was cool. We then called LG to alert them to our experience. The rep first hinted that it could be an electrical problem with our home. I explained our kitchen had been recently updated including all the electrical which was inspected by our local county inspector. They then sent a service tech out to examine the microwave. LG technical support told the service tech not to touch the microwave. They issued us a Claim number & an internal Bulletin about the problem. The tech told us we had to replace the light bulb ourselves despite it being new & under warranty. My husband is an electrician as well his friend who is a master electrician. They both researched the model. LG changed from the earlier model a 30 WATT incandescent light bulb to a 50 WATT Halogen light bulb in the same lighting compartment & model. The hole for the 30 WATT incandescent light bulb is still in the compartment & next to it is the newly added 50 WATT Halogen light bulb. IT sits just below the microwave box with absolutely NO VENTILATION. We were advised to notify our States Attorneys Office as well the BBB. We alerted the store we purchased it from to check the models they have on the floor & beware of the problem. Had we just turned on the surface light & left our home I cant imagine the outcome. If youre seeking to purchase a new LG microwave first check what type of surface light bulb the microwave is equipped with before you purchase it. LG obviously has no solution or will back their warranty on a less than one month old microwave.

Both my son and I bought LG washers. Bearings out on mine and cost to repair was equal to buying new washer. He had the extended warranty. Called the help line. Someone just kept repeating with a foreign accent, Only the drum (stainless will be around forever) and the motor are covered. My model had mold and mildew problems from the beginning. Now we both have nice dryers and will have mismatched washers. Beware! Bearings are not covered and you will have a flood, no washer, mismatched appliances, ruined flooring. Of course our State is not in the class action against LG. Guess where we would like to stick the stainless drum!

Out of warranty, 3 year old top of the line all stainless unit (3.7 cu. ft. capacity), now water temperature goes up to 98 F at most during all wash cycles. A Sears’ contract proved no better. The Sears tech put in a new heater unit, it made no difference. Even though the water is tepid at best, the worker from Sears says it is working fine and he sees nothing wrong with the machine until a month ago. I got nice hot water when I washed my clothes. Now, I have to settle for tepid water or cold.

LG WM2301HW Washing Machine has been nothing but problems. I started a load and smelled something burning. I found the washing machine not working ... its burning from within, black burning internally - arched inside on the wires - caught fire. LG does not want to recognize that there is a problem... This is a huge legality and liability for LG. No machine should catch on fire... LG needs to make it right. Could this model be a recall? I found a lot of bad reviews on this model.

Right after 1 year warranty, my washer which is upstairs flooded my downstairs. Often people think it is a bad hose. Brand new house and everything. The rear tub assembly was at fault. Just a faulty machine, lucky us. They had me running circles to try to pay a claim. Finally I just paid out of pocket to fix downstairs ceiling, electrical etc. The washer continued to be a problem, rusting on the side near the top and we would see some water running down the side. Repairman said he sees this all the time. Water will spray out the seam near the top. NEXT, Dryer runs when door is shut continuously. Just spoke to a woman who lost her whole house to fire with same problem. Going to buy simple Maytag now.

This was the number one rated range on several different websites so I thought Id found a winner. Ive had nothing but problems since the day this was delivered and the worst part is that LG has the WORST customer service department I have ever had to deal with. A recent chat representative even wrote that she will go one step a time for me reading from the manual. I have a masters degree in nursing, I can read directions! The stove comes set up for natural gas and it took 2 technicians almost 2 hours to get this set up and installed. Cost me an additional $320 and yes, these were experienced technicians from a reputable company, but very little is known about this model. First issue was that the ultraheat burner would not ignite and had a flare up issue when it did. I had to get approval from LG for a service call and again, even the company of their choice knew very little about this stove. He had to call LG for help from there who talked him through the repair. The upper oven was burning just about everything I tried to bake so I asked him to check that. The oven was set at 350 and his professional digital external thermometer was reading 425 degrees AFTER the preheat cycle and took forever to come anywhere near 350 degrees. The instructions tell you how to adjust the oven temps, but the (+) does not appear on the digital display, as stated in the manual, so you have no idea if the adjustments your making are even effective! After burning lots and lots of food, I finally got the oven to semi work. I put a high quality thermometer in the oven and it was all over the place 300-425 degrees during the baking cycle. Now lets talk about the lower oven. From day one there was a terrible odor which I was told was just from it being new. Again, it burned just about everything I put in so I started playing with the adjustment feature. It got to a point where some rolls were golden brown on top, but the bottoms were barely done, but at least they werent burnt! Not to mention that this thing sounds like you have a jet engine running in your kitchen! Now, heres the real kicker. This morning I opened the lower oven to move the rack and the entire inside was black, covered in soot (see photo of rag I used to wipe just the bottom). I tried to call LG but they refused to let me speak to the technical department to see if this was normal for a new oven or if I needed yet another service call. I was told this department only speaks to other technicians. I called Lowes and this piece of junk will be on its way back to the store later this week. Thank heaven I purchased it from Lowes, at least someone stands behind the products they sell.

I purchased an LG WT5001CW top-load washer in March 2011. It now overfills the tub and will not agitate. It will spin out if you put on the spin cycle. It is one of the models with the smart diagnostics,” in which supposedly you can call LG and hold the phone near the machine and they can diagnose the problem with the machine. I called LG’s number for the smart diagnostics service and was asked what error code was displayed. When I told them that no codes were shown, they said they could not run the smart diagnostics program. Apparently, this feature is another of LGs false advertising ploys. They then gave me the name of the repair service in my city. I called this company and was told that they do not service any LG products. I have a relative who has operated an appliance repair business for over 30 years and he told me he will not touch LG products. I have not been happy with the machine since it was new. It runs the motor more than 50% longer than the old non-energy efficient machine it replaced. It may save a little water as at times the clothes have dry spots where they were never in the water. However, water is cheap in my city, but electricity is not cheap. So this machine overall costs more to run than the old machine. I sure wish I had found this site before purchasing this product. I will not buy LG again, that is for certain.

Bought the washer all expecting a long lasting machine - 3 years into the proud ownership - the rear tub bearings went bad, I called over 25 people who work on washers. Found 4 that worked on LG, the bearing in the rear of the tub is worn out - don’t sound too bad, can’t get the parts - can’t get the tub rear assy either. So here I sit with a washer ornament in my basement out $2200 in the washer with the stands and no parts are available! This is a ripoff! The company should be made to repair these washers for this money. This is serious funds out. Not to mention the repair to this is $390 for the rear tub assy and the labor of $400. I purchased 4 LG appliances with a home remodeling project. We moved into our house in late April. Last week, we cooked a pizza in the top oven. As with pizza sometimes, the cheese melted over the edge of the pizza stone onto the bottom of the oven. No biggie - it has a self-clean feature. When the pizza was done, I immediately set it to self-clean since it was already heated. It took 3 hours and heated my house to 80 degrees (note to self, do not self-clean an oven when its 95 degrees outside). The next morning I opened the oven to put my racks back in and to my surprise, all the self-cleaning feature had done was to BAKE the melted cheese even harder onto the surface. I had to take out (unscrew) the bottom tray and clean it with oven cleaner and 409. Its still not perfect. Very disappointed.

We purchased an LG French door fridge, stove and microwave in April 2016, by August 2016 the fridge no longer worked. We have been living out of coolers constantly having to buy ice for the past month. Spending lots of money eating out because I cant go grocery shopping. 2 techs have been out for repair, but have yet to fix the compressor which they both say is out. It is now September 2016 and I still have no working fridge. We paid $2583.50 for a fridge that lasted 4 months. After reading other peoples experiences here I now know that I have wasted a big amount of my money as I have had the same experience with Lg customer service. Long waits on the phone, no type of care or concern about having a customer fridge less for a month now, even after I told them we have a son whos medication must be refrigerated. No compensation offered whatsoever. None given when requested either. Their customer service line is horrible. They do not care about their customers at all.I have never reviewed any product because I have never had the need to do so. Everything always works just as promised. We had our previous fridge 12 years without a single repair made to it (kenmore) only replaced to this LG because kitchen was remodeled and wanted a new look. BIG MISTAKE - we made with our choice. I contacted a number of appliance retailers and told my story and their reply was, This is why we dont even carry LG. Their appliances are pretty but thats about all. Their appliance performance and dependability does not measure up in essence. Buyer beware with LG manufacturers!!

We purchased a LG refrigerator less than 4 years ago. In the first 18 months the compressor went and they gave us a really hard time about get service because the warranty was up and the compressor has a 10 year warranty they have lousy customer service and do not care about the customer. On 12/20/2020 after being away we come home to again the second compressor gone bad. They are coming out to fix it no problem because they were sued in a class action lawsuit over their compressors but it doesnt help when you have to throw hundreds of dollars worth of food out again because a product is made so poorly. We have decided to buy another refrigerator because we dont feel comfortable relying on this lg piece of garbage. The right thing to do would be to refund us for the refrigerator and replace the hundreds of dollars worth of food we have had to trash no once but twice. I do not recommend their products to anyone.

Bad Service - 38 months old French Door with dual ice makers and the in door ice maker fails. It makes ice but cannot seem to get them to fall when it turns to empty without getting stuck and making a clicking noise. I called LG and they connected me to an LG authorized service center 70 miles away. The service center called the day they were to arrive and asked me how I was going to pay. I asked for an estimate and was informed that ice makers cannot be repaired as LG does not fix ice makers but only replaces them for a cost of $500. The reason that was provided is they are made in Korea. What a bunch of BS from the authorized service center. I just canceled the order for all LG products on the new home going up. I would not take the chance with their product again.

Ordered an LG fridge in December because its the only one that will fit in the space I have. Suppose to be delivered on Jan 19, 2019... The night before I got a call saying it wont be delivered because they dont have it. After many calls and the runaround I found out it was a system error and I will get my new fridge in a week. Still no fridge and still getting the runaround from customer service saying I shouldnt be calling them, Home Depot should... This is the worst company to deal with and I would love to return this fridge before it ever gets here. If it ever does! I am running a family of four and working full time with a beer fridge lent to me by Home Depot! Totally ridiculous, and very unacceptable. They are offering no compensation for my time or inconvenience of not having a fridge I ordered and paid for already!!!

I purchased an LG refrigerator from Costco... Its a piece of junk and failed after 1 1/2 years. Costcos web page claims if you buy a major appliance from them it will have a two year warranty. However, neither LG or Costco and their claimed concierge service are truthful. Its just not the case. I have been trying to get this resolved for two weeks. My family has no refrigerator... thus no cold food. It was planned for the rest of my family to come for Christmas. Now that is not going to happen as I have no way to preserve food and prepare it. Costco and LG have ruined the Christmas for my family. Never buy an LG appliance as they do not support it. Dont believe Costco...their two year plan and concierge service is a joke. I literally have been on hold with both of these companies for at a minimum of six hours and gotten nowhere. This is the worst product support I have ever had in my life...and I am no spring chicken.

I thought LG was a good brand name so when we were looking for refrigerators, I was drawn to the style of the French door fridge and we chose it. I wish Id looked at this site first! Exactly three years to the day after purchasing it, it shut down. My freezer was packed and everything had to be thrown out! The fridge stayed cool long enough to salvage some of the contents. Ok, so sometimes products fail, right? Their customer service is THE WORST. They could not be less helpful if they set out to do it! I called the first time and was told by a sugary sweet computer voice that they were too busy and she hung up on me!The next day when I called back I was told by the same computer that my wait would be 7 minutes. The next time my wait time was announced it was 8 minutes. Wait, what? When I finally got to speak to someone, he treated me like an idiot suggesting I didnt have it set on the right temps or didnt close the freezer door correctly. He was infuriating because he knew nothing and was operating from a script that meant he wasnt even thinking. It would have been nice if somewhere they said gee, thats awful. Were sorry. We hope to make it up to you. A friend who works in the electronics field said LG is notorious for not backing up their product. Im going to say this. I wish Id listened to my husband and selected the Samsung fridge!!! Ill never buy another LG appliance again.

I bought my brand new LG fridge in 2008 because it had a lot of room inside. After a couple of months, Ive been having problems since; there were issues after issues. First, it was the ice maker that I needed fixed then it was the fuse. After that, it was the French doors that rubbed against each other so I couldnt close it. Then it was the side vent inside the fridge. Now, its my compressor thats not working; that’s what the service guy told me yesterday. Its on but it’s just blowing hot air inside the fridge and freezer. An LG fridge is not cheap to buy, but it is cheaply made! This LG fridge has caused me so much down time and headache from the day I bought it!

I have a glass top double oven range. I had issue almost from the very beginning. First off the knobs turn too freely and have started a couple small fires due to this. Just having my dog walk by and bump a knob with his tail turns the burners on. The biggest issue Im now facing is that my right hand burners will not turn on unless the left hand burners are also on and even then they only produce high heat. I tried to get my issues addressed while the appliance was still under warranty but LG is horrible to deal with. They requested a copy of my receipt which I provided but unfortunately they dont have people smart enough their to read the receipt where my range is clearly listed. I have given up dealing with them and will end up just replacing this hunk of junk and will never buy another LG and recommend everyone else avoids them too!

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do not buy an LG washer and dryer! I purchased a high end type LG washer and dryer in Nov. 2013 and have had to have both of them repaired at least two to three times in the first year. At least during the 1 year warranty, LG did pay for the repair costs, however now that this warranty is over, I guess I am looking at spending $300.00 or more per year in repair costs to keep the units operating. LG Customer Service states that they will not extend the 1 year warranty or replace either of units. Buyers should consider other manufactures such as Kenmore, Westinghouse, etc. My past experience with Kenmore has been very good, and I am now sorry we did not buy Kenmore units. The dryer model number is: DLEX5170W and the washer is: WT5070CW.

It doesnt use enough water to even cover the clothes. For more water, you have to set it on Extra Load, and then it takes 3 hours to wash! The programs for selection are awful and limited. For this machine to cost so much, I thought it would be top notch. WRONG. My next machine will be a trusted GE. I had a GE washer for over 10 years that washed clothes very well. I purchased an LG kitchen suite from Costco because of the ratings and reputation of both companies. After less than 2 years we started having issues with the food not being cold. We ran all diagnostics and it said nothing was wrong. Now, a little over 3 years later, the freezer and fridge do not work. The repairman gave us a quote that was higher than the price of a new fridge, which I can’t afford. I just don’t understand how the compressor died so quickly. And according to the repairman, the unit will never be the same even after repairing this part. With all the issues with COVID-19, the loss of all the food is difficult since it’s hit or miss if I’ll be able to get the stuff I need for my family of 6. What am I supposed to do now?!?!

I will never...I repeat, NEVER buy any LG appliance again. The top-loading HE washer I bought 2 years ago (Model WT4870C) has been nothing but a disappointment. To call it a piece of junk would be an insult to junk. And LG customer service is terrible! Dont think you will get any sympathy or help from the company. Theyve got your money, and thats all they care about. Apparently, quality means nothing to them. First of all, the area around the bleach dispenser rusted. Do you want rust on your clothes? Me either. Thats why I called customer service. Instead of agreement that rust in a washing machine is not acceptable, I was told, If liquid gets on the metal, it can rust. Really? Then why does it say to put liquid bleach there (in the dispenser!) if no liquid is supposed to touch it? And besides, in their opinion, the rust is a cosmetic issue. When I complained that rust can ruin clothes, they told me that I could send them my damaged clothes, and they would review them, and possibly issue some compensation FOR THE CLOTHES! Now, only 2 years into owning this washer, it breaks! I cannot use it at all! It was running when suddenly a terrible noise was heard coming from it (not the normal terrible noises it usually makes), and the tub could not stop. Natural frictional force caused it to finally come to a stop. But now it cannot spin at all. Even though the washer displays proudly on the front a 10-year warranty, that only covers the motor. And guess what: You have to pay for a technician to come out to determine whether it is the motor or not. So you are out a service charge no matter what! (Oh, and even if it is the motor, you still have to pay labor charges out of pocket.) (FYI: The photo attached shows the dispenser after I removed the plastic surround.)

Two days before thanksgiving 2019 our three year old LG fridge stopped cooling. Two weeks later when the tech shows up he informed us the compressor had failed. Two days before Christmas it stopped cooling again. Supposed to be fixed January 16. We are currently using an Igloo cooler. My old washing machine gave out and I invested in what I thought was going to be a good washer. I decided to splurge a bit in order to get a good washer. I purchased from a 3rd party (JCPenney) so it took 4 weeks plus an additional 2 weeks because it was on back order. So for 6 weeks I was going to the laundromat. I took the day off work to be available for delivery. The delivery guys dropped it off, hooked it up and checked it and it was working. I did my first load of laundry and it would not complete a load. It gave me an error message. All day long I tried different ways around it and nothing. My husband changed the water hoses since it said it was the water pressure and nothing. We called LG that evening and basically was told because it was the water pressure in our home that they would not send a repairman. Our house is very new and our old washer worked fine water pressure wise. We told them to just take it back then and they agreed.Very long story short they would tell us they would take it back and or send a repairman and nothing would happen. We would call back and same promises and nothing. JCPenney has called them various times to have them send someone to repair and they refuse. Now its 2 weeks out and we, JCPenney and even the delivery people have called various times to get it repaired or returned and they refuse. Its insane were having to go through this kind of trouble when its brand new out of the box and we bought warranties on it. Im extremely disappointed in the way LG is handling this situation and I will never buy another LG appliance in my life nor will I recommend to anyone that they do either. They have lost a good customer because we are loyal to brands that are good to us. I wish they would just take this dang washer, refund us and we could just get a different brand. I purchased an LG washer 21/2 years ago from Home Depot and last weekend it failed during a load. I could not get my clothes out. The main PCB board failed. This washer was only used for a couple of loads a week. What really bothered me was the treatment I got from LG. We were looking around and doing some research a few years ago when we bought our first LG fridge. And in that process, we found that we liked the design and the products that they offered. But our most recent refrigerator has been nothing but a nightmare. It keeps failing constantly. And now, LG’s saying they won’t replace it unless I have the original receipt. So now, we’re stuck with a broken refrigerator till I can potentially find a way to get a receipt. I’m extremely likely to go to a different competitor after this experience. Purchased a LG electric range, dishwasher and refrigerator and microwave. My wife and I decided this would be a present for both of us for our 25th wedding anniversary. We decided to get the top of the line stove with the convection stove, black glass top self cleaning range. The oven was blue inside and all the appliances were stainless steel. Within a few months we used the self cleaning feature on the oven and afterwards, the stove digital display showed an error and nothing worked. We called and after a several weeks, we had a service person come and repair the oven. It seemed that an electrical component had burned out. We again after a month or so used the self clean feature and once again display showed an error and once again waited for a repair. The second repairman told it this the same electrical component had burned out. He informed us that it was an LG design flaw which vented the 500 plus degree cleaning temperature vented partially on the circuit board burning it out. He said to avoid this, to not use the self cleaning feature. So this top of the line self cleaning oven had to be hand scraped clean. We have now noticed that the outer door on the oven is starting to fall off. The inner door is in place and the only thing holding the outer door on right now is the handle. Why of course we are out of warranty and now do we pay outrageous service call fees and parts or let it fall the rest of the way apart and trash it? The refrigerator shelves are flimsy and several have cracks and it takes, if you dont use it, approximately 4 days for the ice bin to fill. Its too bad that you can spend a great deal of money on a product and have problems with it several months after making the purchase. My wife is a Real Estate Broker and will make sure no new or homeowners needing appliance to steer clear of LG products.

I sure wish I came here before purchasing my LG LFXS29626 refrigerator... As has been noted, a little over 2 years (gee, theres a 2 year warranty... hmmm), the fridge died. puddles on the floor, which I thought might be from the water filter, began forming... Before I realized it wasnt cooling, $500 worth of food had to be tossed into the trash... 1 week later, a service guy fixed it (replaced the compressor, added coolant)... it now rattles, and it isnt cooling... they are coming back again on Weds (5 days from now) to try to fix it again... I dont have much faith. One thing I will say... CALL LG. They covered the labor and the part, despite being past the 2 years. Dont let them tell you theyll cover the part but not the service, as this problem is PREVALENT, and they are (Im sure) just trying to avoid a class action lawsuit at this point.

Bought new fridge full of food. By next morning, error code back, fridge not working. Called LG repeatedly, no help. Finally reached the repair person who said he had ordered a part. That was over a week ago. Left him subsequent voicemails, no response. Have called LG repeatedly, finally demanding new fridge. They said no even though its under warranty and no new repair or repair date after 2-1/2 weeks with no fridge and much $ lost in two loads of spoiled food. I have never written a review but am so dissatisfied with my LG Direct Drive Dishwasher (paid over $800) - I felt compelled to warn others. I have hated it from day one mainly for the design of the racks. Although the tines look evenly aligned they do not hold my dishes upright causing them to fall over. I have rearranged them hoping to find better placement but to no avail. The glasses on top fall over as well causing a number of them to break since purchasing just over 2 months ago. And, if LG actually stood behind their product, I wouldnt be this angry. But they couldnt care less. After trying for 6 months to fix the washer using steps outlined by LG, the problem has only gotten worse. LG offered to send a repair service out to fix the washer for nearly $500, which is almost as much as the washer cost. When I mentioned that the problem seems widespread online and that LG was offering no-cost service calls to others experiencing the same problem (it appears to be a consistent and easy fix of replacing the board and stator), they refused to offer the same service and insisted the repair would include a hefty fee. Two techs found the compressor failed. While the part is covered, the $600-$800 in labor is not. After reading other nightmares, we opted to buy a new fridge (NOT an LG) and contact an attorney. I would not recommend LG refrigerators nor will I ever buy an LG product again.

My compressor went on my door-in-door LG. I been out of having a refrigerator for almost 2 weeks for a repairman to come from LG! I lost $500 worth of food, they have not done anything to help me out. Being left with no fridge going on 2 weeks with two 6yr old daughters living out of a cooler from a POS $1700 REFRIGERATOR. DO NOT BUY LG. DO NOT BUY LG. THEY DO NOT STAND BY ANYTHING THEY SAY. They change my repair time 5 times in 20mins from being 2 days out to being 2 weeks!!!!

We bought this unit in OCT 2017 since then it has failed twice and cost 198.00 in diagnostics and 1000.00 on lost food! In May of 2020 in the middle of the pandemic food shortage it quit cooling for four days, then magically started working again then in JAN 2021 it stopped cooling again and today Im told that it has a gas leak and that has leak are common on these LG units and to avoid all LG and Samsung refrigerators. Not at all what I was expecting from a very expensive fridge from a top name brand company. Never again. The was not my first but will be my last LG product unless they do something for me. Ill be contacting them tomorrow.

LG only allows LG-trained Technicians to repair LG appliances and when there is no LG-trained Tech in your area, youre out of luck even if the item is still under warranty. LG has the worst Customer Service Ive ever experienced... They just dont care. In our case, its a simple $30.- part for a range that I could install myself but after endless phone calls we got no help from LG. I have read through almost every comment on here and have to agree with how dissatisfied I am and what a disappointment these machines are. Class action suit please! I have the squeaky tub and mildew/musty smell I cant get rid of. Additionally, hot water is non-existent. It seems in my machine and I cant seem to select Sanitize no matter what I press. Oh, and bleach? I cant tell you how many loads of clothes have been ruined because the bleach does not fully wash out of the dispenser in one wash. It leaks into other loads afterwards.Seriously, a class-action suit needs to be started. How is it that a company / product has so many widespread complaints and concerns with mostly nothing being done about these problems and yet are still able to market their products without any consequences? Lastly, Sandy who has commented on this page is obviously affiliated with LG. I could go on and on with many valid points decimating her comments, but suffice it to say that a washing machine that you have to baby to keep running is a piece of garbage.

My 83 year old mother purchased an LG refrigerator about 2 years ago. She’s on a fixed income, so this was a significant purchase for her. I advised her to purchase the extended warranty for peace of mind in case something happened. What a joke. The refrigerator stopped cooling—freezer too. We called the repair number on her extended warranty & were told that the soonest they could get a repair technician out was over 9 days away. Well, not ideal, but we figured we could figure out how to make it work. The tech called to confirm the appointment & informed us he had ordered a new compressor to be shipped to her house because “they go out all the time.” Wow. That inspires confidence in the product. The repair day came and went without a tech showing up. When we called to inquire why the no-show & were rudely told that we were supposed to call when we received the parts. Well we saved the voicemail from the tech and there was NO mention of calling when the parts arrived. So they rescheduled the appointment, and again, the soonest available was a week away. The appointment was supposed to be from 1-5. We confirmed this for the 3 days leading up to the appointment. Yes, they assured us, the tech will be there between 1&5. Guess what? Again, no tech, it’s a Friday and the office closed at 5, so no help.Fed up, I called a local repair company. They were able to schedule an appointment for Monday morning. So I call LG to see if they will at least cover the labor for the repair. I’m told that because I didn’t use their “approved” vendor that they won’t cover the repair. Seriously? Clearly the LG refrigerators have a known issue with the compressor going out, but unless you use their “approved” vendor, you are out of luck. After over 7 hours of calls to LG customer service I was finally able to get ahold of the Executive team. Supposedly the approved vendor will be out tomorrow between 1&5. Yeah, heard that before. Fingers crossed they actually show up this time. One way or another, I will NEVER purchase an LG ANYTHING and I will advise EVERYONE I know to do the same. Worst customer service EVER.

We bought 5 LG appliances in April of 2010 and had them installed in August same year. So far we have had to have the wall oven repaired twice after only 3 years. After the first repair it broke down again within 7 months and we were told the warranty for the new part was only 6 months! Trying to get a second repair took over a month of angry phone calls just to try to get a LG certified repair shop to even book an appointment! When contacting customer service they will not let you speak with any sort of management/supervisory personnel and there is no way to receive an address for a letter of complaint. Our convection microwave also stopped working after less than 3 years and had to be replaced at the same time as the second oven repair. Should have been done with the first oven repair but could not get the part from LG in time and they were going to charge for another service call!Side by side double drawer bottom mount freezer refrigerator hasnt had the water dispenser work for a couple years. Their top of the line dishwasher has been having grinding sounds for over a year and this week is now on a continual run cycle no matter which cycle you request, just does not stop as well as having the loud grinding sound the whole time it runs whether 2 minutes or 20 hours! Just waiting for our induction cooktop to be the last of the appliances to quit, should be coming any time now! It astounds me that consumers can pay top dollar for products and get lower than average results with the products and customer service. Trying to speak to anyone within the customer service center is a lesson in how not to conduct business, and not being able to have a contact address or email or phone number for customer complaint is infuriating.

Overall this is a great washing machine and works as expected. I purchased this washer 12/16. The plastic housing has developed cracks on the inside where the wash drum is, more of a structural thing and not mechanical. Contacted LG and they stated only the Direct Drive Motor was under any warranty, 10 yr warranty. I explained that if the washer housing was falling apart around the drive motor what use would the motor be. They offered a one time warranty that would have to be reviewed by their underwriters. I received a call several days later stating it would not be replaced. Just want to let others know to look for these cracks/flaws after a few years of use. Weak plastic housing and poor quality control. I will not be replacing or purchasing any LG products in the future.

Contracted appliance company was never available to schedule repair service so I requested different company. I called customer service no less than 15 times and had the second appliance company have to come 3 times before resolving the door issue that took 15 minutes to install. Customer service is farmed out to India, and there is no connectivity or standard between departments. Current elapsed time of this issue is now 1 and 1/2 months. The LG refrigerator (LFXC24726S/02) stopped working on April 27, 2018. The refrigerator is still under warranty. I bought a kitchen suite of 4 appliances through Costco which included the refrigerator. LG did not want to honor the warranty at first. After several calls they sent a technician who determined it was a defective compressor. 2 weeks elapsed and neither LG nor I heard from him again. After several calls to LG a second technician came and also determined it was a defective compressor. He ordered the compressor. He finally came to our house but refused to install the compressor because LG had not paid him for previous service calls and demanded payment for his services upfront. He was rude and discourteous. He said LG failed to provide him with the info to process the repair. He did not want to talk to the LG customer service either. I was able to get him the info so he could proceed. He installed the compressor under duress. He left right away. The repair to the refrigerator failed.I had contacted Costco and Costco and LG have been going back and forth to make a final determination to provide a refund. There is still no determination. I have kept notes of the ineptitude of LG, its customer service, its repair services and its unwilling to fulfill the obligations of the warranty. I have spent countless hours trying to find a resolution. I have been without a refrigerator and have lost food to spoilage. I am not happy that Costco is also unable to leverage LG to address the issue. I am being neglected and not responded to because of LGs lack of care toward its customers. It is further distressing that a company can flat out not fulfill the warranty obligations of its products.

In November 2011, we purchased an LG Microwave (Model LMV1813SB). It lost power a month later and had to be serviced by LG. It went out again a week later. An LG service person came out and worked on it again, but due to the LG policy, would not replace it until after four service calls. We had the issue again in March and April and finally they are replacing it. My complaint is the extremely poor policy and customer service that LG has. They would rather have the customer go through the time and effort of not having a microwave, making numerous phone calls to LG and scheduling time to have the microwave fixed. This is such horrible customer service. The time and effort we have had to go through to replace the microwave is more than what the microwave is worth. Here is the icing on the cake. LG has shipped our new microwave but told us that the one year warranty does not include removal and installation. I had to argue to get them to reimburse me for this. I will never buy another LG product based on this horrible customer service experience!

My 6-year-old refrigerator quit completely (most likely compressor). I called LG as parts are still under warranty. They gave me 3 places to call to schedule a repair. Two places stated they no longer accepted any service calls on LG repairs and one said she was so far out of my area she didnt know why they gave me their number. I called LG back and was told to see if I could find somebody. I called several places and got the same thing so I called LG back again. I was then told I would be placed with scheduling and somebody would call me in 3 to 5 business days. I asked was their list different or more current and was told his list was fine. I asked him to go unplug his refrigerator for the next 10 days and throw away $300.00 worth of food. He said there was no reason for me to get smart. This is unbelievable. LG doesnt know which of their service providers still honor their calls??? I am now shopping for a refrigerator after 3 days of doing without and no resolution in sight and considering an attorney. I have read far too many horror stories.

LG LDG3036 ST Gas Range. I really like the double ovens and the design of this gas range, but I am completely dissatisfied with how the stove top burners work. The size of the flames around the burners vary considerably, so food will burn in one part of the pan and be barely simmering in another part, making it very, very difficult to cook food evenly. All 5 burners have the same problem. An LG technician came to fix it for the second time today with no improvement. I just got off the phone with customer services Executive Services and was told there was nothing more they could do, and that the stove was functioning according to the manufacturers standards and they will not replace or let me return it. So I paid $1300+ for a stove that doesnt cook any better than a primitive campfire. I have cooked on gas stoves for more than 30 years and have never had this problem. Cooks buy gas stoves so they have more heat control, not less. Id suggest LG needs to reconsider their manufacturing standards as their current one is unacceptable.

I purchased an LG electric oven about 2 months ago. Within the first 2 weeks of my purchase, the left front and back burners just stopped working. I called Home Depot, which gave me a number to contact for repair. I explained what happened and the first repair guy came with the stainless steel cover. After waiting all day, I told him that the cover was not the problem. He also agreed he needed the motherboard. So he rescheduled with me to come back. He returned and replaced the board after about a week. About 2 weeks later, the same two burners stopped working so we called back. Again, the repairman came to the house and brought another board and replaced it. This time it worked for 3 days and the same burners arent working again. I have called LG and complained each time. They tell me the same thing - that the tech has to determine that it is not fixable. I think this is absurd that you purchased a brand new product and are expected to keep getting it fixed. I purchased plenty of LG products and wanted to keep all the same brand, but you can be sure that I will never purchase an LG product again because they dont stand behind their product. I will be contacting Better Business and if I have to get a lawyer, I will do so. This is not acceptable and should not be tolerated by anyone. If something is faulty you, should get a new one immediately without question.

Bought an LG refrigerator for 4 years ago. 2 months ago our refrigerator and freezer stopped working. We lost everything in the fridge and freezer. As we no longer had a warranty on it we used our American Home Shield warranty. They sent a technician out to diagnose that it was the compressor. The repairman stated there was 10 year warranty on the compressors because of problems that LG has had. Because of that he couldnt fix our refrigerator LG did not contract with them for warranty work after waiting a week for him to get there. American Home Shield then sent out Sears not to fix the problem but to diagnose it again. That was the end of week two. We then had to wait another week for the compressor to come in and for Sears to come and fix it.3 weeks without a refrigerator or freezer. Living out of A cooler. The 1st technician told us, Dont be surprised if something else goes out because your compressor has made your refrigerator work too hard as it was dying. Sears tech however denied this statement and said no. Once we fix the compressor no problem. Well its now 2 months later my fridge and freezer do not work again. Lost everything again. Took a week for American Home Shield to have Sears come out again for a recall on their original work and he is determined it is the motherboard that is bad and he cant tell if the compressor is bad because the motherboard is not working so well have to wait until the motherboard comes and he fixes it and then we might have to wait again for a new compressor. Once we fix it no problem. BS.Not happy with this LG product. I got it because of all the problems I had with my Frigidaire. Is there not a refrigerator company out there that is selling quality products. So now that Ive lost two freezer full of food two refrigerators fulls of food and living out of a ice chest for now for weeks and more to go Im not a happy camper with LG. Not to mention we go thru bags of ice at $4 a bag and have to put new bag in every other day. So at 4 weeks so far with both repairs LG has cost me $56.00 in ice and we dont even have it fixed yet.

I think the LG refrigerator, and the brand is high quality, readily available and also presented value. I think the brand is close to whats considered as luxury at a price that doesnt represent luxury. I think its a great, everyday appliance for families and single people such as myself. Stays up to date. Id personally leave what I had as is. If Im the brand Id stay that way as well. If they want to be with Meile and Viking, maybe up the luxury and modernize the look ever so sightless and charge a higher price. For me, the brand is pretty much ideal. I chose LG because I thought it was a good choice to be in the middle of tiers that include Frigidaire and some and the top which includes Viking and a few. I think the brand presents excellent value, overall.

I bought my kitchen appliances less than 3 years ago, all LG brand, brand new from Home Depot. My dishwasher has given us some issues over the last year and come to find out the electronics are not covered under the 10 year warranty that is plastered on front of the appliance. No big deal, my husband was able to fix it. However, our refrigerator is a different story. It stopped cooling. We called LG. We waited a week for a repairman who was not qualified to fix refrigerators. He stated, I dont fix refrigerators. I work on washers and dryers. But with the help of the tech support he was able to determine it was the compressor. I was instructed to call LG with a case number and they would send out a qualified person to fix the problem. This was on a Friday. I called back late Monday afternoon to check on the progress and told they still havent found anyone to fix the issue. I was denied the privilege to speak with upper management and sent into the queue so long that it kicked me out. I called back 2 more times with the same result. I called back a 4th time and spoke with a different rep. He continues to tell me more of the same stuff. Not one rep was able to give me a time frame that I would have to wait for a service repair man because the truth is they dont have one in my area. He was unable to give me a number to upper management or connect me with someone higher up. He said when they send customers into the queue to be sent to the next level they keep being kicked back to them. So in other words LG does not back their products nor care about their customersThey believe it is acceptable for a product to last less than 3 years and a customer to be without a refrigerator for 2 weeks with no recourse. May I add this is during the quarantine, so I had more food in the fridge than normal and yes I lost a lot of food. But no worries for LG. They are not worried about the customer. Do NOT buy LG products. I have NEVER been so upset or dissatisfied with a product before. I am 44 years old and this is the first BAD product review I have written on any product.

I purchased LG stainless double-door bottom freezer refrigerator model #lfy25980st in 2009. I purchased a two-year extended warranty on the item. From the first six months, the ice maker and water dispenser worker poorly. Servicemen were out several times attempting to repair it. Finally they replaced it. I woke up several times after that to water all over my kitchen floor where water was running from dispenser. Then in September of 2011, I came home from vacation to find all the food in the freezer thawed and milk spoiled in fridge. In December that same year, the food on top shelf of fridge was frozen. I was told that I had the vents blocked with too much food. In 2012, the digital lock signal on the door panel would make sounds turning on and off the lock which turns off the water and ice dispenser. It made this noise all night. At this time, my warranty was up and I was using my home warranty plan at $55.00 per visit with a visit sometimes twice a month. I lost food at $400.00 a second time. The service men came out, changed the freezer sensor twice, replaced freezer door on unit and changed the motherboard in back of unit. It still didnt work properly. My home warranty company called LG, spoke to a gentleman named Alex who deemed it unrepairable on March 29th, 2014 with a wiring problem. I was told to send in my proof of purchase and repair history and they would replace or discount another one. Today, 5/8/2014, they have done nothing. As a matter of fact, I was told that since I had a warranty company, they would do nothing. The company only covers $500.00 per year on any covered item and they had already spent that trying to repair it. I would think LG could make a unit that works, not just looks good. Not even two good years. No one should ever buy LG products; I know that is it for my family!!

Our four-year- old LG French door/bottom freezer is a piece of junk. The ice maker continues to shoot water after the cubes have been made which are freezing into large clumps. We now buy 10 bags at the store. Also, the glide for the freezer shelf broke and the shelf fell off. We have since had it replaced. The circuit board failed, also. All food was lost. The LG supervisor was adamant that they could not replace after we appealed. Her comment was why we didnt buy the extended warranty (Who would have thought the main control for this unit would fail.). It cost us over $500 to replace the board, not counting the food which was all spoiled. Of greatest concern is the lack of customer empathy by the LG people. There will never again be an LG product in our home.

2 years old. No cooling or freezing. Technician out 6 times. Technician replaced every part. Still not working. No refrigerator for 3 weeks because they don’t know how to fix it. Home Depot Protection Plan useless. Won’t honor lemon law. Don’t buy LG and definitely not a Home Depot Service Plan.
