Product Reviews:

Not even a month after we purchased the matching LG front load steam washer
Not even a month after we purchased the matching LG front load steam washer and dryer we started having issues. The washer started leaking water from the door when it was running. Maintenance guy came out and basically told us it was our fault. Now a year later, when we open the dryer it literally smells like we have farm animals living in the dryer. Maintenance guy comes out and once again its our fault. These machines are high maintenance and require a complete wipe down after every use. Wipe down the gaskets the doors and leave them open to air out (we have a toddler yeah thats safe) Dryer had to be semi disassembled and the amount of lint the bypasses the filter is INSANE! Why even have a filter it doesnt look like it catches anything! Them wiped down with bleach and sprayed with white vinegar. This is ridiculous and we will never go with another LG appliance ever again.

About 75% of the loads will experience an out of balance error. The washer will attempt to recover by entirely filling with water, agitating and attempt to re-spin. Doesnt work. Even after re-positioning the load, rarely will it complete the cycle. We generally end up removing about half the load and try to spin in batches. We have to babysit the machine to prevent it from using more and more water. We will never buy another LG product and do our best to dissuade others from making the same mistake we did. The one star rating we had to give is more than this machine deserves.

Our refrigerator (model LFXC24726S) was bought at Best Buy Pacific Sales in 2/15. First there was a recall issue in the flat drawer and it kept freezing. It was fixed at no charge. Two weeks ago I went to get ice and all I got was water. My entire freezer was defrosted and the fridge part was getting increasingly warm. After calling the Geek Squad for repair and finding out that my extended warranty was applied to a Samsung fridge I had returned (did not fit properly in my kitchen) and never credited or transferred to the LG. So no warranty, even though it was not our fault. Now nearly 2 weeks later, I find out that the problem is a Freon leak and they cannot fix it. When the Geek Squad came to see about the reason for the failure of this very expensive fridge, he stated that he had 3 LGs have the same thing in the last few weeks. He noted that all the fridges were ALL approximately the same age (3 years or less). After going to corporate since I had gotten nowhere with anyone else at Best Buy, they are finally replacing it. Im hoping this wont happen again in the near future. Fridges are supposed to last more than 3 years.

Have had to buy a dozen or so new bath towels because the washer has been ripping up the old ones resulting in a shelf full of old rags. Am now going through the new batch of bath towels that are also being ripped up. I am presently in the process of accumulating another shelf full of premium rags... Thanks LG...

LG French Door Refrigerator is 1.5 years old and cooling system is intermittent, lost entire content of unit. The ice in the ice machine melted while I was away and ruined my hardwood floor ($450 repair for floor). The local authorized service techs said they have had others LG refrigerators have the same problem. Called LG and was able to schedule a technician to come out after 4 tries. I canceled before he came out because it was working again but since it was prior to the 24hr period they would not refund me. The tech said it would be hard to figure out what is wrong if it working. He suggested that he not come out and wait until or if it has problems again. He said he thinks it is the compressor which is $250 + 125 service call to fix but no guarantee that is the problem. Thank God the parts were under warranty. For a $2000 refrigerator I would of expected it to last more than 1.5 year and have no problems. My old 25 year old GE fridge is still working and never been serviced. LG customer service center is not terribly helpful; called a number of times, each time got a different story, they were only able to follow the script and there was no way to escalate to a supervisor - very frustrating. I usually look at the reviews before I buy. Did not this time but wish I had as I am not the only one to have this type of problem. LG not only has problem with their phones catching on fire and the tops of the washing machine coming off but now it looks like their refrigerators are junk also. Bottom line, will never buy an LG kitchen appliance again.

I liked the stainless steel and the LG brand. It did not disappoint. Which one is the best appliances Ive ever owned in my entire lifetime. The refrigerator is side by side chrome MID level fridge, better than most at 2 so I stay separated nicely. It has you can adjust temperature for different parts of the refrigerator, you can actually maintain different cooling. It was great. Wouldnt change anything. I really like the way it looks but Im not sure I like the fingerprints all over all the time. It seems like no matter what you do, you always have them.

I liked most features such as the touch screen to change my water temp and the temp inside my fridge and its drawers. If I want the meet at a certain temp I can tekk it the temp I want. I didnt dislike hardly anything on that product. I really love temp control from the outside of the product itself. I dont have to stand in the cool air and then decide if I need to rearrange things before I will be able to accomplish what I wish. I would buy another one so yes it met my initial expectations as it keeps fruit ripe and veggies from fermenting. I can hold veggies for weeks before they are black.

Purchased a LG French Door Refrigerator from Home Depot in 2011. Almost 6 years to the date of purchase the unit quit working. After calling LG they stated that the compressor was covered but not labor. Lg suggested two certified appliance repair resources in our area. First referral never returned our call. Second sent a service person out on a week. Technician stated that our unit was the cleanest unit he had ever seen but unfortunately the compressor was bad. Our out of pocket expense will be $600.01 for a refrigerator that is only 6 years old! Our previous refrigerator was 28 years old and cost 1/3 of the cost of this LG. Called LG to file a complaint with no satisfaction. In fact the LG Representative said LG could not help with any labor cost and that we should remember that the unit USA man made product and was not perfect. Really!?? I will never purchase or recommend an LG Product to anyone!

We purchased a new LG French Door Refrigerator from Home Depot in May 2015.
We purchased a new LG French Door Refrigerator from Home Depot in May 2015. In May 2016, June 2017, and June 2019, the refrigerator has stopped working completely, resulting in a total loss of the contents of both the fridge and freezer. We are a family of 5, so we have lost a significant amount of groceries each time. I called LG customer service yesterday (6/27) and was told that they could not help me, as we had purchased a (now-expired) 3-year warranty through Home Depot. After much back and forth, the rep finally agreed to schedule a service appointment. The first available appointment is for Monday, 7/1.We will be without a refrigerator for 5 days in the middle of a Texas summer, provided the issue is fixable. However, as the same issue has already been fixed twice, Im not confident that this will be a lasting solution. We spent $2800 on a refrigerator that has completely stopped functioning 3 times in 4 years. We were also informed yesterday that we may need to pay for the repairs, if they determine it is not a warranty item. We will never buy another LG appliance again.

Within the warranty window, refrigerator ceased to work. LG set an appointment. That company called and changed appointment. Ok. Once I can manage. Same problem with fridge occurs, new appointment set, again company cancels and changes. In the interim, fridge stops working altogether. LG customer service takes the usual 10-12 minutes to answer and again long wait for appointment. Three days out! Company La Mesa Appliance, again cancels and changes appointment. LG provides no help or support.

My LG french door is only 2 years old and the refrigerator section stopped cooling. The freezer compartment continues to keep my food cold and frozen. We contacted customer service and had a very challenging time explaining the customer service rep what the problem was. Finally, he said he would have a repair company contact us. The repair company that contacted us is 4 hours away!!! And only service the area I live in once a week. They did work on the refrigerator and determined that a part had to be ordered for it. The repair company said they would contact us as soon as the part arrived. We are now in our 4th week without refrigeration!!! Yes, we had to go through the holidays using coolers and have lost so much costly food! My husband just contacted the repair company again and was again told that they would call us as soon as the part came in. I WILL NEVER BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR AGAIN.

I was so excited to finally get a new refrigerator and just loved it. Unfortunately within months (it is less than a year old) I began to get rust lines on the front of my new french door refrigerator (LG LFC247700ST). It is on 4 of the corner areas of the door where there was no protective film placed on it for shipping. LG web support had no answer except that I could use a stainless steel cleaner on it, which I had been using. Since the front of the fridge does not hold a magnet, I assume it is not real stainless steel so why would there be rust? Very disappointed.

I bought an LG Tromm washer and dryer (WM2077CW) from Home Depot. The dryer has been excellent but the washer is another story. My white clothes are dull gray-looking even with the use of Oxy-Clean and/or bleach. I clean the door seals and use the cleaner recommended by LG and still my clothes stink and appear dirty. The washer now doesnt wash. The machine will come on but will not wash. This is the second time I have to fix this machine. I will never ever buy another. I have contacted LG with no response. I will probably trash this machine, because I wouldnt even sell it to my worst enemy. Note to all consumers, dont buy LG.

Bought the LG LFC24786st from Sears exactly 3 years ago this week. At the 1 1/2 year point the motherboard and fan needed replacing. Really WTF, a year and a half. Oh well, it was under warranty. Yesterday it happens again. Right now the fridge is sitting at 54 degrees, the freezer is warmer because we had to remove everything. Really now, 2 motherboards in three years plus the Sears extended warranty is no longer any good because of the closing even though I still have 2 years left. This is really looking like LG Lemon fridges are not the way to go. I see from above that its not so much a model of the fridge but the make that keeps breaking. Ill tell you something, this is hitting the internet big time. Im frustrated, pissed off, and right now... fridgeless.

Let me say first, I always like to give anybody a chance to resolve issues
Let me say first, I always like to give anybody a chance to resolve issues and I am really patient with giving multiple chances to do so! After four years of horrible service and a machine which is unusable with heavy laundry I finally had it, I feel everybody should know! This washer is unable to spin heavy loads! Washing half a load is impossible, it cannot balance a half load! If you fill the washer up with towels and bed linens it sometimes spins, but often it does not!! It will display in the screen that the load is unbalanced. THE ONLY THING I CAN DO IS TAKING THE TOTALLY WET LOAD OUT OF THE MACHINE, PUT A PART OF THE LOAD BACK IN THE MACHINE AND THEN IT CAN SPIN TWO OR THREE SMALL LOADS, THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!!The problem exists already from the beginning, its stupid from me that I have dealt with it for so long. I am just too busy! I started to take action after the warranty was expired. So LG was nice and extended the warranty. But before someone came to our house I had to listen to their UNBELIEVABLE ADVICE: I was only supposed to put 4 towels in the washer, I was supposed to put jeans on one side and t-shirts on the other in the same load??? And then a tech told me this machine was not made for heavy loads! On top of that I was told that I should only use the towel program for towels and other programs were not made for it! But I wanted to use the hygiene program that gives hot steam as well! Later I was told that this was all not true and that the machine should be able to do it all! They eventually decided that the drum was warped and that it needed to be replaced. So a tech came, but the poor man barely could do the work. He was sweating profusely had trouble to sit on his knees and it took him many hours. Then he noticed a screw was not working well from the new outer drum so he decided to put the new inner drum inside of the old outer drum. He convinced me the problem was solved, BUT THAT WAS NOT TRUE, THE PROBLEM WAS STILL THERE!!!!Now THE PROBLEM WAS EVEN WORSE, after the repair THE MACHINE DID NOT SPIN AND DID NOT DRAIN ANYMORE!! I was beyond myself! It took forever before the next tech came, a very nice man, but he said he had no time to fix it and that another tech would come instead. Weeks went by and a totally arrogant man showed up on the wrong day, when only my husband was home. He said he was going to fix it his way and it was up to him to decide what he was going to do. The fact that a manager of LG had decided to replace the full drum this time, he totally ignored!! He repaired a few things and decided it was now really fixed.Lots of email correspondence later with a manager from LG, to my utmost frustration the problem is still there!! Appointments were cancelled due to weather and scheduling problems and one tech just did not show up! I can hardly believe it but THE WASHER IS STILL NOT SPINNING WITH HEAVY LOADS AND EVEN WITH SMALLER LOADS IT BANGS AND IT MADE EVEN MY KIDS WONDER WHERE THE NOISE IS COMING FROM!! I am so frustrated and dont know what to do!! I approached another department to seek for real help but they came back to me with a few ridiculous statements, like changing my laundry detergent to he what I always have done even with the much better washer I had before from kitchenaid.I AM SEEKING FOR HELP, THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE WASHER $1199!! I have saved every e-mail correspondence I had with them. So I have proof that my story is true! I am so done with this machine and want to make sure that other people never have to go through the same issues I have! THEREFORE THIS WARNING: NEVER EVER BUY AN LG!!

After 3 years needed minor repair. LG wouldn’t sell me the part. Had to pay LG repair guy to do a job I could easily do. Very annoying. After 5 years door seal went. Called. They said weld broke on drum. $800 for parts not worth fixing. Single man after 5 years. We loved this fridge for about the first 3 months. Then the optional second ice maker that we purchased would take a week to fill. We were told the air temp in AZ was too hot for the fridge to produce ice any faster!! Really, how stupid do you think we are? We have had at least 10 visits to repair this issue and now the upper part of the fridge is fluctuating from 30-42 degrees when set at 37. We are losing food to spoilage and freezing. I actually LOVE my LG Tromm Washer and Dryer and have had very good luck with the company. Im responding because Ive seen numerous complaints about clothes and towels smelly moldy. I too had this problem with bath towels. Its not the fault of the washer, but rather it is using too much detergent and/or not using HE detergent.Heres what you need to do to get rid of the smell, but it will require two cycles: 1) Wash items with 1 cup of vinegar and no detergent. Add vinegar directly to load not the dispenser; and 2) Wash items again using 1 cup of baking soda and no detergent adding it to the load not dispenser. Wash items on the hottest setting possible. The moldy smell should be gone. From here on out ensure that youre using HE detergent and use the absolute bare minimum as HE detergent is highly concentrated. Any residue left on clothing or towels will act as a binding agent, hence the moldy smells. Good luck!

This problem dates back to April 2019. My 1 yr old LG Refrigerator stopped working so I called LG and they dispatched a Tech from A&E repair (Sears). The tech told me it was compressor and evaporator and would be about 1000 to fix. I told him I would contact LG as it should be under warranty. So he charge me 119 dollars and left. I called LG. They said it was in fact under warranty and shouldnt have been charged. They dispatched the same repair people 1 weeks later. So it now been 2wks. with no Refrigerator. Repair guy came and had to order the parts (why couldn’t he see the first guys diagnostic).2 more weeks without Refrigerator. Guy showed up and fixed the problem. Fast forward to July 15th 2019 dead refrigerator again, So I called LG. They assured me this would be fixed in a timely manner! Well they promised by the 31st and A&E confirmed it but to no avail, A&E rescheduled it for the 9th of AUG. Well after hours on phone they said they will come here on the 7th which is today. The guy shows up and looks at it, takes the back off and says we have more issues not just the compressor but the evaporator and he will need to order parts. So now it’s been 3 weeks and he can’t be back here until the 26th.We have been living out of ice chest to keep our food cold. We are a family of 4 so wasting a lot of time and money for ice, I am a heart patient and need to eat a certain way, so I can’t rely on fast food. This has been a complete nightmare. I spent over 2000 dollars on a product I thought was quality. On another note I purchased a LG 60 inch TV and it died 14 months later just out of warranty--1000 dollars down the drain. So much for Lifes Good.

We had purchased a LG 3 door refrigerator in 2014 month of October, yesterday it stopped cooling or making ice. We called the number listed on the refrigerator. Got a automated system that sent us a text message to troubleshoot the problem. We did exa5 as was given in the text. Waited 24 hours, woke up this morning and that refrigerator was still not cooling or made any ice. Called LG back. Spoke with one of their service representatives who informed me what I already knew that if it was my compressor I have a 10 year warranty on this part but I would have to pay a service call charge and a labour charges if it was the compressor. The charges were as follows. 125.00 for the service call and if compressor labour is 250.00. Researching online I found that there a class action lawsuit against them for this issue. They have known about this and have kept continuing to sell these refrigerators with this issue. Also while researching I found out that this happens after 5 years and my extended warranty has expired. This is not right. I asked the representative about my food loss and he state to me after I had this repair done to call back and speak to a customer service representative and they would give me a compensation for my food loss but I needed receipts for the food I had in my refrigerator. I asked him who keeps their receipts and he brushed it off by stating call after the repair is complete and speak to the food loss department. I have a receipt but it wont let me upload. We bought it brand new with matching Refrigerator, Microwave, and Dishwasher. Within the first year the Blue Paint started popping off into our food and ruined our Thanksgiving TURKEY DINNER. LG CUSTOMER SERVICE SENT OUT A TECH WHO STATED IT WAS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. We followed directions and were sent a Return Authorization. I was called to service out of the country but had arranged for LG to replace the Range with a new one. I returned from my duty abroad to find that the Range had never been replaced and was still defective. I called to request that LG honor their RA and was told that it expired after 30 days and now they would not replace my oven. I got my Extended Warranty rep. Wanda ** at AM Trust Group involved and she contacted LG on a 3-way call and they requested a copy of our purchase receipt again. Wanda sent it to them, handled the claim for me and e-mailed that we were getting a New Range, I just needed to call LG to arrange it. I called LG and was redirected away from the representative that said we could have a refund of our purchase price plus taxes to Barbara, a Customer Service Manager who stated that due to the time that passed the best they could do for my Refund was $267 for my $897 Range. I complained and was sent to the LEAD AGENT, Managing Director for Customer service, Michael, on February 12th, 2015. He offered to Increase the Proration to $407 for my Range and despite my pointing out that it was the same faulty range they had agreed to replace originally. He stated that that was LGs full and Final offer for my now out of manufacturers Warranty, Defectively built Non-repairable Range. He stated I would get paperwork in the mail in a few days and would need to remove the Manufacturer ID plate from my Range to prove I still had the Range in order to get a refund Check. That was over 2 weeks ago and Nothing has happened. Now the Range stovetop does not shut off and I am in dire need of a new Range. Thanks for nothing LG (LOW GRADE) corporation. All US MILITARY FAMILIES ARE WARNED. LG DOES NOT CARE! AND DOES NOT KEEP THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE HALF-HEARTED PROMISES. PS, MY Refrigerators electric self-opening and closing Doors stopped working, it was not a Manufacturer Defect and the parts are not available. So Wandas Extended warranty Company gave me a full refund of my purchase Price. Bravo. Too Bad my Range was a Manufacturer DEFECT and not covered under my Extended Warranty as such.

I have now seen hundreds if not thousands of online pictures of my similar issue with this product. The control panel is NOT sealed correctly so the steam seeps out on the top and has entered the thin plastic which encases the control panel and created small but obvious cracks. This would not happen if the door/panel was sealed tightly with some form of a seal, which it is not. It is plastic meets plasic on a edge. Therefore the steam enters creating heat and pressure and cracking the display as well as allowing moisture into the electrical panel.** Here is a link to a video that shows the issue. This is a design flaw. Its also a hazard since the water vapor is seeping into the panel. My dishwasher is also not very old. I do not recommend this product since the design flaw not only has NOT been fixed, it has not been addressed by LG despite numerous reports on the web. Shame on LG for allowing a flaw to just continue each year in this model.

Purchased LG side by side bottom freezer 24 cf refrigerator in Jan 2015, main control board went out within 3 month, fixed under warranty. Fast forward 3 years compressor went out. Had to pay labor. LG service backed up 3 weeks. Currently refrigerator compartment not cooling. Less than 48 degrees. Down since 6/21/20 had not been working right for a while. It was making drilling sound. Replaced a fan 7/1. Sound stopped. Its still not cooling. I have been waiting for more parts since tech came back out on 7:14. This was third visit. No one will talk to me at LG. This is a defective product and I have received no response from LG at all. Should not be down for 5 weeks. I have asked for their help 5 times with calls and three emails. I have had no customer support at all. I am Very frustrated and extremely disappointed in their lack of concern. They manufactured and sold a defective product and have offered no resolution or even acknowledged my complaint I have had a horrible experience to this point.

I purchase my old LG Microwave Oven Model MVI680ST at Home Depot 2 years ago. The door handle broke. The frame is falling apart in pieces. Have pictures and I immediately contacted LG Customer Support. A representative named Mike was very nice but hes just following orders from chief of command. He said I should contact a service place to have this fixed because its over a year old of purchase so no warranty. He gave me Ref# ** and case would be submitted to tech. Im completely unsatisfied after my experience and my neighbor too with her refrigerator she purchase within 9 months started giving her problems. Why would I buy another LG product? LG does not stand behind their warranty! DO NOT buy any LG product! They simply want your $ and they do not care about customer satisfaction!!! After this experience will go back to appliances GE, Whirlpool, Frigidaire.

Purchased the 7.3 cu. ft. Electric Double Oven Range with ProBake Convection (LDE4415ST), EasyClean and Infrared Heating System on 9/17/2016. I love the double oven. I notice the knobs do turn on the burner very easily. My biggest issue is the printed numbers on the knobs have worn off 3 times so far. I have only used the Weiman stove top cleaner and sometimes Windex to clean the top. I have replaced the knobs 3 times because I can no longer see the numbers. My current set is starting to go, not sure what if anything can be done, getting tired of replacing knobs! There is also a white residue on the burner, seems like its inside the glass though.

After more than 6 non-productive service calls to my pristine LG washer, wh
After more than 6 non-productive service calls to my pristine LG washer, which was shutting down as a result or a false error code, I sent the following to the head of LG in the US and copied the conglomerates CEO. Nearly two months later, we have not had the courtesy of a reply from this unresponsive, arrogant, incompetent and corrupt company.I am writing directly to you in order to allow LG Electronics the opportunity to rectify a situation involving a washing machine, which has been deemed unrepairable by both an LG-certified repair service company and by your customer service organization, which refuses to offer equitable assistance in resolving the problem. Please note the washing machine is in good condition, not significantly worn, functions very well half of the time, and then shuts down showing a false error message. In brief, the machine in question produces an error code and stops mid-cycle. After more than six service calls, replacement of several parts including the same parts multiple times, and numerous calls to the LG help desk, your authorized service technician declared the machine unrepairable and looked to LG for further guidance or, in the absence of guidance, an offer from LG to replace the machine since it is not repairable and well within what should be its useful life span. LG has refused because the machine, purchased in 2005, is out of warranty.Mr. Cho, understand we are not seeking a free repair. We fully expect to pay for a repair on a machine that while out of warranty is still well within its useful life cycle. However LG has failed to produce an appliance which, when inexplicably logically shuts down, can be repaired by LG authorized service. As a result, we are forced to replace the appliance very prematurely. If you will not replace the appliance, then we request that you provide instruction on how a technician may bypass the board that is producing the erroneous fault code that is shutting down the machine mid-cycle. These good faith solutions are only reasonable. In addition, and as a consequence of LGs failure to produce a machine which can be repaired, we have incurred expenses for sending laundry out to be done. While at this time we are not seeking reimbursement from you for these costs, which are now well over $1,000, we will not hesitate to include them in any legal action which we are forced to take against LG should LG refuse to act in good faith and choose to ignore our reasonable request. Such action may include, but not be limited to, commencement of a consumer fraud action against LG under M.GL 93 A, which provides for treble damages and attorneys fees.Interestingly, from a non-exhaustive online search, we have learned that LG routinely refuses assistance to consumers with out-of-warranty machines, which are still within their useful life but cannot be repaired, because LG maintains the appliances are not intended to last. We therefore believe it would not be a difficult task to win class action status for any action taken against LG for intentional defects in its laundry appliances. In addition we will not hesitate to refer this case to the attorney general of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.Mr. Cho, you should know that I was an early and loud proponent of your products and installed them in the laundry rooms of three estates and on my yacht as well. I did this despite the warnings of others that LG was merely the new incarnation of a Korean brand known for shoddy products, Goldstar and Lucky Goldstar. Now, it appears, your detractors were right and LG is interested only in volume sales and not in customer satisfaction or customer loyalty.Mr. Cho, I do hope we can resolve this problem amicably and without legal action or publicity. However, please do not underestimate my resolve. As the founder and former CEO of a multibillion-dollar company, I well understand the difference between good faith effort and fraud. I am hopeful this situation is the former and not the latter. I am a consumer of means and I will not hesitate to pursue my claims against LG. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Purchased a new $2K+ LG refrigerator 4 years ago as part of an entire kitchen suite. The compressor (sealed system) failed, and while the labor wasnt covered under warranty, the parts to repair the refrigerator was covered. I had a LG certified technician make 5 separate visits trying to repair my refrigerator and it was never fixed. It simply will not cool anything in both the refrigerator and freezer. Thus, Ive had to go out and purchase a new refrigerator at my expense. Ive tried to go through the LG process whereby they would consider replacing or reimbursing my refrigerator. They have continued to deny my request, thus the reason Ive been forced to purchase a new refrigerator to replace my LG unit that was barely 4 years old. I will never purchase another LG appliance as they do not stand by their products.

We purchased an LG front loader washing machine, LG dryer and LG refrigerator in 2006. The dryer needed repair service once; the washing machine had several issues including nasty smell, weird spots on clothes and needed lots of repair, and the refrigerator has stopped working twice. We had purchased the appliances through Best Buy and were able to cover some of those repairs under the extended warranty. All the appliances are long out of warranty now. Last year, we found that there was an internal leak in the washing machine causing the rear left housing to rust completely through which resulted in a flooded laundry area every time the machine was running. Now the freezer/refrigerator stopped working (again). I have not yet contacted LG as I dont expect them to actually do anything about these issues. The dryer is still running as far as I know. In all fairness, we have used the washer extensively but based on my experience with other brands, I would not buy any LG appliances again. They were expensive, turned out to be substandard, and have costly repairs.

Bought LG washer and dryer just over 6 years ago. Had no problems till today when the dryer started to thump. I am a retired millwright-machinist and have repaired washers and dryers as part of my job for years in a large hospital. I took the dryer apart to discover the drum was cracked on the welded seam. My extended warranty ran out in March. Called the Warranty Department at LG and was told they never heard of such a thing and could not help me (I did tell them that there were hundreds of similar complaints on the internet). Called the local service company and was told a service call would be about $300 plus parts. They couldnt understand I already had it apart.I called another company and was told that I could buy a new drum for $133.58 but the drum was back east and it would take several weeks to have it shipped here, so I will weld the drum for now and order it at a later date. Not happy. The washer has performed O.K. but has a funky smell if you keep the door shut. We wash and dry about 4 loads per week so its not abused. Will not buy another LG.

I bought this LG gas range last November at Home Depot. (And they knew nothing at all about the flaws in the range.) To begin, there was a problem with the gas not turning on quickly enough, causing some gas to leak out, and a repairman came and fixed it. It required a part that had to be ordered, and I couldn’t use the range for a few days. But there are two other big problems I have had. First, the easy clean feature. It doesn’t work. At all. And it is a pain to use anyway—filling the indented compartment in the bottom of the oven! Doesn’t do anything, and then you have to extract the water by hand from the oven floor. They say not to use oven cleaners, etc. as it can ruin the oven walls. Which leaves no real choices. A man who came to put in a new dishwasher told me I could use something like Soft Scrub. I haven’t tried it yet. I am 73 years old, and I am too old to have to get on my hands and knees and clean an oven.Second problem: when the oven is on, air blows out from the oven, but instead of coming out the front, it comes out the back. The air flow is directed toward the burners and usually blows them out. If you don’t stay right with it, you have a major gas leak problem. I have had to put up barriers in front of the air flow vents to keep this from happening. I would never walk away from the stove if I use the oven and cook on the burners at the same time. This might be the worst appliance I have ever purchased. I would never ever buy another lg appliance. The leaking gas is a major safety concern. The company had to know the easy clean feature doesn’t work. And when I told the repairman this, he said maybe I should have done better research before I purchased it. Wonderful customer service. I would like to give no stars...

Our fridge is 4 years old and the sealed system compressor failed. The unit had a 7 year warranty and it turned out that LG now covered labor as well because of the frequent failures. The customer service at LG barely speak English and are clueless. After bouncing us to and fro with Lowes (who sold us a warranty with the fridge) it turned out their recommended service did not have any support staff in Arizona. We have been without the refrigerator for over 2 weeks right through Thanksgiving. It took us hours on the phone to get anywhere but finally we have a repair company but LG even let them down by being late delivering the parts - from Phoenix to Tucson!!! Take our advice dont buy an LG and get you refrigerator from a local supplier who can service it (not from Lowes).

I bought an LG gas stove a year ago and a microwave as well. What a piece of junk the stove is! It does not heat up fast. It takes 20 min to come to 350 and it does not even heat up right. I am always burning food which never happened unless it was my fault. It has 2 temps burnt or raw! I do use it a lot but that is no excuse. The blue interior has a haze on it I cant get rid of, I have tried everything under the sun. If there was a way to get my money back or fixed the interior I would but Google is no help. Now the microwave, it went out 6 months ago I called them it took another 3 months for them to get someone to come out and we live in Northern VA not a rural area then another 3 months to get someone out to fix it. We hardly ever use it (the microwave) and to have the control board go out at 6 months is crazy. I got the extended and its acting up again! I dont think I can ever buy an LG product again. If I had the money I would junk the stove and get something else. But I dont. I somehow doubt LG even cares. Neither one was cheap.

I initially chose the LG refrigerator because of the style. It matched my kitchen appliances already in the house. I also picked it because it was spacious and affordable. The LG refrigerator that I previously owned was spacious. It was also nice stainless steel design. It had a good ice maker that also gave you good cold water. I didnt like the fact that this refrigerator didnt last as long as I thought it would. It broke and would no longer keep my food cold. It was disappointing that my nice fridge broke and I had to purchase a new one.

I chose LG because it had the most features I wanted and it was a good price. When I shop for appliances I take it seriously and compare several different brands for the features I want and need. It has met my expectations. It was a two door fridge with a bottom pull out freezer. It included an ice machine, variable temperatures, and different drawers inside. There was an ice machine in the freezer portion, as well as one that you were able to fill a water glass up with (in the area where water was dispensed. There was also a child safety lock. I disliked how the ice machine in the freezer part always filled up the whole freezer with ice when it was turned on. I think there should be an easier option to disable this and it should be made clear that this feature can be turned off and on.

My brother bought my mother a state-of-the-art LG washer. It is supposed to wash and dry all in one. At first, it worked good. However the drying failed and LG sent out a repair man. They told my mother that it was her fault that the machine was not working (pilot error) wrong! I tested it myself. I spent hours one night doing every combination the book asked and followed the repairmans advice as asked. It did not dry properly. I cleaned the traps and drain the water from the drain hole. My mother has had clothes all over the bathroom to dry her things. She has had LG get repair for the same problem over and over. This time it burst some sort of air line and made a screaming vent of air. I happen to have been visiting her when it happened. The repair man could find nothing wrong other than it not drying. Mom talks my ear off over the matter and all she wants is to wash and dry. She is running back and forth to the laundromat. She is 72 and should not have to have this type of problem. I know she will not run it now. The machine had scared her on the air whatever. The machine is still under warranty but all they do is try to rip her off. One service sent by LG wanted $65 to even touch something not covered. She asked if he could fix the garbage disposal and he did, and charged her $95. I was smoking hot when I heard. One he was there to fix the LG, but took her for 95 dollars for a clogged disposal. I am 300 miles away and all that keeps happening is I talk to the damn repairman via phone. Anybody have any idea on what I can do? The machine was over $1200 and it only washes a few things at a time. My brother was trying to make things easier for her getting the machine as a gift, but it has made her life hell. She would have been better with her old upright washer. And of course the machine worked the two days he visited. He was impressed with the bells, whistles and lights. How can a company like LG get away with this?

We purchased a counter-depth LG French Door unit from Lowes about 5 years ago with a 3-year service agreement. Because LG doesnt make as many counter depth compared to standard depth, it cost more (~$3000). Cosmetically and storage-wise, we were quite happy with it, but early in the first year we noticed that ice was building up behind the left bottom storage drawer. Lowes repairman replaced the entire rear fan/control unit, explaining that if we didnt have the service contract it would have cost us about $500.Unfortunately 2-more service calls by 2 different organizations were required in the first 3-years --- all for the same ice problem! We then purchased a 1-year extension for the service agreement because it was obvious that our $3000 fridge had a problem no one seemed to be able to fix. We were correct, because we had more ice in that year.Numerous calls and emails to LG and Lowes during these 5-years got us little more than asking for more and more details about previous repairs. They also referred us to someone to repair it. They all tried, replacing more pieces and parts. Finally, a few months ago when ice again recurred we spent $90 for another LG expert to review our issue. They told us LG had issued some sort of bulletin about this problem, and for another $500 for the part, plus labor, they could fix it. At this point we had already spent at least $750 and dozens of hours trying to fix a $3000 fridge and had no confidence anyone could repair it properly, so this afternoon our new Frigidaire will be installed and the LG hauled away; and Im writing this review. On October 26th the oven of my LG range exploded. On Monday October 27 my husband call the office where we have the extended warranty from. They told us the technician would call us the next day. He did and came out and told us the range would have to be replace. He would hand in his report that day and we should hear something from the warranty office within 5 days. My husband has called the warranty office twice a week for the last 5 weeks, and still nothing as to when or if we will get a replacement range. Christmas is 3 weeks away and I have not been able to do any baking or anything. As for Christmas dinner, it appears we will be having bologna sandwiches instead of Turkey. I am so disgusted and upset. The store my husband bought the range from is The Brick in Kitchener Ontario, and they say they cant do anything until they hear from LG.. I think it is totally deplorable how an appliance company can get away with this crap. Yet Oprah thinks their appliances are so great. I have news for her. They arent.

The knobs on my NEW THREE MONTH OLD stove are so touchie I’ve turned them on without even knowing, and have it catch on fire on my glass top and burned myself trying to put it out. This was on 7/21/18. I called the company and emailed SEVERAL times. Getting told, they will get back to me even after I told them how dangerous the knobs are and it happens all the time. I told them I’m scared children or adults can seriously be burned. Then I sent them pictures and kept getting the runaround because I didn’t need to go to the emergency room they said. (I was not trying to sue them) just let them know how dangerous it is. I now have permanent fire damage on my three month old glass stove top. I asked if they could fix it and the phone supervisor (accidentally) hung up on me when I called back with my case number. They said they have no record of me calling at all. And have not seen the faxed pictures they told me to send. Then today 12/7/18 same thing happened and once again. This time a big fire we had to put out. Now my pretty glass top stove looks terrible but lucky no major fire damage - just a terrible looking stove. The sad thing is I have LG stove, microwave, refrigerator, washer and dryer. You think a big company like their’s would take this seriously.

We purchased the refrigerator the first of the year, 2015. After four years it stopped working. We called the company for them to schedule a repairman to come out. When we didnt hear back within a couple of days we called back. They told us that the serviceman was too far out and wouldnt come. They had not told us nor scheduled for someone else to come out. So after speaking with him again he scheduled for another serviceman to come out. Over the next few weeks and numerous servicemen it went something like this: 1. Sorry, I dont have the expertise to work on these. 2. I dont work on any with the Freon problems. 3. I wont work on them because we have a dispute with LG.4. Too far for me to travel to your city from here.LGs reputation precedes them. One repairman asked me if I knew what LG stood for. He saw my puzzled look and replied Lost Groceries. After two or three weeks we finally get a repairman that can work on our refrigerator. But oops, the company sent the wrong compressor to our home for him. More wait to get another one and schedule another date. This was February of this year, 2019. We lost everything in the frig and they would not reimburse us because we didnt have the sales receipt. They knew by their records where we purchased it from, the date, the date of registration and we sent them the bill of lading from the store. It was not good enough. I tried to come to terms with all of it and just be happy it was working again.Forward a few months to July 3, 2019 and our refrigerator is once again not working. We will lose all the food that was just purchased. They scheduled for a serviceman to come out but we dont know if it is one they called before that cant/wont work on it or not until they come. I fear it is going to be another two to three week ordeal again. And I dont know how long the fix will last. I just want to unload this refrigerator and get something of quality that I know will work. I loved the look of the frig and thought it would be a dream to have but instead it is a nightmare. I would never again purchase an LG product. I wish I had read reviews before purchasing it. I hope this review will help someone considering this same purchase.

Bought an LG LMXS30076S refrigerator July 2016 and Sept. 2017 everything suddenly thawed out. Called LG several times and they said it would be on me since I didnt buy the extended warranty. They sent me the # for the 1 and only place that handles their repairs within 60 miles of me. I called them and they didnt even want to deal with my refrigerator since they said they always have issues getting LG to reimburse or pay them for parts and service. Id have to pay $89 to just have someone come out to diagnose. They came a week later and said all the Freon leaked out and I would need to have the entire cooling unit rebuilt. It would cost $1200 in parts alone! I called the store I bought this from and they worked with LG and they said they would cover it (how nice of them).Parts came in 2 weeks later, I took the day off to wait for the repair guy. He worked on it for an hour and ran into an issue reaching a part in the unit that he needed to access. He called LG and asked how to problem solve this, they told him to cut it apart and solder it after installing. He asked who would be responsible if he did this and further damaged the unit. They said it was his problem and hung up on him. LG you should be ashamed of whoever you have employed to handle these calls. And you have repair contracts with technicians you treat like crap! Useless junk refrigerator and Im stuck with it? I think a class action lawsuit is in order.

I wish I could describe my experience, but there are no words for the dishonestly, incompetence, run-around, LYING, lack of responsibility, unprofessional, and just plain unethical, horrific conduct this company has shown me in spades and spades and spades. I purchased a very expensive LG Space Saver, side-by-side refrigerator/freezer about 16 months ago. Surprise - surprise, the compressor went out. The labor was not under warranty, but the part apparently was. Well, that would require even a semblance of customer service or honestly or even a mild attempt to care about a customer or fix a product. What I got was a vague reference to maybe having someone CALL ME in 2-3 weeks to MAYBE get out there and maybe fix the compressor. First, I was put through a bunch of dumb tests and waiting -- because yeah, a refrigerator SQUEALING, thawing out, and dripping ice down the door could be caused by leaving the door open for 5 minutes. NOT. And I didnt. Still, it took me a while -- playing LGs games -- to realize that nobody has any responsibility or integrity. That they lie as quickly and effortlessly as some folks breathe, and that every single person you talk to will give you a different answer or solution -- absolute no one will mean what they say or follow through. And they could care less how much of your time, effort, or money they cost you (I lost $800 worth of food; spent over 7 hours on the phone, talking to over 12 different people, many not even in the USA, being promised things that never happened -- only to be shuffled to someone else; being referred to their own repair companies THAT DID NOT EXIST! (Literally, I called all three of the companies myself because I couldnt wait 2-3 weeks for maybe. One, the guy was out for the next month or so because of surgery -- yeah, glad I didnt wait 2-3 weeks on him; one, they said they stopped working with LG years ago and wished theyd quit telling people otherwise; and the last one - phone disconnected). Yet, I could not get anyone at LG to understand why I wasnt willing to wait 2-3 weeks for someone at one of these 3 companies to call me!!!In the send you to ten different people, all of who will lie to you game (oh, and prepare to sit on hold for 30 minutes or more at a time, just to be rerouted to someone and start all over... again... and again...), I was told they had a repairman in the area and were sending him to my house now. Please hold. Please hold. Please hold. only to waste another hour and be told I needed to wait on one of the three companies. This went on for 3-4 days!!! Meanwhile, I tried to call an independent repairman -- my family actually needs to eat -- and what I heard from professional after professional after professional was a NIGHTMARE. No one would work with LG. LG does not pay their claims. LG compressors break all the time. Dealing with LG is a virtual nightmare. Etc! I finally found a company with a certified LG repairman (He used to WORK FOR LG) who said he would work on the warrantied part and seek payment for it from LG. (LG had already given me a useless approval # which I could use with one of those three companies. Are we really back to calling the unicorns and Santa Claus again -- newsflash, idiots! They dont exist!) Anyhow, after another day of dealing with a bunch of representatives not in the USA, I got a hold of someone who walked me through a ton of steps in order to send a pre-approved service authorization to the company I FOUND -- it would be in the companys email box in 24-48 hours. Guess what? Surprise - surprise. There was no email authorization; they never sent anything; they never called me back; and I guess they just lied at the time.So I finally paid to have the private company come out and check the refrigerator -- bad compressor. Of course, read the reviews -- everyone is saying this, so LG must know it! Well the company tried to get a hold of LG to schedule a date to fix the compressor -- they had my approval # and told LG I had been given authorization to use them and the authorization was supposed to be in their email box a week ago (oh, and they made me call the company and get a bunch of information, including this email address for this authorization email that never existed. Maybe they do this ** for fun??? Anyhow, the company Id hired could never get hold of anyone at LG -- no surprise there -- so finally went through their world-class (world being literal - class being a JOKE) customer service, only to be told that there would be no authorization because *I* the customer had an appointment scheduled for next week with one of those three original companies. ARE - YOU - KIDDING - ME!?! No one ever called me or scheduled any appointment, and as we all know -- those 3 companies were bogus to begin with. What the ** kind of operation is LG running. This is beyond PATHETIC. Its fraudulent. Moronic. Inexcusable. Sad thing is: I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANY LG PRODUCT AGAIN, no matter how large or small, and Ive already told everyone I know to AVOID THE REFRIGERATORS LIKE THE PLAGUE. Good going, LG.RUN - DONT WALK - AWAY FROM ANY LG REFRIGERATOR/FREEZER. Or at least call half a dozen appliance repair companies and ask what they have to say about this product -- youll get a surprising earful. LG has no customer service, and they couldnt give two ** if their customers ever get anything fixed, let alone in a timely fashion. If you have 20 - 30 - 40 hours to be given the runaround, to sit on hold, to be lied to and shuffled, to speak to folks all over the world who will each tell you a new and ever-more inventive lie, then by all means, buy this refrigerator. But if you think any part of it will ever break, then youre on your own. LG should be ASHAMED. And I hope theres a class-action lawsuit at some point because they need to be exposed.

WM2050CW - We purchased this machine in 2010 and it seemed the answer to all our prayers. It worked great, cleaned well and the clothes were almost dry when they were done - very little time in the dryer to get them done. The machine wasnt cheap but it would save energy and use less water and of course cut down on dryer time. Then this year problems arose and it was out of warranty. No problem, I thought, just call a repairman and all will be good. WRONG. Found out most will not work on the Korean made LGs. The parts are hard to get and expensive and the service from LG itself is horrible. This coming from the tech that we finally found to come out and work on it. Great we thought, get it fixed and back to washing. WRONG again. Pump was shot and the supports on the center drum were beginning to go. Okay how much to fix? We asked. $400 for the pump which could take up to two weeks to even get and up to a $1000 to replace the supports. OUCH!!!! Needless to say repairs were not done. Called several repair businesses to get a recommendation for a replacement. All came up with the same answer...... DONT buy another front loader. Reason: not built to last, parts are expensive, and some brands like LG nobody will work on. So we went back to the good old top loader and it is a Speed Queen and it has a 3 year warranty and according to all the repair people we talked to it is one of the most dependable out there. The best part it is made here in the good ole USA..... If you think front loaders are great look them up on youtube and see what happens when the supports go............ SCARY.

I have the LG model WM2140CW washer and dryer for about 2 years. I have cleaned the gasket, inside of the tub, and door on the washing machine as directed by the manufacturer and run bleach through the tub clean cycle and still cannot get rid of the moldy smell. When cleaning the gasket, I noticed mold and mildew on the gasket and have cleaned them with modified bleach and even used Q-tips to remove the mold, it just comes back. Even after you wipe the gaskets off after each wash, you cannot get all of the mold out of the gaskets and this transfers to your clothes, sometimes needing to be rewashed 2 or 3 times. I keep the door open for ventilation but there is no way for the gasket area to stay completely dry. The smell is so bad at times you have to close the laundry room door to keep it from reeking into the rest of the house. I am calling for service this week but I know what they are going to tell me which is exactly what I have been doing. I would not recommend this LG set to anyone. I plan on going back to a top loading washer just to get the smell out of my house and clothes. As far as the dryer, I have to run it 2 to 3 times just to get clothes dry. Avoid LG at all costs.

It was the cheapest refrigerator that I could afford. All of the rest were very expensive and not worth the price. It was the color I liked and in my price range. However, the storage space can be improved. It can also have more shelves to hold items. Also I think it should have more freezer space. And a wider variety of colors to choose from. Overall I like my ice maker. I really like to eat ice when IM hungry. I also like that I can adjust the temperature settings. There was also room for all my fruits and vegetables.

We purchased all new LG appliances for our newly built house. Initially we were very happy with our purchases until our LG Fridge suddenly quit. We had a repair technician come and was told it was the compressor. Unfortunately for us he replaced the compressor but still was unable to fix it. He was advised by LG to remove the new compressor and that we would have to unfortunately purchase a new fridge, but that once the paperwork was sent in LG would be issuing us a rebate for our fridge that was unable to be fixed since it had a 10 year compressor warranty. The original claim was sent in April 2018 and I am yet to see the rebate cheque I was promised, even signed and filled out the paperwork for. I have contacted their customer service over a dozen times now and have not received any better answers than someone will look into it and will contact me in the next 7-10 business days. Which I am yet to be contacted! I am now out the cost of the original fridge, the repair bill for the not fixable fridge and the new fridge I had to purchase to replace the original as well as countless hours on the phone trying to get to the end of this! This has now been going on for 17 months with no better answers or solutions. Needless to say I will never purchase another LG product or recommend LG to anyone! Buyer BEWARE!

Frosting in the freezer, fan went out first month, then the fan went out in the refrigerator, now the fan is out in the freezer again. All in less than two years. Warranty is not covering the last fan, the warranty from the place who contracted with LG to fix the problems said they would come out and satisfy their warranty if LG will provide the parts. FRUSTRATING!!! Our last refrigerator lasted for 17 years, this one hasnt worked for at least 2 months of the year and a half weve owned it. Paid over $3000.00. Sad.

Well, Im thoroughly disappointed with my Tromm washer and dryer. The latest failure was the last straw. I have now officially paid more for repairs than I paid for the appliances, and they have been banished to the garage, and hopefully Ill find a buyer, but the word must be out about LG, because Ive had no takers. The washer never has cleaned well, and took forever to do that. The technician said to get a top-load domestic brand, so I went to Lowes and purchased the largest top loader with a spindle that GE makes.Im through with LG, and the repairman said Samsung is no better. So, I guess you could say Im through with Korean products. Thank you very much Korea. Isnt it hysterical that the pendulum has finally swung back towards American products being more reliable and well-built? The way it used to be when I was growing up. Heres the really ironic part. When I bought the Tromm, I sold a Kenmore Series 80 pair to a friend for $100.00. She is still using them and has never had to have a repair. I want them back! I guess the joke is on me, but you know what they say: Fool me once...

When I turned all of them on, they ignited without a problem, but the burners kept clicking. So, I checked the caps and when I touched the back one, I received a really good shock. I then unplugged it. I didnt know you could get shocked from a gas stove. Is this a fire hazard? Are there any recalls? Something is really wrong.

When we built a custom home two years ago we thought we researched for the best front load washer available for our laundry room at the time. My wife and I decided that Consumer Report would be the best reference point. DO NOT GET LED DOWN THIS PATH. We purchased the Front Load LG WM8000HVA. After a year our clothes started to smell so we ran some cycles with bleach, then vinegar, then AFFRESH. Nothing helped... NOTHING.Just go online and see thousands of reviews for front load washers. I dont think it is just the LG. I think it is a problem for all front loads. My wife has a great nose and with that comes a lot of complaining. The solution was difficult but easy: I bought a new $1200 LG WT7600KKA yesterday from Best Buys in Louisville, KY. Giving our current front load to charity.

It often takes an entire day to do one load of laundry because this LG top load washer WT4870CW cannot balance itself and vibrates severely and smacks into the wall. Often, when I try to rebalance a load, the load seems to be already balanced, but the machine does not think it is balanced. This HE machine is supposed to save water, but the water constantly runs as the machine tries to balance at the spin at the end of the wash and during the rinse cycle. I have tried to contact LG several times through their online portal and they ignore my requests for service, or send me a video about how to balance the machine (the machine is level). Now going through the calling them phase of trying to get this resolved. I hate this machine and wish I had never bought it. It does not work as intended and LG is falsely advertising this machine as a water saving appliance because the water seems to run the entire wash. Do not buy this machine!!!

Purchased a new LG Steam dryer-DLEX3370W and washer in June 2018. Within 2 months of purchasing the dryer would not come on. Interior light would come on but electronic panel lights would not, so it is a bad board. Called LG for warranty service. Never received another call from them ever. Service repairman came 3+ weeks later with a front panel plastic part, knowing the dryer would not turn on. He threw the part in the box and stated LG sent him the wrong part. I stated I knew he orders parts not LG. LG confirmed this also. Said he would order a board and be back another day. I filed a complaint with him due to him lying about the part along with him not even opening the dryer to diagnose the problem. I have called LG every few days for 3 months now regarding the status. I am told pending. They asked for receipt of the purchase, I uploaded it to my claim. Then 2 weeks later asked for it again, uploaded it. Never in 3 months has anyone from LG called me to let me know the status. They refuse to give anything in writing also. This dryer has a lawsuit against LG due to the stream drawer and a house fire. After 10 weeks we finally purchase a new dryer and expect they would reimburse us due to not being able to find another repair company to come out to our area. They asked me to upload the receipt, I did, along with our Governors state of emergency in our county due to flooding in Texas, I did that also as asked. Today, 11/8/18, I called and spoke with a Supervisor in Executive Services who was not customer friendly, stated the claim had been denied last month! No notification, nothing! I asked for the address to send a small claims notification letter. LG Legal Dept, PO Box 24007, Huntsville, AL 35813. We will be filing a suit not honoring the warranty of a 2 month old dryer. FYI, a lawsuit was filed for a house fire due to the steam drawer.

It was small but it worked. I just always wanted a bigger and better refrigerator. It was too small and I wanted more features on the refrigerator. I wanted things like an ice maker and a water machine. I need a bigger one. I didnt like the color, or how small it was. It didnt have a lot of space for food for my house because I have a big family. It was old and outdated and we needed a more modern look. And a bigger freezer part on the refrigerator. It was just out of place here with my decor and family size. It would be nice to have wider and taller shelves. Well actually it came with the house that I was renting and it did good for a while but I have a big family and we needed more space to store more food. Most of my family has LG refrigerators. We also enjoy the style that LG has that was why we went with them. We like the whole line, so we got the stove, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher. I like the fridges French doors and the way they open up to allow us to access the extra-wide fridge without swinging the door all the way open. Also, it doesn’t take up so much room in the kitchen. LG did a phenomenal job, but I had some issues with the black stainless flaking off. A rep came out to replace the doors, and that was phenomenal. But when they replaced the doors, one side doesn’t shut on its own anymore unless I slam it. I’ve tried calling them back a number of times, but there was no response. That part was disappointing, but the product overall, when it’s set and adjusted right, is phenomenal.

I called LG and they said they would arrange to have a tech. come. I hadnt heard from them after 4 hours so I called back. They said it would take 3-5 days to schedule an appointment. What? So I asked for a list of authorized service companies and had someone at our house the next day. It was determined that I needed a part and that I would have to defrost the entire fridge/freezer. One week later, the tech came back with a new redesigned panel, however our motor was still full of ice, so he installed the new back panel and said to let it sit unplugged for another 12 hours. We left it unplugged for a total of 60+ hours to make certain. We turned it on last night and after about two hours got an ER f error. We called LG and they told us to unplug and restart the refrig. We unplugged again and let it sit overnight. We started it up again this morning and after two hours, same error. I called LG three times this morning because I was disconnected after being put on perma-hold. I wanted them to get a service person here today, but of course, they werent able to do that. Very nice fridge, all the looks and gadgets that we (my wife) wanted. But after 3 years the compressor died and LG was a nightmare to deal with. It took ~5 months of tech visits after it completely died but they never fixed it 100%. Despite the 10 year warranty, they just said sorry and offered me to either (1) deal with it or (2) take a check for half the price I paid for it 3 years earlier and void the remaining warranty. So overall were looking for a new fridge now. My advice is DO NOT buy this fridge unless you also are buying a 5+ year warranty through an independent company (big box store) who will back it up, because LG will not.

Purchased new Instaview French door refrigerator with CustomChill drawer, model LMXS30796D, on December 6, 2019. It was delivered the next day. As I was told by my salesperson that upon delivery I should inspect the refrigerator throughly before the delivery people bring it inside, I made sure two of us monitored the delivery the entire time. We were there from before they unboxed it from right off the to when they left and they did a beautiful job. So when I discovered a six inch scratch along the tom edge of the CustomChill Drawer later that night I was disappointed, but knew it was not as a result of the delivery. They very next day I contacted LG and they opened two case numbers (one was due to the CustomChill drawer sticking when you try to fully open it) and told me I wold be contacted within five business days. They said that in the meantime I could email the purchase receipt, delivery receipt and a photo. As I never received any communication from LG, on the fourth and fifth days I reached out to them again. The fifth day has come and gone and still nothing from LG on either issue. While I love the refrigerator, I am very disappointed in LG customer service. At this point in time I would be very apprehensive about purchasing LG again.

We purchased an LG French Door, bottom freezer and all the other LG matching products in advance of moving into our new home. Refrigerator, Double Oven, Cooktop, Dishwasher and Microwave. This last Fathers Day the refrigerator did a meltdown during the festivities. By the time dinner was over, so was the refrigeration abilities of a 2 year old $2500.00 appliance. We had purchased a 5 year protection plan. We called the Home Depot with all the paperwork, account, model numbers in hand. After the typical automated system trying to get you to do everything on-line we were finally in contact with someone who pretended to be interested. After the painful research in order to verify our warranty, the finger was pointed at LG. During the transfer to LG and pushing all the buttons to get me to the right department, someone eventually picked up the phone and hung up on me. Back to the Home Depot warranty line, wading through their automated phone system and again on line with a human who gave me more information that was neither warranted or needed, told me that LG would have it fixed in 24-48 hours. I was happy for the moment. Finally, again through the automated System and long wait “because of the virus” I got to speak to someone who again had to verify the existence of our warranty. Oh boy, this is how I wanted to spend my life! I explained, the purchase, warranty, model number, code inside the door, yes it was plugged in, yes the light came on, yes the ice maker had no ice, no there was no cold air when I opened the doors and no the water dispenser was not providing cold water. Yes it was really broken.Three days later, an appliance center 50 miles away called in a very non-English speaking voice called me to confirm that I “had a refrigerator LG that is not working and can be repaired” Yes she did say “refrigerator LG”, if I set an appointment and paid for the repair at the time of service and would have to call LG for reimbursement after the repair. This offer and the person didn’t sound like a viable and credible situation. I asked if they were following up on my Home Depot Claim... no answer.I called Home Depot, went through the automated system again and they said to stay away from this offer and wait for LG To call. And they were so interested, they assigned a “case manager” to my claim, oh boy. My “case manager” called, we went through the whole story, again, and she assured us that she was “on the case”.Two days passed, the mysterious appliance repair shop left an automation voice mail, “We can fix your refrigerator if you call us and authorize us to order the parts. The parts will take about a week to arrive. We can then set up a service appointment”. We called our “case manager” went though another automated system asking us if we would rather find what we wanted “on-line” waited and finally got a real person. Asked for Ashley to which we got silence and “do you know what department she’s in?” More time another explanation of the story and then finally Ashley’s phone rang, and rang and rang and then Ashley’s electronic explanation of how to use the Internet to get answers and how to leave a message for her and she would call right back. She did, seven hours later. She then came to the realization that we had lost all of our food, drinks, and no refrigerator at all! For the last six days. It’s Friday night, but before she goes home for the weekend she’s going to “send an email to our local Home Depot to see if they can let us borrow a refrigerator on Monday” Assuming that we can easily do without a refrigerator til then. I asked if this week long period was typical of the wait for service? She said “unfortunately this isn’t very long at all, it may take weeks”. Tomorrow, Sunday, will mark the seventh day of eating out, buying bags of ice for the milk and juices and regretting we were so naive to spend more money on a warranty, and NOT to go through the product reviews posted by others.

I had an LG washer for about three and half years. The washer stopped spinning. I called LG for the 10-year warranty and was told that a technician would come out and check the washer. I was told it would be around $100 to diagnose the problem. I told LG that the motor was slipping, it should be covered under their 10-year warranty. They said I would still have to pay a technician to come out to tell me what I already knew. I argued with them many times about the problem. I even asked them to send someone out for a courtesy call; they would not . They finally gave me the number for Parts. They found the part for the motor rotor assembly. They opened the back of the washer, undid the mounting bolt, removed the rotor, and sure enough, the rotor assembly gear was made of cheap plastic. It was strange because the new one with a metal center was stripped out. This not only should be covered by the warranty, but also, a defective product should be covered by the company. The whole job of replacing this part was about 15 minutes and $75 in parts. I have photos of the part being removed with its stripped center and the new one being installed.

Purchased an LG side by side model #LFXC24726S several years ago (2015?). The compressor went out and after reading the angry reviews on this site, I feared the worst. I called up LG, and after about 10 minutes they had scheduled a repairman to fix the fridge in two days. LG overnighted the replacement part and paid for the repair. The fridge is now humming along and everyone is happy. Thank you LG for the excellent service!

The sour smell. I have run hot water runs in it but it still makes your cloths stink. The money we spent on towels and clothing. You have to buy them every 3 month. But I see I have the same problem as every one else. So what can we do about it? I want some help!

We have already had the dishwashers front panel replaced once because of mysterious stains that appeared (off white/greyish color) and now it is happening again. The shape of the stains are very odd and could not be splatter or drips. Is anyone else having this problem? I believe the stains are coming from within the door.... While trying to get a pic of stains, I just noticed my dishwasher leaks too!

I have a top loading Waveforce model. Im one of the few lucky owners in that my machine has worked - sort of - without the recurring problems of broken parts, leakage, and poor customer service mentioned above. That said, the problem with this dog is that its supposed to weigh the clothes and dispense a volume of water based on that weight. Unfortunately it ALWAYS grossly underestimates the amount of water needed with the result that much of the load sits above the water line (exposed to the air) for the duration of the wash cycle and doesnt get cleaned very well. This holds true for any size load, from light to heavy. The only setting Ive found that dispenses enough water to adequately wash any size load is Bulky Bedding, which dispenses quite a bit of water regardless of the size of the load. The problem is, if you only need to wash a few items and you want them to actually get washed, you still have to use this setting with the result being that you end up with much more water than you need to get the job done. This will be the last high tech appliance of any kind I will buy from any company, especially LG, because all of these companies massively overcharge for bells and whistles that never work as advertised. Same principle holds true for the LG dryer. It (and my previous Bosch dryer) claims to have a sensor that detects moisture IN THE DRUM, which in turn controls when the dryer turns off. Problem is, it almost always underestimates the amount of moisture IN THE CLOTHING ITSELF with the result that the load doesnt always dry properly. From here on out every appliance I purchase will be basic, low tech appliances that do a better job for a fraction of the cost of the bells and whistles versions.

LG double door refrigerator - I had bought this 2 years back and from last September There is a problem with the cooling... ice formation in deep freezer and no cooling in the lower fridge door. It has been an harassment of sorts... different mechanics and experiments and still the same problem continues. Its even worse as its unattended despite innumerable calls to the customer care and the local customer manager doesnt answer. Planning to boycott LG.

LG Wave Washer and Dryer (Granite) - This is the second time the drum in the dryer has come loose. The first time because we left a review, LG repaired the issue only for it to happen again. My husband is a Quality Engineer and deals with these things all the time. This dryer should have been recalled and the washer is rusted really bad. This set cost me a lot of money and the dryer is now too dangerous to use because there is a huge hole in the drum and you could cut yourself. It was beautiful to look at but does not work well. All my clothes and sheets tangle... So frustrated.

We bought a home that had a completely remodeled kitchen with a brand new LG LRFD25850ST refrigerator (French door style, with freezer below). It is a beautiful LOOKING appliance. The ice maker works. Thats the only nice thing I can say about it. When you open the doors, in just a few seconds it starts beeping the open door alarm. This is not a defect. It is designed that way. The problem is that the time before the alarm goes off is not settable, and it comes on so soon that you cannot possibly put groceries away before if relentlessly goes off. In fact, its darn hard to even get things OUT of the fridge without it going off.Everything plastic on the inside of this fridge is made of a cheap, brittle grade of plastic. The produce bin doors and wide lower drawer have all cracked and broken multiple times in multiple places. The front support plastic edge on the lower shelf cracked in several places and started to sag. Some PVC plastic pipe cement and my own supplies of plastic to reinforce it have kept it in shape, but most people will not be able to make repairs like this and they will end up with the cover doors drawers all broken and coming apart. One day it just started accumulating a big thick sheet of ice in the bottom of the freezer. After months of just chipping it out of there in big chunks before it started to melt at the front edge and run water all over the floor (which it did multiple times), we went away for a week, so we took out all the food and shut the thing off. After 5 days of being off and completely dethawing, it stopped creating that ice sheet. I assume the defrost draining tube was blocked somewhere.Temperature distribution throughout the fridge is very unpredictable. Sometimes the ice cream is soft, sometimes hard as a rock, sometimes the milk is too warm while other things in the fridge annoyingly freeze hard as a rock, or vice versa. The light bulb compartment cracks and deforms. The cover is very hard to get off, and the bulbs are very hard to unscrew. I dont know how a simple thing like a light socket can be made poorly, but these are. And cover has melted and deformed from the bulb heat (and we are not using incorrect lamps. They are 15w small appliance bulbs).

Consumers beware when purchasing an LG appliance! If you are remotely mechanically inclined and prefer to save money and repair things yourself, LG is not the manufacturer for you. A little over a year ago LG decided that they will not sell replacement parts to the general public forcing you to call an authorized service center to come to your house at your expense to repair your appliance no matter how small or simple a fix.Recently I needed to replace an $8 tumbler roller on our LG Tromm dryer that had worn and was making noise. It is about a 30 minute fix and requires a screwdriver and two wrenches. LG Canada nor any of its authorized service centers would sell me the part even though I had already removed it and was ready to install a new one. The parts are sold in the USA but every company that sells the part will not ship to Canada. My only options are to either bend to these unfair practices by LG or junk the dryer and buy a new one - albeit a different brand!

To whom it may concern, I am very disappoint of your service for my refrigerator. My refrigerator is not cooling since 05/20/2019. The technician came out 5 times and fixed for 3 times. The last fixing was last for a week and it was not cooling on July 4 of 2019. I had 18 people in my home on that day and we had to trash a lot of food. There is another technician comes out tomorrow to take a look at my refrigerator, I have 2 young children who need food and milk. This is very frustrated for them because they keep asking when my refrigerator is fixed so they can have some food as before. When I talked to customer service she said that 3 times are the last chance if it does not work, they will replace or refund me money so I can have a new refrigerator. This is not true because LG still wants to come out and look at it again. The schedule is really taking so long (7 days or 10 days ahead). Another customer service told me that the policy is fixing from 1-2 weeks. However, it is almost 2 months for this. Therefore, this is also a problem and I dont know what is your policy. You can just keep doing this and do not care about the customer as for how long this has been going on. I can tell you that we will not buy any LG product in the future because of your service likes this. I have told my co-works, friends and my relatives regarding of your service.

Refrigerator started making horrible noise on July 3, 2016. Model LMX25964 purchased Nov. 22, 2010. Woke up July 4 no ice and all freezer contents thawing out. Could not call for any help until Tuesday July 5, technician came out on July 7 to tell me my French doors refrigerator had a seal system problem was under warranty and he was not an LG-certified technician. By the way while checking out the refrigerator he did tell me the LG is one of the worst refrigerators, all plastic and lots of mechanical problems, that is why he would not become an authorized LG technician.Called LG, got someone I could not even understand, finally got a certified technician phone number called and he comes tomorrow, he will probably need to order parts so thats more to time. Customer service stinks as well as the refrigerator. I will never ever buy an LG item again. I did lose all my food, around 250.00 and the company acted like I was out of my mind for asking. The supervisor said our warranty ran out after 12 months. I advised her that the problem that caused my problem was under warranty and she flat out said, We do not reimburse. I hate them.

On November of 2011 I bought a top load LG washer, model WT5001CW. It worked great until a few months ago when the bleach dispenser area has begun to rot. It is so bad that the entire area where the bleach goes has come off the hinges and is just dangling off the base. When I contacted LG, I was told that the warranty did not cover cosmetic issues. When I asked to speak with a manager and explain that this more than a cosmetic issue, this is a manufactured defect! I was told that my case would be reviewed and they would get back with as soon as they made a decision. Two months later, I am yet to hear from them. This company needs to take responsibility for the manufacturing of their products.

The knobs on the LG gas range will turn on just by reaching over the stove
The knobs on the LG gas range will turn on just by reaching over the stove to get something and turning to walk away. They turn past lite and fill your house with gas. You barely touch them and they do this. This is very dangerous. I have come home 3 times in the last year with my house filled with gas. My elderly mother took a pan off the stove to wash it and then went to the living room not noticing the smell. I came home and nearly passed out when I walked to the kitchen. I see that there are many reviews with this same issue. I have called LG and they keep trying to send a technician. I have explained its not a technical issue. Is a very poor design. They will have their safety team call me within 24 hours. I think something needs done about this. People are or probably already have been killed. They certainly have to be aware of this with all the reviews I have read. Next step is to go to the News and do a demonstration so people will be aware and not purchase from this company. Like I said it has happened 3 times in my home and its dangerous. Please do not buy LG gas ranges.

Design flaw in LG gas burner knob - Seriously, some lawyer needs to file a national class action complaint. This stove is not “fit for its intended purpose,” which is a violation of the nationwide Uniform Commercial Code. As many other commenters have expressed, it’s a death trap. I cannot count how many times I’ve discovered the burner on and flowing gas—when I did not knowingly turn it on. It is unconscionable for LG not to fix this. Please, will some class action lawyer step up?!

Hi! I love my LG refrigerator! It is the best refrigerator I have ever owned! The temperature in the whole refrigerator is pretty much consistent. The drawers are a nice size. Easy to find things. The freezer makes ice cubes well. The setup inside the freezer area is nice. The overall look of the refrigerator is nice! I have the French doors and many years later, the doors still line up well!! The stainless appearance is a nice color and has held up nicely! And never had anything wrong or to be fixed.

Our LG fridge is about 5 years old and it has died. I can understand that things can go wrong but the customer service at LG is terrible. They are extremely rude! We have had to take two days off work and it still isnt fixed. We were told the freon leaked out and the company had to address this problem. We spoke to several people at customer service and they were nasty. We have been without a fridge for two weeks and there is no end in sight. We are starting from scratch and have to be home between 10-2 tomorrow for a second service person to come out. They arent going to fix it! Just look at it! So we will likely have to take a third day off work if we are lucky enough to get anyone out to actually fix it. My husband was just recently diagnosed with cancer. The tumor is causing lots of pain. Ice packs help a bit but of course we have no way to keep them cold. This has been a real hardship! I would never buy another LG product. They have no respect for their customers and do not stand behind their products.
