We purchased our LG side-by-side refrigerator four years ago. From the start, we had problems with the ice maker auger freezing solid. We had the ice maker or some components of it replaced twice, under warranty, but not without several bumbled service visits - wrong parts, wrong initial diagnosis, etc. Now the freezer door seal has lost its suction. I see from todays research, this is not uncommon. We should have done more research, but we were desperate, since our old fridge had just died so we bought what was immediately available. Dont make the same mistake!

My LG refrigerator is less than 4 years old. Over the last 4 months, ice has been forming on the walls of the freezer. In May, the freezer was making a humming noise. I have a maintenance agreement with an outside company for all my appliances and home. I called them. They said the main board is no good and I would have to pay the deductible for the part. I called LG and asked if they would cover the part. I was approved, but then they kept changing the rules. One rep said they would send it out to me. Then the next time I called, they said I would have to use their company for repair which would cost me $250. When I got the manager (who was so rude and could not care less), said she would send it directly to my maintenance company. Then the next time I called to see if the part was sent out, she said the maintenance company would have to call for the part. When I told her the company wont do that because LG wants them to insure the part, LG said there was nothing they can do. Their customer service is awful. How can the main board on the refrigerator go in less than 4 years? Their products are junk. I will now have to pay for the part I was approved for. What a horrible company. Never buy LG products!

The worst item EVER that Ive bought in my entire life. Ive had a lot of amazing dishwashers over the years from cheap on up. This ones a nightmare. From Day 1 there were issues with LG. Plates dont stack. They immediately fall over (like dominoes). The cutlery holder malfunctioned almost immediately. It no longer locks together to hold the utensil basket in place. This results in the far end basket (one of 4) tipping over into the unit from the weight. The top rack organizing glasses, bowls or cups. Again items continually fall over. I (originally) thought adjustable times on both the top and bottom rack was a smart idea. Im sure it looked good on paper but its a complete and total failure. Nothing is secure. Nothing is reliable. Does LG even bother to test the equipment they build? From the bottom of my heart...if you see this dishwasher for sale please just run away as fast as you can!

Well this is the third time a service person has been out. When I called about the UE the first time I was told it was out of balance. I assured the person that it was doing this even with only 3 pieces of clothing in the machine and that the machine was balanced and checked with a level. So they send someone out to look at it and say it needs a computer part. Great parts ordered and problem solved. Wrong!!! Needless to say not very long after we end up having an issue that the UE goes on then the machine starts to go back to 20 minutes when there was only 5 minutes left. It does this 6 times and 2 hours later still messing with it, I call for service again. Well, again we need another part. Now a few months later, which brings us to this month July 2016 we have UE and the washer is now turning its lights on like it is going to start up without having any laundry in it and nobody being in the room. If it does successfully get a load done it will not turn the lights off. Service out again and another order for more parts. Gee, you would think LG would want to keep up good business practices and recall the washers. If a business backs its mistakes, it makes you want to purchase their brand again but if they dont then you run far away and tell anyone that will listen. My electric is sky high to begin with because it is Toledo Edison and now with the washer issues it is even worse. Nobody should have to wait 2 hours on a quick wash. I personally will not buy LG anymore and will make sure to tell people when I see them in stores shopping for washers to find another brand.

We bought a refrigerator three years ago. Just now, the compressor went out so I called the company and they told me that it was covered under the warranty. However, they did not tell me that I had to pay for all the other parts, such as freon, etc., to get it running again. As a result, I have to pay over $400 out of pocket to fix this side by side stainless steal fridge, along with the $100 worth of food that I had to throw away! I expect much better service when I paid that much money for a product! I will never buy LG products again!

Ice maker shut off, water valve leaked after the fridge was taken by the repairman and ruined our kitchen floor, and leaked through to basement ceiling and damaged that as well... We were gone for 3 days. Add to that the food that spoiled when the compressor went toes up, and we have learned a very, very expensive lesson about LG refrigerators, and from the comments here, we are not alone. Repairman indicated ours was the 26th compressor failure he has had this year.

Over the past month I have experienced nothing but frustration and disappointment from LG customer service. I have been given inaccurate information, been repeatedly told to expect a call back or email about service status, but the only communication I have had with LG is when I have initiated contact. Please note that because I have two children, one of whom is still out of school because of the pandemic, the only times I can call when the 800 number is operating is on W and F when I am commuting to/from onsite days at my job. Below is a detailed timeline of my experience:Th 4/15. Dryer breaks during run. Test fuse, power line, reset per manufacturer’s instructions. Fr 4/16. Submit ticket through LG website describing problem. Sa 4/17. Receive email response from website instructing me to do the troubleshooting I had already completed prior to submitting ticket to website. Call LG 800 number to request repair. Told that I would hear back within 24-48h about getting an LG service technician. Tu 4/20. Call LG because I received no call back. Am informed that they could not find a local technician, and my request was being escalated to the regional services team. Fr 4/23. Call LG for a status update. Rep informs me that they have 5 business days to find local authorized technician, but that if they cannot within 5 days, I can get a replacement authorization. W 4/28. Call LG again, to request replacement authorization. Am told I need to wait an additional 48h for update.F 4/30. Call for status update. Rep tells me that information I received on 4/23 about replacement is incorrect, and that regional services is still looking for repair. Request transfer to executive services. Call gets cutoff partway through. Attempt to call back, but service line is closed for the day. Particularly disappointed that the executive services person I was speaking with did not call me back, because the first thing he asked for was my phone number, in case we got disconnected.W 5/5. Call LG; request immediate transfer to executive services. Rep curtly informs me that they have hundreds of thousands of technicians, just none in our area. Furthermore, that LG has 30 days from my initial call to locate repair services, so I am not yet entitled to a replacement dryer. However, she does provide me with contact info for an authorized service provider in American Canyon. I contact said service provider, Linet Electronics. Technician at Linet tells me that yes, they do service our model of dryer, and they do service our town (35 miles away), and yes he does have availability. He advises against booking him directly for warranty repairs, because then I will need to work request reimbursement from LG for the repair.W 5/12. Call LG; request they contract with Linet Electronics to service our dryer. I provide phone number, but the rep insists that I need to provide email and postal address, too. They should have this information, since I got the phone number from their authorized service system, which is infuriating. I call back once I have the email and post address. The new rep calls Linet, but Linet wants an extra $225 to do the service call, and so LG will not authorize service (this strikes me as absurd, since replacing the unit outright, or providing me a refund, will undoubtedly cost more than the service call with a surcharge). I am told that regional service has 2 chances to find someone in our area before we qualify for replacement, but apparently hasn’t done anything since my first escalation on 4/20 (15 business days ago). Rep promises that I will get a call back within 24-48h about warranty replacement. I tell him I am highly doubtful about that, since I have not received any updates, by phone or email, at any point so far. That my only contact with LG has been contact that I initiated. Th 5/13. Much to my surprise, Jacob, the rep I spoke with on 5/12, calls me back to let me know there has been no action on my replacement request yet. He promises to call me back in 24h. F 5/14. No call back from Jacob. Monday will be 30 days since my dryer broke. I will call LG and demand they send a replacement dryer, though I am not confident they will honor their warranty obligations at this point.

The temperature dropped significantly and the freezer no longer kept food frozen. I was informed after placing a service call that the compressor ceased to work and other updates were needed to the refrigerator. One year later in July 2019 the freezer and refrigerator are again working insufficiently. I have lost a ridiculous amount of food in both the freezer and refrigerator. I am again using a cooler, buying ice frequently. I contacted the LG customer service department this past Sunday July 21, 2019 to inform staff of a malfunctioning refrigerator and to complain that this was the second incident in three years. I was given an appointment for July 25, 2019. My husband took the day off of work in order to receive the repairman. After no one showed, my husband contacted LG customer service department and was informed that the appointment had been canceled. We did not cancel the appointment. LG customer service informed us after some time that A& E Factory Service, their contractor, canceled the appointment and did not inform LG nor did they inform us of the cancellation. Eventually my husband was given an appointment for August 5th 2019, two-weeks from the originally scheduled appointment. He explained the challenges in retaining food, money lost, and that we have a five year old daughter who had clumpy milk that had to be discarded... the next available appointment was moved to August 1, 2019. I phoned yesterday, July 25, 2019 explained the above and inquired about the earliest available appointment. After being on the phone for twenty minutes I was informed that the earliest possible appointment is still August 1, 2019 however it is not confirmed, therefore I do not have a concrete appointment as of yet. I was told that someone will call us to confirm the actual August 1, 2019 appointment next week. I am very disappointed. I am very dissatisfied. We called our home warranty company, after two visits it was determined it had to be repaired by a certified LG technician. In speaking with LG to set that up, there is only one certified technician in the area. Called them twice to set up an appointment, they never returned the call. In addition, the compressor and all the moving parts are covered by a 7 or 10 year warranty depending on what it is. LG tried to sell me another one-year warranty for $475.00. Searched the reviews on the fridge we have, all of them stated problems with service (i.e., taking off of work to meet the repairman multiple times) only to have the fridge do the same thing within a six month period.Long story short - we went and bought a Whirlpool (made in the USA). BUYER BEWARE, stay away from LG. It does not stand for Life is Good - it stands for Lotsa Grief! I will never buy an LG product of any type - their customer service is beyond awful, their products are not top quality even though you pay a wheelbarrow full of money for them. Before we bought another fridge we called a repairman that we used before for another appliance and asked him what to stay away from - he said LG, Samsung and GE. I wish I had that information before we bought the nightmare that is sitting my kitchen which will be replaced on Saturday.

As others have written, you barely bump or lean up against the knobs on the front and they turn on. Even the dog can turn them on. We have truly returned home to find the burner red hot, luckily, we keep it cleared off, but we just bought a home and remodeled and I really don’t want the house to burn down. I have had to go through 2 sets of childproof knob protectors to help prevent this.

If you open the oven door the light will flash on and off. Control buttons dont work until the oven cools down. LG phone tech said I had a power failure. I did not. LG repair guy that came to my house claims it is the power board allowing too much something or other to come through which is causing it to shut down. Hoping he is right and unhappy that I have to pay a repair bill for something in a new appliance.

My 65 inch is the largest in my living room so I have a variety of sizes and she’s never once have I had to have them fixed. My newest one is 4 years old now almost 5. We purchased an LG washer. I love the fact that without the middle paddle you can wash large items like king size spreads and comforters and all the clothes actually are treated more gently. I do not like buying new if the old is still working. Being able to get parts and having really good people who can and will work to keep the old model going. Regular repairs is a nightmare. Been there and done that, days without your appliance and you have to wash most days to keep the family in clean clothes and towels etc. Also low quality construction, which usually means noise pollution and the appliance walking all over the floor or pulling loose from the connections and the room being flooded. This LG washer that I bought was the same price as for the Maytag that I had purchased 20 years before. It is high quality construction, stays where it is supposed to when it spins. Large size drum that washes very small loads with much less soap and water, or very large items like winter coats, king size bedding, comforters, etc. One thing I do not like is that everything rinses in cold water no matter which setting you use, and I like to be able to decide what temperature I want for the wash cycle and the temperature I want for the rinse. But all in all, that is the only thing I do not like about these computer controlled washers.

The housing around the ice and water dispenser turned yellow in about 2 years. This is unacceptable on a white refrigerator in an all-white kitchen. After getting rejected by the LG customer service, I filed a complaint with the BBB (case #**) and after their mediation, it was rejected by LG again for the same reasons that Darelyn received, That they do not warranty cosmetic damage. I wonder if they ran that by their marketing team as this is what sells these models. I am trying to start a class action suit against LG on this obvious defect in material used. Anyone wants to join?

They said $125 to come in to give estimate. The technician showed up, did nothing and gave an estimate of $1528 plus tax. He wrote down on paper and excuse me if I am spelling wrong. Tub assembly beaming $856.00. PCB/Main - $422.00. Labor - $250.00. Total cost with tax is $1628.00. I should have trusted the reviews and purchased new dryer rather setting up the appointment to lose $125.00. Luckily I realized after seeing the reviews and didnt go for service. I am purchasing new dryer with cost of $750.00 which includes tax, delivery and installation. The bottom line is dont buy LG products and no local service company will fix it either. You have to call LG and they rob you.

I was told to keep the door open, but with animals and children here, this is impossible to do. The smell of mold is not pleasant. In 2010, I began to have electronic issues with the machine flashing the code le. I had 3 service calls for this problem (August, September, and December of 2010). The service tech would check the machine and circuit board for each call. This cost me $68.50 per visit. The same electronic issue code, le, began again in 2011. I have had 2 service calls (March and December). The same fix it job checked the circuit board. Again, the cost was $68.50 per visit. Now, in 2012, I have had 2 more service calls (February and March) for the same electronic issue, which cost me $68.50 and $119.00 respectively, for labor fees, to have the service tech do a full load of laundry! I was told that I needed to put heavier loads of laundry? After the tech left, I did a heavy load of laundry, and the machine again flashed the same electronic code, le! I have another service call tomorrow. They will now replace the circuit board (for around $300.00), but they told me that it might be another problem, like the motor. The total cost is around $461.50. LG does not produce good products. My advice to anyone looking at this brand is the old saying, buyers, beware!”. Shop for another brand!

I bought this washer from Conns 2 years ago along with the matching dryer. I bought it on the recommendation of my nephew who had the set. I guess he never used it otherwise he wouldnt have recommended it to me or 2 of my sisters or he flat out hates us. My 2 sisters have already sold off the washer for cheap on craigslist and bought GE products; I will be doing it the same thing soon.This POS gets off balance even when during a Tub Clean which is done when the washer is empty. It can take hours to complete a load as you have to babysit it to make sure you wont get the UE code; when that happens it will fill the washer with water and try again, over and over. When I can get a load to go through a cycle completely without an error code I feel like I have won a prize. I do know that the best way to get a load to complete is to fill that sucker up! Small loads will continually go off balance until you reach the breaking point of pulling out most of the wet load and spinning it out by sections. Ive done this too many times to count but I wont wash baby clothes with the regular laundry.Oh yeah, when the machine had to refill and refill with water, the detergent and softener dispensers get filled with water even after the load has completed so when you go to do another load and pour the product in, it releases into the load immediately as its full of water. I now have to check that the drawer is empty before adding in the detergent, if not then I have to shake and open and shut the drawer rapidly to clear out the excess water.If you have small children be aware that they can climb in the drum and if they have accidentally turned it on and closed the lid, they are going for a ride! My 7 year old daughter and her friend did this to scare me only it backfired on them, the machine started despite the fact I had the child lock enabled. The lid would not open even after being unplugged, the mechanism jammed. We had to break the lid to get the girls out before they suffocated. Needless to say they were the ones scared beyond belief and mostly unhurt except some scratches and bruises. The drum is HUGE, 2 kids fit in there along with half a load of laundry! LG replaced the lid and said they would work on the child lock aspect and get back to me but I havent heard a thing from them.I dont think it cleans well either, Ive pulled out crib sheets and they still have spit up on them which is gross. Because of the way the drum agitates, items usually end up balled up or tangled together so not everything gets cleaned. On every load I usually set it to the soak cycle so I know everything is getting wet; when I forget is when I find stains that should have come out. Buy any other brand than this one, Im buying a GE even though they are loud machines. This is a quiet machine, you dont even notice that its refilled the washer in the rinse cycle for the past four hours straight as the UE signal doesnt always come on.

None of them had a bad cheap finish as this new one. What kind of horrible finish is this? When we get a glass of water and some water leaks down on the finish, you can see it and it doesnt come off. We have tried all sorts of products made for stainless finishes. Nothing seems to work. If you have a nice kitchen and you want some appliances that look good and clean, never buy one that has this finish. It makes our kitchen look unkept. The appliance is good except for the finish. And I see this and am saddened that they make a good product, and put a cheap finish on the appliance. I have extended warranty, but the warranty doesnt cover a bad finish.

The labelling on the knobs wrinkled due to the heat from the oven, and there was another problem that I dont recall now. After contacting a local appliance store and getting a referral for replacement parts available at a substantial cost, we contacted LG directly. They were very helpful and sent a new set of replacement knobs free of charge. Since there were a number of similar complaints posted at that time, I wanted to post this as a possible solution to the problem, even though my posting is long after the problem was solved.

And Im so very glad that I did, because my experience with LG has been nothing short of wonderful so far. Spacious freezer, sleek design, compact, portable and ease of use is off the charts. Indeed, most of the features are satisfactory and I can think of few, if any, that arent. Though the bottom shelves are somewhat small for my liking. Theres too little room to store all of the cheeses, cold cuts, etc. That we consume as a family. But thats obviously a very small inconvenience.

My issue with it is that I feel it has more control over me than I do over it. It uses less water and does not saturate the items and because it uses less water, when you add chlorine bleach it leave chlorine fade marks on white wash as well as a darker wash. This has happened many times and a lot of my items were ruined. I do not believe that Consumer Reports tested this issue on clothing. I have also had to rewash my clothing because the dirt just didnt come out. I currently have sent LG an email with regard to this issue. Today, I just purchased a Kenmore with an agitator and it has a water level that I can choose. Although it is 3.6 cf as opposed to 4.3 cf. submitted by serial number. CHLORINE BLEACH DISPERSEMENT AND WATER LEVEL IS THE ISSUE. I have gotten unbalance codes but machine works and is quiet but I want my laundry clean.

Every time I had a little food that didnt taste right, I threw it out. There were so many times my ranch salad dressing tasted so sour, but I ate some and served it. But then I replaced it. I and my guests are lucky we werent poisoned, though I have had some minor stomach bouts. And now think I know why.I have suffered with a horrible refrigerator from LG for almost 5 years. I purchased an extended warranty (worthless) from Assurant. It has malfunctioned since day 1. I made a few calls early on and gave up...Due to personal circumstances recently (divorce and unemployment), I needed to have my refrigerator working for my future sustenance. So before the warranty ran out, I started on this ridiculous journey of trying to get it fixed. It has turned into a nightmare. The technician that came out told us it was probably because of the vibrations from the washer which the dryer was stacked on top of. The salesperson at Home Depot, who sold us the stacking package, never indicated that this could create a problem. Lucky for us that when I called LG, they agreed to extend our warranty enough to cover the bad circuit board. They would not refund the $85 I spent having a technician come to my house to diagnose the original problem. I have read a lot of complaints about LG washers and dryers and I cannot believe that no consumer groups or the consumer protection agency of our government have not jumped all over this. A dryer used under normal conditions should work for years without any of the types of major problems that are being noted all over the internet. I, for one, will never buy an appliance from Best Buy nor another LG appliance.

The first available appointment is for Monday, 7/1.We will be without a refrigerator for 5 days in the middle of a Texas summer, provided the issue is fixable. However, as the same issue has already been fixed twice, Im not confident that this will be a lasting solution. We spent $2800 on a refrigerator that has completely stopped functioning 3 times in 4 years. We were also informed yesterday that we may need to pay for the repairs, if they determine it is not a warranty item. We will never buy another LG appliance again.

I thought it was just my husband being an idiot as he was rushing out of the house making a Jambalaya for the Giants’ pregame tailgate. However, it turns out he wasnt making it up.... It was hot for a long time and would not turn off. HS, hot surface, was the code but the burner was glowing bright red as if it were on HIGH. Took forever to clean that pan. My Le Creuset no less. Then after that, the oven started burning everything and cooking things funny. Burnt on the outside and mushy, undercooked on the inside. Last night, I tried again to use oven.... F-9 error came up. I turned it on and off. Yes, that was my solution in the moment. Now I see that the ovens with that specific warning are a SERIOUS FIRE HAZARD. The ovens catch fire from the malfunctions according to other reviewers. This is shocking and a real issue. I have 3 kids. Honestly, I cant believe Home Depot carries LG after reading all these other accounts of LG breaking down & just not working.So, no holiday cookies or turkey this holiday season b/c my oven that is LESS than 4 years old malfunctioned & is a piece of crap!!!!!!! No food memories with my kids that you daydream about, look forward to with holidays approaching. Nope! Hopes and dreams dashed by LG. And forget about getting a repairperson to come to work on LG. I called several places in the area, and they practically hung up on me when I said I had an LG. As the previous reviewers noted, repair must be done by certified LG contractor.Finally had Ultra Wiz (recommended through LG consumer support) came to take care of the LG dishwasher, which I stupidly bought not realizing LG sucks. The LG dishwasher is quite possibly the worst dishwasher I have ever had. Pretty much had problems with it after 6 months. Within 18 months now, I have had the dishwasher serviced 3x. Ridiculous. As I write this, I am on hold with LG begging for a refund for the stove but that will probably only happen when hell freezes over. Nope, as usual... They say I have to pay for repair and then my case will be presented for evaluation by said mystery higher up. So, I have to spend more money on junky LG product to even get consideration for a refund.... I would take half of what I spent on the stove at this point and put it towards a product that actually works.The only reason I am not stark raving mad is b/c we are about to renovate our current kitchen, and I am getting new appliances anyway. BUT STILL LG is horrid. Never again will I recommend, let alone, buy another single LG product. NEVER. I wish we could ban together and sue LG. Btw, the CEO Bon-Joon Koo is worth 840 million! So 4 repairs and it is still not working, in fact it is ON but NOT WORKING! LG will do NOTHING like this has never happened before??? So after spending $950 for repairs and $3300 for the fridge in (Oct 2013) we have a piece of junk!

After 18 mos the water dispenser stopped working and we were told it was not repairable. We kept using the ice maker but it began to lock up due to ice build up with every filling. We battled that for six months and decided to just turn the water off to the unit. So far all is good but the process took over 2 months to resolve. Lowes was NO help at all. Now the washer... it smells like rotten eggs after a couple of washes, we need to run tub clean every 2-3 days to keep smell away.1500.00 and we have a washer that has all the fancy bells and whistles but cant do a basic wash load without special care. Even following all the instructions for keeping lid open and not leaving clothes in washer nothing changes the smell after a couple of days. LG CS is terrible, Lowes CS is terrible. LG products are a nightmare, never again. Bought 3 yr extended warranty and they were just words and excuses. Seems this is a design flaw that should have been fixed but I guess the consumer will just deal with the bad product design.

After checking, he said that he couldnt fix it.. There was a leak somewhere inside, but he couldnt find it. He contacted the repair center and said they would fix it. There was no contact even after waiting.When I called the customer center, they said that I had to talk to a repairman at the site, and that he would send the repairman again. And 10 days later, I finally got the case number... When I called the customer service center a few days later, I used it for almost 3 years, so I subtracted what I used and gave a refund. I got a 20% discount, so I couldnt buy the same refrigerator with that money, so I asked for a full refund if I would give it a refund. He said there was no such thing in company regulations. I would use the refrigerator for more than 10 years if it wasnt broken. What does it mean for you to make such a product, and the consumer will suffer the loss?? They tell me to clean up the broken refrigerator. Its not in company rules... Your company lost more customers because of me.

If I want anything really clean, I have to go to bulky to get enough water to make any soap suds. Most of the time, I can see the blue soap color on some of the clothes.. Have 4 kids, can barely afford to buy food and make it last. Now Im throwing it away and cant get help. Why would a Refrigerator stop working only after 2 1/2 years? Poor manufacturing. After checking internet blogs and complaints, found out thousands of customers have had the same problems, have been reported it, and have gotten no help, have to pay out of pocket and have someone come in and diagnose the problem then order the part directly through LG. The company should be ashamed of its self for not resolving a problem like this when families buy their products because of past reputation of being reliable - $1200.00 paid and only lasted 2.5years. Now will cost me between $200.-300.00 for the repair. I will never recommend or purchase another LG product again. Thats why they only warranty their products for 1yr only. For a purchase this big and important storing food and knowing all families and people in general have the use for this item, they would have more integrity.

On August 21st my refrigerator failed and I called to schedule service. The agent on the phone asked me a few questions and confirmed that it was a sealed system issue. The next available service was Sept 5. I live in a large city so it should not be this difficult to get service. The next day I spoke to the local LG servicer. After I explained that the sealed system has failed 3 other times they told me they could not service the refrigerator since they did not do the prior work. They went on to say that it was LGs policy to replace a refrigerator on the 4th sealed system issue.On Aug 22, I finally I spoke to someone in LG Consumer Relations and was told that my refrigerator qualifies for a buy back. The last sealed system issue was less than a year ago and I could request a buy back. I was told It would take 3-4 days for the final dollar amount to be determined and another 4 weeks to receive a check. As requested I sent in my Proof of Purchase using the web link emailed to me. On Aug 24th I called LG service for an update and was told I had not sent my Proof of Purchase, I sent it a second time and verified that it was received. Again I was told 3-4 days to receive the final offer details. I called today, Aug 30th, and was transferred 4 times. I am now told that someone had not followed through on the case and it would be another 3-4 working days before a decision would be made. What recourse do I have?

Other refrigerators that Ive seen have the ice maker taking up all of the door space. I love that I can change the shelves inside of the refrigerator and the door in a door function is just amazing. The refrigerator drawer is an amazing feature and we use that for everything from wine and pop to lunchmeat and cheese. The freezer drawer is also an easy to use part of this refrigerator, I was amazed at how easy it is to make the most of that space. All in all this is the best refrigerator we have ever owned. Everything is spacious & easily accessible, its a good looking appliance and we get many compliments on it. I was able to get it at an amazing price too, using a coupon during a good sale.

I kept the old knobs in use (using extreme caution) until the renovation of my kitchen was completed. Once the new kitchen was completed I exchanged the knobs with the new ones. Guess what? My wife use the oven today to bake and the new knobs started to peel and crack. The stove top and knobs are cleaned every day after use. They were fine yesterday! Its been just 45 days since I replaced them. They are true CRAP! It seems the oven builds up too much heat and that is when it happens. Not only that but there is also a burning smell when this occurs. Well, fortunately I purchased extended protection plans for every LG appliance I purchased from Home Depot. I will be on the phone with them bright and early tomorrow and see what they are going to do. At this point after reading all the complaints about the knob problem I will never ever purchase another LG appliance again nor will I recommend it to anyone either.

Prior, 3 months after purchasing this unit, we experienced a loud rattling noise which was caused by a fan hitting a build-up of ice on the compressor lines. After multiple tech visits, replacing several items, the entire board or CPU for the unit was replaced. We had no other issues after up until now, 3 years later. Fortunately, we did buy an extended 5-year warranty from the company where it was purchased. This warranty did cover the costs to repair. But, based on my research, the compressor will fail again in time due to onboard firmware issues that are causing the overload.

We pull out the owners manual and found out it was a full filter. We cleaned it and it worked for about 3 weeks. Again OE code. We cleaned filter again, not too dirty but the washer worked for week. OE again. Nothing in filter this time. We called LG. They try to walk us through the problem and could not get it to work. They called a repair person. It took 3 weeks for service. The repairman came out. My husband took the day off work to meet him. He was 4 hours late. He look at the machine for about 10 mins said it was fixed. 13 mins into cycle it displayed OE. He was still in our driveway. He went to work on it again. He never took the top off to look inside. 10 mins later he said, Ok its fixed. Went to do his paperwork. 13 mins into cycle OE. He had left. We called and said same thing was happening. Repairman came back 2 hours later. Never took the top off. Said its fixed. Left 13 mins later. OE. Call shop closed. Next day repair shop said it will be 10 days for new repair person. Same guy came out. Hes mad now. Pulled plug on the drain and flooded my floor hardwood. Never ever came to tell us. Took his shop vac and dump the dirt on my front lawn. I have pictures. All area rug soaked. 20 min no top off its fixed. He left. I called LG to tell them of our problem. After 23 calls and at least an hour on hold a piece they agreed they would send a new repair person. New repair person was to come on Saturday. No showed. I called him all day. At 5:30 he returned my call and said he never set an appt. with LG to come. He said he could come in an hour 6:30 at 7:30. John came was at our house for 2 mins. Said he new the problem and would order the part. 1 week later no news. Call LG. They cant help me. I need to call John repair guy. No answer from him. Days pass calling LG and John. Nothing. Weeks later John calls to say he never got the part. I call LG. They say he never requested it. LG said they need a part number to check on it and I would have to get it from John. Called John. No answer. Called LG. Nothing they can do. 2 weeks of daily calls to LG on hold about any hour on avg. John calls me finally the day after LG told me they were going to refund me for the washer and told me he had the part and was coming on Mothers Day to put it in 7 am. I told him we had church and brunch at 9 am. He assured me he would be there. He showed up at 9 am. We did not make church or brunch. 30 mins spent to not taken off. He cleaned the filter and said LG sent him the wrong part but the washer was working. It did work for 4 loads then OE code again. Called LG. Still no refund or replacement or a washer that works. I dont know what to do. We have lost 5 days of work. Over 200 hour on the phone with LG. 45 min one way to nearest laundry at $60 a week. And hundreds of hour of our lives.

Purchased this expensive machine (1400 AUD) in July 2012 and started breaking down in 2016 with 200 AUD spent on repairs in the last 6 months. The computer control unit has now died with an estimated repair and replacement cost l of 1000 AUD (500 for the part and 500 to do the replacement including call out). So have effectively had 4.5 years out of this machine. While the motor has a 10-year warranty the computer control does not so this equates to 311 AUD/year. The washing machine I had before this one lasted 8 years with much lower repair costs. My conclusion is that LG front loader not sufficiently reliable as it did even 5 years without needing repairs, which is what I expect out of a washing machine. Will give Samsung a try this time - LG is now on my banned list for repeat customer business - suggest you consider this if thinking of buying LG.

We purchased a French door refrigerator and electric range 4 years ago and we have had nothing but problems. The refrigerator light malfunctioned while still under warranty and could have burnt our house down. Luckily, we were in town and I caught it just as the light cover had melted and warmed up everything in our fridge. The cabinet above the fridge was so hot, we could have cooked eggs in it. The ice maker has always had issues, and the fridge has intermittently frozen our vegetables at will. The manufacturer did replace the light fixture as this was a well-documented problem and I found hundreds of others online with the same melting problem including a few that actually did encounter a fire. The electric oven we purchased has had issues almost from the time the 1-year warranty was up. At times, weve had one or two burners that wouldnt work, and most recently, the start button on the oven doesnt work. We had this repaired a month ago, only to have the same problem the day before Christmas. In calling the repairman back, it will cost us another $400 after the $80 last month to repair this relatively new oven. We arent willing to dump another $400 into this piece of junk, as we have no confidence that it wont go out again soon. What ever happened to quality? LG stinks, and I tell everyone I know not to buy from them!

Large-capacity washer that simply WILL NOT BALANCE, but will instead of sounding a buzzer that it is OFF BALANCE, will just restart the countdown timer as it REFILLS with WATER and starts the rinse cycle... again and again and again. Found out the hard way one time 5 hours later that it was still restarting the rinse cycle because it could not balance itself, yet it had never once sounded with the buzzer. Yes, the buzzer can work on occasion, but the load has to be very off balance.When I first got it and the countdown timer reset and the rinse cycle started again, I mistook that it was just part of the machines normal operation, but there is nothing normal for the waste of water and the amount of time I spend standing in front of the washer trying to catch it before it resets AND the amount of time I spend rearranging the load to try and balance it in the tub to the machine balance sensors satisfaction... up to 30 minutes at a time moving heavy wet clothes around or removing them by hand to place one on this side and one on that side... endless aggravation. Even if I use the lowest spin and step it up to the highest spin, it will not balance. If you dont use the highest spin cycle (or step up from low to high) it takes nearly 2 hours to dry clothes on the 2nd highest spin cycle.The factory recall notice that I received was merely an insult to the problem because it does not address the ACTUAL issue -- which is that it will not balance. Instead, the recall wants to tell me not to wash raincoats or such nonsensical how to or not to use the machine properly. It will not balance with: ONLY pants or ONLY shirts or ONLY towels or ONLY pajamas. The bigger the load in this large-capacity washer, the bigger the balance problem. If I wash a tiny load like socks, it might actually finish the load all by itself once-in-a-while, but why have a LARGE-CAPACITY washer if it is useless? If you mix shirts and pants, be prepared to untangle the biggest wet knots you have ever seen! I stopped using the low-water features a long time ago when my clothes did not clean properly, so I now use the Bulky/Bedding setting, which fills the tub with water. When I used the low-water features, the balance problem was exactly the same. I always keep the door open when not in use, so it does not stink itself up and requires special tub cleaning. I have only had to clean it once. Since the normal way this company has responded to the myriad of consumer complaints is even more impossible than dealing with the product, I see no reason to play their game of endless service calls when NO SERVICEMAN CAN POSSIBLY REDESIGN A FLAWED APPLIANCE. I have not heard of any service call fixing this models problems. I bought a 5-year service policy with 2 years left. This machines design is a lemon, so where is the companys restitution to us consumers? I dont want the upgraded software because it takes away wash settings and spin RPMs that I bought in the first place. A recall that is stone-cold useless and removes some original wash (gentle) and spin (extra high) variations is their restitution, so consumer take heed.

In other word, you purchase a new machine, and it comes with a defect, and the manufacturer are not dependable for not meeting the specifications.What sort of company is LG? Would you like to do business with a company that does not care of the consumer/customer? Feels like, that what they see are just numbers... making profit out of people who trust a brand. They send the Oxebo service company to repair both. For the washer they had to come 3 times, drain was not fixed properly and machine was doing awful lots of noise. They did came to fix the drain (after it had ruined my wood floor, without no compensation) but they never fixed the noise, they said it was normal even though it wasnt doing so much noise before.During the autumn 2014, the noise was getting more and more intense and was literally eating and ripping the clothes (the babys clothes were disappearing or getting ripped and the leftovers were found through the drain at each wash). I then did another service call on February 24, 2015 to LG, they said I would have to pay a fix price for each problem (about 200$ per problem for the noise, the eating of clothes and the drain). I decide to do nothing thinking it was too expensive.In April 2015, now the washer is no longer working, pieces were coming out of the drain, I called LG service again, but this time they said they wouldnt repair the machine at a fixed price. I had to call Oxebo service company myself and pay for time and material. When I asked why they wouldnt do the repair because I called a month before, they said the rules have been changed for this machine. I asked what this meant and the lady answered that for this serial number they wouldnt do the repair... I then asked to speak with a manager and the lady said he would call back in 48 hours, but after 2 weeks he never did.My thinking is that they know the washer had a problem to begin with, the company that repaired it did not repaired properly and the machine is broken and no one at LG wants to take responsibility for it. I dont mind paying for the repair, but they should at least offer to repair it since they know it wasnt repair properly a year ago.

My son went online and looked up the error codes, which this rep refused to tell me what they meant and was not listed in the manual. After further online research, I was able to figure out what I could do and 24 hours later, it was back to working. It was the icemaker fan, which appears to be a flaw in these fridges. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I researched different products 2 years ago when I discovered that my husband was planning on leaving me. I insisted on what I thought was top of the line appliances in the kitchen. So I now have a fridge I cant rely on, a dishwasher that doesnt clean dishes no matter what soap or rinse agent I use and an oven that works but it is a good thing I dont cook much. I am disabled and on a fixed income, so I was hoping that my new kitchen would last me 10-15 years but may get less than 5 at this rate. Dont go by reviews on their website since they only use certain reviews.

My LG refrigerator was 16 months old when the compressor went the evening before Thanksgiving, 2019. (This was a known common problem and the compressor was known by LG to be defective.) Even with that, 2 months for them to finally approve a refund. I can honestly tell you that LG has absolutely no concern whatsoever for the hardship or inconvenience that they actually cause and prolong for their paying customers. It was an absolute nightmare getting them to send a service company out in a timely manner. And while they knew that the compressor in this particular model was faulty, they would not under any conditions replace or refund for the refrigerator without having 2-3 separate repair companies attempt to fix the appliance. Four separate times I had to wait 1-2 weeks for a possible repair or replacement of the compressor which was never successful. I had to submit a request for refund twice. It was finally approved by LG on the 2nd attempt, but it still took another 3 weeks for them to process and send an approval to Costco for reimbursement. During this whole 2 month process, I spoke to LG supervisors approximately 9 or 10 separate times only to be told something different almost every single time. I was lied to, hung up on, promised multiple times that a manager would call me (but never once did anyone ever call), I was given mis-information or different mis-information all most every time I spoke with someone. They was very condescending, rude, dismissive, argumentative and could not have cared less that my family had to go without a refrigerator all through the holidays and even the start of the new year. They never once apologized or attempted to fast track anything about the process or help me get it resolved in a timely manner. I found the whole experience completely despicable. I even emailed the CEO and VP of customer service with no response or help whatsoever. By far, this is the worst service or warranty experience of my 61 years of life. Life is NOT Good with LG!!!! What a joke of a company. Save yourself by NOT buying LG products!!!!

The man who came out said he had never seen such a clean washing machine (I used Calgon as per LGs care instruction in the booklet). He took some photos and said they would be in touch... but he thought the door seal would need replacing even though there was no marks on it at all! I never heard back from them. So I phoned LG again. LG said after the engineer had looked at the machine and made a report. It was because I was using Calgon to clean the machine and non bio laundry liquid. I wasnt entitled to another opinion as I had, had an engineer come out to me! The only thing I could do was to get an independent report on the machine.So I went back to the shop where I bought it and they knew someone who did reports. I had an independent report done on the machine and it was proven by two people and photos that there was grease in the bearings that was getting into the machine. After LG had the report it again took a very long time for any response and a lot of phone calls on my part. They accepted the machine was faulty and were going to replace it. I asked for compensation for all clothes and bedding that had been ruined and I had, had to replace. Suddenly there was nothing wrong with my machine and it was the fact that I used non bio!!! The shop I bought it at ended up replacing it for me. I would never recommend LG to anyone and their customer service is appalling. So much, that I havent even registered this new machine as obviously a guarantee doesnt mean anything anyway!!!
