Fridge stopped cooling in early May. Its only 2.5 years old. After six repair appointments 3 of which were to tell us they could not do it that day, and had to order parts and a four hour repair appointment it broke again a week later. Called LG. Called repair service A & E through Lowes. Still have no fridge and more parts on order including another compressor. LG refuses to acknowledge the first four hour repair in May because it was set up with the same repair company but through LOWES my extended warranty. I called and offered to walk away for the near cost of replacing it. They refused so I am taking them to Small Claims Court. LG is garbage.

Wow cant believe Im finding so many people with issues with their LG fridge. Ours is 3 years old and has been making loud noises for a while, had a couple service calls, defrosted a couple times, helps for about a month. Most recently - the WATER STARTED SPEWING FROM THE DISPENSER FULL FORCE ALL ON ITS OWN!! Thank God I was home because in just a few minutes our wood floors were covered with over an inch of water. I opened the door to stop it and then turned off the water supply.Repairman came, heres our list of parts needed to repair: Rear panel fridge (cracked), $267.14. BiMetal freezer part (frosting), $48.65. Control board for updated freezer panel, $329.02. Freezer cover (control panel), $183.38. New dispenser, $280.36+labor. No support from LG on this, which is a shame because they obviously know there are issues with this fridge. Its going to the dump and we will be replacing with a non-LG product. We own a new LG washer/dryer and dishwasher, but this is definitely our last LG product based on this experience. Btw, our 23 year old Kenmore is still going strong in our garage! Will be searching for class action suits and ready to join as soon as I find one! LG lfxs32726S.

My LG Electric Range with convection option malfunctioned and caught fire today, Christmas Day 2011. Its model LRE30755 ST/01 and manufactured in June 2007. A wire between the main compartment of the oven and the lower warming drawer compartment (inside the oven) arced and the heat melted a hole in the metal at the bottom of the oven. Essentially, the metal was on fire.Fortunately, the house did not burn down. The oven sort of shut itself off, and it did not trip the circuit breaker. It is out of warranty. Ill be calling the Consumer Product Safety Commission and the PA State Attorneys office in an attempt to get this product recalled. It is dangerous.

Been over 2 months since 7-month-old LG refrigerator, French Door Model No. LFXC24726S (over $3,000), broke down destroying all contents. Contacted LG support May 11, 2015. After more than 2 hours on phone, finally convinced non-English speaking L.G. employee that we had serious problem and needed service. L.G. told me it was my fault because I didnt know how to close the freezer door!L.G. warranty repairman, a good quality & well-run company, determined a bad compressor. A 2nd employee at L.G.s authorized warranty contractor said that given the nature of the problem, they were going to ask for a replacement refrigerator. L.G. denied the request for a new refrigerator & repairman visited again (2 weeks to receive ordered compressor) and replaced the compressor. The replacement compressor functioned for about 1 week and then completely broke down again. Warranty repairman visited for 3rd time to determine 2nd compressor problem. Diagnosis was a bad replacement compressor plus a computer board needed to be replaced. Parts were again ordered & then a 4th visit from the repairman. When he returned to install, he spoke with a L.G. technician on the phone who would not allow the new parts to be installed unless the repairman completed a special test. The warranty company did not have the required equipment to do what L.G. requested, so he was not permitted by L.G. to install the 2nd new compressor or the computer board. The suggestion was made that we start all over with a new L.G. warranty contractor. The original contractor will attempt to see if his management will acquire the required equipment. We have now been without a refrigerator for over 2 months & had 4 repairman visits. The authorized service and the retailer who sold us the refrigerator have made multiple requests for a new refrigerator to replace this LEMON... always the same answer: NO, not warranted. L.G. will never honor its warranty. They are not a reputable company. Whomever reads this review, NEVER ever buy any L.G. product. If you do, you will be very unhappy.UPDATE: Monday, 7-13-15 at 8:41 a.m. - J & M Appliance repair called to cancel our 7-14-15 appt. between 8:00 & 11:00 a.m. (5th visit). Calling to cancel the appt. for tomorrow in reference to L.G. refrigerator. I do have a note here from my senior tech. He is advising that you contact L.G. and have them send out a different (authorized) service provider. The reason being is L.G. does not want to supply us the Micron gauge for the units. So at this point, we will not be there on Tuesday between 8 & 11. And again, you can contact L.G. at 1-800-000-000 and have them send out a different company for your repair. Thank you. We have been trying to get Warranty repair from L.G. for over 2 months and now we have to start all over!!! Words fail me...

I bought this machine because it was oversized to be able to fit in large loads of clothes and bedding. Every year I have had it, it has progressively had more problems than the last. The last three visits were about the water coming out of the drum and they did adjustments. First they told me I could use the top speed to get water out. The next breakdown they readjusted it and said I could not wash waterproof clothing or water resistant clothing and that it would break the machine. WTF? I bought it to wash my clothes not just some of my clothes, however I followed their advice washing winter coats and gloves and bedding protection outside my house. Now its broken again same issue. I had a regular size load of jeans in it. STUPID machine!!!! Worse yet is the customer service - they dont understand English and they will disconnect you multiple times and one call in will take two hours out of your life!!! DO NOT BUY!!

On Sat. Oct 18, 2014, my brother went into the LG fridge to get something, when he called out to get my attention. I thought it was smoke from oven. All attempt to locate fire in the oven was lean. I opened the kitchen window to air out the smoke. A few minutes later, my son goes to the same fridge in search of something and calls out with a more assured voice, dad I think the smoke is coming from the refrigerator. Upon getting back to the fridge, I opened the fridge part. It was smoke filled. The light was out. Toward the bottom of the fridge, I discovered that the egg carton on top of the cold buckets was on fire. It was still burning. The 18 count egg carton was totally top obliterated, plus a hole ate to the bottom. Bad deal.We recorded the whole experience and took a few pictures. I called LG and spoke to a rep who seemed to be empathetic. LG decided they would have a technician contact me, but non was available for the next two weeks. The rep told us that she would call me the next day after getting to work, at about 08:30, with a possible contact. She didnt. When my wife called them, she got nothing but the run around. Two days later, I spoke with a rep who was not getting to the bottom of the issue. Then I requested to talk to a manager. The manager patched the issue over to the Executive team, who made the decision after seeing the videos and pictures, that the fire was no fault of theirs. LG never sent a technician to look at my LG refrigerator. LG said people call and complain for different reasons. Thats subject to anyones interpretation. The long and short of the story is that cold refrigerators should never burn inside. It should smother out fire, not attract it.

Almost the perfect range, it has everything you need or want. Unfortunately
Almost the perfect range, it has everything you need or want. Unfortunately, it has a very dangerous design flaw. When anyone bumps against a burner knob, a burner turns on (normally on high). We recently had a situation where a glass baking dish was taken out of the oven and placed on the stove top. Someone accidentally bumped a knob, turning on the burner to high, where the glass dish was at. When my wife noticed the burner was on, she turned it off and tried moving the glass baking dish off of the burner, when the dish suddenly exploded. I contacted LG. I was told to buy the child safety cover for $30.00. This is a VERY expensive appliance. We shouldnt have buy something to make it safe when it should be safe to use in the first place. Think very carefully before purchasing this appliance.

LG dishwasher leaked from the start. A service man came to fix and it still leaked. I called again. He was having car trouble and will get back to me. He never did. The warranty ran out. LG was kind enough to do an extended warranty for 30 days. I have been told something different every time I call. I was supposed to have a repairman within 5 days. We declined to have the same repairman. It has been 3 weeks. We’re waiting to put in a new floor and we still have a leaking dishwasher because my husband does not want same repairman. They cant find anyone else to fix it. Valerie the supervisor today was no help at all. She told me I just have to wait over and over until someone contacts me. The extended warranty runs out 3-22 .Valerie told me this morning that I canceled an appointment with another repair man. I have never canceled any appointment. This whole experience has us furious.

LG model LRG3081St gas oven preheats to 500 degrees when set on 350. Purchased this range from Lowes and they have been good to work with and have had their repairman to our home 2 times. The control board and temperature probe have been replaced but still over-preheats. In order to use oven I have to open door and try to manipulate the controls to keep at 350. The last repairman called LG Tech support and LG said that we will just have to wait 25-30 minutes to achieve the temp. of 350 as the oven has to settle into the right temp. Lowes appliance Dept. manager said that is ridiculous and I agree. I should not have to wait 30 minutes before using my oven. Still trying get LG to to respond--I want a refund my money. Also burners on stove top are always looking dirty and discolored.

We purchased our refrigerator in November of 2015. Customer no service is worse than terrible. Our refrigerator broke down in August of 2019. It is now February 2020. We have had a working refrigerator for 3 days. Since then repair is a nightmare. Only comes on their schedule (A&E) and only when they want. If you ask to speak to management they hang up on you or put you thru transferring you to all incorrect departments. When they hang up on you they block your number so you cannot call back. The 4th person that came out said the parts he was installing looked used. Gosh wonder why they didnt work. Last person out said defect in refrigerator design was the problem even if they order parts will not work. He called LG. They are sending parts to repair defective refrigerator. LG model #lmxs30776s.

My husband and I purchased an LG appliance package from Best Buy (about $5k) when we bought our new house in May 2018. It included a refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher. In March 2020 while self-isolating during the Coronavirus pandemic our refrigerator compressor went out, resulting in the loss of around $250 worth of food. This is bad enough, but it happened with a food shortage going on because of the Coronavirus panic-buying that is happening everywhere. We had to wait 3 days before we could get a repairman out to us. Thankfully he had a compressor; it was under warranty, and was successfully replaced. The fact that LG KNEW that they had faulty compressors in their refrigerators, and that neither Best Buy nor LG contacted us to notify us of this defect is really a problem. We are out the $150 that it cost for the repairman, as well as the cost of the food we lost. I will never buy another LG product since it appears that they dont care about the consumers, only about their bottom line. If youre thinking about buying an LG appliance, DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST and read reviews.

DO NOT BUY AN LG WASHING MACHINE!! Upon installation, our brand new top of the line front loading washing machine, LG Model # WM3470HWA, exhibited extreme water hammer noise, which resonated through our entire 2,700 sq ft home, immediately after the sensing cycle and during the filling cycle. LG Phone Tech Support recommended that our plumbing contractor (a master plumber), install water hammer arrestors (3 sets were eventually installed, in between visits from the LG 3rd party and Factory Rep). We also reduced the water pressure, even though the existing pressure setting was well within LG tolerances. he third party service rep, during a call w/ Tech Support at LG was told that the water hammer noise is intrinsic to the machines operation. In the end, after going to the very highest level of Customer Support at LG, they refused to address the problem, or stand behind the product in any way. The result... we are stuck with a inferior, defective washing machine. If you go to other blogs, you will see that this problem is quite common with LG washing machines.

It was a known problem with the motherboard on the computer. My dishwasher is not heavily used (6x/week) and within 18 months of owning it the stainless finish on the control panel (around the POWER) button started to wear off. I was told this was outside the warranty period and could pay to replace the door (for essentially 1/4 of the price I paid for the dishwasher). The dishwasher has been fine, not spectacular (the dishes are often still wet after drying overnight, I have tried every combination of drying cycles to improve this). Overall very disappointed in the quality of the dishwasher, wont be buying an LG product again.

I called and they refused to come out and repair the washer. I called LG back and told them what happened. LG said they will call me back within 3 days. On the 4th day without a call back, I called LG again. They tried to set me up with the same people who have already refused to repair the washer. When I told them that they again told me I would be called back in 3 days, I told them that was not acceptable and to replace the washer. LG has refused to honor the warranty. Updated on 05/18/2020: In a previous post, I reported my washer disaster. A week ago, I heard from LG (Louis) indicating they would provide a new washer in 5-7 days and was asked for proof of purchase etc. I provided that info. Since that time, no contact from LG and they never provided me with contact information. So I sit waiting for them to contact me or reply once again through Consumer Affairs. LG, if you are reading this, please contact me.Original review: After 7 years of mostly uneventful washing experience, my machine suddenly blew apart. My machine was running through a spin cycle and suddenly, there were loud crashing and banging noises, the machine flew across the floor approximately 2 1/2 - 3 feet and the door blew open. The tub appears to have come loose, smashed into the front and sides of the machine. The front of the machine has large protruding dents, the side handles were blown out and the side dented, and small parts flew out. The door wont even close because of the large protruding dents. Thank goodness that we were not in the laundry room as we would have sustained injuries for sure. I am aghast at the force and danger that this machine caused.

Ive had my LG Top Load Washer 2yrs, 4 mo and couldnt be more displeased with it. As others have said, it gets out of balance nearly every load and doesnt wash anything very well. Often I have to wash a 2nd time. Today was the icing on the cake. It overflowed and flooded 3 rooms. I put it on pause and opened the lid, and it started draining water. I let it finish then turned it OFF and it went back to draining even more water in OFF. I pulled the plug and ready to send it off a cliff. NO MORE LG for me. First and last time!! I wont bother getting it fixed since I can tell that will be a waste of more money on a cruddy product.

I like the ice machine and able to adjust the temperature to your liking, also how it is long-lasting and always keeps things cold. Also you never have to worry about food going bad because it keeps everything super cold. What would improve the refrigerator if it came in more colors and a wider variety of ice textures to fit everybodys personal needs and also wish it had a ice cream maker to make ice cream or ice pops or another cool thing would be a coffee maker button to make coffee of any kind you want. It has been my expectations, a 10 out of 10 and it was on sale and most importantly it was recommended to me by my friends. I have no regrets purchasing this item. May 2018... My almost 2 year LG French door in black stainless steel stopped cooling. Find out because there was water all over the floor from the ice melting. Lost all my food from fridge and freezer. LG replaced the compressor which lasted 4 days and went out again so of course I lost more food. Had another technician come out and took apart the inside of the refrigerator and found there was a leak. He ordered the new part and LG contacted him and told him it wouldnt be in until the end of July. LG gave me option that they would pay for the remainder value of the refrigerator and deduct the years of use or I would have to keep waiting for the part. I opted to wait for the part because they were only offering me a couple hundred dollars for an almost $3,000 refrigerator. The technician knows that this is an ongoing problem that he has dealt with with many customers around MN. I finally have my refrigerator working as of July 14... Thats 2 months without. Now my worry is for how long??? Another issue is the black stainless steel finish is peeling off of the whole set (microwave, stove, dishwasher, and refrigerator). Tiny pieces are coming off in different areas. I dont know how they can get away with this???

Couldnt agree with James of Dover, DE more. Good stuff, James. Didnt think Id ever be laughing so hard about my Awful LG washer. From the day it arrived, it has controlled, taunted and frustrated me to no end. One load cycle averages about 24 hours and three check ins on my part. Considering a washboard as a replacement, to save time, effort and aggravation. And frankly, the matching dryer isnt much better as it almost invariably dries clothes down to damp, at which point I have to start it again to wring out the last ten minutes of time needed to get to dry. Stingy machines with no redeeming qualities. Steer clear.

We bought an LG washer one year ago. It started showing an error code last month. I called them, and the code is undiagnosable. For more than 4 weeks, I have been fighting the customer service department, including the team in Philippines and USA. They have absolutely zero empathy and concern for the customer. They have not been able to get my issue fixed at all. And now I am fighting with them about replacement. They seem to have a 1000 different departments for everything, and seem to be extremely poor at coordinating. Also, everything that they tell you...is pretty much a lie!! They go back on it all the time. USA team seems to be even more horrible than the Philippines team!! SO, if your appliance goes bad, you should be ready for a fight and harassment. Not to mention, take a few days/weeks off, apply for FMLA!!! You will need all your day and your emotional and mental energy to get through this.

These stainless steel refrigerators are not cheap and you would think after numerous repairs for the same problem common sense would be to replace the unit! I guess they feel they are not too big to fail. To anyone who wants to start a class action lawsuit, please contact me at **.

I bought my LG appliances not quite 3 years ago. I did my whole kitchen, refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, washer & dryer. They were very expensive. I thought I was buying the best. I bought them from HH Gregg. First mistake. They went out of business shortly after. I never received pedestals for washer and dryer, they owed me $150 back but of course I never saw that. The appliances are junk. Microwave is convection but has burn marks on side from first use. Dishwasher wheels fell off right away. Getting dishes in and out almost impossible unless I get halfway in it. I rarely use it because its a pain. My refrigerator compressor went out the beginning of June 2019. LG uses a company called A&E for repairs. When I called them they told me they only had one technician in my area. I finally got my refrigerator fixed today. September 11, 2019. The compressor was fixed 2 weeks ago but the day after it was fixed the icemaker went. I went without a refrigerator for two months and without ice for over 3 months. I have had to buy bagged ice for 3 months.I finally had enough with A&E and the rudeness I dealt with there. I refused them to do the repairs. LG said they got someone else to do the repairs, only thing is they never called him to set up for repairs to be done. Not once but twice. Thankfully I had his number and he made time to fix the refrigerator. His company is called Umbrella appliance repair and his name is Said. Not sure of last name. He is from Williamsburg VA. I would recommend him and give him the highest respect. He came even though they didnt call him like they said not once but twice, they had me wait all day and he didnt even know he was supposed to be here to do repairs. He worked until after 8 p.m.My husband passed away 3 yrs. ago, the person that took my info got it wrong and somehow when they sent the parts to my house, parts I didnt know were coming, came in my dead husbands name. Can you imagine getting a pkg. on your front steps with your deceased spouses information on it. Also during all of this mess my mother passed away. I had family coming in from all over the country and no refrigerator to keep food and no way to make ice. I had people here from Wisconsin, California and Pennsylvania. This has been a nightmare I wouldnt wish on anyone. Over 2 months without a refrigerator 3 months without my icemaker. LG should be ashamed. I would never recommend them to anyone and I promise I will never buy LG products again. The worst customer service ever, from LG and A & E repair services. Debbie **

Wednesday 25th of May my refrigerator stopped working. Both refrigerator and freezer part. I called the 800 number on owners manual that came with the refrigerator and was told I had to either pay over $200 or $399 for 1 year extra insurance because they could not find my registration card and could not tell me when I bought it. So I paid the $399 thinking someone would come out and look at the fridge. I was informed that no one could come until the following Wednesday because it was a holiday weekend. The repairman came on Tuesday and informed my husband that the freon system was not properly cleaned before installation causing the freon to leak or evaporate from the system, causing the entire coolant system to malfunction. According the repairman this was done during the assembly process. He had to order a part and would take a few days to get. We waited a week and had to call LG back to get the repairmans number and find out what was taking so long. We were informed that the part is on back order and will not be available until after the 15th of June. At no time did the repairman call and inform us of this development. I have two small children in my home and cannot keep fresh foods available for them. I will not recommend an LG appliance to anyone. The customer service sucks and the phone center could give a damn. They could not tell me when we purchased the refrigerator but when my husband called they told him it was purchased in December 2014. This will be 18+/- days without a refrigerator and the weather so far has been in the high 80s.

I purchased my LG French Door freezer model number LFX25976 through Direct Buy during 2011. The bottom freezer abruptly stopped freezing and the refrigerator stopped cooling. However, the fan works. Was initially believing refrigerator had gone into automatic defrost but after two days of none cooling or freezing, my belief now is that the compressor may be the culprit. One year ago, same incident occurred but after several hours, my refrigerator began cooling and freezing again. Contacted LG during that time and was advised that it was common for the refrigerator to automatically defrost and does so without any warning. But this time it has been two days and my refrigerator has yet to begin functioning properly.

We purchased our set (LG Tromm DLG8388NM Washer and Dryer) in 2006 and for the first two years, everything seemed to work well. But now, the washer leaks, the drum is corroded with black disgusting gunk that is difficult to get to let alone clean. The clothes stink even after washing them twice, with bleach and fabric softener. The dryer spins but there aren’t any heat. We spent over $2,500 on the set from Home Depot and have been disappointed to say the least. We also had a bad experience with an LG dishwasher and refrigerator. Both had to be replaced a year after purchase. We spent a total of $6,500 on LG products and they have not lived up to their Lifes Good name. My suggestion is not to roll the dice with any of their products because you will be angry and frustrated.

I requested assistance with my washing machine on the 15th of March. Nobody pitched, on Friday, I phoned again and was informed that one technician was on leave. She would send somebody on Monday. Nobody came. I phoned again on the 22nd of March. She said she will ask the technician to come on Friday. That Thursday afternoon, I received an SMS saying that they would be at my house. Unfortunately, I was in town to collect my daughter and asked them to be there 16:10. When I got home at 16:00, they left a note saying they were at my house and I was not there. The next morning, I received an email saying that they would be coming on that Friday. I requested them to please come at 13:00 when I am home from school. The lady replied that the technician will be there before 13:00. I told her again that I am teaching and Im not allowed to just leave. I will notify her if I leave earlier, which I did. Then Louis came and told me the rubber was perished, that he does not have it in stock but will order it. It should be here the next week. I kindly requested him to notify me on the day that he will be coming, in the morning, to say whether he would be coming in the morning or afternoon. He promised me that he would phone me an hour before he comes. Today, he sent me an SMS 30 minutes before he stopped at my house. I had no idea that he was planning on coming today, so I was in the gym at the point when he sent an SMS. I did not hear the SMS as there is loud music in the gym. I am totally dissatisfied that he cannot respect me as a paying customer and have the decency to ensure that I did receive the message and that he cannot respect my wish to know in advance which day he will be coming. We are on holiday and I might have been at the beach with the kids, then I would also not here an SMS. I feel it is unfair of him to expect of me to sit and wait at the house until he one day decides he is coming to fix my machine. Today is the 26th of March and my machine is still not fixed.

Front Load Fresh is a bracket I purchased on Etsy through Simple Life products; it partially holds open any front load washing machine door. I was remodeling my kitchen and bought a brand new range and an over the range microwave, delivered 12/2018, installed in Feb 2019 due to kitchen not being ready. When started using it I noticed some white spots or discoloration on the stainless steel front of the range. As the range worked fine I did not immediately call CS to see if anything can be done about this issue. Then the microwave stop working so I called CS and told them about both appliances and they scheduled a time to come out for the MW but told me they would be get back with me about the range which they never did after a week. When the guys came out to look at the MW I showed them the spots and they tried cleaning them as well. They said Id have to call back in as nothing was scheduled for the range just the MW. They even confirmed that the front face of the range could be replaced a simple fix. I called the next Monday to ask about this again and the first guy told me from what he could see, from a photo I had sent in the first time, it was nothing that can be done about it. So I ask why he thought that from looking at a photo, he said he would get me over to a supervisor. After being on hold for 20 minutes a guy got on the phone and told me that if I would have called as soon as I noticed the spots that they could have replaced it based on a defect but since I waited that there was nothing they could do about it. He said it might be a chemical reaction but I told him Ive only used what was recommended for me to use. I asked them if they could replace the front piece and he said no that because I waited that there was nothing they could do about it. Yes I waited until the MW stop working before I called because the range was working fine. I know that if CS wanted to help and replace one piece that they could have but they punished me for waiting, its not as if I was asking for a brand new range. Ive already have had a few people ask me what LG did about taking care of the range and now I can let them know and everyone know that they chose not to do anything because I was busy and didnt call right away. I will never buy LG again!!!

We bought a new front loader LG WM3670H just a couple of months ago after our 13 year old front loader Kenmore (an amazing washer!) shot its bearings. The LG machine is only good for washing dust off your clothes. Will not wash anything heavier than that and leaves tons of lint all over your clothes... I am super frustrated because I am now washing lots of things in hand after they have been through the supposed wash. I use heavy soil and warm water setting and it is not sufficient for average towels or kids’ clothing.

Our LG fridge was purchased on March 4, 2019. Delivered on March 7th. Fridge was not operating correctly or safely. We were advised by an LG tech to unplug the unit immediately and what unfolded from there has been the worst consumer experience of our 45 year marriage. I’m writing this review so that hopefully other consumers won’t make th
I’m writing this review so that hopefully other consumers won’t make the same mistake I made by buying this LG refrigerator. I bought this refrigerator on 5/6/13 at Famous Tate in Brandon, Fl, and paid $2545 for it—my very first “modern”, expensive fridge. This is Model # LF X 319455T/02 (stainless steel French Door). I’ve had nothing but trouble with it since the beginning, and after reading all these reviews, I can see that I am clearly not the only one.The food has gone bad periodically over the last 5 years, resulting in my having to throw stuff out quite often. I confess that I actually ate food that I probably shouldn’t have, and for someone with an autoimmune condition who MUST have fresh fruits and vegetables to survive, this is completely unacceptable. There had been water accumulating in the refrigerator for a long time, and a few months ago there was water all over the left hand side of the bottom shelf as well as all over the floor. I immediately called LG to discuss the problem, and rather than pay them in advance for one of their techs to come here, I paid a technician from Mr. Appliance to come here. He may not have been an authorized LG technician, but he was highly trained and extremely knowledgeable about these LG french door refrigerators. By the way, most repair technicians in my area refuse to even work on LG appliances. That should tell you something!!The guy (Ron) who came to my house determined that the automatic ice maker was causing the problem, and he literally showed me how this one defective part always malfunctions in these models. He further explained that eventually the compressor will probably go out. The replacement part has a heater built into it that supposedly will prevent this problem from occurring, but between parts and labor, it would cost me over $500. That day he enlightened me about a lot of things, and after doing extensive research, I found out that everything he told me that day was true. For instance, I found out that LG has known about this manufacturer’s defect for years, and yet continues to manufacture new models with the same defective part. Sounds very shady and evil to me. Nevertheless, I was going to agree to the repair whether Ron did it or LG (for a slight discount), but then decided against investing more money into this piece of crap.Instead, I bought new water and fresh air filters, and tried to remember to empty the ice container periodically. I should mention that I have NEVER personally used the water dispenser or the ice maker, but I thought it would be nice to have it for any guests who occasionally come over. That being said, for the last few months, the fridge seemed to work ok—not great, but ok. Then the last few weeks there was more water accumulating inside food containers. I just wiped them out, threw more rotten food out, and just put up with it. There’s also a strange discoloration on the touchscreen panel as well as a stainless steel finish looking like it’s peeling off. Clearly very cheaply made. It’s interesting that they charge a premium price for a cheaply made product. Don’t get me started on the faulty design which has its own set of problems. So, on Monday night (7/30/18) or technically Tuesday 12:30 am (8/31/18), the fridge started making an extremely loud noise. There was water everywhere and everything in the freezer had defrosted. I immediately called LG (they do answer the phone 24/7), and was instructed to turn off the breaker to the fridge. I did that, and at least that stopped the noise. I also dumped out the ice container in order to prevent matters getting worse. The representative told me that according to the schedule, a service tech. most likely would be able to come out Friday and for me to call back at 8:00 am to confirm. Obviously I’d have to pay $125 in advance plus pay the service tech for any additional labor. I explained to her that I now have to clean up the huge mess, try to salvage what food I can, and that I’m very ill, 80 lbs and need to be properly nourished to stay alive.I asked her how I’m expected to live without a refrigerator for 4-5 days and probably much longer after ordering parts and having the tech come back to complete the repair. She had absolutely no response for me. I did call back later that morning, paid $125, and scheduled the tech. to come to my house on Friday. Meanwhile I drove to the convenience store in the middle of the night, bought 4 bags of ice and went home to start the cleanup process. I worked all night long using the wet vac, taking everything out of the fridge and freezer, throwing lots of stuff away, and putting whatever food I thought worth saving into coolers with ice. I thoroughly dried the inside of the fridge and freezer, and then proceeded to clean and sterilize. Needless to say, I never slept having worked tirelessly throughout the night. Needless to say I was utterly exhausted.Due to the dire emergency I was in, I sent messages to 7 people on Craigslist and Next Door desperate to get a fridge delivered to me ASAP. The LG repair tech (Sonny) called me later that day and instructed me to turn the fridge back on, and said that he could come here on Saturday-not Friday. Fortunately, that horrible noise never came back on, so that at least was a relief. He proceeded to explain to me that from what I told him, it sounds like a very complex problem, and that his labor would be very intensive, and it could cost me over $1,000 between parts and labor regardless of the compressor being covered under the 10 year warranty. He honestly didn’t think it was worth fixing, and suggested I buy another fridge. We’ve talked several times in the last few days, and he has reiterated that I need to purchase another fridge ASAP. He clearly didn’t want to come here and told me to call LG and cancel the appt.I’ve also been on the phone with LG multiple times in the last 4 days for hours complaining about the situation to no avail. LG representatives in the Philippines are very nice, but there’s a huge communication problem, and it’s beyond frustrating trying to get my point across. I kept getting put on hold, transferred to various individuals, and no one seemed to understand a word I said. All of this massive stress compounded by 4 days of virtually no sleep has comprised my health even more. This entire ordeal has been an absolute nightmare, and I’m outraged that someone can very casually say “Oh well, just go buy another fridge” after I spent over $2500 on what I thought (confirmed by the sales guy) would be a state of the art refrigerator that would last for years. Boy did that turn out to be wrong. I agree with what the rest of you said about LG.I will NEVER buy another LG appliance, and advise everyone else to avoid this brand like the plague. Not surprisingly, I’ve found my brand new LG front loader to be quite frustrating. What a joke “LG Life’s Good”. Life is anything but good when you have an LG appliance. More like a nightmare. I deserve to be compensated for all the food I’ve lost and continue to lose as well as the toll this has taken on my health. Not to mention countless hours on the phone with LG and the hours it has taken me to write this complaint. The abhorrent way in which LG manufactures their products and provides service is nothing short of unconscionable, and I really hope we can all get appropriately compensated for what we’ve had to endure.

Who is at blame, in customers being led to believe that LG makes wonderful washing machines? I agree that we all need to bring about a class action lawsuit against them. I purchased my set of washer and dryer model WM2501H on black Friday of 2010. One month later, the repair man came out and replaced the main board. Everything is fine, until the load tries to balance. This can take 45 minutes and maybe more. You are supposed to be able to do large loads. I try 2 blankets, 1 pair of pants, 2 towels and a pair of underwear. The repair people said you should mix loads, so I did. This is not always possible for the two of us. After waiting 45 minutes, my husband stopped the machine and took out one blanket and it still took 10 minutes to balance. The repair people dont tell you how your machine will age much faster by wasting all this energy and wear and tear on the machine. So much for a lower electric bill. I will never buy anything made by LG again.

I will never buy another LG product again. This microwave needed major repairs within 18 months of my purchase. The first repair happened when it was still under warranty but I had to pay for service and when the second repair was needed, the warranty had expired. I called LG to ask for a warranty extension with the argument that a relatively new appliance should not need major repairs twice. In fact, the microwave I had replaced with the LG was over 10 years old and had never needed a repair. I replaced it because it was old looking and I was remodeling my kitchen. LG would not extend the warranty and the repair with service would cost more than replacing it. I argued that they should replace my microwave but was denied. Again, I will never buy an LG appliance again.

Purchased a LG French Door Refrigerator less than 2 years ago. Started to notice freezer was not keeping things frozen. Call LG, do the diagnostic where you hold the phone up to the appliance (crazy and doubt it works). They agree to send a tech. Wait a week to get on the schedule. Tech from Mr. Appliance comes out and says compressor, coil and evaporator are bad. We need to turn it off and wait for parts. Parts take another 2 weeks. Tech was here today and replaced all three parts. It took him 3 hours. When he went to start it up, no go. Turns out the heater in the evaporator is bad and blew out the main board. So now both need to be replace. Spent an hour on the phone with LG. First level is outsourced overseas and customer service reps do not speak good English. They follow a script. Begged to talk to a supervisor. Waited 30 minutes for supervisor to take the call. Spoke to Neil and Willie and they did nothing. Told us they couldnt escalate higher. As long as they deem the appliance repairable we have to wait for the new parts to be delivered and then schedule another tech visit by Mr. Appliance. Absolutely NO customer service. They could care less that we have been without a refrigerator for over 3 weeks, 2 days from Thanksgiving. Its very disappointing to hear them say Life is Good and we dont want you to be inconvenienced while on hold. And then when you speak to someone, you get zero assistance or customer service. We will NEVER buy another LG product. We bought a lemon which I get sometimes happens. But the reason we wont buy from LG again is their complete lack of customer service. Totally disappointed in how we were treated.

On 7-20-2010, I purchased an LG french door refrigerator, model LFX28978ST from Best Buy for $2,168. On May 26, 2014, I reported the failure of the unit to LG. I had an LG authorized service technician diagnose the unit, and he determined that the compressor has definitely failed, and that very likely, the entire sealed system had failed as well. He, while still in my home contacted LG and conveyed the information, but they stated they would seek replacement only of the compressor to be certain. After two days, I called the service organization again to determine when the repair would be authorized and made. They noted that no authorization had been received from LG and that I would be responsible for the full cost. Thereafter, I contacted LG and requested a service authorization. It was noted that one would be provided. Approximately two days later, I re-contacted the service organization regarding the repair. They stated that LG would not allow them to seek the part from their normal parts distributor, and that it must come directly from the company. They additionally stated that they had ordered the part from the company. When I requested the shipping and estimated delivery date, the service organization stated that LG never releases that information to the service organization. As a consequence, I re-contacted LG and requested the same information. The LG representative noted at that point that the part had been ordered, was in stock, yet had not been released for shipment. The representative added that they would seek to determine its release date and return my call. They did not. I contacted LG again to inquire of the part shipping date, and was told that since so much time had elapsed, I was being transferred to the defective returns area for resolution. Once within defective returns, I was provided a non-negotiable buy back of the unit at an LG depreciated price which amounted 67.6% of the purchase price, an amount which approximates to straight line depreciation for the period the unit was owned. Inquiring as to options, the defective returns area noted the only options were to take their offer, or wait for repair. I additionally inquired as to when the part would be shipped to effect the repair, and could not be given a time frame. Even when feeling forced into an untenable offer, the LG defective returns representative was able to add injury to insult, stating it would be 2 to 3 weeks before I would receive the check representing the buy-back. The approach LG has taken in my instance has the appearance of purposefully failing to comply with the repair terms of their warranty in an effort to compel consumers to accept a non-negotiable defective product buy-back offer. In my instance, I conceded under the duress of needing to replace my refrigerator. I will, however never purchase another product manufactured by LG under any nameplate (Sears, please take note).

When looking for a new stove the salespeople at Lowes raved about LG. We looked for reviews and they were all positive. I bought this stove in September 2017. It has multiple times turned the gas on with no flame. The knob must have been bumped. The last time the gas had run so long that we had to open windows and doors for hours in the winter to get rid of the smell. Im afraid that my family is going to die from carbon monoxide poisoning! How can this not be recalled by the government must less LG themselves. Are they waiting for someone to die in a fire or from poisoning??? A LG repair person came and replaced the metal pieces the knobs are on. While he was doing that the gas turned on!!!. It still seems like the knobs turn VERY easily! Will never buy LG again!!

I am so far pleased w/ my new refrigerator, but getting the right help for a replacement part has been extensive and frustrating. Fridge under warranty. Needed to order new tempered glass shelf for my model fridge. First time - Sent the wrong part. Glass is correct width but 2.5 too long. Called again. Second Time - Sent entirely wrong part. Third time - Looked online at blown out version of parts while on phone with Customer Service. They sent the wrong part again, but same part as first attempt. Each time the Model number was verified having taken a picture of sticker on inside of fridge. Clearly the part # is mislabeled. Now they are asking me to wait 3-5 more days to get a call to schedule an in-home visit. Offered to send picture of parts and how tempered glass shelf is too long. No, once the order was put in process by supervisor for technician there is nothing else to do but wait.ON ANOTHER NOTE: Im from Maine. Fridge purchased in Maine. Maine has Consumer Goods And Maine Express And Implied Warranty Laws. I do not know about other states, but is worth a look. In Maine regardless of what warranty the retailer or manufacturer gives, Maine law gives consumers a 4-year warranty and the Retailer is who is responsible and who you deal with, not the manufacturer. So when offered the 3-yr warranty, I say, No thanks, because Im covered by Maine Law for the 4 years.

We purchased the washer and dryer set. Thought it was going to be great but has turned out to be the worst deal ever. We have had nothing but problems. We have same issues everyone else is having, uneven load, uneven balance. Takes forever to do one load of laundry. We paid a lot of money for the set. Now looks like we are going to have to buy another set but different brand. Anyone thinking of buying these please dont waste your money. LG needs to make this right for their customers. I will not purchase LG anything now.

We bought our LG gas stove in 2009. The first problem we had with it was a week before the warranty was up, lucky for us. The problem was that the valves for turning on the stove were too easy to turn on. I had accidentally turned the stove on with my behind as I turned away from the stove and brushed against the knobs. I didnt think much of it at the time until our toddler was working his way around the kitchen and on two occasions slapped at the knobs and turned the gas on in both cases. We immediately called the LG service line and they had the valves replaced. What we noticed shortly after was the knobs themselves getting loose. When I checked them out, I noticed that the backer was cracking and crumbling away. I contacted company for replacement parts and was shocked at the cost of replacing the knobs, about 30% of the cost of the stove itself. I checked the net and found that this was a common problem with no solution listed. What I did to correct it was to take one of the remaining better knobs and go to a good appliance retailer. I pulled knobs of stoves in inventory and checked to see if the LG knob would fit. When I got one, I asked about ordering replacement knobs for that unit and found them to be of better quality and lower replacement cost. I picked up a set of 5 for under a $100 and I am sure I could have gotten a better deal if I wasnt in such a hurry to get a set that fit. I will never by an LG again and have told everyone I work with my LG horror story. Also, my LG french door fridge has had a drawer bracket crack and my LG dishwasher is experiencing problems as well. They were all bought at the same time.

My husband came home tonight to the alarming smell of gas as I was in our family room with a mild headache, I wasn’t sure what had triggered it. He immediately started opening up all the windows. To my horror, the gas knob on our LG gas range (model LSG4513ST.BSTELGA) was in on position with no blue flame visible. Had he not been home to smell the gas leak, I could have easily DIED! Yes DIED!!! It is not the first time this gas range has been in the”on” mode unintentionally. It’s been two hours now that the windows have been open in this hot AZ summer, as we continue to air out the house. Unacceptable LG!!!! I now come to realize after reading the numerous disturbing reviews, this is an ongoing defect in their product. I’m not taking any chances with my family’s safety. We will be shopping for a new safer range ASAP. Please do not buy this range new or used. Like others have said, this needs to be discontinued before someone is in danger of losing their lives. Not an exaggeration.

My LG french door Refrigerator & Freezer stopped cooling after 7 years of no issues. Called LG repair department on (4/14) and they scheduled me with an LG certified technician. The Tech (Hector) arrived at my house on time on (04/17), and fixed my fridge very professionally. The complete cost of repair was reasonable since I was not charged with a new compressor (old one was under 10 years warranty). Currently, (04/26), my fridge is working with no issues. I hesitated at first to pay the upfront charge but it ended up being well worth it so far. I'm crossing my fingers. :-)

LG customer service was like talking to a wall. I also bought a washer: a full tub without an agitator and water saver. I purchased this from Sears. Its made by LG for Sears. Its a side-by-side since it was the only refrigerator that would fit within the dimensions of the opening of our cabinets. It was only a few months after purchasing that I found my kitchen floor flooded with water. The ice maker water feed line was installed by Sears. There was a defect in the refrigerator that caused the ice maker to freeze and blow water out of the water line from the back of the refrigerator causing flooding. I have a wood floor in the kitchen and the wood became warped and lifted both under and in front of the refrigerator. Sears came to repair and the repairman caused a short circuit in the electronics board and the whole refrigerator went dark. We had to wait for that part to be ordered. So we had no refrigerator for days and a wood floor that was destroyed. To make a long story short, the correct part was installed and the refrigerator in working condition again but it took weeks and a lot of documentation and correspondence between myself, Sears and the LG headquarters in order to determine who was at fault and who would be responsible for replacement of the floor. It was a very frustrating and maddening time. One other thing about the LG refrigerator, I noticed a few months ago that the paint on the handles is peeling off and soft. Theres a lot peeled already and a lot with long scratches from fingernails reaching for the handle. I dont know how to fix it to make it look less ugly and dont want to have to deal with either Sears or LG over this.

We bought an LG front loading high efficiency washer a few years ago and it has been nothing but trouble. The maintenance required for routine use is more than one would expect for an appliance such as a washing machine. The machine routinely soils and streaks clothes and has ruined countless garments despite the suggested tub cleaning, wiping down, and costly extra tub cleaner. Additionally, the washer often leaks soapy water into the floor despite the use of HE detergent, meticulous measuring of detergent so as not to overfill. Now I must wash only small loads to keep leakage to a minimum--one of the big selling points was the ability to efficiently do large loads. Over recent days, I have had consistent leaking. I suspect we may have water damage below the floor, but no visible staining of the lower ceiling as of yet. I am constantly washing towels that I have to use to clean up the mess from routine use of the appliance. This product is a lemon. There should be some sort of buy back or trade in for some other, more useful washing machine.

Ive read so many negative reviews about LG refrigerators not working that this seems superfluous but I need to vent. We purchased a side-by-side refrigerator/freezer 3 years ago during a kitchen remodel. It is a counter-depth with water and ice in the door. About 6 weeks ago, the refrigerator stopped cooling. We put a thermometer inside and the temperature was 57 degrees. We contacted our retailer, Abt, who immediately sent out a tech person and determined, with the assistance of LG tech, that the freezer fan wasnt working. The part was ordered, new fan installed, and the refrigerator temperature remained at 57 degrees. We called Abt again, tech came out and again, with the help of the LG tech, determined it was now the refrigerator fan. Part ordered, part replaced, temp still 57. Abt ordered a new control board, at the suggestion of LG tech, part ordered, couldnt be installed because it was the wrong part.We finally contacted LG. After long waits, requests to speak to managers, etc., we were finally referred to their Executive Services. Im guessing that this department handles difficult situations (or difficult people, although I havent been difficult until now, 7 weeks later). LG sent out their tech. Tech announced that the refrigerator was installed improperly because it fit too tightly in the cabinetry. Ok, this is a counter-depth, built-in refrigerator. Huh?So, LG Executive Services was called again. We asked for the installation manual and were directed to the online version. While the Exec. Services person (Tish) was on the phone, we read, aloud and together, the specs which stated the unit needs 1/8 on either side and minimum of 2 from the wall to the back of the refrigerator. The unit was installed properly. Tish insisted that it isnt and made me wait while she chatted with Engineering. Apparently, Engineering stated that there needed to be 1 on top for air flow. I asked Tish how I would have known that since its not published in the installation manual and I want a copy of that. 8 days have gone by and Ive not received anything. When I followed up today with Jenna, she said that, because I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, the engineers will send the info to the BBB and they will respond to me. REALLY???Between the dates of April 4th and today, April 11th, Ive exchanged 12 emails with Marianne, at Executive Services, to no end. LG tech came out, again, with a 2nd tech at 7:30 PM! After much discussion, they determined it must be the control board or the sealed system. The control board was ordered and installed. Our interior refrigerator temperature is now 61 degrees from 57!! What a joke. So... today I spoke to 3 people at Executive Services: Tamica (totally useless), Willie and Jenna. Jenna seemed to at least want to do something. I shared that our daughter is getting married in 4 days, we are having a 40 person brunch on Easter Sunday, and I have no freaking refrigerator. The latest is... Jenna contacted the Tech Department and they want to put in a datalogger to clarify the issue. I asked what that meant, she didnt know. I asked how long it would be in the fridge, she didnt know. She said she sent an email to the tech engineer, tech manager, and Tech Support manager asking these questions. Do you think the problem with getting anything done has to do with too much weight at the top? Anyway, we have an appointment Thursday so the tech can put in a datalogger, whatever the hell it does.I cant even describe the frustration and anger held towards this company. I would have given them a 1 because, obviously, their products arent meant to last, but some of the folks at Executive Services and our tech have been nice and most seem to want to help. I wouldnt recommend LG products to anyone, ever, unless they want to be totally frustrated and throw money out of the window. Our previous refrigerator lasted 19 years and it was a Whirlpool... no brainer.[Updated on 04/20/2017] Felt my previous review needed updating and lowered my rating from 2* to 1. I still dont have a functioning refrigerator. Jenna, at LG, promised the datalogger, which never happened. After she contacted their tech people, they deemed my refrigerator installed improperly, again, and said sorry, we cant help you. So, after sending out their techs 4 times, replacing the motherboard, ordering the sealed unit, this is their decision? The unit is installed in accordance with the installation manual on line. Their engineers came up with different specs. Coincidentally, their cant fix it edict came on the heels of my response to their response to my complaint to the Better Business Bureau. Hmmmm... After reading the 1700+ complaints about LG products, the majority being refrigerators, Ive decided to take this further. I am contacting my local news station, newspaper and the Attorney General, if need be. PLEASE... EVERYONE WHO IS OR HAS EXPERIENCED THE LACK OF SERVICE, and refrigeration, from LG, TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL. LETS GET THIS CRAPPY COMPANY OUT OF OUR STORES.

$2500 refrigerator lasted 32 months - After our ice maker started squirting water everywhere and freezing up, we were told wed need a whole new door to the tune of $600. While we were waiting for the door to ship, the whole fridge stopped cooling. Everything in the fridge and freezer was ruined. The Geek Squad diagnosed the problem as a sealed system issue, which they are not allowed to work on. Parts, but not labor, are covered by LG, but you have to find your own repairman, and then LG will eventually send them an authorization letter to do the work. We are not willing to spend over $1,000 to fix a $2,500 fridge, when the repairs are not even guaranteed. LG has not responded to my email, and Ive just read many other reviews by people who got tired of waiting for satisfaction from LG, cut their losses, and bought another (not LG) refrigerator. LG knows people cant live that long without refrigeration, so they just stall until people give up. LG BUYER BEWARE!

Four weeks ago, my LFX25960SW LG Refrigerator displayed an ER dH error code on the front door panel. All of my food was warm and the fridge was not cooling. I called LG (what a circle jerk) and was referred to A&E Service. I called and was told that I would have to wait a week for someone to come out. He came out and said that it was the bimetal heater, which he doesnt carry in his truck and would have to be ordered. It was shipped to my house in 4 days. I had to wait another week for the serviceman to come back. He took off the old one and put the new one in, but when my husband checked the part he took off, it was working. The serviceman said that it might be the circuit board, and that he would order it. A few hours after he left, the error code came back and the fridge was warm again.I wasnt confident that the part was ordered, so I called LG myself to order it and found out that the serviceman hadnt ordered the part. It came 5 days later but we had to wait another week for the serviceman to come back. He put in the new circuit board but within 5 hours after he left, the error code was back and the fridge was warm again. Luckily, we had a small fridge in the garage; but it was getting pretty annoying humping bags of food back and forth. I just called LG again today and was told that they would call A&E and look into the matter, and call me back. As of yet, there has been no phone calls. I guess its going to be another day of waiting for the phone to ring. The time Ive wasted on the phone with LG and A&E and on waiting for the repairman have been very frustrating, and my fridge still doesnt work.I live in Missouri and actually called a repairman I know in Chicago. He told me that he doesnt even work on LG because you cant get parts and theyre nothing but junk. I wish I had known before I bought this high priced piece of crap. As many others have stated, if I could provide zero stars I would!!! Do not buy even if other reviews are good. Its not if its when your product will default. Weve had our LG refrigerator for less than 3 years, and bought the extended warranty. Unfortunately, its been nothing but trouble. We are currently out of a refrigerator and LG still has yet to come up with a solution or a reliable repair company. The first issue was the fan in the freezer compartment which was fixed and covered under warranty. Now its the compressor, which for anyone thats not aware does have a 5-year manufacturer warranty that we would not have known until someone told us and it wasnt LG. The company that LG contracted out came to repair (the company actually had horrible reviews online) but guess what folks our refrigerator still is not working and we are at 4 weeks. I would like to add for anyone experiencing issues to file a complaint with the BBB which I just finished. Its too soon to determine if this will help mitigate the process but its worth pursuing. As there is more than 270 pages of complaints on this site alone.

I agree with the majority of the people regarding LG fridge. I purchased an expensive counter depth fridge 5 years and 7 months ago and it completely broke down. Not the compressor but a leakage within the wall of the fridge so it cannot be repaired. I paid $125 to the LG technician to come and inspect to tell me that it cannot be repaired and that I should get a new fridge. The technician also let me know that the leakage was a manufacturing issue not wear and tear. I am aware of the LG settlement and was shy of 7 months to claim anything. LG refuses to do anything about it. So basically all their products are useless. I will never purchase another LG product and will make sure that everyone I know do the same. Worse service and company. They knew about the defects but did nothing. Where is the accountability???

Put food in microwave, pressed the EZ ON BUTTON which will heat food for 30 seconds. The microwave started for about 1 second and then immediately just died. After about a minute it powered on was asking for the clock setting. It acted like it does when the power goes out. This microwave did this one time yesterday also. I entered and set the clock time and then input 1 minute time and, almost as soon as I pressed the start button, the microwave died again only this time it did not revive. It appears to be completely dead and is only about 16 months old (purchased October 2014). This is the first LG appliance I have ever owned and likely will be the last. I paid good money for this appliance and wish I hadnt thrown out the old one. It was rusted some inside but had been working for almost 20 years!! This stainless microwave model number(s) listed on instruction booklet: LCRT2010ST, LSRM2010ST. So very disappointed. Made in China. Maybe thats why.

I purchased an LG refrigerator with french doors and bottom freezer in April 2007 from Best Buy. Model #LFD22860TT and manufactured in Mexico in 2007. It had multiple problems ranging from the seals of the doors tearing, the clips to keep the doors closed breaking off, the digital panel on the left french door not displaying properly, the ice maker not turning off and, most recently (yesterday), I found the light bulbs in the fridge did not turn off.The heat of the light bulbs burned the casing. It melted the casing causing it to fall off. It was also warped, as was the top of the fridge. A lot of the food in the fridge was melted and spoiled. I called LG regarding the issues each time and was advised that they were not under warranty and would have to be replaced at my expense, except for this last light bulb problem.I called LG and they gave me the number of a local repairman to call and indicated they would pay for the repair caused by the lights. The repairman came the following day and advised that the unit could not be fixed back to looking new. He could replace the light fixture and the cover but that the cover would not be the same and would not fit properly. He was going to call LG to see if they could possibly replace the fridge since the problems couldnt be repaired. He will call me back once he has an answer.

LG French refrigerator is only 4 years old and it just stopped cooling, causing all of the food to spoil. Customer service is a complete joke. Most appliance repair companies will not even attempt to work on LG since customer support is a total farce. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT PURCHASE ANY LG APPLIANCES.

Bought LG LMXC23746S/00 around 4 years ago. Quite expensive, over $3500. The sealed compressor broke. This is what the technician said, I wouldnt charge you $600 for the Freon if I know your fridge will get the same problem in 2 months. Another company wont even come out to service. This is what that company said: Sorry, I dont provide this service. I suggest calling LG if under 5 years. If older replace unit. LG is known for sealed system issues. We no longer work on LG sealed system because of their known issues. We cant warranty something that we know doesnt last. Actually, 2 years after we got this fridge, the plastic shelf start to crack and some part broke up like crackers. Well, so much for a 4 years old LG fridge. I recommend to stay away from LG refrigerator.

The LG washer/steam (model Wm2699HNM) broke after 5 years. I called LG and the girl in India wanted to troubleshoot the problem over the phone before referring me to a repairman. I did troubleshoot with her to no avail and then she gave me the number of a repairman. The repairman came out and thought it was the motor. He opened it up to repair it and found that the drum had become detached from the spinner. He said he had never seen this happen on an LG washer. I sent LG an email and didnt receive a response. Then, I called them the next day. They stated that the drum had a lifetime warranty and the motor had a 10-year warranty, but there was nothing they could do for me for this problem. I spoke to an executive manager for the problem and he stated he was sorry that he couldnt help me since my washer was over a year old!

I bought this very expensive refrigerator 3 years and have had nothing but problems. The first issues was the water line for the icemaker was leaking into the door, the entire icemaker and door needed to be replaced. (tons of black mold on the door that was removed). Then last year the compressor broke and needed to be replaced. Now the compressor is broken again and needs to be replaced. The repair guys from LG were here today, but they dont have any parts so I have to wait another week before they will put the part in. I have 80 people coming to my house for a party this weekend and no refrigerator!!!

I bought an LG refrigerator and it broke, and I had a horrible experience. The customer service people were polite. But the whole system is not set up properly, so they could not fix my refrigerator for three weeks. And no one can live without a refrigerator that long. So, I had to buy a new one. And I didn’t go with LG. My LG was a two and a half year old refrigerator. Nobody spends $1,800 every two years. While it worked, it was good. We had no problem. But once it broke, the maintenance support was very bad. And I was not the only one. There were reviews after reviews about people having the same experience with getting the repair done.
