I purchased an LG refrigerator (Model LFX31925ST) on Nov. 25, 2011. On Feb. 10, 2012 (less than 3 months later), the refrigerator stopped working. I called LG for repair and they sent a repairman 5 days later who told me it was broke (no **) and he would have to order parts. They were ordered 5 days later. 2 days later, I called the repair service, Expert Appliance Repair and they said one of the parts was backordered with no ETA. They suggested I call LG again to see if I could get an ETA or a replacement. I did this, and after a lot of stonewalling, I was told I was out of luck that I would have to wait on parts and that there was no ETA. I now have a refrigerator that broke down after a couple of months and have currently gone 12 days with no refrigerator. Never mind the cost of lost food/frustration. LG is the worst company I have ever dealt with.

Purchased from Home Depot on 8/6/2016. Have had problem of ice forming in freezer from the beginning. Have purchase 5 year extended warranty. To date, have had following work orders from Home Depot: ** 4/18/18, ** 9/27/18, ** 3/19/19, ** 4/22/19, ** 5/19/19 and they cannot fix problem. LG Work orders ** 6/3/19 and ** 6/24/19. Same problem still exists. Home Depot is supposed to replace unit if they cannot fix it after three attempts to correct problem, but now seem to be getting the run-around from them. Can LG help me on this matter?

I bought an LG refrigerator in 2013 and the warranty for the compressor was 10 years. In 2017 it stopped working and we spent over $700 and 5 months trying to repair it. After 4 months of the repairs it stopped working again and LG wanted to charge again for repairs and never offered to replace the unit. The appliance was a piece of junk and LG was not willing to offer a viable solution. It was a waste of money, time and food! I will never buy another LG appliance again. Terrible service!

I purchased a bottom freezer LG refrigerator three years ago. I opened the door and discovered there was no power to it. I just had a repairman examine it. It blew a simple fuse, but the fuses are soldered in so it cost me $400 to replace the control panel. Thats one-third the cost of the entire refrigerator. And its only three years old! I was looking at an LG TV, but I have now decided to never again purchase one of their products. My old, no frills Kenmore refrigerator was still going strong after 20 years. I decided to replace it with this one to improve the energy efficiency.

I bought an LG refrigerator from Sears in May 2015. In June 2019, my freezer stopped making ice. Long story short: an LG technician diagnosed the problem as a compressor/sealed system failure. LG agreed to a courtesy repair but after three visits the LG technician submitted a report to the company declaring the unit unrepairable. Since then, the company has delayed and deflected and made follow up and follow through extremely difficult. I cannot reach a service manager on the phone. I am not sure whether I will be compensated for my losses. I know there is a class-action lawsuit against LG on this very issue. I may well end up joining it. There is no reason why a four-year-old perfectly maintained refrigerator should fail after four years. It should be covered under the manufacturers warranty.

Our French door fridge with bottom freezer stopped cooling/freezing. The fridge has a production date of 07/2017. I called the service department and the earliest appointment is June 17th. I called today at 9:30 am June 8th. As a result I have had to purchase a small fridge as going 10 days without a fridge is not possible. The computer board failed shortly after expiration of Manufacturers Warranty. There was a class action lawsuit which allowed additional extension of repairs related to the Refrigerator computer board which in my case covered the repairs. The automatic ice maker failed and allowed water to continue flowing which resulted in a flooded kitchen floor. To solve the ice maker problem I disconnected the water supply line to the ice maker and no longer use the auto ice maker. I find the seal for the lower freezer will not seal properly in one spot but I can live with that.

We purchased a LG 25 cu ft refrigerator on 11-21-13. Not a small expense, $1400.00, on sale, too. Model LFC25776ST. It lasted less than 2 years. We called the company, and got NO more than an answering machine, leave your message, and well call you back. NOTHING happened. There was NO response from the company. I will NEVER do business with LG again, and am still angry at the lack of concern or even response from the company. LG has shown exactly NO corporate responsibility.

Purchased new refrigerator from RC Willey 18 months ago with our new house, have had an LG frontload washer and dryer for over 7 years without an issue. Fridge had great reviews and we really liked the door-in-door. Has worked flawlessly until yesterday. Found water all over the floor (luckily we found it quickly and cleaned it up, it would have eventually ruined our laminate floors (except I have not pulled out the fridge to check underneath). Checked with the manual and went through all the troubleshooting, nothing worked. Called customer service, and they quickly set-up a case number and scheduled a technician to come and see what is wrong. Had the service company call me the next day and confirm an appointment for the following day (Good so far, right? Except all of our frozen food is thawed. Luckily my wife is a florist and she has a floral cooler that we put our refrigerated items in). Two hours later the same person called back and said that they cant do the service call, they do not do LG warranty work. They would call LG and have them schedule someone else. Wanting to make sure that no-one dropped the ball, having no fridge/freezer is a major inconvenience, I called LG service back and asked if the cancellation had been taken care of and a new service company scheduled. It had not. The customer service person was apologetic and said that they needed to get an authorized service company scheduled to come service the refrigerator, because not all companies are equipped to handle cooling issues. Why wasnt this already figured into the request? The person also let me know that the service will hopefully get set up tomorrow (Friday 1/18/2019), and I should hear back next Monday or Tuesday. They gave me another case number. So I went back to the original text response I received from LG Customer Service, it indicated an authorized repair service located 68 miles away. Except I called them and they wont do any work on LG refrigerators without a work authorization code from LG. A cooling issue? They told me they arent equipped to work on LG cooling issues anyway. So then I started looking on-line to see if this was a common problem. Way too many nightmare customer service stories for an issue that is an obvious defect. I would not choose to be without a fridge/freezer for any length of time, and would want to replace it with another product quickly. Pretty disappointed in this product that was pretty expensive.

I purchased 2 sets of LG appliances. Both of the dryers have sensor drying that has never worked properly. I have called people out who tell me it is the vents that need cleared. After having that done, it still takes hours, literally to dry things. Sometimes I just give up and hang things in my bathtub to dry. I do not recommend this brand. Model DLG3744W. Refrigerator model LMX 28988ST - The manual for the appliance states that all sealed components are covered by a 7 year warranty for parts. Our freezer failed and on calling LG, we were required to pay $195 under their One Price program for all parts & labour associated with the service call. The technician deemed that the part was not repairable and that the entire appliance has to be replaced. LG now claims that the paperwork side of this takes 10 business days to resolve and we will only get a Prorated value of the appliance. To me, its simple - a part covered by warranty must be repaired, replaced, or the consumer otherwise kept whole. One thing is certain - I may be forced into a replacement LG unit, but is the last LG product of any kind I will ever buy.

It met all my standard and recommend to everyone. The price was reasonable too. The color and style I loved and was exactly what I was looking for. I will always buy an LG fridge and tell everyone about it. I loved the ice maker and there was so much room for me to store all my groceries. Very clean and open. Loved the space on the doors and had enough room for all the condiments. The shelves were perfectly spaced and had enough room. There is nothing really that I did not like about it. It was exactly what I was looking for and the price range was perfect.

My recently purchased LG oven temperatures are totally erratic, occasionally getting so hot as to turn on my smoke detector. While under warranty and after long delays, a service tech came out and made an adjustment. This did not fix the problem and now that my warranty is expired, they want to charge me for another visit. All of the known reliable repair people in my area refuse to work on LG products. I started to troubleshoot the problem on my own and found loose screws, stripped screw heads, and other assembly and manufacturing defects. Im telling all my friends, dont buy LG!

Purchased LG appliance package from Home Depot 11/12/11. June of 2015 the microwave blew up and will not function. Contacted a repairman who was told by LG service this microwave was no longer manufactured and no parts available. I purchased a new microwave only to find out that I can no longer get a microwave with the dimensions of 29 1/2L x 15 1/2H x 15D. Unfortunately, we have previously installed new glass backsplash tiles which will have to be cut to fit a new microwave. These were special order tiles! When I contacted LG, I was told, Sorry, we now have a throw away society. This was after 3 different calls to customer service and being told my case was in for review! Also concerned about larger dimensions leaving only 13 3/4 clearance between stovetop and microwave.

Like Nate of Duarte, CA wrote on March 26, 2014 -- by end of 2006 purchased LG LFC25760ST. Had the same issue with the light fixture housing in the refrigerator compartment header, not once but twice. My photos look exactly like his. Last service they replaced the entire electronic board and installed a new light fixture housing also recommending use of lower watt (40 watt) bulbs. This occurred Aug. 2012. At the time I stated I was concerned about possible impact whatever lies above the refrigerator header (refrigerant tubes?). It appeared the plastic header was melted completely through in at least 3 locations. Now I have refrigerant smell in the refrigerator. Service call is tomorrow, so well see what happens but suspect cost to address what I believe are issues with the refrigerant system may be so exorbitant that it may be more prudent to replace after a bit over 8 years than to repair. I dont understand how this fire hazard can be so prevalent for so many years and nothing appears to have been done. If there is a class action suit, I will gladly participate, as this refrigerator is in my opinion, a fire hazard at the very least.

Bought an LG, top-load washer, 3 years ago, model # WT1101CW. There are only 3 of us in the household so the washer was used lightly. Last night it decided to commit suicide. The washer plate and the drive shaft assembly broke into pieces while washing a single shirt. I later found out, this was only half of my problem. The following day I spent 3 hours ping-ponging back and forth with LG customer service (which is in the Philippines... ie, broken English) and Encompass, their third-party parts department. Neither can answer any technical questions and will only ask for a part number.I finally received a phone number for technical questions, but upon calling had to provide a service ID number, which I dont have because I am not a certified technician. Now LG is telling me not to fix it myself, but to call a service technician. I called and they said they would send someone out within 7 days and they would look at it and order parts and that would take another 7-10 days. Once the parts arrive they will send a service technician out to fix it. So, I can use a laundromat for the next 2 to 3 weeks, and then pay a hefty repair bill, or I can just go buy another washing machine from a reputable company that actually provides customer service, and in English. Never again LG! Only 3 years and this LG washer will now be in a landfill. If everybody knew how poorly built these machines are and the non-existent customer that LG provides, LG would be out of business. I can only hope at this point.

Top of the line did not last 3 years. It stopped getting cold. We know that happens but the customer service is the worst I have ever seen. I have been on the phone for 2 days now at least 5 hours and they first scheduled a repair with MODERN APPLIANCE SERVICE who said they would be here between 8 and 12 pm on Wed and at 11 pm on Wed they called us to inform us it would be 7 days before they could have someone here. We called LG back again and again and now they will call us back when their scheduling dept finds someone to look at it. Our son has diabetes and has to keep his insulin cold and thats not happening and LG could care less. We are buying ice to keep it cold. No one has called us back and we have talked to with 3 managers so far and no one has called us back and we have no service date yet. Wonder how long this will go on? I am getting ready to call them again and spend today on the phone begging for help after spending $4000 on a Refrigerator. Update. We took their phone survey after their 10th call and said we were not happy with the results of the call and they had the ** to call us right back tell me they did not appreciate the review or deserved the low score on the review I gave them. Now we still have a $4000 refrigerator that is not working, cant get anyone to fix it for any amount of money and they have time to call me and tell me they did not like my review. I am speechless. It seems they are not going to help us and I am not sure they will call back now. I think I am going to have to place these reviews every hour until I get some attention. So be it.

We have a had our LG washing machine and dryer now for approximately six years. My washing machine decided to break down and we have called several appliance repair shops and none of them want to work on LG. They say trying to get the parts for them is impossible and they are impossible to work on. I finally found one place that is willing to come out and look at it but they are giving me no guarantee. Last month our LG refrigerator had a spring break on the flapper part of the door. We called several appliance repair places. None of them wanted to work on it because it was LG. I finally talked one into coming out because it was only a spring, right? Well they couldn’t just replace the spring. The whole flapper had to be replaced. Much to our surprise the only flapper that was available took six weeks to get to us. And it cost $300 because a little tiny spring broke. Absolutely ridiculous!!!! We will never ever purchase an LG product again.

It was small but it worked. I just always wanted a bigger and better refrigerator. It was too small and I wanted more features on the refrigerator. I wanted things like an ice maker and a water machine. I need a bigger one. I didnt like the color, or how small it was. It didnt have a lot of space for food for my house because I have a big family. It was old and outdated and we needed a more modern look. And a bigger freezer part on the refrigerator. It was just out of place here with my decor and family size. It would be nice to have wider and taller shelves. I’ve owned this stove for approx 1 1/2 years and in this time my roommate and I have nearly burned the house down TWICE. The knobs are SO easy to accidentally bump and turn on. The first time I had a bag on top of the stove and luckily noticed before it started flaming, but my roommate started an actual full on fire last night with a basket of laundry. I’ve since taken the knobs off, but have read other reviews of people who have done the same, but that bumping the stems actually turns the burners on easier than if the knobs were in place???‍♀️ Ordered some child proofing so we’ll see how that works. LG Inverter Linear compressor went bad 3 weeks ago. This is my second purchase of a LG refrigerator. They came out on November 27 and told us our compressor went bad and would order another one. Needless to say, Thanksgiving dinner was served out of coolers and neighbors spare refrigerators. We have been calling both the LG service department and the service company that LG said would fix our compressor. The service company says they cannot get a compressor when we call them. LG service department says they have them in stock. I have to have the microwave unplugged because, if I plug it in the fan runs and the microwave appears to be running but none of the buttons on the touchpad work so I cannot shut it off. I first contacted Lowes service on Nov. 6 and didnt receive a followup call from LG so I called back on Nov. 9. Finally got a call from a service company on Nov. 10 but they could not get anyone out until the following Wednesday and we were going to be gone. The service company canceled the case and I was told I needed to start the process over when I returned home. I started it again on Nov. 28 and still no call from the service company. Called LG but all they would tell me was that I had to wait until the end of the day. My question to everyone who reads this is: How do we get the big box stores to stop selling LG appliances? LG doesnt seem to care at all about customer satisfaction. Perhaps if Lowes, Home Depot, Best Buy or one of the other big box stores canceled their contract with LG, perhaps LG would look more seriously at the service they provide. Any suggestions on how consumers could accomplish this?

Lost Enbrel shots (3K worth), all condiments, fruit, veggies, etc. There are no provisions from LG to compensate you at all for any loss. No fridge in the interim to live? - LG not concerned. A local appliance company sent me a loaner when things got desperate. The lack of quick follow-up, poor attitude on the phone, lack of interest in finding a repair company that will come out to fix the appliance and a general interest in taking care of the problem was outrageous. Literally have never had this kind of experience. 3 months... Why didnt LG recognize it might be a bad unit and move to replace the appliance? I will tell everyone I know, the builder who has much of the business here, neighbors, workmates, etc. to not buy LG appliances. That is my only power as a consumer. I understand if things break - what I dont understand is a company failing to stand behind a $2600.00 appliance that is 3 months old. Shame on LG!

I purchased an LG (Model: 1390179) Fridge with the double French doors or ice maker package. The French door on the right side has an extremely poor hinge. It was probably made from weak material because it easily breaks after a short time. Now, I dont have the ice maker feature or any other of the digital programs since my door does not shut properly. I have been waiting for the replacement part for the last four months. What is the matter with this picture? I paid over two thousand dollars for this piece of garbage.

I purchased an LG Dishwasher model number LDF7811WW for $610.00. From day 1, the thing never really cleaned our dishes (we also rinse them before putting them in the dishwasher too). This is our timeline with this lovely dishwasher: purchased it on 4-27-08. It wasn’t cleaning dishes, so on 3-26-09, I called there repair number. A guy came out and adjusted the cam for the upper and lower spray arms. It was still not cleaning dishes. I called the repair number again on 5-18-09. A serviceman came out again, had to replace the motor. On 3-22-10, it was having problems again not cleaning dishes. I called their repair number and a guy came out. He had to replace the sump assembly (which he said was the guts of the dishwasher). On 7-25-11, I had to call yet again. The dishwasher was not cleaning dishes. I called their number, he again had to replace the sump assembly (the guts of the dishwasher) and now it is 11 -2-12, I’m having trouble again. So within 4 years, I have had the major components of the dishwasher replaced 3 times and I’m sure it’s going to be the fourth when the guy comes again later this week. I called customer service for LG and they pass the buck and say it is up to my extended warranty people, which thank God we purchased (because we usually don’t). They say that the part has to go bad 3 times within a year to be considered for the lemon law. Well, if you ask me this is a lemon. I should have kept my 20-year-old Whirlpool dishwasher which I never had a problem with but just was updating the kitchen so we replaced it. Big mistake! In my opinion, this is not standing behind their product. I’m sure, to them people $610.00 is nothing, but in this household, it is very hard to come by and I want to get what I paid for. I could have bought lemons much cheaper at the grocery store. Buyers beware.

What a horrible product! The oven is completely uneven, the warming drawer doesnt warm and worst of all, the core inside the knobs keep breaking. They are made of a very poor plastic and now I find out they are 69.00 US a pop!! (I am Canadian so right now 100.00 x 5 knobs.) Cheaper to buy a new stove!!! I have asked just for the cores, but of course, they only sell the knob and thus I throw more LG crap into landfill. I have tried to talk to management but all I get is the poor woman who answers the phone to read to me their no response! I will never buy LG again! This was a 2000.00 investment for my new kitchen - the worst worst purchase ever!

The electric stove is a double oven LG. It is dangerous. When you are cooking or lean over it turns the knobs on the front way too easily. Just a little pressure and the burner is on. Our family has had this happen all the time and we always check to make sure it’s not on. We also purchased their microwave at the same time. That caught fire inside. I wouldn’t recommend their products.

My experience with this washer has been completely unacceptable. When attempting to run a small load, the machine shuts down completely during the spin cycle due to imbalance. On one occasion it took over three hours to complete a small load as the load had to be redistributed and the washer restarted on three/four separate occasions. When I e-mailed LG regarding this problem I was told to check the circuit breaker!! This is a design flaw. LG as well as some other manufacturers have eliminated the costly, heavy and expensive transmissions found in earlier washers with a system that just plain doesnt work. The agitation is so poor that clothing in the middle of the load barely gets wet much less cleaned. I am tired of removing dirty laundry from this machine after the load is done.

Refrigerator compressor died. Called LG. The repairman did not show 2 times at the scheduled day even when I called the day of, they said he would be there for sure, he didn’t. Rescheduled each time for 2 weeks later. Then he showed without parts although we knew is was the compressor and came back in two weeks. I had no refrigerator for about 6 weeks and lost $1000 worth of fresh and frozen food. They try to make it so hard you give up trying. I called both LG and the repair people 20 times each. They said they would reimburse me for lost food but I will probably never get it.

My refrigerator (LSXS22423) a side by side is 2 years and 3 months old. Wasnt making ice Sunday and by Monday everything in freezer was thawed. The compressor is shot!! Really... 2 years??? I was told by a person who SELLS LG refrigerators that he wouldnt recommend them to anyone. Their compressors are known to die after about 2 years... Really?? He said even if you wanted to repair it they would use the same compressor model that failed and since so many of them are failing we are looking at a 3 to 4 month wait-list... Really?? I bought a whole new LG kitchen 2 years ago. My fault I did not read the reviews first. Totally my fault, but when you pay $1700 for a fridge you expect more than two years out of it. I had a GE before and had it for 18 years. Still worked when I bought my precious LG. I am a senior who has to watch his money and this situation just makes me sick. I dont deserve this nor do any of the other LG customers who have been screwed. Where is the Quality Control?? It is a crime and you should be ashamed. 2 years... REALLY?? Yeah, really!!!

I purchased an LG refrigerator on June 4, 2019. LG delivered the refrigerator a few weeks later and unfortunately, it was severely damaged when it arrived at my residence. The delivery company returned the damaged unit and delivered another refrigerator a week later. The 2nd refrigerators left door contained the water and ice dispenser of which neither worked. I spoke with LG customer service and they indicated that a local repair company would come out and assess the issue. National Platinum Services was the local company and it took them two weeks to show up and when they did, they were not able to diagnose the problem. There has been no follow up since they left so currently I am still waiting on how this situation is going to be resolved. Bottom line is that LG doesnt seem to value good customer service so in the future I will look elsewhere when shopping for any product that they may market to the public.

I bought this Sears Kenmore Elite French door fridge in late 2007 (Model 795.755.46401). Within a couple years (but out of warranty), lots of little things started to go bad. As others have mentioned, the plastic latches at the top of the doors broke, and then the latches for the tilt out vegetable drawer fronts broke, and then the slides on the drawers broke, and the hardware that supports the bottom shelf broke - etc. The whole interior is made of parts too flimsy to last for the useful life of a refrigerator. Then the front door water dispenser stopped working, and just recently the whole front display went out and the main compartment lost temperature control and started freezing everything. Im a handy guy (and an electronics engineer), so I ordered and replaced the main board and then the display board, as they were the obvious failure points. That didnt fix the problem, so I dug in deeper. It turns out that the wires inside the front left door that go up through the hinge have broken. I could deal with that if the failure was at an accessible point (at the hinge one would expect), but I eventually figured out that the wires have broken somewhere inside the door. The wires are apparently molded into the door and cannot be replaced, so I have a $2,000+ refrigerator crippled by a bad 10-cent piece of wire and an astonishingly stupid design that makes that wire part of a $400 door assembly.Like I said, I am a handy guy, so I routed a very thin and not too ugly replacement wire on the exterior of the door to replace the broken wire inside the door, and for now the fridge is back in business. Ill join the many posters in this blog who will steer clear of all LG appliances in the future.

This has the same style filter as all of my previous dishwashers, but this ones filter assembly does not come apart for cleaning. When the glasses have sandy bits left on them I remove the lower spray arm and the water guide tube on the back and take out the grids, screens, and mesh screens in the bottom. After brushing and rinsing everything I put it back together and it is good to go for another 6-8 months. The problem with this unit is that the lower screens, grids, and mesh is one-piece. It does not come apart. There is trapped grunge inside and I can shake some of it out, but most of it remains trapped. I called the company. She just kept repeating the manual- It is self-cleaning, you do not need to clean it, removing it voids the warranty. The manager said to call the repair technician. I ordered her to send me to their service/repair department so they can advise me how to clean this unit. She said they wont speak to me unless I am an authorized technician with an official technician number. She kept trying to set me up with an appointment with a repairman- while telling me that the warranty wont cover this. I will have to rinse and shake the filter unit and hope I can get out; if not, I can order a new one from Sears for $60.

If I could I would have NO STAR - We’ve had nothing but bad luck with our LG appliances- first of all our dishwasher -the control panel went haywire 5 months after we got it- well that happened 2 more times since. When we built our home we also bought an LG gas range, refrigerator and microwave. So last year we went to Alaska and when we came home in August the stove control panel also had gone haywire. You cannot properly read the numbers that tell you the temperature/time so when you set the temperature you have no idea what youre setting it to. Called LG and after hours on the phone with them to get it repaired they did NOTHING. Our cost to find out by the repairman (we paid for) that to fix it we would spend more than what a new oven would cost. It is barely over a year old and possibly failed prior to being a year old! 2 days ago we woke up to our LG French door refrigerator inside as warm as our room temperature and everything inside ruined. It is just barely 2 years old! Called LG for repairs- ended up having to get our own repair guy, and it has a bad compressor, won’t read codes, and needs a new control board. The repairman said it’s an extensive repair and could possibly fail again easily (read class action law suit on them). Called LG back and now we have to wait to hear from Service Power to see if anyone can fix it. They offered NOTHING for the loss of food but would send us up to $200 for a mini fridge- and he’d send us an email for doing so- still waiting for that. These appliances cost thousands of dollars! Buyer Beware!!! They are junk!

We have a four-year-old LG Dishwasher (LDF6920ST) that caught fire at 2 am in the morning a few weeks ago. Thankfully, our oldest son was awake and heard a loud popping noise that caused him to investigate and we were able to turn the unit off before it burned down our kitchen. The repairman who looked at the unit found that the main circuit board in the door caught fire. It is important to note that the motor has burned in the unit as well. A member of the LG executive team that works on these problems told me that fires happen in all sorts of LG appliances and that they repair the unit! We are completely afraid of this product, based on the many other examples of fires we have read about and we want a refund. Dont buy LG.

We purchased an LG front load washer at Home Depot. Only after it was installed could we, and did we, learn that it vibrates incredibly loud on a firm modern floor regardless of the load and balance, and due to its very high spin speed. Home Depot and LG refuse to exchange it for a top loader. A Home Depot representative admitted that they intentionally do not mention that problem to potential purchasers. LG does not even respond to our many forms of contact. They both claim that the machine is working as designed, which can only mean that the design is defective. In our opinion, no one should purchase an LG front loader washer. We have had to resort to ridiculous and only partially successful steps to dampen the vibration and noise, such as cramming pool noodles around the washer (see attached photo).

After having a house fire and needing all new appliances, we decided to go with an LG 4 piece kitchen appliance package from Home Depot for nearly $3,000. Within 5 years (right after the extended warranty we purchased had expired) the dishwasher stopped draining. We ate the cost of that and got rid of it and purchased one from a competitor. We have also had problems with our oven, sometimes it will go through periods where it wont turn on, then its fine the next day. Again, we are just dealing with that at this point since we cant afford to purchase a new one right now. Finally, we are now dealing with our refrigerator. At $1600 our refrigerator has stopped working due to a bad compressor at less than 8 years old. There is only one technician in our area that LG will let repair this, and while the part is still covered by the manufacturer warranty, the labor is going to be between $500 and $700. This is ridiculous! We had so many options when choosing our appliances and we put our trust and money into LG. We have been living out of a mini fridge for two weeks because we dont have the money to make this repair. After reading all of the same complaints about this refrigerator, LG should be held accountable and make this right for their customers!

My wife and I purchased a new LG WT5070CW washing machine in January of 2013. This is a top loading machine. We started to experience mold/mildew smells from the machine shortly after we purchased it. We use high-efficiency soap, use very limited amounts of soap, dry out the entire machine (including the top lip of the washing tub) after every use, remove and empty the soap detergent/softener dish after every use, plus dry it out. We have used commercial after-market mold/mildew solutions to treat the machine. We have also used bleach rinses and vinegar rinses. We purchased a carbon filter bag that we place in the machine when not in use. Nothing seems to help and the smell is getting worse. So much so, that we are considering purchasing a new machine. We contacted LG about our problem and got a canned email response... do this and do that... all of which we had explained to LG earlier that we had already done. By canned, we mean it appears to us as if this response was meant for their front loading machines, as it mentioned making sure to wipe dry the gasket on the door of the machine. Our top loading machine does not have a gasket on the lid. We responded to LGs suggested fixes and asked to talk to a supervisor about this problem. So far, nothing from LG. The LG washing machine and dryer combination were not cheap. LGs customer service department along with their engineering department leave a lot to be desired. We ditched our LG phones earlier this year for Samsung and will probably do the same with the washing machine... although I am not sure what we will replace it with. LG products are problematic and I suspect will not have a lot of repeat buyers.

Zero stars would be more like it! I have had an LG Steam Dryer for 2.5 years. It has never worked. I fortunately did purchase the Extended Service Plan from Home Depot. I have had it repaired 6 times and thats 12 service calls. It will heat a little for a few weeks and then stop working all together. The 6th repair, it didnt even heat the day the repair was done. Since then, Ive called numerous times and Assurant (the provided for Home Depots service plan) wont get back to me, wont send anyone to fix it, wont start a claim. I see it falls into the Lemon Law but if they can drag their feet for another month, one of the repairs falls off and then it isnt the Lemon Law any more. They refuse to do anything to help. Ive called Home Depot Corporate to see if they would do anything to help and was told no, you need to work with Assurant. I have also called the Gas Company to look at it to make sure it was hooked up correctly to begin with. It is hooked up correctly but they said the flame is so huge that its a total fire hazard and is now completely unhooked. So Im left with a $1200+ piece of junk and no way to dry any clothes. I will never shop at Home Depot nor will I buy LG anything again. Dont believe reviews that say LG is in the top for dryers because believe me, they are all junk!

Our current problem is that the freezer stopped cooling and now the refrigerator isn’t able to keep a normal temperature. Of course, this happened shortly after we took an expensive Covid-style trip to the grocery store, so we are slowly losing hundreds of dollars in food. We suspect it’s the compressor. We’ve struggled with this fridge since we bought it. For the first year, we had issues with it making unusually loud noises. After hours and hours of service visits and calls, they replaced the compressor. Now it seems like the “new” compressor is failing after about 18 months. The size and physical design of the fridge is great, but not worth the headaches.

On 4/14 I contacted LG Direct Service regarding my refrigerator not cooling
On 4/14 I contacted LG Direct Service regarding my refrigerator not cooling. The refrigerator was no longer under warranty so they suggested some local service providers. At this point the service rep offer me a service contract for the unit, explaining that I would have a 60 day service contract for a cost of $365.04 and they would send a technician out to fix the unit on 4/17 between 8:00 am and 12:00. On 4/17 the technician was a no show. I contacted LG Direct Service regarding the matter. That had no answer for me and kept referring me to Assurance, who apparently is a third party to actually held the service contract that I thought I got from LG Direct Services. This whole time I had been dealing directly with LG as implied by the name. In any event, Assurance informed me that he was only service provider in my area, and that they would send another request to him. So I was told now that the technician would be arriving between 8-12:00 on 4/19. LG Provided me with the number of the provider so I attempted to contact him on 4/18 in an effort to confirm the appointment. After numerous attempts with no answer other than a recording with a full mailbox, I contacted LG Direct Service again. I explained that I could not contact the provider and needed to have this appointment confirmed. They attempted to contact the provider but had the same response that I did. After 2 hours of mostly being on hold listen to a recording tell me over and over again that they know how valuable my time is, I am informed that the guy will not be coming tomorrow. He rejected the request for the service. It turns out he rejected the first request for service as well. So the appointment that LG Direct Service told me I had, never even existed. No phone call or e-mail to let me know. So I took off of work for no reason. Had I not called on 4/18, the same thing would have happened. Now LG just keeps trying to pass the buck onto Assurance. LG tells me that the technician that didnt show is the only one they have in my area even though they had already given me the names of three other service providers. The fact is he is the only one that is on the Assurance list of providers. As a result they now say they can no longer repair my refrigerator. So instead of paying $365.04 for the repair it is now going to cost $900. LG totally misrepresented the service contract of actually being an LG product. I have repeatedly asked LG to stand by the contract they sold me and get another authorized repairman to fix it. They have gone so far as to tell me that they dont have anyone who can make the repair in my area. It should be against the law to sell you a product under the representation that it is their product and not a third partys. The only people I spoke with and was invoiced by was LG Direct Service and they should have to make do on the contract and get my refrigerator fixed and not just offer to cancel the contract and return my money and then have to pay more to someone else. Just for the fact that between time off of work and the 4 hrs plus I have spent on the phone with them should be enough to make them want to do right by the customer.

I purchased washer from Sears on 3/21/13. It is now 6/15/13 and the washer has been out of service for 8 weeks. It is always the same problem, the computer board. The first time it went out, the service person came out and said it would be 10 days to get the parts shipped. It worked for 2 days before going out again. This time, it again took 10 days to get the parts shipped. This worked for 1 day before it went out again. The service guy called and said it was another part and had it shipped another 10 days. When it got here, the service guy said it was the wrong part, so now another 10 days for the parts to ship. In between scheduling for someone to actually come out and repair the machine was always a couple more days. I called LG USA directly and was basically told nothing. Not even a Sorry for your trouble. Their response was that there was nothing that they could do. Apparently, once you buy an LG product, you are on your own. They already have your money so they dont care about anything else. If you see an LG appliance, run away, run far, run fast. Just stay as far away from it as possible. One of the reasons for purchase was the angled and higher control knobs, which I thought would take care of turning the knobs on accidentally. My 12 year old Kenmore Elite range exploded inside while on self cleaning cycle (glad I was home & in the kitchen when it happened). I turned on the knobs accidentally on the Kenmore often, hated that. So got the LG. Well I was still able to turn on the knobs by brushing against them, like others have stated. Definitely a design hazard. So I quickly went to Target and got the childproof knobs covers. I placed them on the 2 outside knobs on the right and left side burners. This left the middle knob uncovered on each side. The covers fit perfectly and NO MORE accidental turning on knobs. I can use all the controls without difficulty. Now the Easy Clean is a joke. It worked two times initially, since then it does nothing except pool water in my oven. The program is 10 minutes per the manual and timer on the range. I now see it says 20 minutes on the website, Hmmmm. At any rate when the cycle is done, the oven isnt warm and the water is COLD. So Im using the self clean mode, well see if it does better. I dont use my oven much. Otherwise, I am fairly happy so far, paid $1600 for the LG. I loved my Kenmore Elite and had no problems until the elements blew up inside & damaged the oven, out of warranty. I hope I get 12 years on this one, glad I purchased extended warranty for 5 years.

I purchased an LG appliance suite. Although Costco extended the warranty another year from the manufacturer I was worried that at the 2 1/2 year mark that we were going to have to pay or replace our refrigerator when the compressor stopped working in December 2018. I had a local appliance repair place came out in determining with the compressor and told me that I should just buy a new refrigerator. I reached out to LG and asked if they were doing anything for customers at the compressors are not laughing the industry standard. I was greeted with sympathy from the LG customer service rep. He looked up my model and told me that I had a 10-year compressor warranty and assured me that hed write up a ticket at no charge for labor or the service call. I was able to get an appointment within three days and the service people were prompt and the repair was done within an hour and a half and my refrigerator is working beautifully. Although Im disappointed that the refrigerator needed a repair at the 2 and 1/2 year mark. I am pleased to say that LG made the repair process a simple one.

Please avoid all LG kitchen appliances if possible. Our refrigerator and dishwasher (both only 2.5 years old) has given us nothing but problem. The fridge started making a loud humming and gurgling noise intermittently about 2 months ago. Then 3 weeks ago, the freezer gave out and the following day the whole thing stopped working. Its been 3.5 weeks and we still dont have a working fridge. Apparently, all parts are shipped from Korea which takes days to weeks to get. Our service provider who was referred by Home Warranty of America (also a horrible warranty company) ordered the wrong part which will take another 7-10 days to get the part. I am livid and fed up. Also, our fickle LG dishwasher has been giving us problems since the day we moved in. It turns on when it wants to. We have to constantly reset the breaker for it to function properly.

Purchase LG refrigerator in 2015, now fridge has Stop working due to failed/defective compressor. Fridge stop cooling, not working since 9.14.2020. Their customer service confirm that this problem is pre-known by LG. (Defective compressor), since they were having lots of issue with same. This compressor is under warranty. (10 years) Repair date received was 9.18.2020, with us paying for cost of repairs. However, on 9.18.2020 LGs technician further diagnosed and confirm that compressor was bad/defective, and the reason why fridge was Not cooling/working. He said that he would replace same, thus fixing the problem. We felt relief and happy; however after replacing compressor, saying he was done and we thought, Wow! Finally, this is the end, imagine our dilemma and surprise when he Casually said- Oh! the main board is NOT working and you have to pay additional charges and service fee to replace!! Plus I dont have the part- I have to come back-next week. The fridge Will Not work without it. - Panic mode set in and crying took over.We are broken!! We had beside suffering undue, stress, also suffering physical health issues, since refrigerated medications were loss-cause by this broken appliance. In addition to the loss of food, deterioration of health, mental stress, were still left with a broken fridge. After spending so much on an appliance (said to last 20 years, right?!). Speaking with LG customer service we feel that LG shows lack of concern to all our issues. HELP!! Can anyone at LG please end this suffering. Plus we now question this replacement of main board- why was this not said on initial diagnosis, before he initiated repair of compressor??Plus we are being charge for all this. Not Fair!! Not Right!! Feel abused! At this point we just wish this fridge gone, gone and LG refund our cost price. We want to get back to our normal life, Please. PLEASE!! Can anyone from LG managerial staff address this? Anyone with POSITIVE Answers/results. Is customer satisfaction a priority? (Then why are we treated this way?) HELP!! Have always been a fan of LG, but now???.

I have had an extremely unsatisfactory experience with my 5 year old LG front loading washing machine. In the beginning it was a mildew odor in the unit. Did a few loads with bleach and wiped around rubber sealant weekly. The clothes do not seem clean to me. I have adjusted the water levels, amount of detergent, the cycle is way over an hour and the results are not good. The control panel shut down and now I have to spend $500 to replace it. I would never recommend this product.

We needed a new refrigerator to replace one weve had for a number of years.
We needed a new refrigerator to replace one weve had for a number of years. It was just fine but getting old. I was very attracted by the fabulous design of the new model of the LG. It had the features that I was looking for and I was very happy to find it. But we got a lemon from them. Weve bought two from Home Depot because we live in Hawaii and out in the country a bit. Were also far from major stores, so we buy quite a bulk then go once a month or so to the store. Out where we live, everybody has at least two refrigerators. The design features of the products are wonderful but right after the holidays, the second one that we got from LG that my husband and I mostly use overflowed in the kitchen. Also, it would cool then it wouldnt. My husband had some ice cream bars in the freezer part and they were melting. Hes an engineer and he had been always able to figure out anything and take care of it. But in this case, it wouldnt hold because its electronic and you have to have the part. So we called LG and they had nobody out here to repair it. Theyd have to go to Honolulu, back and forth, and we got very frustrated with that because the refrigerator would start then it would stop continuously. So, we finally called the local repairman who is known all over the area here and the first words out of his mouth were that they dont touch LG. I asked why and he said it was because they get no support. So, back we were to the LG number available to us, which is out in the Philippines. Thank heavens it was in the Philippines and not India, because the Philippines serviced us very well as they could at their point and tried to help us. They suggested this and that and were very courteous. But we fiddled with this and that and nothing worked out of the things that they were recommending. Finally, they started referring me to the home office in Alabama and I got shunted around from one extension to another. Then in March, they were telling me that they got somebody here on the island that could help us. So the person came out and said that he had to order this and that part from Honolulu. That went on for a week then he came back and did nothing. The parts didnt come and they gave me one excuse after another. In the meantime, the refrigerator is completely dead as well as the icemaker. LGs reps didnt appear again and we had more calls back and forth. After that, another person came out and said that he was gonna order something. But he ended up in an auto accident and I got the report that he was injured and that they had to get somebody else. We went back and forth again for this on May and we were into the fifth month at the time. The darn thing cost me $3,000 and I was getting frustrated. Then I was hooked up again via the Philippines, routed again back to Alabama, and then I was telling them again what was happening and what they gotta do. Then this secretary who was out in the front shielding the calls in the office told me again that I had to talk to customer service for that. So, I slammed the phone down and called the attorney. Bottom line, we got no satisfaction and they were not fully prepared to handle and accommodate the product out where they are selling it. The right and the left hand arent getting together sufficiently. I was beside myself because I was caught in the middle. I was listening to my husband who was fit to be tied and mad and an engineer who expects things to be processed properly and wanted the details taken care of. He was all over my back to get some results and I was trying to get results from LG but getting nowhere. We were in town on Tuesday and we decided to swing in to Lowes and see what they have because we were gonna buy a refrigerator to replace that one. I talked to the Sears island repairman who now deals with all different brands, except LG, and asked him what he would recommend and what brands he repairs. I was ready to have only a very economic and simple model for this second backup refrigerator. Im also hoping the LG that I have in the kitchen doesnt poop out on me after all the extra loading from everything we lost in the other refrigerator. So, I found a basic model from Lowes that they will attach an ice maker to, which is the number one thing for my husband. And they’ll have it delivered then the Sears man will service it. It was easily and simple, and cost about 1/3 of the price of the LG. I will never buy an LG again.

It was available in black and in the style I wanted. The size fit our space perfectly. The price was comparable. Our repairman said it was a reliable brand. I like the upper refrigerator and lower freezer with ice maker. Water dispenser inside the refrigerator instead of in the door so there was extra storage in the door. Sturdiness of drawers was a problem. The drawer to the lunch meat tray broke twice. The door didnt always close well even though it appeared closed at the time. Freezer trays could be divided more.

I purchased the LG 6.3 cu ft self clean oven in black stainless. 12 months in (even though I baby it and am very careful) the paint is chipping off. Now 1 month later the fan motor growls every time I use the oven. I called LG and asked if they would cover the repair simply because it is so very recently out of warranty. No. No chance. $125 to have a technician assess it and then whatever the parts and labor are to repair it. If the product is only designed to last 13 months perhaps it should be cheaper than $1100. I have used it approximately 300 times for about an hour max each time. So 300 hours of use should be all you should expect.

It would have cost close to 1,000.00 to fix, so I bought a service contract with Sears, monthly cost of 50.00 to cover all the new appliances I had purchased from Sears. It still cost 99.00 for the diagnostic. I lost food again!!! Now July 10, 2019 the evaporator broke again, not even 7 months old and again I LOST FOOD!!! I purchased this washer (WT4801CW) new in December 2011 from Home Depot. I have been happy with it until just recently when my washer just stopped in the middle of the wash cycle. I tried to push the power button to re-start the load but the display was dead - no lights, no sounds - nothing! The lid was locked and would not open but my husband figured out how to get lid to open. We manually had to wring out all the towels I had in the washer and then dip out all the water. I called LG but all they told me was that since I didnt buy extended warranty they couldnt help me.Apparently the guy I talked to at LG wasnt in the US as he had no idea how to pronounce Louisville and asked me what KY stood for. My husband is quite the repairman and was able to figure out that the fuse on the noise reducer was bad along with having no power on the main Power Control Board. It cost us around $160 to replace these parts and thankfully my husband was able to do all the work himself. LG stands for Lifes Good, but apparently this is a joke on us!

I purchased a DLEX3250W model LG dryer in December of 2014. I have had problems with lint screen since early on. The screen does not fit its holder and clothes will catch on the corner and twist when drying causing the clothes to wrinkle terribly. During Memorial weekend of the year (2016) when drying towels, the dryer stopped heating. When I contacted the LG technician, I was very disappointed with the fact that I could hardly understand him, and he did not seem to know anything except what he was reading. He said that it may be the electric plug and we probably needed to call an electrician. We tested the plug and it was fine. He also said something about lint buildup and that was untrue. We ended up purchasing a new Maytag dryer since we had family up for the weekend. I am very disappointed in this purchase and will not buy another LG product again.

Now we are out of a stove until I spend $400 on 5 knobs or buy a new stove! You would think with all of the complaints and the safety factor, they would have a recall and replace the cheap knobs with one that have a metal base. Was told this was normal for these new type of washers. Okay I thought. But 3 years almost to the date of purchase, I am stuck with a practically new washer that can barely spin due to worn bearings. It would be ridiculous to spend money on repairs... Probably around $500 I was told. I may as well buy a new machine. UGH. I bought an LG W2101HW and a matching dyer in February 2010. First, the washer ran great with no problems, and then July 2012, error code comes up for heating element. Warranty is out. I find that only two repair companies will even touch them - out of fifty or more repair places. Here comes the great part - it needs diagnosis to determine the cause of the problem that the machine tells you with the code. They wont to charge you, but then if it is stacked, you have to help them unstack it. Great when you’re disabled then find out you dont need to after all! So you call them and they tell you it will take a week to ten days. He comes out and reads the same code. That will be $79.00. When we fix it, it will be fifty more plus part, which is fifty dollars. We have to order the part and that will take five days. They come back more than week later. We got the wrong part and needed to order new one. A week goes by and no one calls. I give them another four days and no one calls (forgot about you). They will come the next week. They only go by zip code, so it’s always a Thursday. Repairman brings part and installs part (no unstacking), I pay the money, and everything is fine. Two weeks later, it’s the same thing again. I called repair and no one ever called back. More than a month later, still no call. I bought a new washer and dryer (GE). I will never ever have an LG. Nothing, the company does nothing for you when called, only a stupid email, so sorry. What a joke. Never buy LG washer or dyer; you will be sorry. I paid over $1,600 for both.

I bought a top load LG washer in May of 2014, model WT1101CW, and was very pleased with it. I have three pets and we need to wash large comforters and blankets often; the washing machine did a great job and was easy to use. Then a freak accident occurred within just a couple of months of owning the machine. The washing machine pulled a sheet into the drain at the bottom of the tub and I had to call a technician. Since then, the machine has been operating well until all of a sudden, it stopped two weeks ago and gave me an error message PE. That means the water sensors arent working. I was leaving town and asked my adult daughter to please call and arrange a service call but she said she called the customer service number multiple times and wasnt able to get an appointment set. I called when I returned home and was told that 1) LG couldnt get in touch with four different companies that service their appliances, 2) there are no LG technicians available to help me, 3) that Id have to wait 3-5 days for someone to call me back. I called again today - same story. I told the operator that the wait time for a service call is unacceptable, especially since now were moving in to our third week without a washing machine. I would NOT purchase this machine again. Im sure there are other options out there that clean as well as this one does and are more reliable.

I needed a fridge at the time it seemed like it was it the best quality fridge out there for the initial price so I really cant complain. It really does run well and efficient. I have kids so that is a big concern with me since I dont want people coming over to my house and seeing a dirty fridge people would think Im a slob who doesnt clean my own house. Also the ice machine can be pretty loud but all around its an ok fridge so I dont have any major complaints.
