I have owned an LG refrigerator for five years, and have now had 3 times where it stopped sufficiently cooling due to a well known issue with the compressor and other internal components. There is even a class action lawsuit that covers numerous models. Part of the class-action lawsuit requires them to extend the warranty up to 5 years. Since I am now about 7 months past that 5 years warranty, LG will cover the parts to repair, but not the labor. Since the repair is quite involved, it is expensive and therefore not worth it, especially since this would have been the THIRD time to replace the compressor and other parts, and there is no guarantee it would be a durable repair. If the third failure of the compressor had happened just 7 months earlier, I would have been entitled, per the terms of the settlement, to compensation. I realize at this point LG is not obligated to do anything beyond the terms of the class action settlement, but it is infuriating to me that a company would produce a product like this, need to have a class action lawsuit to do right by its customers, and seems content to leave me with a product they know is faulty and refuse to take responsibility based essentially on a technicality. Its disgraceful. Avoid LG products. This is a nightmare.

I’ve had my refrigerator for 9 years, the ice maker quit working within a couple years, now the compressor is out. It’s been out for 6 weeks, it’s still under warranty. I’ve been told that they don’t last over 10 years. I’ve been in contact with LG several times in the last 6 was. Every time I call I get a different excuse why they haven’t sent the confirmation letter to get it fixed, total run around. First they told me they sent it, a lie, all I’m getting is lies. I’ve lost everything in my freezer. Very, very poor service. If you’re going to make and sell then you should stand behind it. NEVER again will I buy an LG product and I’m telling everyone I know. Now they tell me it going to be at least another 7-10 days.

We recently bought this machine and Im still not sure about all those fancy settings. But one thing that bothers me is that its so deep I cannot take the washed clothes out. Im 5 feet tall, and even standing on a step ladder doesnt help. I need to develop long arms!! The powder detergent did not get dissolved in the special tray and most of it stayed there.

We recently purchased a new home and with it came an LG washer. After a service call to LG, followed by a maintenance call from a local repair company we are STILL completely dissatisfied with this washer. I have never in all my years of doing laundry (4 children) have ever had to sort clothes based on weight. Even with doing so, the load can take up to two hours to do. The spin cycle is awful and continues to repeat itself. It is quicker to dry a load of towels versus doing a load of wash with the LG. I have read many of the same complaints on this board. LG, you need to do something about this. I would never, ever recommend an LG product to anyone based on my experience with this one product. It is the absolute worst.

We bought this refrigerator Dec. 13, 2014 and thankfully purchased a 5-year warranty. It has NEVER WORKED properly. As I write this Im waiting for an appointment to fix the water and ice maker. We never get any ice. This morning the machine has started making a humming noise so I expect it will die soon so I called again to get someone out to fix this thing.

Our LG refrigerator has been going strong for over 10 years. Since our kitchen is small, we were limited in the size of refrigerator that we could purchase. LG fits in the kitchen perfectly and for our family of 2 adults and 2 kids, we are able to fit all of items that we need in it. One feature that we love to this day is its ability to produce cubed or crushed ice. It is roomy and easy to clean. Another feature is that fingerprints do not show on the front exterior, which is great when you have little kids.

I own a LG Electric Front load washer dryer. The biggest disappointment is the Dryer Drum. I have already replaced it once. And now it is cracked again, and it is $200 just for the part. The stainless steel used is almost paper thin and always cracks near the welded seam. This is a DEFECT! I am looking for a regular steel drum in my next one, (they never cracked on me) and find it hard to even look at LG products other than matching the washer better.

Bought the fridge April 2021, had it arrive May 2021. Started using it June 17th 2021. It stopped refrigerating July 4th weekend. Lost $250 worth of food. Called LG, got a work order number.. then no contact from anyone. Contacted LGs presidents office. Got a call saying that A&E would be dispatched to do the repair. 7/13/21 A&E tech arrives. Said he isnt qualified/trained to work on the fridge. 90 Mins later he says 7/29/21 they rescheduled the work order. No one called or arrived from A&E on that date. Aug 2nd, A&E texts me saying that its now Aug 10th.. 10 mins later they text saying Aug 17th. Today.. Aug 17th no one arrived, no one called.. two days taking the day off from work and blown off twice by A&E not showing up...So a $3700 fridge that has been broken since the beginning of July sits in our kitchen with no sign that it will be repaired, replaced, or working anytime soon.

I had problems with my LG Washer and Dryer. The supervisor told me, after only 1 year, they dont stand behind anything but the motor in the washer. So now Im faced with buying a new one after just spending $1,500.00 or fix the machine yearly (yeah crazy right?) So, I would like to just warn everyone buying these machines. Dont do it. Please spend a couple more dollars on a good product from Kenmore. You will save time, money, and aggravation. I will personally never buy anything from LG not because all their stuff is junk, but because they dont stand behind their products. I hope this review is helpful to people thinking about buying from this 29 billion dollar company that is just out here to make a fast buck and doesnt care about the consumer buying the products they make.

I purchased the LG WT5101HW Wave Series ultra large capacity high efficiency top load washer with LED display, ColdWash technology, 1100 RPM, energy star compliant on January 1, 2011 after spending hours on Consumer Reports looking for the best machine. I purchased the machine from Appliance Connection and even though they encouraged me to purchase the extended warranty, I did not. I now have an EO error that will not go away. I checked on the LG website and the only remedy was to remove the hose and look for blockages and to check the filter. I did check the hose, there was no kinking and no blockage. There is no filter in the drain line, the only filters are in the hot and cold water supply lines which have nothing to do with water draining from the machine. The only way to get the machine to drain is to have the line lower than the tub, which is not feasible because I do not want the dirty water draining on the floor or for that matter, anywhere other than the drain line. When the error occurred, the machine had a load of towels and we had to wring the towels out and remove the water manually by dipping it out with a small bucket. This took a great deal of time and energy. The LG representative told me that I need a service call and the company that performs the maintenance is 1.5 hours from where I live and cannot respond until Friday between 8 and noon. This is very frustrating to have an issue that may or may not be corrected before the weekend because the technician may or may not have the parts. I also checked the company that is to respond to the service call and they have had several negative comments from former customers. I have now read the comments on this site and am apprehensive as to whether I will have a satisfactory outcome. I am also contacting Consumer Reports since I relied on their evaluation of this washer. I also purchased a dryer and I did get a 4-year extended warranty, which I will probably need. I had a Maytag washer that is now being used by my son and his college roommates. I may ask for it back!

This has been the most horrible experience I have ever had with an appliance. Purchased this back in 2016 and have now had five compressors on this refrigerator. Last compressor was installed on September 5th, and it still doesnt work. LG coming back out on September 11th to replace it again. Purchased three year warranty and because all repairs werent taken care of by the warranty company, they wont honor it and replace or refund our money. LG has stated multiple times they will continue to inconvenience us as long as they can keep replacing compressors. They only offered a one time $200 refund for food lost. Weve now lost an entire refrig/freezer full of food four times. Will never purchase an LG appliance again, and will make sure everyone I come in contact with knows the experience Ive had with this company and how LG cares nothing about the way they treat their customers.

Purchased my LG gas range in April 2014, six months later I noticed the knobs were melting. I called LG, they offered knob replacement. I wanted to know why this was happening, then they said they would replace the gasket. The technician came out and did replace the knobs and gasket. At the time I asked what happens if this happens again? Sure enough, six months later, melting knobs, LG offered the same solution. I argued this should not be happening, concerned heat was escaping, did not want the same repair. The second technician agreed I needed a new oven and called LG while he was here. They refused to give him a return authorization number. The technician said there was a recall and I should be persistent. Well after 4 calls to LG, they have refused my claim, was very rude and dismissive... This company needs to be taught how to treat people... We need a class action lawsuit!

I purchased the LG DLE2050W Dryer along with the matching washer 2.5 yrs ago. We have replaced a sensor, a fuse and when the dryer quit drying a week ago, I thought here we go again, ordered another fuse and guess what, that didnt work this time. I have had a couple of dryers over the 32 yrs of our marriage, and never had to replace more than a heating coil even with 2 boys growing up here. It is just my husband and I now, 2-3 loads a week and dealing with this is ridiculous. You have to take the drum out to get to the most minute parts and what a pain that is. So, this dryer will be stuck in the corner of the basement and tomorrow, I am getting a new Whirlpool and feel confident I wont be dealing with these issues again.

Knobs on stove disintegrate & become nonfunctional & break. This is my 3rd replacement of knobs, & I will need a 4th replacement soon. The first 2 were covered by extended warranty. The knobs when bumped, can easily, cause gas to escape. The can happen with the lightest bump, & is generally unnoticed, by individual, until the strong gas smell is evident! My communications over the years has been extremely frustrating, & unacceptable. I was told that knobs are ornamental by one employee. Another claimed it was my misuse because I left the oven door open. Once someone told me I would get replace the knobs free within a week. They never came! I finally bought new ones for about $275. The plastic overlay on what appears to be a metal knob is beginning to crackle. That means the cylinder that holds the knob on is soon to break. I bought the latest replacement knobs less than 6 months ago. It seems to me there is a sufficient case for a class action suit against LG.

Refrigerator Envy: that’s what our friends said when they saw our new LG refrigerator. NO MORE! Problems began the first year, and five years and many repairs later – most we paid for; LG covered a few – the problems have simply worsened. We’ve lost hundreds of dollars in food waste, spent over $800 in “repairs”, and endured countless inconveniences as a result of food freezing in the refrigerator. We now keep fruits and vegetables in our sixteen year-old garage Whirlpool. The design flaw, we’ve been informed, is known by LG and has been addressed in their newer models. Most recently, beginning 8/1/2019, our numerous emails to LG’s escalation team and to their VP of Customer Service have had no reply whatsoever. LG is unwilling and/or unable to follow up on their promises or our correspondence. We wonder if another “private message” would likewise be ignored. We have lost respect for LG. We would neither consider nor recommend the purchase of an LG product to anyone.

I bought a refrigerator with an LG compressor in it in September of 2016. Two days ago it stopped working. I looked at the warranty, parts are covered for 1 year and the compressor is covered for 10 years. After I had a tech out to look at the problem the total cost to repair the fridge was $850 which included a free compressor that was covered under the warranty. The issue was all of the other parts that were damaged by the oil leaking out of the faulty compressor are not covered under the parts warranty. This is a total scam by LG who made inferior products. The tech told me the replacement would be the compressor that just broke and I would be back in the same spot 2-3 years from now. Does LG think 2-3 year for a refrigerator is a normal life span??

We bought a wonderful french door stainless LG frig with all the features we wanted. Twice we woke up and the fridge temperature was above 45F. We thought that we left a door open or the power had gone out. On the third time - with water everywhere in the kitchen and the interior temperature above 50F we called LG and asked for repair. The fridge is less than 15 months old and we paid $2975. It took most of the day to get through all of the automated phone questions, when we finally spoke to a person they said that they would arrange for a repair company to contact us. That took 3 days before we heard from a company (who gets 1 star reviews on yelp) and it took more than a week for them to schedule a repair person who confirmed what LG told them needed to be done. It has been more than 3 weeks and we still do not have our refrigerator repaired. We have had 3 canceled repair appointments and one that did not show up. LG needs to do better than this. We purchased the top of the line refrigerator - this is our third LG fridge and two of them have had problems but their lack of response for repair is unbelievable. We actually got a call from them asking about our customer service experience - how about terrible? We are living out of an ice chest and all of our food has been ruined 3 times. And we still do not have a working fridge.

I purchased my range in 2009. Near the end of the warranty, my oven stopped working. I called to have it repaired and it was repaired under the warranty. February of 2013, the oven stopped working again! I bake a lot so was upset I had to get it repaired again. We live in a small town and it is hard to get repairs done. After phoning around, I found out that the range had a recall on it in 2012! Why were letters not sent out? It took three months to finally get it repaired. Yesterday, November 6th, the oven doesnt work again! I called the recall line and had to fax the bill of sale to them. As of now, I havent heard back. I told them I would just like to get a new range so I dont keep having problems with this range because I bake a lot. The person I talked with said I probably wouldnt get the full value for the range, if they dont repair it again. I cant go without an oven for another 3 months. So no big surprise based upon the various reviews concerning LG refrigerator performance. Yes our LG refrigerator stopped working so we called a local repairmen who diagnosis the issue as a compressor failure (which seems to be a common problem), but due to the labor cost and after considerable effort we got LG to send their own technician to come out on their cost to fix the problem. The technician was great and after repairing the compressor and the evaporator (also faulty) we thought all was good. Unfortunately the fridge still didnt work so he returned and after numerous hours and effort he informed us that oil had entered into the lines and there was nothing else to do but submit a request to LG for a reimbursement. We are currently waiting and cannot get any info concerning our status and whether we should keep the fridge to return and that reimbursement process may take up to 4 to 6 weeks for a prorated reimbursement amount. So we have already have waited six weeks without a fridge and will potentially need to wait another six weeks before we have closure and honestly Im not too optimistic based upon the length of time and the ambiguity that each person gives us on the phone. Although each customer service rep is nice it is unfortunate that LG does not give the autonomy to make a decision even when their own repairmen have given forth their assessment. I realize that products fail but when there is an obvious trend LG should be fast recognize and not strong their patrons along. Its just bad business.

We bought 27.6 cu ft french door refrigerator in June of 2013. LG should be disappointed at the quality of workmanship. The compressor on our unit just failed, and it will cost us hundreds of dollars to replace. The kicker is not the cost of the repair, or the poorly made unit we spent thousands of dollars on, it is the time we have been without a refrigerator, and all of the stuff we have to throw away and replace. LG set up a preferred vendor last Friday, it is now Tuesday, to come look at it. We are still without a refrigerator, and LG continues to tack on additional charges to fix their poorly made product that is under warranty. The inconvenience on a family of 4 with 2 small children heavily outweighs the damage to the pocket book.

I loved my old FRONT load washer. All clothes were washed properly. With this top load, not all clothes get a good wash. Never again top load. No use calling LG. They will tell me: Too bad sucker. We got you for 2K.

The LG over-the-range microwave MODEL LMV1683ST caught on fire. This appliance was manufactured in December 2014 and I purchased it at Lowes in March 2015. On July 3, 2015 the unit started sparking and smoking and then flames started shooting inside the unit. 4 months old and LG thinks it might be repairable. I dont want that unit in my house. I have spend several hours cumulatively on the phone trying to get a new unit. The unit only cost $200, yet they have sent repair people to my home. The cost of the repair time has exceeded the cost of goods and out of frustration, LG has created a consumer that will never buy another LG product. The poor Customer Service Reps must hate their job. They are not empowered to really help the consumer. It seems to me that LG has a lot to learn about customer satisfaction.

We bought a beautiful LG refrigerator about 10 years ago... LG boasts that their refrigerator lasts 20 years!!! Its 2021 now! We realized food in the freezer was not frozen solid. We called appliance repairs only to find out that the compressor cannot be replaced because LG stopped making those compressors!! We called many appliance repair places all with the same result! This is ridiculous and It only lasted 1/2 the life they boast and advertise!!?? False advertising!!

I have only had my over the stove microwave for a little over a year (model # LG - LMV2031ST). It stopped working. I am very surprised. I spent time researching it and expected to have it last longer than a year. My previous one lasted 11 years. It was from a different company. The warranty has conveniently expired. I now have to spend precious funds for repairs or to purchase another one. I am on a fixed income and would never consider buying another LG product.

We purchased this fridge about 4 years ago. From the start it had a manufacturing defect on the water hose that supplies water for drinking. It would drip down the front of the fridge after you got water out of it. They came out and replaced the whole door, but would not replace the stainless steel lever that had gotten stained from their defect. Then it started to give us ice with what looked like dandruff, I have not been the 1st person to complain about this. All it needs is a new ice tray but have to buy the whole assembly. The door since day one has had moisture collecting on it, bad door seals I am suspecting. You close the left door and the right one pops open. This thing is a piece of garbage, and I got the same dont care attitude with their customer service as others have noted on here. We also have an above stove microwave, 2 went out right out of warranty, not even a month past. LG means life is good for them, cause by time you find out you bought a piece of crap it is too late. I also wish I could post a picture of what the ice tray looks like, it grew some yellow hard something or other on it. Very gross to say the least. It seems to me all they care about is making a sale, but not taking care of the customer after purchase. I will never ever ever ever buy LG again.

When the machine cycles on it will pump water out of the soap drawer at times. Sometimes when it is started and other times when it goes into rinse mode, flooding the drawer below the washing machine and the floor. It took several calls to a person who did not want to send a service tech. He told us it was because we were using a wrong detergent. That is a perfect example of how little he knows about the product. When we finally got a service tech to come out and look at it, the problem did not show up while he was here and he had no idea what was happening. So although he was a very nice person he was not schooled in the product then he was sent out to troubleshoot. There has to be a troubleshoot guide that is developed from other repairs done in the field. My washing machine is not the only one pumping water on the floor. It Cost 89.00 for the service call. My Daughter paid 40.00 the same day to check her Maytag.

Ive had this refrigerator (model LFC23760SW) French doors freezer on the bottom for about 4 years. I like the design of the fridge except for one reoccurring problem. I have had to replace the door gaskets 3 times in four years. Not only is this very annoying but it is costly. The issue is when the doors (left and right) come together to make a seal, the left door gasket pull away from the door and tears. This is the same issue over and over. Clearly this is a design flaw. I just recently (within 3 weeks) replaced the door gaskets and the door gasket on the left has already begin to pull away from the door. I know I cant be the only person having this issue and I was hoping the LG company has come up with a fix for this problem. Their reply to my inquiry was brief and simple, no fixes reported to customer care were available, have a nice day. I would highly suggest everyone stay away from this model and others like it. Im staying away from LG products, period.

LG was given to us as a gift when we bought our house. I like the drawers on the inside. They had to come out when it didnt cool or freeze, but everything is working okay since then. Our dryer failed during a run, and would not power back on. I checked the circuit breaker and the plug, and unable to restart the unit, I placed a service request with LG. Over the past month I have experienced nothing but frustration and disappointment from LG customer service. I have been given inaccurate information, been repeatedly told to expect a call back or email about service status, but the only communication I have had with LG is when I have initiated contact. Please note that because I have two children, one of whom is still out of school because of the pandemic, the only times I can call when the 800 number is operating is on W and F when I am commuting to/from onsite days at my job. Below is a detailed timeline of my experience:Th 4/15. Dryer breaks during run. Test fuse, power line, reset per manufacturer’s instructions. Fr 4/16. Submit ticket through LG website describing problem. Sa 4/17. Receive email response from website instructing me to do the troubleshooting I had already completed prior to submitting ticket to website. Call LG 800 number to request repair. Told that I would hear back within 24-48h about getting an LG service technician. Tu 4/20. Call LG because I received no call back. Am informed that they could not find a local technician, and my request was being escalated to the regional services team. Fr 4/23. Call LG for a status update. Rep informs me that they have 5 business days to find local authorized technician, but that if they cannot within 5 days, I can get a replacement authorization. W 4/28. Call LG again, to request replacement authorization. Am told I need to wait an additional 48h for update.F 4/30. Call for status update. Rep tells me that information I received on 4/23 about replacement is incorrect, and that regional services is still looking for repair. Request transfer to executive services. Call gets cutoff partway through. Attempt to call back, but service line is closed for the day. Particularly disappointed that the executive services person I was speaking with did not call me back, because the first thing he asked for was my phone number, in case we got disconnected.W 5/5. Call LG; request immediate transfer to executive services. Rep curtly informs me that they have hundreds of thousands of technicians, just none in our area. Furthermore, that LG has 30 days from my initial call to locate repair services, so I am not yet entitled to a replacement dryer. However, she does provide me with contact info for an authorized service provider in American Canyon. I contact said service provider, Linet Electronics. Technician at Linet tells me that yes, they do service our model of dryer, and they do service our town (35 miles away), and yes he does have availability. He advises against booking him directly for warranty repairs, because then I will need to work request reimbursement from LG for the repair.W 5/12. Call LG; request they contract with Linet Electronics to service our dryer. I provide phone number, but the rep insists that I need to provide email and postal address, too. They should have this information, since I got the phone number from their authorized service system, which is infuriating. I call back once I have the email and post address. The new rep calls Linet, but Linet wants an extra $225 to do the service call, and so LG will not authorize service (this strikes me as absurd, since replacing the unit outright, or providing me a refund, will undoubtedly cost more than the service call with a surcharge). I am told that regional service has 2 chances to find someone in our area before we qualify for replacement, but apparently hasn’t done anything since my first escalation on 4/20 (15 business days ago). Rep promises that I will get a call back within 24-48h about warranty replacement. I tell him I am highly doubtful about that, since I have not received any updates, by phone or email, at any point so far. That my only contact with LG has been contact that I initiated. Th 5/13. Much to my surprise, Jacob, the rep I spoke with on 5/12, calls me back to let me know there has been no action on my replacement request yet. He promises to call me back in 24h. F 5/14. No call back from Jacob. Monday will be 30 days since my dryer broke. I will call LG and demand they send a replacement dryer, though I am not confident they will honor their warranty obligations at this point.

Unfortunately, the compressor broke on my LG refrigerator. I filed a claim and it took them roughly two weeks to fix it. They couldn’t send anybody out and the day that I had it scheduled, the guy cancelled on me at the last minute and said that he got the wrong part. So me, my husband, and my little baby were living out of a cooler for two weeks because no one could fix our fridge. I was super upset because it was a brand new fridge that we bought and it was four years. Eventually, they fixed it but I still feel that it doesn’t cool that great. Then they told us that we should only be keeping it 40% full, which is ridiculous because you don’t buy a fridge to only keep at 40% full or it’s not gonna work properly. But that was what the technician told us. We’ve had ongoing issues with this, too. All the little baskets that you can put the milk or sauce containers on are breaking off because the plastic is so brittle and there’s a weak point in it. The design of the plastic is not well-designed. When you spent $2,000 on a fridge, you don’t expect in four years that the containers on the door that you should be able to store things in, are gonna break off. Then the replacement is $90 and when I read all the reviews, people are saying not to even bother replacing it because it’s gonna break again. So, my husband and I decided that we’re never gonna buy an LG again.

They came out and said that there was nothing they could do, that it was normal and we called them just before the warranty ran out, and once again right after and never got it fixed. Serviceman was no help. The washer always vibrated horribly on the spin cycle. Now a few years later its broken its mounts and is burning the front gasket. The set was complete garbage from day one. I will never buy another LG product. Not a phone, mp3, battery, nothing.

We recently purchased an LG Gas Range. It became apparent early on that there was a serious and significant manufacturing defect with the knobs which could pose a major safety threat to you and your family and home. Basically, if you even lightly brush up against the knobs, they may turn easily in the on position and either ignite a flame unexpectedly or emit gas also unexpectedly. We have had several near misses of people catching on fire and a few gas emissions which last over 30 minutes. I thought once I contacted LG they would immediately take action -- WRONG -- I am absolutely stunned at their response. They told me that they couldnt do anything about it and that I should buy child safety locks for the knobs. My previous gas stove was in the same location for 17 years and NEVER had this problem. We plan to take legal action since several other consumer have experienced the same problem. Shame on LG. They should be put out of business!

I have bought the fridge from Vijay Sales, Pune on 08/08/2014. Since the day of purchase there has been ice crystals formation inside, in the rear wall of the fridge. We have made innumerable complaints at least not less than 4 times. Each time the engineer gives some excuse sets a higher temperature on the fridge and goes way. Unfortunately I have not been at home and my wife gets conned. Now the vegetables have started rotting within 2 to 3 days which is abnormal. The latest complaint no is **. The eng came this time, examine the fridge, increased the temperature to 6 deg Celsius, said that he needed to change the sensor and that was the end of this. As far as I know e. coli starts forming in food articles after 4 deg Celsius. It is extremely distressful to see that an MNC like LG performs like this. I have had innumerable products from LG but this time poor service has crossed the limits. Nothing can change in India. Consumers are helpless. The latest in Maharashtra you have to file complaints in consumer forum in Maharashtrian language. So much for India is for Indians. Better to stay where you were born.

I have a 2 year old LG washer with the impeller tech, low water use, etc. I dislike it intensely. The impeller action does not move clothes sufficiently, the water levels are not sufficient to get the dirt to float out and away, and it cannot do large sheets at all. When I do sheets I have to check constantly and push them under water level, no matter what setting I use. They never completely submerge. I usually have to add additional water to hack the weight so that it adds additional, even after the extra water button is pushed. I wish I had kept my old Maytag and repaired it.

I bought a new LG dryer, September 24, 2020, from my local best buy. I also purchased the 5 year extended warranty. Fast forward to beginning of march 2021: my new dryer stopped working, gave me an error code. Because it was just over 5 months after purchase, i had to file a claim with lg. So, i call the lg warranty phone number and was told that there werent any technicians in my area that could service my dryer and they would look at third party techs. 4 months pass and finally someone comes out in June, 2021. He states that LG dryers have ongoing issues with their thermal fuses. He didnt have the right part with him and said he had to order it and would call to set an appointment when the part came in. About a week had passed and I called the technician, I was told the part was on backorder but i had a date of repair, July 17 2021. Tech showed up for the appointment and He replaced the fuse and the dryer worked again. 13 days later on July 30 2021, my dryer stopped working again and I received the same error code.I called the warranty department back and was told that they would contact me in 10 business days, as they had to look for someone to service the dryer. 10 days passed and they never called, after about a month, i called them. I was told that they were having a hard time trying to find someone to come out to fix their appliance. I asked them if they could send the last tech back out. The rep agreed and stated I would be called back. No one called. So I called again, this time I was told that my dryer was a lemon and i needed to wait for a phone call from another department, and was guaranteed i would hear from someone in 3 days. Another weeks passed and I called again, now each time I call, I am given a ticket number, I was told this time that nothing could be done. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that there were none on staff, and then was told that they couldnt patch me through to someone else... After about and hour of this crap I was told the supervisor would call me back, again. No call ( surprise surprise). I keep trying to get through to someone at LG, still having no luck and its now passing the 1 year manufacturer warranty and my time is running out to have this thing fixed, again.Lg just kept giving me one shit poor excuse after another and finally i gave up when i wad told youre outside of the 12 month manufacturer warranty, theres nothing we can do, maam . So, I called Best Buy. I explained the situation and all the bs i was going through with LG and the rep told me that LG has been having a lot of issues and they would take care of me. That was September 2021. No one has come out. My dryer is still broken.I took it upon myself and contacted the original technician and asked if he could come back out to replace the fuse again. He was able to put a repair ticket in with LG because my appliance broke a few months before the 12 month warranty ended. He came out toward the end of October 2021. He checked the fuse, because the error code the dryer was showing indicated it was the fuse, again. It wasnt, the fuse was fine. Turns out, according to the tech, I need a new wire harness and maybe a new computer? He wasnt sure, so he was placing an order for both and would call with an appointment. Its now December and the technician hasnt been back, after multiple phone calls I was finally told that the parts needed were on backorder and he wasnt sure when they would be in.I called Best Buy again today and explained the situation, again, and was told when ordering parts the company has so much time to fill the order, after that date has passed we (Best Buy) consider the appliance a total loss and she was going to transfer us to another department to get it all sorted. New department said that the technician has to come out and put it in his/her notes that it can not be fixed or is not worth fixing. Then and only then can the dryer be considered a total loss, and then they will replace my dryer with a new one.. another LG. I explained, in the nicest way possible, I do not want another LG appliance. I bought this one brand new just over a year ago, Ive been able to use it maybe 6 months total. I have had nothing but issues with the dryer and the companys customer service. I have 4 children ( ages 15, 6,3 and 2),we need a working dryer. We need something reliable. I would much rather have them take this junk out of my house and refund my money. It has been called a lemon many times, not only by best buy reps but also 2 reps that work for LG. Its a massive inconvenience to have to bring laundry to a laundromat everyday to have it dried.. I get 27 minutes of drying time for $1.50. Because I am potty training 2 toddlers, have 2 in school and my partner is an ironworker, we do a lot of wash. I spend between $10 and $15 every 2 days at the laundromat and about $20-$30 a week in gas to go back and forth to the laundromat. Thats A LOT of money to be dishing out because LG doesnt stand by their products. Money that could have gone on a couple new appliances, bills etc. She, the CSR, said she was transferring me to the lemon claims department. The man I spoke to basically told me that unless i file a civil claim against the company and a technician says that I have a faulty dryer, the only thing they ( best buy) can do is replace my dryer with a used LG dryer of comparable value. Which this dryer now isnt worth a damn thing. I am so annoyed with LG. Im annoyed at the fact that i spent almost a grand on something that LG says would last 10-15 YEARS. it didnt even last 6 months! Now i have to waste more time on monday calling LG, best buy and the technician and ask them to email or snail mail me all the paperwork and notes for the last year, so i can bring it all to my attorney. I have had enough of that company and their appliances. I will never purchase another product with the LG logo.

I have posted here before about the smell from my LG Tromm washer. I have been reading other posts regarding leaving the door open and peeling paint. I have always left the door of my washer open and, as Ive posted before, still get that awful smell. We are at the point now of needing to replace the washing machine after 3 years because our clothes smell so bad. We have tried all the front-loading washing machine cleaners we can find and have used bleach in the tub clean as per the owners manual. One of the worst smelling items is our wonderful towels. After showering, we have to remember not to breathe deeply while drying our faces! And I just noticed the paint is peeling off the front of the machine, near one of the “seams”. It is almost like the way wet latex paint will just wipe off if. It is painted over an oil-based paint. What can we do about this? I really cant afford to buy another washing machine already.

I call LG Appliance because my dryer would not stop tumbling when I opened the door, my dryer is under 2 years old. I knew what was wrong with the dryer but I wasnt sure who I should call to repair, so I called the mfg, LG Appliance. They told me they would dispatch a repairman and the fee for service was $125. The repairman showed up, replaced the $16 part and then billed me additional labor of $65.00. I called LG to ask why I paid their fee and a service fee and they continued to say that the fee was dispatch, until I asked exactly what dispatch meant - setting up the appointment. Well, I could have done that myself. The customer service rep at LG was pretty cagey in his setting up this appointment, never clarifying that I would pay all the labor fee. My understanding was the service visit would be free.

This review is for the LG WT5170HW Wave 4.7 Cu. Ft. White Top Load Washer.
This review is for the LG WT5170HW Wave 4.7 Cu. Ft. White Top Load Washer. I purchased this washer 2 years ago. I was looking for the largest capacity that I could reasonably afford. I also wanted to save water. I was replacing an old agitator-type GE model that was still going strong after 17 years. Ever since I purchased this machine I have had problems with it giving the UE message (uneven load). Dont even think of using the capacity of this machine to the fullest. Anything above half-full will automatically cause UE messages. Anything bulky like towels or bedding will cause the UE message. Sometimes it gives the UE message for what seems like no reason at all. Basically Ive had to wait downstairs and babysit this machine to get it to finish about half of its loads. As for water savings, whenever the machine gets a UE message, it adds water to try to fix the problem, so any water savings are lost. I am amazed at the amount of water this machine uses. Here is the worst part. Recently while doing a load of laundry, the machine malfunctioned and would not stop filling itself with water. Thankfully I was down there cleaning otherwise I wouldnt have known and my basement would have been flooded. Something has gone haywire and the machine will not stop filling itself with water now every time I try to use it.I purchased the service warranty (something I normally never do) and called the service center and they cannot find a certified repair center anywhere near me (we live near Minneapolis/St. Paul). This afternoon I spent at the laundromat, and my $1,000 paperweight sits downstairs looking pretty. And, theres no one in the Twin Cities area who wants to work on these things apparently. Save yourself the money, time, headaches and stay away from this product!

The LG washer that I purchased from Sears in April 2010 has been nothing but trouble since I bought it. I returned the original to Sears within three weeks of having bought it. It wont spin water out of the machine and my clothes were sopping wet. The replacement unit continued to have problems with spinning properly. Last week, I noticed that the rug in my basement (just outside laundry area) got completely soaked with water. After five days with fans constantly running, Ive started ripping up my carpet. The pad is soaked through. It is a disaster in my basement now. And I have my house on the market. LG washer has ruined my carpet and made my house less sellable in the process!

When you pay $3000 for a refrigerator, you do NOT expect it to break down within two years... I bought the LG LFXC24726S at Mrs G in July 2015. In July 2017 the refrigerator stopped cooling, no ice or no water. Even with the extended warranty it was two weeks before svc was available... The day of svc... The svc man could not move the refrigerator to put the part in... And now they want $120.00 extra to send a second guy to help the one guy to move the refrigerator. What nonsense! The refrig should not have broken DOWN!!! LG doesnt own it. Mrs G doesnt own it... Jersey Appliance service doesnt own it. I have a BROKEN UNREPAIRED $3000.00 LG refrigerator that is only TWO YEARS old.

I purchased a top of the line LG Dryer from Lowes. Full retail is close to $1,000.00; yet this is one of the worst dryers I have ever owned. For starters the lint filter is horribly designed as it leaks massive amount of lint into the innards of the machine. Eventually I was able to install soft foam weather strip into the groove of the machine and get the lint leak stopped, but the fact of the matter is its very poor at drying clothes. The only setting that will actually get the clothes dry is timed drying. All the other settings are worthless as they shut the machine down before the clothes are actually dry. The reality is this machine is barely an automatic clothes dryer. Its just a timed dryer with an assortment of settings that are essentially useless. My 52 year old Maytag which was still working when I replaced it with this LG was a better machine. It had a better filter, and actually dried the clothes with a cool-down end cycle. I dont know what washers or dryers to buy, but the only thing good about LG is how they look on the showroom floor. Their actual mechanical design and performance is horrible.

I bought an LG refrigerator 1-1/2 years ago and the rubber trimming has either gone out or maybe defective, which makes it hard to open the doors. I dont know of anyone that has had a refrigerator for 1-1/2 years with this type of problem occurring. I have called LG Premium Care Plan, which is the extended warranty that was recommended to me, but they will not come out to check without charging a service call. They told me it was wear and tear by opening and closing, which is nonsense. We are an elderly couple and cant image us wearing the rubber trimming. I would like to get someone to contact me and resolve this problem at no cost. I dont want to take it to a further solution. We purchased a brand new LG french door refrigerator (bottom drawer freezer and 2 door refrigerator with ice and water in the door). We purchased it through Home Depot for $2200 in April 2016. We researched and shopped around and felt good about the purchase. Didnt buy extended warranty - why would we... its a brand new fridge with manufacturers warranty and solid company right?? WRONG!!!I NEVER write online reviews. This experience is so shockingly horrible I had to submit a review. The ice in the door constantly melts and refreezes. When it refreezes it bonds the giant chunk of ice from the ice maker to the door. You need an icepick or a crowbar to then remove the ice maker from the door. Of course, as soon as you pry it apart, the entire bin of ice and melted water drops onto the floor and all around your feet. The melted ice block fills every nook 6 inches deep into the ice maker. Again, using an icepick you can chop up the ice and use your vacuum or spoons to extract all the ice.Home Depot wont touch this. Refer you to LG Customer Service. Took multiple calls and LG over the phone told us it was our fault and we must be leaving refrigerator door open too long and were melting the ice. They told us to open the refrigerator door NO MORE THAN 1-2 TIMES PER DAY??? Finally, they sent a technician. The technician reviewed the fridge and told me LG is terrible and he sees this all the time. However, his report back to LG indicated he found no issues. LG issued report to us that we need to TURN OFF THE ICEMAKER every night before bed and empty the bin. In the morning we can turn the ice maker back on but that we MUST USE ALL THE ICE EACH DAY OR TURN IT OFF. They claim the ice maker is so efficient and meant to make more ice than we can use because they were getting complaints it wouldnt make enough ice. So weve been turning the ice maker on and off each day - which makes us open the refrigerator doors twice a day by the way. And the problem is still there. Thanks LG!! What a waste of $2200. A waste of many peoples time in your games and a ridiculous strategy. Buyers are savvy and expect more than stupid answers. A very unsatisfied customer who is also a realtor and refers people to buy new appliances all the time! Will make sure people dont buy LG for sure!

Wed be walking by with laundry on the way past to the laundry room and whoops...somebody bumped the knob. Final straw, my son was cooking with his girlfriend making dinner for us all. She reached into a cabinet near the stove and bumped the burner knob. The front burner turned on and nearly caught her shirt on fire, right in front of me. This is ** ridiculous! Supervisor at LG services Leon is the worst and careless person that I ever dealt with. After sending the damaged door and closing the case, knowing that my warranty would be done after few days and on purpose delaying time, was asking me for the receipt, though they have all info about refrigerator. Another way to get rid of another unhappy customer left me no choice but pay for the service... But when installation cost more than a part itself I decided to buy just new different brand refrigerator and not give them a chance to screw me up again... Part of the door came damaged first time. Who knows what happens next time...That is disappointment that LG American brand does such a bad job and have thousands unhappy customers. No matter when they made if you put your name on Brand have Pride and make quality product, but obviously LG supervisor and all other bosses does not care... Not one review was answered or tried to help customer with low quality LG merchandise. Lesson learned. In the future LG brand will never be in my house and Ill try to spread word to prevent people from making mistake by buying LG.

DONT BOTHER!!! If the machine isnt bad enough, the service is worst! I paid big bucks for my LG washer and its given me nothing but headaches with water issues (IE) balance issues (UE) and now a leak that fills up my tub and gets your spun clothes totally soaked after my load is done. Whats worse is you cannot find anyone that knows enough to repair it in our area. Im not exaggerating. There were 7-9 technicians that came out (never fixed) and at least that many calls that they never showed up at their appointed time. I usually dont write reviews but I just want to warn all!

Could not get thru cycle without repeated UE error codes, drum not spinning & water leaking all over. 2015 tech replaced board control and other parts. Now I have the exact problem as before. Machine is JUNK. This weekend had to purchase a new washer because warranties much less good customer service or products to say the very least do not mean anything to LG. Out of curiosity checked reviews for LG front load washer & what do you know... Hundreds of other innocent consumers has had to put up with the same abuse from your LG company. We need to all band together and fight the unjustified ethics of LG. Ive contacted an attorney; well see what happens. P.S... and YES the clothes & washer do stink just like LG company. I have always enjoyed LG electronics and products and have never heard negative feedback. All lg products that I have owned have all lasted as long as they were guaranteed to last while keeping their word on the productivity of these products and much much more. I loved the double doors, large compartments, the removable bins and freezer shelves. The ice compartment size was amazing and never ran out of ice and had to wait on more to be made. I also enjoyed the filtration system as it did not need to be changed as often as a lot of other refrigerators I have seen. I would improve some of the ways the shelves were built into the inside to where they are all adjustable, making it easier to store larger items and more items altogether.

I almost bought an LG refrigerator a week ago UNTIL I read the reviews. I had the same poor experience with the LG washer and dryer. Problems within a month, customer service is poor and whatever the problem they say it must be the leveling and nothing is really covered under warranty that may be needed. Then they have the nerve to try to sell an extended warranty combined at over $400; after paying $2600 for a washer and dryer I shouldnt need an extended warranty for the first 3 years of ownership. The products dont compare to Kenmore Elite or Whirlpool and the customer service is AWFUL. In this case, you dont get what you pay for.

Purchased a new counter depth LG refrigerator in April 2015 due to the remodeling of our kitchen. Unit was delivered in May and put into operation during early June 2015. Unit ran fine without problem during the warranty period (one year). In late July 2016, approximately 2 months after the warranty expired we experience ice forming on the back of the inside of the unit. Eventually the fan started making noise and the temperature inside did not seem cold. The unit then displayed a code of rf. Since it was out of warranty, I researched LG refrigerator problems and now realized all the issues with LG and their lack of customer care, so I called Sears Home Service. The technician visited the house, inspected the unit, researching the error code and determined the problem was a failed motherboard. Technician ordered a motherboard and advised he would come back when we received the motherboard. We received the motherboard a few days later, advised the technician of the receipt. He promptly came out the next day and replaced. In summary and based on other reviews, I am just another customer who bought a LG refrigerator for a couple of grand and just after the warranty period had to pay approximately $500 to enable the unit to operate. LG might look good but either the design or quality of parts is inferior because it appears my problem was not unique. Advice to future purchasers is avoid LG. Look for a reliable brand.

Finally, after pushing buttons, it went completely through the rinse/spin cycle. The repairman said this was normal, but it hadnt done this before, so I dont believe that. Meanwhile, I pull the drawer out and empty it after each wash. Im unsure whom to call for repairs.

My 4.5 yr old side by side LG stopped cooling sometime Sunday. I had purchased an extended warranty. (Customer service is not what it used to be.) Called the warranty company and left a message Sunday night. Waited all day Monday for a call back. Can you hear the crickets. Short story, didnt get anyone on the phone till Tuesday and was told an appt. was set for Wednesday morning. But I should call the service provider to confirm. Three phone calls and an email later I get a response. Tech arrived Wednesday afternoon. Then tells me, after checking my fridge that I need a new compressor. And that the reason he was late is because he just replaced a compressor on another LG fridge. I thought he might have one in his truck, but no. I would have to be ordered and another appt. would have to be made. I have owned 2 other brands in the past and only replaced them after 15 or more years and I have never had a compressor replaced. Now that the kids are long gone and we decide to buy more expensive appliances, we find that expensive is not synonymous with reliable. BTW LG dishwasher repaired twice in 5 years.Going back to the old yet faithful brands.

After reading all the entries in this section, I thought Id let others know that you are not alone. In a nutshell, my LG frig (bottom freezer model LRFC22750SW) had to have the motherboard replaced 3 times in the first 2 years: the lights staying on problem happened twice and one time the light bulbs inside the fridge exploded in my face when I tried to remove them with an oven mitt. The clamps at the top of the doors broke off for no apparent reason. They just fell into my hand one day. The gasket around the fridge doors failed. The icemaker failed. The front dented after barely nudging it. The freezer was blasting frost throughout due to a relay switch going bad. But heres the kicker - there was a class action lawsuit filed due to the lights in the fridge staying on and melting the inside of the fridge. I joined the claim and they advised that my $408 for one of the repairs would be reimbursed. This was over a year ago and I have not received any reimbursement to date. What astonishes me is that some sites say LG refrigerators are in the top 10 of certain lists. I dont understand how this can be true, especially seeing all these complaints on this site. Needless to say, I will never buy another LG and I will never recommend the brand to anyone for any type of device.

This is the worst washing machine I have ever purchased. It takes forever to get a load of wash done and there are spots on the clothes when finished. It doesnt use enough water to even cover the clothes. For more water, you have to set it on Extra Load, and then it takes 3 hours to wash! The programs for selection are awful and limited. Purchased in Spring of 2015, and just before the year warranty went out, the ice maker quit working. After a week or two we got that fixed, and while waiting on that repair, my sons LG refrigerator stopped cooling and he was having major issues with getting it repaired b/c it was out of the year warranty (purchased Fall of 2014). Because he was having so many issues, we decided to buy the LG Extended Warranty, just in case, and it was over $500. So now were in for over $3000 for this refrigerator. FYI, my son junked his after several months b/c he could not find anyone who could/would work in it or even figure out what was wrong with it!!! THEN just this past month, July 18th we returned home from a weeks vacation and the refrigerator had stopped working, so we were up until late throwing out over $500 worth of food and cleaning a nasty refrigerator. My husband called them immediately and started the process of getting the repairs made using the LG Extended Warranty. It took him three calls to just get to the right people that might could help us, and they said it would be the end of the week before anyone could JUST look at it! Well, those folks never called the day before, as promised, so my husband starts calling again. Finally someone showed up on July 28th, but guess what? Its a sealed system and LG wouldnt let them work on it. My husband has spent hours on the phone going from person after person up the chain, and finally on August 2nd he got a supervisor that admitted that they had no one in the State of Louisiana that could even work on our refrigerator!!!We are waiting for a call by 2:00 today to see what they are going to do about the situation, to fix or replace... oh, and the LG Extended Warranty will only reimburse us for $250 of our food, not to mention weve had to eat out much more and buy a smaller refrigerator just to keep a few cold food items in! The large LG refrigerator is simply terrific! It has 2 freezer drawers on the bottom and a really large refrigerator section with a giant pizza-width meat drawer. We chose the stainless steel finish and, admittedly, it is hard to clean but looks so nice when you polish it. The top double doors have just the right storage on the inside. The 3 fruit/veg. containers are nice and big. In the freezer I have unplugged the ice maker, because it took up too much room and simply leave an ice tray across one side of the top section divider. It allows for sections of food to be stored without being in a jumble. It is a very large and tall fridge and I didnt mind doing without the cupboard section that usually is hung above. I found 3 woven baskets that simply sit on top and look very nice there.

We bought 5 LG appliances in April of 2010 and had them installed in August same year. So far we have had to have the wall oven repaired twice after only 3 years. After the first repair it broke down again within 7 months and we were told the warranty for the new part was only 6 months! Trying to get a second repair took over a month of angry phone calls just to try to get a LG certified repair shop to even book an appointment! When contacting customer service they will not let you speak with any sort of management/supervisory personnel and there is no way to receive an address for a letter of complaint. Our convection microwave also stopped working after less than 3 years and had to be replaced at the same time as the second oven repair. Should have been done with the first oven repair but could not get the part from LG in time and they were going to charge for another service call!Side by side double drawer bottom mount freezer refrigerator hasnt had the water dispenser work for a couple years. Their top of the line dishwasher has been having grinding sounds for over a year and this week is now on a continual run cycle no matter which cycle you request, just does not stop as well as having the loud grinding sound the whole time it runs whether 2 minutes or 20 hours! Just waiting for our induction cooktop to be the last of the appliances to quit, should be coming any time now! It astounds me that consumers can pay top dollar for products and get lower than average results with the products and customer service. Trying to speak to anyone within the customer service center is a lesson in how not to conduct business, and not being able to have a contact address or email or phone number for customer complaint is infuriating.

We purchased our LG front loading washer and dryer in 2018. Like many of the reviews I have read we too are very disappointed in our purchase. I noticed that the clothes came out smelling within a few months of buying and I called LG DIRECTLY as it was under their warranty but was told that I need to run the tub clean more often. Done that for over a year and also washed clothes twice - not efficient as waste of energy. We do have an extended warranty and recently a tech came out so I let him open the washer door as I had just done a tub clean the night before - it smelled like a rat was dead in the drum. He too agreed he had never experienced that before! He poured half a bottle of my Bleach and ran the cycles again for almost 2 hours. Said the problem was fixed and if I experienced the smell again I needed to call them back thru Assurant the company who warranties the extended warranty. Did so and they declined to send a different tech saying that there was no mechanical problem. My clothes come out smelling and the even the dryer time has to be increased to double for the clothes to dry correctly. NEVER BUY THIS WASHER OR DRYER EVER. EVEN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WILL OT HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM. I bought the pair from a very reputable store in the area but I believe that LG Is aware of the problems with the machines and do not want to take responsibility for the defects. I do hope this review deters anyone buying an LG front load direct drive washer and dryer.

We paid a fortune for this washer. It is an LG Wave Force True Balance top load. As another consumer stated, you cannot wash a small or a very large load without the UE code showing on the display. The machine constantly tries to balance itself. To me, 1 or 2 things is a small load. Ive washed 10-12 articles of clothing and I still get a UE. I go in readjust the load, press start. 10 minutes later I get UE again. It takes me 2 hours to wash a load of clothes. The repairman came out twice. We had a discussion over the small load issue. So now my unfortunate solution has been to change to a slower spin speed (which often does not work either) or to wash pants, shirts, towels and under garments all together so I can come up with a load size that the machine will take. Very poor design. I will never buy an LG washer again. It was a waste of money.

It's just a truly functional dryer without any issues, going on six years of service. Does a good job every time. All dryers today have multiple settings that the older models didn't have. This LG dryer has those too but they remain practical settings for any material you may want to dry in it.

We bought a LG Stainless Steel DW in 99 for our remodel. I caught on fire. I called the company and was told they were aware of the problem and would give me a 1K credit for an upgrade to the 1.6K model. I did not want to pay that much for another LG. I returned it to a local business and got a partial refund towards a KA which is still working. 6 years ago we bought a new home with a complete LG kitchen. The stainless steel dishwasher caught on fire within a month. Didnt call LG this time. Just replaced it with a Bosch. I will never buy another LG appliance and do not recommend them.

I purchased an LG Gas range in November. Stainless/Blue interior. From the beginning, we could smell gas every time we turned on the oven. I researched the problem and several sites suggested the smell was because it was new and would go away in time. Ten months later, its as bad as ever! My daughter has Down syndrome and doesnt concern herself with the oven. No matter where she is in the house, within minutes of me turning on the oven, she literally goes into a gag mode. I have to open the windows and doors. Its so bad. Also, have had more than several dozens of times that a sleeve or bump turns on the burners. They are that sensitive! Why doesnt the company recall this product??? Horrible. Dont buy this product!!
