We purchased the French door/bottom freezer unit for $3000.00 (model LFXC24726S). Upon plugging it in, it seemed to be cooling down, although the ice maker was not working. We reported this on 2/19/15. At that time it seemed that the unit on the whole was cold enough to stock with food. The fancy door temperature reading reported that the freezer was at 0 degrees and the refrigerator was at 37 degrees. NOT THE SITUATION!! The next morning everything that we put in the freezer was totally soft. By that afternoon we were sure that the refrigerator section was nowhere close to 37 degrees. We spoke to LG service repeatedly and although we were told that we would have service on Monday morning, we waited all day and finally a service tech came at 5 pm. He diagnosed that the unit would need a new mother board and would be back the next morning. We again waited all day and at 7 pm he returned with another service tech. At 9:30 pm they said that they believed that all problems had been solved. The next morning the tech called to ask if everything was working properly. Nice of him to call, but in fact, the unit was totally warm; although the temperature reading on the door still reported that the freezer was 0 degrees and the refrigerator was 37 degrees. So much for the reliability of this fancy technology.It is now 5 working days later and we are told by the executive team at LG that this refrigerator will not be replaced until everything has been tried to repair it. The compressor that the tech is now saying would be the next thing to try is on back order and it will be at least another week until that is available. Until LG has tried to replace every part and rebuild this unit they will keep us waiting. Thanks a lot. We want everyone to consider this situation before you decide to buy an LG product.

We called service and they told us to stop using the machine immediately and they would send a service technician. The tech said we need a new tub assembly and it is NOT covered under warranty. It will cost $1100 to get fixed!!! Are you kidding ME??? I paid less than that for the washer 18 months ago! This is absolute BS. How can they NOT back their products after only 18 months. I am putting this POS out on the street and I will NEVER buy another LG product. LG products are garbage!

Good price for quality. It met my expectations and exceeded them. It felt like a luxury purchase and I wanted to upgrade from my Maytag side by side model that I had owned for 8 years. But the refrigerator really should have and needs more shelf depth. The drawers are a little smaller than I would like. The fridge is a little expensive. The freezer space smaller than I would like. Fingerprints hard to wipe off of the surface.

There have been times Ive put sopping wet clothes in my dryer because I get so sick of the endless cycles. Our washing machine did not work from the moment of moving into our new home. It was still under warranty. It is a LG washing machine. Model: WT1801HVA. I called LG in August of 2020 to have it repaired. Because we had no idea what was wrong with it and if it was covered under warranty, we decided to go with the flat rate program through LG. That means for one flat rate, no matter what is wrong with it, you won’t be charged anymore than that fee to fix it. This fee can be reimbursed if the machine cannot be fixed. I was charged $219.45 on Sept 2, 2020. We were given 3 companies to chose from to come out and fix it. The first company we called said they don’t come to Okotoks. The second company stated it was a two person job and refused to even look at it. The third company was Summer Breeze Appliance. They came out one time, could not fix it but ordered the parts. The second time they came out, they could not get the panel in correctly and came back another day. They put the new panel in and the washing machine worked once before not working again. We called Summer Breeze and the technician to advise them their work did not work. To this day, we have not heard back... I believe they are out of business. SO we decided to get paid out a pro rate fee for our washing machine through LG so we didn’t have to go through the hassle. We finally got our cheque for that a couple of months ago ($769.87). Here comes the headache. I requested to have the one time flat rate fee reimbursed sometime in December of 2020. I have called LG every two weeks since the beginning of January to get this money back. I have been told since January that the customer service representatives have contacted their finance department multiple times with no response. I provided LG with the exact date of the transaction and they asked me to check my credit card statements. I told them I had not received anything. The most recent dealings with LG have been the worse. On 2021/03/03, I spoke to an executive team member, Mohammed (**). After a very lengthy conversation he stated he will look into it (the same thing every other representative stated) and will get back to me. Not one customer service representative ever got back to me. So I asked him to call me back by a certain date with any information. He said he could not provide a date to call me back. I pleaded and said give me a date to call back please as I am so busy when I am working. He stated maybe by Monday. I said, ‘maybe? Can you please promise Monday and not maybe?’. He stated ‘hopefully I won’t pass away by then. Hopefully I will still be alive to speak to you on Monday’. Monday 2021/03/08, at noon, I still hadn’t heard from Mohammed and thought maybe he did in fact pass away (cruel humour I know). I called LG and asked to speak to him. The customer service representative said that he was unavailable and that he will call me when he is free. Hours go by with no call. It is now 1 hour before they close. I call and ask to speak to another executive team member. He states he can’t help me because Mohammed has the information. I ask to speak to upper management. He hangs up on me. I call back and speak to Ernesto who tells me I have to email to speak to upper management. Email has been sent. He also says that Mohammed is right next to him. I ask him to ask Mohammed for an update. He said he couldn’t do that. Ernesto states the refund has been ‘approved’. He stated Covid has disrupted everything. I ask for him to put my call on hold to speak to Mohammed about ‘details only he can provide’. He refuses as well and hangs up on me. I am hoping to get some resolution to this matter. I have spent upwards of 14 hours on the phone with LG and feel like I am not getting anywhere. We are still without our washing machine and this has been a huge disruption in our life.

I purchased this product as reviews had been good, and the price was right. It has been the worst machine I have ever owned. In spite of trying various settings, and contacting the manufacturer, clothes just dont get clean, and even today, linens that I took out had more stains on them than when they went in. The clothes dont agitate, and even if you use a setting that adds more water, the clothes just dont move around. They come out in the same position as when you loaded the machine. Forget using a water-saving setting - the clothes are barely damp. The machine will go off balance if there is anything, even one item, that is of a different weight. It resets itself endlessly. I miss my old Maytag and cant wait for a reason to get rid of the LG Washer. The drier is also a problem, but I guess I can live with wrinkled clothes more than I can with dirty ones. Dont buy an LG.

Ive had this fridge for over 3 years and it finally stopped cooling and making ice in April. LG has sent out 3 different technicians to repair it but none of them seems to know what is wrong with it. One tech said the issue was with the compressor, they ordered the part, when the tech came to install the new compressor he said there is nothing wrong with the compressor. It is the motherboard that went out. He returned to install the new motherboard and it is still not working. There is an issue with this particular fridge based on all the reviews Ive seen online. They need to do a recall on this fridge since it is a manufacturing issue and replace all those fridges that people are issues with. I am still waiting for my issue to be resolved.

LG sent out a tech for $275 (I had to pay in advance) that did nothing and said the coils were dirty and needed to be cleaned and left. I cleaned them and it still is not working. I also did the over the phone diagnostic with the India call center (customer disservice) which was completely useless. I will be doing a dispute on my credit card for the BS service call and hope I can get a real tech to fix it. I also have the 10 year warranty sticker on my door, total scam. The range - front panel cracked due to heat (ON A RANGE!!!!). The Dryer - the drum cracked to the point where clothes can probably get through. Three of the four LG appliances that we purchased at almost $6,000.00 for the set, have failed in some way since the delivery in July, 2016. The stove has caused two fires. The Microwave computer display has gone crazy and displays all manner of odd characters blinking or scrolling across the display. It doesnt microwave for the time set so we dont dare trust it to do 20 seconds when it could easily do 6 minutes or more. *See Photos. The Refrigerator began failing a little over a month after we installed it. This is a known issue to LG, as I see many buyers of the LG in-door ice maker refrigerators complaining of the same problem. Leaking water and ice build up in the door jam, forming ice in the door jam and inside the refrigerator, making it impossible to open the left produce drawer as the ice blocks it, or to close the front doors completely as ice builds up. *See Photos. The Dishwasher never worked correctly. The detergent compartment wont open. Not with liquid detergent, not with powder detergent, not EMPTY. The heating element doesnt work as the dishes come out sopping wet, even when I choose Extra Dry as a cycle. The Stove is an EXTREME fire danger. The knobs turn so easily and light the flame automatically on high that me reaching over the stove to grab something has turned a burner on more than once. When we were installing the microwave this happened and our shirt, the cardboard and plastic we had protecting the stove from dust, all caught FIRE. Also our cat walking across the knob, turned it on, burning our cats fur. I can not imagine what would happen with children in the home. We should have to push in the knob and turn it in order to light the flame as a safety precaution. Any slight bump or brush on the knobs turns the burners on high. We have to put tape on the knobs to keep them from being turned on accidentally. I see this is a known issue from the volumes of similar complaints from consumers who have bought the LG gas stove. In my opinion, this should be a Class-Action Lawsuit. I sincerely hope it doesnt require the loss of life or 3rd degree burns in order for LG to recall these stoves and do the right thing. So here we spent nearly $6,000.00 on new appliances even though we are on a fixed Military Disability income. Now we have $6,000.00 worth of paperweights by LG. The Model numbers of our appliances are as follows: LG Dishwasher LDT9965BD, LG Microwave LMHM2237BD, LG Gas Stove LDG4315BD, LG Refrigerator LMXC23746D.Uninstalling these appliances and replacing them with Non-LG, quality appliances that will work and not fail, are a significant difficulty for us with my husband disabled and only me to complete the work. It will require me having to hire and pay someone to uninstall the appliances, move them out to the garage and then install the new appliances.We will never buy LG anything, again. I am waiting for a response from LG. Calls to LG are useless with either overseas Operators saying I am sorry Maam for the inconvenience over and over. Or worse, saying that my issues are all Cosmetic and therefore not covered under manufacturer warranty. Calls to the United States Offices of LG also put me on hold forever and then I get hung up on. I did email LG again today. Costco has been much more responsive and I have been working with them over the last 4 months to get a resolution. I have asked Costco to stop selling LG Appliances in their warehouse and online.

There are so many things we dislike about this appliance. 1. Its very difficult to judge the temperature of the cooktop. The burner turns on and off and the heat is not consistent while cooking. 2. Extremely difficult to keep it clean. It does not clean up well even though people say it does. Even after wiping the surface clean it still has marks or rings on it. 3. When we cook food in the oven it does not cook evenly. When we make a pizza it looks done. When we take it out and begin eating it I discover parts of the pizza that are still cold. Its very odd. The edges can look crispy but parts are still uncooked. 4. Sometimes NEW does not mean better. The old style gas ranges are so much better than these new style appliances. 5. Numbers on the dials are very difficult to read. Depending on the light in your kitchen you may have trouble even reading whether you have your dial set on 3 or 8, etc. The light gray print on the knobs is not contrasting enough to be easy to see. Again, an old fashioned white dial with black letters is a win win in my book.Advice - DO NOT BUY THIS or any LG appliance - we have the microwave and the refrigerator too and dont like those either.

The call today from LG said it was not covered, only parts to fix and since it was not fixable, they could only pro-rate my fridge. I am crying. I paid over 1000 dollars for it.. I took good care of it. Now being mid-February, and hundreds of dollars in fees to have them say they need to get second and third opinions for fridge being deemed unrepairable, and indeed covered by warranty, they are saying they are not going to do it. They will give me a fraction of the money I initially put out in good faith for the cost of the refrigerator. I am exhausted financially and every single person I have known to own anything LG has gone through this very same experience. Televisions are burned out the day after warranty and LG policies to serve their consumers are horrible. I have been asked to resubmit my proof of purchase receipts so many times that Best Buy themselves started submitting it for me through their own fax machines. Its ridiculous. I will never buy LG products again. No one buy anything, rip offs, total complete rip offs!

Immediately noticed $5/month drop in electric bill. Great start! March 2017 I start hearing noises that werent there for the 1st 6 months. Call up Geek Squad, they send someone out immediately. They diagnose problem as compressor, which they are not allowed to touch. Call up LG. It takes me 5 calls over 2 weeks to get a technician to come out. April 2017 tech diagnoses that the noise is within normal range, no fix available. Early August my daughter starts complaining about warm cheese in her sandwiches. No one else complains in the house. Late August I learn that I had sent my daughter to school with spoiled milk (I informed her before she drank it). Thought maybe it might have been older milk, but I was pretty sure it was fresh. 2nd Monday Sept. I touch a Gatorade that had been frozen and moved to fridge door and it is warm to touch. I take an instant read thermometer and plunge it into various food and drink and measure temperatures of 57, 57, and 51 (drawer) deg. F. Call LG. Am told it will be 3-5 days before I am recontacted by an LG tech. Sept 12. Call Geek Squad and the next day I have someone out who diagnoses that the compressor is not working. Buy ice cream because I thought the freezer was working as it frozen some leftovers on Monday. Alas, the ice cream is pretty much just below melting point. Sept. 13, 2017: Waiting to hear back from both LG and Geek Squad to see what path to take. Geek Squad has been incredibly responsive. LG, not so much.

I feel reluctant to have it repaired again as I feel that there is something fundamentally wrong with this appliance. If it is repaired again now, there is no guarantee it won’t need repairing again in the near future. As the warranty is coming up, I don’t want to take this chance. I have already been greatly inconvenienced. On 6 occasions, I have had to leave work to meet with the repairer to have the oven fixed. Often I have to wait for the part. I estimate that so far I have had to take 15-18 hours from work to deal with this. Also, at the moment I am without a working oven and this has been the case for 3 weeks. The customer service at LG is very poor. I would not recommend LG appliances and I will certainly never buy them again.

I was told that it was due to sales tax. Total nonsense as nobody charges over 60% tax and we dont even pay tax on service calls in this state!After calling back, I managed to get the price back down to what was promised and secured an appointment for the next afternoon. The next morning I received an overnight-mail package. It was the pump for my dishwasher which had arrived before the technician could even look at the machine. Obviously LG has had this problem many times before if they know the problem before they can even look at the appliance! Why was there no recall of the defective part if the problem is that common? This company is to be avoided at all costs. They will lie to you and will do absolutely anything to avoid accepting responsibility for their worthless products! If there were a negative number of stars with which I could rate them, I would.

We have an extended warranty which would not cover replacement if broken within 3 months. We now have a shelf that is also broke that is not covered by the warranty. We do not have children living at home and are not hard on appliances. The plastic in this fridge is very brittle and does not stand up to normal everyday use. LG does not allow purchase of parts, even through an appliance repair, so you can replace these parts yourself. In Canada you must pay a service person to come out to replace these parts!!

Washed a full size down duvet without issue The washer adjusts water to load size and uses the least amount of water needed. I do not understand how it cleans perfectly using so little water. The dryer uses a cool setting for normal. Heavier fabrics come out damp and need an extra dry cycle to finish. Towels dry completely on the heavy duty cycle. Wrinkling is not a problem.

I was very happy with the French Dr. Electrolux so I chose to look for similar replacement. I went to Consumer Reports and found that it rated the LG LFXS28S96S/04 as the best French Door available.On 11-2-2021 I purchased one from Costco. I was very happy with most of the features, until it started making ice. Within a few days the door ice maker would not drop any ice. Upon checking I found that the ice in the small door ice maker were clumped together. Reading the instructions I had to break the clumps so the ice would come down the chute. In thirty years I had never encountered such a problem. I have a fifteen year old Maytag still working and prior to that a Sears which never gave me any problems with the ice maker. I cannot understand how Consumer Reports would have given the LG such high reviews that testing an actual use of the unit would have shown the problems with the door ice maker. I saw later that other consumers of the LG refrigerators have experience the same problems I did.

More than 20 minutes later, I finally finished cleaning up the mess from the ice maker being frozen up and unable to dispense ice cubes. The resolution, as always, was to take everything apart to unblock the dispenser that was loaded with a frozen chunk of ice cubes and frost, which is likely due to the flap on the dispenser getting stuck open for some reason. This is NOT a one time occurence but one Ive been dealing with since the fridge was purchased more than 3 years ago. This combined with its ridiculously slow time to make ice has convinced me to NEVER, EVER buys another LG product.My contacting LG for support was an insult - everything was my fault and they stood by their claim that they were perfect and I was a nuisance for having contacted them. Ive had similar experiences with contacting them about their ranges, where the front edge of the stove top kept getting chip marks. Turns out they no longer sell a paint to fix these chips and asking them why was met with indifference. Methinks this is because theyre trying to avoid the liability of them having sold a product that has inferior paint or a large batch of ranges with faulty paint.

It was also recommended that I replace the noise filter at the same time. Parts and labor would be over $300 not including diagnostic fee. After waiting a month for the parts, they installed them and it worked. After about 6 loads it died again! Ive been waiting for the new parts and its been over a month! I asked the repair company if they could just refund my money so I could just get a new one and they said they wanted to install the new parts first. They have yet to receive my parts and I am spending $25 a week at the laundromat. The first mistake I made was buying an LG washer and dryer. My second mistake was calling a bad repair company. They sent them out again and it was replaced a second time and still didn’t work. The repairman deemed it unfixable. We were told if it was deemed unfixable we would get reimbursed for the fridge or a new one, they had us email them our sale invoice so they could get us a new fridge. That was a lie. They sent the repairman out again. They had them replace every part in the fridge and guess what it still doesn’t work. Our refrigerator has not worked for 4 months, they have sent their repair company to our house 8 times. That is 8 days of missed work waiting on them to get here and work on the fridge. We have been told by a few of the customer service people on the phone that this case is getting escalated. Well it hasn’t. We have been told that if we were without the fridge 30 days it would get replaced that was a lie, not fixable it would get replaced also a lie. So we call them once again to let them know it isn’t working and now they say they can’t send someone out until January 7th. That’s another month without the damn fridge. We are beyond fed up with the poor customer service and absolute lies we have been told. Do yourself a huge favor and do not buy from this company.

When our 5.5 year old LG refrigerator (model LFX21976) stopped cooling and freezing, we called an Anchorage technician to come check it. He determined that it had a compressor failure which is a sealed system issue a warranty item. He called LG to establish a claim. The LG contact ran through a diagnostic and told our tech to first replace the inverter control (not a warranty item). Our tech refused, telling LG that he was not going to charge us for work that he knew was not the problem. He persuaded the LG contact to record our claim as a sealed system (compressor) issue. Our techs company refuses to do sealed system warranty work for LG.When we called LG to confirm the warranty repair and find out who would do LG warranty work, we were given 3 names. One was the company we originally contacted. The second advised that they too will not do LG sealed system warranty work. Only the third, located in Palmer, AK, would do the work. He charges a $35 travel fee for the hour drive to Anchorage. Having no choice, we made an appointment. He confirmed the sealed system compressor problem. Because we would be traveling, he took our refrigerator to his shop so he could work on it there when the part arrived. We expected the work to be completed when we returned.When he contacted LG to have the part shipped, he was told to replace the inverter board and main PCB not warranty items. He did this work without contacting us. He said he had to go with what LG said even though he and LG had both been told that the inverter board and main PCB were both functioning correctly. When we returned, the Palmer tech said, Good news. It wasn’t what he thought and it did not cost as much as the warranty work would have. It did cost $438.95. He brought our refrigerator back in a few days but advised not to plug it in until the next day so the fluids could settle. We plugged it in; it did not cool or freeze. The same problem we originally reported.When he came back several days later, he concluded that it really was a sealed system compressor problem. It then took more than two weeks to get the part. He did the repair. The refrigerator again works. But the warranty only covers the part, not the $450 labor. We were without use of our refrigerator for two months and paid for unnecessary work. A 5.5 year old refrigerator should not fail! Based on other reviews maybe we were lucky to have it work that long! But the lack of service companies willing to do LG warranty work is reason not to buy an LG refrigerator in Anchorage, Alaska.

THEN, diagnostic fees before problem is determined. IF it was the compressor those have a 10 year warranty. Repairmen say theyd have to order the $800 compressor then come out again ($150 travel) to install.Customer service is located in Manilla. They are only authorized to refer me to several repairmen but would only replace the actual compressor - nothing else, not even food loss. Im living on a small fixed income after retirement becoming disabled. Often spending time away in hospital each year. It has been months summer since Ive had use of the refrigerator. Then in May, it was really not freezing the bottom half, but I like the freezer part of it. My old refrigerator had the freezer on top, and I like the bottom freezer, but it just doesnt work. I do like the icemaker feature and when it was making ice. I also like the water part of it, and then the freezer thats in the bottom. Its a nice refrigerator. It was kinda top of the line, and then the lady gave me a little bit of a discount on it, so we have then paid for it.There was a technician out here who was checking it out. LG sent him out, and they figured out it was the temperature gauge, but he said in 2020 they are coming out with the new coolant for the refrigerator. So, I dont know if that would make a difference, but it isnt gonna help me because the reason they couldnt replace that is that they said they didnt have technicians to do it, so it might be something new. Also, I just got an email from Mat, and he said theyre still figuring out whether theyre give me the refund or a replacement. I know I took a little time. I didnt know how to take pictures of my papers and download them to him. I figured that out, and I finally got it to him yesterday. He replied back that he gave it to his boss, and theyre still looking it over.

It is now January 21, 2013 and I am still without a refrigerator! I called the LG Hotline on December 23rd and was told that they could have their certified repairman out on the 28th of December. He came out and told me we needed a new compressor; he didnt carry this part on his truck so it would have to be ordered. The compressor would take a week to get here. On 1/3/2013, he returned with the compressor, installed it, added Freon to the refrigerator and stayed until he felt the unit started to cool. He told us to wait 24-48 hours. Being a little gun shy about losing all of my food the first time (I had the refrigerator stocked for the holidays), I waited a little longer to go out, purchase more food and sure enough on 1/7/13, the refrigerator stopped cooling again. I called LG and was told that the repairman that had been out before was off for two weeks, and that I needed to call a different authorized repair shop. I did and was told by the person at that repair shop that they did not work on compressors and would not come out. I called LG back again, spoke with a different person and was told that our original repair person could be out on 1/10/2013. He came back out and after trying different things, we were told that the refrigerator could not be fixed and that it would have to be replaced. He gave us a fax number to fax everything to LG, which I did the next morning. I received a call from the repair center the next day and was told by Barbara from LG Repair Center that I would need to email the paperwork to her. I told her that I had faxed everything the day before. She told me that was just a general fax number and to email everything to her at an email address that she would email to me. I tried a few times to email the paperwork to her only to get error messages; the email would not go through. I called Barbara back and she gave me her fax number, so I once again faxed all of the paperwork to her. I received a call from Barbara the next day to tell me that they would have to get a replacement refrigerator from their LG warehouse, and that it would take 7-10 business days before someone would contact me to set up a delivery date. I asked her where their warehouse was located, and she told me TX; I told her that I lived in TX! I asked why so long, and she told me that they have to tell everyone that it will be 7-10 business days for someone to contact me to set up delivery. I have been a month without a refrigerator. I have spent more money on eating out and buying ice this one month than what I spend in a year’s time. Not only does LG not care, they dont care!I will never buy another LG for as long as I live. I wish that I would have seen this blog before I bought this piece of crap. I will tell all of my friends and family about this. I am hoping that they tell all of their friends and family. The ice machine is my favorite part. Also the fact that it is a stainless steel appliance means it is easy to clean and just be wiped off for a fast and easy finish. Its an ok fridge all around but the cons would be it smudges easily. Apparently the unit we purchased, a top loader inverter has issues with drainage after a short period of time. The washer is unbearably smelly. Water seems to stay in the plastic tub instead of draining. After going thru the manual and reading all the complaints online after the fact, we have not found a solution for a practically new washer. Oh, and our purchase records are apparently lost. So of course their only solution is to contact service and pay to have their known issue fixed. I will never purchase LG again. Have not had issues with other vendors like I have had with this one. The finish on it has faded, during the spin cycle the vibration is horrible, knocking things off the shelf, the smell cannot be controlled along with the mold on the rubber seal. Now I notice chipping on the glass on my front loader that has now produced a crack along one side and is making its way toward the center. Never will I purchase the LG brand again!

I WONT BUY A LG ELECTRIC RANGE AGAIN. The LG Range Oven model # LRE383ST01 we purchased in 2015 has been nothing but trouble. In the first year the burner and main board went out. Luckily we were still under the warranty so LG sent their technician to replace them. A few weeks after the warranty expired, the glass top made a pop noise and cracked like a spider web on the lower right burner and spread. We called LG, explained the situation and told them this seems a factory part defect. They politely blamed us of dropping something on the glass which was 100% false and they used we are sorry to gently fade their fault with this. We let it go - not to waste our time. Price of a new glass top is near $400. Couple month after the new range top was installed the new glass top cracked again. It couldnt happen at a better time but Christmas Eve 2016, with having family over, around 4 pm while food cooking, the glass top made a loud pop noise and broke again on the lower right burner. Here was my experience with LG Range and dealing with the company who took the easy road to blame the customer for their defective part. Now I have an expensive LG range-oven with another broken glass top. My recommendation: Stay away from LG Range with glass top.

It has an option for bulk and advertises all these bells and whistle options but my old Whirlpool 13 year old dryer worked better I must say. Keep in mind I had professional install for the unit and vent and the problem is the unit, well maybe only mine? The dryer accumulates lint at the bottom of the lint bay eventually not allowing it be caught on the screen it comes with. This lint clogging at the bottom is a hazard and can cause fire. Even though the machine has sensors which may stop the unit before a fire thank God, but its brand new...why should I be dealing with this as it seems to me to be a DEFECT. Now I have to check the bottom of the lint bay and use a special connection to my vacuum to ensure its not clogging up and shutting off during every dry cycle which costs me time and headaches as a father with a family. I purchased the new technology to try and get help and make my life easier but I ended up with a headache now. Wish I went with Electrolux as the reviews lead me to but the PC Richards man was so adamant and strong with opinion on LG being the best...this is not the case for me. LG was contacted and initially stated that I would be responsible for taking the faulty unit to their authorized repair center in Chino Hills, Ca. - about 15 or 20 miles from my home - and pay for the repair.I informed them that I had taken the liberty of visiting this website and discovered that there appears to be some sort of electrical defect in their microwave considering the number of failures, the description of the failures and the short period of time between its purchase and the apparent electrical collapse of their product. In my experience, an item with a record this poor should be on some sort of safety recall list before it causes an injury or fire, but Ive not been advised of any such recall by either of the two customer service personnel I contacted during the course of our conversations on August 21, 2015.After being placed on hold for an eternity, and refusing to be blown off with what I can only describe as double speak, I informed the initial customer service person and the subsequent one that here in California there are regulations in place to protect consumers against abuses by big corporations with a bait and switch approach to consumer sales. According to this customer service contact, LG boasts their Magnetron has a 10 year warranty but to capitalize on this claim, the consumer must first pay for the labor involved which usually is a large portion of the initial cost of the unit!I have opened a claim or case # of ** with the assisting personnel who now report that there will be either a refund/credit or replacement within 6-8 weeks but they could not elaborate on which. In the interim, Im left without a microwave for the duration. If LG does the right thing, Ill report it, if not Ill provide that information as well.

The ice crisper drawers are cheaply made and fall off their track on a weekly basis. This problem began happening within a year of use. In the last year (so 4 years of use), our interior light bulb malfunctioned and melted its own plastic casing, our ice maker has broken and had to be replaced, and our water line (the one that runs the ice and water of the refrigerator) has sprung 2 separate pinhole leaks. Those leaks have caused water damage to our kitchen floor as well as the wall behind the refrigerator. All of the problems have been fixed at our expense. My furious third call back to LG, LG assigned the repair to LGs own technician and said first availability will be 4 days out.Next morning after vacay, we took the fridge apart and removed the heavy houses door in order to get the LG outside to clean and remove the smell. The next several days we tediously cleaned with vinegar and baking soda several times a day. LG technician came 4 days later and confirmed the compressor is bad and its on order and will be expedited to the house the next day. The next day it took 1.5 hr to replace the compressor and the labor charge was $460 (with tax).I contacted LG executive services and informed them my experience. They replied via email saying my product is out of warranty yada yada and zero compensations or apologies for poor quality product. This was the second major issue with this fridge. 5 months after we bought it, the controller was bad (defrost timer was bad) causing the freezer to ice up and the fan kept hitting ice LOUD bangs. It took LGs technician FOUR trips/appointments to the house and TWO technicians to determine it was the defrost timer. Had to take off work to meet technicians. They replace the controller board to fix this issue. We bought a mini 3.3 cu ft. fridge (NOT LG) to get us by while the LG was out. I wont recommend LG fridge to anyone and wont buy another LG fridge.

We had our kitchen completely gutted and when it came to appliances we purchased and LG range and fridge. Both are working just fine. It takes a bit of getting used to when going from appliances from the 70s and 80s to new. We have had no problems with the fridge but then we have only been using it for a couple of months. The stove works fine. I thought getting a new stove would mean that I would wait a shorter time for a pot of water to boil but no. We are having a problem with the smell of gas every time we use the range. Whether it be the oven or burners, we smell gas. There is conflicting information on the internet as to whether this is normal. We shouldnt be able to smell gas in other rooms other than the kitchen but we do when we use the range. The other issue which is major is the knobs for turning on the burners. This is a complete safety hazard and how this design passed any safety inspections before selling to the public is beyond me. I have singed my long hair twice, once reaching into a cupboard near the stove and another cleaning by the stove just because I barely leaned against the range. The knobs turn by barely brushing up against them and instantly the burner is on before you can get out of the way. If my children were still small I would not keep this stove. It is a accident just waiting to happen. I find this design terribly irresponsible for a company to have and this range should be recalled. I also find the venting of the oven across the cook top not the best design also. When I use the oven and the burners at the same time too much heat is being created and at one time our range hood fan went off on its own and didnt shut off until the heat had dissipated. At the same time the oven vent causes the pots on the stove to heat up even more than from being on the burners and the handles can not be handled unless using a pot holder. It bakes well. We find we use the convection more because on bake food isnt crisping up as much as we would like. I guess thats the difference between electric heat and gas. Companies need to stand by their products better. Our old fridge of 25 years is still going on strong and has been relegated to the car port as an overflow fridge. I am certain that these new appliances of today would never last that long. If the new LG fridge goes we might have to bring the old one back inside. Oh and our 2 year old Samsung T.V. just completely died. What quality!!!

LGs policy states a maximum of $300 food reimbursement and if our unit is deemed unrepairable even under warranty, we have no option but to pay for junk hauling. At least during the 1 year warranty, LG did pay for the repair costs, however now that this warranty is over, I guess I am looking at spending $300.00 or more per year in repair costs to keep the units operating. LG Customer Service states that they will not extend the 1 year warranty or replace either of units. Buyers should consider other manufactures such as Kenmore, Westinghouse, etc. My past experience with Kenmore has been very good, and I am now sorry we did not buy Kenmore units. Then, I receive this “must do recall” on the washing machine, and I took care of this service on February 28th. Well, that was the biggest mistake of my life. I hate this washing machine. It takes hours to wash a load of wash. It continually gets unbalanced while trying to spin and then starts to add water and try again. This becomes continual and you never know when your wash is going to be done. The express wash of 35 minutes ended up to be 75 minutes yesterday. Tomorrow it could be another time, and the day after that, another time. If you are not having issues with your machine, skip the recall service. I am wasting my time, my clothes are getting worn out from continual washes at one time, and my electricity bill is going up. Plus, I have an expensive washing machine that is probably soon going to the dump because I know they are not going to give me my money back.

I now call daily to see where the status of my service is. Each customer service representative tells me that they will handle the situation & not to worry. I still dont have a working refrigerator. They sent a technician out & they found that it was the compressor so replaced it. It never worked. That was a month ago. That particular technician has since stopped accepting LG service orders. So now I have to start the whole process over w/ a new technician company.As of today, 3/20/21 Ive not received an appointment & I still dont have a working refrigerator. They did reimburse me $250 for a mini fridge & were supposed to send me $200 for food lost... never saw the $200. I live 30 minutes from the closest grocery store & 20 minutes from the closest restaurant. A mini fridge isnt cutting it. AGAIN, DO NOT BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR!!! The customer service has been less than helpful

Purchased LG fridge couple years ago from Home Depot on clearance. Nice, big, spacious. The ice maker has a silly ice plus button to make more ice. First, the ice compartment is small so the ice plus button is really needed to be on all the time. Second, ice plus button turns off automatically. So if you use a lot ice dont buy one that has an ice plus button. LG should have an ice maker that does not need an ice plus button. Thirdly, the so called water filters you have to purchase from home depot are not oem filters. The OEM filters are high priced and need to be changed every three months to get the water to dispense like it did when it was new. I will not purchase another LG ice & water dispenser on a fridge. For future reference buy simple less headaches.

LG should be thoroughly ashamed that they have released this piece of junk in the public domain. The washer does not use enough water to wash properly and leaves clothes stinking and gross. The thing vibrates like crazy on spin cycles, it sounds like it is going to rip itself apart half the time. Yes, you can use less detergent and leave the door open, and clean the thing with bleach every week, but your clothes still end up stinking. As punishment, I think the designers of (and those who tested) this travesty of engineering should be forced to use it for a year so they can see what everyone is talking about. I will never buy another LG product because of this or recommend them to anyone. The company deserves to go under for such a horrible transgression.

Technician with 35 years experience came out and said the compressor is shot. Not drawing the required amps. Called LG and they said it is out of warranty but they cover the compressor for 10 years so not to worry. They gave me a work order number and said the compressor and labor would be covered and to call back in 24-48 hours to see if the repair is approved. I called back in after 48 hours and the lady told me my claim number was not correct, all my information was there but not my name.I was told again not to worry and someone would be calling me back and I confirmed with her that my work order number was valid. I waited one week and when I called back the lady told me again that my work order number was not correct. She told me that she can see where I called but my fridge is out of warranty so they need to reach out to the place that looked at it to see if they will do the repair but I will be responsible for the labor. She asked for the name and email for the repair place and I gave it to her. The repair place with 35 years experience told me not to waste my money trying fix an LG. Its just going to break again and again. He told me to suck it up and put my money towards a better product.They will not perform the repair because of the POOR quality of LG. Now the lady gives me a number of a place that is 1.35 hours away (Rochester. I live in Buffalo) to set up for the repair. I guess that the fact that no one within a 1.35 hour radius of a major metropolitan area will touch an LG shows how horrible their products are and how bad they treat their customers. Called the repair place they gave me and Im still waiting for a call back. I run a large worldwide company and I will make sure I let everyone I know understand my exhausting and terrible experience.

It has been wonderful, until it stopped making ice, then no cold water, then the freezer stopped working and finally the fridge portion. I called 2 different companies for their estimates. Both told me to throw the refrigerator out. It is only 5 years old. Cost me almost 2500.00 new from Brandsmart. After reading online reviews I find this is happening to many consumers and all with the same problem. I feel so cheated. My advice is to stay with Whirlpool, GE, or KitchenAid.

So my husband buys me this (visually) great-looking LG French door fridge, Christmas last year. 28.8 cubic feet, white and sassy. Pattys in love! Supposedly $3000 but on sale for $1800 at Brandsmart. Still a pretty penny, and I added a 5-year warranty.Last month I was clearing dishes and walked into my kitchen and wiped out in a puddle of water, everything flew everywhere, I landed on my knee... awesome bruise! Lucky I didnt break my neck or cut myself on the wine glasses I was carrying that went crashing to the floor. Angry much? How do I summarize this quickly? Cant! It took two weeks, scads of phone calls (of course ALL calls are taken by someone in Asia and the voice recognition software doesnt recognize the word refrigerator more than half the time and there are no options to actually press a number button)... I lost most of my food, lived out of a cooler, constantly buying ice... when the local fridge repairman came he was GREAT but said it needed a new computer panel. Fine. 3 days later, computer panel installed, fridge working again. More phone calls, claim filed, fought for $150 food reimbursement.STORY OVER? NO! Its happened AGAIN! Puddles on the floor, melted frozen goods... and I am... well, Ill just be nice and say upset! Of course LG is SO SORRY, MAAM... we can get someone over there in 3 days! I must confess to yelling NO WAY! and today (its Monday 10/22 & the fridge started plotzing on Saturday) my friendly repairman came a day early because I WHINED on the phone this morning to them.NOW I NEED A COMPRESSOR! Back to cleaning out freezer and fridge, living out of a cooler and trips to get ice. Should have one in 2-3 days. Somehow this doesnt ease my mind. Ive declared to LG Im telling everyone I know to never buy LG appliances! They dont seem to care... probably because theyre safely 5000 miles away from me! ;o) Enough said? The washer has three issues; one, it does not get the clothes clean; two, if you run a load with bleach you have to run an empty load to clean all of the bleach out; three, after every wash you must wipe the door ring out to prevent any odor. The dryer has two issues; one, it does not dry clothes well; two, More lint goes outside than the lint screen catches (we had representative over to look at it and he stated that this is just the way it is with the new dryers). The Customer support responses treat us like children when we get a response. Bottom line, we despise the units and do not recommend to any of our friends.

We have had our LG 2301HR Direct Drive Front Loading washer going on two years. First of all, when the washer starts its water loading process, the valves close so forcefully and quickly that the water pipes throughout the house clang, bang and shake. You can not only hear them but you can feel them. To make matters worse, the closing of the valves are frequent and many throughout a wash cycle. This is a major design flaw.Secondly, I am replacing today the cold water inlet tri-valve system due to a water leak that developed in one of the valves (most likely due to the water loading process). I believe this will fix the water leak but unfortunately it will not affect the rapid shutoff process that created it. Hence, the part is only 35 bucks but that is with me doing the work and finding the problem. Too soon to be having problems with repair or replacement and I feel this solution to be only palliative.Third, yes I, too, have the same problems with all clothing having a moldy, musky odor. This has been since day one. We have tried and are still trying ways mentioned by the other reviewers with little to no resolution. The clothes do not smell clean because of the mold problem and it is obvious some soil is remaining in the clothing. Overall, the initial price tag of the washer made it a big decision for our family. It, too, was a replacement for our older top loader that worked just fine.We were sold on the idea that it was much more energy efficient and would pay for itself in time with the energy and water savings. LG is making inferior washing machines at the cost of our ignorance or belief that we are buying a better product. They are deemed defective presented by the problematic facts as testified by the reviewers/owners. The health issue alone (mold and mildew) should be enough for the Federal Health Dept to intervene.What about the BBB (Better Business Bureau)? Someone getting paid off?! What happened to our rights as consumers? Our forefathers are turning over in their graves. My seasonal allergies have become year-round chronic and come to think of it...it has been for the last two years. Go figure.
