In 2013 I purchased a set of LG large capacity washer and dryer. I was excited when I got my new machines. At first I was amazed, as it did not seem my clothes had been washed so clean and dried so efficiently in years, compared to my old washer and dryer. After a few months, it seemed the washer would stop itself more and more often, with a UE flashing on the screen and required opening the machine and rearrange heavy wet clothing until it would spin through. About that time I received a notice of a recall that affected my machine. I called the recall hotline number and a technician was sent to replace the faulty parts. This solved the problem with balance and wash cycle, but left the washer with few choices for temperature. You have the choice of warm/warm, regardless of the setting other than tap cold. Cold/cold runs warm/warm. At least the machine was operating and cleaning the clothes. I was told it may happen again and that, if it did, to keep the number for the recall hotline. I have always made a special point of taking large blankets or anything other than regular clothing or bedding/towels, to a public laundry.Recently, once again, the machine has been throwing the clothing to the side and refusing to complete the load without the struggle of reaching in and rearranging the load, reading unbalanced several times before the load would finish. The last load I did was two regular bed sheets and a few wash clothes and it stopped twice before completed the cycle.I called the recall hotline from my paperwork and a tech was sent to our home, today. I was at work, so my husband greeted the repair technician. After trying the machine on its cycle, running on empty, he called me at work to tell me it tested normal. I assured him it was far from normal. The technician proceeded to tell me it is very important with this delicate machine, to only wash light loads of the same clothing, such as sheets only, towels only, light cotton with like size and fabric and jeans or heavier clothing, with only a few at a time and no other clothing. He stated he wanted to run a load of laundry to test the machine. My husband started putting clothes into the washer when the technician stopped him and told him to select only a few items of like size and fabric. The technician ran the load and called to inform me the machine had no problems and he was closing the ticket on the repair. I told the repairman to go home and ask his wife if she would be satisfied to do her laundry under the specifications he was informing me, this delicate machine (large capacity, supposed high power) requires. All of this to say, LG does not stand behind their product, the parts are sub quality and the massive recall on this machine only served to put a band-aid on a major problem. The machines should have been replaced and the customer should have been satisfied, instead of spending $850 on a machine that has lasted a total of 3 years. Do not buy LG, unless you have money to burn.

We purchased our gas range from Home Depot. The first range had a gas leak and home Depot replaced it with the exact same. Down the road the knob for the oven head broken. I called LG and mentions the broken oven knob and also mentioned that we had smelled gas coming from the stove. They sent out a technician to fix the oven knob but not check to see if the stove was leaking gas. We experienced natural gas smells on and off in our kitchen. So then I decided to call again and then they sent someone out to check on the gas leak. It was leaking gas due to a manufacturer defect just like the very first stove. This gas leak had been going on for about 9 months. LG has horrible customer service, long wait times on the phone and they do not care that this natural gas that has been leaking from their stove has caused health issues for all of our family members. The health issues that we as a family have experienced are lightheadedness, burning eyes, headaches, ringing of the ears, flu like symptoms, breathing problems and chest pains. After the repair of the gas leak we called LG to let them know we do not feel comfortable with having their gas range in our home after this being the second one that has been leaking natural gas. They did not care. They did not show concern. They were not willing to provide a new unit. The care of this company is not about the well-being of their customers. We have also had trouble with the refrigerator and dishwasher being stainless steel having rust on them. I did also bring this up during the phone call but they said thats not their problem. Not sure how you can call something stainless steel put your name on it and then say its not your problem. All of these experiences that we have had with our kitchen appliances happened within the first year we bought them. I hope this helps others make a informed decision on purchasing LG products.

I built a new vacation home three years ago and bought all LG appliances, which were washer, dryer, fridge, and dishwasher.I’ve had numerous problems. There was water leakage from the washer and extreme problems with the dishwasher. Five repair calls, but there are still problems. The handle on the fridge has come loose and is extremely difficult to tighten. These appliances are absolutely terrible. I would never recommend them.

So far, so good! This is a great combo and both have sanitizing cycles! It also thinks! Does a great job! High efficiency and senses the amount of items in the tub! It doesnt have the agitator and thats just fine! Blankets, quilts, heavy towels go in without issues. As for the dryer, I have a choice on how to open the loading door! Either to the right? Or towards the floor! From the top of the door, down! Ive heard people criticize LG but Ive never been happier with my Washer and Dryer. I love my LGs!!!!

I liked the refrigerator. A lot of people recommended it to me to use because they use the same good brand. It reliable and something you can depend on. It keeps a sense of clean. Kept my food frozen. All my food and drinking items was fresh. Every time I put some in the refrigerator it was wasnt harmed. I love my ice maker and all the good features on it. I could recommend the refrigerator to anybody to try out and use. I bought it at a reasonable price and value. The refrigerator has met my expectations. Kids lunches and all are fresh and well kept for the next day. All of my food is safe and ready to cook each time. The refrigerator has been good and I love it. I would recommend it to family and friends or anybody looking for a good brand.

This is our 2nd LG dryer same model in 40 days. The same problem has occurred with each one. Dry cuts off and will not cut back on. We purchased it from our local Home Depot which have done everything they can to make right what LG has not. LG should be shut down for making lousy products that fail to work. I feel like the Better Business Bureau should be involved and shut down this company from taking innocent consumers money. My husband and I have missed 3 days from work to meet A&E repair company to work on our dryer. If it werent for the manager at Home Depot, we would have no one to talk with since LG doesnt give a rip. Why does Home Depot continue to carry such a horrible product line? PLEASE...PLEASE, Do not buy LG products. They are a rip off and this dryer may cause your home to catch fire.

Several years ago my wife purchased an LG French door refrigerator. Almost immediately we began to hear weird noises from the freezer so we called in a service call. We were told it was ice forming in the back wall of the freezer and it was interfering with the fan blades. The tech told us the only cure was to unplug the refrigerator and let the ice melt. We did this and over the next several years were required to do it a number of times more. The tech told us it was a design flaw and LG would void the warranty if we called it in too often, that is if LG even responded. The ice drawer has no back to it and ice continually falls behind it and onto the bottom of the freezer under the freezer drawer. So that whenever you open the drawer, ice is pulled out onto the floor. Just tonight, my son noticed that there was a burning smell in the fridge and that several food containers were warm. Turns out the lights in the refrigerator are not turning off when the door is closed, so I had to unscrew the bulbs to prevent a fire or food spoilage. At this point I dont even think I will call LG as their service and warranty performance is either awful or nonexistent. Needless to say I will never buy another LG product and will vociferously deter anyone I know from purchasing one. As an aside, I received an LG Blu-ray player as a gift a while back and the first time it was hooked up, it didnt work either. It had to be returned for an exchange and while the second one worked it too has regular problems and has to be unplugged to be rebooted in order to function. I guess LG stands for Lousy Goods or Lotsa Grief.

I bought the double oven stove and unfortunately I did not use the stove until 9 months after the purchase. The stove is awful. It will burn you if you try to even come near the back of the stove top. It is very hard to clean, and that means the entire unit. The knobs are actually paper/tin which cracks and peels after just a little wear. The oven has never baked right. It burns everything on the bottom. Nothing I did corrected any of the problems.I have told everyone I know not to purchase this brand of stove, and will continue to tell the public about this lemon. To produce something so inferior and sell it to the public just shows that this company has no regard for customers and will sell junk. For me it was way too late to send this piece of junk back as by the time I used it warranty had passed. I tried to call this company and was told there was nothing they could do. They did not even try to listen or help me in any way. Its too bad because I work with broadcasting/media and I have prevented many people from making the same mistake, and will continue to do so. PLEASE do not spend your hard earned money. You will be sorry.

I purchased my LG #LTCS20220S in Feb. 2015. From the start I had some difficulty with the temp. settings and still do. However, I noticed when I close the refrigerator door that the freezer door pops open. Initially thought this might be causing fluctuations in the freezer because of all the freezer burn Ive been getting on my foods. (The temp. setting is at the lowest setting). It took me a long time to find the correct refrigerator temp setting so food does not spoil. At the lowest freezer setting I am still getting freezer burn on everything that goes in the freezer, including stuff that I repackage in freezer bags or containers (at the advice of LG service rep). What this means is I cannot buy food at the grocery store, like meat, in its original packaging, and just put it in the freezer. In a week, the freezer burns is starting to show up. Ive never had this before with any refrigerator/freezer I have ever owned and Im 64! I have called LG customer service many times. They have sent 2 different service techs out to my house. Everyone tells me nothing can be done, its the design. LG tells me the service techs have to say UNIT IS UNREPAIRABLE before they can file a claim and help me. Its all about the wording used on the service from so beware of that. IF the service tech leaves your house make sure he marks its Unrepairable or nothing will happen! I am going in circles with LG. I am throwing food out like crazy. I am so fed up with this issue that I want to just put this thing out on the curb with a free sign on it! I am still in limbo on this and waiting for a call back which I may never get. Its just not worth it. Nobody at LG is going to be on your side. They make me feel like its my fault! I cant imagine the President of LG repackaging his food before he puts it in his freezer EVERY SINGLE TIME! Like I am doing! Do yourself a favor and support the small appliance store where the customer counts. This is ridiculous and quite a waste of time and money. If I get good service, Ill re-write this review. But as of today, I am not.

I bought this very expensive refrigerator 3 years and have had nothing but problems. The first issues was the water line for the icemaker was leaking into the door, the entire icemaker and door needed to be replaced. (tons of black mold on the door that was removed). Then last year the compressor broke and needed to be replaced. Now the compressor is broken again and needs to be replaced. The repair guys from LG were here today, but they dont have any parts so I have to wait another week before they will put the part in. I have 80 people coming to my house for a party this weekend and no refrigerator!!!

I chose the LG refrigerator because I had done a lot of research and it was the best one of all. It is large and can hold most of our groceries with no issues. All I wanted it to do was hold groceries and it has more than met that expectation. It has a door that separates and lets you have more storage for more items. The freezer is huge and has a lot of room. I am able to find things I need quickly and easily. It is the best refrigerator I have ever had. Its nice and I am very happy with it. I cannot think of much I would want to improve. Maybe making the ice maker faster is something as it can be very slow and I am impatient. Sometimes it doesnt stay as cold as I would like but it is very easy to fix.

Purchased an LG fridge model LFX29945ST from our local Home Depot. Weve had this fridge for almost 2 yrs now but we have had a number of issues after the first year of owning this POS. First issue is the annoying high pitch noise that comes from the compressor at times. Called Tech support and was told that our Fridge was not leveled and was most likely the cause of the issue. Our fridge is perfectly leveled and our house is only 2 yrs old with a perfectly leveled floor. Second issue is the lower freezer door will not close all the way at times due to ice building up on the tracks for the Freezer Door not allowing the door to seal the Freezer completely. I occasionally have to chip the ice away so the freezer door will close all the way so our food does not thaw out in the freezer. The last and final issue that weve had with this fridge, is at the bottom of the control panel next to the water and ice dispenser one day just started discoloring and peeling and now our fridge looks worse than our previous fridge that was 6 yrs old. I expected better quality for the price and wish I never bought this Fridge at all. DO NOT BUY!!

We purchased the Lg fridge model # LSC26905TT Serial # 706MRBW15621 in Marc
We purchased the Lg fridge model # LSC26905TT Serial # 706MRBW15621 in March 2008 from Best Buy. In August 2013 we discovered that at some point the hose in the back of the fridge feeding water into the ice maker and water dispenser had been leaking. Our basement as well as items in our basement were soaked and some things were ruined as well as the floor under the fridge and the surrounding cabinets. I made several attempts to contact the company directly via e-mail, which was the only information I could seem to find, when we discovered that the hose wasnt just leaking but it had burst for no apparent reason. I got no response at the time and gave up, calling Best Buy Geek Squad to make the repairs, being told by the repair person that it was rather unusual that the hose had burst and seemed to be a defect in the materials. In the following year I had noticed a sticky substance oozing from around the front of the freezer causing extensive damage to the seal around the freezer. The edges around the front of the freezer become extremely hot. There was a very loud squealing coming from something off and on and most recently I heard a sound of dripping water and discovered upon removing the back of the unit that water was dripping from an unidentified area and pooling at the bottom. We cleaned this up and I called Best Buy Geek Squad to look at it for possible repairs. When explaining all of the issues they told us to call Lg directly and provided a customer service number and I was able to reach someone directly this time. On October 1st a repair man by the name of Maximo came to the house and said that he had never seen the problems we were having. He took pictures and live streamed them to the home office, telling us to call in 3 business days to check on the repair status. He also said that he had noticed singe marks near/around some of the coils and to stop using the fridge as it was a fire hazard. When I called (the next day, not 3 business days later) I was told they could not tell me what they are thinking of doing but they definitely could not make any repairs to the fridge. I was told they would decide to either replace the fridge or give us some sort of a refund check. I explained I have a toddler in the house and not having a fridge for an undetermined amount of time is difficult and the woman by the name of Angelica told me she would make a note to expedite the decision. Oct 6th was the third business day and I was still not told what they intended to do just that I needed to provide a receipt of purchase. Again I explained I have a small child and need to provide items such as milk for her and would like to know how long it would be and I was told only when we provide the receipt could they proceed with their decision. One day later, Oct 7th I was finally told by a woman named Barbara that when they receive the receipt they would determine a prorated refund to provide. She was very rude hanging up on me but not before speaking to me as though I was a child, when in fact I am an upset dissatisfied customer with a defective fridge that I thought just needed a bit of repairs and now I am being told they cannot fix it because they dont even know what is wrong with it yet we are responsible for purchasing a new fridge out of pocket. I did also speak with her supervisor by the name of Michael. He was very kind but not very helpful, again telling me it would be a prorated refund of most likely only about $200. This was a $1500 fridge that is only 6 years old that is broken due to manufacturer defect and I find that to be an unacceptable solution, especially considering the fridge was a fire hazard and could have set my house on fire at any time of the day or night putting my entire family at risk including my daughter who is not yet 2 years of age, and this is all due to manufacturer defect, not something the customer has done yet the customer is the one made to deal with all the consequences. I dont know of any other brand fridge that breaks after only 6 years of use and the company obviously doesnt stand behind their products seeing as they are not willing or able to fix the problem, and in researching Lg further I see there are hundreds of similar complaints against the quality of their products as well as their poor customer service. This consumer will never purchase Lg again.

My 2.5 year old LG refrigerator Model LFX 25978ST/00 stopped working--first ice machine failed, then freezer and then finally entire fridge--lost all my food. Called an appliance repair and they tried replacing a $150 motherboard they tested and determined had failed. That did not fix the problem. Conclusion was the compressor was also failed. LG guarantees its compressor for 10 years, BUT, only deals with certain repair centers, so I was already out $200 and needed to call one of only two LG-affiliated centers in my area. One quoted me 2300 for labor and said the repairs rarely last and I should just buy a new fridge. Another quoted me 300 for labor, but demanded an advance before scheduling the repair and said that ordering the part and scheduling could take up to 2-3 weeks. What is obvious, having read MANY similar accounts, is there needs to be a class action lawsuit against LG. Furthermore, there needs to be much more attention to quality control, parts have to be made to last longer and all of us are going to have to pay more for our appliances and/or those profiting at the upper echelons of these companies are going to have to share the spoils with their workers to fabricate better products. My GE fridge bought in 1980, lasted 30 years. Should have had it repaired and paid the price for higher electricity vs tossing three refrigerators in a landfill that are energy efficient but, doing nothing other than cluttering the earth.

I have a top of the line LG refrigerator french doors. Its warranty ran out in November and in January my ice maker broke. 5 months later, 9 parts later and umpteen phone calls, no resolve. I have never experienced such poor service on an appliance as I have this. The service man has been out 5 times. Nice man but speaks very little English - so not sure what he is saying. I am so disgusted with LG. I am putting refrig on Craigslist - best offer and going to go buy a real refrig that offers good service. There are so many choices out there. Do yourself a favor read the many complaints about LG refrigerators and buy yourself another brand. I will never buy anything from LG again.

We bought an LG French door refrigerator in late 2017 and it worked without too many major issues, until October of 2020. In October, it suddenly stopped cooling. We called LG to have repairs made under the 3 year warranty. After many delays, they found a repair company in our area to come out to do the repair. They said it was the compressor, ordered a new one and replaced it. The refrigerator still doesnt work. We have been without a refrigerator now for over two months (for a four person household). I have called LG nearly every day, for the past 6 weeks. I have been elevated to the Executive Service response team. What a joke. I receive a different answer every time I call. After about a month of trying to find an authorized repair person to look at the refrigerator again, LG finally agreed to simply submit a claim for Alternate resolution; i.e. replacing the refrigerator. The claim has been submitted now at least 4 times; there is still no decision on whether or not they will honor our warranty. Every time I call (nearly every day now) I am provided with another excuse as to why there is no decision. This has been the worst consumer experience of my life.

Our LG range was emitting dangerous levels of carbon monoxide. After two weeks and first paying a $200 flat fee, an LG approved technician finally came and replaced some parts and fixed it. He said it likely a manufacturers defect but he cant say 100% which means that LG keeps their fee. In the meantime, Ive written two letters to LG (where it says they will reply within 24 hours) and gotten no response, spoken with two customer service managers who show no concern for the fact their appliance put my family in danger, and spent way too much time on hold on the telephone and online chat with very little to show for it. Their lack of customer service is appalling.

I paid $2899 for my top of the line refrigerator. The linear compressor failed at 3yrs and we lost all of our food. The front electronic panel has been replace 2x and worked for a short time. The problem is the the ice dispenser turns itself on and it dumps all the ice on my kitchen floor. I have to lock the panel and not use any of the features that I bought the fridge for. If I go anywhere, I need to remove the ice bin as if the power goes off, the fridge will reset the panel and all the ice will dump and melt on my laminate floor. The LG customer service is non existent. Next time, I will buy a different brand as I am disgusted after owning for 3 yrs.

Unresolved repair after waiting over 2 months on a new refrigerator. We contacted LG over a month ago because the ice maker on our NEW refrigerator quit working. They contacted a local tech who has changed out the ice maker 3 times and a control board at least once and still NO ICE. After a few weeks, I contacted the tech to find out what we were going to do about getting this issue resolved. I was told that he was waiting for LG to give him a direction to go. I waited another week then called back only to get a voice message telling me to contact the manufacturer. I contacted LG customer service and was told that their notes stated that the issue was resolved!!! I told them that the issue was never resolved and they told me that there was nothing they could do until the local tech updated his notes. I placed another request for an update on the LG customer service site and received a return email stating that they would contact the local repair rep and get back to me. Its been a week and still no response! I tried online chat... no response! At the time of this review, it is now almost 4 months later and still no response from LG!!!

We purchased a counter-depth LG French Door unit from Lowes about 5 years ago with a 3-year service agreement. Because LG doesnt make as many counter depth compared to standard depth, it cost more (~$3000). Cosmetically and storage-wise, we were quite happy with it, but early in the first year we noticed that ice was building up behind the left bottom storage drawer. Lowes repairman replaced the entire rear fan/control unit, explaining that if we didnt have the service contract it would have cost us about $500.Unfortunately 2-more service calls by 2 different organizations were required in the first 3-years --- all for the same ice problem! We then purchased a 1-year extension for the service agreement because it was obvious that our $3000 fridge had a problem no one seemed to be able to fix. We were correct, because we had more ice in that year.Numerous calls and emails to LG and Lowes during these 5-years got us little more than asking for more and more details about previous repairs. They also referred us to someone to repair it. They all tried, replacing more pieces and parts. Finally, a few months ago when ice again recurred we spent $90 for another LG expert to review our issue. They told us LG had issued some sort of bulletin about this problem, and for another $500 for the part, plus labor, they could fix it. At this point we had already spent at least $750 and dozens of hours trying to fix a $3000 fridge and had no confidence anyone could repair it properly, so this afternoon our new Frigidaire will be installed and the LG hauled away; and Im writing this review. Buyer beware! Rust develops in the top housing of LG washers, starting at the bleach dispenser. It does not matter if you use the dispenser or not, rust will eventually develop there, and elsewhere, on the top and lid of the machine. Eventually rust flakes will get in your wash leaving whites dingy. There is no fix for this problem. It is a result of poor craftsmanship. A class action lawsuit was filed and LG won claiming user problem. Odd how the regular use of their product would be a problem that causes rust. Do not take my word for it alone- search “LG washer rust” and read about loads of frustrated consumers with rust problems starting in the bleach dispenser area, in some cases rusting out altogether. Buyer beware!

We have had at least 9 almost fires or burns of people. We have the set which included the microwave that mounts over it. We look ridiculous trying to use the microwave without accidentally touching the stove. The knobs turn easily without needing to be pushed in. He did not check to see if the compressor was working. We wait 12 to 24 hours as he said not working. The compressor is not working. Back to LG We go. They say compressor is covered. They will get back to us on someone coming. They just call today and say they cant find anyone to come and fix it. Now the kicker is We have had no refrigerator since December 10th 2021. After all the hoops LG cant find anyone to fix their product. We live outside Little Rock AR. I have found this whole situation horrible with the way this was handled. I will never recommend a LG product to anyone. Yes there may be fine stuff out there but what if it breaks then you will find out how they stand behind their products. We purchased the top loading LG washer a year ago and it worked well for about 6 months. Then it started showing UE code and stopping due to a supposed unbalanced load. Shifting the clothes around and restarting it several times is about the only way we have now to complete a cycle. It takes incredibly long now to run a load. This now occurs no matter what the load size is. This appears to be a design flaw in this machine with bad load sensor, I think. All we can say is, DO NOT BUY An LG! No one seems to know how to fix this, UGH!

LG HE Top Loader is the worst purchase I have ever made! I have read the reviews here and thank goodness, this washer has never caused any damage to our home. But it is literally IMPOSSIBLE to do laundry with this thing. We purchased this in February 2015 and while I cant find the model number right now, it is a top loader, 4.9 cu. ft. bought at Lowes. From the moment we bought it, we quickly discovered it is insanely touchy about keeping in balance - the first couple of months, almost every load I did got off balance and caused the machine to make horrible noises, bumping and jumping around until I got the OB error and it would just stop. After talking with numerous people, I learned it is best to fill the washer completely with clothes and this eliminates the problem most of the time. Well, I dont know about you but in a 2 person household, it is almost impossible to completely fill this machine, every time I use it. For instance, I am trying to wash a load of towels right now - every bath towel that we own, exactly according to the machine instructions and it keeps getting off balance because the towels are too heavy from water and bang around in the machine. I NEVER had to even think about this with my standard machine and now it feels like every time I do laundry, its practically a physics lesson to think about the proper mix of clothes to get the right weight to finish a cycle. It should NOT be this difficult and you cant tell me LG doesnt know this. I dont know if any other brands have this issue but for the amount of money we spent, these clothes should practically wash themselves. Sometimes, advanced technology is NOT better, only more chances for things to go wrong.

I purchased LG washing machine model #WT5101HW on 6-26-2011. In December, I realized that the hot/cold cycle was not hot. The water was really not even warm. I called LG and after speaking to numerous people, they agreed to send a tech out. On December 20, 2011, the tech arrived only to inform me that it was an ongoing problem and there was nothing he could do. It was the way LG designed the machine. On the hot cycle, it adds both hot and cold water so that is why it is not hot. I was furious! I called LG and they informed me that if I wanted to wash my clothes in hot water to use the sanitary cycle which is a 3 hour cycle or the bright whites cycle. My washing machine has an internal heater that is supposed to heat the water to 122 degrees on bright whites and 158 on sanitary. On my bright whites, it is only 90 degrees and not sure what it is on sanitary. LG is advertising that they have a hot cycle when in fact it is not hot and it makes no sense to add cold water to perfectly good hot water and then heat it back up! How is this energy efficient? I called LG again today and now I am being informed that the heater only works on sanitary and if I want hotter water on my cycles, I need to turn up my hot water heater. On page 7 on the instruction manual, it clearly says, the heater increases water temperature and provides better cleaning for sanitary and bright whites.” So, even LG is admitting hotter water cleans better! This machine is a complete joke. LG should not be able to advertise that this machine has a hot cycle when it fact it does not.

LG Lifes Good? LG - Laundrys Grubby - Just like everyone else, I am incredibly frustrated with my top-loading LG WT4801CW clothes washer (purchased from Home Depot). I spend more time and money redoing many loads of clothes because they just do not get clean and sometimes a streak of dirt is left on the clothes, so back to rewashing the same small load of clothes again and again. (There goes the water economy function of the washer down the drain). And my washer is also starting to smell (great). I have had a horrible experience with LG and will never buy another LG product. About 8 months ago I bought as beautiful electric range with the purple/blue oven that self cleans at a low temperature. The stove is still working great but I noticed that the enamel in the oven is just flaking off and where the racks are the enamel failed and popped off.I called LG since the oven is still under warranty and was told that this defect is cosmetic and that I would have to pay for parts and labor to have it repaired. Enamel serves a function in an oven, it protects the metal from oxidizing and protects the oven from heat and food that would be absorbed without enamel. I explained to the agent that this is a functional defect and not cosmetic and got nowhere with LG. They just dont care about their customers at all. I am a manager for a call center and could not believe the response I received on this issue and the attitude of the agent. I was fuming after this experience and wrote an e-mail to corporate explaining what happened and explained that if I do not receive a reply within a reasonable amount of time I will escalate or take action in another manner.I never did get a response so I spoke with the manager of Home Depot and showed them pictures and explained the bad experience that I had. This the manager picked up the phone and called LG and Explained the issue and added that the popping porcelain is also a health issue and being a convection oven is getting blown around. She got the same crap from them that I did. Other employees came over to see what was going on as this manager was fuming and stating that they have never ever seen a situation like this before. The manager then said that we will take care of you and get you a new stove and again stated that this was ridiculous. The manager was still angry over the situation and told me that she is making some calls to pull other managers together Monday for a conference call to LG Dealer support and said that she is going the climb the corporate ladder on this one.I see a ton of lawsuits against LG and a huge number of complaints, it seems that they do not care or respond to their customers and end up in a lawsuit. I was contemplating on a lawsuit but came up with a better idea. I am going to work closely with Home Depot management and get data on whatever they need and work to have Depot drop all LG product lines. I think I have Home Depots attention on this and just have to follow the process. I have always had positive experiences with Home Depot and I dont want to see any more of their customers go through this experience and lack of accountability on LGs part. If everything is successful and LG products are pulled from Home Depot this will be a huge revenue loss for LG which is well deserved. This will hold them accountable for their actions and is far easier than a lawsuit and there is a ton of data on poor customer service and product support.

Purchased in 2015 to replace a 10+ year old GE. Worst mistake we ever made was to spend $2700 on an LG 3 French Door model number: LFXS30766S /02. I am going to spare you the long version. After 18 mos the water dispenser stopped working and we were told it was not repairable. We kept using the ice maker but it began to lock up due to ice build up with every filling. We battled that for six months and decided to just turn the water off to the unit. I bought an LG Fridge Model LSC 24971ST in October 2012. It stopped working June 2017. I made many phone calls to Customer Care (or No Care) Centre on Telephone 1-888-542-2623 continuously for five weeks but nothing was done. Finally LG got back to me and told me whatever the problem is, they will have it fixed for a flat rate of $229. I paid them $229, hoping that the problem will be solved now. Few days later an LG worker came to check the fridge, only to tell me that the fridge cannot be fixed. I would have to buy another $4000 fridge from LG. It was hard for me to believe this fridge cannot be fixed, so I called somebody else to have the fridge checked, which is when I found out that the compressor has stopped working and just needs to be replaced.LG was trying to CHEAT me and make me buy another fridge from them. They wouldnt even return the $229 flat rate that I paid them to have the fridge fixed. After arguing with them for weeks, they finally agreed that they will have the compressor replaced at the FLAT RATE of $229 but the part is NOT available for the time being. If such a BIG company like LG fails to find its own part, why I must suffer...? Weeks passed and they could not even find their own part. Bottom line is, LG COMPANY TRIES TO CHEAT YOU. The fridge could easily be fixed by replacing the compressor (which was still under warranty), but LG wanted to CHEAT me into just buying another $4000 fridge from them. They gave me a very hard to time; for months I kept arguing with them. Never buying an LG product ever again!

Updated on 07/06/2020: This is my second review about this situation because I am locked out of responding privately to the company representative because they never responded to my last question. I have been trying since June 10 to get LG to honor the warranty on our refrigerator which stopped working on that day. First, I tried to get a letter in email for my repair person allowing him to order the parts which are still under warranty. When the letter finally came two weeks later, it had the wrong address. At that time, the representative who contacted me after my first review had already said they would rather offer an amount than deal with repairs. Still, I gave him the correct address and waited. Neither the correct letter nor an offer had come a week later, so I called the warranty department as he recommended. The lady there did make an agreeable offer and said the process would begin when we got an email about the offer. She said the email should come soon and that all steps had to be completed before we would get the payment to replace our refrigerator.A week later, we have received no email so Im assuming the 5-6 week process she mentioned will not start until we get that email and who knows when we will get it. I have just spent 1:22:00 hours on hold this morning waiting to speak to someone about this. Bottom line: Do not buy an LG refrigerator if you dont want to live out of an ice chest for more than a month waiting on them to honor a warranty.Original Review: After five calls to LG where customer service representatives have told me repeatedly that an email authorization will be sent within an hour, by 5pm, in 24 hours, it has been a week and still no authorization letter has been emailed to my repair service.

We have had our LG fridge for 3 1/2 years. We noticed that the refrigerator and freezer were not cooling and the ice makers were not working. We called LG. We have had three repairmen come out. The first one said the fridge could not be repaired and tried to get it condemned by LG. No luck there. The second repairman would not work on it and a week later the same repairman came and said LG insists that it be repaired. We are going on a month without a refrigerator. It needs a new compressor, evaporator, etc. etc. etc. LG technical support does not listen to the repairman even when he sends pictures of corrosion and black oily guck. Now a repair is scheduled for next week. We are so disappointed in LG, their product, and their customer service. They are supposed to send $150 for spoiled food but we haven’t seen the check. We are in our seventies and going up and down the basement stairs to the old 30 year old Gibson that is still working is hard on us. I loved this fridge for three years but refrigerators are too expensive to replace after only three years. 3 compressors in 6 years. When I first purchased my LG Refrigerator I was thrilled. It was the largest model on the market at the time and I needed that. I loved the organization inside as well. We purchased in June of 2013. Unfortunately, this is where the story goes bad. In Feb. of 2016 we had to have the compressor replaced. It was under warranty but we still had to pay 558.59 for labor. Not even two years later in Oct. of 2018 we again had to have the compressor replaced. We paid 690.00 for labor. AND one short year later, we were again faced with a repair bill for 790.00 to fix a leak in the cooling system and they were going to give us a new compressor AGAIN.When the repairman came to fix the leak, he discovered that the leak was higher up in the refrigerator cabinet and could not be fixed. I am now faced with having to purchase a NEW refrigerator after just 6 years! WHAT??? The expected life of an LG refrigerator is 10-14 years, mine barely made it to half of that and has had to have the compressor replaced twice. RIDICULOUS!!!! I have been inconvenienced 3 times by this shoddy appliance. We paid over $2,000.00 for this refrigerator and then over 1100.00 in repairs! IF we could have actually repaired it THIS time, I would have paid out 2000.00 in repairs! I have a Kitchen Aid refrigerator in my basement that is 20 years old and still going strong, never had a service call on it! I will NEVER buy another LG product. I also have an LG washer and dryer that have both had to have repairs! Life Good is their motto - not in our case - Life has been complicated and expensive because of products that do not stand up to the life expectancy of their products!

Stainless refrigerator has permanent horizontal streaks after 6 weeks of us
Stainless refrigerator has permanent horizontal streaks after 6 weeks of use. No children, no visitors just 2 of us. Cannot after multiple calls receive any help. No one will even come assess issue. Their advice... purchase new doors and pay for service call as well. We will never purchase another appliance from a big box store, in this case it was Best Buy. No we did not purchase the extra coverage and we do not feel we should have.

I purchased an LG Refrigerator the end of January which was delivered the 1st week of February. Three weeks later I was dealing with LG Customer Service as the compressor had twice made a terrible grinding noise. After several calls they escalated the issue for an exchange but stated it would take 5 days & to call back then which I did. When contacted after the 5 day period they again gave the exact same directive. I was grateful Best Buy agreed to change it which they did the 1st week in April and advised if I had the extended warranty with Geek Squad they would have taken care of it right away so I bought it on the replacement. The split door on the replacement refrigerator would not close properly & the alarm for that door did not function. Contacted Geek Squad who wrote upon order for repair but the order would not allow it to be scheduled for repair as there are NO SERVICE REPS in this area. How can anyone sell products that have a manufacturer AND an extended warranty when there is NO AVAILABLE SERVICE??? Best Buy sent 3 people from the local store & they offered to replace again but they only allow one (1) replacement on an extended warranty so if there would be anything wrong with the 3rd one I would be out of luck. So today I will go to Best Buy and hopefully get a full refund and go to a local appliance dealer (who services direct) to get a different brand that will cost more. We all loved the design of the LG but I no longer trust LG or Best Buy.

This item had good ratings and suggestions directly to me from store associates and consumer ratings. Online there were very electorate reviews from multiple retailers and review websites about how this refrigerator, in general, was the best one that many of the spoken consumers had every previously owned. I like the water filter, cooling levels, storage space, stainless steal, and ice machine. Additionally, it has a wide breadth, lots of shelves, easy to clean interior and exterior, and good lighting inside the machine. Sound levels, height, and some leakage at the bottom occasionally. Otherwise, there is nothing else I notably dislike. I would improve the quickness of the ice making process for the ice maker machine, and I would also improve the noise levels for lower levels or whirring and shaking noises.

I bought a new LG WT7900 Washer (their top-of-the-line top-load machine) in May 2020 (3 months ago). The direct-drive motor now makes a very loud grinding noise (even though the motor has a 10-yr warranty). Ive since learned that this is a common issue thats been going on for nearly a year. I called the LG 800# found in the Owners Manual. They scheduled a repair appointment with their third-party repair service (A&E Factory Service, which also goes by the name Sears Appliance Repair... really????). I took the first-available a.m. appointment, thinking thatd increase my chances of them actually showing up.My Service appointment was scheduled for 7am-11am today (Aug 8, 2020). You guessed it... NO ONE showed up, or even bothered to contact me (other than a confirmation text I got yesterday). So I called their 800#, and was on hold an HOUR before getting a live person (guessing lots of people are having similar experiences since their phone lines are so busy??). When I finally get someone, he says he needs to put me on hold while he investigates the issue. But after being on hold another 10 minutes, the line disconnected. So now I have a brand new LG Washing Machine that doesnt work, and LG is taking no responsibility to fix it or replace it.

DLG2302R - We purchased an LG washer and dryer about 4 years ago. After 6 months, the dryer button would not work (to start the dryer). It was still under warranty and a technician came out. He wasnt sure what was wrong, but he tried replacing a part he thought might be the problem. It worked for a while longer after that, then it would turn on sometimes but not other times. We called again. Now it was out of warranty, and we could not afford to replace the front panel to fix it (we already spent $2,000 to purchase the pair). Then the dial quit working (still doesnt work). As a result, we have had to manually program the time/heat setting with other buttons on the panel. We never know if the dryer will work when we need something to be dried. Like today 4 years later.

At less than 2 year of age my LG top-load washer malfunctioned and flooded my house. According to the washer repairman their assembly was such that the washer pressure sensor hose was wrapped around an arm and the vibration caused it to come loose, resulting in the washers inability to sense the water level - so it just kept filling. Not only did LG not stand behind my nearly new washer, this machine is pure junk. I know to watch and check that hose frequently although I can say its never had another issue with the assembly correction. Problem is it just doesnt clean. The water level varies such between loads that I always stand there to make sure enough water flows in to actual get all the items wet. I realize one of the so-called features is less water usage....but seriously if they dont get wet, its hard to clean. I noticed my whites and bright colors look dingy after a few washes, so I started watch closely - this is how I discovered the water issue. I now wash my clothes 2-3 times to get them clean enough...thats sad. I HATE this LG and will never purchase another of their products.

We have a two year old LG fridge, model number LFX33975ST that stopped cooling completely three weeks ago. We contacted LG customer service and they gave us three companies that were LG certified repair centers. We made an appointment (had a horrible time with them) and after three weeks they told us the fridge needed to be replaced and they would work with LG warranties to get that done. LG warranties will not work with them and have forced us to use another service tech. We have the live chats from LG customer service proving set appointment times. Of which nobody showed. We have proof from the service company LG told us to use that our two year old fridge should be replaced and LG wont work with the service company they told us to use. LG says they will not replace our fridge, only the parts even though their service tech said the fridge should be replaced and that the seal system should not go bad in a 2-year old refrigerator. They also said that if LG says they will fix it to let them know this is the type of warranty problem that will go bad every year and we will have to replace the seal system every year. LG still refuses to replace - the manager at LG customer service told us they will never replace only repair. HORRIBLE!

Our LG fridge is about 5 years old and it has died. I can understand that things can go wrong but the customer service at LG is terrible. They are extremely rude! We have had to take two days off work and it still isnt fixed. We were told the freon leaked out and the company had to address this problem. We spoke to several people at customer service and they were nasty. We have been without a fridge for two weeks and there is no end in sight. We are starting from scratch and have to be home between 10-2 tomorrow for a second service person to come out. They arent going to fix it! Just look at it! So we will likely have to take a third day off work if we are lucky enough to get anyone out to actually fix it. My husband was just recently diagnosed with cancer. The tumor is causing lots of pain. Ice packs help a bit but of course we have no way to keep them cold. This has been a real hardship! I would never buy another LG product. They have no respect for their customers and do not stand behind their products.

Updated on 06/24/2021: A lot has happened behind the scenes since I made the first post. LG stepped in and offered to set the situation right, so I gave them the opportunity to do so. As you will read here, not only did they fail to make things right, they ended up making it worse. I warn you now, it is not a short read. March 30-Must have gotten someone’s attention. An unidentified person (this is a trend) PMed me via Consumer Affairs (CA) and offered to address the situation. They asked for some info, including billing address for the original purchase. I gave info and waited.April 2- Offer to repair machine at their expense is forwarded to me through CA by an unidentified person. I agree to offer. Sometime after this point, LG orders 2 replacement parts, a new main control board and a display board. I am not sure why the control board was ordered, as it was obvious the display board was the problem. The display board is the problem on every one of these machines.April 6-I get a notification by text from a random number (never identified) informing me that I recently scheduled service for my machine to be performed on April 8. Only problem is, I didn’t schedule service. Someone from LG (never identified) took it upon themselves to schedule this service without consulting me as to whether this was an acceptable time. The text number this was sent from could not receive return calls or texts, and no contact information was available to reach out about this scheduled appointment. After some digging around on the LG site, I figured out that the service was indeed scheduled, and also found out at this time that the above-mentioned parts had been ordered (one part was on backorder) and shipped to the billing address I originally gave on CA. Only problem with this is that the machine is not at the billing address, therefore both the parts and the service tech were heading to the wrong address. If someone had contacted me when the appointment was made, I could have given the correct address. If some useable contact information was made available to me, or if anyone in this process so far had identified themselves, I could have shared the situation with the incorrect address. But none of those things had happened. I share this latest update with the unidentified PM contact on CA.April 7- A box arrives from LG. I open it to find a new control board. Not the display (the part that is actually broken) but the other random part. Turns out that the display board is on national backorder. Not surprising since the OEM display boards have a 100% failure rate. With every single unit of this model needing this part replaced, demand is clearly high.April 8-Tech Visit #1. The service technician calls me to tell me he is 10 minutes away. I then tell him that he is 10 minutes away from the wrong address. He finally gets to the machine (I was able to be there), swaps out the mainboard, figures out mainboard is not the problem. I knew this already. So did the tech before even doing the job. Once he determined the main board was not the problem, he swapped the original board back into the machine and left, planning to return when the display board arrived. Since the mainboard did not appear bad, he returned the new mainboard to LG. This would prove to be a regretful decision.April 13- New display board arrives. I contact service tech and he schedules the next day to come install it. April 14-Tech shows up for Visit #2 (the fact I am giving numerical designations to tech visits should tell you something) and installs display board. I am not at the house this time, or much of the remaining catastrophe would likely have been avoided. According to my wife, he swapped out the board, hit the power button to see it power up, packed up his stuff and left. He did no function check or system diagnosis whatsoever, just looked for the lights to power up. He also went into the LG service system and reported the repair job complete. It was not, and the fact that he did report it as such would create problems down the road. After tech leaves, wife loads machine and tries to run it. After about a minute, it shut down and gave an error code indicating no water flow. I get home and check water supply to make sure that we didn’t have that turned off. I will also mention at this time that I have degrees in both electronic and mechanical engineering, and have been working as a design engineer and troubleshooting technician for electro-mechanical systems over 30 years. So I was able to deduce that we had sufficient water flow, but the electric water valve in the machine was not turning on. I contacted the tech, and he informed me he would come by the next day and check it out.April 15- Tech comes back for Visit #3. During this visit I learned the tech was a refrigeration expert, and had limited experience with dishwashers. He was competent, just not that experienced with LG dishwashers. He figures out that he had plugged something together incorrectly. I am not clear whether this mistake was made during Visit #1 and the incorrect connection was made at the mainboard, or during Visit #2 and the incorrect connection was made at the display board. I suspect it was #1 and the problem was at the mainboard because one of the connectors he attached incorrectly was to the main water valve, thus the valve did not work, as I had identified. Wherever the problem, he swapped the connectors around, ran a diagnostic, declared it good, and left again. When we powered up the machine I could hear the water valve now working, but after about a minute, the same error code and shutdown occurred.April 15 Part 2-The tech comes back that night for Visit #4 (told you we needed numbering). I am there, and we spend quite a bit of time checking out the machine. I teach him a few things about how the systems operate, and using some of my electronic testing equipment we figure out that the system is not seeing a signal from the water flow sensor. Hoping sensor might be bad, the tech ordered a replacement sensor.April 20-Tech got part, and stops by for Visit #5. Flow sensor not the problem. He spends over 2 hours of troubleshooting, including 2 calls to the service center for technical support. They go through everything, including checking the wiring harness. Nothing bad with wiring, but the mainboard is not supplying power to the sensor. It was never admitted to me, but I will bet a month’s pay that when he incorrectly connected the plugs in Visit #1 or #2, the sensor power supply on the mainboard was damaged. If he had not already sent back the new mainboard (remember I said this would be a regretful decision?) he could have swapped in the new board and likely fixed the problem. But he didn’t have the parts, and he was eventually told by the Service Center to stop attempting repair and RMA the machine.April 21- An unidentified person contacted me by text to inform me that the Alternate Resolution claim was started. But I should be prepared for it to be denied because the computer system says that all parts are functional. Remember the tech incorrectly reporting the machine repaired after Visit #2? An explanation by myself containing actual factual information and logic did nothing to change the response.April 23- I receive a phone call from LG asking about how I rated the service I had received in early April. Because the tech had reported he completed the repair, the gentleman calling me had no idea the job was botched, and he wanted to know how I rated my service experience on my freshly-repaired and perfectly-operating LG dishwasher. I don’t think he was very fond of my answers.May 1- Received voice mail from someone at LG telling me I was to be offered a bit over $500 for my permanently broken $1k machine. It further instructed me to contact Shakiah M about payout. May 5-When I talk to Shakiah, I’m told the actual number offered is even less. After several back and forth discussions on both text message and email, I agree to accept the offer, as long as there is no legally-binding contract included. I am assured there is not.Side note: It’s bad enough that almost no one from LG ever identifies themselves, but I am even more amazed by the amount of correspondence throughout this process done by text message on a cell phone. Is this what we call professional corporate behavior in 2021? Text messages? What are we, high-schoolers? May 28- Finally get a written offer. And that assurance there is no legally-binding component to the offer? Not true. I must waive off all rights to pursue further action if I accept this offer.Let’s recap: I started this process with a top-shelf machine with a single defective part. A $200 replacement part and 15 minutes of effort to install this part would have fixed my machine. But thanks to the mistake made by the service tech, I now have a junk machine. And what is the offer from LG after three months of hassle to fix all of this? Half what it will cost to replace it. Now I have a choice. LG is so in breach of contract here (not the warranty, BTW) that I will almost assuredly win in court. But small claims court is a hassle. I have tried to give LG the opportunity to make this right, and they continue to fail me, and will no longer even respond to me.30 day deadline to accept offer is June 27, three days from now. If LG really wants to make this right, then they need to do something better than half replacement cost for a machine THEY BROKE. If not, looks like I will see them in court. And I won’t be suing for just the cost of the machine. Punitive damages will be added on as well, and I have high confidence in my case and my ability to present it. I have been an expert witness in court proceedings several times, so court does not faze me. I don’t want the hassle of it, but I won’t be treated as a pushover either. This is LG’s mistake, LG needs to fix it with a reasonable offer.Original Review: We bought an LG LDP6797BD dishwasher in 2018, with the intentions of putting it in our house being remodeled. We used it in our rental home for about 8-10 months before removing it from service and putting it in storage. It never got installed in the house, so after sitting for 2 years, we pulled it out of storage and put it in another rental property where it has worked flawlessly for 5 months. Now after a total service life of 13-15 months, we walk in the kitchen one day to find it dead. Wont power up, wont light up, wont reset. Looking at a few videos, I picked up a line filter. Not the problem. In fact, once I had it apart to change the line filter, I could see the red LED lighting on the board. So clearly it has power. Then after some more research, I find the web full of similar complaints. The number of purchasers with failures occurring, conveniently almost immediately after the end of their one-year warranty, is simply staggering. The Amazon listing for this dishwasher has 100% 1-Star ratings. Let that sink in. 100% 1-star ratings, I have never seen that on ANYTHING in my life. And especially not on an item that costs $1000. This design clearly has a significant design flaw somewhere. The number of instances of identical failure occurring within a span of 12-16 months of service life is not a coincidence, and this statement is coming from a highly-experienced engineer with 3 decades of experience in design and manufacture of electro-mechanical systems. I know better than to believe that any manufacturer can take products to market and NEVER make a mistake in the design cycle. But what that manufacturer chooses to do about it when mistakes happen is what defines a company. This machine has a major design flaw, LG knows it, and apparently has chosen to do nothing about it. And I guess they have a right to not do anything about it. Well, I have a right to do something about it as well. If LG continues to leave customers like myself that spent quite a bit of money on a clearly defective product, then it will be the last of my money LG will ever see. And I will go out of my way, every chance I get, to encourage as many people as possible to also not ever spend THEIR money on an LG product. This is site number 2 for the day, I wonder how many more times I can tell this story before the weekend is over?If LG believes that not addressing this issue will save them money, I can assure you it will not. They will lose far more money from me alone than what it would cost them to make this right with me. Add to that lost revenue the amount of money they will lose with all the people I convince to not ever buy LG as well, and this will quickly become an expensive mistake many, many times over what it would take to fix it. If everyone else being screwed does the same, we can make a statement that LG simply will not be able to ignore. LG, the ball is in your court.

Just under two years, both refrigerator & freezer stopped cooling. Thankfully we bought the extended warranty. It will be around 2 weeks before this fridge will be running again. Techs need to come out a diagnosis issue before bringing parts. Waiting a week for someone to even come look at this is crazy. Reading on the internet this is a very common issue with LG fridges. Compressors failing after 2 years. I really regret buying this fridge when we renoed the kitchen. My old one is in the garage with zero issues after 12 years.

After spending almost $2000.00 for this unit it developed a sealed system leak. The refrigerator is 3 years old. The service man said we could spend $300 to $500 to have it recharged but it might only last 2 weeks because the leak is in the sealed system. LG would not help pay for the repair service since it was a sealed system leak. Beware, LG only covers parts not poor workmanship.

I have an LG front load fairly new machine and I absolutely hate it. I loved the fact its suppose to save money as it is and helps the environment. I have had the machine 5 years now. The only thing I like is the lights during the washing procedure. I was looking for efficiency but there is nothing efficient about a heavy soiled load of clothes taking over an hour to wash. The machine does not let you soak or pre soak clothes. With muddy clothing, sometimes things need to soak. The machine smells like mildew or mold all the time. The rubber seal is disgusting to look at and clean. Not sure who came up with this brilliant machine but I think its awful. There is barely any water on the clothing when washing. I dont like it at all and with it being 2,000 I feel like I got ripped off. My dryer is a Samsung steam or dry dryer. Never lost an article of clothing in it. The dryer works great. So far no issues. The machine takes forever to wash. The clothes dry quick because they barely get wet. But they do spin fast. I hate the fact there is still pet hair on my uniform pants and some types of fabrics which really makes me mad. Also I cannot soak soiled clothes. The machine drains out any excess water. I am so not a fan of this machine. I am so annoyed with it. I would trade it off for an older top loading machine in a heartbeat.

We bought a wonderful french door stainless LG frig with all the features we wanted. Twice we woke up and the fridge temperature was above 45F. We thought that we left a door open or the power had gone out. On the third time - with water everywhere in the kitchen and the interior temperature above 50F we called LG and asked for repair. The fridge is less than 15 months old and we paid $2975. It took most of the day to get through all of the automated phone questions, when we finally spoke to a person they said that they would arrange for a repair company to contact us. That took 3 days before we heard from a company (who gets 1 star reviews on yelp) and it took more than a week for them to schedule a repair person who confirmed what LG told them needed to be done. It has been more than 3 weeks and we still do not have our refrigerator repaired. We have had 3 canceled repair appointments and one that did not show up. LG needs to do better than this. We purchased the top of the line refrigerator - this is our third LG fridge and two of them have had problems but their lack of response for repair is unbelievable. We actually got a call from them asking about our customer service experience - how about terrible? We are living out of an ice chest and all of our food has been ruined 3 times. And we still do not have a working fridge.

I bought the largest refrigerator with an ice crusher to provide ice and food for my disabled husband. He is disabled with Parkinsons from exposure to Agent Orange during his service in Vietnam. I am his sole caregiver. He is on many medications and a special diet so I needed a reliable refrigerator. At first this unit was great but the condenser died and we lost all our food and his medications. We had bought the LG long term warranty. Their warranty department is not connected to their service department but their service department does not have the warranty information. After many calls for 2 weeks to both warranty and service departments they finally sent a service provider who took another 2 weeks to fix the unit. The service provider did not receive good information from LG and kept asking for information that I did not have. Finally, the refrigerator was fixed. Two months later the refrigerator is not cooling again. Again I am having to call both warranty and service departments. It has been a week since the unit broke and the warranty and service departments have not even called a service provider to fix the refrigerator. I learned last time I have to call everyday to get results. Their call center is in the Philippines so their English is very difficult to understand so I have to ask them to repeat almost everything which is frustrating to me and to the call center operators so we do not get along. Both these situation have been very costly in loss of food and medications and frustrating in their inefficiency in dealing with broken refrigerators. Isnt that what they are there for? Why isnt their system designed to immediately deal with warranty needs????

I bought this expensive refrigerator 4 years ago thinking that the more you spend the more reliable. However so untrue. Last year during thanksgiving It broke down. I bought an extra warranty but LG said the compressor was not warranted and I’d have to pay for it myself. I paid for it alright. Ever since the compressor went out I’ve had to pay for a repair man to come to fix it 4 times now. I came home yesterday and found water on the floor. For as much as I have paid on repairs I could have had a brand new refrigerator. So now I’m going to be wise and stay away from LG.

June 2011, we decided to replace our kitchen appliances. Not because our 27 year old Kitchen Aids did not work, but that they looked very outdated. After very much research, we decided on the LG 4 door LMX 28994 refrigerator with the Converta drawer, the LDF 7932 Dishwasher, and the LMS 2073 Microwave Oven. We choose to purchase a GE Monogram dual fuel range rather than an LG at that same time. Our decisions were carefully researched, and the choices made not only based on those particular appliances features, but also upon the then available reviews. 10 months later, we woke to find the food in our fridge warm and spoiled, and our dishwasher no longer working. April 2012, LG replaced our refrigerator, and when I asked if a new warranty would take effect, was advised by LG that they would only extend our existing fridge warranty by 3 months. I asked why? It was a brand new refrigerator... should it not have a one year warranty? Our dishwasher motor was replaced by LG that same month. 3 months later, our microwave started to malfunction, just after it was out of warranty. We did not purchase an extended warranty for the Microwave, but did purchase extended warranties for the refrigerator and dishwasher. Currently we once again have a refrigerator that requires servicing. Its making so much noise that it wakes us in the middle of the night, and our cheeses are going soft, and milk is warm. The service tech cant seem to decide if its the fan or the compressor. Our hope is that this issue is resolved before our extended warranty is up in June 2016, which by the way, is the only right thing we did when we chose to purchase LG appliances. We should have gone with all GE Monogram, since we have not had any trouble at all with our GE range. Our dishwasher has the worst designed racks weve ever seen, and we are now having to pre-rinse our dishes before placing them in the dishwasher. Ahhh modern technology, got to love it. I wonder if Mr. Seong-Jin Jo, President and CEO for LG Appliance Company is aware of, or even cares about the multitude of dissatisfied customers LG appliance has. They may be trying too hard with their Innovation, sending their products out in the market before they have proven their reliability. After spending almost $4,000.00 to purchase our fridge, $1,500 on our dishwasher, and almost $500.00 on our microwave, one would hope that they would last more than a year or two. Never again would we buy LG anything.

Glass cooktop is very difficult to clean and keep clean. In order to clean, it is necessary to use a special Glass stovetop cleaner after each use. Dont like the dials on the front of the stove. Easy to bump into and accidentally turn the burners on. This model is a Slide in and when the oven is turned on it emits a very high pitched sound thru the exhaust on the back of the stove.

LG WT1101CW Washing Machine. Dont Buy LG. Warranty Not Honored. I purchased an LG top loading washing machine a year and a half ago after my twenty-year-old Maytag machine made of steel with a solid lid that finally needed to be replaced. Within months of buying this machine, the plastic around the hinges of the lid began to crack and started to crumble at the hinges. The plastic is not holding up to the opening and closing of the lid on my unit. I had the lid and hinges replaced four times for the same problem. Once the plastic around the hinges starts to crack and disintegrate, the lid cannot close, and you cannot use the machine at all. Customer service assured me after the fourth repair for the same problem that the unit would be replaced as defective. The plastic on the new lid after 5 months is starting to crack again, so I called and found out that my case was directed to the Defective Return Team and they rejected the claim. They told me it has been over a year since the purchase and it is now out of warranty. I have been repairing this brand new machine within a few months of purchasing it. Home Depot says its out of their hands, its up to LG but LG has not adhered to their own policy that after three visits to repair the same problem, it is considered unrepairable and is considered to be a defective machine and will be replaced. They will now send a technician out for a fifth time for the same repair. Its not fixing the problem! The lid keeps cracking around the hinges on both sides. Poor quality, poor workmanship, cheap materials and they will not replace the machine, and now that it is out of warranty, they may not replace the lid when it cracks again and I will have a machine I cannot use that I paid almost $700 for. After experiencing this, I will never buy another LG product again.

I have raised a complaint on my recently bought LG washing machine direct drive on 24th December. LG service had come on 26th and said the panel has to be replaced and they have to get the panel from Cochin. Next day I called them due to lack of response and they said it has to arrive from Noida. Today we called and they said that part is no longer available. I trusted LG and purchased this product. Now I regret it. I suggest if LG has no commitment at making quality products then give me a temporary washing machine until the repair is over. I had a useless customer care experience. Only fake promises and nothing else. I have had same experiences with LG Refrigerator and Microwave oven which too have repair issues. I quit LG.

I am very upset and very frustrated! I bought a full suite of LG kitchen appliances just over 2 years ago from HHGregg and invested in a 5 year (HHGregg premium) warranty to cover all of the appliances. In just 2 short years I am having trouble with all of my appliances and am currently waiting on a service call from HHGregg (whom I will never buy appliances from ever again). Found out today that the HHGregg warranty is not as good as the paper on which it is written! One complaint is the LG microwave oven. It stopped working (the plate will no longer rotate and will not heat up). Apparently, there is a default in the design of the LG microwave ovens that fit over the stove. The heat from the stove causes the microwave system to stop working. LG and HHGregg should replace my malfunctioned microwave oven with one without this flaw! No LG told me to contact HHGregg! HHGregg offered me only a 200.00 store credit! This cost does not replace my microwave! I feel robbed by LG and by HHGregg! Shame on both these companies!!!

Should have researched better. This dishwasher sucks! Very low dish capacity. Thought we were getting a deal on it. Only thing we got a deal on was price. It was cheap, but not worth the money. Its loud and frankly, does not do a very good joy drying the dishes either.

I purchased an LG Washing machine with the pedestal back in April of 2010 for $1,309.95 from P.C. Richards. After 3-years and 4-months, my machine stopped spinning and had a loud squeaking noise. I paid about $400.00 in repairs at that time for a power cord and the computer control panel which completely burnt out. After the P.C. Richards Repair Man left, I washed exactly 2-loads of clothes before the washer stopped spinning and I had to call the Repair man back from P.C. Richards to find out what the problem was. Well after the 4th visit from P.C. Richards Repair Men, I was told that a Ball Barren was missing and it would be a very expensive job to do. With that being said, I went for a second opinion and was told that was indeed the problem which would cost me $500.00 to repair. You know when people purchase expensive appliances like washers and dryers from Manufacturers like LG, they expect the product to last at least 10 to 15 years. I am deeply disgusted and appalled. What can I do to seek punitive damages? I am a working mother of 3 and am at a hardship to make ends meet and cannot afford a new washer right now which I was told by the repairman I should purchase a new machine. In TEARS, can someone help me please?

When I shopped at Lowe’s for appliances, I heard about LG Refrigerators and I ended up selecting it. I’m not really happy with it. It wasn’t cooling and I lost all my food in the freezer. The technician came out and said that he fixed it but then, it got even worse. It went through a lot of repairs and a whole lot of different parts had to be ordered and replaced on it. There was a lot of technicians coming out here to fix it and delays with getting parts. So, it has not been a good experience for me. I’ve been talking to LG as well as the technician too. They had a contractor come out and he had to make two visits to get it repaired. Right now, it’s working, but I don’t know for how long. I haven’t even had it three years and this happened. I don’t think I’ll buy another LG refrigerator.

Bought an LG fridge a year and a half ago for over $2000.00. Suppose to be top of the line. It started making a terrible sound and the cooling started to fail. By morning the fridge completely shut down. Called HhGregg who stated, Your warranty expired. What do you expect us to do? Found out no one works on LG fridges in my area. Got a hold of HHGreggs service center who said they would be out. They have come out 5 times in the last 10 weeks and left each time knowing the fridge is not fixed. They refuse to replace the compressor which has a 10 yr. warranty. Not sure where to go next. Would never recommend HHGregg or LG to anyone.

We bought our LG washing machine in May of 2014. It has never worked right from the beginning. I would have to watch it closely to restart it when it would go into the IE mode. I would have to press the start button twice to get it to resume washing. I had a tech come out to my house today to check it and he said the computer board needed replaced at the amount of $350.00. I told him I would rather buy a new machine instead of fixing it because it was the biggest piece of junk I have ever owned. He also said he has fixed many with the same or similar problem. Ill never buy another one.

I bought my LG French Door Refrigerator in December of 2014. It cost over $3000 and I was told by the salesman at Home Depot how GREAT the linear Compressor is. I noticed on Sunday that the ice was melted and the temperature was rising. I found my LG information and called Customer service. I was told the earliest they could come out was 4 days later. They also told me that he could not uninstall the fridge. It had to be moved out of its slot so he could access it, and it had to be unplugged. I was also told that the compressor was under warranty, but the replacement would be 375-425 PLUS state tax. Well, after 4 days, I had to throw away all the food that was inside. Probably another $200/300. The guy came out and told me that he would order the parts, but my cell service was bad so he couldnt tell me if they even had the compressor in stock. He told me they would come out the next day, unless the part isnt available. Which, reading the forum, looks like its 5 weeks out. Terrible product. The Sad thing is, that Im a Realtor. I have caused at least 5 or 6 clients and friends to buy an LG fridge because, the compressor has a 10 year warranty... as if that does any good. Im a single Mom, and I feel like I have to earn my money twice. Once to kill it and bring it home, and again to make sure it doesnt fly out the window. Im angry, Frustrated, and defeated.

Purchased LGs top of the line matching washer and dryer in Oct 2014. Since have had issues the last four months with OE code and repeated rinse cycles. VERY costly as I pay for water! I contacted LG and of course customer service, located in another country, cannot service the washer. They feel an almost four year old washer is well used! REALLY- washers average lifespan is 12 years on newer versions - older washers would go forever - 25 years plus! Very disgusted with LG customer service and more importantly their craftsmanship of poor quality! Pretty appliances, pleasing to the eye but purely JUNK! This company needs to step up to plate and take care of their customers. Buyer beware - one year new LG appliances that break cannot be fixed because LG discontinues the replacement parts!

LG is one of the best dishwashers I’ve use, very efficient in less water, great heating system for drying, many rinses for clean dishes. Yet uses less water. The time to wash the dishes could be in a shorter time. Mine uses 2hrs 11 minutes then the dry process. I’d buy the same machine just the as I love the fact that you rarely have to rewash any dishes regardless of the food that sticks to it. Love it!!

LG GL-M522 GNSL-2015. I bought in May 2015 this fridge as I required a bigger one. But it is bigger just in terms of model specifications. In fact its designing is so poor that it does not fulfill my only requirement of more space to use. I am happy that I didnt sell my old small LG322 l fridge otherwise I couldnt put even a small size watermelon or a normal size jug in the fridge. At the time of purchase even its door sensor was also defective. When technician came, he told me you should take AMC of this fridge as its maintenance is too costly. Its PCB only costs Rs8500, service charges 680/-. I am very scared if I have to repair my fridge, what will I do.

They are extremely rude & basically the worst customer service ever! I want my money back after waiting for almost a month of paying for service (July 7th) & they want to charge $100 for a service call that wasnt! I deserve a FULL REFUND. This machine is horrible and LG is not backing the quality of their product! There was a recall on this machine and it took three visits by the repairman to finally get my machine working properly and then it was only under warranty for 90 days, which is about how long it lasted before the unbalanced load started again. LG will not fix the same problem that was never fixed properly from the beginning. I am very disappointed and after doing online research it is evident that there is a problem with the machine that LG needs to take care of.

After only 5 years the compressor on my LG French door refrigerator has failed (LFC25776). Although the cost of a replacement compressor is covered under warranty we will have to pay for the labor and the service technician informed us that the replacement compressor will only be covered for 90 days. We have lost all the food in the refrigerator. We just purchased another 100 pounds of ice for the cooler. I had designed my kitchen around this new refrigerator and purchased all new LG appliances. After reading the complaints about LG I have decided to buy a new refrigerator NOT A LG. I hope an LG representative reads these complaints and reaches out to consumers -- the product looks great -- unfortunately does not last.

I’ve been wondering why my clothes have little holes in them, get pilly and faded so quickly, and even get tied in a knot sometimes when I do a load of laundry. I finally realized it’s the new washing machine (WT7600HWA). I am so disappointed. The spin cycle is so high that it’s causing little holes In my clothes. I believe it’s also causing the clothes to get all entangled and tied up in a knot which is difficult to untangle and make them a very wrinkled. I am very unhappy with this washing machine and very disappointed. I would not recommend it to anyone. I also don’t like the cycles are so long, why should I take an hour and a half to do a load of laundry? That uses more electricity and water that way as well.

I am incredibly angry with LG products as well as their customer service. We bought an LG steam dishwasher from Best Buy and paid for install. After around 2 decent years, we received an error message. Contacted LG immediately HOPING they would send someone out as we NEVER called prior at least to look at it. They hire local subcontractors so I was charged a $75 fee just to take a peek. I was told the dishwasher wasn’t level and the drain line needed a bigger loop to drain properly. Thank you and on his way. The dishwasher performed for about 5 cycles and three weeks later before last evening rinse cycle that flooded my brand new kitchen and theres water all under the floors. Ill call again but I am not sure I am going to get anywhere. TERRIBLE product. Terrible service. A big fat F from me. Now I have to hire Servpro to come out and dry the floors... rip out my brand new flooring... I am out of pocket for way more than the dishwasher cost. They should have a class action suit against them. I am sure we all suffered more than just the cost of the dishwasher!

I bought a top loading washing machine (no agitator in November 2013). The first week I washed a pillow and it shredded it and any towels to pieces. I called Home Depot and they said I had to deal with LG. A repair person came out and determined that the plastic rim around tub needed to be replaced. I wanted LG to replace my washer and they said NO. They told me that I had to have repair people out 3 times for same issue before they would consider replacing it. The plastic rim got replaced and the washer continued to shred clothes. The next repair person came out and found sharp edges in bottom of tub that have been ripping clothes. He then contacts LG and they say that this not covered under warranty. The repair will cost $800 (which is more than I paid for the washer!). The repair guy told me to only wash clothes on Bulky bedding setting so that clothes will less likely shred because it uses the most water. The following month I had a loss in the family and gave up trying to deal with LG. So for the past 4 years I have been using this washer only on Bulky bedding setting and throwing out a piece of shredded clothing about every other wash. The washer never cleans well, my whites are always dull and makeup never washes out of washcloths. The top latch also broke and I have to hold the lid down for a while before it will start. For past two weeks I have been getting a an error message that my brother who works on washing machines could not fix. It will not drain/spin. My brother took the back of the washer off to see if he could help and there was tons of pillow stuffing and shredded clothing pieces from the very first week of having this machine! LG says all repairs are up to me and there is nothing they can do. I will NEVER buy anything LG again!
