Product Reviews:

Purchased a larger hot water heater after reviewing the offerings from the big box stores. Obtained a 40 gallon Lo-Nox type. No problem. Found that I did not have time to install and 3 months later had a company install for almost $300. Within the first month the pilot went out at least 5 times. Had the install company come out and take care of the problem. Worked OK for 2 months and now the pilot light goes out again. Watched the flames myself and find them to be yellow. OK, so try to see what the situation is, call the installer, then call technical support. I am in a basement, on a cell phone and the representative basically has zero patience, zero tolerance for questions, treats me like an idiot and probably has never looked at any of the guides but keeps harping on me.I asked 5 times for patience and guidance not to be treated like an idiot. As time went on it was clear that the representative has zero experience in front of the product or the information in the install guides. She kept calling it a manual and I tried at least 3 times to ensure that "her manual" is the install guide. She never did affirm. I stated I wanted my money back and she stated no. Whirlpool has a very skillful representative to keep consumers away. However this consumer is a small apt owner that purchases appliances, as well as hot water tanks microwaves etc. No longer will I purchase anything Whirlpool. Oh I will send a complaint about this rep, and she said "that's fine send it to the PO box" Total lack of product knowledge and not even skillful in a conversation asking for assistance. The installer also stated that this product has horrible reviews. I wish I had seen them before all of this. Total frustration and something unwarranted. I am out $900 and am replacing the tank with a Bradford white from the plumber. Lesson learned. Good bye Whirlpool, hope others stay away from Whirlpool everything. Choosing another brand is the only thing that makes businesses wake up and smell the money.

Model KCMC155JSS-0 sparks and arcs. Never had a microwave do this.

We bought a new Samsung convection microwave, Model MC17J8000CS, and a Samsung refrigerator, Model RF4287HARS/XAA, which was delivered Sept. 14, 2016. Microwave - Suddenly stopped in middle of heating vegetables 13 months after purchase (last night). Great! Refrigerator - Frequently, the middle drawer gets hung up and won’t close without a few tries. Just don’t open it too far and keep trying. You’ll get it; well, I always have. If you change from CRUSHED ice to CUBED ice, be ready for NO ice to drop into your glass. Open the door and you get your ice. Yes, it’s all over your feet and the floor but at least you know where it is. On the positive side, I think they’re attractive appliances. My husband thinks they spot too easily but I’m ok with that. In all fairness, he is the one who cleans them.

GE microwaves are crap. In fact it's not restricted to microwaves. It's their ENTIRE line of appliances. They team up with other grade e or f manufacturers for appliances (ie: LG, Samsung) and ANY GE appliance is almost guaranteed to fail prematurely. I see all these comments bucking Malaysia and in all reality the fact remains that Malaysia makes damn good stuff (think SONY). But it is the COMPANIES that build the products and how much they're getting paid that factors quality. No doubt that GE is using the bottom dweller rejected off the assembly line parts to build their units. Most are Chinese garbage. China also builds some very reliable products but as the saying goes "dumb American will buy anything." They save the best for them and sell us the crap.It is the lowest grade of those already should have been scrapped at the factory parts that GE passes off as quality and they do a good job at showing it. A cheap 30 dollar China made Emerson microwave made by Daewoo (Korean company that actually is decent) lasts longer and takes a hell of a beating compared to the overpriced rejected junk we call GE. The GE ac units are another classic example of pure garbage. Sadly the older GE works forever. That should sum it up. "Why didn't the GE executives while visiting Thomas Edison's grave make every effort to step away from his grave and not stand upon it? Because Thomas Edison would pull them under."

I bought this microwave about 4 years ago at a Walmart. I remember declining the extended warranty on it at time of purchase. Anyway just started having the same door latch problem everyone else had. When you shut the door the light stays on, you slam the door and it goes off, but when you put the cook time in and press start, nothing happens. Slam the door again and it works. I was just going to put it on the curb for garbage pickup, however, I decided to take it apart and see what the problem was. After removing the impossible screws on the case, I discovered that the latch mechanism, which is mounted to a very weak piece of metal, was bent over which caused all the problems. I bent it back and put a piece of metal wire from the bottom screw to a machined hole that is above the latch mechanism to give it additional support. It works so far. Seems like the issue is a poor design flaw with the mount like the previous posts have written. Not mad, just glad I didn't throw it away.

Our LG microwave went out within months. LG refuses to repair or replace (THAT'S WHAT WARRANTY PROMISES) - only offers ORIGNAL WHOLESALE price paid by our designer, no shipping, NOT WHAT IT WILL COST US TO REPLACE even though we explained multiple times that the price was not what came out of our pocket (because of designer add-on) and not what the model costs now with inflation. We custom cut and trimmed for that microwave. We will be out $100 plus to replace it.

Wish I had googled "Panasonic microwave door" before buying. Without fail the door latch will break just after the 1 yr warranty expires and Panasonic customer service and tech support are of no assistance. Their microwaves are built of cheap materials. (Hence the 1 yr warranty!) If you want a microwave that will last longer than one year do not buy Panasonic.

Have a large Sharp Carousel II (1100 watts) from Best Buy. It has lasted a good 10-12 years and was very reliable. Due to an unsuccess effort to replacement the small cardboard radiation light cover, I have toss an otherwise perfect machine. It makes sparkling sounds. For a while, we were able to tape the pinhole leak shut. For safety reasons, we will toss it out. I have a small temporary microwave of 700 watts which is often disappointing and does not cook food well.

We own a Whirlpool microwave hood combination. The door started cracking where the handle attaches. Ordered a new door and installed in July 2017. 18 months in the door and the handle have both started to crack again. This seems to be a problem with Whirlpool microwaves but they won't stand behind their product. They'll send someone out to replace it for $$$$ but they won't admit they have a flawed product. One year warranty - no exceptions. Will have to replace the microwave and it won't be Whirlpool!

We have had nothing but trouble with our new refrigerator (Counter depth refrigerator with French doors on top), which was delivered Aug 14th 2017. By Aug, it quit. We had to get everything out to save it, hauled it to our daughter's extra refrigerator and freezer, and it took 3 1/2 wks to get it fixed. The computer board went out and of course, it had to be ordered. We didn't get our refrigerator back until sometime in Sept. Then, just before Christmas, it quit again. Finally got someone out between the holidays to take a look at it, and of course, it couldn't get fixed until the 3rd of Jan because a panel was out on the new computer board. There is a serious design problem with this refrigerator, and KitchenAid will not replace it or refund our money. Not a reputable company! They've cut corners on their products and are not the quality they used to be. Steer clear! We are in our 18th home and have had many refrigerators over the years. This is the worst. I also have a brand-new KitchenAid microwave that has been fixed and replaced because it had issues. Just wouldn't buy this brand.
