It was a good ac and we didn’t have too many problems with it but we decided to go for Payne this time because we asked around and they came highly recommended as something in the price range we were looking for. This is the sixth month we are using it and so far everything is working great. It doesn’t take much energy to run one of these and that’s a major plus according to us.

The refrigerator does what it is supposed to do. The fact that I had to have it repaired only after 1 year of ownership confounds me. The space in this side by side is a bit crampy. Seems like I'm always shuffling things around. I truly believe that Whirlpool made the condensation tray underneath the unit out of cardboard. It literally disintegrated and started leaking after about a year and it was 200.00 to have it replaced by a repairman. The water filters always tend to piddle on the floor too. At least I hope that's what it is, and not another wilted tray!

After only 2 years, the 3 ton a/c and heating unit needed service and Freon added. Now, after only 10 months, the unit once again is not cooling. The initial diagnosis was that it needed more freon, not it needs a new condenser. I will never, ever buy another Goodman and if you are smart, neither should you. A $4000 unit should at least give you carefree service for 5 years more. I am going to contact Goodman and see what they have to offer.

Good performance. I searched a lot for the proper AC and this was almost good in every review out there. Happy with my purchase. It Came brand new (some say it was used, it was not in my case) and good packaging. The window mount is a little bit flimsy and bends out in my setup, but it works just fine. Get some sealer for your window for sure.

Iceman only diagnoses AC problems that are not covered under warranty and then attempts to charge enormous fees to get problem fixed. AC unit is less than 10 years old and per Iceman I have had 4 leaks, needed 3 evaporator coils and possible condenser coils all of which is not covered under the warranty. Carrier says nothing they can do, I have the contract with Iceman and have to use them. If I want to try to find another Carrier Dealer to honor my extended warranty I can try. No AC unit should need an evaporator coil every 2 years and continue to leak for 8 years straight. I need a new thermostat and can't get one because Iceman can't diagnose the correct problem because the thermostat is under warranty and I can only get a new thermostat from a Carrier Dealer and Iceman won't get me one.

We purchased an American Standard Gold (made by Trane with Trane customer service) HVAC system for our upstairs area in 2012. We did so based ratings and quality reviews. We had good Trane systems in our previous homes with no major issues. This current system experienced 8 breakdowns in the past six years with four this year alone. In nearly every case it was a different issue. I have paid more than $3000.00 in repairs in spite of having a 10 year parts warranty with the system. I have never had such failures of HVAC in any of the homes that I have owned over the past 40 years.

We have a "top of the line" variable speed high efficiency Trane natural gas furnace. It is now 14 years old, but apparently nearing the end of its life. So much for the 20-year life expectancy we were told to expect when we bought it. We had to have the inducer motor assembly replaced twice within the first year of ownership - at least that was covered under warranty. 13 years later, we have had to replace the blower motor assembly in December 2014 for $800, parts and labor. Now, in March 2015, we have to have the inducer motor assembly replaced again at a cost of $900.00, parts and labor. The local HVAC service technician was able to get it running temporarily - bad bearings - while they order the part. It's been a brutally cold winter here in the northeast, so the furnace has gotten a work-out. We will be pricing new furnaces this summer - and we will not be buying a Trane. When the furnace works, we have been happy with the variable speed functionality. But the endurance has been very disappointing, especially since it was such an expensive furnace to begin with.

Product: Whirlpool Gold Series, Model WRX988SIBM01: Purchased 2014 at Lowe's. 2nd day after delivery, called Whirlpool, refrigerator not working properly, freezer drawer will not close, condensation on outside. Sent person that delivered the refrigerator to "fix" problem, freezer had frozen ice behind each drawer approximately 2 inches that would not allow drawers to close. Delivery person used hair dryer to melt ice and adjusted drawers. Still periodically have to physically remove ice build up to allow drawers in freezer to seal properly. Ice maker stopped working, makes no ice at all, ice comes from inside refrigerator not from freezer, bad design.Today woke up to freezer drawers completely thawed and had to throw away all food, panel shows temperature at -2*. All food thawed and unable to be cooked/used. Called Whirlpool could not send someone until next Tuesday (4 days). We are a family of 5 and cannot wait that long. Unfortunately have called 3 other appliance companies only to find that refrigerator has to be repaired by "special technicians"! This is our first Whirlpool, bought because "made in America", have been very disappointed with our $2500.00 purchase. Not sure that we will ever purchase another Whirlpool product, our inclination will be to buy less expensive product and choose to replace as opposed to paying recurring service calls + parts and labor.
