Product Reviews:

I have a bunch of these in a commercial strip mall I own. They work very well for bathroom sinks and are easy to mount and set up. I have had one failure with this brand and that was after 8 yrs of use. This wouldnt supply a shower but is great for light use and you dont have to find space for a tank or worry about it always heating water and wasting electricity. These units only energize when the hot water is being used.

My water heater burner went out after just over 3 years caused the pilot to go out. I was worried that although all parts were covered for 12 years and labor for only 3 and the labor would be very expensive. When I called and told them about the problem they said the part was covered and would ship it next day air but 10 minutes later another rep called and said they would cover the labor as well and to check a nearby service company as they might have the part in stock. Long story short without having to scream and yell my problem was corrected within 8 hours and all I have to do is drop off the new burner at the service company when it arrives. I have been lucky and haven't had many warranty problems in my life but none that I have had have been resolved so painlessly. I will never buy anything but Whirlpool from this day forward. Thank you Whirlpool.

My current Reliance water heater is less than 50 days old and is very efficient at heating the water I use and maintaining it. I'm very pleased as is my family with its performance thus far. I selected it from several available and it met what I was seeking. As I have owned this brand in the past I knew it would meet my expectations. Reliance water heaters perform well over long periods of time. They are quality built and easy to adjust settings. They are also good for the pocket making them a great value. They came in quick order. The installers were very courteous and were very careful to remove the old one with the new without disturbing the area or making a mess throughout the process. It was not a lengthy time so my day was not overly disturbed. They arrived at the time that was scheduled which I appreciated.

Our water heater is 5 years old and has a issue with the airflow turning the pilot light out. I called the 1-800 number and customer service was very helpful, helped get my pilot light back on, and even had me send in photos of the unit to fix any issues to keep this from happening again. It can be rough taking cold showers but thankfully this company helped us not have to do that.

John Wood manufacturer is a Canadian company that is a subsidiary of GSW, acquired by AO Smith in 2006. It offers a wide variety of water heaters for any household, budget, installation requirements and house type, and is sold mainly in Canada. If looking for an affordable unit which comes with average energy efficiency, you can get one for a few hundred dollars. If you want the top of the line model, condensing tankless is what you should go for, or if you prefer traditional, tank-type Polaris or Envirosense is the right pick, but be ready to pay for the quality.

My American Water Heater, E52-40H-045D Serial 9709122230 made in 1997 is now 21 years old. I just refinanced my house and had to get new insurance. They questioned the age of my water heater and I told them, "So what?" It looks like it's new, I have a timer that shuts it off for 10 hours at tonight, and it is in the garage. If it were to leak it would run down the driveway. I have not done one repair job on it, eg. new elements and don't plan to replace it until it stops working. Highly recommend buying one.

After 31 years of use, I just replaced my Reliance 40 gal Model 501 gas water heater. It was still working fine but I noticed a small amount of water under the heater and I felt that a new heater would provide hotter water. The original heater had a 3 year warranty and sold for $178! Reliance made an incredible product... I hope the new one that replaced it is half as good.

Navien isn't exactly a household name, but it should be. This company is at the forefront of tankless water heater and boiler technology. Owning a Navien tankless water heater means lower bills and a much smaller carbon footprint.

I was surprised by all the bad reviews. My present Power Miser 9, 50 gal, electric, was purchased exactly 12 years ago. In that time, at year 8, the thermostat had to be replaced that was free, but I paid $100 for a 1-year service contract. Prior to this one, I had another Kenmore. I can't remember the warranty years (10?), but at 15 years I decided to change it. The only thing that went wrong in 15 years was a heating unit burned out at about 13 years which was easily replaced by a Home Depot universal unit for a few dollars. Being a big spender, I replaced both elements. Previously, I used Kenmore heaters at other places and other times and never had a problem.

After 5 years of great service our water heater started acting up. The plumber says 15 days until they can come out to fix, A. O. Smith stood behind the warranty and sent the much needed parts next day. I mean the very next day at no cost not even for shipping. I've never dealt with a warranty issue this easily. Simple install, Great company, great customer service. I look forward to many more years using their products.
