Remodeled our kitchen Summer 2014 and purchased all new top of the line Samsung appliances (Fridge, range, micro & dishwasher). Definitely not cheap. 6 months in was the first service call on the Fridge. After 4 calls finally repairman sent out to access a dead ice maker. He shows up & states I need a new ice maker and had to order it. No ** Sherlock! Fixed it on second service call. Now 12 months and Dishwasher makes a loud bang then stops, making only a loud electrical hum. You know that hum, the on that says the pump/motor just crapped its pants. DREADING calling Samsung repair again. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY A SAMSUNG APPLIANCE!!!

I was wondering how many complaints does there have to be before a company has to recall the product or a class action lawsuit happens? I purchased my Samsung refrigerator in October 2013. January 2014, 3 months after purchase date, the ice machine broke and needed replaced. July 2014, the magnetic strip broke on the French doors and that had to be replaced. August 2015 the refrigerator temperature kept rising, ice formed on the back wall inside and the fan motor was loud. A new drain kit was installed also an evaporator assembly and an evaporator panel with motor. Its January 2017- I have been experiencing the exact problems that happened August 2015, my refrigerator is almost 60 degrees, the fan stopped making that awful sound, maybe it burned up. I call Samsung and they give you the run around, refrigerator is out of warranty, they are not responsible. I am still fighting with them to fix this SAME issue I had before, they dont warranty their own parts? Are Samsung refrigerators disposable after 2 years? My old GE refrigerator side by side is still running great after 18 years. I have never had to have it serviced one time. The repair service is coming today. If Samsung does not cover this I am calling the news, Better Business Bureau and a lawyer. Samsung should backup their products. Samsung has enough bad publicity now, I hope to spread more. Is there a Lemon Law for refrigerators? If the same thing breaks 3 times its a lemon???

On December 15, 2015 I purchased a Samsung French Door Refrigerator. Less than one month after delivery the ice maker quit working, was totally frozen up from leaking water. I purchased this item from Best Buys Pacific. The Geek Squad replaced part of the ice maker but did not remedy the program. Upon searching the internet the above was a known problem with this particular refrigerator. In fact Samsung had issued a technical bulletin on how to fix this problem. In the interim I purchased an extended warranty from Samsung. The same initial problem reoccurred in early December 2016. I took my complaint to the appliance manager at Pacific in Best Buy. He told me this was a Samsung problem. It has now been six weeks and several visits from repair companies the ice maker has not been fixed. It still freezes up, leads water and stops making ice cubes. I was directed to the regional representative for Samsung. Keeps sending out a different repair company without results. Needless to say I am totally frustrated with Samsung and their defective product. I have asked Samsung to replace the refrigerator but upon examining a more recent model the same problem was visible. Samsung continues to sell a defective product. I will be filing complaints with the Texas and Federal lemon laws to try and rectify the above problems. Needless to say I cannot recommend Samsung to anyone.

If you are thinking about buying a Samsung refrigerator dont. This is the worse product ever and I regret buying it. I purchased the product in 2013 from Lowes, they were having a sale so I purchased the refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher. I have not had any problems with the stove but the dishwasher and refrigerator is a whole new ball game. First, there are the filters (which are not cheap) you have to buy every six months to a year for the refrigerator depending on how much you use the water dispenser. Secondly, the ice maker just one day stop making ice and this has been going on for about a year as I refuse to pay almost $500 to a repairman, that the Samsung customer service (who was rude) recommended, for a new ice maker for a refrigerator that I havent had for that long. I can purchase another refrigerator for that price (I mean its only been 3 years. My GE appliances lasted 10 years before I had problems with them). We even had a local repairman come out to take a look at it and he wouldnt touch it because he said that they are too difficult to work on and he also said that he has had several calls about Samsung refrigerators for one thing or another and that only a trained Samsung repair person would be able to fix it but they want too much money. And then there is the dishwasher that seem to always feel wet on the inside even when not in use and it has a smell that I cant describe. I am so disappointed in this product. The biggest regret of my life. So I am warning you Samsung may be good in the cell phone business but their appliances SUCK!!!! I should have just stuck with GE.

I have been using my Samsung DMS 600TIX dishwasher for 2 years (naturally just out of warranty). It looks beautiful and is stainless steel which gives the impression that it is a quality product. Far from it!! The springs on the doors need replacing on both sides (one snapped with a very loud bang when I opened the door). The catch which keeps the door shut is also broken. Very disappointed and will never buy Samsung again! I spoke to Tafelberg who sold it to me as well as Samsung and neither are the slightest bit interested.

We paid over 3,600.00 for this piece of junk! I feel so stupid believing that they would stand by their products. We remodeled kitchen with ALL SAMSUNG!! Big mistake! The ice maker broke after a couple months. Two service calls and new ice maker installed and now it’s broken again. Had to go purchase countertop ice maker and use countless plastic ice cube trays!! Not what you’d think you’d have to do with this high priced appliance. I worked for GE for years and I should have went with GE or Hotpoint. Never again will I bring another SAMSUNG tagged appliance in my home! I think they should be forced to make these appliances work!! I be darn if I’m going to pay out another cent on this junk. I’ve tried contacting the executives up there but I guess they’re too busy to care about their customers. How crappy can you be? I’m tired of using steam or hairdryer to thaw this humongous clump of ice! I would like for Samsung to replace all my appliances that are defective but that’ll never happen. I hope this company goes out of business so others won’t get scammed out of thousands.

From the time we purchase the refrigerator, there were problems with non-functioning icemaker, leaking water that froze at the bottom of the inside compartment, and worst of all, a refrigerator that when set on 44 degrees would freeze down below 32 degrees! I would not recommend this refrigerator or anything that Samsung makes to anyone. I am boycotting everything they make unless they refund me the $1,850 that I threw away buying this piece of crap.

Poorly Made! Then kitchen is 1 month over warranty. Already the bottom metal strip of the oven door is coming off. It was actually glue and the glue is coming off. Very cheaply made. I called and they said to fix its $175.00. I had my last kitchen stove from GE for 13 yrs and never ever had an issue. Will NOT ever buy Samsung again. Very poor craftsmanship.

RF26 French Door Fridge - Purchased at Home Depot for my rental house and I
RF26 French Door Fridge - Purchased at Home Depot for my rental house and I took delivery on August 2015. The price was right but a previous experience with a Samsung fridge (since replaced with GE model) made me buy a 5 year extended warranty for this unit. Glad I did, but in the end the result will be the same. I eventually gave my first 2012 problem counter-depth fridge (RF19) away as I could not in good conscience sell it with THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM I AM HAVING WITH THIS NEWER MODEL!!! A sheet of ice forms under both crisper drawers. I know Im an idiot for taking a chance on Samsung again. Why you may ask... Call me foolish, I wanted to believe they had 5 years to improved their obvious design flaws. Why wouldnt they with so many of these same complaints?? First time shame on Samsung, this time shame on me!! (And maybe Home Depot.) Ill call Asurion and start the process of disappointment. I know what to tell the tech guy when he arrives. There will be no talk of ordering thermostats or other expensive parts or any of that nonsense. Just like I learned on a YouTube video following the first incident. Ill instruct the tech to carefully remove the cover of the twin cooling tower they call it. Then detach the cable harness and swing it out of the way. I wont actually do the work cause that would void my extended warranty. Ill just help with the hair dryer to defrost the frozen water in the center of the drain tray at the bottom of the heater (defroster) elements. The tiny hole the water is supposed to be able to escape thru is no bigger than the diameter of an ink pen refill. The solution is take a scrap piece of copper wire, say 14 gauge and wrap it several times around the heater bar and send it down the center of the tiny hole. This wire then helps transfer the heat directly to that point that freezes up. Reassemble and good to go. At least it worked on that fridge for over 1 year, then the problem came back. Like the guy on YouTube said, it works for while, then repeat as often as necessary. By this time I had learned a trick on how to keep the dripping water out of the food drawers and ruining my veggies (stand a sponge upright behind the drawers). That way all I had to do was check for the ice sheet under the drawers ever week or two, and chuck that ice in the sink. I was willing to put up with no loss of food as an improvement in my situation, resigning myself to the fact that I would not be replacing my home unit with any model of Samsung, even if it were FREE. Samsung was no help at all with the first fridge problems. Reading these comments here, it would seem that that hasnt changed at all. So my lesson learned is similar to others here, I will NEVER EVER purchase ANY Samsung appliance in the future. Also, what I will do different this time is I will file a complaint with the BBB against Home Depot, I wish all the commenters here that say class action this, or the government should do that would take a similar approach. I think this formal complaint action is one that may eventually lead to consumer protection laws being invoked against these thieves who refuse to stand behind their products.

If you are considering purchasing a Samsung dishwasher, DONT. If you spend
If you are considering purchasing a Samsung dishwasher, DONT. If you spend a penny on a Samsung dishwasher, its a penny too much, you might as well throw that money in the garbage. I am pro Samsung for many things, we own several Samsung TVs, phones, washer, dryer, fridge, stove, microwave, DVD players and I am happy with every one of those products, but the dishwasher is another story. The racking system is horrible, so your dishes dont fit properly, they dont stay in place. We have tried every possible layout and nothing works good. No exaggerating, 90% of the dishes come out dirty, especially the top rack items. Drinking glasses, coffee mugs, etc NEVER EVER come out clean. They always have crumb like substances dried into them, requiring us to then soak the glasses in the sink for a while to try to loosen the residue enough for me to clean them. And dont waste your time writing their customer services, because its a total waste of your time. And yes, we take very good care of our appliances, and clean out the drain, the sprayer, everything they recommend and it doesnt do a stitch of good. My best advice, go with another brand for a dishwasher.

The problem is with the ice maker. It is terrible. We bought the refrigerator in February 2017. Ice maker did not produce much ice at all. Store picked it up and brought us a new one in March, 3 weeks after purchasing the other one. The ice maker is also terrible on this refrigerator. A repairperson will be looking at it in a couple of days. Would not purchase this refrigerator again.

Needed repairs within 3 years. Called first appliance repair company not with Samsung. Defrosted it and with service call charged me 296.00. Told me the noise and ice buildup was a compressor issue. Called Samsung and got a certified Samsung technician for another service call fee. Had the parts already to fix it. Apparently, they have problems with drainage, which backs up and causes freezing up. Not apparently under the warranty, though I am sure they know this French door model has these issues, or they would not have their technicians know exactly what is causing the issues and come prepared to fix it. I will never buy a Samsung refrigerator again. Rip off! I am $600.00 in the hole for repairs for their faulty design. They should stand behind their bad designs and fix them at no cost!

I bought a new Samsung Stainless Steel Range in November 2011. I was away for 3 years and the stove was hardly used. Just got home and was cooking for about two months. It seems to have a problem heating the oven and cooking a small chicken takes much too long. Burned on the top and undercooked below. But the MAJOR issue was my exploding cooktop. I was sitting in the living room. I had just warmed my soup and had turned the cooktop off. I then heard a major explosion... like a gun going off in the kitchen. The cooktop had completely shattered. There was nothing on the stove thank goodness and no glass was projected into the room but it really scared me. I know from reading the other complaints I share customer experiences of poor quality and feeling afraid of your stove. I also know they will tell me the stove is past its warranty. I wont even try. It was defective with only 7 months of real use. Built in obsolescence is alive and well with Samsung.

Updated on 05/05/2020: Sumsung does not stand by their appliances. Two week
Updated on 05/05/2020: Sumsung does not stand by their appliances. Two weeks ago, my Samsung microwave - 4-1/2 yrs.old - turned itself on. Didnt hear it running until the fan came on. By that time, it had melted a splatter cover to the turntable. We had to unplug it to get it to stop. The unit was red hot. If we werent home, there could have been a serious fire. Samsungs response - a free service call to diagnose the problem. We would have to pay for the part ($121) plus labor. They assume no responsibility for a potentially dangerous situation. Weve already replaced the Samsung French door refrigerator because of a defective ice maker that would cost $500+ to repair (there is a class action lawsuit concerning this) as well as a potential $300 fan repair. We have had to replace the control panel on the Samsung range 5 months ago. All the Samsung appliances were bought new and delivered Jan. 29, 2015. My advice to anyone considering Samsung appliances - find another brand. Regardless of what Consumer Reports says (which we consulted before making the purchase), buy ANYTHING but Samsung. Thanks for letting me vent.Original Review: We have a Samsung microwave purchased on 2014. Today, the microwave evidently turned itself on without the fan. By the time the fan turned on and I heard it running, it had melted a plastic splatter cover to the turntable. We were unable to turn it off and had to go to the breaker to shut it off. If we werent home at the time, there could have been a fire in our kitchen. This is a very dangerous situation. This is the second Samsung appliance causing issues. We just replaced a Samsung refrigerator also purchased in 2014 that had weekly ice maker jams (we understand there is a class action suit against Samsung for this issue). All I can say is it is very fortunate we were home when the microwave malfunctioned. I intend to replace the microwave and report this issue directly to Samsung. Im sure there is no recourse except to repair or replace the unit. At this point, I have lost all faith in any Samsung appliance and will never purchase this brand again.

Samsung Refrigerator RF32FMQDBSR problems - After a year I noticed the ice
Samsung Refrigerator RF32FMQDBSR problems - After a year I noticed the ice maker bin getting harder and harder to remove and finally it froze up so solid it took 4 hours to thaw and remove the ice bin. It did this again within a month. After some researching I find this is a problem others are having also. Since that second thaw I have been removing ice build up under the ice bin weekly to keep it from freezing up again but its getting worse. It does this whether the ice maker is on or off. After watching this appliance for the last couple of months, I have concluded the drain line for the ice maker defrost has frozen up stopping the drain path of the ice maker defrost melt, which now overflows to under the ice bin and refreezes. This is an obvious bad design with no clear fix in sight. If I were to clear this drain line (dont know how) it will do it again in a year from buildup of ice. The other issue is that ice maker cannot dispense cubed ice, again poor design.

Recently we converted our less than six month old our entire upgraded GE kitchen appliances to Samsung Black Stainless Steel at roughly $6,500. In spite of the cost we have always had success with the product brand including TVs, cell phones, tablets, appliances you name if Samsung makes it we buy it. However the dishwashers has been less than acceptable not to mention most disappointing. Besides being noisy theres always standing water after a complete cycle. If unattended the odor of spoiled or soiled smelling water its all but unbearable. No problem. We contacted the local Samsung authorized technician to make a house call and repairs or adjustment. After a half hour he said everything was in working order and the accumulation of the standing water was normal... I quote its needed to prime the pump... That of course is BS!First thing when you start the washer is WATER! Subsequently and after filing a complaint with customer service which I might add are nothing more than pimple face robots sitting in front of computers that reply from canned presentations. Eventually and after some persistence our complaint was sent to another department and after waiting three or so weeks we get a call back saying they are sending us a complete refund. Once again my faith is restored with Samsung; but its not to be! After a few more weeks the promised call back never came so we reached out to their customer service and once again we got a runaround with the pending refund. But today we get a call from the department that makes the final decision telling us it was a mistake and the problem is considered maintenance not covered under their normal warranty... Mind you we are talking about a product that was less than three weeks old. Their (CR) mannerism with a response was being read not communicated like in a normal conversation; most disappointing to say the least. The CR kept repeating the same verbiage word for word over and over several times. Before I wrote this review I did some research and discovered besides Samsung - Bosch and Whirlpool they share this common problem. Their recommendation is adding vinegar and lemon juice in the dishwasher or you can buy a cleaner/chemical specific for dishwashers to control odors; expect to pay around $12-$13. So Samsung potential dishwashers buyers beware!

Turned on the broiler element on my Samsung oven and less than 5 min later there was an explosion. You could see blue electricity arcing through. We quickly shut it off, the kitchen filled with smoke, and when we looked the element had exploded and broken. There were burn marks where the electricity hit in the corner. Samsung after dealing with them for two months has offered us $200. The repair person they had come out said it’s extremely unusual and not repairable. I’m pissed.

Shame on Samsung! I bought a refrigerator RT2BSRTS1 in Hong Kong and it was delivered on 25 July 2011. However, we found out that it didnt work the next day. So, we called costumer service and a staff from the maintenance department checked on it on the 27 July 2011. According to the repairman, the refrigerator cannot be fixed and they will just have to replace it as soon as possible. It is already July 30 and I am still waiting for their arrangement. They always say that it is still being processed! It is very urgent to me. All my stuff is just being kept in the kitchen cabinet. It is 30 degrees Celsius so the food will spoil! What happened to this Samsung Company? I would never buy Samsung products. Shame on you, Samsung!

Less than 3 years old Samsung French Door Refrigerator. Icing up and water on the bottom all of the time. They apparently used butane instead of freon gas in these for what reason I dont know. Ive read many of the same complaints. I have bubbling on the top of my plastic on the refrigerator inside as well. It has to have come from high heat. It truly sad that Samsung and every other refrigerator company is making their refrigerators substandard for what we are paying for them now! They used to last for 50 years.

Purchased RS261MDWP fridge from Home Depot June 24th, 2013. I noticed rust forming at lower edge of ice/water dispenser. I did not call and make complaint before warranty expired (missed by two weeks). As it turns out, it makes no difference because the rust is considered cosmetic and is not covered under warranty. I had a Samsung certified serviceman come take a look at it for repair. New door and installation would total over $500. I declined and paid the serviceman the $80 for trip charge. There is an inherent design flaw in the construction of the door. I own numerous rental homes, one of which is an ocean front weekly rental. My appliances of choice are Whirlpool. I have had no rust problems with that fridge and it is less than 200 feet from the ocean! The Samsung fridge is greatly compromised by the rust. It is very obvious and I will be replacing a 1-year-old fridge that will end up in a garage.

Problems since first day... We purchased all our new appliances for our new
Problems since first day... We purchased all our new appliances for our new home to be delivered Feb. 28, 2014. We are very happy with the fridge, washer, dryer. Not so happy with the over the stove microwave as it does not seem to pull in the steam at all and it goes all over the front of the cupboards and underneath as well. And steam drips down the tiled backsplash. The dishwasher is a whole other story. The young fellow brings it in and installs it. While testing it water flooded out the bottom of it. He tried several things but could not figure it out. He called his office and told them the problem and they said they would send out another dishwasher the next day. He then leaves. I go downstairs to get something from the freezer and there is water all over the floor at the bottom of the stairs. I call the store and he comes back. I asked him why he would leave when he knew there was a problem. He had forgot to connect something so he fixed it and returned the next day with another dishwasher. This is number 2... So he does all the connections and lo and behold, water comes spewing out the bottom again! He did try to conquer the problem but to no avail. He called and told the girl at the office about it and they said they would send out another one. This is all in the first week of us supposedly trying to enjoy moving into our new home. So a few days go by and along comes dishwasher number three with two fellows to install it. One does all the work while the other one just lolls around on my new engineered hardwood floor. I wanted to scream!! I was afraid by the time this was figured out I would have a whole lot of marks on the floor. They were here for over two hours and yet again it leaked. Really?? I called the appliance store and complained non-stop like a lunatic because of frustration and to get right down to it, anger. They suggested that I try to pick out a different line of dishwasher. I said I wanted the one that matched all the other appliances. Would they be willing to trade them all out? Well, of course not. So yet again along comes dishwasher number 4 with yet another installer. He installed it and did a quick test and yay! It didnt leak. The next day, water on the floor. In the meantime, I am back at work and have to arrange these visits with repairmen for before I start work at 4 in the afternoon. So, I call the appliance store and rant again. They make an appointment for me with one of the salespeople at a different location. We purchased from a large retailer on 149 Street, Edmonton. They sent us to the 47 Avenue one which is a fair distance from where we live. We went in and it seemed like the salesperson felt we were being unreasonable. I asked him if this kind of product and service would make him happy and would he like it if his time was taken up with this. Long and short, he tried to get us to change to another line and we said no. So he said he would give us $200 off. Big deal. But it was better than nothing. They said they had never had this kind of problem before, so we said lucky us, being the one off. So again back to a number of visits from a serviceman. We were told that maybe our water temperature was too high and this was causing a problem. The temperature of our water was lower than what it gets to on the sanitize cycle by 35 degrees so that seems to be a load of you know what. Then he said it was this part at the front of the dishwasher so he replaced that. Still leaking. I give up and just keep putting a dishtowel under it to catch the leaks and save the hardwood floor. Three years go by (not quite) and now besides the leak it stops draining on occasion and the OE light comes on. I call another repair place that services Samsung products. The guy comes out and says that he needs to replace a part so we do that. He sets up a test and promptly leaves. It hits the rinse cycle and water comes spewing out the bottom again but it did drain. Call them back and have to wait a couple of weeks and he comes out and did something to it and said if there were any problems to call them after Christmas because they would now be closed until after the New Year. Yay!! The third visit he comes out to repair it and now the stupid thing will not do anything. It will not fill even at the beginning to start the leaking process or the OE light to come on, just sits there. I do feel for him as he seems to be a very nice man but now he is waiting to hear back from the Samsung technical help desk to get back to him with some things to try. He tried to replace the circuit panel, but the new one did the same thing as the old. He got out some manual and tried to do some troubleshooting and nothing happened. He checked the pump but that was ok. He checked the overflow sensors and they were fine. Before he came out for the third time I ran it through five cycles. On the normal cycle it did what it was supposed to do and no leaking. Same with the Heavy cycle and Delicate. Did the Quick cycle and it leaked but it did empty. On the Pots and Pans the OE light came on and it did not drain and it leaked. After he tried all he could think to try on the last (third) visit it wont do anything but the lights do come on, just no action. I thought I could just go back to putting the towel on the floor and maybe have to try draining it manually or with some luck maybe it would work when I held down the drain button (sometimes it did and sometimes, no). So here we are with the mother of all dishwashers that looks nice but is totally useless. And I get the distinct pleasure of washing dishes. I dont mind doing that when I feel like it but not all the time because I have to. We will wait now to see if Samsung tech came up with anything for our poor repairman. If not we will ask for our money back on the repair that was useless and go buy a dishwasher from a reputable appliance store from reputable salesperson after doing a lot of research to find out what one would be the most... reputable and reliable. Because we know now for sure that it is not Samsung and we did not care for the service from the place we purchased from originally.

We bought a package deal at Best Buy in December 2016 - a Samsung dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave and slide in double oven. In one years time, 3 of the 4 appliances have broken and need expensive parts. However, the gas slide in range is by far the worst product (NX58K9850). After using the self cleaning feature for the first time, the oven over-heated and door locked. We have to pay $400 to replace the control board to get it to work again. After seeing so many similar complaints, I cant believe there isnt a recall on this oven. We will NEVER buy a Samsung appliance again. Wish I had seen this site Before I made my purchase!

Have a french door refrigerator. Had problems with the ice maker after first 30 days. Ice maker leaks and freezes up. Have had this worked on twice and numerous calls to Samsung with NO help from them. Everyone needs to know there is a class action lawsuit regarding this issue. Contacted Best Buy for service and the guy told me they would come fix it but would only be a 50/50 chance the ice maker would be fixed for good because of continuous problems with this ice maker and it could cost up to $500. Samsung has a problem with this and they should take responsibility to make good on their products. Will not buy another Samsung product.

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator; model RFG293HAWP/XAA, in November of 2011. The wide open cool select pantry draw opened and closed properly for a few months and now it jams on a regular basis. When I called service, they told me I was overloading the draw and not balancing the contents properly. Why design a large draw that you are supposed to leave half empty? And why did it not have a warning sign displayed in the showroom model with the above instructions? I certainly would not have purchased the product if I was correctly informed. Customer Service left me with an Oh well, live with it reply.

Our Samsung Nightmare!! Saturday November 23, 2019 Michelle of Forest Grove, OR (You are not alone). My family and I also experienced the same oven catching on fire. We did have to call the fire department. We have spent at least $300.00 eating out and another $300.00 trying to get the smoke out of our home. We adopted a sibling group of (4). December 2016 our 10 year old oven went out. Having a new family we decided to purchase an entire new set of Samsung stainless steel kitchen products. The refrigerator has been a nightmare ice maker leaks never makes ice, (we consistently have a towel in the water tray) the dishwasher will often stop draining we re-run, the Microwave door sticks, however now that the oven caught fire the bottom of the microwave is burned. Lastly we are thankful we were home because our kiddos would not have been able to control fire, while the fire department was in transit. I will never invest in another Samsung Product. Samsung Customer Service line is sad. We spent Thanksgiving getting food from my neighbors and friends. When guest walk-in our home, they say your appliances are beautiful. We purchased a Samsung RF24FSEDBSR in 2016, built April 2015. 4 door model so that the cold cuts and handy things are in a middle drawer. Great features, and electronic controls provide good feedback that all is working. Bright interior LEDs. Ice maker and water dispenser. The functions and features sold it for us. Within months, the door shelves were cracking. We are not abusive, just placing milk. The plastic is brittle. The shelf bottom will crack and the tabs that hold the door can come apart, which drops it on the floor. Had to buy two new shelves. I bought Styrene plastic sheets from a hobby store, cut and sandwiched them to the drawers in weak areas (using MEK), for reinforcement which solved that issue. Never experienced such poor plastic (HIPS) in a $2000 appliance... or even a $500 unit.At about 3 years old, the fridge starts to buzz inside, and ice is visible in the interior back panel. Ice is encroaching on the evaporator fan. I removed the back panel to access the evaporator coil. Solid ice in the upper half of the coil. As if the defrost heater doesnt work. In fact, the defrost heater does work. Could not find any fault in the defrost thermo-disk, and all temperature sensors measured OK. Heater works too (120 Ohms). Changed the defrost thermo-disk anyway and really defrosted and dried out the cover using a hair dryer. Fridge ran fine for 8 months. Repeat. Turns out the defroster only takes care of the lower half of the evaporator coil! Design flaw. Once you start hearing the fan buzzing, the ice is building in the upper half of the evaporator coil. Once the fan gets stopped, everything including the styrofoam turns into a block of ice. You can thaw out the styrofoam and remove the ice. Or replace that back cover and styrofoam until another humid time when it will freeze up again (design flaw). Ive now defrosted it manually about 6 or 7 times, using every opportunity to measure and determine why this is happening. Ive checked all on-line videos and advice to solve these freeze up issues and attempted those that make sense (cause-effect). I have a power datalogger monitoring the fridge electrical consumption so I can evaluate how often and for how long it defrosts. Taken it on as a riddle.I did contact Samsung early in this process. They sounded concerned, but when the customer service rep check with their manager, they stated I must have been abusive to cause plastic to crack. No warranty. Yeah right. Im gluing everything together. Today, another roller wheel broke off... glued it back on. The freeze issues started right after warranty. Glad I can trouble shoot and fix myself, else the cost would be crazy. Now Im looking at modifications to prevent the evap coil from freezing up again. Whether you are a technical person or not... its not worth the trouble.... Dont let Samsung glitz sucker you in! It is a lemon. Wife hates it too.

I have the bottom freezer, split door fridge model. I bought it solely because the GE Profile I had for over 10 years finally needed replacement (due to some cosmetic damage - no issues involving its functioning) and the Samsung was literally the only model that would fit into the custom space in my kitchen. Within the first months I noticed a lot of water pooling in the bottom below the crisper drawers and then in the crispers themselves. I stopped using them all together and then about a month after the 1 year mark (when the warranty ran out), the left door stopped closing appropriately. In fact, the only way to close it is to manually manipulate the fold and then close the opposite door. I finally got a service appointment, took a day off from work to wait and was told that the part has to be ordered and it will cost me $320!!! What an absolute piece of garbage.

Two delivered within 30 days, and both had a computer issue: I purchased the 25.6 cubic foot French door Samsung refrigerator in November 2012. I had been told by salesmen at two different stores that Samsung was the best refrigerator you could buy. I took their word for it and stopped looking at any other brands. When my fridge was delivered and set up, the delivery man said he was pushing the power freeze button to cool it off quickly so I could put my food back in. He mentioned that it would go off on its own once it had cooled down. I noticed that it stayed on -8 degrees for day. I kept thinking there was a problem with the freezer temperature setting. Finally, I called Samsung and was told that if I unplugged it and plugged it back it, that would take care of the problem. Instead, it plummeted to -8 again, although the freezer was set on 0. I finally figured out that the power freeze button was not turning itself off like it should. Samsung says it should stay on approximately 1 1/2 hour then shut off. Feeling like I had purchased a lemon, I requested a different one. The store very graciously brought out another new refrigerator. After the delivery men left, the first thing I did was push power freeze to see what happened. Would you believe that it also never went off? Wondering if other people had experienced the same thing, I searched on the internet and found this forum. I am so grateful to have found out the problems that exist with Samsung refrigerators before my 30 days are up. I now have 5 days left to request it to be picked up and my money returned. I have also talked with a few servicemen who have told me that they would never own a Samsung. I will say that the look and feel of the Samsung is wonderful. I dont think it will be possible to find any other brand that I like better as far as the inside set up, durable feeling of the shelves and bins; but looking pretty isnt worth anything if it isnt reliable.

In April, we purchased a brand new Samsung dishwasher from City Furniture. This was a very special treat, as we had used free and 50.00 dishwasher all our married lives. We got a top of the line one, thinking this way, we would not have any repairs for year. How wrong we were. Within a week of having it, the dishwasher flashed a code, and quit. After calling Samsung for three weeks, City Furniture kindly replaced the unit. It ran fine..for a month. Then it quit. Multiple phone calls to Samsung, a month later... its fixed. Ran fine for 2 months. Since then, we have made many, many phone calls to Samsung. They have: Twice sent our repair request to the wrong servicemen. Escalated our call three times... No response... Who does not service this area. When they did finally get hold of the right serviceman he was beyond rude. But I guess if you are the only Samsung serviceman in the ares (he is), you can afford to piss off customers, because what else are they going to do? Then Samsung sent the wrong error code to the repairman. After a month, the part came in. Oh but wrong part, because he had the wrong code. Gave him right code. Still waiting. Months later. We have a $1000 dollar Samsung 8 month old dishwasher that has now been NOT working more often that it has worked. Another call to Samsung yesterday. Their response was well, we have to wait for the technician to file a report before we can do anything. You mean the technician who STILL HASNT COME??? Time for BBB. Do yourselves a favour. Dont buy Samsung.

RF263BEAESR/AA - We bought this fridge less than two years ago. I agree with the other reviews that it is a bit noisy but thats not the worst problem we have. The ice maker is awful! The ice remains in the chute (in the door) and then melts and leaks out of the dispenser! We end up with water dripping down the front as well as inside the fridge, in the door shelves and under the produce drawer. We have to keep a folded paper towel under the dispenser constantly! We also have to open the door and reach inside the ice chute with a small spoon to scoop out whatever left over ice remains there or else it will melt and leak everywhere! HOW can we all start a class action suit?

RF217ACRS - Bought fridge in June 2010. Freezer stopped working in June 2014. It was still under 5-year Sealed Refrigeration System Warranty, so I went through a Samsung referred repair company. Our first visit was on 6/27. After our 10th repair visit on Sept 12, 2014, all of which entailed numerous attempts and were coordinated with Samsung Technical Support via telephone, our fridge was deemed unrepairable. (I have invoices and notes documenting each visit.) After 6 different Samsung repair ticket numbers obtained while working with Samsung Executive Customer Service to get Warranty compensation, I was exhausted. When I called them, I was on hold from 17:8 to 47:12 minutes each time and told something different every time. At one point I was talking to an individual in CA (address was residential via phone # look-up). They broke me down when they told me that our repairman should have gotten a 7000# from the Samsung Tech at the time the system was deemed unrepairable. We went entire summer without a working freezer. We would have dumped the refrigerator earlier had we known warranty was not going to come through. I could go on, but I think readers have the idea and the point(s) I am making about Samsung Refrigerators and their Executive Customer Service.

We have continual problems with the evaporator coils freezing up. This seems to be caused by a serious design defect(s). The drain for the water defrosted from the evaporator coil during the normal defrost cycle will freeze and stop up, causing melt water to overflow into the crisper bins. The evaporator coil freezes over, causing the fan to stop, leading to temperatures in the cabinet being wrong. The vegetables in the crisper bins freeze, and the upper cabinet is too warm. The internet is full of complaints on this issue, and Samsung is hiding behind its legal limit on the warranty expiration. There is a cheesy metal tab that extends from the defrost element toward the drain hole, but is does not prevent the drain hole from freezing over. I tried modifying it by extending a copper wire as a heat conductor from this tab further into the drain hole... to no avail. This design was obviously not tested enough, with food in it in normal use, to discover the problem. I would forgive a design flaw if Samsung would fix it and make modified parts available to current owners. I will not forgive them for leaving customers with a $2000 lemon and doing nothing for them. I suggest everyone AVOID SAMSUNG PRODUCTS due to their disregard for their customers and lack of action to fix a defective product.

We bought our Samsung from Lowe's. It was on sale and with my veteran's discount, it was a great price. We are empty nesters and the size of the fridge is perfect for us, with ample door storage. Lots of freezer space also. We love the filtered ice/water through the door options. The stainless steel is so easy to keep clean and looks really sharp. Temperature controls actually work where in some other brands we have owned they were more like idiot gages, nonfunctional. We have owned it six years now and still loving it. Only thing I would change is the location of the water filter. Put it up top so an old man like me does not have to lay down to make the change.

After several service calls and repairs we gave up and stopped using that cycle as the issue could never be resolved. We only use the express cycle to avoid leakage. Worked that way for a year. We bought this at HHGregg in June 2015 for $2000. Thought it would be our last refrigerator. No such luck! Nine months after buying it, it started making loud noises and freezing up inside the back wall. For all practical purposes, their customer service is non existent! Got passed from one to the other, asking the same questions over and over, like the model #, serial #, etc. Asked irrelevant things like how many Samsung products we owned. Then said it probably wasnt level and to look under it! Totally insane! Got nowhere so called the store that sold it to us and they finally got in touch with a rep who set up the repair. Thought that was the end of it but three months later, around July 1st this year, the clanging noise returned and it wasnt cooling properly! Same problem with icing and fan. Now it is one month out of warranty! Called previous repair company and they couldnt come for over two weeks! Tried Angies List and Home Advisor. Got call backs but they stated outright that they wouldnt work on Samsung appliances because of shoddy workmanship and numerous problems! Finally got someone to look at it. He tested it and said two motherboards were burnt out, along with needing new fan, thermostats (plural), etc. Said parts come from overseas and could take months and it would be over $1000 to fix, with no guarantee it would last! We cant go without a refrigerator so ended up junking it and buying a new one. Not Samsung! Never again! So for 13 months, we had a pretty appliance that doesnt work! These obviously should have been recalled! Were back to the top freezer model, recommended by the repairman and this time bought a 4 year warranty. Its disgusting that they can sell such junk and are not stopped! It was an expensive $2100 mistake!

I usually never write online reviews but I feel compelled to warn anyone I can about Samsung and the junk appliances it produces. Ive had numerous experiences with Samsung Refrigerators, Dishwashers, etc. For one thing....their refrigerators have a known design defect which causes the evaporator coils to build up ice on them. Usually after approximately one year (after the warranty runs out) you will start hearing loud clicking/grinding noises from your freezer. This is the fan hitting the ice building up around the coils. You will then be forced to defrost the piece of junk with a hair dryer or just shut it off for 24 hours to defrost it. Samsung has known about this for years, yet it continues to produce junk appliances and will not stand behind them.

This is not the strangest thing, however. Ice accumulates in the vegetable bins. This seems impossible since there is no source of water - we have never hooked up a water line to the ice maker. About 3 1/2 hours into the process my husband and I noticed a very strong burning smell he thought smelled electrical or insulation. The ovens electronic control panel quit and the lock remains locked. I researching troubleshooting we found this is a complaint and the repair shop said it is a common issue that they repair frequently. We have not found out the costs to repair nor do we know the condition of the inside of the oven. This oven should be recalled as we have had sore throats since. We have found the costs to repair can be between $200 and $1100.

I had a very bad experience with the Samsung refrigerator. Within 3 years of time the compressor of the fridge conched out. We are in tremendous trouble currently. Its been 4 days and there has been no response from the company. They are just delaying it saying that the compressor is not available. I would suggest no one should buy Samsung refrigerators.

Purchased Samsung Oven (flex), Washer, Dryer, and Dishwasher. 11/24/2017. Washer completely died last March - unable to fix, wiring harness issue. This week Oven has taken on a life of its own - no matter what you push (including warming drawer) the broiler comes on. You’ll get a C21 overheat warning and door locks. Customer Service gave me the number of a phone repair company to call for repairs. I can promise you I will never purchase anything in future with Samsung on it - absolutely no quality.

Overall this Samsung Refrigerator isnt too bad. There could be an improvement in the shelving though. You have to maneuver your items under the shelves due to the metal bars underneath. It makes it frustrating to fit your items into the back. Also the ice machine needs some improvement as well. Sometimes it freezes up and wont make any ice cubes.

I will never buy a SAMSUNG appliance ever again. I purchased a refrigerator. So I wound up with a lemon. I have spoken to at least 6 or 7 different people the ones that have not resolved any of my issues with the fridge...I even asked to speak to a supervisor and they told me that there was no one available. My freezer was making a horrible sound and the refrigerator part is not cooling properly. I keep getting a run around and no one can give me a straight answer. It is horrible. I paid over a $1,000 for this not even a year ago. They are liars and rude and their customer service people dont know what the hell theyre doing. I hate them very BAD BAD BAD!!! We have had ongoing issues with this fridge since it was 13 months old. We are on the third icemaker and have had the latest motherboard fix installed on 6-12-20. We deal with a drippy ice and water dispenser, water under the crispers, and very inconsistent fridge and freezer temps. The fridge display will say 37° when the temp is actually anywhere between 38-58°. We have lost over $200 in food. I have personally endured an 8 hour online support chat, numerous phone calls, and emails to seek full compensation for this defective appliance so I may purchase a safe fridge. After posting an honest review on the Lowes website I was contacted by Samsung support and on 9-10-20 and Samsung emailed me paperwork offering me a refund of $2448.29 for my defective unsafe refrigerator. This refrigerator has been unsuccessfully repaired three times. We are using a mini fridge in our kitchen because the Samsungs inconsistent temps are not food safe. I completed the online refund paperwork & returned it electronically and mailed the actual paperwork via certified mail on 9-17. They contacted me 9-18 by text and have switched my refund amount to only $1530.18. This is not a warranty issue, this is a known design defective (since 2006) that Samsung continues to sell to unsuspecting customers. They appear to use unethical and fraudulent bait and switch tactics with customers.

There has been a class action suit filed against Samsung related to damages caused as a result of the poorly designed ice maker in side by side refrigerator/freezers and the resulting leaks. Repairs are now being made for free for some models made within specific dates. Our particular model is a part of the suit but not for the date on which ours was produced. However, the technician who came to make the repair stated that its the most common call he receives. Our ice maker leaks, the line freezes and the ice maker must constantly be reset. The ice maker must be totally replaced. No costs are covered so this is a $700.00 cost to us. This will be the last Samsung product that we purchase.

My Samsung refrigerator is just 1 year old and the technicians have visited almost every month due to one or the other problem. It started just over a month when I realized that any fruit or vegetable I kept outside the vegetable compartment had ice in it. Even the cooked vegetables if kept in the back of the shelf had ice in it. I kept on complaining this issue to Samsung Customer Service. Every time they will send a technician who will change the part and go. It was more of a pain as I couldnt use the fridge to full capacity. As instructed by technicians there were so many things which I shouldnt put in certain shelves or the size of boxes. I kept away leftovers or anything cooked/half cooked. I dont remember till date if I ever had to be so careful in using the refrigerator. I couldnt use half of the space in refrigerator fearing it will get spoiled. Not only that, my refrigerator stopped working completely 3 times in just a span of 1 year. Again they had to change the parts. I kept on calling them and asking them to change the refrigerator as it was giving me so many problems (not to forget just in 1 year- full warranty period) but they just turned deaf ear to my requests, even when I contacted their supervisor. Ill never ever recommend Samsung refrigerator to anyone after this experience. It looks like every time the warranty expires, Ill have to keep purchasing extended warranty and bear with the refrigerator. This Samsung product has been a big pain in the ass.

I have had the Samsung SMH8165ST microwave for just over 3 years now. Approximately 1 month ago, microwave started beeping, wouldnt shut off. I got the SE error code. Tried unplugging and recycling which did not work to clear the code. I checked online and found out it is a very common problem with these microwaves due to moisture. An over the stove microwave should be designed to handle being over the stove. I called Samsung regarding the issue. Initially they told me that I would have to pay for the repair and labor. I informed them of the hundreds of complaints online. They finally agreed to change out the control panel, saying they KNEW it was a problem, and that there was an extended warranty, should have said that upfront. They set me up with a service repair company. Of course they tell you they will call you the day of the appointment and let you know when they would be coming, took over a week. I took the day off from work not knowing what time the tech would arrive. Tech arrived to install the panel, they had ordered the wrong panel/part!!! No apology, nothing, like my time is of no value. Waited an additional week to have them return, same story with will call you the day of for the time of the appointment. Tech installed the panel, microwave worked for approximately one day, went to use last night, started, then went totally dead, no power, nothing!! I called Samsung and told them what had happened, they were of no assistance. Said because it is not indicating an SE error, that I will now have to pay for the parts and labor! Unbelievable! I own Samsung TVs and washer and dryer. Pray that they dont have a problem. I will NEVER purchase a Samsung product again. And I will never recommend a Samsung product to anyone!

This is a French door refrigerator, with a bottom freezer (and a drawer within a drawer), plus a middle drawer thats perfect for snacks or things you want often. Water and ice are in the door and the water filter is at waist level for easy changing. I think the refrigerator was thoughtfully designed to serve almost any need for food storage, easy access and easy cleaning. The only thing I might change is the amount of ice that this fridge makes, but that is a trade off for the slim design of the ice maker, allowing more door storage. I love this refrigerator! Whats not to like?!

I bought RF28HDEDBSR Samsung french door refrigerator in Nov 2014 from Home Depot Canada with ESP for 4 years. Come Feb 2017, the refrigerator started making annoying sounds, sometimes for the whole day. I requested a service under ESP with Comerco. Response I got that as long as the sound is not affecting the functionality of the unit, they cant fix it. Within a week or so the fridge stopped working (freezer part was fine). I filed another complaint to Comerco, the technician visited us and said a part needs to be replaced and it would take 1-2 weeks to come as it was back ordered. We were without the fridge for more than 2 weeks. Anyways, within 10 days or so the part was replaced and we were able to use the fridge. Like they say good times never last for long, it happened again. The refrigerator stopped working again in August 2017 (similar to the last time it started with the unit making loud noise). I called up Comerco again, this time I asked them to provide me a permanent solution to the problem. Its been more than a week now when we are without the fridge. According to comerco, it might take another 1-2 weeks to get it fixed as the part is back ordered (as usual). So big NO to the Samsung refrigerators. Problems with Home Depots extended service plan with comerco will be explained in a different review.

Samsung dishwasher is broken down again. DMR78AHS 3 years old. Immediately the plastic tabs for the upper rack adjuster broke off. This is a common problem and has happened 3 times. Warranty covered too. Once the tab jamming the pump causing error code LE. No warranty this time, $179 to fix. Next the door tension spring is attached with a nylon cord and runs over a plastic pulley. Cord broke, door came crashing down, another $179 labor and $20 parts for 2 cords. Today it will not turn on at all, no response from control pad. I guess another $179 down the drain. It washes so poorly that we only load it half full, plates in every other space and dont even think about putting dishes in without pre-rinsing. We are very disappointed in this appliance. We have spent the price of the washer in service calls. We filed a request with Samsung when the tab jammed the pump for reimbursement of the service call but were denied. We feel a class action suit is appropriate.

In March of 2015 my wife and I bought a Samsung 22.5 cu. ft French Door Refrigerator and the Samsung Protection Plus Plan. This refrigerators initial cost was $2,498.40 and the Protection Plus Plan cost was approximately $700. Beginning in late June 2017 the ice maker began to develop problems making ice cubes and finally just made watered slushy ice. I called the Samsung phone number listed on the Protection Plus contract 1-800-726-7864 and explained the problem. First problem was I could barely understand the staff person I was speaking to. Secondly I further explained I had the extended protection plan and needed service. I was given a repair ticket number and told I would be contacted within 48 hours. I received a call from a service company that Samsung contacted and was told there was a charge to come out and then additionally a charge for the repair. I was told their company did not accept the Samsung Protection Plan and to call Samsung back. It should be noted in my area there are VERY few repair companies that accept the Samsung Protection Plus Plan or even want to service their refrigerators. I was told by a repairman parts are very difficult to get. Subsequently I once again called Samsung and once again explained I need my refrigerator serviced under the Protection Plan. I will not go into detail of how many times I had to call Samsung which took a month to finally get the refrigerator supposedly repaired in late July 2017. However, even after the service repair the ice maker still does not function properly. It is now early August 2017 and I once again called Samsung and explained to their staff the ice maker still is not working properly. I once again was given a repair ticket number and once again was contacted by the same company that wanted to charge for a service call. I did some research and found the phone number to Samsung Protection Plus Tech Support. I called that number and explained the problem and am still awaiting a call from the company that performed the last service repair. In conclusion, I would NEVER BUY ANY SAMSUNG APPLIANCE having experienced firsthand the quality of their product. Additionally, their Samsung Protection Plus Plan is a serious JOKE and is a total waste of money. I plan on submitting for a refund of the money we paid for the protection plan which is possible per information within the contract.

My wife and I live in Everett, Pa. We had purchased two Samsung products from Lowes, a microwave model SMH 9187 ST and a top of the line Stainless French door fridge, in Altoona, Pa. After a short period the ice maker light would not reset on the fridge for which we paid for an extended warranty. After calling Lowe’s we were told we live outside the 50 mile radius for service. After calling Samsung we’re told there was no one in the area to service the unit. The only option was to replace the fridge with a new one to solve the minor problem. DUH! After days I finally got it to reset. Another problem was we had water leaking from the ice maker unit. Again no service was available. It seems I had replaced the filter unit made by Samsung made in Korea and it was defective. I found this out after driving 100 miles round trip to try another unit. If I did not have some technical skills for repair I would have been out of luck. Our microwave failed showing the code SE. Again I could not get service and was told by Samsung it was still in warranty. After many calls they referred the problem to a BGH Electronics in Cumberland Maryland. After 9 days waiting for a call I found out the repair was canceled. I suspect they did not want to drive the 2 hours round trip. I again got back with Samsung and now was told the unit was NOT in warranty and I was on my own to get it repaired. Fortunately I found that this unit has a design flaw where steam from the stove will corrode the contacts in the control panel. A simple video on YouTube shows how to clean the contacts and after that the unit works fine. I am not happy with Lowe’s in Altoona, Pa selling Samsung products to folks outside the 50 mile area that cannot get service. I will buy appliances from local stores that can provide service if needed and it will not be a Samsung product.

The technician came and change everything in the freezer compartment. Today, a year later the fridge compartment does not work. I called Samsung and because the warranty expired they offer me an ONE-time warranty to fix the problem. Honestly, I think this problem is going to continue until a get ready of this refrigerator and buy a new one which by the way I still owe money to Brandsmart. I read a lot of this on the internet and there are thousands of people with the same problem. It looks like Samsung is making disposable refrigerators that last less than a year before they broke out. I am a single mother and this is not fair. I purchased my Samsung French door refrigerator, model RF26HF, December of 2014. From the start the fridge was louder than my old one. Shortly after that the ice machine was producing ice at a very slow rate and is currently making ice when it wants too. We have also encountered a flap misalignment on one of the French doors. Currently, August 20, 2016, I found a pool of water at the base of my fridge, underneath the food storage bins. When I removed the storage bins I discovered a thick piece of ice the width of the base of the fridge. I also saw water dripping from the twin cooling back panel as well as coming out from the base of the door. As figured I was over my one year warranty and Samsung needed to charge me to look at the problem.Samsung did try to blame it on a filter issue and then a humidity issue, which is neither the problem. Samsung left me with no resolution and stated a technician needed to be called in to determine the exact issue. I was not given a price because that couldnt be determined until a ticket was created. After hearing this ridiculous news, I have had enough with Samsung. After reading many many poor and similar issues with this specific refrigerator Samsung needs to acknowledge a true manufacturing problem thats affecting many families. At this point with everyone having the same issue there should be a recall in place. I will never buy a Samsung product ever again!

We dont use that much ice. The service man said it would take 7 days for part and I would have to turn off refrigerator and leave door open for 24 hours. Well 3 weeks later no call. He was late the first appointment. I had to call Samsung so they could find out if he was coming. I asked him how to take the glass out to clean. He said he wouldnt because it would break. So I called Samsung again and said I cant ever clean my refrigerator. After a long wait and them trying to figure it out and talking to supervisor they said they would send me an email with pictures and instructions how to remove without breaking. They said the insurance would cover drawer but not glass. So waited for email and of course never got it. So after 3 holidays with no ice maker I will call Samsung again. Still cant clean all of it. Whenever we were in the market to replace our appliances, I always looked to Samsung first. We have 4 Samsung TVs, a refrigerator, 4 smartphones, Blu-Ray player and a washing machine and we love them all. That was until I had the misfortune of purchasing an over the range microwave. Here youve read all the stories about these microwaves and their failure on sensor errors just after the warranty expires. Its a poorly designed product that fails due to the humidity created when cooking on the stove. The only thing worse than the design of the product is Samsungs support for this inferior product.I havent replaced the unit yet because Im afraid the next unit I purchase (Hint: not a Samsung product) will encounter the same problems. Im entirely appalled at the prospect of my 4-year old, my 7-year old, and I drinking ice water that has plastic and metal particles and pieces in it. At this point, I am not even sure how long we have been drinking contaminated product. My refrigerator is right around 3.5 years old, so it is not under parts warranty any longer, but I am confused as to why there hasnt been a recall on these icemakers? Another consumers review fits my situation exactly besides the timeline of events. I would also like to know the composition of the materials that were being sloughed off into our drinks. I just found this problem today and Samsung Customer Service is trying to make me buy new parts and pay for installation. My main concern is for my health and the health of other consumers, and in my opinion, there needs to be a recall for these ice makers and some sort of compensation due. Not just a, Well, your warranty is up, so here pay more money for some parts that probably wont fix the issue. No thank you. I have included my own photos of the plastic shaving and plastic/metal particles.

Purchased over $5,000 worth of Samsung appliances for my new house - BIG mistake. 2 years in and the ice maker on the refrigerator breaks - $325 to have it fixed. Samsung offered nothing - customer service was horrible. The fan in the oven was the next to go. Again horrible customer service and Samsung offered no help. DO NOT buy Samsung Appliances!!!

This Samsung Ref. RSA1NTIS 19.4 CU FT we bought 9/30/2012 at SM Appliance Center NE-The Block broke down even before it reached 1 year. Defrosting in a day or 2 after its plugged in. It has been out of order since Oct 2013 up to this day. Countless of frozen goods spoiled every time the service technician plugs it & claims the parts are good. Parts replaced, repaired repeatedly, technician even asked us to buy gadget to guard power fluctuations but to no avail. Been servicing the unit for almost 7 months & technicians says its functioning okay. I bought a ref/freezer. But its not freezing even when set to power freeze.Lost track of the countless times we called up the Service Center, Samsung main office & SM Appliance NE-The Block, not to mention my personal appearances to personally lodge my complaints, but until now Samsung Ref. remains a trash. The floodings in our floor after sometime every time it is plugged, the money put to waste for spoiled foods, the days I have to go on leave or the days my nephew have to absent himself from school waiting for the technician to come, the emotional stress this ref. had brought the entire family esp. to me & my husband abroad who had been helping me to call Samsung, these among other things brought nightmare to our otherwise peaceful living. No functional ref. for 7 months & counting...

Samsung top freezer RT21M62135R, nominally 21 cubic feet, is fairly capacious. Unfortunately the lighting in the refrigerator section is front mounted and everything in the rear disappears into the shadows - keep a flashlight handy. The freezer also has a light, something my prior refrigerator did not have. I really like the slide and reach shelf for deli type items - very convenient. The door storage is a bit inflexible. I ordered the model without an ice maker, they shipped it to me anyway despite my attempt to stop it, which they ignored (customer service in the US is impossible to contact - they switched me to Indonesia (sic)! (Consider that I bought this model for energy efficiency, then they ship something I do not want - pure waste.) Even though they took the door off, the delivery service still managed to put eight dents in the door - too easy to dent.

They immediately said its physical damage and it is not covered under warranty. I tried explain that we didnt drop or intentionally break it - customer service just says its not covered. Ice maker in fridge circuit board shorted out and caused house fire. Lost everything in my home. Samsung rep came and investigated and took ice maker from fridge and said not the cause! Fire marshal reports said ice maker was cause. A service tech also said cause was fridge! You should Google Samsung icemaker fires and watch all the complaints.

I purchased a Samsung Model # RF28HDEDBSER (with French doors and freezer on the bottom) from Lowes about two years ago for about $3,000. After a year the iced maker broke down and we no longer have ice, it also makes a grinding noise. Now about 6 months later the refrigerator is barely cold enough to keep our food cold and the digital feature is malfunctioning and shows that it does not maintain a proper temperature; it keeps shutting off. We are very disappointed in this product, so we were not surprised now to discover many complaints with the same issues.Just filed a complaint on the Samsung website but do not expect them to respond, they said they would respond but kept me waiting in the chat for more than 10 minutes. Please do not buy their refrigerators they are not worth it and the honorable thing would be for them to replace a refrigerator that we expected to function for at least 5 years. It also makes me wonder about the quality of their other products. We dont have $3,000 just to buy refrigerators.
