Samsung Refrigerator Model RF18A5101SR
Bottom of oven blistered and flaked off in less than 90 days. When I contacted Samsung for warranty work, they wanted to charge me as they consider this cosmetic damage. How do classify the failure of your enamel bond as cosmetic damage? Samsung is living down to its diminishing reputation. I will never buy another Samsung product.
I had the vent fan working on my microwave (which is an above range microwave) because I had a stew pot cooking on the range. Supposedly this will help keep condensation down. When I went to check my pot on the range the fan on the microwave had quit and I was getting a code 5 E on the display. I have since learned code 5 E means the keyboard on the microwave has quit due to condensation in the wiring of the microwave. My question to Samsung is...why didnt you take care of this problem before selling me an above range microwave? Did you think through the problem of condensation? Very disappointed in SAMSUNG.
I have purchased four Samsung appliances within the last four years, and three needed repairs. Microwave, purchased a year and 1/2 ago, needed new keypad which cost $160 repair. My French door refrigerator, purchased four years ago, needed new rear panel and defrost sensor/water build up under deli drawer. This is a common problem we find out. This cost us $185.50 in repair. Front loading washer, purchased three years ago, needed new bellow with repair cost of $137.21. Im very disappointed in Samsung products. I would like someone from Samsung to contact me if there is something they can do to help absorb some of these costs. Do you stand behind your product? I will be building a new home in the near future and will not be considering Samsung appliances.
We purchased the Samsung SMH9187ST microwave OTR from Best Buy in early 2010. This unit was one of the top-rated OTR microwaves on Consumer Reports. The oven has been very lightly used as we have a second microwave in the kitchen (a Sharp which is over 7 years old). Anyhow, 29 months after purchasing the Samsung, the keypad is showing the SE code and is basically unusable. As others have experienced, this is a known defect that Samsung should take care of but wont. I will be sadly buying another brand to replace this nice looking junk, but I would eagerly participate in a class action lawsuit against Samsung!
We just bought new Samsung appliances from Nebraska Furniture Mart. Weve had them for 1 month. Last week, the fan on the microwave started coming on by itself. After reading these reviews, I dont even want these appliances. SMSGA-ME18H704SFS/AA-Otr Micro 1.8 Cu.
Two weeks ago we bought a Samsung DW80H933US dishwasher, the highest end model that Home Depot sold in our area. Two weeks ago. 14 days. Tonight it stopped with error code LE. Looked it up, it says theres a leak. We looked everywhere, it is not leaking. There is no way to clear this error code. We have to cut the power to the machine and request service. This is after TWO WEEKS. Did I mention that? I wish Id done some reading up on Samsungs dishwasher before we bought it. Fortunately (I suppose), we purchased a 4-year extended warranty, so that over the next five years we wont have to pay for the monthly repairs. Two weeks in I am also concerned that the door seems to resist closing for no apparent reason either. These seem to be really, really common complaints. What a piece of expensive junk. Well see how much Home Depot cares about their customers tomorrow when I go in.
We bought the unit last mid-2012. But now, its not cooling enough. I noticed, ice is building up at the back of the panel (located inside the fridge). RS265TDRS.
We bought a very nice, at least thats what we thought anyway at the time, Samsung Model RF4289HARS French door refrigerator from Home Depot in December of 2011. The ice maker took forever to make ice and it had very little storage. We ran out of ice all of the time and there was only two of us using it. In February of 2014 the ice machine stopped working completely. We had a service man come out and replace the entire front computer portion of the refrigerator that the ice maker was a part of. The cost to replace it was $863.58. Yes, thats right. $863.58 cost to repair an ice maker that was 3 years and 2 months old. Well, guess what. Here it is December of 2017 and the same thing has occurred. No ice maker. Broken again after just 3 years and 9 months after replacing an $863.58 part. Samsung makes a good TV. Their refrigerators are extremely pricing and break down every three years. Never buy a Samsung refrigerator. Buy a good old made in the USA refrigerator that will probably outlive you. Thanks for nothing Samsung.
I bought Samsung dishwasher, Model# DWF600UTW/AA. While still it is under warranty service, there was a problem with run ending in the middle and light started flashing. I called for service. The service person pulled out the dishwasher, and pushed it back very hard. When he left, I started the run, and dishwasher leaked all over and water puddled in the basement. There was not just the damage in the basement, but I had to re-install the dishwasher again with my own money. I never had leak before, the service person caused it, and Samsung doesnt want to pay the damages. The standard answer is, warranty is on the equipment parts and not the installation. Although their service person caused it! Another thing, if there is a damage-claim, Samsung transfers you to corporate affairs. They make you wait on the phone for hours! I strongly will advice anyone, not to buy their equipment, because if something goes wrong, this company doesnt take the responsibility. Neither they have a good warranty service.
We purchased a Samsung Kitchen Suite of appliances and we could not be more disappointed in the purchase. The dishwasher smells rancid even after they came back and fixed it, it is starting to rust despite being Stainless Steel, The range turns off every so often for no apparent reason and now the ice maker for our refrigerator has stopped working. Samsung support is terrible. The appliances are less than 1 year old. I will never purchase another Samsung appliance ever again. They are poor quality and have given us nothing but problems.
Ever since we bought the fridge it does not COOL properly, especially during the summer. We purchased the fridge in 2013. We’ve replaced several parts since then. Its hard to get a hold of someone from customer service. We are extremely upset because we spent $2,000 for a fridge that doesnt work & for that price we expect it to work properly. We also bought a used fridge for $175 & it works better than the darn Samsung. (>﹏
Beware of this company... I purchased an expensive Samsung glass top slide in electric range model #NE58F9500SS/AA from Best Buy in Aug 2016. In Apr 2018 the left front inside burner stopped working and the oven quit working at the same time. This range, built by a 3rd rate country is a PIECE OF JUNK!
Purchased four new stainless steel appliances together in 2013 one being the Samsung french door refrigerator. I was warned about this from a few of my friends as they made that mistake and had extensive problems with ice maker and water dispenser. Despite their warnings, I bought one anyway believing theirs were non-typical occurrences and ours would be fine based on how much they cost. In less than a year, the ice maker failed and refused to work at all - had worked intermittently prior to then, but I chipped ice off the auger thinking that was just a fluke. Unfortunately, I did not feel like spending an additional $350 for more coverage on a brand new item and trusted it would last longer, so we go without ice.Next, loud noise coming from a fan which worsened over less than two weeks, then stopped altogether. Now fridge at 45 deg and warm items, primarily noticeable with the milk. Secondly, under normal use, the door flapper between the doors failed and has to be held with a hand to shut! Finally bit the bullet and called Sears where we purchased it and scheduled service. After trying to sell us a monthly service agreement for all appliances promising 50% off if we signed, I opted for just the repair which was an apparent plugged auto defrost drain hose which caused ice to build up around fan and fails to permit cooling. $500 + dollars later they have parts on order with a repair date of 12/10. All this for a NEW fridge. Samsung sucks and I regret selling the old reliable simple fridge that came with the house and was already 10+ years old at least!! I will definitely deter anyone from buying Samsung refrigerators when I can - garbage and I truly believe are built to fail which guarantees more money for their parts (job security) and their retailer for service costs - in this case Sears. BUYER BEWARE - DO NOT PURCHASE SAMSUNG!!!
This fridge worked fine for about 2 years then something went haywire. It took Sears five trips to finally send a repair tech who was competent to properly diagnose the problem. The first tech diagnosed the (wrong) problem and charged me $357. That didnt fix it, so a new tech showed up and made a new diagnosis, and ordered another part. It was the wrong part, so another part had to be ordered. In the meantime, I dont have a working refrigerator so bought a 30-year-old $85 beater that does work. Luckily there was room to set it up in the dining area. Sears sent a third tech who said the initial diagnosis was wrong so ordered a new part -- but this tech then said he wouldnt plug the fridge back in because the outlet wasnt grounded. I called an electrician who charged me $75 to say yes it is grounded (which I was pretty sure was the case). Finally a tech showed up and properly diagnosed the problem, at the cost of $272. The tech said Sears would credit my credit card $85 for the difference between the right and wrong parts. Sears has not billed me for the $272 but they also have not refunded me the $85 for the overcharge. I have called them also asking to be reimbursed for these items: the $85 fridge I was forced to buy due to their technicians continued incompetence, $75 for the unneeded electrician service call, $100 that I felt obliged to offer the tenants living in the house to take off their rent because this entire process took two months to find a competent Sears service tech. I will never again buy an appliance from Sears and sure as heck wont call them to service this fridge the next time it has a problem (and Im keeping the $85 beater in the garage just in case).
Samsung side-by-side refrigerator compressor burnt out only after 7 years. I still have my old refrigerator in my garage that still works after 14 years. I cant believe a cheap refrigerator can last longer than a Samsung refrigerator (it cost me $2,400). I called the service center and they told me that the warranty was only for 5 years. I will never buy Samsung products.
I will NEVER purchase any Samsung products ever again. I will also let everyone I know to never purchase Samsung products. I purchased a Samsung refrigerator one year and almost a month ago. The refrigerator has completely stopped working because Samsung put a faulty part in the fridge. They will not do anything to help me or fix this problem because the warranty is one year and it has been 22 DAYS past the warranty. Samsung has told me I will have to pay $160 just to look at the refrigerator + parts which they would not disclaim to me an estimate of how much the part could cost. I had a technician (not from Samsung) come out and look at the fridge prior to calling Samsung and they saw that Samsung had put in a cord that was supposed to have 3 prongs but was broken and only had 2 prongs. They informed me that they could replace the part which would be at least $250 dollars. However that still will not guarantee if the refrigerator will still work because the faulty part might of completely damaged the fridge for good. The technician informed me that I was lucky because the refrigerator could have completely blown up due to the faulty part. I called Samsung after I had learned what the issue was and they would not do anything about it unless I paid for them to fix the fridge and they did not guarantee that even after paying that if the fridge still does not work that they would do anything about it. They basically told me that I would have to keep paying more money to get it fixed because the warranty was up 22 days ago and it is now no longer their fault. What company puts a BROKEN part into an expensive and large purchase putting a household family in danger and then doesnt own up to it nor replace the part?! This is the worst customer service I have ever received my whole life and I am 55 years old and have owned many homes and many appliances in my lifetime. Samsung makes faulty products that are a danger to the consumer and then charges the consumer ridiculous amounts of money to fix it. What a greedy, dishonest, unreliable and manipulative company. Do NOT buy a refrigerator from them!!!!
I too bought a samsung dishwasher, 15 months in, it stopped washing, out of warranty, so I paid out of pocket for repairs. Then bought extended warranty, as offered by samsung. 2 months later, I needed to use. Spent 9 hrs over 2 weeks and 22 people later, no one wants to send a repair tech! Do NOT buy samsung, the warranty is bogus and the run around will give you a stroke!!
Samsung smh9187st - Building a new house and having an old Emerson counter microwave, I put in the Samsung consumer report highly rated at the time in to find out the Samsung company does not even stand behind its products. For three years after installing it I did not use it since my Emerson worked fine. After the birth of my twins I started using it (16 months ago). First the door latch broke, no problem. I just fixed it. Next dreaded SE code put card board in between ribbon. Okay back in service. Yesterday while heating water for warming of twins milk, thing dies completely. Thank you Emerson at least your product is still working after more than ten years. After reading all I have on this issue Samsung products will not be bought by me ever again.
I bought a Samsung dishwasher about 2 years ago. I paid over $450 for it and did not buy the warranty. Buyer beware... The smart auto light came on and the unit wont complete a cycle. Im a single father of 3 and need all the help I can get. I called Samsung and they were happy to send a service guy out for me to pay to fix it. Id rather catch my ** in the ringer than pay them money for a product that lasted two years. I will save my pennies and put them towards a company that has a better track record.
DO NOT BUY Samsung French Door fridges! I have almost $3000 invested in a fridge that gave little, annoying problems at first, but as soon as the VERY SHORT warranty was up, the ice maker problems got worse and worse... Dripping water out of the ice maker flapper door, slushy ice cubes, ice dams in the ice maker itself, taking 1 minute or so to drop out 3-5 ice cubes, odd noises, not making ice at all... You name it.I tried to get a repairman, but no one returned my calls--then I discovered from several local sellers of the Samsung French door fridges, that there are so many problems with them, that repairmen dont want to repair them at all--knowing they will never solve their clients problems. The repairmen might take the call IF the unit is still on warranty, simply because they know theyll get more and more repair calls--all paid by Samsung. Once the warranty is gone, they dont want to deal with Samsung units.Consider this: I have a new millennium fridge and I make ice the way my Mom did in the 1950s--with ice cube trays! I think these units should be recalled--these are major expenses for a family--just like buying a car that is unsafe or poorly designed--or is an outright Lemon. Samsungs reply to me was a boilerplate letter with links pasted in to their WELL KNOWN repair bulletins... Each one I had already known about and tried! Then they linked to how to get a repair ticket started, but then repeated their warranty rules. Samsung customer satisfaction? Rate that at ZERO. If you know anyone considering one of these Samsung units, steer them away--- SHARE this post. PLEASE SHARE!
RF25HM FREEZER DOES NOT FREEZE! We purchased a Samsung in July 2015. In March of this year the drawer freezer stopped working, as did the ice maker. Set up an appointment for them to come out to diagnose the problem. The service tech was here yesterday and did an excellent job of troubleshooting the problem. He thought it would be a simple part replacement (circuit board). As it turned out, it was a sealed unit problem and it would be very expensive. The refrigerator still cools, just not the freezer. He explained that the freezer and refer share the same compressor, the part that operates the freezer was clogged or not functioning properly. I assume there is a valve of sorts that changes from refer to freezer when necessary. In essence, I am saying that Samsung is junk. DO NOT BUY! They should stick to cell phones and tablets. We have a Samsung Smart TV that we wish we hadnt purchased too! The frustrating part is that it was just over the warranty period. I am certain that I am not alone in this, when you pay over $2000 for a refrigerator it should last longer than just under 4 years!
Purchased Samsung microwave model #ME20H705MSS. Quit working shortly after the one year warranty and Samsung would not honor the warranty. Samsung sells junk. Do not buy their products! Unfortunately every appliance in our house is Samsung including our television, makes me wonder what will break next? Save yourself some money and time dont buy Samsung.
Paid for a Samsung Refrigerator. Picked it up from the retailing Store 3 months later. I was given a Pickup invoice on which the Retailer indicated the date of sale and the date of pickup. However, the unit developed some problems. I called Samsung (Manufacturer Warranty). They insisted that it was over one year I paid for the unit and as such was out of warranty. I went to the Retailer who gave me a letter and also wrote Samsung to clear the air on this issue. The letter clearly outlined the day I reserved the unit and the day I picked it up and asked Samsung to extend to me the warranty from the date I picked up the refrigerator.Every time I contacted Samsung, the customer service agents claim they never received the letter from the Retailer. I had to send it to them again and again and again. Ive done this over 6 times. They always claim they never received it and as such would not authorize a repair of my refrigerator. I am tired of all these and intend to look for a repair technician who will repair it. I will then go to Small Claims court to file a claim against Samsung for the repair and loss of use of my refrigerator including costs of damaged foods. I called the Customer Service once again for their mailing address to send them the court papers. The agent I spoke to refused giving it to me. Said I should email it. How can I email the original court papers? Even if I can, to an email address they never admit to receiving my emails at? Finally, I will quit patronizing SAMSUNG products!
AVOID SAMSUNG FRIDGE... Purchased my fridge 3.5 yrs ago. I did purchase the extended warranty from Home Depot for 3 yrs. The fridge failed four times in each of those three years due to multiple part failures. Lost all food every time. Now at 3.5 years the ice maker and twin cooling fan failed due to known problems of this freezing up. Ice make jambs in the back and freezes. Cooling fan has ice buildup around it and stops pushing air into the fridge to keep food cooled. Have to take apart and melt ice manually every 3-6 weeks. Temp on outside of door still shows its cold inside but it is not. Buy a separate fridge thermometer for inside. I dont know why Samsung has not been sued. Need a class action lawsuit against this manufacturer. Fed up and going to sell this fridge and buy another brand.
Ihe ices maker doesnt defrost. Must help defrost for a few years now and now the refrigerator wont stay. Have to use a hair to melt ice in the refrigerator to melt because cant gets cover off. Waiting on a reply from Samsung. Got my reply they want me to pay for someone to come out and look at it at my cost.
The RS265TDRS/XAC is our second refrigerator in 5 years. We thought we just had a bad unit and should never have bought another Samsung... Absolute junk. On our third evap fan because of freezing issues. We are also on our second dishwasher from Samsung... I would give them 0 stars if I could. No support of any kind. If only they made appliances as well as their cellphones.
So I purchase 2 Samsung smooth top convection ovens July 27th 2017 for a small in home commercial kitchen. The use of these ovens would not exceed what any normal home would do in a year as my business is somewhat seasonal and a very small operation. In June of 2019 I noticed one of them not holding its temperature. It would be set at 350 and would actually be 405, or 215. I had a repair tech come out and after trying else we replaced the main brain. This sadly did not fix the issue. Then in August the other oven started doing the same thing. After exhausting every fix the repair technician said that there is nothing else to replace so maybe call Samsung and ask them to do something. After three months of being told they will get back to me with a resolution not once did they contact me back, as promised, until I got cross with them and demanded some kind of answer. Well there out is my little operation! I was told that even one week of use in a commercial setting voids all warranty and that I would have to just get them fixed. HOW!!!! The Samsung repair technician has already tried replacing everything. Never buy Samsung appliances. Just sayin.
I am having the same freezer issue with my 2 1/2 year old Samsung refrigerator! This is ridiculous! I replaced my 14 year old GE Profile refrigerator with this one! I never had an issue with my GE and Ive had nothing but issues with my Samsung appliances. A couple of months ago, the dryer had an electrical (NOT lint) fire so I had to buy another dryer and chose to replace my Samsung washer same time...and they were only 4 years old. I called customer service and she asked Anyone hurt or was there property damage? When I said no, thankfully I was at home and unplugged it before the fire trucks got there... she said... sorry. Your 4 year old dryer is out of warranty! She wanted to document any damage in case there would be a lawsuit. I dont care if its out of warranty or not... NO appliance should catch on fire. I dont care how old it is! Now... my freezer is not working and I lost all my frozen food. I called Samsung last night when I discovered it and she tried a couple of things with me then referred me to a dealer that is 2 hours away! They need to own it and take responsibility by providing recalls/repairs. I will never buy another Samsung appliance again! Samsung does NOT stand by their products. Period.
$800 Samsung dishwasher leaked within the first few months. Tech never could fully resolve the issue. We purchased the nearly $200 extended warranty because we knew it was junk. 14 months in LE code and leaking again. Call Samsung warranty dept. and they send it out for repairs. Repair company calls to verify that we know its out of warranty. We so know, its extended. They say that they dont do extended warranty work. Call Samsung back and they so, Oh, you have to call this number for extended warranty claims. I say, That is the very number I called and go you. They transfer me and I give them all of the data again (model number, warranty number, etc.) This person says, Oh, you need extended warranty and proceeds to give me the number I first called.I called the number that apparently sends you to a bunch of sadists claiming to be Samsung and give them the whole spiel again. They ask for all of the data again and then to my horror tell me to call the same number I used to call them again. Finally after much pleading they say they made an appointment with a service company. One day later service company calls to verify that this is a non-warranty service call. Very nice lady at service company says that this literally happens all day with Samsung and that shes very sorry, but doubts they will ever send over the proper reference number for it to be covered under its extended warranty.I call Samsung again and explain the situation and I swear on the entire universe they tell me once again that I must call the very number I just called to be currently speaking to them. They then give me the standard warranty number that they had given me previously and was then told by them to call the number I had just used once again. I finally get a supervisor and beg them just to admit that they are going to scam me until Ive gone crazy and to please, as another human being just admit it so I can move on and just write off the $1000 as a lesson learned.Nope, this physical manifestation of evil known as the Samsung CSR Supervisor then proceeds to tell me that they are giving me the Top Secret number that will literally get people jumping on my warranty needs. I believe this is the number Obama would call should his dishwasher quit working. I kid you not, he reads off the exact same 800 number I used to call them all of the times in the past. I had no response as I believe I had a small aneurysm and fell to the floor.I keep the evil little stainless steel monster in the garage for the day that I see Samsung have an event at Lowes or Best Buy with reps in attendance in their bright blue Samsung Polos. I am going to wheel it in and smash its evil, water pumping (although most is pumped out of the bottom of the washer) heart right in front of them.
After 7 months of having a new Samsung refrigerator in black stainless the finish began chipping. When I called Samsung they said it was not covered under warranty. Agreed, but this should not be a conversation I had to have. They are not willing to stand by their product or their customers. They told me I could pay to have it repaired. Will never buy Samsung again!!!
I and my family are extremely disappointed with a Samsung product (DMR78 Dishwasher). We bought it three years ago and it already stopped working. When asked for support, I was told that a defective part will be provided under warranty, but I should pay for labor to install it. On top of labor, Samsung wants to charge $100 for a service call. This is really bad! This is Samsungs fault, that a relatively new product stopped working (an old GE model worked in our kitchen for 10+ years without a glitch, before we replaced it with DMR). Now, Samsung wants to charge this ridiculous service call charge of $100 on top of the $80 for labor? The total $180 fee for our choice of this product? That’s a very disappointing way to treat your customers, Samsung USA!
We bought a DD68-00143A_MES about 6 months ago. Since day one we noticed that it simply did not work as well as our old one (was not a Samsung) we had for over 10 years. At first I thought we were just not loading the dishes correctly because they were not clean. So for several weeks we tried to move dishes all over the place and nothing helped. Then we thought maybe it was the dishwasher detergent (even though we had used it for years with no problems, I thought maybe they changed the formula without us knowing it) so we tried all kinds of detergents and nothing helped! So as many of you that have complaints about the washer being the worst ever, I tend to agree. Other things we have noticed is there is this smell that comes from it. At first I thought it was our hard water (we are on rural water) but then I read some other peoples comments and see its not only us that noticed it. We have also noticed that many dishes are stained with something and we cannot remove the stain no matter how we try! Another thing is that I do not think the person that designed (its a laugh to even think someone would really use the word designed) the racks to hold the dishes has ever washed a dish in their life! NOTHING FITS! Its a chore to try and find places to put the dishes to wash them. One last thing. As like most of you we have come to the same conclusion that we will never buy Samsung again! I am however a little different than most of you. I own a lot of rental properties, and I bet you can guess the type of dishwasher that will NEVER BE PUT IN MY HOUSE OR MY RENTAL PROPERTIES! EVER!
My microwave (a few years old) model SMH 9187 ST has gotten the SE Error. I chatted with a Samsung rep today and they are covering my issue free of charge. I took a pleasant approach with them, gave them my model and serial number and viola, they will be covering my repair of new circuit board. The equipment definitely has issues but in my case Samsung is standing behind their product.
Purchased a brand new Samsung counter depth fridge. Ice maker continued to freeze up and eventually was unable to make ice. After two repair visits ($180) from the local company I purchased it from (someone I had dealt with for years and was an authorized dealer) I decided to call Samsung. After a few hours of problem determination (including defrosting the unit again and chipping away the ice) the issue was considered corrected. Of course a month later same issue - contacted service again and they scheduled a service call. The service tech was there 30 seconds and knew exactly what the problem was. There is a significant gap between the inside wall and ice maker allowing air into the unit. Very obviously a manufacturer defect and one they had seen many times before.I contacted Samsung service again - explaining the issue and requesting to be reimbursed for my third service call (Im now up to $270 on a 2 1/2 year old unit that I paid $3500 for) and was not very politely told the unit was out of service, it was not a known defect, and they would not reimburse my service call. Sad but true, worst part is they would not own up to the defect, although the tech told me they are required to report their repair fixes which they have done many on these units. They even carry a special tube of caulking with them just for these units. Good luck buying one - last Samsung product I will ever purchase!
I purchased my microwave in 2010 Serial # J4LVMOSC00753V. After about 2 years I got the infamous 5E error. I found information on the internet as to how to repair it myself. When I opened the front of the unit to access the inside of the control panel, I found that the hot wire connector was melted. I must have been very close to a fire! I replaced the connector and dried the wires to correct the 5E error. The 5E error reappeared again after a few months. I again dried the wires. To keep the story short, the 5E error appeared more and more frequently, until finally it was happening weekly. The unit is now waiting for the junk man to collect it.
We paid approximately $2000 in 2013 for a Samsung fridge and have had issues with the ice maker getting jammed frequently, the box holding the ice getting locked/jammed, the ice maker not making ice, and now rusting below the corner of the water tray. We were good about keeping the water tray dry and clean even, but I see it doesnt make much of a difference! Uhg, very disappointed and disgusted. We will not be purchasing Samsung again and will be sharing our situation with all. We wish Samsung would step up and fix the problem so we can share they at least fixed the situation... The number on the inside of our freezer door is DA99-02321A. The model name is RS265TDWP and was manufactured in November 2012.
I, like everyone else, got the Samsung SE error out of nowhere, at around 18 months after purchase. I read all these reviews today and was about to go shopping to replace my SMH9187ST microwave. After power cycling it, the SE error would come back between two minutes and immediately. So far, after I did what I did, it hasnt happened in 8 hours. So here is what I did. Hopefully this will work for someone else. All you need is a Philips-head screwdriver and I didnt even have to remove the microwave from where it was mounted.Take out the top two screws. They fasten the top front vent grill to the microwave. To remove the vent grill, simply slide it to the left and pull out. Now when that is removed, you now have access to the one Phillips-head screw that holds on the dreaded keypad on the right of the microwave. Remove that screw. Then, slide the keypad assembly up and wiggle left and right to slide the fingers that hold it on to the microwave free from the slots they are in. Now once that is free, you can pull it out and see the few connectors that connect the keypad to the rest of the microwave. There is a white connector and a blue connector towards the bottom of the back of the keypad assembly. I simply reseated those connectors. Meaning, I unplugged them then plugged them back in making sure they were snug. The blue connector seemed to be a little loose when I went to reseat it. Im thinking maybe it had backed its way out somehow and was causing a bad connection, therefore giving me the SE error. But thats it. Line up the keypad assembly fingers back up with their proper slots and slide it down, therefore lining up the screw hole on the keypad assembly with the screw hole on the microwave and put that screw back in. Then slide the top front vent grill back on from left to right after lining up the little fingers with the slots they fit in. Then screw back in those two screws that hold the grill on. My beeping that was happening has now stopped and Ive microwaved a few things since. It took me no more than five minutes to figure out how to open it up, reseat the connectors, and put it back together. So far, problem seems solved!
What can you say about this tv that hasn't already been said in the previous reviews. I had the choice between buying an additional boxcar on my private train and this tv and made the right decision! I'll probably buy the boxcar next week, or maybe a new train entirely, but I digress. The tv is truly breathtaking and after my hired help had it working, my monocle fell right off my face and would have shattered had I not been able to catch it in my top hat before it fell to the ground. If you have a few extra pounds in your trust fund, have your closest man-servant make the purchase and thank me later!
The top rack has a section that is corroding and rusting. The dishwasher is just one year old. Customer service claims it is physical damage and they will not replace the rack. We put cups on the rack so that clearly could not be physical damage to cause corrosion and rust. Their products are junk. Do not buy Samsung. They are cheap products and they have terrible customer service.
Buyer Beware! Samsung Refrigerator side by side w/ bottom freezer. Ice Maker hasnt worked correctly from day one. Never repaired, has always leaked at dispenser, ice maker freezes up, no ice. Called Samsung and now its out of warranty. Should have been a National Recall on this product. Look at all the Negative Reviews now regarding the Ice Maker alone. Our Samsung washer went out after 5 years and it was cheaper to replace than repair. Will never buy another Samsung Product. SAMSUNG PRODUCTS ARE OVERPRICED AND OVERRATED.
Youve heard the phrase, Let the buyer beware? Well, if youre reading this post and all the others like it in anticipation of purchasing a refrigerator, I would STRONGLY advise you to take heed! This refrigerator is a poorly designed, sub-standard product (in fact, so sub-standard it would have to climb a mountain just to get to a minimum-acceptable-proficiency level...). Mine has only been in use for 2 1/2 years, and weve had multiple issues, including most of the ones discussed in previous reviews. Currently, it has power, but neither the refrigerator nor freezer is working at all. Dealing with Samsung is difficult, as other reviewers have stated, and Ive been without a functioning fridge/freezer for 12 days. Mine is the French door model with the additional drawer and the ice-maker. I thought I had done my homework before I purchased this refrigerator, but clearly I did not research enough.Perhaps the fact that the most reputable appliance dealers in our town dont carry Samsung should have been a clue! If you are planning to purchase a new refrigerator, I hope you learn from my mistake and avoid Samsung. If not, you will likely soon find yourself unhappily a member of the ripped-off Samsung-appliance-owner family!
Weve been in this house since November 1998. Our previous Kenmore was working fine when we decided to remodel with all-stainless steel kitchen appliances. This evening (10/20/2013), as we were preparing dinner, we were melting butter. The first time, the time wasnt set long enough. When we attempted to continue melting the butter, the SE error code appeared. Nothing I did would return the unit to normal. This is ridiculous to pay a premium for a so-called top-of-the-line appliance and it lasts approximately two years.Just this past week, we had to have out Samsung dishwasher serviced because debris had jammed the impeller preventing the wash pump from operating. I was told by the repair tech that the GE Pot Scrubber (that was also working fine) would have ground discharged the debris but dishes have to be completely pre-rinsed of all food debris prior to being loaded into a Samsung dishwasher to prevent eventual clogging of the impeller. I wont get into the ridiculous cost of 400-gallon water filters for Samsung refrigerators.
RF32FMQDBSR - Bought 11/29/13. 3 calls to have icemaker fixed in first 3 months. Month 15, cooling problems started for main fridge cavity. Had an extended warranty (THANK GOD), repairman took 3 trips to finally contact Samsung Engineers who then deemed my unit not repairable. Just ridiculous for as much as this thing cost to have 2 major issues in less than 2 years. My previous fridge lasted for over 15 years with the only issue being the seals around the doors wearing out. Samsung makes you do a song and dance to get your money back, which includes me disposing off fridge. I dont get reimbursed the tax I paid (nearly $300) and I have to peel stickers and cut the power cord.
Well it’s a nice microwave, lets you know when you need to get your products out of the oven and self cleaning is nice, love the chrome and black. That’s the color and the overall expectations are almost met. I still haven’t learned all the little things that it has to offer me but soon I’m sure I’ll read up on it and find out! Lol. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for one.
We purchased our Samsung French door refrigerator (Model #RF263BEAESR) in March of 2013. What a piece of junk and to add insult to injury... poor customer service from Samsung. The unit does not defrost properly on its own. We have been experiencing ice build up behind the back interior panel of the fridge compartment. The ice builds up to such an amount that the fan blades can be heard scraping the ice build up, which is an unpleasant sound along with the motor groaning at times. In addition, we have been dealing with water leaking from the back panel onto the shelves and inside the bins.Contacted Samsung and they arranged for the only authorized service repair company in our area (40 miles away) to contact me. Set up an appointment with them. On the afternoon of the appointment (while Im sitting at home waiting for them during the time block they arranged) they call to cancel. Then when I try to reschedule they keep offering only morning times which I told them I could not do. I got so frustrated with the whole ordeal I simply told them to forget it. Then when I email Samsung with my frustrations they reply with bunch of B.S. that did nothing to correct the problem or stand behind their product. Now after only being 3 years old, I am replacing this giant piece of crap with a new refrigerator because I am so disgusted with Samsung.Go to YouTube and you will see how to videos on how to attempt to fix Samsung refrigerators with the exact same issues we are having. And there are countless horror stories on ConsumerAffairs.com of people having the same issues with their Samsung fridges. Not to mention in 2010 there was a class action lawsuit against Samsung for the exact same issues with some of their fridges. But yet Samsung has the audacity to tell me they are not aware of any such issues with their refrigerators. Funny how the appliance place we purchased our replacement fridge from no longer carries Samsung. Do yourself a favor, steer clear of Samsung for appliances... Period. They are a piece of junk and the company is horrible to deal with.
I own a Samsung frig and so does my son. We bought them 5 1/2 years ago. The warranty was for 5 years. Now, 6 months later we can NOT find anyone to fix them. They say that they have their own repairmen trained to make the repairs. I sent $3000. on my fridge and now I cannot get it fixed for 11 days. I run a childcare from my home and so I am now losing income for those 11 days as well as all the money spent on the extended warranty and the fridge repairs which they wont even give a rough estimate cost. Do not buy a Samsung fridge. They are next to impossible to get fixed. The service department took 3 days to call me back.
I purchased and installed a Samsung Gas Range (NC58H9950WS) in Spring of 2015. I recently ran (Dec 2017) the oven cleaning feature, and now my display is not working. Ive found many similar reviews stating their displays stopped working after running the cleaning program. The cost to repair this is approximately $1100 to replace both display boards (the range cost me around $2500 new). It would seem that Samsung sold us all a bill of goods by saying this feature is available on their range but in fact using the feature will make other parts of the range break down and require replacement. If youve had a similar experience, write your review!
We purchased our refrigerator June 11, 2013. Within a year it was not cooling. When I called wholesale appliance they told me to call Samsung. I did. They told me it would be more than two weeks before service. I had food spoiling in the refrigerator. I finally called someone else to repair it. Now six months later it is full of food from Thanksgiving and not cooling again. I am at my wits end. I need to know what recourse we have.
Black French door Refrigerator Model # RF263AEBP. After just over 1 year from purchase, we were alerted to our 1st of now 3 water freeze-up in our fridge. In time #1 & 2 noted water on kitchen floor which was ultimately also on the floor of refrigerator section. Warranty was expired. Thank goodness for websites like this and youtube as we determined the problem was water line freezing and ultimate ice back up. Ice was thick all over the coils and drain clogged with ice. After following youtube directions all was fixed and we felt pretty darn happy with ourselves. (Rightly so as based upon reviews here not only do Samsung techs not know what’s going on - there is no fix, thats clear - but private techs dont know either and all just sell you a bill of goods you dont need.)About 6 months later we were alerted to the problem again in the same way described above. Followed the same youtube process and although this is getting old, solved the problem. Its been over a year and no freeze ups. Until 2 days ago. This time no alert of water, simply the fridge was warmer than usual. Rebooted the fridge and the sensor panels. The key here we didnt hear the fan going. Fridge and freezer cold enough but no noisy fan motor (a lifetime issue with this fridge). Again alerted by one of the reviews, we tried to do what we always do but this time it took 40 min to remove the back panel to access the frozen coils. When we finally got it off the fan was still under over 3 inches of ice (fan is on the back panel). Well after another hour of defrosting all ice with hair dryer and clearing the iced up drain.. all was cleaned (only positive occurrence for me) and put back.Well, while ice is gone, this must have been the straw on the camel’s back as even though the fan moves freely it seems the motor probably has had it. Froze up too long. No early alert system which clearly this defective product needs. I am mad. Not at defective product but at the dismissive attitude of this company to all those who have been trying to go through the proper channels. I do have no choice but to call my regular appliance company who I trust. Then Ill decide whether or not to repair or replace. Its a shame because the physical structure Im happy with. But will never, ever, ever buy an appliance that has any association with Samsung in the future...
I am 60 years old and have lived in many different places around the world. In most of those places I had a stove/oven but never had any problems with them. They always just seemed to work. My 3 year old Samsung on the other hand has a bad motherboard. Yep, a stove with a motherboard and yes motherboards go bad. I wouldnt buy another Samsung anything. What a piece of junk.
We have had this refrigerator for about 2 yrs now. After a month of owning it, we noticed the refrigerator was not cooling. After unplugging for a while, we plugged it back in one day and it was cooling. 2 weeks later, same issue. Now weekly.
We have had the unit going on 9 or 10 years. Recently we have had a problem with the bottom freezer compartment freezing up. I have to remove both compartment and wait until the ice that has formed on the bottom area to thaw and remove the ice. Went to local dealer and was told that maybe that maybe the freezer door seal is worn. I inspected the seal and it still look good. Cleaned the seal as suggested yesterday. Now, I will wait and see what happens in the next few days. The setting for the freezer compartment is set a 8 degrees.
Purchase this Samsung dishwasher for my new addition at the end of 2017. It has never been a good product. It does not clean well at all and in fact the first time I had a repair person out all they told me to do was to push every single button feature on the dishwasher and make sure that my water was already hot before I used it. It is a total piece of garbage. Now today I had to have another repair person come at the cost of $120. I was informed that the main power unit has gone out and just for the part is $450. Needless to say, I have to purchase a new one and it sure as hell will not be a Samsung. This is the worst dishwasher I have ever seen.
We bought this range, Samsung NX58H565OWS in October 2014. In 3 years of normal family usage, we have had to replace the thermal coupler twice. All the knobs that control the stove top have broken and the cast iron grates have even broken. In over 25 years of owning appliances, I have never had one that broke down in so many ways. Never had knobs or grates broken before and two thermo couplers??? To make matters worse, my local appliance repair company wont service Samsung, wish Id known that before I bought it, lesson learned. I understand why they wont service this badly constructed stove/range. When I contact Samsung for help, the first guy hung up on me. The second lady just sent me to the parts department so that I could purchase all the replacement parts I needed. Time to buy a new stove, never again will it be a Samsung. Really disappointed!
Less than 2 years after purchasing our Samsung RF266AEPN refrigerator, the fridge started making VERY loud sounds. Turns out the evaporation coil in the back wall of the fridge had a huge build up of ice due to a poor design. This ice made it impossible for the cooling mechanism to function properly. We spent hours carefully melting the ice away and clearing the coil of ice, and putting everything back together. This has become a twice annual ritual. Now new symptoms have developed that will necessitate spending money to repair this piece of junk.
I bought this piece of crap dishwasher a year and half ago from Home Depot and it has been total garbage, does not dry dishes and poorly cleans them and worse of all it leaks from the front door which I cant seem to stop. I would love to have my money back but thats not gonna happen so good bye to Samsung products FOREVER!
Samsung SMH2117S/XAC. Would expect a quality microwave to last more than 2 years. Started displaying 5E or SE error code. Called Samsung as there are many known reports of this. They stated my model not part of the recall and would offer no support. Regret furnishing my new home with Samsung appliances. Have had repairs to dishwasher and range already as well. Buyer beware!
Sears has recently advised me, after telling me I was to receive a replacement for this lemon that they will not honor the replacement offer. I received 2 confirmations by phone on this and they (SEARS) sent a service person over to do the return report. I awaited Sears to arrange the replacement BUT instead they reneged after I called them to find out status. Some malarkey about, We dont take fridge back due to faulty ice maker issues... even though they replaced or fixed it several times only to have the problem recur.I have both the factory warranty and the optional Sears on this proximate 2-yr-old EXPENSIVE unit. I have advised Sears by phone that I will take them to court unless they exercise good faith on assurances, promises and warranties. Anyone else out there with endless ice maker issues Id like to know.
Like everyone else, I have a Samsung microwave that is less than 2 years old and having a keypad problem. It starts up on its own, runs the Baked Potato program and eventually stops with the code -SE- displayed. I need to unplug the unit, let it sit for awhile, and then plug it back in to get it working again. I agree that Samsung needs to do something about this. The problem is too widespread. I wont be buying any Samsung items until they convince me that they can make good on fixing their problems.
Two year old French door Samsung. Purchased warranty. Ice has always been frosty, half crushed, never a normal ice cube. One repairman said it is because the ice is too cold! He said turn it off every night, back on in the morning! One repairman said the year mine was made, they all make terrible ice. Changed filter and it completely flooded the kitchen and down into the freezer. Why should we have to pay over a hundred dollars a year for filters? I never changed a filter in a fridge before. We do not drink the water from the door. Samsung should recall these machines and replace them!!
Purchased the Samsung NX58F5300ss/AA Gas Range in December of 2013 from Best Buy. About two days ago my wife was going to cook breakfast but noticed the display panel was blinking and displaying the letters SE. I called Samsung Customer Service, explained the problem to them. They told to reset the circuit breaker in the house panel box and that would fix the problem. Needless to say, that didnt fix the problem. I called Samsung again, told them their fix did nothing. Samsung offered to setup an appointment for a service call but would not tell me what the service call would cost nor would they give me any information as to the probable problem could be.Based on other reviews, this error code of SE is a known problem but Samsung has not been helpful at all in trying to help me resolve the problem. Also based on other reviews I agree that it would be cheaper to buy a new range rather than calling a Samsung repairman.
There is a known problem with the French door model freezer seal. It leaks and then builds up ice behind the drawer. The frost free freezer must then be defrosted. This happens about every 9 months. Replacing the seal will work for some time but the defect returns.
We purchased a Samsung 4 Door Flex 2.5 months ago. I’ve had to defrost the ice maker at least 4 times so far with hot water and a blow dryer. Took 5 cups of hot water to dislodge all of the ice. There is no way to fix this design flaw and if Samsung tells you otherwise don’t believe them.
I have purchased Samsung refrigerator model RT26ZBSS1/XTL on 2009. After using for 3 years it started giving trouble like cooling issue. I have reported this issue to their service engineer and he has replaced the thermostat and other item for the same. After using for two month it has started giving the same problem. I request other customer to not go for Samsung product.
I purchased the Samsung RF263BEAESR. I purchased in 2012. A year ago the ice machine began freezing to the point where the machine would not make ice. Now the motor is making a loud noise. It keeps me up at night and its began a week ago. I called Samsung customer service and they were so nasty. It left me with such a bad impression. I spent $3000 on a refrigerator and just 3 years later its giving my family problems. I dont have the money to purchase another refrigerator and I think its just not fair. Samsung should care about their customers and fix the problems people are having with these refrigerator. These products should last me at least 8 years problem free!
Over this past month, a horrible smell started emitting out of my 2-year-old Samsung French Door refrigerator. It smelled like a petrochemical --- nauseatingly sweet and very very susceptible to becoming airborne and stinking the whole house up. I emptied all the food out and it sat empty for a week and still stunk bad. Wiping it down did not help. The cooling functionality of both the fridge and the freezer parts was fine. I then turned it off for a week while I waited on Samsung to respond to my service call request. The phone call into Samsung did not go very well at all, with the service representative telling me emphatically that they do not have a 5-year warranty on this refrigerator, even though it is printed in Samsungs manual supplied with the unit. Only when I read the page off to her, did she relent and said that they did have a 5-year warranty, but only on key internal parts -- which I knew and had repeatedly told her. She did not want to schedule me for a diagnostic (which I would still have to pay the $89 basic fee no matter what), because Samsung does not warranty against odors. Though gritted teeth, I explained 5 times over that I was smelling a chemical smell of degraded plastic or Freon or some structural material... and we needed a service call to get to the root of the matter. When the Samsung technician arrived and took off the panel at the back inside wall of the refrigerator, where all the control mechanisms are, a black wad of goo tumbled out of the compartment. The technician stated that all of the mechanisms were working great. I pounced on the wad of goo that had bounced to the bottom of the fridge floor. Whats this stuff? He said it was a type of putty that goes around some of the controls to kind of cushion them. We glanced up at the coils and tubing in the innards of the controls, and I could see where the goo-putty had pulled away from a section leaving behind little remnants. I said to the technician, what if this happened.... What if the putty, once eroded away, slipped down to where it should not have been and reacted with an electrical heat-emitting part of the control panel, and the heat caused the goo to degrade and become airborne. He thought that intriguing, especially since everything else worked. The goo smelled bad like the odor... but then again, so had every container of food I had thrown away, the odor was so pervasive. The goo is in a ziploc now, and 3 days after technician, the smell has decreased significantly to just a linger. I am going to wipe it down again and put in baking soda. I think we got this. For clarity, the putty goo was a misshapen lump of coal-black squishy stuff about the size and consistency of a big chewed-up wad of Hubba Bubba bubblegum (dating myself here).
Whatever you DO NOT buy Samsuck appliances. I am on my 5th ice maker and second control board and no ice. Customer service makes Comcast look like the Catholic church, they are a joke. All they do is apologize and say they have the same refrigerator with no problems. Yeah right. If you are in the need for appliances run as far from Samsuck as you can.
The panel that shows the time and the timer keeps flashing steam and medium in the background. It’s not even a year old. Very disappointed that it’s already falling apart. Also has a scratch on the top even though I’ve been very careful when using pots on stove and very hard to keep clean!! Have to clean the top every day.
We followed directions to change the interior Halogen light bulb in our ME179KFETSR Samsung Microwave oven. Weve spent over 6 hours, called at least 5 different recommended phone numbers, including 1-800 SAMSUNG, and we are still no closer to changing the old light bulb. We removed the old bulb, but our fingers are too large to install the new bulb. It must be a faulty design, but Id say when you cant even change the light bulb, or get any help, I have bought my last Samsung kitchen appliance. I would have given a 0 for my satisfaction rating if it was an option.
I love the look of my Samsung refrigerator but the functionality is non existent. It doesn’t make ice. It freezes up. The main compartment doesn’t keep temperatures cool enough for safe food storage. Samsung has known about these design flaws and continues to sell product they know will fail. They don’t stand behind their product and calls are routed to a third party call center. I will never purchase another Samsung appliance.
We purchased our Samsung refrigerator model # RFG297AAPN, the really large, 2 door bottom freezer. We had ice maker problems right away. The ice comes out and sprays as the shoot is very large and the ice seems to build up somewhere and when you ask for ice you get quite a bit of water. Samsung sent out a repair tech who replaced the ice maker. It still does the same thing. We have had water build up and freeze under the bins. We have a home warranty that covers the refrigerator but not the ice maker. They fixed the leak but the ice maker still gives water with ice. It is a large refrigerator which is great but customer service at Samsung is hard to deal with.
I purchased a Samsung double door refrigerator about 2 yrs back. From day 1 of purchase it is not working well - does not cool, there is water puddle formation in front of the refrigerator (it is supposed to refrost type). Despite getting a Samsung technician and having it repaired twice still the problem is persisting. I even paid Rs 300-400 both times for the repair even though it is under warranty. I even offered to ship it at my own cost back to Samsung and forget about it and would like to buy another refrigerator from another company that is more reliable and responsive. I suggest to all Indians never to buy a Samsung product in their lifetime. Samsung is most cheating company I came across.
Absolutely the biggest piece of junk Ive ever owned and I made the mistake of buying a refrigerator from them twice. First refrigerator had issues with the ice maker the first year. Got that resolved.... maybe? We moved out of that house so who knows what the new owners had to deal with after we left. Bought another Samsung for the new house. Biggest mistake ever. Again, ice maker down in the first year. Had their awful Service Quick service out twice to get that fixed. Then the entire refrigerator dies a year later. Condenser just gives out. Its still under warranty so they try to fix it and fail miserably. Tech burns a whole in my floor while using a blow torch. That nonsense of trying to fix it went on for two weeks. Now they are supposed to fix the floor and bring out a new refrigerator. We are six weeks into this mess and still no refrigerator. Ive been lied to repeatedly about the process and how long it will take. Theyve put information in wrong, further delaying the process. Its completely ridiculous and they never do anything to expedite the service and make it right. Pandemic has been used an excuse multiple times which is total BS since they are essential and never closed and neither has the trucking company. DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG APPLIANCE.
I purchased the Samsung SMH9187ST microwave in May 2011 and installed it in July 2011. The unit failed on September 1, 2012! I barely used it, too. There was no SE error code as Ive been hearing or beeping, just a blank display and no response. I unplugged the unit for about an hour and replugged it - no luck. I left it unplugged for 2 days and then it worked again for about a week and today the unit is again completely unresponsive, even after trying to plug it back in after 2 days of being unplugged. Im in for a class action suit. The company has ripped a lot of people off and should have a complete recall on these units. My biggest beef is that this unit was a pain to install and now Im looking at dismantling and reinstalling another unit. Im not so upset about the loss of $245 I paid for it but rather all of my time and frustration. Im done with Samsung.
We bought the stainless steel, french door model, with a bottom freezer. It was quite expensive, just under $2700 with tax. The big lure for us was that it has two ice makers, one up top where the ice comes out through the door, and one inside the bottom freezer where it just falls into a bin. Well, shortly after the warranty expired, the bottom icemaker stopped working. We called in a Samsung approved repairman and the cost to fix the icemaker was $448! WOW! We did not have it repaired, because we thought the cost of the repair was outrageous. Also, the remaining working icemaker (the top one), when set to dispense cubed ice, spits out some cubes and a LOT of bits & pieces of ice. Note: We do NOT go back and forth between cubed and crushed on the ice selection; it stays at cubed all the time. We probably will not ever buy Samsung appliances again.
We bought a Samsung stove - Model #NX58H5600SS and a microwave model #ME18H704SFS in May 2015. The stove overnight started beeping and now showing an error code SE. The Microwave has been making a weird buzzing sound for over a year (seems like something is broken inside). After the stove issue we decided to call Samsung and they basically told us our warranty for the stove is for one year and microwave if it’s magnetic issue then the warranty is for 10 years but you have to pay for labor in order to fix the issue. However, we have no idea what the issue is. I can’t believe that after having these items for less than 3 years we already have issues. I’m very disappointed that we purchased these products and would tell anyone not to buy it since they are crap products! Before remodeling our kitchen we had a stove that lasted years not just for three years. Ridiculous!!!! So now I have to get a service person to come and fix it. Stop selling crap products.
Hoping you can give me suggestion to file a significant complaint to Samsung regarding my side by side refrigerator (RS554NRUASL). We bought this two years ago for our second home from which we only used during Christmas and summer or about a total of less than five months. Due to the pandemic, we again use it since August but the unit was already DEFECTIVE. We filed a complaint thru the Samsung website but they only accept queries for their digital units. There was even an option in their website to complain to the Samsung CEO, from which I did, but to no avail. We are also in touch with the local service rep of Samsung since the the first week of September, paid a big amount for parts and service but the unit is still DEFECTIVE! Please help.
Not enough clearance head room was allowed in storage drawer for pot lids. It looks OK when looking at drawer at the store but dont get fooled. Half the time its impossible to open because it gets jammed because of handles. One lid up, one lid down etc. If I knew that issue I would never have bought this stove.
Rf-267 is a faulty item. I have had this refrigerator for only 2 years and already 3x I have had to repair it. First, the fridge/freezer was warm and now the sensor was not working with ice build up and loud noise. Do not buy Samsung refrigerators.
Samsung Microwave model # SMH8165ST - I bought this microwave in May of 2011, and it has gone out on me flashing the SE error code across the keypad. Nothing helps; the breaker is not tripped and I tested the plug to make sure it works. It is completely un-usable and of course the warranty has expired. I had to pay $500 plus to get it installed over my stove and a week or so later, pay an electrician another $500 to put in a new breaker for it because it kept tripping. I have been reading a lot of reviews on Samsung models with the very same problem. It appears to me that these should have been recalled long ago, but Samsung continued to sell them.I am 73 and on a fixed income, have no husband to make repairs, and pulling the thing out of my kitchen is out of the question for the moment. It looks like Im stuck; I feel this microwave should have served me for many years no more than I use it. Next week, 7 grandchildren will be here for a week for Camp Grandy and I cant imagine not having a working microwave! Hopefully, this helps someone else. I will certainly steer away from Samsung products from now on. I gave it 2 stars because it did last almost 3 years.
We purchased dishwasher. Sent in warranty card. The left side wall of stainless steel welding came loose so the unit tray would not move in and out to put or remove dishes. This part has a lifetime warranty. I have Samsung paperwork to prove it from their website. After two factory damaged replacement parts were sent to our home which were unable to be used to replace lifetime warranties part Samsung would not send any additional parts to my home. The repair service A&E confirms this part was manufactured in 2011 and the part has a lifetime warranty. They cannot help me further until Samsung sends a good repair part to my home. Which Samsung has not done. I assume they do not have a good repair drum to sent as a replacement. After more than 10 calls to Samsung about replacement and repair part, I called to resolve this issue but consumer department would no long take my complaint or send me to executive customer service. This started in April 2016 and my last call was on June 8, 2016. They stated they cannot help me further or escalate my call to anyone that could help. I am a senior citizen and just want Samsung to send me refund $813.00 for the warrantied part they cannot or do not have to repair the unit so we can replace the unit. I will not replace the unit with a Samsung if this is how they treat their consumers.
The Samsung microwave SMH8165ST was purchased approximately 2 years ago from Lowes. First the light kept coming on and off by itself for a day or two. We unplugged overnight, same thing. Then the SE code came on. We looked online and there were many, many complaints about the SE code and at the same age of microwave as ours. Some people suggested taking off the touch board, replugging everything and putting it back. For some it worked. We simply plugged and unplugged the wires inside, replaced. Now the microwave is completely dead. Customer service just gave me a number to buy a new keypad. No more Samsung for us.
On September 6, 2016 I was heating frozen vegetables in the plastic pouch on a microwave safe plate. When I looked up from the stove, there were flames shooting out the right side of the oven. I opened the door and threw water on them to put them out. Then I unplugged the oven. I called Samsung immediately to report this. I was told I would be contacted by a technician with 24 hours. The repair department did not call me until 2 days later and the earliest appointment available was for Wednesday, September 14. In the meantime I called the electrician to check my electrical outlets and service. Everything is up to code--prover voltage, etc. Now I am waiting for the repair tech to arrive on Wednesday. Very disappointed in this product. It was purchased the end of March this year and is even 6 months old.
We bought a Samsung refrigerator from Home Depot to replace an old refrigerator that had developed a Freon leak. When the new refrigerator was delivered and plugged it, it immediately tripped the GFI breaker. The Home Depot delivery crew said there must be a problem with the electrical circuit. Lamps and other test units plugged in to the outlet worked, but plugging in the refrigerator immediately tripped the circuit. We paid for an electrician to come out. He said that the circuit tested OK but recommended that we replace the GFI breaker. He installed a new GFI breaker and outlet for the refrigerator. The circuit tripped immediately when the refrigerator was plugged in. The electrician tested and diagnosed the problem as an internal short in the refrigerator. Electrician cost $296. We contacted Home Depot about the problem, and our call was routed to Samsung. After about 15 minutes answering questions with the Samsung representative, we were told that a local Samsung service contractor would contact us within 48 to 72 business hours. We received a call from Central Electronics Services saying that the soonest the could have a technician come out to diagnose the problem would be two weeks later - nothing could be done to advance the service schedule. We went in to Home Depot who expressed concern about the problem and said that it is not uncommon to experience problems in getting manufacturer warranty service from Samsung. We are still awaiting the Central Electronics/Samsung service technician to arrive. Hopefully the defective refrigerator will be replaced with a properly functioning unit without undue. In the interim, we warn others considering purchase of a Samsung major appliance about the poor service from Samsung. Buyer beware!
My kitchen was in desperate need of a makeover so I decided to purchase all new products from Sears and selected Samsung. I so wish that I would have checked with Consumer Affairs first before purchasing (3) Samsung products in 2013 - all of which have had issues. I purchased a double door black refrigerator, a black microwave as well as a black gas range. My refrigerator from day one has had issues with the ice maker not making ice and the refrigerator temperature not working properly. The worst product of all was the microwave oven that caught fire while I granddaughter was cooking a hotdog on a paper plate. The plate caught on fire. There were sparks and flames literally shooting from the microwave. I didnt purchase the extended warranty on the microwave because my experience with good microwaves is that they simply stop working after about 6-7 years. They dont catch on fire! I paid $329 for the microwave and Samsung wanted to charge me $325 for the repairs and continue to give me the run around. The matter is still not resolved. So if you are reading this review... save yourself the trouble. Please do not purchase any Samsung product!
Where to begin: the clear plastic fronts of all of the door shelves cracked and fell off. Some door shelves simply fell out and broke as well. The center deli drawer sticks requiring serious pulling to get it open. The hinges for the cover for the deli drawer broke at the pivots which are built into the refrigerator. The cover also fell out and cracked. Our house is not air-conditioned. When the temperature gets into the 80s, the refrigerators control computer does not like that and the control panel blinks on and off, turning on and off all of the functions (upper ice maker, lower ice maker, crushed ice, water) and the temperature control randomly switches as well. The lower ice maker fell off after a few months. Samsung would not help. I engaged a private repair company who indicated that they had seen that happen before. A few weeks after he replaced the ice maker, it broke again. The repair company indicated that they would not/could not guarantee any repairs on the Samsung refrigerator. At this point, there is no lower ice maker at all. Upon several occasions, the upper ice maker flap jammed open. And as other reviewers have mentioned - Samsung customer service is about the worst one could imagine. In all, the terrible experiences that we have had with this refrigerator have given us one clear path forward: NEVER, EVER purchase any Samsung refrigerators!!!
2 months out of 1 year warranty and drainage and ice issues. Refrigerator not cooling properly. Samsung service terrible with hours upon hours on hold. I will never ever buy another Samsung. Water flooding and freezing under crisper drawer. Spoiled food 3 different times. Temperature sensor is behind control panel which gets frozen due to a defect in drainage system.
We have had our refrigerator (bottom-freezer) less than a year. Weve had Samsung out 3 times to check out the random very loud noise that it makes. The resulting opinion is that the noise is normal. I am having to endure it as I type this and would encourage anyone to NOT BUY a Samsung appliance. Another thing is the space inside. The shelves are not spaced to hold American-sized food/drink containers, so we have to store them on their sides. From what Ive read, they make fine electronics - TVs, etc. Just dont buy their appliances.
Bought Samsung side by side refrigerator, dishwasher, and range. Ice maker overfills and drops the cubes frozen into one slab. Causes sugar to jam and busts ice bin. Replaced 3 times while still under warranty. Requested Samsung send a tech to fix problem but was told they could not do that, best they could do was mail an ice bin. Fan started making noise that got louder & louder. Eventually realized ice was building up behind the wall. I was still denied service. Have to manually defrost every few months! Now out of warranty and bin busted again. Not paying $160 for a bin that will just bust. Have a plastic box to catch the ice and dont use the dispenser. Dishwasher is also a piece of junk! Doesnt drain properly and smells awful! Stove is the only thing that hasnt given problems yet!
We recently put an entire modern kitchen and addition on our home. At that point given we had for many years used Samsung we upgraded the white GE appliances to Samsung in our home as they were here when we bought it. We bought a new French door bottom drawer freezer fridge, pretty much top of the line at Home Depot. We bought the matching microwave model #ME21H705MQS/AC, and lastly also the matching stove with convection, steam cleaning. The fridge was delivered first and it would not shut off and was very loud to a point were it interrupted conversations. After following their processes and after the technician came and he agreed something was very wrong, we had to them go through their executive center who literally after 20 minutes told they would sent our request for this 4 day old fridge to their engineering department to see if we qualified to have to returned. Home Depot were totally disconnected from this process. They told us they did not accept returns only repairs. We told them and Samsung should their technician who acknowledge this brand new fridge had significant issues and after the so-called executive center began by telling they would promptly resolve our issue. We told their executive center should their decision be to contradict their field technician and not replace and or return it we would seek legal counsel. They called later saying Samsung would return to Samsung. That process has taken 3 weeks since and the unit has been returned back and we await a refund. Think of the logistics involved in such a key appliance as a fridge and not just the food but having two in the house at the same time. We still do not have our refund. Friday night my wife decided make popcorn for the first time as we are only at this home on weekends in our now month old over the range microwave. With seconds she was screaming as it was on fire with flames shooting out of the side panel on the right hand side. It filled our new kitchen with disgusting white thick terrible smelling smoke. We called Home Depot and again the nightmare starts all over with chasing out tails. In various conversations with service people they tells us there are silent recalls. We are not sure about that but in any case why are they shipping products that can cause fires?Google how often this happens!I should have mentioned we have been asking to speak to a Samsung manager since this beginning with no feedback. Why should we keep the stove now??? Had we done our research this would not have happened. It is shame our home has been filled with Samsung products till this series of issues but never again!
We purchased our Samsung refrigerator 4 years ago as new homeowners. Towards the beginning of July this year, we started having issues with the freezer not keeping things frozen - ice cream melting, meat thawing, etc. After trying the recommendations in the manual and unplugging it to reset it per Samsung, it seemed like our problem was fixed... for about a week. So I called Samsung again. On July 21, a technician from one of their service centers, MidAmerica, came out and discovered our sealed refrigeration system was leaking (evaporator & compressor - attached is a picture of the evaporator; all the coils are supposed to be covered in ice and only the top one of ours is due to the loss of coolant)... he also informed us that the sealed refrigeration system was still under warranty (5 year warranty stated in manual). However, he couldnt fix it because he supposedly just moved to our state and didnt have the insurance/licensure to carry the parts... a little fishy, but he said we should be able to call Samsung and they will find a trained technician to fix it. Turns out - Samsung has no trained technicians for sealed refrigeration systems in our area, so they told us to find our own and they will reimburse us but only if the technician we found diagnosed the same problem... okay? So we call Mr. Appliance and they were fantastic! They came out on 7/30. They diagnosed the SAME problem but stated it would be over $2000 to fix it. They also informed us it was probably only a matter of time until our fresh food side stopped keeping things cool too. We were shocked. The refrigerator did not even cost that much to begin with and we also dont have $2000 lying around. So I contact Samsung again, spoke with a girl named Brady. I offered to email her the quote as well as our proof of purchase to show that it seemed ridiculous that we were going to repair a refrigerator under a manufacturers warranty for more than it was worth when we bought it. She put me on hold for a brief moment and came back to say we just needed to pay it and Samsung would reimburse us (mind you, there has never been anything in writing stating they would reimburse us... theyre expecting us to just go on their word). Refused to let me email the quote to them and also refused to let me speak to a supervisor about the issue. She stated a supervisor would email me... which never happened. In the meantime, we called Mr. Appliance about ordering the parts and they stated it would probably take over a month to get the compressor from Samsung... so my fiance calls Samsung to inform them of this. In our minds, it should not take a month (possibly longer) to get a warranty issue fixed! Asks to speak to a supervisor, on the phone for over an hour and talks to three separate people who are not supervisors and just keep saying its their policy to have us pay this exorbitant amount of money and expect them to reimburse us. We suggested that they just replace the refrigerator - they keep indirectly saying they will find a way to get the issue resolved. They say a supervisor will call us back in 24-48 hours... we wait 3 business days and havent heard anything, so I call them on 8/6. I spoke with Michael, who was very nice and genuinely seemed shocked that it was taking this long to get this fixed. He actually wanted me to email him the receipts and proof of purchase unlike Brady and stated they would be calling Mr. Appliance since they were the only people who said they could truly fix it. We were relieved. This was short-lived however because the next day they assign our ticket to MidAmerica AGAIN and some other local company (J&D) who had already told us they dont have someone trained in sealed refrigeration systems. By this time, I am irate. I call again and tell them to refer to the images of the receipts I sent, associated with the ticket number from my phone call on 8/6 with Michael. Gregory tells me there are no images with that ticket number. I felt like I was going crazy! These people are ridiculous. They are like robots every time you call - there is no history of ongoing issues, they close ticket numbers before the problem is resolved and just open a new one every time. They give you the run-around and obviously no one truly cares about resolving your problem. I submitted the images again and am still waiting on another phone call. If this product wasnt still under a manufacturers warranty, I wouldve been done weeks ago. It has affected our quality of life from the stress and time weve put into this and weve spent more money than anticipated on going out to eat and frequent grocery trips for fresh food. I feel defeated. I wish there was a no star option. It is somewhat comforting to see that so many other people have had issues with their Samsung refrigerators, as well as their customer service department, but also so unfortunate. I would NOT recommend any of their products to anyone at this point. I would never want anyone else to go through this like we have. Please consider this review (I know its long - sorry! ), as well as all the others, before purchasing a Samsung product.
Bought Samsung refrigerator RF263BEAESR in 2012 and within 2 years, the ice maker failed. Samsung would not fix since it was out of warranty. I spent the next 7 years calling periodically to see if they would address their defective product. They never would - until this year! Now they agreed to replace the ice maker. However, since Ive spent 7 years chisling, blowdrying, doing whatever I could to remove the shoebox size block of ice that appears - the housing that the icemaker sits in has become disfigured. Because I damaged the housing, my ice maker cannot be replaced and they will not replace the housing. So - they make a piece of crap ice maker - I suffer 7 years of listening to strange noises, fighting an ever-growing glacier of ice, etc. - and now, after 7 years - Im at fault for damaging the ice maker housing. I will never buy a SAMSUNG product as long as I live. They are despicable.
3 out of 4 were damaged then replaced by Lowes. Then one year later just out of warranty, the dishwasher is not turning off. It just continues to run and try to drain. Dishes were never clean and they never dry! Refrigerator is leaking too! It is very hard to change filter and finally got someone to do it and now it leaks and it went into freezer and froze!!! What a mess!!! Then I called three appliance people who will not service Samsung anymore because it takes too long to get parts and then part are sometimes not the right ones... Grrrrrrr. What a huge waste of money. Microwave fogs up too when i have something on the stove.
I was complainant # 100 and this is a follow-up of the situation. I called a 4th time to Samsung Customer Service to inform them of my success at repairing the microwave SMH9187ST and requested only the cost of the control panel assembly ($71.02). After some deliberation, the answer was no because I was not an authorized repair technician. Had I waited on Samsung to handle this situation with their service, I would have had no expense. Samsung now recognizes a problem with these microwaves and will assist consumers. I feel like Im being punished for being a capable do-it-yourself-er. Whatever happened to good customer service of decades ago?
I bought a Samsung stove - cost over $1000 for dual ovens (when the slide in partition is used). It has always been ridiculously slow to reach cooking temperature - I have long since given up and just throw the food in and hope for the best. Its usually about 10 minutes to reach 350 degrees. The real problem started when I was broiling toast - happily I was watching it so when the back of stove caught fire I was there to shut everything down and hit the breaker. A huge circuit board caught fire and melted and destroyed all the wiring too. I waited weeks for a technician who charged me $260 (through Samsungs site) and it worked again, but constantly makes clicking noises. The tech said this was normal!!! (It was clicking while he there.) I guess he thinks Im stupid! Now the convection fan comes on without turning on the convection side and keeps running with the door is open. WHAT A PIECE OF JUNK!!! Good chance that my house would burned. SHAME ON SAMSUNG. Theyve ignored the fire issue for years.
Just purchased less than one year ago. After 3 months the freezer frosts my things so badly I cant identify what is what. Then the ice maker stops making ice from time to time. I called and they sent out a service guy. He said it was normal. I accepted that but then it got worse. I called Samsung cust. service and sent them pictures. They said I would be able to get a replacement fridge. They gave me a reference number to give to Best Buy. I did that and Best Buy said the number did not work. Whatever that meant. Since then I have called every month for 5 months and they always give me a bogus number. Yesterday I called again and they said I would be getting a call from their executive customer service center within the hour with a correct number. I never heard from them. Samsung has lied and lied to me and given me the runaround. I will never buy a Samsung product again.
Purchased from Lowes. They did everything they could including replacing the unit. Problem still continued. Was referred to Samsung and they dragged it out until out of warranty. I have to take the back of the freezer apart every few weeks and defrost the back coils that have thick ice build up. Fan blade hits the ice and makes an unbelievable noise. We cannot use the freezer for food. Will never own another Samsung product.
The Samsung Refrigerator freezes vegetables and Fruits. Anything on top shelf. Along back wall. Even in the drawers. Freezes all kinds of food. Even jam which are in fridge. Never had any problems with previous Samsung.
Nine month old Samsung range slide in gas has been running perfectly. I attempted to use the self-cleaning mode for the very first time, it caused an overheating of the circuit and cause the whole stove just shut down. Had service man come out and repair as its still under warranty. Repairman was more than friendly, helpful, was advised probably not best to use self-cleaning as most likely this will occur again! Needless to say Im very disappointed. I had a 15-year-old Frigidaire electric stove self cleaner that I had used numerous times and this never happened! As I said the stove part is great, oven wonderful but it back to the dark ages. I have to hand clean my oven. Samsung get it together!
Ive purchased over the range microwave in May 2010 and in October 2011 (17 months later). The SE note came on the screen. The cost for a technician to come out was $75. This did not include the part or labor to fix it. I went out and purchased another brand of microwave and will never purchase another Samsung item.
