Samsung Refrigerator Model RF22N9781SR
The knobs on this stove are easily turned on if you accidentally rub up on the knob. I have done it 3 times and my son has done it a couple of times as well. The knobs are located right at the front of the stove on an angle where if you accidentally rub or bump the knobs, it turns on. I have to make sure nothing is on the stove because it will burn the house down if we leave the house and the knobs are accidentally turned on. Very dangerous stove, shame on Samsung for making such a hazardous stove!
I have approximately a three year old Samsung refrigerator. I have now been waiting 5 months for my replacement ice maker to come in from China for the second time. I just verified all serial numbers with my repairman. They once again have sent an ice maker with the numbers repair is telling them but on the wrong ice maker. I am a big ice fan. I replaced my old refrigerator because of a broken ice maker only to have a three year old refrigerator with another broken Samsung ice maker. So much for all the bells and whistles Samsung. Your product isnt worth 1 star.
I bought a Samsung Refrigerator model #RF263BEAESR 2.5 years ago. It was over $2,500.00. It has had very light use and out of the blue the freezer stopped working. Called Samsung and they sent technician to diagnose. Cost $125 for them to tell me the compressor has stopped working. After many emails back and forth and telephone calls to Samsung - most can hardly speak English, Samsung will pay for the part but NOT the labour. The labour costs are estimated at $900 to install the compressor. Really Samsung. Thats how you back your products? No one expects a fridge to only last 2.5 years. Never will I buy Samsung again. Its just a scam. These new appliances from Samsung just dont last and when a part goes unexpectedly they do not back up their product. They want you to buy a new one because in the end its probably cheaper. Well I may be buying a new fridge but it wont be a Samsung.
We have had the Samsung DW80F600 for 2 years and it is not working. Called customer service and ended up in some foreign country with staff who had no idea what to do. The only solution was to call a technician which I did and awaiting for him to show up. I suspect that as with most posts here, the technician will tell us that the repair will cost a few hundred dollars in which case it will be cheaper to buy a new one. WE had a GE dishwasher for 20 years and never had a problem with it. Like their Samsung phones, I suspect they cannot produce good products. Many other good brands to choose from.Updated 9/21/2016 - Samsung has a con system going on. THEY KNOW THERE IS A QUALITY PROBLEM WITH THEIR DISHWASHERS AND THEY CHOOSE TO DO NOTHING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. Please read the rest of the post. I promised to let you know what happened with the fix of my dysfunctional Samsung DW80F600, 2 year-old dishwasher.I called the appliance repair company Totem Appliance that was recommended by Samsung and set up an appointment for September 21, 2016. I was told that they cannot tell me over the phone what the problem was until the technician had a chance to diagnose the problem. The fee for this diagnosis I was told is $115. The technician showed up and lo and behold was carrying a replacement part. I asked him what that part was and he told me that this is the part that needs to be replaced. The exact part is the Brake Case Assembly - I believe part # DD82-01111A (as shown on the package). I asked him how he knew what the problem was and his response was that Samsung fielded many such complaints and by now they know what the problem is. Reluctantly I told him to go ahead and fix the problem. The cost for this part is $400 (a new dishwasher costs $600). He pulled the dishwasher out and replaced the bracket case assembly. He turned the dishwasher on to test it and amazingly it did not work. The Smart Auto error was blinking. He said that the dishwasher senses water and we need to leave the dishwasher door open for 24 hours for the water inside to dry or alternatively, he can dry the water himself. I said he should dry the water rather than us wait for 24 hours (not knowing whether we are going to see this company again). He pulled out the dishwasher (again), flipped it over, and unscrewed the bottom panel. Lo and behold, no water to be found, meaning there was no water as he claimed. He then said he needs to look at the ecs sensor. He took it apart, cleaned it and screwed back the bottom panel. He turned the dishwasher on and my goodness, it did not work again. The Smart Auto light was blinking again. He then said he has to call head office. He did call head office and they told him he needs to replace the pcb which is the main control board. He told me that this part is warranted for 5 years. I wanted to know why did he not replace the pcb in the first place and he said that Samsung told them to replace all three parts, regardless of the problem and then charge for the ecs and bracket case assembly only. In other words, since the pcb is under warranty they want to give you the impression that you are getting a so called deal.Since he did not have the pcb on him, nor did he have a replacement ecs sensor, he said that he will return the next day (Thursday, September 22) with the parts and replace them. So what does this all mean - 1. This is one big CON; 2. Rather than first replace the warranty part, namely the pcb, they sell you the most expensive parts first and if the fix does not work, only then they offer a replacement pcb. This to me is cause for a class action lawsuit and perhaps inform the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to trigger a recall. If you all agree with me then lets go for it. We all know by now the problems that Samsung is having with the Galaxy phone suggesting that quality is not part of the Samsung culture and secondly, they think their customers are stupid.
Bought all Samsung Appliances brand new. Dishwasher is continually throwing tantrums... Error code after error code. Very frustrating after you are spending nearly 2k on the machine! Fridge ice dispenser is not working due to ice blockage and apparently this is the KNOWN issue. All in all terrible brand! DO NOT BUY! Spend a bit more and get a reliable appliances. Wait why more, my fridge was 3.5k. :)
I bought my Samsung fridge (# RS261MDWP) new March 2011, from Sears. I have had to have the LED light replaced last year. I ordered the part myself and had a repairman put it in. I did not buy an extended warranty and reading all the other comments, makes me think I made a fair decision. I see neither Samsung nor Sears are standing by their product. Now the fan (which moves the cold air from the freezer to the fridge) is making a terrible noise. I called the same repairman and he said I needed to replace the fan, and ordered the part. It will cost $250 approx. to do the repairs. Since I made that call, my neighbor told me the fan will stop making noise intermittently. It is in the quiet phase now. I did not call the repairman back to replace the fan, as I think he wants to make a fast buck. If I end up having to replace the fan, I may as well buy a new fridge, as other comments lead me to believe I am on the cusp of more repairs needed. I understand there is a civil lawsuit pending? Please help me find where I can add my name to the list of dissatisfied owners. Thank You.
Holy **! You spend nearly $3,000 on a refrigerator, and 2 months outside of the standard 12-month warranty, the display goes out. 2 months? Really. The fact that they dont have enough faith in their own products to warranty a $2,800 unit for 24 months is ludicrous. I wish I would have read these comments beforehand. For those of you looking at the stainless steel 4 door fridge, model RF4287HARS, dont waste the money. Id love to see a class action on this.
I have been trying to get a refrigerator repaired for 2 weeks. The serviceman who initially came to look at it said Samsung is having a lot of problems with it, but is not doing anything about it. I have spoken to customer service at least 20 times. I have spent many hours on hold, and been disconnected at least 4 times. I have also been told they cannot connect me to a manager, because there were none available. They have finally agreed to pay for the repair, but are unable to find the part to fix a 4 year old fridge in less than 4 weeks. I have been told many times my case will be escalated to the next level, but it never is. I have also been told is it approved for a replacement, but no one can ever seem to figure out how to get that commitment into the computer, so nothing ever happens. The customer service people are only able to type the problem into their computer, never to do anything to fix it. If I hear I understand one more time, Im going to kill someone. It is by far the most incompetent, useless customer service department I have ever dealt with. Couple that with an appliance that is of very poor quality, please avoid it at all costs.
Bought a side by side Samsung refrigerator three years ago. I have had nothing but problems with having water in the crisper drawer and underneath the drawer. I have had repair man look and thaw it out and it needs a part is what I am told that whirlpool is making. My food freezes one minute then is too warm. My handles on the doors have paint chipping off and you clean it. Looks horrible. Very dissatisfied. I would never buy a Samsung refrigerator again.
I guess I should have read the reviews on this dishwasher before purchase; however, I relied on the good name of Samsung. Boy was I wrong! I purchased my dishwasher in March of 2014. In December, was getting the error codes. I called the repair warranty center and they came right out and fixed it. I was happy and impressed. Despite the fact that the dishwasher constantly smelled awful… it worked. By April 2015, I was getting the same error code. Samsung refused to stand behind their product. This is obviously a major problem with this unit with the numerous complaints and we know that this is just the tip of the iceberg! Shame on you Samsung for not addressing this problem fairly. You have really taken advantage of the consumer and that is disgraceful. I had to throw away a dishwasher that was only 13 months old because it cost more to fix than to buy a new one. WARNING to all who are considering this purchase - DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!
The majority of my appliances are Samsung. I have had nothing but repair bills for all of them. The latest is the dishwasher (DW80F600UTC). I will slowly replace all appliances. They are not very reliable.
We purchased a new Samsung gas range and it was delivered May 31, 2015. After doing a self-clean about July 20, on July 26th 3 of our birds died while we were roasting some vegetables in the oven. 6 days after using this feature it killed them!!! Please read about toxicity from these ovens! I have been in contact with them, and yes they have a compensation department. I am suing them for killing my family and my best friend! I now have a Whirlpool manual clean range!
Have a french door refrigerator. Had problems with the ice maker after first 30 days. Ice maker leaks and freezes up. Have had this worked on twice and numerous calls to Samsung with NO help from them. Everyone needs to know there is a class action lawsuit regarding this issue. Contacted Best Buy for service and the guy told me they would come fix it but would only be a 50/50 chance the ice maker would be fixed for good because of continuous problems with this ice maker and it could cost up to $500. Samsung has a problem with this and they should take responsibility to make good on their products. Will not buy another Samsung product.
Samsung refrigerator is the worst purchase I ever made in my life. Couldnt even last for 2 full years. And service department is insane. They give me appointment 3 times to come fix but nobody shows up and when you ask them why they didnt come they have nothing to say except sorry.
I purchased new double door top frig bottom freezer. It has never worked from the day it was delivered. My incessant complaints finally got a service call. Tech shows up looks at frig and announces I have no tools. I ask Why bother to come out on a service call, are you a complete idiot? A new company appeared yesterday. They inspected. Yep needs freon. I think they wrong as freezer, will get very cold frig low 60s F.
If you want to buy a dishwasher that will last 3-4 years then buy a Samsung. When ours stopped working it was hard to find a technician to look at it. Finally we did find someone and after 3 weeks of trying to get the right parts he told us to just go and buy a new dishwasher, he couldnt take the crap from Samsung anymore. Think before you buy!
It sounds like 2 years is the magic number. We purchased our Samsung microwave on 12/2010. We havent gotten any error message yet but the lights & nightlight will turn on and off by themselves at all times during the day and night. Weve been unplugging it, worried about a possible fire. So much for convenience. Im not paying to repair this piece of crap. I feel bad for my husband who is going to need to install a new one... that isnt a Samsung.
We thought that Samsung would be a reputable manufacturer when we decided to purchase a new stove. What a huge mistake in thinking that was!!! We had the smooth top stove model NE595RO for less than one month. I was cooking on it and my pot became stuck to the element. I could not get it off. So I let it cool down and then was able to remove my pot. (I always wipe my pots off on the bottom before cooking to ensure nothing will cause it to stick to the element area). A piece of the smooth top actually stuck to the pot and came off and made a dime-sized gouge in the smooth top. Was I ever mad. I had a KitchenAid smooth top for over 21 years and it looked as good as the day I had bought it. It was the oven that died in my KitchenAid and being so old we decided to get a new one rather than start to repair the old one. Plus the Samsung was a lot cheaper than many other brands. You only get what you pay for is the correct rule. I phoned Samsung and with the first call was told to send in the pictures and explanation which I did. I was told someone would contact me within 48 hours. One week later after no call, I phoned them back and I had to now deal with a very rude moron on the phone who would not tell me how to contact the supervisors at Samsung. Needless to say I had bought the extended warranty but the cook top should be covered for one year and it was only one month old when this fiasco happened. I did receive an email from Samsung stating it was a cosmetic issue made by the customer and they would not repair it. Samsung will use every excuse under the sun to lay the blame on the customer when in fact they have shoddy products and the most heinous customer service. This was our first and last Samsung purchase. Had we known then what we know now, we would have never bought a Samsung stove. BEWARE of Samsung products.
My freezer of my new fridge thawed out after 1 month. We had to dispose of all its contents. Samsung gave me the ph.# of the service contractor but it took a wk. to have a look. It needs major work and will take 2-5 bus. days for parts. That means next week. Then was advised it could take 2 more weeks to come and install them. He also told us our fridge will stop working shortly. Perfect! We no fridge and Samsung said they have no control over making this some sort of priority.
Read my title and that should give you an idea of how great my Samsung product isn’t. I sadly own a Samsung French door refrigerator. Ive had it for a year and no less than seven problems with it. Giant buzzing noises, Ice forming under drawers so you can’t open them, trays in the doors falling out and smashing to the ground together with all my salad dressings etc ... The writing on the Inside of the fridge wiping off the day I got it... The dividers held in place with sticky tape! The shelves not fitting properly ... It’s the worst made and designed fridge ever. But worst of all you can’t clean under some of the glass ... You just can’t. With much difficulty (Takes two people) you can take the section out but you still can’t clean under the glass. So the only thing you can do is soak your fridge In the bath. It’s seriously appalling. Appalling - and the way Samsung says there’s nothing they can do ... is the stuff of nightmares- It’s insane making. I have green slime under the glass of my fridge- that you can’t clean - It’s a health hazard and Samsung don’t care. They called the problem cosmetic. My health and cleanliness of where I store my food is not cosmetic. As soon as I can get rid of this poorly / cheaply made badly designed fridge I will. Do not buy this product. In fact judging how it’s taken me a Year to get anything done anything- I would never ever buy Samsung again either.
My dishwasher looks nice. It does a good job of cleaning but runs a long time. The size is good but seems very dark inside. We had a problem with it the first year and Samsung did fix it but a year later the same problem. They paid for the parts but we had to pay for the repair. This was the same problem that we had with it the first time. Wish I had bought another KitchenAid.
We bought a high end Samsung stainless steel over the counter microwave oven to replace a different one (other brand) that failed after 10 years. The Samsung one failed after 22 months of operation (out of warranty) when it stopped heating items. No noises or weird indicators to report of. Now, I am left with the choice of paying for repairs or buying a new unit (not a Samsung ever again). It is inexcusable for a household appliance to fail so soon, and that there is no indication of the failure (error code, warning) other than it stopped doing what it was designed to do in the first place.Without a working microwave, we cannot prepare kids lunches, warm our food, or cook dinner. Like other similar complaints, I am left with the choice of paying for costly and long repairs, or buying a new unit. I hope nobody else does the same mistake we did and buy a new Samsung microwave.
We renovated our entire kitchen in Samsung appliances. Our $3,300.00 4-door flex refrigerator lasted 2.5 years and my wife and I have been fighting with customer service (CS), since November 2017, to get them to honor their warranty. CS initially sent an authorized service person who tried to fix it and recharged the refrigerant. He stated that if this didnt fix the issue, since it was a sealed system, it is un-repairable. It worked for approximately 2 months and the issue returned. This points to a slow leak in the sealed system which has a 5 yr part/labor warranty. Next time we called they claimed they couldnt issue another ticket because our serial number had a refund already issued against it, though the refund wasnt in our name or sent to us. We feel their error is not our problem and shouldnt delay our warranty service request. They wouldnt budge.Since then weve heard nothing but excuses and well call you in a week. Another CS rep claimed the vendor (Home Depot) must have shipped a unit that had been previously returned (laughable), Home Depot doesnt stock the appliances theyre shipped straight from Samsung. We both actually heard these claims on our phone. Every time you call you have to re-explain the issue to them and Im sure they keep a file on your case. Now theyre asking me to remove the label from the appliance and send a picture to them (doesnt that invalidate the warranty?). This has been the most frustrating experience weve ever had. Youd think such a big company would want their name to stand out in a positive light. WE ARE NEVER BUYING ANOTHER SAMSUNG APPLIANCE AGAIN. Im contacting my states Attorney Generals office and the FTC about our issue. We may not be able to get financial relief but, if it is determined that what theyre doing is illegal, they will spend money in legal fees and fines. There are state and federal consumer laws regarding warranties. I hope this word gets out so maybe theyll change their ways. Best to document all contacts with them to show how they treat you. Their service techs dont give paperwork so you gotta keep all emails, texts msg, phone records to present your case.
We purchased a Samsung RF G298HD in 2011, which has run quite well. We have not had an issue with either ice maker. The large drawer needed to be replaced under warranty due to not opening easily. Our issue with this unit is all the plastic trim work is either cracking or just falling off. With a purchase price of over $2300, I would expect better quality. The end caps to the handles are plastic and fall off regularly. One on the shelves in the side door is cracking. I would expect more out of a company for the price that we paid for this inferior product.
Purchased a new Samsung refrigerator about 2 years ago and now the glass shelf that holds the crisper drawers is broken on the corner and the rail that the crisper drawer runs on is broken where the screw hole is broken where a worker had screwed it in too tight. The rubber gaskets are coming apart as well....This refrigerator cost was over $2000.00. Called customer service and they said TOO BAD out of warranty ....Model # RF267AEBP. Someone needs to get a class action lawsuit going on this and let all of us know...
I brought my Samsung refrigerator cash in 2014 and buy the protection plan too then I notice water was dripping from the ice maker. I called Asurion which is the company who oversee the protection plan. They did send someone out to fix it but the same thing keep happening again and again, it’s eight times I have to call them for the same thing. Right now there are mold building up in there and when I tell them there are tell me it’s my responsibility. But if it’s wasnt for the water and the sweating inside there wouldn’t be any mold. Can somebody tell me what the next step I should take. I have pictures to show what am talking about.
Same problem as hundreds of others! A beautiful $2200.00 problem! Only 3 years old and nothing but problems! Freezer works fine, but fan freezes up so the fridge stops cooling. Never trust the temp, bought 2 fridge thermometers to keep in it and watch them constantly! Lost lots of groceries, had a new control board put in to fix the problem, but after 2 weeks had to thaw it again; now after only 1 week, it’s happening again. Is there a fix or do I go buy a new one? Would like to join a lawsuit with others!
3 year old Samsung French door style fridge which I paid $2300 in 2013. The door ice maker has had issues from day one. Freezes up on a weekly basis and drips. The fridge just started leaking water into area under crisper and found it to be a well documented issue on the internet of freezing behind the wall panel. It is a design flaw that Samsung refuses to accept ownership of. Samsung support was unhelpful and simply said if problem resumes to seek service. Really? PLEASE RESEARCH SAMSUNG ISSUES BEFORE BUYING THEIR PRODUCTS. This problem accompanied with other Samsung appliance failures assures me that if you buy their stuff you are on your own.
Samsung microwave (SMH8165W), manufactured in July 2010, SE code - After a little over a years use, this microwave no longer works. SE code just started beeping and flashing on the display without even being used. Unplugged and re-plugged, this did not correct the problem. This was purchased new and professionally installed. I will never buy another Samsung microwave.
My husband and I purchased a new home July 2016. Kitchen had brand new appliances. We already had a repair done in Samsung dishwasher in which took over a week to get repaired. That was only after 5 uses. December 23, 2016 my refrigerator failed. Lost everything. Called the customer service at Samsung because they are brand new appliances. They should not be failing. The few people that I spoke to were not able to help get someone out. Spoke to supervisor. Got a local repair to come out that Friday to tell us what we known it was the compressor. Its a holiday weekend, company was coming and a baby in house. Samsung certainly did not see our frustrations. The guy at repair center said it will take 3 to five days for part to come in. That brings us to the middle of the week. Called repair center said it may be in Friday. I called Samsung again today 12/27/16 and told them the issue. Basically there is nothing they could do other than wait for the part even though it will be almost 2 weeks without a refrigerator that should not have failed (in warranty repair). I asked the supervisor at Samsung if they can expedite the part. She said no theres nothing they can do other than wait. Again I tried pleading my case. I have a baby in the house and other young children not to mention it is 60 out in RI today and losing everything in coolers. They did not resolve this pressing issue or the fact that I lost too and bottom of the food in refrigerator that is worth about 300 and the food I had to replace that I lost. Their customer service is just trained to patch the problem. They sound more like counselors than trying to make their product right.
I purchased a Samsung refrigerator in September 2009. Since that time I have had to have to ice maker replaced and now the ice maker has to be replaced again. Plus the freezer is not getting cold enough so that is another repair. I am thinking of just getting rid of this piece of junk and getting another refrigerator. Samsung Refrigerator is awful. I have nothing but bad things to say about this refrigeration. I am telling everyone I know to never buy a Samsung appliance.
Purchased this microwave from Lowes about 2 years ago. Dont have receipt anymore so dont know exact date... It now gets the -SE- error code and researching online after the fact have learned it to be quite a common problem and a design flaw in Samsung microwaves. Called Samsung to fix this issue and they said they will only replace parts for this error code in older models and not the SMH9027ST models... I ordered the display part and tried to replace myself but cant seem to open the bottom silver piece where this part goes. Will never again purchase Samsung products of any kind... Terrible customer service and products with known issues.
We purchased a Samsung refrigerator in November 2013. In the last 6 months water is accumulating in my produce drawers. I thought a hose was not connected correctly. Sad to say that was not the case. We spent 1200.00 on this fridge and after reading that others are having the same issues something needs to be done. CLASS ACTION SUIT. (Model # RF217ACRS).
I bought a Samsung RF266 refrigerator about 4 years ago. It regularly ices in the back and then needs to be taken apart and defrosted. In addition, it leaks water under the crisper drawers. There are many complaints online about this problem and yet the company has done nothing to resolve it. The refrigerator is more trouble than it is worth. I have finally given up and will be replacing this refrigerator after only 4-5 years. I will NEVER buy another Samsung appliance!
RF26 French Door Fridge - Purchased at Home Depot for my rental house and I took delivery on August 2015. The price was right but a previous experience with a Samsung fridge (since replaced with GE model) made me buy a 5 year extended warranty for this unit. Glad I did, but in the end the result will be the same. I eventually gave my first 2012 problem counter-depth fridge (RF19) away as I could not in good conscience sell it with THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM I AM HAVING WITH THIS NEWER MODEL!!! A sheet of ice forms under both crisper drawers. I know Im an idiot for taking a chance on Samsung again. Why you may ask... Call me foolish, I wanted to believe they had 5 years to improved their obvious design flaws. Why wouldnt they with so many of these same complaints?? First time shame on Samsung, this time shame on me!! (And maybe Home Depot.) Ill call Asurion and start the process of disappointment. I know what to tell the tech guy when he arrives. There will be no talk of ordering thermostats or other expensive parts or any of that nonsense. Just like I learned on a YouTube video following the first incident. Ill instruct the tech to carefully remove the cover of the twin cooling tower they call it. Then detach the cable harness and swing it out of the way. I wont actually do the work cause that would void my extended warranty. Ill just help with the hair dryer to defrost the frozen water in the center of the drain tray at the bottom of the heater (defroster) elements. The tiny hole the water is supposed to be able to escape thru is no bigger than the diameter of an ink pen refill. The solution is take a scrap piece of copper wire, say 14 gauge and wrap it several times around the heater bar and send it down the center of the tiny hole. This wire then helps transfer the heat directly to that point that freezes up. Reassemble and good to go. At least it worked on that fridge for over 1 year, then the problem came back. Like the guy on YouTube said, it works for while, then repeat as often as necessary. By this time I had learned a trick on how to keep the dripping water out of the food drawers and ruining my veggies (stand a sponge upright behind the drawers). That way all I had to do was check for the ice sheet under the drawers ever week or two, and chuck that ice in the sink. I was willing to put up with no loss of food as an improvement in my situation, resigning myself to the fact that I would not be replacing my home unit with any model of Samsung, even if it were FREE. Samsung was no help at all with the first fridge problems. Reading these comments here, it would seem that that hasnt changed at all. So my lesson learned is similar to others here, I will NEVER EVER purchase ANY Samsung appliance in the future. Also, what I will do different this time is I will file a complaint with the BBB against Home Depot, I wish all the commenters here that say class action this, or the government should do that would take a similar approach. I think this formal complaint action is one that may eventually lead to consumer protection laws being invoked against these thieves who refuse to stand behind their products.
We are having the repairman in on Monday because for the second time in 2 year our Samsung fridge is freezing lettuce and cheese. Yogurt is turning moldy even though there is still 3 weeks left till expiry. When the fridge works it’s great. When this happens it makes me nervous. We do not have an ice maker and I often wonder if it thinks there is one because it makes this strange clunky noises. Last time this happened we had to unplug the fridge so it could thaw out so they could change a part. I sure hope we don’t have to do this again. We only have 1 fridge so it does cause a bit of an inconvenience. My main problem is that we are losing food. This should not happen.
My experience with Samsung products is varied. I had a great Galaxy 5, but a not so great newer Samsung phone, my Samsung oven works well and looks good, but my Samsung refrigerators double door design is clunky.
Love my Samsung stove/oven. I bought the black stainless steel. The style is amazing! The oven heats up quickly. Love the delay start, self cleaning works great too. The oven control helps me manage all my cooking needs, bake, roast.
I brought a Samsung kitchen package at Best Buy. I have had countless problems with the Dishwasher, many of which have been previously written - doesnt wash the dishes, horrible smell (and I wipe my dishwasher interior door after each use), then when I tried to use it all of sudden lights are flashing and it doesnt drain. First repair said that Best Buy installed incorrectly, fixed that and then the door wouldnt open properly. Tried to use again, same issue with lights flashing and it moves to delicate and doesnt drain again. New repairman came out and said hes NEVER seen a controller board go in a dishwasher cost of the board is $190.00 + installation. Never buying a Samsung kitchen appliance again. Samsung you should stick to TVs and cell phones.
I purchased 4 Samsung kitchen appliances August 1, 2014 when I moved into my retirement home. Since that time - within the first 18 months, my microwave had 4 service calls. Gratefully, I maintained my Home Warranty protection that was provided for the home and have renewed that warranty annually. The home warranty company ORHP - sent appliance technicians out and a Samsung certified technician who could not repair the microwave. Eventually, after 3 weeks they replaced the microwave with a Samsung upgraded unit. It is still working 2 years later. Now the refrigerator icemaker freezes up and I have to use a hair dryer monthly to defrost the ice build up in the icemaker box. The refrigerator is a French door model that has a flipper on the left door which locks in place that door when closing. It also broke. After reviewing some online videos, I ordered a small tension spring for $8 + shipping, popped the flipper bar apart, replaced the tension spring, and fixed the issue. Now, in September 2018, my dishwasher has broke not allowing the door to close and lock. The repair part is available and easily replaced so I had the home warranty company send out a tech who replaced the part on 9/12/18. On 9/23/18 after loading dishwasher after a BBQ with friends, the same problem re-appeared. To top that off, I recorded the dishwasher while in the rinsing and drying cycle so the tech can hear hit. I re-played the recording for my wife and daughter who thought I went to an airport and recorded a jet taking off or landing...the noise decibel level is high...My Samsung 5 burner stove - I find that the grates are not really safe and worry when the grandkids are at the home. When you put a frying pan or pot on the grates - they wobble until you position them just right. They are not made with enough cross members to support smaller pots or frying pans. On more than one occasion, I put an 8 frying pan on the grate to fry eggs and the pan just flops downward until the handle touches the stove or countertop. You need to counterbalance the pan with the eggs and position carefully. I am negotiating selling my 4 appliances to a relative to place into one of her rental homes and buying a completely different brand.
Samsung NE59K3310 Electric Range - Just bought it brand new from Lowes and the oven never gets up to the set temperature. When the beeps ring out that it is at set temp we only get 200 degrees and wait for over 15 minutes to get to 335 degrees. We bought an oven temperature gauge to test it. I followed the factory adjustment procedure and increased it by 15 degrees. Now the oven takes 30min to get to 350 degrees but drops to under 300 degrees within five minutes and doesnt come back up. Before I called to get it fixed I googled Samsung ovens and find so many defective units. Its mind boggling. I have decided to return it to Lowes and buy a GE, Whirlpool, Maytag or ANYTHING else. The other problem is the amount of pressure it takes to activate the controls. Being male with no fingernails makes it easier, but my darling has to use her knuckle to press to get enough pressure to activate the controls.
We purchased about 5 years ago. 2 years in, had ice in freezer. From there situation got worse, water on floor ice, in fridge. Chalked it up to a lemon until I read all these reviews. Then I got mad. Called Samsung only to be told out of warranty. Nothing we can do... Try standing behind the crap you make. NEVER AGAIN.
I just purchased all new Samsung kitchen appliances. The dishwasher was broken. It ran, but would not turn off even when I opened the door. I had to turn off circuit breaker. Called Lowes, and they replaced with a new one. They were great about it as I said I did not intend on having to pay my contractor a second time to install it, they completed the installation. Now it runs, but does not dry dishes. I purchased the rinse agent as I was advised, used it, still does not dry dishes. Today I used the sanitize option which was suggested in manual to get dishes dry...still not dry. I also have a very bad smell coming from dishwasher when there are no dirty dishes in it. It smells like garbage. So today I called Lowes and spoke to my salesman. I am NOT going to re-purchase a Samsung. He is going to have his department manager call me tomorrow. Again, I dont want to pay installation, but either way I am so disappointed. So far I am happy with refrigerator, stove, and microwave, but have only had them two weeks.
We purchased a Samsung elec. range (FTQ353IWUX) in 2009/2010 from Best Buy with an extended warranty. Within the first year, the oven would initially come up to temp. but not hold that temp. and actually begin to fall off. Best Buy had a Geek Squad rep come out. He changed $400 in parts without fixing the problem. When, at my recommendation, he finally began to do some troubleshooting, we found that one of the wires to the baking element had burned off. He cut back the wire and installed a new terminal lug. As of this week, the same old problem surfaced. Being that the unit is now out of warranty, and me being a retired industrial electrician, I shut off the supply power and opened up the back of the range. I found that not only had the same wire burned off its terminal lug but additionally, the two power wires that feed the broiler element had burned up as well.I called Samsung today. I was told that since it is out of warranty, it is basically my problem even though this very same issue occurred while it was under warranty. They offered to have a service co. come out and look at the unit, at my cost. Right. Thank you so much Samsung, for nothing. I explained to the Samsung rep that with these wires being burned up, there were only a limited number of possibilities as to the cause including undersized wiring, undersized terminal lugs, and/or poor crimp connections. Her response was only that it was out of warranty. I expressed my concern that this was a safety issue but that too seemed to fall on deaf ears. Wow. This company really sucks!!
We purchased our Samsung Stainless Steel Over the Range Microwave from Best Buy in March 2010. 17 months later, the microwave has stopped heating completely and is not under warranty. So frustrating. We had to get our 15-year old small countertop microwave out of the garage to use until we decide what other expensive brand we want to waste our money on. To invest in nice appliances is a joke and there should be a class action lawsuit.
I have the RF31FMESBSR/AA refrigerator and like so many others, the ice maker is broken and does not work completely. I called an appliance repair company to come in and fix it and they said its not able to be fixed unless I wanted to pay over $1,000, and it wasnt even guaranteed to be fixed at that price. He also said hes seen many other Samsung refrigerators have the same issue, it was not even worth it to be repaired.
The ice maker made on the door does not function well, it freezes up. I am on the way to buy old fashioned ice cube trays. Its a great concept to save freezer space but isnt working.
I bought a Samsung RF266 in 2008 after reading reviews on several websites about how convenient and reliable they were. Talk about bunk, I really wonder if these companies pay for those endorsements. I have had nothing but problems with this pile of junk. The ice maker falls apart constantly and rarely works right. And then, the fridge completely froze up inside. The repairman told me to let it thaw out 24 hours before he can come work on it (what am I supposed to do with the food in the meantime?). And then, he said hes not sure whats wrong with it. He spent an hour on the phone with a Samsung tech (which he charged me $48 for) and replaced a part that took 3 days to get. That didnt fix it. He rebated the labor but I was still stuck with the part ($65). I waited 3 more days for another part, which still didnt fix it. Two days later, we got another part, which did fix it. Samsung technical said that both parts were bad. I paid $1,800 for the unit. And I have, to date, spent nearly $900 in repair bills, not to mention what Ive suffered in food loss. Im also told there is a class action lawsuit over this issue that Im having. But I cant find access to the site where I can get in on it. My best advice: If you really want to buy a Samsung, buy an extra fridge in case the main Samsung goes down.
We bought this double range in 2014. On Jan of 2017 we were moving the range to have a new floor put in. When the floor was done we moved the range back to where it was and plugged it in. When we did this it blew the breaker. We then shut off the electric and checked the range. We could smell smoke from the back of the range. We took the back of the power cover off and found the black plastic clamp that holds the wire to the power cord let go and the wires hit the cover and shorted out the range. I was told that there was nothing that could be done. I feel this is a serious safety issue and it could cause serious problems or fire. Will not buy another.
Purchased new in Dec. 2013 for $1150. Since new it has had two thermostats, upper cooler doors(?), lower cooler doors(?), fan motor, and ice maker replaced, very little of it under warranty. Hands down the worst service history of any appliance ever purchased. I dont care much about having to create an account to warn other consumers about the poor quality of Samsung refrigerators.
Firstly, I wish I had read these Samsung stove reviews prior to my purchase. :( This stove got 4.5 stars on PC Richards site which is one of the reasons that I bought it. I purchased the Samsung NX58M6650W Gas Range in November of 2017. I purchased this stove solely for the price and way it looked as I am not a person that cooks a lot and barely do I use an oven. I was upgrading my kitchen and looking for a stainless steel stove to replace my old one. Its a very nice looking stove but obviously looks can be deceiving. After my 4th time using the oven, which was all day on Thanksgiving Day 2018, I noticed that the control panel was warped almost looking like it had melted. I called Samsung for repair and they gave me a courtesy extension my warranty (2 weeks out of warranty) and offered a free repair. In my eyes a barely used stove should not have any issues in just over 12 mos, but thats just me. I had my rinky Hotpoint Stove for 17 years and not ONE need for repair. Anyway the repairman came and fixed the stove. He replaced the old control panel which means removing around 20 screws un-wiring/detaching and re-wiring a new control panel. Also needs to be mentioned, the control panel on the stove is made of plastic! Now that can be a problem if your stove gets hot. Repair seemed successful but two days later, the timer isnt working. For reference, the timer is in the same place on the panel that warped after using the oven for several hours. Needless to say I am furious. Samsung insists on sending out another repairman, but I want this stove replaced (not with a Samsung if thats possible). If you read the reviews, you have no doubt that this stove is problematic in its design. I watched the repair, and with all the fine wiring on a plastic panel, how will there not be problems? Samsung has been giving me somewhat of a runaround and does not seem to stand behind their product. Im sure problems will continue to occur based on all of the reviews and research Ive done. I have been on the phone with them 5 times. I have another appointment for repair since they say that this is the best that they can do since I am now out of warranty. Im with the other reviewer that says Class Action. I will try to update this review after my next repair visit, but in the interim, this stove is sorely disappointing. Stay away from this stove.
Sometimes I find items that are slightly frozen in the refrigerator and the air circulation could be better. But I still love Samsung Refrigerator.
The worst product I bought last year, Samsung 5 in 1 551L RT56K6378SL/TL refrigerator. Do not burn your hard earned money on Samsung India products. I bought the refrigerator for Approx 68000/- and the motherboard on it went bad as if the timer was set to go bad when out of warranty after one year. Now they want to charge me another Rs4000/- to replace the motherboard. Samsung India uses all faulty, substandard products. DONT BUY anything from Samsung India.
I wouldnt recommend this refrigerator. After only two months, the water line started leaking. The product was still under warranty. Samsung could not repair the water line hose nor would they agree to replace the refrigerator. The water line connects near the floor and Samsung claimed that the damage was caused by me. Horrible experience. Thankfully, Best Buy let me return the refrigerator - no questions asked.
We used a few traditional ranges during last decades but none of them had this problem like samsung. We purchased one samsung range two weeks ago and got the following problem: If you drop a single water on the cooktop surface, it will create a stain on it and you cannot remove it at all without spending five minutes using a wire ball! We used this range for just a couple of weeks but it looks like a ten year old one! Looks so ugly!
We purchased our Samsung range from Lowes. The range works exactly as it is supposed to. The convection is a definite added plus that cooks food so much quicker. We have not tried the air fryer yet. The “Smart” feature allows us to preheat, or cook anything in the range without having to touch the oven. So far we are extremely pleased with our purchase.
I purchased a Samsung ceramic top range and cannot say enough great things about it. It works as advertised and has loads of fantastic features. The oven is by far the best convection oven out there. I have bought many Samsung products and have always been happy with the function and quality of them. I truly cant say anything bad about Samsung.
We bought the Samsung French doors with a bottom freezer. The ice tray went out in about a year. Three years later, the contents in the refrigerator started freezing. We had a repairman look at it. He said it would cost $1200.00 to fix it. So after four years we had to purchase another refrigerator. OMG how disappointed. We will never buy Samsung anything again.
Only had Samsung stove for 1 year an stopped working. Wish I would have listened to my guy when I decided to switch all of my appliances out to Samsung. Purchased the Samsung 5.9 cu. ft. Free-Standing Electric Range with True Convection oven. Nothing no longer works but the stove clock. The stove top and oven stopped heating up. I did purchase an extended warranty. So we will see how this plays out when the technician shows up.
My smaller LG wash machine broke due to heavy load during high speed. Its ball bearing part was a lower quality as a result. So I bought the slightly bigger Samsung wash machine and interesting the LG electric dryer does fit on top of Samsung using LG's frame. So far had no problem and impressive wash performance with that new wash machine. Still love it so much after one year of using.
Beware Samsung microwaves. I have one that activates on its own. Very dangerous but Samsung support unwilling to do anything because I dont have a receipt! It came with a motor home. Support couldnt even locate the model even after I sent photos of the label. Also, there was a recall on Samsung for this exact problem.
Me and my husband got the Samsung French door with bottom freezer refrigerator in January 2014. The bottom of the French doors underneath the plastic drawers - its froze with sheet of ice and the plastic drawers have water inside them. Also my freezer has ice all in it beside the ice maker and it has froze food to the fridge. My left front handle has paint chipped off of it. We have contacted Aarons in Dallas NC multiple times and they said they ordered new parts but then we keep going to pay the bill and they say it hasnt been ordered again. It hasnt been anything but a problem since we got it! I wont pay that much for a samsung refrigerator again and ours is almost paid for. And wish I knew the bad stuff before getting ours!!
I too bought a Samsung Model RF4287HARS/XAA and spent over $3000 for it while doing a remodel in our kitchen. We designed our kitchen around this (what we thought to be beautiful refrigerator) just to have our new wood floors ruined by this POS! The ice maker dumps ice everywhere. Water runs and freezes under the drawer to the point we cant open the drawer. Then it runs all over the floor and under the fridge. Weve called customer service several time to no avail. Biggest junk Ive bought!
I too bought the French Doors Samsung refrigerator. Five ice maker repairs, water in floor, 80 degrees in fridge side and the clicking of the fan as it starts hitting ice buildup and then dies a painful death. This refrigerator is truly junk and is not inexpensive. I have had it four years and as I type this it is not working. Tech suppose to come Tuesday the 14th of August. Repair if able to be repaired will only last short while. To say the least I am give up fooling with this expensive piece of junk and will never buy another Samsung fridge.
I purchased a Samsung refrigerator in November 7, 2012. The first one I received did not cool immediately. HH Gregg thought they would send someone out to fix it, a 1600.00 brand new fridge. I told them absolutely not, it would be replaced. The fridge was replaced week of Thanksgiving. The problem is that this new fridge the shelves are all cracked as though there is some type of defect in manufacturers plastic. Long story short I have a 5 year warranty with HH Gregg and they stated there was nothing they could do. I feel ripped off by HH Gregg and Samsung.
I have complained many times to Samsung about my expensive dishwasher which will not clean dishes. The first service call was because I had to keep flipping the breaker. The service man knew exactly what to replace when I told him about the breaker. He said it was a defect in this Samsung dishwasher. I have called numerous times concerning dirty dishes and they have a lousy excuse about aluminum causing it or phosphate being removed from detergents. I now have a dishwasher 3 months out of warranty that impellers do not spin and spray, fills and drains okay. Now I dont know what to do. Should I request an expensive service call? Or buy another dishwasher that has been recommended as great to clean dishes?
After hurricane Sandy I bought all Samsung appliances, I may add that my neighbor also bought same appliances. Within a year, refrigerators both mine and my neighbor was leaking, within 3 years, both our microwaves broke, hmmm coincidence??? Within 3 years also, our shelves in our refrigerators developed stress cracks in all glass shelving supports, within 5 years, my neighbors refrigerator broke, Samsung hasnt honored anything, so she bought a different name. Within 5 years, my dishwasher broke, Samsung dont wanna hear it. I am so disappointed in Samsung that none of their appliances are reliable, and break after 5 years, it cheap in price though! My fridge was 1000, my dishwasher was 700, my stove was 800, my microwave was 400, Samsung said sorry, after 1 year go screw yourself!!
Purchased this in Sept 2015. Very upset the way the 3 panel glass on the oven door is getting drips (inside the glass). I keep it clean and there is no way to clean this mess. Why is it that this could happen in a new stove/oven? :(
We have a Samsung refrigerator that the inside back of the refrigerator freezes and doesnt cool. I called Samsung and they couldnt even find the serial number even though the lady tried six different times. I researched online and there is other models doing the same thing. I was taught that you get what you pay for but not in this case. I am very dissatisfied with this product.
I bought a Samsung French Door RFG297 refrigerator in Dec. 2011. It broke down after 2 years. First sign is the ice melted and spilt water all over because the ice melted and then not make any ice anymore after one day; the freezer is not cold anymore. Please read the reviews before you buy a Samsung refrigerator because I really care, and I don’t want it to happen to you. I wish I read all of the reviews about this product before I bought it. I even called customer care if a lot of people make complaints about Samsung refrigerator, and she said no because I told her I saw a hundred complaints about the same problem. I asked her if the company is doing something or a recall of the product and she said no. Please keep putting on reviews about this product, because I still expect mass recall for this refrigerator.
I have a less than 2 yr. old Samsung 4-door fridge. Two months after I got it the ice maker started dripping. It took 7 service calls to finally fix it by replacing the fan on the motor. Now it is only cooling to 50 degrees in the fridge part. Freezer is ok. I called Home Depot warranty dept. and they called a TV repair shop (???) to come look at it. The shop told me they wanted to order parts before looking at it. Ten days later they tell me the parts arent all in and they will try to make it out on Mon (this is Fri) if the parts come in. This is so unacceptable! I would think a fridge that cost over $3000 should not be breaking down in the first place. Samsung says since I didnt buy their warranty, tough luck. After reading all of the reviews, I have a really bad feeling about this whole mess. Whatever happened to good service???UPDATED ON 09/24/2015: In my review back in July I reported that my Samsung fridge was not cooling and that I was having difficulty getting someone to repair it. Since then, the TV repair place called and said the compressor was out and they couldnt fix it because it takes R600 refrigerant and they didnt deal with it. Since it was supposedly the compressor, it was covered by Samsung, who sent yet another guy out to look at it; he said it was not the compressor but the computer board, so Samsung wouldnt cover it. After many back and forth calls to Home Depot, they finally sent me a check for the full price of my fridge, plus $300 for lost food. They told me to dispose of the fridge however I wanted to. Long story short, my brother-in-law from Florida, who has done appliance repair for 40 years, came up. Within an hour, he had recharged the compressor with R134 refrigerant and told me it had a very minute leak that wouldnt give me problems for a very long time. That was Aug. 1. The fridge has ran perfectly ever since. Upon returning to FL, he found out that Samsung had, in fact, recalled this fridge on July 1. So, I dont know how long this fix will last, but so far, so good. Anyone else in this situation should press Samsung for a refund. Apparently there is a problem with using R600 in the States, which they should have known before they started selling them here. Guess they figured they could just sell you a new one when this one died. Go figure!
The model I have is 5 years and the freezer does not work. I call Samsung. They send a tech once then another one. They fix the problem then two months later the same problem again. Call Samsung again. They told me the fridge was out of warranty that I have to pay 950 dollars to get it fix. Guess what I am still fighting with them. Dont buy a Samsung refrigerator. Dont do it.
RS265TDRS - Purchased this fridge about 3 years ago. Fan started making a loud purring sound when cycling, then after a couple of days, the refrigerator stopped cooling. Spent $350.00 to put in a new computer board, thermostat and sensor. Now, two months later, it is repeating the issue -- loud cycling of fan and quit cooling. I have just purchased a new refrigerator and will NEVER buy a Samsung product again! Found this website when fridge died the first time and knew it was just a matter of time before it would crap out again. Shame on Samsung for making a product with a defective twin cooling system. Would like to be part of a class action lawsuit on this.
We purchased the induction stove Nov 2013. Paid around $2000 and now it is trash. Called customer service and they said I needed a repair person. E-84 shows up on the screen and nothing works. I shut off power to try and reset and nothing worked. Repairs could be very expensive from some information I got so I am not going to take a chance and waste more money. I will not buy any Samsung products in the future.
There are so many of the reviews here with the exact issue I’ve had with the Samsung French Door refrigerator but I thought I would add my two cents just in case someone may still be considering buying one of these things! The ice maker has been a constant issue and I’ve had repair after repair called in on it. It completely freezes up and stops working, leaks water all over the place. It’s unbelievably annoying. I had the 4 year extended warranty with Lowe’s so I haven’t had to pay for these repairs but now I’ll have to be paying out of pocket for anything. Every couple weeks we have to defrost the ice maker. Lowe’s tells us now that they only consider a product a lemon if the same call is made 3xs in 30 days, well I could’ve met that criteria if I had felt like dealing with service calls over and over. However, had I known that I would have dealt with it. There is a class action lawsuit on this matter. Bottom line...run from Samsung.
I bought the Samsung french door refrigerator which was not inexpensive but I thought it would be worth the money. As soon as the warranty was out, it started to make a really loud noise. Apparently, frost builds up behind a panel that I cannot access and the circulation fan hits the ice. I have had a repairman out twice. Samsung says to unplug it for 5 hours and let the Ice melt. I have to do this every 5 days. Sadly, this is junk and I am probably going to have to get a new refrigerator after only three years. If there was a lower review that one star, I would give it.
Looking for a new fridge freezer, there standing proudly is a Samsung American style Fridge Freezer, boasting a unique 10 year warranty on the fridge freezer COMPRESSOR. We had the item 2 years when the compressor failed and had it replaced, now a 2 further years on it fails again, we call Samsung and explain our problem with the 2 year old replaced compressor and Samsung proudly informed us YES indeed we will honour our pledge displayed on our Freezers and we shall supply you with a brand new compressor, Er BUT you will have to have it installed yourself as that is the extent of our warranty, the small print if you like, Yet another customer sucked in and duped by a multinational company. Well done. Senior citizens cough up for their own idiocy of believing the embossed sign on Samsung products. Shameful but cost effective.
Purchased the Samsung refrigerator Model #RSG257AARS on March 28, 2010 from HH Gregg. July 22, 2013, the refrigerator stopped working. We had never received a written warranty. Looked on Internet at Samsung website and it said there was a ONE-YEAR warranty. Called a repairman. Compressor was bad. Cost of repair approximately $1200. Cost of service call, $80. A couple of days later, the repair company called and said the compressor was under warranty and they would fix it. August 23, 2013 refrigerator stopped working a second time. According to the repairman, Samsung products are JUNK! We looked at Consumer Guides before purchasing and this refrigerator was at the top of the list. Why? I also found (on the Internet) a class action suit filed against Samsung for their shoddy refrigerators. Repairman said Samsung is flooding the market with products that are untested. We have a 45-year-old General Electric refrigerator in our garage that is working fine. That is where our food is right now.
We love the fridge with four French doors and a preview door. Lower right compartment can switch from freeze to fridge with just a touch on the control panel. However, the ice maker too small and runs out of ice often and we are a household with only two people.
Very disappointed with Samsung microwave and lack of support for this widely reported issue. Microwave failed after 1.5 years which is pathetic. They may make decent phone, but stay away from their appliance if you know what is good for you.
Ive had this refrigerator for approximately 2 years and during this time the ice maker has gone out twice. In June of 2015 I paid to have a new ice maker installed as the old one stopped making ice. Just over three months later the ice maker went out again and I missed the warranty date by three days, so Im asked to pay another $495 for a new one. I have had several refrigerators and never had an ice maker go out until I purchased this Samsung. I feel Samsung owes me the cost of this ice maker. Your response to this would be appreciated.
RFG297AA/XAA - My wife purchased this fridge from Lowes 03/09/2009. We had a problem of water pooling and freezing the deli tray to freezer. I finally removed back panel to take a look at frozen coil. There is a drain so I am not sure why water is draining to interior of fridge. After reading comments this is definitely a common problem for Samsung fridges, but when speaking with customer service they do not seem to have any knowledge of problem.
We have had our new Samsung microwave (Model ME21H706MQS) for less than 1 month. The turn table has stopped spinning because the glass plate no longer engages with the spinning wheel which appears to have dropped down. The motor still rotates but it no longer catches the plate. When I called Samsung customer support I got a guy that spoke with such poor diction that I had to have him repeat everything 3 times. Waiting now for a service appointment. Keep you posted.
Purchased Samsung Model #RF24FSEDBSR French door refrigerator in 2014, and shortly after began having numerous problems with both the ice maker and the overall temperature control. Had a factory authorized service tech come out, who told us the ice maker is a defective design for which Samsung has no solution. He stated he has seen hundreds of these, and there is no fix. The ice maker does not make more than one batch of ice each 24-hour cycle (sometimes not even that). It will not dispense cubed ice (crushes it every time), and water runs out of the dispenser, filling the glass with ice and water. It freezes solid, thaws, and then freezes again, requiring that we defrost the ice maker every other day. (Are you freaking kidding me??!!)The temperature controls are fickle, often not holding the temperature at the setting selected. This refrigerator was purchased as part of a total kitchen remodel, and we thought we were getting a great value. Instead, it has turned out to be a huge POS costing us money for attempted repairs and a great deal of frustration. I will not buy another Samsung refrigerator again, and I will discourage everyone I know from ever doing so. Their claims of reliability ring hollow, and their customer service on this product is nothing but a cruel, pathetic joke. Do not buy this, or any other Samsung refrigerator.
SMH9187b microwave - SE error code appeared on this two-year-old unit. I followed the troubleshooting instructions with no results. I had their authorized service tech come out, cost $85, to the house. He said we needed a new control panel, $280. I said, Thats too expensive. Whoops, he found a loose wire. It worked fine for two days then the SE code reappeared. Were seniors so this thing is not abused. Looking online, it seems this unit has many other unhappy owners. It seems to me this may be related to the prior recall.
After a year and half, the dishwasher pump needed to be replaced. When I called Samsung to have it repaired, they said its not under warranty. Do not buy a Samsung dishwasher. The worst customer service and dishwasher.
I purchase this Samsung refrigerator three years ago. It’s been very noisy from day and recently it started leaking water and iced up even though its a frost free fridge. It not cooling food properly and it stop working altogether six days ago. I now have to purchase a new refrigerator. I will never been buying any Samsung appliances again. I feel totally ripped off.
Word to the wise.. Never buy kitchen appliances from Sears as they have no service department. Their service work is subbed out to other companies. When you call them for service work you will be talking to someone who sounds like he or she is from Pakistan or Korea. They are extremely expensive and you have to work around their schedule. I have owned a new SAMSUNG Refrigerator for less than five years. We purchased the three-year warranty when we purchased it, but it did us no good as the Refrigerator quit working and couple of months, after the warranty expired. The unit started to make a clicking noise and then it quit cooling. The service guy shows up after going through the circus of getting him out there to tell us that the unit is frozen and he sees this issue quite often. He charges me $225.00 to defrost the frozen motor and he tries to sell me another one year warranty for $300 plus dollars. Its now 13 months later and we are experiencing the same symptoms. The fan motor starts the clicking noise and the unit quits cooling. I called Samsung to let them know what was going on and to see if they help me out because of the lemon that I purchased from them. They were not willing to work with me in any way. I have a KitchenAid refrigerator outside that I have owned for ten plus years and I havent had the first problem with the unit. I am done with the Korean Samsung Products.. Buy American made products!!
This is my second horrible review of Samsung Refrigerators. I purchased a new side by side Samsung Refrigerator one year ago after having an old 28 year old GE Refrigerator that gave me no problems whatsoever. I purchased a 4 year warranty (what a waste of money). So the last time I complained about the scratches on the part where you fill your glass with water and ice and Samsung said that is cosmetic and nothing can be done. I suppose you should be using paper cups to fill your water instead of glass. The refrigerator already looks like it is about 20 years old. This time the large shelf in the middle of the refrigerator cracked for no apparent reason. I contacted Samsung and they again told me that this is not covered (what a surprise). I will never buy anything that has a Samsung name attached to it!!!
I own numerous Samsung appliances - TVs, Washer, Dryer, and Stove. I also owned (and just removed) a malfunctioning Samsung Over the Range Microwave. I purchased it, knowing it had reliability issues, but it matched my stove and was the right price - so I gave it a shot. Let me first of all state that it made some funny buzzing noises that I didnt like. The keypad never worked great, either, but after about 5 years it may be, it certain buttons became harder to push, and eventually some buttons (and then almost all buttons) stopped working, entirely.Long story short, given another Samsung should have a similarly mounting system, I took a shot and attempted to order another Samsung (yes I know). Well, get this, I order it from Lowes and after multiple bad delivery dates from the Samsung distributor, I ended up having to cancel my order. Yes, even Samsungs own delivery of their microwaves turned out to be a nightmare. That said, I gave up and chose a Whirlpool that looks great, has great review, has a blue readout that match my Samsung stoves blue readout (that was a big deal, btw), and it has good reliability ratings according to Consumer Reports. All in all - Id say the moral of the story here, is to just avoid Samsung microwaves.
I have just spent the last half hour reading comments on good old Samsung Refrigerator. I have had a problem for the past year and now comes a time. Where do I start? Whats the cost? The digital front settings are being controlled by a ghost; bounces from ice to water, doesnt stop. Cost? Water on the floor. Ice built up on the back of the fridge really thick and water steady on the bottom of the drawers. Cost? Any advice besides throw it to the curb like people have said? Nice fridge; but really, how much money does an average person need to fix repairs? I was going to try and tackle project by myself but will it work or continue the hair dryer every couple of months thawing it out and putting up with dings on the front panel deciding what it wants to do? Any suggestions? Obviously not after reading the reviews. Would never recommend Samsung to anyone. Bad, bad choice I am just fed up with this problem. Thanks Samsung for the Lemon.
I purchased a Samsung fridge/freezer from currys store wednesbury, Birmingham on the 2/7/2011, it was delivered on the 9/7/2011 the freezer door has a hole in it there is a crack in the door and the plastic is bubbled I have phone the customer services three times regarding this matter the 3rd person i spoke to Richard Coyne stated that there was no record of my telephone calls on the 23/7/2011 or the 24/7/2011, he claimed that someone will contact me within 24hrs that was on the 25/7/2011 and i am still waiting the service is appauling, as within my rights i want a replacement or a full refund asap
Ive had a Samsung range for 4 months and am extremely disappointed with it. The black glass top is amazingly cheap for such an expensive range. It is impossible to keep clean and scratches very easily. I had my old GE range for 10 years and it still looked like new when I replaced it with this Samsung. In just 4 months, this range looks old and worn. Every pot scratches the surface. I only use the pad and cleaner supplied with the range and even that scratches the surfaces. Plus, any spillovers go down into the vents and streak the oven door glass. I contacted Samsung and they sent out a technician who took pictures and said Samsung would call me. Its been 3 weeks and no call.
I love the fridge but the freezer side is just not enough room for a family of four. The ice maker takes up space we need for food. I love the flexibility on the fridge side and the space is small but does work since no operational parts take up key areas.
My Samsung dishwasher worked perfectly until one day it simply stopped working -- no lights, nothing. I called Samsung and was told if it was the control board it would be a warranty repair, but if it was the front panel it would not be. The authorized service repair company came and --without running any diagnostics -- replaced the front panel, and charged me about $300. The unit worked for a week, and then the same problem reappeared. They came back to do the work. Samsung said would be a warranty repair -- replace the control board -- but then after the work was completed, charged me $140 for the board anyway! After many contacts with Samsung, which agreed repeatedly that the control board was a warranty repair, I was never able to get the money refunded and Samsung failed to follow through with numerous promised phone calls. I would never buy another Samsung product after this experience (which is particularly a shame since Ive been a loyal Samsung customer for years -- phones, TVs, memory cards, etc.).
2 years ago my refrigerator went out on a Friday night. Because I needed a fridge right away, I ended up buying a Stainless Steel Samsung, French door with bottom freezer at Home Depot. It was the worst decision I have ever made. In the summer I have to buy ice because it does make enough. The handle on the freezer broke and to fix it, it would cost 600$ because they would have to replace the entire door. Then the cheap plastic pull out drawers cracked. Now the freezer has stopped working. I will probably end up having to buy another new refrigerator.
Ticket # ** When I purchased my oven 5 years ago, I called them after having it under a year. My complaint was that it feel like it was getting overly hot! I was told that I just wasn’t use to the newer ovens but, I did notice some melting on the top of the front door and burn marks. Anyway long story short, my bake element was no longer heating. I would turn it up to 350 and it would go right back to 200. I called Samsung again. They promised me a one time parts and labor repair, which I do have in writing. The parts were so called ordered and then I get a message from them stating that they will not replace the bake heating element and the motherboard because of the physical damage from the heating element. Now mind you the damage is from a defective oven. Been going back and forth with them. Every time they approve it, a few hours later the approval is rejected. The rest of my stove looks brand new because I have always taken care my appliances! I’ve also had problems with my ice maker freezing up, which I had serviced privately and so far so good! But, I will never purchase another Samsung appliance ever again! Now theyre saying they won’t repair it because it’s a potential high risk hazard. On the next note if I pay for it out of pocket they will repair it! Nothing like talking out of the two sides of your mouth! I do have in writing a one time Labor and parts repair. Which they’re totally refusing to stand by their word.
Microwave just over 2 years old model SMH8165ST. I got the SEcode. I took it apart, cleaned all the terminals. Now the touch pad doesnt work. I called Samsung, got a guy on the phone, who was very bad with English. I tried to explain the problem to him. He couldnt understand me. Im very frustrated. I seen all these negative reviews on the Samsung microwaves. The bottom line is Samsung microwaves are JUNK!!!!
We have our third replacement refrigerator from Best Buy, and still have an issue with the ice maker. First were the squeaky wheels on the freezer drawer below, which a subsequent Geek Squad member fixed with Vaseline, Three same issues with the ice maker, which will not make solid cubes, instead it makes a mixture of solid and cracked when set to solid or cracked ice selection. All three refrigerators have had the problem, and all the Geek Squads respond that the Samsungs all have this problem. If that is the case, why have the full cube selector? Thus, while we like the design of the fridge, this annoying feature must be a design flaw. We are going to try an LG, and then go back to our old fridge.
Worst stove range, and worse part is that Samsung wont do anything, the grills are made out of cheap materials and Samsung knows but they try and make you believe that you dont know how to clean them, plus the grease bakes on the grill and wont clean.
