Samsung Refrigerator Model RF23J9011SR
My Samsung Microwave was getting old and stopped working. It just wouldnt start up. A few hours later I heard an explosion in the kitchen. It was on fire. I could not extinguish it until I thought to unplug it and pour water on top of the flames through the ventilation grates on the top. The cabinet above the microwave had just started to burn so Im sure that there would have been a serious fire had I not been at home. Later I read about popping noises being a warning sign that something is wrong and I did hear a few pops before it stopped working. Please unplug your microwave if you hear popping and call the company or a repairman. I wish I had known that the popping is a sign that my microwave was in serious trouble. I had never heard about the dangers of a microwave that had stopped working. Register your microwave so that you will be informed of problems with the model you buy.
This is the third year for this refrigerator and we have replaced the Ice maker last fall. In mid-May, the entire fridge crapped out. There is a leak in the system and the repair could be $200-$1000. No support from Samsung at all. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER SAMSUNG PRODUCT AGAIN! By the way, my 25-year Magic Chef is still chugging along quite happily keeping my beer and now my household food.
Updated on 09/27/2019: 4 Broken Ice Makers in 7 years. I have a side-by-side RSG307AARS Samsung refrigerator with 29.6 cu. ft. I purchased in July 2012. The ice maker has broken 4 times. The sensor that controls the paddle arm that ejects the ice cubes has failed each time. The first time it broke, Samsung paid as it was still under warranty. The second time being out of warranty, I paid $400, including parts and labor to replace. The third time I paid for labor only. This latest time Samsung says I have to pay all. Ive contacted their CEO through Email and phone to make them realize that the ice maker and subsequent ice makers have a defective sensor and like an automobile should be recalled and repaired at their expense with a sensor that wont break every year and a half. They refuse. I will never buy a Samsung product again; from what Ive read on the Internet, their refrigerators are the worst. Should have done my homework better 7 years ago. Let that be a warning. I have finally decided to junk it and Wednesday went to Lowes and bought a Whirlpool on sale with an extended 5 year warranty. And, if I never use the warranty, I get money refunded. Whats the chance of that?Original Review: Purchased refrigerator (RSG307AARS) Jul. 2012. Ice maker stopped making ice Oct. 2012. Repairman had to replace the ice maker and 2 circuit boards; this repair was warranted. Per repairman, this was a known issue with Samsung. Feb. 2015 ice maker stopped making ice again; the lever under the ice maker cover thats supposed to come down after each round of ice cubes are dumped into the bucket and sense if more ice should be made stopped working. Repairman determines the ice maker needs to be replaced again. The gears for the same lever are broken. Called Samsung, even talked to a supervisor (maybe). Samsungs bottom line - its out of warranty so they wont do anything to keep me as a future customer. My bottom line - I wont buy another Samsung product.
Read all of the negative reviews on Samsung refrigerators. They all say the same thing.... Ice maker freezing up, water pooling in and under the meat and vegetable bends, water overflow on the floor, filter light will not go off. Dont just read what is said on this site... Go anywhere on the web. You will see nothing but the same negative reports. Samsung will not recall nor fix the problem. Samsung sent out a service memo to the companies who sell their refrigerator in June of 2015 advising them of existing problems with the refrigerator. Lowes sold me a Samsung refrigerator without telling me about the existing problems or the service memo. Samsung will not stand behind their product. The only way we, as consumers, can fight back is to boycott the company and the stores that sell their products. Consumers are fighting back... There is a class action law suit against Samsung over these faulty refrigerators. The stores who continue to sell Samsung products without telling the customer about existing problems should be sued also.
This oven heats quickly. It also has a warmer drawer, that has three settings. As most ovens do these days, it has self-cleaning. It also has a divider so that you do not have to heat the entire oven. It comes with three racks and a temp probe. Its got a bridge heating unit for cooking using a griddle, for example. Especially useful is the convection feature. Its easy to use, good features, clean easily, looks good.
I wish I would done more research before buying a Samsung fridge. What a waste of 3 grand!!! I have only own the fridge for 3 years and the company knows they have problems and refuses to help you or put a recall on their appliances. I will never buy a Samsung. Not even the phones cause they are a horrible company who does not care about the little people. I hope this suit goes through on them!!!
We purchased a Samsung French Door Refrigerator August 2014 and have had six going on seven service calls since July 2015 all for the same reason. Samsung will not allow us to see the Technician reports. The Technician is frustrated when he leaves because its not fixed but Samsung Support states that the reports says our refrigerator is operating normally. Samsung stated they will continue to repair but will not replace. We found out that policy is across the board. We did not check Reviews prior to purchasing the refrigerator and apparently they dont have the good reputation we thought. I have comments between Samsung and myself, but as I stated they wont allow us to view the reports. We do not have pictures because our main complaint now is the noise which we can hear over the TV.
We had the absolute worst experience with Samsung. We called because our freezer was 2.5 years old and both ice makers broken in addition to the freezer. Our freezer wasnt staying at the correct temperature. I called to see what, if anything they can do. They advised me that there is no warranty. I requested the information for an authorized Samsung repairer (they did not offer). I was told that I would need to call and set up the appointment since I was no longer under warranty. I expressed how disappointed I was that our refrigerator was broken and was under 3 years old. He continued to reminded me there is no warranty so that was the end of that. I then called the number provided by the Samsung representative and did not speak with anyone. I chatted with a representative over the internet and explained that I could not get in contact with them and explained that I am loyal customer of Samsung for over 10 years and am in need of assistance. He could not do anything other than tell me that my warranty has expired and that I should call the number provided. I called a total of 4 times and left 2 voice messages. I then contacted via chat to beg for help and he then provided a number to Samsung Emergency Help. However at this exact time my husband was at the house with an unauthorized repair company because we have now been 4 days without a refrigerator and have a house of 6 to provide for. The emergency repair representative said that they cannot help because an unauthorized has touched our appliance. The unauthorized repair man confirmed we had a freon leak which was the reason our temperature was not right in both the refrigerator and freezer compartments in addition to having broken ice makers. The Freon had a 5 year warranty and when a supervisor called me back she said I should have looked at the manual and that that was my responsibility. I reminded her that I told the rep I spoke with everything and I am not too savvy when it comes to diagnosing issues with my refrigerator so I did not know it was the freon, I clearly communicated that the freezer and refrigerator temps where not right and the original rep I communicated that too agreed but still told me I have no warranty so I believed I had no warranty.I was repeatedly blamed for not arguing with the rep about the freon and warranty issue. They blamed me for getting a unauthorized repair man, They said I should have kept calling them when I got no response from their authorized repair facility. The chat rep disconnected/hung up on me (still had questions), when I asked to speak with the supervisor - she stated, You actually spoke with my supervisor already, and went on to explain that her supervisor passed it to her to handle when I requested a supervisor and that I could not speak to anyone else. The supervisor blamed me for not setting an appointment up through them (even after I told her I was clearly told that I have to do it). I did not raise my voice nor did I at anytime use vulgarities or insult anyone that I spoke with.I reminded them that I was a loyal customer with over 14 Samsung products that includes appliances, phones, media equipment, and tables and it meant nothing. I suggested they at least give me a coupon to purchase something else and all was denied. I cannot and will not patronize a company that has such bad service. I talked to Samsung 3 times by phone when I called, 2 time when a supervisor called me, and 2 times by chat and I did not have an acceptable experience. I feel as if the product was defective if everything broke within a week of each other and it was only 2.5 years old. Terrible Service, no I am purchasing a new refrigerator and will not consider a Samsung product again.
When our microwave broke, we were planning to replace with the same brand we had, but the Samsung was such a handsome model, we were drawn to it. The price was better than the one we had, it looked better, and once it was installed (very easy, by the way) it was quieter than the old one, and worked just as well.
We purchased the Samsung refrigerator with french doors and icemaker in 2015. By 2018 the icemaker was constantly freezing up and had to be thawed, only to be frozen again in 10-14 days. It is now worthless, as the tray will not even fit into the icemaker casing. This is a known issue with this style refrigerator, yet Samsung is doing nothing. The repairs are way too expensive and even after several service calls and attempts to fix it, they still dont work. Do not purchase this style of Samsung refrigerator because you will encounter many problems with it. Maybe not at first, but give it time. Shame on Samsung for selling such a horrible appliance. There are hundreds, if not thousands of complaints on this product. Save yourself some money and headaches and look at another brand.
I bought a Samsung RF266 in 2008 after reading reviews on several websites about how convenient and reliable they were. Talk about bunk, I really wonder if these companies pay for those endorsements. I have had nothing but problems with this pile of junk. The ice maker falls apart constantly and rarely works right. And then, the fridge completely froze up inside. The repairman told me to let it thaw out 24 hours before he can come work on it (what am I supposed to do with the food in the meantime?). And then, he said hes not sure whats wrong with it. He spent an hour on the phone with a Samsung tech (which he charged me $48 for) and replaced a part that took 3 days to get. That didnt fix it. He rebated the labor but I was still stuck with the part ($65). I waited 3 more days for another part, which still didnt fix it. Two days later, we got another part, which did fix it. Samsung technical said that both parts were bad. I paid $1,800 for the unit. And I have, to date, spent nearly $900 in repair bills, not to mention what Ive suffered in food loss. Im also told there is a class action lawsuit over this issue that Im having. But I cant find access to the site where I can get in on it. My best advice: If you really want to buy a Samsung, buy an extra fridge in case the main Samsung goes down.
The fridge itself is ok. But we had a problem with the refillable water pitcher. Customer service was a nightmare. No one would validate the problem. Just hours upon hours of corporate propaganda and not owning up to their mistake. Plus the replacement parts are outrageously priced. There are plenty of good appliance makers out there - its not worth buying from Samsung.
Bought my Samsung dishwasher from HH Gregg. It started getting the LE code after 2 months. The first time the repair company came out they played dumb and said it was probably just because the top drawer wasnt pushed in all the way. Got the same code (and water everywhere) a week later. I have a video, but unfortunately I cant upload it here. Im certain there will be a class action suit for this piece of garbage. I dont understand how Samsung could have such a lack of testing and quality control on this appliance. I was starting to call myself a Samsung fan boy until this...
Horrible. Spent thousands on the refrigerator and now I see filter light on and learn I need to spend $45 every 6 months to replace water filter. Also, microwave filter needs to be replaced every 6 months as well- only $11 for that. Why didnt the Lowes salesman tell me I would need to spend additional money every 6 months and replace these filters? Also, when I called customer service I needed to ask him to spell out what he was saying because I could not understand a word. Not sure which country I reached but it sure wasnt the US. I will not even go into the fact that I also bought a Samsung electric oven/cooktop and needed to replace the cooktop after 3 months because it cracked. Samsung products are horrible. I will never purchase another Samsung appliance again.
I am pretty satisfied overall with my Samsung oven, it feels well built and has given no trouble. Aside from slow preheating I have no major complaints. I like the smart features, telling me when the food is done. Easy Changeability, Oven can be cleaned easily. Design looks very modern.
2014 model rh29h9000 - This model is extremely loud when cycles on. Looks great but have to exchange because of volume of motor. Exchange for the same model and the same problem occurred. If you like to listen to your refrigerator then this models for you. Too noisy. Will be exchanging this one as well. Samsung should stick with TVs.
I had a very bad experience with all of my home appliances. All Samsung especially, fridge and washing machine. I bought all my new house appliances from Samsung just only a year ago and now the washer and fridge are completely broken. Samsung customer service sent to my house a technician who came to fix it 4 times. Each time he said I have to change a certain part of washing machine. He has replaced everything in washer (board - hose - door assembly - filters) and finally he said, It’s manufacturing problem and you have to ask Samsung customer service to replace it or compensate you, but now and after 2 months of suffering with them, they refused and they want to try again to fix it. The customer service said, This is our policy to try many times. I can’t believe myself. It is a bad system for bad company. I do not advise anyone to deal with this deceptive company.
My Samsung microwave oven was purchased about 4 years before a move across several counties and lasted there about 6 more years. The oven was dark, rated about 1000 watts, and always cooked at an even pace. A bag of popcorn at 3.5 Oz. was usually cooked at 2 minutes, any more scorching the bag. My family used the dinner dish recook setting often. Some dinner plates were frozen while others were not, but the oven cooked them to a nice & hot serving temperature. The oven worked well daily until that final day when it quit for good. We replaced it with another Samsung microwave oven.
After 9 months of owning the refrigerator the refrigerator side stopped working. After a few days it turned back on, then it again turned off. The freezer side was still working with no problems. As soon as I was going to replace it, it turned on.
Quality, Repair and Customer Service Problems with Samsung RF266 - Our fridge stopped cooling 4 weeks ago. We called our home warranty for service. The authorized repair person was hired through Sears who showed up in week 2. The repair person notified us that the issue is with twin cooling system and it is a known issue. He added that to identify the leak, he needs to use a die test developed by Whirlpool. However, Samsung will not let them use this troubleshooting tool. If used, it would nullify Samsungs 5-year warranty on the twin cooling system. So $225 later, we were told to contact Samsung for repair. We ended up calling Samsung Customer Service three times. First time, they told us to call the same repair shop (A&E Factory Service). We said that A&E had already been on site. Then we were given the phone number for a second shop. That shop (Affordable Appliances) would not return our calls (5) or Samsungs (at a later time). Next time, we were told to call another repair shop which ends up being a Samsung TV authorized shop. On next call, we were told to wait for a call back from Executive Customer Service desk. The call came in many days later. They ensured us that they will work on identifying a repair shop. Couple of days later, Sammy rep called asking for a copy of purchase receipt. A copy was faxed the same day. We are still waiting for Samsung rep to call us back with a plan of action to fix this 3-year old fridge. Meanwhile, our home warranty team has been trying to find a repair shop who would work on Sammy fridge. They went through Sears to bring in a second tech. A second repair appointment was made to bring in a higher (supervisor) level tech. A week later, the same tech showed up. He advised us that he will do as his ticket instructs him. But without having Sammys authorization to use Whirlpool part to identify leak, he might not be able to help us. Two and half hours later, he left with no diagnosis (or fix).We directly hired another shop from a different town to repair the fridge. This tech came up with same conclusion that the problem must be Low/no coolant due to a possible leak. However, with Samsungs restrictions, he can easily identify the leak. So far, we have spent the following: $500 in spoiled food, $400 in tech visit, $500 in purchase of a utility fridge for garage, and more than a thousand for eating out every day. There is still no end in sight! Here is what we will do in our case: stay focus, keep calling Sammy to identify an authorized local repair shop, keep track of our communications with Sammy, and we will not give up on getting this unit repaired or replaced under warranty (from any party).I am a professional engineer with background in global product development and manufacturing with emphasis on quality. I have worked with (not for) Samsung in the past. Samsung is good, if not better than most companies in product development. Most other companies have outsourced their product design and/or manufacturing to 3rd tier companies in Asia. What we have here is a design related issue that surfaces any time between first and third year (based on all blogs). Samsung would not acknowledge the problem to avoid recall action. In situations like this, the legal team is in the driver seat to minimize the cost of recall and other associated expenses. In situations like this, the brand/company involved will try to drag the engagement as long as they can. This way, some of the customer will drop off and replace their units on their own. Some will pay to get their products fixed. Others will receive a full or partial payment from Brand/Company for repairs. Limited few might get some level of assistance with product replacement.
I recently purchased a Samsung gas stove. When I received it the bottom interior panel was defective. There were lines in the finish. I used the oven three times and the finish started to peel off of the stove. I put in a warranty claim and the claim was found to be physical damage and not covered. I paid $3600 for this stove. The defect is not physical damage. Even if it was the finish should not be peeling and flaking off after three uses or not at all! Samsung refuses to send another technician out to document the damage properly. The first technician could not take a decent picture to show the defect or the peeling. I could have taken a better picture myself. I would like Samsung to come back out and properly document and resubmit the claim. Three oven uses and the finish is peeling off! I thought Samsung was a good name. Apparently its not. The smell of the finish burning off the bottom panel cannot be good to be breathing in.
Samsung SR2545 refrigerator - In the last two months, we are getting pieces of ripped hose inside our cups when dispensing ice. We have checked all hoses, removed ice dispenser and searched everywhere for this line/hose thats tearing and falling into our cups. Help!
Our brand new refrigerator broke so we called, it took them a week to come, another week to get the part, another 2 weeks to get another part. Its now been 4 1/2 weeks. I said after the first 2 1/2 weeks they should replace the fridge. Samsung... said no. I am disabled and I dont drive. My husband travels and we live in the country so we buy a lot of food and then he flies out. We had just stocked the fridge. I lost over 1000K in food the first time. I called and spoke with a guy about getting reimbursed on the food loss and he said List everything and they would jump on it. A rude lady called me back after the fridge was fixed and said Samsung only gives out 200$ as a courtesy. Why did I go through all the hassle of listing everything if they only give 200$. I forgot to mention that my medicine has to be refrigerated so we had to go get ice every day and again I dont drive. It was horrible. My poor son had to go get us food every day and that was a terrible expense because eating out is so expensive. So now for the worst part. Three weeks later the refrigerator broke again. I called this time and said I just want the money to replace. Please hurry because we cant go buy a new one until we get the money from the old one. That was 6-21-17... Its now 7- 12-15. I was told it should only take 2-3. Its been three weeks and when you load my ticket number in the website it does not give any information. When the refrigerator broke the second time... (YES IT BROKE AGAIN). I even told the ride lady that it was not running well when she called about the first 200$. She said she would have someone call me to set up repairs etc. I never got that phone call. I lost another fridge full of food. So I get one more 200$. Thats all! I just now got an update on the first 200$.That took 2 months. If it takes that long to get the money for the refrigerator it will be terrible for my family. Im not sure what to do? Every time I call everyone says that they will try and get whomever to speed up the process but so far it has been a nightmare. It has caused so much more than just a loss from a fridge. Its been a terrible domino effect. But so far I have lived with no refrigerator for 2 1/2 months... Could you do that? I have had company during this time twice. My son graduated high school and the whole family came. Something should be done and Samsung owes me something more than just replacement cost of my refrigerator. Im very upset. If you can help me please let me know.
Samsung continues to sell refrigerators with defective ice makers. The ice makers freeze up and get clogged frequently. This is a known issue by Samsung yet they continue to manufacture refrigerators with this issue. I wish I would have never bought my Samsung 4-door Flex refrigerator.
We purchased a Samsung French Door refrigerator six months ago. Since then, we have had a service call on the ice maker (which was not screwed into the mounting and fell so you couldnt open/close the freezer door). Today, the food was melted and the refrigerator warm. Lights and temp gauges showed it was working properly. Spent 45 minutes on the phone with Samsung to get authorization of warranty to call a local appliance man. Now they will not even give me a date when it might be fixed. They will call me when they are available to come to my home. Best guess is four days away as the soonest!!!The appliance is not worth the money, and the service and warranty are definitely not customer oriented! I would definitely not recommend a Samsung, and will NEVER purchase again!
I purchased a side by side Samsung Refrigerator (RS263TD) in 2014. It began freezing at the bottom in 2017 and I had it serviced for $200 replaced the cooling panel. Now in early 2018, the problem is back. The service company guarantees their service for 1 year if there are problems with the unit; it was not charge. I have now reviewed the consumer complaints related to Samsung refrigerators -- they are all the same. What about a recall on the products. This product was a replacement for my GE (21 years of use). I will never purchase another Samsung product. GE only.
My $400.00 Samsung microwave (model SMH9207ST) is 15 months old. There is now an SE error code. I’m very disappointed with Samsung appliance.
Since June 14, I’ve made several calls to Samsung to correct the finish coming off the oven, trays coming loose in the fridge and bubbling of the control panel on the oven. They just kept asking for receipts, pictures, descriptions, several times. Every time I got a new person, had to go thru the explanation all over. They told me I bought this May 2018, out of warranty, until I sent a receipt showing July 2018. Anyhow by the time the fix it guy got approved to look at it, he came, took video all over again to prove the appliances were in our house??? Talked to the rep and was told they wouldn’t cover it, REALLY??? The fix it guy said we would have to call them back, OMG, and ask why they wouldn’t cover it. Called and they had no record of any problems and to give them a week and call back. Ready to return this crap back to them. Never been so frustrated!!!
I made a terrible mistake and bought a Samsung refrigerator from Costco. Error beeping right off the bat for an open door that wasnt open. Adjusted the doors and checked that the reed sensors were aligned, but same message. Called Samsung technical support who had no answers, but they would dispatch a technician late the following week. Meanwhile about $500 in food spoiled on our counter and their customer care team did zero to help. Please save yourself the anguish of having a day thats supposed to be exciting after dropping 2k on an appliance turn into a nightmare. These people can barely do cell phones right, why did I think they could manufacture a fridge properly.
CAUTION: FIRE: BAD ICE MAKER! Our SAMSUNG Refrigerator has the same ice maker problem everybody else has. We had it repaired once under warranty. After that didnt work, we had it replaced under warranty. Well, replacing the same defective ice maker didnt work either. After contacting Samsung to see if they could help, we were asked to PAY for another ice maker and service visit because our warranty had run out. NOW, today, our ice maker wouldnt stop rotating and was making a lot of noise. When I removed the ice bucket, SMOKE started billowing out! My smoke alarm went off and it smelled like burning plastic. The only way to get it to stop was to UNPLUG the refrigerator.
I purchased a new home and new appliances were chosen by contractor. This dishwasher started randomly on its own one day then an LC CODE appeared. Researched this to find out water has collected in bottom pan and this detection will stop washer from running. It is a common occurrence as there are several Youtube videos on how to fix it. ITS BRAND NEW!!! Why haven’t they fixed this common issue by now since it is obviously going to have BAD reviews? DO NOT BUY.
I have owned a Samsung side by side refrigerator (model rsg257aars) for about three years. About one month ago, I started noticing that water was coming out of the water dispenser in significant volume intermittently. The amount of water has been enough to flood my kitchen floor on multiple occasions. I know the water is coming from the dispenser as I placed a solo cup under the dispenser which has been filled each time after a flood. I have also seen the process start myself. The flow only stops when I push the water dispensing pad much like if I was filling a cup of water. I have called three different repairmen including the Samsung authorized repair personnel who have not been able to fix the problem. I have paid more than $400 at this point. In reading lots of these Samsung issues, I suspect that part of the problems is due to the electrical boards being defective causing a multitude of the matters noted in this forum.
Samsung dishwasher DW80J3020 poor performance. Why cant these companies just make dishwashers that work? Why do they try re-inventing something already done? Now we have DWs that claim to SANITIZE but leaves dishes wet and spotty. AND it takes hours of electricity to produce lousy results. To top it all off manufacturers dont care. When can we get something that works, made in the USA? Oxymoron? Top dollar for a stainless steel unit that s noisy and does a poor job. It doesnt even have a lower heating element, so how can it SANITIZE? Fool me once. No more SAMSUNG and Im telling it to all I meet.
I purchased Samsung French Door Refrigerator Model RFG297AARS for $2000 on 3/2011. However, I didnt buy the extended protection plan (should have) because I had protection plan with local electric company. I started to have problems in Jun 2013. Water in the bottom of the crisper and the refrigerator/ freezer was not cooling properly. I called to have maintenance done on the unit, and the repairmen told me that all of the defrost circuits and the sealed compressor were working properly and the drain lines were clear. They stated that all of the older and same model of mine had issues on lack of insulation in the box and during summer/high humid months, the unit would not keep up. I contacted Samsung and they never heard of this and would be happy to come out to look at the unit. If it wasnt a compressor issue, I would be charged for the visit. So we just unplugged the refrigerator and let it thaw out, and after that it worked okay, but not great. Then in Feb 2014, my freezer and refrigerator stopped cooling, so I called up for maintenance and they determined the sealed cooling system was not working and to call Samsung for repair under the 5-yr warranty. I called Samsung and they sent out a repair rep and he came out and said that the compressor/sealed system was not working properly and he would be in 2 weeks. When he came back, he tried everything but he could find the leak and he stated that it was not repairable!! 3 months later, no working refrigerator, just a broken one sitting in the way in my kitchen. Samsung finally decided to buy the unit back, but it would take 15-20 days and would get back to me concerning the removal of the broken one. No check, no email - nothing at all. Please do not buy this model or from this company. They say they understand what I am going through, but I dont think they do because they would have sent me my check and removed this broken box out of my kitchen so I can buy a new one for my family without a refrigerator.
This is so unfair for the companies to be selling this piece of crap, I just recently bought a Samsung Double Oven Gas Range and it is more of a thin metal than stainless steel. Not even my cooking pots looks this bad or get scratch like this range. The same day of installation it got lots of scratches that cant be taken off. Out of nowhere scratches keeps appearing because of daily use. If you pass your fingernails it will leave scratches too and cant take them off. Sucks. Paid almost $3,000 and this is my 2nd week with it. It is a very attractive stove but you cant even get too close just to prevent from getting more scratches or else. Please if anyone knows is there anything out there that can prevent scratches let me know, thanks.
Samsung Dishwasher Model #DMR 78AHS - I have only had this product 18 months and have had to replace the upper washing rack brackets twice. Once by home in-service repair, which was covered under warranty and then again by myself, which cost me $35 to repair. This is clearly a design flaw issue where the small plastic holders on the bracket break off and can potentially get inside the unit and cause it to make a grinding sound, which is unpleasant when you are expecting a quiet product. This is what happened to me. I have spoken to Samsung personnel and J & J International (supply part company) about the product flaw and neither company will admit there is a problem or provide reimbursement. Both keep referring me back to the other one. I have also sent e-mails to the CEO and Consumer Voice.
Samsung dishwasher is broken down again. DMR78AHS 3 years old. Immediately the plastic tabs for the upper rack adjuster broke off. This is a common problem and has happened 3 times. Warranty covered too. Once the tab jamming the pump causing error code LE. No warranty this time, $179 to fix. Next the door tension spring is attached with a nylon cord and runs over a plastic pulley. Cord broke, door came crashing down, another $179 labor and $20 parts for 2 cords. Today it will not turn on at all, no response from control pad. I guess another $179 down the drain. It washes so poorly that we only load it half full, plates in every other space and dont even think about putting dishes in without pre-rinsing. We are very disappointed in this appliance. We have spent the price of the washer in service calls. We filed a request with Samsung when the tab jammed the pump for reimbursement of the service call but were denied. We feel a class action suit is appropriate.
Word to the wise.. Never buy kitchen appliances from Sears as they have no service department. Their service work is subbed out to other companies. When you call them for service work you will be talking to someone who sounds like he or she is from Pakistan or Korea. They are extremely expensive and you have to work around their schedule. I have owned a new SAMSUNG Refrigerator for less than five years. We purchased the three-year warranty when we purchased it, but it did us no good as the Refrigerator quit working and couple of months, after the warranty expired. The unit started to make a clicking noise and then it quit cooling. The service guy shows up after going through the circus of getting him out there to tell us that the unit is frozen and he sees this issue quite often. He charges me $225.00 to defrost the frozen motor and he tries to sell me another one year warranty for $300 plus dollars. Its now 13 months later and we are experiencing the same symptoms. The fan motor starts the clicking noise and the unit quits cooling. I called Samsung to let them know what was going on and to see if they help me out because of the lemon that I purchased from them. They were not willing to work with me in any way. I have a KitchenAid refrigerator outside that I have owned for ten plus years and I havent had the first problem with the unit. I am done with the Korean Samsung Products.. Buy American made products!!
Never did a very good job at cleaning the dishes. After 5 years, I kept getting numerous errors and had to restart several times to do a load. The racks are starting to wear out. I will need to replace this soon. I just was expecting more reliability from a Samsung product. This will be the last appliance I purchase from them.
Purchased a Samsung counter depth refrigerator ($3,000!) - biggest mistake of my consumer life! One month after a 1 year warranty ice maker stopped making ice. Once I located a Samsung technician scheduling an appointment was a nightmare. They would only guarantee a date but you had to wait until the morning of that day for them to call and tell you a 3 hour window! Insane! Firs appointment couldnt figure out a problem. Scheduled second appointment they never called or showed. Called next day and they made me wait another 8 days for an appointment. Charged me $326 for parts and labor! Absolute rip off. DONT BUY SAMSUNG REFRIGERATORS! Learn from my very costly mistake.
I bought a Samsung French three door refrigerator. Ice maker froze over, major ice build up in the back panel of the unit. The fan began hitting the ice build up. I called Samsung, a representative told me parts and labor were covered for 5 years. Technician shows up and tells me the evaporator fan and defrost sensor are bad. Technician tells me those items are not covered. I called Samsung while the technician is here working on the unit. Samsung tells me again the units cooling system is covered under warranty. The technician tells me and the Samsung representative the parts are not covered. Samsung representative tells me the evaporator fan and sensor are not covered because they are not part of the cooling system. I watch the technician out sealer around the icemaker because the unit doesnt have a good seal. 326.00 it costs me to fix the unit. After 55 minutes on the phone, Samsung tells me they cannot help with the cost. I spoke with Dianna and Henderson in customer service. I WILL NOT BY ANOTHER SAMSUNG PRODUCT AGAIN.
We use our microwave for cooking and reheating. We have had it for three yrs and it has always performed perfectly. We bought it as upgrade in stainless and it looks great in our kitchen! It is the largest microwave I have ever owned by far, but the main reason I purchased was the online ratings and reviews. My wife is as close to a five star chef as there is, but she works long hours sometimes. I point this out because she preps meals a week in advance for our family, so the microwave is used daily.
We purchased a Samsung glass top slide-in stove a year and a half ago. It suddenly developed a thermal crack on the glass top. After many calls to Samsung, often times they would hang up on me, they denied any responsibility even though the owners manual states that there is a 5 year guarantee on the glass cooktop. They claim they are only responsible for the heating element. I will NEVER purchase another Samsung product. The stove does not get that much use and has not been abused.
I have had issues with my products after the first year! How does this happen after spending so much on the products. I have called several times for repairs to be made, they are fixed, but before the month is out, I am calling for something totally different. I would like my refrigerator replaced as I have had the most problems with that. What can I do, as I have a warranty until November 2019 but the company where I purchased the products are out of business, HHGREGG?
I bought my Samsung refrigerator as a four piece package from Home Depot. Ice maker freezes up and needs to be defrosted every few weeks. Now the entire unit needs evap fan cover assembly, temp sensor, bi metal drain tubes and drain heater. The entire unit is poorly designed. The repair service calls it job security. This is a $500.00 cost. I cant afford to get the heating unit for the ice maker so Ill continue to defrost it on my own.
I purchased Samsung appliances online for my kitchen. They were delivered but kitchen was not complete so they did not install them. It was Covid and things were really messed up. My first contractor got Covid and could not continue with the project. Fast forward I cant find anyone to install my appliances because I bought direct for Samsung and not from a store. I finally find a local store to install them and pay $1500. After installed I see that my wall oven, microwave portion doesnt work. Under warranty and I call. I can not get service on it because its built in. Im told I personally must uninstall the wall oven and then someone will come out to fix the microwave portion. If I hire someone to uninstall this unit then I have Samsung worked on it, then I have it installed by the other company, I could have my wall oven sitting in the middle of my kitchen for days. They have no one to install unless they do it at delivery. I spent $3000 on this oven microwave combo and the microwave is useless. The dishwasher doesnt dry the dishes either. Think twice before buying Samsung. DO NOT BUY!!!
I bought a Samsung RF217ACRS refrigerator in Sept of 2010. In short it was a lemon from the day we bought it. The ice maker immediately had to be repaired, then shortly after that replaced. We were also experiencing water leaking into our crisping drawers spoiling our vegetables as it pooled up to 1/2. The repair person that came to replace the ice maker made a guess as to what was happening and did a nonstandard repair in the back panel where the water runs down to fill the ice trays. He fixed it temporarily. The last time our ice maker was replaced was February of 2012 and here we are once again with a broken ice maker and water pooling in our crisping drawers 1.5 years later and Samsung will do nothing for us. I am an interior designer and have been specifying appliances for homes for over 20 years, and will never recommend nor purchase from Samsung again.
I purchased a Samsung refrigerator RF263AEBP in 7/2010 from PC Richards. The extend warranty I purchased has ended and the rubber sealant on my doors is just peeling off. I called Samsung to let them know that is not common for a 3 year old refrigerator and was told that the manufacture warranty of one year was over. I told them this is a workmanship issue. You would not expect the rubber sealant to be peeling off for no reason on both my french doors and my freezer. I escalated my call to the Executive Relationship Department and was basically told it was my problem and they could schedule me for an out of warranty appointment that I would have to pay for or I could purchase a Samsung Protection Plus warranty plan that would then cover the repair. I am disgusted with the reply from Samsung. A basically new refrigerator not even four years old should not be coming apart like that especially when its not an exposed area. Im writing this review because I suspect that I am not the only one with this issue.
Bought Samsung french door fridge August 2014. Have had nothing but problems with the ice maker. Repairman has been out numerous times. The last time Sears sent one, he said my ice maker was working as it was suppose to! I am going to call them again and have them come out. It drops ice once every 4 or 5 hours, I dont think that is right. The ice container has never been full and I am the only one using ice and I am gone 9 hours a day! I still buy a bag of ice every 3 or 4 days to fill the ice maker. I am sorry I bought this appliance. Because they obviously are not going to do anything to fix it properly.
2 1/2 years ago, built a new home and purchased $6,000+ in Samsung appliances from Lowes. From the beginning had problems with the refrigerator top ice maker. Several service calls under warranty, now same recurring problem and getting a lot of lip and little to no service. Lowes lady we purchased from continues to try and help with little to no help from others. Repair guy due Monday and most likely will be a no show. Everyone has got their money and no one trying to help other than the Lowes sales lady. She has been attacked by the warranty people and I know this for a fact. If we do not get satisfaction I will be dumping this in my attorneys lab. I am 82 years old and too old to worry with sorry companies and service.
My Samsung refrigerator (Stainless Steel Bottom Freezer) is less than a year old and the freezer stopped working this evening (12 Jun 2018). I am thoroughly convinced, after having read similar reviews published within the last few days and weeks, that the Samsung refrigerators were either immediately defective upon being manufactured or became defective while in transit. Though the product is currently under warranty, I do not look forward to having to deal with the retailer (Home Depot) and/or the manufacturer in order to repair it. I strongly advise the reader to not purchase a Samsung refrigerator.
It leaks, and Samsung is refusing to replace it. Dont believe their warranties, they will try their hardest to get out of actually doing anything. It failed with a LE code and a puddle of water. We called the same day, and the earliest the Samsung-contracted repair tech could come was a week later. Samsung doesnt contract with a real repair company, its something called General Appliance and Insurance Service. The tech showed up with no parts and almost no tools, and in a tiny car that couldnt haul a dishwasher. He pronounced that while he could see evidence of water (dried soap residue), he didnt see any water, so there was nothing he could do. Never mind that we live in a desert and it had been a week since it leaked. We got on the phone with 1-800-Samsung, who transfers you to Executive Service, which is the call center where they tell you jokes before giving you nothing. I told ** that the tech had been unable to find the leak and made no repairs. Given that nothing had been fixed on the unit, I said it would leak again and asked for a replacement unit. ** refused. He said it has to leak three times before they will replace it. The next day, it leaks again. We call it in, and now were waiting for the tech to come out and do nothing again, knowing weve got at least one more round of this circus before I can throw this piece of trash into their truck and get a decent dishwasher.
My Samsung refrigerator stop making ice about a year ago. Was told to put silicone around the outer edges of the ice box. Have to used hair dryer to defrost it but only last for a day out so, dont understand what they dont stand behind their product. I just hope that the rest of my appliances dont go out.
Bought a Samsung slide in stainless oven/range. After 2 months the glass top cracked. Had to argue with them to the point I contacted a VP and they replaced it. After that, about 6 months one of the 2 large burners would come on and stay on high regardless of the position of the controller. After two almost fires the burner quit and now doesn’t work. One of the small burners comes on low and stays there. Samsung wants nothing to do with me or the stove. I will never buy another Samsung appliance again.
I purchased several Samsung kitchen appliances from Lowes in July of 2011. They are very attractive to look at. However, not quite two years after purchase I noticed the back wall of the refrigerator was icing up. I checked to make sure the items in the refrigerator were spaced well and not blocking the vents where it was icing up. After a number of attempts to stop this action, I called Lowes. I was told that since I had not purchased the extended warranty, I was out of luck. They did send an appliance repairman out who looked in the refrigerator and called Samsung Tech Support. I was told the advice given by Samsung was that I should unplug the refrigerator and leave it thaw out completely, then plug it back in and it should be fine. I wasnt happy about this solution and called Lowes who told me that I was encouraged to purchase the extended warranty when I purchased the appliance (evidently they knew something about Samsung appliances that I didnt). I was told that unless I followed the instructions from Samsung there was nothing they (Lowes) could do to help. I did as I was told, thereby losing $$$ worth of food I had purchased for expected guests. When I plugged the refrigerator back in, it worked...for two days. Started frosting up again. I called Samsung. They sent out a repairman, 10 days later. He looked at it, said he had to order parts. He would call when they came in. Its now approximately 3 weeks after discovering the problem. I waited another week to hear from the repairman, finally called and was told part just came in. Repairman came out 3 days later to fix the problem. He installed the part. Refrigerator worked for 2 days. Now would not cool below 66 degrees. I called Samsung. Repairman could not come out for 3 days. He was heavily scheduled. Ill bet he was...all with defective refrigerators. Finally he came out and said there was another part on the thermostat that was defective. He had seen it the first time but it appeared fine. $325.00 repair bill and over $300.00 worth of spoiled food, restaurant bills with guests, and finally the refrigerator works. The whole issue left me with 6 weeks of no refrigeration. Samsung said they would reimburse me for up to $200 worth of food. Ive submitted the necessary papers and documents 3 times...still no reimbursement. DONT BUY SAMSUNG REFRIGERATORS!!! YOU WILL SURELY REGRET IT!!!
We purchased a Samsung Refrigerator (model #: RF266AERS) with French doors and Twin Cooling system three years ago. It has been serviced countless times due to ice building up in Twin Cooling system. The fan gets louder and louder and eventually the refrigerator stops working and has to be defrosted for 24 hours. We have lost time, money, and a great deal of food. We have been told it is a flaw in the design and there is no way to fix it. We will never, ever purchase another Samsung.
When opening the freezer, the handle popped off. Upon inspection, the bracket holding the handle shattering in a number of pieces. The bracket on the other side of the freezer is cracked but did not break. Yes, the French Door Refrigerator is 3+ years old, however the plastic should be able to stand up to many years of year. P.S. The Ice Maker fan has made a noise since the day the warranty expired.
We purchased this dishwasher at Lowes in July 2012. Earlier this year it stopped running and gave an 5E code. We looked it up in our manual and it said drain error. We checked everything and could not clear the code. We tried the cancel & drain to no avail. We ended up pulling everything out and scooping all the water out. We had a plumber come over and he checked all the drains/hoses etc. and found nothing. He then called Samsung and told them he thought it was the electrical panel and they would not tell him anything since he was not an authorize Samsung repair person. Unfortunately around this time my mom went into hospice care so hand washing dishes was going to have to suffice. My mother passed away in the summer. By late August I started contacting Samsung to get an authorized service person to come out. What a nightmare. I had to call a couple of times to get someone on the phone who would even help me. They will not give you the local persons number. I was finally given a ticket number and a phone number to call for Service Quick. This was a long distance call for me. They then said they would have a local person call with a quote and set up an appointment. So finally 6 days later I got a voice message. I returned the call now at least 4 times (another long distance number) which nobody answers the phone. It does not say the company name or anything, just a standard automated at the beep please leave a message. In the meantime I went in the phone book and called a local appliance repair person. They took the whole thing apart and told me it looked like the pump was out and possibly the electrical panel and that it looked like the parts would be about $350. That is half of what this thing cost! They suggested I just buy a new dishwasher. That in their experience the Samsung are a lot of trouble and expensive to repair. They were very nice and only charged me for a short service call. I am very frustrated. Every time I talked to a Samsung person I was asked did you purchase the extended warranty?. That is ridiculous! A dishwasher should not need an extended warranty for something not even two years old! It is now September 9th and I Still have not spoken to anyone on the repair side! I dont have money lying around to just literally throw down the drain on new appliances. But I think that is what is going to happen. I will Never buy a Samsung appliance again!
I am so utterly disappointed and frustrated with Samsung. We have a few Samsung items in my home. TV, Washer and Dryer and French Door Refrigerator with freezer on the bottom. We have hard water in my home and wonder if this could be the issue. Almost one year from our delivery of our brand new refrigerator from HOME DEPOT, the ice maker stopped making ice. When we investigated further, we noticed that ice wasnt dropping and there was frost and freeze everywhere. We began the regular ritual of using my hairdryer to defrost the ice maker. I called Samsung. Our unit was out of warranty for 3 days. They would not make accommodations and would not bend, even a bit. Nope. Nothing. I was livid. CUSTOMER SERVICE is not alive and well in SAMSUNG. They flip the consumer off with a hand gesture and send you on your way, after all, they already have my money. NO SAMSUNG IN MY HOUSE, ever again. I will pay more for something else. Im so happy to see the debacle unfolding with their line of tablets, phones, etc... Sorry for the consumer, dont get me wrong. I hate that company.
Purchased all new kitchen appliances with the microwave being one of the Samsung products. The original one we ordered they had to swap out with another unit due to they could not sell the original anymore. We were having multiple error codes, and they sent a service Contractor out under a warranty call, and they assumed it was the motherboard, which they replaced. Well that didnt work, in fact it was worse. Called for them to come out and repair it under the warranty. Seeing the 1st time did not work, so they sent out a service Contractor who replaced the door. In fact it was even worse with the microwave shutting down when cooking and still having error codes. Called Samsung backed and had to argue with them to send someone out to fix the microwave due to it was still not repaired from original warranty so called repair. They agreed after talking to a supervisor and they sent a service Contractor out, where he looked on a website and it showed an issue with the fan. They replaced the fan, but a week later the unit was still having the same problems with the same error codes and an additional new error code. Called Samsung again and they were going to do an accommodation, which in essence is an exchange. I had to send copies of the purchases that Lowes sent me, and waited for answers as usual, so I called back and said that because it was out of warranty they werent going to do an accommodation. Because they didnt fix the microwave from the initial warranty repair, and the delay game, and do not stand behind the product, I am stuck with a defective unit. I would stay away from Samsung kitchen appliances, and glad we didnt purchase all of our appliances with Samsung.
I bought my fridge on February 2013, less than a year it made noisy sound and he got frost and stop cooling. They change the parts after I made many calls and living on hold for hours and let me without fridge for one week now. Same problem happened a month ago, the technician came and broke the ice and change the parts. It is OK for one week and I called again and he said I will send request to replace it. Then I called they said we will send another technician and he didnt know how to fix it and I am still waiting without fridge and I have to eat every day outside. And I have baby, I need to put the milk and its summer time. So I paid 2000$ for this fridge for nothing.
This 16-month-old Samsung microwave had the dreaded SE error code. I tried unplugging it to recycle and nothing worked. After reading all of the reviews, I knew I was doomed. I called Sears only to find out it was a common problem. And, as the previous complaints say, it will cost more than a brand new one to fix. I also read where it was a known problem with the keyboard circuit and yet Samsung still would not give the consumer a break by recalling it. I then read one entry in Google regarding the problem which said to hold the cancel and reset button down at the same time. I didnt have those buttons, but held down the clear and start buttons at the same time - say 3 seconds, at most. Well, I held on for dear life for about 20 seconds. All of a sudden, the unit started beeping. I let go - and oh, my God, it reset! It seems to be working fine now! This is obviously a scam by someone. Otherwise, why is this fix not mentioned anywhere? It looks like I stumbled across a $300 secret. Hopefully, this helps others. By the way, even if a tech came out and was able to do the same thing, it still would have cost the $75. What a shame.
I purchased and installed a Samsung Gas Range (NC58H9950WS) in Spring of 2015. I recently ran (Dec 2017) the oven cleaning feature, and now my display is not working. Ive found many similar reviews stating their displays stopped working after running the cleaning program. The cost to repair this is approximately $1100 to replace both display boards (the range cost me around $2500 new). It would seem that Samsung sold us all a bill of goods by saying this feature is available on their range but in fact using the feature will make other parts of the range break down and require replacement. If youve had a similar experience, write your review!
After just two years, like many others on this site, our Samsung SMH9187ST over the oven microwave that we bought for over $300.00 started beeping with an SE code. Now nothing works. I have little faith that Samsung will stand behind their products given what I have read here. If it is a choice between repairing the unit at my own cost and buying a new unit, I will buy a new unit, but it wont be another Samsung.
When we moved we put in all new appliances... The dishwasher has had repair out twice... French door refrigerator once along with the washing machine that doesn’t drain properly, and as a consequence, smells bad and has to constantly be drained from the bottom making a terrible mess because of the way the drainage is set up. Right now my dishwasher is again having a problem and keeps turning itself off. I can find no leak. I will have to spend another $150 for repair to come out again. I will NEVER buy another Samsung appliance. They should stick to smartphones. In 53 years of marriage, never had a problem with a KitchenAid or Bosch... Should have stuck with what I know.
We bought our dishwasher over a year ago and have had nothing but problems. It smells all the time! We never had this problem before with our old one. The detergent latch opens about half the time but it leaves soapy residue every time. Do not buy a Samsung dishwasher. I will be replacing this one very soon.
Alluded to this in my earlier rating of the refrigerator product. More specifically, the induction stove is also a hit and miss item. We have purchased VERY high end cookware and find that some cookware works on some of the burners, but it is very hit and miss. We waited until our one year Samsung warranty expired so we dont have to work with their ponderous/painful/frustrating warranty department, and now will work with the extended warranty we purchased from a reputable retailer to see how that works. Again... if its a Samsung my advice is to run. Pick a different deal. These are poor products with extremely bad service.
This is a fair admonishing to buyer to not be fooled by the aesthetic sleek look of an Samsung Refrigerator. It does not stand the test of time and does not perform to support the high purchase price and its good luck. I had this awesome looking double french door and like everyone else it Sealed Cooling System start breaking down and of course Samsung favorite response like they give everyone else, I guess by now they are professional in running people in circle, Only time will tell as other consumer will catch up. They dont realize the power of negative advertising. I have already warn dozens of people to stay away from ever purchasing a Samsung. They have an unfair business practice where you can only use their service approved vendor to fix your fridge even when you are out of warrant because no one can get their replacement part. This is not fair business practice I will would hope that the attorney general or even congress is aware of this business practice. I will NEVER NEVER NEVER use my cash for anything Samsung again, I felt betrayed by their deceptive appearance and lousy performance in failing to stand by their product and make good with their consumer. We have a right and that is where we spent our money. Fool me once, that is good enough.
I bought a Samsung dishwasher at Home Depot last year. It was on sale, all stainless inside and seemed like a great deal. It worked a couple of times then quit... lights flashing and stinky water remaining in the basin. Home Depot responded quickly and sent someone out twice to repair it then finally sent me an email saying it was not fixable. They gave me a full refund. But, I am stubborn and was determined to fix it. Sometimes it worked thru a full cycle and sometimes it did not. I would have to push a couple of buttons to get it to drain afterward. After months of troubleshooting it finally works for me every time. The key is a balanced load. When you put a dinner plate on one side of the rack you must put the next dinner plate on the other side. Same with the top rack. Equal weight on both sides of the carriages is the trick. It sounds like a pain in the you-know-what but it works for me and I feel like a winner! :)
I bought a Samsung Range NE59J3420SS/AA from Sears November 23, 2015 the day before Thanksgiving. Since then I have had problems with the product. First the discoloration of the cooktop is awful. I called Samsung and was told that was normal and that the range was fine. Well the steam cleaning feature will not work and I called Sears. They refused to fix it nor service it - 1800-726-7864. They had a more hands off and referred me to 1800-726-7864. The CSR that I spoke with implied that I was unintelligent and could not read, and I could not follow simple directions. I told her that I followed the directions given in the manual and that I wanted a technician and to speak to her supervisor. Well he got on the line and hung up on me.I ended up going online to get a service call done and a ticket # and also be informed that the service call will cost me for the tech to come out. Currently I was purchasing a new refrigerator from Conns. I will calling in a few minutes and putting that on hold and changing that product. I also have a lot of Samsung products in my home - washer, dryer, televisions, and three cell phones and I am dreading if something else breaks. IF you are considering any appliances from Samsung I am telling you their service department is awful, rude, obnoxious and callous. Beware of the products you purchase from them be sure that the merchant tells you about the warranty and if they offer additional in house warranty seems to me the best bet.
We purchased a Samsung fridge 5 years ago. It had issues with the ice maker a few times, which were repaired. Most recently, the fan was making a REALLY loud noise, Samsung came out and we were told there is now corrosion in the plug of the fan and it is not repairable. Upon contacting Samsung we have been told we need to buy a new fridge and they offered us a 20% discount. The fridge is only 5 years old, we paid over $2.5k for it and now have no option to repair it other than to replace it. I wanted to warn others, as we had choices when we were buying and chose Samsung - we are now paying for that decision, literally. Looking online and doing some research Ive now found that there is a class action for THE EXACT SAME THING in the US - the ice maker breaking causing the fan to make a loud noise and eventually stop working. Im in shock that Samsung find it acceptable to tell me to buy a new fridge after only 5 years and only give me a 25% discount... I will never buy another Samsung fridge again and I hope this warns others to do the same. So disappointed. Here is the link to some summary details of the class action: **.
I bought a Samsung stainless steel dishwasher at Home Depot. I bought this appliance in December 2019. I started seeing rust on the door just four months into the appliance. I called customer service. They sent a guy over. He took pictures and said they will contact me. No one ever came back. I still have rust on the dishwasher terrible terrible. I will never buy Samsung again.
My wife and I live in Everett, Pa. We had purchased two Samsung products from Lowes, a microwave model SMH 9187 ST and a top of the line Stainless French door fridge, in Altoona, Pa. After a short period the ice maker light would not reset on the fridge for which we paid for an extended warranty. After calling Lowe’s we were told we live outside the 50 mile radius for service. After calling Samsung we’re told there was no one in the area to service the unit. The only option was to replace the fridge with a new one to solve the minor problem. DUH! After days I finally got it to reset. Another problem was we had water leaking from the ice maker unit. Again no service was available. It seems I had replaced the filter unit made by Samsung made in Korea and it was defective. I found this out after driving 100 miles round trip to try another unit. If I did not have some technical skills for repair I would have been out of luck. Our microwave failed showing the code SE. Again I could not get service and was told by Samsung it was still in warranty. After many calls they referred the problem to a BGH Electronics in Cumberland Maryland. After 9 days waiting for a call I found out the repair was canceled. I suspect they did not want to drive the 2 hours round trip. I again got back with Samsung and now was told the unit was NOT in warranty and I was on my own to get it repaired. Fortunately I found that this unit has a design flaw where steam from the stove will corrode the contacts in the control panel. A simple video on YouTube shows how to clean the contacts and after that the unit works fine. I am not happy with Lowe’s in Altoona, Pa selling Samsung products to folks outside the 50 mile area that cannot get service. I will buy appliances from local stores that can provide service if needed and it will not be a Samsung product.
The Samsung Refrigerator freezes vegetables and Fruits. Anything on top shelf. Along back wall. Even in the drawers. Freezes all kinds of food. Even jam which are in fridge. Never had any problems with previous Samsung.
This is an update on my January 30 review for my SMH9187B microwave, which failed three times in two years. This time, the microwave would not shut off unless I opened the door or pulled the plug. After about a week, it went dead completely, with a burnt smell. I was also referred to Executive Customer Relations who said they would arrange for service but only at my expense. I have now taken this piece of junk to the electronics dump and replaced with a GE model (my previous GE lasted over 18 years). Im told that all microwaves are made by only 3 companies, and they dont last as long as they used to; but GE will back up their products a lot better than Samsung. Samsung supposedly has a really good customer satisfaction rating on appliances in general, but I wont be buying any more for sure.
My Samsung dishwasher broke after 6 months. Soap was still in the dispenser after the cycle was finished. They fixed it and it broke 2 months later and Samsung gave me the run around for a month. I could not get anyone out here to fix it. I called Home Depot, where I bought it from and they finally sent someone out. They came 3 times and changed several parts. The machine was still broken. We have had food poisoning and are sick with colds constantly from the mold smell in there. Samsung offered to buy it back and they have taken 2 months so far to get this together. I have had this moldy, dishwasher in my kitchen and they keep giving me the run around. Terrible customer service. Games played with me and people even hanging up on me when I have called them. I wish there was something more I could do. I wish someone could call for me and fix this. Samsung is making me keep this dishwasher until they are done with the paperwork and say that the refund is complete. They said if I get rid of the dishwasher that they would not give us our money back. I do not know what else to do. Maybe call a lawyer and sue them. Why are they holding me hostage. I need that refund to buy a new one. I the meantime, I am washing 3 loads of dishes by hand a day, while being sick from this junk dishwasher. How can they do this.
Purchase a Samsung Dishwasher DMT300RFS about 2 years ago. It worked fine for 1 year. We started having issues with it cleaning the dishes and glassware. We tried different detergents and cleaning products with no success. Then it stopped working altogether. The instrument panel codes said that it was a drain pump problem so I replaced the drain pump. It would not start and displayed a new code leak sensor. I took the dishwasher apart again, but did not see any water. I made sure that the sensor was dry and put the machine back together. Still will not work. My last dishwasher was a GE and it lasted about 10 years with no problems. Samsung makes junk, do not buy.
Samsung induction electric range model #NE599N1PBSR - almost immediately this stove top was causing grief. Purchased in Spring 2014 before summer I had placed a call to Samsung to report the problems. I was appeased by the customer service person who declared it was my pots. I had purchased very expensive induction pots and the problem still persisted. I had induction pots as soon as I bought the appliance. I thought they might be inferior. It has continued for 2 years with no solution. Samsung has no record of my problem. Over a month ago Samsungs repair person came to investigate - has been 6 weeks, no callback, I have placed 3 subsequent calls, no callback. I spoke with Samsung today... they have no record, and cant do a thing, they will NOT honor warranty even tho the first complaint was lodged before the expiry of the warranty - once again they have no record of that call. Shame on Samsung. Elements wont work, oven shots off, at best I can use 2 elements at one time. I bought 4 Samsung appliances that day and already had the dishwasher serviced also. Such a waste of money!
I try to be a responsible informed consumer before making a pricey purchase. I took the plunge and bought a Samsung refrigerator Model #RS261MDBP 05/2014. The first refrigerator delivered had a golf ball size dint on front right door. Immediately delivery company informed Samsung and the refrigerator was replaced approximately a week later. My grown children were home at time of delivery while I was out of town caring for sick family member. I came home a month afterwards and noticed three dints on right door as if someone placed and replaced their hands there to push refrigerator in place. I also noticed the ice maker wasnt making much ice. I read the troubleshooting section of manual and made adjustments of temperature and rearranged food in freezer. At this time condensation was accumulating in freezer and food in fridge was spoiling. Once again I adjusted temperatures to no avail. I contacted Samsung which a repair company came out and said that model came off assembly with the issues I was having due to some faulty parts. Little over six weeks later the same problems started all over again. Another company came and fixed a totally different problem. Two weeks later ice maker still wasnt producing ice properly, milk spoiled, and condensation started accumulating in freezer again. Samsung was informed of all the issues Ive had since receiving their product. Eventually after many phone calls, emails with proof of purchase and pictures they agreed to a partial reimbursement, deducting 10% per month after 1 year ownership. My very first new refrigerator and it was heartbreaking. I will not buy another Samsung appliance.
Bought this from SEARS just before Christmas around December 22 of 2010 to match the Samsung Stove that I bought for the new home that we had just moved into. Looked great and I was very pleased until it stopped working on Jan. 4th of 2012 (approximately). Throwing the error code SE and unplugging it and re-plugging it back in would allow it to work for maybe 5 minutes. I was so upset when I called Sears and they wouldnt even entertain the idea of coming out to service it unless I wanted to pay for the service call and whatever the problem was to fix. I realize that there is only a 1-year warranty on the microwave, but come on! It stopped working 2 weeks past the 1-year warranty end. Whatever happened to standing by what you sell? Its a shame that most of these products are made overseas and so cheaply and then sold for way more than they are worth. Its obvious to me that Samsung products are pretty much pieces of crap that arent even worth looking at. I encourage anyone considering one of their products to think twice. I am a very unhappy consumer and will tell everyone that I know to not even consider any product manufactured by Samsung. Yes, I could have purchased an extended warranty but come on people, 54 weeks an appliance works before breaking down and needing repair? That is absolutely absurd. I pretty much told Sears that they lost a customer and anyone else that I knew too. No wonder they are going out of business! They have terrible customer service and dont give a damn about the consumer. I had an independent service company come out to take a look, who, by the way did not charge me for the service call, as I had explained the situation to them. He checked it out and told me the motherboard would have to be replaced and that it would cost almost as much as I paid for the microwave in the first place. How disappointing that I have been sitting here with a microwave for the past 2 years that doesnt work because I dont exactly have the luxury of being able to just go out and purchase a new one every year or two. Im furious at Samsung for manufacturing such a substandard product and then knowing that it has problems, refused to do any kind of recall or offer to repair at no charge and also SEARS for being so not standing behind what they sell. Cheap labor = cheap materials = cheap products. Truly disgusting!
Samsung 17 Cu Ft SLIM FRY OvertheRange Microwave SS 1571002 - Bought X-mas 2013. Keypad stopped working or behaved randomly turning lights and fans on randomly or operated by a ghost. Nov 2016 microwave doesnt even power up. Its outside 1 year warranty period and refusal to replace it. My previous microwave lasted 10 years. Dont buy Samsung Microwaves.
Purchased a home and did a remodel and purchased a Samsung appliance package from Home Depot. The dishwasher has been a NIGHTMARE!!! I am the only one in the home so I don’t run it every day but once I did begin to use it and not even 2 months later had to have the pump replaced. One month later YET another repair! Spoke to a representative who said they would refund my money and she would send me an email with how to get this. Received the email and provided them with everything they wanted. Waited a month and No refund check. Called NUMEROUS time to take 10 minutes of explaining to have them transfer me to claims where THEY DO NOT ANSWER AND YOURE ON HOLD FOREVER!!!I called numerous days in a row and have sent emails every day with no response!!! HORRIBLE!!! So I called and explained to Home Depot and they said there is nothing they can do! It is absolutely ridiculous!!! Pay over 400$ for something and it is not overused and you can’t even use it!!! For Home Depot to support this manufacturer is very sad!!! Will NEVER buy from Home Depot again! Nor will I tell anyone to purchase Samsung!!
Our Samsung French Door refrigerator keeps icing up under the back panel. It started happening after the four-year warranty was out. We have had it fixed repeatedly during the last year at $100 minimum each time only for the problem to return within a month. Now it is every two weeks. I have learned what to look for, what sounds to listen for and to take the back panel off to defrost it myself. Granted it is 8 years old but as much as it cost it should have lasted much longer. The repairman cannot fix it so we cant even sell it.
This refrigerator - which is gorgeous - stopped working exactly 45 days after installation. A repair service sent by Samsung said it was repairable but it was too a job for them and recommended replacing it. Despite this, Samsung will not stand by their product and they refuse to replace the refrigerator. We are now approaching THREE weeks of no refrigerator. Samsung customer service is a nightmare. They should be ashamed - so disappointing. We strongly recommend NOT purchasing through Samsung and instead use a more reputable company who will ultimately stand by the product and the consumer.
I have a fridge of 1.5 years and just after first year was defective ice maker and now just after 1.5 years, compressor is blown. Compressor is under warranty for 5 years, but after 15 days, Samsung has still not replaced the compressor or the fridge. Every time I call (and spend 1-2 hours waiting for case management), they pretend theyve never spoken to me - even though they ordered the dispatcher that diagnosed the issue! This is so fraudulent and unacceptable. I bought the fridge at Lowes and they should be ashamed to allow this type of dishonest activity to happen. I have spent so much in restaurant bills and spoiled food, I could have bought a Viking fridge. NEVER, NEVER, EVER BUY SAMSUNG. By the way...my Samsung washer/dryer? Also had issues the first year.
We purchased this dishwasher Model # DW80H9930US/AA on the recommendation of the HHGregg Sales Representative based on reliability. We have had nothing but problems since December 2014 when we purchased it, with 3 service orders to date. The last one is a repeat for the issue that we had less than a month ago. On top of that, Samsung uses servicing dealers that do not have parts in stock. Thus, they are allowed to order the parts based on the repair order making the customer wait the additional time for the repair. Of course, if there is another issue, you need to start all over again with a service request where they try to get you to repair it yourself using their manuals. I will never buy another Samsung appliance again!
The freezer portion of the French door Samsung is small as the water/ice dispenser takes up too much space. The other side is also small but not as small as the freezer section.
I cannot recommend a Samsung refrigerator. Im so sick of getting it repaired every so many months. They clean the drain and leave. Where is the replacement parts for this issue. And not at my cost!!!
Houseful of Samsung Appliances and now I am stuck. Microwave takes forever to boil a cup of water for tea. Cheap handle broke off after 2 years. Dishwasher doesnt clean dishes, you must basically wash by hand before you put them in. French door refrigerator crapped under 3 yrs. Paid over $900 to fix. Icemaker was part of that fix, now a little over a year it stopped working again. Stove knobs all broke off gas stove... under 3 yrs old. Also dont bother using the cleaning mode on your gas stove. Its known to get so hot it fries the circuit board. Costly repair I had on that one.Washer tears clothes and cant use bleach anymore because it goes through the compartment prematurely and blotches my load. TVs lasted no more than 3 years and my phone sucks. I have wasted so much money let alone time waiting for service people to show... or not to show. Customer service... a total joke. Never willing to resolve issues. I have over $8000 in home appliances and electronics that, unfortunately dont know when they will see their day. But when its time, Samsung will never again be my choice. Cant afford to buy junk anymore. But they dont care. They got my money. Dont let them get yours!
We purchased the Samsung 3 door refrigerator in June of 2015. It started leaking water in July of 2016. Samsungs recommended repair company in our area has been to our home three times. Nothing theyve done has fixed the problem. The water has been turned off and disconnected and the line drained. After three water (or something) is still leaking into the deli drawer and onto the floor. We filed a formal complaint with Samsung last week, the only response weve gotten is that it was received. The guy who left the message said, You know, were a little busy right now. I will never buy another Samsung product. Looking for a class action suit to join, and found this. Stay away from anything Samsung!!
We bought our Samsung from Lowe's. It was on sale and with my veteran's discount, it was a great price. We are empty nesters and the size of the fridge is perfect for us, with ample door storage. Lots of freezer space also. We love the filtered ice/water through the door options. The stainless steel is so easy to keep clean and looks really sharp. Temperature controls actually work where in some other brands we have owned they were more like idiot gages, nonfunctional. We have owned it six years now and still loving it. Only thing I would change is the location of the water filter. Put it up top so an old man like me does not have to lay down to make the change.
The ice maker leaks, freezes up constantly. We have given up and buy ice now. My nephew has the same problem with his Samsung fridge. My son bought a new Samsung washer/dryer and it leaked and caused extensive damage to his home, within the first two weeks of ownership. I would not buy or recommend their appliances to anyone. Buyer beware. They do not stand behind their appliances. We will be joining the class action lawsuit against their refrigerators.
13 months ago, we bought a 4-set of Samsung appliances. Now 1 month after warranty, the dishwasher (DW80F600UTS) stopped to drain. Reading all the negative consumer internet-inputs about the product reliability and Samsungs customer-unfriendliness, Im pretty sure not getting any support from Samsung and probably have to replace the dishwasher, but for sure not buy another Samsung!! Our next appliances will be American brands, again!
The repairman has been to our house at least twice now. After he came to fix the ice maker it stopped working just after his warranty for the work done that day. Today Im looking for a new fridge and hoping they will take this p. o. s. in on trade because I know I wont get close to the price I paid if I sell it outright. It is not worth the stress to hang onto it. Never been so disappointed with a fridge. I cannot clean the outside water stains. The repairman said theres a product that will work but didnt know the name of it. The door seal is so thin that it had a worn spot. He didnt recommend replacing that. Its only 3 years old. My order number and receipt are on file here from my first review- to verify legitimacy.
I recently purchased a home and needed a microwave. My parents have a second home and they were kind enough to give me the 2-year-old Samsung microwave from that home. The microwave was hardly ever used when my parents had it, so apparently daily use was just too much for it. The keypad will not work - at all - not one single button. Ive tried unplugging it and leaving it unplugged for hours, it doesnt work. The display just flashes Simply Samsung forever. Then, in the middle of the night, it activates the 1 button by itself. Ill wake up and hear it repeatedly dinging and the display says 11:11. This microwave was never exposed to any water or harsh climate conditions. Its just a piece of **. Now that I have to purchase a microwave, I can guarantee it wont be a Samsung.
My husband and I purchased a white Samsung French door refrigerator (RF26XAEWP) about four years ago. Recently we are noticing that the porcelain beneath the water/ice dispenser has begun to rust. When I contacted Samsung customer service, I was told that the warranty had expired and that this was cosmetic damage and we would be responsible for the repair. I was given the phone number for the Samsung Repair Service for my area and that was it. When I expressed concern that this refrigerator was rusting after such a short period of time and that possibly the porcelain coating was improperly or inadequately applied, I was told there was nothing they could do as the appliance was no longer under warranty. So now I am going to have to pay $502.90 to replace the door. Apparently it is of no concern to them that I have to pay this, given the fact that we feel the problem was inadequate porcelain coverage in the first place. After 47 years of marriage and many refrigerator purchases (various brands), we have never experienced rust on the refrigerator. That being said, we will fix this appliance as we cannot afford to purchase a new refrigerator, but we will never purchase another Samsung appliance again. This refrigerator was purchased at Lowes in Kissimmee.
Refrigerator freezer stopped working first and the inside stopped soon after. After calling Sears out to repair they diagnosed it as the sealed refrigerator system stopped working. This was covered by Samsungs factory warranty, (covered for 5 years). After contacting Samsung they had 3 techs come out over the course of 3 weeks trying to repair it. They could not and said we would receive a new unit in 48 hours. After no contact in 48 hrs. I called and they had to do the paperwork. After calling several times for updates. They decided to refund our money because they did not have the same unit. It has been over a month since the unit stopped working. We are now waiting for our refund. They say it takes between 7 to 14 days but the Samsung Reps. say thats not true. They wait the full 14 days to refund the money. So if your fridge stops working please check your Warranty that comes with the fridge even if you dont have a store warranty. The warranty information is in your refrigerator manual. The number for Samsung is on the back of the manual or your decal inside of your fridge.
Dishwasher never cleaned that well. After one year, error message flashing blue lights. Samsung paid for the service. Their service tech company replaced epoxy-filled circuit board. It worked for two months and then an error message flashing blue lights. Service tech said it is a design flaw, so keep replacing parts will not make it right. Samsung would not give me a contact name to resolve the issue. I bought from Sears and they no longer carry many Samsung dishwashers, and would not answer my questions about the quality of this product.
Started having problems after before two years. The vet keep freezing and is not keeping the refrigerator cold. They sent supposedly authorize dealers repair person and they couldn’t find a problem. I just found out that it’s the computer or brain. It’s too costly to repair. I will never buy at Samsung Refrigerator again!!
I purchased a Samsung refrigerator in November 7, 2012. The first one I received did not cool immediately. HH Gregg thought they would send someone out to fix it, a 1600.00 brand new fridge. I told them absolutely not, it would be replaced. The fridge was replaced week of Thanksgiving. The problem is that this new fridge the shelves are all cracked as though there is some type of defect in manufacturers plastic. Long story short I have a 5 year warranty with HH Gregg and they stated there was nothing they could do. I feel ripped off by HH Gregg and Samsung.
