Samsung Refrigerator Model RF263BEAESR
After about a year and a half this microwave has lost the vent switch into the rear of the panel - unable to pull back out. The Microwave has worked decent but just cheaply done in other areas. I will try to locate this panel online and repair it myself. The range, Fridge and Dishwasher have worked great.
We purchased our refrigerator July 3, 2012 from Lowes. 5 years to the date it quit working over night, woke up the next morning and all my food in top part refrigerator was spoiled and bottom freezer was thawed. Called repairman to come out and take a look at it, about all he had to say was to unplug it and waituntil tomorrow morning it should cool down and start working again. The repairman at the house for 5 minutes and 75.00 dollar for the service call to tell me to unplug it. It did cool down and started working, restock the refrigerator. But 7 days later it went down again. We unplug again but still not working so, once again we had to deal with spoiled and lost food. The consumer are right. Samsung Refrigerator is a piece of crap. I will never purchase a Samsung product again.
March of 2015, we purchased a Samsung Refrigerator from Nebraska Furniture Mart. A month after purchase, the ice maker stop producing ice. Called NFM and was given Samsungs number. Technician came out at least 4 times, only supplying temporary relief. Technician said, this is a manufacture problem. He said, Theres a sleeve in the back of the refrigerator that allows air to come in and with sub-below temperatures over freezes the ice maker, not allowing the ice make to function properly. After calling Samsung, they continue with the troubleshooting techniques. If you are experiencing this problem, dont allow the operators to troubleshoot your issue. Demand for a service tech. Tech from NFM set the temperature control way too cold. Fresh produce, butter, cheeses in the midsection of the refrigerator was freezing. Found out the correct temperature should be set on 0 and 37. To set you must hold the numbers one at a time for at least three to five seconds. Heading back to NFM to complain. If purchasing this refrigerator, spend the extra money and buy the warranty. A home warranty plan may also help defer the cost. NOT HAPPY WITH SAMSUNG RIGHT NOW!
According to info we found on YouTube the error code is caused by steam corroding the keypad panel. We cant find anything on Samsung website to help us. The website is not user friendly and there is nothing mentioned about how to fix the error even though there are over 200 complaints. How can you make an over-the-range microwave and not expect steam? No more Samsung for us.
We just purchased a brand new dishwasher (water wall system). It is a lemon. I am not surprised since I have read all the complaints about Samsung products. At this moment I am not a happy customer.
Purchased RF323TEDBSR in March 2015. Ice maker in freezer (bottom) makes 24 cubes every ten hours. Specs say the ice maker makes 10 pounds of ice a day. Four days of fighting with customer service FINALLY earned me a service call when I was told that the ice maker was not broken, but defective in all refrigerators. I will NEVER buy a Samsung again!
I would say Samsung makes a high quality refrigerator that I can trust this brand. I never have any problem with Samsungs refrigerator, temperature, frozen foods, ice-cream, vegetables, beverages. Im able to store them in the fridge without any worries. After being used for like a little over a year, the fridge still works like the first day that I purchased it. Performance and quality both still work perfectly.
The Samsung French door refrigerator is about five years old. After about three years of service, the light in the freezer stopped working. The repair was postponed until now and after two visits, the service provider identified a broken wire in the center drawer that supplies power to the LED light for the freezer. To replace the wire, and entire drawer slide assembly had to be ordered and installed to correct an obvious design deficiency of a broken wire that is obviously not designed to survive the repetitive motion of the drawer being opened under normal usage. $339 for a non-warranty repair.
There is a severe design flaw in Samsung refrigerators. They freeze up with ice in the back panel every 5-7 months requiring complete removal and 24 hour thawing. Samsung is also unresponsive with no customer service. For a really good view, Google removing the rear panel of a Samsung refrigerator. Then watch the YOUTube video. Then you will know what a disappointment it is to own a $2500 refrigerator that is less than 3 years old.
I purchased a Samsung Model # RF28HDEDBSER (with French doors and freezer on the bottom) from Lowes about two years ago for about $3,000. After a year the iced maker broke down and we no longer have ice, it also makes a grinding noise. Now about 6 months later the refrigerator is barely cold enough to keep our food cold and the digital feature is malfunctioning and shows that it does not maintain a proper temperature; it keeps shutting off. We are very disappointed in this product, so we were not surprised now to discover many complaints with the same issues.Just filed a complaint on the Samsung website but do not expect them to respond, they said they would respond but kept me waiting in the chat for more than 10 minutes. Please do not buy their refrigerators they are not worth it and the honorable thing would be for them to replace a refrigerator that we expected to function for at least 5 years. It also makes me wonder about the quality of their other products. We dont have $3,000 just to buy refrigerators.
We purchased a 3 door, 26 CU.Ft. French door Samsung refrigerator with an indoor water dispenser in November of 2012. Approximately a year and a half after the purchase, our refrigerator started making strange noises and there was water spilling out. We contacted Samsung and later had a technician from Best Buy come out and diagnose the refrigerator. Luckily he was able to repair it - he explained that the refrigerator had to be defrosted as the coils had frozen over. Since then, every five to six months we have had to defrost our refrigerator to keep it working. Ice builds up and the cooling element fails. We now keep a close eye on the fridge. The first time it froze over we lost food. Since then we have moved quick to defrost it before it appears to be running warm. But we do worry about the regular cooling in light of this problem. At bottom, this is not what we expected from our purchase. We bought a brand new refrigerator and have not received the quality we expected.
Overall, my whole family is significantly disappointed. We bought both a fridge and an oven/stove from Samsung, and both of them started to malfunction before we were even done paying them off. The knobs on the stovetop are poorly engineered and will easily turn if something accidentally knocks into them (like a pot handle or your arm)--this has led to stovetops accidentally turning on and burning our dinner multiple times. The lower right stovetop also gets unusually hot and the lower left stovetop works unusually slow, even when the knobs are turned to the same setting--this had led to food burning on the lower right stove even when its on low and left unsupervised for just a couple minutes. Dont even get me started on the fridge that has its flimsy door-shelves breaking off (I realize thats a review for another time).
RF260BEAEBC Side by side refrigerator with bottom freezer - Upper cabinet fan started hitting ice accumulations. Samsung would not cover even however Home Depot stood up and fixed that. There is water standing under the crisper tray ice now, another ice accumulation problem. DO not buy Samsung Refrigerators. Service and product from Samsung is zero.
We Bought our RFG297AARS/XAA June 2009. We love the unit. But in late 2013 we noticed water pooling on top of the freezer door. Turns out there was a leak in the water dispenser. Out of warranty, so I needed to buy a new left door. I lived with the leak, soaking up the water from the reservoir underneath the tray with a paper towel until it became too persistent. In September of 2014, I could take no more and ordered a new door. The technicians were nearly finished installing it when they realized the handle on the new door did not match the one from the original door on the right side. It was longer, and the holes did not line up. A call to their office revealed Samsung stopped making the original door. The technicians were very nice and put the original door back. So now, instead of a 140 dollar door, I would have to buy two of them in order for the refrigerator not to look ridiculous. I called the Samsung Expert Customer Service and said I expected to pay for the left door, but that I felt it unfair to have to buy two doors because Samsung wasnt backward compatible with their handles. The handles! Though nice, the rep conferred with someone and came back to inform me that no, Samsung would not provide the matching door for me. I am now living with the leak until I figure out what to do. One thing I will not do is add to my Samsung collection of 3 televisions, a large computer monitor and a dishwasher. Their refusal to provide a 140 dollar door, on a $3k unit, to match the one I am already buying, because they stopped making the original handle, comes with this result: the thousands I will spend in the future on electronics and appliances will not go to what used to be one of my favorite companies. I will make sure to tell everyone I know and everyone I see in stores looking at a Samsung product. Thats really all I can do with my displeasure, all any consumer who feels wronged can do.
$800 Samsung dishwasher leaked within the first few months. Tech never could fully resolve the issue. We purchased the nearly $200 extended warranty because we knew it was junk. 14 months in LE code and leaking again. Call Samsung warranty dept. and they send it out for repairs. Repair company calls to verify that we know its out of warranty. We so know, its extended. They say that they dont do extended warranty work. Call Samsung back and they so, Oh, you have to call this number for extended warranty claims. I say, That is the very number I called and go you. They transfer me and I give them all of the data again (model number, warranty number, etc.) This person says, Oh, you need extended warranty and proceeds to give me the number I first called.I called the number that apparently sends you to a bunch of sadists claiming to be Samsung and give them the whole spiel again. They ask for all of the data again and then to my horror tell me to call the same number I used to call them again. Finally after much pleading they say they made an appointment with a service company. One day later service company calls to verify that this is a non-warranty service call. Very nice lady at service company says that this literally happens all day with Samsung and that shes very sorry, but doubts they will ever send over the proper reference number for it to be covered under its extended warranty.I call Samsung again and explain the situation and I swear on the entire universe they tell me once again that I must call the very number I just called to be currently speaking to them. They then give me the standard warranty number that they had given me previously and was then told by them to call the number I had just used once again. I finally get a supervisor and beg them just to admit that they are going to scam me until Ive gone crazy and to please, as another human being just admit it so I can move on and just write off the $1000 as a lesson learned.Nope, this physical manifestation of evil known as the Samsung CSR Supervisor then proceeds to tell me that they are giving me the Top Secret number that will literally get people jumping on my warranty needs. I believe this is the number Obama would call should his dishwasher quit working. I kid you not, he reads off the exact same 800 number I used to call them all of the times in the past. I had no response as I believe I had a small aneurysm and fell to the floor.I keep the evil little stainless steel monster in the garage for the day that I see Samsung have an event at Lowes or Best Buy with reps in attendance in their bright blue Samsung Polos. I am going to wheel it in and smash its evil, water pumping (although most is pumped out of the bottom of the washer) heart right in front of them.
I have purchased this product (AR24HV5NBWKNNA) from Samsung Dealer in May 2014 and from the date of purchase Im not satisfied with the product. Installation of A/C was not proper as it took 12 hours by your engineer. Then in next year 2015 the A/C was not performing and called Samsung and executive visited and directly filled gas in warranty without inspecting the reason of leakage, and gradually after 3 months again cooling decreased. Also water leakage from indoor unit started immediately after refilling and now in current season when unit was started there was no cooling and when engineer visited on 1st call he immediately order a gas refilling without inspecting the reason for leakage. And so the second complaint was lodged and then that engineer inspected the actual reason for regular gas leakage i.e. leakage found in cooling coil which was the only reason for 1st time non cooling, which should have been searched and rectified in 2015 when the gas was refilled the first time. We were given an only option to replace to new cooling coil at our cost whereas I feel problem shouldnt have arised in the 1st year of purchase which I feel was not expected from the world leader brand like Samsung. Right now I and my Family uses Samsung brand TV, AC, refrigerator, phones, washing machine, microwave. Also further we have to install new units at my Factory and 2 Houses but now after experiencing such problem within a year I feel I should rethink over that. Also during water leakage from indoor unit my Indoor Wooden cabinet along with printer and mobiles were damaged. If you wish to see the leakage I have shot a video of it. Also, a suggestion. This kind of malfunction directly hits your Brand Reputation that how Samsung deals with its product Malfunctioning. I strongly request you to please look into this matter on priority as the season has started and there is a need to run the Air Conditioner. So replace the defective part or replace the whole unit.
Has anyone been able to contact and resolve issues with their Samsung refrigerators? Has anyone taken legal action? I bought my refrigerator four years ago from Sears. As I sit here typing this comment, my fabulous product is sitting over there broken! This makes the third time that the temperature sensor has failed and have lost all of my food. The second time the sensor went out, no one keeps these parts on hand and it had to be ordered from the manufacturer overseas. This ONLY took seven weeks to get here. Thankfully, I have a home warranty policy and they have repaired it. Well, my luck has run out. The repairman who came out yesterday told the warranty company that the sensor failed causing other parts failures. Now the warranty company is telling me that my policy wont cover this because if a warrantied part causes other equipment failures, the company wont cover them. This means $338, plus the $60 service call, out of MY pocket. The first two repairmen told me that Samsung appliances are ABSOLUTE JUNK!!!! Has anyone been able to get any action from Samsung or has anyone taken any legal action? Im in!!!
Purchased Samsung French Door Refrig and it was leaking water on floor from doors first week here. Service man said gaskets were bad and I asked that I get a replacement. Week later, replacement came and now door dont close properly. Tech came out to adjust and I was good, too bad... all French door refrigerators have this problem because one door is heavier than other (ice and water side is the lighter door). I should check every hour and make sure kids close doors hard. Not Acceptable.
I got the dreaded SE error message and went online because there is no troubleshooting article in the booklet. Did the Fix from a YOUTUBE video... and also learned from YOUTUBE videos that Samsung was providing new keypads on these because it was such a known defect. So I called Samsung... and was told that indeed they are NOT doing that... that I needed to contact the local repair person. So I did... and he told me to call Samsung again and lie to them that I was worried my microwave was going to burn down my house... thus forcing them to provide the free part (and service to install). So, all that to say that I wish I had purchased some other brand of microwave... note taken.
In May, 2016 we purchased a Samsung Microwave Model # ME16H702SES/A... and the rest of the number is not visible due to the fire which burned off the serial number and part of the model number. I suspect the fire started due to electrical arcing between the microwave housing and the door, because I had that on another model six years ago, and the arcing started while the unit was not being used. The fire started in October 2016 and we contacted Home Depot Canada, the vendor. They took the information and said someone from Samsung would be coming to look at the damage and by the middle of November 2016 no one had come. We called Home Depot again and they told us to contact Samsung Canada for help. We did so, and on December 2, 2016 we received an email from Meyson **, asking us for a copy of the store receipt and photographs of the damaged area. On December 14 I sent the photographs, also asking him to confirm the receipt of the information. He replied the same day stating he had not received the photographs, I sent them again the same day, both times I sent them, there was no negative feedback from the email system, and this indicates the emails had gone through. On December 23 I had not received a reply from Meyson ** so I emailed him again indicating the length of time it was taking to acknowledge and repair this product, and heard nothing from him.December 27, I called the Samsung Canada Specialty Group (where Meyson ** works) and he wasnt available so we described the problem to another support person, they said in order to help us they required an order number. Obviously they didnt know the difference between an order number and a ticket number. After 30-35 minutes on the phone with a few individuals, it was useless going forward. We called Home Depot again asking for the appliance rep in the store where we purchased the unit and he was on vacation. At this point there is little use in pursuing this through the Customer Support area so we will file an incident with the Better Business Bureau and the CSA Group since we have had more success with the CSA in the past than the vendor.
Samsung is absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with. The runaround is not unusual but outright lies which they refer to as misinformation. They offered me a store credit and went so far as to give me a number to fax my sales receipt to in order to facilitate said credit and later told me they dont even do store credits!!! Bought the dishwasher in 7/2017. Have had 3 repairs in 10 months and even when its working it does a terrible job and I want it removed and a refund. They absolutely refused despite repeated phone calls even up to someone at the office of the president who gave me the same line. NO REFUNDS, exchange only. No thank you. Absolutely disgusted with this company.
We bought a whole new kitchen set, all Samsung. The dishwasher did not work from day 1. It arrives dead on arrival. We were renovating our kitchen so we were not able to install it until about a month and a half after receiving it from the store. It did not work. Lights just flashed on the display and that’s all it did. No one informed us when we bought the set that there was a 30 day replacement clause, Samsung insisted on fixing it and would not exchange it. 4 visits from a tech and a month and a half later the dishwasher is finally fixed. They replaced all boards inside as well as the door switch and wiring harness. Still not working. We paid for a proper working dishwasher and are left with a refurbished unit if they ever get it working. Samsung was not helpful at all. Not willing to stand behind their products even when it arrived with a factory flaw. I would never buy a Samsung product ever again because of this terrible customer service and lack of standing behind their product. I would recommend that no one support this terrible company. You will get burned if you buy from them and have any issues.
I bought model RS267 LBSH side by side in May 08 from Lowes. Right off, the ice maker never worked properly and we were blown off by repair (it never dispensed cubed ice and will block up with big chunks). Digital temperature reading seemed to be off. At times, things in the freezer were frozen rock hard and at other times almost soft. Reading the complaints, we should have bought an in fridge temp checker as I know the temps were fluctuating a lot although the in door reading showed a constant 0 and 38 degrees. Today, the unit quit cooling, but the door temps still read normal. We would not have known until the next morning except that hubby went into the freezer for a popsicle and they were melting. We threw stuff in the chest freezer, and put fridge stuff outside since its in the 30s here right now. I tried all the troubleshooting (what little I could find) from the Samsung site and nothing worked. After going through the complaint, I feel lucky we got 3 1/2 years before the 60 degree mark. Now, Im trying to decide whether to trash our good looking but problem prone fridge and buy another. Im not sure I want to pay for iffy repairs if we can even find anyone here that will work on them. Its the first time I have ever had a major appliance quit working like that so young in its age. This makes me never want to buy another Samsung product again. So Im now researching for more reliable fridge brands.
My stove is really great. I especially love the center eye which is longer and used for grilling. Also the self cleaning oven which really does a good job. I can put the eye covers in my dishwasher to clean them if they get greasy.
What hasnt gone wrong. The latest problem is the handle on the freezer drawer. It keeps coming off. There are two bolts that screw into the freezer drawer that the handle attaches to. The problem is, the refrigerator has a latent known defect in which the threaded piece inside the drawer the bolt screws into breaks off inside the drawer. This is clearly a latent defect with the manufacturing of the product. Samsung considers this a cosmetic issue. Huhhhh, they would not honor the repair and wanted me to purchase another warranty. We have had many other issues like the ice machine, water filter and so on. I am so done with Samsung – a crappy product, bad service. Dont buy.
Purchased Samsung dishwasher in October 2014. By December it was showing codes. It really took 6 months to get Samsung to send a repair company. Three visits later, the machine finally worked after replacing all master boards, pumps, drains, etc... Samsung was horrible to deal with. The machine again does not work and is showing the same codes; we had to wash all dishes and use the CLR cleaner the repair people gave us to no avail. Samsung will not back their product. The repair company refuses to repair a Samsung product (this is Samsungs registered repair company) and we have an $800 machine that does not work and has not work for more than a couple of months. We are now going to try getting help from the Better Business Bureau. Samsungs customer care is HORRIBLE!
Purchased my dishwasher back in July 2014 and have come across the same problem the heavy and auto switch light keeps flashing and the dishwasher stops working. Ive had to call and have someone come fix it 3x now. This is stupid... never again buying Samsung.
SMH8165 - I have tried a few different things suggested for this microwave. What finally seems to have stopped it is I took the keypad off and disconnected the thin wires from the circuit board. They are towards the top of the board in the middle. They seem to go to the sensor that was malfunctioning. We do not use the sensor cook modes so that resolved the SE error for us. Wont buy another Samsung OTR Microwave. They have twice the repair rate of other models according to a popular consumer reporting site.
We purchased this french-door, two-drawer, refrigerator (Model # RF23M8090SR/AA) in late August, 2017. For the first year it worked flawlessly, then... the ice maker decided to go to hell-in-a-handbasket. As was noted (and perfectly photographed by Linda of Muskogee, OK. on March 15, 2019) ours began to do EXACTLY the same thing. The ice would begin to drop out of the freezer tray, get caught in big clump and freeze before dropping into the bin thereby jamming the bin INTO the compartment for the ice maker and making it impossible to remove without potentially damaging the bin itself.Upon contacting Samsung (today; I finally lost it and set up a service call demanding they fix this POS.), it is alleged that Im still under warranty and my service call is covered. However, after seeing the various reviews for THIS VERY PROBLEM, Im NOT OPTIMISTIC that anything positive will come from the service call. Not to be deterred and, like so many others, having paid good money for my fridge, Im thinking about contacting my State Attorney General and looking into some possible legal action against Samsung. Anyone like to jump on this bandwagon with me? Ive simply had enough and will not buy another refrigerator without compensation from Samsung, first! (And, certainly NOT anything made by Samsung!)
I spent over $2500 for a new Samsung counter depth refrigerator in mid 2015 after I remodel my kitchen. It works fine for about 1 1/2 year. After 1 1/2 year, I started to have problems. A year ago the freezer will not go down to the temperature I set. Even I set it to minor 8 degree F, it only went down 15 degree F. I was advised by some website to reset the refrigerator by turning off the power overnight. I did and it worked again. Six months ago, no ice came out from the ice maker. I open the ice maker and found it completely frozen. I turned the power off and blow some warm air to melt the ice. After I removed the ice, it worked again.A couple weeks ago, the freezer warmed up again. This time, I know resetting the refrigerator can only solve the problem for a few months so I called Samsung service center. A technical came, open the freezer and spent half an hours checking. He told me that defrost sensor went bad and the ice built up blocking the cold air from entering the freezer. Also the cover needed to be replaced. I ask him if the repair will take care of the ice maker frozen problem. He told me that it is a different problem and many people have the same problem due to design issue and Samsung offered to repair it free even warranty expired. I called Samsung but with no luck, Samsung refused to have it fixed. Repairing the ice maker will cost another $400.The technician left and 2 days later, another technician came with the parts. He did some more checking and told me that the cover did not need to be replaced but the control board did not send power to the heater. Unfortunately, the previous technician did not check the control board so he need to order the control board and will come back later. He told me that I should purchase extended warranty. I went to online chat with Samsungs Chat site and was told that I can purchase extend warranty even the refrigerator warranty expired. The gentlemen even told me that the I should get some discount for the current repair if I elected to purchase extended warranty. He gave me the number to call.I called Samsung extended warranty department and found out that extend warranty cost $550 a year and will be effective 30 days after all repairs were done and I needed to show them receipts of all repairs. There will be no discount to current repair either. I was surprised that extended warranty cost $550/year for a refrigerator. The conclusion was the refrigerator will experience problems very often, maybe an average of once a year because average repair cost will be 4 to 5 hundred dollar each time. This policy tells us to expect Samsung refrigerator to be repaired once a year. This morning, I found out that the water dispenser at the refrigerator started leaking. Oh boy, another problem I have to deal with. I did a quick estimate. It will cost me about $1450 to have everything repaired and spend $550 for a one year extended warranty. That is $2000. Should I buy a new one instead. My last refrigerator was a 20 years old GE. It is still in the garage working fine. The other one was a 35 years old Whirlpool. I gave it away when I purchased the Samsung. My GE and Whirlpool gave me a combined 55 years of trouble free service while the Samsung gave me 3 problems in 2 1/2 years.
Our model RF217ACBP refrigerator, purchased from Sears, has worked well except that it has developed a problem with water accumulating in the right crisper drawer. This is a french door model, with a bottom freezer compartment and dual evaporators. I suspect the problem is a plugged or frozen drain, but have not yet located the problem. Other than the fact that we cannot use one of the crisper, the refrigerator works well.
Known Defect with ice maker that broke in the first year. It was challenging to get Samsung to fix it and there are still problems after the fix. I have mold inside the fridge and inconsistent temperatures.
From the first day it was installed, the door does not close properly. At the top it is out by 1/2 inch and only closes properly when the self-cleaning oven feature is used. Its like there are no springs to pull it in like other ovens that we have owned. Poor design or poor assembly. Dont know???
Big regrets, Samsung appliances are terrible. Purchased a 28 ft.³ Samsung French door refrigerator at Home Depot in 2015, within a year started having trouble with the icemaker. It freezes over, Samsung solution is to defrost it. I’ve done that for years. Now it’s getting worse, I used to be able to go a few months. Now can barely go a few weeks. It is an extreme inconvenience and definitely not something I expected out of a refrigerator that costs as much as this one. My only advice AVOID SAMSUNG unless you enjoy headaches & shady business ethics - oh and junk appliances!! This is a design defect and Samsung knows this yet will not recall these big hunks of junk. It is criminal what they’re getting away with!
I bought a Samsung refrigerator that stopped working after 2 weeks of use and was told by the Home Depot that they couldnt replace the unit and that I will have to call the manufacturer which is Samsung. I do so ... After talking with Samsung I was told they wont replace the unit even if it was a day old and that their policy was to repair the unit and if they were unable to do so only then would they consider replacement... Its really hard to buy any type of appliance and have it malfunction after a few days use and have to have it repaired... I think thats so wrong. SHAME ON YOU SAMSUNG. Totally unsatisfied customer >>>BEWARE of SAMSUNG. Will never buy another Samsung product...
I purchased a Samsung refrigerator 3 years ago. Ive been having problems since then. It is covered under warranty but this time is the last straw! My refrigerator has extreme mold and black smut that was blown in my air vent through my entire home. Its all over my curtains, furniture, dishes, appliances etc. Lowes refuse to pay for my damages. My family and Ive been inhaling this smut for almost 2 months. Ive decided to get an attorney involved. This is unfair!
Samsung french door bottom freezer refrigerator. Fridge is 23 months old. Started making a loud racket when opening door, stops then when door closed starts up again. Drive one nuts as really really loud. Then it stopped after a few hours of off and on. Suddenly the temps on front (digital readouts) started flashing? Book said pull power plug, wait ten minutes, then plug back in. Did so, and the temps just climbed up...was up to 69 degrees F in Fridge and up in Freezer as well. Left it sit for a while, called Samsung Cust. service (if you can call it that). They asked a few questions and then said, Oh, you have a ONE year warranty, sorry. I said WHOA --- there is three years on SOME parts and TEN YEARS on compressor. Do YOU know exactly what is wrong? They then said, wait one minute --- then came back and said, WE HAVE NO ONE IN YOUR AREA THAT IS A SAMSUNG REP. --- so sorry, you may want to call your own repair person (response came via e mail). I drove eight miles to HOME DEPOT where we bought the fridge (for nearly two thousand dollars) and the woman there got on the phone to Samsung on my behalf. After a long wait, she was told I would be getting a call in the next TWO days to schedule a tech to look at the refrigerator. So far, no call. All of a sudden, the fridge began to cool OK again... Maybe sounds like a computer board??? Still waiting for a call. I would never buy another Samsung, after getting the comments from the southern gal at Customer Service. I did finally speak to a supervisor (Shawn) who said, Oh, we have a guy that can check it out north of you... and gave me his number. I called the number --- voice said, the voicemail box for this number is FULL -- good bye. Whole episode is a JOKE and I have spent two + hours on the phone PLUS driving to Home Depot. I will avoid ANY SAMSUNG product after this response!!!
I have a Samsung RF25HMEDBSR/AA side by side refrigerator that is nearly 2 years old, The ice maker has been a pain since 6 months after it was purchased, the thing drips water constantly, is moldy, does not produce enough ice, etc. It is mounted in the refrigerator portion of the unit in the upper left corner. It seems like it does not stay cool enough to keep the ice fully frozen and functioning. I had the ice maker and auger replace under an extended warranty package (I have been forced to purchase the warranty to the tune of 300 plus dollars a year), because Samsung customer support will not address the issue. The ice maker failed again this weekend after functioning properly for about 4 months. Thank goodness the warranty is still in place so it will be covered. Come on Samsung there are a ton of bad reviews on this unit, step up to the plate and make this right for your loyal customers!
Our family purchased a Samsung French Door refrigerator (RFF266-AEPN) in fall 2016. It was about $1,600 and looks nice. In February 2018 (after 12 months - when the warranty expired), we heard random beeping noises in the afternoon and evenings with the freezer temperature panel fluctuating wildly from -8F to 2F. I had a bad feeling when two high-quality appliance repair companies both refused to diagnose or fix ANY Samsung refrigerators. The Sears Appliance Service Company said the freezer fan was broken and that the replacement part was $650 in addition to a service installation fee ($150). So, now Im stuck with purchasing a brand new refrigerator in less than 2 years! Beware if you purchase a Samsung refrigerator. Im never going to buy a Samsung-brand refrigerator again.
It is obvious that Samsung fridges have critical design problems. Those of us foolish enough to buy one know futile and frustrating it is to do with this company. The thing is now to spread the word to others so they dont make the same mistake. I posted an ad for the fridge in Craigslist under the title Samsung Sucks. I know it wont sell, but its a pretty effective way of spreading the word about this company and maybe, with any luck, it will cost them a few sales.
We have continually had issues with this product! The ice makers went out within a month. It has been replaced twice. Still gives problems. It freezes up. We have put just about the same money in it as the purchase price. We wanted a big nice refrigerator but got a big problem!!!
We purchased a Samsung French-door refrigerator and have experienced the same problems as many reviews I have read. Loud noises from the back, poor cooling in the refrigerator, and water leaking out from under the drawers in the bottom. We are really not satisfied and now looking to replace our refrigerator.
I wouldnt recommend this refrigerator. After only two months, the water line started leaking. The product was still under warranty. Samsung could not repair the water line hose nor would they agree to replace the refrigerator. The water line connects near the floor and Samsung claimed that the damage was caused by me. Horrible experience. Thankfully, Best Buy let me return the refrigerator - no questions asked.
Our Samsung Range NE59J7651WS has staining/streaking on the oven door glass that seems to be between the glass panes we purchased. The dealer says it is not on warranty. We purchased it 6 months with a 3 year warranty.
I purchased a home in October 2018 with a suite of 4-year-old Samsung appliances. The only good thing about the dishwasher is that its quiet. With that being said dishes often come out after being washed with food particles still on them and do not dry well. My issues started a month ago when the dishwasher wouldnt complete a full cycle - it was stuck mid-cycle. I chatted with a Samsung rep who said to flip the switch off and back on on the circuit breaker. This reset the dishwasher and it did complete the cycle. Two weeks later, the dishwasher lights were flashing, it was making a suction noise, flashing a LE code and wouldnt power off. I had to shut off the circuit breaker.I chatted again with a Samsung tech, who promised a tech would be out the following Monday. That was the 1st lie. The technician couldnt come until Wednesday and I had to pay $100 for a trip fee (the rep never mentioned this) because its out of warranty. Tech comes out and says I need a new door because the door wont properly lock - which will be $230. I have a hard time believing the door is suddenly the issue considering the dishwasher is 4 years old. After reading the other nightmare reviews on this site, Im certainly not going to funnel $330 into the repair of a garbage appliance - which should work properly. Even after taking my issues to Twitter, Samsung has still yet to respond. Garbage appliances + terrible customer service = me spending money to buy a new Bosch dishwasher. Save your money and avoid Samsung appliances like the plaque! Ive also had to reset the circuit breaker on the 4-year-old refrigerator a couple of times. Never had any issues with the 9-year-old suite of Kenmore appliances in my last home.
We struggled with a Samsung RF263 for 3 years. Finally it shut off with NO WARNING; was 50 degrees when I realized it. THIS is a major food safety issue, especially with elders who may not pay attention and have repeated bouts of diarrhea because of spoiled food! I reported this as a safety issue to CPSC. Within 48 hours I was contacted by Samsung to schedule a COURTESY tech visit - this after they repeatedly claimed the behavior was normal. He moved the sensor! Two years later I can say I am very happy with the damned thing. Had two Samsung Microwaves let the smoke out with a year of purchase. Lowes replaced first, I threw out the second. Turns out the power transformer uses copper clad wire rather then solid. Bought a GE and NO issues. Then there was the LED TV fiasco. Kept turning off after three years. Almost threw it out until I discovered the class action settlement where they had to to come to the home, replace the 15 cent electrolytic capacitors in the power supply with 50 cent capacitors. Turns out there was actually a business where savvy people bought up broken tvs and replaced the caps. Took the tech all of 15 minutes to do in my home. Samsung close engineers their products. I will NEVER buy another Samsung even though I expect this refrigerator to work for another 15 years. Want to get it fixed? File a food safety complaint with CPSC!!!
I have Samsung side-by-side refrigerator model RS267LASH/XAA bought in March 4th, 2006. A few days ago, its fridge side stopped cooling and all the food inside went bad. Now the fan on the fridge side is noisy. The noise stops as soon as I open the fridge side door. There is no cooling on the fridge side. When I investigated this issue, it seems like this is a very common issue with Samsung refrigerators. This is a just a six years old refrigerator and I always clean it every month. Never in my life had I any problems with the refrigerators I used. I have found out that Samsung people know about this problem, but they wont fix it. I have to pay for it as the warranty is over.
We have purchased a Samsung slide-in range double oven ($1842.29), model (NE58F9710WS/AA) (1 year warranty plus 1 year extended warranty), on 8/22/2015. First time, I did use the self cleaning function. First issue: The TCO (=partition part MELTED in the back of the stove). Technician came: diagnosis 4/4/16, fixed 4/11/16 and 4/26/16. I have been told to use steam cleaning function instead of self cleaning option!!! But one of my criteria purchase always has been to buy an oven with self cleaning function which is so opened to work properly and safely. Second time I did use the self cleaning function (5/31/2016), halfway (1 hour 10 min) thru (3 hours in manual) the control panel died, the oven door locked, the range, the stone countertop, the kitchen cabinets, the glass backsplash way too, too hot!!Calling right away 18007267864. The customer service told me to wait at least 8 hours to let the oven cool down. I couldnt believe my ears. Next day, oven door still locked, calling again customer service explaining I didnt trust anymore this product, asking for an exchange or refund, refusing a repair service. Samsung product Review denied my request over a long week fight with agents, supervisors, executive from customer service, I had no other choice than accepting a service repair or keeping an useless range-oven. Technician came (6/9/2016), diagnosis temperature sensor BROKE, got it fixed. Technician witnessed our closest kitchen cabinet from oven have been damaged by the excessive heat!! 2 hazard issues in less in 2 months!! I think it is a huge safety hazard. Now, I am questioning about the safety of my home because of the Samsung cheaply constructed range oven.
We purchased this product on July 27 2017. Months after we purchased it the ice maker started icing up and water started dripping inside the fridge. When you would hit the ice button you would first get water then ice would drop. The ice would not be totally frozen. Then water would drip out after you were finished. Three different times they have replaced the whole ice maker. On Nov 8 2018 they told our repair man they were going to do an exchange. Then on Nov 29 they had another company come in and fix it (3 time). On Jan 24 it started doing the same thing. When we contacted Samsung they told us it is now our problem. They are not going to fix it again. They totally lied to us about exchanging it. This fridge is nothing but junk and headaches. We ended up going to Sams Club and purchased an ice maker. You spend nearly $3000.00 for a refrigerator and you cant even have it make ice. Buy from a different company. They know they have problems with this refrigerator and they wont stand behind them. We will never have another Samsung in our house. Read other reviews on this. I know others have the same issue. We read them but we thought they had the issues resolved. Boy did we find out the hard way.
I have a Samsung French door refrigerator with the cooling drawer. This is the worst product. I have contacted Samsung and they sent me to a service company who has come out three times and the refrigerator is still not working. First the freezer wouldn’t cool. The technician added Freon twice. Now both the refrigerator and freezer have stopped working. The item is icing up and the ice maker doesn’t work and makes a strange noise. All I get is the runaround from Samsung. So three missed days of work and two grocery orders ($600 - I have a large family of 6) later I still have not refrigerator/freezer. Buyer beware - avoid Samsung at all cost. Their customer service is horrible. Even the repair contractor said they have all kinds of issues with Samsung and the company will require that all parts are replaced before they will replace the item - even if the parts are unrelated to the problem. I am filing a BBB against Samsung. They know their products are defective/faulty.
Weve owned a number of Samsung products from washer/dryer units to dishwashers and microwaves. Our family has been pleased with the quality of those products. The refrigerators are another story altogether. About 6 months after getting our stainless Samsung fridge, the front of both doors began rusting. This seemed absurd and I called Samsung expecting some kind of answer and/or assistance in dealing with this. Wrong! Not only did their customer service team insist that this was purely a cosmetic problem so not covered under any kind of product warranty, but when I escalated this to a specialty department, I was told that nothing would/could be done, the problem was mine, and basically too bad. A fridge should not rust after a few years let alone a few months. This was shocking. Im now totally turned off the Samsung brand and will no longer be purchasing their products. When I said this to the service team, their response was oh well. Nice.
I am loving my new Samsung oven and microwave. It is top of the line. Loving using it!!!! The ability to set the oven temp from my phone is wonderful. Love the options to be able to clean with steam or heat.
There is non defect with the ice maker which cause water leakage and fridge not to operate properly. Thousands are experiencing this issue without resolution. Support cases are automatically closed as soon as you attempt to get service.
Model RF217ACWP. Bought at Best Buy 2 1/2 years ago. Same water in crisper problems experienced by other Samsung owners. But, also, the paint is peeling off all three the door handles big time! Of course, Best Buy has never heard of anything like this before. Also, Samsung said this was the first they had ever had such a problem and were surprised at our photos. Of course, it is a cosmetic issue and they will do nothing. We are told to purchase new handles and were referred to a parts company who claim they are not part of Samsung. They havent told us the cost. We are thinking removing the handles and taking them to an auto body repair shop to be repainted. Think that will work? It seems with all of the lawyers out there, someone would do a class action against Samsung since it is apparent they are selling a product with a known defect -- the water, freezing issue. Hey, where are the lawyers? Count me with those who WILL NEVER AGAIN BUY SAMSUNG!!!
We purchased the DW80 series stainless dishwasher less than a week ago & only used it twice. 2nd use it would not drain & leaked water all over the floor. Customer service at Samsung is of no help & warned me we will be liable for service charges for their technician to repair. This is a joke... the appliance is less than a week old! I bought a full set of Samsung appliances & should have better researched to learn of the poor quality of their products prior to purchase. Buyers BEWARE - invest your money with another manufacturer that has reputable service & quality!
Bought the refrigerator (Samsung Model RS2556SH) on 10/15/2004 and, except for the ice maker and the fact that its a bit noisy, it has worked well ever since it was installed. While the ice maker does make ice, there is usually a mixture of crushed and cubed ice and the selection setting doesnt make much difference. Im writing the review because, after reading the reviews posted on this site, I felt I should offer a positive review and let readers know there is at least one person whos had a fairly good experience with a Samsung refrigerator.
I purchase this refrigerator in November 2013. By February I was on my first of many repair calls. Like everyone else the icemaker how many times. Then a new problem - the door seal was not working... Ice maker... then icemaker... icemaker... Hey a new problem- the door on the right started to pop, popped on closing. Started on Saturday January 26, 2019, now January 30, 2019 popping stopped. Now door will not close, having to put a chair in front to keep it close. I have contract. Was told this is not included in contract. Given another number to call. Very pleasant, no help. I want my purchase price back or a new refrigerator. Too much money to be unhappy. Do not buy, but if you dont mind the headache, beautiful in the kitchen.
My husband and I purchased a new home July 2016. Kitchen had brand new appliances. We already had a repair done in Samsung dishwasher in which took over a week to get repaired. That was only after 5 uses. December 23, 2016 my refrigerator failed. Lost everything. Called the customer service at Samsung because they are brand new appliances. They should not be failing. The few people that I spoke to were not able to help get someone out. Spoke to supervisor. Got a local repair to come out that Friday to tell us what we known it was the compressor. Its a holiday weekend, company was coming and a baby in house. Samsung certainly did not see our frustrations. The guy at repair center said it will take 3 to five days for part to come in. That brings us to the middle of the week. Called repair center said it may be in Friday. I called Samsung again today 12/27/16 and told them the issue. Basically there is nothing they could do other than wait for the part even though it will be almost 2 weeks without a refrigerator that should not have failed (in warranty repair). I asked the supervisor at Samsung if they can expedite the part. She said no theres nothing they can do other than wait. Again I tried pleading my case. I have a baby in the house and other young children not to mention it is 60 out in RI today and losing everything in coolers. They did not resolve this pressing issue or the fact that I lost too and bottom of the food in refrigerator that is worth about 300 and the food I had to replace that I lost. Their customer service is just trained to patch the problem. They sound more like counselors than trying to make their product right.
Our Samsung Microwave SMH9187S had to have its motherboard replaced twice now in less than 3 years due to SE error and while run a few seconds and stopping. According to their own technical repair specialist it is a design problem with moisture which occurs when cooking food on the stove below their over-the-range Samsung Microwave SMH9187S units (Very Expensive Issue to continually have to fix). See all the complaints with Samsung on the Internet regarding not fixing known design and potential safety issues with its products and discontinuing them once issues start to mount to avoid additional liability. They just say its out of warranty and not our problem, call a Samsung authorized service company to have repairs made. This will be the last Samsung product we ever buy again (that includes everything Samsung makes from refrigerators, oven, stoves washers, dryers, phones, tablets, TVs, laptops, electronics, etc. And especially microwaves). When a company knowing refuses to stand behind its product design defects the only course for consumers is to not trust or purchase any products from that company and warn all your friends and neighbors regarding of the companies business practices after the sale and they have got your money. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
We have had this fridge for almost 18 months. We bought it from Best Buy along with a 5-year warranty. When Best Buy delivered it all 3 doors had massive dents in them. They brought new ones within a few days. The ice maker has spewed ice chips no matter what size/shape the glass you use or where you hold it under the dispenser, ice goes all over the floor. The ice maker makes so much noise in the process of making ice that it makes a crashing sound. The right side door doesnt stay open!!! The wonderful techs at Best Buy have been out at least 5 times to repair both, along with sending new parts, etc. and it is just the same as before they tried anything new. This is a defective appliance and NO ON CARES!!! The go through the motions to honor the warranty and now there is nothing they can do. Samsung is even more worthless. How can two large companies be allowed to continually rip people off with products and services that dont work properly? Are there longer morals and truth in business? Who do we have to stand up for all of us collectively? Where is accountability?
Bought on Black Friday 2011, waited 4 months for delivery. Six months later, noticed that the freezer door wasnt opening easily or closing all the way. Discovered the bottom of unit under the freezer door had ice building up underneath it. Busted it up & got it all out, freezer drawer worked perfectly. Few weeks later, it started all over again. Called Lowes, where it was purchased, & they told me no warranty, as it was now year since purchase date. My argument was that I had not actually had possession of it for a year, only 8 months. Got nowhere with Lowes, so every few weeks I get on my hands & knees & break all of the ice out of the bottom.I cant find any water leaks & have no idea where the freezing water comes from. Also want to mention that a piece of the cover for the above ice maker fell off at approx 6 months, and a piece of the bottom ice maker did the same at around a year. Got a great Black Friday price for this $2,800 refrigerator, but I wouldnt give 2 cents for another one!! My fridge before this was 14 yrs old & was Kenmore, it was ugly & outdated but worked way better than this new Samsung!!!
Seems to have electrical and computer issues. Number 4 stopped working on oven temp. Had to switch to Centigrade so could enter temps below 400 range. Light inside flickers and sputters. Seal on glass door front isnt tight- so there is a lot of smudge between glass.
Purchased a new Samsung dishwasher. After a short time, I noticed a horrible odor and our dishes never seem to be clean. We always rinse our dishes well and use a rinse aid. Called Sears for service, which I had to pay for. The technician cleaned between the door and said I need to keep it clean. No matter what I do, I cannot get the smell out of the dishwasher. I agree with the others who have posted--there needs to be a class action lawsuit against Samsung. How do we go about doing this?
I purchased a Samsung dishwasher less than 2 years ago. I have had it fixed 3 times since then. Its out again!!! Im done with Samsung!!! I wish I had of read the horrible reviews before buying one. Wont buy anything Samsung again!!!
This little used microwave stopped functioning. The display reads SE. I called Samsung and was told it was covered as a known issue; an appliance repair company was assigned to fix it. The repair company called, they had received an email from Samsung regarding my washing machine! I told them it was a microwave. They said call Samsung back and get the correct info sent to them. I called Samsung. In our conversation I was unable to give them the serial no. It is placed on the inside of the microwave where you clean and subsequently had been scrubbed off. Samsung said that voids the warranty. They will not cover the microwave. Incompetent to place a sticker on an inside wall. I emailed the sales receipt to no avail. I do not recommend buying Samsung microwaves. I will never buy Samsung again.
We bought our Samsung fridge in Dec 2014. In June 2018 we called Samsung 6 times because our ice maker stopped working. Nobody would call us to schedule an appt to come and fix it. We had to have it repaired for by ourselves (was told no one will work on warranty repairs on Samsung because they take too long to get their money from them). Now a year later the refrigerator side of the unit is completely out and not working, and we are going through the same thing all over again, no call backs from Samsung’s warranty repair people in our area. I had to move all my chilled items to a cooler and to my old garage Whirlpool fridge that is over 12 yrs old and it still works great, even in the summer heat in FL in a garage. I will be buying a Whirlpool again this weekend. Never again Samsung! They need to stick to making cell phones because they suck at making appliances, and their customer service stinks and reputation sucks!
After about 3 months of buying a Samsung side by side refrigerator from a Samsung representative in Iran, it started to make noisy sound. We called them (Samsung representative) and one of them came here to check and he told us that its engine sound, and the noise will stop if you clean the backward of refrigerator. But the problem didn’t solve. After sometime one of them called me and I told them the problem, but they answered me that it is a common side by side Samsung refrigerator problem and they easily shirked their responsibility! We didn’t pay attention to sound. It’s two months and the noise gets louder and it disturbs our sleeping in the middle of night and driving us crazy! At last today its noisy voice increased so that we plugged it off!
My husband and I purchased a white Samsung French door refrigerator (RF26XAEWP) about four years ago. Recently we are noticing that the porcelain beneath the water/ice dispenser has begun to rust. When I contacted Samsung customer service, I was told that the warranty had expired and that this was cosmetic damage and we would be responsible for the repair. I was given the phone number for the Samsung Repair Service for my area and that was it. When I expressed concern that this refrigerator was rusting after such a short period of time and that possibly the porcelain coating was improperly or inadequately applied, I was told there was nothing they could do as the appliance was no longer under warranty. So now I am going to have to pay $502.90 to replace the door. Apparently it is of no concern to them that I have to pay this, given the fact that we feel the problem was inadequate porcelain coverage in the first place. After 47 years of marriage and many refrigerator purchases (various brands), we have never experienced rust on the refrigerator. That being said, we will fix this appliance as we cannot afford to purchase a new refrigerator, but we will never purchase another Samsung appliance again. This refrigerator was purchased at Lowes in Kissimmee.
We purchased a Samsung side-by-side refrigerator from Home Depot in Feb. 2014. First problem - within weeks of purchase was that the vegetable drawer had no control for air/temp, fresh veggies died quickly, even carrots and root veggies. We bought $100 of special containers to be able to keep food as fresh as the old fridge. Then within the first two months, we began hearing the often-reported fan noise from ice buildup. This got worse over time and I finally called for service, also complaining about the veggie drawer. Prior to that scheduled service being performed, the next issue was the ice maker failing to shut off, even with the door open and jiggling the paddle switch. Another call to Samsung to add the new problem to the fan noise.Service arrived a week later, with a wrong ticket number, no warranty information, and no parts even for the known issue. The tech corrected the paperwork, inspected and ordered parts. Samsungs Andy then called me after the service to see if repairs were completed, and I told them of the problems with the unit, as well as Samsung not providing proper information for the tech so the service was a failure. I was told we could qualify for a buyback, which I said would be taken into consideration, and was there a time limit. I was told no time limit since the service issues were reported within the 1yr warranty period. When the parts arrived, I called Samsung to explain we were seriously considering the buyback, but were in process with the previous service issues, and should I allow the service to take place. I was told to allow the service and did so. The service was performed, both issues I reported separately were handled together on one ticket. The entire back panel housing the fan was iced up, which the tech confirmed is not normal. The ice maker continued to repeatedly dump ice without stopping, jam, freeze up and require removal, thawing and drying, even after the service.By this time we have opted for the buyback, and phoned Samsung to request it. This time I was told by executive customer service member John, that what Andy told me was not how the buyback worked. Buyback could only happen if the unit is deemed non-repairable with three repair attempts. I explained I already made three service calls, had two repairs, as well as complaints on the drawer issue, and other aspects of the design and quality that were proving very annoying. Another service call was scheduled. This time the tech arrived and was briefed on the history and issues, along with our desire to take the buyback. He ordered a new control panel, which arrived and was installed on yet another service call. The new control did not display properly and was defective. It was removed and the old one installed in its place. I immediately called Samsung to complain about their total failure, and was told they did not yet have the service information from the tech, it should be there in a day.I called a week later to inquire on status, and this time was told by exec c.s. rep, Sherry that not only were there not enough service calls and parts replaced to qualify for a buyback, she had no info from the service company on the service. When she said she had to check to see if we were within some 30 day time limit on the buyback, after having specifically asked two exec c.s. people about any time limitation, I was angry to say the least. There were more communications with Samsung on status of the buyback, process, requirements, schedule, and was given different stories and reasons every single time. I called on 11-10-14 to inquire the latest status of the most recent ticket regarding the buyback process, and the exec c.s. rep told me they had only one ticket on their records; I have at least seven ticket numbers for these issues, four of them being the 510-number range generated only at the executive level. When the tech arrived today, 11-12-14 I made it clear that the only resolution is deeming the unit unrepairable. Because one of our reported issued included cracks in the interior refrigerator walls, the tech was able to get a status of nonrepairable from Samsung. In doing so, the tech had to communicate with both his company and Samsung. The first Samsung rep he spoke to was extremely rude, and actually hung up on the tech. The tech called back, reached a supervisor, and with a few more calls finally got the nonrepairable status. Now I am waiting for Samsung to respond. Under California law, we have endured more than enough repair attempts to qualify for the Lemon Law requirement to buyback or replace the unit. Needless to say, for the combination of poor design, poor quality, and downright insulting customer service, there will never be another Samsung product in our home.Other problems with the unit included poor freezer door fit, hung crooked and uneven, gaps between the inner and outer shell where the door seal must fit, may allow warm air in. The tech showed me how the ice dispenser door does not seal properly and is not well insulated, also letting warm air into the freezer compartment.Another little surprise we got, partially because of the imperfect door hanging, is that we didnt get the freezer door shut all the way one night, and I found it in the early morning hours. Cleared out the ice maker so it wouldnt freeze solid, closed the door and left it alone. Checking in the morning, the display showed the set temp standard of -2F and 38F, so I thought all was well. But when I came in for some ice at 2pm and opened the door, the freezer was 58F with ice cream running on the floor. The unit did not reset without unplugging and replugging, a surprise because we had a power outage of several hours some time ago and the unit was fine.So if you are considering Samsung, I suggest not. As a coincidence, as the tech was here today, a friend called and I told him what was going on, beginning to describe the Samsung issues....before I could even get started, he chimed in with the same litany of problems I have experienced with his Samsung refrigerator. The independent service techs were all professional, and were sympathetic to our problems with Samsung. They did what they could to make it possible to allow us to get some resolution. Both techs who visited us multiple times have a very low opinion of Samsung and their products.
My Samsung refrigerator ice maker is leaking and icing up. I had an appliance repair company look at the problem and was informed that the repair would require the replacement of the ice maker, auger motor kit and clip pack. The parts totaled $497.39, plus $165 labor along with $39.07 tax, total $686.46. The repairman gave me all the part replacement information and recommended that I contact Samsung Customer service since the problem I am having is common for this model, RF28HMEDBSR/AA. The customer service rep looked up the serial number and said that the ref is three years old and that the ice maker is only under warranty for one year. I said, You mean that Samsung believes that the ice maker should only last one year plus and the ref and freezer should last five years. He stated that he could do nothing because that is the Samsung policy. My recommendation is DO NOT PURCHASE A SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR!
Purchased a RF267AERS/XAA French door model with bottom freezer. After 2 years, ice maker quit working and started freezing over and leaking water. 2 attempts to repair have failed by a certified Samsung repair specialist. I have read all the reviews with some of the same problems. I think a class action law suit is warranted especially since these are design defects from the start. Samsung is a HORRIBLE company must be made in North Korea!! I experienced the same POOR customer service from Samsung as everyone. They do nothing past the 1 year warranty even if it is a design defect. I know I will never buy a Samsung product of any kind again. It is a total POS!!!
We purchased all 4 appliances from Samsung when we moved into our new home (Refrigerator, stove, over-the-range microwave, and dishwasher). A package deal from the former Future Shop chain. Total price was just over $4,500 for the stainless steel set. Within one year, things started to fail. The fan on the convection stove stopped one month after the warranty ended. I fixed it myself to the tune of $90. 2 years on, the dishwasher grew louder and louder. The dishes never cleaned 100% perfectly. Eventually we had to wash the dishes when nobody was home (That loud). 36 months after purchase, the refrigerator began to ice up and stopped working. Two repair bills and 2 loads of spoiled food. We gave up on it and had to replace it. Repair bills were $200. Lost groceries were $250. New Frigidaire price? = $2500+. At the anniversary of year 4, the dishwasher quit. Bosch replacement? - $800.Now the microwave. The plastic door hook broke inside. I had to rig the tension spring onto another inside part so it would work. Then the top, plastic grill broke. The screw clips fatigued and split causing the grill to fall. Now the door wont close and the replacement part isnt made anymore. Cost to replace the microwave? - Still looking today (Probably +$500). So there you have it friends. DONT BUY SAMSUNG.
Cost about $2800. Pros: great energy savings, LED light, very well lighted inside and good use of space. Cons: The drawers are not seamless so food, spilled juices, spilled sauces flows into the seams and will NEVER come clean. The glass shelves are not seamless and the same issue with cleaning is the result. The Ice maker worked great for the 1st year after which it continuously leaks water down the front of the door and makes a high pitch whining noise 24/7. Samsung will not warranty the ice maker. The French doors do not open all the way so it is a real struggle pulling out the drawers and shelves. Recommendation: NEVER purchase a Samsung fridge... EVER AGAIN.
Purchased Samsung model RF263AEBP french door less than 2 yrs back of refrigerator inside where fan is froze. Had repairman come out and he put some type of foil on it and the fan started working again, cost 200.00. Now 3/29/16 it started again. Wonder how much it will be this time. I would not recommend Samsung to anyone!!!
Zero support. Dishwasher dead 14 months. I tried both chat support and their online message board - chat hung up on me and mod wont reply when I give the serial number and they find 14 month dishwasher out of warranty for two months. Spent $200 to diagnose and parts more than the dishwasher - repair guy says Samsung like toilet paper - disposable and zero reliability. Bought $2500 Bosch this morning and this crap going in the dump.
Recently bought a home that had fairly new Samsung appliances. Not thrilled with brand to begin with. After experiencing several service calls, I will NEVER EVER BUY SAMSUNG APPLIANCES. Fridge was leaking, tech came and cleaned lines. Thought it was resolved. Then we had problems with ice maker. Did some kind of service. Didnt resolve loud banging noise. (2 service calls) Had to buy brand new ice maker... another service call. Fridge started leaking again. My research concluded that the line behind back wall needs a clip. Wall has to be totally removed and line repaired... another $189. OR we can shut down fridge overnight and it will resolve. Well, that worked... for a month. Now I have the pooling of water under the produce shelf which ultimately leaks onto floor. Do I dare call the service tech again??? What else is lurking after this problem? Way too many problems with these expensive and newer appliances! Do you know if there is a class action suit regarding these appliances, and if so... Im IN!
Honestly, I can only echo every complaint that has been voiced by other owners of Samsung French Door refrigerator. 6 years old!!! Loud noise, cracked plastic shelving and bins, ice building up under back panel, etc. After weighing out the cost of another repair call, we have decided to buy another refrigerator today. We have defrosted it for 36 hours. It was fine for 2 days. All of the appliances in my home are Samsung. OMG the nightmare will continue. DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR. THERE IS A DESIGN FLAW THAT THE COMPANY REFUSES TO ADDRESS. If my 6 year old model and your new refrigerator are experiencing the same problems, the company is at fault. Where is a class action lawsuit? Im in.
Our town experienced a power outage which cause our 10-month-old Samsung Refrigerator electrical/digital problems - freezer/fridge temperature indicator pad reading 88/88. This also controls ice and water so those are out also. Fortunately the freezer and refrigerator as still cooling, but I have no idea if this is to the correct temperature. Samsung 1st year warranty service is so far a joke. I called Samsung and they gave me the number of the warranty service contact for my area said they would call them and tell them it was urgent. Samsung gave an old number for Service Click and I tracked them down. They were to call in two or three days (thankfully the food is still cold). This is the fourth day so I called them. I was put on hold for 30 minutes, then got a message to leave my number and the nature of the problem and they would call back. This service is 350 miles away in Southern California. That would be quite a drive. More on this later. The more I wait the angrier I get. Right now I am Dissatisfied.
I purchased a French door with freezer on bottom; within a few months, the right side handle came off. I called Samsung and was told they would send me a new handle; never received a handle. Now, in the last few days, the left side handle’s paint is peeling, like it’s been repainted. I will never buy anything Samsung again, especially after seeing all the bad reviews.
Samsung Model RF28HMEDBSR. Worst ice maker I have ever had. The cubes come out like large crushed ice. The ice maker had to be replaced, about 6 months ago, now it is doing the same thing freezing up and has to be manually defrosted to work again (about every 2 weeks). The refrigerator is nosier than most - I can handle that - but I like my ice. I would not recommend this refrigerator to anyone that like their ice.Updated on 03/23/2018: Well I am back to the repair mode--ice maker worked for a while. I have had to defrost it twice this month and today when the tech came out, it was frozen up so bad that he had trouble removing the ice bin. Sigh! -They are going to replace the icemaker AGAIN. Thank God for the extended warranty.
When I purchased my new home in July of 2010, I decided to buy my dream refrigerator along with it. I purchased the Samsung French door from Lowes for about $2500 - a real splurge for a single school teacher. I didnt get the extended warranty because I figured that anything that expensive would be well made with excellent customer service. Wrong on both counts. The first refrigerator lasted two weeks. The water spout wasnt working so Lowes told me to get a plumber. I had the plumber come and $100 later, the problem was still there. Finally, after a lot of complaining, Lowes switched it out for another one. I blamed the problem on Lowes, thinking they gave me a floor model. The replacement worked much better until I noticed snow on the right side of the freezer (about 6 months later). Of course I figured I did something wrong. I was still in denial that Samsung would sell a piece of junk for top dollar. I cleaned out the freezer and was careful about closing the door. Then I noticed the food in fridge would be completely soggy to the point where I had to throw things away. My biggest mistake was waiting a year and a half to call them. They told me to troubleshoot and go from there. This past holiday, the snow was so bad that my food was ruined in the freezer. I have gone the rounds with Samsung. They told me it will cost $500 and they will not pay any of it. Basically, what they are saying is it is okay for them to sell a product to a consumer for $2,500 and then expect a repair of 20% of that price in two years. Mind you, I am a single senior who barely opens the freezer or fridge for that matter. I take care of my things and never in all my years had to repair or replace any appliance owned. Samsung needs to make this right. They need to step up to the plate with integrity and replace all our defected refrigerators. Consumers have rights. It is illegal to sell someone something and not have it perform the function it was meant to do. I am boycotting all Samsung products and urging you to do the same. Please, please, please if you are considering a Samsung, please do not purchase. This refrigerator is defective.
We purchased our Samsung dishwasher in late 2014. It needed repair within three months when water was not pumping out of the bottom of the unit. The repairman said that it was a common problem... so common that he usually had several of the replacement parts on his truck. This time he didnt so it took two trips so there was a total of almost two weeks without the machine. Since then the dishwasher has been very noisy and I should probably call the repairman again but I figure something else will go wrong sooner or later. We did purchase a Lowes extended warranty. I find that the machine is hard to load. Perhaps I should have taken one of my plates to the store to try it out. It cleans ok... not remarkable but no major complaints especially if I wash things well before I put them in. I am sorry that I bought this item.
On April 12, 2017, we bought a Samsung French Door refrigerator with in-door ice maker and water supply, from Home Depot, with a 5 year extended warranty. We loved it, but it has now had 4 ice maker failures, requiring 3 trips by technicians to get it to work again. The ice maker freezes solid and requires extensive defrosting just to get into it to see what is wrong. Unfortunately, this latest time, Samsung says there is nothing wrong with the refrigerator and refused to do anything about replacing it. We are truly disappointed. Needless to say, we will never buy another Samsung appliance.
The door in door refrigerator I purchased had multiple icemaker problems so after multiple calls to the service center they arranged to pickup that unit and replaced it with a brand new unit. Thank you.
We purchased a Samsung French Door Fridge and purchased a warranty with it. Within a few months the compressor died. While I can understand that equipment may occasionally be defective, what I was more shocked about was the terrible service in honoring their warranty. We got a runaround for TWO WEEKS before a serviceman made his way to our house only to tell us that the fridge could not be repaired. It took another two weeks to get it replaced. Shame on you! I will never purchase another Samsung product, and would advise the rest of you not to.
Bought the Samsung dishwasher Oct. 2011. Major prob. with some clips breaking off and getting stuck, 2 repair visits. Then stop working again. Next repair person said needs new motor and easier to replace whole dishwasher. Of course, out of warranty time, period. Refuse to purchase anything from Samsung again. At same time, I purchased the fridge and range and now fridge is having issues.
Samsung refrigerator ice maker freezes up and has issues with temperature. This is a manufacturers defect, a design defect, and Samsung sold the refrigerator knowing that it has recurring issues. There are several service bulletins about this and Im aware of many complaints due to this defect. We have had issues with this fridge since purchasing due to this defective design flaw.
Bought 4 appliance package from Costco. All are good except for the range. Could not be worse. When it heats on high (say to boil pot of water), to turn down you have to go all the way to low and then come back up to where you want. Had repairmen out for the second time today. They agreed it’s weird and contacted designers who said THATS THE WAY THEY DESIGNED IT. Are you KIDDING??? They obviously don’t cook and don’t test these things themselves. I’ve had at least 25 stoves in my lifetime. Four of them glass top. And with NONE of them did I either have knobs that didn’t immediately respond when turned up or down (mine take up to 39 seconds to respond!!!), or did I have to nearly turn off and restart over to choose a new heat setting. DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG RANGE!!!!!!
I have a Samsung microwave model SMH9187 that needs a new PCB due to a manufacturing default. The first technician that came out would not repair the microwave until I removed it from over the oven. Im a 67 year old female who obviously cant remove the oven nor do I know how. The technician left without repairing the microwave. After another long tedious phone call with Samsung they had a different service call me to schedule appointment. The technician was suppose to be here between 1-5. Its now 5:30 - no technician, no phone call. Contacted Samsung and they will have the service company call me within 1-2 days to schedule ANOTHER appointment. I will never buy anything manufactured by Samsung. Such poor customer service.
Bought this refrigerator in 2012 and its been nothing but problems with the coils freezing causing the cooling fan to stop working. Ive had a tech come at least 4 times in the last 6 months. I spent about $1500 on this fridge and it should have lasted longer than this. Now I have either buy a new one or keep buying a yearly warranty. How is this refrigerator not on a recall list? Feeling ripped off by Samsung. I will never buy a Samsung product again.
SE display on control panel - Model SMH9207ST - 2 years and 8 months after installation, the SE display started to appear. Turning power off-on, sometimes would start it going again for only a few days. Unfortunately, this action is not working any longer. Have contacted Samsung and according to them, there are no complaints on this model (I found numerous) and since its over one year old, well have to pay for any repair. Since this is an over the range model, built in my remodeled kitchen, Im stuck with this piece of crap! To make matters worse, we are also experiencing problems with their refrigerator (purchased at the same time as the microwave) and their Smart TV, purchased in July 2012. DEFINITELY NO MORE SAMSUNG PRODUCTS IN MY HOME!
CONSTANT problems with ice machine - makes God awful sounds, loud humming noises multiple times a day. We bought 5-year maintenance plan - Huge waste of money, they refuse to come & check it out. Just got off the phone with them again - want us to let them hear noise over phone. Of course noise quits while we wait for someone to answer call. The microwave after less than year sounds like jet engine as it heats up! Dishwasher is substandard - dishwasher dispenser will not close anymore and does not clean dishes thoroughly. If considering appliances - NEVER BUY SAMSUNG. YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! Tried multiple times to add photo of our receipt but it would not work. Invoice ** from hhgregg.
Purchased a new Samsung refrigerator about 2 years ago and now the glass shelf that holds the crisper drawers is broken on the corner and the rail that the crisper drawer runs on is broken where the screw hole is broken where a worker had screwed it in too tight. The rubber gaskets are coming apart as well....This refrigerator cost was over $2000.00. Called customer service and they said TOO BAD out of warranty ....Model # RF267AEBP. Someone needs to get a class action lawsuit going on this and let all of us know...
We have a Samsung refrigerator that the inside back of the refrigerator freezes and doesnt cool. I called Samsung and they couldnt even find the serial number even though the lady tried six different times. I researched online and there is other models doing the same thing. I was taught that you get what you pay for but not in this case. I am very dissatisfied with this product.
This is follow-up to reviews of 10/30/14 and 11/8/15: Five year warranty company insisted on repair again. This last repair was a total different fix from previous two fixes which were the same. This time the fix lasted about 4 1/2 months. On Friday last week I emptied approx one cup of water out of each veggie bin. Since the last fix the unit has been making more strange noises than ever before. Some of the noises are like a .22 cal. shot and loud enough to wake me up at night. I contacted the extended warranty company, report the problem again and again they insisted on repair. I told them NO MORE REPAIRS!!! I want it out of my home. They promised to have a manager call me on Monday or Tuesday 3/28 - 3/29/16. If they will not honor the terms of the agreement and refund my money, I will have no choice but to junk the Samsung unit and purchase another brand at my own expense!!!
I will NEVER purchase any Samsung products ever again. I will also let everyone I know to never purchase Samsung products. I purchased a Samsung refrigerator one year and almost a month ago. The refrigerator has completely stopped working because Samsung put a faulty part in the fridge. They will not do anything to help me or fix this problem because the warranty is one year and it has been 22 DAYS past the warranty. Samsung has told me I will have to pay $160 just to look at the refrigerator + parts which they would not disclaim to me an estimate of how much the part could cost. I had a technician (not from Samsung) come out and look at the fridge prior to calling Samsung and they saw that Samsung had put in a cord that was supposed to have 3 prongs but was broken and only had 2 prongs. They informed me that they could replace the part which would be at least $250 dollars. However that still will not guarantee if the refrigerator will still work because the faulty part might of completely damaged the fridge for good. The technician informed me that I was lucky because the refrigerator could have completely blown up due to the faulty part. I called Samsung after I had learned what the issue was and they would not do anything about it unless I paid for them to fix the fridge and they did not guarantee that even after paying that if the fridge still does not work that they would do anything about it. They basically told me that I would have to keep paying more money to get it fixed because the warranty was up 22 days ago and it is now no longer their fault. What company puts a BROKEN part into an expensive and large purchase putting a household family in danger and then doesnt own up to it nor replace the part?! This is the worst customer service I have ever received my whole life and I am 55 years old and have owned many homes and many appliances in my lifetime. Samsung makes faulty products that are a danger to the consumer and then charges the consumer ridiculous amounts of money to fix it. What a greedy, dishonest, unreliable and manipulative company. Do NOT buy a refrigerator from them!!!!
I’ve been wanting a range with a convection oven for a long time. I finally bought a handsome Samsung glass-top range with a convection oven at Home Depot. The oven is ok...but not anything special. It’s the cooktop that drives me crazy. Put the dial all the way low on the front left burner, and it will burn anything you put on it. Put the dial to low on any of the other four burners, and your food will remain cold. I called the Samsung Customer Service and finally got to a “range specialist.” He told me my utensils were to blame and then hung up on me. Don’t buy a Samsung range unless you’re a masochist..
I recently purchased a 22.2 cubic foot Family Hub 2.0 refrigerator. All I can say is that this is one of, if not THE best Ive ever purchased. Its very handy to be at the store and be able to look inside my fridge to see what I need. I cant imagine having any other type of appliance, and will use Samsung for all of my appliances.
My husband and I purchased a Samsung refrigerator in August of 2015; it was not the most expensive refrigerator but it was far from the cheapest. About a month after the refrigerator was installed, we started hearing this really loud noise while the refrigerator was running, as if the refrigerator was a jet about to take off. The noise gradually got louder over time, so every time the refrigerator started running, we would hear this loud noise. The noise was so loud that we could not hear our television in the other room. I contacted Samsung about the concern and they sent out a technician who claimed the noise was normal for all Samsung refrigerators. After the technician left, I called Samsung to speak with a manager and the manager advised me to record the noise and call back; I did just this the same week. The representative at Samsung that listened to the recording of my refrigerator stated that the noise is not normal and that the compressor is going out and needs to be replaced along with a hose. I was told that day that these items were being ordered (this was approximately 2 months ago now). I have called several times to find out what is going on with the parts because no one has come by to install them. Samsung transfers me from person to person and department to department; the only answer I get is there is a ticket for the parts. No one can tell me what is going on and no one offers any assistance. Samsung appliances are by far the worst! Do not purchase Samsung appliances!!! We have a refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, microwave, washer and dryer all from Samsung and the only appliance that works properly is the oven!!! I will never again purchase anything from Samsung and I advise all others to run the other way! Their appliances are horrible and their customer service is even worse! They do not stand behind their warranty and will transfer you around until you either give up or they can claim its out of warranty so they no longer have to help.
We have had our refrigerator for only a couple of years. First the ice maker broke. Then it started making this loud noise that would stop when we opened the door. We had a technician come out and fix these problems. This was only a few months ago. Recently, I had noticed our milk didnt seem that cold even though the temp read 38 degrees. The problem started getting worse so we reset the fridge by unplugging it. This made the temp gauge work again and the true temperature was 66 degrees! After having already spent over $300 to repair this new refrigerator, I am reluctant to spend more to get this new problem fixed, especially after reading these complaints.
