My sister and I both bought this refrigerator for our new construction home
My sister and I both bought this refrigerator for our new construction home in December 2015. Luckily hers hasnt done this. But 16 months later mine started making this loud noise coming from the upper back part of fridge. Its so loud. I Googled and found numerous people are having same problem. Ive tried the blow dryer. Didnt work. Tried defrosting only to return 1 week later. I sure dont want to start taking apart, nor should I have to. This fridge is heavy. Our washers were both recalled, in which only partial cost reimbursed. Now I am frustrated because feel no one should have issues with any product, especially after only 16 months. What am I suppose to do now. I thought Samsung would be a super brand. Now I hate it. What is being done about this company selling crap products. Ill go American from now on.

There is a sensor to defrost the fridge and send the water created down a drain for evaporation. This sensor fails to work causing water to pool inside either under the crisper drawers or the cool select pantry. If the water is not noticed, it will ultimately flow from the unit onto the floor. Sometimes this sensor will also cause freezing of the fan that keeps air circulating in the refrigerator. Personally, I had this problem repaired on 4/3/12 and today, 10/29/12, I have called Samsung to report that it is happening again. Their customer service stated that the repair is not covered, is out of warranty and they will not pay to replace/repair. I decided to do a little research via the web and after typing in various forms of the following question: water leaks in bottom of fridge, water under food drawer, water leaking from fridge, etc, I have come across over 2,000 inquiries to this question just from the Samsung website. When I visited other sites, i.e. AppliancePartsPros.com and ConsumerAffairs.com, I saw another 500 plus complaints. So how do we get Samsung to admit this is a defective part and correct the problem for all of us? I slipped on my tile floor because of the water and now have my ankle in a brace. Other folks have complained about flooring becoming damaged, food loss, all sorts of problems because of this defect. I cant afford to keep calling a serviceman out for the same problem and probably lots of others feel the same. Thank you for looking into this matter.

We purchased our stainless steel Samsung refrigerator in Feb of 2013 (side by side with freezer on bottom) and made the mistake of opting out of the extended warranty. Big mistake! This product is pure junk! The icemaker continually freezes up and I have had two service calls and still the same problem. I have to unclog the ice personally to get the icemaker to work again. Now there are other issues the repairman said would cost $500 to fix. I have called Samsung at least six times to no avail. If you want a good, reliable refrigerator, stay away from Samsung!!! Not only are they junk, their people are not at all sympathetic. They have my money and Im on my own now. Im very angry at this company that rips people off like this.

I purchased the following Samsung appliances: Refrigerator, washer, dryer and Microwave. I must tell you they all suck. I will never purchase another Samsung appliance or anything else they manufacture. They know there were problems and have done nothing. There should have been a recall, but overall they will lose business to those of us who will never purchase them again. Samsung Sucks.

RF217ACPN - I have owned this refrigerator for about two years. After a year and a half, I started having ice build up in crisper drawers. Researched problem online and found YouTube video describing the problem and fix. Removed shelves, etc., and panel covering defroster coil. I found the coil covered in ice and the drain clogged shut with ice. Followed video by replacing defroster thermistor sensor and using hot water to de-ice drain. I have now gone through the hot water treatment three times, also relocated (slightly) the sensor, but problem keeps reappearing on a less than two-week cycle. I own two of Samsung TVs and a computer monitor manufactured by them. I love them and have no complaints, but the refrigerator design really sucks along with their support. Will never buy a refrigerator from them again. LG??? Same boat??? Korean made.

I purchased our Samsung French Door Refrigerator from Lowe’s under 2 year
I purchased our Samsung French Door Refrigerator from Lowe’s under 2 years ago. Approximately 6 months ago I noticed what looked like possible spaghetti sauce splatter on the front of the fridge and when I went to wipe it off realized it was rust. At the time the refrigerator was approximately 1.4 years old, had been kept inside the entire time and we cleaned as instructed by the Lowe’s employee when it was purchased. We did not purchase the extended warranty but I called the Samsung Helpline thinking they might offer to replace the doors as rusting doors seems like a clear manufacturers defect in my opinion. I was told that this fell under cosmetic issues and therefore there was nothing they could do for us except offer to send a technician to look at it. So, I still have a rusting fridge in my kitchen. Then 3 weeks ago I came down to our kitchen to leave for work to find our kitchen floor absolutely flooded. The ice maker valve had apparently broken causing our water supply to kick water out of the fridge into the kitchen while we slept. The first technician (suggested by Samsung Helpline) could not identify the problem but said he would replace the inlet valve, ice maker and mother board for approximately $450.00. Not to mention we had to pay him $45 simply to come inspect the refrigerator. We chose not to have him touch the fridge since his shotgun approach to the problem did not make sense to us but were out the $45.00. The second technician identified the valve as the problem and between part/labor we paid about $240.00. So far no more floods and the ice maker is still working. We purchased this refrigerator because of its nice appearance and based on our understanding of Samsung’s reputation which I thought would translate to a reliable product - a decision I clearly regret. Im clearly disappointed in Samsung as I had faith their product would be more reliable and/or their service more professional. Im also disappointed in myself because the refrigerator I purchased 15 years from a different company and havent had to put a cent into is purring right along in my garage and regret not showing more loyalty to that company.

19 days without a fridge is not acceptable. Over 13 phone calls to Samsung and being hung up on 4 different times only to have to call back to get resolution, that I have not gotten. I am now told it will be another 3-5 business days before I will be contacted to receive a replacement fridge. 24-29 days and no fridge is completely unacceptable. Someone has dropped the ball and no one wants to take ownership. They only want to say they are sorry. I asked if their CEOs fridge went out if he would have waited this long to have his/her fridge replaced. I bet the answer to this is absolutely not. They probably would have had it replaced within the week.I now am resorted to living out of a cooler with ice so my kids can have milk and cheese, and eating out because it is so wasteful to buy a meal to prep only to have the items spoil because there is no freezer to put my stuff in or a large fridge to put these daily staples in. Who wants to pay for my spoiled food? Not Samsung. Who wants to reimburse me for the need to eat out? Not Samsung. Who wants to replace my fridge in a timely manner? Not Samsung. Who wants to pay for my gas to have drive into town daily to get food? Not Samsung. Who is going to pay for all my wasted hours spent dealing with this debacle? Not Samsung! What recourse of action do I have aside of contacting BBB and filing a complaint? Help!

We bought a Samsung refrigerator from Lowes when we moved in March this year. Three weeks ago, the freezer compartment broke down. Samsung’s customer service said that they would send someone to repair it. Two days later, the maintenance staff came to check and said the parts were defective. It took another week or so to fix it. However, the whole refrigerator stopped working the next day, which was last Friday. Everything we bought went bad! The worst thing was to call Samsungs customer service. I waited online for three hours and finally got connected. They told me that they will call me back within 24 hours. Yesterday was Tuesday, there was still no calling back. Finally, I called them again, and was told the calling back time was 72 hours now! It is Wednesday today, and the person in charge has not been contacted yet. There are elderly and children in my house, and our daily meal becomes a difficult, especially in this COVID-19 pandemic. We cant eat out a lot. We have to go to groceries every single day to buy the food for that day! We are taking a great risk! In general, Samsungs refrigerator had a quality issue- it stopped working in only four months, and the after-sales service was even worse! Its really disappointing! I will try my best to aware more people!

The home I bought came with a french door Samsung fridge model number RF263AEBP. About 3 days after moving in the fridge stopped cooling. Luckily our home came with a home warranty so we filed a claim. There is a known defect with this model Samsung fridge and Samsung is doing nothing to resolve the issue. A family in NJ had to file a class action lawsuit to try getting help from Samsung. The fridge stops cooling and water forms under the fridge. Ice covers the coils therefore the fan stops working. The fridge then goes into defrost mode. This has been an absolute headache for us.We have forked out money on short term repairs and have lost money spent on food that has gone bad. This fridge is easily worth $3000.00. Samsung should be ashamed! I feel there should be a recall on their faulty product. I WILL NEVER buy another Samsung product after seeing how Samsung treats their customers. Im now trying to decide if we should put more money into this fridge or go out and buy a new one. Steer clear of Samsung!!!

3 of 4 Samsung appliances have now died in 5 yrs. Today SMH9187 microwave door latch broke after giving Error 13 the other day. Reading other reviews Im now afraid it will turn on by itself and burn my house down! Worse, Samsung dishwasher broke in 18 months and not only leaked on my hardwood floors but got so hot I needed a potholder to turn off after 5 hrs and it wouldnt stop. Lowes at least stepped in, said these were so bad I got a new Bosch Ive loved now for 3 yrs. Samsung counter depth refrigerator also had icemaker die in under 2 yrs. Lowes replaced it due to extended warranty but now 3 yrs later I tried again with warranty expired. Also had 2 Samsung LCD TVs die in 2 yrs, with both a Blu-ray player and separate DVD go belly up in that time too. Stupid name for ever buying anything from them after 2nd item. Needless to say I will NEVER EVER AGAIN BUY ANYTHING FROM SAMSUNG! Unbelievably bad quality and worse, truly dangerous!! Stay away, hope they go out of business soon.

I bought a French Door Samsung fridge on 01/07/2017. It was not delivered until 02/04/2017. On 02/10/2018 I called Samsung because the ice maker was leaking and freezing up. They opened a service ticket and told me a service tech would be contacting me. On 02/15 I had not heard from the tech so I called Samsung back they gave me the service centers direct number to call them. I called them today and found out they are going to charge me extra to drive from Provo Ut to Logan Ut. I canceled the service call and I will support the techs in my own area. Samsung said they would not cover it under warranty. There is currently a class action lawsuit that is being looked at for the faulty ice makers because Samsung knows they are faulty and have not fixed the problem.

I purchased a new Samsung refrigerator for my wife for her birthday. Without pulling out the paperwork I think it was in November of 2008. Purchased at Lowes. Had a repairman come out to fix it twice within the first year. It was icing up and sounded like a food processor inside due to ice build up around the fan. The coils were solid ice and the drain was frozen. There was water underneath the platter drawer and so much it would leak out and across the floor. Well seven years later Im still going through the same things. As I write this at 1:48 in the morning I cant sleep due to the noise the fan is making due to ice buildup. This is ** for what I paid. Ive found out about a class action lawsuit against Samsung but cant find any info on how to join. I cant afford a new fridge right now so Im stuck until the lawsuit is settled I guess.

I bought new Samsung appliances one and a half years ago. They are now out of their one year warranty. My refrigerator started making a loud noise about three weeks ago. I could not get a repair until three weeks later. $239.00 dollar repair because the unit froze up. Samsung would not do anything about it. I expect to service my car after it is that old but not my refrigerator. And there is no guarantee that it wont do it again. Also our new Samsung washer already has a broken piece on it. Poor design. I stand behind my work when I build someone a kitchen and I think Samsung should do the same. I would not recommend their products to any of my clients or anyone for that matter. Why is it you always have these problems with larger corporations?

We purchased a Samsung French door refrigerator in 2012 for a kitchen renovation at a cost of approximately $2200.00. My husband found a puddle of water one morning and after resetting the computer several times, the freezer was starting to melt items and the fridge section was 65 degrees. Everything was thrown away and a repairman was called. Two local repairman refused to work on a Samsung product. I had to call a Samsung certified repairman. While cleaning out the freezer I found this little light looking item with wires coming out of each side, it was no bigger than my little finger. When the certified technician got there, I immediately showed him the part that I found in the freezer drawer. He said, I cant fix this refrigerator. The part that fell off was from the top of the freezer ceiling inside the pull out drawer and it was dislodged from the wiring harness that was UP inside the fridge and there was no way to fix it. I asked how much I owed him and he said $75.00. I paid it but 75.00 for less than a 5 minute visit was terrible. Anyway, he left his card and I told him I didnt need it, because I would NEVER have another Samsung appliance. This is a design flaw with Samsung that they could easily fix and unfortunately its on all Samsung refrigerators. We asked our local repairman what he would recommend and he said GE, LG or Whirlpool. We looked at Lowes and all Samsung products had the little item on the top of the freezer ceiling so that if something bumps it, the fridge cannot be fixed. Our Whirlpool has the same item on the back wall of the freezer so that NOTHING can bump it. Losing a 2200.00 6 year old fridge is terrible... customer service was terrible and knowing the problem with the fridge and not fixing it tells me that Samsung is only interested in making money on the sales and ensuring that their refrigerators dont last. Poor design... poor appliances. Samsung stick to phones please.

We purchased our Samsung RFG297AAWP French door refrigerator in June of 200
We purchased our Samsung RFG297AAWP French door refrigerator in June of 2009. When it was delivered and hooked up the freezer did not work. Three days later a new box was delivered and hooked up. About 2 years later the ice maker quit working and we discovered ice build up under the large deli drawer. We gave up on the ice maker because we knew that was a problem with a lot of refrigerators and started making ice in. We had a plumber come out and put a cutoff in the line to stop the water. He used a piercing type of cut off which did not work so still had water. Last week the freezer quit and we lost all the food. We had a repairman come out (Samsung recommended). He was quite good and only charged $40.00 but the bad news is that there are several computer boards on the back and after some research he found that other repair people had gone through the board changing and the freezer still did not work. We would have been out that expense and still no freezer. He would have changed out the boards for us but we still would have had the water problem in the fridge. It was 6 years old, and it was his belief that we had a blockage in the refrigerant in the freezer evaporator. The compressor was working fine for the evaporator for the refrigerator. Our last refrigerator was 10 years old, 6 years ago, and it is still going strong in my sisters basement where they use it to freeze their garden produce. I ordered a new refrigerator yesterday, not a Samsung and truly would not recommend Samsung refrigerators to anyone. I really cant believe that they are a refrigerator that is pushed by Best Buy, Lowes, Home Depot, etc.

My extended family has 3 Samsung fridges - 2x RL67 and one RL62. After approximately 16 months, two of them developed noise. The noise stopped each time the fridge door was opened. The problem was with the coil in the cooler - it had iced over. I called a technician for our fridge (RL62), and he repaired the problem. He offered me insurance for three years at a cost of $360. I refused, then he offered me insurance for one year for $200 (the cost of the repair). After Googling the type of fridge problem, I discovered that there is a serious problem with Samsung fridges. It appears that there is every chance that the problem in my fridge will return in several months!

I bought a Samsung RF266 for ~$1,500. Within 2 years, the sensor broke and iced up and caused the fan to make noise. It was repaired, but of course, not covered under the manufacturers 5-year warranty. The repair guy told me its quite common that the sensor has issues. Having known this, I would not have purchased a Samsung fridge. It cost me about 20% of the original cost to have this fixed. As a reasonable person, I would expect issues such as this to be covered under the warranty. The warranty states, Samsung will repair or replace any part found to be defective. It also states, This limited warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. I think any reasonable person would expect a sensor to work for the full 5 years. And if not, that it should be covered under the above warranty statement. I called Samsung and the lady Ashley basically told me I should have gotten an extended warranty and it was not their issue that the sensor breaks frequently. Theres customer service for you. So I would definitely not buy any of their products going forward as well. Samsung, you guys are pretty dumb and have lost out way more than you would have if you just covered things like this under warranty.

Originally posted earlier this month. Followed Samsungs advice and defrosted refrigerator for 36 hours, with fan blowing on it. Checked to make sure all ice buildup had cleared. Turned on, ran fine, icemaker even working again. Now several days later, ice maker is stopping and probably means another complete defrost. Terrible, 5 years old $2000+ refrigerator and nothing but problems.Updated on 06/16/2018: I have contacted Samsung and searched the web. My 5 yr old refrigerator keeps freezing up and the fan starts making a loud noise. Only resolution Samsung has offered is to defrost the refrigerator. Really, its a self defrosting, yet now we have to unload and let it thaw out 2-3 times a year. This problem with their refrigerators is noted by numerous people on the internet, yet Samsung offers no remedy and it appears this problem occurs with many of their refrigerators going back several years. Lowes replaced unit!! 2 months of running the 2nd one started to make a loud vibration!! Repairman came out to see, said it was loose in casing! While looking at that he opened lite part and it was broken, the light fixture itself! The pins that hold lite up was broken! Wait for Buy Back on that! He also came to look at dishwasher cause it was make a loud noise, also which it didnt do it in past! Repairman said the Motor is going out!! So it is on order!Stove on other hand, the back leg that holds unit leveled was bent and could not be fixed, got it replaced! On 2nd stove the front window has water leak condensation from cooking and there is no way to clean it!! On all the appliances I was told they were top of the line! Stainless steel, in which I cannot keep clean, there is like streaks on all of them and no matter what I use, very good cleaner still cant remove stains from them! The repairman told me the SS is very cheap kind of SS, and that is why there are stain on them! All of this has happened from April 15th 2013 till now! And Samsung warranty is one yr, in which they want me to buy new warranty!! Even though I have had 3 of them replaced, it still goes back the date of purchase! Im currently building up my report to have Samsung buy back all of them!!! Im so very upset about this!! In which they are giving me a run around trying to do this!! My time is running out for warranty! And Im so scared they will not last for much longer!! I need help from an outside source. Please anyone out there! Im disabled cause of a semi crash I was in, and the money I used is all I have left from this upgrade! Thanks for read my report.

I bought this 1 1/2 years ago and after owning it for six months, we had to have the electric panel replaced due to the water filter light not resetting. We replaced the water filter, and we could not get the light to reset and go off. Here we are, a year later, and the refrigerator freezer has quit running. The door is reading OF. When I called Samsung, the representative told me it was in store demo mode. How it would have gotten there, I have no idea. It is just my husband and me in the house! She told me to hit a couple of buttons at the same time to reset it. Well, guess what? That didnt work. She then told me that a service man would give me a call within 24 to 48 hours to schedule an appointment. I talked to her on Friday afternoon and it is now almost 10:00 am on Monday morning, and I am still waiting for that call. I thought by spending over $2k on a refrigerator, it would last more than 1 1/2 years. What a big disappointment!

We had the absolute worst experience with Samsung. We called because our freezer was 2.5 years old and both ice makers broken in addition to the freezer. Our freezer wasnt staying at the correct temperature. I called to see what, if anything they can do. They advised me that there is no warranty. I requested the information for an authorized Samsung repairer (they did not offer). I was told that I would need to call and set up the appointment since I was no longer under warranty. I expressed how disappointed I was that our refrigerator was broken and was under 3 years old. He continued to reminded me there is no warranty so that was the end of that. I then called the number provided by the Samsung representative and did not speak with anyone. I chatted with a representative over the internet and explained that I could not get in contact with them and explained that I am loyal customer of Samsung for over 10 years and am in need of assistance. He could not do anything other than tell me that my warranty has expired and that I should call the number provided. I called a total of 4 times and left 2 voice messages. I then contacted via chat to beg for help and he then provided a number to Samsung Emergency Help. However at this exact time my husband was at the house with an unauthorized repair company because we have now been 4 days without a refrigerator and have a house of 6 to provide for. The emergency repair representative said that they cannot help because an unauthorized has touched our appliance. The unauthorized repair man confirmed we had a freon leak which was the reason our temperature was not right in both the refrigerator and freezer compartments in addition to having broken ice makers. The Freon had a 5 year warranty and when a supervisor called me back she said I should have looked at the manual and that that was my responsibility. I reminded her that I told the rep I spoke with everything and I am not too savvy when it comes to diagnosing issues with my refrigerator so I did not know it was the freon, I clearly communicated that the freezer and refrigerator temps where not right and the original rep I communicated that too agreed but still told me I have no warranty so I believed I had no warranty.I was repeatedly blamed for not arguing with the rep about the freon and warranty issue. They blamed me for getting a unauthorized repair man, They said I should have kept calling them when I got no response from their authorized repair facility. The chat rep disconnected/hung up on me (still had questions), when I asked to speak with the supervisor - she stated, You actually spoke with my supervisor already, and went on to explain that her supervisor passed it to her to handle when I requested a supervisor and that I could not speak to anyone else. The supervisor blamed me for not setting an appointment up through them (even after I told her I was clearly told that I have to do it). I did not raise my voice nor did I at anytime use vulgarities or insult anyone that I spoke with.I reminded them that I was a loyal customer with over 14 Samsung products that includes appliances, phones, media equipment, and tables and it meant nothing. I suggested they at least give me a coupon to purchase something else and all was denied. I cannot and will not patronize a company that has such bad service. I talked to Samsung 3 times by phone when I called, 2 time when a supervisor called me, and 2 times by chat and I did not have an acceptable experience. I feel as if the product was defective if everything broke within a week of each other and it was only 2.5 years old. Terrible Service, no I am purchasing a new refrigerator and will not consider a Samsung product again.

Heres the conclusion to my review. The repair tech came to my home today and saw the blinking light on the Samsung refrigerator. He said hed have to look this up online. His response: “Your freezer fan is blocked by ice. It will cost $240.00.” The $110.00 service fee would be waived if I wanted him to remove the ice, but if the sensor was broken, thats $80. And if the fan was also broken, another $80. The warranty for the work was only 90 days. So, I gave him his $110 for wasting my time and sent him on his way, then proceeded to take apart my freezer (unscrewed everything). Once the back panel was removed, it was covered in so much ice I boiled water to melt it and knocked it away from the wires. I checked to make sure my plugs were fitted properly. I took out the fan - it looked fine. 2 hours later, it’s working again; no flashing lights, the freezer and fridge were cold again and all I needed was a Phillips screwdriver. I would recommend trying this first if you have a couple of hours. It will save you time and money.

Same issue as William. Purchased the RFG298HDRS refrigerator with bottom freezer drawer less than one year ago. Recently, noticed the inside of the freezer and all contents were covered with furry frost. Thought door was left open on accident. Noticed instead that the weatherstripping seal was no longer touching the refrigerator when drawer was closed. Took all contents from freezer. Drawer would still not close all the way. Turns out like William above, 1.5 inches thick-1 inch thick solid sheet of ice covering inside of drawer housing- floor of the freezer housing. Took upper freezer drawer out and was able to remove solid sheet of ice in two pieces from bottom of freezer. Now drawer closes fine. This is really an unfortunate situation. I think the water that leaked before we noticed the problem, has ruined the floor. (The flooring wasnt my choice, it was here when we bought the place. Not ideal for a kitchen but what can you do?) At any rate, drawer now easily opens and closes. I will watch for it to become more difficult as time goes on and will add emptying freezer and chipping off sheets of ice to my growing list of things I have to do to accommodate other peoples stupid design flaws.

I have had this dishwasher running now for a month. From the first load it has not washed my dishes properly. I always have food particles left on my dishes. I had a service tech come out and state, that is how Samsung dishwashers perform. You have to wash your dishes in order for it to wash the dishes. When I called Samsung to complain and verify what the tech stated, they initially told me that no pre-rinsing or pre-washing was required. But 5 minutes into the conversation, they tell me that the tech is correct, dishes must be pre-washed and pre-rinsed.The service tech had also told me that the Samsung dishwashers are notorious for leaking. He has to replace hoses and units all the time because the plastic tubing gets pin hole leaks from wear and tear off the hot water coming in and out of it. Buyer be aware! Now I go back to Home Depot and they will not return or exchange the product because it has been more than 48 hours since we have had it (but less than 90 days from purchase, and less than 30 from installation - and installation was paid for separately when we were ready to install as we were going through a kitchen renovation and needed more time for the cabinets to be completed). Reading on these Consumer Affair complaints, it looks like its time for a class action lawsuit.

Aside from plastic being left under all seals when delivered and being very noisy, the bottom of the freezer has to be defrosted every few weeks when a sheet of ice builds up under the drawers. After a few weeks water slides down the ice floe and leaks onto the floor. We have tile and when its wet it becomes very slippery. Weve complained but finally gave up but this morning my husband slipped on the wet tile. This is a design flaw or defect but it is out of warranty. My bad but thought I should add to the complaints on this site. We have been very satisfied with phones, TVs and such but will never buy another Samsung anything unless this problem is remedied.

This dishwasher is an expensive piece of garbage. I bought it this higher end one thinking it would last a long time. Silly me. Its barely 4 yrs old and is of course out of warranty (a generous 1 yr!) and has an electronic issue causing it to empty and shut down. No one works on Samsung appliances. Sooo, you have to contact them. My understanding is parts are expensive and not easy to obtain. Who would expect a basically new dishwasher was well cared for to break? Ive got a $20 Mr. Coffee maker thats older than this $650.00 dishwasher that still works. Never. Again.

I bought my 3 door Samsung Refrigerator in 2015 and it worked fine for 2 years. After that, Ive had nothing but problems. First, it wasnt cooling my food and I lost all of my food and had to pay a $200 repair bill. Then, 2 months later, that same thing happened! Luckily, they honored the initial repair warranty and the tech came out and fixed it again. Fast forward to 5 months later and now the refrigerator is freezing all of my food. Because the fridge is out of warranty, I will have to pay for a tech to come out and will be charged parts and labor to fix the problem. I have now lost 3 full refrigerator loads of food and am left to resolve the issue on my own. I have a 20 year-old Kenmore fridge in my garage that works perfectly and my $2000 Kenmore fridge is a POS. NEVER BUY SAMSUNG APPLIANCES!

I built a new house a little over two years ago. Between the kitchen and laundry appliances, I spent around $6500. Before the one-year warranty was up, the ice maker in the fridge crapped out. I had to get Best Buy to replace the unit as the Samsung repair people didnt want to travel out to where Im located (only about 35 miles). Then after the warranties expired, the washer has an issue - not too bad - a wire fell off the motor. Cost me $159. Now the dishwasher pump burn up - $440 to fix this. Repair guy told me that the pods I have been using, the plastic shell pieces apparently do not melt and pieces collect in a screen that the water goes through that cools the pump. The screen is apparently fine than most units. Sound like a design flaw. After buying all these appliances and having three issues already, one would think the manufacturer would stand behind their products. Nope, no help at all. No more Samsung products for me.

Just reached the 6th year of owning our Samsung Side by Side Refrigerator RM257ABSH which we paid nearly $3000. A&E (Sears) is the only repair option... I called every repair place and also asked for referrals to repair people they knew. The A&E repairman that found the leak in our coil was very knowledgeable, but the coil I paid for never came in. The appointment date came and went with no phone call. I called A&E, three or four times before I found out that their parts source no longer carries the coil and they had move my appoint from the 6th to the 20th of February. I called Samsung, since my fridge at this point has been down for 4 weeks and was given Customer Relations... after four business days of going back and forth between A&E and Samsung, I was told that the coil is no longer available and they would have to buy back my fridge. The A&E repairman during the service call told me coils are the most common problem with refrigerators... which means that when you buy an expensive refrigerator from Samsung, you cant count on them keeping parts past the 5 year warranty. The Customer Relations person told me it was past its 5 year warranty point that they carry parts. They offered me a buy back that is reduced by 10% per year. I could have fixed the fridge for $495, instead I trash a $3000 unit for a few hundred dollars... What a deal!!!!!The total repair cost by A&E was $495.00. I paid $185.00 down for parts and the service call. Now I am out of $1500-2500 for a new fridge and Samsung may give me a small buy back amount! My advice... Never, Never, Never buy a Samsung refrigerator because they may not carry your parts after the warranty. Their fix is to give you a few hundred bucks and send you on your way to your next purchase... which in my case will never be a Samsung!!!

I purchased a Samsung Dishwasher from Best Buy, when I had the unit installed I discovered that the kick plate was missing. I called Samsung and requested that they send me the missing part. They took all of the information and gave me instruction on how to send the receipt which I did. After a few days a representative called saying they needed more information. I asked what information they needed and they said they needed the Serial Number and Model Number. When I explained that I already gave them this information the representative put me on a long hold and came back and said not to worry they had everything they needed and that my missing part would be shipped in 7-10 days. Several days later I received an email from Samsung asking for me to upload my receipt to them (which I had already done a few weeks ago). I resent the receipt and then a few days later received another call saying that since the item was purchased as an open box item that they would not provide me with the missing part. Bottom line is that the customer service is very disorganized and inefficient. When I ask them to consider supporting their product and to make an exception to provide me with the part that was missing when delivered to me they refused. I bought the dishwasher for almost $500, embarrassed that I paid that much for such a piece of junk now and thinking I had paid that much did not purchase the extended warranty. My last dishwasher was almost 20 years old when I replaced it and I was thinking I had replaced it with a much higher end model. I did not buy a Bosch or some fancy machine, nor did I buy a cheap model, just something would get the job done for a longtime. At a little less than two years, I start getting low water warnings and it shuts off and wont complete its cycle, this gets worse and worse until I cant get it to run at all. I call Samsung and they tell me it is out of warranty and for $180 they can send someone out to look at the machine but it could cost parts as well. I got it fixed by my usual guy for much less and it worked form last Oct 2013 until this February 2014 and the same low water warning is going off and the machine once again shuts off multiple times before it runs and sometimes it take a day before it will run. This is definitely a defect in design that Samsung will not acknowledge. Do not buy a Samsung dishwasher. They do no customer service, nor do they acknowledge design defects. Their warranty repair people are limited and charge an outrageous amount, because they are the only game in town just to check out your machine and do not guaranty it will be covered and they are rude and arrogant as they know they are the only ones who cover your area. Just saying will never buy another Samsung appliance nor will I go to best buy as they are the ones who sold it to me, neither stand by their products.

Purchase a Samsung Dishwasher DMT300RFS about 2 years ago. It worked fine for 1 year. We started having issues with it cleaning the dishes and glassware. We tried different detergents and cleaning products with no success. Then it stopped working altogether. The instrument panel codes said that it was a drain pump problem so I replaced the drain pump. It would not start and displayed a new code leak sensor. I took the dishwasher apart again, but did not see any water. I made sure that the sensor was dry and put the machine back together. We purchased this dishwasher at Lowes in July 2012. Earlier this year it stopped running and gave an 5E code. We looked it up in our manual and it said drain error. We checked everything and could not clear the code. We tried the cancel & drain to no avail. We ended up pulling everything out and scooping all the water out. We had a plumber come over and he checked all the drains/hoses etc. and found nothing. He then called Samsung and told them he thought it was the electrical panel and they would not tell him anything since he was not an authorize Samsung repair person. Unfortunately around this time my mom went into hospice care so hand washing dishes was going to have to suffice. My mother passed away in the summer. By late August I started contacting Samsung to get an authorized service person to come out. What a nightmare. I had to call a couple of times to get someone on the phone who would even help me. They will not give you the local persons number. I was finally given a ticket number and a phone number to call for Service Quick. This was a long distance call for me. They then said they would have a local person call with a quote and set up an appointment. So finally 6 days later I got a voice message. I returned the call now at least 4 times (another long distance number) which nobody answers the phone. It does not say the company name or anything, just a standard automated at the beep please leave a message. In the meantime I went in the phone book and called a local appliance repair person. They took the whole thing apart and told me it looked like the pump was out and possibly the electrical panel and that it looked like the parts would be about $350. That is half of what this thing cost! They suggested I just buy a new dishwasher. That in their experience the Samsung are a lot of trouble and expensive to repair. They were very nice and only charged me for a short service call. I am very frustrated. Every time I talked to a Samsung person I was asked did you purchase the extended warranty?. That is ridiculous! A dishwasher should not need an extended warranty for something not even two years old! It is now September 9th and I Still have not spoken to anyone on the repair side! I dont have money lying around to just literally throw down the drain on new appliances. But I think that is what is going to happen. I will Never buy a Samsung appliance again!

Samsung has very poor customer service, you purchase the product expecting the product to last a while, however, after having it for only 4 months, there are problems. I am not happy with the after purchase customer care, they are not interested in resolving your issues. I was a big fan of Samsung simply because Ive always had numerous Samsung phones, after this issue, I cancelled my phone and purchased an iPhone. I purchased a French door refrigerator RSG309 that has a computerized display, which was my first mistake. I thought, because it was Samsung, it would be okay, I was sadly mistaken. After contacting the customer service center so many times and remaining on hold, being transferred numerous times, having to repeat myself over and over again like a broken record, I gave up. The display does not work, I have to unplug the refrigerator constantly to reboot it so the dispenser can operate properly. This is the worst customer service ever.I am frustrated, I will never purchase a Samsung product again. I definitely plan to seek legal advice because the product is practically new, I purchased an extended warranty and still cant get assistance.

Dont buy a Samsung Refrigerator!!! Our Samsung has been the worst of worst. Two months after we bought a $3000.00 one the whole electric panel went out. Everything thawed out. They kept playing games about paying for the lost food. They never did reimburse us. Ours broke down 4 times in 2 years. We also had to replace both of the ice makers. One of them 3 times because the water leaks underneath it and freezes the mechanism that turns the ice out. Then when you try to get ice from the dispenser it cracks the ice maker and it has to be replaced. The water also leaks down in the inside of the refrigerator and runs under the storage bins and then on the floor when you open up the fridge. After replacing it 3 times we just dont use it.Samsung does not stand behind their products. Even though our fridge was without doubt a lemon they never replaced it. They play constant games of lost paperwork and unbelievable stalls until you just give up and pay to have it fixed yourself. The problem is they can stall forever but you cant go without a fridge. My daughter bought the same model as ours and she has had a lot of the same problems. They never fixed hers either. Never will I buy a Samsung product again!!!

Samsung has a known problem with their twin cooling French door refrigerator, but refuses to help to make it right. Drain tubes on these units are undersized causing the ice maker to not work and water to leak out from under their freshness trap. Weve now had two floods in our kitchen and no ice. Our appliance repair service was well aware of these problems. Our unit is 4 years old and no longer in warranty. The repair cost will be $800 to fix.

We just bought (September 2019 ) a 23 cu ft Samsung Model RF23R6201. The freezer operates at 15 degrees Fahrenheit higher temperature than it should! It is supposed to be at minus 5 degrees Fahrenheit but it is actually at plus 10 degrees Fahrenheit (I have verified this with two Refrigerator Thermometers). A Samsung repairman came by a couple of days ago (after a one week delay!) and supposedly fixed the problem with a software update which did not improve the performance of the Refrigerator at all! Needless to say, the ice maker does not work either! Furthermore the Refrigerator (deceptively?) indicates an inaccurate value for the freezer temperature. STAY AWAY FROM SAMSUNG REFRIGERATORS! (I doubt I will ever buy any SAMSUNG product.)

Then will work for a few months. Samsung wont do nothing about it. They said they will a service tech call to set up appt but no one ever calls. Purchased this lovely Samsung Range model NE58F9710WS in March 2017. I absolutely loved it. Great for just two of us using the top part and then using the whole thing when family were visiting. Today we had the oven on and there was a loud bang and the glass on the top had cracked and shattered. I am shocked after paying $1,965.58 on a stove to only last almost 8 months is shocking and its a very scary experience. Has anyone else ever had this happen to them for this model number?

Thankfully I bought an extended warranty on my range because the 2nd time I used the self-cleaning mode ON THE DEFAULT SETTING, the control panel melted and the oven door would not open. It took weeks to get the replacement part with Sears Outlet calling and emailing scheduled appointment times that had not been cleared by me. But never mind the repair guy that is employed by Sears told me the part had not showed up on his doorstep yet. However, during 9 different calls over several hours during a 2 month time frame, Sears told me repair guy did not follow protocol so that caused delays. Of course when I told repair guy that he said they always try to pass blame. The 3 times repair guy came to my house he refused to give me any paperwork documenting his repair. He also told me never to use the self-clean mode. What? Why is it there? THEN the oven would not heat up to temperature, actually would only get to 100 degrees less, so the process started over again with repair guys BS and blaming Sears, all sorts of ridiculous information from both sides with promises NEVER being met. He finally installed a new thermometer and it still doesnt heat to temperature so I have to program it 25 degrees higher and wait 45 minutes longer than what the alert and temperature says on the control panel. In an argument with repair guy in my kitchen over my unreasonable expectation to have purchased a functioning product he accused me of only wanting to get a new oven. Imagine the gall of me actually expecting to have purchased a functioning product by a supposedly reliable name like Samsung. I am 71 years old and am old enough to know, from experience, what good customer service is. Repair guy is a grey hair and should know that too. But he is perfectly employed by a sub-standard company selling a very inferior product. And, although promised by his wife on one call, and his daughter on another, that I would get service orders and documentation emailed to me, it has never happened. What a waste of time and money, not to mention having to play stupid passive-aggressive games with a low in standards repair person. I am now afraid of fire after reading the rest of the reviews. Im surprised that Samsung hasnt been sued and ovens have not been recalled. I mean really surprised. My oven is barely 2 years old. In any other electrical stove/oven I have ever owned I have NEVER had a problem with self-clean.

About 5 years ago I purchased a Samsung RF217ACRS wide french door refrigerator. This unit has been nothing but trouble since about 1 day after the warranty ended. In the past 2.5 years I have spent about as much money on repairs as on the original purchase. The control panel continues to freeze up, ice blocks the drain, the panel has been replaced twice, several other parts have been replaced yet nothing appears to solve the problem of water all over the bottom of the unit. The vegetable bins always have water in the bottom. Each repair person that has been to the house has reiterated that they intensely dislike working on Samsung however their appliances keep them in business. I will never purchase a Samsung appliance again.

Now after calling them to get help they said they don’t have a repair person to help us. We purchased this dishwasher (DMT800 series) from Lowes and thought we were getting a good product. It did not take long to see we were wrong. This appliance has been nothing but trouble since it was installed (by professional, I might add, to keep warranty in effect). Besides not cleaning well, the heating element seems to never fully turn off - no explanation for that. I will say it is quiet when running, but that is about the only good thing I can say. Now, after approximately 17 months of use (one load daily on the most part), it now will come on and not proceed to go through the cycle to wash. Customer service people ask all kinds of questions that are better answered by service personnel and the extended warranty picks a company to provide service who will contact you in two to four business days! What kind of service is that? Pathetic product and undependable repair service - I will never buy another Samsung appliance again.

First off, I would like to say I never take the time to write out a review regarding a item. This just shows how unsatisfied I am with my purchase. I would definitely not recommend this product to anyone. Do not buy any SAMSUNG product. The customer service reps do not offer any customer service. They do not know how to treat customers even after the crap their company has released in the recent years. Lets not forget about the blowing up of the cell phones and laundry machines. My complaint is about their refrigerators and how I have spent over $600 trying to fix the ice dispenser. The ice dispenser freezes up and does not slide out. It seems like the fridge is leaking water and causing the entire tray to freeze. The ice cubes are not in proper ice cube form. The ice cubes look like slushy. I complained to the customer service rep and their answer regarding my complaint was Sorry your item has passed the 1 year warranty for parts. I told the rep there are over 2000 complaints about this ice dispenser on the internet. I previously owned a GE profile refrigerator for over 17 years and never had one issue with it! The customer rep told me they do not go by the complaints on the internet for their products. I asked if they had any other solution and the rep told me once again Sorry the product has passed the one year warranty for the replacement items. If the company cannot offer a solution for their defective products, I will not ever in my life purchase a Samsung product. I will make sure I make this clear to all of my family members and friends. I have had this refrigerator for only a little over 2 years. Samsung teach your service reps how to resolve issues and test your products before releasing them. You shouldnt be telling your customers to fix a problem and have them pay $300 to get it fixed. Even your crappy service reps dont have a solution for your defective products. I am a very unsatisfied customer. I will have to go buy a new refrigerator since this issue is not being resolved.

Bought from HHgregg a Samsung stainless package 08/01/13. Delivered and installed it 09/07/13. Everything worked great for a year except the dishwasher (DW80F800 series with stormwash). This dishwasher was why it took a month because it was an upgrade to the one on order but was out of stock. This dishwasher sucks! Not only does it not dry dishes from the beginning when I got it; yes I use the jet dry liquid rinse aid, error messages now keep coming on even after repairman came and replaced the main board (which took almost three weeks of hand-washing dishes), it does not have a heat drying element. $700 piece of **, after reading all the reviews of the same thing happening with lots of other Samsung dishwashers. As one reviewer said, Samsung needs to stick to making cell phones!P.S. I now have another repair order for this 15 month-old dishwasher and if he cant fix it this time Im gonna insist on a re-select from hhgregg and get a more reliable dishwasher.... The fridge, range, and microwave work well so far but STAY AWAY FROM SAMSUNG DISHWASHERS! ...or anything they should make that requires water. God forbid they start making hot tubs!

This an update on my trouble getting my Samsung refrigerator fixed. Its been going on for 6 weeks now. Granted we have been out of town for 2 of those weeks. First attempt to fix it was to replace the computer board ($375). This took almost 2 weeks due delay in getting first one that was on backorder and was defective so another had to be order. This didnt work. The repair people came back out and decided that it was the cooling fan BUT the fan is manufactures discontinued, so we have to buy the whole cooling panel of $180. The repair people and Lowes advised that the repair people write a letter stating the problems and what they have had to do and cost of fixing this problem and submit to Samsung for a possible credit for a new one. Fortunately we have the beer and watermelon refrigerator in the garage, which ironically is the one we replace with the high tech Samsung. I only wish I could sue them for forcing me to live with an unhappy wife for this long.

We recently put an entire modern kitchen and addition on our home. At that point given we had for many years used Samsung we upgraded the white GE appliances to Samsung in our home as they were here when we bought it. We bought a new French door bottom drawer freezer fridge, pretty much top of the line at Home Depot. We bought the matching microwave model #ME21H705MQS/AC, and lastly also the matching stove with convection, steam cleaning. The fridge was delivered first and it would not shut off and was very loud to a point were it interrupted conversations. After following their processes and after the technician came and he agreed something was very wrong, we had to them go through their executive center who literally after 20 minutes told they would sent our request for this 4 day old fridge to their engineering department to see if we qualified to have to returned. Home Depot were totally disconnected from this process. They told us they did not accept returns only repairs. We told them and Samsung should their technician who acknowledge this brand new fridge had significant issues and after the so-called executive center began by telling they would promptly resolve our issue. We told their executive center should their decision be to contradict their field technician and not replace and or return it we would seek legal counsel. They called later saying Samsung would return to Samsung. That process has taken 3 weeks since and the unit has been returned back and we await a refund. Think of the logistics involved in such a key appliance as a fridge and not just the food but having two in the house at the same time. We still do not have our refund. Friday night my wife decided make popcorn for the first time as we are only at this home on weekends in our now month old over the range microwave. With seconds she was screaming as it was on fire with flames shooting out of the side panel on the right hand side. It filled our new kitchen with disgusting white thick terrible smelling smoke. We called Home Depot and again the nightmare starts all over with chasing out tails. In various conversations with service people they tells us there are silent recalls. We are not sure about that but in any case why are they shipping products that can cause fires?Google how often this happens!I should have mentioned we have been asking to speak to a Samsung manager since this beginning with no feedback. Why should we keep the stove now??? Had we done our research this would not have happened. It is shame our home has been filled with Samsung products till this series of issues but never again!

I remodeled my kitchen 4 years ago and purchased all new Samsung appliances. They were magnificent looking! However, the microwave touch panel malfunctioned after just a few months and went completely black... no lights. Samsung repaired it due to a recall on the panel. Now four years later it is out again! I had to purchase a new microwave today... NOT SAMSUNG. The range already has one malfunctioning burner so now Im down to 3 burners. The refrigerators ice maker stopped working after 7 months.... cost $450 to replace. Samsung only guarantees the ice maker for 5-6 months. Only Samsung repair people can fix your appliances because no one else can get the necessary parts, so the repair charge is double that of other appliance repair businesses. The dishwasher cleans horribly and leaves grit in EVERY glass/cup. We bought a Samsung Dishwasher at the Sears store in Plymouth, Wisconsin. It only worked for about three months. At first, very well. But after that, it would start and then shut off after about five minutes not washing the dishes at all. We would start it over and over and the same thing would happen, it would make noise as if it was starting the wash cycle, then shut off and the alert would have switched on its own to delicate, which we did not set it to. The soap was always untouched, the dishes never cleaned. We called Sears and they said our computer panel was not operating properly. We had them replace it. The dishwasher worked for maybe a month and has now stopped working again, even after a new computer panel was installed. This is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned. I was going to buy a Bosch (which we have had at two other homes and felt it was an outstanding product), but was talked into this crummy one by the saleswoman who assured me it was even better than Bosch. Yeah, right. What a joke. It is pure garbage. I feel absolutely ripped off of 700+ dollars and a lot of aggravation with two lengthy service calls and hours and hours on the phone. I want my money back but feel I have zero recourse. I am so mad we threw good money after a very, very bad product. DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG DISHWASHER. EVER.

The first Samsung was bought in Nov 14, 2014. The motherboard went out April 19, 2015. A repairman was sent out 5 days later by Lowes and he says Its the motherboard and it would have to be ordered. 2 weeks later we are still without a refrigerator. Numerous calls back and forth between Samsung and Lowes customer support where I was told by ** at Samsung that she could send a repairman out but this would be at my expense. She also tells me my one year manufacturers warranty was non existent because the date that the refrigerator was made is the date the warranty starts. So my 5 month old fridge was out of warranty. Again 2 weeks without a refrigerator and numerous calls later Lowes comes through for me and exchanges my dead Samsung for another Samsung. This one had a much shorter life expectancy and expired 51 days after delivery. Lowes again came through for me with another exchange... a Whirlpool. I have sent a letter to Samsung and described in great detail the problems that I encountered with the first refrigerator and have yet to hear from them.
