Ive used this GE model JES2051DN1BB (manufacturer date August 2008) microwave for ten years now and impressed that it is still working perfectly cause you dont see that much anymore. I usually prefer Maytag products cause my GE washer and dryer did not last for me, but this has seem to be different. Maybe GE should stick to making microwave ovens instead of anything else.

I was sitting on my couch and I heard something running. I walked into the kitchen and saw my GE Profile microwave was running. At first I doubted myself and thought maybe I did something and then I cleared it out and went and sat back down. It did it again and again several more time. This is very scary. It was running like someone had set it and it was getting hot inside. Im not sure what else to do. The last time I had the same type of problem and just bought a replacement microwave and now this one is doing the same.

This dishwasher model no. GDL6860N00SS and serial no. DM833394B was purchased in the summer of 2008 and has given me no problems until now. I used it last around 3pm on October 11, 2011 and apparently it was still heating up because my husband noticed a plastic burning smell the next morning. So he opened the dishwasher and it was burning hot! It had my granite countertop scorching hot, it also started to melt the bottle on the top of the counter. I think this could be a manufacturers defect.

The microwave has done its job for the last 15 years and is still going strong. It isnt perfect, but it serves me well. The microwave is fine, but I am no longer a fan of GE products. The design of their stove makes it difficult to clean. I had to pick their dishwasher because it was the only one with the right dimensions. It does a terrible job cleaning the dishes.

We bought 6 new GE appliances when we purchased a new home. The reason: my husband worked for GE for 35 years and we wanted tell our friends how happy we are with them! Now, we are sorry we have to complain about the dishwasher (Model #GDWF160R1OSS). The only good thing about it is how quiet it is. We have tried many different soap products, a little soap, more soap, Rinse Aid, half clean or nearly clean dishes placed inside, only to have the glassware looking horrid, not clean and cloudy. Service man offered suggestions but none have worked. The stainless steel interior also looks horrid because of streaks. So much for energy efficiency when we have to wash all our glassware by hand to get the residue of soap off them. Another dishwasher we have had for 25 yrs. does an excellent job - so dont blame it on the phosphate removal from soap.

I never imagined that a microwave in my new home would be rendered useless after 2.5 years. Like many of you, my control panel stopped working and the floor of the oven was extremely hot to touch. Heres the weird part. You can hit the number for timed cook, but youd have to let it heat the entire time. If you open the door, you cannot restart it. You have to unplug it to reset. Of course, I called GE customer service, who gave me the same spiel about $80 service call, plus repair and parts. Thanks to your candid remarks, I will not be purchasing another GE appliance.

GE Microwave Model JVM6175EF1ES - On July 26, 2014 purchased as a set stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. From the beginning I had problems with the microwave with the door had a bad connection and the microwave would shut off. On April 2015 the microwave started working without me starting it and I had look up and I saw sparks on the inside and I unplug it. GE replace it and now after 2 years I have the same problem just started and would not shut off and I unplug it. Both times I was lucky to be home. I would like GE to fix my microwave. I understand it has passed one year but, I think appliances should not break down after 2 years. I would like it fixed or replaced if possible. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

PVM1870SMC ($580 plus tax/Cost CDN). I bought all new GE Profile units in mid 2010 for my new house. I spent $7000, plus tax, for 4 items from a reputable company in Hannon Ontario. I bought a Fridge, Dual fuel range, Dishwasher and last the Microwave, model stated above.About 6 months back it started acting funny, but thought not too much of it as it was very intermittent. Today the Microwave will NOT seem to shut off after it beeps from cooking/warming up food and the door is open then closed. I close the door and it starts to hums. If food is in it, you can see it is still cooking. I open the door, and then close it again and it starts to Humming as soon as the door closes. The glass tray does not turn, nor does the light go on (when humming) as it does when you actually push the start button. If you do start it, everything works, that is the table turns, light goes on and it cooks/warms food etc. Then it beeps when done, you open the door to remove items, close the door, and again just starts humming.I unplug it for an hour, but as soon as you plug back in, again.. Hums until you open the door. I put a cup of water in it, and just closed the door, did not push the start button. After about 40 seconds, the water started to boil.

I have an above the range GE microwave oven, model no. JVM1750M1CC. It has been in service for about 9 years. About 6 months ago it stopped working with an F3 code. The code claims the control panel needs to be replaced. I found that the price of the control panel was over $100 and the service call was at least $100. A little shopping around and I found I can purchase a new oven for about the same price. As the control panel is located just above the largest burner where water is usually heated to a boil, it receives a lot of steam. I visited a local church second hand store and purchased a countertop microwave and used it while I found a good solution. I decided to let it dry out for a few days and lo and behold it worked again. Unfortunately it only worked for a few hours, sometimes a full day and then I needed to let it dry out some more. I purchased an extension cord with an on/off switch and hooked it up. Now I can stop the electricity without having to climb up on a chair to pull the plug. Once I was set up with the easy on/off switch I could easily reset it. After about a week of resetting, it got the message. It has been working properly for over two weeks now with no failures.

A recall on a dishwasher: The heating element was replaced due to the fact they said it could catch fire. The bottom of the dishwasher is plastic. They replaced the heating element with the same kind of element that was there. How could that be any safer if the bottom is still plastic? Less than three years ago, I purchased a microwave oven wall unit to replace an existing unit. Due to the size of the built-in cabinet, I was limited in choices. The cost of the unit was $2400. A few months ago, the interior wall of the unit began rusting and the enamel is peeling. I contacted the customer service dept via e-mail on their site. I was asked to send pictures and then informed that I should stop using the unit immediately due to the danger of arcing. I was also told that because I did not purchase the extended warranty, the best that GE could offer me was a new unit for $800. I asked for names of warranty companies and was given one name and number but told there were others that also offered the same service. I called this company and they clearly told me that the peeling and chipping was a manufacturer’s defect and would not have been covered by an extended warranty had I purchased one from any company. Then I contacted the GE repair service center and spoke with them. The man who answered explained that this is a cosmetic problem and that there was no danger of the microwave arcing unless there was less food in the microwave than the size of the area that was chipping. I am very disappointed in the response of GE, the pressure placed on me to make a decision in 7 days or the offer would be withdrawn, and the fact that the service department and the consumer service (complaint) department gave me entirely different responses to the same information and problem. I will probably have my cabinet rebuilt to avoid having to replace this unit with another GE appliance. Who would pay $$1600 for the use of a microwave/oven unit for less than three years? Unfortunately, GE seems to be the only company that makes a unit that fits the existing cabinet in my kitchen. Disappointing to say the least.

After the 2nd technician came out I ran my dishwasher and at 2AM realized something was wrong because it was still running. I came into the kitchen to find my entire kitchen floor flooded in boiling hot water, ruining my cabinet baseboards. I have since had two service calls canceled at the end of the time designated and today I have no technician showing up. Customer no-service is saying technician tried to call me; I have recd no call and have no message left. I have taken multiple days off work to sit at home waiting, and waiting. And this is after two already came out. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL SERVICE.

In early 2017, we bought all of our GE Profile appliances including the dishwasher through our builder as part of building a new home. Love the slate exterior. Love the whisper quiet of the appliance. I do NOT like the way it cleans my dishes. Most of the time, the soap isnt even distributed. The soap compartment is opened but most of the soap is still there. Ive followed the instructions on loading to ensure my dishes arent blocking the water that is supposed to spray up and help distribute soap. Even though I select the dry function, my dishes are sopping wet when the cycle is finished. We have to catch the end of cycle and crack the dishwasher open to let the steam escape in order to cut down on the wet. Even then, we still have to dry dishes to put them up. We have a water softener and have verified its working so I know thats not causing these issues. I would not recommend this dishwasher.

Not even a year after purchase of new cafe series dishwasher, stainless lining rusting. Service called, GE tech agrees rusting of lining, GE warranty says not under warranty. Ive replaced screws that show signs of rust with aftermarket stainless screws. Cafe oven has had three front knobs just fall off - two were repaired under warranty and had to purchase extended warranty on third because it was more cost effective. Cafe Refrigerator had drain plate in back of unit completely rust away, tech knew what problem was before he stepped foot in my kitchen, he told us this was common. He caulked some sensor inside fridge box during service, I asked why, his response was its a design flaw and unit will operate better with this modification. Oh and redesign the ice dispenser, its tilted towards the back of the freezer and the ice is dispensed out the front.

First, I want to acknowledge that I misplaced my receipt due to a move, 8 storage units and 4 houses. But...I did register my new, never before installed dishwasher when it was installed October 2020. After install I ran it empty to test/clean it. IT LEAKED. I called GE to schedule repair. I was told it was manufactured in 2018 (another said 2019) and it was not under warranty. I explained I purchased it only a few months before and installation was delayed due to my contractors. They said I would have to pay for labor but the parts were covered under warranty. I didnt like it but agreed because I couldnt find the receipt (from a big box store).Local repair people came, after 2 more calls, 3 weeks later and fixed the leak. They did not run or check if anything else was wrong with the dishwasher. I began using it and quickly realized that it did not get the dishes clean. It does not heat the water, it does not dry, it cant possibly sanitize without heat and kitchen installer said it was missing the kick plate. Geez!! And this is just the things I know!! I have called 4 times now to schedule a service repair, each time having to explained the whole thing, sit on hold, ask to speak to a supervisor, be transferred to customer service and 4 times I have been DISCONNECTED!! I bought all GE appliances so they would match but I would give anything if I didnt have to deal with GE again!! Unfortunately, I will have to call again Monday or buy a different brand. Save yourself and buy another brand!!! Wish I could submit a picture.

GE Cafe Series dishwasher model # CDW9380N20SS is a fire hazard. Three days
GE Cafe Series dishwasher model # CDW9380N20SS is a fire hazard. Three days ago, our GE Cafe Series dishwasher nearly caused a fire. If I had not been home that day, it surely would have. I ran the dishwasher as usual and went about my day several hours later. I detected a strange acrid smell and with my five-year-old who was ill and at home that day, discovered the dishwasher door was burning hot to the touch. I needed a potholder to open the door. Once opened, there was a blast of heat and smoke. I needed to use oven mitts to protect my hands from the heat to pull the racks out and handle the dishes. The heating element did not deactivate at the end of the cycle. If I had not been at home, the house would have been destroyed as all the plastic items on the top rack in the dishwasher melted. In addition the plastic parts of the lower rack, the wheels and their clips; the silverware holder; covers; the clips that hold the pot tins in place were destroyed, to the point that the majority of our silverware was coated with plastic. The plastic on the lower water dispenser has been demolished; it completely melted more than 50% of the plastic covering on the arm and is charred and burned. We are so lucky to still have a home! The door must be kept open. When the door is closed, the element super heats and presents a major fire hazard. We have noticed that there is a recall for similar models with plastic tubs, but ours has a stainless tub. GE needs to broaden the recall to include all these models. This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed immediately. Our GE Cafe Series dishwasher model #CDW9380N20SS was installed on October 1, 2008. I would not be surprised to find that parts from the recall in April 2008 were also used in the Cafe Series. I have discovered in the few days since the DW units malfunction that there are over 1000 complaints listed with similar, even identical complaints, on multiple internet sites with the same problems.

I recently decided to purchase a new microwave and use my old one downstairs. I called GE to ask them about this problem as I didnt want to have this same issue with my new microwave. GE told me they would do nothing to help me fix the problem and I need to stop using it because it is a safety hazard. I told them the microwave still worked fine and if I need to stop using it, does GE offer any compensation for something that is obviously a defect. I was told, no, GE will do nothing. I told them Id even be happy with some touch up paint but the lady was so rude, she would just sit there and not say anything until Id ask, Are you still there? Granted my microwave is several years old but because of this door defect, Im being told basically I use it anymore even though it still works. I need to just throw it away. I have a new GE microwave on order but thanks to their horrible customer service will be cancelling that order and buying another brand. I also will not ever purchase another GE product. No matter what it is whether it's a GE hot water heater, an iPhone, a car or a frozen TV dinner, you're going to find someone that had a bad experience. After a day of rain eight years after I put in my Home Depot GE hot water heater, the pilot was out. I don't know if it was wet in there or what but it took me 10 hours of repeated attempts and while I was searching online for answers and deals on replacing it, I kept trying. And tonight at 10:30 PM I didn't bugger about, I just held down the pilot for one minute, and then once the pilot remained lit on its own, as fast as I could I turned the thermostat to medium high and kaboom it lit up wonderfully. Maybe it dried out but I would not say that GE water heaters are a piece of Home Depot junk. As I said earlier I installed mine eight years ago and it has never had a problem and since tonight it restarted and I checked the tap and now have hot water. I suspect it will be fine but if I need a new one, eight years hasn't been a bad run. Just follow the instructions very carefully and repeat and repeat and repeat. Good luck.

I purchased the GE Spacemaker over the range microwave in 2006. It lasted 5 years with little use. It was the magnetron. It seemed to work fine, but wouldnt heat food. GE gave me a hard time to have the part shipped to me and said I would need GE, who charged $99 for just a visit, to install. I will never buy GE again. Products dont last and GE doesnt care to keep customers.

We have had our GE Advantium for 4+ years and the paint has started to peel off the inside of the door. We have an extended warranty with Home Depot but they deem this a cosmetic issue which is not covered. The cost to replace the door (part only) is about $260. Not sure self-painting is safe. I read here that we are not alone in GE microwave paint peeling off inside their microwaves, in general. Has there been any recall or calls action against them for this shoddy product? We love having this microwave/oven but feel like we got hosed by GE and Home Depot.

I bought this dishwasher GLDT690TBB-00 on 05/12. Its not even 2 yrs old. I had some minor complaints about how hard it was to fit bowls, how the utensil rack wasnt easily accessible, how long the cycles took, how it had to be vented right after a cycle to keep clean dishes from smelling musty... But I was willing to put up with that. I spent about $700 new. The dishes did come out clean, if I stacked them properly. I only used it when full, about 2x/week, as I am an aging widow & live alone. It stopped functioning a few days ago. Control panel lit up, a little water came in, but no action with spray, etc. Called a local repair company today. They say the control panel is shorted out, and that in turn burned out the motor. The repair cost would have been $524.61. REALLY? Not doing that! Very disgusted. Ill never buy GE again. Last KitchenAid lasted 12 yrs, but as all the repair guys say: They dont make em like they used to! Too many bells & whistles. All I require is clean dishes, and for the appliance to do its job.

I wasted my whole day waiting for GE Technician to come. Nobody called me to let me know that they are not coming. I have to call them only for a Mr. ** to tell me that they had rescheduled the appointment for another one week without notifying me. Good job that GE APPLIANCES are doing. You remember the so called TOO BIG TO FAIL? It means, they can do whatever they want at whatever time or day they want. I dont have a vent in my house and that means I cant use the stove. Is this ridiculous or I am missing something here? Is it TOO BIG TO FAIL? Yes, I forgot that. I will be staying in a house with a new GE APPLIANCE that has not been working for the last one week and have to wait for another week. Mind you, this Appliance has been used only for barely a month. Is there anybody out there who is facing the same problem or its just me. If there is nobody going through the same experience, an excuse like there are no Technicians available to come to your place and do the job. If there is anybody out there who has trust in GE appliances like I did or even thinking of getting one. Be aware that you will be through what I am going through and there will be no technician available for another two weeks. Be ready to wait for they will reschedule your appointment without letting you know, why? Because theyre TOO BIG TO FAIL. What will you do? Wait until they decide to come, if theres a technician available. I just realized that GE means GO ELSEWHERE. Thanks GE for the good job.

I purchased my new home equipped with all new G.E. Profile stainless appliances. Three years after that, our microwave (model number JE2160SFS01) had the magnetron go bad - no problem. I called G.E. and had a tech come out and replace it ($79.95). Great! 4 years later, it goes out again. But it’s still covered under warranty (cool). I call them, set up appointment, and ask what the charges will be - $79.95 home service fee. Fantastic! I schedule the appointment, and three days later, a technician comes to my home. I tell him it’s the magnetron, and he turns on the microwave for a second. He says yup and types his diagnosis into his laptop and prints out his estimate. He hands it to me, and it says “Total amount $ 270.10”! On a covered part!I asked him if he was joking, because the M.S.R.P. for that model, which I got from G.E., is... wait for it... $269.00 for the whole microwave oven! I threw the tech out and called their consumer advocate line (which took over an hour to talk to a human) and asked who sets their pricing for repairs, and was told their senior technicians set the labor charges! It’s a twenty-minute job! $190.00 for twenty minutes? So the tech left with $79.95 for doing absolutely nothing! Great job General Electric! I will never buy another product from you again! By the way, the magnetron they say is priced at $142.30 is available online for $97.50! It takes twenty minutes to replace, and a monkey can do it!

I think they should stand by and replace their keyboards free of charge since they are fully aware they are making deficient product. This is scary to have an appliance just start beeping and say shorted... luckily I had my original wired in microwave replaced and put in a plug in or I would have flipped out if I could not unplug it. I own a GE over the stove Microwave that spontaneously turned on while I was sleeping. Once the unit was running for a bit, it caught on fire. It melted thru the glass plate before I woke up and was able to remove power from the unit and stop the fire. To GEs credit, they did send a tech out to our place. The tech never did anything to find out what caused the problem. Instead he was just looking to see if the unit was salvageable. He condemned the unit, and GEs solution was a $25 rebate on the next one of their products I would purchase. The liability GE would have been up for if I were not home would have been astronomical. This appliance put my property and the life of my family and neighbors in danger. GEs inaction on this problem shows that they have no concern for the safety of the consumers that use their products. The HR response has been appalling.

Their service department is absolutely terrible. The motherboard went out after only 8 months of use. They never notified the appliance repair company that the part was back ordered (I had to follow-up on that) and every step of the way I kept being told someone will follow-up in 2-3 business days. No one ever followed up with me, I had to call to check on the status of my claim EVERY time. The request for a replacement dishwasher after two weeks was denied because the part was going to be available in another week, but then I wouldnt receive the part for a minimum of another week after that. When I asked to speak to a superior she refused and told me no one was available. After demanding to speak to one I was told they would contact me in ANOTHER 2-3 business days (well see if that ever happens). This is (still going on) an absolutely awful service experience. I dont care that the dishwasher broke, I care that theyve handled it so poorly.

This unit was purchased at Lowes on 11/22/16 and installed by our plumber shortly thereafter. Its not even 6 months old! It was poor at drying at first and then stopped drying altogether about a month ago. The GE Customer Service has sent a repairman here on 4 occasions in the past few weeks, sent faulty parts, including an element and a board (Im guessing that they mean a motherboard) but it is still swimming in water. Ive asked them to replace the dishwasher, to which they have refused. Yes we are irate, and rightly so. Whatever happened to quality manufacturing and decent customer service? I will never buy another GE product again. There should be lemon laws for appliances. Now we are being informed that the parts are back ordered until September, but that they might be able to get them from California on or about the 25th. Their apologies mean nothing when they do not back it up by amending the situation in an appropriate manner. By the way it takes 256 minutes for a full cycle. The plus side is that it is very quiet, but Im not sure how energy efficient a dishwasher can be that runs that blasted long. It doesnt clean very well either. If considering the dishwasher or another appliance, stay away from GE Is our recommendation.

I purchased a full suite of GE Monogram Appliances about 5 years ago. All are fine except the microwave which was made in China. The back is rusting out, the inside is chipping at the door and moisture builds up in the door window. This progressive deterioration has taken place over the past 5 years. I paid $420 for the microwave plus $226 for the trim kit. Now, all GE wants to do is sell me a new unit and a new trim kit (will not fit old trim kit). I paid approximately $20,000 for the entire group. I bought GE because I trusted the name. Im stuck with GE if I want to match the remaining appliances. Our Spacemaker microwave, which was installed over the stove August 2008, suddenly stopped heating food. My husband called GE, and their phone advisor advised us the microwave was under warranty. She said her computer screen showed our product registration, and she also saw we owned three other GE products. Fast forward, the GE repairman came and said the microwave repair cost would be around $400. The heating part wasnt under warranty nor was the labor. Mind you, the entire microwave (new) was under $400. We called the GE service center, and they refused to honor what their representative had told us. The most they offered was 50% off. Last year in November while we were sitting in our living room and watching TV around 11:00 PM, we first smelled smoke and then noticed fire under the countertop above dishwasher. Luckily, we were awake to put fire out and disconnect dishwasher. This was all stainless steel, top of the line Profile dishwasher, part of our all Profile line. The next day I called GE customer service only to learn that dishwasher was recalled and that we were never informed about it. Very generously, they offered to replace our unit with equal top of the line PDT750SSF0SS. Instead of taking them to cleaners, as my lawyer suggested, I was stupid enough to accept this offer. A week later, dishwasher arrived but straight out of box, the door was damaged and it was full of water for some reason?! Another week passed by and finally this piece of junk was delivered. This December of 2014, just 3 weeks out of 1 year warranty, dishwasher stopped drying dishes. I called customer service and when they learned that I never purchased extended warranty, they told me to hitch hike. They offered me special customer service number which I called, they placed my name on the list, and never called back. This is the worst company I ever had to deal with, the worst products hands down and the most horrible customer service. If you dont take this post seriously and do not run away from GE, I guarantee you will be writing one of these posts, few days after warranty expires. I have reason to believe that these machines are somehow programmed through their computer to stop operating after warranty is out. Monday comes, I am calling DA office and filing claim against this predatory company. BUYERS BE AWARE!!!

After many searches trying to do due diligence, we bought a GE dishwasher online Nov 2014. It was delivered and installed two weeks later. The day (Saturday) after delivery we loaded it and started the cycle; water went in, the circulation pump started and then the machine stalled. The machine was reset pumped out, restarted but no further improvement.Called the GE service number and after a 20 minute wait was informed that a request would be placed to a local service company. Monday the local service company (30 miles away) called to inform us they had to reject the service request and that GE would set up another. Three days later GE was called again. They were unaware that the service request was rejected so had not attempted to find someone else. They could not get another company to respond and told us to arrange the service call ourselves, pay the bill and submit it to them.My wife and I are now wanting to return the machine but were informed we would have to go through the local Home Depot. They informed us that we would need to have GE arrange it. GE was called back and informed us that the dishwasher could not be returned as long as it could be repaired which leaves it to their discretion. The process to arrange these things took a long time, many delays and many phone calls back and forth to Home Depot and GE. The calls to GE often took 15 minutes to get someone who would forward the call to the service rep which placed back in another 15 minute queue. Do not believe that Home Depot will take returns. The advertising makes you believe they will take but they do not without GEs RGA which GE is reluctant to provide. Avoid GE. I am not the first to find out that GE warranty (one year) and service is poor and that they are more than willing to wait out the warranty to leave their customers with a possible lemon. Other dishwashers are available with 5 year warranties.

Purchased GE Profile dishwasher model PDT750SSF2SS, received three weeks ago. Within 17 days, door developed issue where it would not open fully. GE contacted, company not too responsive, miscue with technician, failure to reschedule, unknown when it will get fixed. Purchased as a complete set (dishwasher, range/oven, refrigerator, microwave). Does not say much about GE quality or service. Would not purchase again.

On 05/04/2014, our GE microwave over the stove unit burst into flames. My wife was sitting in our family room and heard the microwave fan start (spontaneously). Then she observed flames reflected in the kitchen window. When she went to the kitchen, she observed the interior of the microwave was aflame. The fire was extinguished with a spray bottle of water. The burning items appeared to be insulation. The fan from the microwave was with the burning insulation on the rotating plate.

I purchased 5 new GE Appliances delivered June 1, 2014. Within the first 2 weeks, the dishwasher wouldnt drain and had the repairman out to fix it. Within the next 2 weeks, the door wouldnt stay closed and had the repairman come. He took the rubber off around the door so that the door would close and said he was not familiar with GE dishwashers and would go to showroom and look at it and come back. I said as long as I dont have a flood. He assured me that the water only fills up so far and would not leak. Within the next 2 weeks, I was downstairs and heard water running and it was pouring through the ceiling. I ran upstairs and very hot water was all over my kitchen and pouring through the floor into the basement. The unit malfunctioned and wouldnt shut off. I had to shut off the water to the DW and run to the electrical panel to shut off power. I then had to call insurance to get a restoration company to dry out and fix my house. I phoned Arkona Appliances to let them know and they gave me a toll free number to call for GE. The toll free number when you call you are on hold for at least an hour to talk to a receptionist which puts you on to someones voicemail. I was on hold for one hour the first time and one hour and eleven minutes the second time and begged to get a direct line for future calls. Reluctantly, the receptionist gave it to me. The technician had to come out and assess the dishwasher and said I needed a new dishwasher and sent the report in Friday, August 1. Because of the long weekend, I waited to call until Wednesday and they said they didnt receive the report. She asked me whether it was emailed or faxed - how would I know. Then she found the report and said I would get a new dishwasher Wednesday, Aug 13 or the 20th. Still havent heard anything. If received next week, it will have been 5 weeks from the time of the flood I have been washing dishes by hand. Awful customer service from retailer as well as GE. Problems dont go away they just get worse. Initially upset - NOW I AM FURIOUS!!!

I purchased a GE Profile stocks in 2007 and a GE microwave model JVM7195SK1SS purchased 12/30/16. We have replaced the knobs on the stove 2 times because of peeling in the past. Now we need to replace the microwave handle. The handles and knobs look like metal but they are cheaply made white plastic covered with a sharp silver coating that peels. It appears the knobs get overheated when the oven opens and the microwave handle from the steam when cooking on the stove. Last night I cut my hand on the handle! We reordered the faulty handle and now getting charge $100 from GE. The company should take responsibility for their poor design and replace it for free with a nonpeeling part. I know that we will get the same handle and won’t be able to use the burner below or hope that using the fan will keep it from cracking again. I would never recommend a GE product again.

I bought a brand new GE Spacesaver OTR mount Microwave (Model # jnm1851dmbb) and had installed in my new home by the appliance shop where I purchased it in November, 2010. I am a widow and I use the microwave maybe 3-4 times per week, and take very good care of it. I went to steam some fresh veggies this evening and the whole unit just went dead. There’s no fan, light, or keypad. It is plugged in and I did not blow a fuse or switch. I checked them all. It’s just plain broken after less than 2 years of very light use. It’s a piece of junk! I’ll be buying another brand this time. I will never buy a GE again! It’s a junk, junk and junk!

There was a recall on my fairly new dishwasher. The heater was causing fires. The repairman came and said I had to remove my ceramic tiles in front of the dishwasher for him to pull it out. I called customer service and a Tina offered to reimburse me $200 to have someone remove the tiles and pull the dishwasher out. I paid a handyman $250 in cash to have it done, called GE and they sent a man to fix it. I called again for my $200 and explained their man fixed it. They now wanted a bill from my floor man. I sent the bill and they refused to pay because the bill did not say paid. I called and asked them how their repair person could have fixed it if the floor had not have the tile removed and the dishwasher pulled out for him. I said, Ask your repair person to verify that the tile was removed. The answer was they couldnt ask him. I sent the bill again with a note saying paid in cash, a picture of the floor and a picture of me - a 74-year-old woman with a note saying it was impossible for me to have ripped up the ceramic tile and backer board myself. Again, I got a reply that the receipt that I sent was not acceptable and the case was closed.

This review is of a low end dishwasher with simple controls. It has a plastic tub. The racks seem poorly designed. Bowls are hard to fit in. It cleans competently if it has hot water when it starts and a high quality detergent. Its basic and does the job. Pretty quiet too.

Ordered a repair part for my GE Cafe series microwave because the touchpad failed. The person who took the order told me they had a No Hassle return policy. They shipped the part right away but I decided to replace the microwave instead. I am still waiting 3 weeks later for them to pick up the item via Fed Ex and credit my account. They told me I cannot drop it off at a Fed Ex office. This is ridiculous!

Two years less three weeks after we started using the dishwasher in our new home the plastic at the top of the door where all the buttons are cracked. So far it hasnt interfered with the way its working, but were on alert that it might not be too long. Ive owned dishwashers before, one for 32 years, one for 9 years. There is no acceptable reason for there to be a crack in less than 2 years. This, coupled with a refrigerator that had a broken drawer in 13 months, I will NEVER buy another GE product again!

GE Cafe Microwave CVM2072SM2SS - The touchpad stopped responding, like many other who have had this issue. GE would not give me a break on replacing the main and supporting circuit panel as suggested by the technician, so I had to pay out $500 on my own. After less than a year now the microwave wont heat. I liked the units looks and display but if it wont work, its useless.

We bought the countertop stainless steel microwave model JES1142SJ the end
We bought the countertop stainless steel microwave model JES1142SJ the end of 2010. Noticed a rust ring under the revolving paint about a month ago. The paint was chipped off and when I washed it with a dish cloth, more came off. It is getting worse. We didnt stop using it since it seems it is only coming off under the plate but is it safe to continue using? Could it catch fire? Is it putting bad things in the food we heat in it? Even though it is not an expensive microwave ($100-$125) it should not be rusting inside. It should last longer than 3 years!Sounds like GE will not back up their products since so many microwaves owners are complaining about the paint being inferior and flaking off. There should be a recall for this problem on all microwaves sold by GE. Complaints have been from countertop to the most expensive dual stoves! This is not acceptable and GE needs to step up and deal with the problem with their microwaves that they sell. I usually buy GE; but this is making me have 2nd thoughts and think that my ones I bought in 2010 will be the last purchased from GE.They did come out twice for my range when the oven stopped working at 2 years and one of the eye knobs to turn on and off needed to be replaced when it would not turn off. But a 2 year old stove should not have needed any repairs. I noticed a big difference in quality after I bought this new one when we moved. My old GE from 1996 is still my favorite one and is still working just fine in my sons house.

I bought this replacement dishwasher based on its energy efficiency rating
I bought this replacement dishwasher based on its energy efficiency rating and recommendation of the salesman. Worst dishwasher I have ever had by far (in 27 years)! Salesman didnt know it doesnt have a water heater. It worked so poorly I had a company repairman to look at the dishwasher within a week of delivery. He recommended we run the sink water until boiling before turning it on, always use normal power, steam and boost settings. The cutlery is still often dirty - you have to scrub all food off the cutlery and rinse until clean before putting it into the dishwasher. A year later, the dishwasher is not nearly as quiet and a cycle takes 4 hours. Because of the design, this machine loads quite a bit less than my old dishwasher. Overall, I am sure this dishwasher uses way more energy and I use more cycles per week. I wouldnt take this dishwasher if they were giving them away for free!

I have had this GE microwave for over a year now and have not had a problem with it. It has a variety of settings and it doesnt quit if something causes a spark/feedback, like a tiny piece of foil. It has a spacious interior and a large turntable. Also, the light stays on while cooking and comes on when the door is opened allowing one to watch and check on the cooking process even in a dim night light environment. Mid-morning munchies without having to turn a bright light on. I have tried other GE products and was disappointed with their performance. This GE microwave has worked well and I have not had any problems with it.

I purchased my GE Microwave about a year and a half ago. It has served me with flying colors till yesterday. To explain, I was boiling a small plastic pan of water for some rice. I have done this many times in the past. In the middle of the cooking cycle I heard a loud bang from the microwave. I stopped the cooking cycle and opened the door. To my surprise the glass turntable had shattered into several pieces. I cleaned out all the broken glass and tested the microwave. It seems to be working perfectly with the exception of the glass turntable. A new one was ordered. No further action is required. This is just an information for GE.

The paint started peeling on the inside ceiling area of the microwave the end of the first year we bought it. I called GE and they claimed this was not harmful to the operation of the microwave. It was disgusting to have paint chips falling onto food we were cooking. Now almost all the paint is gone and there is some rust too. How can this be for cooking and what if some of the paint is accidentally ingested? If GE did not replace or offer to repair the problem. Stay away from GE microwaves is my advice.

For the amt. of money I paid for this microwave, you would think it would outlast the house. I bought it 3 yrs ago. The touchpad covering started to get warped right off the bat, and the handle was always steaming hot when you used the stove top (also GE). The other day, while using the stove top, I happened to look at the microwave, and it had no power. I checked the breaker, it was fine. I happened to notice a crack on the touch pad. After further investigation, I noticed the entire touchpad is shattered. It was clearly from the heat given off from the stove top. And I wasnt even using the microwave at the time. I sent GE an email, didnt even get an auto response. I am going to call them, but we all know what they are going to say, and I am not paying $482 for the part. Was hoping there was a recall, since so many people on the net complain about the touchpad.

I purchased a new Modular home. It came equipped with all GE appliances back in August of 2006. The dishwasher has recently been burning the basket prongs off, as apparently the coils are over heating! I had called GE about the danger of it being another recall. Its a over the range model & came with a house purchase. It’s worked flawlessly for over 5 years now - even after being left with no air conditioning in FL for months on end. The only thing I could think to make it better is making it easier to choose longer length cook times. Button for half min & dial for all the rest can be irritating for your 16 min food.

GE GDF520PGDWW 24 white, full console dishwasher - Energy Star. I have had this dishwasher model since December 2014 and it has not drained consistently since the beginning either during the wash cycle or rinse cycle. GE has sent three different repair companies to replace the pump, the control panel, and ultimately the entire dishwasher, yet even the new dishwasher still does not drain consistently. Sometimes it drains and sometimes it doesnt. The GE-certified repairman was again here this morning and is again ordering a new pump. Counting the original pump, the previously replaced pump and the pump in the new unit, this would be the fourth pump. I tried to suggest the problem may not be the pump, but the repairman could not think of another possible issue. I do not recommend purchasing this dishwasher.
