My GE microwave is not complicated to use. When cooking prepackaged dinners it cooks perfectly in the time the food instructions say it will. I have used other microwaves that the food is over or underdone. No problems with defrosting fruit either. I am very pleased with cost and performance.

My dishwasher is part of the recall due to fire hazards. Last week it began leaking. I found the leak which is a crack in the plastic basin right under the heating element. Is this connected? Dishwasher does a horrible job cleaning so I would never use the rebate to purchase a new one nor can I afford currently.

Microwave Oven-Space Saver Model JVM6172DF1WW - This is the same problem that is well documented across the web regarding this POOR General Electric product. I purchased the microwave about 14 months ago and the keypad abruptly stopped working. After checking the electrical circuits from the main box to the device, I determined that the problem is not due to the electrical connection. GE appliance division has been in a poor state for a long time now. The company manufactures this product outside of the U.S., in this case Malaysia, and obviously has a poor quality assurance - quality control plan in place. Couple the production issues with poor customer service and you have a huge, well respected company that is putting out shoddy work.I will be trying to get someone to take responsibility for this problem within General Electric but recognize that any success in that respect is a long shot. My message to other consumers is succinct and to the point - DO NOT purchase this product with your hard earned dollars. Go with another brand with a company that stands behind its products and wants to keep the customer coming back for more. GENERAL ELECTRIC is not one of those companies.

I have had this GE microwave for over a year now and have not had a problem with it. It has a variety of settings and it doesnt quit if something causes a spark/feedback, like a tiny piece of foil. It has a spacious interior and a large turntable. Also, the light stays on while cooking and comes on when the door is opened allowing one to watch and check on the cooking process even in a dim night light environment. Mid-morning munchies without having to turn a bright light on. I have tried other GE products and was disappointed with their performance. This GE microwave has worked well and I have not had any problems with it.

Model WES1130 GE Microwave - The entire interior of the microwave just started peeling off the coating/finish around 3 years after purchase. The turntable wheel guide path totally disintegrated the finish of the path. It still worked but was so unsightly and disgusting to look into the interior and possibly dangerous to eat anything that had been put inside to cook. I just got rid of it. I purchased another GE Model JES1460DSBB and it started malfunctioning after 3 weeks. I returned it and will not buy another GE product.

If you plan to use your dishes for food or drink or if your pets eat food from bowls, dont buy a GE dishwasher if you expect items to get clean. Seems entirely incapable of producing grit-free clean dishes. Is particularly noticeable on the glasses. And I clean the filters all the time (manual recommends periodically) and I am taking a break from cleaning said filters to tell the world that GE Dishwashers are junk.

Purchased my first GE dishwasher 3 -4 years ago, it died, one month before the warranty ran out, they sent a repairman at no charge, acted like he did not know what he was doing, mumbled something about a part and left saying they would return with a part 2 weeks later he comes back and says that they cannot fix it and they sent me a replacement dishwasher free of charge, 13 months later and it died, So I bought a more expensive GE dishwasher thinking it would last, wrong, 15 months later and its dead, went to parts select and troubleshooted it, ordered all parts recommended to fix the issue and its still dead, these parts cost me 300, so I contacted GE to see what they had to say, no help at all except to only charge me for 50% of parts, I have to pay for house call and labor and installation, gee what a deal NOT bottom line, GE dishwashers are junk, dont buy them.

They told me to raise my water temperature on my hot water tank and to run my sink water until it goes hot. They told me to buy Rinse Aid. Well, I did it all and it still doesnt dry. This is an energy saver appliance. Ha, ha, its because they are saving energy at our expense.

Dishwasher Disaster SR# TD729818B M# CDT765SSF1SS - Please, Please, Please, help me to come up with a solution with the issues that have plagued me and my family since we purchased the dishwasher referenced below in the numerous e-mails and electronic correspondence! As I write this E-mail, the GE Assigned warranty repairman has the dishwasher in question torn apart and disassembled for the 3rd time in the last month and half (Please see included photos). A repair I was told was only going to be minutes to conduct has now lasted over 3 hours and caused me to miss a very important appointment. That time frame will go at least another hour if the repair is even possible? Not to mention that a dishwasher that has been used less than 25 times has once again been torn apart and reassembled. I dont care how well built they are, this in my mind affects their performance! The repairman from JK Appliance has spent at least 12 man hours of repair time on the dishwasher, made a half dozen calls to your tech support (check your records), and has never spent less than 4hrs here on a visit. Once again, I have to be here for those visits (time out of my day) plus the stress of watching a brand new $1600.00 dishwasher dismantled time after time! At what point does G.E. make a decision that the amount of money being spent to repair a defective machine is not worth it?? I have to believe that 12hrs of repair time plus an hour of travel time for three separate visits each way, has already added up to the price of a new/replacement dishwasher? The other two G.E. appliances (microwave/Gas Stove) purchased with our remodel last year have performed flawlessly and we are happy with them. However, the trouble with the dishwasher has soured us on ever considering G.E. again! I plan on sending this E-mail and attachments to every consumer/watchdog group (Consumer Affairs) that Im aware of and to the store (Lowes- Farmington N.M) that the appliance was purchased at. This is not meant to be a threat, Im just at my wits end as to how to get to the end of this long tortuous journey that a simple appliance has caused for me and my family. Yes, there are certainly more pressing problems in the world, but right now this is the one that is currently affecting my family and the happiness in our home! Please advise if there is another route that I need to go with this problem including any alternate points of contact (GEs Escalated Issues department). My phone number is ** and maybe a simple personal call of apology from someone at G.E. explaining what my alternatives are would be considered? Thanks for your time and consideration.

I purchased a GE Microwave Oven model # JES1139WL03 in late May of 2010. In early July, the paint started coming off the inside of the door when I wiped it with a damp dishcloth. I called Lowes, where I had purchased it, but was told that their warranty was only 30 days. I called GEs Consumer Support line and was told that for $65, I could ship the microwave to a repair center who would determine whether the machine could be repainted or would need to be replaced. I was told that either would require me to pay for it, since the machine still worked and peeling paint was not considered to be a warranty item. I guess if it catches fire, then they might warranty it.

I like the look of the oven but it took 3 shots to get it right. I had some bad luck with 2 out of 3. It seems the first 2 were damaged. I know many people would have given up but I owned one before this one and the only reason I gave it up was remodeling. The oven worked fine after 5 years. I guess I gambled on past performance and it still paid off. But I am really not sure about the door sometimes because it is a big door and it can seem tinnee and cheap at times. The overall performance is good and the looks are what I was looking for.

Our stainless steel finish 1100 watt JES1142 microwave is around 2 years old. Within the last year the finish inside started to corrode (yes, my wife cleaned it regularly with a non abrasive, appropriate cleanser). Also, the door latch button started sticking and a few days ago it just stopped heating. Unfortunately I cant find my receipt, but I bought it at my local Lowes on Bell Rd. Nashville TN. We purchased a new GE dishwasher from The Brick, after three washes it leaked all over our new hardwood floors. I called The Brick and they said it was GEs problem. I called GE and they sent out a repairman who told us it was a broken seal on the pump and that this dishwasher is discontinued and he cant get the part. So, that would mean GE would have to replace our washer with a new one! We went back to The Brick and told them we did not want the GE washer and wanted to replace it with another brand as we were within the thirty day guarantee. No apology or well pay for the damage to your floor (floor is warped underneath) and guess what Im still waiting for a call back from GE!! Dont buy anything made by GE. You will regret it! As well, I will not be shopping at The Brick anymore.

I bought a GE Profile dishwasher 3 years ago. After two weeks it was broken. I called Mabe Appliances and they sent out a tech. He told me it was broken. When I called Mabe back the service people told me to read the manual...yes really. Finally after a lot arguing they replaced it. About a day after the 1 year warranty expired all but one of the cycles stopped working. I have to take it apart every 3 months to clean out the water output as its clogged and the water doesnt have any pressure and therefore does not clean the dishes. I got up this morning and the dishwasher was still running but there were no lights on the front of the unit. I turned it on around 8pm so it was running for 11 hours. When I opened the door it was apparent it had been stuck in the wash cycle the whole time. It is now completely dead. Nothing works. No lights. WHAT a piece of JUNK. How can GE put their name this crap? STAY AWAY FROM GE APPLIANCES. Spend a little more and get a Samsung or LG or Bosch.

This review is related to the Monogram 2.2 Cu. Ft. Built-In Microwave Oven model #ZEB1227SLSS. The GE site: https://appliances.monogram.com/us/specs/ZEB1227SLSS indicates in two places that the built-in trim kit is included (and one place where it is listed as additional), yet GE has confirmed that in fact, the trim kit is an optional add-on with a $325 additional cost. Calls to GEs consumer line have been disappointing. Me: Your website says its included, and is in a section with other features that are in fact included but not additional fees; GE: We have confirmed that the trim kit costs extra. We have, in fact, purchased the oven and are awaiting its installation, and I have other experience with GE Monogram appliances so I expect this to operate well. But I cannot understand their reluctance to acknowledge this error on their site. Potential buyers, please beware of this issue.

We purchased a GE Profile dishwasher, model PDW9880J00ss, in July 2005, along with GE range, refrigerator and microwave oven. We have had nothing but trouble with them. Most currently, the power board did not shut off at the end of the cycle, overheated and melted the harness also. We were alerted when the odor of burnt plastic filled our home. It was fortunate that we were home and in the next room, or our house could have burned down. The dishwasher cannot be repaired. I will contact GE to see what, if anything they will do to compensate me, but I am not optimistic. I will never buy GL products again. I thought by buying top of the line products from a well-known manufacturer, I would have a quality product. I was totally wrong. Sometimes, you dont get what you pay for.

I just had a GE tech out to my house to look at a GE profile dishwasher that almost burned down last week. There was not a cover over the internal electronic control panel inside the dishwasher and that was causing the circuit board to short out. The dishwasher is only 2 1/2 years old. GE wants to charge us $200 for the repairs. But this should be something covered under warranty. Their solution is for us to pay half. I think we will go and begin to look for a new dishwasher and never purchase another GE appliance. If you are in the process of building a house and equipping your home with new appliances, I highly recommend you look for another line and another brand of appliances. I guess I need to check with an attorney to see if there are any open cases against GE for faulty electronic components in their appliances.

First, I want to acknowledge that I misplaced my receipt due to a move, 8 storage units and 4 houses. But...I did register my new, never before installed dishwasher when it was installed October 2020. After install I ran it empty to test/clean it. IT LEAKED. I called GE to schedule repair. I was told it was manufactured in 2018 (another said 2019) and it was not under warranty. I explained I purchased it only a few months before and installation was delayed due to my contractors. They said I would have to pay for labor but the parts were covered under warranty. I didnt like it but agreed because I couldnt find the receipt (from a big box store).Local repair people came, after 2 more calls, 3 weeks later and fixed the leak. They did not run or check if anything else was wrong with the dishwasher. I began using it and quickly realized that it did not get the dishes clean. It does not heat the water, it does not dry, it cant possibly sanitize without heat and kitchen installer said it was missing the kick plate. Geez!! And this is just the things I know!! I have called 4 times now to schedule a service repair, each time having to explained the whole thing, sit on hold, ask to speak to a supervisor, be transferred to customer service and 4 times I have been DISCONNECTED!! I bought all GE appliances so they would match but I would give anything if I didnt have to deal with GE again!! Unfortunately, I will have to call again Monday or buy a different brand. We had purchased the first listed model of dishwasher (Model PTD7505SSF8SS) and installed it on Aug 27/16. It worked for a total of 13 days and broke down on Sept 9/16. After a good deal of phone tag - a technician looked at it and said no less than 3 internal components had failed, the unit needed to be replaced. We were without the unit from Sept 9/16 until Dec 23/17 when the new replacement unit (Model PTD845SSJOSS) was installed. It worked for a total of 20 days and broke down on Jan 12/17. More phone tag... Tech looked at it and found a number of issues (motherboard, door switch, etc...), in addition - it had been leaking water under the dishwasher for the time it was in service. (All 20 days! What a record!)When a dishwasher leaks upstairs... It doesnt go well for the drywall ceiling downstairs. (The rep at GE was cold and calculated informing me that is what insurance is for!) Im not sure that is what someone who spent $1,699.00 for a GE product (in good faith of a reputable product) expects to be told by the individual who has the ability to make things right? At any rate, this is what you can expect from the trained professionals at GE. When they finally got around to looking at my file... They decided to simply replace the motherboard in the hopes it will fix the leak also.I would have liked a refund at this point (not likely) so I requested yet another replacement (given the issue of water leaking), they absolutely refused. As of this date Feb 2/17 we are still without a dishwasher. Goes without saying - no more GE products will enter our home and I will share, with everyone I can, the caring and kind words of support I experienced from the top level at GE.

GE over the range microwave JVM1540DP1WW - Within 1 year, the magnetron failed. I called the Sears service department to fix it. Because of that, I bought 2 more years of extended warranty. Three months after that, the microwave turned on by itself for 1 minute nonstop. I had to unplug it and call the service again. It would also turn on even when the door is open. Its very dangerous for microwave exposure!

When the handle on my expensive replacement (GE Profile for GE Profile) microwave/convection oven peeled, we called our retailer (PC Richards is really good about service). A new door showed up and it, too, has a plastic handle. The difference is, this time its solid grey plastic as opposed to white plastic with silver paint. Seems to me that an expensive SS appliance should have an SS handle. Too heavy? Just use a tube of SS - not solid. Too hot if above burners? Didnt my last GE Profile micro/convection have a SS handle? I spoke with customer relations. The person was well trained not to say anything that might suggest she agreed with me. Since the issue is cosmetic and not functional, I have to consider the issue dealt with now that the door has been replaced. I told them I will do my best to publicize this issue and that I will never again purchase a GE appliance. I also called CEO Jeff Immelts office in Connecticut. I made it clear that my dissatisfaction has cost them a long time, loyal customer and that I would spread the word. I would appreciate if anyone agrees with GE that a SS handle would be too hot over stove burners.

Not a very good job at cleaning, plus takes over two hours to run. It has a steam function, to help clean grease off of dishes, and should be used for simple cleaning too. Although the instructions state it can hold settings of 8, we have never been able to use more than 4 before it is packed. The utensil holders are almost useless. It has nice lighting for controls and a clean front. The installations instructions are not very good. They also did not include an elbow to connect to the water supply, which the hardware store manager said is standard connection, so GE just wanted to save $4.00 and piss off the customers instead.

The dishwasher, for the second time, has turned itself on and melted everything inside and got smoke in the house before we discovered it. I own a GE over the stove Microwave that spontaneously turned on while I was sleeping. Once the unit was running for a bit, it caught on fire. It melted thru the glass plate before I woke up and was able to remove power from the unit and stop the fire. To GEs credit, they did send a tech out to our place. The tech never did anything to find out what caused the problem. Instead he was just looking to see if the unit was salvageable. He condemned the unit, and GEs solution was a $25 rebate on the next one of their products I would purchase. The liability GE would have been up for if I were not home would have been astronomical. This appliance put my property and the life of my family and neighbors in danger. GEs inaction on this problem shows that they have no concern for the safety of the consumers that use their products. The HR response has been appalling.

GE cafe dishwasher, model CDT725SSFOSS - Bought new home December 16, 2014.
GE cafe dishwasher, model CDT725SSFOSS - Bought new home December 16, 2014. Dishwasher worked well for a short period of time. Six months into ownership the unit began to leak and was quickly and efficiently repaired while under warranty. 10 months into warranty, the dishwasher began to rumble very loudly during every drain cycle, to the point where it sounded like it was going to walk out of the kitchen. Warranty tech showed up and had to order parts. Not sure which pump to replace he ordered both. Tech returns 10 days later and replaces both pumps. He turns power back on and the entire unit is dead electrically. Nothing works, pumps, motors, keypad, nada! Repair keypad was ordered along with a new wiring harness, just in case it was the source of the problem.2 weeks later, and one week before warranty expires, the repairman shows up and replaces the keypad and wiring harness. Yippie skippie, everything works but the tech is still confused, telling me the keypad lights should turn off at the end of the cleaning cycle, he could never make that happen. He completes his repairs on December 23. The unit performs flawlessly for 3 complete cycles, except the lights on the keypad never turn off at the end of the cleaning cycles.Sometime during the week of January 11-17 (while I was traveling) the unit dies again. Completely inoperable electrically. Follow up call with GE warranty service and the entire focus is on the fact that the warranty has expired. I keep pressing and the warranty person finally admits that service parts should carry a 30 day warranty. Service tech arrives and tells me he has to order parts. Keypad has been back ordered and I have no idea when it will show up.Totally unreliable expensive piece of junk. I can only imagine what the future holds. This experience seems to mimic Jack Welchs business philosophy to a tee - maximize profit and return to the shareholders while minimizing production costs and ignoring the customer needs completely. Highly recommend that you run any direction except towards purchasing any GE appliance, especially the Cafe series. Dishwasher. Nonexistent quality controls, no parts available, disappointing performance, extremely high price, P.O.S! DO NOT PURCHASE GE APPLIANCES. Negative Stars rating is what I would give this product. We bought Cafe series appliances less than 4 years ago including dishwasher, fridge, stove and microwave. These are not cheap appliances. We also bought a service contract with them. When our dishwasher broke a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving, we called service to have it looked at. After 3 trips and over a month later the dishwasher is still not fixed. Each time we tried to make an appointment we were always given a date 1 week out and a 4 hour time window, but each time the technicians showed up late and once even 3 hours late despite the 4 hour window. The fact that after so many visits and part replacement the dishwasher is still broken says a lot about the quality of the product and its maintainability. All customer representatives work like zombies. The problem with GE lies within the culture. Nobody cares. The service contract is a total waste money.

I bought this replacement dishwasher based on its energy efficiency rating and recommendation of the salesman. Worst dishwasher I have ever had by far (in 27 years)! Salesman didnt know it doesnt have a water heater. It worked so poorly I had a company repairman to look at the dishwasher within a week of delivery. He recommended we run the sink water until boiling before turning it on, always use normal power, steam and boost settings. The cutlery is still often dirty - you have to scrub all food off the cutlery and rinse until clean before putting it into the dishwasher. A year later, the dishwasher is not nearly as quiet and a cycle takes 4 hours. Because of the design, this machine loads quite a bit less than my old dishwasher. Overall, I am sure this dishwasher uses way more energy and I use more cycles per week. I wouldnt take this dishwasher if they were giving them away for free!

Three years ago, we remodeled our kitchen and replaced all our appliances with GE Profile Stainless Steel appliances, stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Two months ago, the dishwasher, model PDWT580R10SS, stopped working. It was out of warranty, but the store where we purchased it said to call GE consumer service to see what they could do. They said that they would replace the parts for free if we paid for service. They said they would send a GE certified service tech to fix it. The two people they sent were dumb as a brick and after tearing apart the door, they decided that the controller board was bad and sent for a replacement. Two weeks later, they installed the new controller board and it still didnt work. They called GE and were walked through a troubleshooting guide and it was determined that the touchpad was bad. They ordered a touch pad and two weeks later, they arrived to install it and asked where the part was. According to them, it was sent to me and was at the post office, which it was not. They then asked to be paid for the three calls and I told them I do not pay for incompetence and would pay them when the appliance was fixed. Turns out, they gave GE the wrong address (their store) for the part and it was sent back. I called GE Consumer Service and talked to my rep who said she would send the part directly to me and that the service rep refused to work with me again and I should contact another service organization. The part came and it was not a touch pad, even though the packing list said touch pad. I called the GE rep, who is now a good friend and she said she would contact the store where we purchased the dishwasher and have them fix it as long as I paid for the parts. It is now two weeks since they arrived and diagnosed the problem. I just called the store and they said the part was backordered for another week. It will be close to three months before the dishwasher will be fixed if it can be. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PURCHASE A GE APPLIANCE.

I bought a dishwasher 2 1/2 years ago, along with GE fridge, microwave, convection oven for my remodeled kitchen. It was less than a year old, when the dishwasher control board went. GE fixed it for no charge, as it was under warranty. They sent the part, and the repairman was great. A little over a year later, the same thing happened. It is no longer under warranty. I spoke with a supervisor about this. This dishwasher was just over 2 years old, and again, the same thing happened. They were very nice, and sent a man over, after sending the same part in the mail, and again, he was very nice, and I was called to see if everything was to my satisfaction, and it was. I was not charged. It is now a few months later, and the machine will not begin the cycle. The lights are on, blink several times, then finally go off altogether. I did the troubleshooting suggestions, including turning it off via the circuit breaker to reboot, and still nothing. I am so angry. This is a relatively new machine. I am so disgusted that I will never buy another GE appliance, and strangely, I have stock in the company. Its a small amount, but stock nonetheless. What a shame. Now, I have to spend a lot of money on a repair that I should not have to. GE charges $90 just to walk in the door. I was told the second time it would be over $200 to repair a 2 year old machine. It is not the customer support nor repairmen that I am so angry about, rather, it is the ** machine, which is not even 3 years old! The thing is, I always try my best to buy American products, even cars. Before I call in a repairman, I am going dishwasher shopping, in case I decide that it is simply not worth an over $200 repair. I will not be looking at GE.

We selected this microwave because it has a toaster and baking feature as our small kitchen would be better without a toaster oven taking up space. Turns out user must change accessories from glass to metal when using the toaster and baking feature. The space needed to store accessories rendered the space saving concept as useless. Also, the toasting is slow and does not quite equal what a toaster oven accomplishes. Also the baking/convection mode is so noisy, one cannot hear radio/tv. 30 minutes for a baked potato is a long time for excessive noise. We bought from Kitchen Solutions in the Bronx about May 2014.

Consistent with many reviews about poor customer service and saga to try to get an appliance fixed, we experienced a very situation with their microwave. Power is on but doesnt heat food. 5 visits later and multiple calls to GE became a string of technicians having to order a part, waiting at least a week to receive the part and technician trying to fix it. For 2 weeks the microwave worked and then stopped working. Called GE again, and again they insist on having technician come by to diagnose the same problem. We put our foot down and asked for a replacement and were denied because it wasnt deemed to be irreparable. I stayed online until they offered a discount on a new microwave and they then took more than a week to send that and also proceed to take the old one which not convinced they were entitled to take given we had to purchase a new one. Completely inefficient process, customer service agents who are in and unfortunate enough to follow an inefficient process that is not focused on the consumer. Really unfortunate for a top tier company whose mission is centered around the customer but fall down on execution. Really disappointing. Im glad that we live a in capitalist state that allows us to have other choices and not feel stuck with one brand. The cost of our time and stress and technicians hourly wage is disproportionately greater than the 300 dollar retail price tag for the machine.

We sent the rebate form in, and they denied our claim. It was for a dishwasher that was recalled. We had to buy another one and only received $100 for the rebate after having to spend $500 on a dishwasher, but the rebate was denied! Unbelievable. We have written GE and the FTC with no response.

I bought a GE stainless steel over the range microwave vented oven in may of 2012. At 24 months, it caught on fire while cooking a bag of popcorn. Fire shot out of the side of the microwave. I shut it off but it still shoots fire out if you try to use. The warranty on this unit is one year. It is unrepairable.

Microwave is a 2001 and works just fine. There are a couple of things that could be better and that’s the exhaust and the lighting outside of microwave. Possibly could be more energy efficient but are bigger models built that way?

I have a GE microwave manufactured Nov. 2013, model #JES1456DS1WW, Serial # VA201954 L. I purchased it at Home Depot. I have had it about 2 years. Suddenly it started flashing PF. I unplugged and plugged, and reset the clock several times, but it continued to do this, about 2 days, then just stopped working at all. The GE website listed on the product proclaimed GE Cares; I couldnt seem to find anyone who did despite numerous calls. The only question I had was if happened to be any troubleshooting re my problem--I dont think they cared...

I have just purchased a new GE dishwasher because mine just broke after 35 long years of excellent service. I am so completely satisfied with your GE products, and I would like to tell you also that the double oven stoves are still working well.

My ancient GE Profile Spacemaker II Sensor microwave, the successor to its predecessor, is consistent, great performance, reliable. I chose this model because I was happy with its performance. But it could be less chunky. I would like to remodel my compact kitchen, and a sleek newbie non-chunky GE Microwave Oven would be awesome!!! :)

My dishwasher is very quiet and effective in its use. I am very pleased with my unit as I saves water and power when in use. It also cleans very well and smells good as it drains completely. General Electric is very reliable and outstanding company and is made in the USA.

My GE Profile dishwasher is now 4 years old and Ive put up with it not cleaning well. For the last 3 years, I get a cloudy gray film over the dishes and finally figured out what is happening!! There is a gray rubber/plastic border around the bottom screen piece that has all the holes in it and covers most of the bottom of the dishwasher. I gently scraped with my finger and lo and behold its like gray putty!! So, the whole border of this gray rubber/plastic is disintegrating!! I had a 4 year warranty from Sears and they sent out a repairman. He is just going to order that whole screen part and replace it. He scraped the rubber and it came off for him too!! He said he never saw that before. He said it is probably the fault of my detergent which comes from health food stores and NOT the Cascade that they promote. Anyway, now I know where the gray film is coming from... Weve probably been consuming this for 4 years, a little at a time (NOT GOOD)!!! Im not thrilled with Cascade either!! Probably my LAST GE product to buy!!

I called GE, b/c the microwave has paint flaking off and piling on top of my food. Just like snow flakes. You tap the inside-ceiling with your index finger lightly and it looks like theres a snow fall inside the microwave. Lots of metal is exposed. GE answer: metal is non-toxic, do not worry if small amounts ingested! Told me to not use it anymore and replace it at my own cost. After insisting that they are responsible for a defective product, they will give me a break of $100 on the price, conditioned on them confiscating the above microwave (so you or someone else does not use it). Bad deal. I am looking for another brand!

Renovated the kitchen and installed a new microwave. 2 adults in the house. First one lasted 4 1/2 years, too much to repair so bought another one. Because of the configuration of the cabinets we were limited to this dimension of microwave. Second microwave lasted 22 months, too expensive to repair. Now into our 3rd microwave. What has happened to quality products??? Everything now is chinese junk. So much for general electric formerly known for good quality, long lasting appliances.

I just built a new home and opted for all GE Slate appliances. No problems so far with microwave, fridge, and stove but the dishwasher has never once been dry or cleaned all dishes. We have had it a little over a month! Today when I went to run it, there was mold growing! I had a KitchenAid for 9 years and never once did any of this happen. From reading other complaints, it looks like Ill be living with this for some time. I will never purchase GE again.

Nothing but trouble with dishwasher. GE service is a disaster. Design flaw that is forcing me to purchase another dishwasher. Dozens of call to and from service have not yielded any results. Finally a contracted repair person made it to repair dishwasher and told me it would fail again because of the design. Avoid GE appliances at all costs.

My dishwasher came with the home when we purchased it, and we did not see any good reason to replace it. It is a standard model, with a nice stainless steel interior. We have had no problems with it and plan to use it until it fails. I would like to have the upgrade model in a new home. This one does a good job washing the dishes.

We purchased our microwave several years ago. It runs great and still looks great too. It was very reasonably priced which made it a great value. It has all the bells and whistles you would expect on a more expensive model.

Really brand new dishwasher, 2 weeks to get that fixed, now the soap dispenser door wont stay closed, order part, whats next? Contacted GE about it, waste of time, no quality control and they dont stand behind their product! Stay away from GE, last appliance for me!!!

I bought a Moffat washer and dryer, and the timer came out of place and burnt on the inside. The timer clips in and if push too hard it will fall out or break the clip. We have extended warranty on it and due the repairman came out twice. The warranty person said it cost more for the repairman than the dryer worth - theres no more warranty. I think the dryer should replace when the timer fell out of place. This dryer should be called back.
