GE Microwave was making intermittent buzzing noise 1 month after purchase.
GE Microwave was making intermittent buzzing noise 1 month after purchase. Called GE & they said they could send a tech out to check it but if they didnt find anything I would be charged a service call. I stated it would only do it once in a while so was concerned it wouldnt do it when tech was here & I would be charged so I passed on the tech. Microwave continued to make noise periodically but seemed to get less as time went on. 1 year & 10 months later it started to sound like it was arcing & shut off. Again it was periodic. Called GE. They sent a tech out & it only shut off but no arcing sound or intermittent starting & stopping. Tech stated it probably was door micro switch, but when GE called me back they said he stated it probably was circuit board. Whatever the cause it is still what I would call arcing & going off & on.GE stated They could give me a discount on a new microwave which amounted to cost of $100.00 more than I paid for it in the first place.

GE had recalls on models 8500 and 8700 due to the motor catching fire but not my 8600 which is right in between. So besides it being the worst working dishwasher weve owned by not even cleaning well, the unit catches fire and almost burns my house down and GE wants to give me a credit toward buying another fire trap as opposed to replacing it because its 5 years old. I expect appliances to last more than 5 years and not catch on fire. No more GEs for me!

Model gdt580sgfbb - About 2 weeks after the warranty expired, the dishwasher stopped filling with water. So, our friend replaced the water inlet valve. No change. If you pour water into it, it kinda pushed it around, but empties it out, wont refill, and starts whining. Then, if you open it, and turn it off, and re -shut it, it starts itself back up again! What?! This stupid thing is essentially brand New! To be truthful, it has never cleaned very well, leaving residue on dishes, and NEVER getting dishes dry. I regret buying this item! And its still not fixed. I will not buy another GE appliance.

Our GE Profile dishwasher turned itself on and overheated to the point that everything inside was completely melted. This has been happening with other models but mine PDW9900NBB is not on the recall list. This leads me to believe that there is a serious defect in GE dishwashers. Even more disappointing is the length of time one waits to talk to a customer representative. Whatever they decide to do, I have lost confidence in GE completely and do not want to replace this with another fire hazard. Bosch, here I come.

I purchased a full suite of GE Monogram Appliances about 5 years ago. All are fine except the microwave which was made in China. The back is rusting out, the inside is chipping at the door and moisture builds up in the door window. This progressive deterioration has taken place over the past 5 years. I paid $420 for the microwave plus $226 for the trim kit. Now, all GE wants to do is sell me a new unit and a new trim kit (will not fit old trim kit). I paid approximately $20,000 for the entire group. I bought GE because I trusted the name. Im stuck with GE if I want to match the remaining appliances. There are only two people living in this house so there is only minimal usage. To further complicate things, there is no serial number on the tag.

Our microwave (GE model JEs1655DR1BB) is only a couple of years old (if that). Today, my teenage son went to make microwave popcorn and the microwave made the most horrendous noise and started sparking behind the panel on the side. It lit up the entire room. I went and checked to make sure there wasnt something foreign in it (there wasnt) and stupid me thought maybe it was the popcorn so I tried a bowl of water. It did the same thing again. I am just thankful it didnt start an actual fire, but I am furious!

We purchased a Profile Dishwasher, Stove, Oven and Microwave. So far weve had problems with all products especially the dishwasher. The bottom of the dishwasher is filled with water, the door has water running down the front and all dishes have to be dried. I have talked to GE and I was told the new models do not have a drying system as in the past due to EPA. I feel like we have spent thousands of dollars for items that are trash. Had I known I would be drying dishes I would never bought GE products. I would trade this GE for a SEARS in a minute but too late. Ill keep calling GE office, maybe a miracle will occur. Ive tried all the tricks in the handbook... doesnt work.

We purchased a new GE dishwasher from The Brick, after three washes it leaked all over our new hardwood floors. I called The Brick and they said it was GEs problem. I called GE and they sent out a repairman who told us it was a broken seal on the pump and that this dishwasher is discontinued and he cant get the part. So, that would mean GE would have to replace our washer with a new one! We went back to The Brick and told them we did not want the GE washer and wanted to replace it with another brand as we were within the thirty day guarantee. No apology or well pay for the damage to your floor (floor is warped underneath) and guess what Im still waiting for a call back from GE!! Dont buy anything made by GE. You will regret it! As well, I will not be shopping at The Brick anymore.

GE Dishwasher Model GLD7400R10BB - Remodeled my kitchen about 2 1/2 years ago and replaced all my appliances with GE appliances. I noticed that every now and then my dishwasher wasnt starting or running through a full cycle. I had called the GE repairman because my microwave was not heating up and asked him to take a look at my dishwasher as well. After hearing it was going to cost me $500.00 to fix my still under warranty microwave and the control board was no good and very expensive to replace because my one year warranty had past on my dishwasher, I will never invest in the money hog GE ever again! WARNING... DO NOT BUY GE!

I owned a previous GE dishwasher 4 years ago and would give it excellent ratings. I bought a newer top of the line version when I purchased a new home. It simply fails to clean dishes. Wet food that any dishwasher would remove, remained on the dishes. The drying cycle never dried the dishes. We have to hand wash the dishes now and have stopped using the dishwasher after 3 days of ownership because of health hazard. I called Lowes about this within days of the install. Lowes sent out the installer who claimed the machine was installed properly. Then Lowes scheduled a GE repairman to come to the home. We waited all day for him to arrive for a morning appointment. He never came. Lowes stepped up and is replacing the dishwasher with a non-GE product. I would not touch a GE product again given the lack of service and commitment to their product. I feel confident with Lowes, but not with GE - their ethics from engineering, manufacturing and servicing are very suspect with us.

A few minutes later, I heard a noise and noticed the microwave was running and the control panel indicated it was off. I opened the door it turned off. Closed it and it was on. Our $599 GE dishwasher of 3 years is literally falling apart. We have a GE Slate Colored Stainless Steel Interior Dishwasher (GDT580SMFES) and over the past two weeks, the water stopped heating and 2 seals in the dishwasher started disintegrating. If you touch the seals (the main gasket at the bottom of the dishwasher and the main seal that keeps water from leaking outside of the dishwasher), parts of the seals come off on your fingers. We bought our dishwasher through Lowes with the extended protection plan and were having a hell of a time getting it fixed... Every time we call to make an appointment, its a minimum of 15 minutes on hold and it takes FOREVER for the new part to arrive/get the new part installed (almost 3 weeks now). So disappointed in our appliance and in Lowes for selling us such a lousy extended warranty. Never again!

Purchased new GE dishwasher after previous model lasted over 11 years. Family eats most meals and home and typically runs washer at least 4 times per week. New model was upgrade with stainless steel interior and all the efficiency upgrades from technology advances. Ran great for first 18 months then suddenly we opened one morning and notices water standing in bottom of machine. Emptied dishes, re-ran with same result. Technician called and spent an hour diagnosing to determine water pump, control board and wash motor would all need to be replaced at a cost of nearly $600 or 75% of what we paid for the unit new less than 2 years ago. Simply unacceptable that GE would produce such an unreliable product. We will be replacing with a different brand and would tell anyone to avoid GE dishwashers.

I had just purchased a home and so you want an appliance that is going to last. It has a 10 year warranty. It has 3 color options. It's cosmetically attractive. I contacted by phone GEs customer service department (800-386-1215) on 2 separate occasions. The most recent was on 2/18/13. About 4 1/2 years ago, when we purchased our new house, we bought all new GE appliances for our kitchen and laundry room. My biggest complaint is with our dishwasher. The top and bottom racks are rusting and most of the prongs have broken off as a result. This should not happen for an appliance that is only about 4 1/2 years old. Their response was that I could purchase both the top and bottom rack. Why would I purchase the same racks only to have it happen again? Clearly this is happening because they used a poor quality steel. There was a recall not too long ago on our dishwasher and the service tech who came out to fix the recall couldnt believe how badly the racks have rusted. I understand there is no warranty; however, you would think or hope that the racks would last a lot longer than 4 1/2 years. I am very disappointed in the quality and the lack of help regarding this matter.

I just renovated my kitchen and purchased all new appliances. I had stopped buying anything GE because of the poor customer service and inferior appliances. After more than 25 years I thought I would give GE a second chance. What a mistake. My new microwave clunks every time the dish inside spins. GE sent out a repairman who said he fixed it. As soon as he walked out the door, I realized it was never fixed correctly. After waiting on hold with GE for over 45 minutes today, I was told that they will send another repairman out. If he finds it isnt repairable then he will send that info back to GE who will try and figure out how to fix it. If it cant be fixed then I will get a new microwave. It is a new microwave that was defective. I dont want this microwave because it has been defective since day one. I purchased my appliances from a local family owned store. GE has a policy that they (GE), are responsible for repairs for the first year and then the company I purchased the appliances from will do any future repairs. I will never buy another appliance from GE. They still have the worst customer service. Ridiculous how terribly they stand behind their appliances.

My GE Profile Dishwasher is a plain Jane without the bells and whistles, yet is a trusted, working appliance. Honestly, the only beef I have with this model is that plastic articles do not dry completely unless placing the controls on Heated Dry, and leaving the dishes in the dishwasher for the entire drying cycle. I have had my kids place some dishes in the dishwasher, caked in day old food. I left the plates in the dishwasher, hoping to teach my kids a lesson about rinsing off their dishes before placing them in. Imagine my surprise when after running the dishwasher through its normal cycle, the plates came out spotlessly clean! Impressive!

My microwave was purchased 2.13, costing about $500. The panel shorts and I paid for one GE visit, $150. And it happened again. My friend was here and said hers does the same thing. She has a neighbor with the same problem. I researched online and learned quite a bit about this machine. I found out that the panel shorts when youre cooking under it, and steam/heat rises into the machine. Makes the panel short. Im now demanding that GE return $150 service fee that I paid before I found out that its a defective machine. And this machine has to be replaced with a model that allows cooking with vents on. If GE does not do the right thing, I will make it a life goal that no one buy their products. Mark my words. Im this angry because I called customer service this week and was told that theyll give me a new panel but I have to pay for the labor and no refund for the $150 and no replacement microwave. Bought at Lowes (GE Slate GDT655SMJES Dishwasher). Even bought the extended warranty. Leaked and buckled the floor while it was under GE warranty on December 12. Had to file with our homeowners insurance to get entire floor replaced, $1000 deductible, twice. They have been out 5 times and still not fixed. Now the new flooring is damaged from same leak. After nearly $5,000 of damages, not to mention the time we have spent you would think a new $700 dishwasher would be cheaper. We bought the refrigerator, double oven, convection stove and dishwasher, matching. At this point seriously considering buying a different brand of dishwasher even though it wont match the slate. Never will we buy GE again, they dont stand behind their product, disappointed in Lowes as well for passing the buck.

We have got through 2 handles. I took the 2nd one off to replace it and the plastic that holds the glass in place just disintegrated onto the floor along with much other plastic parts. Why is the door plastic in the first place if they cannot make it from a heatproof material? Only 4 years old and we are going to have to junk it. I have a GE Profile model JT965SK4SS micro/oven combo. It came new with my new home. A couple years into it, the paint (lining) interior of the microwave start to bubble and peel and eventually started rusting. Had SEARS come out (warranty had expired) who contacted GE and they concluded it was only cosmetic that it doesnt affect the functioning of the microwave. Well, its gotten a LOT WORSE now, bubbled peeling paint all over inside, rust, exposed metal, and the paint is falling onto food. I can NOT even wipe out the interior to clean it, it makes more stuff come off/fall down. I called GE last week, was told by 2 employees that it is NOT safe to use anymore, discontinue use. I had SEARS come again (per GE). The tech said he had NEVER seen anything like it before. He called GE to tell them its not safe, exposed metal, and its dangerous. They again said, well maam, youve gotten 8 years use of it. We wont replace it, but will offer you a discount for a new one ($2,500 out of pocket for me). The person who had offered me the discount (yes, I sent pictures, showed how bad it is) also gave me a tip regarding the unit I have now with the exposed metal and the chance of arcing (spelled? like Ark) if the unit catches on fire, make sure not to open the doors, the fire should contain itself. 2 employees told me its not safe, a 3rd gave me helpful info for if/when it catches on fire... and yet, they still wont replace the unit... and do not stand behind their own products. I plan to go to our local news station, see if they can get anywhere with this, since they wont do anything. Patiently waiting and unable to afford a new unit.

In late March, we placed a service call under GEs one year warranty. The outcome - a gasket repair. Within a week or two, the door began to drip from both the right/left bottom. With having three teens, I figured someone opened the door and released some water. Well, that just wasnt the cause. Shortly over the next few days, the leak was consistent and I placed a service call to GE on 4/19. The customer representative offered, instead of a service call, to order some panels that fit it the bottom of the dishwasher. I stated clearly that our one year warranty was up on 4/25 and if this does not work, would GE address the issue with a service call? Answer was yes. Within a few weeks, I began to worry when I did not receive the panels. A call to GE was made; however, no documentation was noted of the call made on 4/19. However, GE stated the information might be in parts department, but regardless now, that call was made after one year warranty, extended warranty would fix the issue. Long story short, the extended warranty states problem initiated under GE and GE states the extended warranty is responsible because the call was made outside the one year warranty. I expressed that GE never fulfilled responsibility as GE did not even notify us that panels were not available for our unit. In the meantime, I am the one out of a working dishwasher. Now I know $539 may not be a lot to invest, but we feel the loss. The frustration and lack of responsibility to correct the repair is just beyond me. GE is responsible. Oh and did I share that lack of communication with GE is horrible? A promised call within 12-24 hours just doesnt happen. Again, I know most would say its not worth the frustration, but it makes me sad that GE and Assurant Warranty company can get away with what I know is wrong. Weve learned from this ordeal. No more GE products in our household.

Its been more than 2 months that GE repair has been TRYING to repair my 4 month old dishwasher. 4 service calls, 3 wrongly ordered parts, GE blaming repair company, and repair CO. blaming GE. The repair company on their 4th visit told me wrong part again and that they refuse to come out anymore. They lost enough money already. When talking with GE consumer Dept. promises of a call back by a manager has been non existent, now they wont even return my call. I have a 5yr extended warranty on the dishwasher and I cant seem to get anywhere with the factory warranty. GE by far the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. They were happy to take my money for 4 top of the line appliances, after that youre non existent to them. Its a shame that legal counsel is what seems my only avenue. Will never consider buying GE products ever again.

New house and all appliances came w/ it, used washer once to make sure plumbed correctly. It is the best storage container and no one looks in it... by not using it saved $38 a month in water bill and controlled water usage, throwing used water out on plants in drought, if need to sterilize put bleach in rinse water. I had 10 family members may have to use it other than for storage. Love to get a clothes pole for hanging laundry but God given rights of free sun and drying has been removed from us by associations. My machine is there if I need it. But great multipurpose and never complains... course after 13 years, crumbs in bottom and should run soon to clean it out... Its black and as this was a speculation home, builders chose colors... it doesnt show dirt as white appliances does... would buy same color again.. although real dark with oak kitchen.

Purchased new home and bought GE Monogram package. Within 6 months dishwash
Purchased new home and bought GE Monogram package. Within 6 months dishwasher started leaking bottom of door. After five repair service calls. (Thats 10 times waiting for service man or for parts to be stalled). The final repair killed the dishwasher dead and GE replaced it with a new Monogram dishwasher. I thought all was working fine but then this new dishwasher developed a leak underneath and the sensor shut it down completely. Service call made to GE and a GE service man came, only he couldnt get to the leak area because he couldnt pull the dishwasher out because the connecting water hose was being stretched so tight he said he couldnt disconnect it because he couldnt see behind the unit or the drawers to see where it was hung up. Plus he is not authorized to install or reinstall dishwashers. So I call GE repair and now have spoken to the most uncaring, dis concerned case manager handling my account. He tells me that this now a installation problem and that even though GE delivered the dishwasher and installed it that because these were outside venders they (GE) were not responsible for the installation and dont know if they used GE standards to install it. So because the GE service man couldnt move the dishwasher I now needed to get a plumber to disconnect the dishwasher, find out what the problem is with the installation, coordinate a service call date with GE service to then come out and put in the parts, then have a plumber back in to install the dishwasher again. GE will reimburse me up to $125 for the plumbers work and I have to submit the plumbers invoice. No guarantee that a leak will happen again, because the GE service man cant even run a test on the replacement parts because the dishwasher isnt hooked up to water and he cant do that because he isnt authorized by GE to install. Oh, the dishwashers warranty ended on 10/10/2015. My service call went in three days before it was to expire so service is covered for the leak (or so I have been told). But what will breakdown next with this appliance? I bought GEs top of the line package. I bought a MADE IN USA appliance and I can honestly say that this GE appliance turned out to be unreliable, unrepairable and their case managers uncaring. I will never ever, ever buy another GE appliance. I will never recommend any GE appliances to anyone ever. My KitchenAid lasted for 26 years without a service call. When I remodeled my kitchen I purchased a Bosch dishwasher. That pleasure was 13 years old when we sold our home. We have been in this new home for 1-1/2 years and now on my second dishwasher with a future of many service calls ahead and very bad taste for GE. If this leak problem is not fixed or another problem arises, I will yank this dishwasher out and buy another brand. A reliable one and definitely not a General Electric EVER! Since this GE Monogram package was purchased at P.C. Richards they will also be notified of my displeasure and I will continue my discourse of GE forever for their lack of product truthfulness and quality, plus consumer disregard.

I just found the site for the review on 5/17. Ive had two GE Cafe microwaves model CVM2072SM3SS purchased at the same time for the two kitchens in the house. The microwave in the in-law suite lasted one year and I replaced it with a very economical one which has been fine for 3 years. The electrician could not repair it. The microwave in the main kitchen is 5 years old but it stopped working (same issue of frozen panel) after 4 years. In Nov. 2016, during Thanksgiving weekend, it froze and stopped working. I looked on YouTube and we cleaned the terminals in the panel using alcohol. That worked for 2 months. When it stopped again I tried the same remedy but it did not work. The panel lights up, but it will not respond to any commands. After 7 months of it being inoperable, I decided to either fix or replace it (while using a way cheaper GE from a friend). This is an abysmally poorly engineered VERY expensive microwave. The LED panel is a disgrace! Do not buy CAFE microwaves. Im out $1500+ (for two) plus the replacements, the aggravation, the ugly looking counter with the loaner from my friend. I am ready to bite the bullet and buy a microwave that fits the style of my kitchen. It wont be a CAFE! Although it is a set... Enough is enough. I give up.

My GE Washing machine did everything it was supposed to do, especially in cleaning clothes and very few if any machine problems and they last years and years, mine was 15 years old. It kept surprising me because it ran so smoothly, truly cleaned my clothes and ran forever. The Dryer couldn't keep up with my old washer, had to buy a newer more expensive machine that couldn't dry at 8 years old. I loved my reliable GE washer.

Wow, Donna from NJ, I could have written your dishwasher report! But since
Wow, Donna from NJ, I could have written your dishwasher report! But since I didnt, I have never been so disappointed in an appliance purchase as my new GE dishwasher! Not only are some of the dishes & silverware coming out more dirty than they went in, it takes a ridiculously long time for a cycle. And if there are more than a couple of tablespoons of water on the door, it will pee out onto the floor when the door is closed! Not to mention that there is junk stuck to the floor just inside dishwasher, under the door, after the cycle has run! Yet the worst part is how dirty dishes are after even a Sani Wash cycle! Sometimes, the detergent lid is still closed. Sometimes its open, but the detergent is still there. Even then, dishes may be cleaner in appearance that time, than when the detergent is gone. A water glass, may have gritty stuff - not just detergent stuck and hiding down inside, or more obvious all over inside the glass. I have spent the past year experimenting with various things: detergents, amounts of detergents, arrangements of dishes, heat of water, pressure of water, rinsing dishes before cycle, etc. Glass and pottery normally fare better than plastics, but again the plastic may have started cleaner than they come out! The dealer has been out three times, finding nothing obvious the DW itself, nor anything I have done wrong. He has been told there is a kit that would fix the performance problem, but he cant purchase it, nor can his distributor. I have been told the length of cycle is because our government regulates the amount of water used. So my question is, then its okay to use more electricity?! Its totally embarrassing to serve someone a drink in a glass that is found not clean near the end of the drink! And I, too, have an old 12-years-dishwasher that still works! It was even a cheaper brand. I never had to think where pieces were arranged in that dishwasher. I just thought, in my newly built house, I should have new appliances!

I cant remember the exact date of purchase for my GE Spacemaker microwave oven. I have a receipt somewhere, but I have receipts for repair dated 2002. It is for a door seal gasket for the microwave. A model JVM60 GE Spacemaker installed over the range. The microwave worked perfectly for several years. Then one day, when I pressed the start button, I noticed a small fire inside the window above the control panel where the time is displayed. I called repair man; I was told that it was the circuit board, and GE was not able to send repair spare part. Since then the microwave is only good for displaying the time, and storing my everyday pan. I do remember paying $400.00 for this microwave because I purchased it at my employment. It would seem to me a company making a $400.00 appliance would be backed by a circuit board, which they know would go bad in a short time. Thats why they only had a one year warranty guarantee. To show you the difference in a microwave appliance, I purchased a small counter top microwave in 1997; it still works like a charm, and I use it every day. From the negative reviews I read on these Spacemaker microwaves, I firmly believe there should be some compensation to us consumers for the money spent, plus the hazards we experienced. If that is not agreed, then all of us consumers should file a class action suit against GE.

Microwave lasted 6 months, very light duty, burnt metal smell. Purchased from Walmart, they told us to contact GE. All GE could offer is a Good Will certificate which means, we have to go buy another GE microwave up to $155 in value. We pay taxes, shipping etc. Not really a customer-centric return policy for a lousy designed product made from cheap components in Asia. These microwaves are a piece of junk. This isnt the only complaint about this model of microwave. Others are experiencing the same problem all within the past 6 months. From March 2018 thru August. Stay away from these microwaves.

I just dont know how to start to show how disappointed and upset Im about this Microwave. I know GE is good brand but this Microwave must be the worst. I bought this microwave between July or August in 2016. Unfortunately, I lost the receipt. I bought a cash at Home Depot in my area, because I bought it cash Home Depot unable to find a record of but they remembered I did buy there between that time. I know bought that time because I bought my house in July 20116. This microwave started giving problems since June 2017. When I call GE they told me, they cant help because I dont a receipt, and they told from their record, this microwave was purchase in January 2015, they didnt want to believe that I purchased it in 2016.They charged over $100 to have a technician to come, he has to order a part that cost as well over $100, when the part comes another technician came. It was the wrong part. He had to order another part. The technician came back and Microwave work for only 1 or 2 months and stop working. Its been very stressful with this Microwave. This microwave was the most expensive, I bought over $500-600. Even though from your record you said I bought it in 2015, it still unfair, no one expect to buy something that expensive and break down that fast. I dont what to do. Im just so frustrated about the whole situation. This microwave cost me about $ 1,000 now from price to repair, and yet still not working. I wish someone reply to me and help me, if no one help I never wish to buy a GE product. So Sad GE, I need HELP.

This microwave (jvm1540dm5ww) works fine but the plastic door is fracturing into bits. I expect this is because of faulty plastic in China. Cheap alternatives for fast profits. The machine is out of warranty. Replacement door is almost 160$ with shipping. Planned obsolescence by corporate America. This machine works fine but is a waste because I don’t trust the replacement materials to be any more stable. I rated this a two because the actual operation is fine. Sorry GE. Month Long Dish Washer Installation from Hell (Try #3 the best).Install Try 1 (I took off work for): Oops, I ordered the wrong hose. I am going to have to come back next week to install. I will call you and set something up. (installer). Next week Friday: Hello is this GE Installation services Umm its Friday and the guy never called or showed up this week to install my dishwasher I just purchased??!? (me). We then set up a time for the following week. How unprofessional.Install Try 2 (I took off work for): Umm still didnt bring the right hose. Can you go to Home Depot for me and buy the right one and bring it back? (installer). Ahh No!?! This is your problem not mine. (me). Well I will have to come back then. (installer). You have to be kidding me. I have to take another day off work?!? (me). Finally he gets a guy to come with the correct hose. Umm, can I borrow a screw driver and some tools from you?(installer). You have to be kidding me, sure? (me). Installer proceeds to drop the sides and fumble around banging the pieces on my NEW floor. Finally getting it installed. It doesnt look right. Dont the feet raise up and shouldnt the dishwasher be flush to the cabinets????!? and it looks crooked?? (me). Nope. (installer). I file a complaint and the guy removes my $60 install fee and sends another team out to fix it.Install Try 3 (I took off work for): 3 guys come and re-install dishwasher worse than the guy before them. From the other room you hear banging around and Oops, I broke a screw etc... This is what happens afterwards. Umm the plastic backing and sides are showing. Its pushed out farther than it was from the first guy. It definitely is NOT supposed to look like that. Plus its loose??? (me). Best we can do. Bye. (install team). This doesnt seem right....(me). Oh no, its leaking!!!!!!!!!!!! (me). So I called a plumber to come ASAP as I said before its NEW wood floor. New Plumber NOT associated with GE or Home Depot (who I probably will be getting a nice bill for calling last minute) proceeds to fix my dishwasher for the next 4 hours...Here is a small list of problems: 1) its leaking; 2) the foot vibrated off; 3) screws broke off; 4) damage to hose; 5) bottom plate installed at angle not even remotely level; 6) scratched up floor and cabinets; 7) installed too far forward and too low. This is the list. So far we still are trying to figure out where it is leaking from and if the dishwasher even will work. Thank god I actually got a Professional this time unlike GE/Home Depots teams. I then called GE Install services 1-800-432-7167 again and this is what they had to say: We already refunded you the 60 dollars. There is nothing we can do but we will file your complaint. I called again to speak with a manager and after a long conversation, he gave me $62 off my order. -- And let me tell you that is not going to cover the cost of the plumber I just hired to fix your mess. Not to mention the 3 days off work I took. Irritated I hung up. I bought a fridge, cook top, and double oven with GE along with this dishwasher. I wish I hadnt given them my business. Apparently, I am supposed to call back if the dishwasher doesnt work when my plumber is done working on it. Oh I WILL be calling back, you can bet on it. As for now I just hope he finds the leak... Moral of the story is NEVER use the install services they offer. You are better off getting your own plumber from the start.

Unit is only 7 years old and not greatly used (only two adults who dont use it much)… Purchased as part of package including GE refrigerator, range and dishwasher (already got rid of refrigerator, as parts kept breaking and unit had other chronic problems). I turned the microwave on to make popcorn - it immediately made a terrible noise and filled with smoke with an electrical smell. Unplugged the unit and contacted GE Repair. When I described what happened, I was transferred immediately to their safety unit because of the nature of the problem. A GE technician arrived today and almost immediately diagnosed the problem: a metal component that directs the waves of the microwave generation tube had burned out, and by federal regulation, he claimed, cannot be repaired - the whole appliance must be trashed and replaced. Once again, I have experienced GEs poorly engineered products that appear to be designed to fail in a relatively short time. Can you spell planned obsolescence? I had a new house build and it came with all GE appliances. The dishwasher Model GDT530PSD255 was not drying the dishes and the run time could be as much as 3 hours. The service man was there with in week. He said the dishwasher was working properly. After running through the cycles he said its working just fine. I open the door and it was all wet and the silverware tray and the silverware was wet and some soap was still on the door. He said everybody complains about the same thing. High efficiency Dishwasher have long run cycles and most dont dry to well. The silverware trays hold water because the tray sides are flat (horizontal) and that holds about a half of cup of water. All they have to do is put them on a 45 degree angle and the water will run off. Apparently it worked well on paper and no one actually ran it through its cycle. Needless to say I hate this dishwasher and its almost at the point to do them by hand. A lot of time is spent drying off dishes and silverware.

I have had this dishwasher for less than a year and it doesnt work. The soap dispenser does not always open or it opens but the soap is not dispensed and just dribbles down the inside of the door. I have called in multiple trouble tickets. They have replaced the computer and the dispenser and have ordered another new computer and dispenser because the problem hasnt stopped. When I called GE to complain that I have had the unit repaired too many times and would like a replacement, they said if it is reparable, they will not replace it. I explained that it is not reparable if they fix it and it breaks again. This past Saturday, the tech told me that I need to run my hot water for ten minutes prior to running the dishwasher and that I should move the silverware caddy from its current location in the front (where it is supposed to go) to the back, taking up space in the rather small tub so I have less room for dishes, which, by the way have to be thoroughly rinsed before washing them. I explained to GE that if I have to jerry-rig the unit to make it work, then it is not reparable. Would they say it was okay if the latch didnt stay closed and I could just put duct tape on it to make it stay shut? If the product does not work as designed, and when the instructions that are provided with the dishwasher are followed and it does not work, it is not reparable. They refuse to replace it and while they did extend my warranty, there will come a time when that warranty is up and it will start to cost us money for all the repairs. It is costing GE more money to keep sending out techs and re-replacing parts than it would to just replace the relatively inexpensive dishwasher. Would I recommend this dishwasher to a friend? I would not recommend this dishwasher to an enemy! DO NOT BUY THIS DISHWASHER!!!

Horrible experience. I wouldnt recommend GE appliances to anyone. My husband and I ordered our items on the day of closing on our new Home. Well the items were scheduled to arrive Aug 9, 2017. Every other Appliance arrived from Samsung, but my GE dishwasher was a no show. I received a phone call hours later stating they didnt know it was on Backorder and I wont receive it until Aug 11, 2017.I spoke with supervisor Krista because I didnt understand the lack of respect far as not knowing if the 11 was a good day or even so much as an apology! Until I expressed how upset I was! 2 hours later I received a automatic message stating the items it still on Backorder and now its not coming until Aug 17th! I spoke with Home Depot who apparently has nothing to do with the vendor handling and conducting business this way and now I have to go return the product & order a new product.I dont even want GE appliances AT ALL. After calling today being put on hold 30 mins still no supervisor came to the phone. Terrible Customer service and lack of communication of the vendor. Ill be sure to highly encourage my friends and family to not support this Brand! Feeling upset and totally let down. I know this cant be how such a popular brand conducts business.

I thought there were food particles between the glass plate and the ring. When I took out the plate, I saw that the paint had bubbled and was peeling off the bottom of the microwave. Extremely unhappy with this. Ive had hand-me-down off brand microwaves that lasted much long than this GE and with NO PROBLEMS until they just rolled over and died. I have all GE appliances in my kitchen and have to say that Ill never buy GE again. Electric stove is a problem, dishwasher a problem. Refrigerator was a problem (when it was new! it was fixed and thankfully is still running well).

In 2012 we purchased a GE microwave for around $500.00. It lasted with moderate use until 2017 at which point, it almost burned our house down due to malfunctions of internal parts. After many hours on the phone and several repair visits, GE agreed to replace it. The replacement lasted until March of 2020, at which point it started tripping our breaker. I took a half day off of work waiting on a repair technician. The technician came out and replaced a switch. Two hours after he left, the microwave stopped working. I called GE back and was given another repair appointment, again taking a half day off of work, I waited for the technician. He arrived and stated that the door of the microwave was causing it not to work and he ordered a new door.I called GE and was given another repair appointment. Again taking a half day off of work, I waited for the technician. He arrived and replaced the door. That evening, we noticed that the internal light would not shut off when we closed the microwave door. Two days later the microwave started producing a burning smell whenever we used it.I went out and purchased a $50.00 microwave from Walmart. This experience has been beyond what is reasonable for a customer to experience. I have received numerous automated emails from GEs consumer relations department from a GE consumer relations employee that is allegedly been responsible for my case. I have never actually spoken to this person even though I was advised numerous times that she would be calling me. As of this point, I plan on never purchasing another GE product nor can I in good conscience recommend to anybody that would inquire, purchasing a GE product. The customer service I received has been bad to say the least and the product even worse.

2 year old GE ADORA dishwasher - I am so disturbed tonight after seeing what happened to the protection rubber that is on the exterior of my dishwasher. I decided to buy a new dishwasher because the bottom tray would not stop when pulled out at the correct stopping point. Today I got my new dishwasher installed and when the installers pulled the old one out I was shocked to see that the protectant that I would assume was placed to protect my house was melted all over my wall behind the dishwasher. WOW. Talk about a MAJOR fire hazard. Thank God my house didnt catch on fire because of this faulty equipment. Check out my pictures and you will see the pile of protectant that was under, on my wall, and behind the dishwasher once it was pulled out. Sincerely concerned.

We purchased this new 8 years ago however the problems started after about two and a half years of use. I called GE when the paint started peeling off of the door of the microwave. They asked me if I cooked salty foods. I cook bacon in the microwave. They told me my only option was to buy a new door and have it installed. It was $250 at the time. I did not have the money or desire to fool with it. I continued to use the microwave and it has continued to degrade. Now eight years later there is so much metal showing that we decided we must do something. It is unsightly and very difficult to clean because its rusting. Ive been expecting electrical arcs to occur and the microwave to catch on fire. It hasnt done that. It has continued to cook the food. The entire metal area on the door is without paint. There are other large areas of metal and rust inside on the bottom of the microwave. The entire vent panel is without paint and rusted. We also had to have the control panel replaced twice. It was covered once under the warranty and once it was not. We also had to replace the element in the oven which is used rarely. To replace the microwave and oven combination now would be $3,500. When I do replace it I will replace it with a different brand.

But I use the heat dry always, but it doesnt dry the top bottom or side walls and it stinks and a lot of food is sitting on the strainer and stinks. I have owned a GE dishwasher for over 25 Years and have never had one that was not completely dry at end of cycle. I have to hand dry my silverware. My Model Number is GDF510PSD4SS Serial number is FF736760B. I want a full refund and take back this reject. I will buy something else, I assure you it will not be a GE Product. I bought the Cafe dishwasher model #CDT855P2NS1, for $995, it arrived defective with the wrong size parts inside causing the door to not shut properly (as inspected by GE repairman). This was over 4 months ago. Since then I have been told to call every two weeks to see when a replacement model would be available in the warehouse (each of this calls required sitting on hold for over an hour). Despite having many of this model dishwasher for sale on the GE website, I have been told for over four months to call back in two weeks, because none are available at the warehouse and this is the only place you can source them from. Now I am being offered the price I paid for the dishwasher despite the exact replacement now costing $1,277, from the same place as the previous one was ordered from. This doesn’t include the $149 to install the new dishwasher to replace the defective one that was initially installed, which I am being told will not be reimbursed. I just want to warn everyone about not purchasing this product or expecting any support from GE.

Our GE Cafe Appliance package is less than 1year old and the convection/microwave door handle is wrinkling and peeling. I realize that weight may be a concern hence the plastic vs. metal handle due to the side hinge of micro but aluminum or other light metal would have made more sense. A service tech is coming out next week to replace the in warranty handle however this cost will be our responsible next year when this happens again. A light metal retrofit/recall seems to be the logical solution to remain customer centric and maintain GE loyalty. How this material choice error is handled by GE to ensure this problem does not repeat during the life of this appliance defines brand loyalty. Thank you for your consideration.

The dishwasher is poor quality. Top is thin, top dish rack has trouble with tall glasses. Bottom rack doesnt slide in and out well. The power cord and water cords are too short. They are 2 ft shorter than our previous model dishwasher. Top was loose when delivered and had the wrong screw in one of the holes. The hose and cords are difficult to hook up because they are so short. We cant fit as many dishes in as our previous model of the same size and the unbiased reviewers are saying its washing quality is poor. We havent had it long and hate it. Home Depot wont take returns on portable dishwashers though. Out lots of money on this. This GE is thin plastic trash that costs lots of money with no return.

Since 2010, our 2006 GE 1.1 cu. ft. countertop microwave oven model # JES1136WL has had power failure problems. It began in our previous home and now in our next home. All of a sudden, Id check the panel and it would say PF, which means power failure. So, Id reset the clock and there it is, ready for the next usage. Over a year later, in our new home, as of yesterday, it will start and immediately cut off. Now, weve been using this microwave in the same plug since May and now its October. So, what happened? Today, Im looking for the users manual and have located it online. But it appears that the PDF GE has for it, the Adobe document, has a problem. So, Im going to check it on my laptop, as this is my PC. Thank God we only paid under $100 for it. On some of these consumer complaint stories, the person paid a great deal for theirs.

We moved into our new manufactured home in May of 2013. That is the month our above range built-in GE microwave was installed. In October of 2013, one of my sons heated a frozen chicken cordon bleu serving for 3 minutes, 45 seconds, according to packaging directions. He said that some of the inside of his food was cool, so my other son put in his serving for four minutes, zero seconds. All of the packaging was removed and each serving was placed on a separate Corelle plate and covered with Glad microwave-safe plastic wrap. While heating the second serving, the microwave started on fire. Fortunately, my son extinguished the fire before it spread. The food did not combust. The fire seems to have started from the ceiling behind the fan. The entire inside of our microwave is clean except for the soot that billowed out from the center of the ceiling. When the service tech came, he scrubbed the soot off of the ceiling with some paper napkins (which he left inside of the unit) and said that the microwave was a total loss. He also said the fire was caused by misuse, because plastic wrap is not meant to be used in the microwave, therefore even though the fire happened within a year of purchase and installation, our warranty was void. I asked GE to get a second opinion and they agreed to send a third party servicer (A&E) who stood me up three times! I finally got to schedule a GE tech to come at the end of December and they sent the same guy who said the fire was our fault! He told me that he never said plastic wrap is not meant for the microwave, but that we are being dishonest because fires only start when the food is left in the microwave for too long. He accidentally let it slip that he is seeing the same problem with GE microwaves in a lot of new construction for student housing in Tallahassee. (We live 20 minutes south of there.) He attempted to recover GEs reputation afterward by saying that of course it was the students faults, too, for misusing the microwave units. Anyway, GE has graciously offered to sell us a new microwave at slight discount. Haha, no thank you!

I purchased this dishwasher 2 months ago and am VERY disappointed with its performance. For an appliance that claims energy efficiency it is a total failure. My last dishwasher was a Kenmore that I had for 15 years. It outperformed this thing in every aspect. Since purchasing this dishwasher my water bill has gone up and my energy consumption has gone up. Why? Because I cannot put plates close together in this energy hog or they will not get clean. I have to do twice as many washings as I used to for the same results. This piece of junk has NO WASH PRESSURE! All the dishes must be pre-washed in the sink to assure satisfactory results AND I must use the hot water boost or they will not get clean. Energy wasted doing a pre-clean and energy wasted with hot water boost - bad combination! This product is taking me backwards in savings and environmental damage.
