I recently purchased a GD720SGF2WW Serial #HD744674B GE dishwasher. From the moment I tried to use it there was a leak from the bottom of the door. I called for service and when they came the repair man said the door was leaking and there was a repair kit for it so it must be a weak spot in this particular dishwasher, which by the way was not a cheap model and was stainless steel lined. I waited a month for further service and when he finally came he realized he had mistakenly diagnosed the problem and it was a crack in the lining of the door which had gradually gotten bigger as I waited for service. So this NEW dishwasher had been leaking onto my newly installed hardwood floor. By this time I had no faith whatsoever in this dishwasher and said I wanted a replacement. I was called back and told that they would only repair it, which I have been trying to do since NOVEMBER and it is now Jan 21! I will no longer buy GE products and when I called customer service I was on hold for 20 min and finally hung up which Im sure was their intent.

Ive owned my GE Profile dishwasher for 6 years. Two months ago the pump had to be replaced and this is quite an expensive item. Then the other day I went to open the dishwasher and the doors spring gave away, hence slamming to the floor and crushing my big toe. The repairman said it was not the spring that broke but the link that holds the spring in place. The spring is actually quite strong but the link is just a flimsy piece of plastic. We are both anxious to see if the replacement link he ordered has been made stronger and are replacing both just to be sure it doesnt happen again. Although my toe isnt broken, it is extremely bruised and painful so I am going to be ever cautious of opening the dishwasher again.

Have a three-year-old townhouse in New England that came with GE appliances. Within months the microwave needed a new circuit board and, later, the auto open vent is making funny noises when it opens and closes. WORSE: Dishwasher on fritz in third year, requiring a new computer control pad. The cost: $283. American-labeled products produced in other parts of the world are going to cost twice or three times as much before their useful life is over. Shop with care, friends.

We purchased a new GE dishwasher from The Brick, after three washes it leaked all over our new hardwood floors. I called The Brick and they said it was GEs problem. I called GE and they sent out a repairman who told us it was a broken seal on the pump and that this dishwasher is discontinued and he cant get the part. So, that would mean GE would have to replace our washer with a new one! We went back to The Brick and told them we did not want the GE washer and wanted to replace it with another brand as we were within the thirty day guarantee. No apology or well pay for the damage to your floor (floor is warped underneath) and guess what Im still waiting for a call back from GE!! Dont buy anything made by GE. You will regret it! As well, I will not be shopping at The Brick anymore.

We have had this GE dishwasher model GLD6760N00SS for about 9 years and it was fine, until a few nights ago!! We ran the dishwasher, unloaded it, closed the door and went out. When we returned about four hours later we were met in our apartment lobby by the building manager who informed us that we had a fire in our apartment. It started in the dishwasher, which was off, and destroyed the unit. Repairs will be costly due to fire restoration required as well as the need to now replace more than just a dishwasher. Soot covered the whole apartment, and left a need to get a new kitchen floor and repair/replace some cabinets. Be careful of this model from GE.

Sometime in the 1970s, my mother bought all new GE appliances; a refrigerator, a kitchen range-microwave combo and a dishwasher. After her death my husband and I moved into her house and continued to use these appliances until 2007. The refrigerator and dishwasher are still going strong as of now... October 2014. The refrigerator only needed the drainage line cleaned. The range began to have some electrical shortage problems and rather than try to repair (which is what we should have done with both appliances), we decided to replace the refrigerator and range/microwave. We bought new GE appliances; a GE refrigerator (my brother put the old one in his shop), GE microwave and GE range. The new refrigerators icemaker would not work property when we got it and the microwave (Model #JVM2070SK02) quit early this year (big difference in the old microwave at 30 some years use and my new one at only 7 years use). Because my husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor and I was the only caretaker, I was not able to address the malfunctioning icemaker immediately. In fact, because of my husbands hospitalization, I wasnt even at home during that year enough to use the icemaker. WOW! What a ripoff GE is selling to consumers. My complaints wont solve my problems nor the problems experienced by other people who bought these defective appliances but it helps to vent my anger. Just recently a small leak in the waste-water drain hose (easy to replace) sent me scurrying to find a new dishwasher but when considering the replacement of my 1970s dishwasher and the reliability of my newer appliances, I decided that my 1970s dishwasher will outlast anything I could replace it with. So I decided to replace the waste-water drain hose myself. What a sad appliance market we have in the US when buyers have to replace newly purchased appliances anywhere from a few days to a few short years after purchase. I think appliance companies intentionally produce inferior, unfixable products so consumers will replace their inferior ones with new inferior models thus keeping up sales. Do we have a choice? I lived before dishwashers and microwaves and I can live without either now. I would prefer not to go back to wood cook-stove and an icebox but I may not have a choice (I actually have an icebox if needed). Is there any way to hold companies responsible for the products they produce? If anyone out there has had longevity of 10 years or more use from a newer appliance line, that is appliances made since 2000... Please share the producers name with rest of us. GE isnt what it used to be and neither are many other US brand name appliances.

GLD6560L00SS. My dishwasher (Model number:GLD6560L00SS) was producing large amounts of smoke through the face panel. It filled my kitchen with smoke and produced a strong smell. I contacted GE and they sent a service repairman out and he took a look. He said this problem is very uncommon with this specific unit and he has never seen something like this. After he removed the front panel, we were welcomed by a burnt/charcoal black face-plate. There was an internal fire in the machine. To fast forward I have been working with GE the last 3 weeks and they have offered to cover 50% off a new unit. I cannot afford this even with a discount and they will not cover the cost of a replacement. This problem could have been much worse if I was not home. The house very well could have started on fire. We normally set the unit at night and go to bed... Thank god this was a different day. This kind of thing is unexceptionable and the fact that they will not cover.

Bought a new home. GE appliances came with our purchase so it was not our choice. Dishwasher leaked and ruined our wall. Service would not bring us a new dishwasher, they wanted to repair a brand new dishwasher that has multiple problems and damaged our new home. The service guy was such an ASS! Im in my late 30s and this guy was in his 50s and he was acting like one of the mean girls. The dirty looks he gave me! Wow. He said he fixed it, and Im actually running it now. We will see what happens. What junk! I know its going to leak again when we put the new wall in. Especially after reading these reviews!

Our builder installed our GE microwave Model: JVM7195SF1SS as part of our kitchen appliances. It worked fine for about 3 1/2 years. Then it stopped heating. It turns on and appears to work, but after inserting a cup of cold water and running it on high 10 minutes, we remove cold water. I looked into this and found that the magnetron (spelling?) tends to fail. Apparently, its a known issue, based on the reviews. GE wont allow consumers to replace this and doesnt provide replacement parts. Getting it professionally repaired will cost more than the microwave is worth. GE sent me a certificate for $150 to replace it, but it will cost at least twice that to purchase a new unit and get it installed. Plus, we have to buy another GE. I dont want to end up in the same situation. So we didnt use the certificate.

Our stainless steel finish 1100 watt JES1142 microwave is around 2 years old. Within the last year the finish inside started to corrode (yes, my wife cleaned it regularly with a non abrasive, appropriate cleanser). Also, the door latch button started sticking and a few days ago it just stopped heating. Unfortunately I cant find my receipt, but I bought it at my local Lowes on Bell Rd. Nashville TN. Serial # is MA212483G. Manufactured July 2013. Was this just a lemon? Very disappointed.

Called out GE service tech to diagnose my dishwasher which was not draining after the wash cycle ended. Was told it was the control board and it would be best to buy a new dishwasher. Purchased a control board online (was a GE original part for a lot less than the GE price) but it did not solve the problem. After researching the problem online, I found out that it could be the drain valve. Sure enough, bought one for $14, installed it myself and the dishwasher works like new. Called GE Service to try and get a refund for the service visit ($89), was told that I had 30 days to have the tech come back out at no charge. Tech never advised me of this policy and GE will not refund my money.

This GE unit had a large rotating platter and easy controls, but it just stopped operating one day. When we bought our house we upgraded our GE appliances to stainless steel. I had no problems with the dishwasher until a few days ago. Then it stopped working completely. As with most of the complaints I have read the control panel was not working. We took the front door apart just to see if the dishwasher was worth salvaging or should we buy a new one. A screw was NEVER installed on the vent assembly to hold it in place. The entire inside if the door was corroded by steam and/or water. So every wash slowly degrading the electronics. 18 months, 6 months past its warranty where now its out of their hands and you can pay $89 to have someone just look at it. We were lucky it just broke because this hidden mistake on their part could have not only caused a short circuit but a fire. Like so many of the other stories. I will not buy GE again.

Ran great for first 18 months then suddenly we opened one morning and notices water standing in bottom of machine. Emptied dishes, re-ran with same result. Technician called and spent an hour diagnosing to determine water pump, control board and wash motor would all need to be replaced at a cost of nearly $600 or 75% of what we paid for the unit new less than 2 years ago. Simply unacceptable that GE would produce such an unreliable product. We will be replacing with a different brand and would tell anyone to avoid GE dishwashers.

We purchased a GE over-the-range microwave oven last November 2010 and it was installed in February 2011 when our addition was finished. Last week, it decided to stop responding to instructions. When the door is closed, it just continues to run--the turntable turns, the light stays on and the fan keeps running. It will respond to instructions, but when we want to shut it off if the door is shut, we have to unplug it--which is a real pain because it is over the range. We have an old microwave that was my wifes parents and it still works fine even though it is about 20 years old. GE brags about employing its own service technicians yet, when I called to schedule an appointment to fix our Advantium 120 microwave (3 years old), they told me that unless I provided proof of purchase to the technician, he would charge me even for parts under warranty such as the magnetron tube. This in spite of the fact that they have all the purchase information at their fingertips, as I reported when we registered our purchase. They even told me our date of purchase, had our address, email address, etc. They dismissed my suggestion that an email from them to me that I could show the technician should suffice. After 3 years and severe family health issues, I have sadly misplaced the proof of purchase, not realizing that registering the appliance for warranty provided no real benefit; not even proof that I didnt steal the thing. I am saddened that a company of the former stature of GE would stoop so low to avoid a legitimate warranty repair.

We bought a GE dishwasher and a GE oven/micro combo. We were told that we would have them in a week but it took three and a half weeks to get them. The dishwasher was damaged/defective and did not work; water leaked all over the floor several times and dishes wouldnt wash. They would not replace the unit but insisted that they had to service it. A couple more weeks passed and the repairman had to return thrice to finally get it to work. The microwave had a bent door that did not lineup properly when closed. Again, another repair was scheduled and we had to experience another service call. I have never had a worse experience buying appliances than I had at Pacific Sales. Kwam, the manager does not return phone calls. He made promises of helping us with a discount because of our troubles but has not kept those promises. Their contract installers are inept and unkempt. GLDT696 series dishwasher - I have put up with my GE appliances and their problems for years, but now I will throw in the towel. Our Contractor appliances were replaced 5 years ago when remodeling the kitchen. Ten years of no problems with cheap stuff replaced with Stainless Steel GE ovens, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. I will only mention the dishwasher in this posting. Bottom line... Wish I went with another manufacturer. The washer has a gasket that loves to fall out of place creating leaks or floods. The pump has failed after the one year warranty. The control board has been replaced twice and today it looks like there will be a third one. That is if I am stupid enough to hold on to this piece of junk. If I buy another manufacturers steel front dishwasher it will not match the other appliances. At this point I dont care. Unlikely to ever buy a GE appliance again.

There was virtually no wait to talk to a rep about my 2-month-old dishwasher with a drip (plus water was collecting inside). Less than twenty four hours after my call, a friendly man was at my door to fully diagnose and then correct the issue. This was the cheapest, bottom-of-the line model that they so quickly came to service! We moved into our home just over a year ago. We replaced all of the kitchen appliances; refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher with GE slate gray appliances. This was in November, 2014. On New Years eve (2016), the dishwasher flooded the kitchen. I removed the kick panel and saw water pouring from the pump. After the holiday, we finally got in touch with the appliance repair shop who handles GE warranty work in our area. They contacted GE on our behalf to see if GE would stand behind a product that was just over 1 month out of warranty. Bear in mind, this wasnt something simple like an indicator light burning out, this failure was catastrophic. GE basically told them (and us) to pound sand. We are a 2 person family. The dishwasher was used maybe twice a week during the year weve owned it. Amazing quality! Now Im looking forward to watching the rest of this stuff fall apart. It looks like the life span of the product and the warranty period are the same. How handy for GE. They must not have to depend on repeat business or take these negative reviews seriously.

He told me it is the dishwasher dripping water. All my cabinets, my tiles are wet inside. I have called and report it and today a technician was coming to repair it (which I will not accept.) I want a peace of mind. I need a new working dishwasher. Today, the technician was supposed to call me before arriving and I was 5 minutes away and left. In 2012 we purchased a GE microwave for around $500.00. It lasted with moderate use until 2017 at which point, it almost burned our house down due to malfunctions of internal parts. After many hours on the phone and several repair visits, GE agreed to replace it. The replacement lasted until March of 2020, at which point it started tripping our breaker. I took a half day off of work waiting on a repair technician. The technician came out and replaced a switch. Two hours after he left, the microwave stopped working. I called GE back and was given another repair appointment, again taking a half day off of work, I waited for the technician. He arrived and stated that the door of the microwave was causing it not to work and he ordered a new door.I called GE and was given another repair appointment. Again taking a half day off of work, I waited for the technician. He arrived and replaced the door. That evening, we noticed that the internal light would not shut off when we closed the microwave door. Two days later the microwave started producing a burning smell whenever we used it.I went out and purchased a $50.00 microwave from Walmart. This experience has been beyond what is reasonable for a customer to experience. I have received numerous automated emails from GEs consumer relations department from a GE consumer relations employee that is allegedly been responsible for my case. I have never actually spoken to this person even though I was advised numerous times that she would be calling me. The customer service I received has been bad to say the least and the product even worse.

We purchased a new General Electric (GE) Adora microwave model DVM1850SM4SS
We purchased a new General Electric (GE) Adora microwave model DVM1850SM4SS from Home Depot for approximately $355.00 in 2010. It was manufactured in Malaysia and had been in use for 2 years and 9 months before the magnetron failed. I spoke with a GE Customer Care representative on two occasions, and she said that the best that GE could do was split the cost of parts and labor since the 1 year warranty had expired. We had not purchased the extended warranty believing at the time that a microwave generally lasts for many years, and GE had always made quality products and would stand behind them. I indicated that I wanted to have the problem properly diagnosed by the service rep recommended by GE before proceeding further. The 10-minute service call bill set us back approx. $100.00. It would cost at least another $170 to replace the magnetron if we used the service tech contracted by GE. For $270, I believe we could find a fairly nice new microwave. I looked at alternative options for repair or replacement, since I am rather partial to the looks of the over the range stainless steel Adora. The model we have is no longer manufactured, but GE now offers the 1.9 cu. ft. Adora that Home Depot sells for around $400.00. In my internet research, I noted several postings that indicated that due to the high voltage danger of the magnetron, only trained technicians should attempt repairs. After half a dozen calls, I fortunately learned of a Microwave Service Center close to our residence that could replace the magnetron. After taking it down from above the range, hauling it in for repair and paying the approx. $104.00 bill and hauling it back to our residence to mount on the wall, we have a microwave that should work for a while! Total cost including service call for diagnosis - $204.00. Considering that GE does not wish to stand behind the quality of their products, I would not be likely to purchase a GE product again.

I purchased a new GE over the oven microwave to replace a 10-year old Spacemaker unit. After three weeks of use with no issues, the unit overheated excessively during a normal use. The heat was so intense that the pegs that hold the racks melted causing a severe burn on my sons thumb. I unplugged the unit fearing further injuries and/or fire. Are GE products manufactured poorly or did I get a lemon? Who knows? Anyone else have a similar issue? I am still waiting for GE to respond.

Its been more than 2 months that GE repair has been TRYING to repair my 4 month old dishwasher. 4 service calls, 3 wrongly ordered parts, GE blaming repair company, and repair CO. blaming GE. The repair company on their 4th visit told me wrong part again and that they refuse to come out anymore. They lost enough money already. When talking with GE consumer Dept. promises of a call back by a manager has been non existent, now they wont even return my call. I have a 5yr extended warranty on the dishwasher and I cant seem to get anywhere with the factory warranty. GE by far the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. They were happy to take my money for 4 top of the line appliances, after that youre non existent to them. Its a shame that legal counsel is what seems my only avenue. Will never consider buying GE products ever again.

Adora Microwave - door falling apart: This microwave is supposed to be installed above a range. The materials are not suited to this. The plastic door has disintegrated. We have got through 2 handles. I took the 2nd one off to replace it and the plastic that holds the glass in place just disintegrated onto the floor along with much other plastic parts. Why is the door plastic in the first place if they cannot make it from a heatproof material? Only 4 years old and we are going to have to junk it. When the first handle failed under warranty GE said that it was not covered as it is a plastic part! They finally covered it after a long conversation.

We bought this microwave (GE DE68-00307A) brand new 2 years ago and the paint is peeling off everywhere!!!! I keep my microwaves extremely clean, and this was not due to wear and tear by any means. I would say it started after about a year and a half of having it. I have showed multiple people and I cannot believe this is not on a recall list. This is extremely dangerous and could cause many issues. I am hoping someone can do something about this manufacturer and this product. This alone will make me never buy a GE product again.

Has anyone experienced a plastic burning smell when the dishes are drying? My dishwasher is 3 years old and I wash on Light cycle which is suppose to be 45 minutes long but goes for 85 minutes. Company said to turn off circuit breaker and turn back on and it should be fine, it isnt. Last two times I used the dishwasher it wouldnt completely shut down so I had to do it manually and before I did this I could smell a plastic burning smell but there was nothing on the elements. I called for a service call but they were shut down for 4 days.

Microwave is unusable at this point and out of warranty. But my previous microwaves worked for decade without any issues. This one broke in about 1.5 years. These microwaves are of bad quality. I think GE should recall these microwaves and get it fixed free of cost for consumers.

Our GE microwave just stopped working after 3 or 4 years. It was manufactured 4 years ago, but I am not exactly sure when we purchased and installed it... It may have sat on the shelf for a year. It is not the touch panel, the lights, timer, clock... They all work. In fact, I can put in a time to cook and push START and the timer will start counting down as if the microwave is cooking, but it is totally silent, no turntable, no noise, no nothing. The new replacement model number is the JVM6175 but I am scared to buy it, as I am so disappointed in GE. All the washers, dryers, microwaves, and refrigerators we have bought over the last 30 years have only lasted 3 to 7 years. The only appliance by GE we have purchased that seems to be still working is the dishwasher. We only used this microwave to heat up coffee or some leftovers. It is not being used to cook big meals or anything like that. GE has just gone downhill, it appears. I think I will just give up on them totally.

GE jvm1750sp1ss microwave - bought in 2010, less than 4 years old has stopped working. Lights are on, but when we hit the start button we hear a small pop and nothing else. The clock does work counting down but nothing else. I happen to love this microwave, it was a gift for my wife. It now no longer works and cannot afford a new one. Option 1: replace parts myself for 150.00. Option 2: call a technician for 200.00 plus parts or option 3: do without. Option 4: wait to afford a new one. I guess all things grow old but we should have enough history on these items to post a life span. Well a story like this usually falls on deaf ears but if someone is reading, make the suggestion on the life span or make the parts affordable. Thank you.

Few reconnection of wires got it working for the last few times and now it is completely broke. GE is not ready to help with fixing the issue. It wants to sell me another microwave CVM1750SHSS which seems to have similar issues (also the plastic handle for those microwaves seems to fall apart due to heat). Greetings fellow GE Appliances fans! I suppose youre all wondering why I gathered you here, so let me first say this wasnt Plan A, which was to give GE Appliances a quiet and fair opportunity to set things right. After all it is Easter and we should all be grateful for second chances or, in GEs case, fifth chances. Now about halfway through the below some of you are going to wonder why I didnt switch to another brand sooner, but Ive saved that answer for the end because, quite frankly, its the absolute best part of the story. And since most stories have a hero Ill tell you why The Home Depot, where we purchased the GE dishwasher, is the hero of this tale.On Feb 16, 2019 I purchased a new GE Dishwasher which was installed by GE. It subsequently overflowed causing approximately $18,000 in damage to the wood floors in our kitchen and our basement ceiling. GEs technician confirmed the cause was a defective factory drain pump and documented that GE was responsible for the damage. I was instructed to contact Sedgwick, their insurance claims administrator. Well have more on that later. On March 9 I received a 2nd GE dishwasher which also had the drain defect and subsequently overflowed and caused additional damage to our home. I hired an independent plumber who confirmed the installation and home plumbing were fine and that it was, in fact, a defect with the dishwasher. On March 15 I received a 3rd GE dishwasher, however it was damaged during shipment so GE was unable to install. On March 22 I received a 4th GE dishwasher which also had the drain defect, but we caught it in time to prevent another overflow. On April 3 I received a 5th (yes, 5th) dishwasher which worked once (or so we thought) but as it turned out also had the drain defect. We caught it in time to prevent another overflow. We also had an independent plumber confirm (again) there were no issues with the installation or our home plumbing. This included disconnecting the dishwasher drain hose from the garbage disposal and pointing it into a bucket. The dishwasher simply would not drain. At this point youre probably thinking how stupid it was for me to keep requesting replacements from GE and you would be correct...which brings me to my favorite part of the story. You see, even though GE refused to switch me to an entirely different GE model dishwasher line despite multiple requests, they promised to compensate us for our inconvenience which would take into account how long we went without a dishwasher (approaching two months now), how much work I missed (numerous vacation days) due to installation and repair appointments, and warned me that if I switched to another brand that their policy was to not compensate.I cant tell you how much they repeatedly emphasized the compensation aspect, so when we finally received what we thought was a working dishwasher I called to request compensation. Their offer was (drum roll...) $25.00. I literally laughed out loud (LLOLd). To be fair, after expressing some slight dissatisfaction with their offer, they raised it some but its not worthy of an additional drum roll.Fast forward to today (Apr 21, 2019) and we still have a defective GE dishwasher in our home and are still washing dishes by hand which, for a family of four, is no small daily task. GE was actually supposed to remove the dishwasher from our home yesterday, but arrived and said they couldnt because our replacement dishwasher (a Bosch...we gave up on GE) had not arrived. They already knew this before they came because: 1. We told them and; 2...wait for it...THEY were the ones supposed to deliver and install it. Weve been courteous, patient, and have done everything GE asked, but have been treated very poorly in return. I will say that most, but definitely not everyone I spoke with at GE Appliances, was polite however none of them seemed to be empowered to truly help us.As for Sedgwick (GEs insurance claims administrator): were still waiting for them to pay for the approximately $18,000 in damage to our home. Our wood floors are turning black and theres now a musty smell in our finished basement. Its been approximately 52 days and Im starting to doubt theyre ever going to pay for the damage to our familys home.Im sure some of you will say youve had GE products for years with no problems, so let me say that Im genuinely happy for you. We were, and somewhat reluctantly still are, a GE family. The last three custom homes weve built, including our current home, all had GE appliances by choice. But in the last five years weve had the original dishwasher in our brand new home break in just three years (heating element) which is what started this replacement debacle, the fan motor on our brand new refrigerator break in just four years costing us several hundred dollars in groceries and a $200 repair bill (and its starting to make the same loud noise again so may fail again soon), and a glass defect in the microwave within two years of purchase. As for the hero of this story, The Home Depot, I simply cant say enough good things about the store and their management team. Even though this was not their fault they apologized, agreed to switch us to another dishwasher brand, and paid the difference in price (even though we volunteered to pay the difference ourselves). They made it clear we were valued and said you are our customer and we are going to help you.GE must have known The Home Depot would do this, because GE is the one who told us to call and suggested The Home Depot might do something for us...something GE apparently wasnt willing to do themselves. For now it seems that GE Appliances not only mistreated our family, but The Home Depot as well. Im not suggesting that you should or should not buy GE appliances, but IF you do and IF its defective and IF it damages your home then buckle up. It may be a long, painful, and stressful ride with no end in sight.

By January 2018 (no more Warranty) it began tripping the circuit breaker. I change the power source for a dedicate circuit only for the microwave 20 AMP. The microwave blew its own fuse. I replaced its fuse. Then it blew the 20 AMP circuit breaker. That was enough. This microwave went to the garbage after 1 year and 2 month of use.

I have had a few cheap microwaves but at this point in my life I wanted to buy a good quality microwave that would last. Well I bought a 200 dollar GE microwave in February. 3 months later it went out on me. I did hard and soft reset numerous times with no success. They offered me a discounted check to replace it and it would take 4-6s weeks to receive. Instead we returned to place of purchase and they gave us a floor model to replace it. All was well for 2 months when lo and behold this one started doing the same thing. No amount of resetting would make it run. It went out cooking corn on the cob. Why is this so hard to keep running? Their response this time was a goodwill rebate certificate to purchase only a GE microwave. Why in heavens name would I want another one? It only lasts a couple of months and who is to say the 3rd replacement will not be the same.

When the handle on my expensive replacement (GE Profile for GE Profile) microwave/convection oven peeled, we called our retailer (PC Richards is really good about service). A new door showed up and it, too, has a plastic handle. The difference is, this time its solid grey plastic as opposed to white plastic with silver paint. Seems to me that an expensive SS appliance should have an SS handle. Too heavy? Just use a tube of SS - not solid. Too hot if above burners? Didnt my last GE Profile micro/convection have a SS handle? I spoke with customer relations. The person was well trained not to say anything that might suggest she agreed with me. Since the issue is cosmetic and not functional, I have to consider the issue dealt with now that the door has been replaced. I told them I will do my best to publicize this issue and that I will never again purchase a GE appliance. I also called CEO Jeff Immelts office in Connecticut. I made it clear that my dissatisfaction has cost them a long time, loyal customer and that I would spread the word. I would appreciate if anyone agrees with GE that a SS handle would be too hot over stove burners.

Our Spacemaker microwave, which was installed over the stove August 2008, suddenly stopped heating food. My husband called GE, and their phone advisor advised us the microwave was under warranty. She said her computer screen showed our product registration, and she also saw we owned three other GE products. Fast forward, the GE repairman came and said the microwave repair cost would be around $400. The heating part wasnt under warranty nor was the labor. Mind you, the entire microwave (new) was under $400. We called the GE service center, and they refused to honor what their representative had told us. The most they offered was 50% off. This review is related to the Monogram 2.2 Cu. Ft. Built-In Microwave Oven model #ZEB1227SLSS. Calls to GEs consumer line have been disappointing. We have called GE several times only to get extremely rude and dismissive customer service reps (“Audrey” if that was even her real name). They refuse to replace a brand new unit that never worked and insist on trying to repair it, but we are also being told that this will take several trips as the technician will only first come to inspect it then a second trip will be needed to bring out the necessary parts (they don’t carry them in the truck because they are “fragile”). In January 2017 the magnetron broke down, at which time I noticed a piece of plastics protruding inside the microwave through a vent hole on the Magnetron side. I did not take the extended warranty and GE only offered to send a repair man. Since this is an over the stove model venting outside, it had to be repaired or replaced. Checked with the supplier and they estimated a minimum of $ 300 repair cost. Home Depot had model JVM6175DKBB on sale for 249.00, and with delivery, and installation, were talking $ 350.00 to $400.00 to replace. I got in touch with GE Consumer Affairs, and they did eventually agree to provide the JVM6175DKBB for $ 270.00 including installation. They will take possession of the old model, so there wont be any way for me to confirm or deny a manufacturing defect.

I have owned this microwave for a little over a year and its pile of **. All they wanted to do is sell you their products and they dont stand behind what they make anymore. Nothing is made to last in this time and age. I will never buy GE products from Home Depot again.

Consistent with many reviews about poor customer service and saga to try to get an appliance fixed, we experienced a very situation with their microwave. Power is on but doesnt heat food. 5 visits later and multiple calls to GE became a string of technicians having to order a part, waiting at least a week to receive the part and technician trying to fix it. For 2 weeks the microwave worked and then stopped working. Called GE again, and again they insist on having technician come by to diagnose the same problem. We put our foot down and asked for a replacement and were denied because it wasnt deemed to be irreparable. I stayed online until they offered a discount on a new microwave and they then took more than a week to send that and also proceed to take the old one which not convinced they were entitled to take given we had to purchase a new one. Completely inefficient process, customer service agents who are in and unfortunate enough to follow an inefficient process that is not focused on the consumer. Really unfortunate for a top tier company whose mission is centered around the customer but fall down on execution. Really disappointing. Im glad that we live a in capitalist state that allows us to have other choices and not feel stuck with one brand. The cost of our time and stress and technicians hourly wage is disproportionately greater than the 300 dollar retail price tag for the machine.

Our GE Dishwasher is about 22 months old and is now not starting. GEs customer care is a joke. All they want to do is send a repair person with a $110 fee just to come and the person making the appointment refused to tell what the labor rate would apply once they got there. They offered zero help as far as troubleshooting. I called a local repairman and was told he has had many similar issues with newer GE Dishwashers. We are throwing parts at the problem now trying to get it running. He also said repair assistance or troubleshooting from GE is very poor. Really not pleased having a less than 2 yr old major appliance not working. GE means JUNK to me.

PDT845SMJES - I purchased the entire GE Profile series when we remodeled our kitchen in October 2016. The first time I started the dishwasher, it leaked out the bottom of the door. The store where I purchased it sent out a plumber who discovered the soap dispenser was missing the seal. Took a week to order and replace the seal. Worked fine for 5 weeks. Then, on December 17, 2016, it quit mid cycle and I got the leak detected error message. Now I am in dishwasher hell. The store where I bought it said they were too busy to come and check it, so they told me to call GEs customer service number. GE sent out a plumber from Iowa (I live in SD). He removed the bottom panel, to look underneath and decided it needed a new pump and also a new soap dispenser part. That was on back order, so I had to wait until January 11, 2017 for him to come back. When he pulled out the dishwasher to replace the pump, he discovered the tub was leaking along the left side. He said the unit could not be fixed and suggested I call the store where I originally purchased it. They agreed the unit could not be fixed and contacted GE and got me a case number and said GE would call me by the end of the week. Im still waiting for that call. Do NOT buy this model GE dishwasher. GE apparently doesnt stand behind its products and the stores that sell GE are helpless to do anything for you.

This is what transpired on the with GE: I called GE Service because the Magnetron is defective. I had trouble talking to anyone because the Serial Number label on the unit is BLANK. Also, the unit is 9 years old. However, my owners manual reads additional nine-year limited warranty. The customer service rep said the additional warranty is 5 years and GE WILL NOT honor the GE printed manual I have. I was escalated to a supervisor and the first thing she asked for a Serial Number to schedule a service call. I said no, all I want is a new part and she responded cant do that and I cannot schedule a call without a serial number. Hello, the label is BLANK. We went back and forth, getting nowhere and I got angry (I hope can recover the call), she is an IDIOT!Well, opened up the unit and lo and behold it isnt a GE part. I got on eBay and purchased the DAEWOO part (the magnetron the microwave was built with) a lot cheaper and repaired the unit myself. Oh, she said you cant do that. Sounds like Big Brother is alive and well at GE. I dont expect a response since I have been dealt with by the most inhuman people at GE!

I have a new house (2 years old so out of warranty) and the kitchen has GE appliances that I choose. I hate, hate, hate them all! I have had problems from the first week in our home with the stove, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher. I am so sorry I choose this brand! Today my dishwasher (for the 3rd time) isnt working. GE wanted to send their tech in a week. Then another week to get a part. I am so frustrated that I said forget it and called a local repair company. This is Friday, they will be here on Monday. I spent 2 hours on the dishwasher today. They had to replace my refrigerator and cooktop. My microwave went out 5 days after we moved in. Took 2 weeks to get it fixed. DO NOT BUY GE!

I purchased a full suite of GE Monogram Appliances about 5 years ago. All are fine except the microwave which was made in China. The back is rusting out, the inside is chipping at the door and moisture builds up in the door window. This progressive deterioration has taken place over the past 5 years. I paid $420 for the microwave plus $226 for the trim kit. Now, all GE wants to do is sell me a new unit and a new trim kit (will not fit old trim kit). I paid approximately $20,000 for the entire group. I bought GE because I trusted the name. Im stuck with GE if I want to match the remaining appliances. There are only two people living in this house so there is only minimal usage. To further complicate things, there is no serial number on the tag.

The protective lining inside the microwave is coming off in a number of areas and the metal is visible and rusted. Is it hazardous to use the oven which is otherwise working? I contacted the Consumer relations department of GE and was told that its not repairable and offered only $25 as rebate to buy another one from them or any other retail store. I visited a couple of merchants, online and in their store, shopping for a similar product and got a price range between $250-450 plus $110 installation fee for a similar OTC microwave oven. We have all other appliances at home from GE and this does not give a good confidence about the products from GE.

I bought this replacement dishwasher based on its energy efficiency rating
I bought this replacement dishwasher based on its energy efficiency rating and recommendation of the salesman. Worst dishwasher I have ever had by far (in 27 years)! Salesman didnt know it doesnt have a water heater. It worked so poorly I had a company repairman to look at the dishwasher within a week of delivery. He recommended we run the sink water until boiling before turning it on, always use normal power, steam and boost settings. The cutlery is still often dirty - you have to scrub all food off the cutlery and rinse until clean before putting it into the dishwasher. A year later, the dishwasher is not nearly as quiet and a cycle takes 4 hours. Because of the design, this machine loads quite a bit less than my old dishwasher. Overall, I am sure this dishwasher uses way more energy and I use more cycles per week. I wouldnt take this dishwasher if they were giving them away for free!

We purchased a GE Profile Microwave with our GE Profile range in 2010. In 2016 we noticed an area on the bottom of the back wall that was peeling. It is in an area where nothing is rubbing or touching it. After taking photos and contacting GE customer service I was offered a discount on a replacement microwave. I expressed my concern that a new microwave might do the same thing--peel. I was told that the newer microwaves have a moisture resistant paint. The area that has peeled is much larger now than is shown in the attached photo taken in 2016. I expected my oven to last longer than 6 years; its a GE Profile and we take excellent care of our appliances.

Purchased this item online and received delivery on 2/13/15 from P.C Richards. In less than a month after installation of the JVM7195SFSS microwave range oven the keypad stop working making it a useless tool taking space in my kitchen. Ive made more than 4 schedules for repair service. Its now May 15 Ive yet to see a repair person. Here are some of GEs lies for the past three months: GE parts were in back order; the service person claimed I wasnt home; I didnt pick up the phone. Even an appointment on my Sabbath was botched by the service person. While homebound recovering from surgery I called PC Richard who scheduled another service on 5/14/15 between 1-5pm. Still a no show. Yet PC Richards representative stated that the service person claimed that I wasnt home. The next morning 5/15/15 11:40am a service specialist named ** at ** extension ** calls stating the repairman is sick. Im confused! On what date was my repair? How do I get rid of this product installed in my kitchen wall? How do I get my money back? How do I make PC Richards and/or GE complete the repairs without losing a work day for foolishness or forsaking my Sabbath day again?

The GE MICROWAVE MODEL JVM6175EF1ES was manufactured in August 2015. I purchased it in November of 2015, brand new from Home Depot. It was not installed until April 2016. So less than 2 years after installation it malfunctioned. (The unit brand new only has a 1 year warranty). The parts the tech replaced have a 5 year warranty. That demonstrates to me that GE does not have a lot of faith in their appliances. Aside from that I paid $375 for the repair, thats almost the price of a new microwave. But I paid since it made more sense to have a 5 year warranty on the parts instead of a 1 year with a brand new unit. I WILL NOT be buying GE products in the future due to this product defect.

About a year and a half ago, I bought a GE Profile dishwasher from a very reputable local dealer. Within 3 months, the digital control panel failed. Because it was still under warranty, the dealer replaced the panel. It failed again. This time they made other adjustments, it continued to fail. Finally GE suggested that the dealer replace the entire door panel, which they did. It took the repairman a couple of hours to do so. Still didnt work. Finally GE declared the machine non repairable and replaced it. Unfortunately the men who replaced the dishwasher didnt install quite correctly because it leaks. I keep a plastic container under the front left corner to collect the water every time the dishwasher runs. But the story doesnt end there. This machine and the first one both include a sensor that apparently check for objects that obstruct the spray arms. I dont know because theres nothing that tells me why the machine is beeping when I attempt to start it. I check the spray arms, move dishes, try to start it again and still get the beeper. I have done this over and over and over again and still it beeps. I have essentially emptied the dishwasher and it still beeps. When it does run, I have to use the boost temp. option and the longest cycle available to get dishes, and I mean dishes, even passably clean. Forget pots and pans, or casseroles. So, if you own a GE dishwasher, I hope that you have the old fashioned dishpan and dryer rack handy. Bottom line, it doesnt clean well, leaks, and beeps every single time I try to start it. Buy something else.

I just found the site for the review on 5/17. Ive had two GE Cafe microwaves model CVM2072SM3SS purchased at the same time for the two kitchens in the house. The microwave in the in-law suite lasted one year and I replaced it with a very economical one which has been fine for 3 years. The electrician could not repair it. The microwave in the main kitchen is 5 years old but it stopped working (same issue of frozen panel) after 4 years. In Nov. 2016, during Thanksgiving weekend, it froze and stopped working. I looked on YouTube and we cleaned the terminals in the panel using alcohol. That worked for 2 months. When it stopped again I tried the same remedy but it did not work. The panel lights up, but it will not respond to any commands. After 7 months of it being inoperable, I decided to either fix or replace it (while using a way cheaper GE from a friend). This is an abysmally poorly engineered VERY expensive microwave. The LED panel is a disgrace! Do not buy CAFE microwaves. Im out $1500+ (for two) plus the replacements, the aggravation, the ugly looking counter with the loaner from my friend. I am ready to bite the bullet and buy a microwave that fits the style of my kitchen. It wont be a CAFE! Although it is a set... Enough is enough. I give up.

We had a GE microwave that my parents got when I was in elementary school that lasted us through graduation (when I got it), and it then lasted me another 6 or 7 years after that. It was a great microwave, so we went with GE for our next one. What a mistake that was. The new one died completely less than a year after we got it (less than a year after its manufacture date at that!). The one after, one of the same make and model, lasted 3 years to the month after its manufacture date. Sorry GE, but I just do not have any interest in spending so much for so short a lifespan on your products, and its a damn shame that your quality has suffered so badly that you have lost a once-loyal customer of your brand.

It is in the base counter so I have to reach down to clean it. l havent had a problem with it but when I wiped the inside top I felt bumps and when I looked at the cloth to see what was on it, there was paint on it. That has never happened before so I of course looked and there is a fair amount of peeling paint in one spot. I have had microwave ovens for many years. Never had this problem with any other brand. We bought 6 new GE appliances when we purchased a new home. The reason: my husband worked for GE for 35 years and we wanted tell our friends how happy we are with them! Now, we are sorry we have to complain about the dishwasher (Model #GDWF160R1OSS). The only good thing about it is how quiet it is. We have tried many different soap products, a little soap, more soap, Rinse Aid, half clean or nearly clean dishes placed inside, only to have the glassware looking horrid, not clean and cloudy. Service man offered suggestions but none have worked. The stainless steel interior also looks horrid because of streaks. So much for energy efficiency when we have to wash all our glassware by hand to get the residue of soap off them. Another dishwasher we have had for 25 yrs. does an excellent job - so dont blame it on the phosphate removal from soap.

Not even a year after purchase of new cafe series dishwasher, stainless lining rusting. Service called, GE tech agrees rusting of lining, GE warranty says not under warranty. Ive replaced screws that show signs of rust with aftermarket stainless screws. Cafe oven has had three front knobs just fall off - two were repaired under warranty and had to purchase extended warranty on third because it was more cost effective. Cafe Refrigerator had drain plate in back of unit completely rust away, tech knew what problem was before he stepped foot in my kitchen, he told us this was common. He caulked some sensor inside fridge box during service, I asked why, his response was its a design flaw and unit will operate better with this modification. Oh and redesign the ice dispenser, its tilted towards the back of the freezer and the ice is dispensed out the front.

Almost 2 years ago and right from the start this dishwasher did not clean. Numerous times they had people come out and supposedly fixed it. Ive had different suggestions as to what to do. 1. Turn on the hot water tap and make sure its hot. 2. Use various different cleaning solutions on top of the dishwasher soap. 3. Use loose detergent.4. Throw at the bottom of the washer. One of the arms keeps falling down. And the last time I was told I could return it and get a deal on a better machine. I am now left with hand washing every item that goes into it unless I want gritty glasses, dishes and silverware. I bought this at Home Depot. The new home that we purchased had the above named dishwasher (GDT655SSJSS). When I run the dishwasher there is a very high frequency whine throughout the cycle - the only time it stops is when it is changing cycles. I have contacted GE Customer service 3 times... The first time I was told to add a quart of water to the bottom of the dishwasher and that should fix the problem. Tried that - still high frequency whine. Second contact - no response. Third contact - today- called customer service after my negative appliance review was rejected by GE (buyer beware of all those positive reviews) and was told that this noise is normal. Totally Unacceptable - since the sound hurts my ears and causes a headache - I have to listen to 111 minutes of this noise (except when the washer pauses to change cycles). This is the very worst dishwasher I have ever owned and even though it is only 2 months old I will be replacing it - and it wont be a GE Dishwasher.
