I thought there were food particles between the glass plate and the ring. When I took out the plate, I saw that the paint had bubbled and was peeling off the bottom of the microwave. Extremely unhappy with this. Ive had hand-me-down off brand microwaves that lasted much long than this GE and with NO PROBLEMS until they just rolled over and died. I have all GE appliances in my kitchen and have to say that Ill never buy GE again. Electric stove is a problem, dishwasher a problem. Refrigerator was a problem (when it was new! it was fixed and thankfully is still running well).

I called the toll free number because of the concern I am having with your microwave, the paint is coming off the inside. So my concern is first why would it be coming off, is it a defect in the product or does it just happen? The person was helpful and seemed as if it was to be concerning. WELL IT IS to me. Could it make us sick, do I need to put it in the trash or what? Thanks for not helping me and not being concerned, but I am sure if it was you or family you would have had a different story to tell.

Our microwave caught fire today and burned our kitchen, stove top, & attic. According to the Fire Captain, the cause of the fire was the GE microwave panel shorting out. Had my mom not been standing right there as it happened, our entire house would have surely been a loss.

I purchased the GE Cafe dishwasher in March 2010. Starting in January 2012, some of the keypad options stopped working. Then in April 2012, the keypad stopped working completely and I could no longer get it to turn on. I did call GE for repair. When the repair person was out to fix it, they said that this model has a design flaw. It was originally designed to sit 1 below the countertop so that the heat could release without shorting out the keypad. However, that would require a person to somehow raise their entire counter or fit the dishwasher below the floor somehow. GE was aware of the problem but decided to ignore the problem. That means that even though my keypad was replaced, the same problem will occur again and again no matter how many times the keypad is replaced. I paid over $1400 for this model, and the labor charges alone cost me $200 for the repair. I think it is absolutely despicable that such a large company has allowed a high-priced, defective product to go out into the market, knowing that a major malfunction will occur out of warranty in such a short period of time.

GE dishwasher model # GDF610PGJ5BB was fine the first year and a half. It began making noise with electronic control panel beeping for no reason. The wash cycles were incredibly long. Finally after reaching the 26 month mark, the electronic panel gave out. Having no warranty, I called the repair division of the appliance store we had purchased it from. They were to charge me $90 just to come out and look at it. With the purchase price just under $500, I wasnt willing to take the chance of repair costing a third or half of the purchase price. Regretfully, we decided to give up on repair of this dishwasher. We decided to purchase a new dishwasher, but certainly not a GE.

GE Dishwasher GDF520PGJBB - GE has the worst dish washer machines you can ever buy. In fact never buy a GE dishwasher in general. Maybe, GE makes good refrigerators but not dish washers. We bought this from Home Depot and after 6 months it collapsed: Pump broken, soap dispenser broken, panel doesnt work. We had before a Maytag and we used it for over 20 years without any issues. In addition, GE has the worst customer service you can imagine. They are robots, repeat the same thing with a very annoying tone, and are not able to solve a single issue. We were even harassed by GE manager Evan or Aven, useless man, from customer relation who enjoyed seeing how much frustrated we were. This was the only GE appliance we have in our house, and after this unpleasant experience with GE will NEVER buy any GE appliance, even if it was free. GE refused to fix our machine under the pretext that its not installed on Ply Wood. We didnt install the machine ourselves but professional technicians from Home Depot and they also refuse to put PlyWood under the machine as its not a requirement. They do it every day, but looks like GE have Lazy technicians.

I have a 2011 GE Model # JES1456BJ05 microwave and it has been gently used and kept clean. Upon cleaning today I noticed that the top of the inside is blistering and peeling off. Surely this is not safe as it could fall into food, plus they should make them to stand heat, after all this is why they are made for heating things. I called GE who informed me that there is no recall on them so I am pretty much stuck to go out to buy a new one with no help from them. I now read that this has happened to people before. Lesson learned never purchase a GE microwave as they do not stand behind their products when a manufacturing problem develops if you are the first one to call, and beware and ready to buy a new one every 2-3 years. This is all they are made to last!!!!!

I have been trying since April 4th to get my GE Profile dishwasher fixed. It is July 24th as I write this review. I have had two different technicians come out. It still does not work. After the 2nd technician came out I ran my dishwasher and at 2AM realized something was wrong because it was still running. I came into the kitchen to find my entire kitchen floor flooded in boiling hot water, ruining my cabinet baseboards. I have since had two service calls canceled at the end of the time designated and today I have no technician showing up. Customer no-service is saying technician tried to call me; I have recd no call and have no message left. I have taken multiple days off work to sit at home waiting, and waiting. And this is after two already came out. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL SERVICE.

2 year old GE ADORA dishwasher - I am so disturbed tonight after seeing what happened to the protection rubber that is on the exterior of my dishwasher. I decided to buy a new dishwasher because the bottom tray would not stop when pulled out at the correct stopping point. Today I got my new dishwasher installed and when the installers pulled the old one out I was shocked to see that the protectant that I would assume was placed to protect my house was melted all over my wall behind the dishwasher. WOW. Talk about a MAJOR fire hazard. Thank God my house didnt catch on fire because of this faulty equipment. Check out my pictures and you will see the pile of protectant that was under, on my wall, and behind the dishwasher once it was pulled out. Sincerely concerned.

This machine washes glasses sparkling clean with the use of a rinse additive. I like the fact that it has a top, middle and bottom spray blade; it has a moveable silverware bucket; it is very quiet; it provides that you can wash the upper level separate from the lower level. It seems to make use of the maximum amount of space inside. The appearance is sleek and modern. During the first few washes there is a distinct heated rubber smell that emits from the machine; however, this should dissipate completely by the fourth, fifth or sixth wash.

She said No, that is the service fee. What a racket they have going on.I will not purchase another GE microwave, even though my other appliances are GE. My microwave is six years old. My GE refrigerator ice maker also stopped working after 5 1/2 years. I have had GE washing machine and dryer without no real problems after 12+ years. Our dishwasher has gotten very warm mid-cycle and now trips the breaker in the house each time we run the cycle. The problem became evident in April 2012. We have called in a GE repair person to fix it and they said it was a heating issue and not repairable. We have not used it since, but have not replaced it with a new one yet. In August, we read about the recall of a similar model number manufactured within same time frame. Our machine model is PDW7300J03WW, the recalled model is PDW7. Our machines serial # is **. Strangely, the serial number is not listed in the recall, even though symptoms are exactly the same!We have called GE Consumer Affairs at 1-800-386-1215 four times, the most recent today, 9/14/2012. Each time we call, we are left on hold for 59 minutes only to be disconnected automatically! I am sending a registered letter to GE CA with a copy of this link and intend to contact my local news if I do not receive sufficient response within the week. Does GE need to see an actual fire report from my fire department or worse in order to get their attention to replace the unit? It is disgraceful and extremely dangerous.

In early 2017, we bought all of our GE Profile appliances including the dishwasher through our builder as part of building a new home. Love the slate exterior. Love the whisper quiet of the appliance. I do NOT like the way it cleans my dishes. Most of the time, the soap isnt even distributed. The soap compartment is opened but most of the soap is still there. Ive followed the instructions on loading to ensure my dishes arent blocking the water that is supposed to spray up and help distribute soap. Even though I select the dry function, my dishes are sopping wet when the cycle is finished. We have to catch the end of cycle and crack the dishwasher open to let the steam escape in order to cut down on the wet. Even then, we still have to dry dishes to put them up. We have a water softener and have verified its working so I know thats not causing these issues. I would not recommend this dishwasher.

This GE CVM2072SM1SS Microwave (over-range model) worked fine for five year
This GE CVM2072SM1SS Microwave (over-range model) worked fine for five years. Then, we discovered the plastic film over the touchscreen starting to peel. After a bit of wrangling with Consumer Relations, they sent me a replacement touchscreen. The LCD didnt display properly, so they sent me another one. It worked for three months, then in the middle of programming to reheat some food, we got the following error message: Control Fault, Shorted touchscreen - F10. The control has detected a shorted touchscreen and has shut off the oven. It may still be possible to use the oven. However, if this message continues to appear, your oven will require service. The only way to clear the message was to unplug the unit. No amount of replugging in cleared the message. I called GE and they said they would replace the entire unit with a new model under some program they had. Sounded fine to me. I left the house. When I returned, I received a message that their representative called back to say they would not replace the unit, since the program had expired. Huh? I called again, and after a bunch more wrangling, they agreed to send a service tech out and replace whatever needed replacing or fixing at no charge. Of course, they never really made a notation of that, so when he got here, he had to get on the phone and sort it out. Finally, he replaced the touchscreen. Lets see how long it lasts this time.

I initiated a service call and the repair man replaced the seal and it has worked without leaking until April 13, 2016. AGAIN a very large amount of water poured out of the left side of the door. The repair man had to return 3 more times and finally didnt have a leak for almost another year. Now, June 1, 2017 my kitchen is once again flooded. This machine is garbage - Very expensive garbage. I have a GE over the range microwave oven purchased in 2011. 4 years old, hardly out of its service life. In 2013, while heating up my lunch, I heard a loud buzzing and popping noise. The plastic hooks that hold up a metal tray (yes, the unit comes with a metal tray) in the microwave oven caught fire. I called GE and demanded they repair the unit, they said they were not responsible since it was out of the warranty period. Having experience in the insurance industry, I reminded them about product liability, if this is a common occurrence, there would be potential liability issues for GE. The service tech said they would send someone out free of charge to repair the unit. He replaced the two hooks that fried and said they were no longer responsible for unit. Today, 01/28/15, we just had it happen again. One more hook caught fire. Hey GE, do you really think I will buy any kind of appliance from you again when you make a defective product and dont stand behind it? I will not. I would recommend people do your research carefully when buying a microwave oven, especially one from GE. I would recommend anyone do research when buying any kind of GE product since, in my opinion, they clearly do not care about their customers.

GE Model PDW9280J10SS Fire - Many GE Profile dishwashers have been recalled during the same time frame as the model we purchased, but it is not listed as one of the recall models. Just as many other complaints, ours started to smoke out of the top of the front door and filled our house with smoke. Thank God we were there to shut it off. The next day I opened up the front door to see what had been burning and it had holes burnt in front and back of the main circuit box (for lack of better name), one burn mark right where the main wire harness plugs in and burnt right through it. This is the same description many others have written. There is a problem with all of these Profile dishwashers purchased between 2006 and 2009 (ours 2007). As the weather has started to be lower and we turned off the air conditioner, the problem has come back. When the temperature rises and we put the AC on again the unit will work fine. I may be speaking too soon because I need to run my dishwasher again to make sure the minor leak truly has been fixed, but I am very impressed with the responsiveness of GE customer support. There was virtually no wait to talk to a rep about my 2-month-old dishwasher with a drip (plus water was collecting inside). Less than twenty four hours after my call, a friendly man was at my door to fully diagnose and then correct the issue. This was the cheapest, bottom-of-the line model that they so quickly came to service! Now in an ideal world, a new dishwasher wouldnt need any servicing at all, but I think all dishwashers are pretty finicky so at the moment, Im pleased.

I purchased a GE over-the-range microwave in 2008. After 3 years, the magnetron went out and the microwave stopped heating. I called GE repair, and they told me it would cost over $300 to fix - close to the cost of a new microwave. Stupidly, I bought another GE microwave in August 2011, model JVM1750DP1BB. In the one year Ive had it, it has broken 4 times. One time, it was the magnetron (seems like a common problem). Another time it was the motherboard. Another time, it was a bad wiring problem. Each time, I called the GE repair service, and it takes 1-2 weeks to get an appointment. Twice, they cancelled my appointment on the day because they overbooked. Given that I had to take time off work for the appointments, this is a huge inconvenience. I have been waiting over this last time for an appointment, after they again cancelled my scheduled appointment. GE makes a terrible product, and their repair service is a joke. I bought GE because I wanted to Buy American, but they have completely turned me off. Think twice about buying GE! You will waste lots of time and money.

We bought Cafe series appliances less than 4 years ago including dishwasher, fridge, stove and microwave. These are not cheap appliances. We also bought a service contract with them. When our dishwasher broke a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving, we called service to have it looked at. After 3 trips and over a month later the dishwasher is still not fixed. Each time we tried to make an appointment we were always given a date 1 week out and a 4 hour time window, but each time the technicians showed up late and once even 3 hours late despite the 4 hour window. The fact that after so many visits and part replacement the dishwasher is still broken says a lot about the quality of the product and its maintainability. All customer representatives work like zombies. The problem with GE lies within the culture. Nobody cares. The service contract is a total waste money.

Ive been battling this dishwasher since it arrived 9 years-ago. It was a warranty replacement we were stuck with from GE. Plus, we paid $300. We could never get it to clean dishes, no matter how we loaded it or what we used, so we gave up and hand washed dishes for years. This year, I am committed to getting the dishwasher working because of hand eczema. I took it apart and cleaned the sprayer arms, filter & wiped it down completely. I also ran a dishwasher cleaner through it. I finally got it to clean dishes, but only if they are thoroughly rinsed first and on the Pots/Pans setting. After a month, it stopped cleaning my dishes again. I took apart the dishwasher again, and cleaned everything. Now, glasses on the upper rack in the back are not all getting clean. I never overload it. Im convinced that GE Dishwashers are just junk. Someday, Id love to find a dishwasher that actually works. :-( Frustrated!!!

Their service department is absolutely terrible. The motherboard went out after only 8 months of use. They never notified the appliance repair company that the part was back ordered (I had to follow-up on that) and every step of the way I kept being told someone will follow-up in 2-3 business days. No one ever followed up with me, I had to call to check on the status of my claim EVERY time. The request for a replacement dishwasher after two weeks was denied because the part was going to be available in another week, but then I wouldnt receive the part for a minimum of another week after that. When I asked to speak to a superior she refused and told me no one was available. After demanding to speak to one I was told they would contact me in ANOTHER 2-3 business days (well see if that ever happens). This is (still going on) an absolutely awful service experience. I dont care that the dishwasher broke, I care that theyve handled it so poorly.

I purchased a GE Microwave Oven model # JES1139WL03 in late May of 2010. In early July, the paint started coming off the inside of the door when I wiped it with a damp dishcloth. I called Lowes, where I had purchased it, but was told that their warranty was only 30 days. I called GEs Consumer Support line and was told that for $65, I could ship the microwave to a repair center who would determine whether the machine could be repainted or would need to be replaced. I was told that either would require me to pay for it, since the machine still worked and peeling paint was not considered to be a warranty item. I guess if it catches fire, then they might warranty it.

No matter what it is whether it's a GE hot water heater, an iPhone, a car or a frozen TV dinner, you're going to find someone that had a bad experience. After a day of rain eight years after I put in my Home Depot GE hot water heater, the pilot was out. I don't know if it was wet in there or what but it took me 10 hours of repeated attempts and while I was searching online for answers and deals on replacing it, I kept trying. And tonight at 10:30 PM I didn't bugger about, I just held down the pilot for one minute, and then once the pilot remained lit on its own, as fast as I could I turned the thermostat to medium high and kaboom it lit up wonderfully. Maybe it dried out but I would not say that GE water heaters are a piece of Home Depot junk. As I said earlier I installed mine eight years ago and it has never had a problem and since tonight it restarted and I checked the tap and now have hot water. I suspect it will be fine but if I need a new one, eight years hasn't been a bad run. Just follow the instructions very carefully and repeat and repeat and repeat. Good luck.

I remodeled my house 5 years ago and went with the GE Profile appliances in my kitchen. Last week I had run the dish washer cycle and noticed the soap had not dissolved and the dishes didnt seem to be clean so I ran the cycle again. I started it at about 8 pm and we went to bed not thinking any more about it. About 1 am I awoke to a horrible plastic burning smell. I checked through the whole house and could not find where it was coming from until I entered the kitchen. As I entered the room my eyes started streaming from the burn. I opened the dishwasher and smoke starting bellowing out of it. Not just smoke but a toxic smoke filled the room. The inside of the dishwasher was so hot and everything plastic inside was melted. The bottom drawer and parts of the dishwasher were also melted. The silverware tray full of silverware was all melted together. This all occurred in a matter of 5 hours. Had I not woke up when I did, who knows if we would have woke up.The house was full of toxic smoke that did not trigger the smoke detectors. We just went ahead and purchased a new dishwasher and had it installed yesterday. This morning my husband decided to do a little research on this product and found there was a recall last year. I contacted GE and found that our model was not part of the recall because it has a stainless steel interior, only the plastic interiors are part of the recall. I also found out that had we called them and had them send out a certified GE technician look at it, they would replace it. Too late it has already been replaced and sent to the recycle center. I did take pictures and have record of the model and serial number which doesnt matter. I just want to get it out there that this product is also dangerous and a fire hazard. This product could have easily caused a fire in my home. I also wish I would have done more research before we replaced it. Our new dishwasher is a GE Profile...

Our new GE dishwasher is a disappointment. 1. There is water on the door after the dishes wash. 2. There is soap on the door after the dishes wash. 3. The silverware is often dirty after the dishes wash.I have observed the following: 1. The reason for the water is the silverware trays are made of plastic and do not dry. They should make them of coated wire like they used to. 2. The soap tray is often prevented from opening all the way by the silverware in the rack. They should re-design the bottom rack. 3. The silverware tray is too enclosed for good cleaning. It should be made of coated wire like they used to.

GE Stainless Steel Profile Dishwasher - My dishwasher is about 5 years old. Two years ago, we noticed that the gaskets, both around the tub and on the bottom of the door, were becoming gummy and rippling. We were hoping to make it another couple of years before buying a new dishwasher, but a couple of week ago, the top arm fell off because the gasket was so degraded. We ordered the appropriate parts and were only able to replace the top-arm gasket and the tub gasket. We had to call an authorized GE repairman, specifically RC Appliance in Sparks, NV. When he tried to get the gasket out, his hands turned black from the rubber. After about an hour of trying to get the new gasket installed, he had to use his pliers to crimp the gasket in place leaving large dents along the bottom edge of the door. He said the factory had crimped the old gasket in place at the factory from the other side. I am extremely unhappy about the workmanship and the fact that the gaskets did not last a reasonable time. I dont want to seek an attorney, but would rather GE contact me to discuss what must be done.

The dishwasher was damaged/defective and did not work; water leaked all over the floor several times and dishes wouldnt wash. They would not replace the unit but insisted that they had to service it. A couple more weeks passed and the repairman had to return thrice to finally get it to work. The microwave had a bent door that did not lineup properly when closed. Again, another repair was scheduled and we had to experience another service call. I have never had a worse experience buying appliances than I had at Pacific Sales. Kwam, the manager does not return phone calls. He made promises of helping us with a discount because of our troubles but has not kept those promises. Their contract installers are inept and unkempt. My appliances do not seem new since they were repaired and the door on the microwave is still not lined up as a new unit should be.This experience was an unmitigated disaster that should not happen to any consumer. GE Profile microwave Model: PEB7226SF1SS came as part of the builder installation. In the first year had issues with the microwave not starting intermittently and had to call GE support who sent in a technician who had to work on the door alignment and the switch was the problem which said to have fixed. About 2.5 year from purchase the heating seemed to be irregular which we did not take much notice and then it stopped working completely. We called GE support and did get the usual routine of the product being out of warranty and have to pay for the technician. While scheduling they realized they did not have a their own service person in the vicinity and was advised to reach out to local service person.Local technician diagnosed that the magnetron has gone bad and advised most manufacturers have 10 years warranty on the magnetron as they are supposed to last for a long time and I should reach out to GE. Having reached out to GE support again to our surprise were advised that unlike most manufacturers this product did not have 10 year magnetron warranty. Customer service, part service and customer relations kept redirecting to each other. GE does not provide an option to sell the replacement magnetron to the customer and now want their authorized center to be engaged and paid again to have the part ordered and installed. Disappointed with GE product quality, their stand on warranty compared to their competition and their service which has given me run around and no solution. I have written to them asking for solution which they havent responded yet.

GE cafe dishwasher, model CDT725SSFOSS - Bought new home December 16, 2014.
GE cafe dishwasher, model CDT725SSFOSS - Bought new home December 16, 2014. Dishwasher worked well for a short period of time. Six months into ownership the unit began to leak and was quickly and efficiently repaired while under warranty. 10 months into warranty, the dishwasher began to rumble very loudly during every drain cycle, to the point where it sounded like it was going to walk out of the kitchen. Warranty tech showed up and had to order parts. Not sure which pump to replace he ordered both. Tech returns 10 days later and replaces both pumps. He turns power back on and the entire unit is dead electrically. Nothing works, pumps, motors, keypad, nada! Repair keypad was ordered along with a new wiring harness, just in case it was the source of the problem.2 weeks later, and one week before warranty expires, the repairman shows up and replaces the keypad and wiring harness. Yippie skippie, everything works but the tech is still confused, telling me the keypad lights should turn off at the end of the cleaning cycle, he could never make that happen. He completes his repairs on December 23. The unit performs flawlessly for 3 complete cycles, except the lights on the keypad never turn off at the end of the cleaning cycles.Sometime during the week of January 11-17 (while I was traveling) the unit dies again. Completely inoperable electrically. Follow up call with GE warranty service and the entire focus is on the fact that the warranty has expired. I keep pressing and the warranty person finally admits that service parts should carry a 30 day warranty. Service tech arrives and tells me he has to order parts. Keypad has been back ordered and I have no idea when it will show up.Totally unreliable expensive piece of junk. I can only imagine what the future holds. This experience seems to mimic Jack Welchs business philosophy to a tee - maximize profit and return to the shareholders while minimizing production costs and ignoring the customer needs completely. Highly recommend that you run any direction except towards purchasing any GE appliance, especially the Cafe series. Dishwasher. Nonexistent quality controls, no parts available, disappointing performance, extremely high price, P.O.S! DO NOT PURCHASE GE APPLIANCES. Negative Stars rating is what I would give this product. Without inspecting the dishwasher but looking at his computer with the list of things that could be wrong, he said he ordered two parts and would return on Nov 23. Nov 23 came and no repairman. Calls were placed to GE Parts and Service who expressed their disappointment over the no show then proceeded to say that parts would not arrive before Nov 30 and that one of the parts was on back order. We had a GE dishwasher installed by the builder when the house we live in was built and it was one of the ones which were recalled as a fire hazard. We didnt really have any issues with it though, other than it was a bit noisy. With the credit offered, we decided to upgrade to a high end Profile model. The sound proofing is impressive and it was actually hard to tell the unit was on, but that is the only thing you can say that is good about the machine. As a dishwasher, it fails miserably and often items come out dirtier than when they went in. OK, weve struggled on with that for some time now but today, a nasty burnt plastic smell brought us both to the kitchen to investigate. Sure enough, the replacement for the fire hazard was the culprit. Obviously, it will need some serious repairs before it is safe to use once more. Looking through this and other sites, it seems this problem is rife and GE is reluctant to deal with the issues. Well I think that will be our last GE appliance. Thank you very much and rather than throw good money after bad, we will put the repair costs towards another machine ABGE.

We purchased a new home in 2014 with all new GE appliances. The dishwasher has never cleaned the dishes. I have to wash the dishes before I load them in the dishwasher. I might as well use the dishwasher as a drying rack. We had a service person come out before the warranty expired. We have used all of the proper cleaning recommendations and setting per the service person. Not even 2 years later, the dishwasher started leaking and ruining our hardwoods. The dishwasher was quiet but then started making a horrible noise and a burning smell emanated when door was opened. Unfortunately all of our kitchen appliances are GE. If we replace any of the appliances, they will not be GE. I will also be getting in touch with the builder of our home to let them know that GE appliances are not reliable. GE needs to recall this dishwasher.

Not a very good job at cleaning, plus takes over two hours to run. It has a steam function, to help clean grease off of dishes, and should be used for simple cleaning too. Although the instructions state it can hold settings of 8, we have never been able to use more than 4 before it is packed. The utensil holders are almost useless. It has nice lighting for controls and a clean front. The installations instructions are not very good. They also did not include an elbow to connect to the water supply, which the hardware store manager said is standard connection, so GE just wanted to save $4.00 and piss off the customers instead.

GE Dishwaser Model # GDT580SMF2ES - My husband and I purchased an entire suite of GE Slate appliances in 2015 when we built our custom home. We purchased the refrigerator, glass-top range, range hood microwave, and dishwasher. We have experienced problems with the refrigerator Model # GFE28HMHCES twice. A horrible rumbling sound, which they came out and repaired promptly. However, more upsetting is the constant problems we have experienced with the dishwasher. The door gasket broke, which we were informed was not covered under warranty, and most recently the dishwasher stop cleaning and will no longer dry. We have done everything to rectify or repair the situation ourselves, and since it is no longer under warranty, we are left with an appliance that we either spend more money on to repair or toss and buy a new one. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE BUY GE!

I bought a microwave Model JVM316RF3SS on 6/12/16 from Best Buy. Here is the serial number GG242212A. This thing is tripping the circuit breaker, it is intermittent. I had been buying GE for the house because the stuff would last or they would stand behind their products. Looks like times have changed, I called yesterday to the customer service and the only thing I was offered was a song and dance. If you are to consider buying a GE product, think about it again. This microwave is only a year and a half, to have a tech service guy come out and look at it, it is was priced out at $97-108 for a visit and then parts and time will be added in additional to this visit price. They have priced this repair out to be cheaper to just replace it. My washer is making excessive pump motor bearing noise during the high spin cycle, this is two years old. Looks like GE is building crap. My background is a mechanical technician for over thirty years, building products that are to be used in the household should be built to last not become a disposable item like a cigarette lighter. Good job GE for joining the other substandard products being built. Must be outsourcing this to a foreign country like everything else. With the model and serial number GE you can call me if you have ANY questions.

I was sitting on my couch and I heard something running. I walked into the kitchen and saw my GE Profile microwave was running. At first I doubted myself and thought maybe I did something and then I cleared it out and went and sat back down. It did it again and again several more time. This is very scary. It was running like someone had set it and it was getting hot inside. Im not sure what else to do. The last time I had the same type of problem and just bought a replacement microwave and now this one is doing the same.

I bought a GE Profile dishwasher 3 years ago. After two weeks it was broken. I called Mabe Appliances and they sent out a tech. He told me it was broken. When I called Mabe back the service people told me to read the manual...yes really. Finally after a lot arguing they replaced it. About a day after the 1 year warranty expired all but one of the cycles stopped working. I have to take it apart every 3 months to clean out the water output as its clogged and the water doesnt have any pressure and therefore does not clean the dishes. I got up this morning and the dishwasher was still running but there were no lights on the front of the unit. I turned it on around 8pm so it was running for 11 hours. When I opened the door it was apparent it had been stuck in the wash cycle the whole time. It is now completely dead. Nothing works. No lights. WHAT a piece of JUNK. How can GE put their name this crap? STAY AWAY FROM GE APPLIANCES. Spend a little more and get a Samsung or LG or Bosch.

28 Inch Front Load Washer with 4.9 cu. ft. Capacity, 13 Wash Cycles, 1250 RPM, Steam Cycle, Steam Assist, Time Saver Option, Sanitize Cycle, Energy Star in White. Overall this machine is top of the line. Purchasing a home appliance is like purchasing a vehicle. I took my time and reviewed and compared before purchasing. About 3 months. I had just purchased a home and so you want an appliance that is going to last. It has a 10 year warranty. It has 3 color options. It's cosmetically attractive. It also is elevated which is a smart choice for a basement machine in case you have issues with water in your basement.

The side panel of our built-in GE Profile microwave 1999 caught on fire when my daughter was using it. It had a faint glow behind the metal plate. Then, it became flames quite quickly. A flash and pop was the ultimate end before we turned it off during the test. It had been working fine until the fire. This is a definite safety issue. Now that I know the microwaves have been faulty, it makes me concerned about the GE Profile electric stovetop burner. I have noticed it gets extremely hot and doesnt seem to want to turn off!

It is very quiet and does an excellent job cleaning. I really like the new slate finish on the front panel. It has a stainless effect but does not show marks as well as SS and is very easy to clean. Great design, the top rack is adjustable and the use of internal space was well thought out. Very simple / uncluttered and I like the control mounted on the top door feature. Dont recall the model number. The washer was in the $650 price range which is sort of in the middle but has a SS tub. In my opinion the performance and features are no less than more expensive brands / models.

My GE refrigerator is almost 30 years old. It's not a frost-free refrigerator, but frost build-up has not been a big problem. I usually defrost it twice a year. I have had no problems with it over the years, other than the light bulb burning out. I would certainly buy a GE refrigerator again.

Does not clean well nor dry well even on the more powerful cycles. I rinse off all the food and if anything is accidentally missed, it just gets baked on. Very disappointing. Also much of the upper rack item remain very wet at the end of the cycle. Drying issues: I use the most powerful drying cycle option but contents remain wet at the end of the cycle, especially plastics and top rack utensils. Not just damp, but large drops of water remain. Cleaning issues: Even when I use the heavy cycle, unless I remove all traces of food from the contents, the food remains and worse, now baked on. This model has a sanitized cycle so basically I use this dishwasher to sanitize only rather than clean, dry and sanitize. Completely unacceptable.

I work as a service tech for a major insurance company. I am a master tech, and master electrician. The company that I work for owns an apartment complex which is used to house company executives whose offices are located at other sites, but often come to the Chattanooga Site to work short term. I was called to repair an old dishwasher in one of the apartments. Upon looking at the existing dishwasher, I decided to replace with a new one. I received a new GE model GDF 510 PGD 1WW dishwasher on November 8, 2013. As usual I unpackaged the appliance and examined the exterior. Finding no visible damage, and with the help of a master plumber, I removed the old dishwasher, and installed the new one. After all the connections were made, I opened the door, removed all the packaging from the dishwasher, and found the upper spray arm lying in disarray in the bottom of the machine. Assuming that this was the way that the machine was packaged, I installed the spray arm, plugged the machine up and started the machine as the operations manual instructed. The machine would not work. The power lamp would burn solid for a few seconds and start flashing. I tried to start the machine a number of times while reading the instructions, and while my partner read the instructions aloud, but with no results. Finally, I used a screwdriver to hold the door switch closed, pressed the start button and the unit started. The catch mounted on the door would not make the door switch, mounted on the machine body. We tried to adjust the switch and the catch, but with no success. The dishwasher did not show any signs of exterior shipping damage, but for some reason the upper spray arm was off and lying in the bottom of the unit, I found a small piece of broken plastic and a screw in the bottom of the machine, and the door switch would not make. Outside that I have no complaints. I am not sure where this machine was assembled, but it certainly was not equal to the machine that we removed. Thanks GE for making my job harder. I will have to find another dishwasher Monday and replace the damaged one, and perhaps send this one back, but the replacement will certainly be another brand.

My GE Profile Spacesaver XL 1800 microwaves megatron went out. It is still under warranty, but GE refuses to send me the new megatron because they demand that their service company needs to install it. Estimate is $300 for installation. I had a local appliance repair shop look at it and they will install for $80. GE refuses to ship to them or me and state that their legal department has restricted sending to the customer or unauthorized repair shops. So I am being blackmailed for $300 in order to get the megatron replaced under warranty.
