The dishwasher has had a long life and other than some of the inner pieces breaking, of which we have had to order parts and fix, It has been a good washer. The top rack has tons of room and it has the Stemware rack which is really nice. I wish it had a larger rack for silverware, which fills up fast. I like that can Open and add without having to reset. I LOVE the Simplicity of the Selections.

I bought a whole line of GE Monogram appliances for our home in late 2005. These appliances are not even seven years old and I have had the side-by-side fridge repaired several times with no true fix to the problem. They charged me to repair the tank in the fridge that the water line leads out from and into the freezer door. Another repair man said that was never the problem and that the seal on the freezer door is broken from inside the door (a common problem) and freezes up the water line, so no filtered water comes out. They wanted to charge me $800 for a new door with no guarantee that it won’t happen again! My cook-top downdraft has shorted out three times because of a faulty design issue. Water and moisture can get up under the switch, which shorts it out. There were three different repairs for the same issue. Last time the same service man repaired the problem and he was so careless. He got silicone all over the granite counters and switch, which he didnt check before leaving! I called him back to my house before he even got out of the neighborhood. Ultimately, he admitted he screwed up and ordered me yet another switch. Now, just today, my Monogram dishwasher started billowing black smoke. I called GE to find that the unit has been recalled for electrical shock and fires. They said I could have it repaired (if the service man deems it repairable) or it’s $400 towards a new unit. Is this company for real? How many consumers do they have to lose before they wake up? If I werent home my house could have burnt to the ground or, worse, one of our kids or us could have been severely hurt or worse. Do they not realize the liability they would have at that point if the worst would have happened? And they have two phone numbers and my address on file. Why on earth would they not contact me to tell me of the recall? Are they holding their breath and crossing their fingers that nothing too bad will happen? I have a Whirlpool fridge/freezer that is 18 years old and in my garage; nevertheless, it has never given me an ounce of trouble. I will never buy another GE appliance again and will tell anyone I know the same, including the several new home builders I work with. There are too many other companies out there that will back up their quality products. I have called into GE on my latest problems. And if I dont get satisfaction (i.e., brand new units), I have no issues contacting the attorney general. There are forms online that can be downloaded so a formal complaint can be filed. I urge anyone else to do the same.

Sometime in the 1970s, my mother bought all new GE appliances; a refrigerator, a kitchen range-microwave combo and a dishwasher. After her death my husband and I moved into her house and continued to use these appliances until 2007. The refrigerator and dishwasher are still going strong as of now... October 2014. The refrigerator only needed the drainage line cleaned. The range began to have some electrical shortage problems and rather than try to repair (which is what we should have done with both appliances), we decided to replace the refrigerator and range/microwave. We bought new GE appliances; a GE refrigerator (my brother put the old one in his shop), GE microwave and GE range. The new refrigerators icemaker would not work property when we got it and the microwave (Model #JVM2070SK02) quit early this year (big difference in the old microwave at 30 some years use and my new one at only 7 years use). Because my husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor and I was the only caretaker, I was not able to address the malfunctioning icemaker immediately. In fact, because of my husbands hospitalization, I wasnt even at home during that year enough to use the icemaker. WOW! What a ripoff GE is selling to consumers. My complaints wont solve my problems nor the problems experienced by other people who bought these defective appliances but it helps to vent my anger. Just recently a small leak in the waste-water drain hose (easy to replace) sent me scurrying to find a new dishwasher but when considering the replacement of my 1970s dishwasher and the reliability of my newer appliances, I decided that my 1970s dishwasher will outlast anything I could replace it with. So I decided to replace the waste-water drain hose myself. What a sad appliance market we have in the US when buyers have to replace newly purchased appliances anywhere from a few days to a few short years after purchase. I think appliance companies intentionally produce inferior, unfixable products so consumers will replace their inferior ones with new inferior models thus keeping up sales. Do we have a choice? I lived before dishwashers and microwaves and I can live without either now. I would prefer not to go back to wood cook-stove and an icebox but I may not have a choice (I actually have an icebox if needed). Is there any way to hold companies responsible for the products they produce? If anyone out there has had longevity of 10 years or more use from a newer appliance line, that is appliances made since 2000... Please share the producers name with rest of us. GE isnt what it used to be and neither are many other US brand name appliances.

I bought this Microwave JVM3160 on December 2016, after six month the handle door broke but it was replaced as part of the warranty. By January 2018 (no more Warranty) it began tripping the circuit breaker. I change the power source for a dedicate circuit only for the microwave 20 AMP. The microwave blew its own fuse. I replaced its fuse. Then it blew the 20 AMP circuit breaker. That was enough. This microwave went to the garbage after 1 year and 2 month of use.

I purchased a this GE Model CDT845P2NS1 on Oct 2, 2019 and the unit was received Oct 23, 2019. I installed the unit approx. 4 days after receipt and dishwasher functioned well until November 10th, 2020 when the unit failed to pump out the water. I contacted GE Service (MabeService) and was advised that the unit was not under warranty and as such I should contact a GE Canada authorized service centre. After several attempts to get someone to come to our location at Sharbot Lake we got hold of Capital Appliance Repair in Ottawa. They were not able to send a technician until November 18th. After diagnosing the problem the technician advised we needed a main control board and would have to order one and then come back to do the install of the control board. It is now February 21st 3 months after the visit and I’m being told that the part is backordered and they have no idea when it will become available. I’m extremely unhappy when you spend over $7,000.00 for a GE CAFÉ gas stove, Microwave, Refrigerator and dishwasher to find out you cannot get parts in a timely manner. As a customer of GE Canada I have had no help is solving my problem. It is not acceptable to have a 1 year old dishwasher that has failed, much less waiting for repair that has taken over 90 days to get repaired. DO NOT BUY!

I purchased the model (PEM31SM1SS) GE Profile (Spacesaver oven) in November of 2008. Less than a year later, it overheated and failed. Since it was still under warranty, the repair was managed by the appliance vendor. The scorch mark on the rear wall of the oven was and is still there. During the past year, the paint on the interior roof began to bubble and peel. There is now a broad area of exposed metal and the paint around the interior door frame is also peeling. When I returned to my vendor, I was informed that several other customers had the same issue and was told to call GE. I also checked online and found many other complaints for the same thing. When contacted, GE offered me a $75 rebate voucher, applicable only if I buy another GE microwave. The current price for this model - the only one anywhere that fits the space - is $279. Even with the voucher, this is still a lot to pay for a product that has proved to be defective. GE does not appear to stand behind its products. It used to be a reliable company but given the issues Ive had with both this microwave and my expensive dishwasher, I will be looking elsewhere in the future.

Unit is only 7 years old and not greatly used (only two adults who dont use it much)… Purchased as part of package including GE refrigerator, range and dishwasher (already got rid of refrigerator, as parts kept breaking and unit had other chronic problems). I turned the microwave on to make popcorn - it immediately made a terrible noise and filled with smoke with an electrical smell. Unplugged the unit and contacted GE Repair. When I described what happened, I was transferred immediately to their safety unit because of the nature of the problem. A GE technician arrived today and almost immediately diagnosed the problem: a metal component that directs the waves of the microwave generation tube had burned out, and by federal regulation, he claimed, cannot be repaired - the whole appliance must be trashed and replaced. Once again, I have experienced GEs poorly engineered products that appear to be designed to fail in a relatively short time. Can you spell planned obsolescence? (No photo provided, as there is no external visual damage).

I purchased the stove in 1996 but only used the auto oven cleaner a few times. The model # is jsp40 and serial # TR244121R. If I had not been home my house would have burned. Have used GE dishwashers before - were good. However GE no longer makes them, its just a name - now made by MABE (part of HAIER), Mexican with Chinese ownership, and this new one arrived with a factory fault - cracked tub which leaked immediately. Cracked tub seam and leak found immediately by service tech GEs site referred. Good news is the leak detector worked! Bad news - is we didnt install it right away (old one still worked and pandemic...) so it was a year before we got to it (was partly a gift). So - now MFR Mabe is giving us the run around and so far not doing anything about the faulty dishwasher they mfd and shipped through Home Depot. Dont be fooled as we were - GE is not actually GE anymore and the mfr HAIER/MABE are doing nothing to correct a factory mfg fault.

GE is a very reliable name brand with history to back it up. I’ve used their washing machines for years and only changed out once due to newer features. I had Thebes first washer for at least 10 years, maybe a little more. It only needed one part replaced, that was the capacitor, otherwise it was still usable. I am not an in depth handy person but I will read and do my research and found directions doable. Additionally, I found the service help desk very informative and that’s how I discovered it was the capacitor that had gone bad after washing clothes for so many years, and believe me, I did a lot of cycles with my kids and family. I feel I got more than my money's worth. Lastly, I’m still using their products to this day. I may not have the frequency because we are empty nesters but I still believe in their products,

I just found the site for the review on 5/17. Ive had two GE Cafe microwaves model CVM2072SM3SS purchased at the same time for the two kitchens in the house. The microwave in the in-law suite lasted one year and I replaced it with a very economical one which has been fine for 3 years. The electrician could not repair it. The microwave in the main kitchen is 5 years old but it stopped working (same issue of frozen panel) after 4 years. In Nov. 2016, during Thanksgiving weekend, it froze and stopped working. I looked on YouTube and we cleaned the terminals in the panel using alcohol. That worked for 2 months. When it stopped again I tried the same remedy but it did not work. The panel lights up, but it will not respond to any commands. After 7 months of it being inoperable, I decided to either fix or replace it (while using a way cheaper GE from a friend). This is an abysmally poorly engineered VERY expensive microwave. The LED panel is a disgrace! Do not buy CAFE microwaves. Im out $1500+ (for two) plus the replacements, the aggravation, the ugly looking counter with the loaner from my friend. I am ready to bite the bullet and buy a microwave that fits the style of my kitchen. It wont be a CAFE! Although it is a set... Enough is enough. I give up.

The first GE microwave never worked right out of the box. I took it to school and let my Physics students (I am a science teacher) tear it apart and find the trouble. The magnetron was broken. Since it could possibly have happened bringing it home, I decided to let it go and went and bought a new one. This one is less than a year old and has the very scary habit of coming on by itself. When I go in there, it says it is defrosting, or beverage, or any number of reasons. Tonight, I will unplug it, chunk it, and go buy another microwave. One can bet that I will never buy another GE product.

We purchased our new GE Over-the-Range Microwave (model HVM1750DPWW, 1.7 cu. ft.) for $269.00 in February of 2012 and in August of 2013 it started to malfunction. Specifically the microwave would start on its own whenever we would OPEN the door. Now the microwave does not work at all (with the door closed or open). Based on the feedback that I have read in some of the posts on this site, I will replace the microwave since the maker can no longer be trusted to manufacture units that are robust and safe. But what manufacturer can be trusted at this point? It is my understanding that all microwaves (from all major companies) are currently made overseas with poor materials and highly suspect safety and quality standards. It has a spacious interior and a large turntable. Our $599 GE dishwasher of 3 years is literally falling apart. We have a GE Slate Colored Stainless Steel Interior Dishwasher (GDT580SMFES) and over the past two weeks, the water stopped heating and 2 seals in the dishwasher started disintegrating. If you touch the seals (the main gasket at the bottom of the dishwasher and the main seal that keeps water from leaking outside of the dishwasher), parts of the seals come off on your fingers. We bought our dishwasher through Lowes with the extended protection plan and were having a hell of a time getting it fixed... Every time we call to make an appointment, its a minimum of 15 minutes on hold and it takes FOREVER for the new part to arrive/get the new part installed (almost 3 weeks now). So disappointed in our appliance and in Lowes for selling us such a lousy extended warranty. Never again!

I was very impressed by the look of the GE over-the-range microwave oven but my impressed state faded not too long after I began using the oven. My typical usage ranges from heating something for 20 seconds to soups for three to four minutes. Within the first month of purchase, the paint on the floor of the oven was peeling off, exposing the metal color. I was only wiping/drying out the oven with a soft cloth, never using an abrasive product or cloth, so the peeling paint was only due to moisture. I have now owned the oven for just over 14 months and not only is the floor nearly completely devoid of the white painted surface but I just had a quick fire when thawing frozen onion chips for 10 seconds. My previous, much less expensive microwave lasted nearly 7 years, so its a shame that a supposedly better model cannot match the longevity of the GE model. I called GE and they said they cant send a magnetron through the mail as it is dangerous. Well then, how do other companies sell a magnetron via their websites? They are full of it and I got the same issue, $59 for part and $89 for service call, and another charge for labor. What the....... I asked, Isnt the $89 the labor? She said No, that is the service fee. What a racket they have going on.I will not purchase another GE microwave, even though my other appliances are GE. My microwave is six years old. My GE refrigerator ice maker also stopped working after 5 1/2 years. I have had GE washing machine and dryer without no real problems after 12+ years. Maybe GE needs a class action lawsuit to shape them up??? Anybody up for it???

I recently purchased a GD720SGF2WW Serial #HD744674B GE dishwasher. From the moment I tried to use it there was a leak from the bottom of the door. I called for service and when they came the repair man said the door was leaking and there was a repair kit for it so it must be a weak spot in this particular dishwasher, which by the way was not a cheap model and was stainless steel lined. I waited a month for further service and when he finally came he realized he had mistakenly diagnosed the problem and it was a crack in the lining of the door which had gradually gotten bigger as I waited for service. So this NEW dishwasher had been leaking onto my newly installed hardwood floor. By this time I had no faith whatsoever in this dishwasher and said I wanted a replacement. I was called back and told that they would only repair it, which I have been trying to do since NOVEMBER and it is now Jan 21! I will no longer buy GE products and when I called customer service I was on hold for 20 min and finally hung up which Im sure was their intent.

Microwave Model JVM1750DP2bb defective construction- Plastic is protruding inside the Oven. Took possession of a new home in January 2014, but only occupied part time. I estimate we had the equivalent of 6 months being occupied. In January 2017 the magnetron broke down, at which time I noticed a piece of plastics protruding inside the microwave through a vent hole on the Magnetron side. I did not take the extended warranty and GE only offered to send a repair man. Since this is an over the stove model venting outside, it had to be repaired or replaced. Checked with the supplier and they estimated a minimum of $ 300 repair cost. Home Depot had model JVM6175DKBB on sale for 249.00, and with delivery, and installation, were talking $ 350.00 to $400.00 to replace. I got in touch with GE Consumer Affairs, and they did eventually agree to provide the JVM6175DKBB for $ 270.00 including installation. They will take possession of the old model, so there wont be any way for me to confirm or deny a manufacturing defect.

We bought a brand new GE dishwasher from our local hardware store on Black Friday. It was $600 dishwasher on sale. It was installed on December 5th, it broke on December 6th, and we had a repair man come out to take a look at it. To be fair, the local hardware store did ask if we wanted to replace (2 week wait time) or repair (2 day wait time) it. Since it was a bolt that was severed (by opening the door to the machine, mind you), we figured it would be an easy fix. The first technician who visited said, Yeah, its broken. I have to order a new bolt and then come back out in a week to fix it. And oh, by the way, Ill have to drill a new hole for it too. Thats when I called GE customer service to request a new product. But since my 48 hour window had passed, and we opted to have it fixed, it was keep it or ask our local hardware store to replace it at their expense. I bit the bullet and just had it repaired. Now, less than 2 months later, the technician has been at our house three times. He’s soon to have a fourth visit because we need a new dispense modulator. After speaking with customer service several more times, and with a not very nice lady in the Chairmans office, I still have a defective product. Oh, did I mention that Im paid hourly and have now taken off 13 hours? So what’s the use of that $600 dishwasher that we bought? Its been out of commission for more than 2 weeks, in less than 2 months, and has now cost us $900. Thanks, GE! We’re so glad to see you stand behind your product.

JCPenney is not standing by their merchandise because I did not buy an extended warranty. Originally purchased in November 2017. The machine was replaced by GE in December 2017. The arching of the metal rack caused smoldering in the microwave. I prepared a baked potato in the microwave. I smelled something burning. I assumed the potato was burning. I removed it, used the microwave again and smelled the burning again. Upon close examination, I removed the rake and that is where the burning and smoke is. The plastic hook/holder was melted and the side of the microwave was charred. I called GE and they said I should not have been using the rack with such a small amount of food. I have used this microwave almost daily for years - I never knew this. They said its safe. I dont believe it is. They told me to call repair. Im not satisfied.

Negative 5 stars. I purchased a GE over the range microwave oven, JVM2052SN1SS, just over a year ago and had a service call to address a lack of exhaust about a month after my purchase. In summary, the tech said it would not function as a dedicated exhaust hood and nothing can be done. 14 months later, the key pad began malfunctioning. Also, the moisture sensor that the operation manual stated will automatically start the exhaust fan, never worked and every time we cook, moisture would build up between the glass on the microwave door.I called GE Consumer Relation today and they will not address this issue free of charge. I will not purchase another GE product because GE dont stand behind their products.

Slightly more than one year, I purchased a model GLD4404RCC dishwasher about which I have made complaints in the past, concerning poor washing performance and which you chose to ignore beyond attempting to tell me how to use it. Now, this Chinese-made piece of junk has begun to give different problems. Upon completion of the wash cycle, it starts to make a lot of noise and will not shut down. I must do this manually. Guess what? It has waited less than two weeks after the purchase date to do this, meaning it is out of warranty. We have just purchased a new home and will be needing new appliances such as dishwasher, refrigerator, washer and dryer, and a water heater. It will not be GE. I shall never purchase any more of GE products as the whole company stinks.

We purchased a new home in 2014 with all new GE appliances. The dishwasher has never cleaned the dishes. I have to wash the dishes before I load them in the dishwasher. I might as well use the dishwasher as a drying rack. We had a service person come out before the warranty expired. We have used all of the proper cleaning recommendations and setting per the service person. Not even 2 years later, the dishwasher started leaking and ruining our hardwoods. The dishwasher was quiet but then started making a horrible noise and a burning smell emanated when door was opened. Unfortunately all of our kitchen appliances are GE. If we replace any of the appliances, they will not be GE. I will also be getting in touch with the builder of our home to let them know that GE appliances are not reliable. I work as a service tech for a major insurance company. I am a master tech, and master electrician. The company that I work for owns an apartment complex which is used to house company executives whose offices are located at other sites, but often come to the Chattanooga Site to work short term. I was called to repair an old dishwasher in one of the apartments. Upon looking at the existing dishwasher, I decided to replace with a new one. I received a new GE model GDF 510 PGD 1WW dishwasher on November 8, 2013. As usual I unpackaged the appliance and examined the exterior. Finding no visible damage, and with the help of a master plumber, I removed the old dishwasher, and installed the new one. After all the connections were made, I opened the door, removed all the packaging from the dishwasher, and found the upper spray arm lying in disarray in the bottom of the machine. Assuming that this was the way that the machine was packaged, I installed the spray arm, plugged the machine up and started the machine as the operations manual instructed. The machine would not work. The power lamp would burn solid for a few seconds and start flashing. I tried to start the machine a number of times while reading the instructions, and while my partner read the instructions aloud, but with no results. Finally, I used a screwdriver to hold the door switch closed, pressed the start button and the unit started. The catch mounted on the door would not make the door switch, mounted on the machine body. We tried to adjust the switch and the catch, but with no success. The dishwasher did not show any signs of exterior shipping damage, but for some reason the upper spray arm was off and lying in the bottom of the unit, I found a small piece of broken plastic and a screw in the bottom of the machine, and the door switch would not make. Outside that I have no complaints. I am not sure where this machine was assembled, but it certainly was not equal to the machine that we removed. Thanks GE for making my job harder. I will have to find another dishwasher Monday and replace the damaged one, and perhaps send this one back, but the replacement will certainly be another brand.

I have a GE over the range microwave oven purchased in 2011. 4 years old, hardly out of its service life. In 2013, while heating up my lunch, I heard a loud buzzing and popping noise. The plastic hooks that hold up a metal tray (yes, the unit comes with a metal tray) in the microwave oven caught fire. I called GE and demanded they repair the unit, they said they were not responsible since it was out of the warranty period. Having experience in the insurance industry, I reminded them about product liability, if this is a common occurrence, there would be potential liability issues for GE. The service tech said they would send someone out free of charge to repair the unit. He replaced the two hooks that fried and said they were no longer responsible for unit. Today, 01/28/15, we just had it happen again. One more hook caught fire. Hey GE, do you really think I will buy any kind of appliance from you again when you make a defective product and dont stand behind it? I will not. I would recommend people do your research carefully when buying a microwave oven, especially one from GE. I would recommend anyone do research when buying any kind of GE product since, in my opinion, they clearly do not care about their customers.

My husband and I enjoyed our 1980s White GE Microwave and Stove/oven. But, after 15-20 years with the same appliances, we finally saved up for upgrades and purchased a new Stainless Steel (mid-range priced) GE Microwave and stove/Oven. I cannot begin to describe our disappointment. The Microwave is above our Stove/oven. Our old microwave had two powerful lights underneath it - one on each side. This microwave provides one small, weak light that does no good any time of day. Why would GE go from two great lights to one middle useless one? Also, the faint white numbers on the front keypad of the microwave are barely visible during the day - forget about seeing this when the light is not perfect. I foolishly assumed these numbers would be backlit on a black background. Onto the Stove/oven. The temperature is not accurate but that is something we can deal with. After the oven is pre-heated, the assigned temperature stays on the display pad - NOT the actual time. Who cares about the temperature you set the oven to - dont we all need to know when to check or take out our food? Our last oven always showed the time. We did not join the Stainless Steel bandwagon 10-15 years ago when others did - which we thought would be good for GE to get some kinks out. I Guess we should have waited 10 more. Proper lighting on your Microwave and The time on your stove/oven while cooking are not too much to ask for when we just dropped at least 2-thousand dollars!!!!!

GE Microwave Model WES1450DN1BB 1.4 Cubic Ft 1100 Watt - This product is absolute garbage! This product was manufactured in June 2010 and I purchased it in approximately in May of 2011. So after 13 months of moderate use, the unit no longer functions properly. Needless to say, the product is out of warranty by about a month, so I pretty much now have nothing more than an overweight paperweight.I wont bore you with all the details, but for the most part, the touch pad stopped working and if left plugged in, the microwave will start on its own and run for up to a minute before beeping incessantly. If I unplug the unit and plug it back in, Ill receive a different error message, and so on. I wont waste my time contacting GE, because from what I hear, they really dont give a damn! When I was young, you could by an American-made product and expect it to last for many years. However, ever since greedy corporate America decided to ship all our jobs overseas in the name of profits, I have yet to find any imported products that are worth a damn. Instead of one good American product that would last a lifetime, I now have to purchase the same imported piece of ** many times over to get the same longevity. Maybe this is what GE wants?Needless to say, GE has now been placed on my Do Not Buy list. I guess I will now buy from another major manufacturer to see if their foreign-made garbage is any better!

We remodeled our kitchen three years ago and purchased three GE cafe products: the dishwasher, microwave, and stove. The stove has been wonderful, no problems. The microwave was defective when we purchased but was easily repaired by the install of a new circuit board (I believe that is what it was called). Anyhow, no problems since. The dishwasher has been a big disappointment (it too needed a new circuit board) in regards to its performance. Dishes come out looking horrible as if there is still soap on them! I tried different types of soaps, the liquid, tabs, and rinse aids. Nothing seemed to work! I finally gave up on the liquid and my husband cleaned out the liquid dispenser completely and I only used the tabs as the results seemed to be a bit better. I regretted trashing our 15+ year old dishwasher that worked wonderfully! I am giving my review three stars because my coworker suggested I try a product called Lemi Shine (you can purchase at Target). I was not hopeful but it was the answer to my dishwasher prayers! It is incredible and I have used it for a few months now and have no complaints about my dishwasher’s performance. I use only the tab dispenser (Finish Powerball) and then I sprinkle Lemi Shine around the tab and my dishes are clean with NO residue! As an added bonus, the inside of the dishwasher is spic and span too! I guess I didnt notice how filmy and cloudy it had become. Try Lemi Shine and I hope it works for all of you too!

I purchased a GE over-the-range microwave in 2008. After 3 years, the magnetron went out and the microwave stopped heating. I called GE repair, and they told me it would cost over $300 to fix - close to the cost of a new microwave. Stupidly, I bought another GE microwave in August 2011, model JVM1750DP1BB. In the one year Ive had it, it has broken 4 times. One time, it was the magnetron (seems like a common problem). Another time it was the motherboard. Another time, it was a bad wiring problem. Each time, I called the GE repair service, and it takes 1-2 weeks to get an appointment. Twice, they cancelled my appointment on the day because they overbooked. Given that I had to take time off work for the appointments, this is a huge inconvenience. I have been waiting over this last time for an appointment, after they again cancelled my scheduled appointment. GE makes a terrible product, and their repair service is a joke. I bought a dishwasher 2 1/2 years ago, along with GE fridge, microwave, convection oven for my remodeled kitchen. It was less than a year old, when the dishwasher control board went. GE fixed it for no charge, as it was under warranty. They sent the part, and the repairman was great. A little over a year later, the same thing happened. It is no longer under warranty. I spoke with a supervisor about this. This dishwasher was just over 2 years old, and again, the same thing happened. They were very nice, and sent a man over, after sending the same part in the mail, and again, he was very nice, and I was called to see if everything was to my satisfaction, and it was. I was not charged. It is now a few months later, and the machine will not begin the cycle. The lights are on, blink several times, then finally go off altogether. I did the troubleshooting suggestions, including turning it off via the circuit breaker to reboot, and still nothing. I am so angry. This is a relatively new machine. I am so disgusted that I will never buy another GE appliance, and strangely, I have stock in the company. Its a small amount, but stock nonetheless. What a shame. Now, I have to spend a lot of money on a repair that I should not have to. GE charges $90 just to walk in the door. I was told the second time it would be over $200 to repair a 2 year old machine. It is not the customer support nor repairmen that I am so angry about, rather, it is the ** machine, which is not even 3 years old! The thing is, I always try my best to buy American products, even cars. Before I call in a repairman, I am going dishwasher shopping, in case I decide that it is simply not worth an over $200 repair. I will not be looking at GE.

I have an above range GE Microwave - it is not even 2 years old and it is done. I noticed the past few months it was not heating properly - it needed more time. This week it just blew out! NO more GE Microwaves. I have a refrigerator and I am wondering how long that will last. Thank you!

I just had a GE tech out to my house to look at a GE profile dishwasher that almost burned down last week. There was not a cover over the internal electronic control panel inside the dishwasher and that was causing the circuit board to short out. The dishwasher is only 2 1/2 years old. GE wants to charge us $200 for the repairs. But this should be something covered under warranty. Their solution is for us to pay half. I think we will go and begin to look for a new dishwasher and never purchase another GE appliance. If you are in the process of building a house and equipping your home with new appliances, I highly recommend you look for another line and another brand of appliances. I guess I need to check with an attorney to see if there are any open cases against GE for faulty electronic components in their appliances.

My husband and I bought a GE dishwasher from Nebraska Furniture Mart in April 2011. We installed it in our new home in May 2011. It has never cleaned our dishes properly. Our dishes come out of the dishwasher with a film on them and do not look clean at all. I called GE in July. They sent out a repair person who proceeded to tell me that we were not cleaning our dishes well enough. The person also told me that our water wasnt hot enough, we didnt clean our dishwasher out often enough, etc. After I corrected everything, the repairman suggested our dishwasher still wasnt working properly. So, we called GE back. We have since had two additional repair men out. Neither one has been able to repair the dishwasher. The last repairman replaced a valve he thought might be broken. However, it is still working the same. I am absolutely disgusted with the experience I have had with GE.

I have purchased a GE microwave/convection oven 7 months ago. A month ago, the control panel broke down and it would not turn on. I called up customer service and a technician was sent after a week. They have diagnosed it and the motherboard needed to be replaced. The said part was ordered and I was told it would be delivered in 2-3 days and a service will be scheduled in a week. A week came and no parts showed up. I have called up customer advocate and they assured me the said part will be delivered in time for the service appointment.Unfortunately, when they came, the said parts have not been delivered and I was given the lame excuse of systems failure; the request has not gone through their system. So the technician assured me that he will put in an overnight request for the said parts and the oven could be fixed within the week. He even gave me his work and cell number for me to call if I have any inquiries. But he never picks up or even returns my calls. So another service appointment was scheduled and parts were delivered, only to find out that it was the wrong parts, supposedly for another customer and for a different microwave model. Its really frustrating when people keep on reassuring that they are going to get it done, but has done nothing but lip service. Its been over a month and my microwave is still a broken microwave. I have learned my lesson and will never again in my life time purchase a GE appliance. PS: I should have listened to the Home Depot guy that sold me this microwave.

I have had this microwave WES1130 for several years now and the paint began peeling before year two. Nearly all of the paint is now gone (fallen into my food). Also, I bought this microwave to replace a larger GE microwave that had failed after only 3 years. The 8-year-old GE fridge is humming loudly and leaks onto my floor, which has ruined the wooden floor and warped it. I will never again buy a GE product, and neither should you. They do not care at all about quality.

I purchased a GE Profile Microwave 2 1/2 years ago and now it is shooting sparks out the back and making a loud noise. I have to admit that the microwave did work well and my mom even bought the same one because it was good. I never bought a GE appliance before because I was told they have a bad reputation. I thought the Profile Series would be better. Wrong!

Absolutely silent! Several features and cycles such as crystal, normal, pots and pans and drying options such as air dry or heat dry. Standard size dishwasher. The key is in the loader. Stainless steel with no handle or anything plastic. Flush. Stainless interior as well. It did have a food disposal but to avoid smells since we start the dishwasher only twice a week, we rinsed off our dishes. Another important element we learned from the previous dishwasher is to use the heat dry if you want your load to be dry with as little puddles of water as possible.

Dishwasher Disaster SR# TD729818B M# CDT765SSF1SS - Please, Please, Please, help me to come up with a solution with the issues that have plagued me and my family since we purchased the dishwasher referenced below in the numerous e-mails and electronic correspondence! As I write this E-mail, the GE Assigned warranty repairman has the dishwasher in question torn apart and disassembled for the 3rd time in the last month and half (Please see included photos). A repair I was told was only going to be minutes to conduct has now lasted over 3 hours and caused me to miss a very important appointment. That time frame will go at least another hour if the repair is even possible? Not to mention that a dishwasher that has been used less than 25 times has once again been torn apart and reassembled. I dont care how well built they are, this in my mind affects their performance! The repairman from JK Appliance has spent at least 12 man hours of repair time on the dishwasher, made a half dozen calls to your tech support (check your records), and has never spent less than 4hrs here on a visit. Once again, I have to be here for those visits (time out of my day) plus the stress of watching a brand new $1600.00 dishwasher dismantled time after time! At what point does G.E. make a decision that the amount of money being spent to repair a defective machine is not worth it?? I have to believe that 12hrs of repair time plus an hour of travel time for three separate visits each way, has already added up to the price of a new/replacement dishwasher? The other two G.E. appliances (microwave/Gas Stove) purchased with our remodel last year have performed flawlessly and we are happy with them. However, the trouble with the dishwasher has soured us on ever considering G.E. again! I plan on sending this E-mail and attachments to every consumer/watchdog group (Consumer Affairs) that Im aware of and to the store (Lowes- Farmington N.M) that the appliance was purchased at. This is not meant to be a threat, Im just at my wits end as to how to get to the end of this long tortuous journey that a simple appliance has caused for me and my family. Yes, there are certainly more pressing problems in the world, but right now this is the one that is currently affecting my family and the happiness in our home! Please advise if there is another route that I need to go with this problem including any alternate points of contact (GEs Escalated Issues department). My phone number is ** and maybe a simple personal call of apology from someone at G.E. explaining what my alternatives are would be considered? Thanks for your time and consideration.

We built a new home and selected the GE appliances including dishwasher, fridge and microwave thinking they were good brand. NOT. Fridge fan replaced twice, dishwasher 6 issues already, replace seals twice, entire door changed, no water, not working inside, internal latch wont release the soap and now, no water again. Just waiting for the microwave to stop working. Their appliance are terrible, built with poor quality and all are lemons. Im calling tomorrow to get my dishwasher replaced after 6 repairs in a year. I would not recommend to anyone to purchase GE appliance, worst ever. Now, Im worried they will say Im out of warranty since its now past the 1-year, but the problems under warranty have never been fixed. One fix causes another. I have documents to show my purchase in my new homeowner file.

I cant remember the exact date of purchase for my GE Spacemaker microwave oven. I have a receipt somewhere, but I have receipts for repair dated 2002. It is for a door seal gasket for the microwave. A model JVM60 GE Spacemaker installed over the range. The microwave worked perfectly for several years. Then one day, when I pressed the start button, I noticed a small fire inside the window above the control panel where the time is displayed. I called repair man; I was told that it was the circuit board, and GE was not able to send repair spare part. Since then the microwave is only good for displaying the time, and storing my everyday pan. I do remember paying $400.00 for this microwave because I purchased it at my employment. It would seem to me a company making a $400.00 appliance would be backed by a circuit board, which they know would go bad in a short time. Thats why they only had a one year warranty guarantee. To show you the difference in a microwave appliance, I purchased a small counter top microwave in 1997; it still works like a charm, and I use it every day. From the negative reviews I read on these Spacemaker microwaves, I firmly believe there should be some compensation to us consumers for the money spent, plus the hazards we experienced. If that is not agreed, then all of us consumers should file a class action suit against GE.

I bought this microwave about 2 years ago (2011). Yesterday the microwave turned on by itself, I tried to stop it by hitting the clear button that didnt work so I had to unplug it. When I plugged it back in it seemed ok so I reset the clock but within minutes it started again, this time the key pad read key pad short-circuit and then went blank. I am glad I was home when it happened. I am now wondering if I should repair it or replace it.

I called to see if someone can help me figure out why my built in microwave is running but no heat. Apparently the customer service keeps insisting I need to schedule a service without offering any kind of help. Why do I have to pay for a service trip when I can fix it with the right part? Unlike other appliance they always have customer service helping to see and figure out what might be wrong to the appliance.

My GE dishwasher came with my new Miller & Smith house. Its 2 years old. The bottom tray is rusting in several spots and you cant open the door while in operation to add an extra dish. When you open the door the dishwasher should pause while you add the dish, but this one continues working as if the door was closed and water sprays everywhere. I understand the one year warranty (they must know their products do not last long). Their support line tells me my options are to get it repaired ($99.95 for a tech to come and diagnose, then additional charges for parts and labor to install the parts on the next visit). The bottom tray is ~$125. I found their customer service rude, unsympathetic, and bothered by my questions. I was also told to go their website and review the rebate offers on a new dishwasher. I wanted to understand that program better, but the customer service agent did seemed uninterested to help me.I was quite surprised in getting this poor quality product and poor service from GE. Im not going to bother with repairs, because the cost at least $300, so I will opt to put that money in a different brand. I was considering giving GE another chance and taking them up on their rebate offer, but after reading all these other reviews, I certainly will not. The time I spent writing this will very likely have no impact on making GE change, but maybe put a tiny dent in their reputation and they will get one less sale from me.

We have had our GE dishwasher model GDT580SMF5ES for only 1 year and a half. As I was closing the door the hooks that attached the outer shell/panel to the door broke. Unfortunately we didnt purchase extended warranty so this will not be covered. Remodeled our kitchen back 6-7 years ago and bought GE Profile appliances from Home Depot... bad mistake. The microwave/convection oven came as one unit and now due to paint peeling on the microwave interior - inside top and sides we need to replace the entire unit to the tune of $2,500 plus. I called Home Depot and asked if there was a government mandated recall on the item... and they asked if we purchased the extended warranty. What? Does anyone know of a recall or class action suit on the following item: GE Profile Model: PT970SMISS. Manufactured December 2007.

We had a GE microwave that my parents got when I was in elementary school that lasted us through graduation (when I got it), and it then lasted me another 6 or 7 years after that. It was a great microwave, so we went with GE for our next one. What a mistake that was. The new one died completely less than a year after we got it (less than a year after its manufacture date at that!). The one after, one of the same make and model, lasted 3 years to the month after its manufacture date. Sorry GE, but I just do not have any interest in spending so much for so short a lifespan on your products, and its a damn shame that your quality has suffered so badly that you have lost a once-loyal customer of your brand.

Our Profile over-the-range microwave failed after 2 years. (Warranty was for one year!) One day it suddenly died. The repairman ($100) said repeated twisting of the wire from the oven to the door (which contains all the electronics) is inevitable with opening and closing. The wire often breaks within its insulation: a bad design fault. No question of replacing the wire; we would have to order a new door, for nearly $400 plus $200 for installation, which requires 2 service technicians. This is more than the cost of a new OTR microwave. He advised us to get one with the controls beside, not in the door. Unfortunately GE is the only company that makes a microwave in the same colour as our range.

I have many other things to do other than to voice my extreme and total displeasure with your company. GE - Huge Company, Small Customer Service. We purchased a GE microwave oven from ABT electronics in about August, 2013. In October, 2014 we had issues with the fan remaining on while the door was closed. Called GE. They said the unit was out of warranty by about 2 months. We felt that was a short period of time and that we called as soon as the issue became chronic.Had three service calls where the techs tried to fix a simple problem. First tech walked through our living room with dirty boots. Didnt fix the problem. Messed up our carpet. Bad attitude. Second call, two techs couldnt fix the problem. Said it was a door issue and they made some superficial adjustments. Problem not fixed. Third call, two more techs. Same result. In the meantime I tried to convince GE that I didnt want another service call. I wanted a new unit. No luck. I was offered a discount to purchase a new unit for around $300 or so. Im sure they spent more money on service calls than a new unit would have cost in terms of dollars and the reputation of one of the worlds biggest companies. Now, the fan for the unit stays on almost all the time after the cooking is done. Is this the best GE can do? If so, thats pretty sad. Tried to reach someone in sales who would get it. No such luck. DONT BUY GE AND IF YOU HAVE ISSUES DONT RELY ON A FACELESS, CLUELESS CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO HELP IN ANY MEANINGFUL WAY.
