Started at the front rack hook. My wife stopped the microwave immediately, luckily she was right in front of it when it happened. This is a serious condition that could destroy a kitchen or even the house. I will call GE Consumer hotline tomorrow.

We purchased the entire line of slate/GE/Adora appliances from Home Depot 11 months ago. The fridge has required a service call for a VERY loud freezer. The microwave is fine. The stove/oven is fine. The dishwasher is a GIGANTIC piece of junk! 4 service calls and its still clunking, tapping, grinding and just extremely loud. VERY DISAPPOINTED!! We can only run it at night because of all the racket. The layout of the sections for dishes makes it totally useless inside. It doesnt clean. Soap residue is everywhere. My old DW was quieter and more efficient. *Insert sad face here.*

Purchased a GE 650 dishwasher which we quickly discovered has terrible racking for North American dishware. Also the control panel is overly complicated yet limited to use (always flashes settings even when not in use). Once you figure out how to load dishes into the very tight/ narrow tines they fall over and chip/break. When investigating the dishwashers by GE made in China/Taiwan etc all have same issue. The ones made in USA by GE have wider and longer tines. We have had MANY dishwashers over the 40 years and NEVER had one as bad as this. When calling GE customer service the senior rep was not willing to offer any customer satisfaction as nothing technically was wrong. At one point she stated we had made the purchase so live with it even though it was the wrong choice. We offered to pay for any cost difference, etc. When questioned about GEs interest in customer satisfaction she stated that was not a warranty issue. She was not concerned about a satisfied customer. With that, we will not be purchasing another GE product or its affiliates. What a waste of money.

She refused to tell me what the code meant, and instantly wanted to charge me for tech visit. I hung up. Then I googled it, and found out right away that it meant the start was paused/delayed for 1 hour. I had hit the delay button by mistake. This was not specified in the manual under Delay Start, nor was customer support trained or willing to provide the answer to such a simple question. GE Support is just a Scam.

My GE microwave (Model: JVM1540SN1SS) that I bought new two years ago for $250.00 broke already. The table doesnt turn and nothing heats up even though the timer works. On 05/04/2014, our GE microwave over the stove unit burst into flames. My wife was sitting in our family room and heard the microwave fan start (spontaneously). Then she observed flames reflected in the kitchen window. When she went to the kitchen, she observed the interior of the microwave was aflame. The fire was extinguished with a spray bottle of water. The burning items appeared to be insulation. The fan from the microwave was with the burning insulation on the rotating plate.

I bought a brand new house and it came with the set of GE profile appliances in 10/2009. In November of this year, it came on for one minute on its own and then popped and indicated a circuit board failure. The inside of the microwave was extremely hot and there was obviously an electrical short. This could have burned down my house! My fiance replaced the circuit board at a cost of $125. I negotiated from the service department that supplied all my builders appliances. This week it happened again. This time, there was a cup of coffee in the microwave and it boiled in the minute before the microwave fried itself! I cant believe that GE still has this product on the market! Any product on the market! I have to replace this because I cant sleep thinking its going to catch my house on fire. Are there no ethics anywhere?

Our $599 GE dishwasher of 3 years is literally falling apart. We have a GE Slate Colored Stainless Steel Interior Dishwasher (GDT580SMFES) and over the past two weeks, the water stopped heating and 2 seals in the dishwasher started disintegrating. If you touch the seals (the main gasket at the bottom of the dishwasher and the main seal that keeps water from leaking outside of the dishwasher), parts of the seals come off on your fingers. We bought our dishwasher through Lowes with the extended protection plan and were having a hell of a time getting it fixed... Every time we call to make an appointment, its a minimum of 15 minutes on hold and it takes FOREVER for the new part to arrive/get the new part installed (almost 3 weeks now). So disappointed in our appliance and in Lowes for selling us such a lousy extended warranty. Never again!

We moved in a newly built home and resided in this home for three years. The house came equipped with a GE Microwave: Model: JNM1541DM5BB, Serial: ZZ 201867 L. While in the house the microwave came on by itself with flames coming from the center of the unit. The plastic in the center of the unit was on fire. I wish I had found this complaint section before I purchased my microwave. Bought model HVM1750DP1CC in May of 2010. Now, 3 years later, all of a sudden theres no power to the unit. The wall outlet is fine. There were no storms around here when it went out. It just seemed to fry itself! The repair/troubleshooting instructions tell you to get a licensed technician to check this and check that because of the voltage. They give you a flowchart to troubleshoot it yourself, but no pictures to go with the diagram. Sure I can check the fuses, if I knew where they are!GE - NEVER AGAIN FOR ME. I bought a GE Profile dishwasher 3 years ago. After two weeks it was broken. I called Mabe Appliances and they sent out a tech. He told me it was broken. When I called Mabe back the service people told me to read the manual...yes really. Finally after a lot arguing they replaced it. About a day after the 1 year warranty expired all but one of the cycles stopped working. I have to take it apart every 3 months to clean out the water output as its clogged and the water doesnt have any pressure and therefore does not clean the dishes. I got up this morning and the dishwasher was still running but there were no lights on the front of the unit. I turned it on around 8pm so it was running for 11 hours. When I opened the door it was apparent it had been stuck in the wash cycle the whole time. It is now completely dead. Nothing works. No lights. WHAT a piece of JUNK. How can GE put their name this crap? STAY AWAY FROM GE APPLIANCES. Spend a little more and get a Samsung or LG or Bosch.

The interior bulb burned out in my unit, I disabled the unit, sent in pictures and receipt. They sent a coupon for about $30.00 less than MSRP and lied about the conditions of reimbursement. Brendia, the agent I spoke with, broke off email contact when I stated the unit was no longer available from the sellers on the GE seller list (including the seller I originally purchased from), and that the unit was only available at MSRP from the online sellers I could find. Our dishwasher has gotten very warm mid-cycle and now trips the breaker in the house each time we run the cycle. The problem became evident in April 2012. We have called in a GE repair person to fix it and they said it was a heating issue and not repairable. We have not used it since, but have not replaced it with a new one yet. In August, we read about the recall of a similar model number manufactured within same time frame. Our machine model is PDW7300J03WW, the recalled model is PDW7. Our machines serial # is **. Strangely, the serial number is not listed in the recall, even though symptoms are exactly the same!We have called GE Consumer Affairs at 1-800-386-1215 four times, the most recent today, 9/14/2012. Each time we call, we are left on hold for 59 minutes only to be disconnected automatically! I am sending a registered letter to GE CA with a copy of this link and intend to contact my local news if I do not receive sufficient response within the week. Does GE need to see an actual fire report from my fire department or worse in order to get their attention to replace the unit? It is disgraceful and extremely dangerous.

I moved into our house about 27 years ago, and have had to replace every single appliance except the microwave. The oven, fridge, washer, dryer, dishwasher—all replaced at least one time over. But this 90s GE microwave keeps humming along. I really should replace it just because it is this awful off-white color and everything else in our kitchen is part of a beautiful stainless steel/black/white scheme, but it is actually built right into a cabinet and I fear I will not be able to get another microwave in there. The only gripe I have about its performance is the fan comes on and roars full-blast anytime the stove or oven is on. It is so loud its difficult to talk over.

We bought a GE dishwasher a little over 3 years ago. In the last week of September we awoke to the smell of hot or melted plastic. We found the source to be the dishwasher. I had loaded and started it before going to bed the night before. The counter-top above the dishwasher was stove top hot and upon opening the dishwasher found that a cutting board that we have had for many years and have always put in the dishwasher had melted on top of the heating coil. Dishwasher safe items on the top rack melted as well. It had been drying for at least 9 hours. After pulling the dishwasher out we saw the heat shield had melted and was crumbling. We contacted GE, sent them all the pictures and they told us it was not a safety issue. We have no doubt that if we had not woken up so early we would have had a fire in our house caused by the dishwasher.

I know this commonplace complaint, like thousands before me, will head straight into the wind because the world just works in this way: technical support and repairs works as a profit center for a corporation. My GE Profile microwave abruptly failed out of warranty after years of use. The cause was due to a wire burning up inside that had not been loosely connected, said the GE technician, so this was an issue of inadequate quality--not bad enough to cause the microwave to fail quickly but enough to cause failure over time. After taking the microwave out of the built-in cabinet, it only took the technician about 5-8 seconds to find and diagnose the problem, several minutes to get the right part (a wire) from the truck, and a couple of minutes to fix it. The labor charge was $121 for about 7 minutes of repair work, to be liberal with time. (This charge is separate from the charge to come to our home and diagnose the problem.) This prorates to over $1,000/hour for a basic wiring change, which I think is exorbitant. I understand that the technician is a highly trained individual, but this is already reflected in the high labor rate.According to GE, the cost to replace the built-in microwave, which came with a matching stainless steel frame would be $550 if we wanted the new microwave to match the frame at least (but not necessarily the oven, stove, etc.). This is the kind of cost you dont think about when you buy a new home built with matching appliances--well, I didnt. Companies like GE can rationalize all they want about all the overhead associated with servicing a repair call. I can certainly grant them some leeway, but in the end, charging an extra 8 times more an already high labor rate given the time needed to fix the problem is simply price gouging a consumer who has no good recourse. (This is why I pretty much avoid repairing anything, except for my car. Its almost never worth it.)I recently had an experience with an experienced plumber charging an hourly rate of $150, prorated by and rounded up to half-hour increments of work, regardless of difficulty of work. Repairing an appliance should work the same way, and my GE bill would have been halved. Because of such profiteering, I will not consider purchasing a GE appliance in the future. I pray that this microwave doesnt break down again in the coming years due to some other problem. It would be a lot less expensive to just buy a non-matching portable microwave then for $100-$150 than to keep up appearances. To be fair, the woman who fielded my service call was courteous and empathetic. Because the microwave apparently had an electrical burning problem, she previously waived the diagnosis fee. Otherwise, my simple repair would have run several hundred dollars, more than the cost of the microwave. However, she was unwilling to reduce the labor charge, so based on how strongly I felt ripped off, I give GE a star rating overall.

RCA RMW953-White 0.9 cu. feet Microwave, 900-watts, 10-power levels, end cooking signal, glass turntable, 6-one-touch cooking menus, speed and weight defrost, cook by weight. Bubbles obscure text. I wanted a white microwave with a door handle, .9 and fairly powerful. I was glad to have found this microwave. But I dont know if the hole was there before, or my teenagers or I inadvertently put a small hole in the plastic covering over the control panel outside the microwave (NOT meant to be removed, I asked support) but now its become a larger hole as air got underneath. I cannot read the button text. I tried to cover it with scotch tape and thats not working.I searched and found out this is a common problem with GE microwaves. The buttons are very close to the bottom and therefore, countertop, so if you have a utensil or plate or something that sits near the microwave, it might nick the plastic coating. I called GE support (in India) and they said since its under warranty, I can return it. However Id have to pay shipping costs. Fortunately, I bought this at Wal-Mart (I hate to support this store but it was the only place I could find this style) and they have an excellent return policy and there is no charge for shipping. It was easy to call and request a shipping label within the generous warranty period. You might save yourself the trouble of a return or be very careful to not put a small hole in the plastic coating. Again, this is not protective coating for shipping, this is a permanent coating to protect the buttons.

July 4th, 2010 - GE Profile Dishwasher, Model: PDW9200N00BB, Dishwasher had been humming after cycle was over for a little while, this night I walk into the kitchen late and find it full of smoke. Circuit board has a hole burned though it and wiring harness is melted. Never tripped any safety, could close the door and it would come right back on, smoke and all. This model was not on the recall list but I called GE anyway. After describing the fire they send someone out, then they send a new dishwasher out and install it. I assume they wanted the old one to look over or just to get rid of it. New washer installed the end of July 2010, new model number PDWT500R10BB. Today is 2012-02-02 and the new machine would not stop at end of cycle (Got down to 1 minute and stay there for at least 20 minutes before we turned it off). This machine is now making the continuous hum after the cycle stops that the old one did before it caught on fire.Called GE, they said they could maybe go half on parts and service until they checked where I was located. (Wichita, KS. Area population 500,000+) They said that they didnt send factory techs to my area and I would need to contact a local repair service. I pointed out that they had a factory guy for when my machine was on fire and they said it was just a malfunction now, so they could not. No half on the price for repair either at this point. This is a $1100 to $1200 dishwasher with, as near as I can tell from complaints online, a history of going up in flames. I understand things break etc, but when you continue to put out products like this and then refuse to remedy the problem, I and anyone who will listened to me will never own anything GE again.

This machine washes glasses sparkling clean with the use of a rinse additive. I like the fact that it has a top, middle and bottom spray blade; it has a moveable silverware bucket; it is very quiet; it provides that you can wash the upper level separate from the lower level. It seems to make use of the maximum amount of space inside. The appearance is sleek and modern. During the first few washes there is a distinct heated rubber smell that emits from the machine; however, this should dissipate completely by the fourth, fifth or sixth wash.

No abrasive cleaning products have been used and the oven burner under the handle is used infrequently at very lower temperatures. One year later its peeling AGAIN. All the burner control bezels on my GE Cafe oven have also peeled. The handles look like plastic covered with aluminium foil. Cant believe GE hasnt fixed this problem or issued a recall. I will NEVER purchase another products made by GE!

It works well. We like this newer GE Profile with many preset buttons such as for different times and food types, and defrost. The last GE Profile MW we got had a knob that got loose right away and hard to use, like a dial-up AOL, so this upgraded model is much more convenient. I like the bigger plate size, and that the turntable can be turned off if we put a rectangular casserole dish in there.

We are on our second GE Profile Series 60ssf dishwasher. The first one began to leak all over the floor. The store replaced it with a new one. We have had our present one about ten months. The first several months it did great and we loved it. The last two months we have noticed the dishwasher not drying our dishes. We have talked with the store several times to make sure we are doing all the right things. We are using sanitary level, power dry, Rinse Aid. We have had two technicians out and according to their computer it does not detect anything wrong. Interesting. The temperatures of the water quoted by the two were 60 degrees different. So what else is different? We received a call from supposed management of customer services saying, since the technicians could not find anything wrong, that we will have to live with whatever is going on. They will do nothing more.BUYER BEWARE! The GE brand used to be good, but not anymore. At least not in dishwashers. I definitely would not recommend this dishwasher to anyone even though it is top of the line, supposedly the best in proficiency. The unit has failed miserably, and the company had failed us miserably. We are left with a pile of junk!

We were super excited to get this GE Profile Cafe dishwasher. Minus the brand, it was the exact design/style as the one my dad has which we love! First issue, dont have a name of a dish liquid if you cant use all of them. Cascade apparently makes different detergent styles for the smart dispense. Dishes were ridiculously dirty and the horrible thing is I couldnt find an answer why on GEs site, I had to go to a handyman site. That was about a month and a half ago. Today, I did the dishes and, of course, let it do its thing. I always have the heated dry on by the way. Well, dinner came and I grabbed some dishes out which were screaming hot and I had to use an oven mitt. I didnt think anything of it because sometimes Im a sissy about that. Well, its now 3 hrs later and I get up to the smell of burning plastic. My first thought was that the sippy cup straw fell on the heating unit. I did not, however, expect to open it and see the Tupperware melting, the silverware rack melting and the water bar to be melting to the heating unit and it being so hot that I have to use an oven mitt just to touch the freaking rack. Oh! And by the way, we bought this off Craigslist last year and it was brand new. It still had the casing around it from the store.

GE Profile Microwave JVM1850DMCC - For the third time in 5.5 years, Ive experienced a magnetron failure in a GE Profile Microwave. The first failure was fixed under warranty. The second was so bad, the microwave had to be replaced, but it was no longer under warranty. I should have heeded the warning and gone to another brand, but on 12/31/10, I paid over $500 to replace the microwave with a new GE Profile to match the existing appliances. Apparently this was a big mistake as the magnetron has failed yet again. The microwave is on its own separate 20A circuit, so that shouldnt be an issue. It would seem, however, based on the number of complaints I see on this site, there is something inherently wrong with the manufacture of these microwaves, or more specifically the magnetrons. Im extremely disgusted at this point.

I never imagined that a microwave in my new home would be rendered useless after 2.5 years. Like many of you, my control panel stopped working and the floor of the oven was extremely hot to touch. Heres the weird part. You can hit the number for timed cook, but youd have to let it heat the entire time. If you open the door, you cannot restart it. You have to unplug it to reset. There’s no fan, light, or keypad. It is plugged in and I did not blow a fuse or switch. I checked them all. It’s just plain broken after less than 2 years of very light use. It’s a piece of junk! I purchased a GE Microwave Oven model # JES1139WL03 in late May of 2010. In early July, the paint started coming off the inside of the door when I wiped it with a damp dishcloth. I called Lowes, where I had purchased it, but was told that their warranty was only 30 days. I called GEs Consumer Support line and was told that for $65, I could ship the microwave to a repair center who would determine whether the machine could be repainted or would need to be replaced. I was told that either would require me to pay for it, since the machine still worked and peeling paint was not considered to be a warranty item. I guess if it catches fire, then they might warranty it.

The microwave is 2 years old. Last week I warmed a chocolate chip cookie on a paper plate for 10 seconds. Immediately the microwave flared up, the plastic bracket that the shelf rest on burned and melted. I was lucky no one was hurt or a fire resulted. GE came to inspect the microwave and offered to replace it for $258.80. I am arguing with GE. I want them to replace it free of charge. I just remodeled my kitchen back in May of 2012. My wife and I started looking for the appliances and we decided to get the GE Cafe series set (dishwasher, cooktop, electric oven and microwave). Our microwave oven, model CVM1790SS1SS, developed a humming noise as soon as you closed the door. It does sound like the magnetron is on. To verify that, I filled a cup with cold water and I put it inside and closed the door without setting any cooking time. After three minutes, the water was too hot to touch. I called GE and told them that it was a fire hazard. They sent one of their technicians and he determined that it was not a fire hazard and if I wanted it fixed, I have to pay for it. How could he say its not? If I close the door, the oven is going to continue heating up until it burns itself and everything else around it. I am pissed at GE because this unit is barely one year old and expensive. This is a safety hazard and GE failed to acknowledge. Bottom line, Ill never buy GE again and will not recommend it to anyone.

Called GE Repair. Guy came down, couldn’t figure out what was going on, said it must be the pump or it could be blocked. He went downstairs, could not find the pipe. Been there since 69...said he is going to order part. Waited 1 week. Then he calls me an hour before he was to be here. Mind you I took off work to be there. He said, “Did you have plumber to come in to see if there is a blockage and he needs to show you where the connection is?” Are you kidding me. I told him I am handicapped and having company for Christmas and I need it. He said he can’t come until I hire a plumber as he can’t find the dishwasher connections. Are you kidding?I said, “Can you come and install the pump and if it doesn’t drain then I will call the plumber.” He said no as he can’t find the connection...I am going to put 150 to have a plumber come when I know it’s the pump not a blockage to have the plumber show me where the dishwasher is connected because the idiot can’t figure it out. I said I need it for Christmas. Nobody working until next Wednesday. Do not get a GE. Poor customer service and to break down a few weeks after purchasing is unacceptable. I had A Bosch for 6 years, never a problem. Plus the lower rack tracks already fell apart. I live by myself and does not get much use. I read the reviews and should have known. We moved into our home just over a year ago. We replaced all of the kitchen appliances; refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher with GE slate gray appliances. This was in November, 2014. On New Years eve (2016), the dishwasher flooded the kitchen. I removed the kick panel and saw water pouring from the pump. After the holiday, we finally got in touch with the appliance repair shop who handles GE warranty work in our area. They contacted GE on our behalf to see if GE would stand behind a product that was just over 1 month out of warranty. Bear in mind, this wasnt something simple like an indicator light burning out, this failure was catastrophic. GE basically told them (and us) to pound sand. We are a 2 person family. The dishwasher was used maybe twice a week during the year weve owned it. Amazing quality! Now Im looking forward to watching the rest of this stuff fall apart. It looks like the life span of the product and the warranty period are the same. How handy for GE. They must not have to depend on repeat business or take these negative reviews seriously.

We purchased this dishwasher for our rental. The last dishwasher was over 30 years old and still working but the racks were coming apart so we opted for a new one from Home Depot. A year later our tenants called saying when they used the dishwasher it rained in the basement. Our maintenance man called and said the dishwasher melted a hole in the right side about 1.5 inches by a 1/4 inch. Midway to the heater element. He did a temp fix with silicone.I called GE Recall number and was told it was not on a recall list. I called customer service and was told they would waive the service call. I explained this was a FIRE HAZARD. They insisted all they could do is send their tech out for repair. Since I paid about 280 dollars for the dishwasher I decide a service call would probably run near that and told them NO! I am now sending all information to consumer affairs department with my STATE REPRESENTATIVE. I also am putting the fire hazard info out there on facebook and twitter. I am waiting for someone else to say they also had a fire hazard. This should be on a recall list!

I purchased a dishwasher and it doesnt dry the dishes. It leaves the dishwasher and the dishes wet. I was told they have a fix. However, nothing has been done. If you want wet dishes, dont buy. They told me to raise my water temperature on my hot water tank and to run my sink water until it goes hot. They told me to buy Rinse Aid. Well, I did it all and it still doesnt dry. This is an energy saver appliance. Ha, ha, its because they are saving energy at our expense.

We installed a GE Spacemaker Microwave Oven /Range Hood in 2005. We used it mainly for the overhead light over the range, the timer, the vent fan, and only occasionally to microwave vegetables. On 8/5/2011, I put a dish of eggplant in a glass dish to heat up and the microwave shut down completely to the point that I had to check the circuit breaker to see if the switch was shut off. The microwave and everything associated with it is dead.

Microwave is a 2001 and works just fine. There are a couple of things that could be better and that’s the exhaust and the lighting outside of microwave. Possibly could be more energy efficient but are bigger models built that way?

My GE microwave oven turns on by itself. The GE microwave oven model number: JVM1540DN1WW. The serial number is: RS903539B. My GE microwave oven turns on by itself usually as if the one minute express button was pressed in. This has been occurring for about 2 years and has been doing this normally when the air conditioner is not turned on. It appears this is a humidity issue. All summer it has been working fine. As the weather has started to be lower and we turned off the air conditioner, the problem has come back. When the temperature rises and we put the AC on again the unit will work fine. We live in Florida and it can be humid outside but with the AC turned on the humidity is lower and the microwave will work fine.

18 Dishwasher Model GSM1860VSS - Cleans terrifically but I have a problem with either a leak or steam which is running the front of my dishwasher and marking it. It seems to be leaking from the black panel across the top. If I check inside behind the black panel I can see marks where water has been running. Please let me know how to fix this. The dishwasher was bought in 2015 and have the receipt from Home Depot. Thanks.

We purchased a new home in 2014 with all new GE appliances. The dishwasher has never cleaned the dishes. I have to wash the dishes before I load them in the dishwasher. I might as well use the dishwasher as a drying rack. We had a service person come out before the warranty expired. We have used all of the proper cleaning recommendations and setting per the service person. Not even 2 years later, the dishwasher started leaking and ruining our hardwoods. The dishwasher was quiet but then started making a horrible noise and a burning smell emanated when door was opened. Unfortunately all of our kitchen appliances are GE. If we replace any of the appliances, they will not be GE. I will also be getting in touch with the builder of our home to let them know that GE appliances are not reliable. GE needs to recall this dishwasher.

I bought this microwave about 2 years ago (2011). Yesterday the microwave turned on by itself, I tried to stop it by hitting the clear button that didnt work so I had to unplug it. When I plugged it back in it seemed ok so I reset the clock but within minutes it started again, this time the key pad read key pad short-circuit and then went blank. I am glad I was home when it happened. I am now wondering if I should repair it or replace it.

We bought a microwave oven (CVM1790SS2SS, ZA301193K) for our new house some 4.5 yers ago. The flimsy, but very shiny, metal cover on the door handle split and the resulting sharp, but hidden, edge cut my finger. We covered it up with scotch tape, and ordered a replacement for the handle. We paid GE $102 (other folk sell it for $76, as we later discovered). There were no useable installation instructions. Our extremely competent handyman could not figure out how to do it and called GE for help at 800 636-2005. He was rudely dismissed and was told to look for instructions on Youtube! He spent 2 hours to install the replacement part. The screws that came with it, were not quite right. Ill never buy another GE appliance in my life. The Item was ordered by Ellen ** (It was shipped on 1/17/2017).

The little trap door which releases soap stopped opening when the GE top-of-the-line Profile dishwasher was one week past its warranty. Because of the design, all kinds of crud collects under the hinged door, meaning there is ALWAYS an odor unless we get down, hands and knees, to scrub it out. Features are fine -- as long as they work. Having a dishwasher that doesnt even dispense soap and cleanser isnt worth much, limiting us to the automatic feed with shine liquid. Stainless steel outside is impossible to keep clean. There are streaks and blotches within minutes of polishing with Sheela Shine. Suspect it has something to do with the humidity where we live, but it shouldnt happen. I find it strange that GE is perpetually sending me warranty extension offers for my refrigerator (which never fails), but nary an offer for the dishwasher or microwave/convection oven in the Profile line which have each needed repairs twice in the three years since purchase.

We sent the rebate form in, and they denied our claim. It was for a dishwasher that was recalled. We had to buy another one and only received $100 for the rebate after having to spend $500 on a dishwasher, but the rebate was denied! Unbelievable. We have written GE and the FTC with no response.

This dishwasher was brand new in our new house. It didnt work right from day one. GE service came out 3 times to repair. The first 2 times the GE tech was here all of 5-10 minutes and didnt repair it either. The 3rd time the tech actually pulled out the dishwasher and found the problem and fixed it. Their customer service was terrible.

I have owned my dishwasher for 5 years. Monthly, I use dishwasher magic to clean the inside, removing lime, minerals, rust and grease. The lower rack, under the silverware rack is completely rusted. I have used and owned dishwashers for over 35 years and not once has one rusted like this. Poor quality for the racks! I feel it should be replaced free of charge.

After 22 months of use, the microwave stopped heating. Youll see the same problem all over the internet. Lights turn on, plate spins but no change at all in temperature. The repair call was estimated to cost more than the price of the microwave. Its almost like it was planned. Never buying a GE product again.
