My experience in purchasing my water heater was an easy one. We just bought one and a day later the guys came and installed it. They told us a few things that we needed to know and they left. I have had it about 5 years. It definitely heats my water up very quickly and we never run out of hot water. I love hot showers so that's a plus. I like the sturdiness and style, and it definitely doesn't take up a lot of space. I also like the quality and the ease of putting in a changing elements and adjusting the temperature is easy too. It has always done its job and has never failed us. We are very very proud to own this brand. I like everything about it. It has all been a positive experience.

I went to a supplier today to replace a part from my Bradford White Hydrojet water heater, (gas control valve) and noticed that the new part which cost $185.00 is made of metal and that my part is made of plastic which is very important, because my part melted where the hot water flows. This is a clear indication to me that Bradford White and Honeywell are well aware that the old previous version of the hot water gas control valve, is and was a default product, and for those reasons, it should not matter if a person's warranty is out or not, because the fact of the matter is, they sold a faulty product and should be held accountable and responsible and should stand by their product.

Purchased NEW unit through a marketing company on Ebay. Verified with Rheem the Serial number had never been registered. Installed unit and just in five years the heat exchanger has failed within the parameters of the 12 year warranty. I have gone back and forth with this company and realized they do not stand behind their products over technicalities. They call the business that sold me the tank and the Stainless vent kit a third party vendor that is pure manure! I have the receipt the vendor wants to help and the Rheem company said they are out of the picture! It's between me and the vendor! I smell manure again! Any store selling manufacturers products are not liable for the warranty...the manufacturer is once you produce a legit receipt. Conclusion: RHEEM HAS NO ETHICS, INTEGRITY AND ANY CUSTOMER ORIENTATION! Learn from my experience>>> why would you buy their product after reading this review! I have emails of this short version of a review I am posting>>> Learn from others misfortune & experience

We are a Plumbing & Heating Contractor. We installed a Reliance Water heater less than a year ago. We purchased this water heater at Hacienda Home Center in Las Vegas, NM. The customer we installed this for has had many issues with this water heater. We have been over there several times to try to fix this problem at our cost. I have called Reliance and they refuse to refund the money spent on this water heater. We had to replace the water heater for the customer at our expense. Now our company is out several hundred dollars for this replacement because the customer did not want this water heater any longer because of all the problems.

I bought two Whirlpool (Model: bfg1j4o4t3nov4o) natural gas water heaters. The pilot light would go out to so I re-lit it and sit in the attic until the water got hot and the burner go out. But before the burner went out, I could see the flame go from blue to yellow and hear the water dripping down on the burner. So, after the burner goes out, the water would drip down on the pilot light putting it out. They sent me a thermo coupling for free but that was never the problem. The problem is that the water heaters are poorly insulated which causes the water to drip down on the pilot, putting it out. To make a long story short, no part they send will fix these heaters. I have a GE heater in my house for 20 plus years and it is still kicking. I should have went back with that same heater. For some good news, I got my money back from Lowe's. I raised so much hell in that store that the manger gave me my money back just to get me out of his store. I made them realize that all we want is our hard-earned money back from a product that does not work.

My water heater was not even five years, I had a six-year warranty. Sunday morning I awake to a flooded garage. As an elderly disabled woman, I didn't know what to do. That day I had to get it replaced, which was very costly for me, I felt relieved that it was still under warranty. I called first thing Monday morning, he asked me so many questions, then made me go out in the rain to remove a metal panel from the unit and drilled me on what I saw inside. After that he then claimed it was a parts issue that could of been replaced and therefore his hands were tied and couldn't do anything for me. Who could go for days waiting for a part that I wouldn't know to do with it when I got it and go without a shower for days. They will find any reason not to cover their products, even with a warranty. They have no consideration what people go through and the work and damages it causes. Will never purchase any of their products again and tell everyone I know.

Hot H20 tank failed after 4.5 yrs. Rheem will not honor 7 yr. warranty because there is no longer a commercial dealer in my town. Beware of poor/no customer support with this company. Very disappointed, in what used to be a dependable company.

My water heater tank began leaking within the manufacturer's 6 year warranty period. Determined to take advantage of the warranty, I spent 2 days making phone calls and exchanging emails before I was finally able to get a 'no-customer service rep' from AWH to issue me an RMA for a replacement. Since the company only sells direct to wholesale distributors, who only deal direct with licensed plumbers, my next challenge was to find a way to actually get my hands on a new unit. Since the plumbing company that replaced my tank 5 years ago is no longer in business, the AWH representative provided me with a list of plumbing companies that I could contact in my area that do sell/install the brand. It was a broken record from every company that I contacted, we "no longer carry" or "never did carry" that brand of water heater. Not a single one of them have even heard of the brand. After some additional phone calls and research, I eventually found out that the distributor that would have sold this brand to the plumbing companies also no longer carries the brand. 5 days of a leaking water heater had passed before I got to this point. I contacted AWH the next morning to inquire on what my options now were. AMH also manufactures the Whirlpool brand. I asked the rep to issue the RMA to allow me to go to my local big box store to pick up a tank under that name. She chuckled at that, stating that the AMH brand was their wholesale brand and there is no way that they could replace it for a Whirlpool. I was told that I could pay $190 to have a new one shipped to me or I could take the pro-rated credit. Seeing that their credit was only $150, paying the insane $190 for shipping seemed to me to be a better deal. Once I stated my intention to have them ship me a new one, I was yet again placed on a long hold. The rep came back to the phone to state that their company was going through some changes right now and that they wouldn't be able to even order me one for at least a few days and that I should call back 6 days from today to get one on order. She mentioned that them drop-shipping a water heater is always the absolute last resort for AWH. She also stated that if they were able to order me a new unit in the next 6 days, it would take several weeks before I would see it - are you fricken kidding me! After several obvious frustrated questions and rightly feeling like I was getting blown off, I asked to speak to her manager. The manager flat out refused to talk to me and the rep eventually cut me off mid-sentence to say that someone else will contact me "sometime tomorrow". This experience has been an exhaustive nightmare! There is no way that I will ever buy another Whirlpool product again knowing who the manufacturer is and what horrible support they provide.

The water heater is right about okay. But we have lime in our water from being south of the Potomac. So we have to change out our water heaters more than people from other states do. Even though we have the lime issue, this water heater (cross your fingers, knock on wood) has held up quite well. However, I wish it came with a filter to stop the lime from getting in the water heater to begin with. Then we wouldn't have to change them out so much.

The technician that was here to repair my propane water heater called Whirlpool to get help with the problem. The pilot would not stay lit, they would not help him. I told him it was installed in a mobile home and he had to cap the gas to the heater, it was still under warranty. Later I found out there was a recall on this heater and that probably was the reason they told him that. I ordered a water heater just for mobiles and am in the process of getting it installed. I kept the old heater for now and will still pursue this issue under the warranty.
