We bought a new LG fridge in August 2017... Yesterday Jan.21 2020 (2 1/2 years) the fridge and freezer quit working. I called the LG 1-800 to do a remote Smart Diagnose but none of their agents could get their receiver to work in order to do this. They told me to call the one warranty dealer in my city as I found out today that all the other warranty dealers dropped both LG and Samsung for both warranty and non-warranty works as their products and service are horrible. So the only warranty place said they would not come out and I had to bring in my fridge but they suggested based on what I told them was happening that they would spend $500 plus to maybe still not be able to fix it and to go buy a new one…. LG warranty is on parts only and the guys said its never the parts that are expensive. It is the problem solving time and labor that costs. It turns out they would rather build a product that uses less power for energy savings but the compressors etc fail in short time 2 to 6 years.. Great….

We purchased a brand new LG refrigerator in July of 2015... At the time I did a fair amount of research and reviews on the brand and the model (French Door, Bottom Freezer), and all reviews were over 4/5 stars. We paid $2400 for a device that lasted less than 18 months. Fast-forward 13 months later (conveniently 1 month after the we cover everything part of their warranty ended), and the fan began to make a loud noise. A few days later, our fridge was no longer cooling, and on the digital panel we received a fan motor error code.We had purchased a 5 year major appliance warranty from Lowes... After 3 repairs in one weekend (each time the fridge went about 2 hours prior to it producing the same error code), followed by a separate service provider who had to order parts (and hasnt returned in over two weeks), we still do not have a working refrigerator. LG is a PoS company producing horrible quality appliances -- each service provider told us to never again buy an LG or Samsung appliance... Theyre made to last up to 7 years, but many appliances dont even make it two years at this point.

We bought our top loading washer from Home Depot about 4 years ago. Thank goodness we invested in the extended warranty at the urging of the Home Depot salesman. I am sure he had heard many complaints about this brand. We had the washer less than a year and the drum broke. It took more than 11 days to get the washer fixed. I have 6 kids. Think of the laundry! Nightmare! The customer service could care less that having a broken washer was a huge inconvenience. Also, what does that say that MANY people were having issues with their machine and the wait list for service took 2 weeks?Fast forward 1 year and now we are dealing with a broken pump and the washer will not drain. We are on day 14 with a broken washer. The part has been ordered but LG did not rush it so we are literally at the mercy of freight shipping. We still have those 6 children. Laundry = Nightmare! Aside from the mechanical failures, the washer does not get our clothes as clean as our old, top loading washer that we had for 18 years. We often have dark brown mold splotched streaked across our clothes, sheets and towels. I bleach a lot and the musty mold is still an issue. I am continually cleaning the mold from the rubber seal. This is an awful appliance. Very disappointing! It is an expensive piece of junk. I do not recommend anyone purchase an LG washer unless you are a glutton for punishment.

We purchased this refrigerator in May 2015. Ice maker has always been marginal, but this last week after we got home from a few days away, we found the refrigerator and freezer not working. No error codes, so we tried a power reset. Still no cooling or freezing. We called the appliance repair from the store we purchased from and their technician came out and verified the compressor had failed. He said their shop would contact LG about getting a repair estimate. We had purchased a 5 year warranty, but were 15 months out of coverage. Started to investigate if this was a common problem and lo and behold, we find there was a class action suit against LG for defective linear compressors. Our model was in the affected date range, however the settlement only covered 5 years after purchase for parts and labor. We are now waiting for a repair estimate. LG compressors are not reliable. Do your own research. These fridges are advertised as saving money, but when you spend over $2000 for a piece of junk that only lasted 6 years, do the math. They are not cheaper to own. We went shopping for a replacement and told the sales lady our experience with LG refrigerators and she commented that several of her customers had conveyed the same story about failed LG compressors. It is probably going to make more sense to just purchase a new refrigerator, given the cost of repair labor. Rest assured, it will not be LG or any other LG product in the future. LG is not Life is Good. It is Lucky Goldstar. Our luck ran out.

This is the WORST appliance I have ever owned! Second day after receiving it we had to call repair out due to ice forming in freezer. So much ice in freezer we couldnt pull out the drawers. LG said it was a design flaw and fixed it. Fast forward. Luckily we had taken the extended warranty out for 5 years. In the 5 years we owned it before the warranty was up we had to have it repaired a total of 5 times with the last repair being the refrigerator totally stopped cooling. LG replaced the circuit board and said that should fix it. It didnt. They came back out and replaced the compressor. This fixed it but not totally. We were without a refrigerator for 1 full month. We had to turn the temperature lower than what it was actually cooling. I should have called them out again at that point but it was cooling. About a month after the warranty was out it stopped cooling to where it should be. Called repair again. They refused to work on it. Said they did everything they could do. Plus if it was the compressor again we would have to pay for labor. Also if it was the control panel, they only have refurbished parts because they dont make that anymore. We were concerned about it not being fixed after paying a bunch for labor so decided to have it taken to the dump after only 5 years and purchased a different brand that is made in the USA. We originally paid $2800 for this piece of crap!

I purchased an LG after reviewing them on Consumer Reports and other websit
I purchased an LG after reviewing them on Consumer Reports and other websites. I purchased mine from Lowes in June 2016 but it was not installed until August 2018 due to the delay of my home construction completion. So in service less than 1 year and no longer will cool or freeze as of 8-1-19. After a little research I discovered that the Linear Compressor failure is a COMMON problem with LG. NOTE LG at the time of my purchase had a 5 year warranty on this unit from the purchase date, I believe it is now a 10 year warranty. I called customer service on 8-2-19 to report problem. I was told I would be contacted by an authorized service center within 48 hours. NO CONTACT. ON 8-4-19 got a call from LG indicating I would be provided free service & repair for the cooling issue and would receive a call from an authorized service center with 48 hours (ANOTHER 48 hours with no frig/freezer). On 8-4 I received an email that my request had been sent to an authorized repair center. On 8-5 I received an email Service Appointment Cancellation Notification. I again called and advised I had never been contacted about a service appt. She put me on hold and came back and said I had a new service appt on 8-8 between 8-5 and the provider would call me 1 hour prior. On 8-6 I got another Cancellation Notice. It is now 8-12-19, still no frig/freezer or repair scheduled. I have documented everything and will pursue. I also discovered there is a class action against LG for this same problem. My request was escalated to Executive Services Project Team on 8-8-19 and I was told to call him (will not mention names yet) back on Saturday as he would be working from 9-6, if I had not received a response within 48 hours. He did send me an email with his name and unit but no direct phone number. On 8-10 I called and asked to speak to the person and was advised no one worked in that division on the weekend.Today 8-12 I called and asked for Executive Services and spoke to another man. He advised that a repair provider was sent a letter of authorization for a labor rate of $450 flat on 8-5-19. The man tried to call them with no answer. I advised it was too early here in Hawaii and he asked if I could call them. I have called them with no person answering, and left two messages. (Perhaps this was one of the cancelled appointments). I need to know IF AND WHEN my refrigerator will be repaired. I have guests coming in two days and will rent one if I have to but NEED a response from someone that has a clue about what steps will be taken. By the way, pretty no one here on the island of Hawaii will repair either LG or Samsung. Next time I will check with repair services before I buy an appliance.

We bought an LG French Door Refrigerator 8 years ago for almost $3000. Right before the warranty expired the compressor broke. It took 2 weeks to get LG to send a repair man out, 2 more week for the wrong part to arrive, 2 more weeks for the repair to be finally completed. Now a few years later, the refrigerator broke down again. We called several appliance repair companies and they all said we are better off applying our money to a new refrigerator because the parts are nearly impossible to get and they will not last. None of them had positive opinions of the LG product. Never again.

LG WT4870C top loading washing machine has been a nightmare since we bought it. It started by ripping our clothing and then shaking violently. They came out initially and changed the drum. That took care of the ripping problem though they did not reimburse us for the clothing. It did not take care of the shaking problem which has become very violent. Please never, never buy an LG product.

Cleans very nicely but is just starting to get noisy. Love the ease of use and the rinsing it spot free. Perfect for a family of 4 but I can see its going to be too large when kids go to college soon. Modern looking, looks up to date. Wish I had gone with the stainless steel finish but that was much more money. I love the dishwasher but sometimes its too large like when the kids go away for weekend with friends.

I bought the LG Front Loader 4 years ago at Home Depot and it has ruined comforters, sheets and clothes with greasy black stains which dont come out, especially if you dont notice them and put the item in the dryer. If you catch them and rewash with bleach, they become light brown stains, but dont go away. It doesnt happen all the time, but often enough to completely frustrate us. We always use the detergents, no softeners and some liquid bleach. We run the tub clean cycle once a month and wipe out the nasty black gunk from the gasket regularly. I cant imagine that gunk is normal. I have owned many washing machines and none has ever left my laundry ruined like this.

My LG refrigerator is less than 4 years old. Over the last 4 months, ice has been forming on the walls of the freezer. In May, the freezer was making a humming noise. I have a maintenance agreement with an outside company for all my appliances and home. I called them. They said the main board is no good and I would have to pay the deductible for the part. I called LG and asked if they would cover the part. I was approved, but then they kept changing the rules. One rep said they would send it out to me. Then the next time I called, they said I would have to use their company for repair which would cost me $250. When I got the manager (who was so rude and could not care less), said she would send it directly to my maintenance company. Then the next time I called to see if the part was sent out, she said the maintenance company would have to call for the part. When I told her the company wont do that because LG wants them to insure the part, LG said there was nothing they can do. Their customer service is awful. How can the main board on the refrigerator go in less than 4 years? Their products are junk. I will now have to pay for the part I was approved for. What a horrible company. Never buy LG products!

Every time I use my LG Wave Force supposedly “self balancing” washing machine it takes multiple hours to finish one load unless I am constantly readjusting the clothes to keep it balanced evenly. It doesn’t seem to matter if the load is big, medium or small in size. The result is still the same. The clothes do not seem to come out clean and the machine takes forever to finish a load. I spent a lot more than I had expected for this washing machine because of the great reviews that I read about it and have been highly dissatisfied since I purchased this piece of junk. I will never buy an LG washing machine ever again and I am writing this review to help others save their money to put towards their hard earned money towards a washing machine that’s well worth the big purchase. Clearly this one was a huge purchasing mistake. I HATE this machine!!!As if doing laundry wasn’t enough of a chore, babysitting this machine and CONSTANTLY readjusting the clothes is a busy woman’s nightmare!!! I’ve talked to many people and the consensus is the people love their washer if they purchased a Speed Queen. I’ll be looking into that type of washer soon. I would’ve thrown the LG washer out my second floor window by now if I could!!

It takes me hours to wash a load of clothes, because it keeps stopping blinking unbalanced, it does this whether there is a full load, just one thing or cleaning. The washer will get down to 2 or 3 minutes left in the cycle then completely reset itself back to the beginning of the cycle and start all over again. Took me 6 hours to wash 5 towels the other day, finally had to stop the washer hand wring out my towels, just to get the load done so I could wash more clothes. My towels have never smelt as bad as they do since I got this washer 3 years ago. Hate this, I have 7 people in my house I cannot wait hours to wash one load of clothes.

I have been reading many of the disturbing complaints in this forum regarding the LG washer recall and can only add to the frustration expressed here. My parents purchased one of the models that has been recalled (WT5101HV Serial No. 007KWYP02018), about 18 months ago. The machine was acting up, and they just got the letter about 2 months ago. We called LG and scheduled to have a technician come out, and they did the software patch download. This was a joke! It did not fix the problem, instead it only perpetuated it. Now, instead of the wash load spinning rapidly out of balance.... it spins much more slowly and still out of balance! In addition, the wash and rinse cycles still do not work properly. The machine starts the normal wash cycle, and never drains any of the soapy water! Instead, it keeps adding more and more water (just like before). It only drains all of the dirty soapy water (very slowly) at the end of the Full wash/rinse/and softener cycle. And it never properly spins the wet clothes to remove excess dirty water. This process takes 3 times as long as before, and the clothes never come out totally clean. A simple load can take all day to complete! They are ready to Dump the unit in the ocean! Does anyone know if there is any kind of class action or formal legal group that is trying to get LG to make customers whole?

We bought a LG refrigerator from Sears in late 2015. It was a top of the line double door and cost approximately 3000.00 dollars. It quit within the first year and was repaired. It quit again the second and during the third year it has broken down twice. Every repairman that has worked on this refrigerator tells us that it is well known that this LG model has design defects. We have contacted SEARS and been told to go to LG. LG has been unresponsive and continue to tell us that they will fix refrigerator. This has meant countless service sessions where they replace various parts and the refrigerator works for weeks and then quits again. We have lost hundreds of dollars of spoiled food and lost time waiting on repairmen. The repair company contracted with LG here in San Diego has very poor reviews and the service is poor. LG is obviously hoping to wear the consumer down by dragging out any possible settlement. DO not buy LG products. This is an irresponsible company with defective products that has no concern for their consumers. Worst product and product service I have ever experienced. I have never written a review before but felt compelled to weigh in on this company.

DO NOT BUY AN LG WASHING MACHINE!! Upon installation, our brand new top of the line front loading washing machine, LG Model # WM3470HWA, exhibited extreme water hammer noise, which resonated through our entire 2,700 sq ft home, immediately after the sensing cycle and during the filling cycle. LG Phone Tech Support recommended that our plumbing contractor (a master plumber), install water hammer arrestors (3 sets were eventually installed, in between visits from the LG 3rd party and Factory Rep). We also reduced the water pressure, even though the existing pressure setting was well within LG tolerances. he third party service rep, during a call w/ Tech Support at LG was told that the water hammer noise is intrinsic to the machines operation. In the end, after going to the very highest level of Customer Support at LG, they refused to address the problem, or stand behind the product in any way. The result... we are stuck with a inferior, defective washing machine. If you go to other blogs, you will see that this problem is quite common with LG washing machines.

I bought a front load LG washing Machine. I unplugged the machine when I heard it making a kind of grinding sliding noise. To me it sounded like the belt broke. I called a local repairman to come see about the washer. He told me he could not help me because LG is a brand name out of Korea and its very hard to order parts for these type of machines. He told me none of the local repair guys will come fix it and if they did they would charge a lot. He told me to call the warranty company, but my warranty ran out already. LG washing machine WT4870CW. What a piece of junk this machine is, $727.99
LG washing machine WT4870CW. What a piece of junk this machine is, $727.99 and less than two years old. This machine sometimes has a smell to it, take forever to do a load of wash and puts pulls in my clothing and now it leaks water out over the tub. (A computer problem with the amount of water being put into the machine.) When I originally took it apart to check where the water was coming from I was shocked at how cheap it was built. They advertise stainless steel DRUM but they dont tell you is the outside tub which holds the water is plastic, look like a big water cooler jug, you can see right thru it. They also make a big deal out of the ten year warranty on the direct drive motor because they know the machine wont last that long. Called customer service for help with my problem, what a joke, had some guy with an accent reading from a book and so much noise in the background I could hardly hear him. He gave me the number for the local repair place in my area and told me I would have to pay for labor but the parts were free. I called them and nothing was free and they didnt even like working on them because they have problems getting parts, most times they have to order them for Korea and they take a very long time to get. In fact the company who repairs them doesnt even sell them because they have so many problems. (They dont like Samsung either, both made in the same country.) I decided I wasnt putting more good money into a bad product so Im just going to take my loss. I bought a new Speed Queen with an agitator and all manual controls, I dont need a computer operated washing machine, I have ten good fingers and can turn three dials, and hit one switch. (Top rated machine on the market, fewest repairs.) I will never buy anything made by LG again, Im keeping my paper work on the old machine in case they ever have a class action suit against them. I hope everyone who has problems with this machine tells all their friends to stay away from LG.

LG service has been here 2 times and tell us to add buckets of water to the washer, use less soap and do small loads when this machine says it can wash a king size comforter. We have a 25 cubic foot stainless steel side by side refrigerator, 3 1/2 years old. On the 8th we noticed the freezer wasnt freezing (thought we had left the door open), but on the 9th we noticed water on the floor from the ice melting, called Sears where we purchased it and got the name of 2 service techs. The next day he came out and said the compressor had gone out (he mentioned that LG is known for this, and GOOD LUCK with service from them), he gave us a quote to fix it, said for what it would cost it would be better to get a new one. The next day we went to Sears to look for a new one, found out through them that the refrigerator was 100% warranty from LG on parts and labor, so we went home and called LG the next day. By this time we have lost hundreds of dollars in meat and other items out of the fridge and freezer. After contacting LG and talking with an agent, and letting them know we had a compressor go out (let me tell you, every time I talk with a new one, and every time the language barrier makes the communication hard), anyway they said they would get a service call right out. That was on Monday the 13th, I did not hear from them so I called back, and again no service scheduled, the agent said they would expedite and get a service request. On Thursday the 15th, I got an email that we would have a service call on Friday. Friday morning I called A&E service to verify the service and time, they had NO record of a service call. So I called LG and they told me to call A &E myself to schedule, so I did, well A & E says they cant set it up because its under warranty and I have to go through LG, so I call LG back again. I was on the phone for 51 minutes (mostly on hold) with a Michael, results, they will expedite, give them 2-3 business days.On 4-21 called LG to see where we were, was told that A & E has scheduling issues, give them 2-3 business days. Called LG on 4-24, same thing, give them 2-3 days, but this time they offered to pay up to $200.00 for a refrigerator rental. I declined, one, doubt this would pay for a rental for as long as this is taking, and two, we lost everything when it went, so basically living on the basics to get by, NEVER thought it would take this long. I asked for corporate phone number, but forgot this was suppose to be a manager I was talking with, so I was given a phone number and it was the 1st number I ever called for the service, this person hung up on me.Called the corporate number back 256-612-5359. Talked with Rads, while on the phone with me he called A& E and told me that A & E accepted a work order for the repair, but have no record of it, so HE IS GOING TO EXPEDITE THIS TO CORPORATE OFFICE,, GIVE THEM ANOTHER 2-3 DAYS to get a response. However he did offer because of my issues they would authorize a local service repair and pay for the parts, we pay the service and labor and they would reimburse us up to $450.00. I passed on that option, if they reimburse as fast as they get service I may never see the money, and at this point in all of this, I do not trust them. I feel all I have got is a run around and a way of them hoping we will go buy a new refrigerator and drop the repair claim. Not gonna happen.P.S. when we were looking at Sears in the beginning, was looking at a Kenmore Elite, however now that I know it is made by LG, there is no way I would buy it. Our original local service man that we had, told us good luck with LG, obviously this is their normal customer service. We have become a disposable society, and nothing last like it use to, but when you spend $1500.00 on a refrigerator it should last more than 3 1/2 years, and if it still is covered under warranty, you shouldnt have to go through what I have. I would not recommend anything LG, if this is how they take care of their customers.

On April 2012, we purchased an LG over-the-stove microwave Model LMH2016ST for $320. The warranty was only good for one year but we thought we were buying a good product so went ahead and purchased it. On August 2015, the Primary Interlock Switch on the door broke so we called a recommended appliance repairman who replaced it for a total of $170.75. The same switch broke again on February 2016, one year later, and the same repairman told us he has to order a new part and this will cost another $170.75. I called LG Company and registered a complaint about this happening twice and they told me I should have paid attention to the one year warranty at the time of purchase. They do not stand behind their products. We will not repair this microwave because we have already put $237 into this product that appears to be a lemon. This is the last LG product of any kind that we will purchase. We also had a brand new $3000 refrigerator break down the first week we purchased it. Luckily that very expensive part was covered by the warranty at the time. So far, our LG Range is still working. We have lost all confidence in LG products and will not buy anything else from this company.

I was very excited and purchased all brand new LG appliances in late 2016 after purchasing a new home. The dishwasher has 3 racks and after 4 months the top brackets are supposed to be adjustable and do not stay upright. They are supposed to clip into brackets and have come apart. In addition, there are 6 spots on the upper and lower rack that have been burned and are completely falling apart. This was a very high end dishwasher and will not buy another LG. My brand new stainless French door refrigerator with 2 freezer drawers is also a disappointment. The side areas have broken apart and I have taped them together. Very poor design as it only holds very few items that are tall like milk gallons.

Bought the LG Top Load Washer and Dryer in February and the worst mistake Ive ever made. I hate the washer, it is not efficient, and does not get my clothes clean. Never fails I get the UE error and always having to readjust my laundry only to find I have to do it again. If I dont pre-spot all stains they will not come out. I spend more time restarting and waiting for laundry to finish than anything else. I will never buy a LG product again. I hate this machine so much I wish I didnt have to give it a star. BTW spent the last 3 hrs trying to wash one set of queen size sheets.

I purchased an LG refrigerator on June 4, 2019. LG delivered the refrigerator a few weeks later and unfortunately, it was severely damaged when it arrived at my residence. The delivery company returned the damaged unit and delivered another refrigerator a week later. The 2nd refrigerators left door contained the water and ice dispenser of which neither worked. I spoke with LG customer service and they indicated that a local repair company would come out and assess the issue. National Platinum Services was the local company and it took them two weeks to show up and when they did, they were not able to diagnose the problem. There has been no follow up since they left so currently I am still waiting on how this situation is going to be resolved. Bottom line is that LG doesnt seem to value good customer service so in the future I will look elsewhere when shopping for any product that they may market to the public.

Today while using ice dispenser, the control panel started beeping then whole unit lost power. Checked plug in and it had power. Only the refrigerator would not work. This is a known issue with LG, yet they do not want to help. Luckily I have homeowners insurance that will take care of my $3,500 bad purchase!

LG True Balance - We had the washer for only 8 mos. It stopped agitating. We reported the issue to the 800 number on the machine. They sent a tech the next day. Finally at 7:00 pm they arrived. First the problem. 15 mins after he left the whole bottom unit came off. Called them again. The next day they sent the same tech, this time he said the part is bad and will need a week to order a new part. We thought we were getting a top of the line washer. Further, he doesn’t balance correctly... as it is suppose to auto balance. First time buying LG. Very disappointed with the product and the service. To have it break in 8 mos. To go without a washer for two weeks with a family is unacceptable!

We have a 5 year old LG oven that began experiencing issues with the cooktop 1-2 months ago. The burners will work, but only rarely. They will turn on and heat for maybe 5 seconds and then turn off. Sometimes they will work for a few minutes, and then turn off. Never on long enough to cook a meal, or if you are in the middle of cooking it will power down to barely on and you are stuck. The front larger burners work way less than the rear burners, and the left burners are way more problematic than the right. There is a heat vent to release excess heat from the oven and glass cooktop located under the control panel on the left hand side that is frying the computer components in the control panel causing malfunction. This is a known design and engineering issue.I have tried calling LG, and they tell me there is nothing they can do. I tried communicating with them on Facebook and they tell me there is nothing they can do. There are many people documenting the same issue on places like Youtube and even here. Everyone one of them, right around the five year mark this starts happening to them. There are many replies from people saying LG did the right thing and fixed this for them. New computers. New control panels. The entire back replaced. Nothing for me. Super disappointed that our $900+ oven only lasted 5 years before its going to need a repair call and expense for me.We replaced our entire kitchen with Consumer Reports top-rated LG appliances five years ago. The dishwasher is already gone; too expensive to repair that compared to the cost of a new model. Still have microwave, and refrigerator. Oven is failing as mentioned. We also have two 65 LG TVs and an LG washer in our house. Doesnt matter how long we have been a customer, LG is making this difficult.

After calling LG over & over, all we are told is to run washer cleaner through it, which weve done a million times. Still not working. LG finally said theyd contact an appliance repair and send out a rep (at a cost of at least $280 to us...thanks, LG!) and gave us a date and time window. No one showed. LG never set it up. Within 2 years of purchasing our top-load (no center agitator) washer/dryer set, the metal around the bleach dispenser in the washer began to rust. We lifted the top of the washer and the entire bottom was rusted. It looks as if the underside of the washer top was not sealed properly from water damage. We found many other similar complaints online and contacted LG, only to be told that the rust is cosmetic. Soon our bleach dispenser will be unusable. During a normal cycle, water runs through the bleach dispenser, so even if I stop using it for bleach, the rusty water will still enter the washer drum. There is no reality in which rust running into the washer should be considered cosmetic.

lmx28988st Refrigerator w/ French Door and two drawer freezer. Two significant issues with major functions!1. Loss use of Freezer! Freezer drawer design is low quality and not durable. Details: Plastic cogs on the drawer track are frail and shear teeth easy. The stack up of the cogs on the rails have excessive tolerance. This combination causes the drawer to easily hop off track and excessive ice build up on door seal and door will not shut. Corrective action: Align better quality cogs with the rails to prevent future door alignment issues. Home band aid: Unplug, defrost freezer, take door off to assist in realignment.2. Loss use of Ice Bin! Ice bin feed components poor assembly quality. Details: The claw components that feed and crush ice have a set screw that will come loose due to low torque and ineffective thread lock substance. This causes the assembly to simply fall apart and render the ice bin useless until repair. Corrective action: Identify the optimal torque and thread lock substance to prevent screw from backing out. Another option would be to capture the assembly so that the screw can not back out from the crusher assembly. Home band aid: If you are able to find all parts, youtube has a few videos that can help with reassembly. Clean the threads of the screw and apply Blue Loctite to prevent from falling out again.

This is a follow-up to my first complaint. We sent in the serial number lab
This is a follow-up to my first complaint. We sent in the serial number label and paperwork stating that we would not hold LG responsible for a hush money settlement of $264.00. The offer had expired while we were pursuing our legal options, so we called and talked to a gal named Courtney who said, “No problem. Send in the paperwork and we will honor the cash hush payment originally offered.” We received a phone call today from a person named Sunyung who originally had made the offer. She informed us that now the offer had gone down to $194.00, because Courtney had no authority to authorize a hush payout. Then, she proceeded to complain and tell me that communication between the people in customer service wasnt what it should be. I told her that sounded like an internal problem and I was not being paid to listen to her and try to figure out how the communication could be rectified within her department! I asked to speak to her superior, and she gave me to Michael. Michael told me that yes, the part was warrantied, but I got one of the small percentage of refrigerators that were unfixable, basically the lemon model, and thats just how the ball bounces. They still would not honor the warranty and told me since the fridge was now a month older, it was worth $70.00 less! This thing hasnt worked for 9 months! I think I will just wait for the class action suit that I am sure will be coming up in the next few years when a lawyer gets a hold of this and wants to make some easy money. I dont care if I get only an 18 cents payout. It is now the principle of the situation. I did tell Michael he could be president with all his doublespeak and asked him why they want to beat their customers up so badly. First, they lie about their warranties; then, they offer you hush money; then, they renege on that. No ethics with these people. Obviously, they have no faith in God because this is just not how you treat people. Life sometimes just isnt fair. This is one of those times.

If I could’ve given this zero stars I would’ve. I bought this LG (Life is Good) top loader washing machine and LG Dryer because my old dryer finally broke after 10 years of usage. My previous washing Machine worked fine but the wife wanted the new LG dryer to match a new LG washing machine. So we bought the set. After maybe 4-5 years I noticed some rust on the inside of the body of the washer. Well that rust spot got bigger and more rust spots began to pop up. After many failed attempts with LG customer service and their service technician in my area the end results were that they would not repair or replace the washer. It is considered a cosmetic issue. The rust has dropped into the washer with the clean clothes defeating the purpose of cleaning the clothes. It now has become a hassle pulling the so called clean clothes out of the washer without touching the sides or the top because it’s all rusty. I’ve sent LG pictures of the rust at their request with no response. During the time of purchase we also bought other LG appliances. I’ve had problems with their microwave, stove, dishwasher and refrigerator. My older appliances I had that were much less expensive outlasted the very expensive LG CRAP I bought. Don’t buy LG!!

Two months ago the washer filled up and would not spin or drain. I had to have one of the kids wring the water out of the clothes pc by pc. I contacted a friend that did appliance repairs and asked for some help. He wasnt able to arrive for a week, after which time it was discovered it was the drum of the washer. I contacted LG and they said not to worry that it would be covered as a lifetime coverage. Great! Next problem I bought this off of co-worker and his partner that they had it for about a year prior but was going into a home foreclosure and sold it to me. I didnt ask for the receipt at that time not thinking it was an issues as they bought it at our local Home Depot just around the corner from us both. So as I am speaking with the LG Rep on the phone, she takes my info and then says okay I have everything I need, now we just need your tech to call in the repair call so it can be further processed. I explained the whole story as I did not have receipt and that it was never called in as I was the owner. She said thats okay, not to worry, that wouldnt be an issue. My friend calls in the problem to them, they tell him okay; its covered but all they need is a proof of purchase. Not so easy, the co-workers partner had passed a year ago and there was no remembering what CC was used to purchase or what phone number so Home depot has no way to track it. Needless to say months later, still no washer and now since I am on a fix budget as a single mom, I now have to use a laundry mat to do our laundry, very hard after many years. Its the freaking drum that is cover and I can show them exactly which store the Serial Numbered Washer was purchased from but that is not good enough after one rep said it wasnt a problem. I have told my friends and family, not to waste their time with LG Products as they too will run into POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Nothing but a run around and ** just to get out of the lifetime coverage. Avoid LG if you want better quality. Go with Maytag, I had one for over 10 + years!!!!

Very spacious with lots of labeled compartments make it easy to find things. Very contemporary design so it matches my kitchen decor. The freezer is located on the bottom which leaves more refrigerator room to store cold food and beverages. The water is filtered and ice can be cubes or crushed for drinks. Shelves are easy to remove and clean. The stainless steel is modern look and easy to keep clean. Overall I love the product. It matches my microwave perfectly. Designed very well. I dislike the temperature. Sometimes it gets too cold and freezes my refrigerator items and also there is an annoying sensor that beeps to let you know the door is open. It is a good and bad thing because it makes sure you remember to close the door so that food wont spoil but also its a bad thing when you are loading groceries and need the door open for a long time. I chose LG because it is a brand I trust and I know is high quality and durable to last me and get my moneys worth. I have a 2-1/2 year old LG french door, bottom freezer refrigerator that I purchased from Sears for $3,000. While on vacation, the entire unit stopped cooling. Called Sears to service. Because it was a sealed system issue, LG covered parts but not labor. 4 visits, $480 later, and 4 WEEKS WITHOUT A WORKING REFRIGERATOR, the unit is still not working. The compressor was replaced, the evaporator was replaced, the dryer value was replaced, as well as 2 valve assemblies.I call LG and they tell me I need another repair company to look at it. I pay another $100 for them to tell me they think it needs another compressor which will cost me another $300 and there is no guarantee that will fix the problem. Unit still isnt cooling, freon is low, and you can hear the freon now gurgling loudly through the unit. I have called LG at least a dozen times. Lucky if you can get someone who speaks English that is understandable. My question to them was, will they deem it a lemon and offer me a buyout or replacement if compressor doesnt fix the problem. They cannot give me an answer. So now I paid $3,000 for this refrigerator, close to $600 already in labor charges trying to fix it and it still does not work and LG will continue to allow this nightmare to continue until God knows when. Let me start by saying I will never buy another LG product and will warn others to stay away from this manufacturer. I purchased a French Door Refrigerator Model LFX25978 and after approximately 3 years the compressor failed. Although the refrigerator was under a one year warranty, the compressor had a ten year warranty which is one of the reasons I decided to purchase it so I had a glimmer of hope that this repair would be covered by LG. NOT EVEN CLOSE. After very frustrating discussions with customer service I was told that I would have to have an authorized service center diagnose the problem at a cost of approximately $175 and upon their verification, they would send a compressor directly to my home free of charge but I would have to pay for the repair. My total cost was around $800. When all was said and done. HERE IS THE REAL KICKER. Fast forward just short of another 3 years to now and the compressor failed for the second time. Obviously there is a problem with this part that the company is unwilling to address. When I called to see if the company would make some type of accommodation, I was treated very unprofessionally and they would not offer the slightest relief. NEVER AGAIN. POOR QUALITY COUPLED WITH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A VERY BAD COMBINATION.

Finally had to call for service and was told the motor assembly A/C pump needed replacing. This machine in not 4 years old. Guess thats why the warranty was for only 1 year on all the smaller parts. What kind of company makes such items and can only guarantee the said item for 1 year??? Thank goodness for Worry Free.

We moved into a newly-built home with a brand new LG front load washing machine. With a few weeks, gentle use (there are only 2 of us), we began to notice an extremely foul odor we finally tracked down to the machine. Neither of us ever even attempt to open the door until the full cycle is complete. We found 2 problems - first, a terrible odor inside and around the door of the machine even with repeated attempts to run the machine cleaner product through, and second, a drain hose at the lower front of the machine that ended up having to be drained with every single use and even then, we had the odor. We will never buy any LG product again!!!! When we contacted them, we found no one who would even listen to us.

After owning and enjoying LG washers and dryers in the past of course when building my dream home in Ocala I requested this brand which was a big mistake. The literature advertises the dryer will dry a king comforter. Noting could be further from the truth. My first experience with model 4370 was trying to dry a queen comforter which it burned. The unit is less than two months of use and it does not dry completely the smallest of loads. The companion washer does not clean the clothes. This is a big disappointment and no wonder the company discontinued these models but what about the consumer left holding the bag.

I bought an LG True Steam Balance washer and dryer 2 years ago. Without a doubt, my 30 year old agitator washer and dryer in our house up north function much better. I purchased on the strength of Consumer Reports recommendation and because I thought the steam option would be useful. Consumer Reports really blew this one or else the report was written by some young person who considers wrinkles a fashion statement.EVERYTHING and I include towels, comes out so wrinkled that it requires touching up with an iron. I cannot WAIT to get rid of this washer and dryer; it makes life harder, not easier. I cant fault the cleaning; the clothes are cleaned just fine, but I believe that the washer spins with such ferocity that wrinkles are set into the clothes and no amount of tumbling, or taking them out of the dryer while damp, will eradicate the wrinkles.

I like the French doors on the one we bought and the door within the door. We had it delivered then there was an installation issue and we had LG come out and fix it. It was just a matter of not getting the refrigerator fully plugged in 100% when they removed the door to get it through the doorway.

This has damaged several pieces of clothing beyond repair. I removed the screen assembly from the dryer to inspect it. There is no damage or lint. It is very easy to use. It cleans well and has lots of options that save time and water and guessing which setting to use. I Have owned and used front loaders before and this fits the bill. The only drawback, if you could call it that, is you must leave the door ajar when done to prevent a mildew smell. But that is really just normal for a front loader and this one is better than most.

We bought an LG washer because it looked like it had new features that others did not. Boy does it ever. Every complaint Ive read I have experienced with this top loader. When washing sheets, at the end of the cycle one sheet is tight over the rest of clothes like a balloon and clothes underneath are so wrinkled I have to rewash to get them out. Areas of clothes are dry, HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN??? The clothes then dont get clean or even smell clean. 48 hours after buying this washer, I used it for the first time. Was so disgusted I called Home Depot about getting a refund. I was told I only had 24 hours to return it, to call LG. I was then told they had the same rules, 24 hours. This is **! The title says it all. I had the unfortunate incident of cracking the stove top glass of my LG stove top when I was holding my one year old boy and I accidentally dropped a drinking glass about 1 foot from the glass. I went to the LG website and the price quoted was $844 + tax. I called 3 appliance repair guys and they all said, that nobody should ever by LG stove foe this very reason. THAT THE PARTS ARE OUTRAGIOUSLY PRICED!!!! Why didnt the LOWES appliance sales guy tell me that when I bought asked for advice on whether or not I should be local or LG? I spent almost $20,000 on all new LG appliances a few years ago. Never again! I will now buy locally manufactured goods because parts are readily available and significantly less costly. Expensive lesson learned. LG builds obsolescence into their products by outrageously charging exorbitant prices on parts! LG should be ashamed of themselves. A little mistake would now cost me and my family about $1000 to replace a glass top that is almost as expensive as a brand new stove. I will be throwing the LG stove out the window and will be buying a new locally manufactured stove. Will never ever buy LG again.

I purchased the stove from Home Depot on March 29, 2011. My kitchen remodel was completed two months later, making the actual age of the stove approximately four months old. I dont cook on the stove often and only used the oven this one time. I placed a tray with dinosaur breaded chicken pieces in the oven at 350 degrees. Five minutes into cooking them, I heard glass shatter. I ran to the kitchen thinking a window had broken. I looked at the oven and the inside glass had shattered. I waited the weekend and called LG service on Monday. A service man came on Tuesday (Granville **). He came late. He trudged through my house with mud and looked at my paperwork for the stove. He poked at the broken glass and tiny pieces fell on the floor. He took pictures, closed the door, took a picture of the serial number, kicked the tiny of pieces of glass off his work boot and proceeded to leave my house. I stopped him and asked if the repair was getting done today. He said something about the LG company. I said, “Could you please tell me if the repair is getting done today?” He said, Call the company tomorrow. I said, “Tomorrow, I want my stove done today.” He said, Call the company. I cant do no more. I immediately called LG and they said, Werent you told to call tomorrow? I said, “I want to know today.” They put me on hold and said they would call the service man. When they came back on the phone, they said, “The service man notified us that it was negligence on your part that the oven glass broke.” Was it on my part? I put something in to cook. The glass shattered only on the inside pane of glass and blew apart into tiny pieces that flew all over my floor when I opened it. And I have a small child that could have been badly injured if he was playing near this monstrosity of a product. A service man came, poked his finger at the broken glass and more pieces fell on my spotless floor. He kicked his heel to make the ones on his boot fall off onto my floor and walked away leaving them there. And Im into day six without a stove and your company is telling me I can get it repaired if I pay for it. Should I pay for it? I dont even think this stove is safe with new glass. Something caused that glass to blow apart, whether the thermostat let the temperature get too high, the glass wasnt properly sealed, or the complete stove is defective. One thing is certain. I did nothing wrong to cause this to happen. And the replies I keep getting, that are made to make me feel like a liar, are totally sickening. I have LG washer and dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, stove, and seven wall unit air conditioners. And you mean to tell me that I never made a single complaint. But the one and only time I do, Im at fault? Did I deliberately or by mistake broke a window out of my oven? Absolutely not. I bought all these products in good faith. I even bought extended warranties on some. At the first sign of trouble, your company turns its nose up at me. What a disgrace!

I have a failed linear compressor on a $2500 LG refrigerator after only two years. Trying to schedule service or a claim through LGs website has not been helpful at all. The local repair tech said that they have seen multiple failures on LG compressors and that there are even one or two class action lawsuits against LG for the premature compressor failures. I recently moved into a new house that came with 1 HE LG Washer & 1 HE LG Dryer (Model DLE2150S). When I saw it was an LG brand coming into the house, I knew that I would be in lots of trouble. Needless to say, a little over a month of moving in and our HE dryer now does not turn on. I looked the simple troubleshooting in the manuals and it did not work. I then turned to the worst customer service I have ever experienced.I called LG Canada. I got to this lady who then proceeded to ask me what was wrong. I informed her and she asked me if I have unplugged it. I told her yes I have and plugged it back in. She asked me Well, Maam, how long did you unplug it? and I replied (knowing most computers take 10 sec to reload) 10 seconds. She replied, Oh no Maam, you must unplug for 30 min at least. Well how the heck was I supposed to know? After you do that, then plug it back in to reset and if it still has trouble turning on, which I highly doubt it will, you must contact sellers warranty. Well needless to say, it still doesnt turn on. Thanks for your useless and crappy service LG!

So excited to renovate kitchen. Never had LG appliance but heard great thin
So excited to renovate kitchen. Never had LG appliance but heard great things so invested in ALL LG appliances: French door fridge, gas range, dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer. Fridge: Linear compressor went out at 9 months. 20 phone calls and runaround before I could get LG to agree to service. Now, 6 months later, FF and E code seemingly freezer fan motor is defective. LG service tells me to unplug it for 8 hours and let it defrost all over My hardwood floors and “just put down towels.” And... If that doesn’t work, you need a new motor. BTW: The fridge to the floor is about 1/2 inch so no room for a towel.Gas’s range: Buyer beware. The knobs to light the stove will ignite if you lean on them and then slight turn. People with small kids are taking the knobs off. That is how easy it is to ignite the stove. Just last night my guest almost caught her sleeve on fire from leaning on a knob when talking to another friend. This stove needs recalled. I have tried but fell to deaf ears. Someone is going to be seriously burned, just a matter of time.Stove: Front started rusting 3 months after I got it. Of course they claimed user error. At that time only had used it about 10 times. Inside looked liked it had never been used. Got some of it off but still can see it. Washer: If you don’t clean the rubber gasket EVERY time you use the washer, water will run out the front. So far, knock on wood, love the dishwasher, microwave and dryer.Have had many defective things before and the difference is the service; standing behind products, great customer service, no hassle. That’s what keeps my business. I understand not everything is perfect, but take care of it and you will keep my business. LG FAILS in ALL OF THE ABOVE. Try to get ahold of them and when you finally do, it turns into us vs. them. Sooo disappointed and sick to my stomach knowing I now have another fail code on my fridge to deal with. I’m going back to Samsung. Much better quality and service.

When the machine cycles on it will pump water out of the soap drawer at times. Sometimes when it is started and other times when it goes into rinse mode, flooding the drawer below the washing machine and the floor. It took several calls to a person who did not want to send a service tech. He told us it was because we were using a wrong detergent. That is a perfect example of how little he knows about the product. When we finally got a service tech to come out and look at it, the problem did not show up while he was here and he had no idea what was happening. So although he was a very nice person he was not schooled in the product then he was sent out to troubleshoot. There has to be a troubleshoot guide that is developed from other repairs done in the field. My washing machine is not the only one pumping water on the floor. It Cost 89.00 for the service call.
