Product Reviews:

We bought two new LG washing machines, one for our daughter and one for us
We bought two new LG washing machines, one for our daughter and one for us in 2010. Last year, after 6 years, our daughters LG washing machine broke down. This year, yesterday, our 7 year old LG washing machine broke down - in each case it was the motor - you could hear the defective motor. The motors are specifically labeled on the machines as being guaranteed for 10 years. We went out and bought a Samsung washing machine and dryer the same day as the breakdown, expecting the LG dryer at 7 years was not reliable either. Oh yes. There are only the two of us - retired man and wife - living in the house so the machines are not used that much. If we were a family with small kids, the washing machine doubtless would have broken down much sooner. I wonder if the executives running the LG operation are reading these consumer posts? They should. Word gets around.

I purchased an LG Washer and Dryer a year ago. After reading all the complaints, I think I am lucky. I just hope I dont experience the problems others have. My problem is cosmetic. l love the washer but the lip on the washer is disintegrating. I contacted LG with pictures and was told that the product was not defective. They blamed it on customer abuse.

Dont buy the LG High Capacity expensive washer. It doesnt clean your clothes, musty/wet dog smell. It doesnt fill with enough water to wash a hand towel. It calls for less soap, but sometimes the soap doesnt dispense all. Every load gets the UE code, uneven load and you have to open and shuffle clothes so wash time is over an hour and half. Was told by friends to pour vinegar in every load, or add bleach every time you wash, leave the lid open or mold grows in it!So I had LG rep visit and here is what I was told. Do not fill to line as specified, only 2 tablespoons of detergent, no more. You cannot wash a load too large, only a medium, fill clothes only half way. You CANNOT wash large towels, blankets or comforters in these washers. You have to add white vinegar. Leave the top open always or mold will grow. Every month you need to press tub clean and add special cleaning tablets. So basically, this efficient washer saves on water and detergent, but you have to spend your money on vinegar, cleaning tablets and dry cleaner for bulky items. Then he added this kicker: Blame the government because they have high restrictions on making washers more efficient for environment, they have to make them work bad. Apparently, the European LG washer is awesome, no restrictions. Go back to Sears, buy a Kenmore with an agitator and have clean clothes.

First time buyer - Purchased brand new suite of Lg appliances. Front burner dials on stovetop are a huge fire hazard. Our dog apparently was trying to get to something that was on the stovetop and was able to turn a burner on. Our whole house was filled with thick smoke and soot and almost went up in flames. Luckily we arrived home when we did - to save the dog and before it took the whole house up. Brand new stove top cracked and ruined and a whole house of ash to scrub - including all my brand new white cabinets from my kitchen remodel. Then, as I was leaning over the stove to wipe off the under cabinets my hip turned a burner on. These burners dials are a major fire hazard.

My dishwasher was brand new when I bought my house in 2017. They did a whole LG kitchen. This is now my nightmare. The dishwasher never worked from the first time I tried it. I called LG who gave me the runaround. I even called Home Depot. More runaround. When LG finally sent someone out this guy was shady and said the dishwasher was dirty. I never saw or heard from him again. Now my compressor in the LG fridge is out after 28 months.

LG Washing Machine model WT1101C - After 2 years of normal use this machine failed. It was sold as heavy duty. Under normal use the drive shaft broke off inside unit. Called customer service and was advised to call service tech in our area, he never returned call. Under the LGs useless warranty they stated we would have to pay for service call. Filed complaint with BBB and went no where. Also, supplied pics of receipt and broken part. They offered a possible courtesy visit from tech and would not supply replacement part or refund. Guess they will go out of business if they had to honor their warranty for all the POSs they are unloading on the consumers. No customer service or ethics to this company. No stars for this company. Will never buy LG brands again!!!

From the very 1st week I use the machine, clothes never smells fresh. The washing cycles are too long and honestly I dont think it saves me any water. But the worst is the smell. I use softener drying sheets and my clothes smells like mold. My husband hates the smell especially in the towels! I would never recommend a front loader and definitely not an LG brand. I had the worst customer service. Im ready just to take a big loss on this machine. The water pump went out, just 3 months after my service contract had ended figures! Had the pair for only 5 years and already had problems with washer 3 times! I hate it!

I’ve known about LG for a long time and I like the door within door feature of the refrigerator as well as the bridge section with the long, narrow door. You could put something real wide in the fridge. The quality is good even though I had an issue to begin with. I travel for work so it’s hard for me to know when I’m gonna be home. Scheduling was hard but when I was home for a week and did schedule, I never got a callback from the technician on when they were gonna come out. It was dropped so, it was another month again until I was able to call and find out what was going on. Then it was still a few days later. But when they came out, they did a great job. So, I had no complaints and I’m gonna be buying one for my new house.

Purchased LMXS30776S/02 fridge from H. H. Gregg in May of 2016, actually delivered in July. We were replacing a 10-year old Frigidaire gallery/professional side-by-side that was difficult to open fully due to our kitchen configuration. Aside from an occasional evaporator fan failure ($10.00 and 20 minute fix for a novice like myself), it never gave us a single problem and was a beautiful unit. The salesman raved about the durability of the LG linear compressor. We opted for a 5-year extended warranty (which is now defunct as the company that services this will not answer customer requests via their web page... which is the only form of contact). It began on 04/16/2019 and ended in the complete lack of cooling sometime around midnight. The fan is running, compressor is running but noisy, no cooling, coils room temperature. I attempted to contact LG, but they dont answer the phone... They send you a troubleshooting email and then refer you to expensive 3rd party repair services once out of the 1 year (criminal) parts and labor warranty. Looking at parts, a compressor for an average fridge (in a kit with isolators, drier, harnesses, valve, etc) is around $150.00 for the average Electrolux/Frigidaire or equivalent. Sure, there is some soldering. The same bare compressor for the LG is nearly $400.00 (because you can charge what the market will bear, forget being fair). The drier is an additional $60.00. Im guessing that installation is basically going to be less than the total of the parts as is customary, and then there is the charge for vacuuming it down and installing the 4.76oz of R134 refrigerant. Not to mention the warped subfloor under our fridge from the ice in the ice maker melting everywhere and the loss of a few hundred dollars in groceries. Again, criminal. There was a class-action lawsuit, however our fridge was brand new when this witch hunt began, so we had no reason to look for such a thing. Now that it has failed prematurely, I learn that warranties were extended for the few rather than the many. All in all, Id like to thank LG for being so classy about ignoring this issue and the customers who paid a small fortune hoping that you actually do get what you pay for or at least be treated fairly when a problem did arise... just to find out that a college dorm fridge was probably a better deal. Thanks, LG. I hope your reputation eventually catches up with you!

I purchased an LG dishwasher in 2018 and loved the concept. A third rack on the top and a large silverware basket on the lower bottom rack with plenty of room for dishes. In late 2020 I started experiencing times that it would stop running in mid cycle and as time went on it became more and more frequent and more difficult to restart. I had a technician come to look at it which cost $96.00 and was told it was a circuit board problem which would cost over $400.00 to replace. I was informed this was very common in LG and once that was fixed it was also very common for some other problem to occur. He advised purchasing another dishwasher.

Like so many other comments on here, our oven enamel is coming off of our 2014 LG gas range. As with other comments, LG dismisses it as a cosmetic issue. Our oven is convection and we are also worried about ingesting particles of porcelain enamel. I am from Calgary, AB and am trying to find out whether any Canadian consumers are trying to put together a class action lawsuit against LG for the above issues. Lets do something because this is not right!!

At invitation via email from LG, I spent quite a long time writing a carefu
At invitation via email from LG, I spent quite a long time writing a careful, truthful evaluation of my fancy still-under-warranty LG washer WM3875HVCA, which has had about seven or eight service visits. Both computer panels have been changed out; the water valve has been replaced; the door latch has been replaced; and still, the thing locks when I try to open the door post-cycle. Also, water continues to leak into the drawer serviced by the water valves, and the supposed anti-wrinkle option, which an LG representative told me directly on the phone is supposed to be constant for the eight hours as indicated, appears to do nothing. It is never on, whenever I check on it after a cycle.I had written a grammatically correct, no swear words, truthful review, and picked only two starts out of five. Would anyone like to guess how LG responded? They denied allowing my review to be published on their site, supposedly claiming it did not meet their guidelines. Um, would those guidelines include singing only praises of their products (i.e.. if you give a negative review, they dont want to hear it, publish it, or know of it)?I am completely disgusted with this situation. LGs email denying my reviews acceptance told me to submit another review as if anything similarly negative would receive their approval for site-publication.As long as I dont rave about this washer, I suspect they are never going to allow anyone to see what my experience has been because then, prospective buyers would take a pause before considering a similar purchase. Indeed, the only reviews, which I read, on LGs site are all glowing about my washer. Ha.

I called customer service at LG. A woman helped me with the issue. She repeated what I told her in her own words. There were no problems understanding each other. She told me a technician would be calling me to set up an appointment. About one hour later a man from some company called me and wanted to know what the problem is. The young woman had told me she would explain to the technician. Anyway I explained it all again. He said This is the problem and started to repeat what I said EXCEPT he wasnt saying what I had the said. I tried three more times to explain the problem. He got angry (actually he wasnt happy when he called), he got me upset as I tried four times to explain the problem. I suggested we make an appointment… he said NO. I dont come out until I understand the problem. He said I will look at the manual and call you back. He did that… Lo and behold he STILL DID NOT UNDERSTAND. I then called LG back. The man (sounded like he was in India) said You have an appointment on the 8th of May. I told I knew nothing about an appointment. He said May I call the person that called you. I said Fine. Have not heard back. A few days ago my older son was at my house. He said Mom, be careful. I was turning on one of the front burners. He must have noticed the large flame. I never told either of my sons about the fact that my clothes have been singed when turning on the front burners. Just let something happen in my kitchen because of the stove and you know who will be sued big time...

I actually have had good experiences with LG products and have always thought the brand is not only dependable but is just as contemporary as other much higher price. Also the features are good and innovative that seems to be getting even better all time. It was kinda wide and for being so wide I thought it couldve had more compartments. Just me but, I dont like that some foods are not separated from other because of smells and foods that are more pungent or eaten more quickly. Overall it was a good refrigerator for eight years that I owned and used it. For one thing the barrier that keeps condiments and such from falling out when the refrigerator was opened. When I cleaned it the compartments were easy to remove and easy to put back in. I only had to replace a couple of bulbs as far as any maintenance is concerned. Very dependable I would say. I sold the refrigerator after having it for the few years. I mentioned to a friend who bought it for his daughter and as far as I know she is still using it.

I purchased a fridge from Best Buy in 2013. It was an open item but was only a display item never leaving the store. We had the understanding that LG would honor open ticket items as though they were brand new. If we had known that LG (according to them) do not honor open item warranties I would not have bought the open item to save $100. I would have gone with a unopened product. But that isnt the full issue. So we bought a fridge it 2013 had some minor issues with the fridge but were able to fix the problems with a little help from videos as they were not major issues nothing repairing just thawing or cleaning something up. Well about 3-4 weeks ago we noticed our food was no longer staying cold and everything in our freezer was thawed and had to be thrown out and fridge was also not keeping things cold and lost most of our fridge stuff as well. We contacted LG to see if they could have someone come out and fix the issue as it was still under warranty. Well they called back to say they could get someone out to us in two weeks. We have young children in the home so going without a fridge for 2 weeks was not acceptable. We spoke to best buy and they recommended a repair place that is LG certified to come out and look at it. We contacted them and they asked the model and serial number once he got that information he knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. He has been fixing about 2-5 of these a week for the past year as it was a known defect during assembly of the product. When he first started seeing these issues appear he spoke to a tech at LG and the tech from LG let it slip mistakenly that during assembly of a part the worker bypassed procedures and did not install or use a spark shield. Without that part during assembly the part would fail within 4-5 years. And it looks based on the fact that he has fixed 2-5 a week that it is actually happening a lot. We had the repairman order the parts to get it fixed and we then find out that we would be charged a flat rate of $399 + tax or $425 to repair this. Parts would be all covered but labor wasnt so labor would be $425. I really find it hard to believe that I should be responsible for the labor on a product that was sold to me with a defective product. But we needed a fridge so we got the parts and had the repairman to come. Now the repairman spent 3 hrs only to find out the part that was sent was defective as well and did not work. So now my family has been without a fridge for 3-4 weeks. We called to complain to LG that first off we dont think we should be responsible for the labor costs if it was due to a defective product they knowingly put into the fridge. After some lengthy conversations with LG they have now since claimed that they will not pay anything due to this product being an open item product. They are still not standing up and admitting they put a defective part into a product and sold it. We know there is a list of serial numbers with this issue. If I had bought a car with a defective part a recall would be issued to repair this. But LG is trying to keep this on the down low and not pay up. It doesnt stop there. They have told our repairman that we said he was unprofessional and that he did not do a good job so now they are making false claims against our repairman that we never said. Plus during my first conversation with them they mentioned that you would be completely covered and you will have no cost out of your pocket for the repair only to go back on that statement and only offer my repair man a voucher for $115 of the $425 service. While I waited on the phone for the confirmation that this was all worked out I repeatedly asked will I be completely covered and nothing will come out of my pocket to which I was told over and over again that it will be covered. Only to find out the lied again to me and that they were only offering the lower rate. Now after we complained more now they are completely dropping all help and deeming this was due to the open item purchase and they dont cover the warranty on open items. I spoke to Best Buy and they restated that is not the case. Open items they sell are covered under warranty without question. Please what can you do to help. This has been very frustrating that I am without a fridge and now I am having to pay another $400 after buying a fridge less than 5 years ago for 1800. This is not the service I expected from a billion dollar company.

I have an LG French Door Refrigerator LFC25760SB with bottom drawer freezer. Today we discovered that the 2 light bulbs have been staying on even though the doors are closed and the plastic enclosure was extremely hot - both light bulbs blew out at the same time. Now I have read all about this and find out this has been going on in these refrigerators for years and a class action suit was filed and has been settled and closed. Yet we have never had a recall notice or a notice of the lawsuit even though I registered our purchase with LG - so we have no recourse and are stuck with a $1,700 refrigerator with no light inside - not to mention we had to have new tracks put in the freezer door in the first month we owned it and the door still doesnt go in and out smoothly. I would never buy an LG product again - they are complete junk!! And companies will do nothing for you!!

I had another company come out and after twice coming out, they had to replace our compressor which was under warranty but not the labor. Now here it is, March 14, 2012 and I went to get meat out of the freezer and it is soft and my ice cubes are very watery. What a piece of junk this is! And the rest of our appliances are LG! Updated on 05/18/2020: In a previous post, I reported my washer disaster. A week ago, I heard from LG (Louis) indicating they would provide a new washer in 5-7 days and was asked for proof of purchase etc. I provided that info. Since that time, no contact from LG and they never provided me with contact information. So I sit waiting for them to contact me or reply once again through Consumer Affairs. LG, if you are reading this, please contact me.Original review: After 7 years of mostly uneventful washing experience, my machine suddenly blew apart. My machine was running through a spin cycle and suddenly, there were loud crashing and banging noises, the machine flew across the floor approximately 2 1/2 - 3 feet and the door blew open. The tub appears to have come loose, smashed into the front and sides of the machine. The front of the machine has large protruding dents, the side handles were blown out and the side dented, and small parts flew out. The door wont even close because of the large protruding dents. Thank goodness that we were not in the laundry room as we would have sustained injuries for sure. I am aghast at the force and danger that this machine caused.

Purchased LG Smooth Top Model LRE30463T January 2010. Since purchase clicking sound when baking and using smooth top at same time. Had service repair done under warranty and reset oven control temp. This continued and in December the large top burner stopped completely. Contacted LG and was told it was not covered under their 5 year warranty unless it was a burned out element but even at that we were responsible for service call and labor. Contacted a service rep and was checked and told it was the main board. LG website was down so he contacted us today to inform us that total cost would be almost $500.00. We paid over $1000 for this stove in 2010. 3 years of problems and nothing we can do but junk it, buy a new stove or continue to use with 3 burners. LG is junk. Value is worthless. Never again. Will go back to Whirlpool.

LG Steam Washer WM2501h*A - I have been satisfied with this washer, except for its occasional inability to properly spin bulky or mixed loads. However all that changed the weekend before Thanksgiving when it apparently completed a load of clothes and then completely stopped functioning - no lights, no error messages, nothing. My husband did a bit of troubleshooting to make sure it was getting power (it was) and checking online. He suspected it needed a new motherboard. We found a local repairman who was able to come out the next day and he determined that was indeed the problem. This washer is less than 3 years old, and after having an old workhorse of a heavy-duty Kenmore that worked reliably for more than 20 years, with minimal problem, I was very disappointed this new fancy machine was already having a problem with a repair cost of $350. We bought LG because they were getting good reviews, and spent a pretty good piece of change on both the washer and dryer - I would never have expected to have any problem in this short of a time frame. I probably should have stuck with an old top-loader with old proven mechanism instead of trying to go green and save a little water... incredibly disappointed in LG.

Purchased an LG fridge model LFX29945ST from our local Home Depot. Weve had this fridge for almost 2 yrs now but we have had a number of issues after the first year of owning this POS. First issue is the annoying high pitch noise that comes from the compressor at times. Called Tech support and was told that our Fridge was not leveled and was most likely the cause of the issue. Our fridge is perfectly leveled and our house is only 2 yrs old with a perfectly leveled floor. Second issue is the lower freezer door will not close all the way at times due to ice building up on the tracks for the Freezer Door not allowing the door to seal the Freezer completely. I occasionally have to chip the ice away so the freezer door will close all the way so our food does not thaw out in the freezer. The last and final issue that weve had with this fridge, is at the bottom of the control panel next to the water and ice dispenser one day just started discoloring and peeling and now our fridge looks worse than our previous fridge that was 6 yrs old. I expected better quality for the price and wish I never bought this Fridge at all. DO NOT BUY!!

Bought a nice looking LG fridge 3 years ago. Worked for about 2 years. On the 3rd year, the freezer does not cool. Called LG and was able to get a technician to come out. Fridge was fixed after $280 in labor. Was told the compressor was bad and there was a leak in the system sealed system. Thank God the parts were under warranty. 11 months later, freezer is not cooling again now. Call LG and they wanted $125 trip charge plus $250 for labor before they will come out to take a look at it. Give me a runaround. For a $3000 refrigerator I would of expect it to last more than 3 year. My old $700 whirlpool fridge lasted me 10+ year.

LG LFX25971ST Refrigerator. Biggest piece of junk I have ever purchased. And, LG has the absolute worst customer service, ever. I decided to replace my spec house cheap refrigerator with a very, very nice one. I had always bought cheap ones in the past. In 2009, I spent over $2500 on this refrigerator and after 7 years and 2 months, the very cheap and chintzy compressor went out on it. This is well over a $1000 to fix. They knew their compressors were junk, so they replaced the rotary compressor with a linear compressor a year after I bought this thing. Now, I have to decide whether or not to dump $1000+ into this one or get a new one. If I get a new one, I will be throwing away a beautiful looking, fancy, worthless $2500 frig. Note - I bought the cheapest side by side (Admiral brand - Montgomery Wards) frig I could find back in 1997. That frig is still running. I bought a spec house with the cheapest GE frig in it, and that one is still running. The newest, nicest, most expensive appliance I have every purchased is dead. As a door nail. And, LGs local service stinks, too. I asked them how much the compressor would cost me and they said around $600. I found them online all day for $200-300. I sent a note to LG (mind you, you cannot contact the company directly. They have a call center in Romania, I think...) and they could care less. I got the most patronizing note I have ever a received. I will never, ever, ever, buy anything LG. Look at the reviews on this site. Look at the class action lawsuits against them. Dont go by the reviews on their site. They edit them. Worst company making the worst appliances, ever. And. make note, that they make a majority of Kenmore Appliances, as well.

The one time I did have to call for a problem, it was obvious that the person was reading from a script. They could not offer any help or answer my questions. I ended up finding an answer to my problem online.

Purchased unit new approx. 15 months ago; one of the benefits of this unit was the high-speed tub helping to dry clothes-- reducing dryer loads. While in use with only a queen-sized mattress pad the tub broke away from drive unit during spin cycle and sent the unit literally bouncing-off the 2 nearest walls (destroying drywall). The unit top and rear panels were separated from the body, and the body walls were expanded (rounded outward). The unit wouldnt fit through door frame. This could present potential safety issue!!! Beware!!!

The ice maker/water dispenser has never worked properly. It was replaced during the warranty stage. Now theres a crack in it where the water fills up before going into the trays inside. Water is constantly leaking out the dispenser. The ice maker freezes up and to get it out to unclog it, you have to yank really hard since its frozen in place by the water that leaks out. The door is being ruined due to the constant water leak. Also, the plastic veggie/meat drawers are both cracked. Really thin edges on them. Just yesterday, the plastic cover on the edge of the shelf came off and wont stay on anymore.

It looks like the compressor is almost 300 dollars and who knows how much the labor is going to cost. Im may be better off just buying a new fridge. I purchased this washer (WT4801CW) new in December 2011 from Home Depot. I have been happy with it until just recently when my washer just stopped in the middle of the wash cycle. I tried to push the power button to re-start the load but the display was dead - no lights, no sounds - nothing! The lid was locked and would not open but my husband figured out how to get lid to open. We manually had to wring out all the towels I had in the washer and then dip out all the water. I called LG but all they told me was that since I didnt buy extended warranty they couldnt help me.Apparently the guy I talked to at LG wasnt in the US as he had no idea how to pronounce Louisville and asked me what KY stood for. My husband is quite the repairman and was able to figure out that the fuse on the noise reducer was bad along with having no power on the main Power Control Board. It cost us around $160 to replace these parts and thankfully my husband was able to do all the work himself. LG stands for Lifes Good, but apparently this is a joke on us!

Did he have the part with him? No. He ordered the part. It’s on backorder. No one can tell us when the fridge will be repaired. Meanwhile, I’m using a cooler for food for our family of four and shopping daily to get ice and meat. This is nuts and the whole thing feels like a scam. About 75% of the loads will experience an out of balance error. The washer will attempt to recover by entirely filling with water, agitating and attempt to re-spin. Doesnt work. Even after re-positioning the load, rarely will it complete the cycle. We generally end up removing about half the load and try to spin in batches. We have to babysit the machine to prevent it from using more and more water. We will never buy another LG product and do our best to dissuade others from making the same mistake we did. So disappointed in this product and customer service! My husband and I built a house in 2017. Bought all of our appliances range, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator all in a bundle from Lowe’s in Bedford, IN. So elated about having a new house with all new appliances! My elation quickly turned in to total frustration! Only after 14 months of use the compressor went out. Let me repeat that AFTER 14 MONTHS! After several phone calls to the store, the customer info center the Lowe’s Extended Protection number. No one I spoke with could give us the same answers to any of our questions. It took weeks to get a service rep to even look at it and when he finally arrives and determined the compressor was bad he had no replacement with him. Had to be ordered which took awhile to arrive, a few more weeks before they could come back to install the new one. Only after cancelling and having to reschedule that appointment in which I had to miss work to be available to let him in to service the refrigerator. A loaner was offered at one point in time but I was told that could take a week to deliver not knowing that the replacement part would not be available on the first visit I declined. Was also told by one representative that we could just replace the refrigerator then only to be told by another that was not the case. I wrote down all the names of every one I spoke with and even had each one send me our dictated conversation in e-mail. They would not stand by their word. Never could I get a manager on the phone. Was always told that Customer Service does not have one. Most call centers operate off of a 3 tier system so I found it hard to believe that one. It took a total of 12 weeks to have the issue fixed Missed days at work, food loss, all the phone calls and time spent talking on the phone and getting no real answers. Was told at one point we could use a local repair man and the Extended Protection Plan that we purchased would cover the cost only to be told by someone else that it would NOT and if we chose that route it would void the EPP all together. Could had it fixed in 2 days as opposed to 12 weeks. The whole reason I am writing this review today is because after going through all of this our freezer isn’t defrosting correctly and therefore the ice maker isn’t working, the food in the freezer is barely frozen. The temp is set on minus 4 but the thermometer has placed on the inside barely reads 32 degrees. Here we go again!!!! So disheartening to spend so much money that you work so hard for on a product and to be so disappointed by it and the customer service that you have to deal with. So we splurged and bought one of those washing machines with all the bells and whistles. Rust formed around the bleach dispenser after just over a year. This is completely unacceptable. It continues to grow daily and is not cosmetic to me. I have never had a washing machine rust out on me, what will this look like after 3 years? 5 years? If it lasts that long. There were some huge lawsuits back many years ago with auto manufacturers and rusting vehicles. Maybe an attorney should look into a class action suit against LG. A $1200 washing machines shouldnt rust. If they do, you should get relief from the company not the runaround.

Following some serious health issues my wife and I moved south to Florida. Based on the cost of buying new vs transporting everything we decided to purchase new. After building and closing on our brand new home on the South Florida Gulf Coast we identified the best appliance store and proceeded to purchase what we were told the best quality Washer (LG steam inverter direct drive True Balance) and the Gas Dryer (LG True Steam Sensor Dry) which were both listed by Consumer Guide as their choice/“Top Rated”? For the record we owned a matched pair of The Whirlpool Duet Washer and Gas Dryer up north prior to moving south for OVER 15 YEARS WITHOUT INCIDENT! The LG washer came with an impressive 10 year warranty and to my complete surprise the Dryer came with a ridiculous 1 year warranty! Within six months the dryer was leaking small amounts of water on the floor and the dryer was making loud grinding noises that got progressively louder as the dry cycle progressed! In addition the inside drum/tumbler finish became worn out and marred while the vent at the rear inside of the dryer literally had the finish burnt off with excessive heat presenting a serious issue! In fact some expensive Tommy Bahama shirts were ruined by this dryer!I have called the US Customer Information Center numerous times over the past two years leaving numerous messages until one day three months ago I finally had someone pick up from the Customer Information Center that was obviously overseas possibly located in India based on the gentlemen’s accent This gent proceeded to tell me that the washer was still under warranty but the dryer is only covered for one year! UNBELIEVABLE!!! He then informed me that he would have someone get back to me within the next 24 hours BUT obviously that never happened!! Based on the pricing and the alleged “Top of the line” there has got to be something that can be done? As we live in South Florida the clothing we cycle thru both machines is very light with no shoes ever touching either unit. Based on the facts I would warn you, stay away from LG Washers and Dryers!!

I purchased this range in April, 2017 when the contractor that was installing flooring damaged my Whirlpool range that I had and dearly loved. In speaking to the salesperson she spoke very highly of LG products and talked me into purchasing a model with the convection oven (LRE3061BD). In August, 2017 the fan in the oven started making a screeching noise. Since then the fan has quit completely. I called LG and they sent a new fan, motor and electric board. I have had 5 different appts for the repair company to come out and fix the oven; however, no one has ever shown up. Each time when I call customer service I get the same answer, We will have to locate a service company and they will give you a call in 48 to 72 hours to set up an appt to repair. I have taken off work 2 of these 5 times and no one showed up. When I called the service company they stated that LG told them I had cancelled the appointment. I will never purchase another LG product because they dont stand behind the product and their customer service is horrible. I work in a very culturally diversified company and I can understand dialect and accents very well; however, it is very difficult to understand the customer service representatives and they are very rude. They will not listen and talk over you. I have spoke to a Jeannie, Rodney and Donald and all of them have the same answer... I will have a service rep call you within 48 to 72 hours. I have a refrigerator LG Model LFX31925ST, acquired in 2011 for about $3000. I never write negative reviews. I expect that from time to time products will eventually fail. That said, its very disappointing when folks spend $3000 for a Refrigerator only to have it fail numerous times. Every time we have to wait for 2 weeks to get a technician to come diagnose the problem, order parts, wait another week or so to come back replace the parts, then 2 weeks later another part fails, wait another 2 weeks for another repair person to show up and so forth. LG knows this, in fact they have known this for years. Maybe they should invest in hiring more repair people, redesign their product and only sell it when its ready to be put out to the consumer. I have a 22 year old GE refrigerator in my garage as a backup. Sadly to say I have used it more in the past 3 months than my 6 year old LG that I spent $3000 on. The latest problem that I have is that the refrigerator does not cool down below 62 degrees F. The freezer is working, had the compressor replaced 6 weeks ago. I expect as most consumers do, that when we spend this kind of money for a product that it would be fixed in a reasonable amount of time. 2 weeks to a month to get a repair person and the repair done is not acceptable. Until LG addresses these issues I have to give them a failing grade, both to the reliability of their product and their lack of response to the consumer when we need it.

Had an issue with the ice maker so I had LG tech replace it for $243.00 but ice maker still did not work properly so another LG tech came and proceeded to break the ice gear in the freezer compartment while trying to fix it. He order parts to repair but the parts were wrong and he then told me parts were not available to repair. Refrigerator is 7 years old and after talking to executive customer service, they said its out of warranty so they are not responsible for keeping parts. I sent two letters to the President of LG USA with no response. The company has no customer service and a very poor business attitude. President does not respond to customers letters and customer service is so arrogant. The entire place should close down like Circuit City. I am personally going to tell at least ten people about my poor experience and hopefully they will tell ten and within a few years, LG will be gone. They are A MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY THAT DOES NOT DESERVE TO DO BUSINESS IN THIS COUNTRY. BYE BYE LG. WITH YOUR ATTITUDE, YOU WILL BE GONE..

I have bought LFX31925ST French door refrigerator from Home Depot with extended warranty for 5 years on Aug 2013. I had to replace new compressor and some other parts from warranty which took 2 months to get the refrigerator back again. Then last month, our refrigerator and freezer went down again and this time we were out of warranty and only covered parts and labor cost were $450 from LG certified technician.I have called LG and they said that they cant help and it has been 7 years and it is common to have compressor down, but I think my compressor was replaced 2 years ago. Can someone advise on who to call to file a complaint on this matter? I have distance learning kids and having to buy food for each meal is very cost consuming and I just hope that this time our refrigerator will work for long time, but need to know if LG has low satisfaction with high cost.

Unfortunately, the compressor broke on my LG refrigerator. I filed a claim and it took them roughly two weeks to fix it. They couldn’t send anybody out and the day that I had it scheduled, the guy cancelled on me at the last minute and said that he got the wrong part. So me, my husband, and my little baby were living out of a cooler for two weeks because no one could fix our fridge. I was super upset because it was a brand new fridge that we bought and it was four years. Eventually, they fixed it but I still feel that it doesn’t cool that great. Then they told us that we should only be keeping it 40% full, which is ridiculous because you don’t buy a fridge to only keep at 40% full or it’s not gonna work properly. But that was what the technician told us. We’ve had ongoing issues with this, too. All the little baskets that you can put the milk or sauce containers on are breaking off because the plastic is so brittle and there’s a weak point in it. The design of the plastic is not well-designed. When you spent $2,000 on a fridge, you don’t expect in four years that the containers on the door that you should be able to store things in, are gonna break off. Then the replacement is $90 and when I read all the reviews, people are saying not to even bother replacing it because it’s gonna break again. So, my husband and I decided that we’re never gonna buy an LG again.

I purchased a condo in October 2010. The condo came with an almost new LG washer/dryer (WM2101). The washing machine has not lasted even 5 years. About a month ago, the washer shut down with an Le error. I called the LG 800 help number and was instructed on how to reset the machine. Multiple attempts at resetting did not resolve the problem. After determining an authorized LG service provider in the southern California area, I had a service representative come to assess/diagnose the error. The service provider could tell me that from the serial number of the machine, that it had been manufactured in November 2009 - less than a year before I purchased the condo. Now, it is May 2015 - not even 6 years since date of manufacture - and the machine is shot. The Le error is due to worn out bearings in the machine. During the less than 5 years that I have owned this condo (and the washer/dryer), the machine has not even been used that much. The cost of repair of the machine (by this authorized service provider) would exceed the cost of a new LG washing machine. Not only would the cost of repair of the washing machine be excessive, the LG service provider did not recommend keeping the existing LG dryer, which was stacked on top of the washer. So, I would have to pay for removal of both machines - with an additional cost of $160 to unstack the machines. As far as I am concerned, I never intend on purchasing another LG appliance. I am appalled that the US government allows companies to prey on US consumers with the current quality of workmanship of manufactured goods - especially large (and expensive) appliances. What happened to appliances that lasted 20+ years - or even 10 years? These large appliances that do not last but 5 years are ending up in our landfills - or having to be disassembled for recycling. Environmentalists and legislators - where are you?

I purchased this LG refrigerator on 7/9/2014 delivered it on 7/15/2014. From day 1 the fan made terrible noise. Called LG 2 weeks after I bought and they make you do that self diagnosis. The customer service person on the other end after being on the phone for 55 minutes tells me there is nothing wrong. I hung up and decided to live with it. After about 2 months of that then I started having trouble with the ice maker not making ice again. I called to be told to do that diagnosis then they tell me that I dont have enough water pressure for the ice maker but it worked with the water pressure to that day. And they tell you if they come out and its what they said they will charge you for the service call. Well again I gave up. A few more months go by and now the freezer will not freeze my food and I lose a whole bunch of food. I call. They send someone out that tell that I am leaving the freezer door open but they replace the grill assembly in the freezer that lasts for another month. Again the freezer stops freezing and they send someone different. Same thing is told to me. Im leaving the door open but again he replaces the grill assembly. Well that only lasted a month. Now the freezer, ice maker and the fridge are all not working. I call again on a Thursday. I have lost everything in the fridge and freezer. They call the repair guy who cannot come out for 7 days. He shows up to tell me he now needs to replace the main board and defrost control and that will take 3-5 more days. No refrigerator for 2 weeks and LG tells me thats the best they can do. How many times do you have to have something repaired before they give you a new working one?

I purchased LG Dryer 7.4 cu ft. Electric in White Model # DLE3170W May 10, 2015 from The Home Depot in a computer. The dryer was delivered on May 13, 2015. 2 weeks later problem start. Lint catcher is distorted and right side is raising up during the time when the dryer is working. Then is catching clothes or anything that is in dryer and tearing or creating a ball. The normal time that should be in a drying time 1 hour and 7 minutes is 2 hours and the clothes look like they exit from the snake throat. I would never buy this machine if I know what this product is doing. I hope LG will take the responsibility for it.

Nice and big refrigerator broke 13 months after owning, compressor was bad. Spent over $2,000, took out an extended warranty another $250, a year later another compressor. What is wrong with this picture, this is America, why cant we get satisfaction from a company selling faulty merchandise. Dont BUY LG, it is crap, I heard there was a class action suit, I called the attorneys office handling this and they said it was dismissed and had no further information. Come on, really, this is a real issue and people deserve to be compensated for being taken advantage of.

I have had this refrigerator a little over a year and the ice maker has gone haywire twice. It doesnt just stop working, no, it starts dumping water when the ice tray is still full of ice and I find a big puddle of water on the kitchen floor, an inch of ice in the dump spout, the ice bin is one solid block of ice. This is the chunkiest, clunkingest, noisiest refrigerator I have ever seen. I have to pull the thing out from the wall and turn the water off to change the water filter. This is the worst engineered piece of junk I have ever purchased and I will never buy another LG product of any kind. We are throwing this $2000 piece of junk away and going out to buy another refrigerator this weekend.

Keeps even temperature, easy to clean, very spacious. I liked the finish on it. Looked well with other appliances that I already owned in my kitchen. It had a nice price point to it, and I had an LG phone that I liked once that made me find the brand to be trustworthy. It absolutely has met my expectations, also I would recommend it, am surprised to have seen an LG fridge as I wouldnt of associated the brand with major kitchen appliances offhand. But more configuration options with the inner shelving. Perhaps offering even more choices in finishes than standard like fashion colors or a retro shape to it like a fifties kitchenette design.

I called customer service for my LG True Balance Direct Drive Washer which I purchased in 2012, so its 5 years old. It has been going off balance and slow to fill with the dribble of water coming from the internal outlet in the washer. It would take all day to do one small load of wash because of this. The phone service is outsourced to India. When I finally got someone who could understand the problem, they said it would cost $350 for one of their service people to come out. COME ON! When I said that was ridiculous, they said they knew it was a bit pricey. REALLY?The smart diagnosis app would not download. When I went on YouTube to see if I could figure things out, I saw the little blue rinse cap emit water on the cycle, WHAT A SURPRISE, mine never did work, I didnt even know it was supposed to shoot water into the washer. I called an independent appliance repairman who came out for $49, which would go toward parts and labor if I needed it. He took one look at my 5-year-old LG WASHER and said, These are nothing but problems, I have left homes with people crying over the problems with these washers. Dump it and get a G.E.washer. LG used to be GoldStar which was the worst brand out there, they just remarketed themselves. I wanted to cry. I spent A LOT of money on this set and for a repairman to not even open the back panel- speaks volumes. He opened the lid, spun the barrel, and looked at me and said, You have more than one problem here, its going to cost at least $400 to repair, are you sure you want to do that with a machine 5 years old? I did extensive research on these products before I purchased with Consumer Guide and Reviews. I thought I did a good job with choosing wisely. Repair guy said: They all work good when they are new.

I am so far pleased w/ my new refrigerator, but getting the right help for a replacement part has been extensive and frustrating. Fridge under warranty. Needed to order new tempered glass shelf for my model fridge. First time - Sent the wrong part. Glass is correct width but 2.5 too long. Called again. Second Time - Sent entirely wrong part. Third time - Looked online at blown out version of parts while on phone with Customer Service. They sent the wrong part again, but same part as first attempt. Each time the Model number was verified having taken a picture of sticker on inside of fridge. Clearly the part # is mislabeled. Now they are asking me to wait 3-5 more days to get a call to schedule an in-home visit. Offered to send picture of parts and how tempered glass shelf is too long. No, once the order was put in process by supervisor for technician there is nothing else to do but wait.ON ANOTHER NOTE: Im from Maine. Fridge purchased in Maine. Maine has Consumer Goods And Maine Express And Implied Warranty Laws. I do not know about other states, but is worth a look. In Maine regardless of what warranty the retailer or manufacturer gives, Maine law gives consumers a 4-year warranty and the Retailer is who is responsible and who you deal with, not the manufacturer. So when offered the 3-yr warranty, I say, No thanks, because Im covered by Maine Law for the 4 years.

$3,000 5-yr.-old top of the line LG refrigerator still not fixed after 5 weeks! Horrible customer service! LG has not been able to repair it in 5 weeks with 6 visits from repairman. BTW: ONLY PARTS are covered by LG warranty, not labor. If your LG fridge breaks the day after you buy it, YOU pay for labor, and each call involves a minimum of two visits by repairman - one to look at it so he can order parts (they keep nothing in stock) and at least one return to try to fix it.The repairman suggested on his FIRST visit that we BUY A NEW REFRIGERATOR, before he even ordered the new compressor. They do not want to honor warranty. They want you to give up and buy a new appliance! He actually said refrigerators do not last more than 5 years! My son in law has spent hours on the phone (mostly on hold) trying to arrange repairs, been transferred to departments that are closed, been told to call back tomorrow (when departments are closed), and been told that the earliest available repair appointment was 4 weeks away! He has been hung up on. He has been told that they cannot access his records and that the only department that can access his records is not open today (Friday). The repairman suggested more than once that we buy a new refrigerator instead of requiring LG to honor their warranty. Who spends $3,000 on a fridge they expect to last only 5 years?

It was also very frustrating as my husband had taken a day off to attend to this and not only did he wait for nothing I waited over 40 minutes to get an answer. Im not sure what kind of business LG runs but one thing I do know is that I will never purchase a product from them again. I bought my brand new LG fridge in 2008 because it had a lot of room inside. After a couple of months, Ive been having problems since; there were issues after issues. First, it was the ice maker that I needed fixed then it was the fuse. After that, it was the French doors that rubbed against each other so I couldnt close it. Then it was the side vent inside the fridge. Now, its my compressor thats not working; that’s what the service guy told me yesterday. I purchased an LG refrigerator on June 4, 2019. LG delivered the refrigerator a few weeks later and unfortunately, it was severely damaged when it arrived at my residence. The delivery company returned the damaged unit and delivered another refrigerator a week later. The 2nd refrigerators left door contained the water and ice dispenser of which neither worked. I spoke with LG customer service and they indicated that a local repair company would come out and assess the issue. National Platinum Services was the local company and it took them two weeks to show up and when they did, they were not able to diagnose the problem. There has been no follow up since they left so currently I am still waiting on how this situation is going to be resolved. Just bought the LG LDT9965BD Dishwasher. It does not dry the dishes properly. I didnt realize that the dishwasher has what they call a hybrid drying system. The dishwasher does not have a heating element, instead, it relies on the heat that is retained by the dishes. They recommend hotter water which is NOT a good idea if you have children. Also, rinse aid is REQUIRED to enhance the drying performance. They should really inform customers about this. Also, the inside of the door stays wet all the time unless you dry it after you wash your dishes.

We purchased new appliances from ABC Warehouse back in December of 2019. We chose LG due to the price and the aesthetics. We purchased a washer, dryer, fridge, two ovens, microwave, stovetop, hood and dishwasher. We were set to move into our home on Feb 7th of 2020. The last week of January we received all appliances except the hood vent and dryer. At this time, ABC said LG rep was not getting back to them and they had no time table on when the other two appliances would be delivered. Since the other appliances have been delivered, we have called 4 times to get some sort of answers and each time they either redirect us to ABC (who has tried contacting LG but has been unsuccessful) or they say the appliances will get there eventually... We have now been in our home for a month and unable to use our stovetop nor do any laundry. LG customer service has been horrible to work with as they are giving us no answers nor are they being friendly on the phone.
