For more than a week, the LG customer service representatives have repeated
For more than a week, the LG customer service representatives have repeatedly made mistakes in a simple request form for an authorization to ship a compressor that was under warranty. As a result, a wedding party is arriving and there will not be a working refrigerator. From failing to get my name and address, to failing to get the address of the service technician correctly (they got that wrong twice), and, finally, when they finally did send out the authorization form it was incorrect, it had the wrong technicians name and address. I called yet again, this was after a full week had gone by, to alert them yet again. They said they had fixed it, emailed a second authorization letter, which did arrive. But it also had the wrong technicians name and address. So I had to call yet again. This time they told me Oooops, this time we had the technicians number wrong. So they again assured me they would have it fixed promptly and resend it. Several hours have gone by, and we still do not have the authorization letter. During this ordeal, two LG customer service representatives promised to call me back to be sure the problems were resolved. Neither did. A third has just asked if she can call me back again. I declined. I am currently on hold waiting to find out the status of our authorization letter. It baffles me that a corporate entity could have any kind of international credibility with a customer service system which is so profoundly incompetent.

I am dissatisfied with my LG top load washer. It is only 3 yrs old and constantly giving UE and UE error code especially on special wash cycles. I had an appliance tech over and paid the $50.00 service charge and they are pointing to the computer and possibly the stator or both. I am scheduled to have an Authorized LG Repair company next week analyze the problem. This visit will cost $75.00 and it can be applied to the total repair. This is not an isolated problem and I am sure LG is aware of it and they dont care! There is a class action lawsuit against LG for certain models with the same problem but mine is not included. What? Give me a damn break LG. Do you know that you have lost me a future customer and I am now warning others to stay away from your washers! I will let you know if I am going to get it fixed or junk it later.

33 cubic foot French door bottom freezer refrigerator by LG. Purchased 2-18-2014. Died (no power) 2-21-2016. Ice maker always sucked, so we hardly used it. Today while using ice dispenser, the control panel started beeping then whole unit lost power. Checked plug in and it had power. Only the refrigerator would not work. This is a known issue with LG, yet they do not want to help. Luckily I have homeowners insurance that will take care of my $3,500 bad purchase!

Purchased an LG fridge about 6 months ago. Over two weeks ago it began not cooling well and progressively got worse, soupy ice cream, rotting veggies etc... Called the place we bought it from Goedekers online. They forwarded us to LG since it was under a year old. Goedekers made some calls but even the President Steve Goedeker said he cant do much. Unbelievable, these companies are happy to take your money but have no problem leaving you and your family high and dry.LG has been a nightmare to deal with, the first week was wasted speaking to representatives that barely understood English. Finally request someone to come out on their website hoping that will get someone to come out and help us... After many phone calls, many lies, many conversations of no one caring (we are a family with a son under 2 years old etc... in a rural area) its over two weeks now and not even a phone call or servicer has been sent out to even diagnose our fridge. I even found a tech willing to come out and provided LG all the info - found out later through another source that spoke to their dealer department that they denied him because they didnt want to pay him standard rates. They spoke to another servicer in our area and they didnt approve his rates either and kept trying to talk him down as well. They have chosen to not help us and keep our family waiting to try to pay low rates to local service repair men. Youd think theyve spent at least that much paying their employees to make so many calls trying to negotiate ridiculously low rates. Why not just do the right thing and service the customer??? They have put us off, delayed and delayed any kind of progress just to pinch pennies and negotiate with service repairmen to see who will take their low negotiated rates. SO WRONG. My advice NEVER EVER EVER buy LG, our fridge was a $2700 fridge and it is not working in 6 months. They could not care less. Dont buy from online places, buy at your local appliance Ma and Pa place. Someone who will actually care, and hold true to some values.

I have had machine (WT1101CW) for 20 months and problems since beginning. Problem intermittent from beginning and I got mad but let it go. Called within year and they did something via phone at machine. Problems persisted and I called a number of times as I got angrier and they did nothing. Problem is constantly out of balance condition and clock and mechanism seems to keep repeating steps. It rinses and again and again and clock jumps all around. I finally put on special and set spin only to get water out but it goes from 13 minutes to eight and then back to ten minutes. I finally put clothes wet into dryer. Problem was intermittent initially but now seems to be problem every time. I cant stand with machine all day so generally takes today six hours to do one load wash. Out looking for a replacement machine and when purchase will put this on curb of my busy street with sign about its problems. Company recently said wont fix machine under warranty and I must pay. Ive already paid for their junky machine and wont give them any more money. Anyone who buys this companys washing machines has to be crazy in my opinion. I should have purchased a good Sears set originally.

It has ice maker and water on the freezer side. I dont like the manufacturers that put freezers on the bottom. I also have a 5 burner gas range. Love it.

I purchased a home which included appliances including my LG bottom freezer refrigerator (model number LRDC22744TT) this time last year and moved in in August. An internal leak developed in the refrigerator compartment, which was discovered to be a broken reservoir that feeds the water dispenser in the door. The reservoir was replaced by a local serviceman. Here 6 months later, the new reservoir cracks, clearly caused by defect in the component. Their response? Out of warranty. No replacement. LG (or NG, as I now refer to them) and I (and anyone else on Earth that I can persuade) are parting ways.

I have had my LG Gas Range LDG4315ST for 3 months. The top oven undercooks and the bottom oven burns everything. The knobs on the front of the range can turn on just by walking past and bumping them. I have walked into my kitchen numerous time and smelled gas and found the knob turned just enough to let the gas escape. I have turned the burner on just buy reaching up to the cupboard over the range. This is an extremely dangerous appliance! If you have young children beware!! I have contacted LG 4 times and I am still waiting for them to set up a technician to come to my house. Would never, never buy another LG appliance. This range needs recalled. Do not buy it!

The washer keeps tripping GFI which indicates a current leakage problem, that is, a DESIGN PROBLEM. Local techs and LG keep writing this up as an electrical breaker tripping which is a problem of shorting out, or over-amping, not current leakage. GFI breakers are required by electrical code in areas where water is present. The local techs and LG want to solve this problem by removing the GFI, thus violating electrical code in order to make their product work. Current leakage design problems dont improve, they get worse over time, further endangering customer safety.

I bought this Sears Kenmore Elite French door fridge in late 2007 (Model 795.755.46401). Within a couple years (but out of warranty), lots of little things started to go bad. As others have mentioned, the plastic latches at the top of the doors broke, and then the latches for the tilt out vegetable drawer fronts broke, and then the slides on the drawers broke, and the hardware that supports the bottom shelf broke - etc. The whole interior is made of parts too flimsy to last for the useful life of a refrigerator. Then the front door water dispenser stopped working, and just recently the whole front display went out and the main compartment lost temperature control and started freezing everything. Im a handy guy (and an electronics engineer), so I ordered and replaced the main board and then the display board, as they were the obvious failure points. That didnt fix the problem, so I dug in deeper. It turns out that the wires inside the front left door that go up through the hinge have broken. I could deal with that if the failure was at an accessible point (at the hinge one would expect), but I eventually figured out that the wires have broken somewhere inside the door. The wires are apparently molded into the door and cannot be replaced, so I have a $2,000+ refrigerator crippled by a bad 10-cent piece of wire and an astonishingly stupid design that makes that wire part of a $400 door assembly.Like I said, I am a handy guy, so I routed a very thin and not too ugly replacement wire on the exterior of the door to replace the broken wire inside the door, and for now the fridge is back in business. Ill join the many posters in this blog who will steer clear of all LG appliances in the future.

1st dishwasher faulty control panel. LG wanted us to wait for 3.5 months for part. I had to raise bloody hell before they agreed maybe this was a touch unreasonable. Luckily Lowes mgmt was outstanding and took machine back and gave us replacement. Installation number two completed to find door latch assembly faulty and after LG needing two different repair people to verify this machine too is a piece of crap the new door assembly part will not be available for 40 days from now and will not replace machine and expect us to wait for their repairs. Why oh why did I not read recent reviews of LG products. I have all LG appliances in my home that I have had for over 10 years. Now reviews say newer LG products a consumer is lucky to get 3 years. Calling all consumers... Vote with your $$, stop buying LG and lets put this company out of business.

Two months ago the washer filled up and would not spin or drain. I had to have one of the kids wring the water out of the clothes pc by pc. I contacted a friend that did appliance repairs and asked for some help. He wasnt able to arrive for a week, after which time it was discovered it was the drum of the washer. I contacted LG and they said not to worry that it would be covered as a lifetime coverage. Great! Next problem I bought this off of co-worker and his partner that they had it for about a year prior but was going into a home foreclosure and sold it to me. I didnt ask for the receipt at that time not thinking it was an issues as they bought it at our local Home Depot just around the corner from us both. So as I am speaking with the LG Rep on the phone, she takes my info and then says okay I have everything I need, now we just need your tech to call in the repair call so it can be further processed. I explained the whole story as I did not have receipt and that it was never called in as I was the owner. She said thats okay, not to worry, that wouldnt be an issue. My friend calls in the problem to them, they tell him okay; its covered but all they need is a proof of purchase. Not so easy, the co-workers partner had passed a year ago and there was no remembering what CC was used to purchase or what phone number so Home depot has no way to track it. Needless to say months later, still no washer and now since I am on a fix budget as a single mom, I now have to use a laundry mat to do our laundry, very hard after many years. Its the freaking drum that is cover and I can show them exactly which store the Serial Numbered Washer was purchased from but that is not good enough after one rep said it wasnt a problem. I have told my friends and family, not to waste their time with LG Products as they too will run into POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Nothing but a run around and ** just to get out of the lifetime coverage. Avoid LG if you want better quality. Go with Maytag, I had one for over 10 + years!!!!

My wife and I purchased a new 30 cu.ft LG French door refrigerator Feb.15th 2015. Within 6 months we had a defrosting problem, service man came out. A few months later same problem except worse. MELTED AND SPOILAGE. Service man came out. Kept replacing the same part. Now I must have LG EXTENDED WARRANTY, A LG CONTRACTED service man came out, he was saying NO its a compressor. He came out again. HE TOLD THEM ITS A COMPRESSOR. They thought they (LG) knew better. Finally a LG Co. Repair man came out, with a compressor. Problem solved. Each time I called for service IT WAS 2 WEEKS before it was put in, even though it was not right. The last time it was 3 weeks but problem solved. I had to purchase another refrigerator, NOT A LG. It is performing great. A GE, I HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE THIS LG for about 12 WEEKS because of being ordered and BEING WRONG part. The customer service IS SO BAD. Then, the last time LG service came out, I was charged $395 because the ext. warranty had expired. My purchase date from SPENCERS APPL. Feb.15th 2015, $2750.

I purchased washer from Sears on 3/21/13. It is now 6/15/13 and the washer has been out of service for 8 weeks. It is always the same problem, the computer board. The first time it went out, the service person came out and said it would be 10 days to get the parts shipped. It worked for 2 days before going out again. This time, it again took 10 days to get the parts shipped. This worked for 1 day before it went out again. The service guy called and said it was another part and had it shipped another 10 days. When it got here, the service guy said it was the wrong part, so now another 10 days for the parts to ship. In between scheduling for someone to actually come out and repair the machine was always a couple more days. I called LG USA directly and was basically told nothing. Not even a Sorry for your trouble. Their response was that there was nothing that they could do. Apparently, once you buy an LG product, you are on your own. They already have your money so they dont care about anything else. If you see an LG appliance, run away, run far, run fast. Just stay as far away from it as possible. We purchased an LG fridge from Home Depot on the 19th of January 2011. This fridge went hot and destroyed most of our food on July 13th, 2011. I called LG and they ended up getting a technician out to the house that afternoon. LG said the issue was the control board, but the tech thought there was more. He ordered a compressor as well. Home Depot gave us a fridge to use in the mean time. They returned to fix this on the 26th of July. The panel didnt solve the issue so the tech went to install the compressor and found there was no freon in the system. LG didnt believe this was the problem after two days of waiting, so the tech had to come back on Friday on the 29th of July to install an evaporator with UV chemical in it. The fridge had a bunch of freon on the charge side indicating a blockage somewhere in the system. We had to run the fridge for all weekend and then late Monday, came back to find it still was not cooling or working. LG, at this time, said they may replace it. After a bunch of calls to LG and getting nowhere, we finally are being told they will replace it. This is another 7-10 business days with no fridge and no results. LG informed us that they will NOT pay for destroyed food. I would not purchase another LG product. We have 4 other LG products in our house not including this fridge. The customer service sucks and response times are unacceptable.

LG WT1101CW Washing Machine. Dont Buy LG. Warranty Not Honored. I purchased an LG top loading washing machine a year and a half ago after my twenty-year-old Maytag machine made of steel with a solid lid that finally needed to be replaced. Within months of buying this machine, the plastic around the hinges of the lid began to crack and started to crumble at the hinges. The plastic is not holding up to the opening and closing of the lid on my unit. I had the lid and hinges replaced four times for the same problem. Once the plastic around the hinges starts to crack and disintegrate, the lid cannot close, and you cannot use the machine at all. Customer service assured me after the fourth repair for the same problem that the unit would be replaced as defective. The plastic on the new lid after 5 months is starting to crack again, so I called and found out that my case was directed to the Defective Return Team and they rejected the claim. They told me it has been over a year since the purchase and it is now out of warranty. I have been repairing this brand new machine within a few months of purchasing it. Home Depot says its out of their hands, its up to LG but LG has not adhered to their own policy that after three visits to repair the same problem, it is considered unrepairable and is considered to be a defective machine and will be replaced. They will now send a technician out for a fifth time for the same repair. Its not fixing the problem! The lid keeps cracking around the hinges on both sides. Poor quality, poor workmanship, cheap materials and they will not replace the machine, and now that it is out of warranty, they may not replace the lid when it cracks again and I will have a machine I cannot use that I paid almost $700 for. After experiencing this, I will never buy another LG product again.

Bought a black stainless LG fridge 2 years ago. So far, LG has had to come out to repair it 4 times. 3 times for the ice/water dispensers not shutting off, this last time for the compressor breaking. We lost hundreds of dollars in food. On top of that, my $2,000+ fridge has the black stainless coating peeling all over. These coatings are terrible. You will be disappointed. Stay away from LG and any stainless steel appliances that are coated or painted on, and not baked in to the stainless itself.

Many factors weighed in choosing which one to get purchased it because it was cheap and a good size. It can fit a lot for a small refrigerator, we have a tiny kitchen and that one fit. It keeps the food in the fridge nice and cold. I hate room temperature water and if I put water in, then its cold almost immediately. It is a nice texture and overall a good fridge. Sometimes it can get too cold though. Things almost get frozen, which can be nice but also nasty and leave residue. It also broke so we had to buy a new one.

We have only had this LG French door refrigerator since February and we have run into the same problem with the fan freezing twice this year. To make matters worse, we went through both LG and HHgregg - it was a hassle from hell. Going between two services for repair is long and painful. The tech guy came and had it working for 4 hours. We have tried everything. We are not happy with this product, but it seems like they want us to wait until theres a third problem that occurs. Right now it has, so now we wait. Bottom line: They need to give us a new fridge!

My daughter loved her LG French Door refrigerator so much I bought the same model. Her refrigerator stopped working when it was 5 years old. The repairman told her it was not worth repairing because the compressor needed to be replaced as well as a few other repairs. My refrigerator stopped working 5 years and 3 weeks after purchase. I will never purchase another LG appliance.

Do not buy an LG washer. We bought a high end LG front load washer and dryer in December 2009. We were getting LE Error Codes after about 2 years. The washer fills up and would not drain. We did troubleshoot the washer according to the manual but it didnt solve the problem. We even tried to find a repair man in Calgary but none of them worked on LG washers.Trail Appliances, where we bought the unit, is going to charge $90 for a serviceman to come out. Then $85 per hour to assess the problem. This is before we even pay for the repair! It will be cheaper to just replace the unit than repair it.Avoid LG if you want to avoid headaches and costly repairs.

First, the compressor went out in our LG refrigerator that is only 5 years old. We had LG come fix it. They billed us for a tech to just walk in the door. The first tech had to cancel so they sent a different one. However, they billed us for both technicians. This was on Jan. 23. Five phone calls later, lots of being told to be patient, and being given the runaround, its now Feb. 28 and we still dont have our refund. This is stealing. Be warned, LG has horrible quality and they steal money from their consumers. We will NEVER buy another LG product.

Cooks great! Seriously DANGEROUS knobs, huge FIRE HAZARD! Purchased Nov 26, 2017 delivered December 21, 2017. No problems with the cooking features as I love this stove for that purpose. However, I did not have any issues with the knobs turning on by just a brush or bump or even just standing close & assuming static causing the problem UNTIL LG sent a new control unit which is the entire front portion of the stove above the door due to the finish falling off in big chunks just by wiping with a damp rag! I wish I had just had my new stove painted stainless at a local paint shop as I did remove the knobs when not in use for fear my house will burn down until I noticed the stems cause the burners to turn on even more than with the knobs on so now I trip the breaker to the stove and NEVER leave my house or go to sleep with that breaker not in the OFF position.I realized the burners actually heated up when I sat my cold bag with a gallon of milk I had just purchased on the stove top. Turned to go get another bag from car & came back in to a smoke filled kitchen & a melted cold bag including the entire bottom of the plastic milk carton with boiling milk all over the stove & running down the front of the door! It took approx 25 secs to grab the bag & return to the kitchen but I had sat the bag on the ultra burner unfortunately! It works very well! Now if the control panel is barely touched by a mere piece of clothing the broil turns on HI and my oven is locked yet the door is not shut so it’s not useable but it still turns on! LG will not assist you other than advising you to have a repair person come check it out & at your expense since the warranty is out. I wish I could say buy this stove you will love it but the Fire issue is the only reason I cannot. I now cut my breaker off to my stove before leaving my house or going to sleep! Also, I cannot get an answer from LG, but my lockout feature only prevents the oven from being turned on, it does not lock the stove top controls! I paid a little over $1300 for this stove. I am going to try to find a fix, either knobs that lock or a person to rewire my control panel to prevent the fire hazard! I will post a solution if I am able to find one that is inexpensive!

First, I like the fridge. Its attractive and when it works, it works great. However, the sealed refrigerant system, isnt. The week after the 1 year warranty ended, it stopped getting cold. Fine. Repair guy comes and refills refrigerant (didnt both checking for leaks or question how a sealed system lost its refrigerant). As expected, a few months later it dies again. He comes back and refills it, AND finds a leak which he repairs and replaces the compressor. Fast forward another year. Fridge dies again, and the saga with LG Customer support begins. I call. Explain the situation. The nice gentleman takes my info, says hes going to request a warranty extension to cover it. Then I wait. And wait. And wait.I call back two weeks later to inquire as to whats going on. Evidently he had misfiled it, so they had to start over. New guy takes the same info, insists Ill have to pay for repairs, but (after I demanded) said hed put in a request, but that I should get a call back 72 hours later. I give it a week and call back. Person I talk to says its still not decided and should get a call back Thursday (that was a Monday). Another week... I call the following Monday. Its now been over a month since I first called. Im told that my request for warranty coverage was denied, and after I asked, he tells me that it was decided last Thursday. At this point, I become unhinged and unload on the poor call center guy (I feel bad about this part) about how disrespectful it is that they cant be bothered to inform me of the status at ANY point along the way, nor follow up like they say theyre going to, and demanded to know what they were going to do about making this right. He gets his supervisor to override the decision and Im getting coverage finally. Great. They send the work order to a repair place in Los Angeles (Im up near Santa Barbara) and tell me that theyll be there the next day between 8-12. Next day, no show. Maybe I misheard him so I wait another day. No show. So I call back to ask whats going on.Evidently, the appointment was declined. So nice of them to let me know before I took time off work to wait for the guy. Fine... When can I get another one? to which they provide me with a phone number for the repair place (Repair place has 1 star on Yelp with 30 reviews btw, so you know Im expecting greatness... #sarcasm).I call repair place for the appointment, and they tell me the code they have from LG to cover the repair is no good, and Ill need to show the original purchase receipt. I understand having to show the receipt, except that LG knows from our history with them that Im the original owner. Ok fine, Ill dig that out, but what about the authorization code? They dont seem to be able to explain who is supposed to get that squared away. On the plus side, the repair guy did show up for the second appointment and determined that the compressor was shot. Now we have to wait AGAIN for LG to decide whether to replace it or the entire unit. For comparisons sake, heres how this SHOULD have gone down: 1. I call them. Tell them the history (which they already have) and explain the current situation. 2. They apologize profusely for the trouble, and the several fridges full of food Ive lost, and promise to get someone out ASAP. 3. Within 2 days, a repair guy shows up, determines its a similar/related problem. 4. LG offers to replace the entire fridge since this one is a lemon.

The computer board failed shortly after expiration of Manufacturers Warranty. There was a class action lawsuit which allowed additional extension of repairs related to the Refrigerator computer board which in my case covered the repairs. The automatic ice maker failed and allowed water to continue flowing which resulted in a flooded kitchen floor. To solve the ice maker problem I disconnected the water supply line to the ice maker and no longer use the auto ice maker. I find the seal for the lower freezer will not seal properly in one spot but I can live with that.

My compressor failed while my family and I were out of town recently. We lost everything that was in the freezer section and also everything on the refrigerator side of the unit. The process of getting the compressor fixed through warranty services was extremely easy. It was fixed within a week. But, I had estimated to the LG customer service rep that I had lost between 250-300 dollars in meat and fish that I had in the freezer along with all of the contents of the refrigerator side. LG sent me a check for 150.00 which helped with the loss but did not replace everything that was lost from the compressor failure. So, I was displeased in the fact that I had to replace what was lost even though it was not my fault and LG should have replaced the contents completely. Richard

Purchased several major appliances at once from Best Buy. All LG products. The microwave did not work right out the box!!! LG refused to replace it but would send a repair person out. Took a week to get an appointment. Had to take a half a day off to be home during their appointment window. Repair guy didnt show up until 10:00 pm at my house. Replaced a part and left. Next day microwave still broke! Keep in mind it hasnt worked out of the box.I called LG and once again asked them to replace it and they refused and offered to send the same useless repair service out again. If I took off another half day. I now would have lost more money than the microwave cost! Keep in mind it has never worked!!! I filed a complaint with the BBB and they answered basically that I was not getting the unit replaced. I also filed a complaint with the State attorney generals office which I have not heard back from yet. We bought this stove 4 years ago and installed it in a new home build. The first cheap plastic knob broke within the first year. We are now down to ONE working knob. I have attempted to repair and strengthen the original knobs multiple times (something LG should have done in the first place). My question is how can a company manufacture such a great product and then put absolute garbage on the most used part of the stove. My real problem is the ridiculous price for the replacement. Is there a realistic option for this? I do not mind spending the money for QUALITY items, but to overpay for the same, substandard item is not feasible. The real sadness is that I will never buy another LG product again because of a $2 knob for a stove that is now costing $30+ and even sadder is the fact LG put such a piece of garbage on their appliances in the first place.

Bought a Kenmore french door SS fridge for my son less than 4 years ago. Its made by LG. A week ago it stopped working. Had an ex-LG service rep, now an independent repairman, come out to fix it. He made 5 trips. Each time thinking it was a different circuit board after talking with the LG tech department. In the end, he determined it was the compressor that had failed. Most folks Ive talked to said its not worth fixing, just buy a new fridge. From this site, it seems that this is a fairly common problem, and that LG makes a deficient product. Every other fridge Ive owned (and I have 5 rental properties in addition to our own home) have lasted just about forever. Lesson: stay away from LG products!

LG dishwasher stopped working after 6 weeks-refusing to replace. Purchased
LG dishwasher stopped working after 6 weeks-refusing to replace. Purchased dishwasher 7/1/21, delivered 8/10/21. Started leaking at top of door end of October. LG authorized service center made 3 visits between beginning of November and beginning of December. The unit was pulled out and re installed with each visit. Door gasket changed, door lock latch replaced. Unit then developed leak from bottom of door and AE leak code that makes unit beep until power is hit off at the electrical panel. LG then sent out their regional “expert.” He determined a crack in the door panel liner. He also scratched up the control panel during his repairs. He stated that when he finally got a new door liner, that 3 others had been sent to him with damage. They also sent the wrong control panel replacement. The tech, named Jude, called LG with me standing next to him and told them unit continues to leak and is unrepairable. He did a live video with the LG techs showing them the leak and another crack he found in the door. After many emails, texts, phone calls, LG is refusing to refund/replace saying damage was due to incorrect installation of unit. This determination was made after 6 service visits in which the dishwasher was taken in and out each time by an LG authorized service person. It was never noted or mentioned to me the consumer that there was an install issue at any of these service appointments. Nor did their expert say that to LG when he spoke to them In front of me. If it was truly damage caused by installation why did LG pay for 6 service calls? Wouldn’t that have been noted after the first visit ? I now have a new piece of junk that worked for 6 weeks and had been non functional since 10/30, when I made the call for service. LG has offered me 20% off a new dishwasher. Why would I buy another LG product after this experience? The least they could do is provide me a replacement unit if they won’t give a refund.

I have the same problem with the moldy smell. I had a service guy in today and I am going to follow his advise and see what happens. The washer is already smelling better! His advise; First, he adjusted the front feet so the machine sloped slightly back so the front gasket drains fully, then he showed me how to drain the washer by using the dials (no one explained this to me!). Turn on machine, dont touch the main dial, go to spin speed button and press it. Display should read 13 minutes, then start washer. This will completely drain any standing water! Good luck **. He also recommended to use half a cup dish washing detergent in the drum, wash on full hot cycle. Do this at your own discretion, I am trying this tonight!

We purchased this refrigerator on June 6, 2018 from Home Depot. In July 2019, the refrigerator stopped cooling. (How convenient, right after the one year warranty expired.) I called LG and they sent an authorized repair company to my house within two weeks. The company, National Platinum Service, replaced the compressor and filter. On December 24, 2019 the refrigerator stopped cooling again which caused us to throw away all of our food for the second time. We spoke with LG and they scheduled a different repair company, Advanced Appliance, to come out on January 6, 2020 to replace the compressor and filter again. On January 10th, the technician came back out to make an adjustment to the refrigerator and check on the status. All was working at that time. The next day, January 11th, the refrigerator stopped cooling again. On January 13th, the technician came out and said that there was likely a freon leak that would need additional parts to be ordered in order to replace the unit. On January 20th, the same technician came out again to replace the evaporator coils and he stated that he was not confident that this would be a long term fix. He said he spoke with LG support and was told they would not replace the refrigerator until they (LG) spent $1000 on repairs. The technician from Advanced Appliance stated that he felt we had a defective refrigerator and he would need his supervisor to come out and review the work that had been done up to this point. We currently have a refrigerator that is not functional and hasnt been for several weeks now. This is absolutely unacceptable. We have had to take off work 7 times for a technician to come out to TRY to repair the refrigerator in addition to not having the ability to have any food or drinks that need to be refrigerated since December 24th! The 5 or 10 year warranty doesnt matter when your refrigerator dont work and continues to break. Why on earth would I want my refrigerator to be replaced with a new and updated compressor after all of this nonsense especially when the first one should work in the first place if you are selling a high quality appliance? All I want at this point is a full refund and Ill be a happy customer.

I have had the service man come twice to repair my LG HT5101HV washer and the first time was for the software upgrade required by the recall. I thought it went well until I started to wash my comforter and found out it would not stay balanced no matter what I did to alleviate the problem. It took me over 2 hours to finish that load after manipulating it until I got it to finish. Wasting water galore on trying to rebalance it until it would spin dry. Also I didnt realize it but LG purposely slowed down the rpms on the washer that was rated at 1100RPM to max at 700 rpms. which to me is not high efficiently. So I continued to use the model and started to read reports of what the new software did to the washer. In my honest opinion these washers should all be recalled and replaced. They are not high efficiency anymore. They use water excessively and dont even wring out the clothes as dry as they were advertised which is one of the reasons I bought this model. Yes I liked the machine BEFORE the software upgrade and didnt have any problems with it but for safety reasons I called LG to fix it but wished I never had. The washer was fine except for the plastic support constructions and if you just load the washer correctly you would never have had a problem with it on that issue. Now I have to deal with LG on the fact that they said they cannot fix it and am waiting a call from their rep on the next step in this process after nearly a week of waiting for that call. Needless to say I am NOT a happy camper right now and want this corrected immediately and oh yes, I do not want another LG product after this episode. I just hope they will refund me my purchase price and I can go buy another brand and now I not sure what to buy anymore. I know that I had trouble with other brands before this one. Any suggestions? And raise cain if you arehaving the same problems with the new software upgrade. All I get now is a uE when it spins and it was even doing that when I was trying to clean the basket. That is not even reasonable...... DONT SETTLE for less than what you originally pay for and let LG know you are not happy with the upgrade on the recall.

Was told $125.00 just to come out. If it took longer than 15 minute to repair it would be another $65.00 up to $175.00. We decided that buying another brand would be better for us. We will never again buy a LG product. Our other microwave is a GE Profile and is over 7 years old and never had any problems. I wish I would have done a better job checking out LG appliances.

I bought a brand new dishwasher & after installation from the first wash it displayed error codes. Called LG customer service several times. Finally they sent a repairman out who said the motor was seized. The dishwasher literally has run 2 times - the third time we got the LG error code which is a problem with the motor. LG wants to repair a dishwasher which has never worked. I tried to explain to them that I was not comfortable with that but their policy is they will not replace a unit until it has 4 major repairs in 1 year. I told them this was broken from the factory. They said there was nothing they could do but repair it. So far we have been without a dishwasher for almost two weeks. I am apparently going to have to either pay to have someone take it out, return it & buy another dishwasher (which LG cust service told me was a good idea) or do that myself with no compensation from LG. I even told them I have an LG phone and LG big screen tv but I will not buy LG again if they dont fix this & they didnt seem to care.

I had to remind this fraudulent company that that schedule issue has been there now since April 11 2020. They make promise that someone will call me in 5 days to schedule to fix the machine and nothing happens. I have already spent too many calls and emails with this fraud company. I am also questioning how does consumeraffairs.com get paid? As the brand disappears on you after saying talk in private and there is no option for the consumer to ask why or post another comment. I plan to buy another washer /dryer if this fraud company is unable to fix my machine by Friday 5/29/2020 and I have already filed a ticket with BBB and plan to do that Virginia consumer affairs as well. Prior history is below.Updated on 05/20/2020: After telling me to communicate in private yesterday 5/20/2020, LG disappeared again? Buying more time? After officially waiting 41 days and unofficially over 70 days why does LG need more time? Constantly telling your customers to wait 5 days at a time to receive service calls, which is actually 11 calendar days is, to be polite, an unfair and corrupt strategy. Can someone help me get a return voucher so I dont have to wait anymore? LG has proven they cannot be trusted for service and I dont want to spend next 5 years with this cutting edge technology or the horrible service. Looking for someone higher who can make my Life Good as since I have bought LG my Life is Not good without a working washer. 12 days ago David a manager had promised he will personally make sure he calls me today. That didnt happen either. Please understand its not easy to be without a washer for a family with 4 kids.Original review: Bought LG Duet Steam True Balance Model WM3900HBA in December 2019. Was delivered and installed in my home in January 2020. From the beginning continued to give D1, D2 and other errors and within two months completely died of DE error on March 10, 2020. I had bought extra warranty and service from Best Buy but was told to contact LG since first year of service they provide.LG service is horrible. First ticket created with them, was on April 11 2020 they set up a repair appointment, no one showed up. I called back the lady said just wait and expect a call. Waited three weeks and called again several times on the 7th, ladies would not understand English, On April 8th finally got a hold of a rep, asked to be escalated to to a manager which was the infamous Louis. I asked him I need a return voucher. He said they require 3 weeks of suffering before they would return.Created a new ticket and asked me to wait 5 days. On the fifth day no call from LG. Called on Friday they said their 5 days will be on Tuesday (in 11 days). Today, the 11th day, 5/19/2020 called again and first lady hung up on me as I asked for a manager and didnt want to repeat what I have repeated 50 times. Second time got to a manager called David. He told me today to again wait. LG policy is that without any help for 3 weeks they would return. I keep on asking for a return voucher as suggested by Best Buy and LG won’t respond.

My model is an LG top loading washing machine WT4870C. I bought this brand based on a recommendation from Consumer Reports. I like the many options such as water temperature, spin speed, and the quietness of the machine when its working. This machine also has sounds for things such as when the load is finished, and when the drum is unbalanced. Since my washer/dryer space is limited, size is the first consideration. Brand reputation is the second consideration. It can be a hassle to get a repair person at a time that is convenient. If the washer was noisy, that could be a deal breaker. This machine does well when washing heavy loads as well as light loads. Sometimes the estimated time shown on the washer isnt close enough to the actual washing time, so if you are in a hurry, wash later.

Purchased my LG fridge in Oct. of 2011. The first service call we had to have was in May 2012. The fan in the freezer that blows the cold air through the unit was not working, and the fridge was not getting cold. The repairman basically said that the fan had slipped down the shaft and could not work. He repaired it at that time, which lasted until Sept. of 2012. At that point, it happened again, and the motor on the fan burned up, and had to be replaced. We took his advice and purchased an extended warranty through LG. The third time the fan malfunctioned was in July of 2013. It sounded like a weed eater was inside my freezer. LG premium care set up a service call for Aug. 22, but the repairman cancelled because he had no record of my extended warranty, and we refused to pay his $150 service call fee up front. I contacted LG again, and they set up another appointment on Aug. 30. The repairman replaced the fan motor again, which didnt fix anything. The next service call was set up for Sept. 10. This time we had two servicemen show up. Upon opening up the fan unit, we were informed that the previous repairman had forgotten to reset the unit. We have gone a month and a half without a refrigerator, and have lost food constantly. I dont feel that I should have to keep buying $150 extended warranties each year to repair their defective unit again and again. Please advise me of my rights and options on this matter.

On Sat. Oct 18, 2014, my brother went into the LG fridge to get something, when he called out to get my attention. I thought it was smoke from oven. All attempt to locate fire in the oven was lean. I opened the kitchen window to air out the smoke. A few minutes later, my son goes to the same fridge in search of something and calls out with a more assured voice, dad I think the smoke is coming from the refrigerator. Upon getting back to the fridge, I opened the fridge part. It was smoke filled. The light was out. Toward the bottom of the fridge, I discovered that the egg carton on top of the cold buckets was on fire. It was still burning. The 18 count egg carton was totally top obliterated, plus a hole ate to the bottom. Bad deal.We recorded the whole experience and took a few pictures. I called LG and spoke to a rep who seemed to be empathetic. LG decided they would have a technician contact me, but non was available for the next two weeks. The rep told us that she would call me the next day after getting to work, at about 08:30, with a possible contact. She didnt. When my wife called them, she got nothing but the run around. Two days later, I spoke with a rep who was not getting to the bottom of the issue. Then I requested to talk to a manager. The manager patched the issue over to the Executive team, who made the decision after seeing the videos and pictures, that the fire was no fault of theirs. LG never sent a technician to look at my LG refrigerator. LG said people call and complain for different reasons. Thats subject to anyones interpretation. The long and short of the story is that cold refrigerators should never burn inside. It should smother out fire, not attract it.

My folks had the same refrigerator for 30 years. Ive had this LG only a handful of years and now its junk. Compressor turns on then shuts off after 30 seconds. Paid a guy $60 to tell me its going to cost $1100 to replace the compressor. Forget it. I looked on Craigslist and picked up a free GE fridge from 1991.

I like the freezer, fridge, multiple shelves, the shelves slide out to be cleaned and so do the drawers. There are four drawers including a cheese drawer specifically. I would put an ice maker in it. Also I would put a smart system into it to tell you when youve left the fridge open or tell you when its not working correctly and I would include freezer trays with purchase and water filter along with a digital thermostat. It has met expectations. I was very happy with value and price overall. This fridge is amazing and meets all my needs and or wants but if I had to choose one additional brand over LG itd be Samsung for sure.

Like Nate of Duarte, CA wrote on March 26, 2014 -- by end of 2006 purchased LG LFC25760ST. Had the same issue with the light fixture housing in the refrigerator compartment header, not once but twice. My photos look exactly like his. Last service they replaced the entire electronic board and installed a new light fixture housing also recommending use of lower watt (40 watt) bulbs. This occurred Aug. 2012. At the time I stated I was concerned about possible impact whatever lies above the refrigerator header (refrigerant tubes?). It appeared the plastic header was melted completely through in at least 3 locations. Now I have refrigerant smell in the refrigerator. Service call is tomorrow, so well see what happens but suspect cost to address what I believe are issues with the refrigerant system may be so exorbitant that it may be more prudent to replace after a bit over 8 years than to repair. I dont understand how this fire hazard can be so prevalent for so many years and nothing appears to have been done. If there is a class action suit, I will gladly participate, as this refrigerator is in my opinion, a fire hazard at the very least.

We purchased an LG range with convection/double oven and it was delivered in December 2012. I was at my home in Nashville so I never used the stove until I returned on February 12th, 2012. My daughter did use the stove and it worked fine as far as using the burners was concerned. I am a baker (experienced) and so I tried the ovens and they do not work properly. They are not calibrated correctly and bake uneven and spotty. The oven temp does not work properly. The cakes bake/burn on the outside and not in the middle. Now, the 90-day warranty has passed and I do not know what I can do to get this lemon of an appliance replaced. I work in media and you can bet that I will not be telling the public to purchase this stove. Awful, just awful! I will never purchase an LG appliance again!

This is the second microwave of this model. The first one worked fine for a year - until a few days after the warranty ran out. It was cheaper to buy a new one than to have it repaired, so we bought a new one because it matched the rest of our LG appliances. This one lasted less than 3 months. Home Depot requires 3 repair attempts before they wil take it back (even though we have the extended service plan on this one), so we got in touch with LG again. The same repair man came out and took it apart and put it back together again, saying he couldnt find what the problem was. It worked after that - for 1 day. When I called the repair company again, the tech said he would contact LG for us and get it taken care of. He did contact them, but we have only heard from them once to request more paperwork. Still waiting for the follow-up call a week later to get a refund. I will never buy another LG microwave. Very disappointed in their customer service.

The purchase company HHGregg replaced the refrigerator with a new one in Oct 2011. In Oct 2012 a repair call was made on the 2nd refrigerator and now in 2015 (thank God for warranties) the refrigerator is out again same problems. I just told it to spin out so it would stop. I read many of the reviews on this LG waveforce washer yesterday and felt it wasnt worth the time and money to work with it. We bought a very expensive LG washer - dryer for our second home in London. Worked well even though perhaps only used 20 hours a year!!! Now after 7 years it did not dry anymore. We called out for servicing AND LG direct, paid 80 GBP to the servicing company only to receive the message, that spare parts are no longer available. LG answered, We would, sorry to say, throw the machine away and buy a new one. Result: Never LG again, throwing a complete nearly new machine away, is this green policy???

LGs customer service department is by far the worst company I have ever encountered. They have had repair company come to my house 3 times, not able to fix the problem. Had told me no part order was placed, the repair guy gave me invoice numbers for the parts order. The countless phone call to LG were a joke. Last one they tried tell me the the repair was cancelled, right after the repair company left my house. Tried the dryer and call them to tell them it still was not working. Asking for a supervisor and being disconnected twice, he told me the service provider was a third party. LG was the ones who set up the repair in the first place. I ruined over $400.00 worth of clothing, because LG told me to use time dry. Was not a good idea! I asked for a replacement and LG refused to condemn the dryer. I was put off, lied to, and had been given a run around by LG And had enough. I call Home depot. On the first call told me that they would make good on not only the dryer but the washer being that they were a set. Thank you Home Depot!!!!

I had friends and relatives who spoke quite highly of LG. And because I trust their judgment, I decided to heed their recommendation. And Im so very glad that I did, because my experience with LG has been nothing short of wonderful so far. Spacious freezer, sleek design, compact, portable and ease of use is off the charts. Indeed, most of the features are satisfactory and I can think of few, if any, that arent. Though the bottom shelves are somewhat small for my liking. Theres too little room to store all of the cheeses, cold cuts, etc. That we consume as a family. But thats obviously a very small inconvenience.

I bought the washer in June of 2013 and had issues right away. It would never put in enough water to get the clothes clean. My husband works with cattle and his clothes get dirty. After the Heavy Duty cycle, the clothes would come out with mud. Always have to use the Bulky/Bedding cycle. Machine would freeze up and finally wouldnt reset. They replaced the control board and found a wire that was never installed correctly so sometimes it would connect and sometimes not. Now just this month it would constantly be uneven and finally froze up. It was the main part under the drum that controls the machine that went out. Only 2 years old and this is the machine I am stuck with. Thankfully I bought a 5 year extended warranty with it. Once that is up, I will not buy another. Cycles take forever. You get the UE Uneven Code a lot with towels. It is not water efficient when it will constantly refill to make it even, spin and do it over again because it is still uneven.

We purchased an LG front loading washer a couple of years ago. During that time, we had 4 major repairs: 2 under warranty and 1 under extended warranty. Last week (4th problem), a repairman recommended to not waste our money to fix the bearings because the next problem will be the control electrical panel - $200 parts, $75.00 labor and need to wait 2 weeks for the parts. We decided to cut our losses and buy new. Never would we ever buy an LG product again! We ended up buying a Speed Queen washer - no electronic circuit board, just plain dial type like the way they used to make it. The average lifespan of an LG washer is 5 years.

Very spacious with lots of labeled compartments make it easy to find things. Very contemporary design so it matches my kitchen decor. The freezer is located on the bottom which leaves more refrigerator room to store cold food and beverages. The water is filtered and ice can be cubes or crushed for drinks. Shelves are easy to remove and clean. The stainless steel is modern look and easy to keep clean. Overall I love the product. It matches my microwave perfectly. Designed very well. I dislike the temperature. Sometimes it gets too cold and freezes my refrigerator items and also there is an annoying sensor that beeps to let you know the door is open. It is a good and bad thing because it makes sure you remember to close the door so that food wont spoil but also its a bad thing when you are loading groceries and need the door open for a long time. I chose LG because it is a brand I trust and I know is high quality and durable to last me and get my moneys worth. I have other LG products so the purchase was inevitable and yes it has met my initial expectations.

After less than a year the display panel on my LG french door refrigerator started to peel up. Called Best Buy whom I purchased it from, they transferred me to LG. This is where the epic disappointment comes in, I understand that things break even though it has been less than 1 year but there is no excuse for the complete lack of help that LG provided. They gave us the run-around, never called the service shop that was supposed to take care of my area, never gave us an RN number, then to top it off they cancelled the repair appointment that we finally got after a million phone calls because there were 2 different phone numbers on the request. They never notified us that they cancelled the appointment so my boyfriend missed a whole day of work waiting for the repair people (who conveniently then couldnt find any of our info). All it would have taken was a phone call to either numbers to straighten it out, btw they said having 2 numbers on the request was fine that they would call both but instead they called neither. I cant believe the level of disorganization and disregard from LG. I will never trust this brand ever again.

Purchased 02/2020. 1st failures occurred within 30 days. Icemaker and compressor replaced by LG tech. Worked fine until 11/21 when we found unit dead. Unplugged to check outlet. Outlet okay, plugged back in and heard a ZAP and smelled smoke. Contacted LG support and they assigned ticket and said a local company would repair. Contacted local company and they said they had refused the request from LG because LG doesnt pay them. Contacted LG again and they started a new repair ticket. I think they keep changing the ticket numbers so it appears they dont take too long to react. So far they have assigned a total of 10 repair tickets/customer service numbers. LG eventually sent an LG tech on 12/8. They had also shipped 3 different parts directly to me, but only 2 had arrived before tech showed up. He said the missing one was the needed control board and I should text him when it arrived. It arrived on 12/14 and I texted the tech. He said he no longer worked for LG and I would have to start over again. Still waiting on LG support to locate someone willing to perform the warranty repair. 3+weeks without a working refrigerator is ridiculous! I will never purchase any LG products in the future. I also called Best Buy where we purchased the refrigerator to see if they could do anything. They said because we didn’t buy their extended warranty, they could do nothing. LG sent a technician but it took over a week to get repaired. We lost all refrigerated items. After the first repair, it failed again and took a while to get a repair technician. We lost another refrigerator full of food. Shortly, it failed again within the first year. I again requested a new refrigerator. LG sent two different technicians, who worked on the refrigerator for about 5 hours, taking everything apart. I did not have any confidence that it would not fail again. In August 2019, it failed again. I called LG, who gave me a list of authorized technicians. We could not deal with more repairs, failures or lost food so we purchased a new different refrigerator. I did not know about this site when we purchased our LG products, freestanding double oven electric range, french door refrigerator and washer and dryer. Had the microwave but took it back right away as it was so dark inside and the light very dim. Bought a KitchenAid microwave and previously dishwasher. I have a problem with the self-clean feature of the oven. I have broiled steaks on the quick broil feature. Guess what when you use this feature, the fat will splatter inside the oven. After cooking the steaks I cleaned the oven but the floor of the oven in front of the door did not clean. It looked really baked on and you could not wipe it clean at all. I have the blue enamel oven. I did not touch this area - afraid I would void the warranty so called the executive warranty dept. Spoke with Wendy and she said they should be able to schedule an appt for Friday. Waited for the call but none came so we assumed they would show up on Friday.NO SHOW NO CALL. Called back and Wendy said her computer was down but we did get a response to schedule for the following Friday. Repair guy said it should not have done that either. Called Tech department and they told my husband to put wet paper towels over the area and use the easy clean feature. It did remove the baked on mess so they told us they would not warranty it. I was so madddd!!! I called and spoke with Brenda ** and she told me I didnt need to get an attitude with her. I explained that I am allowed to cook in the oven and that food will splatter (she said splatters are not covered by warranty). The oven has a self-clean feature and of course LG expects food to be splattered why else would you have a self-clean feature? I expect it to work and not to have to clean it first before I use the self-clean feature. The feature cleaned the oven beautifully except the foot and half area in front of the door.I told the rep that I felt it was a seal problem and it wasnt getting hot enough in that particular area to clean the food. She was going to check with her tech and emailed me that it was not covered under warranty. I emailed her back that was unacceptable. I wanted the general managers number and I was going to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney Generals Office. I will not give up. I know they want me to cause our warranty is about up also and if they stall me then they wont have to deal with it. Now I just need to figure out how to contact him but am filing a complaint with both agencies. I did not know about this site before buying our products.

The knobs turn so easily and the gas comes on so quickly, unlike most other gas ranges that take several seconds before the fire lights up. We haven’t contacted LG yet but that is our next step. I want this oven out of my house before something horrible happens!

This top load LG washer is the worst appliance I have ever purchased! I cant begin to list all of the things that are wrong with it. The drum on the dryer cracked after 3 years. The repairman said in all of his 30 years he has never replaced a drum. Stay away from LG.

Soap dispenser rusts and is very annoying and dangerous to my family and probably could damage my clothes and eventually cause a flood in the basement. And I am unable to notify the company to voice my complaint.

We have purchased an LG dishwasher about 3 years ago and have nothing but issues with it. In the first year the main board had to be replaced because it had just stopped working after hearing a humming noise coming from the motor. Since then we can not use the normal cycle since an error E1 comes up. Also in that cycle it will continue to pump out the water even if it is empty. So we are using the power scrub cycle since we use it everyday sometimes twice a day. The problem we are dealing with now is that we have to fill it during the cycle because it just does not fill with enough water. You will know when it sounds like it is grinding up debris inside. After filling it runs quietly. If we dont fill it the dishes come out dirty. The weird thing is it will not show the error E1 at all. It will continue to run till the end. We bought this dishwasher on sale and thought we were getting a very good deal. Now we know why we only paid $400.00 for this. We will not buy another LG dishwasher in the future after our experience with it and reading the other complaints from others.

We bought a double oven LG range. The dials to turn burners are located on front of burner surface area. We’ve found when you clean range top, it’s easy to bump against dials and turn on burner without knowing until surface gets warm or hot. Also, there is blistering on outside lower panel oven door.
