Bought an LG washer under the Kenmore brand, which worked beautifully until the warranty expired. Now it repeatedly shuts off before rinse cycle and also shuts off on spin cycle. Planned obsolescence. Was the most expensive on the market at the time. Waste of money.

I bought a new LG Refrigerator in May 2018. Within a month, I started having issues with the refrigerator. It started making a very loud noise & had cooling issues. I called LG customer service, as it was under a manufacturers warranty. For last 2.5 months, LG could not even repair the refrigerator or provide a replacement. Highly unprofessional customer service, as the updated provided by them changes every week. Considering my experience, I will never buy LG products.

Worst product, worst customer service Ever!! Will never buy again. My fridge is 3 years old. Over one week ago I woke up to water on our wood floor and our fridge all of a sudden no longer working. We called LG immediately to get it repaired and we were told that the first available appointment was over one week away. We scheduled it. I then went out and bought a brand new fridge so that my family can eat. We had to throw away a ton of food that we actually just bought the night before. Everything in our fridge was ruined. We spent the next week eating out of a mini fridge and eating out. Finally our repair date came and the REAPAIRMAN NEVER SHOWED UP! We were left again calling LG and getting no response because they were closed and have no after hours call center. I had to wake up the next morning at 6am to get on the phone to track down why my service did not take place and get so frustrated so that the repair service sent their best technician to smooth things over for LG. After multiple calls, all you get is a call center where NO ONE knows any information at all. They have to escalate through a portal to have someone call you back. I am still without a fridge. I leave on vacation tomorrow and nothing has been resolved because the technician could not fix our fridge, because the motherboard is broken on it. 3 years old! The compressor - BROKEN! The Freon - BROKEN!! A FILTER - BROKEN!!!. THE MOTHERBOARD - BROKEN. I asked the tech why, and he said LG is a BAD company, they always break. Now we have to wait for another shipment to arrive because LG couldnt get their act together in the first place. I have missed multiple days of work, purchased a new fridge. Lost hundreds and hundreds of dollars in food and condiments and purchases from around the world we had in our fridge. I am so pissed and frustrated that I cannot contain it and my head is exploding. I was told by a supervisor that my complaint was not able to processed because the tech didnt write it in the notes properly and that LG has policies. And all she kept on saying was, I understand!! DO you understand???? Do you come home every night to a fridge that is broken in your kitchen? Did you throw out trash bag after trash bag of food because your fridge suddenly stopped working? Did you miss multiple days of work so that you can sit at your house waiting for a repairman to come and never show up?? Did you go by a second fridge for your home? You understand how frustrating it is to sit on the phone for hours and repeat your story to new customer service rep who has NO POWER to do anything and then tell you at the end of it, I will escalate your request and I understand. You dont understand! LG is a terrible company, a terrible product with terrible follow through. I am still waiting for someone with authority to call me back and handle this properly and have some answers for me!! Do yourself a favor a never get an LG product. If I could rate you as a negative, I most definitely would!!!

I have exhausted every option to resolve this matter regarding our LG washer/dryer. Purchased at Home Depot (approx. 2010) with the additional warranty. Upon numerous issues with delivery, installation, drainage, mold, mildew, build up, seals, etc.. Home Depot hires an outside source/third party vendor for service. Just the phone calls alone feel like theyve taken years off my life! The call center that handles the calls is obviously outsourced and makes for major language barriers. We had numerous repairmen assist with the issues. Not one time was there any resolution. We have a family of five and Im blessed as the Laundry Goddess. I have a generic disease and have recently been diagnosed with lupus. My health is taking a toll on everyday chores. These less than desirable machines add unwanted frustrations. I look forward to a resolution!

I would love to give it to them, but LG put it on the back of the machine. I cannot move the thing to get the serial number and they will not set up a repair until I do. My 5 year old refrigerator suddenly stopped working. A technician came out the next day and determined the compressor had failed. I was shocked because compressors typically can last over 20 years. After doing some research I come to find out that this is a widespread problem with LG and possibly some other brands that use this Linear type compressor. LG knows about the problem, and continues selling this product. To make matters worse, they are or have been installing the same type compressor as a replacement which will likely fail again in a short time.LG - listen this is no picnic when you lose hundreds of dollars of food. I spent over $3,000 for what I was led to believe to be a top quality refrigerator. Though the compressor is under warranty, LG said the labor is not because its 5 years and a few weeks, are you kidding? I am not pleased to have to shell out $550 in labor on top of the cost of the lost food. If this is how you treat your customers, you can rest assure LG will not be my appliance brand of choice.

We called LG service on Sunday to repair our 6 year old french door refrigerator. With the holiday, they said that they couldnt get someone here until Tuesday, so we made an appointment for Tuesday between 8 & noon. When no one showed up we called again and they said that they were having problems and couldnt get someone here until Wednesday pm. When we asked for a refund of our $300 charge on our credit card they said we had to go through some complicated BS and it would probably take 3 days for the credit to process! Will NEVER buy another LG appliance again!

Cost was the purchase factor. I dont care for the ability on choosing cycles. I look for the material that the tub is made from. Also prefer top load over front load. I will never purchase a Maytag or Sears brand product. For me a lot depends on the amount of attention and service I get with sales rep and delivery. Thats why Sears is dead to me! Top loader LG w/ stainless steel tub/ non stackable - I feel the value of my LG products are in line with the going rate. Cleans well. Dont care for the tangled and knotted clothes at the end of the cycle. Finish quality and look of the appliances all OK.

I have had my LG Side by Side fridge for 8 years. I paid $2,400 dollars for it on sale. Since that time have replaced 3 motors and the drawer pull mechanism. Right now I use packing tape and 12 can packs of Coke to keep the freezer drawer closed. Still there is water dripping in my top side by side portion. Makes no sense because the freezer is below. I have stopped even trying to use the ice maker. No water connected. Never again will I buy this brand. Total lack of concern for customer experiences or seemingly providing a quality product. I will shout to anyone who listens RUN FROM LG!!

We recently purchased an LG washing machine, model WT1001CW. Overall, we are pleased with its design and function. It is very quiet (despite what some say about excessive noise), and for the most part it cleans okay. However, today, my wife put in some heavily soiled clothes, after an afternoon of working in her garden. These clothes were definitely dirty, but no different from clothes that we had washed dozens of times before in our previously-owned Kenmore agitator washer. Surprise! The claims we had read about that said the new impeller-type washer just didnt clean all that well are TRUE! As I write this, my wife is running the same clothes through a wash cycle for the THIRD TIME. This may not necessarily be an LG problem, but a problem with the basic concept of impeller washers. I will NEVER buy one again (unless that is all that I can buy). Sometimes new is not better.

Extremely unhappy is a understatement! Started rusting after a couple of years surrounding the bleach dispenser and now at just 5 years old it is continuing to rust around the entire washer to the soap dispenser. Ive never seen anything like this happen ever in any washer Ive previously owned. Not every cycle washes correctly! I would call it a manufacturers defect but LG does not see it that way! After 5 years of normal use, the oven in my LG LRE30955ST electric range stopped working (cut off during use). I paid the LG technician $260 in March 2013 to fix it. After 1 month, it started to malfunction, but the malfunction was sporadic. Two months after the repair, the oven started running up to maximum temperature during use and burning whatever was in the oven. I called LG and they sent out the same technician. He changed all control boards and relay boards. He tested the oven and said it now works. I tried to use the oven a couple of days later and it would not turn on. I did a reset. This happened a few times so I did not trust to use the oven. Then on July 4th, I cooked ribs on the grill and turned the oven to warm to keep the ribs warm. The oven ran out of control, but I discovered the smoking oven before the ribs were ruined. I called LG and they argued with me for 1 hour before agreeing to send a technician out to look at the problem. They wanted to troubleshoot it over the phone... You know, the normal BS... is it plugged in, are the oven racks properly placed, did you turn it on properly, etc. The kind of things that makes you angry. LG has a recall on this model, but they say my problem is not related to the recall. They will have to charge me again for fixing the problem. Anyway, long story short... dont buy LG appliances. They are poorly designed and they are poorly supported. The tech is coming out again, but I doubt that it will be properly fixed. I expect that I will toss my 5-year-old, $1,500 range in the trash and buy a different brand.

The fridge is only 9 months old and has been repaired 5 times already since the third month of the purchase. I have to fight them every time I ask for a technician. Consumers beware when purchasing an LG appliance! If you are remotely mechanically inclined and prefer to save money and repair things yourself, LG is not the manufacturer for you. A little over a year ago LG decided that they will not sell replacement parts to the general public forcing you to call an authorized service center to come to your house at your expense to repair your appliance no matter how small or simple a fix.Recently I needed to replace an $8 tumbler roller on our LG Tromm dryer that had worn and was making noise. It is about a 30 minute fix and requires a screwdriver and two wrenches. LG Canada nor any of its authorized service centers would sell me the part even though I had already removed it and was ready to install a new one. The parts are sold in the USA but every company that sells the part will not ship to Canada. My only options are to either bend to these unfair practices by LG or junk the dryer and buy a new one - albeit a different brand!

Two weeks the parts came in and two men worked all day and it still didnt work but I was still charged. The repair man said it may have been a bad board and ordered another one. It came in but he ordered the wrong one. Now another two weeks and it is to be installed tomorrow. The service dept at Freds said they will sell me another one at their cost. BFD just cant get anyone to show some responsibility. LG service is a joke and the people I spoke to were rude and told me too bad there is nothing I can do. Anyone want to start a lawsuit?

We bought LG refrigerator in 2016, and it failed in about two years. Took a long time for the LG technician to come in, who replaced the compressor and told us that he was working day in and day out fixing the same problem for other customers. He also told us that even with the replaced compressor, it could fail again in 6 months. At the time, we didnt pay too much attention to that, but it turned out what he said was true. Just 6 months after the repair, the refrigerator failed again. Looking up online the experiences from others, now Im convinced that LG knew the problem all along, and what they have been doing is basically deferring the problem, at the expenses of its customers. Now it looks like they dont even have in-house resource to fix our problem, instead they sent a 3rd-party contractor to fix our fridge, from whom we are getting even worse experience. While he boasted about how the first repair wasnt done well, and promised us he fixed the problem, his two attempts didnt fix it, and we are scheduled for his 3rd visit.LG service claims they are not going to provide us replacement or refund. What they can do is to give us repairs, which is likely from the same repair person and with long lead time every time. Its been almost a month since the fridge broken down, and the entire household has been living on the small 2-door fridge we bought when the fridge first broken down. I dont know how long this is going to last, but I know it wont be long before I have to resort to legal actions.

I purchased an LG Refrigerator the end of January which was delivered the 1st week of February. Three weeks later I was dealing with LG Customer Service as the compressor had twice made a terrible grinding noise. After several calls they escalated the issue for an exchange but stated it would take 5 days & to call back then which I did. When contacted after the 5 day period they again gave the exact same directive. I was grateful Best Buy agreed to change it which they did the 1st week in April and advised if I had the extended warranty with Geek Squad they would have taken care of it right away so I bought it on the replacement. The split door on the replacement refrigerator would not close properly & the alarm for that door did not function. Contacted Geek Squad who wrote upon order for repair but the order would not allow it to be scheduled for repair as there are NO SERVICE REPS in this area. How can anyone sell products that have a manufacturer AND an extended warranty when there is NO AVAILABLE SERVICE??? Best Buy sent 3 people from the local store & they offered to replace again but they only allow one (1) replacement on an extended warranty so if there would be anything wrong with the 3rd one I would be out of luck. So today I will go to Best Buy and hopefully get a full refund and go to a local appliance dealer (who services direct) to get a different brand that will cost more. We all loved the design of the LG but I no longer trust LG or Best Buy.

I purchased an LG washer and dryer at Sears in Overland Park, KS. I have had service out twice complaining about dirty, dingy clothes and a loud banging sound when the washer is filling with water. Both times, I was told to use a high efficiency detergent and 1-2 tablespoons of detergent. I have complied. My clothes are still dirty and dingy. We have taken to soaking the whites in the sink in a Clorox solution to bring them back. I feel as though I might as well get a washboard out and do the laundry by hand.I replaced my upright washer, which was doing a fine job, so that I could have a quiet washer. The noise is louder and the clothes are embarrassingly dirty to the point where I cannot wear them.Nothing has changed in our laundry, same clothes, same people and same amount of wear. We do not perform any manual labor that would create unusually dirty clothes. My husband uses his washables to lie on the couch and watch television. I am a homemaker who hires out all of the dirty work. We both do workout, regularly. In theory, we are a washing machines dream customers.I hired a plumber to deal with the loud bang in the pipes and he told me it was the solenoid. Today, the solenoids were replaced and there is no change in the loud banging in the pipes. If anyone in the house is asleep, the washer cannot be operated because of the very loud bangs.

We purchased all new appliances including a stainless LG Refrigerator (LSC22991ST/001) from Home Depot. The first year of use had a problem with the inside of the full back panel of the refrigerator being packed with ice behind the panel even though there was no error message on the display, thus not allowing water to flow with the defrost problems. Repair service was performed. A year later, the same thing happened with ice packed and bulging inward behind the back panel of the refrigerator with an error message dh f. LG basically said too bad, no warranty, none of the problem was covered by them. The repairman was called locally, who had done the first repair; however, he was no longer on LGs service list for the area because he refused to work with them due to low pay, problems with getting parts, etc. On April 16, 2018 he ordered the parts for the error message from LG. Meanwhile, we were out-of-town and came back to a refrigerator of food that had thawed and needed to be thrown out -- hundreds of dollars. The parts that had been ordered on April 16, 2018 came in a full 7 weeks later (almost 8) and were replaced on June 5, 2018. LG refuses to take any responsibility for this problem. Their attitude is terrible when it comes to customer service. The refrigerator that cost more than $2400 on sale has only been used 2 years and has had the two same problems. It is terrible that LG knows these problems will come up due to poor manufacturing and if the consumer doesnt buy the extended warranty it is obvious that they know they will make their money by charging for parts. The repairman indicated that there are lots of other customers with the same problems -- he repairs them and knows! Sick! Very upset, and there doesnt appear to be any concern from LG.

I wrote a review maybe a year ago... same problem everyone had with the unbalanced load of the LG washer and no credible response by LG except... go pay a repairman to fix it. I read about 2 possible home-made cures... and one really works. Take an old throw-away bathroom hand towel, and fold it over and over to get it to a point where it can barely... BARELY... get wedged with all your might on top of the drum/cylinder in your washing machine and under the metal frame above it. I really struggled to get it in there... That is how tight it must be. Now do another towel... same way, for the opposite side of the machine. One towel is at (say) 9 oclock and the other is at 3 oclock. And dont worry that maybe 2+/- of the towel hangs out over the inner portion of the tub... there should be an equal portion hidden out of sight to the other side of the top of the drum. This way the towel can move a bit during a cycle and yet basically enough stays in place to absolutely keep the drum from rotating out of balance. Thats it. While the towels might move a bit during a washing cycle and end up at 11 and 5 on the imaginary clock, as long as they are opposite each other, they work. Just check them after each cycle... Are they tight? Do they need to be re-wedged in there? To help further, I have run the spin cycle only as high as medium. My first few cycles showed me that the towels were not wedged tightly enough in the opening, so be ready to re-do this part a couple of times until you realize how hard you have to work to get those two towels wedged into place so tightly that maybe there is not even room to push a quarter in above the towel. Be careful of your fingers as you do this... That is how tight I wedged these towels in!!! See photo. I have run maybe 20 loads since this cure was found online... and I have no more UE messages. I used to get a UE message every time I ran the machine!!!

Purchased Lsc5683ws electric range from Goemans Appliances, Cambridge in January 2010. Cost was $1650++. Electrics failed in October 2013. Paid $175.00 for service call and repair. Three weeks later exact same problem. It was fixed again. Used the self clean for the 3rd time only. After completion noticed the blue enamel was coming off. Also had a very strong smell when turned on. March 2015 unit shut down completely. No electronics again, but this time the oven kept heating. Guessing temperature was over 500 degrees. Had to unplug at wall to cut power supply. Feeling very vulnerable to starting a fire. Spent approximately 2-3 hours on phone with LG customer service in the Philippines. Was cut off twice. Uploaded required invoice as requested. Phoned again 2 days later. Sent invoice again. Still waiting on response from advanced team as to what (if anything) they will do for me. Returned to store for help, but they offer no help unless you have purchased their extra insurance. This situation is appalling to me. Do not buy LG. What a waste of money and time.

We bought these appliances about 6 years ago. The refrigerator gave us problems right away. The plastic drawers cracked. The ice dispenser cooling fan breaks and the ice melts and drips on the floor. Also, the door to the dispenser breaks and allows the cool air out and the same thing happens. The light under the dispenser blinks off and on randomly. All these things have been addressed by an outside appliance repair with LG parts but so not stay fixed for long, so we live with it and buy ice. More importantly, the oven has recently started to overheat giving an F9 reading. This is dangerous and obviously burns the food. The temperatures reaches over 400 degrees according to our thermometer, not the ovens thermostat. Anyway, I am hoping to find a good replacement that is not defective. It will not be LG.

LG has sent out very experienced techs that have basically replaced all parts in the fridge. They have said there is nothing left for them to do but LG insist on locating a very slow leak. This fridge has been repaired several times and It would work for a week or a few days then go out again. I have lost hundreds of dollars in food and they refuse to reimburse me for the fridge. They want to locate a very small leak, yet every time I call LG no one can give me clear answers on the next step.I have been without a fridge for months and if it wasn’t for my Home Depot warranty case manager I would have given up. I don’t mind going thru the process but LG is disorganized, unreliable, and inconsiderate to its customers. Based on my experience I have told family, friends and co-workers not to buy a fridge from LG. Even when their product is a lemon they refuse to approve a payout and instead leave their customers without a working fridge and no response. Awful service!

We bought an LG Refrigerator LFX31925ST/05 about 1 1/2 years ago for about $2300 and it has been a nightmare. A few weeks after we bought it we started having problems with the ice maker/dispenser. The ice would thaw then freeze in the storage compartment in the door. So ice would not come out the dispenser. We continued to have the problem so had an LG recommended repairman come try to fix it. The first repair did not work. A few calls later and a different repairman and we find out there is a class action lawsuit for the ice maker and we eventually got it replaced. Now, at the age of 1-1/2 years we had the air circulating fan go out. Error code ER rf. Not covered under the 1-yr. warranty. It took the LG recommended repair man 10 days to replace the motor since it was on back order. We agreed to pay him once we were sure it was working. He left angrily. A half hour after he left, the error code was up again and the fan was not running! After we called and complained, the repair man figured it must be the circuit board. A week later, with a refrigerator that is warm on top and freezes on the bottom, we still have not yet had the board replaced. Maybe we can wait for another class action lawsuit. LG refuses to extend common courtesy and replace the parts without charge. We are looking at about $350 of labor and parts for a fridge that is 1 1/2 years old! On top of that, the stainless steel scratches very easily so be careful. Worst appliance Ive ever purchased!

LG makes terrible appliances. I purchase all new kitchen appliances last year. I am not happy with any of them. The dishwasher in particular likes to remind me of my terrible purchase with each cycle. The door alarm will sound at least once each cycle. When this happens I am forced to open and close the door and restart in a certain time. When I call customer support, they tell me all authorized service techs are booked. I will be purchasing an entire kitchen appliances package again in the near future. You can bet life will get better.

I’ve dealt with many terrible companies in my time but never one as bad as LG. I bought a refrigerator with an extended warranty and the compressor (main component) died on me within that time period. Called LG to help. A very friendly agent set up an appointment with me with a company based in NJ called “Rising”. No sooner did I hang up did Rising call me back to tell me they do not service my area and they have to cancel my appointment. This is when the real trouble happened.I called back LG and they referred me to my next two non-existent authorized dealers. When faced with the reality that no one would fix my warranty refrigerator, I sought out my own resolution. Called LG to get an authorization letter for an “outside” repair company to fix my fridge. After 24-48 hours I called back. They told me they had cancelled the request for an outside vendor and made an appointment with Rising service again. I called them again and was told once again that they do not service my area and they intend to keep cancelling whatever appointment LG makes for me. I called back LG. This circle of events occurred again in the exact same order THREE times. I tired to escalate to management and got more runaround. With no refrigeration for a week I finally decided to pay out of pocket and sue them later. Here’s what I found out though. A little INSIDER SECRET - LG does not pay the authorized companies and that’s why no one wants to do their jobs. So take it from me. So far I’m out 3/4 of the value of the fridge in a little over 3 years - do NOT buy an LG product because if it goes bad you’re out of luck. Learn from my mistake.

We shopped around a little bit then it came down to which one we liked in terms of aesthetics. We chose LG pretty much for the features. Its a beautiful refrigerator and I like the visibility of the program, the temperature and those type of things. But our experience has not been good so far. The top part stopped cooling and then apparently, something happened with the ice getting blocked. Im not sure how that actually happened but we had to turn it off and take the ice out. It was a little bit of a pain. But the repair guy was really great and the customer service was good other than the fact that they overbooked the guy to come out that day. He was a little late. But he was able to fix the issue and hopefully, it stays okay. If not, well have to call LG back.

I am on my second LG 30.5 Cu Ft Door in Door French Door Refrigerator with Ice and water dispenser LFX31945ST. Price over 2.5k. Thank god for Best buy return and exchange policy or I would be screwed. After reviewing websites recommendation claiming this LG was the #1 rated product, I soon came to realize those rating are mostly on features and design. The reviewers do not actually keep that refrigerator in house and truly test the quality and durability of the product. So I purchased my brand new fridge - super excited. As a family of 5, I need something big and nice. During the next two week my wife kept noticing the freezer was not maintain the temperature. Give you an example: anytime you take out, ice cream, I normally had to let it sit on the counter for a minute before I was able to scope it out. With my top of the line LG Fridge I can take the container and squeeze with my bare hands. Call the LG tech, replace the motherboard. 24 hours later the whole fridge failed, all food lost. Call Best buy, I believed in the product and the review. This must of been a unique experience. Today is day 14 and the freezer still does not freeze properly, sending it back. Never ever will look at LG for anything again.

Bought LG washer and dryer just over 6 years ago. Had no problems till today when the dryer started to thump. I am a retired millwright-machinist and have repaired washers and dryers as part of my job for years in a large hospital. I took the dryer apart to discover the drum was cracked on the welded seam. My extended warranty ran out in March. Called the Warranty Department at LG and was told they never heard of such a thing and could not help me (I did tell them that there were hundreds of similar complaints on the internet). Called the local service company and was told a service call would be about $300 plus parts. They couldnt understand I already had it apart.I called another company and was told that I could buy a new drum for $133.58 but the drum was back east and it would take several weeks to have it shipped here, so I will weld the drum for now and order it at a later date. Not happy. The washer has performed O.K. but has a funky smell if you keep the door shut. We wash and dry about 4 loads per week so its not abused. Will not buy another LG.

Looked at the manual for trouble shooting. We did not know the washer needed to be drained. Weird, right!! We drain it often, but the smell never goes away. When draining lots of water comes out and it smells like a sewer! I hope this helps someone prior to purchasing one of these smelly washers. Also, washer is very noisy. I bought model LMXS30776S refrigerator in January 2015 from Home Depot with 3 years extended warranty. After 3 1/2 years it stopped cooling on 7/14/2018. Called Home Depot but they told warranty expired and they cannot do anything. After that I called LG customer support and they asked bunch of questions and finally connected with one agent. Again I answered all those questions to agent and asked him to schedule repair service. He told he cannot see the technicians schedule and he will give me a call whenever he can see their schedules. I am not sure what kind of software they are using which prevent them to see their schedules. They never called me back. They advised me to call every day between 2-4 PM CST to check any appointments available. This is really crap. Also gave another advice to work with local LG authorized dealer. They are another piece of crap. Got lot of negative reviews about them. Thanks LG. Stop selling expensive junk to our consumers. If you want to do business please work with customers not against to customers.

I remodeled my kitchen in 2011 and installed a LG gas range (model LRG3093ST). My range is right at 2 years old. For the last 6 months, the knobs have been splitting and spinning on the posts so that they do not turn the gas totally off. At first I smelled gas and could not figure out what was wrong until one split and lost a chunk of plastic to the point that turning it did not turn the flame off at all. I wrapped wire tightly around the posts to limp along, but now all are broken to the point none will turn on or off the gas. When I contacted LG, I was told they were out of warranty and I would be responsible for the purchase of the knobs. I told MCM Electronics, which they referred me to, that I would buy more knobs if they are better quality - not plastic. However, they are only authorized to sell original (defective) parts and they referred me to contact LG directly. After reading these reviews, how does LG get away with continuing to provide defective parts of any kind that are dangerous? If this were a car, the units would be recalled or new replacement parts would have to be upgraded. Leaking gas and fires can kill as well as car accidents. I will certainly do better research before purchasing any appliance again in the future - I am sure it will not be LG.

No matter how I balanced the load, the machine cannot get through the spin cycle. This morning, I have taken some out (that didnt help) -- added the removed blanket back (that didnt work - no matter how I repositioned the items) -- put the first piece back and added additional sheets, hoping that would enable the machine to spin (nope - still wont spin!) I replaced my older Maytag front loader with this LG one and am SOOOO sorry we did! Please pay attention to the other reviewers advising against purchasing one of these LG washing machines! They are not exaggerating! This is a nightmare! LG serviceman could not help -- told me to only place items that fill the washer 2/3s full. Doing with this with bedding only makes the unbalance worse. Not sure what Im going to do with the wet mess I have in my laundry room at this point! YOUVE BEEN WARNED!

The offer was fair enough for me to accept to be done with this ordeal. I do appreciate LG getting back in touch with me, offering the resolution, and following through with everything in the offer quickly. In the future, if LG finds a resolution to the linear compressor issues we might consider trying LG products again, but until then I cant recommend the refrigerators based off my experience.

I purchased my new LG French 3 door refrigerator March 2016. The product worked fine for 3 years (almost to the day) until the compressor failed. LG sent a repairman from a appliance repair company affiliated with LG, and replaced the compressor (LG paid for the replacement, I paid to replace all the spoiled groceries). This compressor lasted only 6 months! Again LG sent a repairman and replaced the compressor. (LG paid for the replacement, I paid to replace all the spoiled groceries). The 3rd compressor has now lasted only 1 month!!!!! LG has just scheduled another repairman to come this Monday. This will be the 4th compressor in 3.5 years of the life of this refrigerator. LG has a responsibility at this point to replace this appliance. This is a refrigerator that cost several thousands of dollars and LG markets how long their appliances last but based on their online reviews and lawsuits, over compressors, this is not the case. New compressors are clearly a short-lived band-aid to what is clearly a bigger problem and this product is no longer worth the dollars and aggravation spent dealing with it.

I thought LG was a reliable brand so we purchased a brand new refrigerator in 2015. Starting this year the food has not been kept as cold and the defroster keeps failing to the point where the fan keeps rattling due to ice build up. Been dealing with the issue for months and still waiting for the issue to be resolved via a technician who says he is so inundated with LG refrigerator problems, he can barely keep up with the demand. He received several calls for appointments even while at my house working in my refrigerator. I’ve basically decided to continue try fixing this fridge and using it as a beat up back up fridge now in the garage. I will be looking into other reliable brands to replace the refrigerator inside the kitchen. I’m tired of my food going bad and having to unplug the fridge every 2-3 weeks to defrost until the issue is resolved.

LG is not a brand I would recommend to anyone. After being on hold for quite some time and passed to 4 different departments, all by accident, when all I want is help with a washer issue that is a known issue. Apparently the unit we purchased, a top loader inverter has issues with drainage after a short period of time. The washer is unbearably smelly. Water seems to stay in the plastic tub instead of draining. After going thru the manual and reading all the complaints online after the fact, we have not found a solution for a practically new washer. Oh, and our purchase records are apparently lost. So of course their only solution is to contact service and pay to have their known issue fixed. I will never purchase LG again. Have not had issues with other vendors like I have had with this one. If anyone has seen this issue and corrected, I would love to hear your solution.

We purchased a new LG refrigerator in April of 2017. This replaced one we had for over 20 years and was looking forward to getting a new updated fancy one. After about a year our refrigerator quit working and a repair person was sent out to fix. They repaired and after a month it quit working again. They returned and replaced the compressor. Were told having problems with new compressors but yet they replace with same bad compressors. My friend has had the same issues and they came and replaced her compressor and all the internal parts, will see how long that last. Fast forward January 16, 2020. Woke up this morning and water leaking and our refrigerator is not working. Once again all our food in freezer and fridge are no good. So disappointed in this product, it has never kept our food cold like it should. You try calling customer service and they answer Lifes Good (not) and you get robot CLARK, who says you can talk to him like a person. Last thing you want to hear when you are so angry. They never let you talk to a real person but instead they send you a text for you to complete and to have someone call you back in a day. Will see how long it takes for them to call. So frustrating! I have a nine year old type 1 diabetic who needs her medication refrigerated. So now have to once again live out of an ice chest. I have told my family never to buy LG. After 2.5 months the valves and baskets and other parts (a solenoid that shuts the water off) required replacement. Even with the additional warranty we still owed 350.00 each time. Our washer required authorized repair parts and authorized service people so we had to wait weeks for the appointment, weeks for the parts to be ordered then weeks for a follow up appointment. I called LG and they gave me the names of service centers one which will not repair LGs, one that couldnt do compressor repairs and the last which could not come for two weeks. I called LG again and asked if there were other service centers and they gave me the names of two that were never an hour drive and would not come to my home. I tried calling other repair services in the yellow pages and couldnt find anyone to repair an LG. Several days later I received a phone message from LG telling me to call them that they had reviewed my case and would schedule a free repair. When I called them back the person I spoke to had no record of this phone message and started to repeat everything I had been over in my prior conversations with the service department. Currently they have given me a case number and Ive been told someone will call me in 24-48 hours. Unbelievable! When I owned a GE service came the same or the next day... Dont think Id buy LG again.

Model WT4970CW LG WaveForce True Balance. Just read several complaints about the LG washing machine. Bought in June 2013 from Best Buy and has consistently had an EU error on more than off. Tried balancing it with a leveler but as soon as it didnt like a load (light loads mostly), it would rattle loudly and move!!! Yes I put up with it for this long but when I went to ConsumerAffairs and saw all the complaints on this model. I called LG who promptly told me it was out of warranty and I could buy a one year warranty for $349.00 or a 60 day warranty for $224.00. After reading the continuing problems after repair, we are going to put this money into a new washer. Im going back to Maytag. Had it for over 15 years and never a problem!!! I purchased a higher end LG double oven gas range. It is made poorly using cheap and thin material. They used a silver film for the knobs to give the appearance of stainless steel. I didn’t even realize a metal looking film was used on the knobs until it started bubbling after a few uses. A year and a half later the bottom oven displays an F19 code. An LG technician replaced the harness and the ignition. 2 years later the exact same issue happens. I contacted LG and they do offer warranties for faulty products. Their products are awful especially for what you pay. There are so many other brands who provide quality products at a reasonable price and stand behind their products. I will never purchase LG products again and DO NOT RECOMMEND their products especially their ranges, refrigerators and dishwashers. They all begin to have issues and fall apart within 2 years and you will have to keep having them repaired around every 2 years.

We were very excited when we bought our top of the line LG washer and dryer frontload set 4 years ago. Just ran into problems with a code popping up and the washer quitting after about 10 minutes of use. The only option was to drain and spin once that happened. When it spinned it sounded like a jumbo jet preparing for takeoff. Anyway, we waited 7 days for a tech to come out because there is only one authorized dealer per city I believe. He had to order a part so we had to wait 14 days for it to arrive. He put it in and ran the machine on empty and all seemed well. I mentioned the jumbo jet noise and he said thats not a good sign. Of course it didnt do it while he was there. He said if this part isnt the problem then you need a new circuit board and the jumbo jet noise would be the barrings and if that is the case its best to cut your losses. After that we put a light load in and the same thing happened all over again. Complete waste of time and money. While all this was going on, the dryer also started to smell like burning diesel fuel inside when we ran it. We didnt bother to call back. We are done playing games. We are moving on to Maytag. Never buying anything from LG ever again. I hope the LG tv we bought a year ago isnt a lemon.

Bought the side by side April 1, 2015 and compressor is broken as of June 23, 2018 when I noticed water pooling and my ice cream soft. Purchased at Best Buy and they give you an extra yr warranty. The repairmen don’t work on Sundays and Mondays so I have to wait 4 days before my appt. Originally they wanted to schedule me for July 2 which is 1 1/2 wks away. My refrigerator is mildly cool and the freezer has stopped freezing. I paid extra for LG unit which advertised their quiet linear compressor. I am very dissatisfied that the unit broke in 3 yrs. That is ridiculous. I will make sure that I purchase extra warranty for I see more breakdowns in the future. Wished I would have purchased a Whirlpool which is Consumer Reports recommendation. A few of my friends have Whirlpool and no problems.Updated on 06/26/2018: Had the repairman out. I thought it was the linear compressor but it turns out its in the closed system where the freon is connected to the metal coils. He thinks there is a leak. It is only 3 yrs old. This should not be. Another appt has to be set up and a specialist will come to find the leak and put freon in. If they cant fix it, then I get a new refrigerator. This is Best Buy warranty. Today they dont come with a 5 yr warranty. I will also plan on buying extended warranty. Things arent made like they used to when assembly people put it together. My old GE lasted 20 years. That was in the 70s. They purposely design them to break down after ** years.

Bought the WT110C top load with the front panel. Had it for a year now. Beautiful machine. Too bad it takes days to do a load because the machine wont stay balanced. You can babysit this thing for hours trying to get it through a spin cycle. Doesnt matter how you load it, small loads, big ones, mixed clothes, bulky bedding, on and on. I have tried every mode, trick, time, spin mode combination there is and still the dreaded UE code comes on. Occasionally it will make it through a load and when it does the heavens part and the angels sing and I feel like a winner. If you like to spend hours doing laundry and praying over a washer, this is the machine for you. LG needs to stick to cell phones.

We purchase this Kenmore Elite 29002 top loading washing machine in 2012. After about 4 loads of normal, not grimy laundry, it began smelling very musty. (*We are very eat clean folks...no children in the house, etc). Called Sears, they sent out repair person twice; they looked at the drain mechanism, messed with the computerized controls and made all cycles longer; suggested we clean the washer every week with purchased $$ tablets.. So now the machine that was to save money by saving water (High efficiency)... Would now cost out to $ $15/month for cleaning tablets!! They should take it back and replace it with a better model!

I purchased an LG French-door refrigerator in November, 2010, from Home Depot for $1198. Earlier this week I came home to puddles of water in my kitchen as the refrigerator compressor died resulting in my losing about a couple hundred dollars-worth of food. I called LG customer service, gave my model number and was told by their representative that the compressor was under warranty and I would only have to pay for labor. I was then provided with the numbers of two LG approved repair services. I had one service come out today and charge me $95 to confirm it is the compressor that no longer works, and let me know that labor cost to repair would be $650. That is pretty high so I called LG customer service again because my friend had the same thing happen to her LG refrigerator 3 weeks ago (what a coincidence) and it cost her $250 in labor, a big difference from $450. Turns out LG can send out one of their repair technicians who can do the repair for a total of $375. I do not know why this wasnt offered from the beginning and why I was directed to an independent repair service that costs almost double, but that is a sub-issue. What was truly upsetting was that it was at this time that the customer service representative told me that my refrigerator is actually not under warranty and that I would have to pay for parts and labor. If I had been told this from the beginning then I would have not have had the repair person come out and waste $95. I would have just gone directly to buying a new refrigerator, which is what I am left to do now because the cost of labor and parts will be near $1,000. So in sum, I spent nearly $1,200 on an LG refrigerator to last me less than 8 years and, to add insult to injury, I then spent an additional $95 for a repair call on the bad information provided by the LG customer service center. I asked LG if they would reimburse me for this and they refused. What makes the whole situation even worse is that I see that there was a class action lawsuit over the LG compressor failures, so this is a known issue to LG. Obviously LG is not standing behind its products and its customer service is sub-par. I will not be purchasing LG items ever again and this includes not only appliances but also mobile devices, televisions, audio and computers. I wanted to share this by sharing this experience so others can avoid similar losses.

I WONT BUY A LG ELECTRIC RANGE AGAIN. The LG Range Oven model # LRE383ST01 we purchased in 2015 has been nothing but trouble. In the first year the burner and main board went out. Luckily we were still under the warranty so LG sent their technician to replace them. A few weeks after the warranty expired, the glass top made a pop noise and cracked like a spider web on the lower right burner and spread. We called LG, explained the situation and told them this seems a factory part defect. They politely blamed us of dropping something on the glass which was 100% false and they used we are sorry to gently fade their fault with this. We let it go - not to waste our time. Price of a new glass top is near $400. Couple month after the new range top was installed the new glass top cracked again. It couldnt happen at a better time but Christmas Eve 2016, with having family over, around 4 pm while food cooking, the glass top made a loud pop noise and broke again on the lower right burner. Here was my experience with LG Range and dealing with the company who took the easy road to blame the customer for their defective part. Now I have an expensive LG range-oven with another broken glass top. My recommendation: Stay away from LG Range with glass top.

Bought LG DLE3170 dryer about 3 years ago. In 6 months I started to get troubles with lint screen. During the spinning the screen would start to rise up above the edge on 3-5 mm, just enough to catch the piece of cloth. Then it would swirl it to a tightrope, which would bring along other pieces of clothes and all of them tight up in one huge spiral. At the beginning it have happened extremely rare, but last few months it happens pretty frequently. I tried to level up the dryer to perfection, but it didnt help. Seems that the screen is simply too big and doesnt stay in place for longer than 1 minute even when the dryer off.

I’ve owned this stove for approx 1 1/2 years and in this time my roommate and I have nearly burned the house down TWICE. The knobs are SO easy to accidentally bump and turn on. The first time I had a bag on top of the stove and luckily noticed before it started flaming, but my roommate started an actual full on fire last night with a basket of laundry. I’ve since taken the knobs off, but have read other reviews of people who have done the same, but that bumping the stems actually turns the burners on easier than if the knobs were in place???‍♀️ Ordered some child proofing so we’ll see how that works. No issues with cooking, but it’s NOT worth the risk!

I bought a Kenmore Elite Refrigerator (LG compressor) in November 2015. It had a ten year warranty on the compressor. In November of this year (2019), the refrigerator stopped cooling suddenly. I lost over $200 in frozen/refrigerated items. It cost me $99 to just have a repairman show up and then another $260 to have diagnostics run to determine the failure mode. It was a bad compressor. Took another week to get parts (although repairman had a truck full of new compressors since he replaces over 30 a month) and then another couple days to get the repairman back out to fix. Total bill to have fixed was over $500. Repairman told me he has had three newly replaced compressors fail within 48 hours just this month. LG has a known design defect in the compressor system that they refuse to acknowledge or fix and continues to sell this faulty product. Do not buy an LG refrigerator.

I guess I should feel lucky. My $2200 LG refrigerator lasted 3.25 years. Reading all of the other reviews it appears the average is 2.5 years. LG states the life expectancy is 20 years. If they truly believed that, why doesnt the compressor have a 20 year warranty. Its baseless marketing, My dead refrigerator has been standing in my kitchen Since July of 2019. Consumers settled a class action suit against LG, but LG still has not done a thing to resolve my issues except send me a generic e-mail referring to their website. LG responds to these reviews, stating this is not a normal customer experience.LG fought a class action suit, lost, and had an appeal dismissed on their faulty compressor issues. And they have yet to fulfill their obligations in the settlement. This is the routine for LG customers, not the exception. Search: LG REFRIGERATOR CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT BENTLEY, ET AL. V. I called customer service for my LG True Balance Direct Drive Washer which I purchased in 2012, so its 5 years old. It has been going off balance and slow to fill with the dribble of water coming from the internal outlet in the washer. It would take all day to do one small load of wash because of this. The phone service is outsourced to India. When I finally got someone who could understand the problem, they said it would cost $350 for one of their service people to come out. COME ON! When I said that was ridiculous, they said they knew it was a bit pricey. REALLY?The smart diagnosis app would not download. When I went on YouTube to see if I could figure things out, I saw the little blue rinse cap emit water on the cycle, WHAT A SURPRISE, mine never did work, I didnt even know it was supposed to shoot water into the washer. I called an independent appliance repairman who came out for $49, which would go toward parts and labor if I needed it. He took one look at my 5-year-old LG WASHER and said, These are nothing but problems, I have left homes with people crying over the problems with these washers. Dump it and get a G.E.washer. LG used to be GoldStar which was the worst brand out there, they just remarketed themselves. I wanted to cry. I spent A LOT of money on this set and for a repairman to not even open the back panel- speaks volumes. He opened the lid, spun the barrel, and looked at me and said, You have more than one problem here, its going to cost at least $400 to repair, are you sure you want to do that with a machine 5 years old? I did extensive research on these products before I purchased with Consumer Guide and Reviews. I thought I did a good job with choosing wisely. Repair guy said: They all work good when they are new.

Our 25-year-old Kitchen Aid dishwasher died and sadly our landlord replaced it with an LG dishwasher. Whether it works to our satisfaction has yet to be seen; the design is my big complaint. We are bending over literally almost to the floor to load the dishes. I own some giant pots, but none big enough to justify the enormous gap between the top and bottom shelves. Its ridiculous. I actually stubbed my toe and injured myself on the open door, which practically rests on the ground! The prongs are lined too far apart to economically place small dishes and plates and all in a row, so attempting to find a sensible way to group like dishes and glasses is pointless. Fortunately, we hadnt thrown away the utensil tray from the Kitchen Aid; I dont understand the covers on the junky LG tray, some of which stay open and some dont. Its just a cheaply and poorly designed, impractical product.

I have an LG refrigerator that has the known compressor issue. It failed within 3 years. Customer service was difficult to deal with. They eventually shipped part & agreed partial payment for repairs. From The LG authorized repair list given nobody would come & repair it for months ahead. I finally found a repair service available. With the consent of LG customer services I did the repair for $650. Submitted a receipt & was only reimbursed $200. Yet LG in court said “labor covered for 5 years”. Now at 5.5 years the product failed again. I spoke with customer service. They stated as an “unauthorized repair service was used all warranty is void”. Yet they knew who I was going with for the repair, have a copy of the receipt on file & previously authorized a partial labor payment. What a slippery way to get out of liability for a known product design defect. Customer services then terminated the call. If this is the treatment you want if/when your product fails, which it most likely will if it has a Linear motor, you have been warned.

We bought an LG appliance package from Best Buy for our new house in 2015. Two years after, the refrigerator quit cooling and cost $600 to fix. We had no refrigerator for 2 weeks while waiting for repairmen to come out and then to order a part and return to fix it. Repairman told us the part he fixed had failed on many refrigerators - evidently a problem with the part. Four years after purchase, the dishwasher developed a drain problem and had to be fixed twice. This was $400 to fix, plus we had to do without the dishwasher for a total of about a monthI spent at least 30 minutes on the phone to Customer Service and spoke to “Corey” in executive services. He was unsympathetic and not inclined to help me at all. He offered no relief or compensation. He actually told me the new electronic appliances are not made to last. Very frustrating and disappointing. There are only two of us in the house, we are senior citizens, on fixed incomes, and we don’t abuse our appliances. Very frustrating.

We have purchased an LG refrigerator that is less than a year old. We reported an issue that when you shut one door the other door pops open. While fridge still technically worked, this isnt supposed to happen (especially with amount we paid); it also affects the ice and temperature and ruined food. We have had two other brands of fridges (Frigidaire and GE) for over 20+ years and this one we can only speak of in terms of months. It is not energy efficiency and does not work properly. We reported the issue to LG and they sent their own technician. (This is after we tried the online tips to lean fridge as far back as possible, etc.) The technician came and did not even touch fridge. When we told him issue he said it was a design flaw and to contact a specific number. We called and they said they would get back to us within 24 hours - spoiler alert and first warning sign, they did not.A few days later I called customer service. The person was helpful and gave me a supervisor number to contact the following day. I did and they set up another appointment which I was told would be the last because they would make sure their own technician fixed it. The technician no-showed. I was persistent and called LG multiple times. In total the technician no showed three times. I used four vacation days and my fridge does not work properly. My customer service was mixed - in fact, one person emailed and said This can happen with top mounts because of the way the duct work is set up. followed by The customer just needs to push on both doors to make sure they are closed all the way before walking away. To me, this wasnt an acceptable response after multiple contacts and only a few mere months of ownership. Half of my customer service responses were terrible in tone and service. I was constantly pushed off and told to just schedule another appointment. I contacted customer service over 12 times, not including the four appointments, three of which LG no-showed after a 5 hour waiting block for appointment time. There were also several times - at least 3 (not including appointments) in which LG said they would follow up with me and never did. We can only talk about our LG product in terms of months. Our other fridges were a Frigidaire and GE unit which lasted 20 years and 22 years respectively. This LG fridge has only lasted a few months. In fact, its basically only worth the $50 my electric company will give me under their program to encourage replacement of energy inefficient units. I would not recommend this product or the customer service. I have copies of my contact, emails, and chat responses and summaries of my phone calls as I plan on following up. What good is a fridge door that makes another one open when you shut it? Apparently this is a common issue that LG has yet to address or fix but just keeps pushing down the line. I hope we can prevent other people from making the same mistake. If I can edit the post after submitting, I will share some of the poor customer service responses and a video of the issue, but I wanted to submit this as soon as possible.

For the second time in less than 2 years, my LG french door refrigerator has MAJOR issues. Im not counting the other service calls on this hunk of junk - just the one that two weeks to fix before (bad motherboard) and the one now which is a sealed system (or unsealed in our case). LG is SO UNHELPFUL it isnt even funny. Ive bought a lot of refrigerators over the years, and never, ever, ever have I had these kind of problems. And, if LG actually stood behind their product, I wouldnt be this angry. But they couldnt care less. They read the little scripted message to you over and over again, that when they receive the technician report theyll see what they can do, etc. Probably the same thing as they did the last time, which was absolutely NOTHING! In 2013 I purchased a set of LG large capacity washer and dryer. I was excited when I got my new machines. At first I was amazed, as it did not seem my clothes had been washed so clean and dried so efficiently in years, compared to my old washer and dryer. After a few months, it seemed the washer would stop itself more and more often, with a UE flashing on the screen and required opening the machine and rearrange heavy wet clothing until it would spin through. About that time I received a notice of a recall that affected my machine. I called the recall hotline number and a technician was sent to replace the faulty parts. This solved the problem with balance and wash cycle, but left the washer with few choices for temperature. You have the choice of warm/warm, regardless of the setting other than tap cold. Cold/cold runs warm/warm. At least the machine was operating and cleaning the clothes. I was told it may happen again and that, if it did, to keep the number for the recall hotline. I have always made a special point of taking large blankets or anything other than regular clothing or bedding/towels, to a public laundry.Recently, once again, the machine has been throwing the clothing to the side and refusing to complete the load without the struggle of reaching in and rearranging the load, reading unbalanced several times before the load would finish. The last load I did was two regular bed sheets and a few wash clothes and it stopped twice before completed the cycle.I called the recall hotline from my paperwork and a tech was sent to our home, today. I was at work, so my husband greeted the repair technician. After trying the machine on its cycle, running on empty, he called me at work to tell me it tested normal. I assured him it was far from normal. The technician proceeded to tell me it is very important with this delicate machine, to only wash light loads of the same clothing, such as sheets only, towels only, light cotton with like size and fabric and jeans or heavier clothing, with only a few at a time and no other clothing. He stated he wanted to run a load of laundry to test the machine. My husband started putting clothes into the washer when the technician stopped him and told him to select only a few items of like size and fabric. The technician ran the load and called to inform me the machine had no problems and he was closing the ticket on the repair. I told the repairman to go home and ask his wife if she would be satisfied to do her laundry under the specifications he was informing me, this delicate machine (large capacity, supposed high power) requires. All of this to say, LG does not stand behind their product, the parts are sub quality and the massive recall on this machine only served to put a band-aid on a major problem. The machines should have been replaced and the customer should have been satisfied, instead of spending $850 on a machine that has lasted a total of 3 years. Do not buy LG, unless you have money to burn.
