Hot H20 tank failed after 4.5 yrs. Rheem will not honor 7 yr. warranty because there is no longer a commercial dealer in my town. Beware of poor/no customer support with this company. Very disappointed, in what used to be a dependable company.

The Rheem 40 gallon gas water heater never worked properly, temperature could not be adjusted and stayed at 120 degrees, even in low or vacation mode. Customer service had 45 hold time, but finally sent out a local plumber, who believed it was a faulty temperature controller. I again had difficulty getting to Rheem customer service, but they ordered a new temperature controller which was installed by a local plumber. After running hot water for a considerable time with controller in vacation mode the temperature dropped but stayed above the 91 degree stated in owners manual. The next morning I ran hot water on a home thermometer and the temperature shot up to 120 degree, the maximum the thermometer could read. Now I must call to get a third plumber out to correct situation. The owner manual does not say it is a Rheem water heater and it appear to be the same water heater at Home Depot and Lowes. Also the owner manual shows the temperature controller to be a brand name Honeywell but the controller provided appears to be the same, only the Honeywell name is missing. Bottom line; I will not buy another Rheem water heater.

My less than two year old RHEEM gas water heater has a leaking plastic T and RHEEM refuses to send me the part. The plastic T joins three copper lines together using rubber o-rings and metal clips. The lines are metric so only RHEEMs supplier in Japan can provide the plastic, and RHEEM claims bosses in Japan refuse to send it.

Our tankless water heater failed within the extended warranty time, no problem, we will just contact Rheem customer service and get them to send a new one. Paid $80 in shipping, installed the water heater, errors out with an ambiguous error code 13 while using water at a normal flow rate. Dozens of calls to Rheem customer service, they tell us we need to have gas guy come out and check our gas service. We have to pay $200 for that check of the service, and it turns out the service is fine. Call Rheem about their defective unit and advise gas is fine, they start their claim for sending another replacement unit, another $80 for shipping. We have not had hot water now for weeks and will be waiting for another week and a half for a new one to be installed. I started looking into the company to find out that, they have a TON of defective units out there and unfairly expect the customer to shoulder the burden of proof, and costs associated with shipping, inspection, and installation. Will never buy or recommend Rheem to anyone, unless I really want to tick them off.

Our water heater was professionally installed in May 2011. Last month the unit started leaking. I pulled out the paperwork and went online to verify the warranty. According to their warranty verification site, the warranty was valid through 6/11/2024. I called the Rheem customer service line (800-432-8373) and spoke to someone that confirmed that the warranty was valid. He said I needed to have a plumber look at the unit first and he gave me the name of a plumber that I could use. I paid $140 for him to come out and he confirmed that the unit was properly installed and the heat exchanger was leaking. I called Rheem back on 6/26/15 and the customer service agent (Scott, who was very nice) asked some basic questions including Were you the homeowner at the time the unit was installed? I bought the house one year ago. He then told me that because I was not the owner of the home when it was installed, the warranty was not valid.I asked to speak to a supervisor and he told me was the one in charge. I asked to speak to his manager and he took my information and told me he would have him call me but no one ever did. I sent an email to Rheems customer service center and again got no response. As a result, I have had to pay $1,975 to buy a new tankless water heater and have it installed. To make matters worse, I was forced to buy another Rheem as any other brand would have required additional costs to retrofit the piping to fit that product (according to the plumber that Rheem referred). I feel that the product failed after 4 years and this should have nothing to do with the fact that I bought the house 3 years after it was installed. I would like to be reimbursed for the cost of the new unit under the original warranty. I am also disappointed that Rheem did not respond to my request to speak to a manager or my email to their customer service center.

Update to my post earlier today. The third Rheem hot water heater 50 gal, tall version was bought this evening. I installed it because we need baths and I cannot wait for Rheem. I bought this Rheem from Penco instead of Home Depot. Now I do love Home Depot and their customer services is splendid. However , I have learned that Rheem makes different models of the same types for different distributors. Looks like to me Pencos unit cost $476 instead of HD price of $418. Guess what happened? Pencos Rheem was installed and did not leak at all, no leaks, we are finally taking baths. So HD has a cheaper version and its also less quality. Why cheaper if it leaks? Give me Penco. I love ya HD, but I had to stop smelling. Lol.

Yesterday we contacted Rheem regarding one of their hot water tanks that was only installed in April 2015, due to a loud bang then started leaking from the bottom. They authorized a replacement since was way under the Warranty Period. So far we were happy with the outcome. It wasnt UNTIL we took the defective tank back to Home Depot where it was originally purchased. First of all, they had no clue as to what they were doing, couldnt find our receipt even though was purchased with their CC and finally did NOT even do an even exchange. They charged us the difference from what was paid in April 2015 and what the price of the tank is NOW. Their reasoning behind this is the tank that was purchased in 2015 is NO LONGER manufactured so we had to get the one compatible to it. FIRST off, is it my fault the Hot Water Tank which was less than a year old went! SECONDLY, again is it my fault the original tank is NO LONGER manufactured! We proceeded to contact Rheem today regarding this issue, at which time they advised they have NO control how Home Depot processes Rheems defective merchandise/warranties or their prices. I was shocked and told the Customer Service Rep so. How can a company offer a warranty and NOT FULLY honor it. This should have been an even exchange regardless. I could understand if we wanted to upgrade or purchase larger. This was the only tank that was available.

Read the reviews, then run as fast as you can to find another supplier. At 15 years old, my old water heater was running fine, but I decided it was time to replace it before it died. I contracted for a Rheem Power Vent unit (a requirement in my situation), which made it quite expensive at $1,300 with installation. It lasted 30 months, and died with what turns out to be a common problem with the valve. The installing contractor sent the repair over to a Rheem specified service organization, who was not very responsive. It took me a day to get a call back, and they totally blew off a 3PM to 7PM arrival window scheduled for the next day, and called 8AM the following day (3 days) acting dumb, and said can we come now? They found the failing valve, but only after I stopped him from leaving, when it started up (as it always does), and the repair guy says see, its working. Sure, just wait 5 minutes for it to start ignition failure recycling every 2 minutes. Finally he saw that, went and got the part, and fixed it. I just got the bill. 3 hours at $125 (should be one hour) and $356 for the Smart Valve. Sure its smart for Rheem and the repair guy. Me, Ive just spent over 1/2 the cost of a new unit, to fix one that is only 30 months old. Where is the warranty?

I purchased a tankless water heater from Rheem and after the install was completed it did not stay on always shutting off at no particular time or reason. Rheem sent off many parts and I had many service calls to put the new parts on at my cost. Then two and half years went by and I thought that all of the parts that were defective had been replaced. No, the unit started shutting down again. Then, Rheem replaced the unit but would not reimburse me for the labor to install the new one. I waited sixteen weeks for them to finally tell me that they would not give me a dime for the cost of their defective produce. I had been in contact with them throughout that time period and they had asked for all of my paper work. They had such an extensive file on this case that they had given it two different case numbers over the years. In conclusion I would not recommend dealing with this company they have a bad public relation policy. Jessica

Rheem Gas 50 Gal Hot water Heater - Installed 11/02/2013. In August 2014, pilot light started going out. It would re-light and heater would work for a few days. Then pilot would go out again. Repeated this scenario several times. Called installer who referred me to warranty service man. Fixed at no charge but I was told that it was going to fail again, and while the part would be free, a service charge would apply after 1 year of installation. Service man said it is a design flaw, probably caused by the Closed Heating Chamber and the unit was not getting enough ventilation. Corrosion from carbon monoxide damaged the thermal coupling and would re-occur. Rheem Customer Service offered no advice or help.

I purchased and installed my Rheem gas hot water heater Dec. 2, 2020. For 7 months I didnt have a problem but then like most people on here my pilot light went out while I was out of town so wife had no hot water. When I got home I lit the pilot and thought it was fine only to find out it went out again. Saturday evening I changed the thermocouple I bought that day at Home Depot the same place I bought the water heater so that night after changing that and it not lighting and changing back to the old one I figured it was probably the gas control valve. Sunday morning back to Home Depot to find out none of them had a gas control valve in stock. The gentleman at the store called Rheem and right away placed on hold for 20 minutes till he used another phone to call again. This lady was helpful saying they can get a plumber out but who knows when, so instead she sent me a thermocouple and a gas control valve.I had to go back out of town Sunday so another week the wife doesnt have hot water. The part arrived before I got home so I changed it as soon as I walked in the door. Took around 30 minutes. So today I called to see if they can send me a spare gas control valve because I shouldnt have to go over a week without hot water and this original one lasted 7 months so Im sure this new one will go bad. But I was told they dont ship out spare parts. This was all after being caller 39 and being on the phone for 58 minutes before getting hung up on. When this one goes bad the water heater is gone. Heads up when changing the gas valve mine came with a screw in plug in the hole I needed for my pilot gas line, make sure to plug the other hole if you have to remove one because I wasnt aware of that and had my house smelling like gas fast. Rheem needs to plug both holes and let the consumer unplug the one he/she needs. It could save a life.

6 years ago, I purchased a RHEEM water heater from Home Depot which lasted only 3 years with only two in the household. June 18, 2015, I purchased an American Standard from a private retailer after researching the best water heater to purchase which also lasted only 3 years. It was a terrible, stressful ordeal with both companies. Rheem and American Standard each sent parts for their 6 year warranty stretching two weeks until Im stressed to the point of purchasing a new one because none of the parts solved the problem. Apparently this is what these companies count on... the customer getting fed up to the point we choose to buy another water heater for $800 every 3 years in exchange for a hot shower!!! I am a single parent working part time for LAUSD on summer break with $766 to my name. There goes our summer savings... again. Time to try another company. Im convinced all are the same... they may last 3 years with if youre lucky. Its like pulling teeth to get them to honor the warranty, and you will not get a replacement without spending a ton of money for a licensed professional in the process, which is why Im buying another brand. The water heater I had when I moved here lasted approximately 12 years with no problems. Old school. They dont make them like they used to. See you all in 3 years.

If you thinking getting a tankless water tank think about it. It can take up to 75 second to get hot water, if you do not have a recirculation loop in your house forget it. The Rheem does not have a buffer tank in the unit. You will have to get install a recirculation pump and a mini water tank beside to keep a certain quantity of hot water to be use until the tank warm up the rest of the water you need. But if you go for Navien NPE series you will need just the recirculation loop. That brand have the buffer tank inside the unit. And you have a app to change the temperature of the water from anywhere is your house. If I knew that I would go for that one and the price is less than Rheem and better guarantee. Do not trust any sale rep who come to your home. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU GO FOR ANY TANKLESS WATER TANK. AND KNOW YOUR HOUSE PLUMBING.

Bought a Rheem tankless hot water heater in Summer 2012. Installed by licensed plumber. Unit froze up in the very cold weather we had this winter, and the copper tubing split. Plumber said he could repair unit, but Rheem wont sell parts. The plumbing supply house where I purchased it told me that they no longer sell Rheem units.Contacted their customer service. Was disconnected after long waits 8 times just as I was at the You are customer number 5 stage before finally getting a woman who gave me a direct number to the tech department which was answered immediately. I was requested to take pictures (inside unit, and outside) and email them, which I did. That was nearly a month ago. I have heard NOTHING back from them, despite two other emails. My next step is contacting the Mississippi State Attorney Generals Office. The unit worked well and saved me over $80.00 a month on my electric bill, but I have now been without hot water for nearly 5 months. Hoping that I can get this thing fixed. Probably will have to buy a new unit and it WILL NOT be a Rheem.

Bought this from Home Depot just less than a year ago. Gas valve went out last Wednesday. Big sticker on front of water heater says not to return to Home Depot but to call their 800 number. Over the past 6 days I have spent a minimum of 5 hours on hold waiting for them. While this is still under warranty (parts & labor) you will have to pay $30 if you want your part expedited (whatever that means, as the part is STILL not here on day 6). Worst customer service EVER. I was told you knew what the problem was...the panel blinking lights told you. Your email with the tracking number mustve gone into your spam folder. Among please hold like 20 times. Six days after the gas valve went out, I am still waiting for them to actually get the part to FedEx for shipping...They have received shipping info, but not the part to send out. I understand that once the part is here in CA, in my hand I can call their contracted plumbers to come install it. They absolutely wont set up an appointment until the part arrives (apparently they know how RHEEM customer service works). Then I will have to wait 2-4 days for the plumber to come. I can contact my own plumber, but will have to pay them and then get reimbursed...Doesnt sound promising. Strongly suggest you look at another brand.

My water heater was not even five years, I had a six-year warranty. Sunday morning I awake to a flooded garage. As an elderly disabled woman, I didnt know what to do. That day I had to get it replaced, which was very costly for me, I felt relieved that it was still under warranty. I called first thing Monday morning, he asked me so many questions, then made me go out in the rain to remove a metal panel from the unit and drilled me on what I saw inside. After that he then claimed it was a parts issue that could of been replaced and therefore his hands were tied and couldnt do anything for me. Who could go for days waiting for a part that I wouldnt know to do with it when I got it and go without a shower for days. They will find any reason not to cover their products, even with a warranty. They have no consideration what people go through and the work and damages it causes. Will never purchase any of their products again and tell everyone I know.

Installed this water heater on 11-23-19. Had two leaks right away. One from the cold water nipple and one from the pressure relief valve. I fixed them, now water temp is 98 degrees. Called the warranty department and there are no techs to service this water heater in central PA. Told me to call a licensed plumber to fix it and they will pay for the repairs. I called several plumbers and finally found one to come out before the holiday. He will not deal with the warranty company so I have to pay the bill and then submit that to Rheem. They then told me it would be 4-8 weeks before I was reimbursed. The representative was rude. While we understand the terms of a warranty, when a product dies only a few months after the warranty expires it is extraordinarily disappointing. When we spoke to Rheem about this matter and were concerned about what appears to be a planned obsolescence of a product, they could have cared less. They were disrespectful and rude. Given the option to purchase another water heater in the future we will NOT use Rheem. And based on their previous warranty if you purchase a Rheem expect it to die around 6 years and a few months. Sad and disappointing.

This time the heater has a recall on a part that rheem cant even get and even if they could it would still cost me $145 to have someone install it. I have to go buy a new water heater (it will not be rheem again) and the company has an Oh well attitude. I hope this review save people time and especially money. I wish I had read the reviews.

They will keep stalling on replacing your water heater until you give up and buy a new one because you need hot water. 12-year warranty tank, only 4 years old. Already had to replace the thermocouple 2 years ago. Second failure now only lets it give hot water for 1-2 minutes and its out. Since this was not my first bad experience with a Rheem heater customer support, I just went straight to a plumber. They told me the tank needs to be replaced. OK, next day I call support, they want me to check a couple things and get back to them, fair enough. Call back 2 days later, they have no record I ever called so we start the entire process again, and they decide to send me a new gas control valve even though the first person I talked to said that didnt fit the symptoms. 2 days later I get it, and install it. Still broken, call back again, by now its been a week without any hot water, and everyone in the house is pissed at me. They want me to run a water temperature test AGAIN for a third time, even though Im already well aware the water gets hot... it just runs out in about 2 minutes. They want to send me another gas control valve, even though I just installed a new one they sent me that day. Which I wouldnt get until Tuesday since its a Saturday. Refuse to allow me to trade it in for a new one, and the supervisor tells me its clearly a plumbing issue since the gas control valve was replaced and I checked the dip tube and its not cracked or broken. He tells me just like a water heater, parts can fail in plumbing. My copper pipes can fail somehow causing hot water to run out quick? With zero plumbing changes? Yeah, OK, they clearly are just coming up with any excuse possible to not give me a working water heater. At this point I need hot water, so I give up and go buy a Whirlpool. Hey, I have all the hot water I want now, turns out my copper pipes didnt break in a fashion that sucks the hot water up. Shocker, it was the water heater. $750 down the drain on a new water heater because their support refuses to actually help.

Purchased new Rheem water heater. Installed in new home 8/27/2020. Tested pressure relief valve as instructed in Use & Care Manual. Valve would not fully re-seat and leaked to ½ gallon in 24 hours. Tried valve several times to see if it would flush out any material that may prohibit it from closing properly, leak continued. Called Rheem Tech Support at 1-800-995-0982 on 8/23/21. Sat on hold for 27 minutes before being disconnected. Called a second time, on hold for 51 minutes before someone answered only to tell me I had wrong department and they could not help. Called Tech Support # again, on hold 37 minutes, asked for a supervisor. Was told that Parts Warranty only good for 1 year from manufacture date. I was given a part # and told I would need to purchase part for about $37. Told them I have documentation of when Water heater was installed and put into service, that doesn’t matter, parts only good for one year from manufacture. Started calls at 11:30 AM, ended 1:45 PM, over two hours. This water heater touts a 10 year Warranty, evidently need to get to fine print to learn that parts that will commonly fail are only given one year from date of manufacture. I am a builder and have had multiple Rental properties, this water heater was for my own home. This in my experience is the worst customer service/support ever, I will personally never purchase or install another Rheem product. Buyer beware, you are dealing with a bloated, self-important company if you deal with Rheem.

We installed a brand new Richmond 40 Gallon (Rheem) water heater which we purchased from Menards. It has a faulty Thermal shank. This has left me (and a renter) out of hot water for 3 days, while waiting for the part to arrive. Unfortunately no one has the part in town and there are no service technicians for the Saint Paul Minnesota area. I have called 15 plumbers off the list that was sent to me and I had difficulty finding one who will come out on short notice. I will not trust that I can have someone arrive after hours (@$259 an hour) and still be reimbursed. I will have a person tomorrow morning, but that means I will literally be boiling water for my renters bath. I am not looking forward to the paperwork I need to fill out for my claim. And I am disappointed that I will need to wait for my check to clear as proof of payment before finishing my claim. This is just more of a time delay to an already time consuming situation. This purchase has hurt my rental business. I will encourage others to buy another brand - especially Rental Managers and landlords who cant afford this type of hassle. I wish I could have just returned the product, but it is already filled with water and the gas and water lines are installed. I dont dare try to haul it back to the store for fear that it would be damaged on the way and then Id have an even bigger drama on my hands. And one more frustrating bit to this is the wait time when calling in. It was near a half hour. (Though the service line is faster).

This review is in response to a denial I received from Rheem Manufacturing
This review is in response to a denial I received from Rheem Manufacturing Company regarding a claim I made for a leaking hot water tank that has a 12 year warranty with full coverage (parts and labor) for the first three years. From the day I reported a problem with this Rheem 12 year Gas Hot Water Heater I was treated disrespectfully and it was abundantly clear from the beginning that it was going to be difficult to get this company to back the 12 year warranty on this hot water heater. When I reported the problem I was having with this water heater it was only one and a half years old and still eligible for full no cost labor and parts coverage for the first three years as stated in the warranty verbiage. Rheem customer claim reps gave me a hard time about sending a plumber out to look at the tank and repair it. After asking to speak to a supervisor I was finally told she would send out a plumber and I would be notified by someone who would set up an appointment. I then get a call and was told they cant find any authorized Rheem plumbers in my area and asked if I would contact a plumber on my own and have the plumber fix the leaking tank if possible and send their bill to Rheem for reimbursement. I tried to find a plumber but none would come when I told them they had to submit their bill to Rheem for payment. I ended up fixing the tank myself with some help from a friend who is a plumber apprentice.I turned in a claim for $18.06 and this chincy company denied payment, unbelievable!!!! Imagine what the claim would have been if a plumber would have fixed the tank and for sure I would have been stuck with that bill!!! I notified Home Depot (where I purchased the water heater} Customer Service and they were appalled when I told them this story. I only notified them because I wanted Rheem to be reported for their extremely poor customer service and not fulfilling their warranty agreements. Home Depot is one of Rheems largest dealers of their products and did not agree with Rheems denial of this claim. They told me they were going to file a grievance against Rheem for the way this claim was handled and to show their appreciation of my loyal patronage sent me a $25 Gift Card. I will never buy a Rheem product again and will tell all every chance I get of this horrible experience. If you need a new hot water heater be very leery about buying a Rheem.Rick **

Replaced my old water heater three years ago with a six year warranty Rheem water heater. It is leaking profusely from the bottom, damaging a wall and custom wood cabinetry in my kitchen. Quoted $700 dollars, by Home Depot (they did the installation) to remove the faulty water heater and replace it, which Rheem does not cover. Why should someone be charged such exorbitant fees to remove and replace a defective water heater, under warranty?

I replaced a 10-year-old Maytag hot water heater with a Richmond branded tankless hot water heater in 2012. It started to leak after just 7 months and Rheem would not honor my warranty so I had to go through the retailer. After 2.5 years Ive gone through five tankless hot water heaters because the heat exchanger keep leaking after just 7 to 8 months of use at the most. Rheem continually reams me and refuses to pay any warranty claim. Do not trust any warranty that Rheem advertises.

We purchased a Rheem 40 gallon hot water heater yesterday and had it installed by a licensed plumber this afternoon. Install went fine. Turned the water on and then the electric on, and waited a bit so the plumber could make sure all was well. All was not well, the water did not heat. Our plumber ran through the typical diagnostics and came to the conclusion the water heater was bad. Yes, it was bad, but the Rheem customer service was worse. This is a brand new water heater and they have said it was 3 different problems and they will send out a part. We wait for the part and then they will send a tech out--so we could be without hot water for more than a week--they could not give a darn. Brand new and this is the customer service you get--please folks, do not buy a Rheem. This story has a happy ending only because Home Depot in Holiday, FL is awesome. They are replacing the thing and going above and beyond for us. THIS is why we only use Home Depot. Rheem, take a clue from Home Depot and amp up your customer service or you wont have any customers to service.

We built a new house in 2013. Our Rheem 50 gallon water heater is only 8 years old but of course, this happens right after the warranty is expired. We finished our basement about a year ago. Thanks to this water heater failing, we now have to replace not just the water heater, but all of our beautiful new hardwood flooring, the carpet in the bedroom and some of the drywall. Original water heater = $1,000. New water heater = $1,000. Homeowners insurance deductible = $1,000. Time off from work to remove everything from the basement to pull up the flooring = $840. Total cost of owning this thing = $3,840. Steer clear, folks.

My experience thus far with Rheem and the support has been dismal. We bought and installed our first solar hot water tank using a recommend Rheem System. Since install, the 15 year old tank used to fill a soaker tub but the new one will not. Apparently we were recommend the wrong one and this unit is meant for a large solar heating array, not a small 2 collector system. Nobody asked about the size of the collectors. A month to get the proper spec sheet once it would not even fill the tub half way. Over a month to be told that it is the wrong unit and it is not meant for our cold climate and a small collector system. This have been going on since January and still no real response from them. No solutions and no help to follow up from our rep or Rheem to date.

Ok out of all the reviews Ive read heres one that you should all read if youre going to buy a Rheem. I replaced a GE for the Rheem and in less than a year I had 6 instances where I had no hot water and each time was when it rained. Now I had my handyman install it (who wouldnt right). Wrong... Had Rheem plumbing contractor come out who told me unit was flooded because the housing unit was not secured right allowing water into the housing unit which collected in the water heater... My warranty that expired on 2028 was now null and void one year into ownership. I strong urge everyone to not buy Rheem. The fine print is where they get you where it hurts. I had to pay $250 to get it working again but if it goes out again Im screwed with no warranty. BUYER BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY... I will be filing a complaint with Rheem and Better Business and Consumer Affairs. WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN EVER!!!

Had a water heater installed approx. 3 months ago. 3 weeks ago it started tripping the circuit breaker. After inspection, we found the insulation around the lower heating coil was soaked so had the lower heating coil replaced and dried everything out. Last week it started doing it again. Upon closer inspection they found the tank was leaking higher up and was irreparable. When I spoke with Rheem customer service I requested to speak with the service reps supervisor/manager who told me in a flat tone that while Rheem would cover the part and materials they did not have to cover the cost of labor. When asked why I should have to cover the labor cost to replace a 3 month old unit that only needs replacing due to a fault that is their responsibility, I was given the same flat-toned scripted response. I assured them if Rheem was not going to be flexible enough to work with its customers when the cost should rightly fall to them then I would not waste another cent with them and ensure anyone I encountered knew why.All work done by a licensed/certified/bonded contractor that Ive done business with for many years and has an impeccable reputation. This is not my first encounter with Rheem but it is also nothing different. Im usually a forgiving person but things like repetitive bad customer service stick with me for a long time and though this incident may cost me a couple hundred dollars I will do my best to ensure it cost them as much as possible in lost customers. My advice? Avoid Rheem products at all cost.

Purchased at Home Depot in 2017 a 40 gallon Rheem Water Heater, paid for installation from handyman. All was well for about a year when the gas assembly unit went out about a year after initial installation. Forward to February 8, 2020 and the water heater quit again. The first time it quit Rheem had a local installer replace the Gas Control Unit part. This time they just sent the part. I installed it last night and nothing. I can ignite the pilot, but it wont stay lit. I called Rheem again and the gentleman said it sounds like the pilot assembly. So now I have to wait for that part to show up... And I have to install the part. I am so over this company and their failed water heater. Shame on Rheem for not standing by their product and doing the right thing. I purchased a 7 year warranty water heater in 2017 at Home Depot. I installed it (Im a mechanical engineer and have lots of home improvement experience). About 18 months after I purchased it, it started having long recovery times. And after 20 months it quit altogether. A quick troubleshoot indicated that the elements were shot - and that the factory installed lower element had a pinched gasket which was causing a pinhole drip type leak. This obviously was starting the entire lower part of the water heater to start to corrode. I called the folks at Rheem, and they talked me through a complete troubleshoot again - and with my handy volt/ohm meter they determined that not only were the elements bad, but the upper thermostat was too. I mentioned the gasket issue which they brushed aside as a normal operational issue. They promised prompt shipment of the parts.About 10 days later the elements and the thermostat showed up. I drained and pulled them. No surprises - both were burnt through. Im pretty shocked - Ive never seen this ever before! EVER. And Im 54... I replaced the parts and figured that Id be good for a bunch more years (before this experience I was used to water heaters lasting 12 to 20 years!!). Imagine my surprise to hear a sound come from my water heater that sounded like my Arc Welder turned all the way up and welding 1/2 plate steel! The sound stopped after about 30 seconds and sure enough: no hot water. Didnt pop the breaker either. Removing the upper and lower thermostat, I discovered significant corrosion in the lower one (probably due to the leak - I checked mine after install several times and no leak - but I used a bit of food grade silicone grease on my install to prevent kinking, just like on a oil filter of a car) was corroded. A bench test of the upper confirmed that it was dead too. And, to make it a trifecta, the lower element showed infinite resistance (burn out). The upper showed 14 ohms so I left it in place. I drained the heater and removed the lower element to find that yes, it was burned thru. Cheap junk, just like the thermostats. At this time Im real unhappy with Rheem. I suspect a serious supply chain problem with shoddy parts may be to blame, but I am concerned about the manufacturing quality as well because of the gasket. Im a bit concerned that maybe the steel (which shows surface corrosion already!!) may be substandard and have rot starting. Or inferior welding... or.... Im thinking that even though I spent $850 for this junker, its time for a new one. I live 40 miles out in the country and dont want my house burning down due to an arcing heater - or someone getting electrocuted.

Dont buy the Rheem water heater for the warranty, it is worthless. It only covers parts, which leaves you at the hands of the thieving plumbers. The ignition and thermostat system is overly complicated and may fail. Mine lasted 5 years (12-year warranty). The plumber wanted $350 to repair the unit, the part (covered) is $112. My son who lives out of state does home repair and said it was a 15-minute job. I am trying to order the party under warranty but that is not going well. Brand new this tank at Home Depot is $850 installed so its smarter to get a new one. So buy the tank you think fits your need but dont get excited about the warranty, its not going to help much.

In Feb. 2014 my home warranty company who by their very nature replace covered parts with the cheapest product they can. That’s an issue in and of itself. Sent out a technician who replaced the previous failed water heater with a Rheem 48 gallon tank made in Mexico. It states it right on the model number and serial number sticker. This tank came with a 6 year limited warranty. On 6/28/2020 the tank failed and was leaking out the bottom, luckily I caught it quickly and was able to shut off the water and attach a hose to the tank and drain it before further water damage could occur. I called a plumber who came out first thing in the morning and he took one look at it and confirmed what I knew that it had to be replaced. I asked why this would fail within five months of being out of warranty and he informed me that Rheem is a consumer grade product that’s not very good. As he disconnected the unit and wheeled it away, a stream of red colored water followed it as it exited my garage. I asked the plumber if that was rust and he confirmed that it was.I asked if my whole house water filtration system could have helped the unit fail faster as salt is used in the filtration process. He and my filtration company whom I already had scheduled to come out that day to change our filter medium, both confirmed that this would not have caused this and more so would have helped prolong the system as no sediment would build in the tank.Plumber installed a new tank made in America and told me that this was a solid tank and should easily last 10 years. I contacted the Rheem warranty department and explained my situation and the front line rep stated since I was out of warranty there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak with a supervisor as I felt this was just a few months past warranty and how it failed seemed like planned obsolescence.A supervisor called me the next day and I explained my plight and asked if Rheem could do something given the circumstances. The supervisor stuck to his story and kept referring back to the warranty and that he couldn’t do anything. I even asked if they could do some form of partial compensation as I was out $1800 for the new tank and install. He kept to his company line and stated he couldn’t do anything. In business you can ALWAYS do something, especially for exception situations where it’s clear your product failed sooner then it should have. I asked the supervisor if he truly couldn’t do something or is it more the case he wouldn’t do something. That was a little to close to home and we promptly ended the call as I knew I was dealing with a terrible manufacturer who they and companies like them are more concerned with profits then manufacturing and standing behind their product.Rheem is a common brand sold at Home Depot and Lowe’s outlets. My plumber would never touch them because of their shoddy manufacturing. Rheem is a key example of the current discordant atmosphere in this country as their business practices are focused on greed, period. Use cheap labor in Mexico, less than adequate materials for the purpose of the product and make their margins by mass volume through these national retailers. Staff your customer service with minimum wage or barely over minimum wage to dodge claim calls and ultimately only compensate as few claims as possible. It’s more cost effective to staff customer service and train them to avoid claim fulfillment than it is to make good when their products fail. This company should be shut down, liquidate all its assets, attempt compensate customers who were in warranty and denied and proceed down the list as best as possible. Residual if any, should then be used to fund a start up in either America or Mexico or both and bring in best in class manufacturing processes to produce a truly viable product that the new company will stand behind. DON’T BUY OR INSTALL A RHEEM WATER HEATER. Install a better quality tank and pay the extra cost. You will easily recover that cost in performance as well as not having to deal with costs of home and property damage from a failed tank.

I replaced my water heater with a 50 gallon propane unit after my previous water heater failed. I dont recall which brand was replaced but it had been trouble free for years before the bottom rusted out. The new unit started having hot water consistently issues and because the warranty department said they were out of stock on replacement control valves which troubleshooting identified as the problem. I was authorized to get a new replacement water heater from HomeDepot. Within a year, the water temperature stopped holding. Warranty sent a new control valve. This took care of the problem for several months until it repeated. This time they wanted me to contact a repair company to verify there were not external issues like low propane pressure, water supply issues, etc. All checked out and they sent me a new control valve. 7 months later, and the problem repeats! I called again, got transferred and put into a queue with a half hour delay and hung up in frustration. Ill call again when I have more time but I have lost all confidence in this brand. When I had asked a previous service support tech at Rheem about the issue, he said they were getting the parts out of Mexico and chuckled.

I installed several same type of Rheem water heaters in my apartments. One of them keeps turning off pilot. I called the Rheem customer support and technique support several times. Every time, I have to wait for long long time before I was able to talk to the support. Every time, they sent me a new pilot assembly since my water heater is still under warranty. I have to spend a lot of money to hire professional to install the pilot for me. The latest one was installed last week but the pilot was off again today. I think that the water heater really has a defect since beginning so the pilot was off again and again since my another same type of Rheem water heater works well so far that was installed in another apartment within the same fourplex building. The two apartments and locations for the water heater are identical. Honestly, I requested Rheem to replace the water heater for me since it is under warranty and it has defects. But Rheem refused to replace my water heater, instead kept sending me a new pilot. But every time, I had to pay for professionals to install it. If the water heater has a problem, I dont think that it is useful to change the pilot again and again.

WE had a Rheem water heater installed on December 3, 2020. Almost immediately, the water smelled of rotten eggs. We have softened water and it is not from a well. No problems like this with our previous Whirlpool water heater. Rheem says we need to replace the anode rod and are giving us no help at all. So, we need to pay for a plumber to fix this problem on a brand new water heater. VERY disappointing.

16 year old water heat started leaking. I replaced it with a Rheem 50 gallon Power Vent Propane Water Heater. After 3 weeks it would only heat water to luke warm (tepid) then shut down. I read the bad reviews on this website and thought I made a big mistake. I bought it a Home Depot and had to drive 70 miles to pick it up. The Energy Dept created new standards effective April 2015 and there were only 2 in Southwest Ohio. Cant go without hot water very long (spoiled Americans). With all the bad reviews, why would HD carry this product?I called Rheem customer service and MY experience was the OPPOSITE of everything posted on this site. All were most helpful to troubleshoot. Sent a new pressure switch. I changed it and that didnt fix it. I am a very good DIY person. There arent that many parts to a water heater but a Power Vent heater is a little more complicated. I think I ended up (ultimately) speaking to 5 customer service people. The last was a guy that only advised on Power Vent models. He asked about the baffle in the middle under the Power Vent. I was sticking out about 1 inch but looked normal to me as I didnt know what was normal/abnormal. Apparently during the drive from Columbus to Cincinnati it worked itself out (it should be flush with the shoulder). I asked if I could set on its side during transit and the HD person said yes as long as I didnt set it on the side with the controls. Made sense but the baffle vibrated out a bit. The fuel/air ratio was confused. Anyway the last guy told me to push this baffle down. It was firm. I put a piece of wood on it and gave it a quick bang and it went down flush!!! I powered it up and it now produces scalding water. Hot setting is plenty. You do not need VERY HOT. You will get burned. To summarize, I wanted to counter all the bad reviews about Rheem water heaters and let others know they WILL help you and send a part/technician right away if necessary. Working perfectly now.

My 8-month-old Rheem water heater GUSHED all 40 gallons that were in the tank. I called Rheem and was told I was not covered because their warranty begins when THEY manufacture it, NOT when you buy, install it! I asked the less than professional customer service rep how I would know it was manufactured and with a snicker, she said, Oh, you wouldnt. I spoke with 4 people throughout the day, each with a different explanation. They emailed me about doing a leak test which only flooded my utility room A 2ND TIME! Never, never, buy another Rheem water heater again. They are obviously poorly made, and their customer support is worse!

He recommended exchanging and installing another water heater. Home Depot was great about the exchange but Plummer said I would have to pay for the labor as he has had problems in the past getting paid by some manufacturers. I bought a Rheem water heater in May 2017 from Home Depot. 7 months later it failed right on Christmas Eve. I called Rheem and the warranty part was sent quickly, but since they could not find any contractor in my area to do the work, they said I can use anyone local. I filled out the warranty claim and sent all the required paperwork back on Jan 2nd, 2018. First they said itll take 6 - 8 weeks to process the claim. Its now 2 1/2 month (March 16th, 2018) and my claim was still not processed. The last time Ive called, I was told that they were back-up in the warranty claim department (wow... imagine how many units have failed that could create such a back-up), but since its more than 8 weeks, theyll expedite my claim. Guess what, expedite or not, my claim is still in limbo somewhere. Very disappointed with how Rheem handles customer claim. No wonder no contractor in my area wants to work with Rheem. People, please dont buy Rheem, not worth it when you have to be hold 45 minutes on the phone with them or call them every month to check on your warranty claim just to hear the same excuse.

After working with Rheem support which is horrible, I took it back to home depot and got a replacement. The replacement was a Rheem Gladiator series. My plumber installed the replacement heater and that one failed within about 3 months time. I will never buy a Rheem heater again.

I purchased a 50 gal Rheem water heater XG50T12DU36U0 from Home Depot, I installed and it would not light up unless I would close and reopen the gas line manually. I called Rheem, troubleshooted the water heater with them over the phone and they decided it was the gas valve. I replaced it for them and the problem continued. I called them again, troubleshooted the heater again and they said it was the ignitor and asked me to replace it. I refused to replaced because I did not want to damage the heater and invalidate the warranty. Their repair company replaced the ignitor, the unit started after many sparks and then would not work again. I called Rheem again, troubleshooted again the flammable gas sensor, reset the gas valve without fixing the problem. They said it was the thermal protection device and asked me to open and remove the burner which I refused to do. I got tired of this and asked to return the unit. Rheem says they do not recommend that because they want to keep troubleshooting the unit (while I take cold showers...) and do not issue a Return Authorization number. Home Depot manager says I need to contact Rheem, get a return authorization number and they do not honor the 90 day return policy nor provide me a copy of it (they said I can take a picture of the policy on the counter). The policy does not mention water heater as non returnable items but still the manager does not accept me to return the heater. The manager said also that since the water heater was installed I cannot return it. Home Depot 1-800 customer service says I can return the unit (with receipt, serial number on heater and undamaged) but they cannot override the store manager. Do NOT buy RHEEM WATER HEATERS from HOME DEPOT.

Rheem calls back to inform us that we live too far away from a tech to send one. That we would have to call the plumber ourselves and pay for all work. We got a brand new water heater in 2017. Now in 2020 it stopped working over a month ago. We reached out to Rheem for a new thermocouple- per the machine error. It took several rude customer service representatives to get the part. Despite paying the extra 50$ to overnight the order, it did not arrive for two days. We had the plumber put in the new thermocouple and all was well....for a few days. Then a new error popped up high temperature sensor...a few rude Rheem calls later and another overnight (read: two days) package later, we get the part. Pay yet another plumber to put the part in and all is well...for a few days. The hot water stops again, the plumber comes yet again and the pilot light is three times as tall as it should be! Call some rude Rheem representatives and OH, they sent the WRONG PART AND WILL NOT BE COVERING THE PLUMBER INSTALLATION FOR THE WRONG PART THEY SENT!!?! Two days later and were still waiting for the overnight of the right part. Have never been more dissatisfied with a company and will NEVER purchase Rheem and will discourage EVERYONE I know from using.

Rheem gas hot water heater was purchased new in December 2020. Mid August 2021 the heater stopped all functions. 70 minutes in line behind 61 other callers with technical support people. New, replacement gas valve was shipped and arrived very very promptly. New valve arrived broken. Service tech was scheduled to arrive five days after initial heater failure from 105 miles away. After considering all of this we decided to hire our own service technician, a local plumber, who promptly repaired the Rheem gas water heater. The cost to us for repair, out of pocket, was nearly the same as the original price of the water heater. Needless to say we couldnt possibly be more disappointed. Well have to consider other manufacturers for the first time in forty years. A very unfortunate turn of events.

This companys products, customer service as well as replacement parts are absolute junk! Customer service is horrible! I catch them in lies every time I call customer service. They even wanted to keep the sales tax & shipping fees after a refund. This is a very shrewd company & its customer service is awful. 0 out of 5 Stars. Absolute worst water heater Ive ever purchased. The last one I purchased was in my old home that had the water heater going for almost 20 years WITHOUT CONFLICT before I moved out. I dont remember what brand it was. Certainly not RHEEM or GE.This 2-year-old water heater is scrap. Its been popping louder than any water heater that Ive ever been around & the pilot light wont stay on even after customer service told me that it was firstly the burner (covered under warranty only a few months into purchase) then recently It started to shut itself off due to oxygen deprivation. They told me it was the NG controller so I purchased it thinking it would fix the problem. Well, it didnt & since they dont take back these parts, they simply refund your money if they were wrong but they wanted to keep the shipping as well as state sales tax. I had to talk to a supervisor just to correct this issue & they greet me with HEY, Manny - Very unprofessional. Not sure how many of the water heaters made by Rheem are faulty. But mine was (just a knob in the front, so far) and let me tell you, the customer service sucks. They were rude and dismissive to my plumber when he called the night he installed it. Then neither of us could get hold of them the following day (a Wednesday). Finally on Thursday morning, I reached someone who was clearly bored and not caring. She told me a local contractor had the job so I needed to call them. A rude and dismissive person was eventually reached (after 2 hours of calling) at the local contractor number. Nobody could come out until the following day, Friday (today). When he finally showed up, he told me he was there to do a determination on what was needed. Then he had to call Rheem, and order the part. Which would not be shipped until Monday! Bought a new Rheem 40 gallon hot water heater and was installed in new home in August 2015. Worked for three months, then had issues with NO hot water. Getting error code. Contacted company and after several attempts and disconnects finally got someone. Was told that the venting was improper and to contact plumber to have them look at it and then send the bill for reimbursement. We did as we were told, changed venting per their specifications and still does not work correctly. Plumbing company contacted Rheem and they sent new blower assembly. This was replaced and did NOT fix the problem. Again contacted Rheem spent over 2 hours trying to get someone. Finally got someone in another department who transferred to supervisor. They have supposedly contacted Menards to reimburse us for the bad water heater, but now are refusing to reimburse us for the bill that was incurred by having a plumber come out. They are stating we did not provide the correct documentation showing a defect. Bill was sent that we received from plumbing company stating their fees.We cannot understand why no one is looking into this company regarding all these issues that this company is having with their bad product and NOT honoring their warranty. This company is causing frustrations on customers that should not be happening and not honoring anything in their warranty booklet. Nor are the phone numbers that they are listing on this warranty numbers that consumers are able to get through. When talking to the supervisor I brought this issue up and even asked him if he has ever tried calling the number listed. He said frankly no. I asked him to please do this as well as forward this on to individuals that are higher up so that they are aware of this issue. I would seriously hope that this company look into their issues with their products and take note of what consumers are dealing with.

I am very dissatisfied with my tankless water heater. Our problem of no hot water started in June of 2011 and we continue to have this problem. Tankless water heater would work for few weeks then start flashing error code 11 or 12 on the monitor, and no hot water. This issue continued on and off for a while and now, it has gotten worst. Weve contacted Rheem customer care several times and each time, they all seem to tell us different reason for our problem. It really is a challenge trying to see if we will have hot water each day. Just recently, Rheem representative told my husband the gas line pipe is the wrong size. Thats not true because weve already checked the line, valve, gas flow, etc. They dont know what the heck they are talking about. They must read the problem manual given to them when they were hired. Weve also had Rheem authorize repairer looked at it. They have no idea what or how to fix this problem. Between Rheem customer care and Rheem authorized repairer, I dont know which one is worse because they are just one sorry ** after another. My husband and I are seriously thinking about switching back to the good, old-fashion water heater because we never had any problem with it. When our friends talk about installing tankless water heater, we tell them dont get Rheem tankless water heater because it sucks!

“I am posting the following experience as an example of how companies should treat clients/customers regardless of stated warranties, policies and procedures. A number of years ago, I purchased an above-ground salt-water pool with a Raypak pool heater. It was a good heater, but two years ago reached the end of its life and had to be replaced. I decided to purchase another upgraded Raypak heater (larger and with digital readout). Unfortunately, for some reason, the heater only lasted two seasons before needing to be replaced. While I was initially upset at this prospect, all companies can occasionally have a product that ends up being “a lemon” despite regularly producing high quality products.I have often said that a person or a company should be judged, not on mistakes made or an occasional poor product, but how they respond to fixing the situation. In this case, Raypak, sold in Canada by Rheem Canada, came through with flying colours. Technically, my Raypak heater was out of warranty, but Rheem understood the situation and recognized that their products usually perform much better than was the case with this particular heater. The company, with a special shoutout to the Director of Sales in Canada, Dave **, was very understanding and helpful in this situation by replacing my heater. Rheem/Raypak has just ensured a lifelong customer and one who will spread the word. Raypak/Rheem is number 1 in my books!”

They also told him a plumbing company in Maryland would handle checking out the heater to see if it could be repaired. By the way, I live in Georgia! Plumbing company in Maryland told my plumber they did not have a work order for my water heater. My plumber contacted Rheem at least ten times concerning the heater. Rheem could find the case number, but could never find any paperwork concerning my plumber contacting them. They put the burden on me by telling me to find a licensed plumber and having the heater repaired and then they would reimburse me. Is this the best they can do to stand behind their product? I purchased a Rheem Smart water heater back in November 2018. In August 2019 the water heater control panel shorted out and fried control panel. I need to add I did not pair my smart phone to my water heater. I set the temp to 120 and went about my everyday business. I called the tech line around 2 pm and was told I had to wait for a tech to arrive to fix the water heater. That was okay until they stated there were no techs available in my area, so they offered me allowance of $125.00 to find a plumber to come out and fix the water. Well problem 2 is there were no parts available in our surrounding area and I would have to wait for 2-3 days to receive the replacement part. Of course I was not going without hot water for that period of time and a plumber around here is $185.00 an hour from 8-5 and $277.50 for after hours. After they caved and got Home Depot to replace the water heater I downgraded to the basic and once installed it began to leak. Frustrating as it was I returned to home depot with the water heater at 9:50 pm and was given another water heater. Problem 3, I received the replacement control panel 4 days later and called three times asking to return it and Jesse says just throw it away, no need to return it. Rheem must be making money hand over fist to throw parts away like that. Im a home depot customer and I buy what they sell. Hopefully they will start carrying another brand for customers to choose from. I do not recommend this brand of water heater for any home due to the poor customer service they provide. Seven hours to replace a water heater. Thank God Im a do it yourself-er and dont have to depend on anyone to repair my home.

While the part was still under warranty, the labor was not and the labor to install one of these units varied from $200 to $600. Our previous water heater lasted for 25 years as did all of our neighbors. This was clearly a faulty part and when I called Rheem to work out some sort of compensation I was denied, treated rudely, and put on hold for over an hour and a half. Please do yourself a favor and steer clear of this company!

The company recalled the unit. It started a fire in my house. They didn’t bother to ask if everyone was ok after the fire. They wanted to repair the damaged water heater. It was totaled. The fire department pulled out the electrical system to make sure the fire was out. I sprayed a whole can of fire extinguisher in my garage. Made a huge mess. Didn’t care. I called. They said they would find a technician. They didn’t. I had to find one. Finally after a lot of calling found one. Got amount authorization from them. I submitted my invoice twice instead of invoice and receipt, resubmitted with corrected info. Now they want my credit card bill to verify the receipt was real!!! They all need to be subjected to having on fire in their home. So they also won’t cover the extra $200 for the new water heater which I wouldn’t of had to get if the one they sold hadn’t started on fire. So please don’t ever buy anything from them. Put them out of business!

I purchased a new water heater from Rheem and had it installed. I never got hot water and it took almost 2 weeks for Rheem to give me a new one. Customer Service was horrific and the most incompetent people I have ever had to deal with. I spoke with them and told them that my water heater has never worked and they shipped out part after part and finally gave me a new one. My family was in a new place and had no hot water for almost 2 weeks!! There was nothing but an, Oops, Im sorry. from Rheem. I have never been so dissatisfied and so infuriated at a company before in my life! I will never buy anything from Rheem again. I suggest everyone save their money and buy from anyone but Rheem!!

Very displeased with Rheem warranty experience. My water heater burned up and it was a part of a warranty claim. I called and was sent an email and opened up original case where I sent pictures of my burnt up water heater (which I still have my pictures) which this water heater was 4 years old and a part of a recall. After I sent in the pictures I had talked to a lady in regards to getting the pictures. She mentioned that it was really bad and Rheem was going to send me an email so then I can go to Home Depot and find an equivalent water heater at no charge. But when I called in the next day no one had any clue what I was talking about and sent me an email but they started a new case. Which is really odd they would give me a new case number... they must have gave me a new case number since they didn’t want help out with a recalled product. The second case number I got the email that mentioned I am now getting a new part instead of getting a new electric water heater. I have yet to see this supposed part that was issued. There is no way anyone can go this long without a water heater... literally 1 1/2 months. I am truly disappointed with the customer service and time it is taking for this to get taken care of. I had to go out and buy a brand new water heater because I couldn’t wait that long for the part to come in and this was issued 4/28... I had to spend over $600 dollars on this new unit as well as a $250 labor charge for them to remove and replace the new unit. It is pretty sad because when I first sent the picture I was told that because it was burnt up badly that I should be getting an email in regards to an approval to go to Home Depot and find an equivalent one at no charge. But when I called since I didn’t receive the email on the approval to go to Home Depot to get an equivalent one. I called then a new case easy wrote up and they were supposed to send a part. I am very unhappy with the customer service since pretty much nothing has been done to get this fixed fast enough done. This went out 4/23... and it is now 6/15 and I still have not gotten any response back from Rheem. No one ever get Rheem product since they are not helpful at all. This needs to get straightened out because there is no help at all because I am out a lot of money to get this taken care of when Rheem should have taken care of a majority of the expense.

I bought a hot water heater and got no hot water. Plumber came and said I needed a new valve. I was watching plumber reinstall valve when I observed wire fall out of connector. Not properly plugged in. Burner lite but no Hot Water, only warn. Let it be for a few days and then called Rheem. They sent a new gas valve and plumber came to install. Still no Hot Water! I am going to call again and ask for my money back.

I moved into a brand new home in April 2016. I started having issues with my Rheem tankless water heater approximately 5 months after move in. It kept displaying a error code 12. The builder immediately had his plumber come out. We also included the gas provider in attempting to solve the mystery. After very extensive inspection, it was determined there were no issues at all with plumbing of the gas. Rheem sent another plumber out to change the fire rods. That seem to fix the issue. But, the error code returned approximately 2 months later. At that time, they sent another plumber out to do the same thing. Well, here it goes again... The same error code is back. Rheem has been very unresponsive to my requests. My family and I have had to endure this nightmare for a year and a half. Supposedly, we purchased the “top of the line” unit from Rheem. However, the service I’ve received so far doesn’t reflect that at all. Rheem needs to do the right thing, and replace the unit.
