Baked goods are not cooked properly after following the times given in the chart
Cause 1:
A different temperature than that given in the recipe was used.
Remedy 1:
Select the temperature required for the recipe.
Cause 2:
The ingredient quantities are different from those given in the recipe.
Remedy 2:
Double-check your recipe. The addition of more liquid or more eggs will make a wetter mixture which will take longer to cook.

A noise is heard after the cooking program is complete
Cause:
The cooling fan will continue to run for some time after the oven has been turned off to prevent humidity from building up in the oven, on the control panel or in the surrounding cabinetry.
Remedy:
This is not a fault. There are two settings for the cooling fan:
Temperature-controlled:
The cooling fan turns off when the temperature in the oven drops below 160°F (70°C).
Time-controlled:
The cooling fan will turn off after approx. 25 minutes. Condensation can damage the cabinetry and the countertop. This could lead to corrosion of the appliance. When keeping food warm in the oven, increases to the "Time-Controlled" setting can lead to condensation on the control panel, as well as moisture on the countertop and on the cabinetry.
Do not adjust the "Time-Controlled" setting and try not to leave food in the warm oven.

Rack and other accessories make a noise when being pushed into or pulled out of the oven
Cause:
The heat-resistant surface of the shelf runners creates friction when accessories are taken in and out of the oven.
Remedy:
To reduce friction, lubricate the runners with a few drops of cooking oil applied to a paper towel.
Repeat this process after each self-clean program.

Unpleasant odor is coming from the range
Cause 1:
New ovens can give off an unpleasant odor on the first use; this is normal.
Remedy 1:
1. Heat up the oven for at least 1 hour with nothing inside.
2. Ensure that the kitchen is well ventilated while the appliance is being heated up for the first time.
3. Close doors to other rooms to prevent the smell from spreading throughout the house.
4. Remove any protective wrapping and sticky labels from the oven.
5. Before heating the oven up, wipe the interior with a damp cloth to remove any dust or bits of packaging that may have accumulated in the oven cavity during storage and unpacking.
6. Insert the FlexiClips with wire rack (available to order) to the shelf runners and insert all trays and the rack.
7. Turn on the oven.
8. Proceed as described in Remedy 2.
Cause 2:
The steam injection system has residual water in it from factory testing.
Remedy 2:
Rinse the steam injection system. To do so, proceed as follows:
1. Turn on the oven. The main menu will appear.
2. Select "Operating Modes."
3. Select "Moisture Plus." The default temperature is displayed (350°F/160°C). The oven heating, lighting and cooling fan will turn on.
4. Set the highest possible temperature (475°F/250°C).
5. Confirm with "OK."
6. Select "Automatic burst of steam."
After a short time, a burst of steam is injected automatically.

Oven does not heat up but appears to be operational
The oven can be operated but will not heat up.
Cause:
The demonstration mode is activated. This mode enables the oven to be demonstrated in showrooms without heating up. It should not be set for residential use.
Remedy:
To deactivate the demonstration mode, proceed as follows:
1. Select the "Settings" menu.
2. Swipe across the screen until the "Showroom Program" option appears, then touch it to select.
3. Select "Demo Mode." The currently selected setting will have a colored frame around it.
4. Press and hold the "Off" option for at least 4 seconds to deactivate the demo mode. The oven can now be used normally.

Oven lighting does not turn on
Cause:
The halogen bulb needs to be replaced.
Remedy:
Replace the bulb.
NOTE 1:
Danger of burns! Ensure that the heating elements are turned off and that the oven has had time to cool.
NOTE 2:
The lighting cover may be damaged if it falls. When removing the cover. hold it firmly so that it does not fall. Place a towel on the oven floor to avoid damage to the cover.
NOTE 3:
Do not touch the new halogen bulb with your fingers; always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
To replace the bulb, proceed as follows:
1. Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
2. Loosen the bulb cover with the tool supplied at the back of the frame.
3. Remove the halogen bulb.
4. Replace the defective bulb with a new halogen bulb (Sylvania 66740 120V 40W, G9, FS1).
5. Press the bulb cover back into place.
6. Reconnect the appliance to the power supply.

Long story short, the unit we got turned out to be a lemon. Through AJ Madison's help, Miele's sales organization intervened and cut through the process by just sending us a brand new unit and having Miele's white-glove service people install it, no charge. Now that's what I call service. Kudos to both Miele and John Pereira at AJ Madison. The second unit has been working fine. My suspicion is that Miele hasn't been in the freestanding range business for very long and that it's taken them a couple of years to work out quality control kinks with units in the field, but they've gotten there. The quality control has caught up to the design and functionality, and this is a great range.

Been using the Combi Steam oven and the 30 inch convection oven with steam,
Been using the Combi Steam oven and the 30 inch convection oven with steam, both with M Touch for 4 months now. Yes they work perfect as expected but the ovens make most of our foods taste better. Really is an amazing thing. I almost always use M Touch which helps me make my cooking adventures successful. The Combi Steam replaces our microwave which is not permitted in her new completely redone home. It does take about three minutes Longer to heat up food instead of seconds in a micro. But.....the texture of the food is unchanged. That alone makes the steamer worth the cash. When I am heating up pot pie, pasta or pizza, because you control the percent steam in the oven, the food never ever dries out, usually tastes like it first came out of the oven the day before. Cooks lobsters as good as you will find anywhere. Now as far as reliability goes, way too early but I am protected for five years on these two (6780 and 6700) and the Miele dishwasher and six burner cook top. They all work better than any appliance I ever owned. And the dishwasher solves all my issues with dish washing.......very Pleased
