Two years ago, my wife and I purchased an LG 7957295 French Door refrigerator. Its now 2020 and the compressor is shot. Sears wants $1000 to repair it or will give me a %50 discount if I pay $50 ($600 per year) for an appliance (all) warranty. I could have purchased a $3000 refrigerator for that amount of money. I checked and sure enough the LGs are having problems with their linear compressors I am told. The reviews say it and the repairmen are saying it. Yet, LG continues to sell them. Last, we have had numerous problems with this refrigerator from the start, loud auger sound in back, dents if you look at it, fingerprint resistant is anything but. I am heading out to buy a new refrigerator since I dont want any more problems with this item.

We have only had our LG stove for 6 years and it now has a large, jagged crack across the entire top. We have not dropped anything on it and have taken very good care of it, so it had to be the heat from the burners. We also have an LG dishwasher which we have had to have repaired NUMEROUS times. AND we have an LG refrigerator that, all of the sudden, the light bulb inside wouldnt turn off and it was heating up all of our food and we had to have that repaired. I will never buy another LG product again. We bought all three at once so they would match when we moved into our house 6 years ago and we have had problems with ALL of them.

We purchased our LG refrigerator in 2012, French door with ice maker. Please be aware our ice maker once again has ceased to work. This will be our 4th ice maker to be replaced, IF we have it replaced, since 2012. Even though we purchased it in 2012, we are not eligible for the flat rate repair cost, (only eligible for models from 2012) and apparently, as per LG, it was manufactured in 2011. I have never been so unhappy with this refrigerator therefore would never recommend LG to anyone. And, as a side note, the paint is already coming off from below the ice maker on the outside. We called LG and explained this all to them but they were unable to help us. This has been such a frustrating experience for us.

We purchased an LG French Door Refrigerator with water & ice maker in November 2009. We recently had problems with both the fridge & the freezer not cooling. We bought the fridge from Sears, so we spoke to the Sears parts service & told them what the issues were. They suggested a part that they felt would solve the problem. So we ordered the part & put it in. This part did not help the situation. After 2 days, the fridge stopped working all together. We lost all the food in the fridge & the freezer. We called a local repairman to come & look at it. He said there was a leak of freon in the seal system. It was not something he could fix. He said that in the 40 years he has serviced refrigerators, this was the only time he came across this issue. Especially with a 5.5 yr. old unit.So we called LG & they said they would replace the seal system, but we would have to pay the labor since their 1 year warranty ran out. The repairman had told us that they would have to take the fridge apart completely to find the leak, if they could indeed find it & that it could take hours to do. We explained all this to LG & said that was all they could do for us. Really? We paid $2000 for the unit & it is 5.5 yrs old. I would think something that was supposedly worth that kind of money would last much longer than that & LG would be willing to do more to rectify the situation. Dont buy an LG product! They dont live up to their name!

As soon as the warranty (1 YR) was over... Problems started. Temperature changed by itself; called LG they connected to the unit and fixed it, but continue to ask for me to get extra warranty (I did not). Unit started icing inside and water inside as well, after several (self do it yourself) defrosting, problem continued. Called LG again and they said they could not take care of it, that I needed to make appointment with them to have it fixed. I told them I would take the frig/unit and drop it in front of the store explaining to everyone what was wrong with it and worthless it was. They got connected online and reset it and it worked fine for a while. Now its doing it again. All of their units are worthless even their cell V10 & V20, their dishwasher its also another piece of crap. NEVER AGAIN will I ever buy LG. So far stove/oven and microwave works... but give it time. BTW, units are less than three years old and Im hardly ever home to use them, so it should only be about 6 months worth of use. Thank God I didnt buy the washer and dryer from them.

I purchased the LG Probake gas range 2 1/2 years ago. Of course after a year the warranty was up and I had to have it repaired. It cost 300.00 to repair and it is very hard to find someone to work on it. I was told LG doesnt have spec sheets for anyone to repair their products. It makes it hard. I was also told that it is hard to find parts as LG Discontinues them frequently. Got it fixed in December of 2019 and here we are again. The convection oven stopped working and was shooting out flames. I researched and found out this always fails on this range. Totally disappointed. Couldnt find anyone to repair it in my area and I tried to order the part for it and spent an additional 80.00. Still can not get it to work. Now I am at the point of buying a different range and definitely wont be an LG. I am so upset. I wasted my money. It was the first brand new range I purchased for my family and I have only had it for 2 and a half years.

I purchased a LG top loader 10 kg washing machine. During a wash cycle it Exploded blowing the top of the machine right off. The force of the explosion was so intense that it smashed the near by window and sent shrapnel flying throughout the house. I contacted LG and asked why are these machines still in family homes. They need to be urgently recalled. After research I have found the same LG washing machines that have exploded in other people’s home. LG refuse to even replace the machine even with a receipt provided. These machines are dangerous. Please Beware when purchasing a LG washing machine. They are dangerous. I’m very thankful that I wasn’t standing in front of it at the time or my young grandchildren weren’t in the house. Very frightening experience and to think the company know these machines have the potential to Explode and do nothing. Very dangerous product.

We have owned a LG French door bottom freezer refrigerator for about 3 years. The following problems occurred: 1. Ice maker failed and had to be replaced. $500.00 for labor and parts. 2. Ice maker cannot make enough for drinks for a dinner party of 4 throughout the evening. 3. Ice maker chute flap door will not close and allows ice to melt and then freeze and clogs chute. 4. Purchased product for new home in early 2015. Two and a half years later, (before the fourth of July holiday), it died. Stopped cooling. Waited for several days, since repairman came to our area once a week. But that was just the service call. After close to $1,000.00 in labor, service call and tax, one week later the repairs were made. Refrigerator worked until lo and behold two years later almost to the day, the same issues occurred. JUNE 13, 2019 to be exact. This was a Wednesday and of course the day service is available in our area is Tuesday, we waited a week for the service call and a second week for repair. Compressor and several other parts replaced again. As the repairman was getting ready to leave, the fridge DIED. He stated he knew something was really wrong with our unit and claimed it unrepairable.Enter LG. No you need to replace the heat exchanger. It is now over two weeks since this repair and still no fix for refrigerator and it is Wednesday so you can bet no resolution until AT LEAST next Tuesday if at all. Mind you we are under warranty for parts and labor which we should have been two years ago also. We will never and will advertise to all the new builds on our community website to stay away from LG Refrigerators. Spent over 2 hours on the phone with LG service and no help whatsoever. So bottom line --- Dont go the LG route. Buy American.

I bought a home last year which came with the LG TruBalance top load washer
I bought a home last year which came with the LG TruBalance top load washer. I began having issues immediately with the “UE” code. It did not matter how large or small the load was, this code would come up every time I used the machine. I was constantly having to babysit the machine, re-distributing the clothes over & over again just to finally get one load done, taking close to 2 hours sometimes longer just to do one load. A lot of times I could see dry spots on the clothing, or I could see that the clothing was not clean. I had a repairman come who told me the issue was the computer software & that it would be better for me to replace this part rather than buying a whole new machine. I purchased the part & for a month I had no issues. Then the machine began to leak water from underneath, soaking my floor & also my dryer. Also, the dreaded “UE” code made a comeback, causing the machine to continue to refill with water repeatedly, start to spin, then flash the error code. I am so fed up with this machine that I have ordered a new Whirlpool with agitator just like I used to have. This LG is by far the worst machine I have ever owned, & I will not be buying any other LG appliances in the future.

I bought an LG top loading washing machine with direct drive a couple of years back. Perhaps a year later, I began to regularly get UE error messages (uneven load) which would stop the cycle. I would have to open the door, try to redistribute the wet laundry and then restart the cycle. Sometimes multiple times for 1 load. It would often TAKE LITERALLY 3-5 HOURS to do a single load of laundry!!! Sometimes, the machine will try to correct the idiotic error by automatically refilling the tub with water... I guess in an effort to redistribute the load. This never works. The machine has gotten progressively worse with this UE issue to the point that now it stops on 80-90% of the cycles! I often end up having to stand by the machine during the spin cycle until it either stops and gives the error message or begins to refill the tub, then I have to turn off the machine and put the soaking wet clothes into the dryer. As I write this, it is 11 pm and I just put a soaking wet load of laundry that started at 630 pm into the dryer. It doesnt matter if I put in a tiny load or a big load. It doesnt matter if I adjust the spin speed to low or medium. It still gives the UE error on most of the loads. Whats more, the machine has a spin only option - one might think that this means spin only. Nope. Ive tried selecting that option to empty the tub after several UE errors, but it will inevitably start filling with water again. How spin only turns into filling the tub with water is beyond me. Absolutely ridiculous. This machine is supposed to be energy efficient, but It Wastes energy by running and re-running for hours on end, WASTES WATER BY SENSELESSLY REFILLING FOR NO REASON AND WASTES ITS OWNERS VALUABLE TIME. WASTE OF MONEY! Do NOT buy LG Top load washer!!!

I got my stove 6 months ago and had the same issue as so many others. The stove knobs turn on so easily by accident. Its very dangerous, most times we would know we bumped the knob and just turn it off, but we had one close call when the knob was accidentally turned on and we didnt realize, well one close call was enough for me. Range LG as many others have said “what a waste of time“. So I started online looking for something to protect my family and I. I came across RangeSafe knobs. I saw these safety stove knobs online and while not cheap, it is impossible to turn the knobs on accidentally. For me the price was worth the peace of mind knowing NO MORE ACCIDENTAL KNOB TURNS.

I have had an LRG30357ST range for almost 4 years now. All of the knobs have cracked at the base and now we had a gas leak from the burners because they wont shut off all the way. I have contacted LG and they wont do anything because I cant find a copy of the receipt from 4 years ago. You would think that having the stove should be enough proof that it was purchased! Now we are out of a stove until I spend $400 on 5 knobs or buy a new stove! You would think with all of the complaints and the safety factor, they would have a recall and replace the cheap knobs with one that have a metal base. They charge $73.52 plus tax and shipping for each replacement knob on www.LG.com. For that price, they should be able to make one out of stainless steel and not plastic.

This built-in oven came with the house. Its beautiful. But, I dont think its ever worked quite right. There are lots of things I like about it - the proof setting for proofing bread, roll-out rack, convection roast mode. However, it does not hold oven temperatures properly, preheats slowly, and the fan is noisy. It is now totally dead at less than 6 years old, and wont heat on any setting. We are waiting for a service callback, who knows how long it will be. I would not be surprised if parts are no longer available as this seems to be a problem with LG and Samsung. If we have to buy another oven it wont be an LG. I wish I could find an induction or smoothtop range that performs well but does not have a lot of electronics, which seem to be the bane of all modern ranges. I am an experienced cook and baker but do not like gas as we have a tight house.

We purchased a side-by-side model. When they delivered the refrigerator, it would not square up; it looked crooked. They said it worked fine and could not take it back. When we noticed it was bulging from the sides and was wider in the middle, that sort of looked like a problem. The drawers would not stay in the grooves. When we called, they said they would get back with us, which they never did. The refrigerator was bought in 2008. Then the water valve for the ice maker went bad. I called to buy a replacement part, but they no longer make that part. So Im out of luck with a $2100 refrigerator that has no ice maker. Updated on 08/15/2020: Its now 8/15/2020, nearly 10 weeks into the saga of my LG refrigerator. The tech called me on 7/1/20 to say that a refund had been approved. It took until 7/16/20 to get an email with instructions to follow to get the refund. I followed the instructions and used the FedEx label provided on 7/20/20 by putting the form in the FedEx box. I sent emails and texts to the LG customer service contact and their support center on 8/3/20, 8/10/20 & 8/14/20. I also scanned their letter with the label from the unit (which was fedexed on 7/20) and attached it to the last email in the event that they attempt to say they never got it. Still no response. This is now beyond ridiculous. Oh, did I forget to mention the fact that I have ordered a replacement unit, which is from another manufacturer, but due to Covid-19 wont be available for 4 - 8 weeks and I have to pay for the removal of the LG unit?Updated on 07/16/2020: I posted my story up to 7/11/20, and received a response from LG requesting more of my information on 7/13/20, which I provided, but have not heard back. Meanwhile the customer service rep sends text messages without responding to my texts. Apparently they want the model sticker off the fridge, which I sent a photo of, and since their factory tech already physically inspected the sticker, I am not sure why they want me to scrape it off and mail it in. At this point they should come pick up the unit and keep it for themselves and maybe figure out what is wrong with their product. Meanwhile, remember this started with the freezer side not working, their repairs rendered the entire unit out of commission. By the way, did I mention that it is mid-summer, heat wave time of year. Oh, yeah and now that I am shopping for a replacement, I come to find out there are none available for at least 4 - 6 weeks.Original Review: My 3 1/2 year old LG refrigerator side by side model #LSXS26366S began to act up on 6/7/20 when the freezer side stopped working. Called service on 6/8/20 and was told their factory tech would come out on 6/16/20. Received parts boxes delivery during same week. Tech spent 4 hours at my home on 6/16/20. Left me with trash and old parts, said it was fixed. Next morning some up to a unit that didnt work at all, had to throw away food since fridge side now did not work. Tech came back on 6/17, worked 2 hours and said he had to order more parts, which turned out to be the same ones. They arrived on 6/22, he came back out that same day, spent another 4 hours on unit, said it was fixed, give it 24 hours and then it would be good to go. Called tech on 6/24 since once again the unit was not working. More spoiled food. Good thing it was time to replace the unit. He started process of filing report with my proof of purchase and model info. I also called LG customer service and spent 2.5 hours on the phone to file claim. Provided same proof of purchase info. Got call from tech on 7/2/20 that my unit was approved for replacement. Followed up with customer service, another 1.25 hours later was told to submit my info again and would hear back in 7 to 10 business days.I submitted written request for response on 7/7/20 since they do not answer phone calls. Received email written by an semi-illiterate person named Alexuis ** at LG asking for my info all over again. I forwarded photos of proof of purchase and model that from unit. Now told to remove sticker with model info and FedEx to them and wait another 2 weeks for payment. Not sure how a company of this size can be so poorly run and how they have all these built-in delays to basically force you to just go away. Will never purchase another LG product again and warn everyone I know to beware!

I have a front load washer. I have no trouble with this machine, it’s easy to use, adjustable temperature controls which I like. Adjustable spin controls, excellent in spinning out, almost dry when I put them in the dryer, cuts drying time a lot. Takes only 20 to 30 min to dry large load. Impressive. LG Gas stove - bought this year - I just walked into the kitchen and smelled gas. This is the fourth time this has happened. I didnt use the stove today, so someone must have accidentally brushed against the stove and slightly turned the knob. There is no safety apparatus to alert you to the knob turning or that gas is leaking (stove doesnt automatically light). I cant believe in this day and age that this appliance passed any safety inspections. Thank goodness I dont have any small children, Id get this stove out of the house immediately. As it is, I frequently go into the kitchen just to verify that none of the stove knobs are turned, I am now paranoid we are going to blow up...

We called LG directly because our 2-year-old French door refrigerator was icing up in the back of our refrigerator. They diagnosed the problem and told us the evaporator fan needed replacing. Even though the fan was supposedly under warranty, we were still quoted a price of $358 for the service call. Our credit card was charged upon placing the appointment with their service department, but nobody ever called or showed at the appointed time. We called LG customer service the next business day only to be placed on hold and after being told they were checking it out, they never came back on the line!!! Will never buy another LG product. Still trying to get our money refunded.

Tried to find one that was rated good in Consumer Affairs. I have had this pair for about 5 years. I looked at consumer feedback to find one that was rated well. They seem to do ok. I dont like the odor coming from the washer when you have the door closed too long, so I always leave it open when not in use. I look for capacity, energy efficiency, discounts, brand, quality. How fast they will come out and repair if it breaks down. I look for quality and price has to enter in on it. Most expensive is not always what I want. It may not have the features I want. I want and need large size that keeps working.

My expensive LG side by side refrigerator isnt even 3 years old. We noticed melting ice and water on the floor. The freezer section was no longer getting cold at all. Everything inside thawed out. The refrigerator sounded like it was still running and the cold side is only slightly cool. I called Lowes this morning (Sunday, Thanksgiving weekend) and they told me that the parts were covered but I will have to pay for labor. The earliest repair appointment is for Tuesday. Im not sure how much the labor will cost, but there is definitely a pattern on the reviews that have been posted. When I purchased it LG had great reviews, but obviously they are now using cheap parts. I hope this review saves someone else time and money, because now I am stuck with this expensive but cheaply made refrigerator.

My refrigerator (LSXS22423) a side by side is 2 years and 3 months old. Wasnt making ice Sunday and by Monday everything in freezer was thawed. The compressor is shot!! Really... 2 years??? I was told by a person who SELLS LG refrigerators that he wouldnt recommend them to anyone. Their compressors are known to die after about 2 years... Really?? He said even if you wanted to repair it they would use the same compressor model that failed and since so many of them are failing we are looking at a 3 to 4 month wait-list... Really?? I bought a whole new LG kitchen 2 years ago. My fault I did not read the reviews first. Totally my fault, but when you pay $1700 for a fridge you expect more than two years out of it. I had a GE before and had it for 18 years. Still worked when I bought my precious LG. I am a senior who has to watch his money and this situation just makes me sick. I dont deserve this nor do any of the other LG customers who have been screwed. Where is the Quality Control?? It is a crime and you should be ashamed. 2 years... REALLY?? Yeah, really!!!

We purchased our LG washer dryer pair at Home Depot around 5 years ago, and they has been working fine. Today we noticed the glass lid on the washing machine had spontaneously shattered like a car windshield might. It was still intact but had fractured into hundreds of 1/4 to 1/2 pieces. I contacted LG and was told that this was very rare and was directed to several authorized LG service vendors. A simple Google search shows that many people have had this exact experience with this very same LG washer model. It seems to obviously be a design defect, as it was not being used or touched when the glass shattered. If the glass had disintegrated into the tub I suspect the washing machine would have to replaced. As it is a replacement lid from Sears PartsDirect will be here in two days. In the meantime the lid was very simple to remove. What an odd part failure... LG should take responsibility for this problem for this model washer, which many people have experienced. I was lucky that more damage was not done.

I turned in a Warranty Claim on my LG French Door Refrigerator which LG denied, their reason being that because when the serviceman came out he could not duplicate the problem. It was very obvious that the water had leaked underneath the refrigerator on the left side damaging my wood floor on my new home that I had just moved into on June 9, 2016, the refrigerator had been ordered online from Sears and hooked up by Sears servicemen. The water damaged wood under the refrigerator was found when the refrigerator had to be moved for some touchup painting behind the refrigerator. There is nowhere else the water could have come from except the refrigerator. There had been a rotten egg smell in the appliance for about 2 weeks, but there were was nothing rotten in the fridge, I even switched out the filter and put charcoal in the fridge... It finally dissipated after about 2 weeks. I told the repairman about this and he said a water line possibly got stopped up and then it released the water. The problem is he didnt put that on his report, he just put that problem could not be duplicated.

Bought a LG top load washer in 2013 and I hate it. Its a constant battle with the machine flashing messages and being unbalanced and constantly refilling with water and not wanting to spin. Totally wastes tons of water which we have to pay for living with a cistern and ironically I bought it because it was supposed to use less water, what a joke. I have never had to stand and watch a washing machine until I bought this evil machine. Oh why do I have to watch it so it doesnt waste all our water when it starts flashing the unbalanced code so then I have to stop it and try to move the wet clothes around so the stupid thing will continue on. I wouldnt wish this machine on anyone even if they were my enemy, its horrible. Im going back to a top loading Kenmore with a normal agitator that actually cleans the clothes. The only positive is that I bought the LG dryer at the same time and Ive actually had no problems with that.

Bought model # LMX25964 refrigerator in August 2011. As of May 11, 2015, this appliance just stopped working. Since very few appliance repair businesses are allowed to work on LG appliances, we called LG customer service. Here are directions we were given: Unplug the fridge. Wait awhile. Plug it back in. Open and close the two freezer doors three times. Now, wait 24 hours before opening the freezer again. (am guessing this is when the Voodoo Doctor will visit). We are in that 24 hour wait as I type. We have a 3 1/2 year old LG refrigerator (French door, door in door) that we had installed in our new house. While I love the features, the repairs have been a nightmare. We are currently on our 4th compressor. Each time we have been 1-3 weeks without a refrigerator. We ended up having to buy a little one to get us through. With the installation of the last compressor, our warrantly was extended. The current compressor is supposed to be one of the “new improved” ones. After about 6 months, we lost cooling in the refrigerator and freezer. Part of our meat defrosted (we took pictures). The ice melted in the ice machine. There was no sound coming from the compressor for about a day. Then it started working again. 2 1/2 days later, we had ice. We called repair and it was going to take a week for “their” repairman to even make the first visit. This company had terrible reviews and no way to contact them. We asked to be changed to another certified repair company. We waited 5 days for them. When they inspected the refrigerator, since it had started working again, they could not find anything wrong with it other than high pressure in a line and told us we had to pay the bill. So now we are still on compressor 4 (5 would kick in the lemon law), it stops working when it pleases, fails to consistently keep our refrigerator/freezer compartment at the selected temperature (can be off by 10 degrees), and because the problem is intermittent, we have to pay for the repairman to come if it starts working again before they get there. Love the LG features but will never have another LG refrigerator.

We just purchased a LG 24 CU foot french door refrigerator which was returned 4 days after we started using it. This refrigerator was advertised as having gallon container storage in the door. Wrong. Unless you wanted to turn your gallon of milk on its side to try and fit it into the opening provided. With much rearranging we finally did manage to fit a gallon in the door but had to not use one of the shelves provided to make that work. Then we noticed on about the third day (it takes about 2-3 days for the refrigerator to start making ice) that even overnight we were only getting about 1 1/2 cups of ice cubes. We could make two drinks and be out of ice. They advertise that the ice maker being in the door frees up more freezer room when in fact the container that holds the ice is very, very small and the shelves below the ice maker are nearly useless. The final straw was the water dispenser. Look very closely at where the water comes out of the dispenser. It is an engineering nightmare. Overall we felt like the design of the LG frig was far inferior to many of the other brands. Our recommendation would be either the Whirlpool or the Samsung.

The refrigerator had touch screen features, good temperature functions, and enough room for all my groceries. The height and width was good, as well as the space it took up. I would improve the amount of time the warranty lasts and probably more cost effective. The cost is pretty high for some of the products, however, I enjoy the appliance. I chose this brand because its a well known brand and everything works well as expected. Im a fan of other products from LG and they work great. Great purchase and easy to use.

Bought a brand new LG French Door Refrigerator in 2015 from Home Depot and here I am almost 4 years later and it has completely failed. I had the technician from the local LG authorized repair company and he diagnosed that my evaporator has failed and that between parts and labor it will cost somewhere between $1000 and $1200 to fix this LG French Door Refrigerator. What a total pile of crap. I would expect when paying $2200 for a new LG fridge that it would at least last 10 years or more without a major breakdown. So going by the rule of thumb on when to replace or repair a refrigerator since the repair cost is going to be more than half the cost of a new refrigerator I will be replacing this LG piece of crap with a new refrigerator of some other brand. Also I am now so turned off by LG I will never buy any of their products ever again in my lifetime and I will encourage everyone I know to do the same.

We purchased an LG washer in July of 2014. I have not liked it from the start - tub is too deep, fills with very little water to wash clothes, feel clothes are not clean. The washer broke on July 30 and repairman from Sears, where we purchased washer and dryer, came the next day. He advised us that valve was broken so water was running in constantly. He told us he would have to order it from South Korea (what?). Not acceptable but he could not order it in U.S. I called Sears Parts and was told they had the part and would send to us. The part arrived on August 3, and the next day two more valves arrived from Texas. I called tech dept but was told our tech had set August 10 for repair and they could not change that!! How screwed up is this? Never purchase LG again nor will I purchase appliances from Sears. Totally disgusted. Tqq.

WM2050CW - We purchased this machine in 2010 and it seemed the answer to all our prayers. It worked great, cleaned well and the clothes were almost dry when they were done - very little time in the dryer to get them done. The machine wasnt cheap but it would save energy and use less water and of course cut down on dryer time. Then this year problems arose and it was out of warranty. No problem, I thought, just call a repairman and all will be good. WRONG. Found out most will not work on the Korean made LGs. The parts are hard to get and expensive and the service from LG itself is horrible. This coming from the tech that we finally found to come out and work on it. Great we thought, get it fixed and back to washing. WRONG again. Pump was shot and the supports on the center drum were beginning to go. Okay how much to fix? We asked. $400 for the pump which could take up to two weeks to even get and up to a $1000 to replace the supports. OUCH!!!! Needless to say repairs were not done. Called several repair businesses to get a recommendation for a replacement. All came up with the same answer...... DONT buy another front loader. Reason: not built to last, parts are expensive, and some brands like LG nobody will work on. So we went back to the good old top loader and it is a Speed Queen and it has a 3 year warranty and according to all the repair people we talked to it is one of the most dependable out there. The best part it is made here in the good ole USA..... If you think front loaders are great look them up on youtube and see what happens when the supports go............ SCARY.

I purchased a condo in October 2010. The condo came with an almost new LG washer/dryer (WM2101). The washing machine has not lasted even 5 years. About a month ago, the washer shut down with an Le error. I called the LG 800 help number and was instructed on how to reset the machine. Multiple attempts at resetting did not resolve the problem. After determining an authorized LG service provider in the southern California area, I had a service representative come to assess/diagnose the error. The service provider could tell me that from the serial number of the machine, that it had been manufactured in November 2009 - less than a year before I purchased the condo. Now, it is May 2015 - not even 6 years since date of manufacture - and the machine is shot. The Le error is due to worn out bearings in the machine. During the less than 5 years that I have owned this condo (and the washer/dryer), the machine has not even been used that much. The cost of repair of the machine (by this authorized service provider) would exceed the cost of a new LG washing machine. Not only would the cost of repair of the washing machine be excessive, the LG service provider did not recommend keeping the existing LG dryer, which was stacked on top of the washer. So, I would have to pay for removal of both machines - with an additional cost of $160 to unstack the machines. As far as I am concerned, I never intend on purchasing another LG appliance. I am appalled that the US government allows companies to prey on US consumers with the current quality of workmanship of manufactured goods - especially large (and expensive) appliances. What happened to appliances that lasted 20+ years - or even 10 years? These large appliances that do not last but 5 years are ending up in our landfills - or having to be disassembled for recycling. Environmentalists and legislators - where are you?

Updated on 11/08/2019: Have had an ongoing problem with a compressor on an LG refrigerator that is 5 years old and no it out. When the service tech came out on 10/24, the unit was eligible to be fixed free of charge, (which they told me would cost hundreds of dollars). When I complained to LG via ConsumerAffairs, they posted this response on 11/07. When I called them today to inquire about getting it fixed free, they said that now that is was November, we no longer qualified since it was now more than 5 years old, (by 7 days since it was manufactured in October of 2014). Why would they tell me this and then recant it? See screenshot below.... Beware of LG Refrigerators and LG in total, I have two of these refrigerators and their TVs.Original Review: The compressor on our LG refrigerator went out after just 5 years, although its under warranty, it doesnt cover Labor which turn out is several hundred dollars. In addition, it takes weeks to get the parts, not fun when your fridge is down for several weeks. I have two LG refrigerators that we spent more than $2,000 for each....terrible investment. Beware of LG refrigerators.

We did not open the box until today march 27 2015 and found that the door of the oven got one hinge loose... that mean the door is only connected to stove by one hinge and the other side is hanging when open. And there is a big dent on the stove... We rushed back to Frys in the city of industry to exchange it or return it... but we were told they wont accept our return or exchange. The return department at frys gave us the number 1800 243 0000 to contact LG to settle the problem... so we called LG and the LG operator told us that there is nothing they can do. I felt like it is not fair to us. We paid for a brand new oven and got a defective one and no one seemed to be willing take a responsibility for that. We are stuck with a defective stove. The service was very bad. We were actually told by the manager step out of my store, the exit is that way! twice. We would like them to exchange the oven or refund my money.. All of our appliances and most of our TVs are LG products. They will all be replaced with another brand when the time comes. The Linear Compressor in the french door refrigerators are known defects. Good news is that a class action lawsuit was filed against LG. I had mine diagnosed by a local repairman. He says he sees at least (2) of them every week and sometimes several more. Unfortunately, he was not an LG contractor so he could not get the compressor directly. I would have to contact LG and get authorization letter he can use to order the part and I would have to pay him for labor on installation. I didnt want to have to deal with LG (customer service sucks!!). I called their helpline and explained that I needed someone to replace the compressor that was covered under parts warranty. They said I would have to pay another diagnostic fee. The the tech could schedule the repair. A 2500 refrigerator that lasted (5) years and now I am paying to have it fixed. The Kenmore in my garage is over 20 years old and I have never had an issue with it. Fool me once, shame on you - fool me twice, shame on me. I will not buy an LG appliance again. On the second visit while disconnecting and reconnecting the wiring at the back of the oven, the problem was resolved (no parts changed). If I could give warning signs or negative stars I would! Bought my first machine about a year ago. I havent had a working washing machine since. The machine didnt work from day one. My husband called the company and got the run around for 3 weeks. I contacted Home depot and they got an LG authorized repairman to look at it. Needed a water pump (so they say). Mind you it has only been used twice. They also warned me of the special low-sudsing soap needed (another excuse). Home depot replaced it. However, the second one was just as bad as the first and had the exact same problems. As far as the soap, I ran it with no soap and had the same issues. My last two machines lasted about 10 years each with one service visit between them and they used any kind of soap! They werent top of the line expensive machines either. Im ready to eat the purchase and chuck this piece of junk. The company should give free service to everyone who bought their junk products for 3 years or be sued for selling substandard lemons. No way were they unaware that their product was junk. Two machines in a month and neither work. I will never, never buy an LG product ever again.

Back in 2012, I purchased $8000 worth of LG appliances for my kitchen and laundry. Long story short I have replaced the dishwasher, it could not be repaired. In September of this year, the microwave exhaust had a mind of its own. It would come on and off by itself. To use the it I would plug it in and unplug it. The part to repair it was more than half the price of a new one. In September I purchased the model LMH2235ST. A short time later the exhaust fan stopped working. I called customer service more than a dozen times. They gave me a case number and said they will call when to set up a date to come and repair. After many calls to them they kept saying they would expedite it. I have heard that several times more. I have asked them to send another to my home with a return label, but they said they could not do that. I called customer service just now December first, now I dont even get to speak to anyone, the recording says to go online. So thank you LG for nothing!!

I have had the LG WT4870CT top load washer that I purchased exactly two years ago. I noticed rust around the bleach dispenser so I notified LG and let them know about the problem. When I finally got the proof of purchase to them they told me that I did not wipe the area properly. The rust is coming from under the bleach dispenser, leaking through to the top. I will need to hire someone to get to the area under the dispenser so I can take a picture of the problem. If I do it myself they might say they will not guarantee something that was not professionally repaired. It is very frustrating.

LG WM2301HW Washing Machine has been nothing but problems. I started a load and smelled something burning. I found the washing machine not working ... its burning from within, black burning internally - arched inside on the wires - caught fire. LG does not want to recognize that there is a problem... This is a huge legality and liability for LG. No machine should catch on fire... LG needs to make it right. Could this model be a recall? I found a lot of bad reviews on this model.

LG True Balance Salesman said they were good. They were new, seemed high tech & efficient. Had to take the first one back. It walked, dont like the one now. It comes unbalanced all the time. The next time Im going to look for a wringer type washing machine with the thing in the center. The other ones are the pits and I wont be purchasing another like it. Too expensive. I do not like side loading washers. It is hard on the back and inconvenient. Fed up with the washer. It continually is unbalanced, doesnt let you know it stopped and have to constantly check it to make sure its still working.

Top of the line LG purchased in Spring 2018. Was expensive. Control panel uses touchpads on hard plastic service which also serves as the door handle. We bought a 2 year extended warranty. The new vertical cracks cover the control touch pads, and will eventually render the dishwasher inoperative. Of course, it is considered normal wear and tear, and not covered by warranty. But, for $240 plus $250 flat rate service charge, I can get it replaced. How long before it cracks again? What a piece of junk. Do not ever buy a dishwasher that has flimsy handles which house the controls....

This washer left flakes of filth on my clothes after less than a month of washing for a family of 2! Customer Service said to buy a product at Home Depot and run “tub clean”. I did this but the flakes come back every 2-3 weeks and I must run the tub clean cycle and use the product, then rewash my clothes! What a waste of time, money and water! After running tub clean, the tub still needs to be wiped out. At 5’1” I cannot reach the bottom of the tub. I use a step stool which throws off my center of gravity. I also fear that the pressure on my ribs may fracture them...I am 69 and have osteoporosis. I wish I’d never bought this washer.

I purchased a top load LG washer and dryer about 5 years ago. The washer takes 3 times as long to complete cycles than it should. It begins to rinse and spin, then the UE signal comes on. After rebalancing the clothes the rinsing and spinning cycles begin again and the entire sequence happens over and over. I now have to manually wait for the spinning to almost finish then stop the cycle (this even happens with small loads so I am not overloading the washer). The washer has been balanced numerous times as well. If I don’t monitor the situation it can take over 2 1/2 hours for a simple load of laundry to finish. I have also noticed a foul smell at times which necessitates the use of bleach and/or Lysol for cleaning the tub. The dryer has been fine but the washer has been very disappointing and I’m sure has cost much more in utility bills due to unmonitored cycle times when I am not watching closely enough.

I purchased this washer (WT4801CW) new in December 2011 from Home Depot. I have been happy with it until just recently when my washer just stopped in the middle of the wash cycle. I tried to push the power button to re-start the load but the display was dead - no lights, no sounds - nothing! The lid was locked and would not open but my husband figured out how to get lid to open. We manually had to wring out all the towels I had in the washer and then dip out all the water. I called LG but all they told me was that since I didnt buy extended warranty they couldnt help me.Apparently the guy I talked to at LG wasnt in the US as he had no idea how to pronounce Louisville and asked me what KY stood for. My husband is quite the repairman and was able to figure out that the fuse on the noise reducer was bad along with having no power on the main Power Control Board. It cost us around $160 to replace these parts and thankfully my husband was able to do all the work himself. LG stands for Lifes Good, but apparently this is a joke on us!

I purchased a refrigerator, dishwasher and gas range for my new home that I moved in to in 2019. Close to 5000$. Of course they are all out of warranty now and during Christmas of 2021 pieces of enamel was being found in my food I was baking in the oven. Needless to say this has to be a manufacturers defect because nothing I have done would warrant chips of enamel falling off. I called they said, Nope its out of warranty. Even with the fact that we could have consumed some of the enamel they do NOT care. Even the man that I called about checking it out said LG was hard to work with. I am hoping to get this resolved soon being I can not use my oven for fear of consuming enamel. I was so proud at how all three units looked in my kitchen and people were impressed with the look of them. Shame on you LG for selling expensive crap!! And then refusing to take care of your customers.

LG said they could schedule a service in EIGHT DAYS, even though its 95 degrees, and we have a house full of kids who cant go to school due to COVID. While this refrigerator seems to have everything as youre reviewing it, it absolutely SUCKS! Not only does the product suck, the service on the product sucks. You seen $3k on a product and you would like to think that the degenerates that sell the thing might have an ounce of human decency in them but they dont. DONT EVER BUY AN LG PRODUCT!!! They want your money, they couldnt care less about you.I have this piece of ** refrigerator and the ice maker always (in literal terms: 9 days out of 10) freezes up and you have to pull out the ice maker, stab the chute with a knife to break up the ice cluster and it spreads the ice cubes all over the kitchen because it takes force to get it out. You have to cut in the tiny gap between the pull-out device and the door to sever the ice dam, then pull... to the point where you think the plastic will break... the ice maker out. It explodes in a shower of ice cubes that fling all over your kitchen. All that water/ice is wasted, you are MORE THAN PISSED OFF constantly and you never have access to anything but floor-ice. I would never recommend any product by this manufacturer because they simply dont care. I was told...You bought it. Figure out how to use it the best in your house. Also, their water filters are ridiculously priced. I hope the manager of their support catches dick cancer and dies in front of his own mother.

The dishwasher drain stopped functioning, the freezer drawer would not stay on the tracks, and the oven’s control panel got super hot when baking and after a couple of calls to troubleshoot that never fixed it, I tried to run a self-clean and the control panel got so hot it fried the oven completely and it went black and stayed locked. I have had less than acceptable experiences with this fridge since we purchased it Feb. 27, 2012 from Home Depot. Soon after our purchase, it started making really loud grinding and lawn mower noises. They would last for a week, and then stop. At first, we thought it may be normal, but as the problem persisted, I called to have someone help me understand what was happening. They said it was buildup of frost, and explained what to do. Long story short, it kept happening, and finally our freezer drawer stopped suctioning. Someone came out, and everything seemed to be ok, and now it is happening again. Freezer door is not closing on its own and soon we will have the same problem. I called LG they want almost $400 to send someone out! Last time I had to send my receipt, the printed order from Home Depot and had several case numbers just to get it repaired. We have a fridge in our garage that is 20 years old and it works perfectly fine, but has rust on the doors and shows its age - which is why we bought a new product, supposedly better, but very disappointing. I will not purchase another LG fridge again.

It had a leaking Tromm front loader. This ruined my 180 sq. ft. of ash hardwood flooring costing approximately $2000.00. After the floor was replaced and a pan placed under the machine, I have noticed that it fills up about once a week. This leak is coming from the dispenser tray! I noticed water and soap residue on the inside of the front panel that had also caused the door hinge to start rusting. After closer inspection of the dispenser during operation, I can see water hitting the angled section of the tray and running over the side. LG said a repair tech would have to fix this, but without a newly designed part, it will just do the same thing again. This is not caused by too much soap as some might suggest because it does this with or without adding soap! The only solution I see is to buy another brand after spending over $1000.00 a year for a poorly designed product.

So disappointed in this product and customer service! My husband and I built a house in 2017. Bought all of our appliances range, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator all in a bundle from Lowe’s in Bedford, IN. So elated about having a new house with all new appliances! My elation quickly turned in to total frustration! Only after 14 months of use the compressor went out. Let me repeat that AFTER 14 MONTHS! After several phone calls to the store, the customer info center the Lowe’s Extended Protection number. No one I spoke with could give us the same answers to any of our questions. It took weeks to get a service rep to even look at it and when he finally arrives and determined the compressor was bad he had no replacement with him. Had to be ordered which took awhile to arrive, a few more weeks before they could come back to install the new one. Only after cancelling and having to reschedule that appointment in which I had to miss work to be available to let him in to service the refrigerator. A loaner was offered at one point in time but I was told that could take a week to deliver not knowing that the replacement part would not be available on the first visit I declined. Was also told by one representative that we could just replace the refrigerator then only to be told by another that was not the case. I wrote down all the names of every one I spoke with and even had each one send me our dictated conversation in e-mail. They would not stand by their word. Never could I get a manager on the phone. Was always told that Customer Service does not have one. Most call centers operate off of a 3 tier system so I found it hard to believe that one. It took a total of 12 weeks to have the issue fixed Missed days at work, food loss, all the phone calls and time spent talking on the phone and getting no real answers. Was told at one point we could use a local repair man and the Extended Protection Plan that we purchased would cover the cost only to be told by someone else that it would NOT and if we chose that route it would void the EPP all together. Could had it fixed in 2 days as opposed to 12 weeks. The whole reason I am writing this review today is because after going through all of this our freezer isn’t defrosting correctly and therefore the ice maker isn’t working, the food in the freezer is barely frozen. The temp is set on minus 4 but the thermometer has placed on the inside barely reads 32 degrees. Here we go again!!!! So disheartening to spend so much money that you work so hard for on a product and to be so disappointed by it and the customer service that you have to deal with. My nightmare is about a $2000 refrigerator and about $10,000 worth of aggravation. I have a refrigerator that is eight months old and it started having a problem. We called LG and they sent somebody out here. It turns out, the compressor died and then, they fixed it. Roughly after a month, it started to buzz loud enough that if we were trying to watch TV or talking on the phone, we couldnt hear it too well. Plus, if we walked anywhere in the house, we would hear the refrigerator buzz. It was fairly loud. We lived with the buzzing for about two weeks and its a little bit like the Chinese water torture because it was very annoying but we didnt know what to do. When I called, the rep told me that if a repair guy comes to the house and he doesnt hear the buzzing, I was gonna get charged. But its not making the noise all the time. It goes to a certain cycle. The whole refrigerator resonated with the vibration of it and gets a vibration out of the fridge from the motor. So now, were in a quandary. I told the rep I didnt want to spend another $100 to have somebody come here and when hes here, its working okay and then we have to pay him. And then, it goes back to being bad again. I kept making phone calls and I figured they were in the Philippines and the reps dont speak English very well. It was very frustrating. I call and say, I have a blue horse, and they say, What color of the horse? They listen but they dont really hear me.After about 10 calls of getting nowhere with them, I got a woman over there who transferred me back to an escalation department in the United States. Also, I happened to record the sound on my phone that day and the rep heard it. She said it was the compressor. She authorized a repair person to come to the house without charging us. The repair guy came with the supervisor and they fixed that. Then, we thought we were fine but the day after the repairmen came, the refrigerator started not working well. The freezer was like 10 to 20 degrees. 24 hours is the period of time I have to give the fridge to adjust but everything is high now. Also, in the period of time they came back, I had it set for minus 6 and 33 but I get to read 0 and 40. Even at the coldest setting, it was barely acceptable within the normal range. The fluctuations were bad. I called the repair person on Friday and told them the fix wasnt working right. He told me it was just my thermometers. But I have two thermometers and theyre calibrated. I called them Monday morning and we still had the problem. I gave it the ice cream test and my ice cream melted. So I left the repairman a message but he never got back to me. Finally, I talked to Famous Tate and the regional manager instigated the callback to LG to come service the fridge. We then had an appointment on Thursday. But then, that time, it started getting cold again. I even called the repair person that Thursday and told him about it. But anyway, he came and took it apart. He said there was a leak in the evaporator. When he did the compressor, he put a dye in and when he came back, he could see that that was the problem. Hes coming back Tuesday to do the evaporator replacement. Meanwhile, the freezer is somewhat normal but the fridge part reads 40 degrees. I have it set very cold. The repairman is telling me the evaporator is bad but it doesnt jive. Also, that buzz is back but not as bad. If I push in on the doors, it stops. I can hear the motor going but that zzzz! that Im hearing is vibrating. Now, we have a refrigerator that doesnt work right and one that is making noise. Thats where were at and were very frustrated. Also, dealing with people overseas was horrific and not fun. They have something called Smart Diagnosis where I can go to the product, hold my phone up and it goes, Beep and they can get a readout of everything going on in my refrigerator, the temperature and how many times I opened the door. I wanted to get that printout from them so I could show the repair guy but I was told they were not allowed to do that. On one hand, Im unhappy about my experience with LG but they did come here to try to fix it so thats good. But this is an expensive refrigerator. If I could pay money, even if I took a hit on the refrigerator and get rid of it, I would. The product is pretty unreliable and the scary thing about this is because weve had the fluctuation in temperatures, we could eat the food and could get very sick.

Our LG refrigerator is only 18 months old and has broken down three times. The first time, LG repaired within the first year. Second time occurred three weeks ago. The warranty company contracted a local appliance repair company to come out. They came out and diagnosed the issue, then said they needed to order a new compressor and should take three to five days. On day three, I call the company to find out status of compressor. They indicate it had not yet arrived. I call every day after that for another week and could not get anyone to answer the phone. My wife and I are both professionals and do not have time to deal with a fridge company. On day eleven or so, I file a complaint on Better Business Bureau website. Less than twenty minutes later, I get a call. Company comes out to install the new compressor a day later. Repair guy says it is fixed and leaves. Later that day, I again noticed the fridge was not working. Fridge is still broken!!! Now another lost work day and more time on the phone and internet wasting my time dealing with a terrible LG Product! There has to be legal recourse with so many complaints. I bet the majority of us have the same model. LG needs to be held accountable for selling a $2500 piece of junk!

He said that the main bearing has gone out. He told me to get a Whirlpool next time. I asked him if he has seen problems with the LG washers and he said yeah, they arent lasting as long as they should. After using LG washer WM4270HWA several months, the ink writing is coming off from the washers front panel and front panel buttons. Please look at the attached picture. The panel was not cleaned using any cleaners. The only explanation is there can be some detergent residue on the fingers after loading the detergent (coming from the detergent bottle or cup). It will dissolve the ink. This is the design problem since it has to be assumed that you are dealing with detergent and LG could cover the front panel writing with transparent plastic or film as they actually do on Power and Start/Pause buttons, proving that they are fully aware of the problem. They could use other inks or just glue the stickers that can be replaced later. Unfortunately, they didnt think much about it and went with the cheapest solution, and this is not the cheapest washer model. Finally, they refused to replace the panel saying it is a cosmetic damage. However when all letters will be gone how to select the washing options? It will be a functional issue. Having extended warranty is not helping either, Home Depot, where the washer was bought, is saying the same. One of their suggestions is to take a marker and write on the panel. Ridiculous nonsense. Be aware.

I bought the refrigerator July 2016 plus a 5 year warranty. The first year the water flow from the in-door water was very slow. I had to call for service and they fixed it. Now July of 2019 (3 years) the whole refrigerator stopped working. Customer service is a joke. Ive called customer service three times, speaking to three different reps. The first one walked me through a reset and literally said that she guaranteed me that would fix it. She said check in eight hours. I did and it was not working. This was Friday and they are closed for the weekend. I spoke to another rep the first of the next week and he said that it would take until the following Monday for a tech to look at it to diagnose. That will be the ninth day without a refrigerator and freezer. He told me to prepare to be without a refrigerator for another two weeks after the tech makes the diagnosis and orders the parts. That will make 23 days from the time I reported. I spoke to a third rep to find out how to get reimbursed for the loss of $1500 in food. She said she could only authorize a $100 reimbursement. I recently looked at the current reviews and realized everyone is experiencing this same problem. I will never buy an LG product again.

I have noticed all along that the clothes have this odor to them and then it transfers to the dryer but I kept doing the cleaning cycle and it worked for about a week then back to that smell. I tried every HE detergent I could find but the same results. But today was a whole new problem. I put the laundry in and went about doing my cleaning. I went down to the laundry room to change the clothes into the dryer and there was a mess on the floor; it was glass. I thought maybe a light broke but this was thick clear glass. I could not believe what I saw. The glass front of the washer burst into pieces and I had chunks of glass everywhere. The strange thing is that the washer had finished its cycle and the clothes were all done so this must have happened after the clothes finished. There was not a drop of water anywhere. I am still in shock that this happened but with LG anything can happen. I am told I will have to pay for a service man plus parts and LG will not give me any answers. They told me to call Sears, the place where I purchased it, and go through them. Sears gave me the runaround also. They told me that I would have to pay $75 just for a person to come out to look at it and then it could cost up to $350 depending on the cause. The whole door may have to be replaced and they have to try to find the cause which it sounds like they dont have a clue. So the washer is sitting in the laundry room and I am out looking for a new washer. I do not trust this washer at all after the explosion. I am writing my Attorney General and letting him know about this and many other things about LG products. I also own an LG gas stove. It is almost two years old and I have had LG people replacing the glass window. This has been ongoing since I bought the stove. There is a leak in the glass oven door and it just keeps fogging up and food particles get in between the glass door and oven door. What a piece of junk that cost me $1100. LG refuses to do anything about it so my husband and I keep taking the glass off and cleaning it and it is not an easy thing to do. I will never buy another LG product and I will tell everyone I know not to buy LG. They sent one guy over and he put the glass back wrong. All I can say is that LG is getting a bad reputation and if they dont get it right, then they will soon be out of business. I just finished reading 800 reviews of LG ovens and they were not good at all; most of them real bad. What is wrong with the LG company? Are they that stupid not to see what people are saying about their product? I will try to find a new washer made in the good old USA.
