LG Range common faults
I remodeled my kitchen at the end of 2015 and bought brand new LG appliances: a fridge, a range and a dishwasher. The fridge broke twice since. The dishwasher broke once. The range has not broken yet BUT all the markings on the knobs came off and it is very hard to know at what temperature we are setting the burners. This has been for me an awful experience. I will never buy LG again.
I have been reading the many complaints of the LG gas oven switch complaints. We have been having the same problems. (1) Clothing catching on switches and accidentally lighting the burners. (2) Switches turning on but not far enough to ignite the gas supply leaving raw gas to disperse into the kitchen. I wrote to LG about this problem and the answer indicated that they had heard about the problem but it was not dangerous enough to issue a recall. Maybe they need a house fire or a gassing death before they are compelled to take real action. By the way the answer I received had many grammatical errors in the reply so I assume it may be written by some low paid clerk with no real knowledge of the danger with this design problem. No more LG products for this household.
We bought the LDE4413ST and it was installed late December 2020. Since then, we’ve had 2 fires on the cooktop. The knobs on the front are way too sensitive and turn to high with just brushing against them. A pizza box that was sitting on the stove burned up when a knob was inadvertently touched and today a microwave cover was burned up when it was placed on the stove after retrieving food from the microwave and a knob was brushed as we opened the microwave. I am removing the knobs and have told everyone not to place anything on the stove. One of the burners is now ruined from the melted plastic.
LRE 3203 ST stainless steel electric range smooth top convection - This electric range is a Junk. Dont ever buy any LG appliances, same issue with the LG refrigerator and dishwasher. In 2012 just before Thanksgiving I purchased new appliances because I wanted all stainless steel thinking that these high-end all computerized LG appliances will serve me and my family at least for 5 years. Unfortunately I went with LG!! Big mistake!!!!! The worst appliances you could ever buy!!!The stove basically started having issues after 2 years. The burners stopped working, replaced the control panel, didnt work!!! We replaced the cooking element, didnt work. Called the customer service, they told me that this stove is too old and basically I have to pay for a technician to come out who is going to tell me what is wrong with the stove and pay for everything! Junk, junk, junk!!! Thank you LG, Thanksgiving is just around the corner. My 3rd cooking element stopped heating Tuesday this week. I have to buy a new stove now. LG customer service is not helpful, dont even bother to call!
After three deliveries of same electric LG double convection oven exactly a year ago, finally had one that worked. We have had no problems with the heat in ovens but the black glasstop has spots beneath surface and burners come on by barely brushing against knobs. There should be a recall as weve come close to burning things on top of stove by accidental touch of knobs.
LG over the stove microwave caught fire while not even in use. Flames coming out of vents across the top of unit. l have reached out to LG numerous times. Spoke to liability agent once and was virtually dismissed because I had hired a claims adjuster which had zero to do with LG. All I wanted from LG was my homeowners insurance deductible. Now that my ins. claim is settled, I have called LG, was given liability agent Tim **s direct line by a supervisor. I have left him two messages; but he has not returned my calls. I will update this review soon.
I purchased an LG French door refrigerator and an LG over the stove microwave a few years ago. I think 6 years ago. I had been very pleased until a year ago when the ice maker quit working and then shortly after the door handle on the microwave broke. Both parts can be purchased to repair, but seriously? They were not inexpensive appliances, yet they were not made to last longer than 5 years without having to buy replacement parts? Im sick and tired of stuff that doesnt last anymore. My mother used the same toaster for 50 years!!! Wheres the integrity and pride in a job well done? No, I wont purchase LG again.
LG electric Range LSB5611SW/SB/SS - I received a safety advisory note from Sears that their burners on certain ranges were failing to turn off after being switched off. Sears was very quick in responding by sending a technician to replace a board. The technician turned on a burner to test that it was working. Later, I started to cook, turned on a burner to mark 5. Loud clicking noises were heard, not once but intermittently. It only stopped when I turned the knob to the highest point or turned it off. Upon my complaint to Sears, another contracted technician (Jim) was sent. He had to call an LG technician for instructions. He checked that the board was connected per LGs instructions, and upon turning on the stove again, he agreed with me that the clicks were loud. Jim said that he would report the matter to Sears. After not having heard back from Sears, I called them again. Apparently, there was no report about any clicking noises from the contractor. Each time, I get to speak to a different agent either in Montreal or Belleville. I then called Jim who assured me that he spoke with Sears in the Burnaby outlet. I then decided to call LG. I spoke with a Josh who asked me when the contracted technician replaced the monitor. I said in January. He said that there was a directive that went out that those units that were attended to prior to February 2013 had to be rewired. That meant that the monitor on my range was wired incorrectly and Sears should have sent a technician to correct the error. On March 18, 2013, I spoke with a Claude from LG who told me that there was no report of my conversation with Josh, and that he would get Josh to return my call. On April 5, 2013, I spoke with Tia explaining the whole story again. I asked to speak with a manager but he was in a meeting. In the meantime, I have purchased a two-burner stove. The clicking noises are annoying. The kicker is that other households have complained about the clicking noises. What is LG and Sears going to do about it? Can they correct the problem? Or is this problem insurmountable? It is 4 months since I received the notice from Sears.
I have model LSSE3026ST (LG Studio electric range). As others have reported, the stovetop turns on with the slightest bump of a knob. We have had dinner guests help in the kitchen and accidentally turn on the stove. My husband and I have accidentally turned the stove on numerous times as we reach into a cabinet or the microwave. I have to check the stove each time I leave the house because I am terrified that somebody in our house may have accidentally bumped a knob and turned the stove on. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE!!! LG refuses to acknowledge or correct the problem, despite numerous consumers having the same exact complaint. They have denied my request for a fix. I check recalls every week just expecting to find this range on the list, but not yet. I hope it doesn’t take a serious incident for this to be addressed.
LG smooth cooktop is kind of hard to keep clean looking. The mist self clean oven doesnt really work as it should. You arent supposed to use harsh chemicals in the oven. Just just with water and turn in the oven clean mode. It doesnt do anything much to remove baked on food. Other than that, the quick boil mode is great and it heats pretty evenly.
Takes all day to do laundry. Goes off balance all the time no matter how I separate and arrange things. This summer will look for another brand.
I just purchased a new LG dishwasher. It stopped working within 30 days of operation. When trying to arrange for warranty repair, the techs are not showing up to fix it. The claim is that parts are on order, and when I call for a status update, customer service puts me on hold until the line auto disconnects. Avoid purchase of this brand.
My wife and I purchased a 26cf refrig. Water dispenser does not work properly. Repair service wants $157.00 to come out, order parts and $157.00 to come out and install. We purchased new elec. range and they did come out and replace glass in oven door. We purchased a microwave and the bottom of handle broke loose after warranty (have superglued in place). We purchased a dishwasher and the rollers on the upper rack keep breaking loose. This was all done within the last 5 years and only warranty was oven door glass. We are now in the process of replacing all appliances with a different brand and never to buy another LG product.
The LG over-the-range microwave MODEL LMV1683ST caught on fire. This appliance was manufactured in December 2014 and I purchased it at Lowes in March 2015. On July 3, 2015 the unit started sparking and smoking and then flames started shooting inside the unit. 4 months old and LG thinks it might be repairable. I dont want that unit in my house. I have spend several hours cumulatively on the phone trying to get a new unit. The unit only cost $200, yet they have sent repair people to my home. The cost of the repair time has exceeded the cost of goods and out of frustration, LG has created a consumer that will never buy another LG product. The poor Customer Service Reps must hate their job. They are not empowered to really help the consumer. It seems to me that LG has a lot to learn about customer satisfaction.
Knobs on stove disintegrate & become nonfunctional & break. This is my 3rd replacement of knobs, & I will need a 4th replacement soon. The first 2 were covered by extended warranty. The knobs when bumped, can easily, cause gas to escape. The can happen with the lightest bump, & is generally unnoticed, by individual, until the strong gas smell is evident! My communications over the years has been extremely frustrating, & unacceptable. I was told that knobs are ornamental by one employee. Another claimed it was my misuse because I left the oven door open. Once someone told me I would get replace the knobs free within a week. They never came! I finally bought new ones for about $275. The plastic overlay on what appears to be a metal knob is beginning to crackle. That means the cylinder that holds the knob on is soon to break. I bought the latest replacement knobs less than 6 months ago. It seems to me there is a sufficient case for a class action suit against LG.
I bought LG range LSE4611 costing me over $1400 dollars. Not even done paying payments on it. It melted away like plastic on fire. We had a pot of water on it. Somehow the heating element malfunctioned and melt the glass top. It seems as this range has no safeties. Don’t waste your money on this brand.
I purchased a new LG Range 1/12/20 and about 60 days later I was cooking some fries in the oven. I turned it up to 400 and as I was walking away the inside glass shattered into a million pieces. After cleaning up the mess I contacted Best Buy who put me in touch with LG. My complaint is not necessarily against the range but the customer service at LG. After being on hold for 1 hour and 10 minutes I was finally able to give her the information needed to get a service representative to contact me for service. She said I would be hearing from them soon to get an appointment set up. After not hearing from them in over a week I started calling again just to be on hold for over an hour the run around again. If LG is out there please contact me. I would like to use my oven again.
I purchased an LG stove and have already been through 2 sets of knobs that continuously break. I see many others on this site have the same problem. This is a defect of a part that used shoddy materials or bad design.
Got the LG Range 9 years ago. Recently the range can not turn off. I check with LG, and they said it is in the Recall List, and it is a known issue. They sent the technician and the technician said the part is out of stock. And he will report the issue back to LG. A lady for customer service called me next two days, and she hardly answer my question. Have to escalate to her supervisor and the whole conversion with the supervisor is total disaster. Basically he said, I am the boss, you have to done whatever I told you. Totally not happy with the conversation. And he ask for the receipt, hey, the range was purchased 9 years ago, not sure how many people keep receipt for 9 years, not even the tax receipt. And finally, he said he will order the part, but it will be available on next year Jan. Then I ask for call me back if the part is available, and he said, thats my business, I have to call back myself to check. Wow, how great LG service!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then I asked to talk to his manager, and he said, I am the boss, and I am the last person you can talk to. Can anyone tell me what else I can do?
I purchased an LG microhood and almost immediately, the stove lights melted and burned through the plastic covers. Unfortunately, I didnt report it until after the year warranty was up, but when I did report it, they still wouldnt stand behind their product. I googled the problem and others were having the same problem. Any other appliance manufacturer would have stood behind their product, but not LG. The guy in customer service said I was the only one with this problem. I told him to do an internet search on this and see all the others with the same problem and he laughed at me and hung up. Yes, he actually laughed and hung up saying there was nothing they could do. This is clearly a manufacturers defect, plain and simple. Also, the plastic clip holding the filter in broke while I was changing a filter. Also, I will have to replace the light bulb covers every time they melt through as the plastic is burnt and cracked and can fall into food. The light bulbs blow quickly. Buying this product has been a disaster. I will never buy another LG product again, just based on the way I was treated by customer service alone.
LG LMV1680ST - We bought this range hood/microwave 1 1/2 to 2 yrs ago from (I believe) Home Depot and didnt have any extended warranty, so we arent looking to have it replaced or fixed. Yes its VERY loud, its cheaply constructed of plastic and like so many others, the handle broke and the frame cracked on the top corner. We are going to get a normal range hood and bring my Panasonic Inverter (7 yrs old counter top version) up from down stairs. We just want to inform the consumer of a serious defect. Last night, my daughter made popcorn and when it was done, she pulled it out closed the door and walked away. I had the useless fan running because I was baking so she didnt hear that, when she closed the door, it was still running. Probably 10 to 15 mins later, my niece noticed flashes of light coming from the inside and smoke from underneath. My husband had to run downstairs and flip the circuit to turn it off. Not a good thing at all, when your daughter opens the door and it continues to run and doesnt trip the circuit on its own. Ive included pics but in case they dont post, the glass turntable actually started to melt, there are burn marks on the bottom, inside the microwave and the plastic turntable wheels are melted to the bottom. On the outside underneath the micro, there are also god awful burns. Its frightening to think of what would have happened if it started on its own and no one was home. I havent read all the reviews on your site, but there are many others that have had this problem and reported on other review sites. I just need to get the word out about this very DANGEROUS flaw.
Earlier this year we purchased a new LG Washer (WM4270HWA) and Dryer (DLEX4270W) through The Home Depot. The washer was delivered and installed in our home on Feb 21st, 2015. The dryer arrived on March 2nd. Both machines operated beautifully for about 8 months. They are MUCH quieter than our previous 20+ year old machines, have a nice feature set, and save water. However, in early October, the washing machine developed a leak and dumped a LOT of water. Fortunately, we had taken the precaution of placing the washer in an overflow pan, so there was no apparent damage to our home. I initially contacted LG warranty support to have the washing machine fixed on October 6th, 2015. On the good side, I found their representatives to be quick to answer my phone calls and they were always courteous. On the bad side, they are completely ineffective and incompetent. Ultimately, I fixed it myself.6 October 2015, 9:45 AM EST, I called LG Warranty support to report the issue. I spoke with the representative and provided the washing machine serial number. The representative verified that the washer was under warranty and stated that I would receive a call in 2-3 days from the service scheduling team to schedule a service appointment. I requested and received an incident reference number. 8 October 2015, 11:10 AM EST, I contacted LG to check status on the service appointment. The representative indicated that scheduling team may take 3-5 business days to schedule an appointment.13 October 2015, 11:30 AM EST, I contacted LG to determine why I had not yet been contacted to schedule an appointment. I was informed that the Service Scheduling Team had started the search for a local service provider on the 8th and that the search should be resolved on the 15th. I was told that if they could not schedule an appointment, they would arrange to replace the machine. The representative stated that the time to resolve the service request was unknown. The representative also indicated that the request had been escalated to the top-tier scheduling department, but that it was not possible to check status or contact anyone in that department directly.15 October 2015, 5:55 PM EST, I received a phone call from an LG service representative. They had made arrangements to have the washer serviced and the service representative Jeff (last name & phone number omitted) would contact me shortly with appointment details. I called Jeff directly to confirm and received a message that his voicemail was full. I left a callback number. 16 October 2015, 8:10 AM EST Called Jeff again. The voicemail was still full. Left my callback number again. 1:40 PM EST Called Jeff again and left a voicemail. Jeff eventually returned the call and we scheduled a service call on 19 October.19 October 2015, Jeff arrived at the house and spent about an hour on the phone with LG. He did not disassemble the washing machine nor inspect it in any significant way. He did order a replacement pump. I was informed that the part should arrive later that week. 27 October 9:25 AM EST, I called and left a message for Jeff to find out status and set up a time for the repair. I requested that he call me back as soon as possible with this information. 2 November 2015, 8:00 AM EST, I called and left a message with Jeff to get status and schedule the repair. I requested a call back that day with status.6 November 2015, 7:20 PM EST, I called LG Customer Service to find out what was going on. The service representative was aware that a technician had been assigned and parts ordered. I explained that the technician had visited, ordered a part, and had been unresponsive for 3 weeks. She attempted to contact the technician while I was on hold and could not (no surprise, it was after business hours on a Friday). The service representative indicated she would contact the technician on Monday and call me with status. 7 November 2015, 1:00 PM EST - After a month with NO effective action and washing laundry at the neighbors house, I removed the top of the machine, ran a 15-minute cycle, and identified the source of the leak as a disconnected vent hose in the left rear corner of the washer. I Googled for service diagrams and found it was the hose at the top of part F430 in the diagram. 2:20 PM EST I called LG, explained the situation with the technician and my lack of satisfaction. I requested a service manual be sent immediately. The representative took my email address and claimed the service manual had been sent.3:00 PM EST I contacted LG via live chat and inquire whether the service manual had been sent. The representative on the chat stated he could not access the manual.3:25 PM EST, I called LG again. The representative read my email address back and it had been recorded incorrectly (though we had verified it on the phone the first time!). I verified the correct email address again and she resent the manual. 3:45 PM EST, I did a web search on LG drain vent hose routing and found a diagram showing the correct connection to a fitting on top of the washer drum. I reconnected the hose and since then the washer has been fine. The LG representative that I spoke with on 6 November did eventually call back and offered to start the scheduling process all over again with another service technician. I told her that their service was abominable and that I had repaired the issue myself. We were done. The service manual never arrived.I live in a major metropolitan area with over 1 million people within the county boundary. I am amazed that LG couldnt find a competent technician in the area that could provide prompt service. The inability to email a simple service manual after 3 attempts is equally ridiculous. I will say that most parts appear for the washer appear to be reasonably priced. In the course of my internet research, I found that most design flaws noted in earlier versions of the LG washer had been corrected in my washer. The fact that the hose popped off the fitting may have been a random occurrence. The machine has performed well since. Some closing thoughts: (1) Dont ever install ANY washing machine without an overflow pan that has been connected into your houses drain system, and (2) If you are considering the purchase of an LG appliance or other product, based on my experience, I wouldnt expect LG to honor their product warranties.
I received delivery from Home Depot of my LSG4513ST range on December 16, 2020. I immediately began smelling gas when the range was on, but was told that this was normal and that the oven had to run for a while and it would dissipate. The gas smell did not dissipate and was and is detectable by my gas meter. Home Depot was not able to get anyone out to my home to check on the range until 12/31. On 12/31, the plumber/gas fitter came to my home, inspected the range, and said that it was defective and would need to be replaced. I was told that I had to contact LG myself which I did. It took LG until 1/4 to send their representative who is ASAP solutions. ASAP solutions inspected the range and said that it needed a new igniter and manifold. Evidently, there was what they call a “bulletin” on this new $2200 range. In other words, it had defective parts that were known to be defective when I purchased the range which I waited multiple weeks for as it was on back order. In fact, the range wasn’t even manufactured until October of 2020 and was shipped from Korea. Instead of replacing the range, the LG representative from ASAP solutions said they were going to replace the igniter and manifold. I was told that it would be at most a week to order the parts and repair the range. That week has now come and gone and The LG subcontractor is not even answering my emails as to when this will be resolved. I would just like to add that I understand that we are in the middle of a pandemic and that it is not business as usual. I have had to have numerous people come to my home at the expense of my own family’s health to go through this process to still not have a working range. I have not had a working range since December 16, 2020 prior to the delivery of this very expensive range that has never worked, and by the way, I purchased an extended warranty. If I may, I would also like to add that my family has had to go without a range during the holidays and there seems to be no resolution in sight.
Control knobs will turn on with a slight bump and if you don’t notice it fills your home with gas. I have also reached into the cabinet above and bumped the knob causing it to ignite and almost catching my clothes on fire. This range should be fixed or replaced! Very very dangerous!!!
The LG Model LDE4413ST could have burned down my house! The knobs are way too sensitive, so whenever anyone brushes past them, even slightly and without the knob pushed in, the stove top turns on and you wouldnt even notice until its too late. Very dangerous. Someone else in my family has a gas LG range and this happens to them all the time as well, so I wouldnt be surprised if a lot of other people have this issue. We put in a complaint with LG with pictures of the damage. Tim, whom my husband spoke with on the phone, told us This wasnt your fault. Well take care of it. Now, LG is telling us our home insurance has to cover it and they wont do anything about it. I have reported LG to saferproducts.gov and Im looking into filing a class action suit.
LG double oven - Both ovens burn everything in the back of the oven while the front of the baking toward the door is still white. This also happens on convection. I have had it fixed 4 times. Once by the LG rep and 3 times by the Geek squad. Baking is awful. Nothing comes out right.
Ever since we bought our LG Model LFX31925ST in Nov. 2012, the ice maker is leaking on. You cant get ice from dispenser because all ice are frozen together and now the water is leaking from under the refrigerator and its not because of the water supply. Both ends of the water supply are dry. Now lets talk about the clothes dryer. We have the tech out 4 times because the tub was bent and they would not replace it until the manager came out and now its taking 2-3 hours to dry a normal load of clothes. We have a new LG gas stove and dishwasher still in the box new but were thinking on selling them and getting another brand because the LG line of appliance is not worth the money you spend for them and the quality is not there.
LG LRE6383ST Stove - Do not buy this unit. The oven part has a major design flaw and does not cook food properly. Anything that gets baked is cooked up top and raw in the middle. LG has sent out 2 technicians and both times could not find a problem with the unit but acknowledged that it was not cooking food properly. Obviously a design flaw. We have wasted hundreds of dollars on food. After 3 months of getting the run around including escalating the case at LG and making numerous calls we just decided to give up and purchase something else. This will be our last LG product purchase ever. Horrible customer service. Buyer beware.
Women want a dependable, easy to use, easy to clean stove. My LG stove is the absolute best! I drink a lot of tea and my tea kettle heats up nicely and the HS light is very convenient so you know not where to touch. And the oven is a dream! Cooks nicely and absolutely love the timer to let you know when your food is done. This is a hands down number one in my book!
Have this stove for less than 5 years. From one day to the next the oven just stopped working. Error code F9 displayed on oven control panel and when I checked manual it states the regulator valve is closed. How can this shut off without it being touched? We unplugged the stove for an hour and still the oven doesn’t heat. Also, the burner control knobs just turn on their own by the slightest bump. Few times smelled gas and it was because the knobs had turn unknowingly. This is very dangerous. The grates are even changing colors. It seems the warranty is no longer in effect. Now what?
We have used the Easy Clean option on the oven, all it is - is a timer. You spray water in the oven, hit the option, wait 20 minutes, then clean the water up. The LG directions tell you to use 10 oz of water, spray on spot, and wait. Then it is clean. Nothing happens.
We have a LG French Door Model LFCS30726S, 2 1/2 years old. Stopped cooling. Called our usual service technician. They came out. Said the compressor was not working. Since the compressor is on a 10 year warranty called LG. The first person I talked to was so very helpful. He managed to set an appointment for 2 days, between 12-5. On that day we were at home entire day waiting. At 4:45 pm I call LG again. The man checks on status. Says the service technician was at his 2nd to last call for the day and would still be there. NO SHOW. Comfort Care Appliance did not call. Just did not come. I call LG again the next morning. They said that the call was rejected and I would have to wait 3-5 business days for another service company to accept the warranty call. My call was then escalated to another level, now the next person at this escalated level was NOT helpful. I got angry at this point. And was hung up on.I called back and was then told that Comfort Care had rejected my service call at 11pm the previous evening, that was 6 hours after they were suppose to be there, and there was nothing I could do but wait for 3-5 days for another warranty company to take my call. We paid over $2,000 for this refrigerator and it was only good for 2 1.2 years???? I must say that the service people who first answer the phones did all they could to take care of me, the person I was escalated to was NOT. I could live without a washer, dryer, stove, microwave, dishwasher, but when your refrigerator goes, you are reduced to coolers and neighbors generosity. It starts to get old after more than a couple of days.
Ive cleaned houses for 14 years and use a lot of different appliances, vacuums, cleaning equipment and supplies. This particular microwave has broken twice. I spray the outside very lightly to clean the stainless and wipe down to a shine. The moisture somehow gets into the panel on the bottom of the oven and it stops working. So frustrating! Not a good design. LG MODEL NUMBER LMVM2055ST.
Why cant I buy parts for my range in Canada? A simple fix for a new igniter and I cant purchase one anywhere. Will not buy LG products ever. Are parts compatible with other brands?
I reported a range/oven from the time the oven was turned on. The staff at LG that takes complaints and concerns told me to send pictures of the warped oven. However, several attempts to get some type of follow through and repair was unsuccessful. The oven condition showed that it had been defective when the range was manufactured. Gus from LG did not return phone calls after the pictures were sent by mail and then faxed. To this date, I have not heard anything back from the company. This incident will determine what purchases I make in the future.
WT5001CW - We are still having significant problems with our LG washer. The latest issue involves the troubled spin cycle particularly when washing items in the Towel Setting. While trying to wash just 3 bath towels along with several smaller items, our washer will become unbalanced during the spin cycle subsequently causing our machine to stop operating! After having to stop, adjust, and rearrange items, the machine will resume the spin cycle only to have the washer once again cease normal operation requiring me to repeat the process of pulling out these wet items. As I indicated previously, I believe this chronic balance problem is due to a defective LG software issue rendering our washer unsuitable for the ordinary purpose for which it was sold to us. This LG washer is defective. We cannot operate the washer for which it was intended.
Updated on 07/29/2020: LG response with a classic, there are not the way they treat a customer. The same for everyone because I read other reviews (too late for me, I already bought the oven). The reviews were mixed, but not good enough. Original Review: I bought it on March 2018, and is not working. No heat. I call customer service saying I think is the magnetron. It has a 10 year warranty. They say I need to call an LG technician. I didn’t buy the extended warranty because it was too expensive. So, I need to pay the labor. So it not worth it. I will not buying an LG microwave again.
I bought this oven for my husband in December. In July he cooked a pork roast in the lower oven. The area between the 2 panes of glass filled with grease and condensation. We looked at the top of the door and it is designed without any type of seal to prevent this from happening. I called the company and they said this is a maintenance issue and not covered. There is absolutely no way to clean this awful looking door so now Im left with a new oven that looks 30 years old and dirty. This is a terrible design flaw and no business should carry LG if they dont stand behind their products. The oven looked very pretty in the store with its blue interior, but, unless you never plan to cook I would not recommend even considering this oven. Wish I would have read these reviews before my purchase, thats what I get for impulse buying. Ill now be back to Best Buy shopping for a new oven and giving this one to the scrappers.
Knobs replaced every 3 years @ my expense. In other words Im constantly paying out of pocket. Had I known that the knobs are constructed of heavy foil I would have NEVER bought this range. This is a constant payout for me. This product is a total rip off.
Updated on 05/02/2021: This is my second review on the same LG electric range. This range has not worked correctly since the first month or two after we bought it! The temperature is NEVER at the correct temperature, the fan never stops blowing even though it’s in regular bake so that every baked good comes out too dark, and the cleaning feature has NEVER worked correctly. I have contacted LG and after them blowing me off the first time, I came here to warn people away from this garbage LG range. LG finally, after contacting me because of my first review, had two different repair companies come to my house. The first company had made seven appointments to attempt to see what was wrong. Four different repairmen came and each one gave us a different story and ordered the wrong parts, resulting in them having to order something else and come at a later date. The second company sent one repairman and he replaced some parts also and it seemed ok, but it’s still all over the place temperature wise and the fan never goes off, still!I do not use the convection setting, the fan should not be burning the tops of my food. This supposed attempt at LG repairing their defective appliance has been going on (this time) since November 2020. As soon as I can afford it, I’m buying a new range and rolling this one down the driveway for the garbage man. People, stay away from LG’s electric ranges, especially this model.Original Review: My LG electric range is only about 18 months old and I really think I wasted my money. I’ve cleaned it a few times a year and all it does is blow all of the dirty stuff onto the door and I always have a layer of black burnt on mess that I have to soak off. The gasket around the door is severely stained from the black gunk that just gets baked on as the oven cleans. I called LG about a year ago and they argued with me and told me to clean the gasket myself when the owner’s manual states not to. When I told the person which page to go to in the manual, they put me on hold forever. When they came back they said they would send out a new gasket that I could install myself. The gasket has yet to arrive, and the promised call-back from a supervisor never happened.Today, I cleaned my oven again and, yep, I’m soaking of the black layer with baking soda and water, the gasket is even more stained now. The oven fan seems to run non-stop, as if it is on convection not regular bake. I’m so disappointed and embarrassed that I proudly announced that I had just bought an LG range in the beginning. How can companies keep their business with such an inadequate level of customer service and defective products? I guess I’ll just be one of the crowd that I didn’t know existed until I searched for possible answers to this defective range’s issues. Never, never, never, again, LG! Keep your junk. My $1000 Whirlpool Gold could run laps around this piece of garbage, I wish I’d never replaced it.
My LG oven has required 2 repairs; the circuit board on warranty, and now the hidden baking element gave out one week before Christmas. I called LG and quickly connected with a representative. This was my experience: Four lengthy attempts for her to get the serial number etc... She continually reversed the numbers (Id say 486 and shed repeat 864 sort of thing). And these numbers are located in the most awkward location for a person to read!!!I explained the preheat could not reach its goal, and she tried to explain to me how important preheating was to ensure best baking results! I told her my baking skills were not the issue, it was the oven could not heat up!!! She told me to ensure the date on the front panel was correct. I told her my panel did not include the date. She had the manufacture date wrong... I decided to call a local repair service, they arrived the same day, and the repair will be done before Christmas, at half the cost, done by a reasonable capable service person. In summary, whenever I need a new oven, it will be a Samsung.
To all of you that just brought your beautiful new LG refrigerators you must not have done any research. Because there thousands of dissatisfied customers with faulty refrigerators, compressors complaints and and on and on. I bought mine brand spanking new with French door and dual ice makers. Beautiful. It stopped working almost up to the date of when I bought it and no more warranty on the unit but there was one on the compressor but only for replacement. This has been one of the worst experiences of my life. If I had known this would happen I would have never bought this piece of junk. Not only can you not get through to anyone to fix it. You have to pay for someone to come out and diagnose the problem that you already know what the problem is. Then you have to pay for the repairmen (who is contracted) to come out and install the compressor which according to other loyal consumers may or may not work. But only if you can find one to come AND keep his appointment. After many tries I decided to give up and get a new one. But I will never ever in my life buy another LG product. I knew their phones were crap. Because I had to have mine replaced three times. I am an iPhone user now. But do your research anyone that reads this. My unit was bought in March 2013. And it went out in April 2019. I knew I couldn’t have been the only one so I read and found that all of the people that bought theirs after mine complained. If I had read all of those complaints I wouldn’t have had to buy another refrigerator six years later. Please stay way from LG. Even when you do call for assistance the people that you speak to are rude and condescending (only if you need help. But not if they are getting something from you. Then you may be treated with respect. So STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY. Go to the proven manufacturer our parents used. GE WHIRLPOOL OR KENMORE OR FRIGIDAIRE. Thank you.
Like thousands of other LG Refrigerator victims my new LG model LSXS26366S died. I had to throw out over $200.00 worth of fresh food, spent another $1000 on repairs. I called LG speaking to call centers overseas trained to kill you with kindness as they provide no help. Then had to pay a local company to look at it, the technicians said I hate to tell you youre screwed sir, a sealed system failure. Compressor. Then LG on the 4th day arranged a company that showed up in the 1970 tiny pickup truck, they do not accept credit cards cash only- yup sealed system failure that will be another $89.00 bucks. $1,100 to fix it. The Federal Trade Commission is allowing LG Electronics USA to continue to rip-off Americans. LG is aware of their defective compressors & systems. I was told they are back ordered in Korea, could be 2 months before parts become available. A Class Action Lawsuit must be filed to protect Honest Americans from this company. Furthermore - If your large retail chain store is selling LG appliances - YOU ARE RIPPING OFF Your customers.
We purchased LG microwave oven that failed approximately 4 months into the warranty period. The warranty reads that “LG will, at it’s option, will repair or replace the Product“. LG’s policy apparently is not to do either of these things for countertop microwaves. They refused to repair or replace the unit, but suggested that we purchase another unit. They did in fact refund the original price of the unit, but now the unit could only be purchased for $30.00 more. As the request of a customer service agent we submitted the new receipt indicating that a price adjustment would be given. Long story short, not only did we have to do the leg work and go out and find another unit, we have had to absorb the difference in the price. DO NOT BELIEVE THE WARRANTY! Had we known that we couldn’t trust the warranty and the customer service agent, we would have chosen another brand of microwave. Although we have purchased other LG appliances (TVs, dishwashers etc) we will not make that mistake again!
I have had 4 LG microwave ovens and always had the same problem with transformer overheating and smoke coming from unit which sets off the fire alarm. I think a recall should be done as I find this is a main fault which should have emergency recall before a fire is caused to homes.
Initially the LG double oven and 5 burner stove top looked amazing. It did just what we wanted it to do during the holidays. The super boiler burner is great. The double oven did everything we needed for the holiday dinners. The only problem is the burners turn on (Gas) with the least amount of pressure on the knobs. Other reviews have express the same danger and LG does not have a fix according to other reviews. I went to my local hardware store and bought springs that I cut to length and placed them behind the knobs to provide the need for more pressure to activate the ignition. Its a matter of time before clothing or other items get caught on fire. Especially with the Super Boiler burner.
My wife opened the d/w last evening to load dishes; a loud bang sounded, and she almost dropped the door. I pulled the d/w out today and found that the door assembly consists of a heavy-duty spring attached to a piece of Venetian blind cord which rides on a small plastic pulley. The cord had snapped (see photo). The next hour was spent arguing with a customer service representative and a supervisor because I refused to pay for a repairman to tell me what part I needed and charge me for the installation. I was finally given a phone number of a parts company from which I could order the cord portion of the assembly. In 2006, I bought a 4-appliance package .The stove and fridge were repaired for fire hazard issues within the first 6 years. LG products arent built to last.
DANGEROUS product with flimsy knobs that could start a fire. Died in only a couple of years after using and following maintenance instructions provided from LG. Rude customer service and Repair technicians. No help from extended warranty and no proof shown to us that backed their findings. Buyer beware if you have small children or pets, the bottom oven door easily opens and could be tripped or pulled down while on or off. Knobs, logos and Black Stainless Steel peeled, faded and discolored after the first few months (also denied to fix or replace because they claimed wear and tear.)My Experience. We purchased our dual oven from Best Buy a few years ago and instantly had problems. The stove would turn on just from barely bumping the nobs and melted anything close to it. (Like bringing in groceries and the bag and food sitting to close.) Then after a few months the black stainless started to peel off and the knobs started to turn a goldish color and the wording was gone. The LG logo fell off as well... After contacting Best Buy where we had a purchased a 5 year extended warranty they gave us the runaround about wear and tear.We bought this oven because we wanted a oven that we could easily clean. I am disabled and was the primary caregiver for my mother who was on a transplant list and was in and out of the hospital. I watched reviews and saw the options for self cleaning and easy clean. Which I had to have because I didnt have the mobility or strength to put hours into scrubbing a oven clean. My mother and I both take immuno suppression medications for our different health problems and keeping the kitchen clean and sanitized is extremely important....The cleaning features were downright worthless. I followed the cleaning instructions and still had to get down and scrub and clean the oven until my knees were bruised.Fast forward to a few weeks ago. I noticed when I would cook the stove top wasnt heating up near as fast as it used to and the oven was only half baking the food. (I would have to rotate the food because the front part of the oven wasnt evenly cooking the food.) About a week after I noticed the problems with the oven it died. Only thing working was the clock...I went into Best Buy to get my receipt reprinted with my warranty information and called and scheduled a repair request and someone came out and inspected the oven. The man from LG took the whole oven apart and very rudely told us they werent going to warranty the oven. When we asked why he started heading toward the door and said someone would be calling us in a minute. My mom asked him why he couldnt explain and show us the issue. He stopped because I think he was expecting the person from the warranty place to call us immediately and came back to the kitchen. He told us our oven was filthy and the fan inside the oven was seized up from all the grease and the motors were blown...We asked him how that could happen and he said its because we didnt follow the cleaning instructions and abused it.... He said grease and food got into the fans and couldnt show us how the food got to where he was saying the fans were located. He made us feel and look like slobs. I pulled out the bottle that came with the oven for cleaning and the items I used to clean and care for the oven and he said we didnt clean the fans.... Where does it say I have to disassemble the oven to get to the fans that are built into the roof of the top and bottom ovens? He said the range had food falling into it from the cracks.... There are no cracks on my stove top, the seals are still sealed and theres no way food would ever fall into it from the top....We spent $1700.00 for a oven that was supposed to be the best dual oven on the market, and would look brand new because it was smudge proof, easy to clean and would last forever. We have had nothing but problems and now we have $1700.00 sitting in our foyer because we have no clue what to do. We had to get a cheap oven from Rent a Center because we cant afford a replacement. We have been waiting to get a call back about the second opinion they were supposed to send out to look the oven over again. And they never showed or returned our calls.Worst experience Ive had with a brand and after talking to others about how dangerous the oven is because of the knobs and the poor quality of the fake stainless steel and the undisclosed cleaning instructions LGs technician said we didnt follow. I will never recommend another product from LG and will make sure everyone knows of how I was treated.
We enjoy LG's double range; we can bake a pizza on the top range and bake a turkey on the bottom (if we so wished) simultaneously. The alerts from the LG range are not annoying buzzards but are soothing melodies.
I have had my LG range for a year now. The oven consistently burns food in the back while the front is not even cooked. The convection feature does not seem to work correctly and only burns food quicker. While the oven takes a long time to preheat, it will cook foods about 5 minutes faster than the recipe calls for so you have to pay attention. I thought the easy clean feature was self cleaning, it is not! My oven is stained on the bottom despite wholehearted efforts to clean multiple times. One major safety concern is that while the oven is on, the metal front of the stove becomes extremely hot and can burn you if you lean against it while cooking on the stove top and the oven is on. The stove burners all cook differently at the same temperature. The left front never brings water to a boil and it takes forever for any of the other burners to bring water to a rolling boil. The top is also difficult to clean and not like my old glass top. And lastly, and irritating quirk is that the ranges timer requires only minutes but the LG range top microwave requires minutes and seconds. I have reversed this and burnt several things. I want my old Whirlpool range back! It was consistent and it worked. I will not buy an LG stove again.
I am SOOO disappointed with my LG experience. We have a refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, washer and dryer. We have had problems with ALL of them, but the worst with the fridge and oven. We even have trouble with our LG Tv and Blu-ray player! I thought we made a smart decision with choosing LG 7 years ago, because they were the latest technology and trend. My best friend had bought all LG the year before and was happy with it. But then the problems start (even with her). I have way too much to say if I speak of all the products, so I will focus on the fridge. The fridge stopped cooling with no warning whatsoever when it was 4 years old. We had to scramble to get a couple coolers with ice to save all our groceries.I called LG but they wanted to charge an outrageous amount just for the service call, about $80 and they said that doesnt include fixing it. So if their estimate would be too high and I would want to go with someone else, they still get $80. So I called a local company who specializes in LG. Their service fee was only $25. They came out and said it was either the compressor or a relay. If it is the compressor, it would be about $800, which is half the price of my $1600 fridge. Thankfully it was the relay, which was $125. But they can only guarantee the part for one year. Worst of all, they didnt have the part on hand and had to order it. We lived with no fridge, out of a cooler, for 3 weeks!Sure enough, 2 years later, same thing happens right when we return from vacation. Thank God it didnt happen while we were away! So once again, everything is melting and we have to scramble to save the food. This time they put a stronger relay, so it was $150, plus the $25 service fee, and they happened to have it, so the silver lining was we only lived out of a cooler for two days. But the tech said the compressor is extremely weak and I am lucky if I get another year or two max out of the fridge before it dies. At that point the fridge was only 6 and a half years old!! I simply dont have the energy to fight with LG because of all the bad reviews I see on the customer service. So I want to warn all the consumers out there to prevent this from happening to them. Choose another brand. On a side note, my stove/oven stopped working 6 weeks after the fridge went out the first time. Great timing lol. The digital panel stopped working after the numbers started fading months before. Well, because its digital, you cant turn anything on. I wish I still had the old school one with the knobs because the digital panel cost $250! Thats half the price of the oven. And of course only one year guarantee on the part. Thankfully, its been almost three years and so far so good. But if it happens again, I dont want to invest that much again into this piece of junk. How can LG be okay with doing business this way?! And of course this stuff happens once its out of warranty. We live paycheck to paycheck, so when this stuff happens, it really hurts us. We thought investing in high end products would pay off in the end, but we worked hard to pay off over $5,000 over a few years and got screwed :-(. I did not get extended warranties because I believe if the company makes good products I shouldnt need to. What happened to products lasting?? I sound like my mother lol but they really dont make things with pride, like they used to. Her 20 year old fridge is still going strong! If LG sees this, they should offer me some kind of credit out of good faith, but I have low expectations. At least I can warn the innocent consumers who work hard for their money.
LG RANGE IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. The knobs on the front can go on incredibly easy. Just a light brush up on them and it turns the stovetop on. Ive burned plastic bags, pot holders, myself. I cannot understand how this is even legal? Im worried about a kid accidentally turning it on when Im not home. Make a fix before someone gets hurt.
My LG range model Lre3021st broke at 1 year 1 month old and my LG refrigerator ice maker door broke about the same age. I guess Im out the LG business. Cheap junk. My dishwasher, microwave and toaster oven, not LG - not broken yet...
First Id like to say that I am not a person often motivated to write reviews. I dont rush to review items that just meet my expectations. Youll only find a review from me if something is extremely worthwhile or, as in this case, seriously flawed. We purchased our brand new LG top-loading washing machine from Lowes in December 2013 for almost $700. For the first four months I was in love with it. Then I inadvertently pushed the stop button instead of the pause button when the load I was washing became unbalanced. Since the load had reached the Rinse stage, I thought Id just select the special option for Rinse/Spin. From that moment until just last week, Ive had nothing but trouble from it, related to being out of balance. After stopping it and restarting, the machine filled several times with water that almost overflowed the tub. I had to keep pausing and stopping it to keep it from continuing to fill. From then on, every load I washed had to be redistributed at least twice, most of them four, five, or six times. The straw that broke the camels back came when it took me all day to get one load close to being done. Before the final jingle, I would have to go to work and couldnt finish the load. The next morning I would come in to find the load soured and smelly, so I would start it all over. This went on for 14 days. Finally, Id had enough and called LGs customer service line. The CSR I talked to was condescending and snippy with me. I described the problem, only to be told that, either the installer didnt level the machine properly or SOMEONE (I wonder who she could be talking about?) had done something to the machine to cause it to be unbalanced. After I told her I wasnt stupid and actually did know she was referring to me, in a very rude manner she told me my issues were an installation problem and not covered under warranty. Then, she simply hung up on me. Since LG wouldnt help, I called the number for our extended warranty plan. Thank goodness we have that. The CSR there informed me that, if LG says it is an installation issue, then we wont cover it either. Maybe you should have Lowes come out and level it. My next call was to Lowes, still trusting that it might be, in fact, an installation issue. The original installer showed up in short order, level in hand, to prove that, not only is the machine leveled properly, our floor was absolutely level as well. He suggested that I go to the store and speak to the manager, which I did. Actually, I ended up speaking to an assistant manager, who with a sincere straight face, called the salesman up to the service counter and asked him to call the extended warranty plan for me. The salesman, who was the same man that sold us this machine, repeated what hed said to us when we bought the machine. This is the top rated washing machine in the country. We havent had any complaints at all about them. He did, however, call the warranty plan folks, who now were willing to arrange a service call. Now, out of all of the people we talked to during a two-week period, at no point through all of this did anyone mention that there was a RECALL on this machines controller board due to problems with... Can you guess...the machine continually being out of balance. Of all the negative reviews I had read during these two weeks, I only saw one where the controller board was mentioned. Apparently, no one at any point along the way wants the consumer to know that the machine has a KNOWN, WIDESPREAD, DOCUMENTED PROBLEM THAT RESULTED IN A RECALL. We only found out about the RECALL, because the service company, not wanting to waste their time on two service trips, called ahead to ask what issues we were having with the machine. As soon as my husband described our problems to them, their CSR told him about the RECALL. Said they would have to order the controller board and rescheduled the service call to a date after the part would be in. Their technician came to the service call with the controller board in hand, which apparently was already loaded with updated software. Since having this board installed, I have used my machine heavily all day for the past four days. The only out of balance error Ive seen was for a true out of balance condition where all my small load of clothes had ended up on one side of the tub. As long as this washer continues to operate the way it is now, Im happy to own it. To LG, Lowes, Lowes Extended Warranty and any other company who sells this product without letting their customers know about this issue and the RECALL, I can only say SHAME ON YOU! BE HONEST WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS!! After being treated so dishonestly and shamefully by LG, I will never buy another LG product of any kind, even if I am told it is the top rated product in the country. LG obviously has no intention of standing behind their products when there is something wrong with them. Im also shocked and seriously disappointed with Lowes in whom Ive had so much trust over past years. Apparently their policy is one of loyalty to their manufacturers rather than their customers. Heres a clue, Lowes. Without customers you dont need manufacturers. Im afraid I wont be shopping at Lowes for anything any more. And all of these bad feelings and sentiments could have been avoided simply by being honest with me about the issue and upfront about the RECALL. To all of you consumers who have one of these washers with similar problems, call as soon as possible to wherever you bought it and tell them that you know about the RECALL. Tell them you want it fixed or you want them to come and pick it up. Exchange it for a machine from a company who will stand behind their product to keep it working and their customers happy. Most of all, lets all quit buying products made by companies who dont keep the promises they make to us. If no one buys their products, theyll either have to change their business practices or go under. As for LGs flawed washing machine, it is my intent with this review to alert anyone who owns one about the RECALL. Remember: RECALL RECALL RECALL RECALL RECALL RECALL RECALL. Take advantage of the RECALL!
I have had my LG Gas Range LDG4315ST for 3 months. The top oven undercooks and the bottom oven burns everything. The knobs on the front of the range can turn on just by walking past and bumping them. I have walked into my kitchen numerous time and smelled gas and found the knob turned just enough to let the gas escape. I have turned the burner on just buy reaching up to the cupboard over the range. This is an extremely dangerous appliance! If you have young children beware!! I have contacted LG 4 times and I am still waiting for them to set up a technician to come to my house. Would never, never buy another LG appliance. This range needs recalled. Do not buy it!
My wife and I purchased an LG gas range (model LRG3081ST) and found that it overcooked food. When testing I found the range overheats during the pre-heat cycle. After setting the bake temperature you can watch the thermometer increase by 5 degrees every 6 to 7 seconds. When the thermometer reaches 5 degrees below the set temperature, it stays with that display for about 2 minutes while the oven continues to heat. When the pre-heat notification sounds, the pre-heat temperature is about 100 degrees above the set temperature.I opened a case with LG and they sent a repair tech to look at the oven. The tech confirmed the issue and tried to order a replacement control board. LG told him that was the way the oven is supposed to work and wouldnt allow him to order the new board. Ive now submitted a customer complaint but dont have any idea if anyone will make any changes. I cant imagine LG would actually design an oven that is supposed to overheat by 100 degrees. Our current resolution is to set the bake temperature, go through the pre-heat cycle, let the oven stand until it relights to maintain the set bake temperature, and then put the food in the oven. This isnt acceptable.
Approx 13 months after purchasing this nice LG French Door Refrigerator, Model LFXS30726S, the door display panel had a strange looking black leakage appearing at the bottom. This continues to get worse. It was outside of Mfg warranty (of course), purchased from HHGregg. Took pictures, tried to work with HHGregg, LG, and the service contract company---all said this was a cosmetic issue. No harsh cleaners have been used, no misuse or abuse. Now a year later its even worse. LG customer service is horrible, no help whatsoever. Warranty company continues to say cosmetic. So after spending over $2000 for this refrigerator, its my problem. I will not buy an LG product ever again, and I tell everyone I know to stay away from them. This is why I am writing this review, so other consumers wont be caught in a similar situation.
Oven started smoking from back side close to the wall. Smelt and looked like it could be burning from inside the back of unit. Called LG on Oct 10th. LG sent repair company on Oct 19th, repair men said they had never seen anything like this before. It appeared that the underbelly of the stove had melted something that they could not repair and thought LG would end up replacing the unit. After several calls to LG and them promising to keep in touch by several departments from first call to report the issue to elevated with executive to liability am told the warranty had been voided due to us extinguishing the potential fire in our kitchen. Today is November 12th. Was promised another call on November 9th. Again no response on side of LG.
We purchased an LG range with convection/double oven and it was delivered in December 2012. I was at my home in Nashville so I never used the stove until I returned on February 12th, 2012. My daughter did use the stove and it worked fine as far as using the burners was concerned. I am a baker (experienced) and so I tried the ovens and they do not work properly. They are not calibrated correctly and bake uneven and spotty. The oven temp does not work properly. The cakes bake/burn on the outside and not in the middle. Now, the 90-day warranty has passed and I do not know what I can do to get this lemon of an appliance replaced. I work in media and you can bet that I will not be telling the public to purchase this stove. Awful, just awful! I will never purchase an LG appliance again!
We bought it brand new with matching Refrigerator, Microwave, and Dishwasher. Within the first year the Blue Paint started popping off into our food and ruined our Thanksgiving TURKEY DINNER. LG CUSTOMER SERVICE SENT OUT A TECH WHO STATED IT WAS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. We followed directions and were sent a Return Authorization. I was called to service out of the country but had arranged for LG to replace the Range with a new one. I returned from my duty abroad to find that the Range had never been replaced and was still defective. I called to request that LG honor their RA and was told that it expired after 30 days and now they would not replace my oven. I got my Extended Warranty rep. Wanda ** at AM Trust Group involved and she contacted LG on a 3-way call and they requested a copy of our purchase receipt again. Wanda sent it to them, handled the claim for me and e-mailed that we were getting a New Range, I just needed to call LG to arrange it. I called LG and was redirected away from the representative that said we could have a refund of our purchase price plus taxes to Barbara, a Customer Service Manager who stated that due to the time that passed the best they could do for my Refund was $267 for my $897 Range. I complained and was sent to the LEAD AGENT, Managing Director for Customer service, Michael, on February 12th, 2015. He offered to Increase the Proration to $407 for my Range and despite my pointing out that it was the same faulty range they had agreed to replace originally. He stated that that was LGs full and Final offer for my now out of manufacturers Warranty, Defectively built Non-repairable Range. He stated I would get paperwork in the mail in a few days and would need to remove the Manufacturer ID plate from my Range to prove I still had the Range in order to get a refund Check. That was over 2 weeks ago and Nothing has happened. Now the Range stovetop does not shut off and I am in dire need of a new Range. Thanks for nothing LG (LOW GRADE) corporation. All US MILITARY FAMILIES ARE WARNED. LG DOES NOT CARE! AND DOES NOT KEEP THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE HALF-HEARTED PROMISES. PS, MY Refrigerators electric self-opening and closing Doors stopped working, it was not a Manufacturer Defect and the parts are not available. So Wandas Extended warranty Company gave me a full refund of my purchase Price. Bravo. Too Bad my Range was a Manufacturer DEFECT and not covered under my Extended Warranty as such.
I tried to EasyClean feature three times and it did not work. Then I called LG multiple times. They finally sent out their technician who agreed that it is not working. He recommended I called priority services and they said we can’t do anything about it because the oven is still functioning correctly. I contacted the Better Business Bureau of New Jersey and had many email conversations with them and LG headquarters and the final decision was I’m supposed to use three or four different types of chemicals to clean the oven because their feature does not work. We are in our 70s and scraping back of oven is not an option, only bought this oven because of the EasyClean feature.
The factory replaced the motherboard (main circuit board) only because of a national recall, which I never was made aware of. The tech said the repair wouldnt solve the control problems and I would have to make an appointment for that repair and pay for the parts and service call. I bought factory replacement circuit boards and replaced them and now the oven wont turn off unless you go outside the house and flip the electric circuit breaker.
We bought our LG refrigerator and stove. It has a stainless steel kind of finish on it. We have had several stainless steel stoves and refrigerators. None of them had a bad cheap finish as this new one. What kind of horrible finish is this? When we get a glass of water and some water leaks down on the finish, you can see it and it doesnt come off. We have tried all sorts of products made for stainless finishes. Nothing seems to work. If you have a nice kitchen and you want some appliances that look good and clean, never buy one that has this finish. It makes our kitchen look unkept. The appliance is good except for the finish. And I see this and am saddened that they make a good product, and put a cheap finish on the appliance. I have extended warranty, but the warranty doesnt cover a bad finish.
I used the oven for the first time 3 months after purchasing it and while the oven was cooling down after cooking in it, the glass door exploded. This range model has a double oven - a top small oven and a bottom large convection oven. I have used the top numerous times but this was the first time I used the large bottom oven. Being under warranty, I called LG and filed a claim. It took 2 weeks to get someone out to my house to evaluate the situation. Upon evaluation, I was told their findings would be reported to LG Warranty Department and the appropriate action would be taken. I just received a call from the repair company stating that LG will replace the glass in the door. I am a little worried about this because I kind of expected the entire door to be replaced. How will this affect the integrity of the door? What if it happens again? It could happen any time - most often during the self-clean cycle of the oven. I am very concerned and wish manufacturers would go back to the days of a solid oven door.
It seems Im not the only one having a rust issue with my new LG washer. I also have rust forming around the bleach dispenser. And I now have orange stains on all my white sheets and clothes, which I can only assume is from rust... and it will not come out. I will be putting in a complaint with LG, but from what Im reading from other people, its not going to help.
ALL appliances purchased June - Aug 2020 (they arrived at different times). I INSISTED on getting LG appliances, as I had only known them to be a superior product. BOY was I shocked at the horrible product they have become. Our new appliances were purchased all at once. Our washer was defective from the first day and had to be replaced, our new fridge is making strange sounds and needs to be repaired (I suspect it is the compressor), and our dishwasher refuses to latch closed on a regular basis. The reviews I read now are horrible and it sickens me that I saved for years to buy new appliances that are in my opinion, garbage. As far as LG goes, run away as hard and as fast as you can! Ps: their customer service in regards to the repairs were very rude in spite of my being polite. One young guy actually hung up on me after I had to call three times for a response! HORRIBLE product, HORRIBLE service...
We have had our LG Electric Range (LSE4613) since September of 2017. Within this two month period, we have had quite a few incidents when the burners were turned on without us realizing they were on. This last time, we were seconds from significant fire damage to our home. As many others have noted, because the LG stovetops can be turned on by the slightest touch, brush or bump, it is a huge safety hazard. LG needs to develop a fix for this dangerous problem before there is a major recall or lawsuit. There is a lock feature, but its not possible to have it on at all times. The self cleaning feature also seems dangerous. While cleaning, the tile and surrounding granite became too hot to touch, so we turned it off within one hour.
I have purchased several LG kitchen appliances. The overall quality is good, lots of convenience features and pleasant appearance. When they are working they are great. However if you ever need LG repair service have patience. They are the worst for scheduling your service and even worst still to actually get a technician to your appliance. This means that you are without the use of your appliance for up to 90 days or longer. Also the appliances are expensive and the warranty is only 1 year, which is standard and really burns me. When you spend nearly $2000 for an electric stove and the manufacturer only puts a 1 year warranty on it, that says something about how it was made and the level of confidence the manufacturer has in their product. I prefer American made products but sadly there aren’t many major appliances that are American made anymore.
I have found that LG LRG3081ST turns on just by walking past the stove and bumping the knob. This has happened multiple times and needs to be addressed before my house blows up. This time the stove knob must have been turned on all night because the whole house smelled of gas fumes. I have looked all over the internet this morning to find out if there is any fix for this and have been unsuccessful in finding anything. This is very frustrating and needs to be fixed. I have read that there is only one-year warranty on this stove and this is not under warranty because its a design flaw LG needs to fix.
I bought an LG gas stove a year ago and a microwave as well. What a piece of junk the stove is! It does not heat up fast. It takes 20 min to come to 350 and it does not even heat up right. I am always burning food which never happened unless it was my fault. It has 2 temps burnt or raw! I do use it a lot but that is no excuse. The blue interior has a haze on it I cant get rid of, I have tried everything under the sun. If there was a way to get my money back or fixed the interior I would but Google is no help. Now the microwave, it went out 6 months ago I called them it took another 3 months for them to get someone to come out and we live in Northern VA not a rural area then another 3 months to get someone out to fix it. We hardly ever use it (the microwave) and to have the control board go out at 6 months is crazy. I got the extended and its acting up again! I dont think I can ever buy an LG product again. If I had the money I would junk the stove and get something else. But I dont. I somehow doubt LG even cares. Neither one was cheap.
I have purchased 5 major appliances from LG in the past 16 months. Several days ago, I noticed ice on some of my frozen products in the freezer. I think I have it narrowed down to a $6 ice tray. It seems bent and lower than level at left front of the plastic tray. When I called to report the problem, all LG wanted to hear was, Did you purchase an extended warranty? I did not. I received a call back a few days later informing me that LG will not help me. The best they will do is to refer me to a plumber at my cost. No, thanks!!! These will be the last LG products (washer, dryer, gas range, dishwasher, and refrigerator) I will buy.
I bought a LG refrigerator... Less than a year ice maker does not work... Stove start button for oven works when it gets ready (stove almost 2 yrs old)... Just got a dishwasher in December 2013. The le is flashing...From what I have read online it could be a loose wire or the motor...really! I see why they try and push extra coverage... defective before you buy it. I can maybe see one product... but 3... all from the same store (hhgregg). BEWARE!
My kitchen was filled with 2 LG appliances; a microwave, and a refrigerator. I’ve had LG products in previous homes as well and although I’ve had to fix them from time to time they have been generally good products. So when it came time to purchase a dishwasher and a range oven I wanted to have a matching set so I went with the LG dishwasher and range oven.My refrigerator is 6 years old now and was not cooling down properly. I called your customer service line to see what could be done and they gave me the name and number of a local technician. I called and set up an appointment with Duncan Home Services. They diagnosed the problem as a faulty compressor. Although it was an inconvenience, I was pleased to remember there was a 10 year warranty on the linear compressors that were in my model of refrigerator (LFX28968ST/01). I called customer service on April 22nd of 2019 to see about getting the compressor replaced. 44 days later and 7 hours, 21 minutes and 42 seconds on the phone with customer support… I still do not have the correct replacement for my faulty compressor.I was given a case number of **. I will detail my dissatisfaction with your call support team later but here is a summation of the issue. In response to my request for a warranty replacement of the compressor, the Tech was sent a compressor with the model number of TCA35533604. This part was identified as a “backup replacement”. The Tech had installed one of these in another refrigerator they worked on just like mine and they knew it didn’t work. Therefore they would not install it and charge me the labor. They determined the correct part was TCA35893202. When they called to order that part they were told it is on backorder until early July.I don’t know if you’ve ever gone without a refrigerator for 2 months but when one is used to it being there, it is ridiculously inconvenient. The summation of what I determined from your customer support team was that I had 3 options that are policies that they say are set by you. 1: Wait another month for the part to come in. 2: I was offered 20% off a new LG refrigerator. 3: If I could produce the receipt then I could be given a new refrigerator. My problems with the above proposals are as follows: 1: I’ve already waited a month and cannot wait another month for a part that may or may not come in. I will be forced to purchase a new refrigerator from one of your competitors. 2: An equivalent replacement refrigerator will be another $2000 minimum. 20% of that is $400. I don’t have $1600 available to buy from a company that is doing a horrible job honoring their Warranty. As I said, I’d prefer to buy from someone else. 3: I know that the refrigerator was purchased at Lowes, I know that it was on or near Black Friday of 2013 but I do not have the original receipt from 6 years ago.I proposed 2 solutions to the problem, but the customer service supervisor said that she didn’t have authority to do either of the 2 options and only you did. I proposed the following: 1: Since the Tech determined that the compressor that LG sent was incorrect they would not Warranty their work. Since I have to pay labor for the installation as that is past the warranty period of 5 years, that is a problem. LG could warranty the work of their tech so I am not on the hook for when the part doesn’t work.2: The correct part (TCA35893202) is available through local appliance parts outlets and retails for around $279. LG could provide a voucher to the tech to purchase the part locally. This would be the quickest and most cost effective solution for all parties in my opinion. So if you could authorize my Option 2 promptly that would be fantastic. I am merely asking for a timely and correct replacement for a warrantied part. Now I spoke with at least 6 different supervisors. They are the 2nd tier of customer support. I have no issue with the first tier of support. They were all professional and as helpful as they could be and got me to the 2nd tier fairly quickly on seven of my ten calls. The 2nd tier of individuals however were the opposite. All I was given were first names so that is all I can provide. They were; Daniel, Brea, Jessie, Jem, Jessica, and Tyesha.Daniel: Daniel informed me that he would send an email to the parts guy Cyrus about the availability of TCA35893202 and he would call me back. That was early May and I never heard from him. Brea: She was generally pleasant but couldn’t help me any. She told me the tech would have to call the parts department to see if the correct compressor was available. (The tech did call and was told that the correct compressor was on backorder.) Jessie: Jessie appeared to be helpful and told me that he/she was going to send an email to Cyrus as well to see if the part was truly back-ordered. If it was, he/she could issue a replacement refrigerator (Which surprised me and I did not ask for.) He/she said I would get a phone call later… I did not, again. Jem: I’m not sure if I have the name right but she basically hung up on me and sent me back to the 1st tier people. They put me back through to the supervisors and I got Jessica. Jessica: I wasn’t particularly pleasant with Jessica as I was beyond frustration at this point. She responded by being extremely unhelpful and refused to walk through the notes of the previous 7 or 8 calls I had made. I told her what Jessie had said earlier about the replacement but she told me there was no Jessie in her office. She ended up telling me that TCA35893202 was NOT back-ordered and it was available but the tech had to order it. (The tech did call again to order it and was told that the part was still back-ordered.) I feel that I was blatantly lied to.Jessie: Imagine my surprise when I in fact got Jessie again despite Jessica telling me there was no Jessie. This time Jessie offered me the 20% off a replacement refrigerator. I told her that was not satisfactory, nor was the waiting until July for the part and that I could not produce a 6 year old receipt. She put me on hold… for a really long time until… Tyesha picked up the line and I got to re-explain everything to her. Tyesha: She just continually reiterated my 3 unsatisfactory options and told me there was nothing she could do and my only recourse was to write you a letter. So here I am. Should this situation not be remedied by my Option 2 listed above or a better idea you come up with yourself I will never be purchasing any LG product again. I will also never recommend an LG product to any family or friends. Although they are not particularly effective against your bottom line, these are my only options for recourse and I will pursue them endlessly. Thank you. Mark **
I have an LG dishwasher, stove, refrig and microwave in my kitchen. The stove, I love... The frig, I like. The microwave really works well. The only thing I would like to have that it dont is a quick min button. My other unit that was the button that we used 9 times out of 10. The dishwasher on the other hand, I have hate for. First of all, it never gets my dishes clean. It takes 2 hours to run and it doesnt get any of the dishes clean in that time. (JUST AN FYI... THE ENERGY SAVERS IS NOT ENERGY SAVING FOR THE CONSUMER... MIGHT WANNA DO A LITTLE RESEARCH ON THAT ONE) BUT ANYWAY...The LG dishwasher dont even rinse the dish soap off its own door. It is by far the worst dishwasher that I have ever had and I really dont have time to do dishes, thats why I have a dishwasher. My LG dishwasher has a lovely chime and thats all its good for. I have stuck a slice of cardboard in there with my dishes to see if it would even get wet... It had a few spots on it and it was a little damp from the high humidity during the disinfecting cycle (that by the way is so hot that I have had a couple of ceramic cups crack in half from the extreme heat). Second... be careful if you have one of these LG dishwashers because I opened it and let the door fall to its resting place so I could load it and the handle landed on the top of my foot and I had a large hematoma that turned black and blue covering the entire top of my foot for weeks from having it land on my foot. I thought it was broke to be honest. The thing is Im grown and life is hard enough to deal with manufacturers taking advantage of consumers by selling them products that dont work at all. Surely they did test on these and knew that they were unable to clean dishes. The thing is I use to love LG. Ive had several of their flat screens and of course I did my entire kitchen in LG... But for them to know that they made a shoddy product and not do right by the people that supported them by replacing the metal chimney boxes they sold us instead of dishwashers makes me sad... Ive spent months of my hard earned income on their products and to be swindled like this by them makes me so sad that even though I love their other products, I wont be supporting their company brand any longer. Its a warning... If you want clean dishes, do your kitchen with another brand!
I went on the LG website and used the chat feature. After explaining my question I was referred to a third party website and was solicited to sign up for some service business to receive an answer to my simple question. We spent $4700 for a kitchen appliance set three years ago and they send me to a third party, for charge, to receive a simple answer. Question was, Is my stoves cook top supposed to be level from front to rear? LG Electric Range Model LRE308BD.
The knobs cracked, and fell off. The oven floor is peeling, and the grill burner does not work. Knobs cracking make us very nervous, not knowing if the burners are off all the way. The grill burner does not light all the way around.
LG claims that their appliances are built to last, but that is definitely not true for this gas stove. After only a few years of gentle use, it is falling apart. All the knobs are cracked, loose and need to be replaced, the centre grill cracked and broke, the LED display is starting to act up, the convection oven fan is pretty much useless. Gas valves are also really touchy and can be accidentally activated by accidentally bumping them. Parts are super expensive! LG wants almost $80 per knob to replace (there are five of them) and $240 for the grill assembly -- $640 + tax just for these parts! There are no electronics or moving components to knobs and grills -- they should last forever -- but they dont. Lots of complaints on the internet about LG stove knobs. Replacement knobs look like the same junk as the originals. No improvements. I called LG customer service to ask what they mean by built to last, but nobody could really say. My family and I are really disappointed that LG makes false claims about reliability and then charges outrageous prices for parts. Appliances should be repairable - at affordable prices - not disposable. We will be getting rid of this unreliable piece of junk and buying a stove from a reputable company. Please consider other manufacturers that are committed to reliability, service and environmental responsibility. LG does not deserve our business.
My LG fridge isnt even 3 years old. The compressor has gone out 2 times. Not even a month between breaking twice. The matching stove broke 2 days between each other. I will never buy LG again or if their parts are used in another brand. Ill make sure to do my research on my next purchase. Hundreds of dollars lost in food each time. This is ridiculous! LG should be offering consumers their money back. I dont want a fridge that will keep breaking. I want to buy from another company but unfortunately I live paycheck to paycheck and had to save for this garbage.
Ive been VERY careful with cleaning the top of the range and am finding that the surface is pitting. I use Dawn soap only. Cant seem to get anywhere with having it checked out. My daughter bought a similar Sears range and has no problem with it.
I purchased an LG electric range and refrigerator. An extended warranty was not purchased, as I didnt feel a $1400.00 range and $1700.00 refrigerator would require repairs in a 5-year period. The refrigerator has been problematic (leaks and broken plastic drawers), but it keeps the food cold. So well deal with the unsightly leaks and work to the best of our ability to keep our expensive wood floor dry. My current problem is my electric range. It quit working altogether, and by reading many complaints, the model is infamous for this breakdown. In speaking to LG customer service department, the only remedy she could offer is the name and number for the only repairman they have contracted in the Louisville area. An appointment was arranged with Universal Appliance, which was confirmed before I took 5 hours of unpaid time off from work. Needless to say, they did not show up. I was given an explanation and told they would be here before 10 am the following day (more unpaid time off work). It is 9:55 am and still no repairman. I am left with a non-working 2-year-old electric range and up to this point $150.00 pay deduction. I am disappointed in the sub-standard quality of my LG products and feel I have no recourse.
Noticed a burn spot on the inside of my LG Microwave oven about 2 weeks ago. Tried to wipe it clean to no avail. Took a closer look at the spot which is growing larger with each use. Now it seems to be burning away at the material. The microwave has been noisier at start up than usual but thought nothing of it so it may or may not be related to the problem at hand. Contacted LG customer service and their rep told me to stop using the microwave as it could catch on fire, but what was occurring with the microwave would not harm the food being cooked. Thats a small comfort. Requested recall information, but alas there is no recall issued by LG for this problem yet the potential for fire is great. Wheres the logic in that? Hasnt LG heard of Tort law? LG contacted the local repair shop to fix the issue at their expense. Parts and labor paid for by LG. Purchased this microwave in 2008. I have used and owned various microwaves in my lifetime and have never had anything like this happen before. Yes, I keep the interior clean and grease free. Needless to say if this is unrepairable and must buy another microwave it will not be an LG.
I absolutely love my LG range. It cooks everything perfectly even. Baking cookies, pies, meats, etc. I am definitely a better cook thanks to my LG. Also with the self cleaning mode, it saves me a lot of time. I give my LG a 9 out of 10. The only way it could be any more perfect is if it came with its own personal Chef, lol. Thanks LG. DR
