Issue: The refrigerator (French door LFXS30766S) broke down on 7/4/2018, just couple days after two years warranty. Find out it’s “sealed system” issue and this is still covered by LG for five years. Called LG and reported the issue on 7/6/2018, they have created ticket and mentioned that they will find the technician and assign it. How many days since then? One month now. Technician is yet to come my home and look into issue. In between, I have called so many times to LG, each time their answer is standard, they are still trying to find the technician and escalating the ticket or creates new ticket, which is nothing but their excuse to tell customer to wait for 3-5 business days. I wonder why no technician wants to work with LG, whoever I talked to they either says they are two far away from my destination or they don’t work with LG. I have even asked LG if they can assign work order to “Sears home service” they are reliable and guarantee they will come, but LG says it is not possible for them to assign the work order to Sears. Why? No idea. After so many phone calls and many tickets where are we? Nowhere near the resolution. I wouldn’t recommend LG product anymore. Settlement that I am looking: LG assign reliable tech which I can count on or refund the money.

This washer has many problems. The timer gets stuck. It will say it has 30 minutes until finished, but 20 minutes later, it still says it has 30 minutes to go. It does not get clothes clean. Clothes get tangled in a ball, then the machine gets unbalanced. But, worst of all, I have had many things ruined - they come out with what looks like bleach spots and I dont use bleach. I dont know what causes that problem. I wish I had never bought this machine.

I have posted here before about the smell from my LG Tromm washer. I have been reading other posts regarding leaving the door open and peeling paint. I have always left the door of my washer open and, as Ive posted before, still get that awful smell. We are at the point now of needing to replace the washing machine after 3 years because our clothes smell so bad. We have tried all the front-loading washing machine cleaners we can find and have used bleach in the tub clean as per the owners manual. One of the worst smelling items is our wonderful towels. After showering, we have to remember not to breathe deeply while drying our faces! And I just noticed the paint is peeling off the front of the machine, near one of the “seams”. It is almost like the way wet latex paint will just wipe off if. It is painted over an oil-based paint. What can we do about this? I really cant afford to buy another washing machine already.

Refrigerator: Model No. LFX31945ST 3-door LG Ice & Water Stainless Steel 28 Serial No. 207KRWZ0A593 purchased on 09/16/2012 from hhgregg 1321 Huguenot Rd. Midlothian, VA 23112. Contacted LG Service Department on 07-01-13 Ref: Ice Maker. 07-03-13 Service Technician came out and ran a diagnostic on unit, determined that compressor was bad and had to order one. 07-06-13 9:20 PM Contacted service center and was advised that technician was due on Monday 07-08-13 between 8:00 AM and 12 Noon to replace compressor. 07-09-14 Contacted service center about noise coming from back of refrigerator. They advised that this was normal. 08-15-14 Contacted service center about noise coming from back of refrigerator. They advised that this was normal. Unknown date contacted service center concerning error codes “er rf” on display unit. Technician scheduled to come out on 10-01-14.10-01-14 Service technician arrived to check on noise and cooling issues. Coil and fan motor frozen with ice. As technician was removing inside grille to get to fan he broke the grille. He defrosted the ice from the fan motor and replaced the grille with one he had in his truck. Set temperature for refrigerator to +34 degrees and temperature for freezer to -1 degree. He wrote up the service ticked and charged $81.98 for the “Duct Assembly, Multi (item number: **)” that he broke plus the $120 for service call plus $4.34 tax on the replacement grille part. 10-06-14 Sent Fax to a ** in the Alabama location concerning telephone conversation in which he advised LG would reimburse me for the cost of the repair part plus the tax. Fax included cover sheet, two page service ticket and copy of purchase order from hhgregg.10-22-14 Called service center and after a 20 minute hold to verify my status, was advised that I should hear from Alabama around November 3rd. 07-10-15 Around 4:52 PM Eastern Time, called service center and advised them that freezer was not freezing (temperature was 62 degrees and rising) and that all food in freezer had spoiled. Furthermore, the refrigerator temperature was almost 70 degrees and food had spoiled. Additionally the unit was making a loud motor noise in the rear of the unit. After trying to explain the issue over and over again I requested to speak to a supervisor. I was placed on hold for 38 minutes and 26 seconds until I disconnected the call from my cell phone, but not before I had called the service center again from my house phone. It was only after I explained everything again that I was informed that the executive staff (supervisors) department closed at 5:00 PM and that I could not run the “Smart Diagnostic” over the telephone because all of the service technicians in their department had also gone at 5:00 PM, that I would have to call back tomorrow on 7-11-15. The service center advised me that the service warranty had expired and any service call would be $120.00 plus parts. This was mentioned on three different times during the call. I did manage to schedule an appointment for a technician to come to the house on Monday, 7-13-15 between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Total time on the telephone service call was 58 minutes and 44 seconds.7-11-15 Called the service center again and had to explain everything that I explained twice the night before. After requesting to run the “Smart Diagnostic” I was placed on hold then performed the diagnostic. After a delay they informed me that the diagnostic did not come through and we had to do it again. Once that went through I asked what it showed and was told that they did not know, that someone from the technical staff had to review it. They told me that they could schedule a technician to come out to the house on Tuesday afternoon on 7-/14/15 but there would be a $120.00 service call charge plus the cost of any parts. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and they asked me what that was about. Finally after going back and forth with them I was placed on hold for about 12 minutes before a supervisor identified as ** came on the line. She asked what the problem was and then placed me on hold while she brought up my file on her computer. That took another 5 plus minutes. Finally after explaining everything to her about the previous night and current call she placed a one-time extended warranty on the unit and gave me an authorization number of: **. She advised that she could get a technician out on Tuesday afternoon 7/14/15 and when I told her that I had one already scheduled for 7/13/15 she confirmed it. This call was then terminated after 58 minutes and 11 seconds.7-13-15 Contacted by service technician at 3:12 PM who advised that he would be arriving in about 20 minutes. He asked what I thought was wrong with the unit and I replied that I thought that the compressor had gone bad. I explained the temperature readings and the noise it was making. He stated that if it was in fact a bad compressor that he could not fix it today as he did not have one with him and would have to order one. He arrived at 3:38 PM, removed the lower back grill panel to access the compressor and noticed a lot of dust on the evaporator coils. I asked him if I was supposed to remove the rear access grille to try and clean the coils and he advised against it stating that it could damage the vanes on the coils. He went back out to his truck to get his gauges and checked the compressor which he determined was bad. He advised that he was fully booked for tomorrow, Tuesday, 7/14/15 but would press his schedule and plug me in on the end of the day. He departed at 4:04 PM advising that he would call when he was on his way out to replace the compressor. 7-14-15 Around 1:23 PM service technician ** called to advise he was on his way. Compressor delivered via FEDEX this afternoon and left at the garage door. Technician arrived at 1:30 PM, completed compressor swap and departed at 3:30 PM.06-04-16 Noticed that items inside the refrigerator were not as cold and normal that that on several occasions milk and dairy products were spoiling before the “Best if Used By” dates. The inside temperature of unit felt cool and not cold. Placed thermometer inside the refrigerator portion of the unit and began taking readings. Also noticed that freezer unit was not as cold as it should be also. Placed thermometer inside the freezer unit and began taking readings as well. Temperature settings on the panel are set the same as the technician left them on his last visit on 7/14/15. Refrigerator set to 34 degrees and freezer set to -1 degrees.06-05-16 At 9:00 AM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 48 degrees on a dial-type thermometer and freezer showing 5 degrees on a digital thermometer. 06-05-16 At 3:00 PM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 50 degrees on a dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 8 degrees on a digital thermometer. 06-05-16 At 9:30 PM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 46 degrees on a dial-type dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 7 degrees on a digital thermometer. 06-06-16 At 10:00 AM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 48 degrees on a dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 8 degrees on a digital thermometer.06-06-16 At 11:32 AM called LG toll free number (800-243-0000) received recording and sent link for self-diagnostic. Performed self-diagnostic as per link and advised to contact LG repair at (866-558-2559). Refrigerator was showing 50 degrees on a dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 6 degrees on a digital thermometer.06-06-16 At 12:10 PM called LG toll free number and automated system advised they would call back within the next two hours. At 12:15 PM was connected to a Customer Service Rep in the Philippines. I requested several times to be connected to an American Customer Service Rep in the United States but was told three times that there were no US representative at their location. After my fourth attempt I was placed on hold. At 12:18 PM the Philippine rep came back on the line and advised that they did not have a US contact number. I requested to speak to a supervisor and when queried as to why I explained that I wanted to speak to a US rep and that her service center should have a number. She put me on hold again. At 12:21 PM she came back on the line to advise she will transfer me to a supervisor. At 12:27 transferred to ** in the Alabama office. After trying to explain my issues with her she placed me on hold several times explaining they are using new software programs and have glitches. She is trying to plug in the extended warranty on the unit. She returned on the line to advise that she had scheduled the technician ** to come out between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM under Authorization Number **. She further advised that this authorization included the service call plus parts and labor. ** also provided a direct number to the Alabama Service Center at **. The telephone contact was terminated after 50 minutes and 47 seconds at 1:00 PM.06-07-16 At 11:15 AM received call from Service Tech who advised that he would be out within the next 15 – 30 minutes. He arrived at 11:35 and performed a refrigeration pressure check on the system. He stated that it appeared there is a leak at one of the coil joints where the copper joins the aluminum. He indicated that the High Side pressure dropped 30 psi with no movement on the Low Side and that indicates a leak somewhere in the system. He further stated that much drop could indicate only a ½ charge or less of coolant presently in the system. He explained that there was a company issue with ordering parts to have them overnighted to the customer. Lately the parts have been shipped to him which delays service. He stated that the parts he needs will be overnighted to me and should be here NLT 10:30 AM tomorrow, Wednesday, June 8th. He has scheduled an appointment for Thursday at 1:00 PM just to be safe and at present he only has one appointment for tomorrow. If I receive the parts tomorrow morning I am to give him a call and he will work me into his Wednesday schedule. He indicated that the job would take several hours to complete (Of note: He asked me if I was removing the rear access panel to blow out dust and vacuum the coil area. I told him that on 7-13-15 I asked him if I was supposed to remove the rear access grille to try and clean the coils and he advised against it stating that it could damage the vanes on the coils. He told me that he did not say that, that he highly recommends the customer remove the rear access grille and try to blow out the dust and debris, then vacuum the debris up, just being careful not to get near the vanes or coils.). After placing the order for the parts to be shipped/overnighted here he departed at 12:05PM.06-08-16 At unknown time, received call from Service Technician to advise that the FedEx tracking indicated that the parts he had ordered had arrived. I confirmed that and he indicated that he would be arriving sometime around 11:00 AM. He had ordered both a refrigerator coil and the freezer coil which had arrived and be commenced disassembling the inside of the refrigerator to swap out the refrigerator coil which he felt had a small leak on one of the connections. After steaming ice off of the end or the coil he replaced it with the new one. He then checked the pressurization on the lines and said that he was satisfied with the as it did not appear there were any leaks. After checking other things in the unit he packed up and departed advising that he would check back to see how the unit was performing.06-09-16 At 8:52 AM received a call from Service Technician, who was checking on the performance of the unit. I advised him that it did not appear to be cooling as he had predicted, that the freezer was in the teens and the refrigerator in the lower 40’s. He advised me to keep a check on it and he would schedule me for the first of the week. 06-12-16 At 3:14 PM received a call on answering machine from Service Technician who advised that he has me scheduled for Tuesday, 6-13-16 between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.06-13-16 At 2:07 PM received a call from Service Tech who advised he would be here within the next 10 - 15 minutes to check on the unit again. He arrived at approximately 2:25 PM and proceeded to first blow out the dust that had accumulated under the unit and on the coils which was minimal. He then began to test the system refrigerant and determined that it was not up to capacity. He then vacuumed the lines and added some additional Freon. He advised that it appeared that there was a little water in the line which he was able to purge. He indicated that the unit should work fine at this point with the cooling in the refrigerator set to 34 degrees and the freezer set to 0 degrees. I told him that I would continue to take temperature readings in both the refrigerator and freezer and if I noticed them not performing I would call him and let him know. After about 1 ½ hours of work he departed.06-14-16 At 8:53 AM received a call from Service Technician asking how the unit was performing. I texted him back at 11:39 AM advising that the refrigerator was at 37 degrees and the freezer was at 9 degrees. At 12:15 PM Service Technician called again to advise that he had mistakenly had a parts order sent to our house and wanted to know if was OK for him to come by and pick it up. I advised that it was not a problem. He asked about the refrigerator and I advised him that I would continue to monitor the temperatures several times during the day and evening for the next few days to see if the system performs as expected and would advise him of results. He advised that he will continue to check up on it and would be calling periodically. On 05-24-17 we returned home from an extended vacation to discover that the ice maker was not producing ice. Door was dispensing water but there was no ice in the door-side ice maker and therefore nothing to dispense. On 06-05-17 At 12:18 PM I contacted the Executive Offices in Alabama at ** to explain the issue I was having with the ice maker not working. The person I spoke with, whose name I failed to get, advised me that she would give me the number of the local service center to schedule an appointment for a technician to come out and diagnose the problem. There would be charges for the technician to come out, charges for the diagnostic, charges for parts and labor since the unit was past its one year warranty and had already been given a one- time courtesy and she was not going to issue another one. I was basically out of luck but could get it fixed through the technician with service call charges plus parts and labor. While the service technician was very personable and professional, that is the only thing good I can say about me experience with this company. The technician even told me on several occasions during his visits that the parts i.e. compressors, etc were inferior and the technicians were having all kinds of problems with them. With the experience that I have had in dealing with this company, I doubt that I will every purchase anything else with the LG label.

Our $3000.00 LG refrigerator (lfxc24726s/02) started having problems just after the warranty expired in January 2017 and between waiting 3 months for parts then another two weeks because part replaced did not work and a day later the door is now leaking water. Called LG to voice our concerns with their quality and mentioning I have all LG appliances in the kitchen they dont really care. If you are in the market for a refrigerator avoid LG all together. Many more choices and better quality at this price range!

I purchased an LG washer. After the warranty ran out, a tear appeared in the gasket around the washer. It seems like this is a default, this should not have happened in this small span of time. It will cost around $350 to repair plus the technicians fees. Im very disappointed in this machine and would not recommend it to anyone. A class action law suit sounds good to me.

Soon after we bought this model on 7/28/09, we had to replace the circuit board as a result of what the repairman said was a design flaw, whereby using the self-cleaning mode will burn the circuit boards out if you use them more than once a year. Now, our oven will not heat. The oven indicator says both elements are on, but they are only warm to the touch. I cant get a repair manual or an answer from LG as to how to fix it or if there is a recall on the product itself. Are we stuck with this bogus product?

I bought my refrigerator in November of 2012. It worked fine until it broke down a couple of weeks ago. I call LG the parts is under warranty and they referred me to one of their service tech. Long story short the tech wanted to charge 850.00 labor, LG had said 200 to 250 for labor on their website. I call back LG and told them about the misleading information on their website. 850.00 on a 4 years old refrigerator I can get a new and better brand for 1300.00. I hate LG.

I am updating my review to state that I contacted LG by email thru their website, asking if there are any snap in times to utilize the bottom rack more efficiently and keep smaller items from falling through. I have not received any response from LG, and on reading similar reviews on the other brands I had contemplated, I would just be costing myself more money for the same issues, plus another installation fee since. At least I purchased this dishwasher on a good sale. Sadly I concede and no longer will enjoy the challenge of easily cramming three days of dishes and miscellaneous items into my dishwasher.

Updated on 08/23/2019: Hi this is third review about the same issue I have been having for 6 months in that LG is not fixing the brand new refrigerator that only worked for two weeks. I have been trying for 6 months for someone to show up to fix it. They then sent me an email a month ago saying they would call me to arrange a time to replace it. They didnt call. Another technician was scheduled to come. This would be the 19th appointment I have had with them and none they have shown up to. I just received another text saying that my appointment is cancelled and LG are doing absolutely nothing to honor my warranty with them in rectifying the situation. I can not say enough to never buy anything from LG.Updated on 08/14/2019: 2nd time I am writing about useless LG. I bought a brand new refrigerator. It broke after two weeks of owning it. 6 months has passed. They use A&E Factory as technicians. A&E have cancelled on me 17 times leaving me to wait at home for them and then either not calling at all or they text 30 mins before the end time. LG contacted me after I wrote my first bad review saying they would replace it. This was a month ago and now they have disappeared. Do not buy LG, the product breaks; the company is dishonest, they do nothing to help, they lie and do not follow the warranty. I am still stuck with a broken fridge with no help whatsoever. I never write reviews. I am so upset and angry about this situation I had to write this so no one else goes through what I am right now. I am utterly stranded and at the mercy of the technicians never showing up and LG doing nothing to rectify the situation. Absolutely disgusting.Original Review: Your freezer broke within two weeks of me owning the refrigerator. I have been waiting 12 weeks for someone to come and fix it. Your service provider in my area has cancelled and not shown up to any of the appointments that have been set. I will never ever ever buy an LG product ever again and I am telling every single person I know and all those that follow me on social media, on Yelp and Google and all sites to share my advice of never buying any LG products. I am disgusted with your company and disgusted I have been offered no compensation for this situation.

I had a kitchen aid dishwasher for 15 years with no problem. Updated my appliances and got a high end LG dishwasher. It is so disappointing. Bottom rack keeps falling off the track. Dishes dont get clean - have to prewash dishes. Silverware container keeps falling apart. Worst of all - after 1 /1/2 years it has stopped draining. $200 for a technician to come out. I feel violated. I thought I was buying a good brand and it is a piece of **.

LRG 3081ST gas stove - My first problem was that Best Buy never warned me that to convert this stove to propane was going to cost close to $300.00. The next problem was as soon as I started to use the product, the fan in the convection oven does not work most of the time, the controls are very difficult to use and very confusing, one of the burners does not work! After contacting Best Buy they told me I had to call LG, which I did. After many tries and disconnected calls I finally reached a person and he reluctantly set up an appointment with a local repair shop, and although she agreed the fan should work better but after calling LG they said it was normal and there was nothing she could do. But they did agree it probably should have a new burner but that is still on order. The stove is basically a cheap POS. I would not recommend anyone to buy this model.

We had a kitchen remodel in November 2009, we purchased all LG appliances. My LG convection oven has been serviced 3 times for the same exact problem. Error: F-9, the thermostat will not heat the oven. Obviously there is a problem with the oven and it should be replaced. The model cost over $1800.00, and I thought that LG stood behind their product. The oven (wall unit) is just 2 years old. I also have an LG dishwasher, which was serviced because the motor went out the first year.

DANGEROUS product with flimsy knobs that could start a fire. Died in only a couple of years after using and following maintenance instructions provided from LG. Rude customer service and Repair technicians. No help from extended warranty and no proof shown to us that backed their findings. Buyer beware if you have small children or pets, the bottom oven door easily opens and could be tripped or pulled down while on or off. Knobs, logos and Black Stainless Steel peeled, faded and discolored after the first few months (also denied to fix or replace because they claimed wear and tear.)My Experience. We purchased our dual oven from Best Buy a few years ago and instantly had problems. The stove would turn on just from barely bumping the nobs and melted anything close to it. (Like bringing in groceries and the bag and food sitting to close.) Then after a few months the black stainless started to peel off and the knobs started to turn a goldish color and the wording was gone. The LG logo fell off as well... After contacting Best Buy where we had a purchased a 5 year extended warranty they gave us the runaround about wear and tear.We bought this oven because we wanted a oven that we could easily clean. I am disabled and was the primary caregiver for my mother who was on a transplant list and was in and out of the hospital. I watched reviews and saw the options for self cleaning and easy clean. Which I had to have because I didnt have the mobility or strength to put hours into scrubbing a oven clean. My mother and I both take immuno suppression medications for our different health problems and keeping the kitchen clean and sanitized is extremely important....The cleaning features were downright worthless. I followed the cleaning instructions and still had to get down and scrub and clean the oven until my knees were bruised.Fast forward to a few weeks ago. I noticed when I would cook the stove top wasnt heating up near as fast as it used to and the oven was only half baking the food. (I would have to rotate the food because the front part of the oven wasnt evenly cooking the food.) About a week after I noticed the problems with the oven it died. Only thing working was the clock...I went into Best Buy to get my receipt reprinted with my warranty information and called and scheduled a repair request and someone came out and inspected the oven. The man from LG took the whole oven apart and very rudely told us they werent going to warranty the oven. When we asked why he started heading toward the door and said someone would be calling us in a minute. My mom asked him why he couldnt explain and show us the issue. He stopped because I think he was expecting the person from the warranty place to call us immediately and came back to the kitchen. He told us our oven was filthy and the fan inside the oven was seized up from all the grease and the motors were blown...We asked him how that could happen and he said its because we didnt follow the cleaning instructions and abused it.... He said grease and food got into the fans and couldnt show us how the food got to where he was saying the fans were located. He made us feel and look like slobs. I pulled out the bottle that came with the oven for cleaning and the items I used to clean and care for the oven and he said we didnt clean the fans.... Where does it say I have to disassemble the oven to get to the fans that are built into the roof of the top and bottom ovens? He said the range had food falling into it from the cracks.... There are no cracks on my stove top, the seals are still sealed and theres no way food would ever fall into it from the top....We spent $1700.00 for a oven that was supposed to be the best dual oven on the market, and would look brand new because it was smudge proof, easy to clean and would last forever. We have had nothing but problems and now we have $1700.00 sitting in our foyer because we have no clue what to do. We had to get a cheap oven from Rent a Center because we cant afford a replacement. We have been waiting to get a call back about the second opinion they were supposed to send out to look the oven over again. And they never showed or returned our calls.Worst experience Ive had with a brand and after talking to others about how dangerous the oven is because of the knobs and the poor quality of the fake stainless steel and the undisclosed cleaning instructions LGs technician said we didnt follow. I will never recommend another product from LG and will make sure everyone knows of how I was treated.

I purchased an LG washer and dryer several years ago. I absolutely hate them, but they cost a small fortune, so I am not ready to buy new ones. Here are my complaints: my clothes never get cleaned; it doesnt use enough water to get them cleaned! They always have a mildew smell. Now my detergent draw will not open. It is stuck for about a month, but it would eventually open. From all the complaints I have been reading, why has the Better Business Bureau (BBB) not gotten involved? My sister bought an LG refrigerator, and she also had multiple problems with it! I will not be buying another LG product!

The knobs were cracked and broken and we were unable to turn the gas all the way off. The repairman said he smelled gas when he entered my house. He ordered three new knobs. I then called LG at 800-243-0000 and told them that I had just read all the complaints about the range knobs, and how upset I am to learn that LG was doing nothing about the problem. I was then told that LG has a new replacement knob that they will send me free of charge. Five new knobs. No charge. I then asked why they were not notifying their consumers. No answer. I hope this will help someone else.

I bought one of LGs “French door” models in July 2014. The compressor has already gone out. Initially, I really liked the unit, with the exception that the ice maker in the door did not stay cold enough and the ice melts together and has to be thrown out every few days. I was willing to overlook this because the rest of the refrigerator worked great. Produce stays fresh for several weeks.I am giving this refrigerator and LG 1 star mostly because of the service, which is almost non-existent. I wish I could give it 0 stars. I knew that the compressor was out because I woke up one morning and both the refrigerator and freezer were warm, even though the lights and water dispenser were still working and I could not hear the compressor. I tried to “diagnose” the issue so I could let the LG representative know, but it would not give me a reading. The ability to use your smartphone to diagnose issues was one of the selling points of this refrigerator. However, I had to wait two weeks (including over Labor Day weekend) just to have someone come to confirm that the compressor was the issue. The service person opened the refrigerator and used his own phone to determine that the compressor was out. I had to pay him the $100.00 trip fee for him to do something that I should have been able to do. Then I had to wait another 8 days for them to order the parts and come back to install the new compressor. The day before the second appointment, they called to confirm that all of the parts had arrived, but only 2 of the 3 parts had come. They told me they were cancelling the appointment and rescheduling it for another week out. I had to demand that they keep the appointment and I tracked down the missing part myself and picked it up at UPS. Finally, the technician came to replace the compressor yesterday, and I immediately knew something was wrong because it made a loud vibrating noise that has not stopped, which began as soon as he left. I called him and left a message but didn’t get a callback. He had indicated that it would take until this morning to cool down enough for food storage. I decided to wait it out and see if the noise would stop. Not only did the noise not stop, but the refrigerator and freezer are still warmer than the inside of my home.I now get to wait another 5 days for them to come back to re-check the refrigerator. I do not have a second refrigerator, so I am living out of a dorm-size refrigerator and buying ice at the gas station. My interactions with LG and A & E Service have been so negative and their service has been so slow that I have decided to use a different brand of appliances in a new home that is under construction. I will never buy another LG product again.

I purchased this fridge 2 years ago; it had good reviews and I was assured by the 10 yr compressor warranty. Turns out that you are just buying an ongoing problem! How can LG sell a known defective product? The refrigerator we replaced worked well for 27 years. Our warranty was voided because we tried to have it fixed first by a non-accredited LG tech, but it is the compressor that went out and LG has abandoned us in a technicality. And if we had it repaired, in all likelihood it would go out again in 2 years. I love the design and look, but not worth the $3k problem. After reading multiple reviews, seems that LG knowingly continues to put out a defective product. Shame on you LG!

I bought an LG dryer two years ago. Model DLEX3570W. I have no problems with the dryer doing what its supposed to do -- dry my damn clothes. It does that job just fine. But after every load, I have to use a wet paper towel to wipe off the rubber gasket on the door because lint collects on it. This is a total pain in the butt and it isnt normal dryer behavior. So today I called the customer service number and spoke with a gentleman (very difficult to understand) who told me that this is normal and there is nothing I can do about it. Huh? Really? He has talked to LG tech engineers three or four times and they have sent the new parts three times to repair the unit. However, it still prompted an error message. They now tell us that it is all they can do for us. They offered us $74 for the trouble. I told them I am willing to pay for the repair cost just to fix it. They have manufactured these unit with manufacturing problems and they are not standing behind their product. If it is not repairable due to an engineering error, I should be entitled to a discounted cost for purchasing a new unit.

In 2006, my husband and I purchased all new LG appliances from Home Depot and paid for the 4-year extended warranty. We have the WM2077CW washing machine, LFX25960ST French Door Refrigerator, DLG3788W Dryer, LDF6810ST Dishwasher and LRG30355ST Gas Range. We have had problems with every single appliance, have had the extended warranty repairs done on each one, and continue to have problems. The latest is the washer has stopped draining and the drain pump motor is broken. Our warranty expired on 14 Apr 11 and both Home Depot and LG will do nothing. The refrigerator is now leaking water all over our kitchen floor, and the knobs on the gas stove are cracked again--they have been replaced twice already! Please do not purchase anything from LG! I know we should have been worried when the washer broke the first week we got it home, the dishwasher leaked and the refrigerator water dispenser has never worked properly, even after multiple service calls. Even the extended warranty hasnt saved us from having to replace parts that arent covered. I wish we never bought LG, and Home Depot hasnt stood behind them.

My compressor failed while my family and I were out of town recently. We lost everything that was in the freezer section and also everything on the refrigerator side of the unit. The process of getting the compressor fixed through warranty services was extremely easy. It was fixed within a week. But, I had estimated to the LG customer service rep that I had lost between 250-300 dollars in meat and fish that I had in the freezer along with all of the contents of the refrigerator side. LG sent me a check for 150.00 which helped with the loss but did not replace everything that was lost from the compressor failure. So, I was displeased in the fact that I had to replace what was lost even though it was not my fault and LG should have replaced the contents completely. Richard

LG now is paying for this 5th call. Today, the tech today simply wants to replace it again. Of course he didnt have any parts on hand even though LG assured me he would so I wouldnt have to wait for parts and miss more work for the tech to come back. The ice maker design is defective. There are many complaints online and there have been lawsuits about their refrigerators. LG refuses to refund the purchase price of the fridge or replace it. I should have known better than to purchase a refrigerator from Sears because of past experiences. On two prior occasions, (two different refrigerators) we had Sears technicians tell us that our units could not be repaired. So, in one case we purchased a new one from Sears but kept the old one. The old one was still running (5 years later), but the new one stopped cooling completely about three years ago. This time, we decided to live with the two partially operational units. The newer one has now stopped working, so we mistakenly purchased a new LG model from Sears, on Friday of September 2. Sears promised a delivery (for an extra $10) on Saturday of September 3. When we had not heard from sears by 4:30 on Saturday, I called their installation services. I was told that the item was not in stock--great. It was the Saturday before Labor Day, with food spoiling because the refrigerator was full of food.Ok, now I wanted to complain to someone at Sears, so I called their customer service (disservice?). After getting the runaround and being redirected to three other numbers (with 10 minute delays before connections), I found someone who could help. This helpful person told me that the unit was in-stock, but they were waiting for American Express approval for my purchase. I let them know that American Express has never (since 1964) delayed approval of my purchases and that I felt they were lying. I was told to call American Express. I told her that I wanted to speak to someone who actually knew what was going on, and the line went dead. I did call American Express; I was told that the purchase had been approved on Friday, so Sears customer service has more than one liar on their staff. Judging from all the other complaints about Sears, I wonder why there has not been more publicity to protect the public from this deceitful company, so much for customer service.

When we purchased the WT5101HW Washing machine we did so because my Maytag Neptune machine (Which contributed to Maytag going bankrupt) had to be replaced. I had thought LG would be a great experience, I was wrong. Initially the machine worked well and was efficient as expected, however that did not last. My wife noted that the clothes would smell musty and the machine took a long time to finish. We cleaned the machine monthly and left the lid up when not in use and put up with the lackluster performance. Last year things became decidedly worse when frequent UE errors began to appear and the machine would fill with water to almost the top. When I contacted LG an appointment was set for a technician to repair the machine. The first visit was a software update. No effect. The 2nd visit the Stator Assembly and Rotor Assembly were replaced. No effect. The third visit the Housing Assembly, Clutch Coupling, Stator Assembly, Rotor Assembly and Pulsator Assembly were replaced. Issues persists. The fourth visit the PCB Assembly, Display was replaced at which point the service rep indicated that just about everything replaceable was replaced. The machine appeared to work ok for a short while, however still using excess quantities of water and sounding like a helicopter landing when in spin cycle. The UE errors persist. We lived with this a while and then my wife mentioned our water bill has about tripled ever since the repairs. On contacting LG again I was told they would be happy to send at our cost a service technician and that the machine was now too far out of warranty for any other recourse. The original issue was never resolved and persists.I can no longer in good conscience recommend any LG Washing Machine. I have multiple short videos on my phone of the machine filling with water in attempt to balance and with the UE flashing in the background. There is no True balance as advertised and if high efficiency means using more water and being prone to developing black mold then the machine is highly efficient, just not in cleaning, conserving water or energy.

We purchased this washer from Lowes late June 2015. I could not believe this washer was doing such a poor job and tried different things to make it work: smaller loads, bigger loads, use of different programs, temperatures, detergents, use of Laundry+System, loading in a way that would leave an empty space above the core of the machine... By the time I was finished trying anything I could think of, the 30 days I had to return the washer were gone and I had to keep this totally inefficient machine. This item has been nothing but a perpetual frustration. It rinses clothes with soap, it does not wash. We have two little ones and any food or material sticking to fabric turns in a wet gooey texture that get intertwined in the fabric, becomes very hard once dried and impossible to remove. Adult clothes are not washed better. I never had such bad whites, even using chlorine. I regret having purchased this machine. I regret even more having tried to make it work. With 4 to 6 loads a week, its a permanent frustration.

Bought the LG washer from Lowes and for a few days it worked OK. It then started to vibrate across the floor in our laundry room. We called LG and they sent out a repairman and repaired the washer. It worked for about two loads and then vibrated again. Two different companies came out 4 more times to repair it over the next 3 months. None of those times did they fix the unit. After the 5th time the washer vibrated and flooded out laundry room. We called up LG again and they said they would issue a full refund. The next day we went out and bought a Maytag washer with zero issue so far. To get the refund LG gave us a case number and a link to upload our proof of purchase. After not hearing from them for a month we called them up and said they have no record of them saying we would get a refund. Their customer service is a joke. They claim they have no record of 3 of the repairs and no record of saying they would refund the money for a lemon washer. I will never buy an LG product ever again and will let all my friend know that they should stay away also. We are out $800 for a washer that never worked from day one.

The good part about LG is that they do try to present a customer service initiative to folks who post on social media. Sadly, it is a hollow effort. As anyone can read on this site, the response is either a really poor AI or worse, a person who types the same thing. Buying a $2,000+ refrigerator that makes excessive noise is unarguably a significant issue. LG claims this noise is normal, and I dispute that. Compressor noise that can be heard in other rooms is not normal. While LG did send a technician out to assess this issue, that was inconclusive, and the best LG can offer is to send another one out. But if the noise - the worst Ive experienced with any refrigerator for decades - is considered normal, why bother. When buying an LG refrigerator, be sure to buy the retailers extended warranty that allows a return after 3 (or whatever) attempts to repair.

We bought our LG refrigerator 3 years ago and were so excited to make such a big purchase. We shopped around and loved the features of the one we picked. After just 2 years, we had the compressor go out on it. We were frustrated but weren’t too upset because things break and we had a warranty. Fast forward to less than a year later and we have been forced to function out of ice chests in our living room because the compressor went out again. After doing more research I found that this is an issue many others are having. I am beyond upset. I have lost around $500 in food over the 2 incidents and already spent around $100 in ice to keep what food we have cold. This is absolutely unacceptable when you pay over $2500 for an appliance. My husband’s friend has the same fridge for less time than us and already had to replace his compressor. I will never own another LG appliance again knowing that they are fully aware of these compressor issues yet still produce and sell these appliances.

My three year old washer is being consumed with rust. We are not careless and try hard to never splatter the chlorine. At the rate of corrosion there is no way the frame can last long enough to cover the 10 year warranty. Thinking this was surely a defect considering the $899 price tag, I called LG Customer Service. They are not located in the U.S.A. They then told me there is no warranty on the washer housing and began schooling me on being careful when adding the Clorox because it is very corrosive. Really? One would think the LG engineers would realize that when designing the washer. Now we have mechanical issues and are in need of other repairs. NOTE. LG is not American made. We purchased the LG Smart Drum thinking this was a great investment. It was the worst decision we made. It takes hours to wash one load. It constantly errors with UE no matter what load is in there. Even during the clean tub cycle where they recommend nothing in the washer. We have to constantly reload heavy wet clothes to rebalance eventually have to go directly to the spin cycle and shutting off the water just to get it over with. I am lucky to get two loads of laundry done in one whole damn day.I cant get anything else accomplished because I am babysitting a damn washer. It has caused so much frustration among our entire family because no one can get their laundry done and over in a reasonable amount of time. I am going out this weekend and buying a new washer. It wont be a LG thats for sure. From all the other reviews it appears the washer is a lemon and LG knows it but they dont care. Also, the app they say you can get is not available either. We needed a new refrigerator to replace one weve had for a number of years.
We needed a new refrigerator to replace one weve had for a number of years. It was just fine but getting old. I was very attracted by the fabulous design of the new model of the LG. It had the features that I was looking for and I was very happy to find it. But we got a lemon from them. Weve bought two from Home Depot because we live in Hawaii and out in the country a bit. Were also far from major stores, so we buy quite a bulk then go once a month or so to the store. Out where we live, everybody has at least two refrigerators. The design features of the products are wonderful but right after the holidays, the second one that we got from LG that my husband and I mostly use overflowed in the kitchen. Also, it would cool then it wouldnt. My husband had some ice cream bars in the freezer part and they were melting. Hes an engineer and he had been always able to figure out anything and take care of it. But in this case, it wouldnt hold because its electronic and you have to have the part. So we called LG and they had nobody out here to repair it. Theyd have to go to Honolulu, back and forth, and we got very frustrated with that because the refrigerator would start then it would stop continuously. So, we finally called the local repairman who is known all over the area here and the first words out of his mouth were that they dont touch LG. I asked why and he said it was because they get no support. So, back we were to the LG number available to us, which is out in the Philippines. Thank heavens it was in the Philippines and not India, because the Philippines serviced us very well as they could at their point and tried to help us. They suggested this and that and were very courteous. But we fiddled with this and that and nothing worked out of the things that they were recommending. Finally, they started referring me to the home office in Alabama and I got shunted around from one extension to another. Then in March, they were telling me that they got somebody here on the island that could help us. So the person came out and said that he had to order this and that part from Honolulu. That went on for a week then he came back and did nothing. The parts didnt come and they gave me one excuse after another. In the meantime, the refrigerator is completely dead as well as the icemaker. LGs reps didnt appear again and we had more calls back and forth. After that, another person came out and said that he was gonna order something. But he ended up in an auto accident and I got the report that he was injured and that they had to get somebody else. We went back and forth again for this on May and we were into the fifth month at the time. The darn thing cost me $3,000 and I was getting frustrated. Then I was hooked up again via the Philippines, routed again back to Alabama, and then I was telling them again what was happening and what they gotta do. Then this secretary who was out in the front shielding the calls in the office told me again that I had to talk to customer service for that. So, I slammed the phone down and called the attorney. Bottom line, we got no satisfaction and they were not fully prepared to handle and accommodate the product out where they are selling it. The right and the left hand arent getting together sufficiently. I was beside myself because I was caught in the middle. I was listening to my husband who was fit to be tied and mad and an engineer who expects things to be processed properly and wanted the details taken care of. He was all over my back to get some results and I was trying to get results from LG but getting nowhere. We were in town on Tuesday and we decided to swing in to Lowes and see what they have because we were gonna buy a refrigerator to replace that one. I talked to the Sears island repairman who now deals with all different brands, except LG, and asked him what he would recommend and what brands he repairs. I was ready to have only a very economic and simple model for this second backup refrigerator. Im also hoping the LG that I have in the kitchen doesnt poop out on me after all the extra loading from everything we lost in the other refrigerator. So, I found a basic model from Lowes that they will attach an ice maker to, which is the number one thing for my husband. And they’ll have it delivered then the Sears man will service it. It was easily and simple, and cost about 1/3 of the price of the LG. I will never buy an LG again.

On July 3, 2015 the unit started sparking and smoking and then flames started shooting inside the unit. 4 months old and LG thinks it might be repairable. I dont want that unit in my house. I have spend several hours cumulatively on the phone trying to get a new unit. The unit only cost $200, yet they have sent repair people to my home. The cost of the repair time has exceeded the cost of goods and out of frustration, LG has created a consumer that will never buy another LG product. The poor Customer Service Reps must hate their job. They are not empowered to really help the consumer. It seems to me that LG has a lot to learn about customer satisfaction.

While we were impressed with this refrigerator with its Converta drawer and smart styling inside and out, we have been nothing but disappointed in the quality of this product. Extremely disappointed in the product and the customer service. We purchased this fridge in April/11 and it was delivered in June/11. In July/11, the Converta drawer stopped working and as the fridge was under store warranty. It was replaced with a second fridge same model, in Sept/11. Two weeks after delivery, the freezer drawer on this fridge malfunctioned causing it to open and immediately close without remaining open to remove food items. (Freezer drawer opens when a button is pushed). This fridge was returned and in Oct/11, we received our third fridge of this model. Since Oct/11, this fridge is awaiting its fourth compressor, in 2.5 years. We have been without a fully functioning fridge for most of the lifespan of this fridge. Repair people are unfamiliar with the technology in this fridge, however according to the Sears technicians in conjunction with the LG technicians this fridge is repairable. My question is why does this this fridge always require a compressor annually? Fortunately we purchased an extended warranty on this appliance because I am told the replacement cost of the compressor is approximately $1000.00 plus applicable charges, tax, labor, etc. I regret this purchase immensely mostly because when the warranty expires in 1.5 years, this fridge will be in a landfill site somewhere, sadly.

It is a basic fridge with no special features: comes standard ice maker. It has the side by side freezer and cooler which is nice in its self. First of all, these products need to be simplified on the manufacturing to save the environment. I dislike the fact that I did not get any cool features, I do have a basic model. I wanted a smart fridge, but you have to make a ton of money in order to afford one decent feature. I dislike the fact that certain features do not come as standard. I initially chose this product due to the price and not the features. In 2019, they should really have standard luxury features. None of these companies really care about the customer, its all about a profit.

Bought 11/18/12, this will be my third repair. The first was the ice-maker which was replaced at no charge - that was 11/14 - 2 years after purchase. The second was the fan which was making such a loud noise that I could hear it in the other room. That was repaired 2/15 and I had to pay for it. Now the fan did the same thing - a horrendous noise, and now my refrigerator button reads ER and my freezer, RF. I spoke with LG Cust. Service who told me I would have to pay for the repair; next I asked for a supervisor and they eventually connected me with an executive agent. I waited on the line for 15 minutes before anyone picked up. She told me if I faxed her my receipt, they would pay for the repair. My telling her that this refrigerator was 2 years 8 months old made no difference. When I faxed over the receipt, I called them to make sure they had it and someone else set up an appointment, after much trying - since it was the Thursday before July 4th, for repair on Tuesday July 7. I received a phone call today that the company cant make it on Tuesday, now its Thursday. I have lost most of my food and I have had it. This product is garbage and no one should sell it. I will tell EVERYONE I know never to buy anything that is LG.

We bought a new LG fridge in August 2017... Yesterday Jan.21 2020 (2 1/2 years) the fridge and freezer quit working. I called the LG 1-800 to do a remote Smart Diagnose but none of their agents could get their receiver to work in order to do this. They told me to call the one warranty dealer in my city as I found out today that all the other warranty dealers dropped both LG and Samsung for both warranty and non-warranty works as their products and service are horrible. So the only warranty place said they would not come out and I had to bring in my fridge but they suggested based on what I told them was happening that they would spend $500 plus to maybe still not be able to fix it and to go buy a new one…. LG warranty is on parts only and the guys said its never the parts that are expensive. It is the problem solving time and labor that costs. It turns out they would rather build a product that uses less power for energy savings but the compressors etc fail in short time 2 to 6 years.. Great….

We called appliance repairs only to find out that the compressor cannot be replaced because LG stopped making those compressors!! We called many appliance repair places all with the same result! This is ridiculous and It only lasted 1/2 the life they boast and advertise!!?? False advertising!!

LG Gas stove - bought this year - I just walked into the kitchen and smelled gas. This is the fourth time this has happened. I didnt use the stove today, so someone must have accidentally brushed against the stove and slightly turned the knob. There is no safety apparatus to alert you to the knob turning or that gas is leaking (stove doesnt automatically light). I cant believe in this day and age that this appliance passed any safety inspections. Thank goodness I dont have any small children, Id get this stove out of the house immediately. As it is, I frequently go into the kitchen just to verify that none of the stove knobs are turned, I am now paranoid we are going to blow up...

I was so glad to add a new stylish refrigerator to my kitchen. Counter depth, window that lets you see inside the fridge, an extra door to open for just drinks. AWESOME! I told my friends, they were glad I updated my kitchen. Well none of them want to hear about how much LG is a terrible product. I had a refrigerator delivered and it did not work properly, had a second delivered, and it was malfunctioning, took two days off work to it serviced and it still does not work. The customer service is horrible. They know how say, That is not our protocol. Instead of LG, buy a cooler and ice. Your food will stay fresher.

I just used my A/C for a week. I heard a loud noise coming from outside and smelled electrical burning. I turned it off and tried it again - loud noise from outside the unit and burning smell. I turned the unit off. I was scared the unit was going to catch my house on fire. I called LG to have them service it. I already had the date and time and company they were sending. Then the customer service guy informed me the warranty had already expired 6 days ago. Really! This company could not honor it - after buying a refrigerator and stove from them. I am really disappointed with them. Let’s see if I buy another product from LG or even recommend them to my family are friends.

My LG washing machine stopped working after 3 months! It is not able to complete a spin cycle and does not drain, leaving mildewy water sitting at the bottom on the washer. We called for an LG repair man who arrived at our home 3 days later. He walked in and pressed a few buttons then charged me $150 before leaving and doing nothing! The machine is still under warranty, yet, whenever we try to call them to actually fix the ** thing they inform us they will be charging us more. I do not understand why LG has a warranty system going, if they are going to charge us for a problem that we have not caused. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing anything with the initials LG from now on, and will do my best to persuade others to do the same. This companys ethics are deplorable. They replaced something in it and it wasnt even two weeks later when the same issue happened again. Shortly after that the LG dryer stopped producing heat. This was the FIX that LG told Sears would solve the problem. Its now 4 months after the |fix and the problem is back!. Updated on 06/24/2021: A lot has happened behind the scenes since I made the first post. LG stepped in and offered to set the situation right, so I gave them the opportunity to do so. As you will read here, not only did they fail to make things right, they ended up making it worse. I warn you now, it is not a short read. March 30-Must have gotten someone’s attention. An unidentified person (this is a trend) PMed me via Consumer Affairs (CA) and offered to address the situation. They asked for some info, including billing address for the original purchase. I gave info and waited.April 2- Offer to repair machine at their expense is forwarded to me through CA by an unidentified person. I agree to offer. Sometime after this point, LG orders 2 replacement parts, a new main control board and a display board. I am not sure why the control board was ordered, as it was obvious the display board was the problem. The display board is the problem on every one of these machines.April 6-I get a notification by text from a random number (never identified) informing me that I recently scheduled service for my machine to be performed on April 8. Only problem is, I didn’t schedule service. Someone from LG (never identified) took it upon themselves to schedule this service without consulting me as to whether this was an acceptable time. The text number this was sent from could not receive return calls or texts, and no contact information was available to reach out about this scheduled appointment. After some digging around on the LG site, I figured out that the service was indeed scheduled, and also found out at this time that the above-mentioned parts had been ordered (one part was on backorder) and shipped to the billing address I originally gave on CA. Only problem with this is that the machine is not at the billing address, therefore both the parts and the service tech were heading to the wrong address. If someone had contacted me when the appointment was made, I could have given the correct address. If some useable contact information was made available to me, or if anyone in this process so far had identified themselves, I could have shared the situation with the incorrect address. But none of those things had happened. I share this latest update with the unidentified PM contact on CA.April 7- A box arrives from LG. I open it to find a new control board. Not the display (the part that is actually broken) but the other random part. Turns out that the display board is on national backorder. Not surprising since the OEM display boards have a 100% failure rate. With every single unit of this model needing this part replaced, demand is clearly high.April 8-Tech Visit #1. The service technician calls me to tell me he is 10 minutes away. I then tell him that he is 10 minutes away from the wrong address. He finally gets to the machine (I was able to be there), swaps out the mainboard, figures out mainboard is not the problem. I knew this already. So did the tech before even doing the job. Once he determined the main board was not the problem, he swapped the original board back into the machine and left, planning to return when the display board arrived. Since the mainboard did not appear bad, he returned the new mainboard to LG. This would prove to be a regretful decision.April 13- New display board arrives. I contact service tech and he schedules the next day to come install it. April 14-Tech shows up for Visit #2 (the fact I am giving numerical designations to tech visits should tell you something) and installs display board. I am not at the house this time, or much of the remaining catastrophe would likely have been avoided. According to my wife, he swapped out the board, hit the power button to see it power up, packed up his stuff and left. He did no function check or system diagnosis whatsoever, just looked for the lights to power up. He also went into the LG service system and reported the repair job complete. It was not, and the fact that he did report it as such would create problems down the road. After tech leaves, wife loads machine and tries to run it. After about a minute, it shut down and gave an error code indicating no water flow. I get home and check water supply to make sure that we didn’t have that turned off. I will also mention at this time that I have degrees in both electronic and mechanical engineering, and have been working as a design engineer and troubleshooting technician for electro-mechanical systems over 30 years. So I was able to deduce that we had sufficient water flow, but the electric water valve in the machine was not turning on. I contacted the tech, and he informed me he would come by the next day and check it out.April 15- Tech comes back for Visit #3. During this visit I learned the tech was a refrigeration expert, and had limited experience with dishwashers. He was competent, just not that experienced with LG dishwashers. He figures out that he had plugged something together incorrectly. I am not clear whether this mistake was made during Visit #1 and the incorrect connection was made at the mainboard, or during Visit #2 and the incorrect connection was made at the display board. I suspect it was #1 and the problem was at the mainboard because one of the connectors he attached incorrectly was to the main water valve, thus the valve did not work, as I had identified. Wherever the problem, he swapped the connectors around, ran a diagnostic, declared it good, and left again. When we powered up the machine I could hear the water valve now working, but after about a minute, the same error code and shutdown occurred.April 15 Part 2-The tech comes back that night for Visit #4 (told you we needed numbering). I am there, and we spend quite a bit of time checking out the machine. I teach him a few things about how the systems operate, and using some of my electronic testing equipment we figure out that the system is not seeing a signal from the water flow sensor. Hoping sensor might be bad, the tech ordered a replacement sensor.April 20-Tech got part, and stops by for Visit #5. Flow sensor not the problem. He spends over 2 hours of troubleshooting, including 2 calls to the service center for technical support. They go through everything, including checking the wiring harness. Nothing bad with wiring, but the mainboard is not supplying power to the sensor. It was never admitted to me, but I will bet a month’s pay that when he incorrectly connected the plugs in Visit #1 or #2, the sensor power supply on the mainboard was damaged. If he had not already sent back the new mainboard (remember I said this would be a regretful decision?) he could have swapped in the new board and likely fixed the problem. But he didn’t have the parts, and he was eventually told by the Service Center to stop attempting repair and RMA the machine.April 21- An unidentified person contacted me by text to inform me that the Alternate Resolution claim was started. But I should be prepared for it to be denied because the computer system says that all parts are functional. Remember the tech incorrectly reporting the machine repaired after Visit #2? An explanation by myself containing actual factual information and logic did nothing to change the response.April 23- I receive a phone call from LG asking about how I rated the service I had received in early April. Because the tech had reported he completed the repair, the gentleman calling me had no idea the job was botched, and he wanted to know how I rated my service experience on my freshly-repaired and perfectly-operating LG dishwasher. I don’t think he was very fond of my answers.May 1- Received voice mail from someone at LG telling me I was to be offered a bit over $500 for my permanently broken $1k machine. It further instructed me to contact Shakiah M about payout. May 5-When I talk to Shakiah, I’m told the actual number offered is even less. After several back and forth discussions on both text message and email, I agree to accept the offer, as long as there is no legally-binding contract included. I am assured there is not.Side note: It’s bad enough that almost no one from LG ever identifies themselves, but I am even more amazed by the amount of correspondence throughout this process done by text message on a cell phone. Is this what we call professional corporate behavior in 2021? Text messages? What are we, high-schoolers? May 28- Finally get a written offer. And that assurance there is no legally-binding component to the offer? Not true. I must waive off all rights to pursue further action if I accept this offer.Let’s recap: I started this process with a top-shelf machine with a single defective part. A $200 replacement part and 15 minutes of effort to install this part would have fixed my machine. But thanks to the mistake made by the service tech, I now have a junk machine. And what is the offer from LG after three months of hassle to fix all of this? Half what it will cost to replace it. Now I have a choice. LG is so in breach of contract here (not the warranty, BTW) that I will almost assuredly win in court. But small claims court is a hassle. I have tried to give LG the opportunity to make this right, and they continue to fail me, and will no longer even respond to me.30 day deadline to accept offer is June 27, three days from now. If LG really wants to make this right, then they need to do something better than half replacement cost for a machine THEY BROKE. If not, looks like I will see them in court. And I won’t be suing for just the cost of the machine. Punitive damages will be added on as well, and I have high confidence in my case and my ability to present it. I have been an expert witness in court proceedings several times, so court does not faze me. I don’t want the hassle of it, but I won’t be treated as a pushover either. This is LG’s mistake, LG needs to fix it with a reasonable offer.Original Review: We bought an LG LDP6797BD dishwasher in 2018, with the intentions of putting it in our house being remodeled. We used it in our rental home for about 8-10 months before removing it from service and putting it in storage. It never got installed in the house, so after sitting for 2 years, we pulled it out of storage and put it in another rental property where it has worked flawlessly for 5 months. Now after a total service life of 13-15 months, we walk in the kitchen one day to find it dead. Wont power up, wont light up, wont reset. Looking at a few videos, I picked up a line filter. Not the problem. In fact, once I had it apart to change the line filter, I could see the red LED lighting on the board. So clearly it has power. Then after some more research, I find the web full of similar complaints. The number of purchasers with failures occurring, conveniently almost immediately after the end of their one-year warranty, is simply staggering. The Amazon listing for this dishwasher has 100% 1-Star ratings. Let that sink in. 100% 1-star ratings, I have never seen that on ANYTHING in my life. And especially not on an item that costs $1000. This design clearly has a significant design flaw somewhere. The number of instances of identical failure occurring within a span of 12-16 months of service life is not a coincidence, and this statement is coming from a highly-experienced engineer with 3 decades of experience in design and manufacture of electro-mechanical systems. I know better than to believe that any manufacturer can take products to market and NEVER make a mistake in the design cycle. But what that manufacturer chooses to do about it when mistakes happen is what defines a company. This machine has a major design flaw, LG knows it, and apparently has chosen to do nothing about it. And I guess they have a right to not do anything about it. Well, I have a right to do something about it as well. If LG continues to leave customers like myself that spent quite a bit of money on a clearly defective product, then it will be the last of my money LG will ever see. And I will go out of my way, every chance I get, to encourage as many people as possible to also not ever spend THEIR money on an LG product. This is site number 2 for the day, I wonder how many more times I can tell this story before the weekend is over?If LG believes that not addressing this issue will save them money, I can assure you it will not. They will lose far more money from me alone than what it would cost them to make this right with me. Add to that lost revenue the amount of money they will lose with all the people I convince to not ever buy LG as well, and this will quickly become an expensive mistake many, many times over what it would take to fix it. If everyone else being screwed does the same, we can make a statement that LG simply will not be able to ignore. LG, the ball is in your court.

Our LG is a beautiful-looking appliance and for 2 years I enjoyed most everything except for the water leaking out of the bottom on to my maple floor. I called several times just to speak to someone who said I would have to call an authorized service tech (only they are located 100+ miles away and want a lot of money to come to see if it can be fixed). The ice would build up on the freezer floor, so every week I would remove everything from the freezer, remove the ice, and then the next week do it all over again. Then 3 weeks ago the refrigerator portion just quit cooling. (It will get to 58 degrees and that is it.) Now I put all my perishables in my 20 year old Frigidaire. Nobody wants to come fix the LG and customer service needs a lot of training on being customer service.I also have an LG phone for 1 month -- JUNK. I just want to say when I go buy another refrigerator it wont be LG and I will do a lot of research before I give any of my hard-earned money to another company. By the way, I did not get an extended warranty because my other refrigerator is 20 years old and still works great! Should have not gotten a new one. If I worked or owned LG I would hide my face. My daughter and I bought a house with new appliances, (LG) the refrigerator
My daughter and I bought a house with new appliances, (LG) the refrigerator worked for 9 months but it was three months old when we started using it. When it failed, we called LG and they said it is out of warranty, you can hire an independent technician or hire us to diagnose the appliance. We hired someone who said it had a defective piece from fabrication. We called back to LG, they said they will repair for $400 where they will include the defective piece. I paid ($400) and they sent their technician who came and in a 5 minutes visit he said he came just to learn what was the problem, he would be back (one month already in this process). The next days we received a phone call from LG saying they wouldnt repair it because someone already put their hands on it and that we can expect $200 hundred refund (from my $400 I just paid) because the visit costs $200.How sad, how unfair, with my daughter a young person struggling to pay her bills receiving a treatment like this one. Now she has been more than a month with no refrigerator, lost the money she paid for the first technician and again the same amount by having LG putting their hands into her account in such a way. Their only suggestion is to buy a new one. Can I expect a little of justice for my daughter? I m planning to write a letter to the CEO but I know the chances for him to never read it are higher that the opposite. I hope you can do something about it.

The most recent time I was on the phone 55 min until they told me it would now be 2-5 business days until someone in their service centre called the service provider to give the work order number. And apparently, this is expedited. This is not to mention yesterday, I could not even get through to customer service as their call centre was overloaded, and the recorded message just told me to call back another time. My case number is **. I have now given up, and have to pay for it myself as by the time this happens, it will be well over a week just to arrange a technician. They refuse to email me OR transfer me to the same agent. Getting a floor supervisor to speak to is close to impossible.

Would you board an airplane knowing that when its electronics fail, there is no way the passenger door can be unlocked? This is exactly how the WT5070CW LG washer is engineered. Ours died a mere 4 years (!!!) after purchase - its electronic controller died in the middle of a wash cycle and left the brain dead machine with its door locked, with no manual way to unlock it, holding hostage a full load of wet laundry which has been rotting there for ten days, exuding a horrible smell! And, to add insult to injury, here is what happened when we ordered the part from LG (via Sears Parts Direct, order number **) and paid extra for expedited 2-day shipment: after 4 days we were informed that LG has not shipped yet, no reason given (the part should directly from their warehouse to home) and there is no guarantee when it will arrive. This is LG engineering! This is LG customer service!

Clothes come out dirtier than when they go in! I have the problem that many others have: ashy-colored residue on black/dark clothing. Today, Im now getting ashy-colored stains on my white clothing. Ive not been able to figure out if this happens after washing dark clothes, white clothes, hot, cold, or ??? Ive not been able to discern out a pattern for it. So far, I cant avoid it. Ive read the reviews and LG comes back and asks for private messages instead of making solutions public. How do I contact LG so they can give me the washing experience they want me to receive?

I recently moved into a new house that came with 1 HE LG Washer & 1 HE LG Dryer (Model DLE2150S). When I saw it was an LG brand coming into the house, I knew that I would be in lots of trouble. Needless to say, a little over a month of moving in and our HE dryer now does not turn on. I looked the simple troubleshooting in the manuals and it did not work. I then turned to the worst customer service I have ever experienced.I called LG Canada. I got to this lady who then proceeded to ask me what was wrong. I informed her and she asked me if I have unplugged it. I told her yes I have and plugged it back in. She asked me Well, Maam, how long did you unplug it? and I replied (knowing most computers take 10 sec to reload) 10 seconds. She replied, Oh no Maam, you must unplug for 30 min at least. Well how the heck was I supposed to know? After you do that, then plug it back in to reset and if it still has trouble turning on, which I highly doubt it will, you must contact sellers warranty. Well needless to say, it still doesnt turn on. Thanks for your useless and crappy service LG!

My refrigerator is 6 years old. The ice maker needed to be replaced when it was six months old then the ice maker does not adequately produce enough ice. The door spring just broke two months ago. The drawer is broken. The plastic on the shelves have fallen off and the ice maker lever fell off a year ago. It is not a quality refrigerator for the price of $2200.00 made by LG. I also purchased the LG dishwasher at the same time and had to have service on it 5 times. It never cleaned the dishes very well and I tried to talk to customer service at LG and not only were they rude, the woman in customer service was threatening and nasty to me on the phone. I went two months at one time without a dishwasher when the dishwasher was fairly new. The customer service did not want to hear from me or help me in any way. This dishwasher cost $700. I had it for 5 years and had to get rid of it. Needless to say, I will never purchase LG appliances again.

I recently bought all new kitchen appliances. Ive only had them 3 months. The refrigerator fan was screeching day and night. Called and scheduled a warranty repair and they were supposed to arrive between 10am - 2pm on June 16th. Called back around 3 to ask if they were still coming and was told they would see where they were at and call us back. Still waiting on that repair. Hope nothing else breaks down. The worst experience ever not including the fact that we purchased all on Black Friday and they were not in stick or delivered until mid-Feb. LG, you just lost a couple of very loyal customers.

We purchased an LG refrigerator (model LSXS26326S) on April 28, 2016. It was delivered and installed on May 3, 2016. On July 30, 2018, it stopped working, ruining approximately $300.00 worth of food. We contacted the store of purchase (Home Depot), and were told because we did not purchase the extended warranty, we would have to pay for repairs. We then contacted LGs customer service line, and they directed us to a local LG authorized repair provider. They were going to charge $125.00 for a visit to assess the issue, and if the parts were covered by manufacturers warranty, they would charge an additional $250 for labor... If not, who knows what the charge would be. Now, I understand wear and tear and paying for repairs, but a lightly used refrigerator (mostly just my wife and I in the home), breaking down after just two years of use, seems like faulty craftsmanship. I then went on LGs website and chatted, first with a representative, then with a supervisor, both of whom seemed less interested in a quality product than with pushing their warranties (which would not be as needed with a sturdy product). The bottom line was, they are not responsible for their product breaking after only two years, and we were responsible for any repairs. After this experience, I went on consumeraffairs.com and read numerous complaints of a similar vein, $1,500 - $3,000 refrigerators breaking after only a couple of years, with no support from LG. I received no help from LG, so I contacted my local news stations consumer affairs department in hopes of bringing to light LGs poor product quality and non-existing customer service.

The door on the front of the machine is broken or is not sealed right, 4 different times in the last 5 years. Now, it is doing it again, both leaking water and not sealing. Now, there is no warranty. We purchased the LG gas range through Costco in October of 2017. Purchase through Costco extends the one year warranty to 2 years and using the Costco CitiCard for the purchase extends the warranty for two more years. We began having problems with the range in 2018. When we would turn the oven on we thought there was a smell of propane - this gradually became worse and worse. We noticed it a great deal when attempting to use the Easy Clean function - the burner would not light and the oven would not function during that process. Then we began to notice a problem every time we turned the oven on. We had the propane company come out and check the tank and flow regulator and everything checked out okay. We contacted LG and after some back and forth and delays the sent a local repair company out in November of 2018. The repair person checked the oven and felt there was a problem with the oven getting the proper amount of air to light. LG support told the repairman they would send an oven valve. That repair was not done until the middle of January 2019. I was told initially by LG to absolutely not use the oven until it was repaired. That meant we went through Thanksgiving and Christmas without being able to use the oven. In between all of this, the owner of the propane company came out and checked the gas flow to the oven since LG was saying they felt the problem could be the propane flow. The propane company did a water column test on the propane from the pipe to the stove and it was perfect. We began using the oven again and gradually problems began once again until one morning when my husband turned the oven on and the house filled with gas. We rushed around opening all of the windows and turning on fans even though it was a cold morning. This time I not only contacted LG but also contacted Costco concierge. Once again the repair person came out and inspected. He said when the oven is on there is a really bad metallic burning smell and it wasnt lighting properly. He once again had to wait for LG to send repair parts which he replaced as instructed. After completing the repairs the oven was still not lighting properly and was shooting gas. He made several attempts to get it working. The only way the gas would light was if he put his head into the oven and blew into the convection opening. Yikes! This oven is so not safe! I was very concerned that he might be injured by doing such a thing. Now we are once again in a holding pattern waiting for LG and Costco Concierge to come up with a satisfactory solution. I am fed up with the situation. Not only are we having these problems but this is not a very good range overall. When baking or cooking anything in the oven it is necessary to keep turning the food every few minutes or the back side of the food will be overly browned or burned. The other problem with the oven is there is no shield on the top of the door and if one isnt careful while the oven is open it is very easy to be burned on the leg by the hot metal edge. I havent had a problem with the knobs on the top being bumped and turned on but when I am cleaning the stove top I usually remove those knobs so that I can clean that surface too. The burner parts are pretty junky metal but fortunately, they are removable and with some work, it is possible to get them looking okay. I am noticing some rusted areas on the burner caps which seem to be crummy cast iron but I just scrub it off. On the whole, the range is a lot of work to keep up. We wont even go into the Easy Clean (its a dud) and the regular oven cleaning function is not so great either. Since we now have no idea how much longer this will go on we have purchased a countertop oven to use. We had borrowed one from a neighbor but since this has gone on for far too long we are appreciative of their kindness but dont want to continue borrowing. I feel that LG is just stalling us as long as they possibly can and only hope I can count on Costco to insist they make this right.

While this refrigerator seems to have everything as youre reviewing it, it absolutely SUCKS! Not only does the product suck, the service on the product sucks. You seen $3k on a product and you would like to think that the degenerates that sell the thing might have an ounce of human decency in them but they dont. DONT EVER BUY AN LG PRODUCT!!! They want your money, they couldnt care less about you.I have this piece of ** refrigerator and the ice maker always (in literal terms: 9 days out of 10) freezes up and you have to pull out the ice maker, stab the chute with a knife to break up the ice cluster and it spreads the ice cubes all over the kitchen because it takes force to get it out. You have to cut in the tiny gap between the pull-out device and the door to sever the ice dam, then pull... to the point where you think the plastic will break... the ice maker out. It explodes in a shower of ice cubes that fling all over your kitchen. All that water/ice is wasted, you are MORE THAN PISSED OFF constantly and you never have access to anything but floor-ice. I would never recommend any product by this manufacturer because they simply dont care. I was told...You bought it. Figure out how to use it the best in your house. Also, their water filters are ridiculously priced. I hope the manager of their support catches dick cancer and dies in front of his own mother.

I purchased my washer 7/17/2014. On or about 3 weeks ago I noticed a little puddle of water on the floor. I didnt think much about it, then the next day I was washing a load of clothes, and the little puddle became a flood. I called Lowes, Moreno Valley, California where I purchased the machine, and told my salesperson what had happened. he stated, Lets just bring out a new one. That sounded like a good idea since the machine was less than 2 months old. Then I was told, We have to have a tech come out and see what the problem is, before we can do an exchange. Ok, well the tech was scheduled for the next week. I work, so I had to arrange for someone to be at my house for the tech. (in the meantime - Lowes did send out a loaner machine, I have to do laundry. So the tech came out, and because the machine was not hooked up, he said he couldnt do anything and Lowes would have to have someone come and put the washer back in the laundry room. I called and spoke with my salesperson. So now they are going to send another tech out and will have their people come and hook up the washer. The men that came out and took the loaner away and put my washer in the laundry room, managed to put a scratch on the front of my washer. The next day the tech arrives, he tells me there is a hole in the pump, and he will have to order the part. I call Lowes, and am once again told that they will send out a loaner until my washer can be repaired, so here it is Friday 3 weeks later, no washer, and told that Lowes will have someone come out and paint the scratch. First the manager said he would knock of 10% of what I paid for the machine. Is he crazy? I had a new machine, looks like a used one. My complaint is with both LG and Lowes. Both places have given me the runaround, and the worst customer service.

Our 25-year-old Kitchen Aid dishwasher died and sadly our landlord replaced it with an LG dishwasher. Whether it works to our satisfaction has yet to be seen; the design is my big complaint. We are bending over literally almost to the floor to load the dishes. I own some giant pots, but none big enough to justify the enormous gap between the top and bottom shelves. Its ridiculous. I actually stubbed my toe and injured myself on the open door, which practically rests on the ground! The prongs are lined too far apart to economically place small dishes and plates and all in a row, so attempting to find a sensible way to group like dishes and glasses is pointless. Fortunately, we hadnt thrown away the utensil tray from the Kitchen Aid; I dont understand the covers on the junky LG tray, some of which stay open and some dont. Its just a cheaply and poorly designed, impractical product.

Customer service is horrible. Their English needs much to be desired. My unit was slow to make ice and was not dumping so they had me put my phone to the sensor. She told me I needed to change it from crushed to cubed? Say... What? Anyway found it is a early sign of compressor failure. Their first question was Why didnt you get the extended warranty. I guess they have no faith in their product, normally I have no use for those warranties. It seems like, in my case, products are programmed to self-destruct after the warranty expires. I heard some stories but when I purchased it I was told this has a different compressor it and it is not prone to failure. Home Depot lied! The fridge was 18 months old and within 2 weeks of the new compressor I lost refrigerant and I had to call service, they came out right away and repaired it.Now a week later everything was soft in the freezer again, but they cannot come out until Tuesday. It is 40 degrees in my garage, not cold enough to use as a refrigerator. I lost about 300 dollars in food since Thanksgiving. My old fridge lasted 16 years before it died, and I think it was my fault because I put it in the garage, found out later that not every fridge can be put in a cold area. So what happened to quality control in the day and age? If I was on the board of LG I could not look myself in the mirror putting out a product with this kind of problems.

I will NEVER buy another LG anything. I purchased a $3000 French door LG model brand new 4 years ago. The compressor went out in September. I lost all my food and I had a local service company come out only to tell me they could not get parts and that this is common with the LG brand. They suggested I check warranty and call LG direct. And that’s where the nightmare really begins.... I have been in contact with customer service 14 times, always on the phone for over 30 mins up to over an hour at times. Many times transferred to an “executive service member” who in my opinion does less for you than whoever initially answers the call. They have set up repair appointments with a company that doesn’t show up or call back. Out of all those calls and all the time spent in the phone it goes like this; They say there is no one else in the area that is certified LG repair. They offer to call other local repair companies. None of them want the job. They offer to reimburse for us to purchase a small refrigerator in the meantime up to $150. Still no repair. Many calls later I am told they will process a partial refund for the original purchase but will need to review my receipt. I send in receipt, receipt for mini fridge and other documentation including my first service call bill and service notes. I am continually promised a call back. I never get one. NEVER. I continue to call. 3 months later, no repair, no call back, no reimbursement, no refund. I continually get the run around from each call. Now they are trying to get a repair company out again. I have since had to buy another refrigerator. I have 3 children and my ill mother living with me, obviously no one can go that long without a working refrigerator. My advice is keep your sanity, poor products and worse customer service and warranty promises. BEWARE OF LG.

I purchased this LG refrigerator (LFX25973ST/02). Serial number ** in July 2013 after my old refrigerator went down. My first time having a compression issue was in June 2017 days before my oldest daughter high school graduation, the compressor went down. A compressor was ordered and came within 1-2 days. Now a year and half later, on April 6 of 2019, the compressor goes again. My youngest daughter is due to graduate in June of 2019. I called my extended warranty and set an appointment for a technician to come out on Tuesday morning, April 9 from 8-12 pm. Get a call back to from the company that deals with LG products that they would need to reschedule my appointment because they would need to order a compressor. I was told it could come 1-2 business days or 2-5 business days. Well today is April 14 and still no refrigerator/compressor. No calls to reschedule a technician visit, nothing. I called my extended warranty company which I purchase with Lowe’s in Philadelphia. A supervisor was suppose to call me back because I wanted to know what was the hold up and never did. They were to expedite the part, never happened. I also called LG company and no help as well. I would never purchase a LG refrigerator again in my life. I am letting family and friends know not to purchase either. In the mean time before the compressor went I had the ice maker fixed about 3 times. Do not purchase this refrigerator!!!

I bought this refrigerator in Sept. 2012. January 2013 I experienced the 1F error message. LG had a tech come out and replace the computer board and the fan. January 2014 same thing happened. They replaced the control board and the fan (the original fan was recalled so a newer fan was put in place). January 2015 freezer frosting up again causing the fan to run all the time. LG says it’s out of warranty however it is the control board that is broke again. They sent a tech out that would not open the door until I gave them a check for $60.00. Then they tell me that LG is just refurbishing the old boards and sending them back to be put back in the refrigerator. They tell me they want $308.00 to replace and that I have to give them $150.00 before they would order. I can’t afford that. This should be LG replacing this as this part is defective and they continue to put defective parts back into the refrigerator and charge the consumer. All I want is a working refrigerator. I will never buy an LG product again. They are deceptive and should be recalling these control boards and replacing them with working boards.

I have a maid who washes the utensils but I still got a dishwasher so that her absence would not be an issue. Pros : most of the glassware gets cleans really well; utensils feel more hygienic. Cons : you still need to pre-wash vessels, remove all leftovers, and then put in the dishwashers; steelware does not feel so clean at times; I am scared to put in plastic due to heating.

I bought an LG dishwasher 3 years ago. Read reviews I could find at the time. They werent the top of the line but they were reviewed better than middle of the road. I wanted it to be quiet and clean my dishes well. That lasted about 6 months, called them and they told me that all dishwashers make noise. I asked them why the dishes werent drying completely, they told me the inside of a dishwasher is always going to leave some moisture on the dishes. Really, that was their answer. Quit draining this week, well thats not true. It drained all over my kitchen floor. Finally found a repairman to work on it. Guess what, repairmen hate LG dishwashers too, if they will even work on them. Repairman told me if you can afford to buy another dishwasher to do it, they always break. Since I dont have a money tree in my backyard, I had to have it fixed, but you can bet I will never buy another LG dishwasher.
