We have 5 LG appliances bought in 2011. Washer piece of junk. Today refrigerator shut down. Went back and forth with LG people. Very dissatisfied with their products even after a repairman said washer was deteriorating. Recommend not to buy their products. Wish I didnt.

Bought a new LG fridge in November 2017 from Home Depot (delivered Feb 18). Fridge was finally installed by my general contractor in January 2019 after kitchen renovation. Almost immediately, the fridge started to make a loud buzzing type noise. The noise is unbearable and can be heard in the other room while watching TV (to the point of needing to raise the TV volume), as well as when we are upstairs. The noise is non-stop and continues even when the fridge door is open. I called LG and they said that the compressor was defective as they are designed to shut off when the door was open. However, they said that the warranty is only for a year after original purchase (even though its been installed less than a year), and I would need to contact a repairman to have them come fix it, and they would not cover the cost of the repairman. I am now getting quotes to fix it for a few hundred dollars, which at that point I should just get a new fridge despite my fridge being used only 6 months. I will never again buy an LG product.

I spent $2379.00 for my LG Fridge Model number LFX21976ST/02. I have had it since 2011. Not long compared to every other refrigerator I have ever had. It had been a total piece of junk since I purchased. The ice maker never works. You have to unplug the door to the ice and chip the ice as it never comes down. The french door closure has broke and it a nightmare. It has to be closed in a certain order or it remains open. The only problem is, there is no indication it is open, so I have had spoiled food on at least 4 occasions. Now I find out the Compressor has gone out. In 5 years??? I live alone and its not opened and closed constantly. I will NEVER buy a product from them ever again. In fact Im throwing out this one and just going to get a new cheap one.

Since the first week I had LG, it made my clothes smell. Despite calling LG, and having a service company come out, the smell wont go away. I have a sick person with cancer, and they cannot lay on the sheets, because it makes them nauseous. I have to take the wash to my sons house. This is totally unacceptable. I have allergies, and the smell is giving me headaches. LG needs to take this machine back, because there is something gravely wrong. The reason is it does not empty all the water out, and sits in the machine. The water gets smelly, and goes into the clothes. To sit on the floor and empty the water after each wash, is unacceptable. Bleaching and numerous cleaning doesnt help, as long as it holds at least a gallon of water all the time. Please recall the LG front load model WM042HW/01. According to LG, this is normal, and are trying to say it is the soap/detergent that is the problem. This is not so. It is a water problem that always remains in the machine getting musty.

DO NOT buy an LG product. I purchased an LG dishwasher 3 ½ years ago on sale for $429.00. Model LDF7774ST. It quit working the other day due to the main control board going bad. If you google this model and problem, it was a common failure on this model and others. Good news is, the warranty covers the circuit boards for 5 years, but doesn’t include labor. So, I called to schedule a warranty service call. Here’s where it gets ridiculous. First, you have to pay $125.00 up front just to reserve a service appointment. Then, as it was explained, if the problem was due to something other than a warrantied part, the labor charge would be between $65.00 and $175.00, plus the part, plus the $125.00 service fee. But, if it was the bad circuit board, the part would be covered, but there was a flat labor charge of $250.00, plus the $125.00 service fee, for a total of $375.00. I could not believe my ears, so I called back a little later, spoke to a different person, and was quoted the same amounts. I am not going to pay $375.00 for a $400.00 dishwasher, and will NEVER buy an LG product again.

Washer wt 1101cw - This washer is constantly out of balance, I have to watch every load which I realized were taking 4 hours or more to do one load, my water consumption has doubled for my home since January of 2014 and it keeps my septic drain field constantly wet even in the heat of summer. Further they have told me there is nothing they will do to fix this problem, in fact his words to me is This shouldnt be a problem mamma. So this is the worst washer I have ever purchased and would never recommend it.

Open till recently I was very happy with my LG refrigerator. Unit has always been great. Do you want to half years after me owning your own at the compressor went bad. I was very happy to hear that LG would replace it free of charge however I was not thrilled that it took so long to get a service appointment. I was almost a week without a refrigerator. Repair technicians came in. That’s where the real trouble started. The first time they said they didn’t have the right parts and it didn’t work so they left the refrigerator off for a number of days again while they were could get the right stuff to Complete the job. About a day after my refrigerator which finally running I called the repair company directly and told them that the unit was making load noise and vibrating. All my drinks were moving around on shelf but nonetheless I was happy to have a refrigerator again. Now it’s been 4 weeks with multiple phone calls to the repair company with no response to come out and rectify the issue. So now I turn back to LG to complain and to finally try to get someone out to fix this thing. An exceedingly long and painful process.

I bought a LG LFX31925ST 2 1/2 years ago from Nebraska Furniture Mart. The compressor went out in only 2 1/2 years. You would think when you pay $2400 for a fridge it would last a little bit longer. Last fridge I had lasted 35 years but then again it was not a LG. Got extended warranty but takes over a week and half to get repairman here. I like getting ice for coolers on a daily basis, updating kitchen and laundry room. But rest assured they will not be LG, worst junk I ever bought.

After being told that this washer was the most top-rated, we decided to make the move to this HE machine to save water. It has the clear top, so we were suspicious from the start with the minimal activity and agitation seen with the impeller system versus our old machine, plus it appeared that some clothes werent even getting wet! But the information we had read told us that all of this was normal. We were shocked at the 1:47 hours to complete a load, but again, we were able to wash twice as much in one load. BUT, a load of heavily soiled Levis from gardening, which would have been no problem with our old machine, came out filthy, even using the Heavy-duty cycle with extra water! TWICE!! This really is not acceptable, but we dont have a lot of faith in trying any other HE machine now either. We are reading bad reviews on pretty much all of them!

Purchased a LG Refrigerator from Home Depot in July of 2012. Within probably a month, I had to call the company and have them come and service the freezer as it was completely frosted up. I did not find the person on the phone to be polite at all and pretty much implied that I had done something to make the freezer frost up. That problem was fixed and I have not had any further issues with the freezer. However, the plastic shelves are pretty much all broken as well as the plastic drawers. I called the company on two occasions to complain about this and once again I felt that the phone staff were very rude. I told them that all the shelves were broken so they sent me one shelf. Doesnt do me much good as they are all broken and some of the support for the shelves to sit on are also broken. I would never, ever, ever purchase a LG product again. Their support staff not very polite or helpful and the product is horrible.

Based on my research, LG seemed to have the highest rating on all of their appliances and they last longer. They seemed to be the best product out there. It has been less than a year since I bought my refrigerator but I have another LG refrigerator. We just purchased the house, and it has one in it. The ice maker is not a very big one though and it just has a little door insert ice maker. So, it does not produce enough ice for us. The refrigerator is not but two years old and it broke. It took about five weeks before it was repaired. Then, my washer took three weeks to be repaired. The washing machine and the refrigerator are two items that you need immediately in a household. I was so dissatisfied. The parts had to be ordered but it’s not so much LG but the people that they use to repair their stuff. It’s something that they need to look into because when they have crappy service, then the product gets a crappy reputation.

The owners manual says the cycle for Bulky/Large/Heavy duty can wash and spin 8LBS. A call to the LG service department said it could do 12-14LBS. We have washed a 6LB mattress cover with no problems. We rewashed it 3 months later and it could not spin, tried to reposition item, the drum went back and forth forever to extract water but still couldnt spin. Months later was the 3 bathroom cotton rugs, 17X24, 21X24 and 22X34 total weight 6LBS it couldnt spin. Before the 5 year extended warranty expired called for service 3 separate times.1st repairman said he had no idea what was wrong and said he would have someone else come out, that didnt happen. 2nd repairman saw the rugs put in the machine, partial wash and then try to spin, took 1 out till wouldnt spin took out another still wouldnt spin. They said they would call LG and get answers, they called back a few days later and said LG said it was one loaded and to remove two, that did not work. We were then told that LG doesnt like to repair their equipment. The 3rd repairman couldnt long enough to see if it would spin. The warranty company gave us $50.00 and said to use a commercial laundry. Very unhappy with LG products. I will not buy again. Im also not happy with extended warranties wont be purchasing those again. Just a word to the wish look at the reviews LG has a problem.

Bought this machine in 2011 from Conns. We never had a problem, but the only thing was where the bleach dispenser it started rusting and I would just clean it. I did buy warranty, but before it expired I called to tell them about the rust. Conns said that is a manufacture problem, they only repair. So I didnt renew it. Now the tub makes horrible noise when washing rinsing. And clothes comes out soggy. I called LG yesterday, I thought maybe they could do the Smart Diagnostic and let me know what machine needs. They said if they did the diagnostic it would mess up the machine?? For them to send a Tech out it will cost $414 with one year maintenance or $302 for 60 day warranty. So disappointed, I might as well go buy a new one.

I have contacted customer service via the telephone and email, but have gotten nothing but excuses. Our 2-year old range is rusting, pitting and the enamel is wearing off from the grates sliding in and out. We have an extended warranty with GE, but they said our warranty doesnt cover the issues. They term this as cosmetic. We have had other stoves/ranges over the years and this has never happened. LG also states that cosmetic issues arent covered. In December of this past year, I wrote a letter and mailed it to a location in New Jersey which online had shown it as a corporate office, but never received a response. It would be appreciated if someone would acknowledge my concerns and receive some restitution. We bought five LG appliances in one week at The Home Depot and spent over $6000.00 and have no problems with the items. I hope someone could help us out!

My fridge broke down September 27, 2018 and I have been calling LG customer service about every 3 days and keep getting a complete runaround. They bounced me from service provider to service provider promising they would cover the parts and labor. None of their providers in our area were willing to come. Im only one hour from New York City!!! Since they failed to provide a service provider I found my own and after about 20 hours on the phone with LG over several weeks got them to agree to cover the parts and labor for the provider I found. They promised a letter of authorization on 3 different occasions to start the work and it never was sent. I finally lost it on the customer service rep and they said they would consider replacement since I waited so long... only to be informed on my next call that this request was denied. Ive spent at least 30 hours on the phone with their customer support and it is November 27, two months later and absolutely no progress in two months. Im lost and extremely disappointed. Im a pretty patient person and hardly ever write reviews like this but the service I have seen is awful!!! I will never buy an LG again and will warn everyone I know to never buy LG.

LFX25991ST/05 LG French door counter depth refrigerator - I actually love/hate this refrigerator. It has worked well. I love the ice and water dispenser, however, it appears to be caving in. There is a long crack at the top running into the inside of the dispenser. When the water dispenser is pressed it moves the entire wall inside the dispenser. The frame of the entire dispenser is actually crumbling piece by piece. We have no recollection of ever dropping anything or anything falling on the door dispenser. We have no warranty left on it as it is now almost 3 years old. So we are faced with the repair. Frankly neither of would have the strength to push so hard the plastic would crack. I own an LG stove, microwave, washer and dryer. I am not unhappy with any of these - performance wise.

My LG refrigerator stopped cooling on June 26, 2021, so I called LG customer service to schedule a service appt. The young lady told me that my fridge was still under the warranty. I only purchased it in 2017. The warranty says 10 years for the compressor. They said someone would contact me to schedule an appt. No one called me so I called the number customer service provided. The service agent told me he would be at my house on July 6, 2021, but no one showed. I immediately called customer service back to let them know their people were a no-show, and they did not even call to say they were not going to make it. So the customer service rep. told me that someone would be out to fix the problem in 2 days July 8, 2021. I also lost food trying to preserve it thinking someone would come out in a reasonable time to fix it. In two days another no-show. I emailed a letter to the companys liaison to the president of the company, she called and I told her what happened. I also filed a claim for reimbursement for my lost food. I asked could I get a replacement refrigerator since no one has come out to fix it. The response was I will put in another order for service. They said they cannot replace it, and made a prorated offer for the fridge and an offer for compensation for the food after some negotiating on my part. As it stands it has been a month with no word back from them. I have reached out numerous times, kept all my correspondence with the company. I had to go into debt to purchase another refrigerator because the freezer also went out on it. I have not received a check for the food neither have I heard anything back from the company about a counteroffer for this broken fridge. I only asked for less than $100 dollars more to help toward my other fridge since they said they could not replace it. I will never buy another LG product again. I am still waiting to hear from them and I have been calling 1-888-412-8357 for the RA department to speak with someone, but no one answers the phone. I have waited several times for at least an hour listening to a recording. They dont care about their customers.

I have a 2-1/2 year old LG french door, bottom freezer refrigerator that I purchased from Sears for $3,000. While on vacation, the entire unit stopped cooling. Called Sears to service. Because it was a sealed system issue, LG covered parts but not labor. 4 visits, $480 later, and 4 WEEKS WITHOUT A WORKING REFRIGERATOR, the unit is still not working. The compressor was replaced, the evaporator was replaced, the dryer value was replaced, as well as 2 valve assemblies.I call LG and they tell me I need another repair company to look at it. I pay another $100 for them to tell me they think it needs another compressor which will cost me another $300 and there is no guarantee that will fix the problem. Unit still isnt cooling, freon is low, and you can hear the freon now gurgling loudly through the unit. I have called LG at least a dozen times. Lucky if you can get someone who speaks English that is understandable. My question to them was, will they deem it a lemon and offer me a buyout or replacement if compressor doesnt fix the problem. They cannot give me an answer. So now I paid $3,000 for this refrigerator, close to $600 already in labor charges trying to fix it and it still does not work and LG will continue to allow this nightmare to continue until God knows when. I am wheeling this piece of crap to the curb and cutting my losses which is EXACTLY what LG wants. You win LG! I will post on every social media account everywhere that I can until your company is out of business. We need a class-action lawsuit against LG as well. Any lawyer interested, please contact me. My LG refrigerator (7 years old) compressor failed, LG does not want to cover labor to replace it. There is (was) a class action lawsuit against LG about faulty compressors so it is a known issue. None of LG authorized repair shops in my area wants to fix this compressor issue. I also called 15 local repair shops and I heard multiple times that even after a compressor is repaired it is about a 50% change that it will work properly. Thats why repair shops dont want to fix them. I am not in a position to spent $600 for labor cost now especially if I may need to pay the same cost again because the compressor issue was not resolved/fixed. It is a very expensive problem that LG has created and knows about and LG has to be willing to repair the compressor at no cost to customers because it is such a persistent problem. LG is refusing to cover the cost of the compressor itself and the labor cost to replace it or provide a refund for the refrigerator so we can afford to buy a new one.

I bought an LG refrigerator from Home Depot in August 2007. It is the freezer on the bottom model. After about two months I noticed dripping in my basement. The ice maker plastic hose had a pin hole right behind the fridge and water was leaking down into the basement and onto the I beam. The whole beam was filled with water. Home Depot came and replaced the plastic hose. Then it leaked under my new laminate flooring and ruined a section of it.I just shut the ice maker and the water to it off. I use old fashioned ice cube trays because I am afraid to have another leak. I also have had to replace the crispers in the refrigerator section twice as the plastic keeps cracking, making the crisper unusable. The new ones dont quite fit and are relatively expensive. I need a new one again. Thats 5 repairs in 6 years. I cant afford new fridge but this one is a piece of junk.

Sears said it would be an easy conversion from Natural Gas to Propane. Sears ordered the conversion kit and it arrived two days before the LG dryer. The problems began with the single half page instruction page. The details as to how to access the dryers internal parts dont match up with the dryer I ordered. When I explained this to LGs customer service rep he replied that its a generic dryer and we dont encourage homeowners to do the LP conversion no matter how competent they are as general contractors. Cant help you, but to ask you to take the dryer to Marina, CA to our nearest appliance rep. Why couldnt they just suggest it go there first before delivering it to my home?

I feel it important for consumers to know that this stove is dangerous. A simple walking by the knobs and brushing up against them will ignite or start to let gas flow without igniting. I have come home with my house filled with gas because the knobs were brushed by when leaving. A good service tech came to my home and said LG does not have a fix for this currently. A simple splash guard in front of the knobs would fix this. I dont want my family and house to be blown up because of the faulty knobs on the LG gas range. Beware. I would not purchase this product again.

I have owned an LG Washer and Dryer for approx. 2 years. The dryer had to be replaced within a month of delivery and the inlet water valve is being replaced for the second time on the washer. Dont be fooled by PRETTY, the appliance are a piece of junk. And furthermore, when you call LG, does anyone from the company speak without an accent so you can understand them. I am saving the reader of this a ton of money. STAY AWAY FROM LG.

First Im 5 ft 2 in, I need a stepladder to reach my close in bottom of washer, pain in the butt, then only 4 yrs old, a valve stuck on filling my washer to overflowing, it flooded my home, ruined my floors and they wont cover anything but fix the washer 2 weeks later, so I would not recommend this product. If I would have left and came back, my home would have been totally gone and my insurance I would have had to use and put out a deductible, and my rates would have went up or dropped because of the malfunction. It was a nightmare trying to get through to the number for your warranty, thank goodness Allen at Home Depot got the ball rolling for me, but would not recommend product or warranty. Next time Im buying the cheapest washer out there for the money in spent.

Over the years we have tried virtually all the other brands listed, none can even come close to LGs features as well as getting the cloths clean, the capacity of their larger machines let you wash very very large items (sleeping bags, blankets, pillows etc) and their larger dryers handle the larger loads as well, they have great warranty coverage combined with follow up service, how can you beat that?

Purchased LG gas range. Cooking for 30-40 minutes using oven at any temperature will cause oven to shut off and PF will flash and fan icon will flash. If you open the oven door the light will flash on and off. Control buttons dont work until the oven cools down. LG phone tech said I had a power failure. I did not. LG repair guy that came to my house claims it is the power board allowing too much something or other to come through which is causing it to shut down. Hoping he is right and unhappy that I have to pay a repair bill for something in a new appliance.

We purchased a top of the line LG refrigerator Model #LFX28978ST from Home Depot on July 4th, 2012. On December 23, 2012, it quit working. It is now January 21, 2013 and I am still without a refrigerator! I called the LG Hotline on December 23rd and was told that they could have their certified repairman out on the 28th of December. He came out and told me we needed a new compressor; he didnt carry this part on his truck so it would have to be ordered. The compressor would take a week to get here. On 1/3/2013, he returned with the compressor, installed it, added Freon to the refrigerator and stayed until he felt the unit started to cool. He told us to wait 24-48 hours. Being a little gun shy about losing all of my food the first time (I had the refrigerator stocked for the holidays), I waited a little longer to go out, purchase more food and sure enough on 1/7/13, the refrigerator stopped cooling again. I called LG and was told that the repairman that had been out before was off for two weeks, and that I needed to call a different authorized repair shop. I did and was told by the person at that repair shop that they did not work on compressors and would not come out. I called LG back again, spoke with a different person and was told that our original repair person could be out on 1/10/2013. He came back out and after trying different things, we were told that the refrigerator could not be fixed and that it would have to be replaced. He gave us a fax number to fax everything to LG, which I did the next morning. I received a call from the repair center the next day and was told by Barbara from LG Repair Center that I would need to email the paperwork to her. I told her that I had faxed everything the day before. She told me that was just a general fax number and to email everything to her at an email address that she would email to me. I tried a few times to email the paperwork to her only to get error messages; the email would not go through. I called Barbara back and she gave me her fax number, so I once again faxed all of the paperwork to her. I received a call from Barbara the next day to tell me that they would have to get a replacement refrigerator from their LG warehouse, and that it would take 7-10 business days before someone would contact me to set up a delivery date. I asked her where their warehouse was located, and she told me TX; I told her that I lived in TX! I asked why so long, and she told me that they have to tell everyone that it will be 7-10 business days for someone to contact me to set up delivery. I have been a month without a refrigerator. I have spent more money on eating out and buying ice this one month than what I spend in a year’s time. Not only does LG not care, they dont care!I will never buy another LG for as long as I live. I wish that I would have seen this blog before I bought this piece of crap. I will tell all of my friends and family about this. I am hoping that they tell all of their friends and family. Also, be aware that LG is making refrigerators for Kenmore - this is from the mouth of the LG repairman!

We purchased an LG dryer from Lowe’s 11/18 for almost $1,000. It stopped heating after 3 days, so Lowe’s delivered a new one. This one worked for about 6 months. The diagnostic iPhone app didn’t work. The diagnostic app that communicates with a smartphone using a sound code didn’t work. We finally got a diagnostic error code by using a combination of buttons on the machine. It said the vent was blocked. So I removed the vent - there was no blockage. They say a repairman is coming next week, but we’ve decided it’s all too much trouble and so bought a new Maytag for $500 today. The LG is going to the dump.

The LG under warranty dept has been a nightmare and nothing gets resolved. They send a service company that does not even want to deal with LG in warranty anymore. LG keeps trying to get other companies who are less than cooperative and full of lies. The LG customer service (that is obviously not American speaking) is also full of lies and the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Sorry I ever purchased these items. We have a 25 cubic foot stainless steel side by side refrigerator, 3 1/2 years old. On the 8th we noticed the freezer wasnt freezing (thought we had left the door open), but on the 9th we noticed water on the floor from the ice melting, called Sears where we purchased it and got the name of 2 service techs. The next day he came out and said the compressor had gone out (he mentioned that LG is known for this, and GOOD LUCK with service from them), he gave us a quote to fix it, said for what it would cost it would be better to get a new one. The next day we went to Sears to look for a new one, found out through them that the refrigerator was 100% warranty from LG on parts and labor, so we went home and called LG the next day. By this time we have lost hundreds of dollars in meat and other items out of the fridge and freezer. After contacting LG and talking with an agent, and letting them know we had a compressor go out (let me tell you, every time I talk with a new one, and every time the language barrier makes the communication hard), anyway they said they would get a service call right out. That was on Monday the 13th, I did not hear from them so I called back, and again no service scheduled, the agent said they would expedite and get a service request. On Thursday the 15th, I got an email that we would have a service call on Friday. Friday morning I called A&E service to verify the service and time, they had NO record of a service call. So I called LG and they told me to call A &E myself to schedule, so I did, well A & E says they cant set it up because its under warranty and I have to go through LG, so I call LG back again. I was on the phone for 51 minutes (mostly on hold) with a Michael, results, they will expedite, give them 2-3 business days.On 4-21 called LG to see where we were, was told that A & E has scheduling issues, give them 2-3 business days. Called LG on 4-24, same thing, give them 2-3 days, but this time they offered to pay up to $200.00 for a refrigerator rental. I declined, one, doubt this would pay for a rental for as long as this is taking, and two, we lost everything when it went, so basically living on the basics to get by, NEVER thought it would take this long. I asked for corporate phone number, but forgot this was suppose to be a manager I was talking with, so I was given a phone number and it was the 1st number I ever called for the service, this person hung up on me.Called the corporate number back 256-612-5359. Talked with Rads, while on the phone with me he called A& E and told me that A & E accepted a work order for the repair, but have no record of it, so HE IS GOING TO EXPEDITE THIS TO CORPORATE OFFICE,, GIVE THEM ANOTHER 2-3 DAYS to get a response. However he did offer because of my issues they would authorize a local service repair and pay for the parts, we pay the service and labor and they would reimburse us up to $450.00. I passed on that option, if they reimburse as fast as they get service I may never see the money, and at this point in all of this, I do not trust them. I feel all I have got is a run around and a way of them hoping we will go buy a new refrigerator and drop the repair claim. Not gonna happen.P.S. when we were looking at Sears in the beginning, was looking at a Kenmore Elite, however now that I know it is made by LG, there is no way I would buy it. Our original local service man that we had, told us good luck with LG, obviously this is their normal customer service. We have become a disposable society, and nothing last like it use to, but when you spend $1500.00 on a refrigerator it should last more than 3 1/2 years, and if it still is covered under warranty, you shouldnt have to go through what I have. I would not recommend anything LG, if this is how they take care of their customers.

I bought a brand new dishwasher & after installation from the first wash it displayed error codes. Called LG customer service several times. Finally they sent a repairman out who said the motor was seized. The dishwasher literally has run 2 times - the third time we got the LG error code which is a problem with the motor. LG wants to repair a dishwasher which has never worked. I tried to explain to them that I was not comfortable with that but their policy is they will not replace a unit until it has 4 major repairs in 1 year. I told them this was broken from the factory. They said there was nothing they could do but repair it. So far we have been without a dishwasher for almost two weeks. I am apparently going to have to either pay to have someone take it out, return it & buy another dishwasher (which LG cust service told me was a good idea) or do that myself with no compensation from LG. I even told them I have an LG phone and LG big screen tv but I will not buy LG again if they dont fix this & they didnt seem to care.

Unhappy at first, there wasnt sufficient water filling the machine. The result was that the clothes had a musty smell, they were simply not clean. The solution was quite simple; however, it may not be found in their user book. Beneath the top of the washer, there is an upright screw mounted on top of one of the sensors. There is only one screw that may be turned, hence, you cannot go wrong on this. Take a Phillips head screwdriver and turn the screw 1/2 turn clockwise. This tells the water sensor to allow in more water. Caution: Do not turn it a full turn or you will have too much water. Now Im happy. There is ample water in the machine and the clothes come out refreshingly clean. In this day, when everyone is going green, LG thought it prudent to just dampen your clothes and thereby save 3 gallons of water during each load. The result of going green, caused clothes to come out of the wash still soiled and smelly. Wash these a few times more and they smell even worse. LG should wise up. Important note: The top of the washer should not be pried off as it will bend the retaining metal. Pull the machine out, unscrew the holding screws in the back top of the lid. Then pull the lid back towards the rear about 1, the lid may then be lifted up. The LG front-loading washer works wonders with ample water. Adjust the water sensor and enjoy clean clothes.

We bought ALL LG appliances 3 yrs. ago, including their French door-in-door refrigerator. We’ve been without that fridge for THREE WEEKS now!! LG’s customer svc. is shameful. They think 3 wks isn’t unreasonable to live without a fridge. It took 2 wks & dozens of phone calls, hanging on hold for over 10 mins. to even get an LG certified tech assigned to our case. Took another week for THEIR certified tech to receive the new compressor from LG parts. (LG refuses to expedite shipping even when we offered to pay for it). He came, installed the new one & it’s STILL doesn’t work!!!!Admittedly, we were enamored by their products. We drank the “Life’s Good” Koolaid. The only element that differentiates one manufacturer, from another is their customer service when things go wrong. It’s easy to spew “Life’s good” mantra when people are spending millions on your products. It’s what a company does to help its brand loyal customers WHEN THINGS GO WRONG - that is the true measure of their worth. I was an LG brand loyal consumer. I’m over that now & hope to warn others so this nightmare doesn’t happen to them. My neighbor had a similar compressor problem with their Samsung fridge. They received a full refund for what they paid for it, in TWO DAYS!One of my husband’s cancer meds requires refrigeration. Even knowing that, LG customer service reps give the same rehearsed canned response; “we’re sorry for your inconvenience”. 1) They’re NOT “sorry” & 2) Being without a fridge for the whole month of August is considered well beyond “inconvenience”!!! They’re doing NOTHING except continuing to try to get it repaired at a snail’s pace. There’s NO possibility of getting anything done quick with them. I offered to give them MY FedEx acct. # to overnight another compressor. No, they can’t even do that. If I could afford to put this piece of garbage on the curb for trash pick-up, I would. But we bought all new appliances knowing we were going to be retiring & these were supposed to last us as we prepared to live on our fixed incomes. I would go buy a similar fridge by another brand manufacturer if I could, but we’re not drawing the salaries we once did. LG expects us to wait ANOTHER 3 wks or longer to see if their tech can replace the compressor, again. When asked if they could overnight it - no, that’s not their policy. They are a disgrace!!!

I purchased the Wave Force True Balance LG washer in March 2013. Thirteen months later it stopped working and needed a clutch and motor, a repair fiasco that took over three weeks. It has consistently displayed the uneven load sign, adding water and taking an eternity to finish while I stand there rebalancing the load. Today a 50 minute cycle took three hours. I have called LG many times with no resolution to the problem. This machine has big issues. I will never buy an LG product again, and next time this machine breaks, and it will, it goes out in the trash. LGs website and customer service department is sadly lacking.

We purchased a counter-depth LG refrigerator (Model LFX25991ST) 4 years ago. The ice dispenser switch went bad. Then in June, 2017, the compressor failed and had to be replaced. In August, 2017, the evaporator fan failed and had to be replaced. We have lost all confidence in the refrigerator. There are many one-stars ratings for a reason.LG Warranty: When I called LG (good luck getting someone let alone someone you can understand), the customer service representative told me that parts are generally covered for 10 years, but labor is not. An authorized LG repairman can inspect the unit (usually for a fee) and order the parts from LG for free, but you pay for their labor to install the parts. If you dont use an authorized LG repairman, you will need to pay for both the parts and labor (but their labor charges are often a lot less, so the total cost may well be similar).

I purchased an LG after reviewing them on Consumer Reports and other websit
I purchased an LG after reviewing them on Consumer Reports and other websites. I purchased mine from Lowes in June 2016 but it was not installed until August 2018 due to the delay of my home construction completion. So in service less than 1 year and no longer will cool or freeze as of 8-1-19. After a little research I discovered that the Linear Compressor failure is a COMMON problem with LG. NOTE LG at the time of my purchase had a 5 year warranty on this unit from the purchase date, I believe it is now a 10 year warranty. I called customer service on 8-2-19 to report problem. I was told I would be contacted by an authorized service center within 48 hours. NO CONTACT. ON 8-4-19 got a call from LG indicating I would be provided free service & repair for the cooling issue and would receive a call from an authorized service center with 48 hours (ANOTHER 48 hours with no frig/freezer). On 8-4 I received an email that my request had been sent to an authorized repair center. On 8-5 I received an email Service Appointment Cancellation Notification. I again called and advised I had never been contacted about a service appt. She put me on hold and came back and said I had a new service appt on 8-8 between 8-5 and the provider would call me 1 hour prior. On 8-6 I got another Cancellation Notice. It is now 8-12-19, still no frig/freezer or repair scheduled. I have documented everything and will pursue. I also discovered there is a class action against LG for this same problem. My request was escalated to Executive Services Project Team on 8-8-19 and I was told to call him (will not mention names yet) back on Saturday as he would be working from 9-6, if I had not received a response within 48 hours. He did send me an email with his name and unit but no direct phone number. On 8-10 I called and asked to speak to the person and was advised no one worked in that division on the weekend.Today 8-12 I called and asked for Executive Services and spoke to another man. He advised that a repair provider was sent a letter of authorization for a labor rate of $450 flat on 8-5-19. The man tried to call them with no answer. I advised it was too early here in Hawaii and he asked if I could call them. I have called them with no person answering, and left two messages. (Perhaps this was one of the cancelled appointments). I need to know IF AND WHEN my refrigerator will be repaired. I have guests coming in two days and will rent one if I have to but NEED a response from someone that has a clue about what steps will be taken. By the way, pretty no one here on the island of Hawaii will repair either LG or Samsung. Next time I will check with repair services before I buy an appliance.

We purchased our refrigerator in August 2016. In February 2019 it stopped freezing and cooling. I called LG and the customer service (800 243 0000) and was scheduled for a service call the following morning. Based on the description of the problem the customer service rep advised there would be no charge for the service call or repair. (She didnt advise why, I didnt ask because I was thrilled after reading the other horror stories on this site.) The technician, Bryan ** called me about 15 minutes after the call to confirm our appointment the following morning and ask me about the problem so that he could ensure he had what he needed on the truck to make the repair. The next morning Bryan called when he was on his way to my house. (Within the time window that was scheduled. Another thing that doesnt happen that often that people actually show up in the time frame they are supposed to.) He began working at 10AM and finished by just after 11AM. He would courteous and very competent in making the repair. It turned out to be a failed/faulty compressor which was replaced with a new one. I already loved the fridge, I am extremely pleased with the customer care by all three LG employees I worked with in this transaction. Thanks!!!

I was told the linear compressor was a good reason to make this purchase. It was not and is a good reason not to buy LG refrigerators. My advice to LG you know you sold a defective product, do the honorable and right thing and repair or replace at no charge. My fridge is 7 years old inoperable for the second time in 8 months so I am borrowing space in neighbor’s 25 year old Whirlpool. Boy, do I wish I had read this website 2+ years ago, when I decided to purchase this LG WT5070CW HE WaveForce top loader. I too was swayed by the glowing review from Consumer Reports. Ive been burned several times for following their recommendations, but thats a different story. This has to be the worst washing machine ever. I agree with everything everyone has already said. The bleach dispenser on my machine is also rusting (identical picture to the ones already posted).Ive had clothes come out with detergent still on them, dry spots where the water never even penetrated, all stains are still on the clothes. Ive re-washed, soaked, applied stain removers, etc... If theres any grease/oil component to the stain, you will still have it on your clothes -- even after the heavy duty cycle. Try to do a load of sheets (and Im talking about one set of sheets without the pillow cases) - they just float on the surface and never get pulled down into the tub of water. Come out stale smelling. I am so over this machine. How does something like this get foisted on the public? There are so many identical complaints. I could have written each one of these posted here. As I am merely reiterating that which has been said, I will stop. I have just purchased a Speed Queen top loader (old fashioned agitator type) that Ive never heard any negative reviews about. Its being delivered tomorrow morning. Hallelujah! I am donating this present piece of garbage to whomever wants it.

The first problem was (what I found out is very common) the pump broke. The hose had to be drained and the pump replaced. Paid for new pump from authorized LG repairman plus fee for his visit. Second problem, the dryer settings stopped working. No matter what settings were selected the dryer stopped at 20 minutes. Clothes were not dry. Now we can only use the Time Dry and Temperature selection. At least we can dry the clothes. Third, the washer stopped working. We tried following instructions from LG and nothing worked. They suggested calling their authorized repairman who would charge for the visit as well as parts, etc. All the blue lights blink but the washer will not choose a setting and doesnt start. We tried holding the start button down for 3-10 seconds. Song plays. Nothing happens. Still cannot select setting. Occasionally it is in a good mood and works normally--about 1 in 200 tries. The only way I have been getting it to wash clothes at all is by holding down the Start button at the same time as the Pause/Play button. Then IT selects a setting, usually Cotton, and the door locks and washer starts. All through cycle all lights blink including the orange one for Delayed Wash. Now nothing is happening but the blue lights for Start and Pause/Play come on, song plays and no selection, no start, no way to operate washer. We were told LG was the BEST brand. Lifes Good their commercials say. They should change them to LNG: Lifes Not Good because now we cant wash our clothes and drying must be done manually. THESE WERE VERY EXPENSIVE APPLIANCES. SHOULD HAVE GONE TO SEARS AND BOUGHT THE CHEAPEST ONES SO WE COULD REPLACE THEM WHEN THEY BREAK. Its cheaper than paying the authorized repairman to come out, pay for his visit and parts. All computerized and were told on the phone that the whole panel might need to be replaced. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

Bought top load washer & dryer. Very first load ripped almost new $85 shirt and washcloth half. Called LG and they sent repair person out to view shirt and washcloth. Told to return it to HH Gregg and get a new washer, did so and contacted LG to pay for shirt. After sending tons of pictures, many calls, they refused to pay since I no longer had the original machine (go figure??? Their LG repair person said to return it). Often have to rewash clothes, not enough water, loud, major wrinkles, etc. Then a recall for the machine comes and schedule appointment with LG for repair person to handle recall. They come out, update software to the machine??? and then tell me not to wash anything in the machine that sheds water (waterproof? like mattress covers, etc.). Hmmm. Then he tells me my dryer doesnt dry because there are sensors in the dryer that get coated with dryer sheet film and it confuses the dryer. Oh and the replaced machine ripped another shirt, even though you have to button shirts, pants, and turn inside out!!!! LG washers/dryers dont wash and dry like regular washers and dryers we have all been used to in the past. The new save water costs more water and electricity by having to rewash and dry so many times. LG COULDNT CARE LESS EITHER AFTER YOU HAVE BOUGHT IT! We will never buy LG again and if you can hang onto your regular washer, do so. Its better for the environment and your state of mind.

We purchased our first and last LG appliance and 30 days after the one year
We purchased our first and last LG appliance and 30 days after the one year warranty had expired the fridge and freezer totally broke down. The unit was just over a year old, brand new. Well I called LG and because it was over the year they said for a tech to come out to my house would cost a lot of money and only the compressor would be covered and I would have to pay for the tech to come to the house. I contacted Direct Energy and they sent a tech with their program they have. I lost over $1,000 worth of food. I was without a fridge freezer for over 21 days.LG is very selective about their parts who they give them to, but to wait 21 days with 2 small kids and no fridge freezer its crazy. Well finally everything was fixed for 30 days and the fridge freezer broke down again and the ice maker ice melted all over the floor. Once again called a tech, I had just restocked my fridge and freezer again and lost everything. Apparently the rule bet membrane around the freezer is loose, the ice maker has to be replaced and the fridge stopped working. The unit I purchased from LG was over $3,800.00. What a wasted of money LG products are. Do not waste your money or time. We will see if it ever gets fixed.

I bought my kitchen appliances less than 3 years ago, all LG brand, brand new from Home Depot. My dishwasher has given us some issues over the last year and come to find out the electronics are not covered under the 10 year warranty that is plastered on front of the appliance. No big deal, my husband was able to fix it. However, our refrigerator is a different story. It stopped cooling. We called LG. We waited a week for a repairman who was not qualified to fix refrigerators. He stated, I dont fix refrigerators. I work on washers and dryers. But with the help of the tech support he was able to determine it was the compressor. I was instructed to call LG with a case number and they would send out a qualified person to fix the problem. This was on a Friday. I called back late Monday afternoon to check on the progress and told they still havent found anyone to fix the issue. I was denied the privilege to speak with upper management and sent into the queue so long that it kicked me out. I called back 2 more times with the same result. I called back a 4th time and spoke with a different rep. He continues to tell me more of the same stuff. Not one rep was able to give me a time frame that I would have to wait for a service repair man because the truth is they dont have one in my area. He was unable to give me a number to upper management or connect me with someone higher up. He said when they send customers into the queue to be sent to the next level they keep being kicked back to them. So in other words LG does not back their products nor care about their customersThey believe it is acceptable for a product to last less than 3 years and a customer to be without a refrigerator for 2 weeks with no recourse. May I add this is during the quarantine, so I had more food in the fridge than normal and yes I lost a lot of food. But no worries for LG. They are not worried about the customer. Do NOT buy LG products. I have NEVER been so upset or dissatisfied with a product before. I am 44 years old and this is the first BAD product review I have written on any product.

Bought a $3,000 LG refrigerator and the day after it was delivered, I called LG to have it repaired due to the refrigerator arriving damaged with a broken drip tray. Was told I couldnt get just the drip tray, that I would need the entire door assembly and that a tech would have to install it. I have spent 3 days and over 2.5 hours on the phone trying to get this tray fixed/replaced. Finally, I was transferred to a supervisor who set me up with a local service company. The service company would not order the part or come to do the repair because they said that trying to get reimbursement from LG was almost impossible and that LG fought them every time they did a warranty repair on LGs behalf. The service company said they would do it if I paid COD. Why would I pay for a part and labor for warranty work? Called LG back and spent another hour on the phone with no satisfaction. I will never buy another LG product.

My LG LRE30755ST was taking forever to reach 350 and even then, when the digital panel reads 350, the actual temp inside was only 300. We accessed LGs website to maybe view an exploded diagram or to order parts, just something useful, but they only offered the lousy owners manual (which we already have). They said wed have to submit a repair service request and theyd put us in contact with a repair tech, which basically means they dont think we are smart enough to work on their crappy appliances! **! We researched an exploded diagram on AppliancePartsPros.com and ordered the thermometer through them (bless them!). When the location of the thermostat was not obvious, we called LG and simply asked them where the thermostat is located. They said they dont give out that information. I absolutely think LG is making a huge business error by not helping their customers. I dont give a crap when they say its for our safety because thats **! Unplug the stove and dont cut yourself on sharp edges, thats all the safety we need to know! I hate LG! I hate LG! I hate LG!

The freezer seems to defrost by itself when we turn the temperature down (or before the cold mark used when the fridge is only 25% occupied). I woke up once and noticed that theres a puddle of water surrounding the fridge. I thought I just forgot that I pushed the defrost button, but upon checking, the button wasnt pressed at all. I couldnt find the owners manual since the fridge is already 5 years old. Not really sure if this is a technical issue or if this is indicated in the manual. Havent tried to contact customer service about this issue. Just need to find the warranty papers and manual first.

Three years ago I purchased the LG WT4870C washer -- a He top loader with stainless tub. Its been less than a satisfying experience owning it. The unit flashes the IE error code on virtually every load of laundry. Since my washer is in the basement, Im blissfully unaware of the error code. So, the wash cycle practically never finished when I expect; Ive come to count on it taking twice as long to do laundry as it should. The IE error code indicates a dirty water filter, and I wonder how I ever existed for years with my old washer -- it never gave me a bit of trouble related to water quality. This unit is so sophisticated. It can actually sync to your smart phone. Who gives a damn!! Can I start a wash cycle and add clothes as the tub is filling with water? Nope! I like to do that to save time, but LG thinks its a good idea to lock the lid so you must get all your dirty clothes inside the tub before you start. You cannot open that sucker while its working. Not happening. And, in this great freedom-loving country of ours, do I get to choose how much water to use to wash my clothes? Nope! I should be able to wash one sock with 10 gallons of water if I choose. Whether or not I have my own well (which I do), it should be my choice. Sometimes I just want to soak -- I mean truly SOAK -- something in water. The control freaks at LG decided to be clever and prevent the user from exercising this right. You will use exactly the amount of water THEY want you to use. Seems very un-American to me. In short, simple is usually better, and the LG WT4870C is not simple. Dont be drawn in by all the bright lights and fancy chimes. This unit is overpriced and the product of Big Brothers crack team of controllers. I wish I had not bought it.

Called Tarheel Appliance and Repair and was quoted $70 for someone to come out plus the cost of repairing the microwave which was going to put the cost well over $100! Tarheel Appliance suggested that I call LG back to see if they would extended the warranty since the microwave was just out of warranty. I was told that the warranty would not be extended!! My washer quit before completing its cycle. When I opened it to unload my laundry, it was still full of water. I closed the door and pressed the rinse/spin button. But it stopped again before completion, and the same thing again. This time I couldnt even open the door. Nothing seemed to work. Finally, after pushing buttons, it went completely through the rinse/spin cycle. I dont want to call La Mesa Appliance who is a factory approved service for LG, because I called them some months ago when the softener cup held water after the washer had completed its cycle. The repairman said this was normal, but it hadnt done this before, so I dont believe that. Meanwhile, I pull the drawer out and empty it after each wash. Im unsure whom to call for repairs.

My wife and I purchased a new 30 cu.ft LG French door refrigerator Feb.15th 2015. Within 6 months we had a defrosting problem, service man came out. A few months later same problem except worse. MELTED AND SPOILAGE. Service man came out. Kept replacing the same part. Now I must have LG EXTENDED WARRANTY, A LG CONTRACTED service man came out, he was saying NO its a compressor. He came out again. HE TOLD THEM ITS A COMPRESSOR. They thought they (LG) knew better. Finally a LG Co. Repair man came out, with a compressor. Problem solved. Each time I called for service IT WAS 2 WEEKS before it was put in, even though it was not right. The last time it was 3 weeks but problem solved. I had to purchase another refrigerator, NOT A LG. It is performing great. A GE, I HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE THIS LG for about 12 WEEKS because of being ordered and BEING WRONG part. The customer service IS SO BAD. Then, the last time LG service came out, I was charged $395 because the ext. warranty had expired. My purchase date from SPENCERS APPL. Feb.15th 2015, $2750.

I told them I would rather toss their awful product and buy a GE. I will never buy LG again. They are substandard. Not worth the high price they charge. I usually buy GE but decided to try LG because I like the features of their fridge. They look good but they are not good. BUY GE (General Electric) instead. We bought our LG refrigerator 3 years ago and were so excited to make such a big purchase. We shopped around and loved the features of the one we picked. After just 2 years, we had the compressor go out on it. We were frustrated but weren’t too upset because things break and we had a warranty. Fast forward to less than a year later and we have been forced to function out of ice chests in our living room because the compressor went out again. After doing more research I found that this is an issue many others are having. I am beyond upset. I have lost around $500 in food over the 2 incidents and already spent around $100 in ice to keep what food we have cold. This is absolutely unacceptable when you pay over $2500 for an appliance. My husband’s friend has the same fridge for less time than us and already had to replace his compressor. I will never own another LG appliance again knowing that they are fully aware of these compressor issues yet still produce and sell these appliances.

Our LG range was purchased July 12 2018. Three months later in October we got an F3 error on the panel. We called for service and 4 times a technician was sent out to replace the panel but no one ever ordered the part. So week after week waiting for either a part or just replace the range we were not able to cook for three weeks. Again we called and was advised to submit a claim with receipts, we did that. Then after customer service advised us we needed to show PROOF of purchase. After 45 minutes on HOLD we were at that time advised they will only allow $150.00. No one ever explained this at all. Home Depot said after 48 hours its the manufacturer. LG is now saying its the parts A&E appliance specialist that should have deemed it not repairable but LG said it has to break 3 times... My wife opened the d/w last evening to load dishes; a loud bang sounded, and she almost dropped the door. We purchased a refrigerator LFX31925SW, which I thought was top of the line. 2 months shy of 3 years, the compressor went out. Of course it was out of warranty. I did call LG tech support/customer service and they gave me the phone number of an LG authorized repair company. I called, they had retired, gone out of business. I called LG back, numerous times, I even used the chat online, I was told the same thing each time, it had to be an LG repairman. We live in a small town, kind of rural, I explained to them (over and over) that I had tried for 2 weeks to find someone to come and check our refrigerator, they kept insisting that they have LG repairmen all over the country. Someone would get back to us. Well, 2 weeks after that I received a message on my phone that they would go ahead and approve the one company I was able to get a hold of to replace the compressor (the compressor has a 10-year warranty). When I spoke to the repair company they had spoken with someone at LG, but LG had not faxed the authorization. I have called LG numerous times and get a different response every time. We have now been without our refrigerator a month now. We paid 2500.00 for this fridge from Home Depot 2 and a half years ago, you would think it would last or that LG would honor their commitment. I do not see us buying LG ever again in the future.

Called back with the serial # and surprise, the known recall now requires a receipt, which I dont have 7 or so years later, and LG insists its required to make the recall fix. Is that legal? Do recalls require a receipt. This is the second LG product that has gone bad on me at my expense and NO more. LG is not a good life and I would not opt for their products ever again because as other commenters below stated, their customer service is bad. I plan to call the MA consumer products division tomorrow to confirm if a receipt is necessary for a recall, assuming there is a recall on the product as the first CS agent told me this morning. I bought a LG stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave oven about a year and a week after I have them the warranty they gave you was up. Had to have the dishwasher, stove fixed and now the refrigerator is leaking water from the ice maker. Do not recommend this product to anybody.

First time for French door and I am a huge fan. It has door-in-door-feature, freezer on bottom and stainless, outside ice/Water in door, and plenty of room inside. I adore this fridge and will never buy a different one again! LG is amazing brand.

I shudder reading the complaints and expect only the best from my new machine which is doing fine so far. But I am 51 and I cannot reach into the washer to take out washed clothes unless I stand on a stool. I did not buy stackables because in a few years, I will be 80 and I didnt want to be standing on a stool to remove clothes from a stacked dryer. Thats an accident waiting to happen. But guess what--Im on the step stool now! Arrrrrrrrrrgh.

This dishwasher cost me about $900.00 in late 2008. The motor went out at one year. Fortunately, it was replaced under warranty. Christmas 2012, just 4 years after purchase, the motor went out again. I run it once or maybe twice a week. LG says they stand behind their product, but they refuse to reimburse me for any of the parts or labor to replace the motor for the second time in 4 years. I cant spend that kind of money on another dishwasher and I planned on having this one for a long time. As soon as I can afford to, I will replace it and I will not buy LG again.

First repair company, Carolina Appliance, was awful. They are LG contractors but the serviceman I got was inept at diagnosing problem. I was told to order the main board to maybe solve problem or just buy a Whirlpool. Needless to say, he diagnosed wrong and Im stuck with a new main board because cant return. And the problem (non working ice machine) wasnt fixed. I called LG and begged them to help. They sent Ramon from Excel. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! Ramon was professional, thorough, and knowledgeable. He contacted LG service team while here to troubleshoot problem properly. In the end he knew what he was doing and had my problem solved and with LGs amazing service, I have a new freezer door and a functioning ice machine. Thank you LG!

Ice maker clumps, leaks, water doesnt work. Now it is 29º inside while it is set on 37. Everything is frozen! This refrigerator cost 3k! Of course all of it started 2 months after the warranty expired. I am on the class action lawsuit.
