Avoid, Avoid, Avoid! We purchased a LG French Door refrigerator/freezer 28 cu ft (Model LFXS2926W/01) in April 2016. In late May of 2018 both lower and upper linear compressors failed along with the evaporators along with complete loss of refrigerant. Service rep came by in early June to identify the problem. Two weeks later the parts were delivered and they are back for the three hour repair. Three weeks from day of failure to day of repair. The service rep tell me that this appears to be a consistent problem with most if not all LG French door units. So $660.00 (labor and service call costs) later I hope to have it resolved. They have already warned me (because I asked) that this compressor/evaporator replacement will work properly for the next 2-3 years, before a predicted failure will occur again on the same components. The ten year warranty covers the compressor and a seven year warranty covers the evaporator. I asked their opinion on why such a generous warranty program given the predicted failure rate. The statement was the product (refrigerators internal cooling components) is over engineered and it is probably cheaper in the long run to provide the warranty than it is to have to submit to a product recall or redesign of the failed parts. I have purchased my last LG product of any kind and I am sharing our experience with everyone I can.

In Oct 2017 we bought an expensive LG refrigerator. Its well designed. Had no issues with the compressors, but the shelves are falling in pieces. Is it normal that after less than 3 years of usage of an LG fridge we see it breaking like this? They used a poor quality hooks.

The control panel cracked right through the power button within 2 months of it being brand new. Every time you close the door to start a cycle, it flashes its lights and then shuts off. Ive learned to shimmy the door side to side just right before closing it in order to get the cycle to start otherwise it just beeps at you and then shuts off. If it does start the cycle, it only actually finishes it about 50% of the time. You have to clean the trap every single wash - it seems like the screen is too fine and it catches so much itty bitty debris that it clogs it completely. I cant say how much I truly hate this dishwasher! I paid for 3 year warranty and am so annoyed that I have to use it so soon. Cmon LG you bloody crooks make a product that works.

We are joining the rest of duped LG purchasers. We purchased a French Door refrigerator LFX28968SB in 2015 and on 9-19-18 we had to throw food out and are now using a cooler with ice to keep essentials. The refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling. We contacted the store where we bought it and a service tech came out on 9/20/18 and said there was nothing he could do. It ** the bed. I called customer service (which the rep was rude) and she stated we needed to have a certified LG tech look at it and they need to submit the repair request. She gave the one, which there seemed not to be more than 1 in RI. Contacted Certified Service Co. and they seemed to be having issues with doing work on LG and said I would have to have parts sent to me if they were under warranty. I agreed. Now after reading all the reviews Im cancelling the service call and going to buy new refrigerator and it will not be a LG for sure. I think a lawsuit against this company needs to be revisited. There are way too many lemons out there and they were not cheap. Not to mention the loss of food and tons of aggravation!

Almost every load we do whether its a big load or small, light stuff or bulky, the UE error light comes on. Sometimes it is on while the machine is still filling or rinsing. Sometimes it is on and the machine has come to a stop. You can never predict when a load or which load this is going to happen to. The bottom line is it can take a whole day to finish a couple of loads. Today we did two load. Total time from start to finish was a little over five hours!! Supposedly, you can pause the cycle and redistribute the load manually and that will cure the problem. Yeah, it will for about 5 minutes until the UE comes on again! Knowing what we know now and having suffered with this for two years, we would NEVER buy another LG HE washing machine. If the damn thing wasnt so expensive, we would have gotten rid of it a long time ago. Its so bad now though that we are probably going to do just that - get rid of the thing.

Wish I could leave a rating of zero stars as a more accurate rating. LG Refrigerator model LFX25974ST /04 less than one year old under full warranty compressor failed. Informed item was on back order and will not receive for 3+ weeks. We have already waited for one week for service. Numerous calls to customer service has done nothing but bring frustration and hours of wasted time. Horrible product and horrific customer service. A month without a refrigerator and hundreds of dollars in spoiled food. A family of four with two small children cannot be without a functioning refrigerator. We will never purchase another LG product, EVER.

Last August, I purchased an LG 31 cubic foot side by side refrigerator. A couple of months ago, it started making a loud noise and did not seem to be keeping food as cold. I called LG and they promptly dispatched a repairman. He was wonderful... spent 5 hours in my house and told me he didnt think that it was fixed and would be back in a couple of weeks and to call if there was an issue. A few days later, it started making a different noise and everything in the freezer melted. He came back, looked at some things and said he thought it should be replaced and would start the process with LG and we unplugged it due to the noise. A few days later, LG told him to to come back and try something again. He did, and it started cooling again. So I restocked. Within a couple of days, it stopped cooling again. Repairman came out again, to run some more tests. So, here I am 5 weeks after the initial repairman visit, 4+ weeks after my refrigerator stopped working all together, and several calls to LG directly getting nothing but the runaround. FINALLY, someone called me back, told me they would be sending a replacement 7-10 business days after they send me a form to fill out and I send the form back. AND, they have the nerve to tell me that I am responsible for disposing of the old refrigerator. SERIOUSLY???? What a joke. This must be the worst customer service experience EVER.

I purchased a home which included appliances including my LG bottom freezer refrigerator (model number LRDC22744TT) this time last year and moved in in August. An internal leak developed in the refrigerator compartment, which was discovered to be a broken reservoir that feeds the water dispenser in the door. The reservoir was replaced by a local serviceman. Here 6 months later, the new reservoir cracks, clearly caused by defect in the component. Their response? Out of warranty. No replacement. LG (or NG, as I now refer to them) and I (and anyone else on Earth that I can persuade) are parting ways.

Still under warranty my refrigerator stopped working after five months. Ive had repair people at my house eight times now in a four month period. Today the repair person walked into my house without knocking or ringing the doorbell. My dog stopped him about 5 feet from the front entrance way. The service call for today was for the repair person to tell me only that the part is on order. Again LG wasted my time. I asked the repair person, Why did you come to my house to tell me this, you couldve called!!! The customer service and the repair people at LG are not trained and do not know how to handle the customers nor does the company know how to stand by their product.I am asking my credit card company to dispute the charge because LG sold me a product that does not work. LG is now lying. Setting appointments without my knowledge. Their documentation is not correct and they say I am canceling my appointment. Executive desk also lies and makes up information and incorrect documentation. One person said that she would send me $150 for my food replacement. Later found out thats no such policy. My refrigerator stopped working December 2016 and it is now beginning of April 2017. My Refrigerator is still broke.

I do not understand how your company can recall a washing machine, put a part in the machine and it is still not fixed but yet your company calls it completed. I am not able to wash my childrens winter coats, raincoats, sporting clothing, bathroom rugs, and everything else that has water proofing including my sons, who is in a crib, mattress bed. I dont understand how your company can call it fixed. I am very disappointed with your company and unless I get resolution to this problem, I will be going to the Attorney General in NYS. I plan also to spread the word regarding the lack of customer satisfaction I received from your company. This is awful to do to customers who made good money for a product. Now, I have to go to a Laundromat to wash my clothes. Does that make sense to anyone who has bought a washer???

Every so often greasy black stuff gets on our wash. I think I found the problem. Inside the tub there are three plastic pieces with little rollers on them. We love the way our stove (LRG3095) looks with its beautiful cobalt oven, but we do not like that two of the burners are weak. I do not need a manufacturer to call one burner a power burner while another will barely boil a saucepan of water. All burners should have been equal, allowing me, the customer, to decide how high to turn the heat. Also, the top control panel sticks out more than 2 inches into the space of the back burners, so you cant really fit four pots on the range at once - extremely frustrating and really cuts into the functionality of this otherwise well-designed piece of equipment.

I had to write 2 letters and make numerous phone calls - LG is a nightmare to deal with. Their customer service people are barely understandable over the phone, and they never follow up on any of my letters. I just emailed the company again and now they are asking for the same documentation already sent them. I had to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the FTC, and the New Mexico State Atty General. The next step will be to sue them in small claims court. This has been a huge waste of time and frustration. I will never purchase an LG product again - a very unprofessional corporation who do not honor their warranties.

I then called LG at 800-243-0000 and told them that I had just read all the complaints about the range knobs, and how upset I am to learn that LG was doing nothing about the problem. We purchased all LG products and all of them have not lived up to our stand
We purchased all LG products and all of them have not lived up to our standards. The biggest problem is the knobs on the gas stove. The knobs should be ruled as DEFECTIVE and DANGEROUS. In my career I travel quite a bit and even though I have adult kids at home sometimes they do not notice when the gas is on because of the broken knobs. The white plastic on the insides have cracked causing the knobs to just turn but not completely turning the stove off. I have contacted LG and I too have been told to purchase new knobs, however you can purchase the knobs but the problem is still not fixed. I noticed that the new LG stoves have knobs that are very steady. Why not just replace the old knobs with the newer model knobs. I pray that before anything happens like gas explosions, gas leaks etc., they would ruled out that the knobs are defective and update all the former customers with the new knobs. A couple of thousand dollars is better than a couple of million for major lawsuits.

I have had 2 service calls and still not fixed. The 1st service was replacing the sensor, 2nd was motherboard and next appt. will be all circuits/fuses on top of the washer which needs replaced from a continuous leak for long time that has caused rust and the serviceman was shocked when touched the unit. I have missed work for each visit, which thought would take care of the problem and be able to use the washer, month plus later.. Im still waiting for this unit to be fixed. LG is a name brand and it should be out of service this long without getting the washer replaced. I can understand if it were couple years old but this unit is barely over a year old. With all these problems this washer was a lemon from the get go and has never worked properly. When I purchased my first BRAND new washer, I did research and bought top of the line or so I thought I did. This has been huge disappointment and LG service center has been disappointment as well. This should have been replaced with a new one. As a single mother and live from pay to pay, this was a big purchase for me. I have 2 kids and laundry mat is the last place I wish to be spending my time and money considered my washer purchase was over 600 and only year old!!! Time and money and loss work time is VERY FRUSTRATING AND UPSETTING! I wish to buy the matching dryer but now Im considering different brand! LG make this right or I spread the word all over the internet media. VERY POOR RATING!!!UPDATE... 2 months later still broke. Will not replace or respond to my 20+ emails to resolutions@lge.com; lg.care@lge.com and website chat was absolutely worthless conversation and would not help me at all! Basically they are live chat with no phone or contact w/lg outside of chat room. So, not sure of their purpose??? ANYWAYS... LG does not care about the consumer. They will not reply! SMH!

Bought the LG front loading washer 4 years ago. Thought it would be better and more cost effective. I have been fighting a losing battle with the rubber gasket from the first year of use! I have followed all the guidelines; keep the door open after use and dry the folds in the gasket. I even leave a small wash clothin the gasket to soak up the water. I use the different products made for cleaning these washers (tide, etc.), but still the black mold and also the odor from the washer is really bad!!! It also takes 3xs as long to wash clothes, so I dont see the saving; maybe use less water, but using more electricity to wash! And, the spin cycle is really loud and the vibration is so bad, that it shakes everything from top of washer to the floor! Wonder if the gasket could be replaced? I will definitely, go back to buying a top loader, as this has been a huge disappointment! S/N 007KWGG06175 Model WM2050CW

Our range is two years old. We purchased an extended warranty. A few months ago, I noticed rust spots on the front of the stainless steel oven door. LG is giving me the runaround on fixing this. The warranty does not cover cosmetic issues, so I had to, after 4 hours on the phone, deal with LG supervisors. I am in the process of waiting to hear if the oven door will be replaced at no cost to me. From what I learned on the internet, this is a common problem in the manufacture of stainless steel appliances, but the companies that sell them refuse to take responsibility for the issue and blame it on the consumer for not taking proper care of the product.

7 years ago (nov 2007) we bought a top of the line LG front loading washer dryer pair on sale for $2936.40 (TROMM STEAM HM2688HWM).. Though never really happy with the cleaning performance -- especially on towels and bedding we finally compromised on using bleach and oxy clean on everything to increase the cleaning efficiency, always used steam, and sent everything else out. Our laundry bill is about $200 a month for a family of three. Additionally we have had to cut back on load size as it doesnt do a good job cleaning if loaded up to anywhere near capacity.Like disappointed we also did a lot of research different brands and found LG was very highly-rated. Obviously they dont include the total life cycle reviews as the feedback on LG would be enough to scare you off ever buying one. LG has failed to take notice of and correct some serious design flaws with their washer and now we have a machine that cannot be fixed because the aluminum door hinges (attached with steel screws to the steel frame) are so corroded from leakage from the additive drawer that after 4 hours the service guy was unable to remove the 6 screws using hand tools, rust sprays, and impact drivers. He just left after letting us know its un-repairable”. The response from LG-- THEY will send an LG technician -- sorry LG wouldnt provide us a contact number -- so no idea what firm -- if its different than the licensed guys they sent last time? To re-assess the licensed LG service guys finding -- at the cost of another $89 USD payable once again by me. After which if he is unable to remove the door hinges we will get a review from second level (see comments disappointed and others on successful outcome from second level -- e.g. slim and None). As an Engineer and vintage car guy, I could potentially drill out the corroded screws holding the door hinges in place and then use larger metal screws with an LG replacement hinge but that is a big job and may not succeed using OEM equipment. The root cause of the corrosion is clearly due to the gap between the additive tray housing and the front plastic cover allowing leakage from the tray to pour down on the hinges, and sheet metal causing rust, corrosion and other issues like Mould/ Mold and mildew in areas you cant really get in to clean or dry out. Frankly its a poor design and has been for some time, the 2014 units have the same flaw. The service folks I polled said the best fix would be to run a bead of silicon on the gap between tray housing and front panel.. would have been good to know 6 years ago. Actually what they said was never buy LG washers as they are prone to problems -- though the service manager said it keep them very busy. How LG CANNOT notice is a mystery. This problem and other design issues for LG washers have been covered on so many blogs and complaint bulletin boards. Perhaps the design team in Korea ignores English postings or is so worried about their war with Samsung that they cant be bothered about consumers and life cycle reliability or even simple fixes like the silicon in the gap. .Be warned when measuring cleaning, these Review labs use much different yardsticks than the rest of us... this is power per cycle with little real world understanding of what clean means to consumers. When you have to wash things twice or more, triple the chemical additives, and use smaller than typical loads to get things clean and avoid mildewy smells in fresh towels there isnt really any savings. Wonder if there is a back door arrangement with the guys (Proctor Gamble others) who make washing additives, as it certainly requires much more additives than any top loader I have had all in the name of HE-High efficiency.Who wants to be flooded out of their second floor laundry room by door leaks. Now I know why in Europe they always had the washer in the bathroom -- oh yeah a floor drain!! Foolishly I thought that sold in America they would have fixed some of the hereditary issues from Europe.. Not really! If you dont mind giving your clothes two washings loaded up with chemicals, having to introduce scent additives in both washer and dryer with sheets and tablets, and the inevitable quadruple maintenance and cleaning, then looks like LG front loaders are for you! Though for my mind all the savings in electricity go out the window when compared to redundant cycles, massive chemical and additive costs, and excessive maintenance.. HE seems a little more like HYPED (false) ECONOMY than high efficiency..WE WILL SEE IF LG REPLACE THE MACHINE AS SUGGESTED BY THE LADY FROM MANILA THAT ANSWERS THE 24 HOUR SERVICE LINE. . BUT LIKE DISAPPOINTED IM NOT EXPECTING MUCH. Nor should you!

Our 2-year old range is rusting, pitting and the enamel is wearing off from the grates sliding in and out. We have an extended warranty with GE, but they said our warranty doesnt cover the issues. They term this as cosmetic. We have had other stoves/ranges over the years and this has never happened. LG also states that cosmetic issues arent covered. In December of this past year, I wrote a letter and mailed it to a location in New Jersey which online had shown it as a corporate office, but never received a response. It would be appreciated if someone would acknowledge my concerns and receive some restitution. I kind of feel bad, because I just read the other reviews, and my complaints are as bad as theirs. However, I am so anxious about whats to come. My story is Im heartbroken at the purchase of this LG refrigerator model# LMXS30776S. We used the money that my mom left us to buy it, and we went to Home Depot many times, looking at the refrigerators to pick just the right one to remember her by, and decided on this LG door in door, December 2016. From the very beginning, the door in door would not open, and would not close properly. We gave it some time, but called in less than a month old. In January, they came out... one of the repairmen said to man -up and dont open it and close it like a girl. When we told him it doesnt open or close, like in the multiple stores we tested, he said, he didnt care about the stores, to give it time to wear in like the stores. I told him I did care that it worked like the refrigerators that I tried out. Again, he said to give it time.We waited for 2 or three months and called another repairman. He came out and basically said the same thing. He said he had the same refrigerator, and it did the same thing. I said, And your wife is willing to put up with this? He said, you get used to it. We waited almost a year and called another repairman from Home Depot (our LG warranty was up.) He came out and said since nothing was broken, he could not fix a door that would open, even if it didnt open correctly. He couldnt fix a rattle in the door or what I thought was the motor, because essentially everything was working (the right temperature, motor not stopped, door opened etc.)He told me thats the way warranties work... things have to be broken, not just not working right. Over $3,000 is a lot of special money to spend on a refrigerator that doesnt work right, but wont be fixed. LG definitely does not stand behind their products. I will not ever buy an LG again, and I so wish I had read the reviews before buying - AND, like I said before, am so nervous now for whats to come.

My French door style LG fridge was purchased around January 2011. While it has worked well, it began making a chug-chug-chug noise periodically soon after. A year and a half later, the noise is becoming constant, though the fridge seems to work all right. Im going to try to learn the cause of the noise and what it means regarding the continuing function of the fridge.

Buyer beware! Rust develops in the top housing of LG washers, starting at the bleach dispenser. It does not matter if you use the dispenser or not, rust will eventually develop there, and elsewhere, on the top and lid of the machine. Eventually rust flakes will get in your wash leaving whites dingy. There is no fix for this problem. It is a result of poor craftsmanship. A class action lawsuit was filed and LG won claiming user problem. Odd how the regular use of their product would be a problem that causes rust. Do not take my word for it alone- search “LG washer rust” and read about loads of frustrated consumers with rust problems starting in the bleach dispenser area, in some cases rusting out altogether. Buyer beware!

I bought a French Door refrigerator in June of 2016. It completely stopped cooling in August of 2018. Called LG who sent me through some basic troubleshooting and gave me phone numbers to technicians that arent helpful. One sound sketchy (answers the phone Hello) and insisted I make an appointment thru a non-existent website or send an email to his Gmail. One said they wont service my town. One has yet to call me back. I called a reputable but non-LG-authorized repair service who said it would cost $1,200 for a new compressor and I would have to deal with LG myself (I think to buy the compressor). Given the reviews about back ordered parts, and lack of authorized techs, Im left to wonder how long I wait for the other technician to call me back, argue in vain with LG or just buy a new refrigerator. Very open to joining a class action lawsuit. I certainly dont make enough money to replace expensive items every two years. Reading up on refrigerators, old fashioned top freezer refrigerators are a whole lot cheaper and fail less often.

I purchased a new LG High Efficiency top load washer, model WT1101CW, on August 12, 2013, for a total of $659.98. On January 19th 2014, 5 months after my purchase the water would not drain from my machine. I had to pull a full load of laundry out and squeeze each dripping piece of laundry in my laundry tub. I called LG and was told that I would have to use a local third party service company to provide warranty service. They put me in touch with a dispatch center to set up a service date of Saturday January 22nd. I remembered that I had purchased an extended service agreement from Best Buy when I purchased the washer, so I then called into Best Buy Geek Squad. They were able to get someone out on Monday January 24th which worked better for me due to my work schedule. Best Buy also assured me that they are authorized to provide warranty service so I decided to use the service from Best Buy.When the technician arrived he discovered that the pump on the machine was not operating at all. He called dispatch and ordered the part, we set up the service for the following Monday, February 3rd. He also told me that if the part did get to me sooner I should call and let dispatch know because it might then be possible to get someone to install the new pump sooner. As of Thursday evening I had not yet received the part. I called to check on the status but was told that the part is on back order and there is no indication of when it will arrive.I am entirely disgusted with this situation. There is absolutely no reason that a 5-month-old machine should malfunction. It is also a new LG model so one would think that parts should be readily available. Unless the pump on this model is defective across the board and that is why they do not have any in stock. Up to this point I have loved everything about this machine. Now I am entirely dissatisfied with the LG product. I have two weeks worth of laundry in a household of four people and there is no indication of when I will be able to do my laundry. I might also add that I live in the Chicago area and we have been having absolutely nasty weather, which is not at all conducive to loading up a car with 5 to 7 loads of laundry to tote back and forth through several feet of snow.I am however satisfied with the help that we have received from Best Buy. They have even offered to reimburse us for our cost to use a laundromat. The Best Buy policy will replace this machine with a new one if it takes 30 or more days to receive the part. While this is wonderful on the part of Best Buy agreement, it is completely unacceptable to me that I will have to be further inconvenienced by LG and have no idea as to how much longer this will take.

I bought LG Refrigerator Model #LFX31925ST about a year ago and all of a sudden it started making this irritating noise that is coming from around the bottom of the fridge. After making so many complaints to LG explaining to them about my problem they were telling me that the fridge was not sitting on a level floor. Making a long story short after a long battle with LG they finally send a technician to fix my problem. He told me to take all the food out of the freezer and he removed the panel that was covering the fan and replaced it with a panel that has a heater. When I asked him why he admitted to me about the design flawed where the fan builds ice and thats where the noise was coming from. He said the new panel has a built in heater so it will not build ice and that he is going around and changing this panel for customers who complain about this problem. For LG not to admit this problem and giving me the run around for more than a year was unacceptable. Had I not bought the extended warranty they would have not bothered to even do anything about it. This is being disingenuous and unfair business practice. So if you have noise problem call LG and ask them straightforward to come and change the panel regardless it being out of warranty or not. Sad but true!

Bought a new white side by side LG refrigerator about 1 1/2 years ago from a local big box retailer. The plastic trim pieces around the electronic controls/water dispenser/ice dispenser have turned yellow. The refrigerator is bright white and the large bezel and drain plate is now a disgusting yellow. I first tried to resolve the matter with an online chat representative who was absolutely clueless. She couldnt even figure out what parts they were on her schematic. She finally gave up and had me complete an online upload form with pictures that I had to take. She said she would call me back after I uploaded the form. I uploaded the form with pictures and after two days no response. So I did another online chat with another agent. I gave her my case number and all she said is Sorry its out of warranty. She gave me the phone number of their parts distributor for the Eastern USA and the girl who answered the phone instantly put me on hold and never came back. This is ridiculous! The trim pieces are about $180.00. So, dont ever buy a white LG refrigerator and if you would like customer assistance on their product - Dont buy an LG Refrigerator.

Purchased this machine in 2010 for over $800. I was told it was fabulous. It was - for a few months. But then we noticed that our clothes were no longer smelling clean. In fact they come out smelling worse than when they went in dirty. There is just nothing that can prepare you for getting out of the shower, grabbing a clean towel and experiencing a smell so sour and disgusting, that you feel as though you need to shower again. They told us that we need to maintain our machine every month. What??? Is this a joke? The energy efficient uses less water machine they bragged about - we are now being told we should run 1 to 3 cleaning cycles, with special, expensive chemicals, EVERY month. EVERY MONTH for the life of the machine. I must do this in order to have clean laundry. Am I the only person who finds this absolutely insane??? I now have to take more effort and money every month to maintain my machine, then it actually took to do my laundry with my old machine. If doing my laundry with an LG washer is going to take this much effort... I might as well drag my laundry down to the creek and scrub it on some rocks. That would actually be quicker and more cost effective and, work better!!! I have called customer service (a bunch of foreign speaking people) numerous times. This last time was the last straw. They do not care for your opinion. They speak to you as though you are the problem. When I explained to the guy that the entire area around my bleach cup has completely rusted - guess what - thats right - it is my fault, and no one else on the planet has had this problem. I called knowing that my warranty is long gone but I told him I just wanted to give them feedback from a consumer about how I felt about their product. But, as you already know he doesnt care. He kept telling me to wash out my machine, and that I dont understand how to maintain my machine. I guess judging from the 100s of 1- star reviews, and similar complaints no one else on Earth knows how to do that either. So here is the bottom line. I own a business cleaning resort units. I have dealt with every machine known to man. I have only ever seen one other machine as junkie as this. I will NEVER buy another LG washer. I will go back to old school, agitator... where my clothes are actually coming out clean, and I never, ever, ever had to wash my machine to keep my laundry coming out the way it is suppose to. PS - you will want to avoid the Whirlpool/Maytag (both the same company now) top loaders as well. They are just as big of a nightmare!!

We have had this machine for perhaps 2 years. I dislike that you cannot wash a very small load or ER, cannot add water first, and over the last many months have been constantly getting WE flags. Loads are now taking 2 to 3 hours to do if I dont stand by and monitor. I have tried all the simple fixes but today was the last straw. One set of king sheets, 4 pillow cases and 2 hand towels 6 ER flags so far 2:10 minutes, switched over to just spin after machine shut down and still got 2 ER flags. This machine does not clean any better than the past machines Ive had without all the bells and whistles. I would take back my old Roper machine that ran for 16 years up to the time I sold my home and never broke once. In fact that is what Ill be doing in the near future back to a machine with no bells and whistles. LG I am sooo disappointed in this product.

Got the LG Range 9 years ago. Recently the range can not turn off. I check with LG, and they said it is in the Recall List, and it is a known issue. They sent the technician and the technician said the part is out of stock. And he will report the issue back to LG. A lady for customer service called me next two days, and she hardly answer my question. Have to escalate to her supervisor and the whole conversion with the supervisor is total disaster. Basically he said, I am the boss, you have to done whatever I told you. Totally not happy with the conversation. And he ask for the receipt, hey, the range was purchased 9 years ago, not sure how many people keep receipt for 9 years, not even the tax receipt. And finally, he said he will order the part, but it will be available on next year Jan. Then I ask for call me back if the part is available, and he said, thats my business, I have to call back myself to check. Wow, how great LG service!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then I asked to talk to his manager, and he said, I am the boss, and I am the last person you can talk to. Can anyone tell me what else I can do?

We purchased a four unit package. Refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and stove. The other units are great but the ovens (both top and bottom) fluctuate so much in temperatures that it takes fifteen/twenty minutes longer to bake anything and then it comes out dry and hard. A service technician replaced the control board but failed to check if it fixed the problem. I purchased a digital oven temperature probe to check it myself. It overshoots the temperature by ten to fifteen degrees and then drops fifteen to twenty degrees before it kicks back on. This cycle continued for over two hours until I finally gave up in disgust.

We even tried to find a repair man in Calgary but none of them worked on LG washers.Trail Appliances, where we bought the unit, is going to charge $90 for a serviceman to come out. I am very upset and very frustrated! In just 2 short years I am having trouble with all of my appliances and am currently waiting on a service call from HHGregg (whom I will never buy appliances from ever again). Found out today that the HHGregg warranty is not as good as the paper on which it is written! One complaint is the LG microwave oven. It stopped working (the plate will no longer rotate and will not heat up). Apparently, there is a default in the design of the LG microwave ovens that fit over the stove. The heat from the stove causes the microwave system to stop working. LG and HHGregg should replace my malfunctioned microwave oven with one without this flaw! No LG told me to contact HHGregg! HHGregg offered me only a 200.00 store credit! This cost does not replace my microwave! I feel robbed by LG and by HHGregg! Shame on both these companies!!!

First review I have ever written but due to the inferior product this company has produced I feel it is absolutely necessary. We purchased this LG Top Loading Washer Model WT5070CW in Sept. 2014 after losing our Kenmore in a house fire. This machine sprung a leak and flooded our house wrecking our new engineered floor. The 5 yr. extended warranty was purchased but that only helps with the repair bill. Home Depot tried to go to bat for us to get our insurance deductible back but no luck. When the repairman came out he said it was one cap that had come unglued and per a call to his superiors he was told to simply glue the cap back on. This was their big fix. First of all, why in the world is there only a glued on cap between the consumer and another very expensive flooded floor repair?! When the insurance company tried to work with them they said they doubted that is even what caused the problem... Really! Im taking this lousy company to small claims but doubt it will do any good. I think what caused the cap to come off is the amount of shaking and rattling this washer goes through during spin cycles! Like all stated before me, dont buy any of their products - absolute garbage! And shame on Home Depot and other companies for continuing to sell their sub-par products!

So excited to renovate kitchen. Never had LG appliance but heard great thin
So excited to renovate kitchen. Never had LG appliance but heard great things so invested in ALL LG appliances: French door fridge, gas range, dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer. Fridge: Linear compressor went out at 9 months. 20 phone calls and runaround before I could get LG to agree to service. Now, 6 months later, FF and E code seemingly freezer fan motor is defective. LG service tells me to unplug it for 8 hours and let it defrost all over My hardwood floors and “just put down towels.” And... If that doesn’t work, you need a new motor. BTW: The fridge to the floor is about 1/2 inch so no room for a towel.Gas’s range: Buyer beware. The knobs to light the stove will ignite if you lean on them and then slight turn. People with small kids are taking the knobs off. That is how easy it is to ignite the stove. Just last night my guest almost caught her sleeve on fire from leaning on a knob when talking to another friend. This stove needs recalled. I have tried but fell to deaf ears. Someone is going to be seriously burned, just a matter of time.Stove: Front started rusting 3 months after I got it. Of course they claimed user error. At that time only had used it about 10 times. Inside looked liked it had never been used. Got some of it off but still can see it. Washer: If you don’t clean the rubber gasket EVERY time you use the washer, water will run out the front. So far, knock on wood, love the dishwasher, microwave and dryer.Have had many defective things before and the difference is the service; standing behind products, great customer service, no hassle. That’s what keeps my business. I understand not everything is perfect, but take care of it and you will keep my business. LG FAILS in ALL OF THE ABOVE. Try to get ahold of them and when you finally do, it turns into us vs. them. Sooo disappointed and sick to my stomach knowing I now have another fail code on my fridge to deal with. I’m going back to Samsung. Much better quality and service.

I needed a fridge at the time it seemed like it was it the best quality fridge out there for the initial price so I really cant complain. It really does run well and efficient. The ice machine is my favorite part. Also the fact that it is a stainless steel appliance means it is easy to clean and just be wiped off for a fast and easy finish. Its an ok fridge all around but the cons would be it smudges easily. I have kids so that is a big concern with me since I dont want people coming over to my house and seeing a dirty fridge people would think Im a slob who doesnt clean my own house. Also the ice machine can be pretty loud but all around its an ok fridge so I dont have any major complaints.

After 2 failed attempts, an independent non-LG tech finally diagnosed compressor failure. LG phone techs may be trained to downplay the situation, because the repair tech said he diagnoses 5 and replaces at least 3 of these a day. They cannot keep up with the work and LG wont hire more repairmen. Took another 5 days for parts to arrive and then schedule a repair day. Meanwhile I am living with NO FRIDGE and now LG says they will NOT reimburse me for the mini fridge we had to buy (not to mention all the bagged ice Ive had to purchase too!) The best we can do is send you a check for $100 for food reimbursement. I spent $1500 on a refrigerator from you and thats the best you can do???Compressor was finally replaced today and repairman said, I dont trust the new compressor either, so dont put any food in it for at least 48 hours till youre sure its operating correctly. Yikes. This has been such a disillusioning experience, I have praised LG products to anyone asking for recommendations, but I will not anymore due to the TERRIBLE customer service I received!! Refrigerators, and appliances in general, are designed these days to break and NOT be repaired. If thats the case, then the price should reflect a disposable product, not the thousands they do cost. LG is not standing behind their product, but rather hiding behind untrained techs who speak so politely, yet do not disseminate truthful information to frustrated customers looking for help from the company they trusted with their hard-earned money. You have lost a long-time loyal customer with many LG products in our home, shame on you...

We called LG to repair a refrigerator that was under warranty. The compressor to the refrigerator is not working (diagnosed by an appliance service that we originally called to repair). I waited on the phone for 35 minutes before someone was able to address the situation. After another 20 minutes I was informed that they only have one service provider in Washington DC and it would be 7 (yes seven!) days for the next appointment. My husband attempted to call again to follow up and was on hold for one hour and 30 minutes (Geisha informed him that he would be transferred to the Executive team) to determine if we could get an earlier appointment or perhaps hire someone else to fix the refrigerator and be reimbursed by LG.This has to be the most incompetent customer service I have ever encountered. They are incapable of answering the phone, make you wait hours to transfer you to different departments, and then make you wait weeks to have your appliance fixed. I will never buy another LG appliance - their customer service and repair service is terrible. Buy another brand, and make sure you ask about the warranty repair timeline - LG apparently thinks a week or more is acceptable. Take your business elsewhere - this company is horrible.

We bought a WT5070CW washing machine a couple years ago. Within a year after purchase, we noticed rust forming where one pours bleach into the machine. We dont use bleach a lot, nor are we excessively hard on the machine. It has continued to get worse and now the inlet cup is pretty much ringed by rust. It is very unsightly, and we know this shouldnt be occurring.

We are having the same experience. Our LG LFXC24726D stopped working yesterday; it is less than 2 years old and cost more than $2,500. We cannot find a local repair person and we are leaving town for three weeks. All of the frozen and refrigerated food is spoiled, and our diabetic sons insulin is about to suffer the same fate, which means hundreds of dollars of medication destroyed. I am a public interest lawyer. Having read the reviews on this page, I am seriously considering filing a class action lawsuit.

Our LG microwave is a low performer compared to our last. It took much longer to heat foods through. The buzzer letting us know it was done was very quiet, but the microwave itself was very loud and annoying (rumbling, rattling and humming). The biggest set back is the touch panel, it is impossible to see the settings since there is no backlight. Unit seems to get very hot as well.

It looks ugly. The shelves in the refrigerator have broken rails. Really, these appliances are only four years old. I have a second refrigerator in the garage thats twenty years old and still in great condition. I paid too much money to have these items look like theyve been through the war!

Life is not good with this LG refrigerator model LFX31925ST/00. We never have any ice. The icemaker had been replaced 3 times in 2 years. Even it works, it is not enough ice for a single person let alone a family. We are lucky enough that we purchased the extended warranty, but that doesnt help the fact that we are inconvenienced all the time with doing without ice for days on end calling repair, staying on hold, waiting for parts from FedEx, then waiting for repair men. Contacted LG... who does not care to say the least. I was told to deal with the puerile I bought warranty from because their year was up.

Purchased an LG gas dryer about 3 years ago to upgrade and be more energy efficient. My old dryer was 15 years old but worked just fine. Two days ago the LG dryer started to make a loud thumping sound. Upon further investigating I found a crack in the drum. I called the LG people and they said the drum has a 1 year warranty. My 15 year old dryer never had a crack. So needless to say I am not too happy about spending more money to repair their poorly made product. The person that I spoke with on the phone said that this was the first complaint about a cracked dryer drum. I think I must have been his first call ever because I can find plenty of complaints on the internet about this issue.

We bought an LG refrigerator because of the size. My wife wanted to go with GE. I convinced her to go with LG. We had multiple issues with the icemaker and then finally within 2 years, the motherboard went bad. It would have cost $500 to fix. We decided to buy a GE for $800 and had not had any issues. I contacted LG saying that their product required multiple repairs and they refused to cover the work. Lastly, we wrote a letter of complaint stating that not only were we disappointed with their product and response, but we have found mounting complaints that were tarnishing their image. Their response was Sorry for your difficulty, but one bad item does not reflect on their image. It does with us. Never buy an LG product. They are garbage.

Avoid if possible. Bought a washer and dryer pair. It arrived fine and the washer seemed to have mounted great. When it came time for the dryer after the installation, the dryer started giving errors about the ducks being blocked. First checked the actual installed duck work, that didnt help; then removed the dryer from atop the washer and removed the exhaust altogether, this also did not remove the issue. Started contacting the LG support, after some back and forth; reset the machine a couple of times and this also caused no breakthrough. They scheduled a technician to come in 3 days from then. The day the service was supposed to be done, I took a day off work and had a 2 hr time slot. The time slot came and when with no technician. Ive contacted the support again about why he did not show up. They provided me with no concrete reason as to why, and no explanation why they didnt even contact me about it. More back and forth on how to solve this issue and as it turns out they cannot even rebook me for another time slot; since there are no open slots. So now, Im two weeks into not be able to use a dryer with no time that a technician can come in to fix it, and support who dont really care if this gets solved. All of this on a $2500 purchase of a brand new set. To summarize avoid buying LG.

Let me start by saying I will never buy another LG product and will warn others to stay away from this manufacturer. I purchased a French Door Refrigerator Model LFX25978 and after approximately 3 years the compressor failed. Although the refrigerator was under a one year warranty, the compressor had a ten year warranty which is one of the reasons I decided to purchase it so I had a glimmer of hope that this repair would be covered by LG. NOT EVEN CLOSE. After very frustrating discussions with customer service I was told that I would have to have an authorized service center diagnose the problem at a cost of approximately $175 and upon their verification, they would send a compressor directly to my home free of charge but I would have to pay for the repair. My total cost was around $800. When all was said and done. HERE IS THE REAL KICKER. Fast forward just short of another 3 years to now and the compressor failed for the second time. Obviously there is a problem with this part that the company is unwilling to address. When I called to see if the company would make some type of accommodation, I was treated very unprofessionally and they would not offer the slightest relief. NEVER AGAIN. POOR QUALITY COUPLED WITH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A VERY BAD COMBINATION.

This is the worst customer service experience I have ever had. As of today, we have had at least two compressors replaced and now waiting for a whole new evaporation system to be installed. Extremely disappointed by the quality and treatment we have received from LG.

LG Top Loader WT1001CW. DO NOT - DO NOT- DO NOT- BUY this washing machine. I agree totally with all the other reviews. It does not fill with water enough to even cover the clothes. There is virtually no agitation to get the clothes clean. Clothes usually remain in the same position in tub during the entire wash process and dry spots remain on clothes.. they didnt even get wet. I have had to rewash loads again just to try to get them clean but still they dont come out clean at all. Spin cycle is crazy and clothes just lay on top. This is the WORST machine ever made. My 83 year old mother purchased an LG refrigerator about 2 years ago. She’s on a fixed income, so this was a significant purchase for her. I advised her to purchase the extended warranty for peace of mind in case something happened. What a joke. The refrigerator stopped cooling—freezer too. We called the repair number on her extended warranty & were told that the soonest they could get a repair technician out was over 9 days away. Well, not ideal, but we figured we could figure out how to make it work. The tech called to confirm the appointment & informed us he had ordered a new compressor to be shipped to her house because “they go out all the time.” Wow. That inspires confidence in the product. The repair day came and went without a tech showing up. When we called to inquire why the no-show & were rudely told that we were supposed to call when we received the parts. Well we saved the voicemail from the tech and there was NO mention of calling when the parts arrived. So they rescheduled the appointment, and again, the soonest available was a week away. The appointment was supposed to be from 1-5. We confirmed this for the 3 days leading up to the appointment. Yes, they assured us, the tech will be there between 1&5. Guess what? Again, no tech, it’s a Friday and the office closed at 5, so no help.Fed up, I called a local repair company. They were able to schedule an appointment for Monday morning. So I call LG to see if they will at least cover the labor for the repair. I’m told that because I didn’t use their “approved” vendor that they won’t cover the repair. Seriously? Clearly the LG refrigerators have a known issue with the compressor going out, but unless you use their “approved” vendor, you are out of luck. After over 7 hours of calls to LG customer service I was finally able to get ahold of the Executive team. Supposedly the approved vendor will be out tomorrow between 1&5. Yeah, heard that before. Fingers crossed they actually show up this time. One way or another, I will NEVER purchase an LG ANYTHING and I will advise EVERYONE I know to do the same. Worst customer service EVER.

I purchased a brand new LG washing machine and dryer approximately 3 years ago. I have a family of three - we never do large loads. I have never placed anything other than clothing in it. I do not wash rugs or large blankets or comforters. I have those professionally cleaned. Recently the washing machine began making really loud noises so I called a service technician. He tells the stainless steel basket has somehow become bent. I was told that there is a lifetime warranty on it as it should never bend with normal use. He suggested that it may have been defective to begin with. I called LG service center and was told it was in fact covered but of course they have no LG technicians in my area to install this basket and referred me to their authorized technicians. It will cost over $600 to replace this basket. When I explained to the rep that that cost was near what it would cost to purchase a new washing machine, she said there was nothing they could do. I have owned several homes and several rental properties and I never had a washing machine stop working after 3 years even with the worst tenants using them. I take care of my appliances and I am appalled that after only 3 years of less than average use, their product will cost $600 to repair. I will purchase a new washing machine and will never purchase an LG product again.

On July 3, 2015 the unit started sparking and smoking and then flames started shooting inside the unit. 4 months old and LG thinks it might be repairable. I dont want that unit in my house. I have spend several hours cumulatively on the phone trying to get a new unit. The unit only cost $200, yet they have sent repair people to my home. The cost of the repair time has exceeded the cost of goods and out of frustration, LG has created a consumer that will never buy another LG product. Worst refrigerator I have ever owned and worst company customer service I have ever experienced. Refrigerator and freezer ($2600, 2 years old, and $500 food loss) failed to cool in October 2013. Had a third party warranty so called them. They sent a tech who said it was the compressor and could not fix it due to the fact that it was covered under LG warranty. Finally got an LG tech to come out only to tell me the same thing and said they needed to order a new compressor that would not arrive for 6 to 8 weeks because it had to come from Korea! Got help to convince LG that they were obligated to have parts available within a reasonable time per trade agreements. Miraculously, they found the part within 2 weeks. Tech came out and installed the new compressor, got the refrigerator running and left. Later, the compressor started getting very loud. I called and complained and was told it was normal. Im here to tell you that it was NOT normal and sounded like a diesel truck idling in my kitchen! After several more phone calls to LG, and speaking with several agents and supervisor with varying degrees of rudeness, I decided to investigate and found that LG had installed the wrong compressor. It took me 2 months to resolve this with LG fighting me and telling me that I was most certainly wrong with my facts. At the vice president level, LG finally acknowledged that they had in fact supplied and installed the wrong compressor. Another compressor was ordered and a tech finally came out and installed it. A couple months later the refrigerator stopped cooling again. I spoke with several LG personnel again to convince them that a tech needed to come out again. Finally about 2 weeks later a tech did come and verify once again that the compressor was bad. Long story short, another compressor was installed and failed again within a couple months. I then began requesting a replacement or refund. This process was a nightmare filled with rude and uncooperative LG personnel, along with 2 more tech visits that were apparently aimed at disproving my claims. In the end, LG refunded my money, but did not reimburse any food loss. The entire process started October 2013, and ended in April 2014. I have never before experienced such pushy and rude customer service as I did with LG. I know that if I had not been as proactive and persistent as I was in seeking a resolve to this matter, I would have received nothing from LG! They are the worst company! I unfortunately own a couple more newer LG appliances, and hope every day that they continue to run. I will probably just throw them out if I have issues with them rather than deal with LG. I will never again buy another LG product.

Spending nearly $900 on my LG washing machine was the single biggest waste of hard earned money I’ve ever experienced. This thing is not worth the box it came in. It’s the worst household appliance I’ve ever owned. Since my purchase I’ve read countless reviews saying the exact same thing. It’s not at all unusual to spend between 12 and 36 hrs to actually get a load of clothes washed after continuous malfunctions. We are literally hauling it to the landfill. This machine would be an insult to give to someone else. I will most definitely not ever purchase another LG product. BE WARNED... Do your research and check reviews before wasting your money on any type of LG washing machine. This product doesn’t even deserve 1 star.
