We bought our LG range from American in 2008, and just months after, the knobs began to pucker and wrinkle. American had gone out of business by then, so we called LG. They said $60+ each for replacements - there are 5 knobs. We decided to live with it until we could find something quality and less expensive, which we havent. Now the chrome-colored wrap is peeling off to reveal a plastic knob...and the High-Medium-Low is on the wrap! The range has otherwise been fine, but cheap knobs will cause us to seek another range.

LG wt5001c Bad Washer. Purchased in 9/12 at HD with 3 year extended warranty. After 2 yrs I had issue with motherboard. Then 1 year later I had issues with transmission and drive which was replaced. Now 1 year later the tub wont stop filling. I had to replace the LG with a new washer instead. Repairmen mentioned to me that quality control has been slipping from manufacturer due to mass production.

I purchased the entire suite. After 1 year all the range knobs broke and cracked. To buy new ones its over 300 dollars. Then the microwave went out so we replaced it with a good brand. The dishwasher doesnt clean the dishes and stays wet inside continuously. The refrigerator, all the bottom drawers have broken and now the rubber around the doors has cracked and broken. Once these breakdown I will replace with another brand. I have gone back to the retailer with no resolution. LG is the worst brand for appliances. They only last maybe a year and then one by one issues come up.

We purchased an LG front-load washing machine in April. The drain hose became kinked in August so the washer would not drain. Called LG customer service on August 23 to have drain hose replaced. Twelve calls and 3 months later, still not replaced. Get the run-around with each call. Please, if you value your sanity, do not purchase an LG washer.

The power button on the washer will not turn on, you have to unplug it then plug it back in after 2 minutes, it will then run one cycle. Called the 1-888 number for Canada helpline to run a diagnostic test with the phone tones using the washer. I honestly believe this is a trick to get you to call and have them try to sell you more warranty. They were no help whatsoever, the information on YouTube is much better and in the end, I ordered the part and repaired it myself for 1/4 the cost. There should have not been any costs for a 2-year old washing machine used by a family of 4! Dont BUY LG WASHERS.

One of the dangerous times was when I woke up in the middle of the night smelling gas. The knob on the stove for the burner had turned on slightly without my knowledge. The whole house was filled with gas. This happens frequently but I am normally aware of it when it happens. Any time I lean against the stove or I am trying to clean it, the knobs turn on. This would be EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WITH PETS OR SMALL CHILDREN.

Horrible customer service. Our new LG fridges ice maker quit working. I called to have it repaired. My appointment took 2 weeks and was between 7-9AM. I received an automated call on the morning of my appointment saying the tech would be there at 7AM. The tech called approximately 7:30AM and said hed be here in 1/2 hour. He never showed. I called again and the agent said he tried calling me 3 times and came to the house. I did not receive another call from the tech after the initial call saying he would be here in 1/2 hour. He never came to my house, my front door was open. I did not have a radio or TV on and he never came to my house. The agent said he could come back in 10 days. I asked for a supervisor and was told one would call me back in a couple of hours. Unbelievable! I am cutting up my Sears cards and will never buy anything from Sears again. I took a day off of work to be here. We are remodeling our kitchen and have to buy all new appliances and we now will not be buying them from Sears. This has been a frustrating and unprofessional experience.

I have purchased several LG kitchen appliances. The overall quality is good, lots of convenience features and pleasant appearance. When they are working they are great. However if you ever need LG repair service have patience. They are the worst for scheduling your service and even worst still to actually get a technician to your appliance. This means that you are without the use of your appliance for up to 90 days or longer. Also the appliances are expensive and the warranty is only 1 year, which is standard and really burns me. When you spend nearly $2000 for an electric stove and the manufacturer only puts a 1 year warranty on it, that says something about how it was made and the level of confidence the manufacturer has in their product. I prefer American made products but sadly there aren’t many major appliances that are American made anymore.

W2277 tromm washer - Pay a premium price for an appliance, then buy an extended warranty to cover the problems in the first couple of years (and there were several), then the whole thing needs to be replaced just before year 5. Now you can go shopping again and repeat the whole process over again. Wash-rinse-repeat. Tub bearing, tub, carrier... I can buy new for the repair cost. Got to spend $150 for the bad news. And I have to have the carcass hauled off.

This the worst dryer I have ever had! Wish I had never bought it. It started having problems immediately shutting off 5 minutes or less as soon as started with smaller and larger loads even with normal loads sometimes on every cycle except speed cycle which is the only cycle that you can adjust the time and temp on. I called LG and they conned me into thinking it was ok by doing some bogus test over the phone. The dry sensor is in the lint filter which is so narrow there is no way to clean it properly, it gets clogged easily so the sensor can’t tell if clothes are dry or wet and she told me that it was a problem anyway with larger or smaller loads, wtf? My sensor was not even dirty then. I have tried cleaning the filter case and it is impossible, it is too narrow to get my small hands in and too narrow for any of the numerous vacuum attachments I have tried. This is the worst design I have ever seen in my life!!!!I called for service finally with an extended plan with PC Richard and they were terrible.. Poop had gotten in the dryer and was in the filter case and he refused to remove the whole thing or even show me how to do it. He stuck a brush in and then turned it on and huge amounts of stuff went into the exit pipe, but it is still full of gunk and lint. He was not able to clean it properly with a brush either or just couldn’t be bothered.I wish I had returned immediately and bought a Speed Queen which will be my next dryer. I will never buy an LG product ever again and I may not purchase at PC Richard again either. Neither is helping at all yet with this situation. LG offered to send their own tech out after I demanded to speak with a supervisor, but she said I would be charged if they determined it was not a mechanical, etc. issue. Well, guess what, it IS a mechanical issue because of your crappy design. This is a terrible design flaw and the company does not stand behind their product and now apparently neither does PC Richard who we have purchased everything from for years.

Gas Range LSSG3016ST - I have owned this range only 3 months, but I am very frustrated with the moaning whistle noise that comes from the unit the entire time the oven is in use and for 15 minutes or so after the oven shuts off. I thought maybe when it was used a few times it would stop but it hasnt. It is not horribly loud but loud enough I can hear it throughout the kitchen and it really gets on my nerves. I would think for a $2000.00 oven it should be quiet. I am talking with customer service and will write another review per their response. As of this time I am not a happy camper and think this will be my last LG purchase.

So we splurged and bought one of those washing machines with all the bells and whistles. Rust formed around the bleach dispenser after just over a year. This is completely unacceptable. It continues to grow daily and is not cosmetic to me. I have never had a washing machine rust out on me, what will this look like after 3 years? 5 years? If it lasts that long. There were some huge lawsuits back many years ago with auto manufacturers and rusting vehicles. Maybe an attorney should look into a class action suit against LG. A $1200 washing machines shouldnt rust. If they do, you should get relief from the company not the runaround.

I own an LG refrigerator (model number LR FD 22850 SW), French doors style and with a freezer on the bottom. One day my wife called me and said that the fridge is running hot and the lights stay on, even with the doors closed. I told her to disconnect the power and remove the light bulbs, until I get home. I later found out that the light sockets were very dark and burnt. The plastic lens cover and plastic base were also melted by the light bulbs. I got replacements from Sears’ parts website. I got them the very next day, and replaced all bad parts. After four hours, the fridge started to get hot again--the same problem. I had placed a thermometer inside to monitor the temperature while it had no lights. The temperature was steady at 37 degrees. Four hours later, with the lights on, the temperature reading was 89 degrees. Lots of foods were spoiled, and the plastic parts melted again. So far I have removed the lights, and the temperature is going back to normal. I believe I am not the only one with this defective appliance.

Oh boy!!! Thank goodness i read these reviews. A few weeks ago i cooked spaghetti and the lg micro above the stove stopped working - control panel out except for : showing. Inside light still on. Left it alone and next morning i played around with door. Voila - number 8 came up on its own. Then one by one things began working again. Last night i cooked spaghetti again. Yep - did it again. Mind you - i am NOT using the micro to cook. But the micro gets so hot from the oven and i believe overheats the micro panel. Again, i unplugged it and went to bed. This morning it again took some fiddling and eventually a beep. So i was able to turn on the light (my main purpose in needing it to work - i need a light on that side of the kitchen). So i reset the time, etc. But as i am reading these scary reviews, the number 2 just popped onto the screen. After reading these reviews, i know it will eventually stop all together. But why i am SO glad that i read these comments is that i will now unplug it whenever i go out or go to bed at night. LG needs to step up to the plate and do a mass recall with a free replacement of another brand until they can get it right. Obviously no one wants another one of these. Who is with me on a class action suit?Thank you all for taking the time to report the extreme dangers of this unit. You probably just saved my house from burning down!!

I bought an LG refrigerator 1 Year and a half ago. It started to make a noise like a plane about to take off. I called Customer service and was told that it was the fan and needed to be manually defrosted. I had never heard such a thing since the 60s. My parents had a Kenmore refrigerator for 50 years and never once had to manually defrost it. So I did as told and removed everything from the fridge, unplugged it and left it open for 10 hours. I dried the bottom, cleaned it and turned it back on. The noise was gone. Two months later the noise is back. I call customer service back and they tell me its user error, that I am leaving the door open too long or not shutting it correctly. They will send a tech out for $125. So I tell the guy its not user error and he tells me then I need to manually defrost. I tell him I have never heard of such a thing for a fridge in 2021 needing to be defrosted every two months. So ask him, Are you telling me I have to defrost this thing every two months? And he says, Thats not what I said. Yes..Thats what youre telling me. If the tech comes out here for $125 and finds it just needs to be manually defrosted then I will be charged for him to do what Im supposed to do every 2 months!!! So in other words this expensive piece of junk needs to be manually defrosted every two months. Worst purchase I have ever made and worst customer service. Save your money and buy another brand because they do not stand behind their products at all. Now Ill have to buy another fridge and have this carted off as scrap metal because I cant sell it to another person knowing it is defective...Im not LG.

Run away any LG products as your appliance. Horrible idea. Purchased this refrigerator (LG LSXS26326S) February 2016, not even two years old. The ice maker had gone out, no error code. THEN, the entire unit stopped being cold, again - no error code. Have lost everything in both compartments, and been advised from other techs, Good luck. Have called the wonderful customer service now 8 times, and keep getting bounced back and forth between Warranty and Customer Service.Ran the app for the LG fridge that does the sound to diagnose the issue, nothing is wrong with the fridge per the LG app. THEIR OWN PRODUCT IS BEING DIAGNOSED AS NO ISSUES BY THEM! (Yes, the door has to be open to use this app, but thats it). Was told that the unit is still under parts warranty... However by the time a service call will be had, someone out, we are fully expecting multiple calls and nothing to be resolved. Issue is the only LG authorized repair tech is 3-4 weeks out, for there are only TWO (2) in the entire state.Had another tech come out and was told the issue is the sealed system. Everything looks fine, no codes, just not working. This unit is garbage and was, still available with Lowes & Home Depot, for $1400. Dont waste your money on LG. Like every other consumer on this thread, avoid LG. Am now back on hold with customer service for was disconnected when they transferred me from Warranty to Customer Service. Never, ever again.

I received delivery from Home Depot of my LSG4513ST range on December 16, 2020. I immediately began smelling gas when the range was on, but was told that this was normal and that the oven had to run for a while and it would dissipate. The gas smell did not dissipate and was and is detectable by my gas meter. Home Depot was not able to get anyone out to my home to check on the range until 12/31. On 12/31, the plumber/gas fitter came to my home, inspected the range, and said that it was defective and would need to be replaced. I was told that I had to contact LG myself which I did. It took LG until 1/4 to send their representative who is ASAP solutions. ASAP solutions inspected the range and said that it needed a new igniter and manifold. Evidently, there was what they call a “bulletin” on this new $2200 range. In other words, it had defective parts that were known to be defective when I purchased the range which I waited multiple weeks for as it was on back order. In fact, the range wasn’t even manufactured until October of 2020 and was shipped from Korea. Instead of replacing the range, the LG representative from ASAP solutions said they were going to replace the igniter and manifold. I was told that it would be at most a week to order the parts and repair the range. That week has now come and gone and The LG subcontractor is not even answering my emails as to when this will be resolved. I would just like to add that I understand that we are in the middle of a pandemic and that it is not business as usual. I have had to have numerous people come to my home at the expense of my own family’s health to go through this process to still not have a working range. I have not had a working range since December 16, 2020 prior to the delivery of this very expensive range that has never worked, and by the way, I purchased an extended warranty. If I may, I would also like to add that my family has had to go without a range during the holidays and there seems to be no resolution in sight.

I purchased an LG refrigerator on 5/19/13, model # LFX3194ST, and purchased the 4-year warranty. On 8/14/15 the freezer and then the fridge began to thaw and re-freeze. I called the warranty service and had an appointment scheduled for 8/18/15 between 8-12. The repair technician showed up at 1:30, and after doing diagnostics, said I needed a new compressor (on a refrigerator 2 years old). He ordered the compressor and said it would be delivered on 8/19/15 (and I am sure it is likely a refurbished compressor), and it did arrive, and is still sitting on a bench where I left it in boxes. The technician, Hugo **, then scheduled a 12-4 appointment to replace the compressor on 8/20/15. On 8/20/15, Hugo called at 3:30, and said he had an emergency and needed to reschedule. He rescheduled with me to arrive between 11-12 on 8/21/15. At 2:00 pm on 8/21/15, I called him, and he said he would be over in about one hour. I called him again at 3:15 pm, and he again said it would be about an hour. I had an emergency of my own arise, and called to see where he was at around 4:15 pm, and he said he could be by in 15-20 minutes. I asked if he could wait and come at 5:00. He agreed, but said the visit would take 2-3 hours, which I find to be a long estimate of time when the part is already available. He was angling to reschedule, so I asked when he could. He said he could be over the next morning at 9:00 am, so I decided to allow the reschedule. He never showed or called.I called the warranty department through Lowes to complain. I was told I needed to deal with this technician and take a slot on Monday from 8-12, or I could start over with a new company. They also said the company that was supposed to come has one technician, Hugo, and that he does not work on the weekend, so the warranty rep said, he lied. The next appointment for another company (only other company offered) was 8/28/15. If I started with a new company, the compressor at my home could not be used. So my choice is to take the appointment (like I really believe he will show) or start over. I did work out that I could call another company, but I would also need to start over and bill Lowes. I was also told I could get a rental refrigerator and bill Lowes. Highly doubt I would ever see the $, and the hassle factor would be very high. They have you coming and going.I will NEVER buy anything LG again, and will likely never shop at Lowes again. This warranty is sold by Lowes and they should be bending over backwards at this point due to their poor choice of vendors. No bending noted, so no future business from me. Steer clear of LG and Lowes as far as I am concerned. I included the warranty program # below.

I bought the machine two months ago and noticed my white clothing was coming out gray. I changed the soap and the settings (chose hot and heavily soiled), and it’s the same thing. I opened the machine during the wash cycle, and the water was consistently cold while the water in the sink by the machine is very hot. The technician from the store where I purchased the machine came out and found it working correctly; however, he also agreed that the water would not get hot. I called LG and discovered that the CW in the model number stands for cold water. In other words, this machine is designed to use lukewarm or cold water. That’s strange! I thought hot water was helpful in the washing process. I am now doing battle to exchange this ridiculously designed machine for one that will actually clean my clothing, and I wont give up until I have a replacement. No one in the appliance store understood what CW meant. They thought the W was for white in color. Good grief! By the way, the dryer isnt wonderful either.

After just over a year (warranty expired, of course), two of the knobs cracked inside the holes and will no longer turn the burners on correctly. Within the first year of owning a new LG gas range, the 5-burner control knobs were breaking where the knob slides onto the shaft of the gas control mechanism. I tried repairing it myself and it worked for a while, but now they are so bad they need replacing. Why can it not be made of metal? This simple solution would solve the problem. While searching various parts replacement sites, the knobs are over $70.00 each to replace, 5 x 70 = $350.00 for knobs? Is this customer service and support after the sale? I am so disappointed in the quality of these knobs and the expense to replace them that I may replace the whole range on principle and never purchase an LG product again, of any type. What happens when I put the new knobs on and they crack and break? Another $350.00 in todays dollars for knobs? I dont think so. I have checked around and there are no replacement knobs of better quality available. LG needs to get their act together. After almost one and a half year only, now all the 5 valves and burners are bad and thank God I bought the extended warranty which is covering that problem. The only reason I bought this stove was the look and then I assumed that since it is an expensive stove, it must be good. But beware everybody, do not buy this product! I will keep on saying that until they fix my stove either by replacing it for once and for all. But at least I found a nice rep who promised to send me 5 new knobs as they have upgraded those knobs with metal inserts. Lets see if theyll work or not!

My new fridge (LG LFX31925SW) looked great. Had the features I wanted at what I thought was a reasonable price $2300. Then crap happened. Within the first year I had two failures. A circuit board failed and the fans for the freezer would get covered with ice and failed. That was covered under warranty. No coverage for lost food. Fast forward 3 years and I had a similar experience as many others described with a failed compressor. $385 service call. When I brought this up at lunch with my co-workers every one of them mentioned having issues with an LG product. Needless to say I would never recommend or purchase an LG product again at any price.

I bought an LG front load washer and dryer set in 2009, its now 2 years later and guess what? My washing machine is very load during the spin cycle and it wont even spin unless its a small load. It shakes like crazy! It also constantly smells like mold. It does not spin all the water out. This has slowly gotten worse since the day it was new. Never stays level! Now for the dryer. It constantly has to be cleaned out because it gets plugged with lint. Also, it makes a loud thumping noise. I bought the set from home depot. They wont help. Ive complained to LG who either gives you the runaround or hangs up. For the 2000 dollars, I spent on the pair, what a crap! For the way they looked and were sold to me they should work great. I think these were designed and assembled by child labor. Can you please help me?

Now it is costing me time and money due to the high maintenance of cleaning the washer so it will clean the clothes. The smell is unbearable. It’s got to go.

I purchased an LG electric range in 2008 model LRE30451SW/SB/ST. Towards the end of the first year I noticed at times that things on the touchpad didnt work. As time went on, this happened more often. I went to the appliance store and was told more information was needed. Several months passed before it goofed up again. I reported it. He called to LG but was frustrated with their response. The stove then worked again for several months when the problems slowly became worse. Sometimes turning off the breaker at the circuit panel would correct the problem. It finally arrived at the point where nothing worked on the stove. I called the company myself and was given the run-around.Of course, everything was my fault. Dont buy an LG appliance. They dont care about the customer.

Bought a Kenmore elite (this one is just a LG under the Kenmore name) back in July of 2017 for $2400. Compressor is dead. Freezer doesnt freeze and refrigerator does not get cold. Sears sent a tech out and he quickly determined its the LG compressor issue. Parts are covered but it will be $487 to replace compressor, dryer filter and 3 way valve. Oh and there are plenty of accounts of it just failing again in a few months. UGH... Never LG anything again. You have been warned!

Refrigerator model LMX 28988ST - The manual for the appliance states that all sealed components are covered by a 7 year warranty for parts. Our freezer failed and on calling LG, we were required to pay $195 under their One Price program for all parts & labour associated with the service call. The technician deemed that the part was not repairable and that the entire appliance has to be replaced. LG now claims that the paperwork side of this takes 10 business days to resolve and we will only get a Prorated value of the appliance. To me, its simple - a part covered by warranty must be repaired, replaced, or the consumer otherwise kept whole. One thing is certain - I may be forced into a replacement LG unit, but is the last LG product of any kind I will ever buy.

I purchased my washer 7/17/2014. On or about 3 weeks ago I noticed a little puddle of water on the floor. I didnt think much about it, then the next day I was washing a load of clothes, and the little puddle became a flood. I called Lowes, Moreno Valley, California where I purchased the machine, and told my salesperson what had happened. he stated, Lets just bring out a new one. That sounded like a good idea since the machine was less than 2 months old. Then I was told, We have to have a tech come out and see what the problem is, before we can do an exchange. Ok, well the tech was scheduled for the next week. I work, so I had to arrange for someone to be at my house for the tech. (in the meantime - Lowes did send out a loaner machine, I have to do laundry. So the tech came out, and because the machine was not hooked up, he said he couldnt do anything and Lowes would have to have someone come and put the washer back in the laundry room. I called and spoke with my salesperson. So now they are going to send another tech out and will have their people come and hook up the washer. The men that came out and took the loaner away and put my washer in the laundry room, managed to put a scratch on the front of my washer. The next day the tech arrives, he tells me there is a hole in the pump, and he will have to order the part. I call Lowes, and am once again told that they will send out a loaner until my washer can be repaired, so here it is Friday 3 weeks later, no washer, and told that Lowes will have someone come out and paint the scratch. First the manager said he would knock of 10% of what I paid for the machine. Is he crazy? I had a new machine, looks like a used one. My complaint is with both LG and Lowes. Both places have given me the runaround, and the worst customer service.

I was happy with the young man that repaired our refrigerator. He was professional and completed his work within a timely manner. I was disappointed in LG for not trusting me, I told the lady the compressor was not running. The fan and lights were working, just not the compressor. The temperature in the refrigerator was 65 degrees plus. I also told her I had heard the compressor running loud a few days before and now nothing. If the lady at LG had trusted me, the part could have been ordered and here or with repairman when he arrived here the first time and I could have my refrigerator repaired and running a week earlier. I am all not happy that repairs had to be done within the first few years of owning it. I understand that this is a regular occurrence on refrigerators now. Disappointed in the integration of the companies putting in place planned obsolescence. I have a 25 year old refrigerator that is still running and has never had repairs done to it. The big profits for the companies, is not good for the consumers or the landfills. I am thankful for the warranty that did cover the parts and the lady at LG for covering the labor repairs. I am just sorry that I have to be without my refrigerator for a extended period of time.

After 15 years of waiting and saving our money, we finally decided to buy a large size LG refrigerator. We bought one LG large size fridge (Model No - GL-378PLQ4) with 2 extended warranty from Croma store on 30th April 2014. But from day one, only we started facing having cooling problem with fridge. We lodge 2 complaints within 2 weeks and every time they concluded that the Fridge is OK at their side. But when we lodged complaint 3rd time on 17th May 2014, the LG engineer found that yes, there is some issues with compressor and need to get it repair.Since its newly purchased fridge not even one month old, we requested them to replace it. Yes, the product has 3 years warranty. Then they finally started their game. Mr. Sandeep **, senior associate in LG office in Vaishali, promised us to get fridge replace within 2 weeks. But whenever I called them, either they are processing my request or in process state. Later on Mr. Sandeep ** informed me that the company has stopped production of this model and they dont have similar piece now. He assured me to return my money and got ready to initiate the process to refund our money.Again after having so many calls, Mr. **, Senior customer executives collected one cancelled check and they took signed on their document as part of their money refund process. May month was already gone and it was mid of June. Every time I called to LG customer executive person to request them if they can get the status of my request from Local LG executives. Later on, ** associate that handles replacement request called me up and said they cant refund my money, and will provide me another alternate model. Though I was not ready to accept after having such bad experience with them, still I got convinced and asked them to provide me a model at least with same configuration. Since we have already paid for that.I also talked to Mr. **, head of LG department. He convinced me that they will provide me a better model with better configuration than the one I purchased. They offered me LG Model GL- D372RLJM. Since we have been already frustrated from last 2 months with having *N* of calls to all senior/junior executives, I didnt had power to check on LG showroom now. Since they all were saying its latest model than your last model and its much costly than your one. I trusted them and asked them to deliver it. Finally on 3rd July, 2014 they delivered alternative LG model which was of medium size. Its one row less than our one. I called Ms. ** and asked her to take it back and said its not on agreement on what we convinced. She said they will look into the matter and will try to resolve it asap.I called many a time to LG customer executives, Ms. **, Mr. **. But I didnt receive any response. Then after one week, Mr. Sandeep called me stated that they cant do anything now because we accepted their replacement fridge and signed on their documents. And secondly, its being one week now and its too late to raise your voice on this. I tried to convey my message to them and said, Sir, Ive been calling to all of your executives since first day only when you kept your replaced fridge and ** knows all of this incidence. But he didnt agree and said they cant do anything now. Its not cheating and what we call it now. Company has stopped making more model of what we purchased. Thats not customer fault and why customer has to compromise with medium model in that case. I request to this forum if someone can listen my voice and do some justice to us.

When I bought my house 2 years ago we purchased all LG products. When I say
When I bought my house 2 years ago we purchased all LG products. When I say all I mean ALL! Televisions, sound systems, wall ovens, dishwasher, water, dryer, cooktop, fridge, DVD players and EVERYTHING. From the beginning I have had a small leak at the bottom of the washer door. The technicians have been out several times but they say it is a known issue on the LG doors. Apparently even 1 piece of dog hair can cause it to leak. I try wiping the door down every time but that works intermittently at best. My mother has a Whirlpool and several dogs and she never has an issue with hers and only wipes the door when she cleans the washer once a month or so. Needless to say having to keep a rag in front of your washer is extremely frustrating, but what really got me was the customer service.I say customer service but it is really a complete absence of it. When I called them about the issue and that the techs say it is a known issue they claimed my service company was not a factory authorized provider. (They are the largest appliance dealer in the state and only service what they sell because their techs are all factory trained and authorized.) So, I ask them to schedule a visit from their factory tech. 1 week later they email me the contact info for their supposed factory service company. It is a computer/IT company that only services phones and computers! When I called LG back they did not understand why their factory service center outdent work on the washer. So I asked to speak to a supervisor.Sorry for the run on but the supervisor conversation deserves its own paragraph. From the beginning he made it clear he did not care a bit. I explained I had had the service company out several times and it is a design flaw. He disputed that and I explained the techs say this is a common issue they get called to look at. He informs me we are not talking about anyone elses washers but mine. I explain I have over $10,000 worth of LG appliances and this is the one giving me trouble. He tells me since it is out of the year manufacturer warranty nothing can be done. I recommended a 50/50 split on the purchase price for a credit towards the new washer I have to buy. He said they wont do anything and this is not their problem and then hung up on me.Stay away from LG products completely! Even though a few work well, (their wall oven is awesome), the customer service is absolutely horrid. I have never been treated so badly by any company before, even for issues with inexpensive items they at least are courteous and polite, regardless of the end result. LG will be laughing all the way to the bank after you buy your inferior product and we are probably lucky they even bother to answer the phone. Then again, not being able to reach them might actually leave you less frustrated than getting a hold of them.

Consumers beware when purchasing an LG appliance! If you are remotely mechanically inclined and prefer to save money and repair things yourself, LG is not the manufacturer for you. A little over a year ago LG decided that they will not sell replacement parts to the general public forcing you to call an authorized service center to come to your house at your expense to repair your appliance no matter how small or simple a fix.Recently I needed to replace an $8 tumbler roller on our LG Tromm dryer that had worn and was making noise. It is about a 30 minute fix and requires a screwdriver and two wrenches. LG Canada nor any of its authorized service centers would sell me the part even though I had already removed it and was ready to install a new one. The parts are sold in the USA but every company that sells the part will not ship to Canada. My only options are to either bend to these unfair practices by LG or junk the dryer and buy a new one - albeit a different brand!

It was sold to me at a good price point for the features that it has. The store employee also recommended this refrigerator to me. It has met all of my expectations since purchasing it. Built in ice maker, sleek black color, water filter system, doors open outward, pretty big freezer. It keeps my food from spoiling. My washer is just over 3 yrs old and the bearing went. When I called LG to explain the problem they told me that the parts were under warranty but the service call wasnt. So they would charge me for a service call and the labor!! And then they went on saying and if it is something else other than the motor/bearing or parts that are covered then we will be responsible for the parts. All that is wrong is a bearing went and it should be covered a 100%. She goes on saying if you read page in your owners manual it goes over what is covered and that we dont cover service calls or labor. She was very rude and no help at all. I feel a washer should last longer than 3 yrs. I take exceptionally good care of my things and LG just falls apart. I am now looking into other companies that do repairs on appliances cause after reading other peoples horror stories I dont want any of their rude, unprofessional, crappy employers stepping foot into my home. LG True Balance washing machine - We purchased this machine brand new and was told it was top of the line in terms of quality and capacity. It was also at the top end of pricing. We have been dissatisfied in every way. It takes hours to complete a wash cycle and the only chance you stand of getting through a wash cycle without machine stopping every 10 minutes and showing an error code is if you wash like items, ie only towels or only jeans... and then you still often times have to reposition at least once. Many times I cant get the load to finish and have had to remove and wring out by hand soaked and dripping items from machine. We have balanced it every way possible and done all recommended troubleshooting. Techs say just wash like items... not realistic to wash that many separate loads. Would love to hear if anyone has figured out how to fix this issue.

I have contacted customer service via the telephone and email, but have gotten nothing but excuses. Our 2-year old range is rusting, pitting and the enamel is wearing off from the grates sliding in and out. We have an extended warranty with GE, but they said our warranty doesnt cover the issues. They term this as cosmetic. We have had other stoves/ranges over the years and this has never happened. LG also states that cosmetic issues arent covered. In December of this past year, I wrote a letter and mailed it to a location in New Jersey which online had shown it as a corporate office, but never received a response. It would be appreciated if someone would acknowledge my concerns and receive some restitution. New LG Washer Never worked. Leaks and jumps around in spin cycle. This new washer has never successfully washed one load of clothes. The first time we tried to wash a load of clothes, it flooded our washroom. When it entered it spin cycle, it jumped around on the floor and hit the dryer. We contacted Home Depot (where we purchased it along with matching dryer and extended warranties). They immediately started putting us off on a repair shop, LG, and had the delivery company insurance take responsibility for the flooding. The repair shop is so busy that we were not able to get an appointment for 3 weeks. They have tried to repair this washer four times UNSUCCESSFULLY. Each time it takes two to three weeks for the next service appointment.LG does not want to bear any responsibility for producing a faulty, dangerous washer. Each time we try to speak with them they never return calls or put us off on Home Depot, who put us off on them and the Repair company. This is a new Washer that has never washed a load of clothes with an extended warranty. This has been the worst customer service experience we have ever had and the fact that it has come from two major Companies (LG and Home Depot) is really surprising. We thought we were buying the greatest washer ever when we purchased the LG Top Load washer WT4870CW. It boasted inverter driven technology and was not supposed to go out of balance and could handle larger loads. From the very beginning, it took at least 2 - 3 hours to complete one load of laundry. The machine would go out of balance almost every time it tried to extract. We were cautious about washing like-weight items in an attempt to complete a load with less than five trips downstairs. Now, the washer wont even drain. We ordered a new drain pump and replaced it, but we still get the OE error every time it tries to drain and extract. The drain hose has been checked for kinks and there are none and there is nothing blocking the drain pump or hose. This is extremely frustrating! We spent far more money for this washer than others would have cost. Unless there is a recall or LG shares a suggested fix with everyone, I guess its time to throw the $800 machine away and buy something new. It most certainly wont be LG. I will never own another LG product again! I hope others learn from my mistake.

I WILL NEVER BUY AN LG PRODUCT AGAIN! Bought the best energy saver machine LG had on the market. Bought the dryer to match. Has been horrible from day one! Leaking big problem. Sensors costing between $82-$100 EACH to replace. AND there are 5 to 6 per problem. LG could care less. How do these people remain in business??? Every repairman I called told me to throw it out in the trash before it drains you dry forgive the pun. LG SHAME ON YOU!

My gas range was purchased in 2011. The oven igniter has quit working. My husband is handy so we tried to purchase the part cant. We were then told by a appliance repair company that they couldnt purchase the parts either and werent authorized to work on the appliances. So I had to contact LG and make an appointment for their tech to come and fix it. It took 6 phone calls and 2 email attempts to contact someone and book an appointment. If I would have known that any issues would have to be handled directly with LG I never would have purchased one of their products. I will never again purchase an LG product !!!!

We bought an LG LFX31925ST French Door refrigerator in January 2012. It has operated flawlessly. Both my wife and I have frequently commented on what a great purchase this was. We recently observed a periodic error message indicating that a freezer fan was failing. Since I dont expect anything mechanical to run forever, I was happy that the product pointed me to the likely problem with an error message. I was impressed that I was easily able to download owner and repair manuals online, and that part diagrams and the parts themselves were readily available from numerous sources. We ordered the needed part and removing the freezer drawer and replacing the back wall with new sensor and fans was a $100 repair that took 45 minutes at most.We have owned refrigerators in the past that required a new ice maker every year. Our LG ice maker is now more than 5 years old and with daily use still works perfectly. Im sold on LG products. I dont have the receipt anymore, but these are the registration details: Model Number: LFX31925ST. Serial Number: 106KREL0F452. Purchase Date: 01/12/2012.

I purchased a Front Load LG WM4270HWA along with matching dryer from Standard Appliance in Portland, Oregon, after reading good ratings online from Consumer Reports for these front loading machines. I had my Asko Asea dryer go out for the third time which I purchased in 2003. I was under pressure because of a pending breast cancer surgery within a week and was told by their repair group that they likely could not get parts on the older Asko. I ordered the new LG set needing sterile clean sheets and nightie after sterile prep before surgery. The repair company called and said five days later they could get the parts to repair the dryer, but it was too late, I had ordered the LG set to be delivered the next day.My first run was one queen set of sheets, nightie and one towel. I immediately got the infamous UE signal and called the LG service number and was told to wash only one type of item at one time. I kept rearranging the load to no avail. I was then told to wash only one sheet at a time. I ran the spin and dry cycle several times to no avail. I then put the very wet sheets in the dryer with over an hour of drying. During the night I was sickened by the smell of sheets and nightie and had to change everything before my surgery. After surgery recovery three weeks later, I attempted to run three different loads of laundry. All kept giving the UE signal. I have severe osteoarthritis (knees and shoulders) and had to travel up and down the stairs to keep reloading the machine because of balance errors. None of the loads came out clean the way my working Asko had cleaned. I then read the ConsumerAffairs report on the machine to find out these machines were not worth keeping especially since I have an extreme mold sensitivity (I am the worst HLA type for mold causing many chronic illnesses).Standard agreed to take the machines back and although they could not retrieve and repair my old set as they had already parted out, for an additional 900 dollars (10% restocking fee plus added cost of Askos) they would send me a new set of Asko washer and dryers. Not the best solution for someone on a fixed income but much better than keeping a mold hazard. Asko was one of the few front loaders not included in the mold class action suits. It should be required to tell customers of pending class action suits before the purchase of expensive appliances. Mold is a life threatening issue for many people. Twenty five percent of the population do not clear toxins from their bodies. I am disappointed that Standard did not tell me of the mold issue but they did take back the machines which I appreciate.

I loved the washer when I first got it. Now, I had the washer for 2 months and it does not spin clothes dry enough. It has now been leaking for a week from the bottom. I cannot find where the slow dripping is. I am cleaning up about a quart of water every two days. Thank God, I have a concrete floor. I think it should be no stars. With its high price, it is a piece of crap.

We bought a LG washer (top loading.) and dryer set at Best Buy, 20 June 201
We bought a LG washer (top loading.) and dryer set at Best Buy, 20 June 2016. They looked like quality products, but we were very mistaken. The washer spends a lot of time load sensing, almost as much as washing. A lot of clicking going on, and the tub jiggles back and forth for a few minutes before the washing cycle starts. Even with Extra Water, selected, it is barely enough to get the clothes thoroughly wet in the wash cycle. The clothes in the very middle of the tub never hardly move during the agitation, so they do not really get washed good. Then during this last week the washer goes from wash cycle to spin cycle. It forgets the rinse cycle. Also, we can only get hot water, never warm. For some reason the warm setting is always cold. It also takes a long time just to wash a load of clothes. The dryer will not dry our clothes completely, but we work around that problem, and we shouldnt have to. We had a Kenmore washer and dryer set for thirteen years, and never had many problems. I worked as a product designer for many years, and our company had strict rules for testing and designing before any new product was introduced to the market. I can hardly believe that LG is putting these defective new products out to the marketplace. Anyway, we are disgusted, and learned a very expensive lesson.

DO NOT BUY LG refrigerator. DO NOT USE A & E Factory Service. Terrible experience that is still ongoing. I have waited over a month for repair. First appointment was canceled on me. Second appointment tech was a idiot and did not fix. Third appointment was canceled on me because one of three parts didn’t not arrive. I requested a different tech but on 4th appointment he shows up at my door. And he only used 1 of the 3 parts that was ordered. I am super frustrated and the dumb tech even laugh that he could’ve fixed it the first time he came. This is 24 hrs later... the refrigerator is still not cold!!!! He didn’t even fix it. I hate LG and I hate the A & E (Sears) service. LG knows they have a issue with their compressors.

I dont like the odor coming from the washer when you have the door closed too long, so I always leave it open when not in use. I look for capacity, energy efficiency, discounts, brand, quality. How fast they will come out and repair if it breaks down. I look for quality and price has to enter in on it. Most expensive is not always what I want. It may not have the features I want. My wife and I purchased a new LG WT5070CW washing machine in January of 201
My wife and I purchased a new LG WT5070CW washing machine in January of 2013. This is a top loading machine. We started to experience mold/mildew smells from the machine shortly after we purchased it. We use high-efficiency soap, use very limited amounts of soap, dry out the entire machine (including the top lip of the washing tub) after every use, remove and empty the soap detergent/softener dish after every use, plus dry it out. We have used commercial after-market mold/mildew solutions to treat the machine. We have also used bleach rinses and vinegar rinses. We purchased a carbon filter bag that we place in the machine when not in use. Nothing seems to help and the smell is getting worse. So much so, that we are considering purchasing a new machine. We contacted LG about our problem and got a canned email response... do this and do that... all of which we had explained to LG earlier that we had already done. By canned, we mean it appears to us as if this response was meant for their front loading machines, as it mentioned making sure to wipe dry the gasket on the door of the machine. Our top loading machine does not have a gasket on the lid. We responded to LGs suggested fixes and asked to talk to a supervisor about this problem. So far, nothing from LG. The LG washing machine and dryer combination were not cheap. LGs customer service department along with their engineering department leave a lot to be desired. We ditched our LG phones earlier this year for Samsung and will probably do the same with the washing machine... although I am not sure what we will replace it with. LG products are problematic and I suspect will not have a lot of repeat buyers.

When I purchased my $2400 LG refrigerator 5 years ago the salesman assured me that this refrigerator should last 15-20 years. WRONG. The compressor failed after stocking up with over $500 worth of meat products due to the Covid 19 crisis. When the repairman came and I had to pay another $100 for a 10 minute diagnosis, he explained that the LG compressors have a 3-5 year life span. Long story short, he was right on point. It failed just a few months past 5 years.Estimate for the repairs were over $1200. If I can give LG less than one star I most definitely would. I would not ever buy LG anything even if it was for free. Buyers beware!! They may look sleek and nice but they are by far the absolute worst product I’ve ever had the misfortune of owning. Tomorrow my new Maytag refrigerator is coming and I will be happy to kick this piece of junk out of my house. NEVER AGAIN LG.

In March 2009 I purchased an LG TROMM washer model WM2487HWM. I loved the washer and dryer. Until October 2012, the washer suddenly without any prior dripping warnings, developed a gushing leak when filling. I had a waterfall in my finished basement, the ceiling destroyed and furnishings soaked. The first floor where the washer was the hardwood flooring buckled a couple days later. I took it with a grain of salt, just clean it up and fix it. The part cost less than $10.00. There are YouTube videos to show you how to replace it. The hardest part of changing it was getting the heavy washer moved out to access the back to remove the cover. Part replaced, washer working fine, I am happy. Now just clean up the damage it caused. December 13, 2015, the same thing happened again. I am not taking this mess very well a second time. I should have realized by all the videos this was not just a fluke, but a reoccurring problem. I would not recommend a LG washer to anyone unless you have a damage proof place to put it.

I had my LG microwave for three years or so and my wife was cleaning it gently with Windex (to get the grease off of it since it was also a range hood), when it stopped working completely. Be aware, LG and other uncool companies are making products that cannot be cleaned. Its sort of like buying a car that cant be waxed. It pretty much makes you never want to give their lousy company a dime again. I then bought a touch strip from an appliance repair site for cheap and repaired it myself. We now keep it in the garage (its huge!), but at least we didnt lose the whole $1000 investment. There are videos on YouTube that will help you do that. However, my main point is that you should never buy LG products. I know I never will again. I wont even buy parts from them. Thats what they want you to do!

Purchased a set of Washer and Dryer from Home Depot. Just over the one-year
Purchased a set of Washer and Dryer from Home Depot. Just over the one-year warranty period, the dryer stopped heating. The service repairman was so rude I sent him away. I ordered a new heating unit online and fixed it myself and appears to be working ok now. The washer model #WT5101H top loading washer has never worked right since new. It continues to go out of balance when spinning and displays a UE error code. Then the washer will refill and swish clothes around for a while to redistribute the clothes and try to re-spin only to go out of balance again. It will do this a number of times and then just shut down. After doing some research, I found this machine was a part of a recall. I promptly called LG and got set up for a service person to come out and fix it. The fix was to replace the control circuit board. He replaced the circuit board and left only to find that the fix did not fix anything. It is still just as bad as ever. I called LG again and I ran a diagnostic on it with the phone and they said the circuit board is now just fine and their obligation of repair under the recall is completed but there is another problem with the machine. I would have to call for another service repairman to come out to fix it. My questions are this to LG appliance: 1) How can they possibly call this machine energy star qualified after running through so many spin cycles? Surely this is wasting a lot more energy than it could possibly be saving. 2) All this refilling and spinning is undoubtedly overburdening my septic drain field and wasting so much water that it is unbelievable. 3) With all the problems with these machines particularly with the spin cycle, it would seem to me that LG has a responsibility to provide a fix that works after all this machine cost over a $1K and it doesnt work and has never worked properly. I think my only recourse is to contact my attorney and see what legal remedies are available. Perhaps a class action lawsuit by all could convince LG to make the necessary repairs to make the machines to work right!! The only reason they get one star is that there is nothing lower! You could not get me to run fast enough away from LG appliances or any LG products in the future.

When I ran into the laundry room I saw the washer jumping all over the place and beating holes in my wall! Before I could get to the plug to disconnect power, the front of the machine blew off and the washer drum fell out. I was in shock, my floor was flooded and the machine was destroyed! I called LG and explained what had happened and their wonderful customer service suggested that I unplug the machine for 15 minutes and then try it again! Really??? After 3 weeks, about 50 phone calls they finally sent a repairman out who said it was do fixable! Another two weeks went by and we finally got a replacement machine. So the repair guy got paid yesterday, was supposed to call today, have heard nothing and his mailbox is full. We have family visiting and no refrigerator. Been living out of a cooler for the past week.Disappointed that this refrigerator has turned out to be such a piece of excrement. We bought it because LG had a good reputation. Apparently theyve cut huge corners on quality and are following the planned obsolescence that is becoming common practice so you are forced to buy appliances more often, whether you can afford it or not. We believed LGs advertisements and trusted that they would stand behind their product. The expensive French Door Refrigerator/Freezer (LFCS31626S) has given us nothing but trouble. LG has sent repair technicians several times who have gone so far as to replace the control board (twice) and the compressor complete with solder smoke wafting through our air during a 2-4 hour repair job. Still, in spite of being set at 36 degrees F, the temperature cycles from 45 degrees F to an unsafe 60 degrees F. The last technician who worked on the thing told us that he did all he could, and, within a week, we had the same problem all over again (we called that technician for help but he no longer answered our calls). Meanwhile, weve lost tons of food and have to shuffle things into a standing freezer for salvage. This has been going on for about a year. Rather than do the right thing and replace the unit with a new, good one, LG now wants us to break COVID-19 isolation for yet another failed repair attempt. Most recently, we were handed over the Executive Team where a member picked-up and held the phone line open for over 2 hrs before hanging up without once responding to our repeated pleas that he/she speak. We are beyond frustrated. In fact, we are feeling betrayed. Please help!

I bought a brand new LG refrigerator LFXS30766D in May 2015. Last month it did not make any cool air, as the result all my foods end up in the garbage can. I called LG, they dispatched a technician first time for diagnostic. Then the tech came back the second time with a new compressor. They charged me about $400 plus for part and labor. Well, the refrigerator then was running fine for about three weeks. After that the compressor made some noise. I had to unplugged it a few times with a hope making differences. At last the noise finally gone but there is a new problem starting last 2 weeks. The cooling issue came back. The freezer at the bottom is cool about 36F, and the fridge on top is warm. I found out the vapor fan stopped working. I went online to check on LG spare part to replace the fan myself so I can save money. But I am very disappointed after the fact that the vapor fan kit costs around $200 - $300 for the whole assembly kit. What a rip off!!! Apparently the sensors dont really work, it is by time only and I have to go to manual dry to finish. My biggest complaint is the lint screen and compartment that it is housed in. The lint screen would stick up just a little on the right side and catch my clothes, some it has damaged. I finally found that the design of the compartment that the lint screen goes in has a design flaw. There are little cross sections that catch lint and build up which doesnt allow the screen to seat correctly. Once this happens the screen will be warped.I have to totally dismantle the compartment every 2-3 weeks to remove built up lint and force the lint screen down. I refuse to purchase a new lint screen because it will just happen again. However, all that being said, it is not just the damage to my clothes or the work of trying to keep the lint from building up around the design flaw. This is a fire hazard. I spoke with LG and they said they would send out a repair person but I would be responsible for the service. They have not redesigned the part so that is useless. I also have the LG matching washer, not crazy about that either. I will replace both of these and it will not be with an LG product. They dont stand behind their products and have zero customer service. If you have one of these dryers, beware!! They are a major fire hazard!!

I purchased a LG French Door Refrigerator through Costco in December of 201
I purchased a LG French Door Refrigerator through Costco in December of 2015. The refrigerator completely stopped working, it has a completely closed system so very hard to see anything. Called for help on March 11th, 2017, 15 months after purchase and still in two year warranty period. After much BS they finally agreed I was still under warranty and sent out a service request. I live in a county of 500,000 people. They had ONE service person for this entire area. That person called late that night to say they were not doing this anymore, could I call LG? I did, I am now waiting for someone from out of this area to come work on Refrig. Its been 5 days, no call. Will call Costco tomorrow and see what happens next. LG clearly has NO interest in caring for its products if they have ZERO technicians in a community of 500,000 people. DONT PURCHASE LG!!!

We purchased the Door In Door French Door refrigerator (LG - LFX31945ST) on 7/20/2013 for $2500. Two days ago I heard a loud pop that sounded like ice dumping on overload. We left the house for a few hours only to come home and find water all over the floor, leaking from the ice maker in the fridge. The fridge had stopped maintaining any cold temperature in either the refrigerator or the freezer section. Much food was in the process of spoiling.Called an appliance repair person who diagnosed the problem as the control module/capacitor, which was burned out. He called for the part and was told that particular part has been on backorder since April and that it was unknown if or even when it would be available. This is ridiculous, we now had to go spend money to purchase a new refrigerator. The service person informed us that his main complaints on appliances are for LG and Samsung products. He doesnt understand why there is not a class action lawsuit against these companies for their poorly performing products for which you have trouble getting even parts to repair. We will not buy anything LG ever again.

I thought I had done my research on what appeared to be a well-designed product. I have had my LG French Door Fridge 26 months, with no less than 14 repair issues, including the right-hand door gasket (four times), and the right-hand freezer door bracket (twice). We are a busy family with three teenage boys, but we keep a spotless kitchen and are not hard on our appliances. The fridge appeared well-designed and fit our tight kitchen, but it has been problematic from day one.The new models seem to address the issues I have had, but LG has passed the buck after year one to the extended warranty company. Warranty service through private contractors has been mainly poor. Response from Home Depot has been mediocre, until I asked for a truck to return the fridge, or said I would drop it in their parking lot myself. I looked at our old fridge to see what broke, and this one seemed to have been built much better, but what a mess. Buy from a private appliance dealer with a service team. This model was available at numerous locations, large and small. Any brand you buy will only be as good as those who back it.

I bought an LG double oven in February. As soon as I tried to preheat the oven, the oven filled my house up with gas. After many unsuccessful attempts to have LG have someone come out to fix the oven under its warranty, LG finally scheduled a company to come out to fix the oven. After the company attempted to fix the oven four times, the oven still leaks so much gas when I attempt to preheat the oven that I cant use it. Even though the service company has told LG that the oven is defective and they wont come attempt to repair it anymore, LG refuses to replace the oven or refund me for the cost of the oven. I have been without an oven for seven months and Im currently stuck with a $1,500 defective oven. Thanks LG!
