We went with a larger cubic footage from the builders model. LG purchased through Costco, so you are backed by the best, if there is a problem. Great freezer space and interior flexibility of shelves in the refrigerator section. Extra storage area for frequently used items, milk, water, condiments is a great add on.

Firstly, the first refrigerator that I received in September, 2018 did not work at all. The Brick replaced it with the floor model until they could order me a new one. Initially, the whole scenario was a nightmare for me. It is all good now except for the fact that the stainless steel is always streaky, no matter what I use or do. It is very frustrating. I have tried almost everything, including the wipes, vinegar & water and just water and cloths. If anyone has any ideas, help! I am thinking it may be a poor grade of stainless steel. I am disappointed with the finish on the stainless steel.

Lg seems to have better products than most companies. They look better and have better functionality and for the price they cant be beat. Weve had our LG fridge for 8 years and not 1 problem. We had to special order the size and we couldnt have made a better pick. Its sleek and has plenty of room despite being smaller than the standard fridge. I like the bottom freezer, it has a drawer so it really maximizes the space in the freezer. If I had to change anything it would be on the outside. Because it is a smooth shiny black, fingerprints show badly on it as well as any dirt or food so I constantly have to wipe it down which isnt a dealbreaker for me because Im OCD anyway.

Purchased an LG microwave oven (over the range) model LMV1813S ...installed it 3 days before Thanksgiving 2014. On Christmas morning (1 month later) it stopped heating. Certified LG service repaired it yesterday with a brand new computer board and keypad (just to be safe). Worked once and then stopped again. LG will not send a new unit. Says the repair guy must come fix it again and again until he determines it is a lemon.....its brand new, 2 months old.

This design of this dishwasher is a nightmare. Ive actually read the manual on how to load this dishwasher thinking maybe I was doing something wrong. There is nowhere in the dishwasher where plates stand up. The tines are awkwardly placed, and continually fall down, so maybe a few bowls can go in, but they land flat on their back, pointing up when tines collapse (not exactly conducive to cleaning). Its as though the bottom rack is made to handle a couple of large pots and maybe two or three bowls. The top rack is also strangely designed and again has very little capacity to handle many dishes or glasses. When the bottom rack has dishes in it and I open it, the weight on the door causes the whole machine to start falling out of the wall. Ive probably owned ten dishwashers and can honestly state that I cant even rate this as working. Im literally having it replaced and throwing it away if I cant get Home Depot to take it back... Its less than a month old but I just cannot stand it. Ill pay twice for installation but it will be worth it because otherwise Ill be washing everything by hand. I also bought LG refrigerator and micro... nothing special about them, but I guess I should be grateful they work.

On the 27th of this month, I complained to the call center about the drainage problem with the machine and a man came within 48 hours as promised. He did some adjustment and the machine started working. I took AMC on his advice, and the next day I loaded the machine and the problem was there again after half the cycle. Again I had to call the call center on the 29th after 24 hours - the same man came, did the same adjustment and assured me this time he checked it and it wont happen again. But on the next load, the problem was there again. On May 1 I called them again, they gave me the number of the service center but I could not get through. Again, the call center registered my complaint the third time. This time it was an urgent call. They said within 24 hours, someone senior will come but now its more than 30 hours and nobody came. The call center people gave me the no of the area manager and he promised me it will be done today. I am still hopeful, still waiting.

The control knobs can be slightly bumped and the gas is turned on! This has happened several times in with our LG range. We have to reach above to get to our above the range LG microwave and bump the control knobs. Usually we notice the smell of gas pretty quick however one night my husband cleaned the kitchen and went to bed. I came home later that night, after a long day of work/travel, to find my house filled with gas! My husband and daughter were both upstairs asleep but THANK GOD they were okay. My husband likely bumped the knob when cleaning or reaching in the microwave. The control knobs are completely unsafe and are seriously life threatening! LG needs to recall these! Something needs to be done! PLEASE.

Ive been trying for a month to get service on my dishwasher. Although the 1 year warranty is gone, the board is warrantied for 5 years. First time I called LG they gave me 2 phone numbers for 3rd party service in my area. I called them several times and never got a call back. I set out to look for my own 3rd party service and contact Sears because they advertise that theyll fix any appliance whether you purchased it from them or not. The repairman showed up this morning and told me that Id have to call LG to get approval from them to have Sears be the 3rd party vendor. The service fee would be $99. That was OK with me.I called LG and was told that they had a local LG authorized service in my city. I got transferred and spoke with them. I was told that they would schedule a repair if I paid $125 up front and then the charge me for the installation of the part (which was free). That would have amounted to over 30% of the total original cost of the machine. I have no idea what to do now. I was able to submit an email to service to see if I get a better answer. Regarding other reviews about how dishes stack inside the washer, I have to agree. I always had issues with glasses breaking because they fell over. I change the way I put them in. The thing I liked about the dishwasher was the short Turbo cycle. It was 58 minutes and did a good job. If you buy an LG Dishwasher be sure to purchase the extended warranty.

I wanted to be fair about my review so I waited until I had it a while. I bought this machine a yr ago and I am very disappointed. In any cycle, theres not enough water to get everything wet, say nothing about rubbing the clothes together. The repairman came out for a repair issue and stated the machine was made to wash ONE set of sheets not two. If I want anything really clean, I have to go to bulky to get enough water to make any soap suds. Most of the time, I can see the blue soap color on some of the clothes.. They dont get wet enough to get the soap off. I will not buy LG anything again.

My wife and I purchased a new 30 cu.ft LG French door refrigerator Feb.15th 2015. Within 6 months we had a defrosting problem, service man came out. A few months later same problem except worse. MELTED AND SPOILAGE. Service man came out. Kept replacing the same part. Now I must have LG EXTENDED WARRANTY, A LG CONTRACTED service man came out, he was saying NO its a compressor. He came out again. HE TOLD THEM ITS A COMPRESSOR. They thought they (LG) knew better. Finally a LG Co. Repair man came out, with a compressor. Problem solved. Each time I called for service IT WAS 2 WEEKS before it was put in, even though it was not right. The last time it was 3 weeks but problem solved. I had to purchase another refrigerator, NOT A LG. It is performing great. A GE, I HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE THIS LG for about 12 WEEKS because of being ordered and BEING WRONG part. The customer service IS SO BAD. Then, the last time LG service came out, I was charged $395 because the ext. warranty had expired. My purchase date from SPENCERS APPL. Feb.15th 2015, $2750.

Wow! Before I bought the LG Model WT5101HW in Aug. 2010, I could not find bad reviews on this washing machine. I wish Id investigated further. It is just as noted in other reviews; not enough water in most cycles, not energy efficient (1:09 hr. cycle will take up to 1:55 hr.), water levels will sometimes leave clothes dry and still dirty. Machine has been recalled and fixed by service representative (which took three trips), constantly going UE and adding water, etc. There is no way to shorten a cycle except rinse and spin or spin only. I found the only thing that works reasonably well for cleaning is the Bulky/Bedding cycle. This seems to load the water based on level rather than the weight method. But it always fills it full, so I make sure the loads warrant the extra water used. I am considering biting the bullet on a different washing machine when the extended warranty expires in about ten months. I will NEVER purchase another LG product. Worst customer service Ive ever experienced.

I chose LG because it had the most features I wanted and it was a good price. When I shop for appliances I take it seriously and compare several different brands for the features I want and need. It has met my expectations. It was a two door fridge with a bottom pull out freezer. It included an ice machine, variable temperatures, and different drawers inside. There was an ice machine in the freezer portion, as well as one that you were able to fill a water glass up with (in the area where water was dispensed. There was also a child safety lock. I disliked how the ice machine in the freezer part always filled up the whole freezer with ice when it was turned on. I think there should be an easier option to disable this and it should be made clear that this feature can be turned off and on.

I purchased an LG microwave for nearly $250.00 and its been replaced twice
I purchased an LG microwave for nearly $250.00 and its been replaced twice by Home Depot, making this the third unit to electrically fail with smoke coming from its internals after only a 45 second operating cycle. LG was contacted and initially stated that I would be responsible for taking the faulty unit to their authorized repair center in Chino Hills, Ca. - about 15 or 20 miles from my home - and pay for the repair.I informed them that I had taken the liberty of visiting this website and discovered that there appears to be some sort of electrical defect in their microwave considering the number of failures, the description of the failures and the short period of time between its purchase and the apparent electrical collapse of their product. In my experience, an item with a record this poor should be on some sort of safety recall list before it causes an injury or fire, but Ive not been advised of any such recall by either of the two customer service personnel I contacted during the course of our conversations on August 21, 2015.After being placed on hold for an eternity, and refusing to be blown off with what I can only describe as double speak, I informed the initial customer service person and the subsequent one that here in California there are regulations in place to protect consumers against abuses by big corporations with a bait and switch approach to consumer sales. According to this customer service contact, LG boasts their Magnetron has a 10 year warranty but to capitalize on this claim, the consumer must first pay for the labor involved which usually is a large portion of the initial cost of the unit!I have opened a claim or case # of ** with the assisting personnel who now report that there will be either a refund/credit or replacement within 6-8 weeks but they could not elaborate on which. In the interim, Im left without a microwave for the duration. If LG does the right thing, Ill report it, if not Ill provide that information as well.

We purchased a new LG refrigerator when we purchased our home in 2017. We had renovations going on and our right hand door was damaged/dented by a contractor. The contractor offered to replace the door so I contacted an LG recommend appliance parts and service place to replace the door. A week later they returned with a substitute that did not work so they said they would be back a couple of weeks when the correct door came in, that was October 2018 and I have been waiting ever since. All my phone calls to the appliance repair people end with them saying it still has not come in, it’s on backorder. At one point I called LG who confirmed the door is on backorder! Seriously it has been almost a year. Of course I had to pay the appliance repair person for the house call even though I told them the door needed to be replaced due to dents but they said that money would go towards the new door. At this point I am not sure I am going to get a new door. Had I realized we would receive such poor customer service I never would have gone with LG, we also purchased a 65” LG TV, and washer and dryer. I hope LG will help us with our dilemma.

All lg products that I have owned have all lasted as long as they were guaranteed to last while keeping their word on the productivity of these products and much much more. I loved the double doors, large compartments, the removable bins and freezer shelves. The ice compartment size was amazing and never ran out of ice and had to wait on more to be made. I’ve dealt with many terrible companies in my time but never one as bad as LG. I bought a refrigerator with an extended warranty and the compressor (main component) died on me within that time period. Called LG to help. A very friendly agent set up an appointment with me with a company based in NJ called “Rising”. No sooner did I hang up did Rising call me back to tell me they do not service my area and they have to cancel my appointment. This is when the real trouble happened.I called back LG and they referred me to my next two non-existent authorized dealers. When faced with the reality that no one would fix my warranty refrigerator, I sought out my own resolution. Called LG to get an authorization letter for an “outside” repair company to fix my fridge. After 24-48 hours I called back. They told me they had cancelled the request for an outside vendor and made an appointment with Rising service again. I called them again and was told once again that they do not service my area and they intend to keep cancelling whatever appointment LG makes for me. I called back LG. This circle of events occurred again in the exact same order THREE times. I tired to escalate to management and got more runaround. With no refrigeration for a week I finally decided to pay out of pocket and sue them later. Here’s what I found out though. A little INSIDER SECRET - LG does not pay the authorized companies and that’s why no one wants to do their jobs. So take it from me. So far I’m out 3/4 of the value of the fridge in a little over 3 years - do NOT buy an LG product because if it goes bad you’re out of luck. Learn from my mistake.

I was so frustrated with my LG Front load Dryer we purchased in 2016 as after about 1.5 years use, the dryer started DESTROYING our clothing. Clothing would catch off the edge of the lint filter ending up in a twisted knot, shredded. I checked online for other people with a similar problem and found someone else experienced what I had. I had my husband take a look and he found a collection of lint stopping the filter going in all the way. He added a cardboard extension to the long narrow vacuum cleaner attachment. This dishwasher (LDF7810ST) quit after 2 years of use - it has never completely cleaned or dried the dishes even though a rinse agent was used. I rinse 3 times before a wash cycle and its still of no use. I had it repaired, but I should have bought another brand. I have also had an LG cellphone which was so annoying in its battery life that I went back to my old trusty Samsung for 2 1/2 yrs to wait out the contract. Life is Good as long as you do not buy LG.

I own four LG appliances and they all broke down. I had to have my less than six-month old fridge repaired out 14 times. They finally replaced it with a GE product. My four-year old dishwasher was so expensive to repair and I was told to replace. This was an $800 appliance. Oven will not heat and neither will the broiler, a $1,500 oven that cannot be used and it is too expensive to repair due to parts.

I liked most features such as the touch screen to change my water temp and the temp inside my fridge and its drawers. If I want the meet at a certain temp I can tekk it the temp I want. I didnt dislike hardly anything on that product. I really love temp control from the outside of the product itself. I dont have to stand in the cool air and then decide if I need to rearrange things before I will be able to accomplish what I wish. I would buy another one so yes it met my initial expectations as it keeps fruit ripe and veggies from fermenting. I can hold veggies for weeks before they are black.

After less than a year the display panel on my LG french door refrigerator started to peel up. Called Best Buy whom I purchased it from, they transferred me to LG. This is where the epic disappointment comes in, I understand that things break even though it has been less than 1 year but there is no excuse for the complete lack of help that LG provided. They gave us the run-around, never called the service shop that was supposed to take care of my area, never gave us an RN number, then to top it off they cancelled the repair appointment that we finally got after a million phone calls because there were 2 different phone numbers on the request. They never notified us that they cancelled the appointment so my boyfriend missed a whole day of work waiting for the repair people (who conveniently then couldnt find any of our info). All it would have taken was a phone call to either numbers to straighten it out, btw they said having 2 numbers on the request was fine that they would call both but instead they called neither. I cant believe the level of disorganization and disregard from LG. I will never trust this brand ever again.

Purchased a side-by-side refrigerator for $1499 from Home Depot in February
Purchased a side-by-side refrigerator for $1499 from Home Depot in February 2013 and began using it in April, when our house was finished being built. On August 9, 2013, the refrigerator stopped cooling. We called LG and were told that we had to call back 24 hours later to confirm that the problem still existed. We called back after 24 hours to make a repair appointment, but the only places that would service LG in our area were backed up a week each, not because there were few repair places, but because very few places are willing to work on LG. When the repairman came out a week later, he verified that the compressor needed replacement but suggested contacting Home Depot to try get a new refrigerator through them before ordering the part, because once the part is ordered, there would be no chance of having HD help us. A very nice woman at Home Depot then spent the entire day on the phone with LG trying to get a replacement, to no avail. When I called LG back again to order the compressor for repair, I was told that I had to make another diagnostic appt, since the original repairman didnt order the part. I am told it will be 2 more weeks until the refrigerator is fixed. It has been 2 weeks since it has broken. Thats 4 weeks without a fridge. I have called 9 times to LG, 7 times to repair places, spoke to 2 managers at LG executive services (one manager, operator Sherry ID# ** told me that the failure of the compressor is not LGs fault!). In all, this is the worst appliance I have owned and the customer service team is useless. Save yourself the trouble and stress, do not buy an LG appliance.

We purchased a brand new LG refrigerator in July of 2015... At the time I did a fair amount of research and reviews on the brand and the model (French Door, Bottom Freezer), and all reviews were over 4/5 stars. We paid $2400 for a device that lasted less than 18 months. Fast-forward 13 months later (conveniently 1 month after the we cover everything part of their warranty ended), and the fan began to make a loud noise. A few days later, our fridge was no longer cooling, and on the digital panel we received a fan motor error code.We had purchased a 5 year major appliance warranty from Lowes... After 3 repairs in one weekend (each time the fridge went about 2 hours prior to it producing the same error code), followed by a separate service provider who had to order parts (and hasnt returned in over two weeks), we still do not have a working refrigerator. LG is a PoS company producing horrible quality appliances -- each service provider told us to never again buy an LG or Samsung appliance... Theyre made to last up to 7 years, but many appliances dont even make it two years at this point.

The LG customer service is very unpleasant. They put me on hold over 11 minutes and hung up on me. So, I had to call in again, the rep. didnt seem like she wanted to be there and just wanted to collect a paycheck. My wife and I invested $5k in the refrigerator, washer and dryer. We purchased our LG front loading washer and dryer in 2009 from Sears. The dryer model is DLE5955W and it worked beautifully for the first year. Then, all of a sudden, the machine began to cut off mid-cycle and will not dry the clothes completely - particularly on permanent press. We called Sears tech support since we had purchased a 5-year extended warranty on the machine. The technician came out and replaced the ETC board and sensor for moisture. The machine seemed to work for a while, and then the same problem occurred again. This time, they replaced the central board and PLB assembly. A few weeks later, they diagnosed the machine had a sensor failure. Each time, the technicians appeared puzzled and were on the phone throughout the service. While they were very nice, they were unable to fix the problem which continues to persist. This past week, the tech said it’s another sensor and control panel. But when he arrived to replace it, he was told by their technology support team that he didnt have the authorization to install the received part. That phone technician indicated that our ceilings in our home were too high and that the cause of the problem was a venting issue. What we soon discovered was that Sears has a policy that if their technicians arent able to repair the machine after 4 visits, we are entitled to a new machine under the lemon law. This would have been the 4th visit. My husband spent 2 hours on the phone and was passed through every employee in Sears, including their department that determines if the product is a lemon. Weve been buying our home appliances from Sears for nearly 40 years - what a crock of **.

We have a six year old French door LG refrigerator, $2,700 purchased at Home Depot. It stopped cooling fridge and freezer. A local repair man told me it was the compressor and that he didnt work on LG refrigerators. I called the customer service number in the owners manual. The sealed system has a parts warranty for seven years and the compressor has a parts warranty for 10 years. When I called them, I told them that my compressor or sealed system was bad as the repair guy had told me. They acted like it was no problem and sold me a repair package for $459.00. They said that would include the repair and a year warranty on the repair. I said great and bought it. They send out the first guy after waiting several days. He said after a few minutes, the compressor is bad and he had to order the part. Well, after several days I hear that he is not coming back to fix it so now I have to wait several more days for LG to send someone else. Another guys shows up and says compressor bad, Im like yeah I know that. He says we will order the parts and it will take several days to get it. He gives me a card and receipt and is on his way. I wait days and never hear anything. I call the number in his card, they say we dont fix LG compressors. This is the same story that I got from the first one and this time I told LG to only send out a service that could fix it because I already knew that was the issue and they should have too since the first guy didnt want to fix it. So this time I was livid. They sent someone else that refused to fix it probably because LG will not pay them enough to fix it. LG continued to give me a runaround after they sold me this repair service for labor on what should be parts under warranty. Not to mention the fact that they screwed me around for three weeks sending their two chosen repairmen out who then refused to fix it but LG was not straightforward on that. I got the same BS story that I read in some other reviews that they say they dont have a repair person in my area. I told them that I live right outside of Houston and if you dont have a repair person in my area then you dont have one anywhere. They then said they would refund my repair purchase minus $100 for a service call fee. I was more livid! At this point I had been out of a refrigerator for over three weeks. We are a family of six with four children. It was our only refrigerator. We were living out of a mini fridge out of our attic and coolers! They did not care one bit. As I figured out that this was going to be a process, I went to Lowes and purchased a basic Whirlpool refrigerator for my garage. After threatening them with BBB and lawsuit, they refunded me my full purchase price of the repair package they sold me. I asked how they get away with not fulfilling their parts warranty. They offered me a one time chance to call my own repair man and I could call in or email his info to them and they would authorize him to get the parts under warranty but of course then I start over on service calls, fees and labor charges and Im sure, more runaround with LG sending the parts that my repair guy would need to fix it. I am so done with dealing with them. From the other reviews I read, Im lucky that my fridge lasted six years! I paid $2,700 for this refrigerator and we have kept it in perfect condition but now it is an expensive nice looking nonworking piece of junk! They are a horrible company. I called local repair companies and many dont even work on LG or Samsung refrigerators. They say their systems are too complicated and awful. I will never ever buy an LG again. I will not purchase Samsung either after what I have read and found out from repairmen. We have been operating out of the one I purchased for the garage and I am researching what to buy to replace my $2,700 LG. Awful, awful, horrible company for customer service!!! I will be purchasing Whirlpool/KitchenAid or maybe GE. It is really unbelievable what they put me through in this process and they do not care one little bit. I am a stay at home mom so I could be around without taking time off work but total and complete runaround and they lie non stop to you. They do not care about you one little bit and wouldnt care if you did have to take off work to deal with their scam and it is a scam!

$850 and started having issues within 1 week this front load dryer (LG DLGX4371W). It has an option for bulk and advertises all these bells and whistle options but my old Whirlpool 13 year old dryer worked better I must say. Keep in mind I had professional install for the unit and vent and the problem is the unit, well maybe only mine? The dryer accumulates lint at the bottom of the lint bay eventually not allowing it be caught on the screen it comes with. This lint clogging at the bottom is a hazard and can cause fire. Even though the machine has sensors which may stop the unit before a fire thank God, but its brand new...why should I be dealing with this as it seems to me to be a DEFECT. Now I have to check the bottom of the lint bay and use a special connection to my vacuum to ensure its not clogging up and shutting off during every dry cycle which costs me time and headaches as a father with a family. I purchased the new technology to try and get help and make my life easier but I ended up with a headache now. Wish I went with Electrolux as the reviews lead me to but the PC Richards man was so adamant and strong with opinion on LG being the best...this is not the case for me. Over and out and good luck to all with this unit.

Will never invest in an LG product of any kind! Bought one of LG’s high-end dishwashers (model LDP6797BD) less than 2 years ago for its quiet running, nice bells and whistles (including WiFi access), and 5 year warranty for electronics. A few days ago the LED display started going on/off, dancing through all the readouts, beeping, and displaying what appeared to be an error code (“L2”) but wasn’t. We called for warranty repairs with a local authorized technician. He calls LG and they tell him its hardware (user interface board), not software (which clearly it was). Minimum repair cost, $285 (included the $85 service call).I call LG to explain why it’s the software and should be under warranty. LG’s Customer Service agrees it could be electronics and will dispatch their factory technician for $125 plus and a minimum labor charge of $65 (but up to $175) if its covered under warranty. Unlike the local technician’s $85 service fee, LG’s service fee of $125 is not applied towards repairs. I explained that I could buy a new dishwasher (NOT an LG) for what I would spend in repairs and my previous $300 dishwasher lasted 10 years…what’s wrong with their product(s)?

This refrigerator performed well the first 15 months however I noticed that the freezer was not freezing properly. I had purchased a service repair warranty with my Home Depot purchase and I thought no worries. I have been waiting since March 21 for repairs. After 3 visits and numerous repair calls with executive service persons Sandy, Gel, Willie and Shay I am still waiting to learn when my refrigerator will be working. Ask the merchant before you purchase how repairs are handled. Ask questions when you purchase a service policy as to what justifies replacing the item. A refrigerator is a necessary item in the kitchen and I feel that waiting more than one month for a repair is horrible.

Who is at blame, in customers being led to believe that LG makes wonderful washing machines? I agree that we all need to bring about a class action lawsuit against them. I purchased my set of washer and dryer model WM2501H on black Friday of 2010. One month later, the repair man came out and replaced the main board. Everything is fine, until the load tries to balance. This can take 45 minutes and maybe more. You are supposed to be able to do large loads. I try 2 blankets, 1 pair of pants, 2 towels and a pair of underwear. The repair people said you should mix loads, so I did. This is not always possible for the two of us. After waiting 45 minutes, my husband stopped the machine and took out one blanket and it still took 10 minutes to balance. The repair people dont tell you how your machine will age much faster by wasting all this energy and wear and tear on the machine. So much for a lower electric bill. I will never buy anything made by LG again.

I purchased my LG DLGX3551 in April 2012. The gas dryer now stops and starts on its own, and freezes when it stops, meaning I need to shut down dryer and start again and it may or may not work. I called LG and they tried to sell me a ~$380 service plan that would cover parts and labor for 1 year. But in the fine print, if the repair person determines it will not be cost effective to repair, they will charge me $100 for the diagnostic work on the dryer and refund the difference. When I asked what would be deemed too expensive to repair I got a whole host of answers from reps basically from, if the dryer parts are not available because the model is too old... but since mine is 4.5 yrs old shouldnt be a problem, to we didnt know how much our parts or services cost, we rely on the repair person to tell us. And no we dont know what parts they carry with them or how much the repair person will charge per hour, and if Im charged another service fee if the repair person doesnt gave the part on hand. Bottom line after I spoke to the supervisor, if the cost exceeds the price I pay, its deemed too expensive. But if it was a $25 part and one trip, theyd make $180 off the deal. So its insurance except they do not want to accept risk. So buyers be aware that their service support is a joke and either yes a local technician you trust or watch some YouTube videos, figure out the problem, order the part and install yourself. Otherwise its better to buy a new dryer by a different manufacturer that is reliable and if they offer a real warranty, read thoroughly to ensure you do not encounter fine print which could make buying a warranty idiotic. Each person on the phone I spoke with at LG was almost not understandable due to language accent, and repeated words from a script. Then the supervisor told me I was lucky they were there for me and spending their time on the phone with me when they dont have to since the unit is out of warranty. No joke thats what I was told. I called local techs and they said they refuse to work with LG warrantied problems too... now I know why. Doing my homework and buying a reputable brand dryer and LG is on the permanent never buy list. What is most disturbing is many people would not have realized their scam of a service warranty they offer is a scam - its unethical and they should be called out on it so no consumers fall for their deceptive practices. Maybe a lawyer can do a class action lawsuit. Im sure there are many unlike me that trusted LG repair warranty would not be rescinded if it exceeded the price of the warranty. My order number below is with a retailer, not LG. Im leaving for verification purposes but this issue is with LG, not the retailer listed on the invoice Ive submitted to this website.

I bought an LG front-loading washing machine. Within 2 years, the cycle stopped repeatedly in the middle of a wash. An internal part had broken. I had to replace it at cost. The same replacement broke the next year. I replaced it at cost. That same replacement broke. Same story. I asked myself if it was part of LGs plan to make faulty parts so the consumer would have to pay every year to replace them. After 6 years, the programming motherboard broke (dont ask me what it is called -- it manages all the settings on the machine) completely broke down. The wash stopped repeatedly during a cycle so I had to restart again and again and a 30-minute wash would take 2 hours. Many times it never finishing the final spin. LG said the replacement part would be $150.BUT then they called back and said since the machine is 6 years old, they wont supply the part anymore. They wanted me to buy a new washing machine after 6 years! I told them I would never buy another LG product. Instead I found the part from a third party supplier, and I hope my machine will last another 10 years so I dont have to spend on a completely new machine. My advice: NEVER BUY from LG unless you plan to replace parts every year and replace your entire expensive appliance every 5-6 years. Since they stop supplying parts, you will need a new machine.

We purchased our LG LFX29945ST refrigerator in June of 2014 and started to have major problems in December with the refrigerator compartment freezing food. We had the temperature set at 45 degrees and it was still 30 degrees inside. Called LG for service and got terrible support. We made several calls, got disconnected/hung up on once. The smart diagnosis showed we opened the refrigerator too much (we have a family of 5 so it gets used a lot). They tried to tell us it wasnt level, but the level showed good. Lucky for us we purchased a warranty via Lowes. Lowes sent a service person out and he would sit on hold for 20-30 minutes to talk with an LG tech. Service replaced the whole inside back panel with the air control doors and thermostats along with the control board. This repair caused the refrigerator to not get cold at all. Tech came back out and was told by LG support it was the wrong control board that the LG tech told him to order. Another week later the new control board comes in and its freezing food again (temp between 28-30 degrees). We been unable to use the refrigerator for over two months. Tried to do a review on the LG website and they denied it. I guess that is how they get such good reviews by rejecting the negative ones. I cant believe that I spent over $2,000 dollars on a refrigerator that I cant use for food. At this point the Technician and I are both very frustrated with LG and still trying to resolve the issue. My LG French Door refrigerator has broken down for the second time in the four years since purchase. The refrigerator was purchased in 2008. In 2010, the control panel failed. The cost to replace it was $400.00. Recently, the fridge developed a Freon leak. I contacted LG for a qualified repair person. The repair man told me that the fridge was indeed leaking Freon and it would cost $187.00 to determine where the leak was. He went on to say that if the leak was located in the bottom of the fridge, the repair cost would be between $300.00 to $500.00. If the leak was in the top part of the fridge, it would be unrepairable.LG, a Freon leak in a 4 year old fridge should not happen. Your company should replace this appliance. Im sure that you make quality products but my refrigerator is not one of them. Surely, you do not expect your customers to pay repair cost that total the purchase price for an appliance that is only 4 years old.

We purchased an LG model WM2701HV from Sears in October 2010. Within 8 months, the lettering on the controls was wiping away just running down the front of the washer and yes, we get the gray spots on our whites. LG refuses to replace the control face and so we have homemade labels and Dalmatian whites. What a lousy company. Dont waste your time or money. LG does not back up their product.

I purchased an LG refrigerator in March 2015 (Model#LFXS29766S). After about 2.5 years of use, the compressor malfunctioned and it took me over a month of countless calls and emails to finally get LG to service the fridge in December 2017. I advised LG that my parents are elderly and did not have another option to store their food. LG customer representatives showed no empathy or sympathy regarding our situation. They ruined our thanksgiving and we had to throw hundreds of dollars worth of food out. Fast forward to today, 8/25/2020, and the same issue has occurred again and the refrigerator is no longer functioning (will not keep cool and everything has melted in the freezer). A $2800 appliance should not break down twice in 5 years! I am aware that there is a known issue with the LG linear compressor and of a class action lawsuit. I called LG customer service for assistance and was appalled at the unprofessional behavior. The representative had an accent and when I asked him to repeat what he said because I didn’t understand, he said, “you didn’t understand me because you’re not listening”. The rep then asked me to hold but as it had been a while I asked if he was still on the line to which he responded, “I told you to hold so just hold”. The rep then gave me a phone number for a service center but never explained anything or why he was doing so. He then proceeded to hang up without asking me if I had any questions or needed additional assistance. I advised him that I had additional questions and when I inquired about the warranty the rep advised me that the labor is not covered but the part might be but we would need to have a certified LG technician check the appliance first. I’ve worked in the healthcare field for over 20 years and spent a majority of that time in patient facing and customer service roles and would never expect this of any company- it is completely unacceptable! LG’s complete disregard for its customers is not surprising given my first interaction with their company and now hopefully for the last time. I will be contacting a lawyer, spreading awareness on social media platforms, and will reach out to my local news channel to share thus horrendous experience.

We currently have a LG French Door Refrigerator with freezer drawers & the seals on the doors for the fridge have ripped & the doors no longer close properly. It seems EVERY LG forum I have been on has the same problems. It seems that the seals are a big LEMON! LG should have a recall for the seals for this reason. We paid so much money to get the best fridge we could & this is RIDICULOUS! We also have an extended coverage contract in effect.

We bought our top loading washer from Home Depot about 4 years ago. Thank goodness we invested in the extended warranty at the urging of the Home Depot salesman. I am sure he had heard many complaints about this brand. We had the washer less than a year and the drum broke. It took more than 11 days to get the washer fixed. I have 6 kids. Think of the laundry! Nightmare! The customer service could care less that having a broken washer was a huge inconvenience. Also, what does that say that MANY people were having issues with their machine and the wait list for service took 2 weeks?Fast forward 1 year and now we are dealing with a broken pump and the washer will not drain. We are on day 14 with a broken washer. The part has been ordered but LG did not rush it so we are literally at the mercy of freight shipping. We still have those 6 children. Laundry = Nightmare! Aside from the mechanical failures, the washer does not get our clothes as clean as our old, top loading washer that we had for 18 years. We often have dark brown mold splotched streaked across our clothes, sheets and towels. I bleach a lot and the musty mold is still an issue. I am continually cleaning the mold from the rubber seal. This is an awful appliance. Very disappointing! It is an expensive piece of junk. I do not recommend anyone purchase an LG washer unless you are a glutton for punishment.

Total runaround. In the first year my knobs have melted, called and complained and they were not covered, they said I shouldn’t use the oven for heat! Sent an email complaint. They sent me new knobs. Year 2 the door is rusting inside behind the glass, again not covered, told it was a maintenance problem, the door is getting wet!! Inside!! Also the knobs have melted again, If the oven is in use and I take the knobs off the temperature of the front panel is more than 200 degrees. If you bump the knobs they turn the gas on. I have the extended warranty and still be charged for service and labor. Please tell me what is the purpose of an extended warranty! Model number Lrg3085st. Serial 505mmqhof948. We purchased an LG refrigerator (model LSXS26326S) on April 28, 2016. It was delivered and installed on May 3, 2016. On July 30, 2018, it stopped working, ruining approximately $300.00 worth of food. We contacted the store of purchase (Home Depot), and were told because we did not purchase the extended warranty, we would have to pay for repairs. We then contacted LGs customer service line, and they directed us to a local LG authorized repair provider. They were going to charge $125.00 for a visit to assess the issue, and if the parts were covered by manufacturers warranty, they would charge an additional $250 for labor... If not, who knows what the charge would be. Now, I understand wear and tear and paying for repairs, but a lightly used refrigerator (mostly just my wife and I in the home), breaking down after just two years of use, seems like faulty craftsmanship. I then went on LGs website and chatted, first with a representative, then with a supervisor, both of whom seemed less interested in a quality product than with pushing their warranties (which would not be as needed with a sturdy product). The bottom line was, they are not responsible for their product breaking after only two years, and we were responsible for any repairs. After this experience, I went on consumeraffairs.com and read numerous complaints of a similar vein, $1,500 - $3,000 refrigerators breaking after only a couple of years, with no support from LG. I received no help from LG, so I contacted my local news stations consumer affairs department in hopes of bringing to light LGs poor product quality and non-existing customer service.

LG Front Load Washer & Dryer - Bought new several years ago. Worst product, bad design, many problems, and bad smell despite frequent cleaning of the bottom trap hose and screw on filter thing (and despite sanitize/tub clean over and over). It never rinses clothing or even washes it satisfactorily. Not energy efficient because it takes 4 rinses to get soap and stinky sour odor out of clothing. It never smells or feels clean anyway. Spent a thousand dollars to have it fixed when it wouldnt turn around. The smell is bad. Lots of other bad design issues besides the biggest problem. It doesnt clean the clothing!! LG makes REALLY BAD QUALITY PRODUCTS. The gas range is awful and so is the gas dryer and the microwave. It is blue inside, which is the only good thing about it. NEVER BUY LG ANYTHING. Maytag Neptune are great. I had them before the LG and were amazing. LG SUCKS.

I am not stupid to pay LG to fix 6 yrs old washer where I can easily replace something for little more money and if I add few more dollars I should be able to buy latest technology washer. I warn all consumer not to be fooled by warranty because its worthless. I am shopping for new washer and never ever will buy or let any of my friends or family member buy LG product. This refrigerator (French Door Model LFX21960ST) is only about 3 years old. The first year we had to call out the repairmen because, evidently, the light was not going out when the door was closed. This is difficult for me to know since I rarely spend time inside the unit with the door closed. As a result, the bulb burned, melted and fused the carriage to the top of the fridge. It was still under warranty so it was fixed, though I had to take off work to wait for service. Now the display shows ‘Error’ which means, according to the LG site, repair must be called again! I have never had a refrigerator that needed service much less one needing major work within two years.

Fairly new front loader, LG wm2801hwa, opened its door mid-cycle. I had a flooded kitchen and laundry room. When it was discovered, the machine was observed to continuously flooding water out of its (then open) front door. The water valves had to be closed and the machine had to be unplugged. LG was contacted directly and a service man was sent out. The D.G. Appliance representative indicated that the machine had an assortment of problems, including the main controller. The machine even flooded the kitchen and laundry room again, as the payment for the service call was being processed, for he left the valves on after his inspection.I consider this machine new since it was purchesed about a year and a half ago. I expected LG to step up to the plate here and provide a reasonable response. The door on a front loader should never open like that. Much property damage was avoided only by luck in discovering the flood in time, and diverting the water away from wood and carpeted areas. I followed up with D.G. later that afternoon and learned that they didnt bother reporting the problem to LG. I called LG (again) and found no relief, since the machine was out of warranty.

I’m writing about my disgusting experience with LG in regards to my washer WM4370HKA. I’ve had issues that started only within months of the purchase of this brand new washer. And the first technician that showed up was in DEC of last year, replaced parts and several weeks later the issue occurred once again. Repeatedly my washer doesn’t complete cycles and gets stuck with soaked laundry. It doesn’t clean properly and the clothes never come out smelling fresh. December, January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, I’ve had more than 3 technicians come to diagnose and attempts to fix the issue. They say they will be calling me back to replace parts but no one does. The issue is still ongoing and LG is denying me any service and has not agreed to my request for a replacement. I’m now ashamed to say that almost all my home appliances are LG because this type of service or lack of, shouldn’t happen. They don’t make you feel like a person, and they will do anything to deny you service. They don’t want to acknowledge that the machine is faulty. 1500 dollars and not even 6 months and it’s giving me hell.

I bought an LG True Steam Balance washer and dryer 2 years ago. Without a doubt, my 30 year old agitator washer and dryer in our house up north function much better. I purchased on the strength of Consumer Reports recommendation and because I thought the steam option would be useful. Consumer Reports really blew this one or else the report was written by some young person who considers wrinkles a fashion statement.EVERYTHING and I include towels, comes out so wrinkled that it requires touching up with an iron. I cannot WAIT to get rid of this washer and dryer; it makes life harder, not easier. I cant fault the cleaning; the clothes are cleaned just fine, but I believe that the washer spins with such ferocity that wrinkles are set into the clothes and no amount of tumbling, or taking them out of the dryer while damp, will eradicate the wrinkles.

My wife opened the d/w last evening to load dishes; a loud bang sounded, and she almost dropped the door. I pulled the d/w out today and found that the door assembly consists of a heavy-duty spring attached to a piece of Venetian blind cord which rides on a small plastic pulley. The cord had snapped (see photo). The next hour was spent arguing with a customer service representative and a supervisor because I refused to pay for a repairman to tell me what part I needed and charge me for the installation. I was finally given a phone number of a parts company from which I could order the cord portion of the assembly. Stainless steel and I loved the organization options it has with it being huge. It had freezer drawers and fridge was sorted in a way even buying $1000 worth of food anyone could find anything without looking very hard. Best one bought yet. Love it! But it got dirty really fast, you can see the dirt without even looking very hard. The only thing is I can use water or simple cleaners to clean it. My parents and grandparents were looking for a fridge too and I recommended this fridge to both. 1 and 2 bought it and have said they love it. Now, less than 3 months later, the machine stopped working overnight--lights and turntable work, but no heat or cooking is generated. Working with LG customer service warranty department is a nightmare. The customer service staff is very difficult to understand, when you are transferred to another department, there are very long wait times to connect, and instead of having it repaired locally, LG wanted me to pack it up and mail it to them. I have had LG equipment in the past and been satisfied. However, after this fiasco I will never buy another from them. All this hassle on top of not having a working microwave. LG model no. WT4870CW dropped off this morning brand new. After delivery, delivery guy set up and did the programmed test run. This checks if water is supplied, if it vibrates excessively or drains. All looked fine until I did a small load of laundry which came out unclean. Then on second try, I noticed tub basin filled up all the way to the top and agitator didnt work properly. I even made comment that it was so quiet...well when agitator is not doing its job, its super quiet. After trying different cycles and settings and after motor started to smell like it was burning rubber, I called home depot. The sales man gave me a lesson in how much detergent to put in, reasons why clothes arent getting clean, and told me to unplug it, wait 3 minutes, then try again. After explaining Im 30 and know how to do laundry, I explained again about water filling up in wash cycle and agitator not working. He said he would call LG and have a new one out to us IN A WEEK. After already waiting a week and half for first new washer, still blows my mind when a sales person does not apologize for the inconvenience or broken machine THEY sold.Im under no impression LG will stop making worthless machines for a ton of money, but listen up all the peeps in customer service, KINDNESS GOES A LONG WAY. SAY YOURE SORRY. DONT MAKE EXCUSES OR GET DEFENSIVE. Does the machine not working say something about you? Or is it your ego that needs to blame the customer by default? Some customers are rude but others are just like you trying to do their best to figure out a solution to the small and big obstacles they face. If you cant at least say sorry or be respectful...think about finding another job that fits you better. LG fail and Home Depot fail. Pretty disappointed.

Updated on 07/06/2020: This is my second review about this situation because I am locked out of responding privately to the company representative because they never responded to my last question. I have been trying since June 10 to get LG to honor the warranty on our refrigerator which stopped working on that day. First, I tried to get a letter in email for my repair person allowing him to order the parts which are still under warranty. When the letter finally came two weeks later, it had the wrong address. At that time, the representative who contacted me after my first review had already said they would rather offer an amount than deal with repairs. Still, I gave him the correct address and waited. Neither the correct letter nor an offer had come a week later, so I called the warranty department as he recommended. The lady there did make an agreeable offer and said the process would begin when we got an email about the offer. She said the email should come soon and that all steps had to be completed before we would get the payment to replace our refrigerator.A week later, we have received no email so Im assuming the 5-6 week process she mentioned will not start until we get that email and who knows when we will get it. I have just spent 1:22:00 hours on hold this morning waiting to speak to someone about this. Bottom line: Do not buy an LG refrigerator if you dont want to live out of an ice chest for more than a month waiting on them to honor a warranty.Original Review: After five calls to LG where customer service representatives have told me repeatedly that an email authorization will be sent within an hour, by 5pm, in 24 hours, it has been a week and still no authorization letter has been emailed to my repair service.

Their service window is from 8:00 am to Noon and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm... Ugh... so my wife took the first day off, and the service tech did not show up until 2:30pm, whole day of wages lost. The techy comes in my house and proceeds to tell my wife that I need to remove a set of cabinets or cut vent holes in the one above the fridge, because according to him the fridge gets too hot and causes the compressor to fail. Crazy huh, so according to the owner’s manual, it states 1 on each side, 2 top and 3-4 on the back for proper ventilation, which I have. I designed my kitchen with this fridge in mind, so anyway I get home from work and the service guy is informing me that he does not have the right tools to diagnose my fridge. He said I need to set up another service call and he would get the right tools ordered, and he left. I have to say I was not happy about it. I argued with Lowe’s for the next 2 weeks trying to get a replacement, and Lowe’s could not do anything because of the warranty, so I call LG again and they will not replace it without a proper diagnosis. So it took another 2 weeks and multiple phone calls not only to Lowe’s but to LG as well to get this fridge diagnosed, come to find out the compressor went out after 90 days, didnt cost me anything but 2 day’s worth of wages and 400 dollar’s worth of food.

After Redoing our house after Hurricane Sandy, I thought I would buy this Top of the line washer and dryer. The dryer is great, no complaints, however, the washing machine (Top-Load Direct Drive) does nothing but force dirty water through the clothes. Even with bleach, I could not get socks or floor washing pads at least clean looking. I despise this washing machine and will not buy another LG product especially from Home Depot. When I called about possibly getting service, they referred me to an Electronics company... Enough said. The electronics company wants to charge $80 to come Look at it. There is mechanically nothing wrong with the machine, it just doesnt work well and honestly, hasnt worked well since day one. This pushing water through the clothes is not effective at all. I would prefer a machine with an agitator but, those are hard to find. This machine is not that old and is not used all that much so, I have read reviews of the same situation and it is very clear not to buy this machine. I had read such great reviews for this machine but, am so disappointed because it has lead to nothing but additional costs for me to take at least some washes to the local laundromat on a regular basis. That is how ridiculous this has become. A fairly new (Bought in 8/2013) washing machine and I have to go to the laundromat to get my clothes clean. Buyer Beware on this product.
