Bought an LG suite when remodeling our home. Our refrigerator and freezer quit working after 2 year. A call to LG service for repair was met with parts are covered but not labor charges. We were forced to spend $400.00 to get service to schedule repairs. Service tech came and replaced compressor. We are out the $400.00 service call as well as hundreds of $$ in spoiled food! I see where several posters indicated they were compensated for both and am wondering if LG would make good on our claim or is a class action the route we should take?

My wife liked what she saw in the LG refrigerator so I bought one. But the drawers and the shelves are cheaply made. Ive had to replace the drawers in the freezer compartment and the glides on the shelf glide in the upper part of the refrigerator. Those parts are flimsy. But we bought the refrigerator 10 years ago and the refrigerator part of it is working fine. That was until the light stayed on and burned itself up but maybe LG will fix that for nothing.

Like the other review, if you set your oven to bake at 350, and watch a professional thermometer inside the oven, you will see the oven climb to around 475 and stay there for a few minutes while the panel says the temp inside oven is only 345. If you then set the oven down to bake at 345 in hopes of still being able to cook something before your house burns down, the oven will inform you that it is actually only 340 degrees in the oven, and continue blazing away until it is satisfied. It will eventually beep to let you know it is ready. At that point, ensuring there is no flammable material within 10 ft, you will need to open the door and leave it open for about a minute to let it cool down. Once the oven has cooled down, you are now ready to cook, and the oven works flawlessly. I agree that the gas knobs are easily turned on when you brush against it, but thats just the way it is and I can live with it. Gas burners work flawlessly and I love cooking on it. Just wish I knew how to turn off the incinerator preheat setting.

Will never ever purchase another LG appliance. Immediately, within 6 months, had to have the freezer door replaced because it froze up. Thankfully it was still under warranty. Within the next year.. ice maker continues to freeze up and unable to remove ice box. So sorry - not under warranty. Thankfully we were able to dislodge the ice maker and it functioned again for almost 6 months. Again - frozen/locked up and unable to remove the ice reservoir the 2nd time. Cheap products and no customer support.

Do not buy LG washers. They are prone to breakage and the service is horrible. I have a 3 year old top loader (LG WT1101CW) and it is a terrible purchase. Light use (2 loads a week) and this thing starts popping the OE error code and not spinning out. I spent a day and a half researching and following the service manual to try to fix. Why did I not call a service tech? Because LG has none in Minneapolis. By the way, the whole phone home thing to find out the problem with your equipment, does NOT WORK. I will have to agree with other posters, this unit is disappointing in the cleaning department as well, it will not get out smells let alone dirt. At this point, as near as I can tell, like others this will need a new control board. (Without labor they charge about 20% of the purchase price.) Please save your money and your blood pressure. LG has earned every bad review you will find here.

The plastic water line that runs down the back of the unit has a small crack in it. Every time you use the water or the icemaker fills itself, the unit shoots a stream of water down the wall behind the refrigerator. Now, my wood floors are damaged along with my ceiling below my kitchen. These are the factory-installed lines on the back of my LG refrigerator. The unit is six years old.

This is a dream come true. Both the air filters and water filters are easy to replace. It has several drawers both in the refrigerator part and the freezer part. It is easy to remove refrigerator drawers to clean. The shelves are adjustable. The shelving inside the door has doors on both the inside and outside. You can open just the door shelf to save cold air. It has an alarm that tells me if the door is open too long. The only drawback is it is oversized. It sticks out further than my cupboards.

Washer was 14 months old. 2) Residual bleach from previous loads ruins clothes in next load. 3) Not a true high capacity washer. Shakes violently. I have been reasonably satisfied with the refrigerator itself. The icemaker is not all that great but that seems to be a common characteristic in most residential refrigerator/freezers with an icemaker. I had the refrigerator approximately two years and the compressor started going out intermittently. It took a week or so for a technician to come and look at it but they did come and look at it and seemed to fix it, although they did not replace the compressor at that time (which is a problem that LG knows about ).Six months later (May of this year) it completely went out on us. And this happened two days before our vacation. It took them ultimately three weeks to come and fix the refrigerator and my children were at home with no refrigerator. We lost approximately $500 in food, with a inadequate food reimbursement of $150. That felt a little bit like a slap in the face after all the problems we had gone through to get the refrigerator repaired. We went through three different technician appointments and the local repair company was both unresponsive and incompetent. When LG was contacted directly, they promised to help but offered no real help in getting our refrigerator repaired sooner. I own several different LG products and I certainly will do more research and be more careful about buying LG products in the future, no longer just taking for granted That their products are of the quality that I would normally expect from LG.

WM2050CW - We purchased this machine in 2010 and it seemed the answer to all our prayers. It worked great, cleaned well and the clothes were almost dry when they were done - very little time in the dryer to get them done. The machine wasnt cheap but it would save energy and use less water and of course cut down on dryer time. Then this year problems arose and it was out of warranty. No problem, I thought, just call a repairman and all will be good. WRONG. Found out most will not work on the Korean made LGs. The parts are hard to get and expensive and the service from LG itself is horrible. This coming from the tech that we finally found to come out and work on it. Great we thought, get it fixed and back to washing. WRONG again. Pump was shot and the supports on the center drum were beginning to go. Okay how much to fix? We asked. $400 for the pump which could take up to two weeks to even get and up to a $1000 to replace the supports. OUCH!!!! Needless to say repairs were not done. Called several repair businesses to get a recommendation for a replacement. All came up with the same answer...... DONT buy another front loader. Reason: not built to last, parts are expensive, and some brands like LG nobody will work on. So we went back to the good old top loader and it is a Speed Queen and it has a 3 year warranty and according to all the repair people we talked to it is one of the most dependable out there. The best part it is made here in the good ole USA..... If you think front loaders are great look them up on youtube and see what happens when the supports go............ SCARY.

Buyer beware before you consider purchasing an LG washer and dryer. I have owned mine for 2 and 1/2 years. Thank goodness I got an extended warranty on the washer, after 13 months I noticed that my clothes were not getting cleaned and most of the time there were dry spots where no water even got on the clothes. Could not count the times I have washed the load twice. The repair man is here again (on my $) and it does not look good. The dryer has never dried well, always have to dry each load several times. FYI, there are only 2 people in the family and most of my wash loads are very small.

Purchased a highly rated LG refrigerator in 2011 with a 10 year warranty on the compressor. 8 years to the day, the compressor died. Compressor is under warranty, but other parts & labor are my expense. When the repairman went to install the replacement compressor sent from LG he found it was not the same. In fact it was very different. LG Parts dept said it was compatible & should work. The repairman, who has 30 + years experience, told us that the refrigerator would need rewiring & even then there was no guarantee it would work. He estimated his labor time to be 4 hours. Further discussion with LG brought no other resolution. Bottom line, they do not have the compressor for older models. They could have offered to put the labor under warranty but they did not. Their final word was that someone on their end (from the parts dept) would instruct the repairman how to install the compressor. We know this repairman for over 20 years. He is very honest & very good. He said trying to install the compressor sent, as is would be a fire hazard. His recommendation is to save our money on the labor cost & put it to a new refrigerator. NOT LG. Another comment: I had little choice in 2011 when I went to buy a refrigerator the size I wanted. The bottom freezer was the style. I hate it for many reasons. You cant put boxes in without them jamming; even ice cream containers. I freeze meat & chicken in air tight bags in order to fit more in. I am now looking for a top freezer instead.

We purchased our LG Wave Force top loader model number WT5001CW about 4 1/2
We purchased our LG Wave Force top loader model number WT5001CW about 4 1/2 years ago at my local Home Depot for $850. The biggest mistake of our lives. First, the issue with washing blankets, towels etc. The code I think IU or EU pops up and you have to reorganize the blankets and make sure the machine doesnt continue to fill the tub. Sometimes it would take 4 hours to wash my blankets or comforters. Second, the bleach dispenser (I use non-chlorine bleach) seems to always be filled with water. We think the tube is clogged but we are dealing with a more serious issue right now which is my final issue. The third and final issue having dirty clothes come out of my washer after you are supposed to have clean clothes. The delicate cycle does not allow you use to use a lot water so your clothes are not completely covered in water. Then I take out my clothes and find these pieces of dirt and pebbles. Changed all the hoses. Didnt help. Have to shake my clothes of these dirt/pebble pieces then vacuum out my washer to do my next load. We tried to take the bottom plate off and just took off the bolt but the plate is stuck. We did find A LOT of icky stuff on the bolt so we know under the plate is the real issue. Most likely there is build up and needs to be cleaned out. My husband tried to bang it with a mallet to loosen it up and filled it with fabric softer but nothing happens. This washing machine is such a headache and I wish someone would just take it. I dislike it so much. Plus with the recall you cant wash waterproof items, haha. I had the repairman in here about 2 years ago to do what? Not really sure. Please save yourself the headaches and your money. Plus there is a lot plastic components which equals cheap to me.

WT5001Cw washer purchased on 3/17/12 from Sears. Contacted Sears within 1st year to say washer would not dispense hot water. Sent tech out and was told LG said working according to specs. Tech told me to purchase extended warranty so machine would have to be replaced if 4 service calls were made in 1st year for same problem. I did that and then Sears said it didnt apply because LG said working according to specs. After Sears sent 4 technicians out over a period of 1 1/2 years and after the 1st year manufacturer warranty ran out, I was told that nothing could be done.My argument is: I should have been told at purchase or stated in the manual that the machine would not dispense water above 98 degrees, even though it had a hot water selection on it. 98 degrees scientifically is considered lukewarm and the machine will not go above 98 degrees which prohibits me from killing microorganisms in bed linens and bacteria in reusable baby diapers. Sears would not help me and referred me to LG. LG said they cant do anything because the machine is past the 1st year warranty, even though I contacted Sears, who contacted LG within that 1st year. Sears continued to send technicians out with non-workable ideas to get hot water when the bottom line was, it is impossible to get hot water. The machine mixes cold water even when the setting is on hot. I have written to Sears CEO Eddie Lampert and LG corporate office and received responses Sorry but we cant help you with this problem.

We had this beautiful fridge installed in June of 2012 and right away the freezer compartment spilled ice all over the floor when you opened the freezer drawer. The repairman messed with the seal on one visit, then replaced the seal on another visit and finally replaced the freezer door on the third visit. Problem with that was then resolved. Was gone for three months and back home for summer and the freezer quit working on July 4 - water all over the hard wood floors and freezer food thawed--they came out and did repairs on a fan. A week later the same thing happened - came out - needs new compressor. Came out with the right part no. on the box, but when he went to install it, wrong compressor - could not even restart the fridge section - so without fridge too. Yesterday they installed the correct compressor and freezer wont go below 29 degrees. American has been very good to do repairs and are trying to help us. We also bought the extended warranties, but that company has been somewhat difficult to work with. It is like no one knows who should do what. Very unhappy with this product. Now I have seen many others experiencing the same issues. Should the consumer have to suffer inconveniences and perhaps even damage to their home PLUS pay for the product and warranties especially when LG surely knows they have problems? I feel badly for the repairmen, but am wondering why companies continue to sell these products when obviously there are significant issues. What are we to do?

While this refrigerator seems to have everything as youre reviewing it, it absolutely SUCKS! Not only does the product suck, the service on the product sucks. You seen $3k on a product and you would like to think that the degenerates that sell the thing might have an ounce of human decency in them but they dont. DONT EVER BUY AN LG PRODUCT!!! They want your money, they couldnt care less about you.I have this piece of ** refrigerator and the ice maker always (in literal terms: 9 days out of 10) freezes up and you have to pull out the ice maker, stab the chute with a knife to break up the ice cluster and it spreads the ice cubes all over the kitchen because it takes force to get it out. You have to cut in the tiny gap between the pull-out device and the door to sever the ice dam, then pull... to the point where you think the plastic will break... the ice maker out. It explodes in a shower of ice cubes that fling all over your kitchen. All that water/ice is wasted, you are MORE THAN PISSED OFF constantly and you never have access to anything but floor-ice. I would never recommend any product by this manufacturer because they simply dont care. I was told...You bought it. Figure out how to use it the best in your house. Also, their water filters are ridiculously priced. I hope the manager of their support catches dick cancer and dies in front of his own mother.

LGs customer service department is by far the worst company I have ever encountered. They have had repair company come to my house 3 times, not able to fix the problem. Had told me no part order was placed, the repair guy gave me invoice numbers for the parts order. The countless phone call to LG were a joke. Last one they tried tell me the the repair was cancelled, right after the repair company left my house. Tried the dryer and call them to tell them it still was not working. Asking for a supervisor and being disconnected twice, he told me the service provider was a third party. LG was the ones who set up the repair in the first place. I ruined over $400.00 worth of clothing, because LG told me to use time dry. Was not a good idea! I asked for a replacement and LG refused to condemn the dryer. I was put off, lied to, and had been given a run around by LG And had enough. I call Home depot. On the first call told me that they would make good on not only the dryer but the washer being that they were a set. Thank you Home Depot!!!!

After 11 years our front load washer died. Rubber smell and unable to turn on, we think it was the ball bearing assembly. We opted to buy a new one, same front load model. 2020 model has a shorter waste water line by approximately 2’. (Approximately the same height difference given with pedestal.) When we built our house in 2006, I specifically requested LG appliances. This was a huge mistake. Within 2 1/2 years, the dishwasher quit working. I went to LGs site and found a repairman. He proceeded to tell me that the motor had burned out and it would be over $300 to repair. LG said that since it was a 2-year warranty, they could not help me. Last year, the temperature control on my range went out. The temp would be set for 350 and within a few minutes, the entire kitchen was filled with smoke because it had scorched everything in the oven. Needless to say, I didnt even bother with a repairman. I simply replaced the stove. At about the same time, the icemaker in the French door refrigerator quit working. After googling troubleshooting recommendations, it would appear that this is defective as well. It would be over $200 to repair but I believe it was mentioned that it would fail again soon so there wasnt any point in replacing it. That leaves the over the range microwave. So far, it is the only thing that hasnt screwed up. I will never purchase nor recommend purchasing another LG appliance.

We purchased our LG stove in 2007. I havent had any problems with the stove top but the oven loses heat fast and takes a long time to recoup. When making cookies I have had to add time on to the cook time and when our kids were staying here and used the oven they did not like it because everything took extra time to cook. Has anyone had any issues like this? I am ready to get rid of it, just not happy. I was told by a repairman that came in for my washer (which is a different brand) that LG doesnt have enough experience to be making stoves and refrigerators. He said LG is hard to work with and they will not service them. Any feedback would be wonderful. Does a good job of washing the dishes, but the dish rack is of poor configuration. The dishes tend to end up at a 30+ degree angles to the vertical and this limits the capacity of the machine. But it looks good and performs well so no serious complaints.

DO NOT BUY LG refrigerator. DO NOT USE A & E Factory Service. Terrible experience that is still ongoing. I have waited over a month for repair. First appointment was canceled on me. Second appointment tech was a idiot and did not fix. Third appointment was canceled on me because one of three parts didn’t not arrive. I requested a different tech but on 4th appointment he shows up at my door. And he only used 1 of the 3 parts that was ordered. I am super frustrated and the dumb tech even laugh that he could’ve fixed it the first time he came. This is 24 hrs later... the refrigerator is still not cold!!!! He didn’t even fix it. I hate LG and I hate the A & E (Sears) service. LG knows they have a issue with their compressors.

LG said the refrigerator I brought from Home Depot was refurbished so they would not cover the warranty. When I asked then for a statement from the repairman so that I could question Home Depot, LG refused to give any info about what the repairman said. Home depot insist that the refrigerator was new. LG will not be responsible for their product. I paid $1400 dollars for this refrigerator and now the compressor is broken. LG has a warranty for seven years on the compressor and they dont want to fix it and referred me to a company that wants $700 for the repairs that LG suppose to cover. If LG demeans this product refurbished they should give me a statement from the repairman, So that Home Depot could be responsible for selling me a product as a new one but it wasnt new. I think that Home Depot and LG are conspiring a fraud. That is why each company isnt saying anything or doing anything.

Bought an LG french door, lasted all about a year, just stopped cooling. 6 repair attempts were made, none worked, so after months of not having a working refrigerator, LG refunded our money. Well I went to Sears, bought a Kenmore. Well it is made by LG, but hoping to Kenmore standards. Now less than 3 years later, this one has also failed. LG may make good TVs and washing machines. But they need to get out of the refrigerator department, complete failures, TWICE!!

I am so fed up with my two LG front load washers which I purchased in August, 2006. 1 1/2 years ago the cold water valve had to be replaced in #1 washer. Six months ago, the hot water valve had to be replaced in #2 washer. Today the cold water valve had to be replaced in #1 washer again. I paid over $2,000.00 for these washers. Doesnt anything last more than 4 years? Next time Im buying top loading, cheap washers so when they break, I will just throw them out and buy new ones.

I have been without a working refrigerator since Super Bowl Sunday 2017, it is now April 20th 2017 and still have no working refrigerator! LG had sent out their contractor a number of times and the back freezer fan and compressor has been changed twice and the gas valve changed and still it doesnt work! Customer service and executive team cant seem to help a mom with toddlers. I have been treated horribly, LG doesnt care! I recently went looking at new appliances at Home Depot and they recommend LG until I told them my story and that awesome salesman will no longer recommend LG! I will continue to tell my story until something is done to repair my fridge!

We bought a brand new LG electric range from Future Shop in Duncan 2 years ago when we moved into a new house. A few months ago the push panel on top started to give problems. Could not use the timer anymore. Had a mechanic look at it and he thought we might need a new panel which might cost $800 which we were not willing to pay as we think it might be loose connections. I called LG twice, they were supposed to call me back but I never got a reply. Today the start button on the oven is not working. What will happen next? We have had ovens for 15-20 years without problems. Does this mean we have to replace a panel for $1000 with taxes and labor or buy a new oven? After 2 years??? We are at the end of our ropes. Who can help?

Update on 10/09/2020: This is a follow-up to the review I posted on April 5, 2020 and still has not been resolved. LG replied to have this issue repaired but due to COVID we were not going to allow a mechanic at the time to come into the house. LG has since not responded.Original Review: Like other reviewers, the same front left element of my induction range stopped heating. We are having the same problem and the range has barely been used and was purchased at the end of February 2019 but not installed and started using until May 2019. I have also tried unplugging the unit and plugging it back in but that did not help. We paid over $2,000 and the limited one-year warranty expired which is disappointing for how expensive this unit is. Very disappointed in the quality of this unit and we purchased several other LG appliances unfortunately.

We just purchased an LG kitchen package including the glass top electric LG range with knobs on the front (LSE4613/LSE4611) and had it delivered on 7/11/20. We have had it in our home for one week and weve accidentally turned the front knobs on multiple times by reaching into the microwave, cleaning the back splash, or reaching above into a cabinet. The knobs should not be that easy to turn. They are a push and turn style knob. We went back to the store to begin an exchange process for a model with the knobs in the back, but we are very disappointed because we like the appearance of this style much better. We are shocked by how easy it is to turn these knobs and really dont want to have to resort to ugly child proofing on our brand new appliances. Is there a better option?

This washer goes off kilter on any load that doesnt have exactly the same weight items in it. You cant wash jeans and tee shirts or flannels, even if you balance the jeans. A small load of like items works ok, but not much else. Large loads never fully agitate. Only the bottom of the load gets moved. The washer spends more time rebalancing itself than washing. Many times I have had to remove half the load and rinse and spin a few items at a time. Dont buy this washer.

Last August, I purchased an LG 31 cubic foot side by side refrigerator. A couple of months ago, it started making a loud noise and did not seem to be keeping food as cold. I called LG and they promptly dispatched a repairman. He was wonderful... spent 5 hours in my house and told me he didnt think that it was fixed and would be back in a couple of weeks and to call if there was an issue. A few days later, it started making a different noise and everything in the freezer melted. He came back, looked at some things and said he thought it should be replaced and would start the process with LG and we unplugged it due to the noise. A few days later, LG told him to to come back and try something again. He did, and it started cooling again. So I restocked. Within a couple of days, it stopped cooling again. Repairman came out again, to run some more tests. So, here I am 5 weeks after the initial repairman visit, 4+ weeks after my refrigerator stopped working all together, and several calls to LG directly getting nothing but the runaround. FINALLY, someone called me back, told me they would be sending a replacement 7-10 business days after they send me a form to fill out and I send the form back. AND, they have the nerve to tell me that I am responsible for disposing of the old refrigerator. SERIOUSLY???? What a joke. This must be the worst customer service experience EVER.

Three door LG fridge. 3 1/2 years old and broke down 6 times. Frequent canceled repair calls and many no call no shows. Have to pay labor, LG only covers parts that must be ordered, 7 days out. Who still takes that long to order anything. Then another repair call to install the parts, and another charge. Once again, you are lucky if it lasts more than a day or two. 6 months is good. LG could care less and Sears doesnt seem to care either. Perhaps a class action suit is in order. At the bare minimum it may force LG and their poor products and even worse customer service out of the market. As for Sears, they will likely be gone by this time next year. Its clear why to anyone that has worked with them.

We bought the LG Dishwasher a few years ago, partly because it was considered one of the most quiet (the kitchen is open to the family room and the builder supplied dishwasher was so loud, it was impossible to do anything social during a wash cycle). But we also were sold on the purported quality and features. We got it and installed it. It was quiet as claimed. But it didn’t clean anything. Often, the soap dispenser wouldn’t open. It filled the inside with hardened calcified soap. We called LG, to no avail. They told us it must be our water pressure (we are on city water and the pressure is just fine). They also said that even though we had a warranty, that issue wasn’t covered and if they sent someone out and it was confirmed that the issue wasn’t warranted, we’d be charged $150 as a minimum visit. We already paid a lot for the appliance and didn’t want to get stuck with another bill. So we managed, mostly precleaning the dishes, washing them again when the soap didn’t dispense, and dealing with the calcified buildup in the inside. The drain hose leaked under the cabinet, and we were able to use drain hose tape to get by. Well finally, the water poured into our finished basement during a drain cycle late last night, right before we were all going to bed. We pulled the machine and found several leaks in the drain line. Thinking we could get a universal hose, we went to Home Depot where we originally bought it and discovered that we need to get the first part of the drain hose from LG and that could take weeks. That was it. We bought a Frigidaire Galaxy series for half the price and it arrives next week. We hope this will do what it’s supposed to do-wash dishes.

Ever since we purchased the machine (a birthday present that was supposed to make life easier) we have suffered from clothes that stink, even right out of the washer. We tried changing detergents. No good. We purchased cleaning solvents from the store and ran cleaning cycles, good for one wash. Then the stink is back. The company says to leave the door open and wipe the inside rubber gasket dry after each use. Leaving the door open is not really an option and it blocks the hallway. I read that there are multiple complaints concerning the rubber gasket and stink from LG, and their overall response is the same as what they told me. I am more than willing to group together and go after the company for these machines. What a hunk of junk.

This is a follow-up to a review written on January 22, 2013 regarding my LG washer. I did hear back from the resolutions department at LG who extended a prorated offer for my unrepairable washer. Whereas I feel the offer is fair, it is a year late in coming! The offer will allow me to purchase another machine. Trust me, it wont be another LG despite their good ratings on various websites. I am still out the hundreds of dollars in labor costs, plus the cost of having my clothes laundered at a local dry cleaners. As I said in my remarks on the 22nd, I do consider myself a pretty savvy shopper by checking both company and customer reviews. But this time was way off the mark. I hope and pray that my next choice in a washer, this time a front loader by Electrolux, is a wiser decision and that I wont be on a first name basis with my local repairman for a long, long time!

I’ve dealt with many terrible companies in my time but never one as bad as LG. I bought a refrigerator with an extended warranty and the compressor (main component) died on me within that time period. Called LG to help. A very friendly agent set up an appointment with me with a company based in NJ called “Rising”. No sooner did I hang up did Rising call me back to tell me they do not service my area and they have to cancel my appointment. This is when the real trouble happened.I called back LG and they referred me to my next two non-existent authorized dealers. When faced with the reality that no one would fix my warranty refrigerator, I sought out my own resolution. Called LG to get an authorization letter for an “outside” repair company to fix my fridge. After 24-48 hours I called back. They told me they had cancelled the request for an outside vendor and made an appointment with Rising service again. I called them again and was told once again that they do not service my area and they intend to keep cancelling whatever appointment LG makes for me. I called back LG. This circle of events occurred again in the exact same order THREE times. I tired to escalate to management and got more runaround. With no refrigeration for a week I finally decided to pay out of pocket and sue them later. Here’s what I found out though. A little INSIDER SECRET - LG does not pay the authorized companies and that’s why no one wants to do their jobs. So take it from me. So far I’m out 3/4 of the value of the fridge in a little over 3 years - do NOT buy an LG product because if it goes bad you’re out of luck. Learn from my mistake.

We purchased insurance but not hopeful because when I talk to the LG representatives she said it may not be covered because it might it be done by us dropping something on top of it! When we built a custom home two years ago we thought we researched for the best front load washer available for our laundry room at the time. My wife and I decided that Consumer Report would be the best reference point. DO NOT GET LED DOWN THIS PATH. We purchased the Front Load LG WM8000HVA. After a year our clothes started to smell so we ran some cycles with bleach, then vinegar, then AFFRESH. Nothing helped... NOTHING.Just go online and see thousands of reviews for front load washers. I dont think it is just the LG. I think it is a problem for all front loads. My wife has a great nose and with that comes a lot of complaining. The solution was difficult but easy: I bought a new $1200 LG WT7600KKA yesterday from Best Buys in Louisville, KY. Giving our current front load to charity.

While we were impressed with this refrigerator with its Converta drawer and smart styling inside and out, we have been nothing but disappointed in the quality of this product. Extremely disappointed in the product and the customer service. We purchased this fridge in April/11 and it was delivered in June/11. In July/11, the Converta drawer stopped working and as the fridge was under store warranty. It was replaced with a second fridge same model, in Sept/11. Two weeks after delivery, the freezer drawer on this fridge malfunctioned causing it to open and immediately close without remaining open to remove food items. (Freezer drawer opens when a button is pushed). This fridge was returned and in Oct/11, we received our third fridge of this model. Since Oct/11, this fridge is awaiting its fourth compressor, in 2.5 years. We have been without a fully functioning fridge for most of the lifespan of this fridge. Repair people are unfamiliar with the technology in this fridge, however according to the Sears technicians in conjunction with the LG technicians this fridge is repairable. My question is why does this this fridge always require a compressor annually? Fortunately we purchased an extended warranty on this appliance because I am told the replacement cost of the compressor is approximately $1000.00 plus applicable charges, tax, labor, etc. I regret this purchase immensely mostly because when the warranty expires in 1.5 years, this fridge will be in a landfill site somewhere, sadly.

I purchased the LG top load washing machine model WT4870C only two months ago. It kept giving this unbalance code and no matter what I tried it stopped. LG did a over the phone diagnostic and informed the repairman what was wrong with. I also told LG and the repairman over the phone it looked like the drum seam was splitting. They totally discounted what I said, and a week later the repairman showed up with a number of parts. He took one look and said the drum (tub) was splitting apart. I called Lowes but the only way Lowes would give me my money back or replace it, was if I got a return authorization number from LG. My concern was that I just got a lemon and wanted to avoid a bunch of repairs. I wanted a new one. LG executive department said she could not give me a return authorization until I gave the repairman a chance to fix it. I was not happy but I said Id do it. Then, I thought I would check the LG recalls. It seems that this drum problem was not new. Then, I got into the consumer affairs comments and couldnt believe all the different types of problems LG washing machines were having! Repair after repair! Serious issues... flooding?! They even texted me for information which I sent - in April -- and to date, absolutely no response. This is not acceptable!Original Review: I bought an LG refrigerator in 2014 and in December of 2020, it failed completely - cooling and freezing. I had a local authorized LG serviceman come and and he called tech support only to find out it was unrepairable. However, LG refuses to honor their warranty -- 7 years sealed system and 10 year compressor. After many emails they agreed to issue me a small payment but of course I have not seen anything! They are awful!!

I bought an LG gas range in 2008! From the beginning, I have had nothing but problems with it. To get anything done about it, you have to spend hours on the phone and literally fight for something to be taken care of. Now, in 2013, I have peeling knobs on the range. The plastic on the stainless steel knobs is warped, cracked and coming off. My goal for a stainless range was to look nice and professional; now it looks **! I called thinking they would help me. Guess what? Nope! They will do nothing, but they will sell me new knobs at about $70 a pop. Yes, for one knob! Can you believe the insanity and the nerve? We own a restaurant, and I can get a commercial knob for my range for $10. This company is awful. I told the customer service representative I spoke with that I buy a lot of equipment for rental properties and I will never, never buy an LG appliance again. She didnt really care!

Like thousands of other LG Refrigerator victims my new LG model LSXS26366S died. I had to throw out over $200.00 worth of fresh food, spent another $1000 on repairs. I called LG speaking to call centers overseas trained to kill you with kindness as they provide no help. Then had to pay a local company to look at it, the technicians said I hate to tell you youre screwed sir, a sealed system failure. Compressor. Then LG on the 4th day arranged a company that showed up in the 1970 tiny pickup truck, they do not accept credit cards cash only- yup sealed system failure that will be another $89.00 bucks. $1,100 to fix it. The Federal Trade Commission is allowing LG Electronics USA to continue to rip-off Americans. LG is aware of their defective compressors & systems. I was told they are back ordered in Korea, could be 2 months before parts become available. A Class Action Lawsuit must be filed to protect Honest Americans from this company. Furthermore - If your large retail chain store is selling LG appliances - YOU ARE RIPPING OFF Your customers.

Love the door compartment with Interior lighting and the outside window. Also love the pullout freezer on bottom with side by side refrigeration on top. Seems roomier than others with four drawers and multiple shelves. Shelf configuration options are helpful, and this LG seems more convenient for use on a daily basis. The stainless does show dirt or spots on the exterior, but it cleans easily with stainless cleaner. The beeper that sounds when door is inadvertently left open is also a plus. Ice maker works pretty well w/ crushed and cubed options. Have not used all the bells and whistles as a “Smartfrig,” but very satisfied overall.

I bought a 4 door LG refrigerator. Its a French door on top with 2 freeze drawers in the bottom. I paid about $50 more to get a counter depth which is fantastic for the space in my modular home with an air vent in front of the space. This model has plenty of space in the refrigerator compartment. It looks like changing the water filter will be easy and convenient. It does have a drawer at the bottom which is nice but it would have been a better design if it would slide out when only one door is open on the refrigerator. You have to have both doors open to utilize the space. The same with the right side drawer that holds produce. You cant get it open all the way before the left edge hits the center strip of the left side French door. I have only had it a month so will have to do another review after 5 years. This LG is a replacement for a 4 1/2 year Samsung that had constant problems with the ice maker freezing up.. I Will never buy Samsung products again. Their Customer Service is atrocious.

We purchased our LG refrigerator in December 2012. It was a bottom freezer unit with French doors in stainless steel. A 36 inch wide model that set us back just over $1200. It was a good looking appliance with nice features but not very durable. In November 2018, just weeks before Thanksgiving, the compressor failed. I got online and read numerous horror stories about dealing with LG to have the unit repaired. I was coming up with estimates of around $900 to repair. We found the quickest way to solve our problem was to write it off as a bad decision and get something else. When we were purchasing our new one, not affiliated with LG of course, the salesperson at the store said her LG only lasted two years. I guess we were fortunate to get almost six years before ours gave up the ghost. I have heard newer appliances are not as durable as older models. But something this costly should last for at least ten years if it is taken care of.

My dishwasher is not heavily used (6x/week) and within 18 months of owning it the stainless finish on the control panel (around the POWER) button started to wear off. I was told this was outside the warranty period and could pay to replace the door (for essentially 1/4 of the price I paid for the dishwasher). The dishwasher has been fine, not spectacular (the dishes are often still wet after drying overnight, I have tried every combination of drying cycles to improve this). Overall very disappointed in the quality of the dishwasher, wont be buying an LG product again.

I purchased a Brand New LG refrigerator in 2015. In June 2020 the refrigerator stopped cooling. My family was on vacation while this happened so we lost everything in the fridge and freezer. I called LG and they dispatched a technician to come out 5 days later. The technician came and verified that it was the compressor and it had to be order. Weeks later they came back with a compressor that didnt work after waiting 3 days for the refrigerator to cool. A few weeks later the technician came back out with another compressor. After 3 days of waiting, the refrigerator cooled down which was great BUT the ice maker did not make any ice. The ice maker worked perfectly before the original problem. So when I called the technician back, they came out weeks later and verified that it is the ice maker went bad and verified that the part that is needed is discontinued but they could use a used part to fix the problem for $450 including labor and no warranty. Why would I invest $450 additionally when I spent $2557.00 for a brand new refrigerator in 2015 that barely lasted 5 years and losing all my refrigerated and frozen food during a pandemic. Then I find out that the refrigerator was actually manufactured in 2010 and I over paid as this model was suppose to be discounted. At the end of the day, I was royally screwed and LG doesnt seem to care or attempt to own up to this. This whole process was a big inconvenience to my family as it wasted about 4-5 months and end up with my problem not being resolved.

We purchased an LG washer new from Home Depot on August 27, 2012. We purchased a 5 year warranty from Home Depot at that same time. Today we noticed stains on some clothes, and discovered significant rusting from the metal under the bleach dispenser (which we never even use). I called the Home Depot warranty company and they said that rust was not covered!! I then contacted LG and they said rust was not covered but they might be able to do something. However, when they learned I had purchased a warranty from home depot they said they could do nothing. Meanwhile, there are numerous other complaints about this LG rust issue, including on their website from other consumers. We are now out of luck on a $1200 Washer. We did everything we were supposed to do. This is a product liability issue, and a warranty scam on several levels. LG is negligent. The Home Depot warranty is negligent as our less than 2 year old machine now ruins clothes and should be replaced or repaired. Please help us.

Bought my LG refrigerator 5 years ago to the day and the freezer and fridge wont cool - at room temperature. Called customer service and they said someone could come out on the 18th which doesnt work because I have a fridge full of food. They said that they could provide me with a list of authorized LG repairmen and I could use them for warranty work. They confirmed that my fridge was under warranty when I provided the serial number. I was emailed a list and when I called the first company on the list they told me that need an email from LG authorizing the work. I called LG back and was told I had to provide the part numbers to generate the email - obviously I cant answer this question. I convinced them this was impossible and they said they couldnt help because I had no proof of purchase. I told them the previous person had said it was covered and they told me there was no record of my previous call (even though both times I called through the App and provided the serial number and model number). Not sure where to go next.

My refrigerator has been a nightmare since the day I bought it. A month into the purchase the freezer drawer would not pull out. No big deal. The repairman came and fixed it. Recently, however, was the worst when I walked downstairs on Christmas night and heard dripping water and found it coming from the ceiling of the bedroom-right underneath the fridge. At midnight my grandchildren and I we were unloading food into our cheap garage fridge which we paid about $300 for and has never given us an ounce of trouble! This occurrence was another water line that goes to the ice dispenser. My LG is 5 years old and this is the second time this has happened. It has ruined my wood floors for the second time. I have to replace baseboard for the second time. I have to replace sheetrock for the second time. But this time I have to replace my beautiful cabinetry in my kitchen and that is almost impossible to match and will be a major expense. The first time the repairman came he told me LG uses cheap tubing that cracks over time (less than two years). He replaced one tube, but evidently not the other, hence the second major leak. The tubing cost around $12 to replace, less the house call for the repairman. Now can anyone tell me why LG cant put a piece of decent tubing on the back of the refrigerator in the first place. It would save so many people so much grief, so much money and so much time. Come on LG, cant you put out an appliance that would make people happy rather than cost them a fortune in house repair? For an extra $12? Really? You cant spare a $12 profit to make a decent appliance? Remember, Life is Good, until your LG refrigerator leaks through your wood floors and sheetrock - twice.

Have been very satisfied with my LG Side by Side. Have had it now for 6 years and has worked flawlessly. Recommend this product to anyone looking for a reasonably priced fridge freezer. The automatic ice cube maker works better than any other one we have owned - never jams or freezes up and turns off automatically when it reaches setting on tray.

I purchased a LG Premium Repair and Protect Service Plan on 6/14/17 ($385) because of a problem with my washer. A tech came out several days later and determined that the tub seal had failed and water had destroyed the bearing. He ordered a part, which took weeks to show up. He replaced the part but the machine wasnt right. He tried removing & replacing the part but that didnt help. He said he contacted LG support service for contract techs and they gave him several thing to try but none worked. The tech made a total of 5 visits before deciding to replace the bearing assembly and the tub. It has now been three months!, 90 days!!, 1/4 of a year!!!, and nothing. Ive called LG numerous times and get the run-a-round. They have to wait on a report from one department or another, they need to check on the parts order, they need to contact the service tech, they tell me the tech will be contacting me shortly, and on and on and... Every time I call its the same routine.

I absolutely could not get anyone to answer my calls. I purchased a washing machine in 2005 and it was starting to smell terrible by 2006. In 2009, it produced error readings so I purchased a new pump. In 2011, it started making noise. I took it upon myself and found out that the support brace that holds the inner drum rotted and broke off in three places. I have soft water and am a registered master plumber. The material used in this brace was no more than cast aluminum or pot metal (neither of the two should be used in a piece of equipment like this). The drum is stainless. What a waste.

I bought a LG refrigerator (model no. LFXS30766S) on December 2015. After two years of service the compressor went bad. I was able to get LG to replace the compressor, since it was still under its 10 year warranty although the repair cost me about $250 on labor cost. My sister in MN and I (in AZ) each purchased a new LG top loading washing machine in fall of 2019. We both have a problem with the washer leaving an ashy, white residue on all our black or dark clothing. It happens whether or not we have used soap and even if I just ran the cleaning cycle. My LG refrigerator was purchased in 2015 and stopped cooling in the end of May. I have a home warranty service. Hence, I called them to come check out. They evaluated the unit and concluded it was a very common cooling issue with LG refrigerators. They ordered the parts from LG as the refrigerator is still under warranty. It’s been almost one months since the parts were ordered. Yet we still haven’t heard back from LG the estimated arrival time of parts. The LG’s response was the parts were out of stock. I bought an LG side-by-side refrigerator in Aug. 2009. It has been a problem since it was delivered. The first one was replaced and a new model was brought out. This one has been a nightmare since. The ice maker freezes up and does not work; you only get shaved ice. It has leaked to the point that it has bubbled the paint and rusted around the bottom of the exterior part of the ice maker. I have contacted the extended warranty company Assurance, which I purchased. They have been out for four different occasions and replaced the ice maker. They said there was nothing they could do about the rusted and peeled paint.I contacted LG and they said it was something I intentionally did to the refrigerator otherwise, it would not have done it. I was told by NFM that the extended warranty would cover all defects. Under the LEMON law, after 3 times and it would be replaced. Aug 23, 2011, I contacted Assurance and the representative gave a claim number and said it would be replaced; transferred me to an underwriter and he informed me in no circumstances did I have an extended warranty that had a Lemon Law Clause in it. It would have had to be added separately. I told him I never heard of that. He explained that he would not exchange this product for that reason and I would have to contact Nebraska Furniture Mart, which I did and still waiting to hear from them. LG makes the worse products and hopefully, the government will step in and take away their right to sell this crap in the USA. I have also told them the freezer has problems also; freezes up too much or not enough, and the refrigerator part stays cold or freezes everything.

We purchased this oven in February 2016 years ago and it stopped working properly several months ago. Now the oven temperature does not get hot enough even when raising higher than the normal range. We cant bake anything properly with it because at best, it takes twice as long. Also, this oven has never been easy to clean as advertised. We have found that we have to work just as hard as we did with our older models, and with chemicals to get it clean. It has been a discouraging experience to have purchased a model that was a supposed upgrade only to have it not working in less than 2.5 years. Unfortunately, the warranty was only for 1 year and we did not purchase an extension.

We purchased a new LG stove from Best Buy. The oven failed to work under warranty. We called LG and they told us that the stove needed to have a dedicated electrical line. We had it done. By the time it was done, the stove was beyond warranty. Three hundred dollars later, the oven failed to work. LG would not deal with it. I called Geek Squad to try to fix it. They could not fix it. I purchased an LG Refrigerator LFX25961AL back in August of 2010. The refrigerator just stopped working on October 26th, 2013. The light remained on inside of the refrigerator and it failed to cool the food inside. I also noticed that the refrigerator was running much louder than usual. The ice inside of the ice maker began to melt and later that evening, the refrigerator had completely stopped working. All the items that I had inside the refrigerator and freezer have spoiled. I called the company concerning the warranty that I purchased along with the refrigerator and they told me that they could come out on Tuesday with no guarantee of the repairs being covered under the warranty. I have a refrigerator full of spoiled food and I am quite upset. Ive only had the product for three years. When you pay thousands of dollars for a product is this acceptable? I understand that things happen but this product should be fine for at least five years. I find this unacceptable. I began to search the internet for answers and I see that many of the customers who bought this product are having the same problem. I wish I could return this faulty product. I will never purchase anything from LG again. Buyers Beware.
