No matter what we do the dishes are always dirty. We have to completely pre-wash or half the silverware is unuseable. The thing is a piece of **. LG products are a joke. Every LG product we have bought has broken or worked poorly.

My less than 2 yr. old French LG fridge shut off last PM and acts like it is unplugged. Absolutely dead. HH Gregg, where we bought it offered no help and said it would be 7 days before someone could even come look at it. All they could say is....you should have bought the extended warranty. HMM - obviously, there are problems. Never dreamed would have problems this quickly. I will never buy anything from them again - very poor service. I have read many reviews about bad outcomes with LG fridges - wish I had read prior to my purchase. Does anyone have any ideas on what could have 100% shut down the unit? The power outlets all good - we have checked them with other electrical items.

We purchased a $3,000 LG refrigerator September 5, 2015. On February 17th it stopped working. Did not cool. We called our home warranty company, after two visits it was determined it had to be repaired by a certified LG technician. In speaking with LG to set that up, there is only one certified technician in the area. Called them twice to set up an appointment, they never returned the call. In addition, the compressor and all the moving parts are covered by a 7 or 10 year warranty depending on what it is. LG tried to sell me another one-year warranty for $475.00. Searched the reviews on the fridge we have, all of them stated problems with service (i.e., taking off of work to meet the repairman multiple times) only to have the fridge do the same thing within a six month period.Long story short - we went and bought a Whirlpool (made in the USA). BUYER BEWARE, stay away from LG. It does not stand for Life is Good - it stands for Lotsa Grief! I will never buy an LG product of any type - their customer service is beyond awful, their products are not top quality even though you pay a wheelbarrow full of money for them. Before we bought another fridge we called a repairman that we used before for another appliance and asked him what to stay away from - he said LG, Samsung and GE. I wish I had that information before we bought the nightmare that is sitting my kitchen which will be replaced on Saturday.

The refrigerators stainless exterior always has fingerprints. Freezer section is one drawer slide out with 2 interior sections so have to open entire thing when need one item. Interior door partitions fine, but shelving difficult to hold taller items. However, I have some issues these days with LG quality. Front load washer defunct after only several years. I have had the LG WT4870CT top load washer that I purchased exactly two years ago. I noticed rust around the bleach dispenser so I notified LG and let them know about the problem. When I finally got the proof of purchase to them they told me that I did not wipe the area properly. The rust is coming from under the bleach dispenser, leaking through to the top. I will need to hire someone to get to the area under the dispenser so I can take a picture of the problem. If I do it myself they might say they will not guarantee something that was not professionally repaired. It is very frustrating.

First, I like the fridge. Its attractive and when it works, it works great. However, the sealed refrigerant system, isnt. The week after the 1 year warranty ended, it stopped getting cold. Fine. Repair guy comes and refills refrigerant (didnt both checking for leaks or question how a sealed system lost its refrigerant). As expected, a few months later it dies again. He comes back and refills it, AND finds a leak which he repairs and replaces the compressor. Fast forward another year. Fridge dies again, and the saga with LG Customer support begins. I call. Explain the situation. The nice gentleman takes my info, says hes going to request a warranty extension to cover it. Then I wait. And wait. And wait.I call back two weeks later to inquire as to whats going on. Evidently he had misfiled it, so they had to start over. New guy takes the same info, insists Ill have to pay for repairs, but (after I demanded) said hed put in a request, but that I should get a call back 72 hours later. I give it a week and call back. Person I talk to says its still not decided and should get a call back Thursday (that was a Monday). Another week... I call the following Monday. Its now been over a month since I first called. Im told that my request for warranty coverage was denied, and after I asked, he tells me that it was decided last Thursday. At this point, I become unhinged and unload on the poor call center guy (I feel bad about this part) about how disrespectful it is that they cant be bothered to inform me of the status at ANY point along the way, nor follow up like they say theyre going to, and demanded to know what they were going to do about making this right. He gets his supervisor to override the decision and Im getting coverage finally. Great. They send the work order to a repair place in Los Angeles (Im up near Santa Barbara) and tell me that theyll be there the next day between 8-12. Next day, no show. Maybe I misheard him so I wait another day. No show. So I call back to ask whats going on.Evidently, the appointment was declined. So nice of them to let me know before I took time off work to wait for the guy. Fine... When can I get another one? to which they provide me with a phone number for the repair place (Repair place has 1 star on Yelp with 30 reviews btw, so you know Im expecting greatness... #sarcasm).I call repair place for the appointment, and they tell me the code they have from LG to cover the repair is no good, and Ill need to show the original purchase receipt. I understand having to show the receipt, except that LG knows from our history with them that Im the original owner. Ok fine, Ill dig that out, but what about the authorization code? They dont seem to be able to explain who is supposed to get that squared away. On the plus side, the repair guy did show up for the second appointment and determined that the compressor was shot. Now we have to wait AGAIN for LG to decide whether to replace it or the entire unit. For comparisons sake, heres how this SHOULD have gone down: 1. I call them. Tell them the history (which they already have) and explain the current situation. 2. They apologize profusely for the trouble, and the several fridges full of food Ive lost, and promise to get someone out ASAP. 3. Within 2 days, a repair guy shows up, determines its a similar/related problem. 4. LG offers to replace the entire fridge since this one is a lemon.

Had been noticing small (and some large too) particles on my clothes. Blamed it on everything else except the washing machine. Read book and was instructed to clean tub with bleach or a tub clean. Cleaned it and the large particles became small particles. In the beginning I rewashed everything which didnt help. So now I have to shake the clothes outside, rinse and spin again, put in dryer and shake clothes outside or pick or roll off the particles. Have to be very careful when clothing is wet because the particle will smear and leave a mark on the clothes. Does not clean the clothes as well either. I called company and was given foreign representative who read from a script saying to set the washer on a certain number she gave me and put phone near the machine. She said it is okay and had no error codes. Spoke to another person who said to have someone come in to check it. When reading the website about this machine, it has the identical problem with many other consumers. One person described the problem as having a can of Pepsi explode in machine. Many have had techs come to fix with no such help to the problem, just a large bill to pay. This is sad. I have a top loader bought in 2015. The front loaders appear to also have a smell which I seemed to combat with the bleach and leaving the top open. It is indescribable and I do intend to write to the State Attorney General as this does not seem to be something that should happen with a brand new machine and the company takes no responsibility for the problem. Too many consumers have this problem. I could go on but I get extremely upset and my daughter bought in 2016 a front loader and Im sure it will happen to her. My husband researched on computer and we have to try to get more of these particles dissolved which we are going to try with vinegar. Bleach breaks up the sediment which you cannot see but the vinegar supposedly dissolves it. I am 69 years old and have never had such a problem with a washing machine. This is a disgrace!!!

I purchased my LG refrigerator in 09/29/2015. After 4 years of service it suddenly stopped working. I had not heard of the problems til this moment. Looking at everything on the internet I wonder if I shouldnt just buy a different refrigerator. We have had a tech here and he is ordering a new compressor for our frig. We lost all or most of the food plus we had to purchase a small freezer to keep food in so we werent running out with our concerns about COVID. I had bought an extended warranty at the time of purchase because the fridge. Was only fully covered for 1 year. Now I understand LG has revised it to cover 5 years so I spent that money for nothing. We are retired and so our money is tight and every cost affects the budget. We havent had a refrigerator for just about a week and now I am thinking about buying a small one for my garage just to keep cold drinks and condiments. With the freezer and small fridge Ill have spent 400.00 dollars and I now I think the money would have been better spent buying a different brand. I havent had to deal with LG in any of this with my extended warranty and with other complaints not sure I want to. If you are reading these post stay away from LG refrigerator until they prove they have fixed these problems. They had to settle a class action lawsuit in 2014 and now are back in court as of 2019 with the same problem and new complaints. This means that LG has had an ongoing problem without resolution for over ten years and are willing to continue to sell these products. If this were a car company they would be forced to make a recall.

The worst item EVER that Ive bought in my entire life. Ive had a lot of amazing dishwashers over the years from cheap on up. This ones a nightmare. From Day 1 there were issues with LG. Plates dont stack. They immediately fall over (like dominoes). The cutlery holder malfunctioned almost immediately. It no longer locks together to hold the utensil basket in place. This results in the far end basket (one of 4) tipping over into the unit from the weight. The top rack organizing glasses, bowls or cups. Again items continually fall over. I (originally) thought adjustable times on both the top and bottom rack was a smart idea. Im sure it looked good on paper but its a complete and total failure. Nothing is secure. Nothing is reliable. Does LG even bother to test the equipment they build? From the bottom of my heart...if you see this dishwasher for sale please just run away as fast as you can!

I must agree with the reviews Ive read on this site. I purchased my LG washer and dryer in June of 2016. If the fact that it takes forever to clean my laundry which doesnt come out clean, it produces a terrible smell! At the floor level there is a drain and filter which instructions advise to clean monthly. It is hard for me, at 70 yo, to get down on the floor on my belly to clean this contraption, but it must be done. Draining the nasty water from this little hose (about the size of a pencil) is more than a notion. I agree with many others that for what I paid for this machine, I should have gotten a better product. I will never purchase another appliance with the LG label. Any others have experience with this smelly filtration system???

LG LFXC24726D purchased Nov 2015, sealed system failure Aug 2018. Sealed system parts under warranty but not labor. Doesn’t matter, because every authorized LG repair service we call refuses the appointment because LG owes them for multiple warranty parts reimbursements! What good is a warranty if no one will honor it? Need to stay up late to find a commercial for one of those class-action law firms. LG fails to stand behind their products. Meanwhile, it great to have spent thousands on a fridge and then have to revert to a dorm fridge.

So disappointed in this product and customer service! My husband and I built a house in 2017. Bought all of our appliances range, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator all in a bundle from Lowe’s in Bedford, IN. So elated about having a new house with all new appliances! My elation quickly turned in to total frustration! Only after 14 months of use the compressor went out. Let me repeat that AFTER 14 MONTHS! After several phone calls to the store, the customer info center the Lowe’s Extended Protection number. No one I spoke with could give us the same answers to any of our questions. It took weeks to get a service rep to even look at it and when he finally arrives and determined the compressor was bad he had no replacement with him. Had to be ordered which took awhile to arrive, a few more weeks before they could come back to install the new one. Only after cancelling and having to reschedule that appointment in which I had to miss work to be available to let him in to service the refrigerator. A loaner was offered at one point in time but I was told that could take a week to deliver not knowing that the replacement part would not be available on the first visit I declined. Was also told by one representative that we could just replace the refrigerator then only to be told by another that was not the case. I wrote down all the names of every one I spoke with and even had each one send me our dictated conversation in e-mail. They would not stand by their word. Never could I get a manager on the phone. Was always told that Customer Service does not have one. Most call centers operate off of a 3 tier system so I found it hard to believe that one. It took a total of 12 weeks to have the issue fixed Missed days at work, food loss, all the phone calls and time spent talking on the phone and getting no real answers. Was told at one point we could use a local repair man and the Extended Protection Plan that we purchased would cover the cost only to be told by someone else that it would NOT and if we chose that route it would void the EPP all together. Could had it fixed in 2 days as opposed to 12 weeks. The whole reason I am writing this review today is because after going through all of this our freezer isn’t defrosting correctly and therefore the ice maker isn’t working, the food in the freezer is barely frozen. The temp is set on minus 4 but the thermometer has placed on the inside barely reads 32 degrees. Here we go again!!!! So disheartening to spend so much money that you work so hard for on a product and to be so disappointed by it and the customer service that you have to deal with. LG 26.1 cu ft Side by Side Refrigerator with ice maker and Door within Door Black Stainless Steel Item # 708951 Model # LSXS 26386D.

Electric Range model number LDE3017SW. After only using my electric range a couple of times, I noticed steam and grease lines inside the door between the two glass panels. These lines and this film and grease have continued to cover the inside of the double paned window. My range always looks dirty as if I need clean the door windows, but the grease lines and steam lines are on the inside. I called to ask them to come to fix the seal or replace the door and they said they are unable to do so unless I pay someone to come take the door apart to clean it. I should not have to disassemble the door to clean it. The seal between the window panes are faulty or defective. I had my first Maytag range for the first 34 years without anything beyond normal wear and tear from use. This LG one cooks and bakes well, but has this issue which is hard to look at everyday. Also, the top is white and the burner glass top areas already have stain. This is not as big of an issue for me as the streaked windows in the door. LG has refused to send anyone out at their cost when this is a manufacturers defect.

We purchased the LG Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Model #LFX25960ST in May of
We purchased the LG Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Model #LFX25960ST in May of 2007. 1st issue was the Product Consumer Energy Rating. The Energy Rating LG gave was less than the average energy the fridge used. I receive a check from LG (I think) every quarter to make up the difference in energy used (around $4.00). Next came the ice maker. The ice maker would freeze up and overflow with water or just stopped working all together. The ice dispenser in the door has never crushed Ice the way it should. We had 3 service calls on ice maker issues, 2 of which the ice maker had to be replaced. Still does not crust ice the way it should. I just gave up trying to get it fixed. Then I noticed that the hard wood floors in front of the fridge were starting to warp. Ceiling tiles in basement showed where water had leaked from kitchen above. We pulled down the tiles but were unable to find a leak. We pulled out the fridge and saw where water had wet the sheetrock and floor behind the fridge. Thinking there was a leak in the plumbing behind the fridge we ripped out the sheetrock, finding nothing. We then decided to leave the fridge pulled out to try and determine where the water was coming from. About 30 minutes later, I returned to the kitchen and noticed that water was spewed to the right side of the fridge and all across the dining area, approx. 15. We turned off the water going to the fridge and contacted LG. 2 days later a repairman came in an immediately noticed the warped flooring. He the checked the ice maker and the fridge and found nothing. He turned the water back on and asked me to dispense water from the water/ice dispenser. When I pushed the water dispenser, water, again, shot out all across the kitchen and dining room. The repairman was then able to show us where the line coming from the valve on the fridge to the filter had split. He stated the line was faulty and would have to be replaced. 2 weeks later the repairman returned and replaced the faulty line. LG did pay for fridge repairs and repairs to my floor but nothing for the downtime or aggravation we endured. Then we had issues with the interior light in the fridge. It would stay on even when the fridge was closed. Again we contacted LG for repair. Now after having this fridge for only 7 years, the entire cooling system, fridge and freezer, has gone out, resulting in ruined and sour food. We contacted LG again. My husband spoke with the lady from LG. At one point in the conversation, he told the lady, Im sorry, I know this isnt your fault, but Im very aggravated right now dealing again with this Lemon of a refrigerator. The LG Supervisor then told him I understand your aggravation, but you are just going to get even more aggravated when you hear what I have to say. I cannot help you because the refrigerator is out of warranty. WHAT??? Who says that??? Where is the customer service??? So now Im stuck paying an $85.00 service call plus replacement parts and labor to fix ANOTHER issue with this LG Refrigerator. I am so done with anything LG.

Updated on 07/02/2019: This is a follow up to my last review. Yet again, my appointment was rescheduled from July 2 to July 8!! I was sent an email twice over the weekend asking me to call to reschedule my appointment that was supposed to be on 7/2. When I called on Monday morning (7/1), I was told that my appointment needed to be rescheduled AGAIN! They rescheduled my appointment for 7/8 - a week from now! How do you sleep at night, LG and A & E Solutions, knowing that you are robbing your customers and have no intentions of honoring the warranty on your products? I will never buy another LG appliance. If I could give this company zero stars, I would. If someone is serious about making this right, you can send me a private message asking for my phone number. Otherwise, keep pointing the finger at everyone else.Updated on 06/25/2019: This is an update to my review on 6/19/19. The response that I got from LG to my review was: We understand that you are frustrated with the refrigerator and we do care about our customers. Because without you there is no us. So we would love to assist you at the moment. We do see that service has been set for June 24. Please keep us informed on the status and let us know how the repair went. LG DID NOT SHOW UP ON JUNE 24TH!! AM I SURPRISED??? NO.LGs customer service department might as well be non-existent. Dont spend your money on an LG appliance unless you are confident that you will never have a maintenance issue. For me, the maintenance issue came after 3 years of owning my $1500 refrigerator!! Because the warranty is under LG, no private repair company will come out to fix it because they have told me that they will never be paid by LG. Furthermore, I have found that very few private repair companies will service LG appliances because of their reputation.Original Review: I bought an LG refrigerator approximately 3.5 years ago and it already died - both the refrigerator and the freezer!! I was told that it would take 9 DAYS to have a service repair company come out. I have tried being in touch with customer service twice and have been placed on hold for at least 45 minutes before I finally hung up each time. The worst customer service. Based on the reviews here, I am not confident that the issue will even be resolved once the repair company comes if I still have to wait for replacement parts. Meanwhile, I am trying to live out of coolers; not to mention the amount of money I lost on food that went bad.LG, please do me a favor and resist sending me the same response that you have sent to everyone who has written a review. LG Refrigerators response: Thank you for notifying LG of the experience you have encountered thus far. This is not indicative of how we want our valued customers to feel. We’ll be happy to look into this and answer any questions that you have. Please send a private message so that we can assist you. Send a private message where??? How about a sincere response rather than one that is copied and pasted. And please dont act like you care about your customers. Your lack of customer service tells the story for itself.

Our LG dishwasher has a odor coming from the inside after a wash cycle after the dishes are removed and it is empty for several hours. Have tried pouring water in the bottom and pumping it out operating the pump by pressing the on button, normal then normal and power scrub together to pump water out of bottom. Tried wiping it down after a cycle, no help, poor design, wish I had never purchased this unit. My friend has the same unit with the same problems, will not dry dishes, odors, is this really a safe dishwasher to use. If it has a odor that means it is not getting hot enough to sanitize the dishes.

I purchased a LG refrigerator Lfc25760st from Home Depot. Within 1st year the plastic parts inside were cracking and falling apart. It started with the wheels popping off the drawers like they were nothing. I called only to have them accuse me of being extremely rough with my new refrigerator. Then said I had to get someone out there to look at it. Guess what? I live 2 hours from the nearest service dept. So Id have to pay for that, mind you its still under warranty at that point. I call and find out Ill have to pay the 50.00 and 0.35 per mile of which LG will not reimburse me. So, I just skip it because at that point the drawers still side out without the elcheapo made wheels. Then everything else begins to crack and break. So I call again.Im so mad because they will not help me and its now 100% clear that its LGs fault this is happening. I have my old GE side by side that is 20 years old, been through teenagers, young kids and moving 3 times. Its still running and the insides are great. Not the LG!! My drawers all falling in! The rails have cracked and the drawers fronts are even cracking off. Never has there been such a completely uncaring company that is unwilling to rectify problems that are obviously their fault. Its time for a class action law suit. They went cheap on production for these refrigerators and we the consumer trusted this company to produce a quality appliance. I now walk away from everything LG and Im not the only one.So much for wanting a nice stainless french door refrigerator for my kitchen. I have contacted the company over 6 times and get nothing but run around. I even tried to get them to at least give me some type of discount on all the parts that are broken that should not be. It will be well over 400.00 to replace all the broken parts not including shipping. I have talked to other people that the exact same thing happened with them. LG also told them they have never heard of these problems before. Gave them the exact same run around. They replace their insides only to have them all break again. Im done. Its lawyer time.

I bought my Fridge (French Door, Bottom Freezer) in June 2012. The Crisper cover is now broken in several places and I just paid $50+ to replace it! Very, very flimsy material! I wonder how long this one will last? I have a 27-year-old Kenmore Fridge, now in the basement, which is still in perfect condition physically and working great! Why cant they make appliances like that anymore?

It has a freezer and the normal fridge part and it has two doors which is convenient for everyone that uses it and there were no issues with it at all. LG has a great fridge that causes no issues and works great. It was recommended to me by a friend who also owns LG and they had a good experience with LG without any issues at all. They have had the fridge for years and have had no issues and that is why they recommend it to me.

My 80 yr old parents bought an LG high end fridge 2 1/2yrs ago with an extended 5yr warranty. Nothing but problems. First was a seal (I believe) than it became very noisy, so noisy my father could hear it without his hearing aids! Now the entire fridge/freezer won’t cool! Compressor was replaced with no improvement. Now they are completely without a fridge for 3 weeks!!! They were offered a temp fridge, but there is no room for one. 80 years old and no fridge - unacceptable!!!! This fridge is obviously a lemon - they just want a new fridge and no one will help them. Very disappointed in LG and Best Buy!!!!

We purchased a matching LG Tromm washer and dryer (front loading), approximately three years ago. For at least the past two years we have had a terrible time with clothes smelling sour and mildewy after being washed. Subsequent researched turned up countless complaints about this same problem. Weve tried many fixes some of which seemed to help a little, but the problem would always returned. The dryer unit started making a terrible thumping sound after about two years of use. I still do not know exactly why this is occurring. Some of what I read suggested it was the silicone wheels that get warped from the heat. Other posts indicate it is a problem with a crack in the barrel. My biggest issue at this point with the dryer is that it has never dried the clothes very well. I routinely have to run two or more cycles to get the clothes dry, especially things like jeans and towels. In addition, this morning I noticed that the dryer actually stops before the end of the cycle. I had it set for 1:43 Anti-bacterial setting (ironically to help with the smell from the washer), but the dryer cut off after only 30 minutes.Considering how much we paid for these items, it is very upsetting and frustrating. I have not contacted LG, in part because so many have done so to no avail and I dont have time to waste on such useless attempts.

I just purchased new LG appliances about 4 months ago. All are ok except the dishwasher. There are two main issues I continue to have. The bottom rack continues to come off track and it appears the design of the dishwasher does not have a large enough track to keep the wheels on track. I continue to have issues with the dishes not getting clean. If we do not pre-rinse the dishes completely, they will come out dirty with the residue dried on. I generally use the normal cycle, which takes 2 1/2 hours.I called customer service and was told that the normal cycle is designed to reach a temperature of 96 degrees and have a moderate spray intensity. The agent further explained that this is not a sufficient wash cycle to clean dishes unless they are completely pre-washed! She recommended using Power Scrub, a cycle that takes close to 3 hours, or adding in addition rinse cycles to The normal cycle. I am so disappointed that I spent over $700 on a dishwasher that is not designed to wash dishes! Please DO NOT make the same mistake.

I bought an LG washer/Dryer July this year (2015). The water pump sprang a leak. Went online and submitted for repair. Got a local appliance place to fix it. Talked to rep from local shop, said they couldnt get LG parts to answer or return call for 2 days. At this point I havent had a washing machine for 6 days. I called LG rep to contact local rep and get this taken care of. If LG does get it shipped by tomorrow, Friday fall on a holiday. Local dealer wont get the part until next Monday the 4th of Jan. 2016. This will be going on 2 weeks without a washer. This is unreasonable to me. I went with an LG product because of the Quality and support that I havent received as of yet. I would hope that a senior representative would read this. Unsatisfied Customer!

This is not acceptable!Original Review: I bought an LG refrigerator in 2014 and in December of 2020, it failed completely - cooling and freezing. I had a local authorized LG serviceman come and and he called tech support only to find out it was unrepairable. NOTHING they suggested helped with the black slime and odor. What a BIG disappointment after I researched to find a good washing machine. How can they say the problem was resolved. Thats a total lie. We bought our LG fridge from Best Buy about 4 years ago. Earlier this week our compressor stopped working. We lost the entire freezer and fridge of food. After calling the company and spending more than one hour on the phone they scheduled an appointment for me within 2 days and told me not to worry. It was under warranty. I waited home all day on the scheduled appointment from 12-5 and no one came. When I called the company supposedly coming, they told me they had no record of an appointment at my home. Upon calling LG back they said sorry this appointment was never actually confirmed but since everyone is closed, you call some service providers and we will pay them if they can come. No one will come, they all laugh at me and tell me that LG will never pay them and that it will take upwards of 8 weeks to even get an appointment with them. Ive now called LG back two more times, they made an appointment, confirmed an appointment and subsequently when calling that service company, they report they never received that confirmation so again they did not show up. This will be my 5th phone call upwards of 60 minutes on each and all they can offer me is $250 for loss of food. They are not willing to offer anything else to help out with possibly going 8 weeks without a fridge. To say this is disappointing is a huge understatement. I will never buy another LG appliance.

The refrigerator had a whole lot of space inside of it. I mean I could always fit two or three gallon milk jugs in there. It also was really quiet so you could never hear it like some of the older less efficient refrigerators out there. But to improve the refrigerator I would add water filters and a water dispenser. I would also add more freezer space because people freeze a lot of things like meats. Also, I would give it Bluetooth capability with a tv screen next to the water dispenser. Otherwise LG has indeed met my expectations. When they show off they really know how to make appliances look good. I think what they do and what they are good at is keeping things simple. Sometimes, these other brands have too much going on that it just doesnt do it for most people.

DO NOT BUY AN LG WASHING MACHINE!! Upon installation, our brand new top of the line front loading washing machine, LG Model # WM3470HWA, exhibited extreme water hammer noise, which resonated through our entire 2,700 sq ft home, immediately after the sensing cycle and during the filling cycle. LG Phone Tech Support recommended that our plumbing contractor (a master plumber), install water hammer arrestors (3 sets were eventually installed, in between visits from the LG 3rd party and Factory Rep). We also reduced the water pressure, even though the existing pressure setting was well within LG tolerances. he third party service rep, during a call w/ Tech Support at LG was told that the water hammer noise is intrinsic to the machines operation. In the end, after going to the very highest level of Customer Support at LG, they refused to address the problem, or stand behind the product in any way. The result... we are stuck with a inferior, defective washing machine. If you go to other blogs, you will see that this problem is quite common with LG washing machines.

My refrigerator (LSXS22423) a side by side is 2 years and 3 months old. Wasnt making ice Sunday and by Monday everything in freezer was thawed. The compressor is shot!! Really... 2 years??? I was told by a person who SELLS LG refrigerators that he wouldnt recommend them to anyone. Their compressors are known to die after about 2 years... Really?? He said even if you wanted to repair it they would use the same compressor model that failed and since so many of them are failing we are looking at a 3 to 4 month wait-list... Really?? I bought a whole new LG kitchen 2 years ago. My fault I did not read the reviews first. Totally my fault, but when you pay $1700 for a fridge you expect more than two years out of it. I had a GE before and had it for 18 years. Still worked when I bought my precious LG. I am a senior who has to watch his money and this situation just makes me sick. I dont deserve this nor do any of the other LG customers who have been screwed. Where is the Quality Control?? It is a crime and you should be ashamed. 2 years... REALLY?? Yeah, really!!!

Issue: The refrigerator (French door LFXS30766S) broke down on 7/4/2018, just couple days after two years warranty. Find out it’s “sealed system” issue and this is still covered by LG for five years. Called LG and reported the issue on 7/6/2018, they have created ticket and mentioned that they will find the technician and assign it. How many days since then? One month now. Technician is yet to come my home and look into issue. In between, I have called so many times to LG, each time their answer is standard, they are still trying to find the technician and escalating the ticket or creates new ticket, which is nothing but their excuse to tell customer to wait for 3-5 business days. I wonder why no technician wants to work with LG, whoever I talked to they either says they are two far away from my destination or they don’t work with LG. I have even asked LG if they can assign work order to “Sears home service” they are reliable and guarantee they will come, but LG says it is not possible for them to assign the work order to Sears. Why? No idea. After so many phone calls and many tickets where are we? Nowhere near the resolution. I wouldn’t recommend LG product anymore. Settlement that I am looking: LG assign reliable tech which I can count on or refund the money.

We purchased an LG Bottom Drawer Freezer (Model #LFX21976ST/05) 2 1/2 years ago. Recently water was dripping from the door. The ice in the ice machine was melting, and the food in the freezer was half frozen! LG customer service was helpful trying to determine the problem, walking me through trouble shooting what the problem could be only to let me know I would be charged $210.00 for a service call. I looked online and found out this is a common complaint and that even after service the same thing occurs after some time... I have had this LG FRENCH DOOR LFX31945ST refrigerator less than a year. It has been noisy since they delivered it but when I brought it up to the tech that had come back to replace the freezer door b/c of discoloration....he made it sound as though the compressors just make more noise in the new ones. So I thought, ok... I will give it some time... Well, as time went on, the noise got louder and louder. I can actually hear it buzzing and whining over my television in the Living Room (so many random noises off and on thru day, I couldnt possibly describe them all). So I call servicing dealer back and tell them still loud and seems to be constantly running. I also discovered while I was researching others complaints that there has been a problem with back wall icing up, so I looked and yes back wall completely iced over.Tech said he hadnt heard of any of these being problems, but Then he heard noise and saw ice. So he ordered new back panel, defrost control and module. When parts came in, he replaced everything. Less than 8 days later, still whining and other noises and now developed a bad smell/very bad smell that when fridge was opened would take over entire kitchen and living room area. By the time tech comes, the smell is not detectable b/c it dissipates over time, only to come back randomly. He denotes no problem found b/c noises werent as loud as they can be when he is here, even though I still think its louder than it s/b. At this point we are very frustrated to spend this kind of money and have so many problems is sickening. Problems continue and I call again, service comes out and back wall icing over again. Tech hears the loud noises (high pitch whine has become a constant, loud sounding fans and an occasional clunky sound) and the SMELL is back. Tech now has witnessed everything. He gets on phone w/ LG and he is told we must have introduced the smell. REALLY! I know we have not but we are advised to try charcoal like for a fish tank filter. I tell the tech that Im concerned b/c warranty is up in June and how do I know if he reorders everything hes replaced once that it wont continue to be a problem later. It had to be an inherent problem and what is LG gonna do about it. I feel they should extend warranty or give me replacement fridge. He did his best to tell LG that they need to do something more... Their solution is its fixable so they reorder everything again (back panel, defrost control and module main). I call customer service to voice my concerns and ask about extending warranty, to ensure this problem actually gets fixed. I am read some script that is obviously told to every customer and the Supervisor I spoke with was not nice. He had a nasty disposition and offered me no resolutions. He just made me angrier. So parts arrived and another tech comes to install the parts. It has been around 9 days and guess what? SMELL is back, noises are worse than they were before this last service call and ice is beginning to build up on the back wall again. So here we go again. I am going to call again, wait again to be notified morning of service call and given a 2-hr window of when they will be here (so I cant plan anything for that day b/c no specific time for service call). Another day wasted, more aggravation and I am fairly confident the problem wont be resolved. Instead I will be advised to purchase an additional warranty coverage since mine expires in June. I am not looking forward to complaining to customer service again b/c, well Ive seen how they treat customers and their philosophy is the customer is always a nuisance and they wont help me at all. So here we go, I will place call and waste another day. Do yourself a favor and dont buy this product, no matter how much you love the lighting, the door in door feature and the versatility of the shelves inside... Trust me - not worth the headache. Oh and not real stainless steel.

I bought an LG refrigerator from Home Depot in August 2007. It is the freezer on the bottom model. After about two months I noticed dripping in my basement. The ice maker plastic hose had a pin hole right behind the fridge and water was leaking down into the basement and onto the I beam. The whole beam was filled with water. Home Depot came and replaced the plastic hose. Then it leaked under my new laminate flooring and ruined a section of it.I just shut the ice maker and the water to it off. I use old fashioned ice cube trays because I am afraid to have another leak. I also have had to replace the crispers in the refrigerator section twice as the plastic keeps cracking, making the crisper unusable. The new ones dont quite fit and are relatively expensive. I need a new one again. Thats 5 repairs in 6 years. I cant afford new fridge but this one is a piece of junk.

We purchased a LG TROMM Washer in Jan. 2007 (WM2487h*M) and we should have known better as we had to trade it out within the first few days of purchase because the water was filling up in the drum after the rinse cycle and the symbol FE was displayed. Luckily, Best Buy exchanged it for a new one without hesitation and it was almost as if they had already been down this path before with several customers. Fast forward less than five years later and the same thing has happened. We just spent $640 on repairs including a new water pump, a new water valve and a new memory board for this hunk of junk of a washer. In hindsight we should have just bought a new machine as the warranties had all expired. The guarantee for the new memory board is for two years supposedly, but we have yet to see paperwork from the registered LG repairman. Although he did state that the new memory board was registered with LG. I guess well just need to keep pressing them on this until we see something in writing.

We have a 5 month old refrigerator that has not been cooling since 11/15/2016. A tech named Jerry came on 11/16/2016 and told us that he will need to call a supervisor for assistance moving the refrigerator in order to repair it but he will call us back that afternoon. (By the way, it’s on rollers. My husband and I were able it with no issue and I’m 7 months pregnant.)We did not hear back from Jerry until a week later on 11/21/2016 even after multiple voicemails. When we called customer service for assistance because we couldnt reach the tech we were told that there was nothing they could do until the following Monday. We went all weekend without a refrigerator and had to throw out ALL of our food. When a different tech finally showed up on Tuesday 11/22/2016 we were told it would be another week (after Thanksgiving) before repairs could be done. Now we have to wait until 11/28/2016 (please remember that the refrigerator stopped working on 11/15/2016).In the meantime I have no way of storing milk for my two-year old whos been eating fast food every day because we have no way of keeping food cold. I called and spoke with corporate supervisor LeeAnn who was extremely unhelpful and rude. She told me I’d just have to wait a week and didn’t offer any solutions or to help us a bit. From the second she came on the phone, she was argumentative and acted as if I was inconveniencing her. We’ve had to call all of our family and cancel Thanksgiving. I understand that it’s Thanksgiving week and that getting someone out to repair the refrigerator might be an issue; however, we actually called the issue in a week before Thanksgiving. If something had been done then we wouldn’t be in the predicament!

After getting rejected by the LG customer service, I filed a complaint with the BBB (case #**) and after their mediation, it was rejected by LG again for the same reasons that Darelyn received, That they do not warranty cosmetic damage. I wonder if they ran that by their marketing team as this is what sells these models. I am trying to start a class action suit against LG on this obvious defect in material used. Purchased a new LG refrigerator and glass top LG range from Lowes, Kailua Kona in 09/2016. From day 1 the range was faulty. Burners flickered on and off every 2 seconds regardless of how high unit was set. Store said this was normal. Shortly after, the outside coil to one of the larger burners stopped working. Refrigerator - we were not aware of a slow leak inside the water dispenser until rust appeared at the rim of the dispenser and caused the stainless steel film to come off. In researching online it is known that LG is aware of the refrigerator water dispenser issues. We did have the range repaired while under warranty but because we were not aware of the slow leak in the fridge we will need to cover the $800 cost to replace door and dispenser ourselves. This is unfair given LG is aware they sold an appliance with a defective water/ice dispenser.

I have had machine (WT1101CW) for 20 months and problems since beginning. Problem intermittent from beginning and I got mad but let it go. Called within year and they did something via phone at machine. Problems persisted and I called a number of times as I got angrier and they did nothing. Problem is constantly out of balance condition and clock and mechanism seems to keep repeating steps. It rinses and again and again and clock jumps all around. I finally put on special and set spin only to get water out but it goes from 13 minutes to eight and then back to ten minutes. I finally put clothes wet into dryer. Problem was intermittent initially but now seems to be problem every time. I cant stand with machine all day so generally takes today six hours to do one load wash. Out looking for a replacement machine and when purchase will put this on curb of my busy street with sign about its problems. Company recently said wont fix machine under warranty and I must pay. Ive already paid for their junky machine and wont give them any more money. Anyone who buys this companys washing machines has to be crazy in my opinion. I should have purchased a good Sears set originally.

Kenmore and LG refrigerator have known compressors that fail way before the life of these appliances. I know because mine failed today. I talked to LG and Sears/Kenmore and neither cared. They each blamed the other. My refrigerator is only four years old and I paid over $3,000 for it. I know I am not alone. There is a class action lawsuit against LG for this same problem. I advise that everyone that has this problem join in. Don’t let these companies take advantage of us any longer.

I spent two ** days trying to find out what the codes from my LG LMX28988st refrigerator were trying to say. This fridge I bought From Sears for $2500 3 years ago stopped being cold. I called LG & Sears tech support asking for a service manual, both were less than helpful. I finally found a service manual on a blog link, it was so easy to find out the blinking code said the circuit board and the compressor needed replaced on my 3 year old fridge. (My parents fridge is over 20 yrs old still works.) So I guess dont buy LG or from Sears. I’m ** I wasted all that time talking to useless customer service and getting ** by them without any help.

Every so often greasy black stuff gets on our wash. I think I found the problem. Inside the tub there are three plastic pieces with little rollers on them. I removed them and found lots of black slimy stuff built up. It was really gross. I cleaned them as best of could, but we probably need to get rid of this washing machine as it ruins so much clothes. It is not worth it any more.

I purchased an LG stove less than 5 years ago. Shortly after the warranty of one year expired, the electronic keypad went out. With the keypad out, you are not able to use the stove for anything - burners or stove part. I contacted the dealer where we had purchased the stove for $850 and he got us the part and replaced it. We had to wait a few weeks for the part to come in. Now the electronic keypad has gone out again and after contacting LG, we were told that they will not stand behind their product or the parts past the warranty period. The warranty on the part was 90 days. We have to fix it to do anything with it. Bottom line to this, do not buy LG as their product is not good and they do not stand behind it. After fixing again, we will see about trading it in for a different brand. Our dealer has been wonderful. I feel sorry for them having to face the public for LGs products.

Today was going to be the 7 repair, however we found out that LG stopped offering parts for our model (parts discontinued). When I called LG customer service, instead of them offering solution, I was asked if I need a service to come and take the washer to a junkyard... People do not spent your hard earned money to buy from this company.

We were very excited to purchase all LG black stainless appliances for our new kitchen which was completed at the end of Sept 2017. By the end of October, we realized the dishwasher (LDF7774BD) is just the WORST. Since this is newer technology than what we had, it was my hope that we just needed to learn how to use it. It is now end of the year and still very dissatisfied. Dishes do not come clean, nor do they dry. Wash time is the longest I have ever seen - over 2 hours for a normal wash cycle. All racks are bad design. The bottom rack comes off the track every time we use it. The adjustable racks fall down no matter how you adjust them. The top rack is supposed to be height adjustable but the only adjustment we can find is to remove the racks so that we can wash our 6.5 inch tall glasses in the glass rack. Will be contacting the retailer and LG soon to find a solution. We were very excited to purchase all LG black stainless appliances for our new kitchen which was completed at the end of Sept 2017. We purchased a LG 25 cu ft refrigerator on 11-21-13. Not a small expense, $1400.00, on sale, too. Model LFC25776ST. It lasted less than 2 years. We called the company, and got NO more than an answering machine, leave your message, and well call you back. NOTHING happened. There was NO response from the company. I will NEVER do business with LG again, and am still angry at the lack of concern or even response from the company. LG has shown exactly NO corporate responsibility.

Purchased a set of Washer and Dryer from Home Depot. Just over the one-year warranty period, the dryer stopped heating. The service repairman was so rude I sent him away. I ordered a new heating unit online and fixed it myself and appears to be working ok now. The washer model #WT5101H top loading washer has never worked right since new. It continues to go out of balance when spinning and displays a UE error code. Then the washer will refill and swish clothes around for a while to redistribute the clothes and try to re-spin only to go out of balance again. It will do this a number of times and then just shut down. After doing some research, I found this machine was a part of a recall. I promptly called LG and got set up for a service person to come out and fix it. The fix was to replace the control circuit board. He replaced the circuit board and left only to find that the fix did not fix anything. It is still just as bad as ever. I called LG again and I ran a diagnostic on it with the phone and they said the circuit board is now just fine and their obligation of repair under the recall is completed but there is another problem with the machine. I would have to call for another service repairman to come out to fix it. My questions are this to LG appliance: 1) How can they possibly call this machine energy star qualified after running through so many spin cycles? Surely this is wasting a lot more energy than it could possibly be saving. 2) All this refilling and spinning is undoubtedly overburdening my septic drain field and wasting so much water that it is unbelievable. 3) With all the problems with these machines particularly with the spin cycle, it would seem to me that LG has a responsibility to provide a fix that works after all this machine cost over a $1K and it doesnt work and has never worked properly. I think my only recourse is to contact my attorney and see what legal remedies are available. Perhaps a class action lawsuit by all could convince LG to make the necessary repairs to make the machines to work right!! The only reason they get one star is that there is nothing lower! You could not get me to run fast enough away from LG appliances or any LG products in the future.

I purchased a French-door refrigerator. 8 months later, theres no ice maker. Then 1 day after, no freezer. I lost $200.00 worth of food, and no tech was available for 9 days. Finally, a repairman came and said it was too close to the wall and pulled it out and left. It was still not working, so the repairman came back 3 days later. He replaced something to check for leaks and said it should be better in 12 to 24 hours. 24 hours later, it was still not working. Then 45 days later, the repairman returned and said the compressor was no good and that he cannot replace for 5 days. In the meantime we have no refrigerator, he said that he recommended to LG that they replace the refrigerator but they refused.I will never ever buy an LG appliance. It is 4 weeks now with no refrigerator or freezer and living out of a cooler. And customer service says.So what? You have to wait for us to get the parts and service it. They are very rude people. I will never give LG another penny of my hard-earned money. I will let you know if replacing the compressor works.

The LG washer/steam (model Wm2699HNM) broke after 5 years. I called LG and the girl in India wanted to troubleshoot the problem over the phone before referring me to a repairman. I did troubleshoot with her to no avail and then she gave me the number of a repairman. The repairman came out and thought it was the motor. He opened it up to repair it and found that the drum had become detached from the spinner. He said he had never seen this happen on an LG washer. I sent LG an email and didnt receive a response. Then, I called them the next day. They stated that the drum had a lifetime warranty and the motor had a 10-year warranty, but there was nothing they could do for me for this problem. I spoke to an executive manager for the problem and he stated he was sorry that he couldnt help me since my washer was over a year old!

We purchased an LG machine from Home Depot several months ago. It has broken 5 times. We have had it repaired via phone technicians at LG via wireless and we have had to have an LG technician to the house to fix it. It has just broken again with nice clothing in it soaking wet with soap in them. LG customer service has been horrible. They said they can come next week at the earliest. The representatives were not helpful. When I asked who they reported to in order to escalate the situation to fix the machine and save my clothes, they said Bon-Moo Koo, the CEO in Korea. That is not a helpful problem resolution path. I am very dissatisfied with their product and even more dissatisfied with their customer service team who were awful. I am now working with Home Depot who are being helpful to return the machine and get another one as I cannot use this one as it breaks all the time. I would seriously recommend against getting an LG machine. It has been a horrible experience and wasted hours of my time on the phone.

Updated on 06/08/2021: This is a follow up to a review I wrote a few days ago about my LG refrigerator. I gave it 1 star only because I couldn’t leave zero. I was amazed that a company representative reached out because of the negative review but my amazement didn’t last. They are still dragging their feet. I have a 3 1/2 year old refrigerator that stopped working on May 16. It is suppose to have a 5 year warranty. I got the run around from LG customer service for weeks so I left the negative review. Yesterday I received a text saying they would try to find an alternate resolution but I had to send in my receipt. I don’t have any issue providing the receipt but I already sent the same supervisor the receipt on a May 26. Now I have to start the process again. I need to send her the receipt and in 7-10 business days one of their representatives will reach out with a possible resolution but I MUST NOT do anything with the broken refrigerator until I hear from them. So it’s possible I won’t hear from them for another 2 weeks but I’m suppose to leave a broken refrigerator in my house until they say differently? I simply cannot believe that they think I’m not going to replace the broken refrigerator for 5 weeks! Please don’t put yourself through what I’m dealing with. Don’t buy LG.Original Review: Do not buy a refrigerator from LG! I purchased one 3 years ago for $2,500. It came with a 5 year (worthless) warranty. It stopped working suddenly 2 weeks ago. I have called LG customer service every single day and they have done nothing to correct the situation. They can’t find anyone local to fix the unit because they have a Class Action Lawsuit due to a faulty compressor and no repairmen will touch it because of the potential liability. So I sit on day 14 with ZERO help. They have not called me back one time. I have to call every day and repeat my entire story to a different employee. Buyer Beware!

This is what that company said: Sorry, I dont provide this service. I suggest calling LG if under 5 years. If older replace unit. LG is known for sealed system issues. We no longer work on LG sealed system because of their known issues. We cant warranty something that we know doesnt last. We had problems with our first LG, and finally got our money back. We went to Tate Appliance Center in Tampa, FL where we explained what happened and told it was probably a bad unit. Liking the range, we repurchased another and again bought the $2,500 5-year insurance. Were informed that Tate would replace anything that was wrong, including total replacement. Within the first year, the range top glass started to crack. We called LG that the front burner would turn off automatically, beep or stay on. The technician said LG would not replace it unless it was from the electrical units. Then it cracked across the whole top, which the technician said it needed to be replaced. Lo and behold, LG recalled 161,000 units, but ours was corrected. Now we have cracking from the back control panel. Tate said we had to call their insurance company, but we first offered to have them refund our money and we would buy a 4-piece stainless steel GE package, but they refused. The insurance company said the cracking is not covered since it is cosmetic! We fear what will happen next, but we will never buy LG nor from Tate Appliance Center ever again. Consumers BEWARE!

Do not buy LG Washer WT4801CW! I bought an LG washer and dryer from the Home Depot this past March 3, 2012 with my tax money, thinking that I was getting a top-of-the-line. Well, I was wrong. Within 30 days of my purchase, it just stopped in a middle of a cycle. My clothes got locked in and I immediately called LG. Their response was that was a common known problem that those washers had and I couldnt get a replacement since they had the parts to fix it. So, I had fix-it parts on a brand new washer. So, after five days passed with my clothes still inside the washer, finally, a technician came out. My childrens clothes got damaged. It worked fine. I thought the nightmare was over until again, less than a month that the technician came out, it happened again on 5/4/12. This time, they knew who I was and just sent me to a supervisor. All she could say again was that if they had the parts to fix it, thats what they would do. I am very upset. I have to wait another five days to wash again and till then go to the Laundromat again. I dont know what to do; they will not replace this defective two-month old washing machine.

This is the worst machine ever. They are now selling a 2 year old machine at local flea markets to see if a sucker will buy it. True Balance means it will never truly balance and will not wash one load of clothing without it taking you hours. This machine might work on cement and only cement because if it is on a wood flooring it will not work.I have found that if I load clothes, it keeps trying to sense the clothing, then I shut it off, restart and let it go. I can get half a cycle done until it spins then is off balance again. Then you shut it off, turn it back on to spin. Shut it off, then restart with rinse and spin... You can sometimes get it to work. The worst design ever for this high priced piece of junk.LG is not a company I will ever purchase from again. Do not buy this machine and do not take this machine if it is given to you for free. All other comments are true. It will not wash clothes. It just spins around and uses endless amounts of water to balance. Hours upon hours for 1 small load. If you have this machine do what I listed above. Have the exact same type of clothing, start a cycle, let it get it wet, when it gives you the error message shut it off, restart when clothes are wet, then when it does the IE shut it off, restart on spin, then restart on rinse/spin. You can get one load done if you are lucky.LG is a horrible company. My LG phone failed after a year, the Washer has never worked... and other items. No more LG. Life is not Good with LG. Life stinks with LG and you pay the price. We paid over $900.00 for this washer and it never worked right. We are seasonal so by the time we returned the warranty is up and they cant find the extended warranty in Lowes system. Go figure. The call center was also a joke. Not in the USA and they tell you you are out of luck. Stay away from LG.

I am wondering if any of you have had problems with LG Customer Service and, if so, what was the outcome. Please read the circumstances of my inquiry below: We have been talking to LG since July 28th when our French Door refrigerator stopped working. It was determined by one of their licensed repair people that it was the sealed system and that it was under warranty for parts. However, he does not work on sealed systems. We then contacted LG for additional repair people. We were given five names which we called. Each one said that they either do not repair the sealed system or would not service our refrigerator because it was out of their geographic area. We then turned it back to LG, filed the necessary paperwork requested by LG and was assigned case number **. The case has gone from the Location Services Department to Resolution Department and back twice. We have talked to 5 plus people in the process, all who say it will be 3 to 5 days and they will get back to us which they never have. We have just talked to “Willie” who said that the case is in the Location Service Department once more and it will be 48 hours before he will know what the determination is from that department. Supposedly they are looking for a person to repair it. We are still without a refrigerator and I am at my wits end. In 5 more days it will be one month that we have been dealing with this issue.

I contacted LG again and was told there was nothing they could do, and I should buy a new microwave at my own cost. I purchased this microwave because of the advertised warranty. Purchased LG LFXS29626 refrigerator in mid-2015, the people at Home Depot were swamped with calls today. “It’s been like this for 4 months” she said. The Samsung and LG fridges made from 2013-2016 are all failing at an alarming rate, and any retailer that carried these disasters are feeling the backlash. The compressor on mine failed at 3yrs and 2 days exactly. I had purchased a 3 yr warranty, which including the 1 year from the manufacturer but doesn’t mean 4 years total. It’s still 3 yrs total. The first line of customer service with Home Depot refused to help with anything, but as most of us have done recently, we had to escalate to her supervisor. Credit where credit is due, Sup honored the extra few days and bailed us out of an $1,100.00 repair.Your mileage may vary but my compressor (the “New” Linear Compressor, guaranteed to last at least 2 years) failed along with the start switch block and a micro leak somewhere in their new closed-loop Freon system. But here’s where the issues started piling up: there’s no compressors in stock anywhere in the US. They’ve been failing at such an alarming rate they can’t be found. And to make matters worse there is no evidence whatsoever that LG’s engineering team has made any changes to the awful design of this piece. Their materials are pitifully weak and often just pot metal, their quality control/fit is ridiculously sloppy, and their whole concept of parts design is a disaster. My neighbor has one, purchased in January of 2015. His failed around last Christmas so we were biting our nails wondering when ours was going to let go. You can set your watch to it. We have 7 people in the family, and nobody is geared up to help us. The failures are just too chaotic. Home Depot has a 10 cu. Ft. loaner (a very small 3’ college dorm size), but it stays lent out due to the recent crises. I threatened to just buy another large fridge, this time one that would last like a Whirlpool - then return it. But they’re wise to that one. The new policy for fridge returns is 48 hours. Same for Lowe’s, Best Buy etc. After all, why should HD have to pay and compensate customers for sloppy Chinese imports that we keep gobbling up at a fever pitch?A call to LG revealed there’s nothing they can do for me even if case is escalated, so it’s living out of a cooler chest for the next 3 weeks. The service tech that came to the house noted that it would indeed fail again. He was working 10 calls that day, and 7 were either Samsung or LG refrigerators. And all of those were the compressor. He knew what my problem was before he walked in, but verified it anyhow to make it official. He and I discussed the “good” fridges for future reference: 1) Whirlpool (said he rarely has issues with those), 2) Some Kitchen Aids (watch out because LG makes some of those) and 3) Kenmore (watch out again because sometimes Samsung makes certain models). 4-**) SubZero and all the high-end units, but they still fail through the complexity of design. He’s been doing this for 7 years, so he knows. But we Americans are such suckers for flashy stuff. Like $7,000.00 internet refrigerators, a 20” LED color display, LED lighting with 4 doors, 2 icemakers, shiny black finish, two freezer doors, doors within doors for the fridge portion, stereo speakers, cameras inside the fridge to see what’s inside while you’re at the store with the cell phone app. And we love to impress our friends with a huge shiny expensive fridge. The kind that are designed to break in 3 year cycles. We rotated food to an old Kenmore circa 1982 that’s still running like a champ since we bought it 40 years ago. Not too big but it helped. Shelves are broken and doors squeak, but it still gets ice cold. No people, they don’t make them like they used to. And certainly no one cares one way or the other. It’s like buying a Mercedes; you’ll get little sympathy from anyone when it breaks down on the interstate. Especially the dealer. I’ve heard more ramblings of a class action against LG and Samsung of late than any time before. I’d keep your eyes peeled.

My wife and I purchased a new 30 cu.ft LG French door refrigerator Feb.15th 2015. Within 6 months we had a defrosting problem, service man came out. A few months later same problem except worse. MELTED AND SPOILAGE. Service man came out. Kept replacing the same part. Now I must have LG EXTENDED WARRANTY, A LG CONTRACTED service man came out, he was saying NO its a compressor. He came out again. HE TOLD THEM ITS A COMPRESSOR. They thought they (LG) knew better. Finally a LG Co. Repair man came out, with a compressor. Problem solved. Each time I called for service IT WAS 2 WEEKS before it was put in, even though it was not right. The last time it was 3 weeks but problem solved. I had to purchase another refrigerator, NOT A LG. It is performing great. A GE, I HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE THIS LG for about 12 WEEKS because of being ordered and BEING WRONG part. The customer service IS SO BAD. Then, the last time LG service came out, I was charged $395 because the ext. warranty had expired. My purchase date from SPENCERS APPL. Feb.15th 2015, $2750.

We have had a LG DLEX3001W Ultra Capacity Dryer and a WM3001HWA Ultra Washe
We have had a LG DLEX3001W Ultra Capacity Dryer and a WM3001HWA Ultra Washer for the past 4 years. Unlike the Wash Machine which is another story the Dryer has been a pretty decent appliance overall. We have although have had one consistent annoying issue that we have been experiencing and it is clothes being wet or very damp after a drying cycle. We did the normal cleaning of the lint filter and what we could visibly clean out of the lint filter cavity. Eventually this method of cleaning was no longer fixing the problem. I will note that we have a very short vent run to the outside which is always checked and is clean. So what we did was remove the lint screen and then took our vacuum cleaner with a small crevice attachment and cleaned out the lower lint cavity. We then reversed our vacuum hose to the blow side and placed the attachment into the lint cavity and wrapped it with a towel to prevent air leakage and then proceeded to blow air into the lint cavity. To our surprise there was quite a bit of lint that was forced through to the outside vent that we could not see in the lint cavity. From what we can figure it appears lint can become stuck along the exit path in the dryer and needs to be forced out. Once we cleaned out the lint cavity to the outside drying returned to normal. Hope this helps and prevents an unnecessary repair call and charges. It would be nice if Lg would add some information on this issue through their website to assist consumers.

Purchased a new LG, LFX31925ST on 4/08/2014, delivered 4/28/2014; ongoing problems with ice maker. When we called, we had to push buttons on ice maker to reset. It would work for a short time, called back, we had to push buttons to reset. This was extremely difficult as we both have arthritis. Finally on May 2015, they did extend warranty as it was on-going. A new ice maker installed. Lasted approx 3 mos. Called back, offered to send repair but at our expense. $3200 for a new refrigerator for our new home. Ridiculous!!! There has to be a recall on this appliance. We will NEVER purchase LG again!!

Updated 09/04/2020: Every single review here on this website, there is a response from LG promising to look into the problem, its been two weeks since I sent them my information that they asked for and have heard nothing. Since then Ive had my electric range repaired. On my credit card statement they charged me $135 just for the diagnostic and $150.50 for the replacement of a Rotary Switch. It took the repair technician 45 minutes to take my stove apart and test each component. He couldnt determine what was wrong with the stove at this point. Then he went to the visitor parking lot where his truck was parked and brought in the box of parts, why didnt he bring them in when he came in, (the clock is ticking at $65 for 15 minutes)? He opened the box and took out a rotary switch, thats the plug on the knob that turns your stove on and off. He replaced it and that was what the problem was, problem solved. The time that it took him replacing the very first part that he tested without taking the range apart was like two minutes. He should have done that to begin with. Summary: it took the Technician 50 minutes to take the whole stove apart and test everything without a diagnosis and less than 5 minutes to replace the first part that he tested without having to take the whole stove apart. I was charged an additional $150.50 for that on top of the $135 for the diagnostic fee. I disputed this charge with a supervisor after calling them and havent heard anything since 8/27/20 for their review of my complaint.Original review: I purchased the $1,100 electric range 2 years ago. I use it three, four times a month maximum and already after 2 years the front right burner doesnt work. I called customer service to inquire about it and they informed me the warranty had expired after a year. I said I was very disappointed after having a stove for only 2 years that already I need to have a burner replaced. I was told that the supervisor could review the matter and that I would hear back 3 to 5 days. I heard back after about eight days with a denial and that I have to pay for the repair. Im stunned that I paid $1,100 for the stove and already and it needs to be repaired???

I have setup a website lgwarn.com to further document our experience and provide photos and LGs denial letter. We purchased an LG Front loading washing machine that opened up during a wash cycle and LG is refusing to cover any of the damages to our home. This is particularly egregious because LG is aware that if their front loading machines over fill with water that the door will pop open. LG is knowingly selling front loading washers that will open if, for whatever reason, they get too full of water.MODEL NAME: WM2650HRA SERIAL NUMBER: 306PNAJ6G432. PURCHASE DATE: 4/20/2014 Retail price $1,099.00. It worked perfectly until 5/10/2014 when during a sanitation wash cycle the front door opened and poured water out causing over $3000 (supported by estimates from licensed contractors) of damage to our living space by ruining wall to wall carpet and some of the sub floor. On 5/10/14 LG service representative admitted that too much water would open the door. On 5/19/14 ** also stated that too much water would cause the door to open. This proves that LG was well aware of this feature of their front loading washing machines.5-20-2014 LG Call ** Representative Katie refused to provide smart diagnosis report from 5/10 incident and refused to provide her last name but transferred me to a supervisor. 5-20-2014 Adrian ID** seemed surprised that two people at LG had admitted the defect regarding the door opening. On 6/16/2014 our claim was denied by LG. We have filed a formal complaint against LG with the North Carolina Dept of Justice Consumer protection dept.

I love this dryer! I like the flexibility of entering in the temp and length of cycle or just pick a cycle pre-set. But it takes a while to see which pre-set cycle will work. For instance, drying sheets on normal cycle isnt going to work. I select bulky and it gets the job done. We have had this machine for about three years now and have had no problems at all.

Updated on 03/11/2019: This is a follow up to my January 2019 post. I lowered my rating to one star since the dryer (DLEX5680) was repaired only to break again within 6 weeks. The dryer was serviced and our house dryer vent was cleaned as recommended before using the dryer. It worked wonderfully for 6 weeks and now have the same symptoms. There should be a recall on this dryer. Very frustrating.Original Review: I purchased the dryer in mid-2014. Worked well first 4 years... Broke with a common issue. The dryer stopped working without warning. It thinks its drying but the machine is not running or drum rotating. Evidently this is a common problem since the repair company knew the problem and the part to order without a visit. Its been 3 weeks so far dealing with the warranty company and now we have to wait for the part. I will follow up this review with the wait and repair time.

I bought my LG refrigerator in July 2016 and the compressor went out in September 2017. It took LG over a month to send out a repair person because nobody will work on LG refrigerators in my area due to LG not paying repair people for service calls. Now it is May 2020 and my compressor has gone out again. I contacted LG and have not received a call back. I contacted a repair person and they will not replace this again because they said LG has not fixed the problem with compressors and it will just go out again.

Bought LG double door refrigerator about 2 years ago. The drawer broke after 6 months. Called for replacement part. Paid $50 for a new drawer. It didnt fit. Was the wrong one. Called LG. They said they dont make a replacement drawer for my model and they sent me the closest one which doesnt fit because its not for my refrigerator. They did refund my money and I now use the old drawer with duct tape. And dont even get me started on the ice maker. The LG refrigerators look nice but are made very poorly. And if you are looking for service and support after you buy and something goes wrong, dont purchase LG.

Purchased my $4k LG French door 26 cu ft refrig/freezer in Nov 2015. In June 2017 the refrig/freezer failed and not operable, had to throw all my food away. Repaired with new compressor. On December 26, 2018, the exact same problem occurred! Threw my food away again! the earliest a tech can come is on January 9, 2019! This appointment was after I complained about the first Jan 16th appointment given! Need another new compressor. Prior to this LG, I had another LG and its compressor that failed twice in the 3 years I owned it. Why did I buy another LG? Thought, What the odds of this happening again with a brand new LG. Well now I know. It must be a defective design that occurs repeatedly to a Lot of LG owners! Never will buy another LG!
